Mini Fanfic #991: Moms' Morning Coffee (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)

9:23 a.m. at Chun-Li's Apartment's Dining Room.......

Samus: (Takes a Sip of her Cup of Hot Coffee Before Letting Out a Satisfied Sigh) I gotta say, babe. Your coffee making skills are up the charts.

Chun-Li: (Smiles Brightly at her Girlfriend Beside Her) Why, thank you, my dear Sammy~ I learned from the best papa in the world after all.

Samus: Really now?

Chun-Li: (Happily Nodded) Mmhmm. He hasn't really taught me how to do it per-say, but I did see him making a few cups every once in a while. Then overtime, i started making coffee for myself, learned how to make different varieties of the beverage, and the rest was history. (Tales a Sip of her Own Coffee Before Sighing) And I cannot begin to tell you how I thankful I am for having coffee throughout my Interpol career. Lays her Chin Down on to her Arm at the Table) It can be a real pain in the ass sometimes....

Samus: (Starts Snickering) Really?

Chun-Li: Yeah. Really. Pointless leads, irritating co-workers, clients, and suspects, night and overtime hours, and don't even get me started on the multiple Shadoloo's cases......('Sigh') It's a miracle I never I ripped my own hair out through all of that, you know?

Samus: (Shrugs With a Bit of a Reassuring Smirk on her Face) Hey, I get it. Work can be pain in the ass sometimes. (Takes Another Sip of her Coffee) But at least you've worked hard enough to get that early retirement, am I right?

Chun-Li: (Happily Nodded in Agreement) Definitely. Everything that led up to it was worth it now I have a beautiful daughter and girlfriend to take care of. (Takes Another Sip of her Own Coffee)

Samus: Forgive me for asking, but this girlfriend of yours.....(Smirks Turns into a Seductive One) She wouldn't happen to be yours truly, is she?~

Chun-Li: Well, you do have the same blonde hair color as her, your muscles are identical from one another, and your smile does look very familiar.....If I didn't know any better....(Starts Smirking Seductive as She Gently Pulls Samus' Hand Uo to her) I'd say you fit the description of her perfectly, don'tcha think?~ (Starts Kissing the Top on Samus' Hand in a Bit of a Tenderness Fashion)

Samus: (Giggles Ticklishly by her Girlfriend's Kisses) I swear, you have got to be the biggest, romantic dork in the face of this planet~

Chun-Li: Says the shameless hypocrite~ (Continues Kissing her Girlfriend's Hand)

Samus: Heh. Yeah.

The couple turns to see Chun-Li's daughter, Li-Fen, standing in front of the table they're sitting while happily waving at the two them.

Chun-Li: L-L-Li-Fen! (Immediately Hides her Hands Behind her Back Along With Samus Before Waving at her Daughter With an Awkward Smile on her Face) H-Hi, sweetie. How are you this morning?

Li-Fen: I'm feeling great as ever. Especially now that I got your....(Happily Reveals a Heaet Shaped Card and a Drawn Picture From Behind her Back) Mother's Day gift!~

Chun-Li: (Gasps Loudly Before Receiving her Gift) For me?~

Li-Fen: (Happily Nodded) Yes, ma'am! (Turns to Samus Before Giving her the Other Gift) I even made a gift for you too, Momma Samus. I hope you like it.

Samus: (Heart Begins to Melt as She Sees a Picture of her, Chun-Li, and Li-Mei Standing Happily Together, With the Words "Happy Mother's Day" Sitting Right Next to the Blue Colored Skies) Oh my gosh, this looks beautiful....(Looks Back at the Girl in Front of Her) Li-Mei, you didn't have to make this for me.

Li-Fen: (Smiles Brightly) I know, but you're a really nice lady and I wanna give you my thanks for taking good care of my momma as of late. She really loves you a lot.

Chun-Li: (Giggles Softly) Indeed I do~ (Kiss Samus on the Cheek Before Hugging Her) She's my everything...besides you, of course.

Li-Fen: Everything.....('GASPS') That's right! There's one more thing I wanna give you, mommy! It's somewhere hidden in my room. (Rushes Back to her Room) I'll be right back!!

Chun-Li: 'Kay! Take your time! ('Sigh') I love that little munchkin so much. (Turns Back to her Girlfriend) You okay, Sammy?

