There have been a few questions recently about whether you or Terry Pratchett came up with particular elements of the original Good Omens novel and they seem to all have been things that you came up with- besides the Tadfield kids, which I think are well known to have been him, what are some fun little details or fan-favorite sectionsthat he brought to the book?
Thanks!
So much! Terry wrote more of Good Omens in the first draft than me. He wrote all the Tadfield stuff in first draft until they were heading to the airbase, and I took over the kids, with the R.P. Tyler scene, and Terry did the Four Horsemen (who had been mine) from there until the end. The Death of Agnes Nutter was completely Terry, as was the first Aziraphale and Crowley scene in the bookshop... Anathema and Newt getting together were Terry's until the post-coital bit...

I love this scene so so much, not only because of the stunning non-binary representation but because of how comfortable Crowley is with Ms Sandwich. He doesn't correct other people for calling him man/sir/Mr, like with R.P. Tyler, but feels safe enough around this group, and that is so so heartwarming. Just the way he feels more comfortable around people society sees as "lower class" like Ms Sandwich and Elsbeth is so goddamn sweet and I love him so much.
(Also him saying "but thank you" for being called "good" and not get prissy like he did for being called nice. He's come so far I'm so proud of him)

hi hi!
love love LOVE the work y’all do here! literally the backbone of the GO fandom!
i had a quick ask!
do you know of any smutty priest!aziraphale and/or priest!crowley fics?
sorry if this has been asked before, i couldn’t find anything!
<<33
Hi, yes plenty!
Head over to our previous recs here and check our #priests au, #priest aziraphale tag and #priest crowley tags!
Some new ones:
Entailed by FeralTuxedo [E]
Anthony Crowley, a single gentleman of seven-and-forty and guardian to two unmarried sisters, is awaiting the arrival of the young clergyman who is set to inherit his estate. A marriage between him and one of the Miss Crowleys would be advantageous for both. But Mr Fell has other plans.
Consolation by entanglednow [E]
"This doesn't have to change anything, Aziraphale. You're the same person you were yesterday."
Seeing You Home by TawnyOwl95 [E]
It’s time for a new start. And just how many of those has Crowley had since she found herself pregnant at seventeen?
This time it will be different though. This time she has a job, and a house and she doesn’t need another boyfriend. Especially not one who lives right next door.
Aziraphale Angel’s new start is proving tougher than he ever imagined. Eighteen months out of the Catholic Church and he’s still finding it hard to let go of certain beliefs about himself.
And his new neighbour is determined to test every one of them.
Your Possession Is My Game by WaldosAkimbo [E]
“Wonderful sermon today, Father,” Sister Mary said happily behind him while they were helping everyone exit out into the crisp morning, the frost just barely melting off the tufts of dying grass and threadbare trees.
“Bit touchy-feely,” one onerous fellow who came sharp and exact every Sunday, Mr. R.P Tyler, had to comment on his way out. Father Fell smiled beatifically all the same, if just for the satisfaction of not having his spirit dampened.
“Yes, well.” Father Fell decided to shake Mr. Tyler’s hand and squeezed it just that bit harder. The look on Mr. Tyler’s face betrayed his surprise at Father Fell’s strong, insistent grip. “Perhaps those that prickle the most are in dire need of the message. Did you need a hug?”
-or-
Crowley has been sent up to snag a possession for his supervisor, when he accidentally seals himself to Father Fell's home. Shenanigans ensue as the two learn to live with each other.
In the Arms of the Angel by Nadzieja [E]
Aziraphale is far from perfect, he knows that. He's been told as much, many times. A pathetic excuse for an angel. He's always stood out. So when Crowley's warm hands slide along Aziraphale's sides, when he calls Aziraphale beautiful, looks at him with so much hope and admiration, how can Aziraphale resist?

the book and radio good omens will always have a special place in my heart. the comedy is truly amped up to a billion. the running elvis joke, the extra horsemen giving themselves names, r.p. tyler drafting letters to the council and giving awful directions, and the silly reaction to the paint guns. it's just so funny

