Hi!! Hello!! I've just been passively listening to your blog for a bit and I just have to say. auauua you actually giving Nahida the spotlight she deserves is so refreshing! I love Wanderer in all his forms, but the lack of character studies/general brainworms about Nahida is so sad to me D: She's an archon!! You'd think people would talk about her more in the general fandom... Idk, personally, she's a pretty relatable character in the way of having to become an adult for the people around her (in her case, becoming a knowledgeable god despite having the mind of a child for the sages) like!! She is smart, but she is a KID. Haven't a fair number of people experienced that? And justifying the behavior too- like I (personally) think that Nahida tries to make the horrendous behavior of generations of sages seem Less Bad bc 'oh, they were probably so lost without the Greater Lord.. and I wasn't what they were looking for' Because admitting that you were hurt for a reason that was entirely NOT YOUR FAULT actually feels Really Bad. LOCAL BABY GOD IS RELATABLE TO THE MASSES!! (Could be a bad take, I do need to rewatch the Sumeru quests.. it's been so long.. my little guys..) BEFORE I GET TOO SIDETRACKED UH. yeah. Thank you for the Radish Thoughts they are really really appreciated by someone who also thinks Nahida is Pretty Neat!

WTF UR GONNA MAKE ME CRY IM SO GLAD. I love Nahida I’m glad it resonates. Tbh i think that take isn’t bad at all bc I actually also had a similar interpretation of her downplaying her neglect in the same way she downplays her worth as an Archon bc obviously there’s overlap between the two

When we learn she’s being imprisoned for the first time in the AQ, Nahida’s response is quite literally her justifying why the Sages’ decision makes “rational” sense because (like u said!) she’s not Rukkhadevata and by extension isn’t a “real enough archon”

Nahida internalizes the “my existence has little meaning” to the point she justifies beating herself up as an inferior archon over Dunyazard’s presumed death as “rationally observing the distance between herself and a real archon”:

And also the first thing she does when we set her free is apologize for letting the Sages neglect her. We also get her basically saying she was never angry about what was done to her until she was being rescued:

She goes onto say she’s going to punish the sages harshly, but then it’s noted by multiple characters they think she wasn’t harsh enough with her punishment. Which is a haha aww Nahida doesn’t have it in her to be harsh. But it’s also like haha aww. Nahida doesn’t have it in her to be harsh even to the people who dehumanized her and kept her in a cage for generations Zjsjmxkxjnsj

Nahida as a person seems to be someone who clings to a sense of personal control , my main reasoning for this is it’s directly stated in her character stories the reason she gives up her Gnosis to Dottore for information would be to have more knowledge and therefore control over a situation:

With one Gnosis still in her hands, Nahida could not help but hesitate. She barely knew more about the Gnoses than she knew the "truth" of the world. […] Shaking hands in bargain means an equal compromise for both sides, a far cry from any victory. On the other hand, turning down the bargain indicates a certain type of "ignorance," which, obviously, would more easily invite a loss of control. Thus did the "God of Wisdom" instantly find her answer...

So her rationalizing her own neglect or Anything Bad That Is Done to Her to me is a way of asserting a sense of control over her situation when she has none, just as u said!

Mystic Messenger Saeran’s AE Thoughts (.......And Prayers..) #Spoilerz

Hello, I just finished Saeran’s after ending and I have a lot of things to say and I am going to write it down while I'm still all keyed up about it.

First of all… Please DO NOT ask me how much money I spent to finish this as fast as I did…. I’m grown but my bank account is certainly going to have a good ole fashioned CHUCKLE at this….. It’s been a long quarantine I deserve a lil happiness as a treat methinks!

I have been playing this absolutely insane game since I think 2016? When I first started playing the deep routes had JUST come out I think? And I was just finishing up high school and am now a college grad...lmao

I’ve played all routes at least once except Jaehee but i’ve seen walkthroughs of her route (I’ve heard it makes you hate Jumin and he’s my favorite so um. hehe). V’s and Saeran’s routes I found to be so emotionally intense and just….a lot and I've been waiting a long ass god damn time for this after ending okay…. I would theorize and make up an ending in my head but i’m no writer so it was hard to figure out lol. I’m a Jumin stan mostly but I love everybody and yeah I should probably play that jumin dlc too but I need like a DAY to recover from Saeran’s AE. Enough about me HERE are my thoughts on it overall

Major Saeran AE Spoilers under da cut!

