*Y/n and Levi training*
Levi, wiping the blood from his lips with a smirk: “Oh yeah? Is that the best you can do?”
Y/n, holding back tears: “Yeah actually, I’m trying really hard..”
Levi, standing up straight, shocked: “Oh.. ok.. hey— it’s ok—“

One night stand with Levi is just that, a one time thing. He can't risk a relationship, he knows that he can't give you what you deserve so he gives you everything that one night, he marks your skin, makes you moan and beg for him. He interlocks his hands with your as his thrusts get deeper, his cock hitting all the right spots and he is close to saying those three words but he doesn't. Insted he kisses you, swalloing the words with a moan. Levi won't forget that night ever and he hopes that after all this is over, you and him can be finally together
Except he is watching you in a white dress, walking down the asile to marry another man. You look beautiful and Levi was never the jealous type however the envy he feels for that man waiting for you is through the roof. He will get to kiss you and have you, love you like Levi never did because he was a coward when he wanted to love you the most. During the vows, he stands up and leaves looking over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of you, you're too busy looking at your soon to be husband. Levi leaves without a word, as soon as he is outside in the fresh air, a sigh leaves him. No regrets was his main rule, no matter what choice he made, he never regretted it until now. Swallowing the lamp in his throat, he puts his hands in his pockets and walks away, feeling the metal of the ring he brought for you, a ring that you were supposed to wear on your ring finger.

Random Levi thought #12
Loving Levi is suffering in silence. His love isn't him pining over you, giving you gifts, trying to win you over. It's silent, yet so loud. It's him always making you tea whenever he makes himself one, it's him always making sure that your gear is functioning properly, it's him always telling you to be careful before a mission but it's never him to tell you the words that lay in his heart. He will never tell but you'll know it. That's the part that hurts the worst because it's duty before love.

“I’ll be okay.”
Tumblr media
It was suffocating. You were suffocating. The child in your stomach filled you with so much overwhelming joy. With so much anxiousness. You felt like you would throw up any second and it wasn’t because of morning sickness. The thought of taking care of a baby with the love of your life was exhilarating. Enough to bring a smile on your face.
But you were scared. Terrified that this baby would not bring happiness. Terrified that it would tear you away from Levi.
“Looks like you’re six weeks in ma’am. We can set up an appointment for next week to do your first ultrasound.”
You were sat up on the hospital bed. You hadn’t looked up at the doctor since your change in position. Your eyes were dull, and dark eye bags highlighted your lack of sleep.
This was supposed to be a joyous moment in your life. You were about to be a mom, well if you kept the baby that is. But all this brought was an excessive amount of emotions that gave you a headache. You loved Levi so much and you know he loved you just as much, you didn’t doubt it for a second. But there was one annoying part of you that thought that Levi would leave. That he wouldn’t want to be a father.
Of course that was entirely his choice. The question was would you keep the baby even without him there. Raise them as a single mother. You might, you’ve always wanted to be a mother. The love your parents showed you when you were young, how happy you all were as a family was an indicator enough that you wanted one for yourself, a family. This realization was like a slap in the face, a punch in the gut, but also a relief in itself.
You would do this, you would keep the baby whether Levi was there or not. No matter how much the thought of him not raising your baby together hurt you.
Imagining it now caused a hole to form in your stomach, no Levi. No father for your child. No family Halloween costumes, no family Christmas pajamas. You wouldn’t watch your child’s dance recitals or basketball games together. You wouldn’t talk to Levi about how fast time flies and how you can’t believe how much they’ve grown.
You needed to stop thinking like this, you haven’t told Levi you were pregnant. The future isn’t set and stone. But you knew whatever happened, you were going to be a mother to this baby.