26, 34, 55 and 56 please my love 💜
hello legenddd hehehe
26. which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
DID YOU ASK ME THIS SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I TOLD YOU AND AMY I WOULDN'T KNOW HOW TO ANSWER IT AHAHAH
umm i'm gonna say Despite Knowing Better... just bc there's some intense sexual moments? what do u think, do u agree adlkfkgjd
34. five years from now, where do you see yourself as a writer?
oh gosh, you're asking me all the hard questions!!! i genuinely have no idea, all i can hope is that i'll still be writing regularly at that stage, because i've always seen myself as a writer and i took a massive break after i graduated film school. i'm so glad that break is over and i'm back in the rhythm of it now! this is the best time i've ever had writing by far and i never want it to end<3
55. of the characters you write for, which is your favourite? has that choice been swayed at all by your followers'/readers' reactions to certain ones?
in terms of povs, either third person or first person, i genuinely enjoy writing aziraphale and crowley equally! though i have to say i worry that i don't capture crowley's voice very well. in terms of side characters, i really enjoy writing nina in general, and tbh i loved writing a little bit of r.p. tyler in Just Up the Stairs!!! i don't think readers' reactions have influenced my answer much, but i'd be interested to know people's opinions on whether they have a preference as to my az or crowley povs
56. what's something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
not u forcing me to be nice about myself smh. ermmm i suppose this - sometimes i'm reading a sexy fic and the actions of the characters are (possibly deliberately) vague, which i struggle with, because it's important for me to know people's bodily positions, and where hands are, things like that, for me to make sense of a scene and really enjoy it! so i try to really make that clear in detail in my own fics (which i've been told my @omens-for-ophelia is useful for an artist, so that's an added bonus eheheh) :-)
thank u so much for this bestieee

All Lines Are Open
First fic of 2023 is coming in just a few days, and I'm so excited about this one! It's a collaboration with the wonderful @tawnyontumblr, in which Crowley is a chaotic radio talk show host, and Azirpahale his long-suffering producer.
Tumblr media
Expect small-town gossip, on-air shenanigans, a good deal of smut, and... witches?
Open for a little excerpt.
“…and right after the break, we’ll take more of your calls on the issues that matter to you, whether it’s about your neighbour who insists on playing acid jazz in the middle of the night, or that teacher you’re convinced secretly hates your brat of a child. Why not call in about the pothole on the sliproad to the A423? It’s already Wednesday and we’ve only discussed that three or four times this week. The time is 9:23am, I’m Anthony Crowley, and you’re listening to Tadfield FM.”
Crowley ripped his headphones off, just as Aziraphale pressed the button that cued the ads. He glowered across the desk, lips pursed in that way that told Crowley he was about to receive a two-and-a-half-minute bollocking from his producer.
He nearly wiggled in anticipation. Aziraphale adjusted the fit of his own headphones, smoothed out the ends of his bow tie, then sat up even straighter than before and took a deep breath.
Here we go, Crowley thought and, for good measure, lifted his boots onto the edge of the desk that separated them.
“That was really rather unnecessary,” Aziraphale began. “You cannot just call our listener’s children brats—”
“Bet they are though.”
“That’s immaterial. They’re all part of the Tadfield FM family—”
“You did not just say that.”
“And they certainly don’t deserve to be insulted by their local radio presenter, no matter how hungover he happens to be on a Wednesday morning.”
“That’s slander.”
“Please, I can smell it from here.”
Aziraphale wrinkled his nose to emphasise the point. Fine. Maybe Crowley hadn’t quite had enough time for a shower this morning, and maybe he had fallen asleep on the sofa last night with the telly on and two empty bottles of his favourite pinot noir on the coffee table. But that was his business alone, and definitely not that of someone who looked like he ironed his bow ties.
“And did you really have to be quite so rude about the pothole?” Aziraphale had now entered the pleading stage of his entreaties. “It’s an important matter to so many locals.”
“It’s an important matter to exactly one R.P. Tyler, who you insist on getting on the line every single day just to piss me off.”
“Whom.”
“What?”
“It’s whom I insist on getting on the line every single day.”
“Fuck off.”
“And what will you do if I do? Answer the phone yourself? I don’t think so. Oh, look, we’re back in five… four… three…”
Crowley grinned as Aziraphale finished the countdown on his fingers.
The look he gave Crowley when he gave him the cue to start talking was full of dire warnings.
Crowley's grin widened.