Can we please discuss V showing up to the C+R conference room with basically chloroform and made everybody Pass Out like??? I was alone in my room at like midnight just SCREAMING at my phone???? And the creepy ass CG ???? It’s like that gif of sarah paulson from ahs being like “I put arsenic in the wine….and the pasta”

Anyway I screamed at V a lot during this process!!

Loved RFA being sweet and kind to saeran (before V fucking drugged them…)

This is such common V behavior “I have to do it all myself...there’s no other way..” GIRL SHUT UPPP You do this every route....

SO many CG’s and I enjoy them a lot

Saeran’s sprite looks a little TOO crisp compared to everyone else but maybe its a glitch??? V next to him is in 480p while saeran is like 1080p

Can we HAVE A DISCUSSION ABOUT JUMIN HAN BEING THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME AND HE LOST EVERYTHING IN THIS AE……. he just took the blame and moved on jumin what the hell….. I love him so much r we serious? He watched his 2 closest friends betray him in the worst way and found out abt how Rika abused Saeyoung and Saeran???? I felt just AWFUL. Terrible ...Terrible….

Rika’s change in demeanor from Saeran's actual route is certainly a Choice. I find her much more bearable this time around and unfortunately i think I was too nice to her and ended up with a bad end LMFAO

I was happy to see Saeran stand up for himself and become stronger and confident. You go king!

The CG of Yoosung laying in Zen’s lap is everything to me…

HOWEVER YUP I sure did get a bad ending and I was so mad fdsafdskfdhsf ! (I would be happy to clarify how I got the good one the second time.) MAKE SURE To SAVE EARLY in days 2 and 3 bc the branches on day 4 is where the bad end will show up. For me it was the first day 4 chat and then a story mode titled “SAVIOR”.... If you see that RUN FOR THE HILLS!!

I was so mad! But I had saved in day 2 and replayed and MANAGED to get good end

I’m obsessed with everyone calling V and Rika “that psychotic couple” like…..its true its true…

No those two are so toxic… V’s route was torture watching them go on and on about the sun like yo can yall just call each other babe like normal people.

I respect straight people but not V and RIka that shit was just wrong… Straight marriage was a mistake

Oh lord i also FULLY Forgot Rika killed the twins’ mother…. Yeah that scene was um Certainly a lot but it needed to happen eventually

Like it’s good they know but damn that storyline is just so bleak

I think it was satisfying TO A DEGREE….To see Rika understand where she was wrong, why she was wrong, fess up and even APOLOGIZE! I was very surprised.

Saeran and Saeyoung are Certainly twins with the amount that those two self sacrifice in every route MY GOD…..

The scene with Jumin talking to his father and the other scene of him praying oh my god I cannot tell you how happy I was to see him begin to understand and address his own feelings in a route that was not his own. My main problem with Jumin’s route has always been the trapping MC in his penthouse aspect.. This way Jumin understands love and emotions without being overly possessive !!! YAY also loved seeing him be on good terms with his dad who was surprisingly profound

That last Story mode was Really a Lot…. and Strange things occurred which I will get into in just a minute

Jumin becoming a politician is so funny but ngl … i see it.

Yoosung going to france to study pastries ok king I see u! (it made more sense to me than the vet thing anyway)

I was happy with how they handled it for the most part. I think Cheritz heard our feedback about V’s after ending and was like okay….let’s try something different

HOWEVER

Saeran…. Sweet kind saeran… IS SO AFFECTIONATE HAHA….

He must have said I love you like 300 times…..very mushy gushy flowery language...and maybe that’s just his personality but for me it was like eating cake with buttercream cake. It means well, but god damn is it sugary and going to cause a stomach ache later.

