60.  Karamel Endgame for „Supergirl“
Tumblr media
Was this ever going to happen? The speculation was there, after all „Supergirl“ was ending, and no one was expecting the show to just, you know, stop. While I personally think the ending was kind of fitting even thought the writers did not think the ramifications of Kara outing herself completely through, the forever goodybe between Kara and Mon-El caught me of guard because … why?
I mean, yes, we all know Kara would never leave Alex behind, but since there is time travel, why rob the fans of the possibility of an happy ending even if they are not showing it to us because they want to keep Supergirl around in the present for future crossovers? The really annoying part is that we actually won’t ever see Supergirl again. There is very little chance of her appearing in Season 9 of „The Flash“ and there is no Supergirl in „Superman & Lois“, and even if there were, it would not be Kara, just some Doppelganger of her, so who cares? The Season 4-6 Writer’s Room was very Anti-Season 1-3. In the end it seems like they actually wanted to purge Kreisberg from the show by undermining his storytelling. Which is a shame, because it’s not like he was writing the show by himself, and people liked it, and a lot of people thought that the first three seasons were better than the last three - and not because of Covid or Melissa’s pregnancy. So I don’t think we would have gotten this under that Writer’s Room, but especially looking back, it would have been a better decision to have the show end with Kara going away with Mon-El for whatever reason than to have her stick around and never see her again anyways.

Why does Celeste get so much hate?
Tumblr media
My latest Celeste tiktok edit got me thinking about the different treatments of Elijah's love interests and Klaus' love interests. Specifically, Aurora and Celeste.
Because when you think about it, they are basically the same character. And yet, Aurora is treated with a lot more sympathy than Celeste.
Celeste was first introduced as a past love of Elijah. Elijah states that she was one of two great loves that he has ever had. We see that he was so consumed by this love that he, for the first time in 800 years, waivered from his family. This made Klaus angry and he had her brutally murdered.
Similarly, Aurora was Klaus' first love (yes, I know there is a debate on first or second love. I think she was his first). Klaus was so in love with her, that he wanted to bring her on the run with him and his family. However, when Aurora reveals that Klaus was responsible for his mother's death to Elijah, Elijah accidentally compels her to breakup with Klaus. He then proceeds to compel her to pretend to be Rebekah for 100 years.
To me, there are very similar stories. Except, at least Aurora isn't murdered. Because of this, they both turn to revenge against the Mikaelson family for the harm the Mikaelsons have committed against them. They even have similar runtimes on the show -- Celeste is on TO for 13 episodes and Aurora is on for 17 episodes.
Yet I've seen a lot more people support Aurora's hatred of Elijah and get angry at Celeste's revenge against Klaus. The most logical, and probably accurate, reason is that Klaus is the fan favorite and the show centers every storyline around him, reducing Elijah to a background character. Which reduces his love interests down to background characters. This is a big reason why people will "never forgive Elijah" but don't care that Klaus killed Celeste.
But the arguments against Celeste are often that "she was doing too much." While the same people will support Aurora because she is the female Klaus. Celeste essentially toyed with the Mikaelsons for the better part of half a year, but Aurora buried Rebekah at sea, murdered Camille, and tried to murder Elijah and Freya. If Aurora wasn't doing too much, I don't think it's fair to be angry at Celeste for trying to get her revenge.
I also see so many people saying 'if Elijah hadn't compelled Aurora, they would still be together,' but where is that logic with Celeste? I don't even think Celeste and Elijah get their own ship name when she was just as important to Elijah as Aurora was to Klaus.
Aurora typically makes lists of people's top favorite characters. She was so popular that they brought her back in Legacies. Celeste hardly got a mention once her character was killed, even though she was an ancestor on the Other Side and still could have played a role in the witches.
The TVDU has a habit of sidelining POC characters and it seems Celeste is just another woman of color who does not get enough credit. After all, her plotting is what set all of The Originals into motion.
(Celeste doesn't even come up when I search the tags)

I’ve been thinking way too much about Peepaw Leo and Casey, so I decided to write a drabble where future Leo also got sent back in time with Casey, but the Leo’s are homies because it’s been a while since everything went down :)
This is a fluff bomb and I’m not sorry ;)
Oh also, Leo = present day Leo, Leon = future Leo :)))
Disclaimer: This is a tickle fic so if you’re not into that please just scroll! :)
(As always, everything is 100% platonic and just meant to be family fluff!!!)
Warnings: None I believe lol

