...Anyway, I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old format. This took a lot of tweaking and it's not perfect at all, but if anyone wants it I'll be uploading it soonish now!

You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:

Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)

Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.

To add the style, follow the instructions:

Click on "install".

Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there. (Step-by-step copied from the lovely dorothyoz39 who wrote this in a reply!) If you don't want the sticky header you can remove the labelled script at the top of the css below /* Sticky Header*/

----- Known issues:

The search bar moves out of place on bigger monitors when not using the sticky header. You can adjust its position yourself under "/*Moves the search bar*/" by changing the "Left" numbers. I can't think of a way around that just yet without adjusting it yourself!

Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable!

Only two columns in Masonry view. Unfixable, I can't figure out how to add another column in smaller screens. Tumblr creates columns based on monitor size, if I try adding another column (because it doesn't exist) it just perpetually loads on screen.

Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.

Solved issues: (Update)

Menus need to be manually closed SOLVED! in V.4 and updated in V.5! The menu & icon WILL scroll with you if you have removed the sticky header CSS, however, clicking anywhere on screen will make the Menu disappear still. DISCLAIMER: If you remove any of the header icons with Ublock the Account or Settings icon will disappear off screen or overlap with other icons. This is just cosmetic and the menus will still close - see option 4 for a solution to this problem!

Masonry view in searches is now fixed!

Removed Xkits new text for xkit users (update)

Added a new guide to make moving the Settings and Accounts buttons easier if you remove icons with Ublock. Example: /*If there are none icons on the right (of the settings icon), right: 120px;*/ Now you don't have to fiddle around moving the icons yourself, you can just choose the number value that works for you! Ctrl-F Search for Accounts Icon or Settings Icon in the code to find this!

NEW UPDATE 16/08/23, 23:55 BST v6.5: Figured out how to reorganise the icons in the header. Let me know if you have any problems with it and make sure to update your Userstyle! Some icons are hidden with Display: Block; you can hide more icons with this method!

Make sure to yell at Tumblr for removing the icons as well as the horrible dashboard update here! v7.5 Fixed icons for all posts and put them back where they came from!

So I want to preface this by saying that I LOVE Aziraphale’s character (I equally adore Crowley’s character, but I relate more to Aziraphale). However, I’ve noticed that the crux of a lot of Aziraphale stans’ arguments for why Aziraphale wanted to go to heaven are that he had no other choice and that Metatron was threatening him with death, which is a take that is technically not confirmed in the show (as of S2, watch me be wrong in S3, lol). All we know is that the Metatron is powerful, the Metatron offered Aziraphale a job position which he initially didn’t want, and upon being told that Crowley could come with him and be an angel again, Aziraphale changed his mind. The “give me coffee or give me death” threat theory evidence is there, but again, not explicitly confirmed. We don’t know that Aziraphale made the decision to go to heaven under the threat of death, only that Aziraphale believes that he can make real changes and improve heaven, and that he would like Crowley to come with him, help him make those changes, and be an angel again. I think these desires alone are a compelling enough reason to think that Aziraphale isn’t in the wrong for wanting to go to heaven. If Aziraphale is successful in changing heaven he could improve untold millions of lives. With how much Aziraphale values doing the right thing (taking in Jimbriel, for example), I think it would make sense for his character to choose this potential for good over his relationship with Crowley.

I like the “Aziraphale thinks it’s an injustice that Crowley fell” post best for explaining why Aziraphale wanted Crowley to be an angel again. But of course, Aziraphale isn’t a perfect moral decision maker, it’s obvious with the “but you’re the bad guys” line that Aziraphale still holds some (unconscious or not) bias against hell, which after millennia of being manipulated by heaven, makes perfect sense. This shows that he might think that heaven has greater potential for positive change than it actually does, lending validity in the argument to Crowley’s point “I think I understand a lot better than you do.”

Overall, I think It makes it hurt worse if Aziraphale made the choice to go to heaven himself instead of being forced into it, as it represents a greater challenge for the Ineffables’ relationship. When faced with an abusive system, Aziraphale wants to fight it and Crowley wants to flee, this is a 180 reversal of their original character roles in the before the beginning scene where Angel!Crowley wants to ask questions and Aziraphale wants to keep quiet. This reversal shows how much their characters have learned from each other and how much they’ve developed. But in the end, fight (ask questions, stand up) or flight (avoid, run away, don’t ask questions) are both fear responses. the only thing that will actually solve their problems is trying to protect what they love.

This is actually a pretty good point to address, thanks for the ask! I think s2 already gives us enough evidence that Aziraphale was (subtly or not) coerced into making that decision, but we don't have to discuss every single evidence that proves that here. Let's ignore that in this answer.

Because I also think that if Aziraphale made his decision 110% out of his own volition, with no threat at all (let's put his past ab*se aside for now, just for the sake of the argument) and Metatron was just a misjudged guy(gn) who offered him a job offer, that doesn't make Aziraphale as asshole at all.

Aziraphale was trying to do good, for everyone. Just like Crowley was when he was asking the questions that made him fall. If we pay attention, their conversation in Before The Beginning parallels the Final Fifteen a bit, especially the "if I'm in charge, I can make a difference" and "if I was the one running it all, I'd like it if someone asked questions". I believe trying to change the system is extremely noble and it's baffling people think he's being stupid for this. Fantasy is there to show us that dragons can be beaten and all that.(And also, changing the sytem is CHANGE, it doesn't mean he's conforming to the system. Dismantling and building a new one counts as changing the system, y'all). It's sad that Aziraphale thinks he must self-sacrifice for that though, and I hope he learns he doesn't have to.