He was just… SO MUCH! SO forward and ON all the time in his affections. I honestly felt kind of smothered and by day 3 and 4 I was sooooo over all the compliments… King you’ve come a very long way, but ur still putting MC on a pedestal and probably need to see a therapist.

Nextly….Rika and V….. Naw that knock out gas really ...that hurt lol. Coming from “I would do anything to protect RFA” V? Idk like…. EYE felt betrayed reading that. It was just hurtful. I can’t even imagine how the members would have felt as they were passing out. It was just so cruel. I suppose I understand why but like?? Just TERRIBLE

Them being in cahoots with the agency and the prime minister..HUH??? Also too much

V just felt so irresponsible like I do understand that he ended up in a weird web of secrets that’s hard to untangle but he’s so fucking stubborn he’s SO stubborn it makes me insane. Like sir… It seems like in other routes he wanted to try to protect Rika and the RFA.. But in this AE it seems more to me that he was like yeah i’m protecting Rika and That’s It… so fucking hurtful to me. Both of y’all apologize ESPECIALLY to the twins and Jumin..

The forgiveness thing…… Okay so I think some people will not like that Saeran decided to “forgive” the people who hurt him (Rika, V, Saejoong, his mother). I would point out that I actually think this was approached somewhat well. He says at one point that he doesn’t think they’re good or bad, just people. I think he sounded mature and like this was the way for him personally to accomplish his healing process. Would I have loved for Saeran to flip V and Rika off and kick Saejoong off a cliff? Yea I really would. But like…. If that’s what HE needs to do to heal then who am I to judge?

HOWEVER…. Everything Eye just said goes out the window when the scenes at the end with Saejoong come up… I was PERPLEXED. Like why did he HUG his deranged father who just kicked the shit out of him??? Also all the chat options that MC has with him r like blah blah you’re like this because no one loves you were so corny to me LMFAOOOO?

AND WHEN HE WAS IN THE ROOM LATER WITH SAERAN… i’m sorry but if that were me I would have called a nurse to deck his ass. Cool he turned himself in YOU SUCK SOOOO BAD AND I NEVER WANT YOU TO COME NEAR SAEYOUNG AND SAERAN AGAIN THANKS.

*scratches ass* I wish I got to see saeyoung and saeran finally sit down and have that first conversation after a long time and hug CG but the ending was fine I GUESS….. I dont care about ROMANCE I want those boys to be happy brothers together

Anyway that was really emotionally exhausting but I fr think I got it out of my system after literal years… And I can rest in peace knowing the choi twins are happy. THATS ALL I WANTED TO KNOW!!!!

Cue her admitting that the guy she was into basically alluded to intending to ask her out officially the next week (might’ve been a school dance coming up..? probably something like that)… but her also admitting she’d been “curious” about “what it would be like to kiss a girl, y’know-” she had a friend where she’d lived previously that was into girls, etc… heh, any wlw probably gets the vague ‘oh I have a friend who, yknow-’ when trying to hedge about curiousity.

knowing that my own five year anniversary at rookies is in about two months makes me actually really emotional, and most of you know, i don’t really get emotional about stuff like this.

i’m here to talk about all the fucking shit storms i brought. starting from good ol’ ellyrk, who turned into yuriirk and currently known as hyunark, as well as, rkxwoozi, aka jihoonrk, fucking namtaerk, eunwoork, minhyunrk, younghyunrk 1.0, junhoerk aka younghyunrk 2.0. i am about 100% sure i’m missing someone BUT YOU KNOW, we can let that muse stay in dungeon vile.

not even 10 minutes later

oh yeah- minhork was it? minhxrk??? idk what his url was, shortlived lovely muse i tell you. jisungrk was a thing for like 6 months. however, as you can see, i have a lot of muses, 11 in total, well 8 if you remove younghyun 1.0 & 2.0 and jihoon.

