Alma giggled. “You do.” He looked into the camera, a little shy at first — though his next words came a bit more teasingly. “I could actually prepare better, too, and…have something nice to wear for you.” That got Lavi’s attention. He straightened a bit. “Uh huh? I’m not opposed to this,” he said, pulse quickening as his mind started imagining what Alma might have had in store. Given he did webcamming so much, Lavi knew Alma definitely had some outfits to spare. Alma hummed. A twinge of pink colored his cheeks as he ran his fingers through his hair. “I…did buy a new outfit. I haven’t tried it on for anyone yet,” he said, before looking at the screen. “Do you want to see it?” “Yes.” Lavi’s response came speedily, before his brain had a chance to catch up to his mouth. His ears burned in embarrassment, Lavi awkwardly shifting. “Ah, if you really want to, that is.” Another giggle escaped Alma, amused. “Give me a second.” Lavi nodded, the screen going dark as Alma briefly turned off his camera. He heard shuffling from Alma’s end, though Lavi took the chance to make sure he had locked his bedroom door. Thankfully, he had. A few more minutes passed, Alma’s camera turning back on. He crawled back, Alma sitting on his bed, the sheets slightly rumpled — though he was now changed, wearing what must have been the new outfit he was talking about. And damn, it was hot.

He's reserved, in complete denial for a long while after realizing his own feelings and if you dont confess first he wont EVER, he decided.

However much this man has a resolve of steel though, his thoughts about kissing you DO get out of hand for him. He makes the mistake of ranting to Lavi about it, who won't stop teasing him about it.

Lavi accidentally spills the beans to Allen who goes into complete and utter shock - which pisses Kanda off even more because really, does he honestly seem like the type to be SO incapable of a healthy loving relationship at first glance?! (don't answer that!)

So he practices. A Sunday morning he's standing in the bathroom, looking himself in the mirror and trying to confess. He doesn't even get through one sentence though because talking to himself is absolutely ridiculous. 0/10 won't ever happen again!

Surprise! It does happen again, and again and again.... Almost every day at this point, after brushing his teeth.. He practices how to confess to you!

After he's deemed himself prepared he asks to hang out with you - which isn't an unusual occurence, you've been meditating with him for months now after you showed interest in wanting to learn and started hanging out just the two of you afterwards (you just wanted an excuse to be with him, mostly)

Also he is not even the slightest bit insecure on whether or not you'll reject him. Not because he's that confident but honestly? You’re close with him and he feels like he can read you like an open book. He’s not blind to the way your eyes linger on his lips (at least not blind anymore....)

 "Are you having a stroke?" Alma asked when he walked past Kanda on the couch one day as he was holding back a blush and a smile from reading one of your stupid texts again, "shut up, Alma".

So when the day comes he’s taking you to the meditation room, setting up with you and sitting down next to you. He keeps stealing glances and holding back a smile, knowing what’s about to happen (he gets to try and finally kiss your lips)

He honestly thought of something bigger but he wanted it to be about the two of you. So when you’re both seated and positioned correctly he breathes out an “I’m in love with you, you know.”

He keeps his eyes closed but he hears the way your breath hitches, hears the way you move around your mat and nears him and he’s actively fighting back a blush when he can almost feel your breath on his cheek. He opens his eyes to see you staring right into his, “what the fuck kind of confession is that!?” you ask, almost enraged by the casualty of it - if his words hadn’t been so... heavy, you would’ve thought he was joking. You still fear he is, “don’t mess with me!”

His face scrunches up at your reaction and he’s confused for a solid moment, unsure why you’re mad at him. “You don’t like me back?” he asks, almost confused and brows furrowed. You flop back on the mat with a sigh and even wider eyes, “you’re serious?” you ask again and he leans closer to you, his heartbeat quickening. He lets the blush he was fighting to hold back earlier loose as he gets on his knees to crawl to you, “I’ve never been more serious in my life.”

His hand travels to your cheek and he gently touches it with his thumb, “can I kiss you?”

You stare at him, dumbfounded and gather your strength to nod and lean toward him.

