i saw the words v3 and remnant together so i have to ask about my blorbo, what are your takes on remnant korekiyo?

So I think for a Remnant Kiyo, I’m just going to ignore all the murder/sister stuff lol. Like clearly he’s already fine with killing so it wouldn’t really bring him any personal despair.

Instead I’m going to lean wayyyy more heavily into the Anthropology thing, because you know what’s one of the first things you do if you’re trying to fill the world with despair and basically cause an apocalypse? You go after people's cultures. Important religious sites, historically significant artifacts, and certainly written history and knowledge would all be major targets to demoralize a people.

So Kiyo is absolutely stressed out of his fucking mind 24/7 running around trying to salvage and keep records of stuff by himself before his friends come and burn it all down. He’s kind of like an early warning system/harbinger of death because when he shows up at a place you know the other remnants aren’t too far behind.

He doesn’t have time to be chill and nonchalant anymore, because everything’s happening Really Fast and Now and he needs to be already finished five minutes ago or else he’s Too Late and it’s already Gone.

He’s trying his best, but it’s not good enough. And that’s where the despair comes in.

It’s an impossible task, there’s fifteen other remnants all running around causing destruction, Korekiyo by himself physically wouldn’t be able to beat them to every new place. So there’s always that feeling of being a failure hanging over his head.

What would happen next would likely be dependant on how soon after the tragedy the future foundation is actually able to intervene, like, if everything gets to a point of too destroyed for him to be able to salvage anything anymore, he’d likely either horde what he did find from the others like a dragon and become a recluse, or start trying to observe the others and how they’ve built a new culture of despair around themselves.

He’d also likely be in direct conflict with Angie fairly often. Why? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see since I got an ask about her so she’s up next!

wait speaking of getting isekia'd via truck, a couple weeks back me and a friend on were talking abt portal fantasy/isekai tropes (mostly bc i was infodumping abt rz again), and it made me think abt a fun concept for an ocverse. tho its possible similar things have been done obvs with just how inflated the genre is, just hear me out OK

story starts in the normal world, with a typical Nerdy Guy going about his daily life, expositing about how he feels bored and longs for adventure and magic, just like in all of his favorite media. as he's crossing the street, distracted by his mobile game, he doesn't notice The Truck(tm) coming straight towards him. except he's not hit by it- he's pushed out of the way in the last second, saved by a passing girl who gets hit in his place. this is who the story is about now.

mc gets sent to that sort of intermediary dimension that some isekai have, where she meets the Goddess Lady or whatever that was in charge of the whole isekai situation. goddess lady proceeds to freak out, because she nabbed the wrong person, and she's going to be in SO MUCH TROUBLE. she starts questioning the mc, only to find out that this kid has a good social life, does well in school, is in sports, and has barely ever played a video game. basically the opposite of the socially introverted, underachieving, repressed, genre-aware guy she was supposed to have reincarnated. for the sake of fulfilling somekinda hero prophesy or whatever. and the mc kinda bargains to be sent to the fantasy world anyway bc, well, its that or death i guess. so the two of them kinda have to team up to course-correct this mix-up.

mc is kinda given a list of tasks to do that basically mirror how a typical story like this Would Go, expected to fall in line with the tropes in order to achieve the ultimate goal, but kinda ends up failing at all of them... or not? failing backwards, maybe. doing it in a way different from how its meant to go- using the wrong formula, but somehow getting the right solution. while sort of continuing to question the insanity of the whole situation, and the nature of this whole fantasy world. just fucking up all the tropes.

but a layer i'd wanna add on top of all that is the fact that the hero prophesy (or whatever) called for a man. so upon arriving to this new world, the mc is basically put into a "gender swapped" body and... doesnt seem to mind. this isnt an uncommon isekai trope either, but i hardly see it tackled with much care to really explore whole Gender Thing beyond gags about the "mismatch" (which can be in poor taste) or the conclusion that "well because their Body is now this gender, their gender identity changes to match" which i feel is a pretty shallow and binary take-away to draw abt bodies and identity.

but i think there can be more to explore w the prospect if you actually wanna get into gender stuff. in this case, i'd particularly wanna get into the idea of imposter syndrome. the main character was not MEANT to be... the main character. seen as a phony fighting tooth and nail to meet expectations, and constantly fumbling. not a real hero, or a real man. but its meant to be an act anyway, so why does that bother her? it was like that back on earth too, trying as hard as possible to be the perfect girl. a good social life, does well in school, is in sports.... but that good girl thing always felt fake too. or desperate. what was she trying to prove? how long as this BEEN bothering her, actually? why does it feel easier to breathe in this body, despite everything? the way this whole act makes her happy is scary, because its fake isn't it? but wait, which part was fake? the before or after? is it all fake? isn't this all just a mistake?

was it really a mistake? who is more heroic; a guy too focused on a mobile game to pay attention to those around him, or the person who risked their life to save a stranger? but the hero prophesy was for a "man," right? what does that even mean?