Dusty-Eyed Thief
-> Levi Ackerman x Fem!Reader
Synopsis: He was a thief, she was a princess. Can I make it any more obvious?
Content Warnings: royalty!au, enemies to lovers, fluff, banter, a budding forbidden romance, class differences, strained father-daughter relationship, mild violence, very unedited
Words: 3.5k words
Author's Notes: I know the Levi fandom is dead but I wrote this so so long ago, figured I'd give it a place here
Tumblr media
The kitchen is your sanctuary. It engulfs you with its tranquility, the blaring sound of clanking pots only adding to the rhythmic routine of it all.
The steam from the cooking dishes hugs you on this cold, cold night as you weave your way through the maze of workers. You smile as you're hit with the first blend of splendid smells. You make your way further into the kitchen to find the buttery treat that's meticulously packed by Niccolo and placed beneath a hidden, faulty tile on the floor. Niccolo is truly a blessing sent from the Gods.
Despite its tranquility, it is an unusual place for a lady to spend her time, yet you frequently find yourself here – costumed in an apron, playing the part like you belong.
At first, you were naturally worried about being caught, but that only lasted for a spare few minutes as you soon grew accustomed to the sequence of it all. And you found that while dressed as a commoner, you were nearly invisible in this castle. You took full use of it, maybe to the point of misusing it.
A few workers recognise you on occasion, but they refuse to report you to the King in an attempt to protect their own peace. Arguments between you and your father elicited a barrage of petty retorts, coming in from both ends, which heavily affected the workers that were unfortunate enough to be witnessing it.
You're certain your father would not approve of your ventures, despite the peep of fondness he has reserved for you. Actually, you're convinced that it is deep disdain he holds for you; it's only been coated with fondness to suit his purposes.
You actively have to stop yourself from thinking about him; you do not want those thoughts to permeate through into your sacred space. And besides, you have to stay alert.
Applying gentle pressure on the strings, you open the package to discover that he made you some cookies today. You have to contain yourself from jumping in glee, settling for a wide grin for now.
You want to procure some milk to have with the cookies. You close the package, although not packing it fully as you place it near the nearest window. It seems safe placed in a fairly unoccupied corner of the kitchen.
As you return with the milk, a pair of hands cover your eyes. The hands are roughly placed against your eyes, and you feel out worldly for a second — blank, confused, intrigued before you push him off, digging your nails into the culprit's hand.
You hear him yelp before you catch his face, the culprit. He is a boy with dusty blonde hair. He pulls his hands back into his chest, soothing it over with his other hand.
Another deep voice reaches your ears, and you perk up, your eyes flitting over to the open window as you try to find him. Was that window always open? What is happening?
“Why do you keep making this easy for us?” The other man's voice is adorned with pure mockery.
You’ve never moved faster in your life. (Well, except for that time you were on the verge of being traded for an assassin’s payment.) You rush up close to the window, looking down before you see him, he's standing on… you're not sure. He seems to be standing on thin air, but you know that is not the case.
Your eyes flit over to his blue eyes; you find hints of green in them as you stand there for a second, just staring at him. You're not sure what to do. He's probably a thief, a thief with pretty eyes. As you stare you think his eyes might be green, although you conclude a moment later that it could be a play of light. You can't tell if his eyes are green or blue.
He’s handsome too; you made that conclusion as soon as you saw the rest of his face, and you curse yourself for thinking that when you’re literally in front of a thief that has stolen your only source of joy. He's standing beneath you, but he holds a gaze that makes you feel like you're being towered by him; he seems a bit intimidating. Instinctively, you mold your eyes to mirror his, sharpening them as you were taught, as you practice.
You feel liquid trickling down your hand, and you realize you’ve dropped your milk. You only make note of it when feeling his eyes trail down.
You immediately rush to squat down to pick up the broken pieces of glass; you do not wish for any of the kitchen staff to get into trouble, although you are certain they will when they have to tally up the kitchenware by the end of this week. You make a quick note to discreetly pay Hange to buy it and replace it for you.
In your haste and state of disorientation, you prick your hand against the pointy edge of a fallen piece. And you instantly curse yourself.
"PRINCESS," Niccolo yells out to you, and your identity is out within mere seconds. You can guarantee Niccolo would have been more discreet if the situation hadn't been so strenuous. You look down and see a tinge of vermillion seeping out of the cut in your hand.
You look up to catch a glimpse of the two men, who appear to be leaving amidst the chaos. You see them in your peripheral sight, but you’re too late by the time you turn to look, all you witness is a retreating figure, making it out the window with a swift leap.
You are waiting for the sound – his body hitting the ground, broken bones, anything.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five seconds, and still nothing. You scramble to the window, only to see trees and utensils that are washed and stacked on a white cloth left to dry under the scorching sun.
“It’s the princess, get the doctor," a couple of kitchen staff make it to your side.
There’s an immediate sense of panic seeping out from within you. You’re certain your father is going to make your life difficult if he were to find out, which would happen if you were to be tended by the palace doctor. The prickling sensation grows; you need to see a doctor. You decide you’ll deal with it.
You’re also plagued with a sudden sense of intrigue. You can’t place it quite well, not at this moment, but you want to know what the color of his eyes were. You want to ask him why he stole your food but also, you want to be him. In most ways, it's all you've yearned for. You want to leap out that window and disappear into nowhere, wherever that is.
You run straight towards the arriving horses. You're greeted with a smile and a frown. You focus on the smile, one that adorns your brother’s face, giving him a quick hug before you move to face the frown. "I heard about your little culinary mishap, my dear. To make reparations, you are to attend the ballroom event tomorrow evening, and you must ensure that you do not flee as you have done these last several times that you believe I have not noticed," your mother’s voice is stern, declaring it as finality.
You decidedly agree, knowing you will find ways to leave halfway through the event, and she will ignore it as she always does. For, unlike your father, she does not believe you to be the bane of her existence.
"Now, come here and give me a hug, my lovely and incredibly irritating daughter," as though she was reading your mind and cementing your notions about her.
You reach your arms out to embrace her. You place your chin towards the crevice of her neck and you’re hit with the smell of rose and iris, maybe even amber. It smells distinctly the same as when she embraced you after the first of your many disagreements with your father. You remember how you kept a straight face during the altercation, but immediately broke down at the sign of him finally leaving, only to find comfort due to her presence.
“I shall arrive at the stupid ballroom floor and I shall look pretty doing it. I shall catch the eye of every person in the room and you will forgive me for any mishaps I will ever commit. Won’t you, mother?”
“You’re to catch the eye of every person at a secret debutante, are you?”
“Debutante? Why is it a secret?”
“It’s a secret for it adds an element of sincerity, does it not? Your brother can court an honest woman.”
“I hardly think any woman’s honest in a society that is designed against the very notion of honesty, and especially not in a room that is swarmed with eyes waiting for any acts that are even slightly misplaced. But, I do wish you the very best, brother.”
“Thank you for your wishes. If opportunity permits, we may even find someone for our dear older sister. You’ll be next in line for picking then. Isn’t that ever-so enthralling to hear?”, the mockery reaches your ears crisply. Maybe much too crisply, because you find your mother glaring up at him.
You laugh at that, knowing that you are within the shields of the walls of your castle, but most importantly with your mother.
“I implore you to take your time, brother. You will need it to court for a suitable wife, would you not?” You try to hide your obvious nervousness at the breach of a topic you have been avoiding for much of your life.
“I suppose you are right, sister,” he looks down at you with a reassuring smile.
You do not want to be tied down by marriage any time soon. You have yet to process the fact that this is not your forever home. Your forever home is beside a man that sees you as a china piece to display, apparently. But you find brief solace in the fact that you come from the most reputable family in this kingdom and you will not be disrespected in any form, for it would not bode well for them.
The ball is the pinnacle of opulence. It's primarily filled with tones of rose gold, complementing the white and golden hues of your ballroom. You sense the presence of grey and teal amongst the crowd; you presume they're worn by accolades to instate their titles. The royal family, on the other hand, is required to constantly stand out, which is why you find yourself snug in a golden embroidered gown.
You suspect your mother has overstepped the mark with her preparations. You move the curtain that separates you from the ballroom slightly to catch a glimpse of her. Her strong and ethereal countenance reveals little about who she is, simply asserting that she should be feared and admired in equal measure.
You think of your sister’s tales of a knight in shining armor that might have reached you, if only for a fleeting moment, it’s enough for you to believe that maybe you could find a man who is respectful, charming, and filled with the tender ache to cherish you and only you, always. It only lasts for a transient moment of weakness. You’re drawn back to reality when your sister reaches for your arm and loops it with her own.
"You look absolutely lovely," she remarks, as a matter of fact, whilst sporting a sweet smile. "Who are you, and what have you done to my unlovely wretched sister?"
"Very amusing," you quip promptly as if it's habitual to do so.
"Sister, if you were to stray away early this evening, I certainly would not ask for you to procure some pastries. Although, I would most definitely not mind them after a night as strenuous as this.”
“Only if you help me escape”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” she quips letting go of your hand. She has a faint smile on her face as she straightens her posture. And just like that, she transforms herself to be the elegant first daughter of the King, the one every maiden in the kingdom is taught to be like.
“You look radiant, sister. I’m sure there isn’t a man in this kingdom who wouldn’t fall head over heels to court you, and yet again, I implore you to take your time. I’m not saying this for my sake, not this time at least. I hope you find a kind man, the one you always told me you wished for” You try to smile, but it is hard to ignore the bleak truth that’s hidden within your words.
“Thank you for saying that” She seems to sense it too but her smile doesn’t waver; in fact, it grows, as though your words made a difference to her. That would be a first. You too can’t help but genuinely smile.
After about an hour of dancing and chatting away with people, you find that it would not be that hard for you to escape all on your own. You’re not the first diamond of a daughter or the most eligible bachelor of this season. You’re the second daughter and fourth child of the royal family that people will worry about impressing next season.
To not frighten your sister, you make it through the swarm of men waiting for their turn to dance with her; you inform her that you will take your leave, as discreetly as you can. You meet your mother’s eyes one last time before you leave. Every single time you escape you try to meet her eye, just to catch her when she sees you leaving but somehow you’ve never caught her.
You make your way to the kitchen, briefly showcasing your teeth to perform the act of duplicating a smile at every passerby that meets your eyes. There are a lot of people. You're frankly exhausted and your head is throbbing. Maybe some tea will help with the ailment.
You know that there won’t be kitchen staff present there since there is an exclusive kitchen for events as grand as this since it requires a massive scale of utensils.
You make it and it is murky. You reach out for the candle holder, placed at the entrance. You wince at the coldness of the brass. It holds three candles. You light all three of them, with muscle memory.
"Is your hand okay?", you hear the same deep voice and you frantically look around to spot him.
"Where are you?"
"Princess," you hear from behind you. This is honestly more frightening than the stuff you've read from your brother's atrocious shelf of literature.
You compose yourself. You will not falter and show weakness in front of a thief. "You are to greet me with respect. I am of the royal family," you punctuated every last word.
"I called you princess, didn't I?", he walks over to face you eye to eye, face to face.
"Gray'', you blurt out. You blurt it out far too quickly to calculate the embarrassment it would cause you. You feel it but you don't show it. It's one thing being part of a higher society has taught you.
His eyes are a stark sterling gray and that was rather unexpected to you. You thought about it extensively, maybe too extensively for the last two days. You concluded and expected it to be either green or blue.
His eyes remind you so much of thunderstorms. You happen to like them. They're distinctly heavy in color, but there's a variation that resonates something akin to…gentleness?
You're not why you're focusing much too much on his eyes, but they are beautiful and you could stare at them all day and night if you were allowed to. Maybe that's not an exaggeration.
"What?" he blurts out, rather confused. His eyebrows are bunched together like he's trying so hard to make sense of what you said. You refuse to bring ruin to your already faltering dignity, so you ignore the questions altogether to make room for your many questions.
You do not like not knowing things, not having reasoning for things. It bothers you immensely, for everything has a reason, does it not?
"Why are you here? Why were you here yesterday? Why did you steal my food? Do you do that often? How did you survive the jump?” Not giving him time to interject, you continue with your ramblings. “I have been thinking about what you said to me yesterday and it came to my attention that you implied this act of yours happens often. If so, why?"
This person bores a blank statement to their face. Either his facial features are impaired or he’s blatantly disrespecting you.
"You will answer me," you beseech him to answer. No, you're insistent. He doesn't budge, so you assemble all of your memories of your mother's severe glances to replicate it. You demand.
"Yes, I do it frequently, and no, I'm not answering the rest of your questions." You wait for a few seconds to see if he would budge. He does not.
"What motivates you to steal anyway?"
He stares, "Why was a princess like yourself dressed in a commoner's clothes?"
"I inquired first."
"I think you're more interested in my response than I am in yours." His eyes glint as he ever so slightly smirks, "Would you really like to play this out?"
"Very well. Just wanted some sweets really.” His mouth twitched upwards at the sight of you losing your temper. What a haughty man. “Does that answer satisfy you enough to answer mine?”
"Okay, princess.” He tilts his head a little when he mentions your title, it doesn’t sit right with you. And his tone is only a little condescending, you ignore it.
“Well, go on.” You urge.
"I was stealing food for my fellow people. The cookies were quite delicious. We thank the royal family for their utmost generosity," he says. His face is blank as you’re left baffled. You don't have time to be annoyed by his obvious mockery for something that could be seen as trivial as your long-gone cookies, for you find the way he said it interesting, to say the least.
"What do you mean?"
"Hmm? Dunno, we wanted something to sweeten the whole meal of dust and dirt we had for lunch. Do you get it now?” For the first time, there’s a hint of annoyance with you.
“I’m sorry. I–” You pause, your posture slackens for the first time today. “I don’t understand.”
His brows raise, but his face remains blank. “Yeah, I don’t expect anything else from a ditzy princess with all of her dresses and her little castles.”
You cinch your brows, “I am not ditzy,” you enunciate every single word of that sentence.
You only get a little dumb when you’re angry really and you’re trying not to get there right now as you force yourself to breathe through your nose. For some reason, you feel the need to prove you’re smart and capable. It’s odd, this may be the first time you have felt this way. You don’t generally feel someone asking for more of you. They expect you to be ditzy, not the opposite. “And we only have 3 castles…” Your voice trails out as he stares back at you. You said the wrong thing, you know how shallow you sound. You think his eyes must be hurting with the way he seems to narrow them down in judgment, every time you seem to speak.
“Well, since you seem to have 3 castles. You wouldn’t mind if we decided to take a small share of what you have, would you?”
“I don’t mind, I didn’t— I don’t— Uh—” You hear a noise, someone’s outside the door. You swivel your head to look.
No one. Nothing. An empty corridor is all that meets your eyes.
You sigh as you turn back, only — you see nothing. Your eyes squint around skimming the dimly lit kitchen. It’s almost like you were talking to a ghost of a man. Only the plain utensils and leftover food seem to be proof of his existence.
You blink in confusion, your heart racing as you search the dimly lit kitchen for any sign of the gray-eyed man. "What in the world..." you mutter to yourself.