He’s a very gentle kisser! He’s aware of how rough he can be around the edges and wants to be the opposite with you

He doesn’t act like you’re made of glass, though! He will still kick your ass if you train with him! He sees you as a perfect equal and while he won’t admit to it, he likes seeing you riled up - especially if it’s because of him and silly things. If you’re ever sad or frustrated he will support you, though!

His toxic trait is jealousy... I’m sorry but this man is JEALOUS. He’s not possessive per say, but he will glare daggers at the person behind the counter at the supermarket who even remotely sounds like they’re flirting with you. His glare is scary for others to experience. You always smile apologetically to the poor cashier before you leave.

Kanda CARES so much about anniversaries! They’re very important to him - he remembers the days for your first kiss, your first (real) date, first time he slept over as your boyfriend and the day you moved in together. He even wants to celebrate the day he realized he was in love with you!! He’s so precious, he writes them down in both his own calender, yours and the joint one in the kitchen.

Kanda’s love language number 1 is physical touch. His favorite dates are when you’re sprawled out on the couch or the bed, completely entangled in each other, he’s like a cat. It took him a while to admit and even longer to start asking for it but he absolutely adores when you’re fingers rests on his hip, moving in mindless circles as you’re watching yet another film he hates

(”we can turn it off if you hate it so much,” you mutter after the second negative comment about the composition and camera positions (when did he become an expert in move making?) You feel his grip tighten on you, “never.” he mutters as he kisses the top of your head) You guess you’ll never figure out why he enjoys “torturing his eyes with such imagery” every weekend but you don’t complain. His gruff voice close to your ear and the expert cuddles makes up for it.

Kanda also has a soft spot for matching couple outfits.... Nothing wild, just matching sweaters or color coordination! He’s super embarassed about it at first though, grumbles through the entire Christmas dinner where you’re matching but can’t hold back the need to match again at New Year’s! It starts a whole thing for him.

Kanda snores. Loudly. I’m sorry but you can’t convince me otherwise. In the beginning it’s a whole “deal with it!” kind of situation but behind the scenes he’s researching how to help it - he buys one of those nose clips and even tries the anti-snoring nose sprays!

His first priority will forever always be your safety and happiness. So whenever you have arguments that take a stronger turn than friendly bickering, he sits you both down to talk it out and figure out what to do with any problems you might encounter! He doesn’t sacrifice his own principles for you and he expects you to hold to your own as well! That will cause clashes and fights once in a while, but he’ll always be there to hold you when it’s all said and done.

After all, there’s nothing he enjoys more than waking up for his morning workout 15-20 minutes before he has to only to look at you, peacefully asleep next to him, grumbling about the morning sun as you try to crawl into his skin to be closer. It’s home, it’s the love he lives for and there’s nothing better after any rough day than coming back and going to bed with you so he can experience these magical minutes the next morning, right?

HAIIIII alright 3 questions!

Question 1: Outside of any incest/pedo ships, Yu/llen. Never understood it. Never will understand it. They never had any chemistry outside of like. A slowly developing friendship? I especially don't understand people shipping it pre-Alma Karma arc because like they barely even liked each other back then. Also it's very boring in terms of ship tropes, just edgy guy x cinnamon roll and white hair x black hair. It feels like people wanted their trope yaoi rather than the actual dynamic these two have. Also there's too much of it in the Yulma tag and it pisses me off.

Question 2: Basically any ship that isn't Yulma I'm so sorry I'm really boring that way ！Σ(×_×;)! I really think DGM has some really fascinating platonic relationships that deserve a lot more attention than they get (Komui and Lenalee especially) and I find most ships to be a distraction from that. Maybe if their fics were set postcanon but the question is if anyone's surviving long enough postcanon for that. Putting my bets on Lenalee and Lavi surviving and Yuu and Allen dying. Not ready for it.

Question 14: Tbh since the fandom is so quiet there isn't really much for me to say but I guess the usual thing about shipping and character misinterpretation. People focus too much on ships and the tropes they associate with them sometimes instead of the actual characters. However, I think the fandom has vastly improved as now we don't see Lenalee hate for getting in the way of an M/M ship and are more willing to explore her complexities (can you tell I love Lenalee. I love Lenalee.)

What is a rare pair:

Rare pairs include any pairing that does not appear on the AO3 auto-fill for Relationship selection in the Sort and Filter option. (AKA, not a popular ship).