#the end is all questions bc if i ever did anything w this i would want to explore them basically #i dont know if i ever WILL its mostly just a concept im throwing out there for rn. brainstorming #but i think it could be fun #the only other isekai/portal fantasy type ocverse i have is the one w the dream traveling ocs. i wanna get back to them also #so many small oc projects that ive posted abt very briefly but i have not forgotten abt any of them i still think abt it #same w this even if i never really elaborate more on it im sure the idea will stay in my head #its obviously very much in its first draft baby phase rn a lot of ironing out the creases to do if i did wanna follow up in some way #like again its basically just a concept i dont have concrete characters or worldbuilding or anything just ideas. thata all

Splatbands Idol AU Part 1 - Ichiya and Namida as The Squid Sisters

Thought I’d finalize my designs for this idea (it’s not really an “AU” despite the title bc the designs are kinda the main focus) where the main bands and idols for each game swap roles. So OTH are Wet Floor, Deep Cut are C-Side, and ofc, the Squid Sisters are Squid Squad. Ichiya and Namida specifically, since I like to think of them as a duo and their colors even fit Splatoon’s main colors of blue and orange!

feat. some kinda lazy art bc I don’t rlly wanna do lineart esp since I’m gonna have to draw the other two groups as well lol. Pretty happy with their designs tho, I think I fused them well.

Even tho this concept is mostly focused on the band characters, this does mean that the idols take their place as well (along with the other band members, so the main band of Splatoon 1 is now Callie, Marie, Ikkan and Murasaki). It gets kinda confusing if you think too hard about it (esp for OTH lol) so we’re just not gonna do that. It’s mostly so I can draw the band characters in cute outfits lol

Anyway Meet Squid Squad! Here to bring news, music, and splatfests to a plaza near you.

The Squid Sisters have a decent amount of story, and although I’m already said in going to worry too much about that, it is pretty easy to merge the squid sisters and squid squad’s stories together, so why not? Instead of growing apart in Splatoon 2 they full on break up, but then get back together and instead start to use pseudonyms (Agent 001 and 002). Guess that means Ikkan and Callie are chill but just distant.

Their personalities are the same tho. Ichiya is still an asshole in Splatoon 1 lol. Maybe not really on the news, but you can see it in Octo Valley for sure. And then I bet He’s nicer in Splatoon 3 but his first reaction to C-Side is definitely not “I love them”

As for Namida, she’s a lil less smug than Marie, but she’s still the more sarcastic of the two, both on camera and off. She’s a little relieved that Agent 4 never heard of Squid Squad and feels weird about being called “boss” all the time.

They both play their instruments on stage during splatfests along with singing, kinda like Marina in We’re So Back. All their songs minus Calamari Inkantation are Squid Squad songs with a more pop-like tinge. (Ikkan left bc he didn’t like all the pop Callie was writing lol).

oh yea and have to mention they probably are agents but they’re not related idk how they’d know captain cuttlefish. Or maybe captain cuttlefish is someone entirely different! Who knows!

Once again this is more of a fun concept than a fully fledged AU. None of these confusing or vague things are gonna get concrete explanations, I just like speculating abt this type of thing.

Micheal doesn’t realize how comfortable he’s gotten around Y/n until they start to get comfortable as well.

It had been a few months since Micheal had began holding y/n captive. Y/n had, of course, been terrified of him at first, they refused to eat, drink, or even speak to him for the first few weeks. Micheal had expected that kind of reaction from them, who wouldn’t be scared of The Shape? He had even gotten used to their silence, he even enjoyed it, especially after hearing the screams of his victims all day.

Sometimes he would just sit next to them and look at them from the corner of his eye. He had admired them for a long time, which is why he decided to take them. It took Y/n weeks to allow themselves to relax in his presences, but the change was noticed and appreciated by Micheal.

When Y/n finally spoke to Micheal for the first time, it left him shell shocked. He had just returned home after dealing with an especially troublesome victim. They had cracked one of his masks and left him pretty bloody. Y/n ended up walking him to the bathroom and cleaning his wounds. Micheal watched them with intent, even smiling to himself, when y/n finished cleaning the wound they stared at the ground for a few seconds, then looked him is the eyes.

