Must Read Drarry fics
A compilation of the crème de la crème Drarry, all the fics that I always go back to when I want to immerse myself in the Harry Potter universe. In no particular order.
Azoth by zeitgeistic 88k
Now that Harry is back at Hogwarts with Hermione for eighth year, he realises that something’s missing from his life, and it either has to do with Ron, his boggart, Snape, or Malfoy. Furthermore, what, exactly, does it mean when one’s life is defined by the desire to simultaneously impress and annoy a portrait? Harry has no idea; he’s too busy trying not to be in love with Malfoy to care.
Right Hand Red by lq_traintracks (lumosed_quill) 73k
Harry felt Malfoy's breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory.  Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy. Malfoy felt inevitable.
All Our Secrets Laid Bare by firethesound 149k
Over the six years Draco Malfoy has been an Auror, four of his partners have turned up dead. Harry Potter is assigned as his newest partner to investigate just what is going on.
Stately Homes of Wiltshire by waspabi 57k
Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.
Mental by sara_holmes 186k
Harry has had quite enough of sharing his mind with someone else, thankyouverymuch. A miscast Legilimecy spell says otherwise.
Temptation on the Warfront by alizarincrims0n 180k
Draco Malfoy is forced into hiding with the Golden Trio and dragged into their search for horcruxes. What ensues is a journey of redemption, unexpected friendships and an unwanted, turbulent romance with Harry Potter. Warnings for swearing, sexual content, and dark themes.
Diffraction Patterns (I Don't Know How to Forget You) by yourdifferentoctober 93k
When Harry Potter, of all people, offers to help Draco erase his Dark Mark, he has no choice but to accept. He wants it gone. He wants to forget. He wants to reconstitute the past. Never mind that erasures leave real marks on bodies, real traces on the world in its becoming. This is not how he expected his eighth year to go.
Tell Me a Secret by alexmeg 86k
In which the bond is rooted in their emotions, everything goes even more wrong, and Harry is certain that he and Draco could never feel what the curse wants them to feel for each other. Until Harry does.
The Ordeal of Being Known by louisfake 146k
When Auror Potter is anonymously cursed with silence by being forced to hide his own voice inside his mind, there's unfortunately only one person in the country with the qualifications to fix it: Certified and Licensed Healer Legilimens, Draco Malfoy, specialist in Mind Curses and Afflictions. It's obviously a terrible idea, a disaster waiting to happen, but Draco's never been able to back down from a challenge... especially from Potter.
Freedom to be by Quicksilvermaid 169k
Harry Potter is the Boy Who Lived. 12 years after the war, he's become the Boy Who Lived For Everyone Else. He has the perfect wife. The perfect house. The perfect job. The perfect friends. Only nothing feels perfect. Until one day he stumbles across a club called Release and begins a journey of self-discovery that takes him to a very different place.
Grounds for Divorce by Tepre 122k
Malfoy finds a coin. Harry finds a letter. A story about histories, a story about families. A story about a lemon tree somewhere in Upper Egypt.
The Claiming of Grimmauld Place by bixgirl1 74k
When Grimmauld Place begins fighting against Harry’s ownership of it, he decides he needs help to train the historic home — but little does he expect that it’ll be Malfoy who’s most suitable for the challenge. However, as Malfoy and Harry get closer, Harry comes to understand that expectations aren’t always the best path by which to guide his heart — and in the process learns just what is needed to make a house a home.
Lumos by birdsofshore 41k
Harry never expected to spend eighth year listening to Draco Malfoy wanking.
9 ½ Days by magpie_fngrl 69k
After the events at the Manor, Harry and Draco find themselves stranded in the countryside with a broken wand and Death Eaters on their tail. This is the story of an uneasy truce, featuring faerie forests, seaside caves, Romani camps, kind old ladies, and a shared bed in an attic. Or how two boys fell in love in the midst of a bloody coup.
The Sleeping Beauty Curse by who_la_hoop 152k
When Draco Malfoy falls into a cursed sleep and can only be woken – at least, according to the Daily Prophet, that impeccable source of truth – by ‘true love’s kiss’, Harry Potter knows there’s no way on earth he’s the answer to this particular riddle. Is he . . . ?
The Nightmare Club by Elle Gray (Elle_Gray) 85k
Hermione and Ron are going back to Hogwarts to do N.E.W.T.s, Ginny isn't. Harry hasn't decided, until he has, in front of the Wizengamot and now he's responsible for Malfoy as well. A tale of enemies who learn to get along, get it wrong and get it on. Everything is purple, some things are on fire and no-one is sleeping properly. But don't worry, there's tea!
That Old Black Magic by bixgirl1 77k
Centuries ago, marriage contracts were the norm — ready-made alliances between families, expected and complied with, without complaint. But norms have a way of changing, and when a long-dormant contract flares to life, Harry has to navigate an unexpected splintering of the path he'd thought would be easy after the war... with Draco Malfoy.