Okay? Okay.
~ levi ackerman x reader ~ tags/cw: angst, blood/gore, levi always checks over your odm gear before missions ~ wc: 760 ~ "I wanna make sure you're safe, okay?"
Levi kneels before you as he tightens the straps of your harness. Deft fingers pass over the leather, slipping below the straps, testing the tension and strength of the new buckles. It isn't as if you are incapable of strapping yourself in; you have done this over a thousand times, but there is a new mechanism within the buckles that only a few people knew how to work correctly, Levi being one of them, and he was not about to risk your life over a new piece of metal.
"Levi, I think I can finish it," you offer as his hands slide toward your hips. "Just show me, and I can do it."
He shakes his head and lifts his gaze to yours. "I want to make sure they're secure." Silver eyes bore into yours, something soft and vulnerable hidden within the cold steel. You run your fingers over his cheek, curling them behind his ear.
Levi leans into your touch, eyes slipping closed for a moment before he kisses your palm. "I wanna make sure you're safe, okay?"
His voice is so soft and small. He sounds so fragile, so human. "Okay?" he tries again, fingers tightening leather again. His cheek is still cradled in your palm, and you don't think he will move it until you answer him.
"Okay, Levi"
Levi watches as the leather snaps. Watches as you are sent hurtling toward a tree, watches as you flail in desperation before accepting defeat against gravity as you brace for impact. Levi hears you scream his name before the sound of cracking bones as you hit the thick trunk. Levi sees the blood, then your body tumbling to the ground, limp and unmoving. He's flying before he can think, your name a cry on his lips as he propels himself towards you. Trees and leaves a blur as his vision hones in on you, the entire being focused on your body, scanning for any signs of life. His feet hit the ground so hard his knees scream in pain, but he pays them no mind as he sprints towards you. There's no movement from your body, no breathing or groans of pain. You're just lying there, still and quiet, as if you were a part of the forest, as if you had always been ageless and living among the foliage but weren't living. Levi finally reaches your body, calling out to you as he turns you over, but you aren't there. There is no life behind your eyes as he calls out to others. No, this wasn't supposed to happen. This was meant to be a simple exercise; you would come back home, have dinner, and then go to bed, and everything would be okay.
"Sweetheart, you're okay; please wake up." Levi reaches out and pulls you into his lap. "Come on, you need to wake up now."
His hand strokes down your face, blood starting to drip from your nose as he pushes your hair back from your face. "Please, love, wake up," Levi whispers, ducking his head. "I can't do this without you, please."
Levi doesn't hear as Hange approaches him, their hand on his shoulder startling him.
"Levi, they're gone," Hange whispers, kneeling beside him. "You need to let us take them, okay."
Levi shakes his head, holding you tighter as Hange tries to loosen Levi's grip. "No, they're okay, and I'm not leaving them. I can't."
"Levi, please. Let go."
"No! Just give me some time, and they'll be okay. We'll be okay, and everything will be normal. Okay?"
"Okay."
Hange nods and pulls back as Levi starts to sob. The forest is silent save for the broken cries of a man who has lost everything.
Levi startles awake. His eyes fly open as his heart pounds against his rib cage. He is in his bed, the sheets warm from the morning sun, fire dwindling to embers across the room. He reaches out, afraid to look, and finds nothing there in fear his dream is reality, but he is met with warm sheets and then the sound of clutter in the kitchenette, and his mind and heart instantly calm. Levi takes a deep breath in, the familiar scent of your perfume fills his senses, and he is calm; he is ready to face you and tell you about his nightmare.
"Sweetheart, I know you don't like hearing about them, but I had the worst dream, and I need to-"
Levi's voice fades as he sees Hange standing in the doorway, holding two cups of tea.
"I'm sorry, Levi."

