Foolish has a heart he can give away easily and freely, because that’s what men like Foolish are. He lives his life with joy in his step and the recklessness of youth running through his marrow.
Foolish lives his life freely, but that didn’t mean getting heartbroken was any less painful than it was the first time.
(He thought Vegetta was the one, that the man could be trusted with his heart, now that he claimed it so spectacularly.
Foolish could swear up and down that he’d never cheat on Vegetta, though he guessed Vegetta didn’t think the same.)
“Fuckin’ cheater…” He growled to himself, sitting in a dingy bar with no one for company. Quackity had left a long time ago, dark eyes shining with worry and hesitance as he called out to Foolish.
“Sorry I can’t stay back with you man” He had offered then, “But my girl’s waiting at home and I promised myself to be a better parent.”
Foolish had nodded, trying to read the label of a bottle he had taken from the shelf, distantly wondering why his eyes couldn’t focus properly.
Now, he’s staring down at the bottle in his hands, on the verge of another outburst.
“Foolish, are you in here?” A familiar voice crooned, padded feet walking upon chilled wood before the totem heard the chair screech across from him. “You really hadn’t left?”
Foolish growled, lessening his grip on the bottle before he broke it. “The fuck you want, Bad.”
It said a lot that Bad didn’t even reprimand him for cursing. “I wanted to check on you, Quackity told me that you were drowning your sorrows at the bar and all.”
“Don’t want your company.” Foolish muttered, taking a swig of the bottle. “Let me drown my sorrows in peace.”
“Well, fine. But if you wanna talk, I’m right here.” Bad said, taking another bottle on the table and pouring himself a shot.
It was silence for barely an hour, occasionally broken my the clink of glass and sniffles of a man barely holding himself together. Finally, Foolish spoke.
“Fucker cheated.” The totem took another swig of his glass. Bad hummed in confusion.
“Who?”
“Fucking Vegetta, who else?!” Foolish barked out, slamming the bottle onto the table. “He fucking cheated on me! With Diablo!”
“The devil?” Bad muttered, barely holding himself together. “But you cheated first, why are you so upset?”
Foolish hissed, the clouds thundering in response to the man’s anger. “How many times do I need to tell you that I didn’t kiss Mariana? He wanted to kiss me!”
“You’re right, you’re right.” Bad soothed, pouring Foolish a shot before downing his own drink. “That’s not the most important thing right now, what happened?”
“I told him about the Mariana thing, wanted to solve it before you guys poisoned his head.” Foolish mumbled, slurring his word like speaking was exhausting. “He said it was fine, said he kissed his ex just today. That he felt better now that it wasn’t cheating, cause it’s a two-way street.”
(Foolish remembered how it felt, hearing the words come out of that man’s mouth. How his face twisted into a weird smile as his eyes shine with relief.
“Then it’s fair game, no?” He had joked. “I can kiss my Osito fiu fiu now too, seeing as you’re kissing Mariana.”
And Foolish, who’s been stressed and tired and seeking comfort from the accusations and the backtalk, hoping for some kind of sympathy from his lover, had gotten his heart shattered.
And something in him, something like the person he strives to be, the man that laughed and smiled and cheered with joy and ignored the cracked vestiges of his own heart, the man that used to enjoy sleeping around and didn’t believe in the shame of having multiple partners.
The man that loved his daughter and his husband, the man that hoped to be the father he hadn’t been before the End, the man that smiled at Leonarda and ignored how similar she was to his other kids.
The man that wanted to experience a life worth living.
That man had snapped.)
Bad winced. “Yeah, ok. I can see why you’re angry.”
“No you fucking don’t, Bad.” Foolish growled, the bottle breaking underneath his fingers and the world thundering beneath his anger. “You’re one of the first to accuse me of cheating. I don’t trust a single shit you spew out of your mouth.”
Bad grimaced, before smoothing out into a placating smile. “No need to be so angry, now I stand corrected, okay? I’m 100% sure you never cheated on Vegetta.”
“And how do I trust you?” Foolish hissed. “Despite our history together Bad, I’d trust you as much as I trust a stick to defend me against a creeper. We may be friends here, but let’s not forget the amount of shit you’ve thrown at me during our time as friends.”
Bad physically flinched at that, before he smiled kindly and tried to convince Foolish. “Look, I know I made really bad decisions for as long as we’ve known each other, but I promise you that I believe you didn’t cheat.”
“And why the change of tune?” Foolish raised a brow, wiping his hand with a napkin. “Thought you’d say shit about how I used to hop around all the damn time.”
“Well, I know how faithful you are to Leonarda.” Bad offered, his white eyes ever piercing in the darkness of the bar. “You’ve been nothing but good to her, and she loves you! If she trusts that you haven’t cheated, then you haven’t.”
“Besides,” Bad continued. “ You’ve never been this heartbroken when someone cheated on you after you cheated on them.”
Foolish grinned, a mean thing with too many teeth and eyes too bright. “Damn right.”
“It’s just fuckin’ unfair.” Foolish then said, taking a swig from the mountain of bottles on the table. “I have to deal with people believing I’m a cheater. Meanwhile my own damn husband is cheating on me with a demon and faces no damn consequences. While I have to wake up every morning and hear people’s whispers behind my damn back!” He growled.
Bad nodded in sympathy, silently vowing to never speak of the cheating allegations ever again. “Yeah, I can see why you’d be upset.”
“It’s unfair, Bad! Unfair cause no one believes me besides my daughter! No one! There is no one on my side in this damn server!” He threw the bottle, watching it break and take a wall with it.
“Well, I am.” Bad comforted. “I’m on your side now too.”
“You move in accordance to the damn drama, Bad.” Foolish glared. “I don’t trust you to have my back.”
“I will.” Bad promised. “You are the only person I’ll trust on this server, in this life and the next, it’ll be you and I. Always.”
“How do I know you wouldn’t just stab me in the back like you used to?” Foolish snapped, grumbling as he fixed the walls of the bar.
“Because you and I have history, didn’t you say?” Bad offered. “We’re old beings, Foolish. Older than Philza and everyone on this server combined. You and I are the only people to keep our memories, Phil doesn’t even know.”
“How can I turned my back on you after everything we’ve gone through together? I don’t leave comrades behind that easily.”
Foolish laughed. “I told you Bad, I’m not that man anymore. I’m trying to change.”
“You’re trying pretty badly then.” Bad chimed. “Don’t think I didn’t see that red in your eyes.”
Foolish froze, before his hands carefully began mending the broken wall. “Don’t you think it’s time for you to drop that nice guy act in front of me? I know your true colors.” Bad offered.
“It’s not like you really want to return to it right now, mr. Favored.”
“I’m not.” Foolish glared, sitting back down at the table and taking another swig. “I’m not favored anymore.”
“You are.” Bad hummed.” The old you hasn’t been gone for that long, it’s only been, what? A couple hundred years? The gods would’ve punished you by now if they didn’t like you so much.”
Foolish rolled his eyes. “What’s the point, Conqueror Halo?”
“Not the conqueror just yet.” Bad refuted. “And I’m just a guy comforting his friend during his moment of weakness. What’s wrong about that?”