Samus: ('Sighs Heavily') Yeah......Just feeling overwhelmed by the gift is all. That girl of your is too precious for me to handle in this time of morning (Takes Yet Another Sip.of her Coffee)....

Chun-Li: (Giggles While Shrugging) Well, that's kids for ya. They can be a real handful at times, but they can be the biggest sweethearts of the planet whenever they want to be.

Samus: (Chuckles Lightly) That sounds exactly how our kids act back home.

Chun-Li: But to an even more extent?

Samus: Uh-huh. You should've seen me when I first babysit some of them for the first time. I nearly pulled my hair like you almost did.

Chun-Li: You know, now that you mention, I started visualizing you with short hair once. (Takes Another Sip of her Coffee) And I think it'll might look pretty on you if you ever wanna give it a chance.

Samus: (Shrugs) Eh. I doubt it. But I appericate the visualization, babe. (Sighs with a Soft Smile on her Face) But to be honest, I'm really glad I was able to connect with each of them overtime. It wasn't close to being easy, by a long shoot, but seeing them look up to me as their role model and one 9f the moms.....It really warms my heart a lot, you know?

Chun-Li: (Looks Down at Samus' Phone to see a Message and Ness' Name on the Screen) Hey, is that one of your kids who text you just now?

Samus: (Looks Down at her Phone as Well) Yeah, it's from Ness. (Picks Up her Phone From the Table Before Checking Out the Messages) I wonder why he wants to- ('GAAAAAAAASPS')

Chun-Li: (Taken Back by Samus' Sudden, Loud Gasp) S-Sammy!?

Li-Fen: (Immediately Comss Bsck to the Room) I Heard loud gasps! What's going on!?

Samus: M-M-My....

Li-Mei: (Turns to Samus With a Worried Expression) Momma Samus?

Chun-Li: Samus, what's wrong?

Samus: M-m-m-m-m-my m-m-my-my.....

Li-Fen: (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion) My-my? I don't think I follow.

Chun-Li: ('Sighs Heavily') Neither do I.....

Samus: My my my!....

Chun-Li/Li-Fen: Sammy!/ Just tell us already!!

Samus: My.....M-my.....('Sniff') MY PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGELLLLLLLLLS!~ (Immediately Shows the Duo a Picture of Ness and the Other Kids Happily Standing in Front of a Giant Heart Shape Card that Says "We Love You, Momma Samus" on her Phone)

Chun-Li: (Clasps her Hands Together) Awwwwww~ They made a giant card for you?~

Li-Fen: (Smiles Brightly) It looks so big and pretty!~ (Pouts While Kicking Dust From the Floor) It's so much better than my dumb gifts......

Chun-Li: (Gives her Daughter a Motherly Glare) Hey, don't say that. Your gifts are just as lovely as theirs.

Li-Fen: (Turns to her Mother) You really think so?

Chun-Li: (Smiles Brightly) I really know so. I can tell you worked very hard on each of them. (Happily Picks her Daughter Up and Twirls her Around) And I couldn't be any more prouder and happier to be mother!• (Starta Kissing her Daughter's Cute Cheek)

Li-Fen: (Giggles Ticklishly by her Mother's Kisses) Mommy!~ Stoooooop!~ Not in front of Momma Sam-(Turns to See Samus Whimper in Front of Them) Us?

Chun-Li: Ho boy. (Gently Puts Li-Fen Down on the Ground) This.might be the biggest hunch of my life, I take you really love that gift of yours, huh?

Samus: (Tearfully Nodded)

Chun-Li: You love more than life itself,

Samus: (Tearfully Nodded)

Chun-Li: And now you're in the verge of pouring your eyes out some more, huh?

Samus: (Tearfully Nodded)

Li-Fen: Knew it.

Chun-Li: (Shushes Li-Fen Before Turning Back to Samus With a Smile) How about I make us some more coffee? You're already running out of it in your cup. And then after that, the three of us could watch some morning TV together. Does that sound like something you would like to do?

Samus tearfully nodded before spreading her arms wide open at Chun-Li direction.

Chun-Li: Oh honey~ (Walks Over to Samus and Hugs her) Come here~ I didn't know my little pogchamp want some morning hugs today~ It's okay.

