On one hand, I am so excited to read a letter from Mina! I want to hear the gossip about the tall man with curly hair...
On the other hand, why didn’t Jonathan write?? Is he okay?? I hope he found a new shaving mirror!!

I used to say that Philippine politics was garbage hell.
That was when we were still under Rodrigo Duterte's administration.
Today... is May 9, 2022.
Election Day.
We are at an impasse
and things are not looking good for us right now.
...
...I hope I will be able to post a proper explanation and goodbye first
before shit goes down to real hell.

Putin’s two day “special operation” is getting close to its 70th day.
So far it has been illegal in Russia to refer to this conflict as a war. That could change on Tuesday when Russia marks Victory Day to celebrate the end of World War II.
There’s been a lot of speculation as to what may happen on May 9th. One possibility is that Putin will formally declare war on Ukraine.
Putin is probably deeply embarrassed by his military failure and is trying to save face. There's currently a limited number of additional troops which can be used to reinforce the Russian side in Ukraine. One option is to conscript a lot of young Russians. But it would take months to train them properly. Putin is so desperate that he may simply send lots of poorly trained conscripts into battle in an attempt to turn the tide. In fact, not fully trained conscripts have already been used in this war – especially those who had been moved into into Ukraine via Belarus. Many were not even told they were going into combat or invading another country.
According to Ukrainian estimates, about 24,500 Russians have been killed so far. There are not numbers available for the number of wounded Russians. But in the Iraq War (at least 2003 to 2007) there were 7.6 non-fatally wounded Americans for each combat fatality. If the Russian invaders are experiencing a similar ratio, then that would imply at least 186,200 wounded military personnel. Of course some of the wounds may be minor while others may cause permanent disability.
It may become difficult to leave Russia after May 9th. So if you are a male between 18 and 27 and eligible for conscription, this may be an excellent time to take a vacation in Georgia, Lithuania, or even Mongolia. I hear that Finland is very nice this time of year.
