The Rako Hardeen mission was a success, but it left Obi-Wan Kenobi sick at heart after the empathic stresses of the mission, and questioning whether the mission was worth it. The troopers of the 212th welcome him back, wanting nothing more than to assure him he did the right thing, and Obi-Wan works to make their trust in him worth it.

The Force, however, shows Obi-Wan a detailed vision of the future to come. He eliminates the threats posed by the Sith, but feels he cannot return to the Order or to his men, and sets out alone, letting the Force direct him to the grimmest parts of the galaxy and the people who were always overlooked and underserved. 

Marshal Commander Cody takes his general's warning and evacuates Kamino and all of the clones from Republic space. As the Jedi work to recover from the Sith plot and the Republic stalls out on how to move on, the clones settle a new world, try to heal, and look for their missing general. Along the way, apart and together, Cody and Obi-Wan make discoveries that will change their and the galaxy’s future, and learn how to move forward even when things are broken and like nothing they'd planned.

if i may ask, is it difficult at all to re-edit/organize the comic pages from the webtoon format to fit the graphic novel format?

on another note, I'm so happy that your kickstarter was funded!!! I love time and time again, im so excited to see this all happen <3

I'll just turn this ask into something of a guide for the process! Because yes, it is difficult, but there are also many ways I have been preparing from the beginning for this very situation to make things easier for me!

I've worked in both print and scroll in the past, and have done this transition once before for a short story, so I already had familiarity both with my goals for print, and struggles with the transition!

How I prepared from the beginning for this transition:

1: My panels are 2500 pixels wide, so they can span my page (which is 8.3x5.8 inches) at 350 DPI (which is print quality)

2: My layers are organized: Text, FX, Foreground, Characters, Background

3: I draw one very large (twice as big as any panel would be, minimum) background for my major locations, as well as drawing furniture assets in isolation. This not only saves me time when making my actual episodes, but it also offers me INCREDIBLE flexibility when making this transition to print.

These 3 things let me pull the character art to the page by itself, scale it up or down to fit my panel, and then fill in the background behind the character.

So, I read the scroll version, decide how many and which panels I want on the page for the pacing (I also keep page spreads and page turns in mind while I am doing this), and then I pull those panels over from the scroll version to the page.

Then, I make the panel borders/page layout that I want, fit the character art into it, paste in the backgrounds, do any art editing that I need, add FX, and then re-do the text!

Sometimes I do need to draw parts that are missing (shoulders or elbows getting cut off is an extremely common one) and sometimes I need to adjust facial expressions, cut panels, or rearrange panels to make things read more clearly. Since it's my comic already, I know how to do these things while maintaining the original intent, but if I were working with someone else's comic I would need to work closely with them to know what can and can't be cut.

Another common issue is that VERY tall panels will inevitably lose a lot of information when they’re turned to pages. Identify the purpose of the panel (pacing, showing a lot of detail, etc) and then replicate that with your page layout.

examples (in order) are: scene transition, being overwhelmed, suspense, and establishing shot. All of these were a single panel in the scroll version!

Another issue when converting pages is that panel order is a lot less straightforward than when starting from print format. Conversational back and forth that's fine in scroll often messes up the flow of reading in a page (characters facing out, not looking at eachother from panel to panel, etc) and so some creative solutions are necessary to keeping the reading order.

For the first page I had to delete and rearrange some panels, and in the second the dialogue bubbles guide us to read this page in a circle. (dialogue guides through a lot of my pages lol)

And the last really common issue that pops up is that height differences can be really difficult. Usually in print this is solved with clever angles, but I’ve already drawn everything. So, I’ll either resort to vertical shaped panels, panel pop-outs, or editing a character up or down to fit into the panel.

So, yes, it is difficult! But I have a lot of experience with both formats, and having prepared for this from the beginning I've been able to make the transition a LOT more smoothly than I otherwise could have.

Captains Done!

I've now finished the Pikmin Captain figures I was working on! There's two different bodies, and a helmet and non-helmeted head, so effectively there's two complete sets of figures. The heads can be swapped around too!

I had to go with a solid helmet just due to the complexity involved in attempting to do a clear thing at this scale. Its something that's plagued me for years. Can't really find an off the shelf solution, and casting something in resin just has too high a cost of failure. I like this fine though, it gets the idea across, and I can swap out the fully detailed head whenever I feel like it. Its kind of nostalgic in a way, since its similar to how I handled the helmet on my very first attempt, well over a decade ago.