“Please, be careful.” They said in a whisper. Micheal felt light-headed at the sound of their voice. It wasn’t like they said anything particularly poetic or beautiful, but for Micheal it was a miracle.

Since then y/n had been much more open to Micheal. They talked about how their day went while he was out, they showed him the movies that they liked, and even asked him to bring back certain things for them when he went out. Y/n was started to settle into their new life, the only problem was that it seemed like the more comfortable that Y/n got with Micheal, the less comfortable he got with them.

For Micheal, strong positive feelings about a person are relatively new, but having those feeling reciprocated is a completely foreign concept, leaving him confused about how to react.

This all came to a head one day when Micheal had left for about eight hours, y/n was used to him leaving for a few hours every now and again, but eight hours seemed a little excessive to them. However they new he was a strange person, so they went about their business. When Micheal did finally get home y/n was cooking dinner, he walked in to see what they were making and realized that they had two plates set out, and they were making enough for the both of them. Micheal couldn’t understand why he felt so happy about that, or why he thought that the looked so nice while they were focused on cooking. Y/n eventually took notice of him, considering he was just standing it the middle of the kitchen, staring at them.

“Micheal… what are you doing?” They asked, slightly concerned. Micheal panicked, not expecting them to ask. He had no idea what to do, so he let out a huff and stomped out of the kitchen and into his bedroom. Y/n was left extremely confused, they thought that they may have offended him somehow. They just turned back around to finish cooking, not knowing what else to do.

Later that night Micheal heard a knock on his bedroom door, when he opened it he expected to see y/n, but instead he saw a plate of food sitting on the floor.

I’m so so sorry about the wait, I’ve been super busy, but I hope you like it anyway. This was super fun to write, I LOVE writing for slashers.

Yeah, BnHA is very adamant about its Heroes! So! Cool! Worship Them Like Gods! thing. Just when you think it'll be deconstructing the concept of Hero Society, All Might comes back to be fueled by the wishing energy of the world to inject acid into his opponent. Quite a choice. I'm so just in it for the villains. Sorry it didn't work out for you! And sorry you had to come back to Shigaraki ending up like that. 😭😭😭so far. He really should've been allowed to destroy Mt. Fuji.

As for the contrast between the Japanese fandom and the English-speaking fandom... I caution my observations being the whole and objective truth!

I'm much more familiar with Villain Fans Section of the English-speaking fandom; and while we're very loud and vocal, it does seem like the majority opinion is that Heroes are cool, Villains are bad, ending is acceptable. Meanwhile, I'm looking only at japanese tweets through keywords, and they're bound to be more positive because it seems like people avoid tagging their hate; anonymous message boards are freer with their criticism, but there's still never essay-length rants. I'm sure there has bound to be those existing somewhere, but with my mainly surface access into jfandom, I wouldn't know where to look for them.

Plus, there are a few people in jfandom who have the same gripes: why is Endeavor allowed to continue to be a Hero; the heteromorph resolution is majority-oriented and unfair to the minorities; the social issues aspect should've been addressed more; Deku shouldn't have invaded Shigaraki's mind like that, and it's a bit concerning that he seems to have no reaction to the total annihilation of a man in front of him, etc. Not a lot, and, as I said, not as vocal as in English-speaking fandom, but they're there.

However, from my observations, in my opinion I think there are a few key differences:

Shonen Jump is about the protag Heroes. What it is and should be. I think bnha is pointed out to be pretty uniquely sympathetic to its villains?

jfandom are much less lenient towards the Villains. They can love the League, they can criticize Heroes, but they readily acknowledge that the League have done terrible things and should be punished accordingly. Doesn't matter their sad backstories; they still hurt people and they need to pay for that. They're unforgivable. Like, the idea that Tenko killing his family - even if completely by accident, even if manipulated - is a sin no matter what and he should atone for it, is more prominent. (There are also people who will forever know Bakugou as the 'jump off the roof' bully and never forgive him no matter how much development he goes through.)

The concept of 'saving' seems to be more focused on saving the heart, freeing someone from suffering, giving them relief. It does not necessarily mean not killing them, or ever forgiving them, or ever considering them likeable.

the concept of 'the needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few' seems to also be somewhat more significant. of course the few should be accepted and treated right, and they should be accommodated, but it's best to... avoid causing trouble for other (normal) people, let's say. Sometimes, though, the few can't be made to feel accepted, and that's how things are. It's a pity. There are definitely people fighting against this idea, and English-speaking fandom isn't exempt from this either (soooo many 'wow Toga is just a psychopath' takes still existing; and also 'who cares about Muscular' even from the Villain fans), but it's a thing.