Li-Fen: What's a pogchamp?

Chun-Li: It's nothing, sweetie. Did you have that other gift you wanted to show us?

Chun-Li: (Watches her Daughter Run) That girl got some quick legs......She definitely got them from me.

Chun-Li: (Immediately Comes Back to Reality) Oh! Right, right. Morning television. (Gently Picks Samus Up from her Chair) Cone on, Sammy. (Takes her Girlfriend to the Living Room) 'Gotta long morning ahead of us right now.

Li-Fen gave the two ladies their gift of a handmade jewelry box with a photograph picture of the three of them sitting on top it. The ladies in question began to cry their eyes out for nearly rest of the morning afterwards.

you can choose to stay in the surface, to think of him as a sassy, sarcastic, superficial and selfish man who doesn't give a shit about anything nor anyone except for jem, who makes insensitive jokes and doesn't care if he hurts people.

or you can choose to know him. the little parts of him that make him wonderful, sweet, delicate and caring. and, oh, how much love will fill your heart when you realise how much he deserves to be loved.

and how much he craves it.

will is sarcastic, yes. he's funny, he pulls off jokes like it's nothing, he makes people laugh, he sings the demon pox song and makes everyone think he's a little crazy.

but he's also the kid who left his family too young because he thought he was cursed and he loved them too much.

he's also the kid who thought no one could ever love him anymore.

he's also the kid who felt terribly lonely after leaving his family.

he's also the kid who wanted jem to be his parabatai so badly he didn't care he was sick and that he would leave him too soon.

he's also the kid who didn't want people too close to him because he loved them and didn't want anything bad to happen to them. jem was different. it wasn't just because he was sick, it's because he was jem. because jem saw who he truly was when no one else did. his heart beat because jem's did as well.

he's also the man who loved to read. the man whose name will still be dancing in the walls of the library centuries later. the man who found a safe place between books.

he's also the man who was so in love with tessa he tried to break the curse after years of living like that, because his love was so pure, so deep, so real, he had to do something.

he's also the man who put his hands into the fire to save jem's yin fen, because he couldn't imagine a life without him. because he didn't want a life without him.

he's also the man who was desperately in love with tessa, but made himself scarce because he couldn't put his own happiness over tessa and jem's. because he saw how good they were to each other.

he's also the man who held jessamine in his arms when she died too young.

he's also the man who let jem go when he told him he didn't want to live like that anymore even though it would forever break him and he would take a part of his soul with him.

he's also the man who went to save tessa even when he felt his heart getting carved out of his chest when jem died.

he's also the man who learned how to have his sister next to him again, the man who went back to his parents even if he were terrified.

he's also the man who made sure tessa never doubted for a second that he was devoted to her.

he's also the man who travelled the world with her and wrote her letters to show his love.

he's also the man who made sure to love his children loudly, to tell them he was proud of them and that they weren't monsters.

he's also the man who fought against injustices in the clave.

he was also the man who died surrounded by his loved ones (because he was, in fact, so loved).

he was also the man watching jem and tessa's wedding dream since the other side of the river, being happy for them.

will was the man with a heart so big he didn't know what to do with all the love he held in it.

when someone asks me, but why do you love him so much? well, how can you not? how, when he tried to love so quietly but he was screaming, when he was trying not to care but he cared more than anyone.

will herondale was, is and forever will be the character i hold closest to my heart, the character who made me laugh, cry and love the most.

which of the SF characters would watch Oppennheimer and which would watch Barbie ?

Not doing all of them but

Ryu: Barbie. Probably got dragged into it by Sakura. Didn't get most of it but he liked it. Hopes Ken is doing allright ("I too know what it's like to struggle with my worst self") and gifts his Ken a "I am Kenough" shirt.

Ken: Mel wanted to watch Oppenheimer and Ken went along with him. Mel liked it, but Ken got bummed out at the story of a neglectful husband and father trying his best to help people and ruining lives over it.

Chun-Li: Her and Li-Fen went to Barbie in matching outfits. The mother's speech in the middle of the movie really, really resonated with her.

E. Honda: Goes to Barbie screenings painted pink to promote his business. If you even think about suggesting Oppenheimer to him he will slap you and you will deserve it.