“We both know you aren’t doing this out of just the kindness of your heart.”
“Ah, you got me there.” Bad giggled, his star-bright eyes flashed that familiar shade of red. “I wanted you to come join me again.”
“…what?” Foolish muttered.
“You heard me.” Bad chuckled. “I wanted us to be partners in crime again, the Conqueror and the Favored, the duo that strikes fear into mortal hearts. We could be great again, fight like we used to fight, no more relationships, no more cheating, none of the friendships that end in betrayal. Just us, traveling together and destroying the world.”
“We have kids.” Foolish pointed out, though he didn’t deny he was interested. “I can’t leave Leonarda, you can’t leave Dapper.”
Bad nodded, solemn and understanding. “I meant after the dragon takes her kids back, when all of them are grown up and can take care of themselves. We can leave then.”
Foolish thought about it. It was an enticing offer, he didn’t have to play the stupid man that threw his heart away with ease, that loved only to get it broken and bounced back like relationships were just flings.
He could be the person he used to be, that golden totem with gods nipping at his heels, whispering nectar in his ears and gifting him everything in exchange for chaos and a chance to capture his hand.
He could.
“I think you know my answer.” Foolish decided. Like it was some kind of confirmation, Bad had grinned. “I’m so glad to see you again, Favored.”
Later, when Vegetta sees Foolish, he’ll wonder about the dark glint in the totem’s eyes, ponder on how he changed from the soft and bright man to the man with dark eyes and sharp smiles.
Vegetta would wonder about the blank eyes that look at him, the smile that seemed bright like fluorescent lights, the undercurrents of resentment twisting the air.
He’d wonder what he’s done wrong as he watches Foolish play with their daughter, their cheer as bright as it’s ever been despite the ever-present chill in their home. He’d wonder as he realized that Foolish stopped smiling so warmly at him, that the man seemed to go out of his way to avoid Vegetta.
He’d wonder where he screwed up as Foolish talked with Bad more often, as Leonarda became lightly hesitant around him.
He’d wonder and only knew where he messed up when Foolish smiled for the last time, his emerald eyes alight with bloodlust as the seas turned red, a familiar bear head laying beneath the totem’s feet.

[Blows the dust off this blog] Long time no see...
Back in the Danganronpa pits... have some silly doodles for an...AU? or like, slight canon divergence/missing scene? I got to chapter 5 in my THH replay and was thinking about the part where these four are alone in the gym dismantling Monokuma all night.
I know realistically it's supposed to be because they were paranoid and extra careful about taking it slow so nothing went wrong... but like... their alibi is from 10pm to 7am? In my heart of hearts it actually took the whole night because they kept getting distracted and chit-chatting and got into a bunch of shenanigans once the actual dismantling part was done. Like Byakuya says they went to the bathroom in pairs?? Not to mention you'd totally expect him to make a comment about how insufferable it was being stuck together for like nine hours. And Hina says they played rock paper scissors to decide who brought back breakfast???
You can't tell me they didn't bond at least a little bit. A friend pointed out it'd have the vibes of a 4am discord call and that's exactly it. Emotional confessions about personal fears and insecurities to dumb physiological debates that become inside jokes forever. Etc.

doing some more thinking about castti's story (and also indirectly throne's lmao)
spoilers for end game
The thing I've been mainly trying to make sense of tho is how Eir's Apothecaries got their bad rep in the first place. I could understand if they were mainly situated on the eastern continent and had some seriously bad luck with some patients to the point nasty rumors spread about them over to the western continent but they've been shown that they travel back and forth between both continents so it makes me ???? thinking about the people in Canalbrine and their rumors.
So I'm thinking something like Castti and Trousseau arrive at Lostseed, meet Claude, he convinces Trousseau over to his side but not Castti, and so Claude does something like orders the Blacksnakes to spread rumors about Eir's Apothecaries at first and maybe Trousseau afterward fanned the flames himself (haha) after what happens at Healeaks (and I also assume other not named small villages we around the mountains were taken out and people visiting put two and two together when they saw what happened at Healeaks)
I think there's also a strong possibility that Claude might have also done something like ordered an assassination of Castti since he immediately recognizes her inner strength unlike Trousseau but idk it fails and so he makes them spread the bad rumors about Eir's Apothecaries as a result to undermine them, which is the information that reaches Canalbrine. If we assume that Malaya is actually the same person in Partitio's Chapter 1 (and not just some other apothecary using the same sprite), we could say she most likely came over from the Crackridge harbor instead of going through Canalbrine (and would have most likely dispelled/addressed the rumors)
anyway this is my super elaborate set-up for a pre-canon fic where Throne gets tasked to assassinate Castti after she comes out of Lostseed and eventually decides against doing the job because she's gay she disagrees for whatever reason and then the rest of the game happens

Ninjago Fic Rec Week: Day 2
Prompts: AU+Movieverse/Jay Recs! *vibrates at the thought of Jay content*
AU/Movieverse Recs:
if you could date any of the ninja, which one would you date?: Lloyd experiences the world's worst second-hand embarrassment and the rest of the ninja absolutely are not helping. Not actually shippy, just really funny and Lloyd has a (mostly) light-hearted hard time.
Reference Letters: Kai is tasked with recruiting some fresh talent to the Secret Ninja Force, and what starts as a joke to welcome Lloyd Garmadon into the squad turns into a genuine crusade for his friendship. The Green Ninja, however, is having none of that. (It goes exactly how you expect it to and gah it's beautiful. Kai and Lloyd duo forever!)
Who's the New Guy? He Looks Awfully Green: Movieverse fic in which Lloyd is the last to become a ninja, and the last to learn everyone else's identities. It's full of team-bonding (collectively and one-on-one!), hilarious Wu moments, and Movie!Lloyd being Movie!Lloyd ;w;)/
Jay Recs:
Unfortunately, You're Amazing: Jay faces the dilemma of *maybe* possibly kinda sorta having a small little totally non-consequential thing for Samurai X. But beyond that Jay just gets to be his dorky, smart, snarky, easily impressed self and it's so fun and delightful to read, I go back to it all the time!
Play to Win: An au/ canon divergent whump fic where Jay and Cole are roped into a round of Scrap-N-Tap...and that description does NOT do it justice, but if you like emotional tension, a heaping of personal distress, and a Jay who is unfortunately one step ahead of everyone else, you'll love this. Probably not for the faint of heart, definitely for the angsty daredevils (such as myself)
Jay and the Important Differences Between Spider Pokemon: Pokemon AU that explores Jay's "perplexing" fear of spiders post S6. A fascinating and fun idea for a plot, plus, there's Pokemon. it's all good stuff!