What is not a rare pair:

Hi, I've been down and out of sorts lately and find myself crying and worrying over everything, I don't have the motivation to do my work and everything feel muted. Can I request a comfort Headcanons for Allen, Lavi and Alma. Thanks

((I went through some stuff too so I hope these will help!!!)

Allen:

He’s freaking out really badly on the inside

Considering all the things that has happened to him in his life, he knows first hand just how lost someone can be

But he’s not very good at comforting compared to people like Lavi and Lenalee

He’d be the type to listen to everything and empathize with you (nodding, agreeing, and even crying)

He’d stick you for a while the moment he hears about any dilemma you’re facing (and if you’re alright with it, he’d stay with you and keep you company)

Definitely try to help you overcome any negative feelings first and foremost, mainly through talking and stress relieving activities (he knows exercise and sparring work pretty well)

His gentlemanly actions becomes 100x more gentler and kinder (mostly because he knows how fragile people can be in their times of need)

He’s 100% ready to do anything for you ex. You want food? He’s running through the halls to the dining room. You want to take a nap? Allen’s bed is ready. You want to just sit with Allen for a while? Done deal, he’s locked the door and put a “Do Not Disturb” sign up.

“You aren’t ever alone, always remember that, and if you ever feel like you do, know that I’m always going to be there next to you.”

Lavi:

He would want to hear what’s wrong and how you’re personally feeling

If you don’t want to talk, he’d prefer being the “I’ll sit with you in silence and just be here for you” type of person

If you want to talk, he’s sitting with you through your entire explanation rubbing circles around your back or just simply holding you in his arms

Your comfort is his top priority and he makes sure your needs are perfectly taken care of while he listens

He personally doesn’t really know how to deal with internal pain and suffering, however, so he doesn’t really know which is better: helping you overcoming over them or simply helping you cope with them better

He ends up doing a bit of both: listening and giving advice but also assuring you that everything you think you might be might actually be wrong (e.x. If you don’t think you’re good enough, he’ll assure you that you’re definitely not “good” because you’re always “prefect”)

After talking or no talking, he’d coax you into relaxing with a nap

He knows how draining internal battles can be, and especially having dealt with them for a while means you must be absolutely drained

“The future might look bleak now, but if you’ll let me, I’ll do everything in my power to change that for you.”

Alma:

He would find the idea of chatting very comforting

Whether it would be about your feelings or even about your previous adventures, he’d want to talk about anything

He’s basically like those kind of people who could sit there for hours and either listen or ramble for long periods of time

His favourite thing to talk about would be funny stories and anything about the interests he shares with you

He would talk and talk on and on about everything that makes you smile to help you momentarily forget about the pain and sadness you feel

He would never try and completely erase the sadness you feel (he knows that sadness is a part of living, but he wants to become the person who can help alleviate that pain)

Usually be relaxing in his room or yours (anywhere quiet and private where it would be perfectly fine to randomly start laughing really loudly)

Would always try to make you feel comfortable (bring tissues, cover you with a blanket, hold your hand, etc.)

💔 Is there a fic of yours that broke your heart?

Not necessarily — but I feel like when I write fics, I’m usually trying to cure my own heartache (especially if writing for DGM, because woosh, canon hurts enough XD). There are definitely scenes that have broken my heart (Alma waking up at the end of The Chime of a Crystalline Flower and questioning if Kanda was real definitely broke me). I haven’t finished writing it, but I do think the ending of Songbirds in Winter is going to be a knife to the heart. There’s definitely going to be a tragic element to how things play out between many of the characters, so that might be the fic to do it. >.<

😅 What’s a story or scene you’ve created that you’re a smidge embarrassed exists?

Somehow I felt it in my bones this would be asked if anyone sent me anything. XD So, I do have some things I’m really embarrassed about but I actually haven’t posted them all to my AO3. >.> Some of my really kinky things I just haven’t mustered the courage to post, but maybe one day. :3 (Tbh, I have some ideas for fics with the sex pollen trope, but aaaa. I need to be braver. LOL.) HOWEVER, as I work on some scenes for Songbirds in Winter, some spicy bits have definitely made me blush. X3 In terms of what I have shared, the one thing that probably embarrassed me the most is making Alma a webcam model in my Lavi x Alma fic, A Chance Encounter. Otherwise, maybe some of my older fics because ayeeee, my grammar and sentence structure when I started writing was not it. XD

🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?