That Brought Me Back
Casey had been sitting quietly in his room, reading a Jupiter Jim comic book that Leo had lent him earlier that day.
He had gotten so wrapped up in the storyline that nothing had pulled his attention away from it for a good half an hour, except for the sudden shriek that echoed throughout the tunnels of the sewers.
Casey jolted upright, grabbing his hockey stick and venturing out into the lair to find the source of the shriek, which was now sounding more like… laughter?
He continued forwards warily, keeping his hockey stick out in front of him until the laughter got louder and louder.
“LEHEO! STOHOP!”
Mikey?
Casey stepped foot into the main area of the lair that was dubbed ‘the hang-out spot’.
The scene that Casey witnessed before him wasn’t what he was expecting to see today, but now that he thought about it, he wasn’t really surprised.
Leo was sitting on top of Mikey’s shell, digging mercilessly into his youngest brother’s underarms as Mikey kicked his legs underneath him.
“LEHEO!” Mikey cried as Leo noticed the presence of another person in the room.
“Alright, alright,” Leo grinned, stepping off of Mikey and letting him recover.
“What’s up, Case?” Leo held out a hand for Mikey to take, pulling Mikey to his feet.
“Oh, I heard Mikey shriek and I just wanted to see what the fuss was about.” Casey chuckled, setting down his hockey stick against the wall.
“Oh yeah, he’s fine! Just sensitive-” Leo teased.
“Hey!”
Leo giggled and turned back to face Casey.
“What about you, huh? You ticklish?” Leo grinned mischievously.
Casey managed to hide his reaction, fully aware that no matter what he answered, Leo was going to test it out on him anyways.
“I don’t think so,” Casey shrugged, leaving Leo and Mikey both looking perplexed.
“You don’t think so?” Leo questioned, folding his arms over his plastron in disbelief.
“How could you not know?” Mikey scoffed, a little bit of his Dr. Delicate Touch side seeping through.
“I mean, I literally lived in an apocalypse, I guess I just never got tickled much.”
“Fair point.” Leo admitted.
“You know what we gotta do, man.” Mikey deadpanned before looking at Leo and smirking.
“Yep,” Casey didn’t even put up a fight and laid on the floor awkwardly in-between Leo and Mikey.
Leo and Mikey knelt down and gave him confused looks.
“Casey, my man, I will find a way to break you.” Leo tried to break the tension in the air.
“Okay.” Casey responded nonchalantly.
Mikey stared at him in awe at how he wasn’t getting all riled up at this point.
Even Donnie was more reactive than this.
Leo hovered his hands over Casey’s torso. Still no reaction.
“Are you gonna do it?” Casey questioned, a slight tone of annoyance in his voice.
He just wanted to get this over with.
“Okay, mister, well when you put it that way!” Leo shot back equally as annoyed.
His favorite part was the build-up where his brothers would start to giggle with anticipation before he even started, but clearly that wasn’t happening here.
Leo poked Casey in the stomach, yet the boy only laid there like nothing had even happened.
If anything he just looked bored.
“Lift up your arms.” Mikey demanded, his face scrunching with determination to get Casey to laugh.
“Whatever you want, Mikey,” Casey folded his arms behind his head as if he were relaxing, closing his eyes to add to the building disappointment of both of the turtles.
Mikey scratched away at Casey’s underarms, but still, nothing.
“Not even a smile?” Leo groaned as he attempted to squeeze Casey’s sides.
This kid wasn’t giving them anything whatsoever.
“Can I sit up now?” Casey asked, a smug look faintly painted on his face.
“Yeah, sure, whatever, dude.” Leo sat back and rolled his eyes. He wasn’t actually annoyed, just disappointed he didn’t have another person to torment whenever he felt like it.
Casey sat up in-between the turtles, both of them sitting there in silence as Casey propped himself up.
“Wow, you guys are in a bad mood.” Casey joked, looking over at Leo and studying his face. He was similar enough to Master Leonardo that could tell he was only being dramatic.
“Leo?” Casey poked the red-eared slider in the side, eliciting a small squeal from said turtle.
Casey’s eyes lit up at the sound and he looked over to Mikey, who couldn’t keep up the ‘upset’ front any longer and flashed a smile across his face.
Leo huffed and turned so that he wasn’t facing them.
Mikey rolled his eyes and gave Casey a look, quickly darting his eyes to Leo and back to Casey. He knew what Leo wanted.
Mikey quietly shifted himself, preparing himself to launch at his older brother as he gave Casey a look saying: ‘Watch this.’
“Cowabunga!” Mikey shouted and shot himself at Leo, tackling him over and getting right to the point.
“Mihikey! Dohohon’t!” Leo’s giggles immediately filled the once empty silence in the air.
Casey scooted over to the action, jumping in to help Mikey get revenge on Leo from earlier.
“CAHASEY!” Leo’s laughter became louder when Casey scratched his fingers along the side of his shell.
“What are you guys doing in here?” The older slider’s voice cut through his younger counterpart’s laughter.
Casey stopped torturing Leo abruptly, butterflies growing in his stomach as soon as he heard his sensei’s voice.
He might have been able to put on an act for the younger mutant turtles, but his sensei was a different case.
“We’re just having fun!” Mikey carried on with his ticklish onslaught on Leo, sending Leo into a fit of giggly laughter again.
Leon couldn’t help but smile at the scene in front of him.
He missed these moments with his brothers.
“MIHIKE! GEHET OFF!” Leo rolled over and threw Mikey off in the process.
“What? You scared of being embarrassed in front of Leon?” Mikey teased. Leo only stuck his tongue out at him buried his face in his arms.
“Oh that ship sailed a while ago.” Leon chuckled, “But I’ve also seen my fair share of little Junior here being embarrassed too.” He added, making Casey’s cheeks flush to a light pink.
“Casey told us he’s not ticklish.” Mikey rested his elbow on Leo’s back and propped up his head, “We even tried to get him but he didn’t even smile.” Mikey looked defeated.
Casey had turned to face the other way to avoid the turtles from pointing out his blushing.
Leon’s brows furrowed with confusion, Casey had always been a pretty sensitive kid…
The realization hit him almost instantly.
“Oh, he didn’t now, did he?” A devilish smile grew on Leon’s face as he turned to make eye-contact with his surrogate son.
Casey’s face had turned a shade of beet red as he began slowly inching away from the three turtles.
“Where are you going?” Leon smirked at Casey, lunging for him and grabbing his arm so that he couldn’t escape.
The teen couldn’t help the giggles bubbling up in his throat, desperately prying at his sensei’s hand in an attempt to get away.
Leon pulled Casey into his lap sideways, his hair a mess all over his face as he pleaded with Leon and pushed his hand away from him.
The one advantage Casey had was that Leon currently only had one arm, but he was still a hell of a lot weaker than the full grown mutant turtle man.
“You’re really not doing a good job of selling yourself to them here, Case.” Leo grinned down at Casey already going crazy in his lap.
Leon pulled his arm back and wiggled his fingers down at Casey, sending the boy into a fit of laughter as he once again attempted to block Leon’s hand.
“I haven’t even touched you yet!” Leon was amused with himself, finally slipping past Casey’s hands and drilling his fingertips gently into Casey’s stomach.
Casey’s laughter rang out and bounced off of the walls, all of them unable to help the smiles they wore at the sound Leon was eliciting from the usually quiet teen.
Leon skittered his hand around Casey’s torso, hitting a sweet spot on his ribs that sent him squealing.
Leo and Mikey felt betrayed by this.
“Dude! How did he do that earlier?” Leo was thoroughly impressed with Casey’s little performance he had put on only minutes before.
“It’s all in your head!” Leon responded as he continued digging his fingers into the crook of Casey’s neck, a stream of nasally giggles leaving Casey’s mouth, “It’s a tactic I taught him when he was younger, but we used tickling as a way to build up those skills.”
“That’s neat!” Mikey chimed in.
“So, what I’m hearing right now is that he wanted you to tickle him?” Leo questioned, sitting up straight, “Because his walls broke down the moment you brought it up.”
Leon looked from his younger self back to Casey squirming around in his lap, the pure childishness of it warming Leo’s heart.
This is what Casey should have always looked like.
Happy, not worried about an apocalyptic invasion, carefree, the list went on for miles.
“Maybe,” Leon shrugged, “I can’t say I blame him though.” He winked at the younger slider, bringing a small blush to the teen’s face.
He kept forgetting Leon knew all of his thoughts.
Leon chuckled and pulled his hand away from Casey, letting him breathe and calm down.
“Thahat was soho mean!” Casey whined, now pouting in Leon’s lap.
“Oh, that brought me back!” Leon scooped up Casey into a crushing hug, “You used to be so little, oh, and you were just the cutest thing!” Leon shook him around in his arms.
“Sensei!” Casey’s giggles were full of embarrassment as he pulled himself away from Leon’s hug, falling backwards and landing on his palms.
“I speak no lies!” Leon shrugged, laughing when Casey’s cheeks went pink again.
“Yeah, yeah, enough with the sappy stuff, grandpa-”
“Hey-”
Leo threw an arm around a very flustered Casey’s shoulders and pulled him backwards, “I told you I would find a way to break you! I just never said it would be this version of me!”
Casey rolled his eyes at Leo’s logic.
It still weirded him out how similar the two Leo’s acted, even though he knew they were the same person.
“Wait,” the wheels in Casey’s brain began to turn, “If he’s also you, wouldn’t that mean he has the same sensitive spots as you?” He looked up at Mikey, who immediately picked up what he was putting down.
Leo sat in silence before a grin took over his face.
“I like where your head is at, Case.” Leo craned his neck upwards to look at Leon, Casey following his movement.
Leon perked his head up to see three very mischievous looking teenagers staring him down.
“Okay, Peepaw,” Leo released Casey and cracked his knuckles for dramatic effect.
“Your turn.”

This gotta be the last time I'm talking about it.
In my humble opinion, the "Boston is/isn't being punished by the narrative for being promiscuous" discourse here on tumblr/twitter/tiktok is starting to boil down to if you believe the producers intended for us to feel pity/sympathize with Boston or not - which is just a more convoluted way to say authorial intent vs. death of the author, i.e. a never-ending discourse. Let me try to explain my train of thought:
I, for one, prefer death of the author. To me, it doesn't matter if authors had a certain intention or not: if it wasn't 100% crystal clear, any grounded (as in with evidence) interpretation is just as valid as the original intent. Once the story is public, it is ours to interpret.
This is how I choose to interpret media, that's the way I think makes more sense to my beliefs. There is no "wrong" way to do it. If someone thinks the authors opinions and intentions matters when interpreting, that's fine, that's just not the way I and other people prefer to do it.
So when it comes to Boston's development and narrative, to ***me*** (gotta be very clear again), it doesn't matter if the authors wanted us to sympathize with him. It equally does not matter if they hated Boston and wanted us to despise him. It does not matter what they wanted to do. To me, what matters is the media they put in front of us.
And, to ***me*** and many others in the audience, there was a harsher punishment for him based solely in his sexual habits. I'm sure you can find the think pieces and evidence in many posts here on Tumblr, but I'll give you my main 3 points (and 1 side point).
You can skip them if you're as tired as I am:
Boston's friends constantly judging him by his sex behaviors - while the other presumed slut Top (I say presumed because, other than Boston - arguably, since Top was practically coerced by him - he never showed interest in people other than Mew) was given praise since he wanted monogamy now;
Boston was recorded non consensually twice + having said recordings spread by others (even being threatened to have his recording shown to his presumed homophobic father);
Atom falsely accusing him of sexual assault because he didn't want a relationship with him. Side note: this one gets me the most because some people use this storyline to justify the "narrative wanting us to sympathize with him" opinion. Look, I'm sorry, but if they wanted us to do that, Boston would have had no consequences for his false assault, and Atom would have for his false claim. Instead, we got Boston choosing to not graduate (a punishment first inflicted on him by his friends for his, I repeat, false accusation of a crime) and Atom confessing his own crime to his sister and receiving a "oh, you did bad but I'm proud you're out now" as a response. We got absolutely no catharsis from this storyline;
Boston is the only character to have an absolutely miserable final scene. Yeah, it was Nick's final scene too but he wasn't miserable, he was free from that really toxic dynamic. The only promiscuous character is the only one to get absolutely nothing by the end - as in visual media, what we actually saw with our eyes. I know he is most definitely better in NY, but we never got to see it. The classic show, don't tell wasn't used (and with a miserable ending scene like that, we needed to be shown, not just told by other characters that he is doing good);
Actually, scratch that: Boston wasn't the only one shown pursuing multiple people at the same time unapologetically. Do you know who the other one is? Boeing, a non character, plot device of a villain that also got a bad ending. Do y'all see my point?
This is what I got from his character development. This is what was shown to us, Boston being constantly berated within the narrative by the fact that he is a slut. In these points I did give my personal opinions, but the core of it was based on actual scenes from the series. Don't get me wrong, I believe there was a way for the narrative to simply portray him as a villain - if they focused more on the betrayal aspect of topboston car night than on the broad aspect of Boston sleeping around. But they didn't do it. They chose a language that in the real world would be slutshamey without a doubt.
And don't fool yourself, there is real slutshaming happening in this fandom. It may be directed at a fictional character, but the behaviors criticized are real. Real people can be slutty like Boston, and they should not face criticism because of this. Wanna hate on Boston? Please hate him for being a shitty friend, or for sleeping with Top, or because he lied to Nick. Not because he sleeps around.
I still don't know the crew's intention with his character, and I don't claim to know. I do have opinions on what the directors/writers/cast actually think of a character like Boston, but again, it does not matter when it comes to us as audience and what we think of it.
Am I saying this way of ignoring the intention of the authors is the correct way? NO. I just urge you to remember that we do not have all the information on the intentions of the crew. Actually, we have more evidence of them simplifying Boston's character as just a "slutty villain" (eg. Jojo's comment in a podcast - I believe it was the LoveCast? Don't quote me) than we have evidence of them wanting us to sympathize with him. Am I saying that this is what they had in mind while producing the series? NO. And even if it was, IT DOES NOT MATTER what they had in their heads. What matters is the finished product, and the finishing product, to me and many others, was a slutshamey narrative.
You can still have your opinion, disagree and all with whatever I said here. You aren't inherently wrong for thinking the authors had the intent to make us sympathize with Boston, as I said, we don't have access to their original thoughts. What I do not think it's cool is that there are people simply dismissing valid criticism, calling them absolutely wrong, as if the very skill of interpretation is static and monochrome. If everyone understood that, I guarantee there would be way fewer condescending posts here on Tumblr, on Twitter and Tiktok.
That's it. I'm done talking, this will be my last post about it. I doubt anyone will change my mind on this, especially the last paragraph part, but feel free to share your opinion.