And She Wore Blue, Right?: Jay starts suddenly having reason to look into who his birth mother is...was. Hits just right for people who've always wondered how the show might have tackles this little interesting conundrum.
turtle or the hare: WOW I forgot I read this one aaaaaaaa BUT Jay inadvertently meets his bio mom in a rather...expected place. God their personalities are so similar yet mesh so well hnnnnnnnng (we could have had it aaaaaaall)
Jay and the Deafening Sound: ...this one's mine BUT I've got all three categories covered—extremely about Jay, takes place in the movieverse, and has shades of my legacyverse au to boot <3 Not-so long story short, Jay finds himself up against the main faction of the Shark Army all on his own and finally has a good excuse to pop off with his powers <3
this doesn't really have a title but it IS really very good: A scene or so where Jay and Kai spat over caring for each other too much and it's just such a beautiful depiction of their relationship, rocky tho it may seem ;w;)/
The Fantastic Mr. Walker: All these years later and it's still my favorite Jay-related thing to exist. Really gotta re-read it again so I can be delightedly distressed all over again <3

okay mota part 4 spoilers:
that was so much better than the last episode!! felt less rushed, got to dive into the characters a bit more, cool to see the town and surroundings and stuff. and the opening scene of gale... WHEW.
really fuckin disappointed (tho not surprised) that there was literally just one mention of curt and it was just when they were listing people who died. a month timeskip, no mourning, not even an offhand comment from gale or john or any of the guys and i didn't really expect otherwise but it was still nice to have silly hope the past week lol. altho there was that moment where gale and john were both kinda unspoken-ly bitter? sad? about the people they had lost but they never directly commented on it.
but i did love getting a bit of character development, seeing the guys get to have some fun, watching gale and john look at each other like idiots in love (the way gale watched john talk back to his superior?? the way john watched gale dance with meatball?? smitten idiots.) but also that scene with john talking back was very much 'i'm in pain so i'm trying to self sabotage by getting people angry enough at me to hit me so i can feel something' vibes, like plane wing 2.0 except no one will hit the way curt did. :(
and the sex scene good LORD. god. felt like an unintentional apology for the emotional turmoil of the last episode LOL. i'm gnawing on john's thighs and i would have folded so fast if i were that woman, i would not have been leaving that room in the morning.
the end was pretty devastating except i think i know what's up with gale's crew and obv they're not killing him off, glad we at least got john's reaction to him not making it back. i was predicting he'd have a little bit of a dive off the deep end thinking he lost his other closest friend and i'm pretty sure him asking to be put in the next mission is that.
there are so many more scenes i really liked but i'm fuckin terrible at names, it's a wonder i even remember the main three lmaooo so not gonna go there and this blog was mainly made for shippy fic writing/brainrot so <3
anyway on the fruity side of things, once i figure out how to yoink clips from apple, there were so many cute buck x bucky scenes that i will be editing to hell!! it felt a little heart healing to get scenes of them being happy together. that's allllll, hope ur enjoying/enjoyed the episode too ^^

hi !!! i saw u said you were open for prompts, i mean this is kinda less of a prompt really, but like i loved that blackhill mission transcript thing you did a while ago and would be really cool to see some more stuff in the same vein ig ! but also maybe something like a kinda blackhill first meeting kinda thing idk !! i just love your work tho ! you really have the ability to make me feel all the emotions
OOOOO i just thought of this whilst writing this but maybe something like with clint teasing nat ab having like feelings for maria or something ?? idk i just love ur writing ! sorry these are kinda shitty hahah
NGL I took this prompt and mangled it in my hands. I heard first meeting and my brain was immediately like well that could go seventeen thousand different ways, so I sorta mashed in Clint's teasing to go along with it and made it a little more suggestive than outright shippy. Realistically, I think if Natasha is only meeting Maria for the first time, she's probably still in a place where she's not totally open to such self indulgent things as having a crush
Also, this isn't a mission transcript but I'd love to do more of them that one was really fun! I just don't really have any good ideas for the sort of things they'd have to talk about in the field besides dying haha
ANYWAY enough rambling, though you're all familiar with my inability to shut up these days. ~3k under the cut of Clint being a ballache and nat being sceptical but gay
The only person that doesn’t treat Natasha like she’s a project – or a live wire –  is Clint. He’d had his fair share of looking at her with those careful eyes, something behind them that made her teeth itch in her gums like some trained dog. He doesn’t do that so much anymore, not unless she’s in a particular state and doing a very bad job at hiding it. She likes him, she thinks. He might be one of the first people in her entire life that she can truly say she likes.
Naturally, she finds herself in his quarters more often than her own. She lays on his bed as he works on something probably explosive enough to kill them both if he sneezes, and she ignores the pip of her emails as she braids a small strip of hair under her ear. She’s bored, if she’s honest, but she doesn’t want to waste her first free morning of the past fortnight on something so trivial as emails. Or helping Clint.
“You not gonna answer her?” he says without looking up from his work. He holds it close to his face, something far too small in his tweezers.
Natasha’s fingers pause in untangling her braid. “How do you know who it is?”
He still doesn’t turn in his seat, matter of fact when he speaks. “You have a different tone for Hill.”
“How did you figure that out?” She tries not to scowl at him, but she still isn’t used to feeling so see-through. Quite frankly, she’d like to be as opaque as possible, but she seems to have grown rather attached to someone with x-ray vision.
Clint puts his miniature contraption down and turns to her at last. She’s not fond of the smile on his face as he leans over the back of his chair. “You’re not the only spy on the ship. Also, you weren’t trying very hard to hide it.”
“Her emails are usually more important,” Natasha argues, not quite sure why she feels the need to defend herself on it.
Clint grins ever wider. “I never asked why. I just thought you had a massive crush on her.”
Natasha scowls fully this time. “I’ve never met her.”
He shrugs. “I don’t know what’s in those emails.”
“Shut up.”
She reaches for her phone anyway and pointedly ignores the way Clint watches her. The email is much the same as they always are, telling her about meetings and progress and such. She’s overtly professional in every one, but now that she’s thinking about it, Natasha likes the words she uses – just slightly like she enjoyed reading dictionaries as a child. Very, very rarely, Maria will let something slip in her emails that is almost like humour, and Natasha doesn’t tell Clint that she actually does enjoy receiving emails from her just for the fact that she feels a little special when that happens. She’s heard the rumours; she knows not to expect giggles and grins when it comes to the Assistant Director.
In the end, she doesn’t bother to respond to the email anyway and Clint has already turned back to his work. “Not in the mood to sext her back?”
She scowls at the back of his head. “It sounds like Laura needs to watch her back.”
“Oh, god,” he laughs. “Gross. Absolutely not. Not my type.”
“What makes you think she’s mine?”
“You need someone to match your weirdness.”
Natasha wishes she had something to throw at him. She won’t admit that she intrigues her in small ways. She doubts she’s any different from every other CEO and government lead in the world, but some small part of her feels thankful to her faceless emails. She could’ve easily overridden Clint’s choice, could’ve had her put down before she could even think to beg for forgiveness. But she’d given her a chance, and she’d kept in contact despite her supposed overbooked schedule every day since. Maria held her life in her hands at one point, and she’d given her another shot at it.