Levi Ackerman x female reader
Warnings: cussing, blood mention (nothing overly graphic)
When you entered Levi's room to get him clean clothes, you took the time to be by yourself for a moment, trying to collect your racing thoughts. Everything had happened so quickly-- you went from being sound asleep to stitching up Levi's flesh. Not that his injuries were life threatening or something he had never dealt with before, but it still shook you when you remembered that even someone as strong as him isn't invincible. You took in a trembling breath, moving to rest your face in your hands for a second but you stopped before they made contact. You hadn't noticed until now that your hands were covered in Levi's blood. You groaned. Of course they were, he was bleeding like a damn geyser. You didn't want to soil his fresh laundry with your stained skin so you ran to the nearest water basin to begin your cleanup. With your now clean fingers, you began to warm up a big bucketful of water to use to wash off Levi since you knew he hated being dirty but was too injured to do it himself. While the water was heating up over the fire, you ran back to his room to grab some towels and his clothes. When you dropped them off in your room, Levi gave you a quizzical look.
"Why are you running around like this so late? I'm going to my own room so you can get some sleep." He sat up with his feet dangling over the edge of the bed, threatening to get up again and it took everything in you not to shove him back down like you had done minutes prior when the doctor was in there.
"Levi," you sighed, "please relax. I'm warming up some water so I can at least clean off the grime you're covered in. Then I'll help you into your room."
"Tch. You don't think I can clean myself?" As he stood from the bed, he winced and grabbed the side with his injured ribs. You stood there, eyebrows raised as he failed to prove to you he could act independently at the moment.
"By all means, Captain. Go fetch the bucket without gritting your teeth and swearing. If you can do that, I'll believe you don't need help."
If looks could kill, you would've been dead a hundred times over from the glare Levi gave you as he sat once more. "Brat."
You let out a triumphant "humph!" and left to collect the bucket, now heated up. When you came back, you swore you heard Levi release a sigh of relief, and you figured it was because he was ready to lose his mind if he had to sit there covered in blood for any longer. You took up your usual spot next to him on the bed and dunked the first cloth in the water, bringing it to his wounded arm. He moved lightning fast, grabbing the cloth from your grip.
"I can do it myself," he grumbled, eyes fixed on an empty spot of the room, "I'm not an invalid."
You chose your next words carefully as your hand hovered over his own, fearful of scaring him away with your touch. "Levi. You're not an invalid and you're not a burden. You're injured and I want to help you in any way I can. Not because you're not capable, but because I want to make your life a little bit easier in the ways I know how." You drew in a sharp breath as your voice went small. "Please. Let me help you."
For once in his life, Levi wasn't sure what to do. He couldn't stand the thought of you seeing him in such a state of weakness, fearing you would think of him differently than the strong soldier he was supposed to be, but here you were, instead fighting to come to his aid. He knew you were compassionate and caring so it was probably just in your nature to help people you deemed in need of it. Deep in his heart he hoped it was also because you recognized the connection you two shared, whatever it could be categorized as. He relinquished the cloth to your open and waiting palm, laughing internally at the surprised look that came onto your face when you realized he had complied with your pleads. You gently took his arm in your hands and began to cleanse the area around his stitches, not wanting to irritate the skin further.
"Is it alright if I clean the other arm for you? I don't want you to pop the stitches if you do it yourself, but I don't want to make you uncomfortable, either." He had an unreadable look on his face but his eyes held a softness that you were now becoming accustomed to and was a look that you secretly hoped was reserved just for you.
"That's fine," he said, his voice firm but not unkind. You nodded and worked on his other arm, down to his hands, up to where his shoulder met his neck. He was starting to feel less tense as the warm water and your benevolent touch melted away the stresses of the expedition. When you got the go ahead to wash his back, Levi's eyes fluttered closed at the first graze of the cloth. He had never received attention like this. He had never thought he even wanted, desired, craved, something like this before he met you. You were always going out of your way to help him, but it wasn't out of pity. It was like you enjoyed doing things for him in the same way he did for you too. Little did he know, you were thinking of the same sort of thoughts as you wiped away the accumulated sweat from his scar littered back. You didn't know much about his life before the Scouts, no one except Erwin and Hange did, but judging by how faded some of the scars were, he got them decades ago and you concluded he had a rough upbringing. Not that you were surprised, no one is as guarded as he is for no reason. You were just glad he accepted your help and allowed you to see him in such a vulnerable state. You figured you had to mean something to Levi to see him like this, let alone lay your hands on him.
"Okay, back is done. Chest next?"
He nodded as he faced you again. You readied the washcloth with more warm water, trying to balance being gentle with him while being speedy enough to not douse him in cold water if it sat too long. You were extremely gentle, taking great care not to touch his ribs more than necessary. You had gotten over your timidity of seeing him shirtless, knowing that professionalism took priority when you looked at him in this state.
"Done. Legs are next, do you need help taking off your pants?"
Both of you were too exhausted to laugh at the connotations of that sentence. Levi was able to do most of it but you swooped in to finish the job of releasing the pant legs from his ankles so he didn't have to bend over. Thankfully his legs weren't too dirty so it was quick work. You turned around as he changed into fresh underwear and you helped him shimmy into the rarely worn pajamas you found deep in his dresser drawer. You collected his dirty clothes into a pile to clean later and when you went to assist Levi into his own bed, you slapped your hand to your head.
"I totally forgot to wash your face. All that hard work and I forgot to polish up the money maker."
You wore a teasing grin while Levi rolled his eyes, a faint smile on his lips. He found it so attractive that you took great care in your work, no matter what you did. He was about to stop you from raising the wash cloth to his face and suggest he could do it himself, but he decided he wanted to be selfish for once and relish in your loving contact for the limited time he had access to it. You gently dabbed the cloth onto his cheek, careful to not pull at the skin. You felt your heart rate skyrocket as you became acutely aware of just how close his lips were to yours. You felt his steady breath land on your arm as you brought the cloth to his forehead, pushing his hair out of the way, and then to his other cheek. You were getting lost in his blue gray eyes that never left your own. He was staring you down, not in a way that was threatening, but more like he was studying you. You were studying him too, as you had before in other quick glances, but this time felt different. Neither of you were afraid of the other catching you in the act of shameless staring. You both were unabashedly looking at one another, no ounce of shame or uncomfortable energy present. It was strangely familiar the way you observed each other, like you had done this every day of your lives. Come to think of it, ever since you moved to the castle, you and Levi had looked at each other a lot. Your eyes always found solace in his reassuring gaze, no matter the occasion. After a joke of yours that had the dining hall in wheezing laughter, after a sarcastic comment of his that had you fighting for your life so as to not get reprimanded by the higher ups for giggling. Bad news, good news, worse news. Any time anything happened, there was no doubt that you two would lock eyes and share silent understanding. Even now, as you tried your best to clean him up, there was no need for words. You were sharing unspoken thank you's; him to you for taking care of him, you to him for letting you do so. The air seemed to get heavier around you as you inadvertently leaned in toward him the slightest amount. Levi sensed the almost imperceptible movement but he didn't flinch away, even though his body was begging him to break away from your closeness. It was decades of dealing with shitty people in shitty situations that taught him not to trust anybody and that there's more than likely an ulterior motive behind any action someone takes toward him. Still, he found himself no further away from you as his mind reeled, telling him to run away from whatever was happening before you could hurt him.
That was the thing--he wasn't afraid of you hurting him. He had known you a little over half a year but you had proven yourself to be just as valuable to him as his closest companions and shared all of their greatest traits: you were caring like Hange, passionate like Erwin, as headstrong as Isabelle, as focused as Furlan. You were an amalgamation of every person he had ever cared about. They had never done him wrong and he'd be damned if he thought you were any different. The one thing that set you apart from those people, though, was the nature of his bond with you. You had gone from strangers to close friends in no time, which was fine with him, but his attraction to you had been confusing him nonstop since that day he ripped his cape for you. Levi was a total stranger when it came to romance. Having no good role models to show him what romantic love could be like, he grew to fear it. It was just a distraction, a pesky thing like a fly, that could only lead to heartbreak. In a world where death loomed around every corner, Levi felt he couldn't afford to lose any more people. If romantic love was as life altering as people claim it to be, losing a significant other would be world shattering. He put his life on the line many more times than the average person--what kind of boyfriend or husband would he be to subject his girlfriend or wife to the pain of losing her mate? What kind of man would he become if he himself felt the loss of yet another person he would go to the ends of the earth for? As all these thoughts flooded his mind, he still couldn't find it within himself to create a gap between you two. His heart was pounding in his chest and his blood felt like it was on fire as he took the cloth that was still resting on his face from your hand, enjoying the feeling of your skin on his own. He found an unsoiled spot of the same cloth and brought it up to your face, causing you to jump a little at the unexpected contact.
"You got my blood on your face," he said, still not breaking eye contact as he wiped your cheek with a tender brush of the fabric. You smiled airily as you savored this side of Levi rarely seen by anyone. You were sure that in any other lifetime you and Levi would've kissed by now, seeing as you were in such an intimate position, but this universe was far too cruel to allow you to indulge in affection like that. Still, you didn't let that stop you from relishing in the fact that you were here, with Levi, and he seemed to be enjoying himself as much as you were. You knew he would've pulled away in an instant if he didn't want to be so close so you took it as a win. However, you didn't want him to get too overwhelmed from your lovelorn staring so you cast your eyes and chin a bit downward. Levi immediately got your attention again by bringing his free hand to your chin and lifting it delicately so he could see your eyes again. You felt nauseous, but in the best way possible. Did he really just do that? Your heart felt like it was battering against the walls of your chest as Levi kept his eyes trained on you once more. It was like he was trying to use his irises to communicate to you everything he wouldn't dare say out loud. Luckily for him, you understood him perfectly. In a show of your dedication to him, you tilted your forehead forward and he easily comprehended what you were doing, meeting his own forehead to rest on yours. Your noses grazed each other and you had never felt a sense of peace wash over you like it did in that moment.
"I care deeply for you, too," you answered him, voice barely above a whisper. His eyes shined brighter than you had ever seen before and he was ecstatic you accepted the message he found too excruciating to speak. A barely there quirk of the lips was present on Levi, the man beyond relieved that he wasn't the only player in this game of love. You knew it was extremely late and you wanted Levi to rest before the sun came up so you reluctantly pulled away from him.
"Sleep here. I got some rest before you came back so I don't need the bed for tonight. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." Levi went to protest but you shot him the most serious look you could muster. That was enough to quiet him down as he sunk into the bed, exhaustion creeping over him as he finally succumbed to sleep. You truly weren't tired so you kept your hands busy, scrubbing the blood from his clothes and sewing up his ripped shirt. Before you knew it, the sun started shining into your window and you hurriedly pulled the curtains closed so Levi wouldn't wake up. You were still in a bit of shock that he practically confessed his feelings for you, but you were more so pleased that you weren't misconstruing his actions the past few months. You knew nothing would really change in your relationship after this revelation, and you took comfort in that. You guys would be doing the same things you had already been doing, but with the truth of the intent behind the actions known. There were no expectations or societal pressures you had to bow down to, it would just be two people enjoying each others' presence and knowing you had each other's backs, no matter what. You definitely wouldn't be opposed to it if Levi suggested he wanted to try more romantic things one day, but you were a patient person. You'd wait a thousand lifetimes to kiss him if it meant he was by your side, just existing. Even if he never found himself comfortable enough to try something like that, you wouldn't fault him. His unyielding gaze was more than enough reassurance for you. You were brought out of your thoughts by your growling stomach. It must be time for breakfast! You went down to the dining hall and grabbed your food to go. It was pretty empty, which you figured considering most of the Corps just came back a few hours ago. You took a few pieces of fruit and some bread for Levi as well, carrying all of it up in a napkin. You'd make him some fresh tea when he woke. You quietly slid out a chair at the table to eat so you didn't make a mess and stress Levi out with your crumbs everywhere. As you ate, your eyes wandered along the room but they, of course, landed on the black haired man in your bed. His chest rose and lowered with the deep breathing of sleep and his lips were slightly parted. In all honesty he looked pretty beat up and you hoped his recovery would go smoothly. He hated being out of commission and you were eager to take him on your charity trip to the interior. You peeked out of the curtains and saw the sun was now high in the sky, signaling early afternoon. You wrote up a small note to hang on your door to tell people to drop off their torn clothes in a quiet manner outside the door and you'd get started on them in order of first come, first served. With a full tummy and in a dark, warm room, you felt yourself starting to get sleepy. You tried to blink away the tiredness but it was no use as you were yawning nonstop. You hadn't heard any footsteps outside your door meaning work hadn't been dropped off for you yet. You figured a little nap wouldn't hurt so you tried resting your head on the table but you were supremely uncomfortable. Levi had your only pillow and you frowned at your lack of thinking things through. You didn't want the creaking of the door to wake him or else you would've gone to his room for an extra pillow. You figured he wouldn't care if you shared the bed, right? You'd just lay your head near his feet and it'd be like you weren't even there. You stealthily placed the chair at the foot of the bed and laid your head on your outstretched arms. It must've been even comfier than you expected because you fell asleep almost instantly.
Levi immediately woke up when he felt the bed dip slightly but when he saw it was you, he calmed down right away. He couldn't resist wearing a soft grin when he noticed you were out like a light once your head hit the plush mattress. Feeling comforted by your company, he was able to fall back asleep as well, this time dreaming of you.
Chapter 10 coming soon!

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐌𝐞 (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝), 𝐋. 𝐀𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧
𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨: 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝, 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙘𝙝. 𝟭𝟯𝟬+
It was cold, like most nights on the coast, with rarely any reprieve but Levi never complained. His very nature of endurance prevented him from ever complaining so he opted to sit up in bed and embrace it. Goosebumps littered his skin as he stared out the bedroom window towards the rolling sea.
I dreamed of the stars, now look at me.
Levi Ackerman should be happy. He retired from the military, the war was long over, and he never had to return to that wretched place that forced him away from the treasures of the world. He should be happy.
“Levi, what’re you doing awake?” Your voice from beside Levi startled him slightly. His eyes darted over to you, tensing unconsciously. You opened your eyes fully at his lack of response and saw his expression; ready for combat.
From beneath the bedsheets, you reached your hand to grasp his clenched fist, then, and only then did he release slightly. He looked around once again but was met with the familiar sight of the bedroom.
“You’re safe, there is no war,” you whispered, the same tone you had said every time prior.
“I’m not stupid I know,” Levi mumbled. The vulnerability of admitting the trauma his life had given him was something Levi was not prepared for so he chose the next option; avoidance.
“I never said you were but you looked tense,” you said, getting up to match his eye level while remaining on the bed. “I just wanted to be there for you.”
Levi paused for a moment, he lashed out at you again. Though you had explained to him previously that you understood his defensiveness it still made him feel awful whenever he lashed out. That horrible feeling led him into believing he could never escape the horrors he had been subjected to.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to get angry.” He rubbed his hands together awkwardly.
“I know.” You smiled, Levi thought he did not deserve that grace. “But you’re getting better at recognizing it? Can’t you see?”
No, Levi could not. The progress you saw was entirely invisible to him so he simply sighed.
“Would you want to have some tea?”
“I’m up for it,” you said gleefully.
Levi got up using his walking cane, refusing assistance from you, and headed towards the shared kitchen. You remained silent as you sat down on a nearby table and opened a book knowing full well the tea-making process helped him to relax. It was clear cut for Levi, the steps were ingrained into his mind, even after all these years.
Hange taught me this trick.
Levi paused in his straining.
Hange.
The ‘four-eyed freak’ popped into his mind. For once in his life, he missed their charisma, their ability to lighten any mood, and most importantly their quirks. Levi looked around the kitchen but was met with empty space, Hange would always annoy him when he was brewing tea. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted you sitting idly at the table reading. Levi shook his head as he realized his own foolishness, he was not alone in this struggle.
“Can you stand by me?” The words came out stuttered and forced but for Levi to admit help this was the only way. You smiled at propped yourself on a nearby counter, watching him silently. “How was your day?”
“Good. Gabi dropped by and gave me some fruit she bought at the market, they’re supposed to be exotic.”
This was nice, this was normal.
“Keep talking,” he commanded.
You droned on and on about your day, recapping drama, reminiscing, sharing opinions, and so on. He never interrupted you but looked even more focused on his tea-making process.
“Done.” You stopped talking instantly and helped to put the tea and saucers onto the table. As you both sat there was a sad tinge in his eyes that you quickly picked up on.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Levi paused in contemplation, did he want to talk about it?
“Do you remember that time Hange thought it would be funny to lock us in Erwin’s office?” Levi looked down at his tea with a broken smile, his index finger rubbing the ceramic thoughtfully.
“You tried kicking the door down if I recall correctly.” You chuckled.
“You slept on one of the desk chairs until I woke you up.” Levi lifted his eyes to yours which were already staring at him. “Do you miss them?”
There was a lull. Did you miss your fallen comrades?
“Every day,” you whispered.
“How do you live?” Levi had stopped avoiding, he was tired of running.
“I have to focus on the present because if I stop to look back I’ll-” You stopped yourself as you lifted a hand to quiet your sobs. “I’ll remember how they all died, right in front of me.”
Levi regretted asking you these questions, it did more harm than good. It was better to just move on but that was easier said than done. He decided, looking at you, that he would try to live the life all his comrades dreamed of, he would try to live in peace.
“Do you want more tea?” He was mournful.
“No, I’m fine,” you hurriedly muttered, wiping the snot leaking from your nose.
“I’m gonna go back to bed,” Levi whispered, already grabbing his cane.
“I’ll go with.” The dishes were left on the table, that was tomorrow’s problem.
The room was as cold as before but Levi shirked away from it now. He glanced dismally at his bed and quickly climbed under the covers, pulling you closer than before. The newfound contact surprised you for a moment but you leaned into him.
“Don’t leave me too,” he whispered, voice gravelly, breath hot on your neck.
“I’m right here,” you whispered. Your hand grabbed his and you leaned your back further into his front. “Can’t you feel me?”
“You’re warm.” You were puzzled for a moment, Levi hated being warm or even humid. “This feels nice.”
And at least for this sole moment, he meant every word.