I still think it's a shame that we haven't had anything in the show related to johnny and miyagi emotionally -- what I mean by that is that, yes, we've had him mentioning larusso's sensei that beat him and his friends up (during his "daniel was the real bully" rewrite of events), and there was daniel in the training-bit that pointed out that miyagi was a badass who defeated kreese (was it in the training bit, I think so), but johnny had nothing really to say to that, and there's "no be there," which was framed as a joke (that's a whole other tangent)
off the top of my head -- which, it has been a few months since I've gone through the whole thing -- that's all we've had, but miyagi saved johnny's life, and I think that's worthy of writing something about. johnny is consistently derisive about miyagi-do, but quite apart from whether or not he thinks teen!daniel could defeat him at the all-valley, miyagi definitely got kreese without breaking a sweat, and johnny's ptsd-envisioned almost getting choked to death several times on this show, but it always ends before he gets rescued
idk, this is kind of not-fully-thought-out, but it's to do with the way that the show never fully completes the inwards spiral it was doing to bring johnny into the karate kid story (it may in s6... but since johnny's storyline is now "new baby out of nowhere, not at all related to any of his growth and certainly not carmen's" it's doubtful). s1 johnny is supposed to be abrasive and unwilling to have anything to do with miyagi-do (except for when he does, episode 9 my beloved), and then bit by bit he's being brought from his "side" of the narrative into daniel's narrative, which he merely played a part in initially (I say, as if I haven't read 100 fics in which he and daniel got it on at prom) and has been unwilling to see what that part entailed, because if they weren't equally matched nemeses and he did just beat him up several times because he didn't like him, then what does it mean that his father-figure tried to kill him for failing to beat him at a teen karate tournament?
they pay lip-service to some of that with the whole miyagi-fang + training montage bit, but of course s5 then does nothing with it, but what I mean is that if johnny really belonged in daniel's story - because this is the miyagi-verse, not the daniel or johnny verse - I really wanted him to acknowledge the role miyagi played in his life, and to be respectful of that. he's acknowledged that kreese was bad for him, and nearly killed him, but that's idk... the anger and betrayal part of it all. on the other side of that was daniel's mentor/father, a story which he didn't belong in (perhaps doesn't feel like he deserved to be in, cycle of abuse etcetc), but for a moment intersected with his, and now deliberately intersects with his, he wants to intersect with his, and miyagi's ghost hovers over all of it
it's unfortunate that they dragged johnny back to a safe place (for them), where his character development barely still applies, and it's probably-definitely to do with getting him away from daniel, so "not-talking-about-miyagi" isn't the highest on the list of things that has jarringly thrown johnny out of the main storyline and into his own weird stepford hellscape, but it's up there for me alongside "you're alright larusso," as the most puzzling omissions from the show, because it's... it's right there. the easiest character development in a show that's all about being incredibly on the nose with its arcs
once upon a time I thought "nah, they'll leave it for the end, because it's the perfect ending," but now we are... here. whatever end s5 was doing. and it's a little bit more *chuckles, you remember that johnny told daniel that he was alright and handed him the trophy right? you remember that miyagi stepped in to save johnny's life when he was a kid right? you remember that those were two significant scenes that happened... right?*
ah well vive le fanfiction, especially with this show 😂
TL;DR I think johnny saying a few words about miyagi (respectful ones, not s1 johnny ones) would bring johnny into the karate kid story properly, by acknowledging the role miyagi played in his life

I must say I enjoy your long trigun critiques and episode breakdowns, but I gotta interject that the statement about Stampede "-since we really don’t get that feeling that Vash sees all life as sacred." is objectively wrong. I watch frequent reaction videos from a variety of anime fans who've never seen the OG show. They immediately pick up on the abnormal amount of mercy Vash displays towards literally EVERYONE, no matter what they do. Saving Jeneora Rock despite their betrayal, immediately trying to save the nebraska's the second their life is in danger, then physically getting in between father nebraska trying to kill E.G. the Mine. How he says to Meryl's face that being known as a coward and his own personal pride aren't worth anyone dying. First time trigun fans are picking up on these facts, and already starting to theorize why he acts this way, how does it tie in to the small slice of his backstory we've been shown so far, which I'm sure will get elaborated eventually. You can like the campy 90's hero staring at the camera proclaiming "LOVE & PEACE!" because I do too! But it's also abundently clear he doesn't have to do that in Stampede, that aspect of his timeless persona is still making itself known even to people who are totally unfamiliar with Vash the Stampede as a character.
Hello there,
Sorry for the slow reply, I had hoped to get to it during the week but work was very busy and I had to kick this to the weekend. Having time to mull over your comments, I agree that the very over the top Vash in the '98 anime and early on in the manga really set the tone for how he behaves. And with that being our only version of Vash until Stampede - it does take a lot of effort to go past a reactive point that Vash seems overly passive. I see this version of Vash and immediately react that he's too passive b/c he isn't being very forward. Previous Vash, well he in part made it a big deal in part by being distracting to de-escalate situations. I feel there was real logic to that approach, but it required him to be incredibly assertive.
It may not be the reply that you are looking for, but I think I would have a better feel for Stampede Vash if the story had more time to breathe and more time for character development. Honestly, my biggest sticking point with this series is the pacing and the rapid storyline. We don't need filler but this does not allow for the characters to have any room to breathe nor is it set up for a character arc or growth.
You are correct that Stampede Vash does demonstrate his philosophy through his actions and that he does not want to cause harm, but compared to many other elements of the storytelling - and this is where I'm going to highlight this is how I feel about it, just me - I think they are being too subtle with Vash. That's totally my own opinion, but since I'm seeing him as too subtle in his actions it makes it harder for him to stand out above the chaos. Knives was brutal in episode three and the contrast with everyone else being quite brutal makes it hard to be subtle. It also does dive into the epic levels of Vash guilt from the get go, but I feel something is missing. I think it in part, it goes back to the lack of character internal thoughts/dialogue in this show. If Vash had a thought of "Okay, this man is dangerous, I need to move to x location." Or even if we got other characters thoughts about his behaviors. It really wouldn't hurt the overall story. I don't want 100% epic internal dialogue, but sometimes, good internal thoughts go a long way for the viewers. Especially, if the character is trying to play it cool or keep it professional. We only saw chatty diversion Vash in episode one and that was it.
I think the other aspect is the choice for Vash to be set up as a more subtle character for his actions, while most other characters are what I'd call overly aggressive or assertive. And that does create a contrast of Vash being different from them it, again, to me feels out of sync with the rest of the storytelling. Perhaps, my critiques will change if I give the series more time to slosh around in my brain. I've known the original Trigun for over twenty years and I've watched it at different points in my life so I can say I see it in very different lights. The most recent watch had me liking Meryl even more as an older professional and understanding why her character was pretty darn awesome in the original anime. In a way it is unfair to compare a form of media that I've know for over two decades with something new . . . but it is also the nature of the beast.
My biggest fear with this version and the brutally fast pace is when we finally get the flashback to Vash and Rem and whatever equivalent to her, "My ticket had a blank/empty/unknown destination." speech, it won't give us enough information for us to understand where Vash is coming from. Hopefully, they don't do that, but I'm not holding my breath here.
I think one of the other things is that even when a form of media gets really dark, humor injected into it helps step things back. I've briefly referred back to the live action series Black Sails, mainly as I used it to compare with the meh ending of the manga Golden Kamuy. But it in a way has a dark undertone throughout all four seasons and lots of things are very bad, but it still has small amounts of humor which are timed just right that you never feel like it has pulled you into the abyss or also how the characters know they are likely fucked, but a self-aware snarky remark goes to show that yeah, they know their situation is ironic or will invite trouble. This is something that I wish Stampede would do - I get the vibe that Studio Orange wants it to be 'serious' but even in real world serious situations, someone is gonna crack a dumb joke and people are gonna laugh - 'cause what else are you gonna do? Even the Trigun Maximum manga had hella dark and depressing scenes but Wolfwood is there being a ham - 'cause what else are you gonna do when you got shit options?
This sort of veered off course, but yeah. The struggle to see Trigun Stampede without a lot of baggage is difficult.