I'll even link a great post that discusses what may have been Aziraphale's intentions in that situation.

Now, addressing the offer to make Crowley and angel again. This is more complicated and I'll dedicate more time to it here. There are so many reasons that could have made Aziraphale propose that, and they don't make him an asshole at all either. They're much more in character than the absolute worst some ppl are assuming of him bc of this moment:

He probably thinks Crowley's Fall was unfair, as you said, and I'm totally on that boat. He wants to fix God's mistake, and I feel like some ppl don't see how huge and blasphemous it is that an angel thinks that.

He wants to keep Crowley safe and be together, and he's doing that again sacrificing all the other things he loves (his life on Earth, food, his bookshop, his BOOKS) bc everything pales in comparison to finally , finally, keeping Crowley out of danger after all these millennia.

He wanted to heal Crowley's trauma. Everyone, read that again bc I think it's so important. That was his main intention. His method was wrong? Yes, but he didn't know any better and his heart was in the right place. Imagine you have a loved one that suffered a trauma (for example, a sexual assault) and you are granted the magical, previously impossible, ability to erase that moment, to stop it from ever happening. Wouldn't you offer them that possibility? It would almost be unfair if you didn't. They may say no but you'd have to make the offer.

Aziraphale doesn't know any better bc he and Crowley never talk about it (and this is nobody's fault. Maybe God's). So how could he? The season plainly told us in the dialogue that communication is something both of them need to work on, and they will. But meanwhile we shouldn't blame Aziraphale for something he couldn't have known. (Just like, if Aziraphale was threatened or whatever, we can't blame Crowley, bc he didn't know)

Crowley doesn't seem to be comfortable with his demon identity and the Fall, we see it in the way he downplays his Fall to Aziraphale but suffers about it when he's alone. We see it in the way he doesn't like being a demon and calls himself "former demon". We see it in the way he hates being called nice and kind. We see it all throughout s2 when he's afraid to make a commitment (why didn't he tell Aziraphale he was homeless?). We see it in his self sabotage tendencies (which is a running joke in the show but man does it hit hard as a CPTSD metaphor). So I don't blame Aziraphale for noticing Crowley's suffering and wanting do to everything he can to help. And he never could, until now. So he grabbed this once-in-an-existence opportunity.

Crowley's Fall was a traumatic experience that happened to him and he didn't deserve it. It was a bad, he suffered and still suffers. He didn't need to Fall to love Aziraphale, he didn't need to suffer to become who he is. There are several healthy ways to grow that don't demand trauma. Crowley has learned to live with his trauma and grow despite it, bc he had to and he's a fighter and I'm so proud of him bc of it, but it was a violent event that he didn't deserve and that shouldn't have happened to him, period. Let's be careful not to fall into the trap of "traumatic experience for character development" (for example, the rape as character development trope for female characters that makes me want to puke. Angel!Crowley gets a lot of the female character treatment and anti-autistic bias too, but that's for another post).

So yeah, that's the gist of it. There's so much more than can be said but I think we'll explore it in other posts. Nothing justifies the hate and the dissecting of every interaction aziracrow ever had to call Aziraphale an ab*sive partner. We already have more than enough information to know that he isn't.

Just to be clear I'm just extending your point and agreeing with you here, fandomflux33! I think what s2 showed us on screen is already more than enough not to hate on Aziraphale, even if we take everything face-value.

And also, readers in general, I hope I'm not coming across as minimising Crowley's suffering in the Final Fifteen here. He was more than justified in his suffering and disappointment and I grieved and cried with him for months. When we're talking about Aziraphale's side we're not saying Crowley's is invalid or wrong, and vice-versa. Shades of grey always, ppl. The season even ended with both of them painted in shades of grey and blurred edges 🩶

Light clarifications; The fae is not the one choosing the bones. The bone is taken at random. Each bone, no matter the size or importance, is worth a full million dollars. You must also declare the exact number first, you can't go bone-by-bone. You either say 2 or you say 10, you can't work your way up to a higher number. The bones are removed instantaneously, and the money is given immediately as well. You will not get in government trouble for acquiring the money.

Tell me in the tags/replies how many bones you'd let the fae take. And as always, reblog for bigger sample size.

Say what you want about the 2023 Shakespeare in The Park production of Hamlet, but the choices made in that play WORKED. Having Hamlet wear a black hoodie and camo pants and him dramatically putting his hood up when he was pissed off was inspired. Having Horatio video tape Claudius on an iPhone camera from the side of the stage during the play within the play was hilarious. Having the play within the play be a hip hop dance number that represented the murder!?! Fantastic. Having Ophelia be a singer before she went mad and having a beautiful voice that everyone loved to listen to and then seeing her singing get worse and worse as she got nearer to death?!?! Hamlet pulling out his iphone after killing Polonius to show his mom a picture of his dad compared to a picture of Claudius and angrily swiping back and forth between the two as he said “What judgement would step from this… to this?” The crowd fucking lost it every time. Horatio singing to Hamlet as he died made me fully sob every time. The way they did the ghost on stage was so chilling and I can’t even accurately describe it, you just had to be there. Hamlet being deeply exasperated the entire time was just perfect. Hamlet and Horatio had a secret handshake. Laertes inexplicably carried an acoustic guitar case for much of the play which was very funny but also hit you with the heartbreaking implication that he had used to play while Ophelia sang and he stopped carrying it after she died. It was peak teenage-angst-hamlet and it was so dear to me. PLEASE if anyone has a recording, send it to me.