Blanka: Barbie. Loved it, a little confused but trying to get the spirit, called up his mom and Sakura later to apologize in case he ever oppressed them or made them feel inadequate. Look out for pink variants of Blanka-chan in stores soon.

Guile: Neither, but his family dragged into Barbie. Spent most of it stone-faced but by the time of the Just Ken musical battle number he did crack up a bit.

Dhalsim: Neither.

Zangief: Went to Barbie with R.Mika. Laughed so loudly during the movie you could hear it outside the room. Launches an all-women wrestling course because he thinks muscle power is the solution to misogyny as it is to everything. Marisa enrolls in for a laugh.

Balrog: Neither. Thinks long movies suck and wouldnt be caught dead attending a girl movie.

Vega: Enjoyed both from a reserved patrician distance, couldnt relate to either of the protagonists in any way. Offended by the existence of Weird Barbie and the scenes with old women in it.

Sagat: Neither. But if one of the kids at his village asked, he would go watch Barbie with them and pretend he had a good time, would heavily criticize Ken for betraying his community in vain pursuits of power.

M. Bison: Barbie, and he likes it, not even for any nefarious reason. Doesn't care to watch Oppenheimer, 3 hours of a guy getting cold feet about doing something that Bison happily does at home for free (murdering scores of innocent civilians).

Cammy: Oppenheimer. Only attended Barbie because the other Dolls asked her to, but she didn't think much of it.

Dee Jay: Barbie, and he had a great time. Plays his own remixes of Just Ken and Dance the Night for several nights at the club afterwards.

Akuma: Neither. If he did, he would quit Oppenheimer in the first minutes, in disgust at Oppenheimer's weakness for trying to murder his teacher with a poisoned apple instead of his bare hands.

Dan: Didn't plan to watch either but people kept seeing him in the street and assuming he was on his way to watch Barbie. After doing so, he tries to aggressively rebrand the Saikyo Dojo as a feminist dreamhouse over the following weeks and fails.

Nash: Oppenheimer. Didn't feel anything other than sadness.

Rose: Doesn't enjoy movies very much, her powers predict the entire plot before it happens, but still went to watch Barbie with Menat and Maggio.

Sodom: Neither, but protests Oppenheimer screenings in defense of Japan and genuine disgust over the movie's subject matter, runs away crying whenever it's pointed out that he's a white jock.

Rolento: Disliked Oppenheimer for the protagonist being a lily-livered coward who couldnt stand by his own choices in defense of the country.

Sakura: Barbie. Had fun, but the parts where Barbie punches a guy and outruns the police and the mother outfoxes the Mattel executives in a car chase is kinda what she wished most of the movie was like, dissappointed only the Kens got to fight.

Gen: Neither. Dead.

Cody: Barbie. Liked it fine, I guess, wasn't boring.

Dudley: Went with Elena to watch Barbie. Found it a smashing good time and felt offended at how rudely the Kens treated the Barbies when they took over.

Necro: Cried during both with Effie. Barbie's crisis over her humanity and her moment at the bench really got to him.

Hugo: Went with Poison to watch Barbie. Enjoyed it more than she did, found himself relating a lot to the tiny violent Allan man who belongs nowhere.

Makoto: Barbie. Didn't like the daughter's character arc one bit and walked out of it hating Barbie as a concept more .

Rufus: Went to Barbie at Candy's insistence and my God you could not get this man to shut up about it for days afterwards. Added feminist to the list of self-aggrandizing adjectives he uses.

Seth: Pre-Doll Zero, he would have watched Oppenheimer and not liked it for it's preoccupation with pathetic human morality. Post-Doll Zero, he would resonate unbelievably hard with Barbie's arc and have a breakdown over the ending.

Juri: Saw both. Spend the entirety of Oppenheimer browsing her phone and making loud bomb/fart noises with her mouth and laughing. Thought Barbie sucked.

Poison: Went with Hugo to watch Barbie and kept planning ways to cash in the pink/Barbie craze for her business. Thought the movie was funny but kinda dumb.

Rashid: Barbie, really really liked it. Pirates the movie before it's out on digital to make a reaction stream and gets sued over it.

