Fungus and friends, also from the rainy woods the other day. These are all honey mushrooms, though I’d venture to say it’s a number of different species. Possibly Armillaria mellea, A. ostoyae, A. gallica, A. tabescens, who knows! I once heard someone say that weathered Armillarea mushrooms are virtually indistinguishable by sight alone (except that A. tabescens lacks the ring on its stipe that the other species have). And I think that’s true of the baby forms, as well.