its been nearly five years since i joined rookies and ive made a lot of memories here. good, bad, amazing, mediocre. a lot of memories than pretty much just range. can you believe i’ve actually cried a few times about rookies related thing? yeah, me neither, but here we are hahaha. i will probably not edit this at all, so if you see spelling mistakes, or maybe something is repeated, just ignore it please, its from the heart.

this place really helped me develop my writing, vocabulary and definitely social skills. i might suck at threading and replying on time, but i have to say, all the muns here are amazing!!! i remember when i first joined, oh boy was i fucking terrified of the fact that i SUCKED at writing. i was so cautious about what i write and how i spoke and i think some of you could remember it haha. i’ve also managed to make some amazing friends throughout my stay here, all of them older than me, as well haha and i was babied so much i always found it funny, but very thankful because some of the life lectures i got where definitely needed.

however, i will take a few minutes to write about the last three standing; hyunark, jihoonrk and younhhyunrk

hyunark:

my first ever tumblr muse. my first rookies muse. my longest standing muse. she;s gone through a lot, and honestly, she will continue to do; i wasn’t all that good with her in the beginning, now i see a lot of gaps and weird stuff whenever i have to go read something to remind myself of events and so on. however, i really love her, and i’ve gotten a bit too attached to her haha. can you blame me tho? from ellyrk, to yuriirk, now hyunark, there have been alot of ups and downs but i am happy where she’s come. to being a potential walking scandal, to being in two survival shows, to being the first muse at rookies to not be offered a contract renewal, to another survival show, to a nova trainee after being cut short twice by hyunbin. she had gone through alot of character development and its shaped her a lot better than i ever could, for which i need to say my thanks to the mods of rookies for it, because without them, hyunark would probably be headed in a completely different direction haha. however, she still focuses on producing, writing lyrics and ever since she got into nova as a trainee, she’s focused on her dance as well because she doesn’t wanna be called an uncooked noodle anymore. her dream is to be a recognized producer and lyricist, and will fight for that title.

jihoonrk:

jihoork was previously known as rkxwoozi. i even used his original blog when i re-applied with him;; he lasted a bit under a year in all honesty the first time and i specifically remember that the reason for that was being signed under trc. it was a pretty unfortunate time for him to be signed, with all the scandals that happened and what not. i was a tad regretful that i dropped him to be honest, which is all the reason to why he was brought back. tbh, he didn’t change in that like 6 months gap he was away. he was the same moody gremlin everyone knew and loved. if you had asked me, a few years ago if i thought jihoon would debut, i’d laugh and say no fucking way, but here we are, when he is a member of convex and got to debut with his longets lasting friend, sehun and best friend seungcheol. so he is living the dream you know? even if he doesn’t show it, he is grateful and appreciates everything that’s happening around him and to him. his main goal right now is to be the variety ace of convex and is working slowly to achieve that goal.

yonghyunrk:

ahhh here we go;; my last muse who had to undergo something similar to jihoonrk;; i brought him in, because i had this idea of a metal head, who really just wanted fame and girl and guys. however, stuff happened, i couldn’t get him to have threads i wanted and so i dropped him. again, i pretty much reapplied a few months later with junhoerk which was basically younghyunrk 2.0 and eventually, i realized that the muse deserved its original fc and here we are again with younghyunrk. to be honest, i don’t even know how i managed to get him to go to mga4, but he went and caused chaos with chungha and we all know how much fun he actually had haha;; he still doesn’t like dance, and will probably not enjoy it until he gets signed and coach tells him he can’t dance and JUST out of spite, he will get better at it. ultimately, he wishes to debut on a band, he wouldn’t really mind if he gets placed at any instrument, as long as he gets to sing. he still wants to reach paradise city, as guns ‘n roses have said.

quick mentions to some of my other muses as well. its funny how all my other muses lasted for months as well;; honorary mentions will go to namtaerk, minhxrk and probably minhyunrk, i won’t be really talking about them, so focusing on eunwoork and jisungrk;

i can without a doubt say that these are my more interesting muses, or eunwoo at least. her dream was to become a musical actress and was a serial dater; she’d date a lot of people, girls and boys, and wouldn’t really bat an eyelash once it was all over. never really had long term relationships either. she was into photography and her photography instagram was more popular than her personal one and she didn’t mind haha.