F.A.N.G: Oppenheimer. Besides the skin melting scene, dissappointed at how little it showed the scientific process behind building an atomic bomb or civilians dying, he kinda signed up just for those things.

Luke: Liked both, really wants to have his own Mojo Dojo Casa House and, besides the whole oppressing women thing which is totally uncool, doesn't think the Kens were doing anything that wrong.

Jamie: Wanted to watch Barbie but drunkenly wandered into Oppenheimer by mistake and had a really bad time.

Manon: Criticizes Barbie for muddled politics and found Barbie apologizing to Ken at the end viscerally disgusting.

Marisa: Neither. Went to watch Meg 2 because watching action stars fight a giant rampaging shark seemed like more of a good time to her. Thought the first one was a lot better.

JP: Majority shareholder at Mattel stock, politely claps during the screening.

AKI: Has spent the last weeks furiously testing out poisons on various plastics and chasing down Mattel executives for intel. Has a cunning plan to take over Barbieland and gift it to her master.

I am here to talk about my OCs!

Because @elianaroselight and I have talked about them so much we developed 4 RPs about them (that have been going for over a year now) and got a whole system going

Buckle up, it's long

First, there's Ju Ling's family, who now has 3 mates and 7 children (without counting the ones she lost). Her mates are Ju Jing the oni, Ri Shi and the white tiger of the west, Baihu. Her siblings are Hua and Ping, who have, respectively, the vermilion bird of the south, Zhuque, and the azure dragon of the east, Qinglong, as their mates.

Then there's Yue Shi and his mate Fengbao. Feng became friends with their doctor Jiahao, who had two twin kits that became friends (and enemies if you ask Shu) with Feng's kits. Jiahao's husband is Pingyi, who teaches sign language, and is friends with Ju Jing because he and his sister (name missing) were all at the same orphanage. Pingyi is also Cixin's teacher, Zan's adopted son. He's not mute or def but has trouble speaking and often communicates by repeating sounds or words (in the voice of the person that spoke them). Cixin and Tai Shi (one of Ju Ling's cubs) have pet ducks together.

The biological mothers of Tai Shi and the rest of the tiger cubs are Lan (who has Tai Shi, 2 tiger cubs that she lost, and Ju, a lynx cub she adopted) and An (who has Jingyi, Ling Min, Heng and Yawen) Tai Shi's dad is Qiong Qi, no one likes him. Baihu is the father of the other cubs. Depending on the AU, An and Lan are platonic mates with Ju Ling and the others and live in a huge ass house.

But anyway, Baihu is a big sweetheart who does his best to be a good baba. He loves seafood and spicy food and Ju Jing and Ri Shi very much feed into that. Lan grew a passion for gardening and plants and it was a great bonding moment for her and Ju Ling.

But anyway, all of An's cubs are adorable Jingyi likes plants and helps her moma with her garden. She even found a salamander once and wanted to keep it as a pet. Heng loves the sky and the sea, which works well with his uncle Ping, who works at an aquarium, and his yeye who used to be an astrologist. Yawen likes the sky, but specifically the clouds. He loves Wukong's nimbus and asks him to conjure it any time he comes over. And Ling Min is a little fighter that loves dragons and adores her gugu Mei.

Then there is Bai He's family. Obviously, her parents are the general Ba and Beng. Her wife is Zhi Hao, a gibbon demon the size of a wardrobe which works as a blacksmith. So you know, guaranteed thirst trap. Their children are Hua Mei, the oldest girl, Hao the only boy, and their twins Guiyin and Li Lei who is named after the empress of the kingdom of women, who Bai He is friend with.

There's also Kai Hu's group of friends! They call themselves the lost ones because Kai's cousin calls him Peter Pan. They are Chao a cat fish demon (not a catfish. a cat and fish demon), Juan a one-eyed cat demon, Fen a bunny demon, Bo the only human and Huangshu, a gibbon demon that was adopted into Kai's family and became his cousin.

And then there's Shu's group (she is one of Yue Shi and Fengbao's triplets kits), aka Lupin gang wannabe. Shu is of course Lupin, then we have Leale, a dog demon who is 100% based on Jigen, I'm not even going to hide that, and just discovered that he has 2 siblings, and Rampion, who was made as a joke with Skelle but he fits in this group of misfits. And I can't forget the Fujiko of the group, Junjie, who is also one of Jiahao's kits. The other one of Jiahao's kits is Xinyi who married Bao, Shu's second brother.