Highway to Pail Day 18
[Day 1] [Prev] [Next] @do-it-with-style-events
February 18: Why couldn’t the bicycle stand up by itself? It was two-tired!
The Them were bicycle fiends: that is, they were fiends that had bicycles. R.P. Tyler had recently described them as fiends in a column in the Tadfield Advertiser, and Adam liked the sound of the word, as he told his friends while they biked to the woods. Brian had thought he’d meant friends and been misprinted, which was an unusually complex thought for Brian, but Wensleydale had no qualms about shooting it down immediately with the definition of fiends, “evil spirits or demons, or sometimes the Devil,” which they roundly agreed described them just as well as friends did, but this time with a slightly uneasy feeling about it, as though something was tugging at the corner of their minds.
“Well, s’pose even the Devil must have friends,” said Pepper, who strongly suspected she was thinking of someone else. “What’s the point of having demons and stuff around, if you can’t be friends with them? Seems like it’d be boring, being in Hell and not having any friends.”
“Not if you got to poke people with a stick,” said Brian. “I could poke people with a stick for hours and not get bored.”
“This wouldn’t be for hours though,” Wensleydale said reasonably. “It’d be for eternity. Like if you were poking someone all day for a whole year, but the year lasted forever.”
“Well, I guess a year might get boring,” Brian conceded, “if you had to keep using a stick, and not something better.”
“Anyway, poking people with sticks would be an expression of masculine chauvinism in the patriarchal world,” Pepper finished off, with the aura of finality she usually had when using words she didn’t quite know the meaning of, and the three boys nodded along like they understood.
Adam was unusually silent through the conversation and the rest of the bicycle ride, until they came to their hideaway. As they parked their bikes, he gave off an air of grim remembrance, like the weight of the world was on his shoulders in an unusually literal way.
This time, as Brian’s bike rattled to the ground rather than stay leaned on its kickstand, Wensleydale took it on himself to try to break the awful tension. “They do that because they only have two tires, you know,” he tried. “Makes it so their center of gravity’s at the handles so they fall. But a tricycle has three of them, so the seat is in the center, so it stays up.”
All three of them looked nervously at Adam, who seemed lost in his thoughts; but then he shook them out.
“Makes sense,” he declared, and the Them let out a deep breath in unison. They hadn’t actually been holding one, but they were so relieved that one had appeared in their lungs. “It’s like a chair, isn’t it, that moves around? And you never see chairs with two legs.”
This was true, as far as the Them were concerned.
It seemed like things had changed that summer, some conversations veering into the uncanny ever after and no warning until they did. But the Them were still the Them, and Adam was still Adam, and the world still spun and at the center of it all was Lower Tadfield, England, the United Kingdom, Earth, the Solar System, the Milky Way Galaxy. So long as that was true, Adam, Pepper, Brian, and Wensleydale all fiercely believed, everything would be all right.

Good Omens Fic Rec: You're Just a Little Under Rehearsed
Drama teacher Crowley loves directing the Tadfield Community Players' shows—interacting with the rest of the staff at the community center, not so much. So when he meets the new accompanist for this year's musical, he's shocked to find that he might actually like him. Possibly more than like, if he's being honest. Aziraphale is fresh from leaving a long career as a church pianist, and hoping that a new job will get him out of the lonely rut he's found himself in. The attention and kindness of the flashy community theater director are unexpected, but not unwelcome. Far from it. But with a community theater to run, a show to put on, and a disgruntled R.P. Tyler looking for any excuse to get rid of Crowley and his theater program, will they be able to make a relationship work? And, more importantly, can they make sure the show still goes on?
Length: 53,369 words
AO3 Rating: Teen and Up
Best for: Safe in Public, Fluff, Human AU
Triggers: None
Read it here, fic by MickyRC
*Minor Spoilers* I read this in the afternoon, on the couch, with a big blanket and what a great way that was to enjoy this story! This is a human au where Crowley is the director of the Tadfield community theatre, and Aziraphale is this year's music accompanist. Now I may be biased because I did community theatre for 7 summers as a kid, and this perfectly captures the gentle chaos of this kind of production. I love Crowley's passion for theatre and everyone in his community. This is for everyone who loves a softie Crowley. All the side characters you know and love will appear, and are used very well. Sometimes in fic I want to skip past side character stuff, but here it was never a chore! It is a very chaste story, there is romance, but this is much more interested in telling us about the production itself and how that's going. Their love story is very sweet, but I did find myself wanting a little more passion. Which doesn't mean explicit content to me. Just a little more fire for each other, getting take out and cuddling is nice, but I also want to read about how crazy they are for each other. Overall this is the story you want when you want the warm fuzzies, or if you were a theatre kid. It's full of the love that a community can bring. The big family they've all found in each other. It brought back so many fond memories for me!