This guy's probably still a bit larger than the new ones, but he's so much smaller than the monstrosity I made most recently.

That helmet dome is the same ones I used for the cockpit canopies in the ship, to show how massive everything got lol. Really it was a ton of work to get that dome working for the helmet, and in the end it just looks so wrong being round, the real one is so squished and oddly shaped. I was really happy to be able to capture that with these.

Here's the seated bodies. They're meant to be able to fit in the cockpits, but when I tried it was a bit snug and I cracked Louie's hair a bit...so I don't think I'll be trying that again soon. I printed out the comfy chair model I made for the gold version of the ship too, just for something for Shachou to sit on.

I also printed off a little Olimar sprout from the bad end of Pikmin 1(the end I actually got the first time I played...I was not good at the game*) I'm really happy with the dirt.

He doesn't have a leaf yet, I want to start working on the Pikmin themselves soon, and I have ideas for how to handle the leaves, and I want everything to be consistent, so I'm not rushing it for now.

I'm also starting to really get in to a treasure hunting mood, I've got the marbles, I found the perfect shuttlecock just lying around our garage, and I've ordered some correct shoe polish, hanafuda cards, and a bunch of blank bottle caps, so that's probably going to be a thing going forward.

I spent so long this evening looking at globes, I think I'm just going to make my own lol.

*I didn't know about Pikmin drowning so I walked straight in to the lake in the Forest of Hope with a full complement of Reds and Yellows and didn't know about whistling to save them, there were no survivors.

I took a art book publishing class last semester so I’m inclined to ask how you chose the paper weight / texture you did and if you have any advice when it comes to printing art?

The printer I used is called mixam, which i found because it was the same printer used for a few other collaborative zine projects i've been on. Their process for printing is really user-friendly and customizable so I liked them a lot!

As for how I chose paper weight and texture, i had a general idea of what I wanted and what was going to work best for what I was printing--I needed paper that was heavy enough that large blocks of black wouldn't show through from page to page, for example, while also not making the book too thick to be staple-bound, and for the cover I knew I wanted a matte finish because colorful digital art generally prints and displays better on matte paper than glossy. After that it was a matter of picking options that fit those constraints without getting too expensive to print, which wasn't hard since the interior printing was all black-and-white which brought down the cost significantly. I did order a prototype to make sure that my choices worked well physically, and thankfully I was happy with the quality I got and didn't need to order another prototype with different options, but that's what I planned to do if I needed to make any changes ahead of ordering the big batch.

As for general advice about printing art, I've always used the highest possible resolution files any given program can handle, and if I know I plan on printing something I work in CMYK. I've found that if a colored piece is heavy on blacks or very dark colors it doesn't print well, which is part of why I kept the cover of the zine so light. If i DO need to print something that's really dark, I usually bump the contrast considerably higher with the assumption that it will print darker than it looks on my screen. (I didn't originally plan on printing the interior comics in the zine, so some of the artwork had to be cropped or expanded to fit the print dimensions, but luckily they were black and white already so no color problems occurred in the printing process lol)

#prototypes were like decently expensive. my first one was around $30 altogether #bc ordering just one is more expensive per print than ordering a big batch #but given the insane amount of money i made in sales after the fact. that cost means almost nothing now. LMAO #asks

May I ask how you made the shaker charms? I've been wanting to do that a while but no clue how to.

aight so I'mma go into this with a lil assumption that there's some prior knowledge about making digital art but if you have any questions about anything, you can definitely ask!

so first step is finding a place that can make you the shaker charms. I use vograce - it's a lil more expensive than other places but I like the customer service and low minimum order amount. they have a specific tab just for shaker charms that breaks them down into what options you can pick, sizes, what the art files need to be like, etc that you can take a looksie just to see how they're made. I like to see in the comments at the bottom too to see what neat things people have made.

and this is what my art looks like (minus the background). I made the main shaker with plenty o' room to shake around the bits inside. and then the pieces to the right. the gate itself is around 1300px wide, 600dpi (which is tbh a lot, 300dpi is fine) — big enough so when it's shrunk to charm size it doesn't lose too much quality. save them out as transparent pngs separately (the main shaker + pieces). most places prefer CMYK color profiles but I'm a scrub that doesn't use that so I go with RGB and it works just fine. if you have the ability to preview color profiles, I go with CMYK: Japan Color 2001 Coated to help me adjust my colors for print.