LOVE LOVE LOVE HOW UR BUILDING UP THE PLOT!!!!
Loved part 3 so much!!!!!! <333
I just hope you don’t rush with the story, you’re an amazing writer I am so impressed, I usually only see smut or the storyline doesn’t resonate or feels forced. The fact that for once you’re giving so much thought into this, you’re building the anticipation, you have gotten us rooting for the reader, even if you write 100 parts of the story I know it’ll all be amazing because you’re great at delivering !!
For a long time I was looking for a fic with Pedro x reader but writers only choose his characters from shows/movies. I wonder what made you think to start writing about him and not his characters?
Take care writer, you’re putting amazing work out here, we love uuuuu <3
🤍🩶🤍🩶🤍
thank you so much anon, your words are motivating and really sweet! ❤️💖
I don't think I'll rush any chapters I mean, all the chapters were absolutely not planned, I wrote Betrayed as an one shot but people got into it and asked for a part two, which brought a part three, then part four and five (that's being written right now) I have absolutely no idea how many chapters we still have ahead, I just hope I won't go into any writer's block because I'm really enjoying this story and the ideas come naturally and when they don't, I get lots of amazing anon suggestions to work on, so I feel really lucky, to see people are actually invested.
I'm happy you are enjoying it, when I write a story, I try to write something interesting it would catch my attention and I would read it if I someone else had written it, you know what I mean? And I've always loved angst with happy endings, but I like the build up more than the ending when it's done properly and I noticed there's a lot Pedro stories that are rushed to the happy ending, which I don't blame because honestly who wouldn't want to live happily ever after with that man lmao and he is all the time a ray of sunshine to reader which I also enjoy because it brings us comfort when we read it but I thought to myself: what if he is just a normal guy who screws up like everyone else and is too stubborn to admit it? And people enjoyed that portrait! And we all project ourselves into reader, just like I said in another ask, in my mind reader is me just like she is you when you reader and so on, so we honestly just root for ourselves to be strong enough to fend for ourselves no matter how hot Pedro is while breaking our heart 😂😂😂
And the main reason why I began writing about Pedro is because I got into him because of him and not his characters. I had never watched anything he was on and I always saw people gushing about him on Twitter but never got the fuss about it, until about a month or so when whenever I logged on Instagram random pictures or reels of him would show up in my suggestions. I would usually ignore them until I came across that one where he talks about how people usually pronounce 'Pedro' and then he tells the interviewer his full name, using his beautiful accent and as I study Spanish I just LOVED the sound of that. Then other videos of him would appear and I would send them to my friend who really loves him because it reminded me of her. So I went from this guy isn't that ugly to he's not ugly at all to holy shit he's very handsome.
But the cherry on top was about three weeks ago I was going through a rough time where my immune system wasn't great or whatever and I was constantly sick, I had been sick for over a month before that and each week I would have a different problem lol and that week i was again sick and it just drained me emotionally because i was feeling so weak and all the antibiotics I took made me feel physically bad as well and my work schedule was hectic as always, long story short I was a walking corpse that week until I began dreaming about him at night.
The first time I dreamed about Pedro, it was silly but also really sweet, I dreamed I was at the mall, running some errands and with my headphones on, then the song 'Otro día que va' by RBD began playing and I sang along to it and it caught his attention because it was in Spanish so he made small talk and we began chatting, then he invited me for lunch and it was adorable because it was kinda a lunch day. So when I woke up I felt so happy and comforted about the dream and the following nights I also dreamed about him, he was always so sweet in flirty in my dreams and we spoke a lot of Spanish that spiced up things a little bit lol and by the end of the week I already had a massive crush on him, lol
But I wrote for one of his characters: Javier Peña because he makes me feel things™ and I'll probably write more when inspiration comes, just like I'll probably write for Joel Miller in the future because he also makes me feel things™ but so far, my main focus is nuestro dulce pedrito porque lo amo 💖
Thanks a lot anon, your ask was amazing and don't forget the only reason I write it's because of you all and how amazing and support of my work you all are!
❤️❤️❤️

My GMMTV 2024 recap
A few hours before the event I was feeling pretty pessimistic but it turns out I got everything I could've asked for, which mostly refers to the GL series and TayNew. Something similar happened last year, so I realized if you give me my GL and Tay and New and a few interesting series I'll be ecstatic, I don't need anything else.
In order of how much I want to watch them:
On sale or Peaceful Property (I’m not sure which is the correct title): this is like Tha himself read my mind a made the perfect series for me. Crackhead role for New, my favourite for him, scary cat Tay, Jan and Mook which I love too, comedy, found family vibes. Woulnd’t change a thing, I don’t know if it’s BL or not but I don’t care. They also said the creators of The gifted will be working on it so I have faith it’ll be good at least.
Pluto: I would watch any GL crumbs GMMTV decides to give us but this is much more than that. Namtan and Film are a surprise couple, for me at least, but I like both so much, especially Namtan, and we have what looks like a solid plot and an interesting and mature story. Perfect for me again.
My Love Mix-Up: GeminiFourth are on it so I don’t need to elaborate much, it seems cute and I’m sure they’ll be great as always, like the director who is the same as MSP. Yes it’s a remake of a great series, do I care? No. Yes, they are almost the same characters as MSP, do I care? No. They could refilm MSP changing only the colour of their uniforms and I would watch it.
My Golden Blood: I’m still not sure we aren’t collectivelly hallucinating this series, never in my life would I have imagined something like this, but I’m 100% here for it. I actually really like Joss and Gawin both so let’s see what they come up with. Neo and Mond being part of the cast is the cherry on top.
Kidnap: I kinda love a forced cohabitation situation so I’m already sold. Ohm is great and I’m curious to see him with a new partner.
We Are: seems kinda fun and PondPhuwin and Marc make me want to watch it. Not the biggest WinnySatang fan but maybe they grow on me. I miss the time when we had 4 couples in a series like this and all had decent screen time, I hope this is something similar.
Ploy's Yearbook: girls cast, that’s enough to make me want to watch it, even if all of them have a love interest. Namtan, Aye, Film… No need to say more.
Wandee Goodday: like with My golden blood I’m here for the crack, I hope I don’t cringe too much.
The Trainee: OffGun, that’s it. I’ll watch anything. Seems fun, good cast, not that interesting storyline but we’ll see.
Enigma 2: I haven’t watched season 1 but I want to and season 2 looks even better.
My Precious: I’m going to watch it for Nanon and Film but I already know what happens in it, also I’m a bit tired of hearing about it year after year.
Summer Night: probably bad or very mediocre at least but yes I’ll be watching. Did the queerbait get to me? I’m not sure but maybe. I’m curious about it too, how Phuwin and Dunk act without their partners.
Only Boo: didn’t catch my attention but I’m not dismissing it yet.
Ossan's Love Thailand: haven’t seen the original, the original trailer didn't convince me and I’m a bit tired of Earth tbh. But my real first impression will be when I watch the trailer, we don’t even have a poster yet.
High School Frenemy: absolutely not.
This last one is the only one I’m definitely not watching, I’m overall pleased with the presentation and very excited for part 2 too. Some things I also wish for that maybe we can get in Part 2 are:
NeoMark series
Another GL

