If I have any fellow Christians following me PLEASE WATCH JESUS REVOLUTION that movie was actually really freaking good! It wasn't just a cringy money grab that throws in a moral at the end like most Christian media it was so well made and depicted everything so incredibly and had so many important messages!!!

Truth is always quiet. It’s the lies that are loud.

Making the decision to follow the Bible's doctrine; dedicating my life to Jesus' teachings and promises regardless of my human doubts, Satan's lies and my own thoughts and feelings...
That's easily the hardest thing I've ever done.
If you think following Jesus is easy, you're not a real disciple. You're just religious.

The continued “surprise” of the success of quality faith-based films makes me laugh.
The Chosen, Jesus Revolution, and His Only Son have all drawn this shocked response in the media for being successful on the big screen. Why? This reminds me of the shock when a movie like The Woman King did big numbers. Black women spend money, people of faith spend money. What is the big shock and awe? Yes, the numbers for Christians in organized religion are declining but believers are still two-thirds of the population. This niche in entertainment is moving beyond the corny, over-zealously preachy offerings of the past. Good stories that are universal are being produced with high production values and great performances. Why wouldn’t they be hits?
I know it’s not cool to be Christian these days (was it ever? The bible says we will be hated, should be hated). I know churches have been embroiled in scandal, I know someone’s uncle or granny is a mean-spirited bigot loser who uses their religion for evil, not good (and some of those people have some really weird ideas, and some of those people have too much power).
But what is the secular world offering that is so great? Isn’t the secular world corrupt and the crimes against humanity done by corporations and governments (they are really the same thing) atrocious and they should really be our enemy? The message I get from most of society is sell yourself out for money and power at all costs, that is the only way. Superficiality.
We are all made to worship. We do all worship. It’s just some choose hollow idols like social media, “self care”,  vanity, sex, false identities, celebrities, politics, the universe (whatever that means). I choose my maker (yes, I struggle daily). What else is worthy? None of those other things love you back.
At the end of the day when you look at the Christian message, the gospel, for what it really is, it is all good. We soil it because we are human, but it does not mean we dismiss the message. The message is pure. These works on film are delivering that purity in a time we crucially need it. So instead of being dumbfounded the media should look at why these creations are resonating in the least Christian time perhaps ever.
I just got back from my parish’s Holy Thursday service. I was riveted, moved to tears, humbled. People need to experience more of that. The sacred cannot be replaced.
@ me all you want.

Another young Jesus Freak.
When I was watching the new movie Jesus Revolution I noticed the awesome art work on the character Lonnie Frisbee’s jacket.
It reminded me of my own that I made after I was saved in highschool. I was full of passion and burden to share Jesus with my campus and anyone else that would listen.
That zeal spilled out into the streets of downtown Portland in nights of sharing Christ with the homeless, skinheads, King Diamond concerts, gutter punks, cults and normies. I cut my ministry teeth on wild times of glory and Fire with brothers and sisters overcome with the love of Jesus.
We were a mess of broken but resurrected young people. Immature, but reclaimed by Jesus. Sinners becoming the saints God had made, confused on a lot but courageous and full of conviction that fueled our zealous lives.
Our tribe of young Jesus freaks pursued the Lord through communal life together, hosting Bible studies, prayer and worship times, campus witnessing, concerts, late night Shari’s God talk and coffee guzzling, door to door evangelism and when we had extra time we’d go…to church services too.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! Today is a day where we should be grateful. We should be thankful for the life we have, for the lives we’ve lost, and the new lives that shall be welcomed to this world.
Of course life can be unfair, though. It’s not all “cupcakes and rainbows”, and that’s just how it is, and basically how it has to be. You can’t live life without tragedy. Some of you know that better than anyone. It can be devastating to see a good thing end, but sometimes it’s for the better.
A book I love to hate (if that makes sense) is called “A Child Called: It”. It’s an autobiography about a boy named Dave Pelzer. His childhood was… traumatizing and heartbreaking. And so very cruel.
I cried. A lot.
His mother, Catherine Pelzer tortured him in various ways since he was four years old. His life was one of the most tragic lives I’ve ever heard of.
Here is that story: (READ AT YOUR OWN RISK) There is cursing, and MANY forms of abuse.
Sometimes, that’s just how it is…
Moving on, you’ll never know when someone will die. Maybe your family fell apart, and no one wants to talk to one another. Maybe it’s a divorce. Or an argument. Or someone said the wrong thing at the wrong time.
They refuse to communicate. They want to get out of each other’s lives. They hate each other so much. Their hate is so powerful- they forget what the fight even was…
Then… someone dies. No apology. No goodbye.
Then they realize it’s far too late to fix anything.
Another story isn’t even mine, it’s my teachers’. Two of them. Different funerals. Different deaths. Different reasons. But both deaths were of no other than teenagers.
Barely adults. They never even got to be adults. They just… died.
One of their deaths was caused by carelessness. A sleepy driver in an 18 wheeler crashed into the girl’s car, split the car in half and she ended up flying out and getting impaled by a tree branch right in the stomach.
Overall, just be careful on what choices you make. Specifically on how you treat people. It can make a major difference in their lives. For the better, or for the worst. But then again, it’s your life and how you choose to live it.
So here’s a project you can complete for today:
Go to Google slides and make at least 2-5 slides about why you’re grateful for someone and send it to them.
Or write a letter. Or call someone.
You can really make a positive impact on someone’s day today.
Because you never know when it will be the last time you’ll see them.
Recommendations for Books and Movies: The Ultimate Gift, Chicken Noodle Soup for the Soul, I Can Only Imagine, Greater, and Jesus Revolution.
(I kinda rushed this- sorry! 😭 I will edit soon!)