then I made a draft of what I wanted it to look like when finished, specifically showing how the text should not flip the wrong way on the reverse side. I also put the bits inside but the manufacturer should be able to figure it out anyway lol. the dots atop the charms are where I want the hole to be for the chain. I send this to the manufacturer too just to make sure we're on the same page.

send the files to whoever is making the charm and that's about it. the hardest part really is making the art assets. there's no real rule to anything, I just eyeballed it all tbh.

the most important part imo is making sure everything's big enough (1000px, 300dpi or larger for the main shaker part imo) and making sure your colors are okay because what you see on screen can be pretty different in actual print. that requires a lil research like purple for example sometimes shows up like ass when printed.

as for sizing, that's very much up to you. sometimes making paper models to hold irl can help you decide how big you want things. I went thru 3? iterations of just this charm alone cuz I wasn't happy with the sizing or colors so I had to make a few adjustments. I often ask manufacturers for previews of my charms before they actually make them just to be sure they followed my draft.

this is the final version (ignore the scratches, that's just the film you gotta peel off). I also requested for sequins to be put in. the inside bits may come out a tad smaller than compared to my draft, just due to compensating for the outside border around the bits but more or less it's what I drew 👍

As I rambled on about my favorite characters I realized something. I've been curious for a while about Natsuhiko and Tsukasa and the kind of relationship they have, since they're on the same "team" so to speak. I believe that Natsuhiko is helping mainly because of Sakura, but if there is any other reason we don't know yet, but we do know that Tsukasa tends to use his help a lot (as I think, Tsukasa is the mind, Sakura is the voice and Natsuhiko the group's hands).

Today I realized that (apparently) neither of them even mention each other's names in the entire manga, so far so good, right? The twins don't usually mention many people's names, and from my memory Tsukasa only mentioned the names of people who know him (Nene-chan, Amane, Kou-kun, Mitsuba and I don't remember if he ever mentioned Shijima's name ), and Natsuhiko hasn't been seen talking to that many people either, but he seems to have a lot of knowledge about others.

But my point comes in now, we know that Tsukasa doesn't usually follow commands or orders from anyone, and not even from Sakura who is his assistant, however, whenever Natsuhiko stops Tsukasa from doing something he seems to obey. These are simpler things that are not Tsukasa's goals, but from the way he was described it seemed like he wouldn't listen to anyone regardless of whether it was an important situation or not. Natsuhiko seems to act like an older brother (to both Tsukasa and Mitsuba), lecturing him, stopping dangerous games, teaching him how to treat a girl, stopping him when he does something wrong, and Tsukasa seems to accept that.

It really feels like a younger brother obeying an older brother sometimes. And I find all of this funny because they never say each other's names, since Natsuhiko always refers to Tsukasa as "shrimp", and even though they work together, Tsukasa never spoke his name either (from what I looked for).

Natsuhiko is a character who is starting to gain more importance and is having his abilities revealed, so much so that Tsukasa tends to use Natsuhiko's immortality to his advantage (as already seen in chapter 22), we still don't know the outcome for him in history, or its origin, but he certainly has a very important role

Maybe I thought too much tonight (it happens lol), but I was very intrigued by the fact that even though they've known each other for a long time now, have had a good amount of interactions and the way they happen, they've never said what each other's name.

(If they have already said each other's names please let me know, because I couldn't find any of their lines)

I once saw Natsuhiko say that he takes care of the children, I don't remember the chapter, but it seems that this is one of his functions. Tsukasa can be rude to him sometimes, but nothing too serious, he doesn't treat Sakura and Natsuhiko the same way he treats Mitsuba.

Maybe that's why that theory came up that Sakura and Natsuhijo are the twins' parents, a problematic theory to say the least. There is a kind of respect between them, working towards something together.

We don't know what Natsuhiko's role is in the narrative, but given the great power and ability he has, I imagine it's something pretty big. I've seen theories talking about the possibility that Natsuhiko could be God himself, another theory that has big holes.

