If I was to contact Lonnie Brown (Jerry Lewis' childhood friend/lifelong friend), what would be good questions to ask her? I'm thinking she answered at least most of the questions I had in her book. But I would love to hear what others have to say. I do have Lonnie's phone number (from a friend of mine), but she is very old (not sure what state of health she is in), and I'm sort of hesitant in contacting a stranger like that over the phone.

Too bad the spark for Jerry didn't strike in her, I feel that, perhaps, she was the only one who really understood him. Or maybe that's why she didn't feel up to living next to an ultra-sensitive soul like Joseph was.

Jerry and Lonnie Brown

Hello guys, I am reading (again) the Jerry Lewis in person book and am I the only one who thinks that Lonnie and Jerry would have been a cute couple? I know he once mentioned that he had a little crush on her and that she only saw him as a friend, but growing up I wonder if it would have been possible for them if Patti hadn't been in the picture?

While Tim isn’t exactly the most interesting Robin I think it’s notable that out of all the protégés he comfortably has the best Rogue’s Gallery and it Carrie’s him a long way. Barb has Killer Moth, and formerly the Cavalier I guess, and Damien has his family but all of them are mostly Bruce’s villains. And everyone has rivals in Bruce’s rogue’s gallery but those connections never stick. Tim’s got Anarky, King Snake, and the General as pretty much exclusively his nemeses, and he’s got a great dynamic with all of them, like Lonnie, Dorrance, and Ulysses are all full fledged rogues with history, and most of that history is up against Tim. Steph is the only competition, but Cluemaster is ontologically pathetic by design and it’s tougher to have him be a recurring threat yknow. I think it’s worth putting energy into, because otherwise you end up with Dick’s most recurring foes being Blockbuster and Double Dare, I like Blockbuster and Double Dare more than most, but if they’re your arch-villains then something is wrong.

Finished reading Jerry’s book In person and secretly wish Jerry would end up with Lonnie if he hadn’t meet Patti!!

I've often felt that way too. Lonnie said she didn't ever have those feelings for him though. I've wanted to interview her or at least talk with her on the phone since I have her phone number. But she is very old now, and I feel awkward contacting a stranger.

I have so many thoughts about Detective Comics: Endgame #1.

The premise of this story is ‘during the Jokerisation attack, Lonnie Machin goes to save and warn his mother (with various assistance)’. Lonnie ends up with assistance from a few We are Robin characters (actually their first appearances!) and then ends up with the Batfam group who are causing a distraction for Bruce helping them out.

The part where Tim calls in Steph to help get the group, including Lonnie, out of trouble and to their destination? Oooooooooof. Because it’s so in conversation with the LAST time Steph and Anarky were around each other, at the end of Robin. But of course, these are two completely different versions of those characters (and both of them were being played by Ulysses Armstrong) but I can’t help but remember that Steph’s involvement with Armstrong probably contributed to Lonnie being paralysed. But here, Tim sends Steph off to HELP Lonnie, which she does.

Also: Lonnie’s running to protect his mother from a Joker attack. I…don’t think the Lonnie Machin in n52 was adopted, folks, given the circumstances he’s living in compared to preboot. I think he’s going to save his biological mother. Which means he’s trying to protect her from his alleged biological father.

It's just...so loaded. If you know Lonnie lore.