jisungrk wanted to be a professional football player and he was never really interested in becoming an idol, which made him fun to play. however, he was a really young muse, i think i made him 16? yeah, i think he was 16 and after that i realized i can’t do young muses;; its just weird for me, i have no clue what middle school kids actually do haha, i remember i just slept and did nothing all day, didn’t even study whoops.

but yeah, these two muses were very short lived but fun and i think that one day, if rkforthmuse is allowed, i highly doubt it, i will bring back eunwoork because she deserved more attention than i ever gave her.

ABBIE - @seungcheolrk & @rkwon & @rkgwen - sunshine, my lovely amazing sunshine;; thank you. thank you, thank you. its been nearly five years of friendship, can you imagine it? soon, in just two months, it will be half a decade and i am extremely grateful;; i can’t explain it and i know that even saying it on a daily basis to you, it won’t be enough;; its funny how we started talking through rksoo and ellyrk, and now here we are, four years later, rkjicheol being in the same company, debuting together, in the same group. in all honesty, i remember when i dropped jihoon and then picked him up after like, literally two months, and it was one of the best decisions i ever made. i always have fun talking to you, plotting and threading and i honestly wish i did it a lot more than i currently do, but you know, uni is kicking my ass hasljdhlas anyway;; thank you, sunshine, thank you a lot and for these almost five years i love you a lot 🍅🍅🍅

Sorta! :)) I’m taking up International Studies, which is like a fraternal twin of IR? IS (at least in my uni) is a lot more general compared to IR which delves deeper into diplomacy. (As in if u wanna be a Diplomat vibes.) I spent the last three years studying theories, tactics (lack of a better term but like the soft power + foreign policy shit I see it as manipulation styles LOL), and the European Union (I major in European Studies). Just need to point that out in case it matters(??)

Could you please recommend me some sites in English language which you consider useful for your studies? Sites where I can read about current international questions, global challenges?

For research papers, I rely on credible journals I find through google or the databases my university provides for us. My uni is a research university so students have access to a lot of journal databases. You should check ur uni’s website to see what student perks you have. You might have full access to JSTOR! Make ur tuition worth it HAHA. JSTOR is a classic but I find stuff over at Emerald Insight too.

For current events, news sites are definitely your friend. My professors would sometimes assign supplementary articles for us. They get their shit from Reuters, The Atlantic and Global Asia to name a few. Maybe that can be a good place to start in terms of current events/run-downs on certain issues.

I don’t go to these sites myself (like on my own volition) but back when I tried to be updated on news, I downloaded this app called Press Reader which gave me access to different magazines and newspapers so that could also be another option! I just checked and apparently it’s free but I know it was paid back then so yay? (I got it for free bc of my uni).

Press Reader gives you access (this sounds like a skillshare ad HAHAH) to a lot of different media from many places and that can really help you develop your critical thinking skills + see different perspectives on the same issue. This is a skill which is very important for us IS/IR students. (NGL everyone should have this skill! We should be able to look at different sources and then come to conclusions on our own/see patterns).

In terms of books, the only book I can swear by is Global Politics by Andrew Heywood. It’s not short but the font is big?? I found it online freshman year so if you need it I think I can try making a dropbox for it? You can mosey over to libgen.io (free pdfs!) though. I bet it’s there. I got a physical copy from Amazon (I invested since I know it would be useful) and the information on there was useful for my other classes. It has a lot of general IS stuff like the basic theories (realism, liberalism bleh bleh), history, and notable people. Definitely a good source for foundational information which you can build on in your essays or use as a source!!

I’m not sure what year you are so you might know this already? But since I’m already talking about stuff useful for my personal studies I’ll just thrown in this part LOL.