Jfandom appears to like it more that Shigaraki sticks to his guns. to the very end, he's stays true to the League; he stands by his choices and actions even if they were under undue influence; and he's a Hero to the Villains. Loyalty and a strong conviction are valued. Seems to be less fretting whether Tenko and Tomura are separate people/identities/persona. (Still a few who think 'Shimura Tenko' will come back.)

and so end result is that overall, Deku did do his job, and admirably at that. He didn't ignore The Crying Child when he could've/should've because Shigaraki was already unforgivable for his actions at Jaku (and before); he saved Shigaraki/Tenko's heart by providing relief, but that doesn't necessarily mean he needed to understand or befriend Shigaraki, or that Shigaraki should be converted (for lack of better word) and saved physically; he's a Hero who stopped a threat and saved the world; and Shigaraki disintegrating is simply just desserts.

But like I said above, it could be that those points aren't specific at all to jfandom. There are certainly a lot of people who think the ending is great and satisfying in the english-speaking fandom (and from what i've seen of machine-translated spanish/french/portuguese/etc tweets, also those fandoms). It's just the critiques are very in your face, and Villain fans are very vocal. I know I certainly am.

Hi there! I’ve been following for a fair while (I was interested in the premise) and have been meaning to play the game for a while as well, but only started the last day of 2023! One heck of a way to start a year though!

I was wondering, how would the ROs feel about/interact with an MC who is touch averse? If MC can’t stand for people to touch them without getting a little sick feeling? How would that affect their relationship? Would that be a thing that would determine if they would or would not enter a romantic relationship with MC?

And maybe as a lil tiny bonus if you’re feeling up to it, how would the ROs feel if MC one day tried linking pinkies with them? If MC told them that their specific touch isn’t that bad and they wanna try slowly building up physical affection?

Sorry, this is kind of a long ask >.< I myself am iffy on touch at best and I know it’s commonly seen as a “necessity” in relationships of all kinds. Herotome is a VN that kinda breaks down modern relationships and I was curious so I wanted to ask, but alao totally understand if you don’t want or are unsure of how to answer this. Have a lovely whatever time it is in your time zone and I can’t wait to see how Herotome progresses!

Warden: Fuck yeah he's down-- gosh what's gotten into me I'm cursing so much today but I'll make an effort not to censor myself <_< But yeah... honestly a touch averse MC would be right up his alley - assuming he is reassured that he has not done anything wrong/offensive with any accidental touches. To some extent, he enjoys the concept of self-restraint(...) and begins both his professional and romantic relationships rather carefully - so not having to worry about whether he's not touching someone too much or too little - and instead focusing on not touching them at all - should be quite refreshing for him tbh? He may want to touch sometimes, particularly after spending a LOT of time together... but being respectful and ensuring his beloved is comfortable is way more important to him.

Griffin: ..... well, Griffin would do her best LOL. They would have to set expectations and really communicate upfront (which you would always be doing with Griffin regardless of touch aversion, lets be real) - what is not on the table, what could be on the table in the future, what MC wants out of a relationship - and if MC is prepared to discuss these topics and - most importantly, if MC is 100% ready for a relationship - in all likelihood a touch averse MC will be able to make things work with Griffin. Just gotta be clear and communicate.

Mia: ngl she can get pretty needy, it might be rough with her...! She'll want to hug when she cries and she can get pretty insecure about herself, so I wouldddn't super recommend a touch averse MC getting into a romantic relationship with Mia... Communication can be rocky with her even when both sides try their best. But gosh she'd treat touch averse MC sooo well in the time they spend together, if MC would allow Mia to cook and pamper!!!

Dart: Eh.... Why not? He's willing to give it a shot, and if it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out. ....... I'm sorry this is all he's giving me ;;;;;

Jade: lmao she's touch averse on and off herself so she'd understand MC best out of everybody with very minimal communication no questions necessary. They'll be perfectly happy reading on opposite sides of the couch or something...

As for linking pinkies and slowly building up physical affection-

Ok i think i’m actually going insane not talking abt this so fuck it

Dragonwalker Hiccup AU

My fic of it, set during HTTYD1; basically just a prologue

Ramblings underneath (like, a lot. i’m warning you.)