Tales from the Special Branch by Femme (femmequixotic) 257k
Three months after their brief encounter, Draco has almost forgotten about Potter--or so he tells himself. Then a Dark wizard shows up on the Auror radar and all hell breaks loose. Draco will have to choose between everything he holds dear--everything he's worked so hard for--and a few stolen moments of passion with a certain green-eyed Inspector, once his sworn enemy and now something rather different entirely. He'll make the right choice, won't he? Who is he kidding? He'll ruin everything, as per usual. Bad choices and the name Malfoy go hand in hand.
Men Who Love Dragons Too Much by fencer_x 522k
‘Kill Albus Dumbledore’ is less a challenging task and more a suicide mission, so when Draco Malfoy is presented with the option to either dispatch his Headmaster or suffer an excruciating and most ignominious death of his own, along with his parents, he reaches deep into his black little Slytherin heart and manages to scrape together enough courage to go with option C instead: Spend Sixth Year secretly studying Animagecraft in the hopes he’ll turn into something sufficiently imposing even the Dark Lord himself won’t be able to keep Draco under his thumb. But just his luck, his Animagus form turns out to be a dragon, and a rather randy juvenile at that, intent on finding its mate: one Harry James Potter.

CPS (Child Protective Services) but instead it’s DCPS (Demon Child Protective Services).
I think it's a typical day, and each brother is doing their own thing. Satan and Belphie are trying to play pranks on Lucifer, but they are mostly causing damage to the house. Lucifer hung Mammon from the ceiling and is lecturing him about his spending habits because he thought buying a bunch of cheap products and selling them 10x the price would make him money. Beelzebub is raiding the fridge and any food in sight, and Asmo is attempting to do Mammon's nails.
The doorbell rings, and Lucifer leaves to get it, but Satan and Belphie decided to have some fun by throwing some curses at Mammon. When Lucifer answers the door, he finds a demon lady who says she works for DCPS, as he lets her in, they hear screams. As they progress farther inside the house, the lady gasps. She watches Mammon screaming and flailing around as the room erupts in flames, and Satan yells at Belphie for miscasting the spell while attempting to extinguish the fire. While Asmo and Belphie strive to bring Mammon down, they keep failing because he won't stop moving.
The demon lady from DCPS watches the pandemonium unfold before them with horror and disbelief. Despite the chaos, Lucifer approaches her to speak.
"Ah, Miss...?" Lucifer begins by striving to gather himself amidst the chaos.
"Miss Ines," she says, barely heard over a chorus of screaming and fire.
"Miss Ines," Lucifer says, "I promise you that this is not our regular day. We take pleasure in preserving order and discipline in our family."
Miss Ines looks at the sight skeptically, but before she can answer, Mammon's flailing knocks over a light, showering shards of glass across the floor. With a disgruntled groan, Lucifer raises his voice.
"Enough!" he demands, his voice resonating throughout the room. The turmoil fades, leaving just the light from the fire.
Miss Ines observes the situation once again before returning her focus to Lucifer. "Mr. Lucifer," she adds, her tone surprised, "I've seen many things in my time, but this... this is beyond anything I could have imagined."
Lucifer nods sadly, aware of the seriousness of the situation. I understand, Miss Ines. Rest assured; We've had worse days.
With that, the woman explains that there was a misunderstanding because there are no children, and as she leaves, she takes a second glance and sees Beel walking in with food stains on his face and clothes, looking clueless, and the rest of the brothers waving at her with a fire behind them, and Lucifer pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head. She finds this circumstance amusing since she was expecting to check on a child but instead encountered a group of grown men acting childishly.

tbh as a way of limiting magic I'm much more interested in risk management than resource management
not how much can you do before you run out of steam
but how far can you push it before it blows up in your face
I think this first occurred to me reading the Shadowdark quickstart a while back
(I don't mean to bash the system, Shadowdark seems well-liked and successful, it's just not to my tastes)
it has an alright magic system, largely roll-to-cast, you can keep casting a spell until you fail to cast that spell, miscast on a natural 1
I had problems with this, at least from my perspective
miscasts are fine, good even, but only happening on a natural 1, that's a flat 5% chance at all times
and IMO this is kinda dull
I won't spell failure to vary based on the situation, how many times has the spellcaster cast today, how many times has a spellcaster cast in this scene, has the spellcaster had a spell failure recently, are there any antimagic entities or objects present, is there something big and magical going on, what is the general health of the caster, and so on

Potion/Spell Accidents (Drarry)
this is one of my fav type of Drarry fics!