Despite everything, Natasha still doesn’t sleep well. Or, rather, because of everything, she supposes. One good month doesn’t erase a lifetime of bad – and she’s really a little hesitant to say that this month has even been good in many senses of the word. She wonders if the nights will ever get easier on her with time, or if she’s stuck with these hours of restlessness and sweat for the rest of her life. It’s not a nice thing to think about, and it doesn’t really do all that much to distract her from the shadows that still play behind her eyelids or the way the shapes of the room still seem to swim around the edges. So, she swings her legs over the side of her bed and scrubs at her face with her hands. She can appreciate, at the very least, that she isn’t handcuffed to her bed here. Somehow, that had been a hard thing to get used to. She still sleeps with one arm by the headboard.
There aren't many things to do at this hour. Clint has told her countless times that she’s perfectly welcome to pester him at any time of the night if it would make her feel even minutely better. He says he understands, and she believes him enough from the way his past lines his own face, but it doesn’t make it any easier to put into practice.
She doesn’t have a plan as she steps out into the corridors. She dresses like she’s going to the gym on the off chance that she might be able to sneak into it and punch something until she’s sweaty for reasons more tangible. She wishes the firing range was usable at this hour, but she’s sure that’s much less subtle. Still, there are some nightmares you can only really feel better by shooting at. Maybe she’ll bat her eyelashes into an hour or so at the targets tomorrow.
She passes the odd agent as she trails around the corridors and considers that the ship never really sleeps entirely. There’s always someone on the night shift, always someone pottering around with something. She thinks it would be nice to work when it’s so quiet. Maybe she should ask about changing her hours. It might be a little soon.
The gym isn’t so far from her quarters, and by the time she reaches it her shirt still feels sticky at her back and her stomach still feels like it’s alive in her ribcage. Her hopes are low enough to limbo as she presses her hand to the door, and she could almost sigh with relief when the door opens easily. She’s not against breaking in, but she likes to think she’s been doing a pretty good job of building a better reputation lately. Maybe not socially, but Maria’s emails haven’t managed to sound short lately – not since the last time she’d bypassed what she maintains was a criminally simple encryption on one of Clint’s jobs.
The gym is utterly silent at this time of the morning, which is entirely unsurprising. She doubts anyone else sensible gets out of bed for another hour or two, let alone starts their training regime. Generally, agents are allowed the privilege of breakfast before they’re worked to the bone. Natasha’s never been a fan of food so early in the morning.
She doesn’t really know when she fell out of the habit of scanning each room on this ship like someone will be waiting to haul her out of it, and she blames it firmly on her lack of sleep and nightmare slurred thoughts when she doesn’t notice the other body in the gym until it’s too late.
“I did wonder,” someone says, and Natasha’s attention snaps to one of the benches on the far side, half covered from the entrance.
It takes Natasha an almost embarrassingly drawn out moment to place her features, and she’s sure she only half succeeds in hiding her surprise into an intrigued eyebrow. The Assistant Director didn’t really strike her as the type to be in the gym when everyone is supposed to be sleeping.
“Wonder what?” she asks instead of every other question that gnaws at her head. She stays firmly planted in the middle of the room.
“Who would come in at this time.”
Oh. She’s not wondering about Natasha. She doesn’t really know what that feels a mote disappointing. She hates it when Clint asks how she’s sleeping. Maybe she just doesn’t like lying to him.
“I thought it would be empty.”
Maria places her water bottle beside her on the bench and makes absolutely no move to stand up yet. Somehow, Natasha finds it unnerving, even if she’s taller here. “It usually is,” she says simply.
Her eyes bore into her in a way that makes the back of her neck crawl. Something about her says that she’s calculating, that she’s looking at Natasha and breaking her down into little bite sized pieces. Natasha has never liked being dissected. Maria’s eyes are very blue.
“Do you usually spend your mornings here?” she asks, if only to stop Maria from burning holes into her skull and reading her thoughts directly.
It works, in the way that her gaze flicks away for the briefest moment before pinning her again in that same cool tone. “I guess you could call this morning.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
Maria’s eyes soften ever so slightly around the corners, and Natasha would almost call it a squint. “I’ve made a bit of a habit at this point, yes.”
She almost seems reluctant to admit it, and Natasha can’t help the way she wants to pick this woman apart. She has always liked puzzles, and people are just some of the more complex the world has to offer. She thinks she understands the rumours a little more now, even through this uncanny meeting. She wonders if Maria feels her own searching gaze as intently.
Maria stands at last, and Natasha had almost forgotten how tall she is. She thinks she preferred it when she was sitting. “Don’t let me stop you,” she says, and Natasha is silently thankful for the way that answers her question. Again, not that she wouldn’t break the rules. It’s just much harder to make an excuse when the Assistant Director is the one who catches you.
“I would’ve expected the AD to send me back to my quarters,” she notes, as forward as ever when it gets her information. She’ll admit this woman seems to be intriguing. She’s curious as to just why she’s indulging her so far.
Maria’s expressions are all very small, mere suggestions of emotions that only make Natasha want to pick her apart. “That would make me more of a hypocrite than I already am,” she says simply, almost smiling. “Are you getting on okay?” she asks instead , and her eyes are on her like she’s deciphering her again. She’s closer now, making direct eye contact, and Natasha holds it like a game. “Besides the obvious, of course.”
Natasha tries not to scowl. God, does she hate when people pretend like they know her. “What’s the obvious?”
Maria raises one eyebrow ever so slightly, her expression caught somewhere to amusement. “Did the Red Room have you in the routine of training at four in the morning?”
“Sometimes.” They both know that’s not the reason that she’s here, as much as Natasha wishes Maria didn’t.
Her eyes are almost soft. Almost like she truly cares about her. Natasha doesn’t like to let herself believe the sort of things that might cost her later. “Half of the people on this ship struggle with it, Romanoff,” she says, nearly gentle in the silence around them. “You don’t have to be ashamed of it.”
She can almost imagine her setting a heavy hand on her shoulder as she says it, though Maria remains in her own space. She’s still slightly too close for what Natasha is used to however, and it’s the first time she realises the darkness under her eyes. Her face is lined, something bone deep that she doubts ever goes away. It lends her a certain sort of…imperfection that makes her seem a whole lot more human. For everything she’s heard, though she knows to take gossip with a healthy grain of salt, she could almost imagine Hill to be some sort of robot, some living excel sheet.
Standing in front of her, she sort of just looks like a woman who could do with some sleep. She looks like a woman who has spent the last who-knows-how-many hours beating out her own past the same way Natasha intends to. She won’t call it affection. It doesn’t mean Natasha likes the way she looks straight through her any more.
“You have any tips?” she says, aiming for something playful. She really, really just wants her to stop looking at her like she can figure her out right here in the middle of the room. Maybe if she seems better than she is, she’ll leave her alone. She’d rather her conduct a genuine vivisection out on the boxing ring floor if she’s going to continue to examine her.
She’s certain Maria almost smiles at that, a tug at the corner of her lips that is almost sad, almost conspirational. She shrugs ever so slightly. “Shooting things usually helps.”
Natasha tries not to scowl like a child. As if she wouldn’t be there right now if she could get away with it. “I’m on supervised arms training.”
This time, Maria does smile, though Natasha thinks she’d have missed it if she blinked. “Not from tomorrow,” she says plainly, and Natasha can only watch her walk away without another word.