Sometimes! Depending on what I’m writing, I might listen to something on a loop or opt for silence, but generally if I listen to anything while writing, it’ll be instrumental/without lyrics. Since I’m working on Songbirds in Winter and it’s a Romeo and Juliet AU, I’ve been listening to Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet score. (Specifically, I’ve been listening to the Balcony Scene/Love Dance and Juliet’s Funeral/Death — the last 3 minutes of the latter piece probably encompass the mood of the story the most and where it’s heading, so it’s been something I’ve been returning to a lot lately.

🍷 Do you drink and write?

I did a few times in the past, but not so much anymore! Mostly because I haven’t been drinking wine much anymore lately. Every once in a while I might, but I tend to drink a lot of tea to help me focus. :3

Absolutely! The following is from (surprise) Songbirds in Winter for a chapter I’m currently working on. >.> A little spice to tickle your fancy. <3  ~~~ Breaths rapid. Body trembling. He was below him, eyes clouded and lips parted with flushed skin. “T—Tyki,” he pleaded, voice quivering with need. “Tyki, please, please—" The memory did not even play out in full, a shudder threatening to ripple through Tyki’s body. Still lying on his back, he ran his hands over his face. Did he need a smoke? He had snuck one before dinner, but felt a little on edge, need and want creeping into his veins like a poison slowly spreading. He just couldn’t stop thinking. He couldn’t stop thinking about Alma. He opened his eyes, Tyki sitting up. He felt unusually riled, his energy restless, the alpha standing as he walked over to a coat hanger in the corner of his room, his worn, older cloak that he normally used still hanging up. Without a second thought, Tyki snatched it, taking it back to the bed as he sat on the edge. Bringing the fabric to his face, he inhaled. The scent was mostly his own musk mixed with the remnants of nicotine, but faintly there was another scent — a little light, more floral. Alma’s scent. It was nowhere near enough, the residual scent minimal. A twinge of frustration brimmed within Tyki, a small part of himself wishing that Alma’s scent had lingered longer. He had noticed Alma’s scent before when their paths had crossed, but last night… Heat seeped low into his gut, Tyki’s pulse quickening. The restless energy inside him continued to fester, the alpha shifting his body on the bed. Still holding his cloak close, he inhaled once more, trying to savor what remained of Alma — flowers and sugared pomegranates, spring amongst winter.

How about Kanda, Lavi and Alma being faced with a blind date? Could you please do how they would react to it?

(Real talk though, AUs where Alma never “died” and grew up with Kanda and they both became Exorcists is my fucking jam so this was a god damn blessing in my inbox, thank you. And, well, obviously these will be answered in that AU.)

Kanda obviously did not want to have anything to do with this but it was all Alma’s fault. He’s the one that set it up.

He also had zero intention of showing up. He had to be physically dragged there and then pushed roughly over to you.

He is not happy at all. This reflects poorly on the date. I’m so sorry you got lumped in with this pretty asshole.

Your the one trying the hardest on the date. It’s just not working out that well. 

After the date he confesses that he didn’t want to do this and if he wants to ask you on a date he’d do it himself. If you made a good impression on him, he may just do it then and there. You might not accept it though, given he didn’t care about the date you were already on.

Lavi is very surprised when he’s been told it’s been set up. But other than that initial surprise, he’s pretty chill.

He hasn’t been on many blind dates before but he isn’t going to let the fact that he doesn’t know who it’s going to be spoil the date.

He’s really nice the whole date. You can tell he’s holding back, though. It’s mostly him testing the waters with you. He’s more of an observer, as he wants to get to know you while not giving to much away himself.

It actually ends up being a pretty good date! You wish you could have learned more about him, though.

If he liked you enough, he’ll ask you out on another date. You’d take this chance and spend the next date trying to get more out of him than what he gave today.

Alma is shook when he finds out. He’s super excited that’s for damn sure. 

He shows up like an hour early just in case you decide to show up early as well. Also his nerves made it impossible for him to wait any longer.

It’s a really fun date, all in all. He doesn’t tell you much about his past, but other than that he tells you anything you want to know.