Summary: Harry has had quite enough of sharing his mind with someone else, thankyouverymuch. A miscast Legilimecy spell says otherwise. (By: sara_holmes)
Summary: When a botched potion reveals that Harry's not quite as innocent as everyone thought, all of Gryffindor takes up the challenge to figure out just who defiled their saviour... except that apparently, it's not going to be that hard to solve the mystery after all. (By: blackdragonsghost)
Summary: Harry and Draco are stuck in a room and must kiss to get out. (By: MagixDiana)
Summary: It's a jinx that renders the victim mute, unless he/she serves the purpose of the jinx and kisses the person that they desire. It's just Harry's luck that he's in love with Draco. (By: Cassis Luna)
Summary: Harry doesn't believe his Amortentia's scent is correct, and starts questioning the potion and his feelings. Of course Malfoy, of all people, is the one to answer these questions. (By: lealam)
(i edited this post to add this fic ^ bc i forgot to the first time. also, ik this fic doesn't technically contain any sort of accidents, but it still involves potions so why not)

Hello! Do you have any recommendations for rpgs about wizards, particularly solo rpgs?
THEME: Solo Wizards
Hello, I think I've found some interesting games that deal with magic in some shape or form, from witches, to necromancers, to evil wizards!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyday Enchanter, by Beth and Angel Make Games.
We all face all sorts of struggles in our lives, but what if we could lean on a little bit of hidden magic to help us through it?
Everyday Enchanter is here to help! Enchant your glasses with VIBRANCY to allow you to feel wide awake when you put them on, give your favorite shirt RESILIENCE to make physical and mental pain feel more manageable, and when things really get bad, snuggle up to your favorite GROUNDED-enchanted stuffed animal to regain a feeling of safety and control.
To make the enchantments stronger, simply focus on them in times of need! Reminding yourself that you've got help, even if it's just your favorite pen in your pocket, can help make the tough times a bit more bearable or give you that extra boost of confidence to try something new! And if you really want to strengthen the enchantments, journal about your experiences. When you write about how you really wanted to buy that candy bar at the grocery store checkout but clutched your STAND FIRM-enchanted keychain and resisted temptation, you'll embed that power deeper into your mind. One day you won't even need the enchantments anymore...but until then, they're here for you!
If you bought the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Florida (or the similarly-titled bundle for Texas), then you already own this game!
The Magus, by momatoes.
The Magus is a solo journaling tabletop RPG that takes you on a sweeping journey for power, ambition, and arcane mastery, at great personal and interpersonal cost.
As a journaling game, you will roll dice, track stats, create spells, and write  imaginary experiences from the perspective of your character: a wizard, newly embarking on their quest for power, their head filled with grand visions of mastery.
This RPG is crunchy. You will use several polyhedral dice to manage four traits: Focus, Power, Control, and Scars, which shape how the protagonist overcomes  challenges and meets their denouement after seven, fateful events.
This game is also beautiful. It has a number of stunning images used as backdrop against the text of the game, illuminating each part of your character sheet before diving into the meat of the game. The game itself pits your character between two choices: increasing the bonds between them and their loved ones, or sacrificing those opportunities to gain in power. You’ll roll a number of dice equal to your power in order to learn more spells, which are created using a combination of prompts and your own imagination.
Miscast, by Paradox Press Games.
You are undergoing training to become the successor of a Master Conjurer, but the only problem is that the Master Conjurer has a major Dragon's Dust addiction and spends most of their days higher than the mountains of Mar' Hollok. This leaves you solely responsible for your own training while also having to conjure up the creatures that eager customers come to your Master’s shop seeking. Long story short, you miscast spells a lot and end up conjuring a wide assortment of weird and fantastical monsters.
This game can be played solo, or it can be played in a group. You are using a deck of cards and a d6 to conjure different kinds of creatures; unfortunately, you’re only an apprentice, so the creatures don’t always come out right. You’ll use the cards from the different suits to determine the physical aspects of the monster, while you’ll use the d6 to determine how big the monster is, the monster’s nature, and what further Abnormalities it might be suffering. A game for funny random creatures, great for getting your creative juices going!
Sigils in the Dark, by Kurt Potts.
You have a need, a deep burning needthat drives you. Is it love, regret, desire?
The darkness whispers, “I can help you…”Minutes turn to hours as you try to focuson the voice. Symbols, shapes, swirl in thedarkness at the edge of your perception. If only you could grasp them, your needs would be met and more.
Sigils in the Dark is a journaling game and GM supplement. The goal of the game is to create an evil mage’s spellbook. You’ll take up the role of this wizard with a desperate need, in search of arcane power to get what they want. They will try to understand dark sigils just outside their perception by randomly generating spells and adding liner notes to their grimoire. In the end, you’ll have an in-game artifact that you can pass on to players and hopefully know a little more about what your evil mage has sacrificed to get where they are.
Using random roll tables, you’ll slowly create an artifact and a number of spells invented by a dark wizard. Each spell will also have a cost, and the wizard may choose to write notes that betray their own personality as they edit the spell the way an expert baker edits a recipe book.
