Omeleto is my favorite YouTube channel right now. For a romantic like me, it has my number. I love vignettes of the human condition and the subsequent feelings the stories make me feel. Good art, be it a painting, words on a page, a song or symphony, a photograph, or a film can create swells of sensations in my chest, then I catch myself taking a deep breath, and as I exhale and release the fullness, the feelings can well up into the corners of my eyes. I got really good at hiding my feelings out of fear of being called out as being overly sensitive, or possibly something even more derisive that men with deep feelings can be called. Now that I'm learning how to love and accept myself as nature and the gods intended, I just put a hand over that place in my chest that used to keep those feelings safely hidden for me, and I let them know it's safe for them to come out now. My higher power has given me the strength to reassure my soul that being strong and sensitive are not mutually exclusive.

Today is the worst day of my life.

I woke up again as usual

And then i went downstairs to get an omelette

I ordered my standard omelette order, but here was where the first fuck-up happened

I forgot to ask for jalapenos

So already my day was ruined.

And then the chef put WAY too much ham

WAY too much

The cheese was appropriate

The spinach was appropriate

But the ham?

Way too much.

So as i collect my omelette and im consuming it so effortlessly, due to prior positive omelette experiences, I become increasingly frustrated

I'm wondering why it doesnt taste like a loving, perfectionistic form of omelette that accompanies the tender passion of any omelette maker

And as I finish 1/4th of my 5 egg omelette

I realize why it tastes so abhorrent

Can you guess why? It's the second fuck-up.

It’s cause he put too much ham

WAY too much ham

And i’m repulsed.

So instead of enjoying my morning, I sadly eat the omelette while watching netflix, realizing every bite does not provide satisfaction, but rather every bite is a hollow, empty shell of a cholesterol-induced coma.