The door closes behind her, and Natasha lets herself furrow her eyebrows as deeply as she likes. She is overtly aware that she is not being let off of supervised training tomorrow. She’s aware that she has been seen as a weapon and an explosive since the moment Clint forgot that he was meant to shoot her. Somehow, she doesn’t think that Maria is one to tease.
It makes it very hard to punch things as effectively as she’d like to when she can only think after Maria. She wonders what keeps her up at night. She wonders what else she does to get rid of the shadows. She wonders why on earth she would let her off of the hook so early. For all they know, Natasha might decide to defect back. She might’ve been biding her time until she could get a hand on one of those guns outside of the range. She’d never even dream of it, of course. She’d rather be supervised for every split second a gun is in her hands for the rest of her life than have to go back to her life before. She wonders just how deep Maria managed to dig. She wonders if she really is all that transparent after all.
She finds herself in Clint’s quarters again as thoughtlessly as breathing. Every spare minute in her schedule that lines up with his, she’ll spend hiding from the rest of the world. This time, she’s sitting in his chair, her knees resting against the edge of his desk so that she can spin it slightly from side to side. Clint is behind her in his bunk, his arms tucked up behind his head and his eyes closed. It’s only 2pm. Natasha wishes she could have a nap too.
“Is she always like that?” she says on a whim, her thoughts still stuck on tired eyes and snap decisions.
“Like what?” Clint asks, completely brushing over her lack of context.
“So…intense.”
“Ah, we’re back on Hill. Yes.” He falls silent again, and Natasha listens to his breath. “Hold on.” His eyes open and his head turns on his pillow to face her. “Did you meet her? When?”
“This morning.”
“You were at the range this morning.”
“Before that.”
“You were asleep before that.” She doesn’t answer, and that tells him everything in as little effort as possible. “Natasha.”
She doesn’t meet his eye. “It’s better than moping.”
“You don’t need to mope. You can come wake me up.”
“But then you don’t sleep.”
“Tasha, do you really think I’m sleeping well either half the time?”
She stays silent again, staring intently at the dimples Clint’s chair has made in the carpet.
“How did you even find her?” he asks eventually, giving up the argument for the countless time. “She’s practically booked to the minute.”
“She was in the gym when I got there.”
“I’m going to skip over the fact that you’d rather punch something until you bleed than come and bug me. Was it worth it? Was she all sweaty and hot? Did you two finally canoodle in person?”
She doesn’t dignify his jokes with a response, her thoughts plain in her expression. “I don’t think she sleeps well either. She looked tired.”
Clint grins a little. “You paying attention to her face?”
Natasha scowls at him. “It’s normal to look someone in the eye.”
“Mhm…” He retucks his arms under his head, settling back against his pillow. “It’s for sure normal to think about them all morning.”
“She took me off of probation,” she says, almost in a rush, like maybe this will change the subject – maybe a little bit like she’s admitting something.
“Oh you definitely have a crush on her. It’s like she’s trying to get in your pants. Remind me never to read your emails.”
Natasha only squints at him, wishing once again that she had something appropriate to throw. The urge distracts her enough that she never does reject the notion. And when she finds herself imagining Maria’s secret little smile in those few and far casual emails, she decides that Clint doesn’t need to know. She’s not been given many chances in her life, and she thinks she could make space in her life for two instead of one. She wonders if Maria would ever want a gym buddy on long nights and promptly decides not to think any deeper into it.

Part of the weirdness about m/f ships feels like this kind of performativity from insecure queer teens? At least I think so based on my own experiences. I've always been a big multishipper who likes f/f m/m m/f and any other kind of ship equally but there was awhile where I felt kinda ashamed if I liked a m/f ship "too much" bc I felt like I wasn't gay enough. Like I wasn't queer enough if I didn't ship gay ships enough. Even now (tho I've gotten better) I still feel this obligation to keep the ratios of ship fics I read "even" so I can prove I'm still a good queer. I think in my case it's probably part of my internalized biphobia (since I feel a similar obligation to make I prove I have attraction to all genders and am really bi "enough" in my actual daily life) and it's a similar feeling of stress at having to constantly police your own identity/attraction/interests.
It's unfortunate that this kind of insecurity in how queer we are seems so common in queer people especialky those of us who are young one w/out much actual dating experience (who make a large part of this fandom. This sort of "who even ships m/f lol gay ships only" I've seen others in this fandom doing feels very much like a way of coping with that insecurity, by proving you're gay enough through your ships. I'm sure there are plenty of people who simply are just not interested in m/f but I'm sure there are also others like me, trying to prove we're queer enough by carefully curating our fandom interests.
My thoughts on m/f ships is that the end of the day, shipping is just shipping. It doesn't actually necessarily say much about your sexuality or what you actually want in a relationship and certainly doesn't mean you're less queer.
(Obviously there are other factors too in the weird attitude ppl in the mcyt fandom have about m/f ships, but this is one that has affected me a lot and I've never seen anyone else talk about it so I wanted to bring it up. Idk I hope I made sense)
Thanks for the ask! It was really nice seeing this as a bi person who heavily mains m/f and sometimes feels bad for it (I also main friendships but I mained m/f reallllly hard pre 2020 aka. before this fandom).
Yeah, I feel like it could also be like "we see so much m/f in real life so we should go hard on the other options to even it out". This fandom specifically there's been problems of irl truthing in comments so I completely understand why people shy from it, but it's 2024, we're quite developed in the character vs cc divide, shipping m/f isn't the end of the world.
I do feel guilt over maining m/f (then liking f/f and m/m, in that order, yes Treebark is the exception and my first m/m that I really got into), like for a looong time I was pretty sure it was just terrible heteronormativity that I needed to kill, but now I feel like it's a mix of heteronormativity (which I fight like daily lmfao) and just. being attracted to men and women both. Because when I write m/f, I can write about being attracted to women and men all in one neat package. And it feels "equal" to me. I do tend to prefer pieces of media with an equal gender ratio, or at least the leads are (eg. Miraculous Ladybug (my ex fandom lmao), Kagerou Project (ex fandom, stares into the distance), Spy x Family, Assassination Classroom) so I can love male and female characters. When reading fics, I like reading about loving a man from a woman's pov and loving a woman from a man's pov. Even in HC with its highly uneven gender ratio, this manifests in the corner I've tucked myself into (False, Ren, Stress, Iskall, etc). Although I do also like media with mostly female characters - Love Live (another ex fandom lol), Precure, Madoka Magica, Nikkiverse - and I do read stuff, I just don't really write for them because I wanna write about girls AND guys. Shippy or not. And this leads me to main m/f a lot. That's my personal taste.
Side note: as a kid, I was frustrated by media aimed at boys which had like a whole cast of boys and one token (cardboard cutout) girl AND media aimed at girls which had a whole cast of girls and almost no boys. 9yo me in co-ed school was like "well this doesn't feel very pro gender equality, I want books with the same amount of boys AND girls :((((( oh wait. I can just write it." And.... it ended up defining what I write now? Even outside of shipping, I like m+f friendships a lot. Because I still get to write about a guy and a girl even if they don't kiss or whatever. Idk. Am I cursed with an extreme case of heteronormativity and / or internalised homophobia or am I bisexual. Maybe both. Idk.