He’s shy the entire time. He always asks before he does anything, like hold your hand. He’s a proper gentleman, holding doors open and pulling out your chair.

Would absolutely ask you to go out on another date with him. But he gets really excited when he asks so he has to backpedal and try to play it off cool but he’s blushing and it’s cute.

Hunger Games DGM (cuz I saw someone do it and it looked fun)

As the tributes stand on their podiums, the horn sounds. Road and Winters fight for a bag. Winters gives up and retreats. Johnny grabs a backpack and retreats. Fou finds a bag full of explosives. Lenalee stays at the cornucopia for resources. Lvellie runs away from the Cornucopia. Bookman runs away from the Cornucopia. Bak runs away from the Cornucopia. Kanda runs away with a lighter and some rope. Tyki Milk runs away from the Cornucopia. Miranda scares Timothy Hearst away from the cornucopia. Lavi clutches a first aid kit and runs away. Klaud grabs a sword. Alma stays at the cornucopia for resources. Krory runs away from the Cornucopia. Earl cannot handle the circumstances and commits unalive. Anita runs away from the Cornucopia. Tiedoll runs away from the Cornucopia. Cross stabs Allen while his back is turned. (wtf Cross!?!) Reever runs away from the Cornucopia. Link finds a bow, some arrows, and a quiver. Komui grabs a backpack and retreats. Cross diverts Lavi's attention and runs away. Klaud hunts for other tributes. Road receives fresh food from an unknown sponsor. Tiedoll runs away from Lvellie. Bookman receives clean water from an unknown sponsor. Anita steals from Lenalee while she isn't looking. Johnny, Alma, Reever, and Krory track down and kill Bak. (Oh whoa they had it out for Bak) Link explores the arena. Kanda sets Tyki Milk on fire with a molotov. (poor Tyki Milk RIP) Timothy Hearst thinks about home. Winters, Komui, Miranda, and Fou hunt for other tributes.

Night 1

Miranda lets Alma into her shelter. Anita severely slices Winters with a sword. Komui cries himself to sleep. (seems legit) Bookman tries to treat his infection. Tiedoll tries to treat his infection. Lenalee receives clean water from an unknown sponsor. Reever and Johnny huddle for warmth. (ahahaha gay) Lvellie is awoken by nightmares. (He deserves it) Link and Fou tell stories about themselves to each other. Kanda, Klaud, Lavi, and Timothy Hearst tell each other ghost stories to lighten the mood. (Kanda and Klaud to? Nice) Road stays awake all night. Cross sees a fire, but stays hidden. Krory receives an explosive from an unknown sponsor. Day 2

Reever forces Miranda to kill Road or Krory. She decides to kill Krory. (nooo) Tiedoll questions his sanity. Lavi, Lvellie, Anita, Link, and Johnny hunt for other tributes. Lenalee receives a hatchet from an unknown sponsor. Komui scares Alma off. Timothy Hearst picks flowers. (awhhh) Bookman receives fresh food from an unknown sponsor. Fou and Kanda work together to drown Cross. (that’s what you get for stabbing your apprentice in the back you ass). Klaud camouflauges herself in the bushes.

Night 2

Bookman severely slices Fou with a sword. Tiedoll goes to sleep. Miranda receives a hatchet from an unknown sponsor. Komui questions his sanity. (didn’t know he had that) Road stays awake all night. (baby girl get some sleep wtf this is two nights now) Alma and Link talk about the tributes still alive. Timothy Hearst bashes Reever's head against a rock several times. (OMFG this child is not one to be messed with) Anita climbs a tree to rest. Lvellie forces Lavi to kill Klaud or Kanda. He decides to kill Klaud. Johnny and Lenalee run into each other and decide to truce for the night.

Day 3

Lavi, Lvellie, Alma, Link, and Timothy Hearst hunt for other tributes. Tiedoll dies from hunger. (seriously wtf man) Road explores the arena. Kanda constructs a shack. Bookman attacks Johnny, but he manages to escape. Lenalee receives a hatchet from an unknown sponsor. Komui receives medical supplies from an unknown sponsor. Miranda travels to higher ground. Anita discovers a river.

