Aerith’s footsteps clambered to a stop. SOLDIER, that wasn’t good... and Cloud was still having trouble. She went as far to hold her stave in an almost-comical ‘I will whack you’ pose until they spoke up from beneath their helmet. That was a voice she could recognise even in the dark.

“KUNSEL??” Not only did her stance relax but she positioned herself more-so between him and the group — especially Barret who was running thin on patience. In the background Cloud gripped his head. Something about this place was wrong and this surprise greeting party wasn’t what she bargained for. He wasn’t like the others. They couldn’t just bullrush him until he passed out. It wasn’t polite to attack your boyfriend.

“I’m escaping.” Aerith pointed out like it was the most obvious thing on the Planet. “None of this is what you think— Your company kidnapped me for a start!” That was a good place to begin. There were still a million questions up in the air but time was of the essence. “I’m sorry. We can’t have this conversation right now, you just. You have to walk and talk. We’re not the monsters here. Trust me.”

I know you like to keep up to date on the merch things, I just got an email from Dan's AU shop customer service saying all of the WAD tour merch will be removed from the Australian site tomorrow at 12pm GMT. I'm not sure if it applies to all the other sites or if it's specific to the Aussie shop, but yeah, just a head's up! I live in the UK and got the email anyway, so I don't know if it applies to all the other shops as well or not.

omg, that's sooo interesting. the AU shop has a lot in stock, but it doesn't really move. i wonder if they decided to just throw it back to the UK.

This is one of those that I don't care if no one likes it, or if there are obvious mistakes/things that don't make sense, I'm proud of myself for managing to do it traditionally and that's that. It's for no one but me, I'm just sharing it with you :)

I started it in 2021, even began to paint it, but burnout is a bitch and I couldn't finish it then. Recently I decided to see if I could complete it traditionally and this is the result! It was inspired by a screenshot I took where Bayek's face is entirely in shadow. I then added elements that relate to Ma'at, the goddess of truth and justice, and the ceremony of the Weighing of the Heart, where she'd weigh a dead person's heart against her ostrich feather, to see if they were worthy of going on to the Field of Reeds (a sort of paradise). (Egyptologists don't @ me 😭)