So basically, Dragonwalkers are humans who, when they fall asleep, turn into dragons. Just go watch Wolfwalkers actually it’s a very good movie and the concept is very hard to put into words, i’ve found.

Anyway; thoughts. Many MANY of them. :)

Valka’s had her dragon form (a night fury) her whole life, and lived on an island w her family AND a family of Night Furies. (Night Furies live in family packs, w the parents leading/raising/teaching their children (they only have 1 egg at a time, and only lay up to 3 in their whole life) until they’re old enough to get their own mate and start their own pack. (When a Night Fury pair’s children all have left and started their own families, they will sometimes join their children’s packs since they can’t hunt and fight on their own that well as they get older.))

And bc thw sucks and Grimmel, a man who is still alive, somehow killing off an entire species of dragons is stupid, i’m using my sibling’s idea, which is that Grimmel’s family has been hunting Night Furies for generations. It’s a family tradition basically, tracking and killing them until none are left. (And every person in his family has been killed by Night Furies, further motivating them.)

So Valka’s family (dragon&dragonwalker) were all killed, and only she escaped, ending up on Berk. Fell in love w Stoick, tried to make the vikings stop killing the dragons, was taken by Cloudjumper, the usual. She reunites with Hiccup early, during RTTE, just bc i want them to kick dragon hunter ass together. The war w Drago happens later.

Also i’m completely discarding the whole “king of all dragons” thing, it doesn’t fit w how i want this world to feel. Also toothless sucked as Alpha, i dont want that. And what i’ve always liked abt the HTTYD dragons is that they’re animals. The whole “king of all dragons” kinda,,, ruins that. So that’s also gone now.

I’ve been having a lot of thoughts abt how dragon flocks/packs/pods work, and these are my current ideas;

A “Flock” is a group of dragons of different species, under the control/protection of an Alpha (the Red Death’s flock, (Valka’s) Bewilderbeast’s flock, that one flock of dragons in RTTE s2e8-9 “Edge of Disaster”)

A “Pack” is a group of dragons of the same species, under the control/protection of a leader/queen/etc. etc. (speed stingers, fire worms, terrible terrors, (night furies in this AU))

A “Pod” is the same as a Pack, except for Tidal-class dragons specifically (a pod of seashockers, scauldrons, etc.)

The whole franchise is very inconsistent abt this so i’m working w what i have ok

The “Great Beyond” was separated from Berk/Berserkers/etc. by a heavy wall of fog all around them. There were some spots you could cross, used by traders and such, but the rest of the world has stayed pretty separated from this one corner of the world that experiences Dragon Raids.

However, after the Red Death’s demise, the fog has been slowly dissipating, allowing more to cross over; this way, the riders taking hours and hours of exhausting flight to reach “the great beyond” AND Gobber somehow making his way to Dragon’s Edge on a small, rickety boat both make sense; the more time passes, the easier it is to cross.

A lot of the conflict in the series comes from the human characters not understanding why the dragons are doing something, so giving Hiccup the ability to communicate with them takes away a lot of it, which i’m not happy abt bc it means i need to come up w my own stuff >:( (communicating w the dragons is actually kinda difficult in human form, since his hearing isn’t good enough to hear a fair amount of their vocalizations, and his throat isn’t made for producing those sounds.)

Anyway, my thoughts have been specifically focused on one episode of RTTE, my favourite one since i first saw it, up there w Dire Straits and Enemy of my Enemy; s3e8 “Stryke Out”.

In this AU, hiccup is taken by dragon hunters in his dragon form, taken to a dragon fighting ring. He’s worth a lot to them, being a Night Fury (this is what the art at the top of the post is depicting). He’s caged up for a few weeks until the news of a Night Fury in the ring spread enough, and he has to start fighting. The Riders figure out where he is due to these rumours, and interrupt his fight with the Triple Stryke 3 days into him being forced to fight the other dragons, the same day Ryker came to collect his cut of the money again.

i don't know shit about the mormon religion but tbh ur posts about it have me thinking about looking into it since ive been on and off looking for a religion that fits me. do you have recommendations on where to start?

alright! so! quick (2 paragraph lol sorry) crash course! the mormon church is more formally known as The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. this is noted bcs i think its important to know that the church Is a branch of christianity!

the main difference between the church and other branches of christianity is that we believe that we have the restored gospel! to elaborate, we believe that during the years christ was gone, his church and doctrine began falling apart - misinterpretation, mistranslation, etc, all playing a role. the power of both the aaronic priesthood and the melchezidic priesthood was lost. sure, we also have the book of mormon (+ the doctrine&covenants and the pearl of great price), but the reason we have those in the first place is because the priesthood was restored to us.