I didn't stop to think about them much because we have few clues, it's not possible to formulate anything very complete about it for now. Regarding names, he says Sakura's name, but doesn't say Natsuhiko's, in the same way that Hanako says Yashiro's name, but doesn't say Kou's.

State of Affairs: oh, it's not good. Bad, in fact!

Greetings, all! I apologize for not much communication, art or comics this month, but things were a bit out of my control! I'll cut right to the point: I had a big oopsie at the start of May, and the situation overall has not gotten much better since then.

Here's the scoop as plain as I can explain it: I dropped my external hard drive, and it no longer connected to my computer. My computer has a very tiny amount of memory (the OS capacity is less than 120GB), so I have used an external hard drive as the brain of my computer for years now. I have no back-ups either on another hard drive, older computer, or cloud service.

This external hard drive housed everything I have created and brought with me between computers since 2013. It stored all my art. All of it. My comic pages, my working files, my works-in-progress, my commission pieces, as well as gifts from friends and other artists. It had all the sessions of my at-home tabletop game 'Blueshift', which is a pretty big hit for me as I had only just finished the game. I didn't even have time to be happy the game was finished until I had to mourn a loss of it I had not anticipated.

I sent the hard drive to a data recovery company with good reviews. It had nearly 2TB of data on it, and I tried very hard not to get my hopes up that they'd be able to retrieve most of my data. Despite this, I still was disappointed by what they sent back.

To be blunt: they did not retrieve most of my data. In fact, I'd say in total they only recovered about 40%, if I am being generous. They were unable to recover any of my in-development projects (A Cure for Athanasia, Super Manifest: Steward Cycle, The Tenth, The Sword of Hours, etc), and unfortunately BACKLASH didn't make it out unscathed either. Old art files that I one day wanted to make Prints off have been lost, as well as small doodles and secret sketches which never made it online.

While reviewing the files that they managed to recover, I also noticed that whole chunks of BACKLASH's working page files have been lost or corrupted. This isn't a huge setback for the comic itself since all of BACKLASH is online to read. But it is hard and heartbreaking for me, because despite everything I did one day want to make a printed edition of BACKLASH. I wanted to hold my comic in my hands.

That dream is not impossible, but it is now much further away. I can recreate my old pages with what I currently have, but it will be a lot of extra work, and there is no getting around that.

Losing this much of my history, artistic journey, relationships and formative time as an artist has been really hard on me, emotionally and mentally. I'm very sad. It's hard to draw right now for myself. Commission work comes easily, since I am given a prompt to draw for someone else, but creative ideas are not flowing for me at the moment. My hands are frozen and dejected.

I am now waiting to get back the files that the data recovery people managed to retrieve for me (probably by tomorrow, they said), and I am looking into other places in order to get a second opinion of sorts. At this point there really is no harm in trying, and maybe a different operation might have better luck. Who knows? It may be grasping at straws, but at this point things can't get any worse than this.

When I get my data back I'll be able to finish up BACKLASH chapter 7. I want to finish it off - there are not very many pages left, and miraculously the few remaining pages are among the ones that were recovered! So that's good. I will be finishing up the chapter, and afterward BACKLASH will be taking a bit of a break. I don't know how long the hiatus will last, and I won't be making any kind of estimate. It'll take as long as I need until I feel I can put one foot in front of the other again. Maybe I'll work on something else for a while, maybe I won't draw anything. Who knows! I don't, haha.

Eventually I'll be okay, and I'll get back on the horse. Even in the midst of all this turmoil I really just want to be making comics ;_;

Until then, I just need some time. It's the only cure for this kind of problem, I think. So, I thank you for your patience, and I thank you for the love you've shown me, my work, and my characters. I couldn't be where I am and I couldn't have made all the work I have without your support and love. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I see a lot of folks noting the things Ted Lasso has in common with Sleepless in Seattle after Ted said it's the superior Nora Ephron film.

And, yup, I did a rewatch of the film (it's one of my favorites) and took notes too just like a lot of you lol.

There are the obvious things of course. The whole soulmatey-destiny-cosmic-forces vibe, signs (that the heroine is a skeptic of), a focus on planes and boats, an Oklahoma reference, Dr. Fieldstone (who begs people to just talk to each other and admit their feelings). There are Wizard of Oz nods too: Somewhere Over the Rainbow plays after the first radio show, when Annie hears Sam for the first time, Annie and Walter's dinner at the Rainbow Room, Sam mentioning growing a new heart, the reference to a friend named Glenda.