This is great for slow character creation, as you try to figure out the motives and goals of a wizard character, and can also put together pieces of their life before they meet anyone else.
The Final Undertaking, by kay w.
Tonight you will prepare the body. You will hang the heavy black curtain, and you will put out the call in the town paper.  Tomorrow night, when the sun sets, the chosen mourner will arrive, with their matter to discuss. You will sit with the body on one side, coaxing the soul back to the body, and the mourner will sit on the other.  The final undertaking will begin.
THE FINAL UNDERTAKING is a one player journaling game about grief, resolution, necromancy, and a town. It uses a d4, a tarot deck, and pen and paper to tell a story about an undertaker, who works in a town to prepare bodies for burial, briefly brings the spirit back to the body, and then facilitates a conversation between a single mourner and the deceased about their unresolved business.
In this game, you will use the tarot cards to form a spread that tells the bones of a story -- the deceased, the object they are being buried with, the mourner here to visit them, and the unresolved business between them. From your spread, you will be able to construct small narratives and write them down as journal entries.
This is a lovingly written and designed game about putting the dead to rest. You will write journal entries from the point of view of an Undertaker, someone who is responsible for facilitating one last conversation between the spirit of the deceased and their mourner. You will play through 3 phases, which involve determining how well you knew the deceased, the situation at death, and what needs to be resolved before they can pass on to their final rest. The book comes with an oracle of Solemnities, which give you prompts to help you interpret each spread. You can play through the three phases as many times as you like, journaling for each one.
Grimoire, by Anna Landin.
Sparks of magic dance on your palms, flow like rivers through the world around you, and you can weave them into something powerful. You are a witch - and just as a tailor draws their patterns out, and cooks will write their well-kept secret recipes down, so you, too, will bind your spells in ink and paper and make for yourself a grimoire - a spellbook in which to keep your knowledge.
Grimoire is a roleplaying game for one person, played with a deck of regular playing cards with the jokers taken out, a six-sided die, and something to write your spells down with. The latter can be a blank notebook or a sketchbook, or one of the templates provided with these rules. Over the course of the game, you will make a spellbook of your own, a collection of spells you craft out of magic power and components available to you.
If you desire a character that’s a bit less evil wizard and a bit more homebrew witch, Grimoire is another great way to put together a spell book using randomly generated prompts and whatever components your witch has available.

Hi! I was wondering if you had any sterek fic recs for little red hiding hood aus? Love your blog btw, I've been reading so much thanks to you hehe
Here are a few. ❤️
Little Red Riding Hoodie and the Sourwolf by  SourWolfie (pieprincess_andthe_fallenangel) | 7.2K
It had seemed like a good idea when Stiles had first thought of it… it was funny… would make everyone laugh despite all the recent deaths in their pack.
Or the one where Stiles wears a revealing little red riding hood costume to Lydia’s Halloween party.
Little Red by  cloudsarefluffy | 4.9K
Derek has been restraining himself for so long, and he doesn’t know how. Maybe he does, but either way it doesn’t matter. Stiles pushes his buttons, and Derek is one always a second away from snapping his jaws around the boys neck to claim him like he wants.
My, What Large Teeth You Have. by  Ezlebe | 6.5K
A trip to deliver a neighbor’s package goes wrong, and Stiles wishes he’d kept up with his laundry.
Little Red Riding Hood (you sure are looking good) by  aohatsu | 10.2K
Stiles hangs out with werewolves. Stiles dresses up as Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween. It’s supposed to be ironic.
Conversations over Cigarettes by RedRidingStiles | 10.7K | Mature
“You guys are really cute together, how long have you been married?” Ryan questions, Derek frowns at the question, why would he think Stiles and him were married?
“What?” Derek asks, his brow turned down in confusion.
“Oh have you guys tied the knot yet? I just assumed since the page you showed us of your work earlier said Hale.” Ryan replies with a shrug.
“We’re not...together. I’m adopted, the Hales took me in when I was five. Derek’s my best friend.” Stiles explains with a frown.
“Really? But the way you two talk and touch each other...and you live together. You smell exactly the same too, like you’ve rolled around in each others scent. You’ve been inseparable since you got here even. I just thought…” Ryan trails off with a look of disbelief, his cigarette forgotten in his hand.
Stiles Stilinski: Actual Disney Princess by LadySlytherin | 20.2K | Mature
Halloween + Drag queen friends = Crossdressing!Stiles fic! Throw in a miscast spell that has woodland creatures and our resident weres trailing behind Stiles a-la-fairytale-logic and you’ve got a recipe for disaster...and love.
What Big Eyes You Have by AsagiStilinski | 8.5K
There are no wolves in Beacon Hills
Stiles knows that isn't true, he knows because he was saved by one on Halloween night, he remembers every detail, every patch of midnight fur, the beauty of his crimson eyes, the way he stared through Stiles' soul... and as he tightens his cloak around himself, making his way through the woods, he can feel the eyes of the wolf, watching him... watching out for him
And my, what big eyes he has....