The Blue Brand Wrestling Blog #1
Wrestling News From This Past Weekend (WWE Payback, CM Punk & Tony Khan)
Hey there guys & girls,
I’m Andy Mac, AKA The Blue Brand owner and creator (@The_Blue_Brand) on X / Twitter. I thought I would delve into the world of blog writing and what better thing to write about than my favourite pastime Professional Wrestling.
I started watching WWF back in early 2000 around the time of the Royal Rumble. I was instantly hooked and became an avid fan of the great one, the brahma bull – The Rock! I was 100% invested in his battle with the Big Show around this time before heading towards WrestleMania 2000’s fatal four-way (McMahon in each corner) match against the champ Triple H, Mick Foley and The Big Show.
Since then, I’ve never looked back really, and I’ve been watching WWE for 23 years and counting. During this time, I’ve checked out TNA / Impact Wrestling, AEW and most recently Pro-Wrestling NOAH from Japan.
Anyway, maybe for a future blog I’ll write more about my introduction to the world of professional wrestling as a 9-year-old in the year 2000 and tell you who my favourites were. For now, I’m here to talk about this past weekend – 2nd & 3rd September and two stories I’ve decided to give my views on. Obviously, all opinions given are my own. Let’s get started –
Tumblr media
WWE Payback – Saturday 2nd September 2023.  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins (C) Vs Shinsuke Nakamura – Winner, Seth “Freakin” Rollins.
Match Length – 26:05.
I know most people coming out of this PLE are talking primarily about the women’s steel cage match between WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and “The Man” Becky Lynch. Don’t get me wrong, this match was great and deserves all the praise and plaudits that is currently receiving, but for me personally the main event was the highlight.
First of all, it was extremely refreshing to see a different main event match at a PLE that didn’t include Roman Reigns or the Bloodline. Of course, I’m a huge fan of this storyline and the journey we’ve all been on the past few years, but it was nice to explore and experience something different.
In the build up to this match we got to see a ruthless and more aggressive side of Nakamura that we haven’t seen in a very long time. On top of that on the night of the PLE the company released an awesome animated promo package with Nakamura narrating over the top of it about what he planned to do to Rollins in their match. Rollins sold this well during the match – I also enjoyed the personal touch with Nakamura taking aim at Rollins family in the build-up.
Both men made their way to the ring, went through the usual introductions before the match got underway. Heading in to this one I had put money on Nakamura winning, especially with The Great Muta being in attendance. But in the end after a match that lasted just over 25 minutes, Seth Rollins managed to get the win with a curb stomp. This match was refreshing in sense that we had a babyface champion defending his title successfully in the main event of a WWE PLE. I also loved the fact that the pacing of the match was really well laid out. The match was telling the story of an injured Seth Rollins dealing with severe back issues that had been highlighted in the lead up to this match – So naturally as any good heel should do, Nakamura attacked and went on the offence with strong moves on the champions back. I’ve got to also give Michael Cole and Corey Graves huge credit for really selling the severity of the back injury and the pain Seth Rollins was having to deal with. My only critique of this match was the actual end, it felt quite abrupt, not due to match length, but maybe I’ve become to accustomed to multiple kick outs from finisher after finisher in Roman Reigns and AEW main event matches.
Initially I was disappointed it also ended the way it did for Nakamura, a clean loss after being so savage before and during the match. But thankfully once the PLE went off air Nakamura assaulted Rollins on the ramp. This feud still has legs, Nakamura can be a whiny but savage heel who feels embarrassed losing this World Title match in front of The Great Muta.
Let’s see how this one plays out on Monday Night RAW tonight!
Tumblr media
Tony Khan and CM Punk – AEW Release CM Punk after (another) backstage fight
I’ll start this with Tony Khan – The list of job titles this man holds within the company alone should show why this doesn’t work. I know people will be quick to tell me The Elite are VP’s and have different roles within the company… But let’s face it, Tony holds all the real power and authority and he’s shown multiple times that he isn’t capable of being a strong leader or showing true authority to members of his roster who act out or behave unprofessionally. Let’s be honest, CM Punk should have been gone after the press conference and fight afterwards with The Elite last year, this all occurred after he defeated Jon Moxley for the AEW Championship at All Out 2022 last September. The fact Khan was willing to bring him back, basically create a whole new show for him and allow the carnage to continue and expected it to be smooth sailing says it all. What did he expect to happen? Can you imagine Vince McMahon allowing this to occur?
Now I’ll quickly discuss CM Punk – As I write this there are reports online about WWE actually being interested in CM Punk last year before WrestleMania. The idea of him returning at the Royal Rumble 2023 and being eliminated by Kevin Owens was proposed. This would supposedly lead to him facing Owens in the main event of WrestleMania night one. This apparently was actually considered by Vince McMahon and Triple H. These reports also note that Vince McMahon is open to Punk returning and Triple H would consider it, however he would want long-term story plans etc… in place. All of this makes sense if you consider Punk showed up at a Monday Night RAW earlier this year in the parking lot.
In conclusion, Tony Khan in my opinion needs to hire proper management that can be in between himself and the talent – Omega and The Young Bucks don’t count, sorry Tony. CM Punk, well, if he really does get one last chance with WWE, my advice would be –
Make a deal like Brock Lesnar / Goldberg – Work a set amount of dates, only work in the ring on PLE and have a set amount of TV appearances. Be a special attraction, be the star that you were between 2011 & 2014 in WWE.
Do as you’re told by Vince McMahon and Triple H – Learn from your mistakes in AEW. Yes, I blame Tony Khan for not being able to control his roster, but CM Punk also has to take responsibility for being a veteran who handles disagreements with fist fights. You can’t settle disagreements in this way in 2023.
I was a huge CM Punk fan back in his run with WWE, I couldn’t wait to see him in AEW. But due to a couple of fights and injuries, we were robbed of a full two year run and got a stop / start one year run. It’s a real shame, his career deserves to end better than this.
Anyway guys, I’ll stop rambling now. Thanks for reading if you managed to get through it all. I intend on trying to do between 2 to 3 of these posts per week as well as a few personal blogs and maybe even some gaming blogs (WWE 2K23 ‘My GM’ & TEW 2020 ‘Pro-Wrestling NOAH’ saves)
Please leave feedback, if it’s constructive then I’ll always appreciate it. I’m always happy to learn and to become better. Please keep it respectful though, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Take it easy guys,
Andy

Ok, I had my reservations but I actually don't mind the Judd/Wyatt storyline? Like first, I'm so glad they didn't have Judd try to hide any of this from Grace (I mean Judd "I love my wife" Ryder would never but still). She was in the know from the get go and was the one who got Wyatt's contact info.
And who knows? Maybe Grace and Judd decide not to have any more children. And this show isn't gonna last forever or long enough for us to see Charlie in her teens (unless they do a time skip or two). So, this would still be a chance for us to see them parent an older kid while also seeing them raise a newborn, infant, toddler, and so forth. Surely, it's gonna be a helluva challenge learning how to parent for two different kids at different stages in their life while just being new parents in general.
Also very much want to point out and appreciate how they let Grace's emotions just be REAL. Like she said, she knew it wasn't "fair." She knew the feelings she was feeling were confusing. She knew that Judd having a child before they met and before they had Charlie doesn't take away from the family he has now. But it was still upsetting. To believe that you had given the love of your life his first child, only to just soon after, find out that that wasn't the case. And yes, it's kind of irrational when you look back on it, but it shouldn't and doesn't invalidate her feelings. It's a lot to process.
It just goes to speak on the strong foundation of their marriage for Grace to have no problem articulating/communicating her anger to him. It's why I have no doubt that this will not be a significant obstacle in their marriage. That and the fact that we see Judd ruminating over how best to navigate this whole situation without hurting anyone in the process. And of course, like the angel she is, Grace comes back in stride and makes sure that Judd knows that she's in this with him 100%. And her inviting Wyatt's mom for dinner so they can all talk was her taking the steps to show that she was on his team and that they would be on this journey together as a united front. ✨