Titan Trackers
Tumblr media
Summary: The unlikeliest of parties brings you and Levi together.
Pairing: Levi Ackerman x fem!Reader, Zoe Hange x fem!Reader (platonic)
Request: No
Warnings: Some language, usual AOT violence but not explored in detail
A/N: Have I fallen for Captain Levi Ackerman? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. Is the dog based off of my own dog? Why not!
You had joined the scouts the same time Hange did, the pair of you standing out as the smartest amongst the bunch of cadets you were lumped with.
As the years passed, you two stuck together. Even as Hange advanced through the ranks with you, they never left you behind. When they eventually became Captain, Hange immediately made you their assistant.
It had been like that for years, except you had an experiment of your own now.
You always had a soft spot for animals, there were always stray ones running around the city streets. It broke your heart to see how starving they were, or how some were mistreated.
Levi saw this as you returned home after quite the grueling mission. Despite the Captain's stoic nature, he had a soft spot for you. One that everyone picked up on except you
So when you woke up the next morning surrounded by stray dogs, to say you were surprised was an understatement.
Rushing downstairs in your gear, it was like the floodgates of fur had opened as about 7 different dogs followed suit. Your mind was still spinning. How did they get here? Who the hell even let them in?
Nevertheless, you snuck into the kitchen, trying to be subtle enough as to send them on their way with full bellies. However, the pointing noses and little sniffs gave your location away to the Captain.
He slipped into the room with the mumble of something under his breath along the lines of "filthy animals."
But as you turn away from the rice and eggs you were cooking, you noticed the white hair clinging to his normally pristine cape that belonged to one of the dogs. Certainly, he hadn't brushed against one of the dogs?
That's when you heard a squeal from outside the kitchen doors
"THEY'RE SO ADORABLE! I'm going to name you Sneaky and oh! Yes, I'm going to name you Bean Jr. What do you think Bean Jr?"
After that morning, you knew that between Captain Levi and Commander Erwin the dogs would be gone by the next morning.
But the days turned into weeks, and after close to a month of helping the dogs regain their strength, something downright miraculous happened.
Hange said that you could keep them.
According to what the Commander had relayed, as long as they served a purpose for the Survey Corps, they could stick around.
So you quickly got to work. Some you trained to be guard dogs, others became like the sled dogs you read in books, hauling ODM equipment around the compound, and some even became companions for particularly nervous horses.
But there were a few chosen dogs you knew had something special. These ones seemed to be more aware, their senses more keenly attuned.
It was originally Levi who gave you the idea of how to train them.
You had invited the Captain for another evening stroll with the dogs. As much as he pretended to begrudgingly follow you, pretending like the nightly ordeal was a pain to him, he secretly enjoyed this part of his evening. He had warmed up to the dogs slowly but surely. But more importantly, he warmed up seeing the smile on your face when he joined you every evening.
This night, however, he could see you were deep in thought. As the dogs ran around the compound, letting loose after a long day of work or training, he walked beside you as your quiet pondering turned into stewing.
"Spit it out, brat. It looks like that little brain of yours is ready to explode."
You sigh softly, watching as the same three you had known to be special gently nudged you, not wanting to leave your side, especially in a distressed state.
"These three," you gesture towards them. "they still have no job. They just don't seem to fit. But I don't have the heart to send them back to the streets."
Levi's gaze fell to the three, quietly watching as they followed your side as loyal as ever. As you continued your walk in silence, you came across something you never saw anymore.
A deer.
Now while the other dogs were playing, clueless to the still doe standing and watching your rag tag group, there were a select few looking back over at the deer. Pointing, signalling to its presence, urging you to look over.
Confused, you followed their gaze and saw the deer, your eyes opened in awe of the rare sighting.
"Dogs, fetch."
Suddenly, the three blitzed from your side and ran towards the deer, nipping at its heels with vigour. As both you and Levi watched, they worked together so that instead of chasing it back into the nearby woods, they were herding it towards the two of you at an incredibly fast pace.
Before the doe could trample you in your state of shock, Levi grabbed onto your waist and using his ODM gear, anchored you and him to a nearby tree, narrowly missing the panicked deer.
With heavy breath, you clutched onto him as an idea hit you and you whispered:
"Titan trackers."
After Levi showed you the potential of the little group, you quickly got to work. In a short amount of time, the dogs (who you had so lovingly come to call Beanie, Thrawn, and Jasper) were ready for the field.
When you approached Commander Erwin with your idea, you were instantly shot down.
"Titan territory is no place for you mutts, Lieutenant."
Seeing you so crushed about Erwin's reaction, let's say Levi had a conversation with the commander.
The next day, the approval paperwork had magically appeared on your desk.
From that day on, you had your dogs on the field. And my had it paid off. Many deaths had been prevented thanks to them.
With their quick warning of nearby Titans, it gave the squads the upper hand. And with Hange's intuitive vests she had built for them, the dogs were armed to cut deep into a Titan's ankle, immobilizing them without crushing the dog!
And what you could never see coming was the day those three helped Levi save your life.
Despite Beanie, Thrawn and Jasper's work of warning you of the impending heard of abnormals, Levi and your squad quickly became overwhelmed. In the chaos, you had been split from the group, with innumerable injuries littering your battered and bruised body.
By the time Levi had regrouped near the walls, so close to safety, it had already been hours. So when he realized that you weren't accounted for, his heart dropped.
In his panic, he failed to listen to the incessant whining the golden trio had been giving off while following his pacing form. However, the high-pitched noise was grinding on what thing nerves the Captain already had. So by the fifth or sixth whine, he lashed towards them:
"Go lay down and let me think!"
Beanie, ever so gently, nudged Levi's hand and looked up at him with his soulful black eyes, almost as if to convey the own pain he felt that he didn't know where you were.
Levi, with a tearful sigh, patted his head when the thought struck him. Quickly rushing over to his horse, he ripped the small piece of fabric out of one of his travel pouches while mounting the beast. It was a gift from you to keep his blades clean, but he had yet to use it.
He whistled, bringing the boys over. Leaning down, he let them all get a good sniff before mumbling to them quietly:
"Find her."
Just like that, the three of them ran as fast as their legs could take them in one direction. In the direction of you. And Levi was right behind them on his horse.
It was late that night when he found you, hiding in a house in an abandoned town, weak but alive. The three dogs laid by your bleeding form, nudging your hands, laying their heads on their thighs while waiting for your next command. With what little strength your body had stored, you managed to mumble out:
"I'm okay boys."
Giving each of them a small scritch on the head, you let a weak smile grace your face. Levi rushed in, seeing the dogs guarding you, and a trembling sigh leaves his lips.
"You're not allowed to scare me like that, brat."
With a weak chuckle, you mumble something incoherent as your blood loss catches up to you. As gingerly as he could, he lifts you from the ground and slowly makes his way back onto his horse, holding your weak form close to his chest the entire way home with dogs in tow.
Nearly three days later, you finally regained full consciousness, the previous days being a blur. The morning sun was streaming in through the curtains but as your eyes focused, you recognized them as Levi's curtains.
"Welcome to the land of the living."
Slowly looking to your side, you see what you can only recognize as a severely sleep-deprived Levi. He sits in his office chair beside the bed, surrounded by paperwork he had been doing to keep himself busy. Through his bored expression, you could see the worry sitting deep inside him.
"I really scared you didn't I, Captain?" you croak with a grin.
"Yeah, you did," he says while laying the paperwork to the side. "I wouldn't have been able to find you without them."
He gestures to the three dogs slumbering by your side, one curled into a tight ball while the others are sprawled out. The dogs were laying on Levi's pristinely clean bedding.
"They haven't missed their nightly walk. None of them have. I made sure they were taken care of." Levi says while leaning back in his chair.
"But Cap-"
"Levi, just call me Levi,"
A blush overtakes your cheeks.
"Okay, Levi," you say tentatively, testing out the name. "They're shedding on your bed."
"Bedding can be washed...or replaced."
You chuckled weakly at the comment.
"But you can't, (Y/N). And I know how much you love these three. No matter how dirty they are."
You look at him softly, letting the cogs in your head turn in overtime at Levi's words. Before you could open your mouth, Levi stands.
"Don't overthink it, you need your rest. I'll go get us some tea and I'll get the dogs their biscuits."
Like he had done it a million times before, he leans down and lays a ginger kiss on the top of your head and whispers.
"I'm glad you're safe...brat,"
With a soft grin, you watch as he leaves his quarters before turning your attention to the sleeping pile of puppies sprawled across the bed.
Sure, years from now, in the history books other men had written, these three would be known as Titan Trackers, an innovative tool that resulted in the Scout Regiment's successful recapture of many territories.
But to you and Levi? Well, Beanie, Thrawn and Jasper held a special place in your heart.
They kept the two of you alive long enough for you to finally clear the air on your feelings towards one another. And once the walls had fallen, they spent their retirement watching your kids run around the house you had called home.
And as you sit in the backyard, watching Levi chase after Kuchel with your young toddler Hange in tow, you gently pet the three dogs laid in various positions around you, Jasper's face pressed impossibly close to your bump.
So yes, they were the world's Titan Trackers. But to you and Levi, they helped track down your happy ending.