But being the tedbecca clown and yoga enthusiast I am (*proudly adjusts clown wig before stretching*), here are a few other things I noticed:

When Victoria is traveling, she offers to bring Noah a snow globe from the place she's visiting.

The quote: "What we think of as fate is just two neuroses knowing that they are a perfect match." "Y'all's baggage just matches right up, don't it?"

When Annie stops at the diner, she orders tea.

Jonah's Seattle Mariners hat matches the believe colors, and (I know but I stretched before this reach) at the end of the movie, when Sam and Annie hold hands for the first time, he's wearing a yellow jacket and her coat is blue.

And, my favorite (I honestly gasped), the host who seats Sam and Victoria when they first meet for dinner is named...Derick.

Now for my Affair notes:

Sleepless in Seattle paid homage to An Affair to Remember, so let's think about that movie in relation to Ted Lasso, too.

(Before I really dig in, we all know from both movies about the Empire State Building and February 14, but do you remember the teaser trailer for this season was dropped on Valentines' Day?)

Now, in Nora Ephron's Sleepless, the movie and especially the ending of Affair was touted as the most romantic thing ever.

To summarize it: The heroine (Terry) and hero (Nickie) meet while they're involved with others and take a quick "friends to lovers" journey. They realize their feelings and vow to resolve the issues keeping them apart (relationships, careers), and then meet in six months at the top of the Empire State Building. When that day comes, Terry's hit by a cab while rushing to meet Nickie...and Nickie waits in vain in the rain and thunder and lightning until he gives up, thinking she doesn't love him. She won't tell him about the accident because it left her unable to walk. Nickie visits Terry in her apartment and is just about to leave forever when he sees one of his paintings (that his agent gave to a woman in a wheelchair) and realizes what happened. Love and happiness ensues.

So:

-Ted and Rebecca aren't involved with others when they meet, but they are very hung up on their exes, and they have to work through their issues before they're ready to be in a relationship with someone.

-There's been debate for a while in the general Ted Lasso fandom about the show foreshadowing a car accident. Ted even almost steps in front of a car a few times.

-Rebecca's "thunder and lighting" haven't happened yet.

-Ted's not a painter like Nickie, but the Hockney drawing that Rupert gave Rebecca is important to her journey. And this show likes parallels, so I've been thinking about how a drawing/painting/piece of artwork involving Ted might play a part in an eventual tedbecca. I've wondered if he might get her a copy of one of Hockney's lightning prints because he knows she likes the artist.

I don't know.

I'm not thinking Ted and Rebecca will vow to meet at the top of the Empire State Building or anything like that. But I have long thought any revelation of feelings between Ted and Rebecca would be in the very ending of the show, just like in Sleepless in Seattle.

Now I'm fully into the idea that a car accident, thunder and lightning, and possibly a painting...all in homage to An Affair to Remember...will play a part in the realization of feelings and ensuing confession.

34 years in November, finally I publish now, I opened the comment space

I start writing my post on August 8, 2023, I will be back to work soon, I hope. These 18 months have been very difficult in terms of health, my last hospitalization between February and May clearly opened my eyes to my life.

This is the first time that I am excited to celebrate my 34th birthday with dignity on November 3rd. To finally close this chapter of my life (I'm not healed yet)

I realized a lot of things:

life is short

life is worth living

money is a flute of energy

many people come to open up to the world and they are ready to welcome you in their arms too.

social life is not easy

we can really create little moments of happiness (a bouquet of flowers per month)

I really like to surround myself with artisanal products

I can continue like this, I registered on a friendly dating application and I really liked my experiences, I hope to balance my professional and social life with my return to work. The week of August 8, I have a girl meeting then I proposed a meeting at the Musée d'Orsay which remains one of my favorite museums. My goal is to open myself fully to the world.

For some time now, I've been trying to make choice prints on a plus theme in keeping with my current life.

I work on my feminine energy, because I have a masculine energy, I have always worked with this part and I was raised in this energy, my mother took care of 4 children on her own. I realized that I was really too anchored in this energy and I want to find a balance between my feminine and masculine part.

I have regained a taste for paying attention to my look, putting on make-up…. doing certain things in conscience. I realize it's more than that.