I Don't Wanna Be Unfair | 01
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi! Back on my bullshit with another fic. I'm not even particularly sure where this came from, but the inspiration hit and I just let it ride tbh. I've never written for SOA before so this is a first for me. Also, I'll make better graphics when I get the time lol.
Pairing: Jax Teller x OC (McKenzie Gilbert)
Summary/synopsis: Fresh off a broken engagement, McKenzie Gilbert has a one night stand with a random guy she never plans to see again. Soon after, their paths cross, which complicates several situations at hand.
Chapter warning(s): language, sexual content (yup in the first chapter)
WC: ~6.5K
“Want another one?”
McKenzie looked up and was met with pitying eyes from the bartender. He glanced down at her empty shot glass before peering back up at her, awaiting a response. She pondered for a moment as to whether another shot was a good idea, but ultimately decided fuck it before nodding her head.
Her second thoughts dissipated as she realized she wasn’t even particularly drunk. Not even all that tipsy. She’d been sitting here long enough that the alcohol previously consumed had already osmosed. Part of her was upset because it had been her every intention of getting plastered tonight, but then again, he wasn’t worth that. He wasn’t worth destroying her liver anymore than necessary.
The bartender, having a general sketch of most people’s mindsets and reasons for coming into bars, knew she was obviously not having a good time right now. He stood there for a moment and decided to put on his therapist hat, “You alright, chica? Anything else I can get you?”
Before she could answer, he had provided her with a glass of water and another shot.
“I’m good, thanks.” She replied. It took a lot of effort to gather a smile, but she gave him a small one, appreciating his thought to check in on her.
“Well… if you wanna talk about it, I’m a professional listener, too. Sort of a hidden skill as a bartender.”
“Thanks, but I’m not really in the talking mood right now. I’ll take one more shot though.” McKenzie kept her voice level, holding back the snark she wanted to release. He was just being nice and doing his job, but she really didn’t want to be bothered. Thankfully, he took the hint and walked away to tend to other customers after refilling her glass.
She kept the shot glass on the counter, not jumping to knock it back yet. She meant it, she wasn’t getting drunk tonight over him. Even if this wasn’t the life she imagined for herself as of now. Even though she no longer had any direction or destination in mind for where she would go from here.
Marriage wasn’t particularly something she envisioned for herself, but when the opportunity came, she said yes to the man who proposed to her. And she was excited. Excited at the prospect of being someone’s wife. Having a husband. Planning a wedding, a day of celebrating with everyone you love in one room. She thought she met someone who was worthy of sharing such a day with her. She just knew that man loved her. His words and the ring that used to rest on her left ring finger solidified that in her mind. And now everything she believed to be true was no longer so.
Only a couple of hours ago, she’d been happily engaged. Only a couple of hours ago, she proudly wore the round cut diamond ring that proclaimed to everyone that she was betrothed. And now, here she sat with all of that nothing more than a lost dream, a broken ending. All the promises and plans and wishes had gone down the drain, her forever ending going with it.
The only thing more potent than her heartbreak right now was the anger that arose every time she thought about how she had been dragged along for almost five years, with a man who never wanted any of the things she did.
Confusion was a top three contender. Because she wondered how she missed the signs. How she hadn’t figured out beforehand that he never wanted her to be his wife. How she could have possibly messed this up. They were nowhere near perfect, God knows, but she never felt like it was too much to the point that it couldn’t be fixed. That they couldn’t work through it together. Yes, she was incredibly stubborn, and yes, he could be particularly arrogant, but…. they were in love. And that should have been enough, right? Unless it wasn’t. Or unless he really didn’t love her. Which was so obviously the case, but how long had it been like that? How long had it been when he fell out of love with her? Was he ever?
Confusion rose in rank as to what she was feeling. More questions arose the longer she sat there, reflecting over her now broken engagement. Was this something he’d been thinking about for a long time? Or was it sudden, a split decision? She thought back to his behavior these past few months: he’d been coming home later (or sometimes not at all), he was more distant than usual, they were arguing more. The feeling that maybe he’d been seeking comfort in the arms of another woman floated through her mind more than once during this time, and she even gathered the courage to ask him straight up if he had. But he said no and so she believed him. He said “I love you” and so she believed him. Because if she didn’t, that would give credence to the little voice in the back of her head that told her that something was off.
And here she was in this random bar in the middle of nowhere, hating herself for not listening.
And with that, she picked up the shot and knocked it back. She deserved the burning sensation in the back of her throat. A punishment for her asininity. And also a distraction from her aching.
Tomorrow, she would have to go to the clubhouse and face him. She would have to keep her head high because she’d be damned if she let anyone see her fall apart. She also couldn’t give him the satisfaction. She’d walk in tomorrow and pretend that her heart hadn’t been ripped from its chest.
But for tonight, she didn’t want to think about any of that. Tonight needed to be a night for distraction and self-indulgence.
Because no matter how much she wished she would never see him again, she couldn’t do that. He was a part of her world and he wasn’t going anywhere. And she knew he wasn’t so she had no choice but to face it. And she would face it with as much gracefulness and strength she could muster because anything less was unacceptable to her.
But for tonight at least, she could abandon all of that. She purposefully avoided having drinks at the clubhouse bar, not wanting to encounter him or anyone else for the time being. That’s why she drove out on the skirts of town to find this place, a bar on neutral ground without any club affiliations. She also didn’t want to have a peek at him taking home another woman or better yet, simply taking a woman right there at the club. She couldn’t even stand the thought, quickly whishing the visual from her mind. And that was confirmation right there that she made the right decision, because she surely wouldn’t have been able to control her emotions had she seen it in real time, in person. Maybe their engagement hadn’t even stopped him from doing just that in the past, but either way, it was now moot. She didn’t want any part in witnessing the sight.
There were loud cheers down the bar that jolted McKenzie from her thoughts. She rolled her eyes when she found the source, seeing a bunch of frat guys on winter break, partake in a beer chugging contest. The time she spent in her head left her just now noticing that the bar had gotten more crowded. A basketball game played on the screen, a group of girlfriends were having a girl’s night out, and a few dates were canoodled together in booths. She would probably barely hear her own voice if she were to start speaking right now with all the buzz and liveliness around her. And she definitely didn’t hear the bar door opening or the sound of footsteps that stopped until they were right beside her.
She only noticed when the bartender reappeared to serve the new patron, “Hey, what can I get you, man?”
To her left, was an unfamiliar blonde, waiting at the counter. He had on a black hoodie with his hood on his head, though his gelled back blonde hair peeked a little outside of it. His face wore a laidback smirk on his face as he greeted the bartender. When the bartender turned his back to get him his drink though, the smirk on the blonde had faded some and a bit of weariness colored his features. It was only a few seconds and the careless demeanor returned as he was handed a glass of whiskey. He turned to leave his spot and glanced McKenzie's way as he backed up some. He flashed her a flirtatious smile and wink before he continued on his way, walking towards the back of the bar.
Over the next hour or so, she broke herself out of her mind and just sat and watched all around her. There weren’t a lot of moments where she could sit and just be. It was a privilege she didn’t get to indulge in a lot of the time. Between her job as a paramedic and being involved in what was technically a crime syndicate, relaxation wasn’t usually afforded to her. And so she sipped on her water and just observed. She didn’t want to invite attention to herself by looking at anyone too hard or too long, but her eyes couldn’t help but bounce back to that mystery blonde every so often.