I think the most important thing an IR/IS student should know is how to analyze information. Especially since we write a lot of essays. Honestly IS to me is just professional overthinking but make it nerdy somehow?? You need to know how to apply what u learned to what u see playing out in the international arena. Analytical skills are really important! Some assignments I got required us to read three journal articles then write a cohesive piece about it. Sometimes, we have to watch videos then answer guide questions. This is where regular reading and healthy media consumption comes in.

Best part is: You can practice analyzing content using any kind of material. It doesn’t have to be international affairs stuff!

Do you watch people like dangelowallace, tiffanyferg or even those tea channels (lol) on Youtube? There’s a massive rise of analytical content the past few years and I think you can study the way these people break down drama/internet lore. What makes their video so interesting? How does everything connect? How do they organize their content?

There’s a reason why these videos gain millions of views. They make issues accessible and neat but they make it so interesting at the same time. You can also read fashion magazines since they also have articles which analyze style or talk about a specific piece.

Honorable mentions: Buzzfeed Unsolved, Storytime Mukbhangs, Kennie JD’s Bad movies and a beat, Crime stories youtubers, etc.

Alternatively, watch your favorite movies and take time to think about why you liked it! Do a character analysis! Watch video essays about your favorite movies/shows on Youtube!! It’s nice to just chill and watch these stuff but at times, try being an active watcher and take note of their reporting style. Talk to your friends about shows you watched. Gather their insights and come up with your own. Analyze popular memes! (Why do spongebob memes have a gorilla grip on gen z??? Why is the white girl dance so freeing? — ngl I do have an opinion about this phenomenon as an asian who “dances like a white girl” but this is so long already HAHAH)

here are a couple of videos:

Mina Le (Fashion) -- In this video, Mina breaks down the wardrobe of Emily in Paris and how the choices weren’t so good in terms of the storyline. Emily is seen in designer clothing but her character never shows interest or awareness regarding fashion. (this is jus one point she talks about) For viewers who aren’t into fashion or something, they might not notice this detail at all! But since Mina is viewing this show from a fashion perspective, she was able to pick up these details and connect it to the bigger picture.

It’s the same for IS. We look at things through different perspectives and from there we can make sense of certain decisions or events! We deal with a lot of problem solving and above all else, we study events so we can understand them. People like Mina Le are perfect examples of good researchers!! They just study different things but its all the same.

ModernGurlz (Fashion/Contemp Stuff) -- This video dissects the style of the characters in Mean Girls and how it says so much about the personality of each girl. For Cady, she has a lot of different styles and it really reflects how her character changes throughout the movie. It helps as a visual guide for us viewers but her clothes tell a story too.

For IS, Every decision made in the International Arena is important. Everything tells a story. Small actions can say so much about the bigger picture so its important for us to pick up on details the way ModernGurlz did so we can explain developments of a certain issue. (Like how Cady started with very conservative style, then she met the Plastics and that changed her and led her to wearing more revealing clothing, then that gets stripped away because of the plot learns her lesson blah blah and she goes back to slightly relaxed clothes combined with revealing clothes aka her true self i guess).

If you’re not into fashion, you can just analyze whatever ur interested in! These are just some videos I enjoy watching. :)) Astrology is another cool practice! I started getting into astrology and it requires a lot of analysis. It’s fun so it doesnt feel like a chore.

Final Word (HAHSDHF SORRY THIS IS SO DRAMATIC)

I honestly don’t study or read about international affairs unless I happen to chance upon it. The most helpful things for me aren’t even related to IS. HHH I watch and read a lot of different content and I think that helped me so much with this course!

I love memes a lot and I usually plug them in a lot of conversations. I guess I use that skill when it comes to my homework in IS when they ask us to talk about a certain topic? I can think of stuff that might be able to connect i guess??? IDK KSDHFKSHD IDK IF any of this makes sense im sorry I just like talking about stuff shdkfhasd. If these tips don’t apply, let it fly. <3 You just need to find your own way of learning.