Maybe I do have boring stupid milquetoast hetero taste whatever but I'm having a good time in my fandoms and my ships / dynamics. I like writing about my guys and girls and I'll keep on doing it. And I am queer. I am bisexual. This doesn't change.
Anyways watching HTTYD at a young age changed me. Hiccstrid you will always be my origin story <3
Thanks for the ask again! We don't have to prove our queerness because we are queer. Everyone has different tastes. And m/f does get a bad reputation in queer spaces because oftentimes it's done badly and ofc the enemy.... heteronormativity [evil].
Final note re sibling fanon: if you have to turn friends into siblings just to show you're not shipping, you are coming back to heteronormativity. Why can't a (straight) man and a (straight) woman be friends only. What assumptions are you making?

what are your age hcs for tatsuki and soutarou? and misc hcs for urotsuki?
Tumblr media
Gonna be blunt, head is a cluttered junkyard and I'm a rambler with zero self control when right conditions are met [you ask about Special Interests]. plus am tired and really out of it from work cause we had inventory and i ordered too many lunchables [oscar mayer can go to hell]. Will do best to make this coherent, or at least intelligible, but apologies if it's a bit of a mess.
Age Headcanons [If we're going for what they are in game]
Short answer: Soutarou is late 20s-early 30s, Tatsuki ranges between 15-18. [tho ofc when I draw shippy stuff it's an AU and they're both early 20s]
Long answer: Actually thought about this on and off a decent bit and could never really get more than a vague, "Somewhere around this area" for them.
Soutarou is somewhere between late 20s and early 30s. He's old enough to have experienced some shit, try to get clean and back on his feet and get some manual labor experience, and have that ripped from him. Plus some time to isolate and have those thoughts wreck havoc on his mental state.
Tatsuki on the other hand is messier and harder to really give an age to. They could be a kid escaping into fairy tales to avoid reality, or a young adult [18-20] that was forced to grow up too fast and is now suffering from dealing with their fractured identity [have thought about Debris endings occurring around Tats 18th birthday, because they have the "You're not a child, so why do you hold onto such stupid childish fantasies?" thoughts to go on top of everything else and it sorta just breaks them.]
Misc Uro Headcanons
Big Deep angsty Uro hc/kinda what shapes her core for me
You might've heard the quote, “I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that." by Robin Williams. This more or less summarizes my view of Urotsuki at the core. She may not be weighed down by what other dreamers have gone through, but she knows what it's like to be trapped in darkness and though it may not show, she is doing her best to make others happy because she doesn't want others to go through that. [side note: this is huge part of reason for shipping her with Tatsuki. Feel like they'd be the same, tho Tats is way more introverted. That angsty, "You see through the smiles or notice the little things and softly nudge me to say you understand and are there." sorta thing].
Going off that; for the longest time have hc'd that Uro has struggled with an ED and self image issues in the past and a big part of why she loves food and is okay with being herself, and is so supportive of others doing the same, is because she had to fight to get to where she is and is doing her best to make sure others can simply see the joy in life without experiencing the hell she went through.
More lighthearted/Uro's a goofball hcs
Uro is somewhat lactose intolerant but keeps getting sick because she won't. fucking. stop. eating cheese. Or questionable foods in general. "It smells alright so it's probably fine." [narrator voice: It wasn't fine] sorta things.
Probs mentioned this one before but eh, Uro and Sou are one of few dreamers with a drivers license, and Uro's driving doesn't exactly leave most passengers feeling safe so Sou is constantly stepping in when she offers people a ride. The two bicker at each other like an old couple a surprisingly good bit when eyes aren't on them. This paired with them both being older and able to get drunk makes for quite a scene. [Sabi's laughing, Tats is on the floor trying and failing to hide it.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She did have a dedicated dream diary at some point, but during a depressive period would start to fill and decorate it with random stuff [silly doodles, poems, stickers , ect], and it's now more like a thought scrapbook or therapeutic outlet for her. Pages that are just her jotting down memories that make her happy have little sticky note bookmarks so she can flip through them when feeling down.
Her head is a mess and all over the place, and her counting sheep is like a ritual she semi-depends on to fall asleep since it gets her to focus on one thing and relax [its a sorta behavioral dependency that if she was somehow barred from doing, she'd probs stress out and not be able to sleep.]
Hope you enjoyed or were at least satisfied with rambling anon ◠⸜⸝◠~

Little addition to the talk about Oscar's PR management and pushing Lily a bit more into the light.
I agree with everything the other anon said but I'd like to add how it also means they are portraying Lando and Oscar differently.
Clearly, along the 2023 season we saw McLaren media leans more and more towards the slightly shippy "Landoscar" theme.
Not in a too obvious way but there were little nods towards the ship.
In 2024, we still got some little things (the picture from Barcelona, the "Osc", etc...) but it's more subtle, more leaning between shipping and friendship.
And for me it goes along with the want to picture Oscar as someone reliable and serious by showing is relationship with Lily more and also having him involved in other activities (like the Reef thing).
They are slowly letting us know that Oscar is more than just a driver and a cute boy. He has a personality, interests and a life outside of the track.
As a shipper, I hope we will soon get more funny Landoscar content to play with.
As someone interested in communication and marketing, I love trying to understand what is happening behind the scenes!
I totally see that and tbh it fits with him hiring a social media manager that AND the Andrea press release about changing their media duties around. tho the intention they gave for that was for Oscar and Lando to have more down time which hasn't actually happened bc they've both stayed just as busy but separately.
I have an anon I'm sitting on bc there's a LOT to address and some of it feels a little too .... idk tricky. but their point was that McLaren want to renege a bit on the whole 'Lando and Oscar doing everything for the team and not being in competition with each other' now that McLaren is officially up there fighting consistently for podiums and the top 3 or 4 championship spots. that splitting them up more in terms of media duties COULD be a way of creating space for them to have if not a full on rivalry then a Charles and Carlos type of competition.
the thing is that Lando and Oscar on their own keep saying how much they work together and share data and have the same needs for the car etc and that they want healthy motivation between each other.
but also I think for anyone who's had to work in a committee or be a part of regular team meetings there's also got to be the reality of someone coming in and saying 'let's change things up!' to maybe keep their job or stand out and it ends up being sort of a mess and maybe the old system was actually just fine alsfgjlsagfhljsfa it's truly possible that this whole Reputation era revamp is going to prove to be a mistake or that it's just not being very well executed.
bc I can't say that pulling Oscar away from Lando is ever going to work well for him when Oscar just isn't interested in being The Guy. he wants to show up and do his job and compete and then go home lol. so it ends up that not only do fans not get the fun teammate content they've come to expect from McLaren with the previous two teammates, it also means that super motivated Lando is maximizing on every opportunity and becoming a bigger star on his own - while Oscar has to struggle to meet the media's needs for energy and dynamism without having someone he knows he can bounce off of. the Esteban RC car thing was just... ok lol. that's not what any of us would like to see him spending his time filming. the Great Barrier Reef thing is nice but it's not the same as Seb or Lewis bc as Oscar even said he only ever really knew much about the issue from school. and most of Oscar's life is spent away from that issue and away from Australia. (he even kinda said that it was a great side benefit of being able to stay in Australia longer and have Lily involved instead of heading right back to MTC)
fundamentally, Oscar wants to have more time for his private life and he doesn't want to broadcast it- and I think that if they simply dropped the silly challenges and just gave Lando and Oscar a topic in a free moment and filmed it then Oscar could have more time away from filming and we as fans would get Lando and Oscar's real relationship that's fun and cute but without them feeling awkward at being told to dance and perform. the whole thing would be way less pressure for both Oscar and Lando.