Tanis was fumbling for his dropped bow when he noticed Raistlin sitting up. “Take cover!” Tanis warned, and Caramon started to reach for his brother, but the mage, scowling at both of them, slipped his hand into a pouch on his belt. His delicate fingers drew out a handful of something as an arrow struck the seat next to him. Raistlin did not react. Tanis started to pull the mage down, then realized he was lost in the concentration necessary to a magic-user casting a spell. Disturbing him now might have drastic consequences, causing the mage to forget the spell or worse – to miscast the spell.
Tanis gritted his teeth and watched.
–Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, Dragons Of Autumn Twilight
I love that hyperfocus is an actual thing all mages have in this world – and that it’s made very clear that you Should Not disturb someone who’s hyperfocusing.

Hello! I love any fics where the participants (usually Drarry, but I’m flexible on that) can talk to one another telepathically or via some kind of magical device. (Whether they want to, or they are unable to stop hearing one another’s thoughts.) I have already read some excellent fic meeting that description, and would be keen to hear about any more that you may know of. Thank you!
Hi there! I’m sorry for the late reply. Oh that’s a super interesting trope, I haven’t read many fics exploring it but these are all great:
A Quickening Hope, A Freshening Glee by MaesterChill (T, 4k)
Joy comes to Harry and Draco alongside a quickening of heart, and of body, and of breath. Or: The one where Draco and Harry find out from Remus Lupin in a Ministry lift that they're going to have a baby. And Sirius flips out.
Sod Off Potter by Bellad0nna (E, 34k)
When Harry wakes up to a strange voice invading his head he feels as if he should be far more surprised and concerned than he actually is. Although it's to be expected at this point, after all there is always 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 wrong and it almost always involves Malfoy.
The Boy Who Only Lived Twice by lettered (E, 54k)
Harry Potter is an Unspeakable. Draco Malfoy is the wizard who shagged him. Adventure! Intrigue! Secret identities, celebrities, spies! It's all right here, folks.
For Thine Is The Kingdom by kedavranox (E, 67k)
On a secret mission, Draco is Turned. With no memory of what happened, he learns that to save his missing Auror partner and regain what he’s lost, he must uncover the long-buried secrets of the vampire covens. To do that, Draco must open his mind and heart to what he has become, the new-found family that surrounds him, and the man who has remained steadfast at his side through it all.
Merlin Works in Mysterious Ways by lordhellebore (M, 82k)
When Harry is forced to form a Blood Bond with Draco Malfoy under threat of death, he thinks his future will consist of a cold home and sexual frustration. But when a group of left-over Death Eaters decides to stir trouble, their lives change completely – and it takes them both some years to figure out whether it’s for better or for worse.
Mental by sara_holmes (M, 186k)
Harry has had quite enough of sharing his mind with someone else, thankyouverymuch. A miscast Legilimecy spell says otherwise.

[Hriob's Abilities: Arcane Absorption and Adaptation.]
Tumblr media
From the very beginning, even before he learned about his true nature and origins, Hriob has always had a strong, nearly unparalleled connection to magic and the world around him - sometimes as a boon, other times more of a curse.
Mainly, this power is arcane in nature, but has aspects both spiritual and psionic... Absorbing magic from his surroundings, be they ambient, dormant, or active and offensively being thrown at him, forces him to attune to the energies, storing the power within his own body's energies while memorizing the 'pattern'/structure of the magic, if there is any, in the process. Over the years, he has honed, meditated, and refined this process to allow him to passively harmonize and synergize his own energies with those of his surroundings to the point that all life force within a wide range around him is a part of his effective reserves of power - and in turn is empowered to grow and flourish while in contact with his spirit.
However, while he has yet to show an upper limit to how much power he can store at a time, the nature of what he 'eats' in this manner is very important to the process. 'Simple' Elemental powers are ideal, while more complex curses, charms, hexes and enchantments take longer to 'break down' and digest. That said, some elemental affinities are better than others - pure life force or spiritual energy is best, especially from flora rather than fauna, but of the 'basic' natural elemental alignments Wind and Lightning are the most attuned, and Fire the least. Holy energies are mostly neutral, if difficult to 'digest' as well, but 'Corruptive' forms of power, such as demonic, eldritch, and necromantic forces tend to be the hardest on him - at best forcing extreme strain to process, at worst literally forcing him to endure harmful physical backlash while dealing with the influx.
Tumblr media
As a child, he had next to no control over anything, often acting as an unwitting vessel for stray spirits, and causing freak storms and wild miscasting whenever his emotions went awry. However, every time he would have perished was countered by latent protections placed upon him at his 'birth', even if scars often remained. While intelligent and insightful, his luck truly was horrific when it came to his chance encounters, as even if he occasionally found shelter, friends, and surrogate family from time to time he never seemed to truly be able to stay around before some force seemed to push him to wander again.