YESSSSSSSS Aizawa and Mic are high school friends so I’m pretty sure it’s canon they waste time together, Blood King and Dog Hound are canon pals too so they also most probs chill together too! Blood King is also the same age as Aizawa and Mic so they probs used to go to school together too!!! And with Dog Hound being 32, Midnight being 31 and Cementoss and Thirteen being 28 they’re more or less all the same age, so I like to think they spend free time together~ some scenes with the teachers make me think they’re good pals with the older ones too, it’s a really fun group of people to be honest!

I like to think Jirou’s got at least basic knowledge for how to play any instrument ever, so when she’s laying around in the common room once she got used to her friends listening to her play she’d bring with herself the smaller and easier ones to carry! An ukulele has a super nice sound and is small enough to bring around the dorms haha

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I think I already answered this question? At some point? But I can’t find it, so in general my take is that I highly doubt Bakugou’s body isn’t built to withstand and not take damage from his own quirk (since his hands are made to hold up with it, I feel like the rest of his body is tailored around his quirk too), but I’m always up for disabled characters and the idea of Bakugou signing is beautiful to me, so I don’t mind the AU one bit! Dunno if I’ll ever draw for it tho, drawing jsl when I don’t know it is hard. I know that from experience.

That said, I do find the fics in which Bakugou becomes deaf because of his quirk a bit hard to believe most of the times? Because in all of them his ears are the only things taking damage for the continuous use of his quirk and I just sit here like, his eyes should be taking damage too. Normal eyes aren’t made to withstand explosions and stun grenades every day all day, so if his ears aren’t biologically made to hold against his quirk his eyes shouldn’t be either.

Like, I read those fics and I find them real hard to believe because the authors aren’t pushing it hard enough, for me it’s either no damage at all or hoh AND visually impaired Bakugou, boy can’t be only half built to withstand his quirk that’d just be silly haha but that’s probably just me, the AU is Good 👍

ahhh honestly it just comes from my knowledge of these things...honestly i’ve always had a weird thing with birthdays even before i knew about zodiac things, like some people just seemed like they would be born in certain months, and months/seasons would have different vibes and evoke different feelings and whatnot so when i started to learn about astrology i would connect those feelings to different traits and it just kinda clicked for me idk. rooney just seemed like she would have a may birthday because i’ve always associated her with spring and she’s also just very taurus to me, very earthy and into homey things but also very stubborn and feisty. i chose april/aries for santi because...tbh he reminds me of myself LMAO he’s an aries manchild and encompasses fire and childlike nature to me. and gianni i always felt like he had a november birthday, it’s funny because at first i was considering scorpio for him but then i realized he was 100% sagittarius, wise and passionate and full of wanderlust and curiosity...yeh

basically just observe all the different sun signs, moon signs and rising signs and see what fits your characters best, or you could start by thinking of which month would fit your character best!!

mmmm i think probably the first thing that caught donovans attention was ian’s a goodass pianist & donovan was like whoa, & the attraction grew from there. & then like “look at this lil scruffy guy who doesnt give a shit” idk man. why is this guy so distant at rehearsal & then real laid back at the bar. why do the dancers let him nap on the chaise lounge in their changing room. i guess his attraction was fuled by curiosity

ian was really paranoid & suspicious of donovan for a long time bc donovan treated him like a human & ian wasnt used to that. but now its like “donovans good and i like him.” ian is not complicated in that regard

jules was home schooled & sort of as a consequence of that she is not great at socializing w people her own age. shes used to hanging out w people older than her. socializing as an adult is hard!!!!! so ian showing up one day just happened to work out. shes a compassionate person & loves how ian is basically harmless, despite his rough appearance. & ian loves that shes so small & kind & good & excited about things he doesnt understand like anime & video games. he must protect her & she must protect him

donovan thinks ians cute like how a stray dog is cute. a stray might always have some behavior problems & etc but theyre still scruffy lil buddies that mean well & u dont have the heart to keep them off the couch even though they shed. ian likes that donovan is warm and comfortable and doesnt get mad when he messes up & some other stuff i dont know how to explain with words

it seems like Ian is "a no good human thing" as they call it (who are they and do they really..??). im really curious, if you don't mind answering that, is he inspired by at least something? he surely has some hobbies mby...? yes, the drinking thing.. but everyone wakes up at some point, right?? also you're always saying only bad things about him. it could be that i don't understand life, or maybe you/your characters