I am also aware that we are in survival mode for 90% of the world's population because societal life is very difficult.

Just tired of fighting, I want to have fun and stop sacrificing everything.

about my love life, I try to be optimistic and stay open but I am aware that time also passes. I hope to find the person, however I am open to the idea of starting my own family because yes before I thought it was selfish to do that because the child deserves better especially since I lived without a father. But motherhood is still there even if some aspects scare me. I'm open to all options. I leave myself until the age of 36, I remain open to the proposals of life.

on my professional life, I leave myself until the end of May (if the company does not fire me before lol) to put my finances in order, I continue to work on my self-employed project which is progressing well, I am happy

The Afternoon Tea DGS zine by @afternoonteazine!! Oh I absolutely adore this zine it is such a perfect theme for The Great Ace Attorney :') The art and writing and merch are all just gorgeous and made me so hungry, I can't get over how cute everything is

This is such a perfect zine theme for this particular game duology. I absolutely love what everyone has made. The art and writing is all so cozy and sweet, it makes me want to have a tea party of my own. Sketchbook Review

The cover is printed well and very durable. The pages are thick and I was surprised at how big the sketchbook is! I have a few mini square sketchbooks and they don't have nearly as many pages as this sketchbook. It also includes a back pocket, a ribbon, and an elastic clasp. Another surprising bit is the pages are honestly some of the smoothest pages I've ever felt. It's not a bad thing at all but I have just never touched paper this nice before lol. That does mean the way some materials react to the paper will be different, but none of my test materials bled through the pages. (only faint outlines/shadows but not full bleed). I genuinely adore this sketchbook and am so happy to have snagged one during preorders

Sure, I guess it's time to share some things that I've tought until now for these two!

Something about Woodrow that I don't think I've shared yet:

Him and Sweetlopek are best friends since elementary school. Sweetlopek defended him from bullies and Woodrow helped him with literature homework. Everyone in town started calling them "the disaster duo" as kids due to Woodrow's jinx and Sweetlopek's fondness for sharp things.

His cloud Jinx is the one constantly above his house. A small portion of it can detach to follow him everywhere, even on other planets, altought it's not really know how it gets there as it isn't allowed anywhere inside, even a spaceship.

He's trans. He briefly went to live with Sweetlopek after his top surgery so he could get some help from his friend while he recovered (yes he got a cone of shame too, lmao). His little cloud Jinx refused to stay outside so the two Rabbids agreed to let it in to watch over its owner. Jinx probably tought Woodrow was injured like after the ship accident, but it seemed deligthed when its owner looked really happy instead.

He can't keep his hair combed, no matter how much hair conditioner, oil or hair straightener he will always have a cowlick.

Rabbids' skeletons are very weird and able to collapse (like a mouse's). Woodrow's one after the ship accident is more messed up. He can basically do a 180 Exorcist style, but with his torso and he can be stretched out without being hurt.

Little about Phantom, why not?

He sincerely tought he was straight. Then between Bea's backup dancer (yes, I headcanon him as male for this now, lol) and then Woodrow he realized he's bi.

He's afraid of chandeliers. What if one crashes on his head?? (I know in the og Phantom of the Opera the chandelier doesn't fall on the Phantom, but I think our Phantom needs an irrational fear, plus it's a funny reference to that scene)

He makes flower orders from Terra Flora under a false name. He could buy flowers from another place, but he adores Bea's compositions. Even if he'll never admit it.

And now Phandrow moments!

Phantom and Woodrow are the couple who lose all their braincells when they are together.

Woodrow is the guy who could set on fire even a salad when cooking, meanwhile Phantom is a pretty good cook. He's also a grandma when it comes to food, so he cooks a lot and if youre not hungry, well you are, lol. After they moved in together Woodrow gained a bit of weight.

Phantom loves playing with makeup. Woodrow was never a fan, but in one of their "no braincells found" moments, he agreed to have Phantom do his makeup. He gave him a moustache with eyeliner and Woodrow bursted laughing saying he looked like his father. He then proceeded to keep it for the day to confuse everyone in town.

In one of their anniversaries together they both had the idea to gift eachother a rubber ducky dressed up as themselves.