Levi, stops and turns around, pulling off his suit jacket to reveal the ODM blades strapped to his back. “…”
Everyone: “…..”
Levi, nods his head and clicks his tongue, “Yeah…...OK..”

Levi Ackerman x fem!reader, slight nsfw, angst, kind of toxic?
It's quiet, the room echoed of your soft moans and his grunts. You hold onto him tightly, your legs wrapped around his hips, his thrusts passionate. He can feel your warm walls squeezing around him, his hands holding you tightly against his body. "Fuck....I am close.." You hear Levi whisper, his lips trafe your neck before he bites, his cock slamming into you faster. It sends a shiver up your spine, a loud whine escaping your swollen lips.
Levi's lips move from your neck to your jaw and then to your lips, he kisses you sloppily. The passionate thrusts slow down, your pussy clamps down on him as you cum and that's all Levi needs, he pulls out of you just in time and cums all over your sweaty stomach, his head falling on your chest. It takes a few seconds for both of you to settle down, he opens his eyes when you run your hand through his hair.
You two lay like that for a little bit, just enjoying the feeling of each others skin. Eventually, Levi pulls back and looks at you. "We made a fucking mess. Stay I'll be right back." Nodding at his words, you smile as you watch him walk over to his dresser, his hair was a mess and his back had your scratches down his back. He grabs a towel and walks back over to you, without a word, he cleans up your stomach, gently wiping it off. He takes thay time to scan your body up and down, admiring the love bites that he left on your skin.
"You okay?" He asks, Levi knows that he can be rough in bed and he would hate himself if he hurt you accidentally. "All good." You give him a smile that he doesn't return, he never does. Levi nods and stands up before getting dressed, you feel yourself wanting to say something, ask him to stay but it's useless, you won't change his mind. "You're leaving already?" It slips out anyway and you hate how desperate you sound for him to stay.
"Got things to do." His attention isn't on you, he is too focused on getting dressed and adjusting his straps. The moonlight shines through the window, illuminating his skin which soon gets covered by the white fabric of his shirt. He uses your mirror to tie his cravat and fix his hair, by the time he is done, it's like you two never had sex.
Sitting up in bed, you sigh pulling the sheets over your naked body. "We have to talk about it eventually, Levi." There you go again, speaking before thinking, this catches Levi's attention and he turns to look at you while putting on his uniform jacket. "About what?" He knows, he just doesn't want to acknowledge it. "Us, this. All of it." You didn't want to sound angry but it comes out that way, you're frustrated with him and whatever it is going on between you.
Levi rolls his eyes and then sits on the bed to put his boots on. "Told you already, nothing to talk about." It's now your turn to roll your eyes, of course he acts this way when you get to him and you do get to him, more than he would like to admit. "Nothing? Is that way you always run away from it?" You will regret this, you can already tell. "I don't fucking run away from anything. There is nothing to run away from." A slight 'tch' leaves his lips as he stands up from your bed and then looks at you. "Don't fucking push it." He turns around to open the door but something stops him.
"What? Is the door locked?" The sarcasm in your voice makes the tension between you all the more noticeable. Levi doesn't have to turn around to know that you're tearing up, he hates hurting you, it's like a hundred titans bite him all at ones anytime he hurts your feelings. But he can't, there's too much at risk and you deserve better. Its already enough that he gives himself to you for those few hours of passion.
Levi turns around to look at you. "What are the tears for?" His voice is indifferent as if he is talking to anyone, a solider under his command, a stranger on a street, not you. "Nothing." You wipe them off with your hand but another wave of then keeps coming and you feel yourself tearing up again. "Good." He says. "Crying won't change my mind, nor make me stay. I told you that before." You shake your head, you feel like an idiot. "I don't care." The words coming out if your mouth meaning nothing with those tears in your eyes. "Neither do I." And with that he is out of your room, slamming the door behind him.
He made you cry a 100 times before, hurt your feeling a 100 times more but you'll always keep coming back to him. He was poison, venom that keeps going through your veins and no matter how hard you try, you'll never get rid of it.

dawn in the adan.

pair : levi x genneu!reader
warning(s) : just angst, a lot of angst, death, resulted from me listening to dawn in the adan by ichiko aoba at 4am
Tumblr media
people die everyday. with death being a constant presence in your life, you'd thought you would feel numb and desensitized to it by now. oh, you wished you were. such a blessing, yet a curse it is; to feel everything so deeply. you've been told so many times that you care too much, expect too much, for a world that has little to give back in return.
such a big world it is, yet it has little to offer here. you used to lose sleep over it. you used to be unable to understand the fact that no matter what you do, no matter how much "good deeds" you do, the world may not return it in favor. but you still cannot help but feel out of place; you still cannot help but feel like you're out of place, it doesn't feel right. it leaves you empty and unfulfilled.
how are you not supposed to care? it was a question that lured in the back of your mind whenever you saw the death of your dearest comrades in front of you. how are you supposed to not care when you feel even the death of a flower in the deepest part of your heart? what if you died, would they not care for your death either?
ah, that stung. the strong scent the bittersweet whispers of citrus and green floral filled your senses, but only for a second. only for a second, you cared. there was a metallic note amongst the dandelions. blood, the remains of dried and crisp blood of your slaughtered comrades. you are left on your knees in the midst of the aftermath of a bloodbath against the world's biggest enemy.
it's the murmur of dawn. no one is here. well, nobody is damn alive. a bloody fight it was. the distant retreating stars twinkle with pity, almost laughing at the scene before you. you can't take in the sights around you, drowning you. you can't take in this painful, unforgiving scene. you're still alive, somehow. the crisp, cold air fills your dry lungs. as another sunrise rises, the rays once again kiss your scarred skin. a comforting hug from the only warmth you've known.
tomorrow perhaps, maybe in a few years perhaps, there will be nothing to see here here. the charred remains of the people you laughed with will reduce to nothing but stardust returning home to that vast sky. you hear leaves softly crunch behind you, you do nothing to investigate. you're lifeless. maybe you've finally given up. you assume it's that one "special" titan that survived this battle, like you. your dull and overused knees have finally given out from beneath you; you've accepted your spot on the earth beneath you, head laying in a pile of red dyed dandelions.
you can't even react when you feel someone's firm hands meet your head, fingers intertwining with your damp distressed hair. you hope they are here to maybe snap your neck, put you out of your misery. you know they won't, though. even in the end, you know who's burly palms are cradling your head with bittersweet empathy. he'll cradle you his arms, just like all other times you were stricken with grief.
i hear the distinct ancient ocean's song, the small boats of the afterlife are saying something to me, but i can't hear it all.
"y/n," the man says sternly. his tone is stern, yet forgiving. he waits a few seconds for your response, hands tumbling for a better hold on your fragile head. he leans over your body, attempting for a better look of any signs of life. you're still here, eyes twinkling with an unfocused daze, pupils blown wide. like the dandelions, they are red and crushed with defeat. "y/n." he says, you hear the frantic sound of his voice, his other hand coming to shake at your shoulder.
you let out a small umph at the disturbance. you're so sore, you cannot even fathom to touched by the soft breeze. your face feels like it's already been ripped at the seams, eyes heavy and dry. cheeks scarred and dried of tears. my heart flutters then, high in the sky. you cannot move, even with both arms stretched out. are you finally dying?
he seems to have ran out of patience, and despite your sounds of discomfort, he abruptly forces your sensitive body to sit up straight. "you're not dying, y/n," he says to you, but in reality its more like he's trying to tell himself that. his hands paw at your impaled abdomen, trying to fill what is lost. even after this bloody fight, he still has the strength to lift you up into his arms, hanging onto the remains of life in you.
you no longer feel pain, you no longer wail. you don't even feel the once satisfying lull of sleep calling you. the branches and puddles of wet mud crinkle and mush underneath his weak footing. he stumbles a few times before he slip's completely, unable to compete with this unfamiliar terrain. he's still cradling you like all the other times, protecting you from this world. he cups the soft of your cheek with one of his blood soaked hands. you can't even tell if it's your blood.
his nostrils flared with distress, "y/n," he calls out. this place as always been open, but nobody comes. you're still in his arms, head lulled against his chest. his heavy heart singing to you. you remember the many times he swore his heart to you. you find the strength to look up at him, what was a easy task somehow almost a few long seconds to do.
you take in the sight of his sharp cheekbones, his eyes looking down at you. they look scared. what is he scared of? the battle is over. a long time you wait patiently, you wait patiently for the end of your suffering. his eyes are glued to you, not wanting to miss a single second of what could be the last of something so precious.
this is strange to him, to finally have something worth losing. he thought maybe you'd stick around unlike the rest of them. two broken souls, finding comfort and safety in each other's presence. the dull world fades around them, one willingly, one forcibly. his grip on you hides you from the world, having a sense urge to protect what is left.
his body jumps when you take in a sudden surge of air. even with the small intake of air, your chest muscles seem to give up on trying to take in anymore. god, it finally hits you. you're dying. "y/n, please don't die." he whispers, bringing himself to place a shaky kiss on your forehead. you've never heard him beg like that before.
ah, you let out what perhaps might be the last sound you make. your heart pumps weakly, you might not see levi again. is this the way you want to die? you try to move any of your limbs, you try as best you can to escape this unwanted spell. to levi, it just appears you're twitching in pain.
no, you're afraid to die. his hand comes to the small of your back, rubbing quick comforting circles to encourage you. the children across the ocean, awaken with flowers. you're also afraid to live. whose to say you'll live happily, even after this. "y/n, i love you." he chanted. he's just foolishly realized you can't come back from this.
its skin is torn. you'd hoped your last breath was a sigh of relief, intaking the sweet scent of the flowers levi had bought you for the many years you'd been together. what is this? you've ceased movement. you can't even process the droplets of salty tears from above. seawater pouring from it's body.
you last register the devastated sobs of someone. you don't even remember who it was anymore. a beautiful creature. you don't realize it, you're gone. crawling outside.