Last group that I can remember is Ling Min's family. Her mate is Hebo, a leopard gecko demon, and their adopted kids: Xu Qiu a dear and lion demon, Bian a they/them human, Hongbo an otter demon and Wuyue a baby lizard demon that Xu Qiu found in the snow

When I was a kid, my parents had these physical books of baby names and their meanings. I've always liked to write and create characters, so you know I was obsessed with those books. There was one in particular I more or less just kept (at that point it was clear they were done having kids, lol). I mean, that thing was tattered. The cover came clean off. Sometimes I was using it for the stories I was writing; sometimes, I was literally just reading it like a book.

So, as you might expect, I always take great care when naming my characters. I like to choose names with deep symbolic meanings that fit their characterization.

Nope lol I literally just pick names that sound cool or that come into my head at that moment.

Let's see how I did with the crew from The Prince of Thieves / The Queen of Lies.

Breanna: noble | strong, hill | virtuous, honourable

I wanted to make her full name her something else that looks similar, but when I searched up the pronunciation, it wouldn't abbreviate to Bree, which I had very randomly decided on, so she became Breanna instead. Someone should tell TQOL Breanna that her name means "strong" — I'm sure she'll be astonished.

From TPOT: Bree saw hope and fucking grabbed it. She heard Gysborne tell her she was going to her death, and she hurled herself toward her chance at life. Bree Cooper is still clinging to that hope, and it is beautiful.

This is probably NOT going to be in the final draft of TQOL so have it here: ...but she had a voice, and she could kick her legs, and being quiet and demure and the good wife had served her well for so long, and it had worked, more or less, but today, this was a different beast, a different foe, and if she didn’t fight, then there was no one else to fight for her, was there?

William: will, desire, helmet, protection | resolute protection

Honestly, he was invented on the spot and I probably named him after Will Turner, because pirates will never not be sexy? Anyway. Can't believe one of these names is actually spot on. Yay!

No, I vow. I have already decided, long known, in fact, that I will not betray the others. Baden Hatchett will never hear the names James Wardrew, Colette Haris, or Geoffrey Marks. I will take their names and the location to whatever unmarked grave they dig for me. I will take my own name into death with me if it means it will protect the others.

James: supplanter | heel

Another generic dude name I sort of picked out of nowhere... or, more likely, I probably saw one of the countless Outlander gifs that go around and stole Jamie Fraser's name. Jamie W. does act like a heel sometimes so that works. Jk Jamie we love you!

If you want IA, then you want me. If the man you arrested goes free, unharmed, I will turn myself in, and Iustitia aecum will be no more.

Colette: victory of the people | people of victory

Her name just happened! No rhyme or reason. Glad this is what it means though, who knows what would've happened to IA if it meant the opposite.

Geoffrey: God peace | peace, territory, pledge | pledge of peace

No idea why I picked this name—or why, around the same time, I also had a character called Jeff (Jeffersen) in Fen & Freddie. But hey! Geoff doesn't talk much, so the whole "peace" thing kind of tracks.

Geoff wraps his arms around me, presses his face against my neck, the unkempt, wiry hairs of his beard digging into my skin, a sublime sort of torment, innocent yet lethal. “Jamie. You are my family."

Allan: little rock | handsome | cheerful

He gets the honour of being the only character to have the same name as someone from the Robin Hood stories. (Will doesn't count.) He isn't particularly cheerful and I suspect he doesn't believe he's that handsome, but at least I got to name him Allan-a-Dale.

I scrabble on the muddy ground, finding a rock the size of my fist. Although my grip is weak from the cold, I hold it up. ... I hurl it at him, trying to hit his head and falling embarrassingly short. “You’re one of them.” I feel around for another stone, find a smaller one, throw that, too.

Baden: bather | son of bade [other websites also gave me "battle" and "humble, confident"... idk 🤔]

Honestly? “Baden Hatchett” sounded really cool and villainous. I burst into laughter when I saw that the one site said "bather." This guy…he wants to cleanse the world of crime. 😂 But really, I just named him after the place in Germany (it’s also a small community in Ontario) for no other reason than that it sounds cool.

