I noticed that you went to the GO2 early screening. As someone else who went to an early screening (the NYC one a week and a half earlier) and then later disliked GO2 when I watched the whole thing... did you have a positive or negative feeling about the new season after only seeing the first two episodes?

(Personally, I was cautious and a bit skeptical but pretty optimistic. In retrospect I genuinely think those two episodes were better than most of the rest of what we got, and watching further ended up really disappointing me.)

To be honest I actually immediately disliked the setting that Aziraphale and Crowley met and knew each other as angels, overthrowing the start of the book. I tried having a little hope that maybe they had different forms at the time and genuinely don't remember this interaction they had but no, immediately in episode 2 Aziraphale calls out that he remembers Crowley as an angel. Also, I got really worried at the fact that Heaven noticed that the miracle that Aziraphale and Crowley performed together was super strong -- I thought it would lead up to a reveal that Crowley is actually someone super important in heaven (not the Crowley is Raphael theory...) so I spent the first half of episode 2 worrying with a sinking feeling in my stomach. But I still thought I would give the rest of the season a chance and see if it's overall solid and I was worrying over nothing, and the small things I didn't like are small enough to be overlooked, just like I did with season 1. Oh well.

on the second weekend of january an aunt passes away on the third week of january an uncle passes away you'd never guess what happened on the last weekend of the month... a cousin passes away

#all on my mothers side such a cool month #hope this doesn't prolong til february #i hate going to mass but funeral masses are just awful specially if you're a nonbeliever receiving dirty looks from the old christian ladie #my uncle's funeral was particular in the sense where the were no gravediggers in the village and the people who dug the grave did it wrong #and as you can imagine the coffin didn't fit so they had to dig the grave three times for the coffin to fit in front of the family mind you #which was surreal might i add #when they came to take measurements of the coffin again during the wake i legit thought what if the coffin doesn't fit after all this #little did i know #for the sake of mental health i'm not going to the cousin's funeral and also we weren't close since he was an older man and i rarely saw #his part of the family but my mom will probably go since she liked him and he's closer in lineage wise (idk if that how you say it...)#i feel like lineage is the wrong word but he's like a 4th to 5th degree cousin to me #anywayssss

So there’s 2 main character relationship dynamics in ‘Wynonna Earp’ that are significant to talk about that give you an explanation as to why I love it so much.

What’s significant about them is that they’re both between women but one is platonic, one is romantic.

You’ve got the Earp sisters character dynamic between Wynonna and Waverly. Which is a deep and impactful relationship because they’re all they have in their lives when it comes to family. Just each other.

You’ve got the WayHaught character dynamic between Waverly and Nicole. Which is a relationship that gets deeper and deeper with every season until they’re so all in with each other that they get married.

You just do not get female character-driven, focussed and centric relationship dynamics like this in TV art/entertainment anymore. Especially not within the supernatural/fantasy genre. ‘Wynonna Earp’ stands out among the masses as truly women-led and WLW represented art/entertainment that reminds me of the 90’s cult classics of ‘Xena’ and ‘Buffy’ and ‘Charmed’. That’s why it made it on to my phone alongside them. I mean it has its own unique and original style and vibe with it being a country western, but it honestly does feel like a blend of all of my favourite shows of all-time and so I’m not surprised that I’ve fallen in love with it. How could I not when it has everything I love all at once? All of what I am passionate about in 1 show?

It’s a supernatural/fantasy genre show which is practically the only thing I care to watch anyway.

Strong women that aren’t a copy and paste rendition of supernatural hero archetypes that are usually men.

Strong and substantial WLW/queer representation

Deep platonic and romantic character relationship dynamics between female characters that all get individual focus with careful and conscientious writing in their own respective individual character story arcs.

the only thing that i can think of is when i was in london last year and managed to see paul mescal in a streetcar named desire (which was pretty surprising all in itself because the show was sold out and we got tickets literally 3 minutes before the play started), i saw julienne moore walking down the street outside the theater right after the show