“Just wait a little longer”
Tumblr media
“I’m home” Levi called out. He had been working late hours now that he inheritited his fathers business, and you have been at home alone studying.
“Love? Where are you?” Levi had begun to search for you throughout your shared apartment after not receiving an answer from his entrance. He walked into your office and saw you sleeping on your desk. Hands crossed and being used as a pillow for your head. He brushed his fingers through your hair and admired your peaceful face.
He knew you were working as hard as you could to earn your degree, but he was worried you had been pushing yourself a little too hard. Levi crouched down to your level and stroked your cheek, whispering your name so you would wake up. He watched as your face scrunched up after a few seconds and how your eyes fluttered open to stare at him in a sleepy daze.
“Levi?”
“Yes love I’m home”
You wrapped your arms around his neck and lightly tugged on his neck hairs to tell him you wanted to be carried. Levi hoisted you up, wrapping your legs around his waist and walked to your shared bedroom so you could take a nap together.
As you and Levi laid together in bed, you cuddled in his chest while he strokes the back of your neck. Fingers lightly tracing circles on your skin, lulling you to sleep. Levi kisses your forehead, and in a barley audible whisper you hear him say “I love you”. You softly smile, but too tired to answer back as you were already asleep a few seconds later.
------------------
“Levi what do you think about kids”. The question had come out of no where, shocking Levi out of his trance. You both were sitting at your dinner table quietly eating and enjoying each others company. The sudden question breaking the silence startles him.
It had officially been a year since you guys moved in together. Twenty year olds still as in love as they were in the beginning and nothing was going to change that.
The question brought back memories from Levi’s childhood. He remembered being sixteen, utterly in love with a girl in his math class, someone he had dated for a year. Freshman to sophomore year they were inseparable. She had asked the same question. Levi being so young and so naive he said he didn’t mind as long as they stayed together.
The relationship ended when he found out she had been cheating on him for three months. It shattered him completely and walls were quickly built.
“I don’t know kids are nice I guess”. That wasn’t the answer you were expecting. Or really you didn’t know what answer you wanted. You liked kids, and you saw kids in your future with Levi. You thought he would be an amazing father.
You only asked the question because you had gotten baby fever from all the Instagram babies you had seen lately.
“Do you want any kids” you tried pressing for a clearer answer from him. Wanting to know his exact thoughts.
“Maybe in the future but it’s too early now”
The answer didn’t hurt your feelings, it made sense. It had only been a year since you moves in with each other and you both were so young. You didn’t know what other answer you were expecting.
“Yea in the future” you gave Levi a soft smile. The atmosphere becoming tense and awkward for the rest of dinner.

this is the first, last and only time i ever write “y/n” in a story. i don’t know why i don’t like using it, but alas. in which Levi mourns the loss of his partner (aka you) after the war has ended. based on “lucy” by skillet.
tw: angst, death.
word count: 777
Tumblr media
The air was cold and crisp as Levi stood alone. Not a single gust of wind seemed to dare blow in the silence around him. In his arms he cradled a bouquet of roses. A dozen of them to be precise. Even with the fallen leaves of late autumn covering most of this place, Levi had known exactly where to go. And there he was, standing in front of what looked to be nothing but a pile of withered leaves. For a moment he just stood there, with this aching tightness in his chest. Like someone had reached past his ribcage and was clenching his entire heart in their fist. A lump forming in his throat.
Levi swallowed hard one time, and then sunk to his knees in the damp grass. Methodically and despite himself, he sat the flowers aside and busied his hands. Fingers bare, the leaves felt clammy against his skin as he brushed them aside. But he didn’t mind. The cold sensation kept the guilt at bay. The stinging in his eyes. With shaking hands, he cleared the leaves off your grave, brushing the few drops of mud off the headstone with your name on it. Once satisfied, Levi gently placed the flowers against your headstone and rose.
The seconds ticked by as Levi stood there and looked at your grave. He swallowed hard more than once. The silence around him was total, and breaking it seemed wrong. But he had words that he knew he needed you to hear. Words he needed to speak. Yet he didn’t know how to form the sentences he needed. More than once he tried, without any sound coming out.
“I remembered your birthday,” he finally said. The moment he spoke, his eyes began to prickle. Levi tipped his head back, blinking a few times, trying to keep the tears from falling. From even forming. A few steadying breaths later, he looked back at you. At where you were supposed to be. Right there in front of him.
“I brought you roses. The white ones. Your favorites.” Levi smiled faintly at you, imagining you to be there with him. “I just came to talk for a while. The war is over. We have peace, but if I had the chance, I would have done it all differently.”
Once the words started forming, they didn’t seem to want to stop spilling over his lips. As he spoke, he didn’t notice the way his hands shook. He didn’t notice the familiar disgust of the dirt on his hands. Because it was for you. In this very moment, his senses flooded with the feeling of missing you. Of his desperately he needed to talk to you, just one last time. And so, the words continued to sound through the cold air.
“I never should have let you join the scouts. And now I only have these damned flowers and they can’t help me make amends for the choices I made.” Levi kept talking, and even as tears started to slide down his cheeks, he kept going. Even as his voice grew thick with crying, he pressed on. “I have to live with those choices that I made, and I can’t live with myself today. I feel ashamed. I never should have let you fight. I’d give up all the world to see you one more time. To have that little piece of heaven looking back at me. I just want to hold you. Just one more time.” His voice cracked and his hands curled into fists down his sides. Biting down, Levi’s jaw tensed and for a moment he just stood. The silence around him was deafening. The night was starting to creep in, painting the graveyard in dark, matching his own troubled mind. He blinked a few times, biting back the tears once more before speaking again.
“They said it’d bring some closure to say your name.” At that moment, Levi felt like his heart was going to break once more. Breathing deep he turned his back to your headstone. His shoulder slumped and he shook his head. He still couldn’t believe that this had happened. That he let it happen.
“I’ll see you in another life. Whether heaven or hell. I’ll see you there in another life, where we never say goodbye. Living the life we could have had. You and me walking hand in hand.” Levi looked back at the grave once more, one single tear following the already wet trail down his cheek. “I’ve gotta live with the choices I made,” he murmured under his breath and started off into the darkness.
“I love you, y/n.”

