honestly, there's probably an essay worth of words i could say on the immense lack of platonic stories, but in the end of it all, i really just wish there was more

more stories focused on platonic, non-romantic stories. more stories where romance doesn't feature, where it is not the conclusion to the journey. because as it is, there's such a genuine lack of romance-free stories, and it's sad

relationships doesn't have to be romantic to matter. to be important. to be worthy of stories, fantastical or otherwise, to be the center of the tale. and i wish that was reflected in media, i really do

infuriating to tune into the Danish news, and see a reporter in Israel, with an Israeli family, who very obviously Does Not Give A Shit about Palestinians. who say such obvious bullshit like 'we're already doing what the court is saying we should do' with the most smugass expression on their face

and then to see them in the background, on the phones, in their cozy little home... it speaks volumes, doesn't it?

i want this ruling to matter. i want it to have some weight, but i don't think Israel cares. and sure, it'll have consequences down the line, but... what does eventual consequences matter, if Palestinians are suffering now?

The Owl House wasn't on Disney+ where i live until after it was cancelled. Lego Monkie Kid didn't get put on HBO until it was in its fourth season, and it still doesn't have danish (or english) subtitles. i've been trying to find the LMK lego sets in stores since before the second season aired, and i have yet to find a single one. outside of a possible Hot Topic t-shirt (which! i have never seen a store of! btw) merch just frankly don't exist anymore. DVDs and blue-rays barely exist anymore either, and if they do it's because the fandom fucking begged for it

and that's not to mention the fact that anyone not in america will have an even harder time accessing any of it, especially if they'd like english subtitles, or just want the original language track

like i can't buy the Moominvalley DVDs in our stores, because there's no english subtitles, and my brain hates the dissonance