(Dead, Tiedoll, Klaud, Reever, Fou)

Night 3

Johnny receives a hatchet from an unknown sponsor. Komui tends to his wounds. Lvellie starts a fire. (I hope you burn) Bookman and Kanda sleep in shifts. Anita tends to her wounds. Alma tends to his wounds. Lavi, Road, and Timothy Hearst cheerfully sing songs together. (cute) Link convinces Lenalee to snuggle with him. (Link x Lenalee???) Miranda cries herself to sleep. (Seems legit)

Day 4

Bookman camouflauges himself in the bushes. Lenalee dies from an infection. (wtf!!!!) Lavi tries to spear fish with a trident. Anita, Alma, Road, and Lvellie raid Komui's camp while he is hunting. (eheheheh) Link discovers a cave. Timothy Hearst discovers a river. Kanda scares Miranda off. Johnny accidently detonates a land mine while trying to arm it. (Crap)

Arena Event

A monstrous hurricane wreaks havoc on the arena. Bookman tries to save Miranda from being sucked into the hurricane, only to be sucked in as well. Kanda stabs Timothy Hearst, then pushes him close enough to the hurricane to suck him in. (fucking rude yeeting the baby into the hurricane Kanda) Road is sucked into the hurricane. Lavi tries to save Anita from being sucked into the hurricane, only to be sucked in as well. Alma is incapacitated by flying debris and dies. Komui survives. Link survives. Lvellie survives. (ewww)

(Dead: Johnny, Lena, Lavi, Anita, Bookman, Timothy, Miranda, Alma, Road)

Night 4

Komui cooks his food before putting his fire out. Link attempts to start a fire, but is unsuccessful. Kanda goes to sleep. Lvellie dies from thirst. (Thank god).

The Feast

The cornucopia is replenished with food, supplies, weapons, and memoirs from the tributes' families. Komui bleeds out due to untreated injuries. Kanda stabs Link while his back is turned.

2015? when gene told me about it and dgm hallow was gonna come out the next summer so i wanted to prepare 

• Who’s your favorite character?

allen....... (hence my username LOL)  love his character design but his whole personality is just - something i can really relate to and understand wholeheartedly. i would protect him with my life.   kanda is a close second- his character development and design from the alma arc to now? *chefs kiss* love this kiddo!

tyki - very sexii complex character. i think a major development is gonna happen with him in the near future. 

• Who’s your least favorite character? lvellie- never takes accountability for anything and has an awful personality. selfish, cruel, and i wish him a very unpleasant die evening :)  renny- after everything that happened with alma, she still chose to go ahead and do the third exorcist project. same as lvellie, never takes accountability for anything and is an idiot.  tui and edgar chang- believing in experimenting and torturing children for the gains of war? nah fck that man. they were all terrible people. not to mention, they were horrible parents to bak and neglected him for most of his life.  you can defend edgar all you want but he still was a bystander in all this. he didn’t have to be a pushover for his wife. he still could’ve said something to stop it all. anyways im sorry bak you had to deal with that. 

overall these people do not take responsibility for anything and believe in the “whatever it takes to win this war!” mentality even if it means doing inhumane procedures. 

chaozii- he’s so stubborn and i hate his attitude. also i hate his black/white mentality where he won’t listen to any logistics or reasoning. super thickheaded and annoying tbh.  sheril- im sorry but........he’s such a karen LOL ( hes just fun to make fun of)

it’s a tie between tiedoll and klaud. love these two so much.  cross wasn’t too bad either tbh- yeah he’s kinda a deadbeat and could’ve treated allen better but we know that he regards allen as his own child deep down inside and there’s def something up with him in the newer chapters that are about to come out. 

• Who’s a character you would get along with?

allen, lenalee, lavi, and prob johnny (best boi)  also would love to be friends with alma (if he was alive today and none of that ever happened to him :,) he’s the sweetest baby)

TOO MANY rewinding city where they meet miranda!  phantom thief g in paris was fun  seeds of destruction (alma) arc- i cry everytime  searching for allen walker/saying goodbye - the artwork here is stunning. i know people complain it’s “too shoujo” and “girly” looking but tbh? i think it looks amazing. the details are so incredible and you can tell hoshino really took her time getting every little detail drawn on point.