remember, Lando isn't naturally like that! Carlos and Daniel learned that PR bromance game early in their careers and play it well but Lando follows their lead and basically reacts to them! early 2019 Lando was basically a featherless little chick watching Carlos with big eyes and squawking at how funny he was but he was sooooo nervous and twitchy about being on camera until he learned to copy Carlos' humor and bounce it back to him.
so genuinely when Lando and Oscar are just allowed to talk normally, it takes less time than setting up for elaborate challenges and they'd both feel more relaxed and get more time off.

Yk what, I've made a few confessions here and I feel like I've sounded a bit like a hypocrite even tho people didn't even know these confessions were from the same person 💀
I have a weird relationship with unhealthy ships because I don't really ship them but the way in interpret them is kinda in a shippy way? Idk, maybe I'm just too aromantic this
But, for instance, saltpep: I sorta ship it. I don't really ship it but i see them getting together yet I don't see it going well. So ig I ship it but I don't like it?
It's similar for tacomic, I don't entirely ship it and I don't even see them getting together as such but the way i interpret their relationship is maybe Mic feeling she finally has a connection to someone and thinking she's inlove? Again, idkkk, that might just be me accidentally projecting all the times I thought I was in loce but i wasn't
But I always thought I was a hypocrite bc I shipped those but I hated Trife with a passion but I recently realised that I don't really ship Saltpep and Tacomic, I just see it happening (mostly one-sided) while with Knife and Trophy I don't see it happening on either end at all
But, I'm willing to hear other opinions on this and I'm praying my view on these ships isn't problematic or something 😭🙏

Tuvok:
Tumblr media
Ok, first off: real world standards, he's not normal passing. Apart from the ears, he's just too autistic (sorry, "Vulcan" 🙄) to be considered "normal looking". He went to 1990s earth once and Did Not Pass as normal. But in universe, he would on the surface seem like a model Vulcan. And he is, kinda. But he's also so gd weird. (/aff)
Not even gonna get into how badly he wants to be Will Graham because obviously that's there too but we don't have all day. Anyway.
Obvs the emotions struggle is real as it is for any Vulcan worth paying attention to, if only because they were all only ever written by humans.
But also, tangential to him being Will Graham coded (but still separate enough) he is a total mind slut. You know how some characters will go "when I have a problem, I set it on fire" or shit like that? When Tuvok has a problem, he mind melds with it. Homoerotically if it's an option. Dude even got a mind std one time, despite the fact that's not even a thing.
And then whatever the fuck kinda thing he has going on with Janeway. Not even necessarily in a shippy way ("not romantic, not platonic, so devoted the lines blur") but like... not only is he unreasonably loyal to her but he does shit like not only letting her touch him whenever she wants but *deliberately offering her HIS HAND to hold* to comfort her when she needs it (reminder that hand touching is very intimate to Vulcans and can be likened to human kissing) and again, they're never even stated as romantic or anything, they're just friends and yet he is more loyal to her than he is to his own code of ethics.
Obviously part of all of it could be because Janeway (or possibly Kate Mulgrew) is simply Like That, she does do shit like tell her platonic subordinate "then be a good rat and find us the cheese" in a tone that makes me lose it, but it's not all her, Tuvok is also extremely not normal about it. I should submit Janeway too actually, I'll do her next.
Also, afaik Tuvok is the only crew member of Voyager (who makes it back) who had a romantic partner before the ship got lost in the Delta quadrant and remained loyal the entire seven years they were lost. I *think* Samantha Wildman also did but she's a minor character (so she could've been getting it off screen) and she started out pregnant so once born Naomi both kept her busy and was a living reminder of her husband's love. So in that regard, Tuvok is very much not normal but like in the most positive way. He literally didn't cheat on his wife even when his life was in danger (they *were* out there for seven years so of course he hit pon farr eventually) and I think that's really cool of him. But also very not normal.
I'm very tired rn but once the polls come out, simply check out the blog of Bea @bumblingbabooshka (wanna clarify, I'm not him but he is THE Tuvok blogger in my opinion) who has written much on this already.
There's also the whole stuff that happened around his monestary era but I'm not even at that part yet but it must've been wild.
Anyway. Vote Tuvok
Janeway:
Tumblr media
- will literally martyr herself at the drop of a hat
- will kill you if she thinks it's what she needs to do for her crew
- will not kill you if she thinks you've got residue humanity after decades as a borg drone even though realistically she really should've (tho ofc we're all glad she didn't)
- will violate your personal rights if she thinks you're not "human" enough and also compare you to a replicator (yes I'm still salty about that. wait what was the question? right, i'll get back on track)
- will say absolutely deranged shit like "then be a good rat and find us the cheese" in the a tone that makes me lose my mind and basically give everyone a crush on her (and also mommy issues) if they spend too long in her vicinity, leading to a very loyal crew
- her solution to having a crush on a fictional character was to delete his wife (very relatable but also very not normal)
- she wanted to watch hot Q on Q sex (possibly for scientific reasons) and looked very disappointed when it was severely underwhelming
- WHO brings a bathtub on a spaceship???
- there's more but y'know

Spones - 001
when I started shipping it if I did: this is a great question that I wish I remembered! I first started watching tos as a little kid with my mom, and I always loved the spones dynamic, but I don't think I shipped them back then. And then I was kinda moderately interested in trek for close to 15 years and then one day I woke up and my brain was like "what if you wrote this spones fic" and the next thing I knew they'd completely taken over my life LMAO. So I guess they kinda snuck up on me 🤣
my thoughts: my thoughts???? I've probably written over 100k words of my thoughts about spones LMAO. Their dynamic is endlessly interesting though, by far the most compelling part of tos imo. The way they care about each other but also stretch each other's thinking and spur each other on scientifically is the BEST. Their playful banter is so fun, the emotions they get across from just their expressions GOD. I could watch them forever.
What makes me happy about them: I love the way they playfully tease one another, like spock being amused by mccoy spluttering his way through a conversation and mccoy being amused when spock's trying to show off and fails, I LOVE seeing that.
What makes me sad about them: since this is shippy, the fact that they'd deny they like each other for like 20+ years because they can't communicate meaningfully for shit LOL
things done in fanfic that annoys me: if bones is insecure about everything because of kirk I want to throw my phone out the window it makes me so mad ugh. Obviously people can write whatever they want but it frustrates me that it's so prevalent in spones fics, please tag spirk if you wanna write spirk 😭
things I look for in fanfic: I'm not super picky! I love fake dating, accidental bonding, accidental baby acquisition, banter as a tag LOL, lots of other stuff. Also makes me happy when people write tos and I can read about bones' pretty blue eyes :3 but other than a few nope tropes for me I'll read just about anything!