My #1 post of 2022
I'll Be Seeing You
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kevin Atwater x Fire!Reader (I hate writing Y/N so reader has a last name "Dubois" courtesy of @ginghampearlsnsweettea)
Inspiration: Kevin being Kevin (Also the "I'll be seeing you" thing between Peyton and Lucas from One Tree Hill), also the lack of Kev fics is simply blasphemous
Summary: Kev doesn't like you walking home by yourself
WC: ~1.3K Warning(s): unedited because I like my work a lil rough 'round the edges, slight sexual tension?
It felt like the night had been dragging on. You’d been having fun, sure, but you felt drained from all the energy spent dancing, talking, and drinking. It was also the end of the day, or more like, the early hours of a brand new day. The festivities celebrating Stella’s promotion were still going on, but you could feel the exhaustion wearing down in your bones. It took you a few seconds to even gather enough vigor to rise from the bar stool and begin making your goodbye rounds with everyone.
You caught Kevin’s eye as you began walking towards the door and so you made a quick detour to where he was sitting. The two of you had always been friendly with each other, whether it be during the times you interacted at work or whenever you ran into each other here at Molly’s. You saw him when he had first come in with Ruzek and Burgess, but now he was sitting all alone with Burgess gone for the night and Ruzek grabbing another drink at the bar.
“Heading home already?” He asked as he saw your crossbody around your frame.
“It’s one a.m.” you defended.
Kevin chuckled, “Didn’t take you for a girl scout, Dubois.”
He accepted the playful swat you gave him on his shoulder while feigning hurt.
“You called an Uber?”
“Nah, I only live down the street.”
Kevin frowned, “Sooo, you’re gonna walk?”
You shrugged, “Yeah, my feet ain’t broke. I always walk when I know I’m gonna be drinking here. No use in driving my car for like two blocks.”
Kevin shook his head in a playful admonishment, “You a first responder, you s’posed to know better.”
He downed the rest of his drink and stood up from his seat. You looked at his empty beer bottle and gave him a pointed glare. It, for sure, wasn’t the first drink he had had tonight. He caught the glare and put his hands up in defense, “What?”
“You a first responder, you s’posed to know better,” you threw back at him, “I know you don’t think I’m about to get in your car when you’ve probably had just as much tonight as I’ve had. And don’t even bring up our difference in size before I make Ruz come over here with a Breathalyzer.”
“Okay, okay, Miss Smarty. And what if I was about to offer to walk you home? Then what, huh?”
You couldn’t help but look away with a smirk at his retort, not realizing that’s where he was going with this. His close proximity to you didn’t help matters as your face warmed up.
“Ah ha! That’s what I thought.”  He grabbed his jacket and put it on, “Let me go holla at Ruzek and I’ll take you home.”
You weren’t even given the chance to decline the kind offer before he was off saying goodnight to his partner. You gave a final wave and congratulatory air kiss to Stella before heading to wait towards the door. You heard Sylvie yell a “text me when you get home!” and you smiled and saluted in acknowledgement of the request.
A second later, Kevin had joined you and reached over your head to hold the door open for you to exit. He made a show of silently gesturing “after you” with his hands before following you out into the Chicago night air. He draped one of his shoulders around you and your cheeks warmed as you realized this was the first time that the two of you had touched in this manner. A shake of the hand here, a tap on the shoulder there, but never had either of you been in as close of an embrace as this. Maybe his meager drunkenness had caused him to be a little touchier than normal. And maybe your stupor had given you the comfort to lean into his arm. Either way, you both comfortably walked the path to your place with his arm still around you.
“Seriously, though, you shouldn’t be walking home by yourself. Especially while drunk.”
“Well, to be fair, I’m not always drunk. Sometimes, I’m working shifts and obviously I’m not drinking on the job.”
Even though you were part-owner and didn’t necessarily need the extra cash, sometimes you just enjoyed serving drinks around the establishment and having fun with everyone.
“Still, D.” He wrapped his arm tighter around you as he belabored his point. Your heart skipped at the motion to the point where you shivered a little at his touch. Taking the gesture as if you were cold, he wordlessly walked behind you and leaned both of his arms around you in the attempts of gathering warmth for you.
You grinned at the gesture and allowed your head to lean into his embrace as you two continued walking. The smell of his cologne doused your senses and you wondered if there was a better sensation than what you were currently experiencing.
“Thank you,” you finally said after several minutes of silence.
“For what?”

Our Skyy2 and My Rating
Little Disclaimer: I haven’t watched Vice Versa nor A Tale of Thousand Stars
1. A Boss and A Babe
I know this is an unpopular opinion and I am probably the only one who would put this to the top, but I realllyyy enjoyed their episodes. It was funny, it was cheesy, it was great. I liked how the issue was external so that we had them both working with each other to grow as people and I also liked how we got a glimpse on how great they are post canon. They were the healthiest couple. 10/10 would rewatch
2. The Eclipse
apart from the fact that I am completely biased about them Everyone will agree with me when I say that they had the most realistic portrayal as a couple. Did I like the little "how could you forget my birthday" plotline? Not really, but I was 100% sure that Aye was just pretending, so it wasn't that angsty for me anyway. I simply enjoyed seeing them on my screen again. ~ kissy kissy chu chu~ 9/10
3. Never Let Me Go
I think we can all agree that their plot was the best. It was totally unique and kind of unbelievable, but man, I was totally into it. I love seeing a pair team up to tackle a problem, and this one had just the right mix of drama, humor, and romance. It was everything I could ask for. Again I like to see a pair working together to solve a problem. 8/10
4. Bad Buddy x A Tale of Thousand Stars
I was soooo unsure about this, but you know what? I ended up enjoying it way more than I expected, even though I didn't really know the chief and the teacher. Bad buddy holds a special place in my heart, so I was just stoked to see them again. It was kinda sad though, 'cause most of the time in the village they didn't feel like a couple to me, more like BFFs. And they spent way too much time apart, which was a bummer. But even without having seen ATOTS, I gotta say their storyline and chemistry were on point. Their scenes got sooo romantic towards the end, it actually got me emotional, despite not knowing them at all. ATOTS kinda overshadowed BB for me for the romantic aspect. 7/10
5. Star in my Mind // My School President
I found both plots to be very lacking. MSP got me very excited the very first few mins as I got to relieve some great moments but then I quickly became bored again. There were some changes but I wasn’t really invested in it. I think I would have preferred a post canon story of their university lives or something similar. Also, I think I am getting really critical here but Fourth as Tinn wasn’t really believable while Gemini actually did a great job in my opinion, nevertheless I found them in their respective roles much better. I would have spend the time rewatching MSP rather than the OS2 episodes as we don’t really miss out on anything anyway.
SIMM was actually just a fluff party. The plot was nonexistent but they were cute enough. I am questioning their chemistry though and I was not doing this while watching the actual show, so I guess it did some damage to me regarding the characters. 5/10

13.  The Avalance-Baby (Legends of Tomorrow)
Tumblr media
We kind of got a glimps into things to come in Season 7 with Sara and Ava being made aware of their future daughter, which gave them the idea of wanting to become parents in the first place (time-wimey-paradoxy things going on here again). However their plans of having Ava carring their baby to term after finding a sperm doner went array, when they found out that thanks to Alien DNA Sara already was pregnant, by none other than Ava.
Which is the last thing we ever heard of that particular storyline, since there was not a single word about it in the „Earth Prime“-Comic. (Probably because it was a late addition or because they did not want to spoil it in case the book would be published before the last episode of the season aired). So while we know that Sara somewhen got out of Time Prison, we have no clue what happend to Ava or the baby or if the baby was even ever born.
The pregnancy would of course had been a major storypoint of Season 8, but since the show was not renewed Caity’s joke of being pregnant forever became the sad truth. We will never see the baby being born or learn if it is even the same child we saw in Season 7. We will never learn if and when Avalance setteled down and how they built their little family. Because we don’t desereve a Final Season or even a Special or anything else that finishes telling Sara Lance’s story according to everyone, who has the power to tell us the end of this story.

dkaljds; okay here are my feels about this show i really fucking love.  i have to go watch top chef
here’s something to know about me:  i never expect a second season of any show (unless the first season was like.. real fucking bad) to ever be as good as the first season.  especially if that show had as nearly flawless of a first season as hacks did.  no follow-up is ever as good as that first hit ya kno
that said, i think we all know there were some serious flaws with season two.  aimless storylines, sidelined characters (uh hi marcus so sry what happened to you this season), that cr*ise episode like woof yall cmon hire a lesbian i beg you
i didn’t like some of the things they did with deborah’s character and her choices.  she just seemed excessively mean to me at times (which like yeah i know i write her super soft whateverrr its a fault of my personality) but it just didn’t seem to vibe with the character they presented in s1 who we were supposed to be rooting for (as @mollrat101has explained much more eloquently than me already please go read all their shit).  i do think it got much better in the back half of the season but still.  it was just choppy and lacked the depth and emotional punch that s1 had
but i still laughed out loud every episode.  and my heart would race and i’d hold my breath when they were in scenes together.  obvi hannah and jean’s chemistry just carries everything about the show.  but also the production was so gorgeous and the attention to detail just as good as s1.  like damn
also hannah was a fuuuuucking star.  i loved when she told deborah “we fucking did it” in the finale because yeah i felt that.  we did do it.
we got that pool scene and the balcony scene.  literal fanfic shit like 100% convinced the writing team was reading our fic (rip us omfg)
basically my takeaways from this show are these two women found a partnership and a shared sense of humor... a love language.  creatively, they thrive together (ty s2 for delivering another creative avadeb montage it was heart eyes i hope @trying-to-get-somewhere-real reblogs it every monday until next season).  they take chances for each other, they trust each other, they snap at each other, they forgive each other.  they keep coming back to each other.  so i do fucking hope we have a season three and its them BOTH realizing how much better their lives are when they’re together and they live happily ever after splitting time between the mansions deborah gets late night ava is head writer the end
(catch me crying at ava watching qvc just to see deb)