Woodrow likes to have his back cracked (it's not a surprise with that posture, lol). When he needs to he would hold onto something while Phantom pulls his legs until it goes "crack!". As said, Woodrow's bones are weird so he can stretch without harm. It's while Phantom stretched him a little bit too far accidentally exposing his butt, that he found out Woodrow wears pumpkin printed underwear, lol.

Phantom is able to fix Woodrow's permanent cowlick. It takes more hair conditioner than Phantom uses (and he uses a lot of it), so it's only done for special occasions.

Phantom writes songs based on the poems that Woodrow reads him. Depending on how many words from the poem he uses in the song, when sung it can have more or less of the poem's effects.

Sometimes they start writing random things before they go to sleep. They often continue writing even while in bed until one of them fall asleep.

Phantom is a night owl and Woodrow an early bird. Phantom makes sure Woodrow falls asleep peacefully while cuddling him and he's usually the one that puts in order the things they used while writing. In the morning Woodrow will snuggle up on still asleep Phantom, combing his hair with his hand while waiting for him to wake up. He only has to make sure no rhyme leave his mouth as he already startled awake Phantom once making a framed picture fall on his head (don't worry Phantom has a very hard head, lol).

Phantom purrs very frequently and very loudly. Before Phantom, Woodrow has never been heard purr by anyone, not even Sweetlopek. He does indeed purr, but only when he's writing when he's very inspired and he does it very softly.

your custom cassettes are really really cool! ive been thinking about making custom cassettes for a bit, would you be willing to share what kind of paper you used for the label stickers and j-cards? also where do you get blank cassettes from? ive been looking at cassettecomeback but i was wondering if there was a better option.

So full disclosure: I run a merch shop for my webcomic and I make most of my stuff myself in my studio. I've been doing this for the better part of ten years and over that time I've accumulated quite a bit of specialized, expensive equipment like the photo printer and cutting machine I use to make my cassette ephemera. THAT SAID mixtapes don't necessarily need all that!! Unless you're running a bootleg business on etsy or somethin I don't think you and your friends gotta run out and spend a ton of money to make these (beyond tracking down a deck and a player, obviously).

Unfortunately most of these items are found on Amazon because I'm a professional artist trying to Live, but if that's something you'd rather avoid buying through I'm listing the brick and mortar places I can find them when I need to for whatever reason!

My j-cards are just the 8x10 glossy photo paper from Pen & Gear, it's usually less than ten bucks a pack at walmart lmao. I use it with an inkjet photo printer! There are plenty of laser printer options out there though, which is probably the type non-artists have access to. Honestly I think the look of black ink on colored copy paper is super cool for handmade tapes, especially between friends.

My sticker paper was a bitch to find and I'm not sure if it would be useful without my specific equipment, but it's this glossy adhesive photo paper from some rando company called LDProducts. Literally just called "Sticker Photo Paper" pf. It's more expensive but I get it in stacks of a hundred because I print tons of stickers for my shop. Again, glossy adhesive paper might not be useful without a big boy printer but MATTE sticker paper is everywhere, that's also pretty common to find at walmart or at the very least at an office supply store; you can print on it or even get out some markers (not sure i'd suggest anything besides ink tho, I'd be worried it could come off and damage the player). I design the labels in clip studio and then load them into cricut so it's super easy to get the right shape every time, but if you're Determined you could get out a measuring tape and an xacto knife and get similar results.

I've only found my tapes on amazon unfortunately, and it's been a while since I bought any because I sort of inherited a bunch of sealed ones when my dad died and i'm still going through them lol. Almost all my custom ones are 90 minute Sony High Fidelity, last I checked you could order them in packs of five or ten but I'm not sure what the prices are like rn. If you REALLY want to get fancy with colored shells/custom lengths i did find this cool site you can order from, Duplication.ca, but the shipping is kinda rough. One of these days I wanna make some cassettes for my webcomic and I'll drop some money on some pretty ones then, but for now the Sonys are treating me fine so I haven't dug too deep.

I hope something in here is useful! I'm always happy to share what I know but again, I'm very fortunate to have access to quite a bit of stuff most people don't and I try to be up front about it alskdjf. Cassettes are best when they're sorta janky and handmade tho, it's kind of the whole point, and if they're just for you or someone you care about then marking them with a sharpie and masking tape is just as cool in my opinion. probably cooler. everybody should put music on physical media and trade it i think.