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: hmmm this is an interesting question since they live in my head constantly lol. I guess for Spock I usually headcanon him as aroace when I'm not shipping him, but if I had to put him with someone, maybe scotty? or like a platonic relationship with uhura would be really nice. For McCoy, Kirk 😄
My happily ever after for them: they serve on the enterprise together as captain and chief medical officer and then move to Vulcan, where Spock becomes a diplomat and mccoy becomes a pediatrician/researcher at the VSA. They live in the desert near the mountains with their giant sehlat cub and they grow old together and nothing bad ever happens 😊
who is the big spoon/little spoon: I think I usually picture them as either one on their back and the other with their head on their arm/shoulder lol. If they did spoon tho, I like to think mccoy would be the big spoon because spock likes to be enclosed :3
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: bantering or discovering a new species together

20 Questions For Writers
Was tagged by @kuraiarcoiris and decided why not. :V
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
35. I have more on other sites, but since I've made my AO3 account, that's how many I've posted there.
.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
656,547. Give or take a couple thousand.
.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently? Dream SMP. But I also have an Inscryption WIP and a couple Kpop WIPs that I really should get back to one of these days. orz But I've written for all sorts of fandoms over the years.
.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
5) Its Suffering Was Real [Inscryption]
This is the one that came as the biggest shock to me when I went and looked at my kudos count in preparation for this write-up. Like, really? People like the fic where I torture the sassy robot trapped in the body of a stoat for 7k words that much??
4) A Shoulder to Lean On [Avatar: The Last Airbender]
WHERE did all these people come from, I have like 6 comments on this thing (not counting my replies)??? I mean, I'm flattered, but ??!!?!
3) Accepting Amelioration [Voltron: Legendary Defender]
I mean, it's a Voltron fic posted back when the fandom was in full swing, it doesn't really surprise me the kudos counter is considerable, though I am still surprised it got that much traction considering the fic is gen and not shippy. Am still proud I made the first daemon AU in the entire fandom, though, if this is my claim to fame, then I'm ok with that. :p
2) Temporary Shelter [Astro / VIXX]
I seriously have no freaking clue how this little self indulgent Kpop crossover fic became so popular, I really don't. I mean, Kpop crossovers are niche at the best of times, and these two groups aren't exactly the most popular Kpop fandoms on AO3 if you know what I mean. It basically started as "wouldn't it be fun if my two favorite Kpop groups were secretly friends all this time? How would I have that happen, tho?" and then snowballed from there. I, uh. I'm glad so many other people like it, ig? 0_0
1) Paved with Pawprints [My Hero Academia]
Of course it's the MHA pet AU fic. Of course. OF COURSE-
.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely. It's only fair I reply if someone takes the time to read on my work and actually give me feedback about it, wouldn't you say? Plus, like most authors, I enjoy talking about my own work, so sue me. >:p
.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't usually do angsty endings; I prefer happy or at least bittersweet ones. I guess by default, it has to be the fic where I slowly killed off America and China from Axis Powers Hetalia for 13k words, while the rest of the cast had already been dead for centuries at that point. So yes, the entire cast of that series was dead by the end of that fic. :))) IN MY DEFENSE, ok, I was actually trying to give them a bittersweet ending by reuniting them with all of their old friends and family by finally letting them rest after so long alone, but it still turned out really sad. TT TT It's basically my only fic where I can't go back and reread it more than once every couple of years, because I still end up a sobbing mess by the end.
.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Well, I guess that's what you define "happiest" as. The most cathartic? The one with the least amount of trauma and extreme bodily injury incurred by the characters? 🤔 I guess by the latter definition, it would Kaleidoscopic Perceptions, a very fluffy USPH college AU that I actually enjoyed writing a lot despite me not usually enjoying romance or college AUs.
.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
No, thankfully. I've gotten a couple kinda weird comments, and of course the obligatory "It's been X months since you updated were you aware?????" comments, but no outright negativity.
.
9. Do you write smut?
LMAO. Absolutely not.
.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Yes! I really love crossovers. I have a few common fallbacks that fit with a lot of fandoms (daemon AUs, Firefly AUs, etc.), but I also enjoy fandom-specific crossovers when I can figure out how to pull them off.
.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No idea. I hope not!
.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Just once for this Gravity Falls fic.
.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes. It had a few ups and downs, but it was overall a really positive experience, and I think it turned out really well!
.
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
idk that I have an ALL TIME favorite ship, especially since I hardly ever ship anything, but Frobin is pretty choice, I gotta say.
Tumblr media
.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Er, none of them, hopefully? I hope that I eventually get to finish all my WIPs at some point, even if it might take me awhile. >.>; But I suppose if I had to pick ONE to abandon, I'd probably pick Written In, my D&D Inscryption crossover AU. I like the IDEA for it, but writing it out is like pulling teeth, and after the first installment where the party gets together, I don't really have a lot of ideas on where to take the plot. :/ Like I have the general overarching idea but no plot structure or anything but small disconnected story beats.
.
16. What’s your writing strengths?
I like to think I do a pretty good job with descriptions while not bogging the story down too much with too much detail?
.
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
Uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh, staying motivated ig. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ if you're asking my weakness about mechanics, though, uh... exposition, I guess? Dialogue in general, sometimes.
.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
If there is actual information included in the other language, then you better provide a translation. If it's just for flavor, though, have at it.
-
19. First fandom you wrote for?
TMNT, specifically the 2003 show. It's never been posted anywhere on the internet and never will. :)
-
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Becoming Real, a Kpop fanfic based on VIXX's Voodoo Doll MV. However, it can easily stand on its own as its own original work. I consider it the most accessible story I've ever written, and it also was just very easy for me to write. Writing is often like pulling teeth for me, but not this story.

hi there :3 as a fellow sean stan i'd like to recommend a song that (personally) reminds me a lot of him! the name is i will be back someday by lord huronヾ(•ω•`)o
its kinda popular tho, so im sending this ask more to finally get this off my system since i never saw anyone comment on how much this fits sean(or maybe im just so obsessed w him that im making connections where they dont exist, but heyy)😭😭
Hi darling anon (i am SO SORRY I couldn't get to this sooner but I am here now!!!)
I agree with you BIG TIME about this song fitting Sean!! Lord Huron is one of those bands I got introduced to through a friend a couple years ago, and while I often forget abt them when making my playlists, I very much enjoy their music GREATLY, and finding songs which fits Sean is ALWAYS a joy so you can bet this one is on my Sean playlist now!!
I mean, obviously the song hits for Sean's sense of homesickness and love for where he's from, but ALSO the wistfulness and nostalgia of the song paired with the lyrics really makes me think of his connections to the gang & his propensity of getting lost. He's lost in RDO but he will be back, he gets caught by Ike Skelding but he will be back, and he will find the people he'll always return to!!! There's also a shippy on-off take - he will always return to his partner, even when they tell him not to return!!
OBSESSED w this one anon, thank u for the recommendation!!!!