Since you're re-watching scoy could you tell me whether the characters have preference in bed or they are versatile?
Holy shit I got an ask!!!!!!!!!! This is so cool!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
Okay so I’m gonna assume you’re talking in terms of tops and bottoms? If so, I’ll go in order of the ships since that’s prolly easiest. Stream of consciousness psychobabble activate!
Nuea is definitely top with him and Toh. We all saw that one time Toh tried to top and it was comically bad. I feel like, if Nuea thought Toh really wanted to top him, he’d be fine with it but it really feels like their natural instincts lean towards NueaToh as opposed to TohNuea.
SkyJao is SkyJao is SkyJao. Lol now 100% if Sky thought Jao had any interest whatsoever in topping him, he’d be all about it in a heartbeat because whatever Jao wants, Sky will move heaven and earth to accomplish it. But for my own personal headcanon, I see Jao as more on the ace side of things and I just don’t see him as having much interest in sex before Sky came along. Even after my rewatch, these two remain my favorite pairing of the show.
FonKongkwan, from what we see of their relationship, I feel like they’re really our only truly verse couple. We see moments of them both being more dominant at times, it just depends on their moods. I always remember, thinking back on the first time I watched the series, being very excited to see them being so affectionate with each other but also leery because I wasn’t sure if the show was gonna chicken out on a wlw relationship and pull a whole “just gals being pals” storyline with them. As the show went on of course, I didn’t worry as much anymore. It also made me stupid happy with Freen and Becky went on to star in The Gap. So yeah, FonKongkwan or KongkwanFon, those girls are verse.
Daisy and Intouch, we were fucking robbed!!!! Robbed I tell!!!! Because we don’t really get to see a lot of their relationship as it starts and blossoms, I’m going purely on headcanon here that’s based in their show interactions. Kind of along the same lines as Sky and Jao, Intouch is definitely the top but he’s so enamored with Daisy that if she ever wanted to try topping he’d definitely be up for it. I fucking love Daisy so much and the fact that we don’t get more of their relationship in the show is a CRIME and I’m only placated with the fact that Nutt and Opp still seem pretty close on social media. Once Opp debuted with his group, I half expected their interactions to fizzle out but it hasn’t yet.
Okay so Som and Tor, we barely get any scenes of them together so I’m going purely off of my love for Som. She exudes top energy for days, she the only fucking dominant personality in that friend group (the only exception being Daisy but even then, not over Som), and she could and would have Tor eating out of the palm of her hands. Their ship in the show felt like the writers legit forgot about her character when they were pairing people up and just threw Tor at her from across the room like “here’s our obligatory hetero dude, will he do?” And Som, being the absolute Queen she is, was like “sure, if he can keep up.” This is all fucking headcanon of course because they might have like two scenes together, I’m basing this purely on Som’s personality. Som is the top. Regardless of positioning, Som is the top.
Holy shit thank you so much!!!! I never get asks and this was so much fun Anon!!!

COBRA KAI S5 REVIEW (SPOILERS)
I might make a video about this cause I feel like I won't be able to fully get my point across in a text post.
Anyway, overall season 5 was really good and probably my favorite season in terms of storylines/character arcs. My top 5 characters this season is Daniel, Miguel, Sam, Tory, and Chozen.
I absolutely love how much they delved into trauma this season. It's honestly what I've been wanting from this show for so long. And I know every season has some form of exploration of trauma but this season really put it up to 100%. I seriously want to make a post or a video delving into the traumas of all these amazing characters and the psychological scars that these traumas left them. I think it would be really interesting for me to really dig deep into that.
My favorite story arc is between Miguel's and Daniel's. It broke my heart to see Miguel sorta idolize his bio dad only to have it be crushed with reality. It hurt to see how much he wanted his bio dad to want him. But what really brought me to tears was seeing his relief when he saw Johnny. I think he realized at that moment just how important Johnny is to him and how he doesn't need his bio dad because Johnny is there for him. Daniel's story arc also broke me because I genuinely felt his fear. I could see it in his face that he felt like that vulnerable teenage boy again whenever Silver was around. I hated seeing him so distressed but it honestly goes to show just how badly Silver traumatized him (and continues to traumatize him). I absolutely love the realization Amanda had about Daniel saying that he never really got over his past traumas. It goes to show just how much Daniel pushed his traumas away instead of properly dealing with them.
I also loved the Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen trio. The chemistry between them was unreal. I love how feral Chozen and Johnny are in regards to Daniel. Like they really went from teenagers hating on this bambi looking motherfucker to fawning over him in their 50's lol. I loved seeing them protect Daniel from Mike Barnes in the season finale. Seriously, I never thought I would hear Johnny telling someone to get their hands off of Daniel. I love how both Daniel and Johnny have protected each other from other people. Really goes to show how much their relationship has grown.
Carmen's friendship with Amanda is my favorite thing ever and I wish they had more scenes together. I seriously hate that they made Carmen get pregnant like are we being for real right now? Like yeah she's still young enough to have kids but Johnny is in like his mid-50's why are we giving him a new-born child??? :| Like maybe let's give Carmen an actual good story line for once. It would've been so interesting to see her reunite with Miguel's biological father and I would've done anything to see her protect Miguel from him. As well as Rosa, I bet she would've demolished him in like a minute. But yeah, I swear Carmen only seems like a real person when she's with Amanda. When she's with Johnny, she just seems like a two-dimensional love interest. I think the show would've really benefited from having her and Johnny be friends. Like the type of friends that feel like siblings. In that way, Johnny can still be protective over her and realize that he doesn't have to sleep with/be in a relationship with every woman he comes in contact with. And Carmen can have someone else's support. (It would've also been interesting to see her trust/relationship with men change as she got close with Johnny). But no, a boring ass relationship it is, I guess.
Terry was an amazing villain as always. There were so many times where I wanted to jump into the screen and stab him and other times where I couldn't help but applaud how intelligent he is. However, he truly underestimates people. It is so interesting to see how different he and Kreese really are cause Kreese seems to see value in everyone. Kreese seems to have a pattern of finding the most vulnerable/weak person in the room and making them into something. Whereas Silver seems to just throw money around and hope for the best. Other than maybe Kenny, Silver often times wants people to be his idea of perfect from the very beginning instead of building the weakest person up. Or at least, show the capability of being "perfect." It really shows how your upbringing shapes you. I really love how the finale switched their places with Kreese being out of prison and Silver having been arrested. I highly doubt this will be the end of Silver, since he and Kreese have yet to reunite. I am literally dying to see their reunion.
Sam and Tory helping each other out in the end makes me so happy. I was seriously hoping they would hash things out this season and they did. I really do hope it stays that way. I can see them forming a hesitant friendship in season 6 where they talk about Miguel and Robby and possibly their home life. I don't think they'll end up best friends but I can definitely see them being each other's key to healing their traumas.
Overall, I loved this season and I can't wait to see what happens next. If I were to give it a rating, it would be a 8 out of 10. Two points deducted because of that annoying ass pregnancy story line.

this is THE best backstory ive ever read. and not just the story but the way you tell it specifically. and i dont think anything in the chapter was too much, its exactly what we were ready for when we started reading this fic!
hongjoongs obsession to y/n originally being to her mother was the biggest plot twist ever. makes it all the more creepy and haunted like holy shit youre a genius.
also why me being disappointed when i read that its because of her morher and not just her herself, like WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE FAITH IN FICTIONAL PSYCHOPATHS 😭 LIKE SOME SICK PART OF ME WAS WAITING FOR A ROMANTIC REASON?? its like the more insane the character the more faith i have in them, SHOULD I BE WORRIED LIKE DID I DISCOVER A NEW MENTAL ILLNESS OF MINE OR SOME SHIT??
this chapter also made me cry multiple times in a completely different way than anything ive ever read. normally if i cry its because i find it sad and feel sympathy for the character(s), but here i cried because i felt her emotions as if they were my own. never experienced something like this, thats how amazing of a writer you are. truly.
this is also the best balancing ive seen with the amount we see of each of the boys in a ot8 fic. its really difficult having eight (nine with y/n) main characters without any of them slipping into the side character category at all.
last but not least, jongho my bb i really tried keeping the halo on top of your head but BRO RLY SMILED BEFORE HE TURNED/KILLED HER 😭 dont know whether to laugh or cry abshkdn. also my faith in seonghwa *may* be too strong especially after seeing your ranking of their evilness,,,,
thank you sooooo much 🥹 i was nervous to post this, though it is significant in the storyline overall the nerves got the best of me especially since it took 1.5 months to write 👹 but your ask as well as other reactions make me eee!!! 🥹 hjs obsession with her mom definitely 😭 has twisted out of control and is 100% creepy FIHG8YVIHIHV UR MAKING ME LAUGJOHVYVIIHVIHV unfortunately he is very </3 not ok.... and tysm for mentioning my character moment distribution!! I try my best to give equal time to each character since it is ot8, and honestly it is hard to balance it but I'm happy for that compliment ☺️ VJOY7C9VH9VU9VU YEA. JONGHO IS. SOMETHING ELSE 😭 TY FOR THIS ASK I TEARED UP WHEN I SAW HOW LONG AND THOROUGH IT IS!!!