The delinquent rat before me, though, will never wash away the stain of his crimes—the years stealing riches from the pockets of hardworking men, of luring impressionable innocents into his gang of thieves. Nor can he brush away the bruise blossoming across his jaw, nor the blood dripping down his chin from his nose.

Curtis: courteous, courtly | polite

His name just happened. Constable Lenton needed a first name for TQOL and this was it. But it makes sense—guess this is why he's always so pissed off about someone using rude language about Breanna. 🙃 Swearing’s not very courteous at all, is it?

“Enough of your miserable attitude and your filthy tongue.” Curt’s voice was sharp enough to cut. Slick with disgust. Harsh with rage. “You want to mouth off to me or Constable Hatchett or any of us and take your licks for acting like a wild animal? Fine. But there’s a lady present, and you’ll behave accordingly. Do you understand?”

Verity: truth

I just really wanted her name to abbreviate to very so I could associate Colette with Much. That's the whole story there.

Rolling my eyes, nudging her with my elbow, I say, “Pay attention. Help me assuage some of my guilt.”

“Can’t do that,” Verie says gently, and I hate her for being right. “You ought to tell him whatever it is you lied about.”

I'm genuinely so happy that I'm working again on secrets and lies, and I'm so happy bc it's such a challenge for me as well!

I am not used to writing for anything other than modern AUs and it's also exploring a darker side of Aelin and Rowan as characters. And also... DAD LORCAN!!!!!!

It just came from a conversation and me saying "omg imagine if Aelin had been part of the cadre" 😂 Also, for her training I directly thought of Lorcan. I don't think that neither Gavriel nor Fenrys had enough devotion to Maeve to raise a kid and train her to kill and lie to her for years. Plus, Aelin's training will be hard in this fic, obviously not abusive as Arobynn's was in the books but I still needed Aelin's upbringing to be hard and not come from a place of coddling, you know?

Plus the use of Lorcan as her father/brother figure + her trainer will make Elorcan's chapters more interesting 👀👀👀

luo lin also just kind of makes me angry. yeah he didn't know what was happening with zi fen specifically but he still stood by and let a LOT of things happen both before and after her death. he learned about run yu and was just like "yeah hide the kid. im not going to talk to the emperor about this but yikes cringe on his part tbh." then after the empress kills her entire family and steals her child hes like "just live for your kid xoxo. also stay locked up in this pond for the rest of your life. no im not going to talk to the emperor about this."

Coco: (Smiles Brightly) Oh relax. I'll be just fine~ (Covers the Side of her Mouth While Pointing at Wave Beside Her) Can't say the same for Wave though, but I'm sure we'll manage.

Wave: ('Scoffs') Please. I'll be more fine than this twerp here wishes she can be.

Coco: (Rolls her Eyes While Crossing her Arms) Says the nagging workaholic.....

Samus: Daisy's right, Peach. They're not worth it right now. We're on vacation, remember?

Peach: (Tries Breaking Free with Little Prevail) No! Let me go! I only wanted to talk to them is all!

Samus: With your fists and legs?

Peach: YES!

Mario: (Watches the Whole Thing Going Down with his Brother By his Side) Luigi?

Luigi: Yeah, bro?

Mario: Something tells me this vacation is gonna be a lot stressful than I thought it would.

Luigi: Yeah, but....(Smiles a bit Sheepishly) I'm sure it can still be fun experience, right?

Mario: Yeah. (Hopefully.)

While taking footage with the flycam during the beginning of Here Lies the Abyss when you first enter the Fade, I noticed that Solas is nowhere to be found after his dialogue until the cutscene is over.

Which is so funny to me, because now I have to imagine him just zooming off like a little kid finally getting to the playground completely unnoticed, while everyone else is still trying to figure out what the heck just happened. lmao

Reminds me of the winter palace in Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, when you take Solas with you and talk to Cullen before entering the ballroom, he will randomly comment on how "Solas is already inside". And he's the only companion to get a comment.

Like, everyone is just dreading this event so much and doesn't want to be there and just miserable the entire time and then there’s Solas aka Fen "I miss court intrigue" Harel, crashing into the palace at the speed of light like “Out of my way, I’m having the time of my LIFE!”
