Thanks to my asoiaf re-read I'm starting to like jaime x brienne, so I was wondering when and how did you start shipping it?

This is the most romantic thing that ever happened in the entirety of ASOIAF. It is clearly, undoubtedly, written in a way that you HAVE to understand there's a romance going on. THIS MAN IS. JUMPING IN A BEAR PIT. OH MY GOD.

And like. What follows.

He put his good hand on the marble rail and vaulted over, rolling as he hit the sand. The bear turned at the thump, sniffing, watching this new intruder warily. Jaime scrambled to one knee. Well, what in seven hells do I do now? He filled his fist with sand. "Kingslayer?" he heard Brienne say, astonished.

"Jaime." He uncoiled, flinging the sand at the bear's face. The bear mauled the air and roared like blazes.

"What are you doing here?"

"Something stupid. Get behind me." He circled toward her, putting himself between Brienne and the bear.

Until this moment I was amused, and baffled, and they were entertaining and thematically interesting (still think they are, and there's no need for a romance between them for it to be valid).

But this right here... "What are you doing?" "Something stupid"....... Sold for life. Because he is the Beast! He is the Beast of their Beauty and the Beast dynamics! Jaime is not a hero! He is a monstrous man!! And he is jumping on a bear pit to stand between the Beauty and a literal beast........ Honestly. The BALLS George has for this. I'm so so so basic. Sorry I can't add anything interesting to the Jaime/Brienne discussion. I'm just very weak for them.
