Mike with POTS Headcannon

Now I don't think of this hc as my truth (unlike the au I adore where Ness replaces Vanessa plot wise and is this cute little investigator) but Mike is definitely disabled. And so am I!!! In fact, I have POTS and EDS

POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) is a condition that causes a number of symptoms when you transition from lying down to standing up, such as a fast heart rate, dizziness and fatigue. [Via Cleveland Clinic]

It is why he is always so sleepy!!!!!

With money being tight, he always puts Abby first. So his diet is... Extremely lacking. He needs more salt in him (sodium greatly helps diminish symptoms)

He does exercise though, which helps keep his heart healthy and helps with symptoms.

But POTS certainly wasn't well understood in 2000. It also presents more commonly in women. It wasn't until our pandemic 20 years later has medicine started to tackle and understand the disease.

He's in the majority where he experiences presyncope [dizziness with no fainting/dizziness that preludes fainting] but never syncope [fainting] unless the conditions are extreme.

He should use a cane on his severe flare up days, but refuses to

He enjoys his security jobs because he can sit when he needs to (standing for long periods of time can be difficult with POTS).

He did pass out once when he worked at the mall but he told HR it was heat stroke or some lie he pulled out his ass because he felt like he was having a heart attack (he was having palpitations - extremely common with POTS) but didn't want to go to the ER for that. Can't afford the ambulance 😩

If he ever does get diagnosed it's later in life and he stresses to Abby to see if she also has it (it can be genetic).

Ramblings about the type of partner/lover Aesop Sharp would be before his incident:

I feel like he would take notice of the small things you enjoy and bring that back into your life. Sees you always smiling at a certain flower? Come home them being planted in your flower bed or as a huge bouquet.

His job will always be more important, but he tells you that now he has something to protect and he must stay vigilant.

When he is home between missions, he dotes on them constantly. Pillow under the feet as they lounge and read a book, a blanket if they have a single goosebump, telling them how much he loves them every time he sees them.

He would try to hide his injuries from his work, not wanting to worry you and to keep you separate from his work. If you don't know what he is doing, it's safer for you.

He would always make sure to have major holidays, your birthday and anniversary off from work. Maybe there was one day where it was 'unavoidable' but with how Aesop exploded on his boss for that day, it always seemed avoidable from them on.

He would love teaching or showing you new things he had come across. Not full lectures, but short bursts of information that he would enthusiastically share

He would have anecdotes for everything

He is painfully practical with everyone except for you. He greatly enjoys giving into your wishes and whims

My head cannon. I think that both Sun, and Moon. Has a mental compacity of a 10-year-old. Or perhaps older than that. And why I think that's the appropriate comparison, for that age. Is because, at that age they are still into playing with toy's, and playing games.

And also, are old enough to take on responsibilities, and have more range of stuff they like to do. And are at that age to take more opportunities. And it could be with anything. Even up to the age of 13 years old. Even though, their bodies, and their age are fully grown.

But, with their nature connecting with their behaviors as such, including playing around. This would be fitting with this idea. And to give them independence.

Oh and Raimundo, in canon, is already drawn to shiny things and money.

AU Dragon Raimundo has to deal with western dragon issues of "oh shiny I like shiny things" which thankfully he has mostly learn to deal with. He does notice shiny things faster than other things though. If its shiny, glows, or moves, his attention is grabbed faster.

Excellent for spotting Wu. Not so much when you're trying to stay focused.

Steve’s full name is Steven Grant Rogers, so here’s this theory. In the 1990s or whenever they made a movie about a treasure hunter and decided to name him after Captain America. Steven Grant. And then came young Marc, obsessed with that movie, needing someone to protect him and creates the alter Steven Grant.

So that’s my theory on why Moon Knight and Captain America have the same name.