Tumblr media
It was not until adulthood, even if it was not for longer still that he learned his true Fae heritage, that he truly grew to maintain a true grasp of his abilities, and hone them properly. It was during this period that he expanded his attenuation to all of nature around him, and began devouring knowledge of spellcraft - and literal spells - ravenously to expand his repertoire of magic... and from there expand his skills to all manner of crafting, magical or otherwise.

"Yes, I think this worked out just fine," Evelyn thought, admiring the mountainous size of her new masculine vessel.
Though the old witch had intended to swap bodies with her young neighbor's wife, she'd instead ended up in the body of the man of the house, something she hadn't exactly expected. Her first thought was that her body-swapping skills weren't quite what they used to be, but after the initial shock of being flashed into a body stacked with slabs of muscle and decked out with a beard and tattoos, Evelyn saw a potential upside to her miscast spell.
"I wanted the wife," Evelyn flexed her biceps and let the throbbing feeling of masculinity course through her veins, "I got something better."

WIP Wednesday
I mean to do these more often than I do but Wednesday is usually my busiest day of the week because its the day I actually have to do a work commute longer than the 10 feet from my bed to my desk XD
Anyway, when the year started I wanted to have the angsty aroace!Mario fic written for Valentine's Day/AroSpec Awareness Week but then I looked at what I had left to write for it and how much time I had and there was no way I was finishing it within that deadline, lmao. So I put it down and decided to work on some other WIPs instead; I have some outlines and ideas from late 2020/early 2021 that I can knock out real quick, with how much my writing skills have progressed. And it would be nice to actually put a tangible dent in my WIP pile for once. I already wrote two of them, and luckily I have a different aro!Mario WIP half-outlined that I can definitely write and finish in time for ASAW so I think I'm going to focus on that, now. It's not much to do with Mario being aro itself (aside from Peach being mad about amatonormativity for a bit, ha); it'll probably mostly be, like, platonic cuddling and junk. But it'll be nice to get another entry in the aro!Mario series after so long…It's really hard to get ideas for new fics for it :(
This also means I have to pause the WIP I was actively in the middle of working on, which was a late-2020 idea about Kamek accidentally shrinking himself and Mario deciding to mind him. Because I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong places or something, but its really hard to find fics where people are shrunken that aren't, like, Borrowers fusions or a vore thing. Which, no shade to either of those, but they aren't the vibe I'm after, haha. But I suspect the shared change in perspective and helpless vulnerability and having to trust someone who could just crush you if they wanted etc etc etc is still fueling it all regardless :)
So anyway here's some of the tiny!Kamek fic because I won't be working on it for a hot minute —
“Either that spell I’d cast was more powerful than I’d realized,” Kamek slowly said, “Or I somehow managed to shrink myself, instead.”
“...”
“I’d shrunk myself, didn't I.”
Mario’s mustache curled up in amusement. Kamek ground his teeth and fumed. Of all the stupid mistakes to make...!
Despite his magic reserves being low, Kamek reached into his sleeve for his wand; whether to put himself back to normal or knock the amusement off Mario’s face, he couldn't say. Either way, his hand came out empty. And it did so the second time Kamek rummaged in in his sleeve, and the third, and the fourth, and the —
Absolutely not panicking, Kamek dove back into the tree hollow to overturn every dead leaf and stick pile and moss clump in search of his wand. He didn't find it, of course, and he spared a moment or two to just stand there, head in hands. With how today was going, he’d probably dropped it just after miscasting that spell. On the very dim bright side, though, at least he knew why his broom wasn't working; those enchantments weren't designed to play nice with these sort of shrinking spells. Kamek sighed. Curse Lord Bowser and his incessant, almost impossible demands...
Kamek lifted his head to find Mario peering through the opening of the tree hollow, watching him with a furrowed brow, considering Kamek’s misfortune. He backed up to allow Kamek to leave, and once Kamek stood upright, he extended a hand to him.
“I don't need your help,” Kamek snapped. Ignoring Mario’s hand, he turned on his heel, marched a few steps, tripped over a protruding bit of exposed bark, and lost his balance. His next step was on empty air, at a height borderline unsurvivable, with little but a broken broom to break his fall.
So he fell. And he hit the ground. Sooner than he’d expected, considering. Kamek unscrewed his eyes and found the surface he’d landed on was whiter than he’d expected, as well. And then it moved, and Kamek lost the little balance he’d been barely holding on to. Mario’s worried face filled Kamek’s vision, and he realized that he wasn't dead because Mario had caught him.
“...I suppose I should thank you,” Kamek eventually said, with no intention of thanking Mario. Mario huffed, but still watched him, lips pursed in thought. He was being quieter than usual, and that combined with the sudden awareness of just how vulnerable he was —  many fractions his size, unable to cast any spells, sitting on his archenemy’s palms high in the air — had Kamek swallowing nervously.