May 21st, 3:30 am
(reposted)
At this point, you fully believe you might end up with a full blown heart attack if you don’t find Levi within the next few minutes.
You stumble, cursing whatever fucking object that was in your way without even sparing it a glance as you continue your little voyage of finding the man in the middle of the night, one that wasn’t very successful.
If he’s not in HQ, you have no fucking idea where he might be. You looked on the roof, you looked in his quarter, mess hall, stable, Erwin, Hange, no one saw him since sundown.
Leaving Hange to look more around, you hop on your horse and exit HQ with a heavy heart and no destination in mind.
What could’ve happened? Did he get hurt? Did Erwin send him on some secret mission and just lied to you?
No, right? Erwin wouldn’t do that. He wouldn’t do that to you.
Would he?
You let out an audible yell, shaking your head harshly as if to force the thoughts from tumbling over one another. You navigate through the little town, little to no people at all wandering about in this hour. You scan any visible face, any figure you stumble upon, but none of them are familiar. None of them are Levi.
“Please, please, please,” You beg, chest heaving, tight, tight, tight.
You glimpse at the reflection of the moon in the river to your right, feeling your eyes grow heavier with tears.
You didn’t get enough time yet. You didn’t get to tell him how loved he was. You didn’t hold his hand yet, never kissed him, never heard him tell you that he loves you too, never, never enough time. This just can’t be it. It can’t be.
As you pass by it, you remember. The staircase in the town square. You had caught him once there, quickly hiding behind the nearest wall when he saw Eren, Armin and Mikasa approaching with their big eyes and loud, precious dreams.
You remember thinking that you should tease him about it, but as you too, hid behind a wall, only letting your eyes go over the broken-looking man, your heart began to clench in your chest.
He heard them talk about their ambitions that night. How excited Armin is to finally get to experience the outside world, how Eren’s voice gains confidence the more they talk, how Mikasa’s stern voice seemed to soften at her two companions, and you never understand the look on Levi’s face. You just never seem to fucking get anything right when it comes to this man.
You halt your horse at the bottom of the staircase. It’s darker than it usually is, given the time, with only a few oil candles illuminating the area. You get off your horse and squint your eyes, climbing one, two, three steps, now filled with renewed hope that begins to slowly evaporate.
Your heart falters at the little dark silhouette you catch further up the staircase. With a heavy chest, you move closer, the soles of your boots more than enough to announce your arrival to whoever is sitting there, because you see the silhouette tense up from a crouched position, a head tilting your way.
“Please tell me this is you,” You say, but it’s more to yourself than the silhouette. “Captain?”
You are met with silence. Are you imagining things?
You keep climbing, a hand now reaching for the little dagger Levi gave you to keep in your boots. Your fingers clasp around the handle tightly, fingers pulling, but it never makes it out of your boot.
Because once you were close enough, you could see the figure slumping again in recognition, and familiar features finally paint themselves out to you.
You sprint up, then. You fall on your knees between his own, ignoring the pain shooting up your bones as your cradle his face carelessly in your hands. You’re not breathing, you can feel the oxygen slowly run out, but you don’t know how to breathe again.
Frantic eyes move to his neck, to his chest, pushing him back enough to take a good look at his stomach and sides for any sign of injury, but you find none. One hand stays on his cheek while the other weakly slides to his chest as you take in his features again and again and again just to convince yourself that he’s fine.
He’s fine. He’s right here in your arms with a very frantic heartbeat booming in his chest.
But why are his eyes bloodshot?
Why the fuck are his cheeks so red?
“Y/n.”
A gasp of breath finally allows oxygen in your lungs.
“Where have you been?” You can’t even make yourself sound mad. “Why are you here all alone? Do you know how worried I was?”
“Whuh…Why are you crying?” He chuckles.
Levi chuckles.
And it sounds so pleasant. It sounds like it could be your favorite thing in the while world, within the walls or beyond, but something is wrong.
You look around, barely managing to tear your gaze away from the steel, hazy, bloodshot gaze, but you find it. The big green bottle, confirming your speculations.
Levi is drunk.
Levi never drinks.
“Why did you come find me?” Levi asks, calloused hands moving your face by the chin to look back up at him. His touch makes you shiver badly. He looks into your eyes, holds your teary gaze deeply with steel ones, and you don’t know how to reply.
Your mouth opens silently, wishing something would come out, but your voice is stuck in your throat when Levi’s gaze drops down to it.
“Why did it have to be you?” Levi’s voice is quieter as his gaze eventually returns back up to your eyes.
He isn’t pushing you away, why isn’t he pushing you away?
“I was trying to get away from you.”
Echos of your heart shattering can almost be heard. You flinch away from him, shocked eyes pouring into his, physically unable to look away.
“What?”
“Why are you making this so much worse?”
“Making what worse?”
“Me,” Levi chuckles again. “You’re making me worse.”
You involuntarily sit down on your heels, body slumping in utter disappointment.
When you continue to look up at him with that betrayed look, Levi wishes he has more control over his tongue like he usually does.
“You just have to… have to look at me that way, huh? Do you see how you look at me? with that fucking smile of yours, like everything is fine?” He doesn’t understand why his tone is turning angrier. “You… You make me worry. You make me worry about you and… and you make me feel shit I don't wanna feel, Y/n. Shit I never felt. I don’t fucking understand. I don’t understand why it has. to be. you.”
By the end of his little speech, Levi is leaning over you, and you are leaning as far away as possible, a hand planted to the dirty ground for support when your butt settles between your spread heels.
Confused, you try to wrap your head around whatever he just said, and why it doesn’t feel as nice being said in that voice.
“Why is that… such a bad thing?”
Levi’s hand falls from your chin, then.
He leans back, hands falling between his spread thighs limply as he throws his head back with a low laugh, shoulders vibrating with its force. He shakes his head, never sparing you a second glance as he pushes himself up.
Before the man begins to even raise a foot off the ground, a pair of steel grips keep him planted where he is.
Levi looks down at you. You stay on your knees, head tilted up for him to see the twinkle of the moon in your teary eyes. Something stings in his chest so bad that he frowns deeply, fighting the urge to put a hand where yours once was, right on his shattering heart.
“Answer me.” You say, grip tightening on him. “Why would this be a bad thing?”
He barely realizes what was happening until his fingers are firm around your jaw, fingers digging in each cheek. “You wanna know why?” He grumbles through gritted teeth. Wide eyes stare up at him. “Huh?”
Maybe he’d scare you away like this.
But you nod. When he stays silent for too long, you just fucking nod up at him.
It’s so hard, having to say the words aloud for the first time. They get mixed up in his throat and eventually begin to choke him, a vein appearing on his temple as he involuntarily holds himself back, never used to this.
To any of this.
“Why, Levi?” You push, and his heart chatters with the tear that escapes past your lids.
This isn’t the first time he sees your tears, but it’s his first time being the reason they’re falling.
That he knows of, at least.
“You’ll end up just like them.” Levi’s tone is bitter, choked. His fingers tighten around your jaw. “You’ll end up like all of them. I’ll have to see… i’ll have to fucking see you like i saw them. Bloody.” He shakes you slightly but harshly, towering over you. “Broken.” Another shake. “Dead.”
You remain silent, only letting the agony overtake you from the inside, pushing more and more silent tears out of your eyes.
“Like I saw Isabel and Farlan. Like—Like I saw my squad.” You see tears ghost his eyes, but it seems that even drunk, Levi would never allow himself such a thing. “Like I saw her.”
Her?
There was… someone else?
“Luh—Levi…”
“I can still see all of them. I hear all of them.” Agony is overtaking him too. He is lowering to his knees, eyes not meeting yours anymore, bouncing frantically from one thing to another. “I can…I still see her. I see her and… and i just… how fucked up it is that you can remember something so vividly from so long ago?”
His hand loosened on your jaw, falling down to grip the hem of your shirt. He looks up at you after he finishes speaking, eyes so fucking vulnerable that you don’t know what to do with yourself anymore.
“Who is she?” You’re scared of the answer.
Fuck. Fuck, this is too much. He’s revealing too much. That’s just pathetic—
“My…” He trails off, you see him swallow harshly. “My mother.”
Your heart sinks.
“I was a fucking kid. And she was right there. I couldn’t do shit but watch her wither away.”
Your mouth hangs slightly opened, but nothing seems to be courageous enough to come out.
“And I don't. wanna see you like this, Y/n.” Levi’s voice softens. “Don’t make me see you like this.”
Levi keeps looking at you, waiting for something. Anything, or maybe nothing at all. He wishes you would stand up and leave, leave him all on his own just like he was, drunk and sad and alone.
However, he knows you too much to know that this would never happen, no matter just how much he wishes and prays for it.
Wide, desperate eyes lean closer, and your hands are on his cheeks again. You keep your grip firm when he tries to force himself away.
“I won’t, though.” Your voice is way too shaky. “I’m a big girl, you know? I can take care of myself just fine. I always have. I’m strong, you always tell me so, right?”
“Don’t—“
“No, Levi.” Oxygen isn’t being too friendly today. “No. Please. You can train me, I'll become an exact copy of you so I can be even stronger. I’ll do everything you say,” Your voice cracks when he brings up a hand to wrap around one of yours, the skin to skin contact driving you insane. “Please just… let us have this.”
You see the way he tries, and eventually succeeds in wiping away the vulnerability off his face. It almost returns to being stoic like he usually keeps it if it wasn’t for the twist of his lips, as if he is trying to hold himself back.
And he is. With all his might.
“Don’t break us apart, Levi,” You begin to panic when he pulls your hand away. His grip is tight, unyielding. “The world is shitty as it is. Let us have this.”
His eyebrows furrow. He swallows hard, gaze involuntarily dropping down to your lips.
“Please,” A sob breaks through.
And a sob was all it took for him to break, to completely lose control and let his body move on its own, because he has to be a fucking idiot to believe that he wouldn’t do everything you ask of him.
Another sob shakes your body when he finally lets your lips meet, and your arms immediately wrap around his neck, keeping him as close as humanly possible. Calloused hands are now gentle as they hold you, one on your cheek as the other awkwardly wraps around your back.
It’s obvious that it is both of your first kisses, but you’re both surprised by how smoothly it begins to go. Levi angles your head up to him by your jaw and he deepens the kiss, not focusing on one lip rather than just letting his mouth move on its own over yours as you devour each other.
You sigh into the kiss, arms eventually going limp as you lose yourself in his arms, your long awaited dream finally becoming a reality.
You taste like… like you. You taste like tea, the one that you probably had to drink alone because you couldn’t find him, like baked goods you always seem to enjoy a little too much, like warmth, like home, while he tastes like booze.
Now that’s just fucking embarassing.
Levi is the first to pull away, and you chase after his lips like a kiss-drunk fool. He has to put his thumb over your lips as he leans his forehead against yours. You both pant, a pair of eyebrows furrowed while the other remains vulnerable, before you slip through his arms and bury your face in his neck, arms wrapping around him in an embrace.
Levi realizes the reality of the situation when his heart begins to ram a little too much in his chest.
He doesn’t think he’s ever allowed himself to stay in someone’s embrace.
“Thank you,” You sob softly, voice barely above a whisper.
And as he holds you back, a hand going up to your nape to keep you against him, Levi is finally allowing you both the luxury of staying in each other’s embrace. However, as he does so, there is only one question floating in his brain.
What the fuck have I done?