hehehe i like this ask.ian does not give good first impression & the little snapshots i draw of him tend to lean p heavily on his delinquent side. but heres the deal. ian is a musician! his true passion is music. he studied music in university & his current job is making music. he loves his cat & bob ross & taking walks & astro boy & mini golf & cheez its & pinball & socks & people watching & dive bar culture & other stuff. & he likes donovan & jules a lot. but he has some problems that inhibit his ability to thrive & he doesnt know how to help himself & he makes poor choices. but hes an ok person overall

1. WHAT GOT YOU INTO SLBP, AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN THROWING MONEY AT VOLTAGE?

Twas a blazing hot day in August 2k16 and I was thirsty for some new otome games to successfully ignore my academic duties. So, I just got on some site and they were recommending the game and I was like, yeah sure why not?? (*also me while selling my soul to the Devil* Yeah, sure, why not??) I knew Voltage before from some gree games, and the art seemed nice, so… I actually got fully addicted about a month later, in September haha

Haven’t actually spent any money, because my mama would smack me across the head if she found out I was spending my money on games. And u know, I am broke.

2. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER, AND WHY? WHAT FIRST DREW YOU TO THEM?

I am in love with Date Masamune??????? Don’t ask me how it happened it just did and here I am???? Actually, I am a liar™, I know how it happened. I was playing the dumb secret tryst and the picture from his MS popped out and I was like “???? I want to kiss him????” basically I’m a shallow bitch lmao, but then I got over myself there but also I got curious, and apparently that’s how I fall for ppl/fictional characters bc the same thing happened with Okita from Destined to love??? I logged into tumblr and started browsing and went to posts +five months ago and somewhere between 1 am and blushing while looking at yet another post I fell in love?? The ES did the job before the MS though.

He’s so sweet??? and kind and gentle??? And he notices the small things and really cares about MC and her well-being?? He made her a lucky charm ffs can u imagine this really powerful person making u a good luck charm bc he doesn’t want you to feel lonely and worried??? I mean, sure, things were kinda awkward at the beginning, but they do get better. The whole romance thing is slow-burn, but that’s why I love it; it feels more natural. The character development!! You can actually feel the difference between the start of the route and the end. I think their relationship is a nice example of just how much can one person make you grow regardless of your relationship with them being platonic or romantic. And he values MC’s opinions!! Even on the things like war/clan despite her coming from a totally different place.

And and and those small intimacies like holding hands and cute kisses and touching foreheads? I am made of soft&cute this is my breathing substrate. And that blush is adorable and his eyes are beautiful and the story broke my heart he didn’t deserve all of that just let him be happy pls. I just, I love him so so much

3. ARE YOU STILL PLAYING THE GAME ITSELF, OR ARE YOU JUST ACTIVE IN FANDOM?

*whispers* Voltage, would you like my organs??? I’ve been playing since the moment I’ve joined and I’ve been sinking deeper and deeper. I wanted to be a casual player, but I have no chill and I’m already too attached to characters? Oops

Idk about others, bc I’m active only in the slbp department, but I like how active and open ppl here are. I haven’t seen a otome fandom this active in a long while? Everyone adds something, whether it’s a fic/hc or a drawing, a summary, a discussion or bunch of screenshots god bless u all

5. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU’D SEE MORE OF IN SAMURAI LOVE BALLAD PARTY?

I want MC to learn how to fight!! With actual weapons!! And brain!! Diplomacy!! Let her grow and adapt to her surroundings!! Let her fight and defend!! I get the whole pacifist thing, but self-defense is like basics when ur bf owns a province??? I’m getting tired of seeing her being left behind when her lover goes to war. I want to fite!! Or she could be a field medic, that’s a+++ too.

And like, if we could have some Masamune’s sprites where we can see both of his eyes… Or like… repeat the events so I can play everything I missed…. I can’t give u my money, but I have a pair of functioning kidneys…