“You can put me down, now,” Kamek hesitantly said, because Mario was a good guy, and he would do that. For sure. Hopefully.
Except Mario didn't. Instead, he transferred Kamek to one hand, opened the front pocket of his overalls with the other, and dumped Kamek in there as if he was some common —
Kamek struggled to right himself in the small, mostly enclosed space. “Wh — You —!” he sputtered. “How dare you — !”
Mario chuckled at Kamek’s indignation. The vibrations of it rumbled through Kamek's body, and the whole ‘you’re very tiny and powerless and more-or-less at your archenemy’s mercies right now’ dilemma screeched back to the forefront of Kamek’s mind. So he shut his mouth with a clack, thinking better of poking his head out of the pocket to give Mario a piece of his mind. Through the meager opening above him he saw Mario give him one last look before starting to move; with the way the world shifted probably meant he was at a brisk walk, down the forest path to who-knew-where.
Kamek sighed, making himself comfortable the best he could given the circumstances. Well... at least Mario wasn't likely to let Kamek get accosted by wildlife again. And besides, all Kamek had to do was wait until he could scrounge up enough magic to cast spells again; though he was still without his wand, he’d still be free to ditch Mario and make his own way back to the base for his spare wand and broom. And then he could make Mario pay for this indignity ten-fold.

Play-By-Blog #6: The Isle by Luke Gearing
Welcome to my ongoing play-by-blog of The Isle by Luke Gearing! We are playing this adventure with its original system, The Vanilla Game (adjusted somewhat to fit the format). You can check out the Play-By-Blog Repository to get all caught up if you wish.
How Play-By-Blog works:
I write up the situation, NPCs, and more, just like a DM.
You vote in the poll to help decide the character's course of action.
I roll the dice, resolve actions, and write them up next week.
So on and so forth for the rest of the adventure!
Notation:
[Text in brackets is out-of-character/GM text!] "Non-italicized quotes denote text from the original adventure!" "Italicized quotations denotes NPC dialogue."
Our character: Medon Girou - Magic Cutpurse
Our map: The Isle
[You can use the link's above to find Medon's Character Sheet and map of the Isle. On the map, you are currently at B.]
Now, back to the adventure!
Tumblr media
[Our first tie vote! To adjudicate this, I went through and found that the majority of folks wanted to take a violent approach focused on attacking the monk (there will be options to not necessarily kill him, if the fight goes that well) so we'll be going with Option #3: Strike Now with your Katana, cast Sticks to Snakes when you are able]
This was not the reaction you were expecting, not from a supposed man of god anyway. You look down at the slash the monk drew across your side. Its not a flesh wound... yet. For a split second, your mind is torn between two courses of action, fleeing or fighting. No, you need to fight. There's no future where fleeing gets you inside that monastery.
You draw your katana and strike out at the monk, now at the top of the stairs between you and gently rolling waves of the cove below. You slash out, slicing easily through is robes, revealing an aging set of heavy sailor clothing beneath. He barely avoids a wound, but he's on the back foot now. Even just one well-placed slash could take him down [Attack Roll: 6 - Success, below AV of 11 and above enemy AC of 2] [Damage Roll: 5 - Monk has 5 Flesh, 0 Grit remaining].
You turn and run further up the raising path leading back up towards the isle proper and the monastery beyond, hoping to position yourself for casting Sticks to Snakes, if you are able. He may not allow you that luxury. He slashes at you as you go, but misses [Free Attack Roll: 19, Failure - over AV of 10].
[Next round begins! Initiative: 2 - Even, player goes first!]
Now's your chance. You look down at the monk, still standing near the top of the stairs overlooking the cove. Small shrubs, grown in the rough patches of dirt between the rocky outcroppings, have been torn away with the recent transport of cargo. Branches and small sticks litter the path.
With your offhand, you cast Sticks to Snakes, muttering a hurried incantation and gesturing with crooked fingers at the ground below the monk. You feel the arcane power welling up inside you and traveling down your arm and off towards the monk, but something's wrong. It's too much and it's not right, not focused in the form you needed. There's just too much [Spell Roll: 10 - Failure, over ST of 8. The spell is now Corrupted.] [Miscast Roll: 3 - "You cast a random spell on your original target, in addition to your original spell."] [Random Spell: Wizard Eye].
