[Image description: a three-panel comic. First panel: a gold and silver medal, marked "1" and "2" respectively, are standing on a podium, hi-fiving; a bronze medal, marked "3", looks on, a sad expression on its face. Second panel: the bronze medal walks away dejectedly. Third panel: the bronze medal, surprised, looks at a group of other medals, of various colours and marked with various numbers, all 7 or below, who are celebrating with each other. End ID.]

You know life is wild af, I remember being 12, gay in a Christian school, depressed all the time, and thinking that life would never get any better. Now I’m fucking 23 and actually…living… when I couldn’t imagine seeing myself living past 17, with a beautiful girlfriend, my awesome pets, growing as a person everyday, and grateful for every day…life can always always be better yall. That’s it… that’s the message.. it CAN get better…

Exclusive Cover Reveal: Just Happy to Be Here by Naomi Kanakia
Today on the site I am so excited to reveal the cover of Just Happy to Be Here by Naomi Kanakia, which releases January 2, 2024 from HarperTeen! Just because I don't tell you that I'm not going through a hard time, that doesn't mean I'm not struggling.
Sometimes people might see me having a good life, but they don't see all the behind-the-scenes work that I've put in. I always strive to never give up on something, as my mom taught me to work hard and go after what I want.
But at the end of the day, I'm only human and I can feel tired, stressed, and sad. It's during those times that I wish I had someone who could understand me without needing me to say anything.