The energy leaves you. An ethereal floating eye, visible only to you, appears immediately to the side of the man's head [Wizard Eye miscast]. In the same moment at the monk's feet, five sticks [2d6 roll of 5, 2 of which are venomous] wriggle to life, turning into living snakes. They surround the monk, following your command - to attack! Four of the snakes strike out and land their bites along his calves and ankles [Attack Rolls: 6, 2, 3, 6, 6 - 4 successes (including 2 venomous)] [Damage: 1 each for 4 total] [Saving throw versus Death (due to venom): 4 - Success, 13 - Failure]
The monk cries out in pain, beginning to kick down at the snakes before his body quickly weakens and a bloody foam forms at the side of his lips as he coughs. He yells out once more towards the monastery, weaker than before. The knife falls from his hands and he looks to flee, his dying mind panicking, but loses his strength as he goes, falling down the stairs and lying still in a dead still heap at the bottom [XP Granted: 50].
There is just the sound of the waves against the rocks and the soft slithering of snakes at your feet.
After a moment, the snakes revert back to sticks and the Wizard Eye fizzles. You head down the stairs to check the body. Other than the fishing pole, sack of worms, and fish in the bucket, the monk has little of value on him. Around his neck is a piece of twine holding an unusual iron seal, you take it. It doesn't look valuable but it looks esoteric, specific - the kind of thing the right person may want very badly or that could get you into places you would normally be barred from. Lots of stories you could cook up around why you have this seal, why you should be let into the monastery.
Beneath his robes, you find his arms and chest to be covered in tattoos, the kind commonly seen on lifelong sailors. What brought this man to this monastery and to this god? Well, perhaps he's in his heaven now, after attempting to defend this holy place.
You find some old rope along the jetty and roll down a large stone from above the cove. You tie the rock to the monk's torso, after carrying both to the furthest end of the jetty, and push the rock over the edge. With a deep crack, the monk's body whips off of the wooden slats at your feet and out and down into the sea.
You rest for some time [Grit healed: 1d6 roll of 5 - fully healed] before venturing forth. The midday sun hangs high overhead.
[This was a fun one! I lot of interesting roll results leading to some unexpected outcomes, for sure. I was going to have options to keep the monk alive and question him which would have worked when he had 1 Flesh remaining but those venomous snakes back a big, deadly bite! See y'all next week! - Christian]
[PBB #7 is up now!]

Awww I love it <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You giggled softly seeing Stephen trying to figure out his new form. He squawked at you but you didn't understand him. You scooped him up in your arms and pecked his head. You sat down on the chair and Stephen nuzzled his body on your chest, enjoying the warm you always bring him.

Love your headcanons!! Would love to know if you had any thoughts/hc’s about Blaidd. Just finished his questline and I miss him xD xD hope you’re having a good day ❤️
Why thank you, anon. I adore Blaidd and, as a Berserk fan, I love the homage to Guts. The way he growls "...she needs me" does something to me. His everything plays with my emotions. Without further ado:
He views the Carian Crew as his surrogate family. The feeling is mutual. Even Rykard liked him. If only to keep Ranni from pranking him, too.
Everyone expected Blaidd to be tall but no one (him included) expected him to get that tall... well, I take that back. Radahn guessed he'd tower over most people.
To piggyback off the last bullet-point: at his core, Blaidd is a lone wolf (see what I did thar?) who really doesn't like to stand out and enjoys moving in relative silence. Unfortunately, getting as big as he did makes him stand all the way out.
Radahn was a cherished sparring partner and mentored him when it came to controlling his growing strength.
Ranni's the reason why he hates the cold. Something to do with a miscast spell...
...This leads me to my next point: Ranni was always getting them into shit growing up.
One headcanon I have is that as shadows of empyreans, he and Maliketh can actually hear the Two Fingers speaking to them. Blaidd has heard its voice since he was a pup. It is a soft litany that initially tells him to protect Ranni.
(Provided y'all are doing his questline) Once Ranni starts forging her own path, it changes to pretty much telling him to keep her in line. The more she veers off, the louder it gets. And when it starts calling for her death... he didn't catch on to who the voice was until it was too late.
Interestingly, the Two Fingers view Blaidd as a bit of an anomaly because of his utter devotion to Ranni. His inner strength is to be commended.
Additionally, I like to think that both Maliketh and Blaidd have their own spidey senses, too. Blaidd's Ranni Senses are tingling when she's either up to something or has done something. 75% of the time it's something crazy. It hasn't failed him YET.
He doesn't employ it often, but Blaidd has a pretty effective "Disappointed Dad" stare. Thank Ranni for that.
For Blarnished, the guy is astute... except for when it comes to him. He won't make the first move at all, and Ranni and Iji have to become the Tarnished's wingmen.
The Tarnished/Reader would literally have to say, "I. WANT. YOU." for him to get the hint. He's not oblivious, just really hyperfocused on protecting Ranni. ...Okay, maybe he's a little oblivious.
Ranni and Iji would also be their biggest supporters. Yes, Blaidd, you have obligations to fulfill but you're also owed a personal life of your own, too.
Self-care is the best care, mmk? ...Someone, please tell Blaidd that. Well, now his S/O can do that!
He's been trying to put his foot up Seluvis' ass for a minute now.