the subtitle of the book of mormon is "another testemant of jesus christ". basically, you know all those times that jerusalem got destroyed in the old testemant? well, one of those times, this guy lehi takes his family and his pals and goes to the american continent! and then the book of mormon chronicles what happened to him and his many descendants, ending when they all... destroyed each other in war. the doctrine&covenants and the pearl of great price are both stuff from the prophets and apostles in the early days of the church! also, joseph smith (the "founder" of the church) did a retranslation of some parts of the bible. pretty neat!

now that thats out of the way, ur question - where to learn more! if there's a mormon church anywhere in your area (which is pretty likely, esp if u live in the usa) then you can reach out to that church and/or any missionaries on the area! u can attend church at a mormon church without being a member, and plenty of ppl do! ppl r very welcoming there! the missionaries can always teach u more! also, if u download the lds gospel library app (or use the library), u have access to all the lds materials! this is the bible, book of mormon, etc, but other stuff too. for example, theres the 3-volume book "saints" which is all about church history! its very detailed but not hard to listen to or read at all, and it focuses on individuals to help paint the story of how the church formed and was built (i love saints if u cant tell)

i love being mormon and wouldnt trade it for anything. however i feel like warning u that at the moment, the church has a bit of a toxic culture regarding queer stuff, and it can be rlly hard to deal with esp as a queer person who genuinely believes in all the true concepts that the church upholds. but! its absolutely not impossible! #queerstake right here on tumblr is a shining example <3

Loll tbh I kinda judged the omegaverse at first until I watched coleydoesthings video on it. She gives a very good explanation and it even got me interested soo here we are! I was a tiny bit hesitant on sharing the smut here bc "cringe" but idrc!! (This is tumblr lol we're all weirdos)

Also, since I don't actually play the game a lot (I've even removed some gameplay mods) I've been thinking about making short stories until maybe one day when I actually want to work on a full series - once i get the lore and all that jazz locked down that is. For now they'd just be little scenarios and things that happen in their lives ᵔદᵔ I don't rlly like the gameplay so might as well use the sims as a creative medium lol

I get most of my inspo off of pinterest and sometimes other people's sims! I have a simspo board which has faces, character concepts, and even style inspiration. I also have moodboards dedicated to them, which helps me put together their overall vibe. Music is kind of a factor too, although I associate a sim with a song I already know instead of making sims based off of it. Some sims I've based off of people I know irl

I also want to work on a mini music project as well as a voice canon one :> ohh and an incorrect quotes one too! Just a silly way to understand their characters a bit better :3

I take inspo for world building as well! I'm really focusing on vampires rn. I took some inspiration from dracula, the vampyre, interview with a vampire, and various yt videos on vampire lore/history. This video explains the biology of vampires (he even scientifically explains how crosses are harmful to them!!), and this one explains their history.

For example: before the pretty, well put-together person that we envision when we think of vampires, vampires before that were depicted as more animalistic than anything. So why not have the best of both worlds!! When in human form, my vampires have very little vampiric qualities (ex. Keith's eyes have a red glint to them, the vatores ears are slightly pointed, and all of them have larger canines than the average human), they're able to show up on camera and have reflections, and crosses are only harmful to them if they're blessed. When they turn into their dark form (or "true form" as hunters call it), however, they do not have a reflection, they cannot be caught on camera, and like the old vampires, they appear monstrous.

Roman is my own name but just with a Letter Flipped... pff More interestingly to me, his middle name is Judas because that was close to Judith to me phonetically but (imo) kicked significantly more ass kfjhgfd

Averone was a mouthfeel name if my memory serves correctly but also I literally just looked it up and it's???? also a Book in the Myst series????? which IS what I based Averone's initial character concept off of in 2017 so.... Hello. Did I forget that???? Unsure but here we are

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

Roman was! a genderbend of Me for a fantasy setting WAY back in 2014 when that was pretty dang popular (both as a thing and a term) and I was in middle school. He's changed pretty significantly since then in a lot of ways but that was the extremely basic inspo.... and ofc a wizard bc I Love Wizard

Averone was an FR dragon! I'd wanted to make a character 'out of time'/space that utilized mechanics from Myst (namely, the ability to travel through books/have worlds that were written into existence). He initially had a Myst-like Book with him, and while he still has a hand-written Book at his side in his current iteration it's a lot less powerful this time around lol

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

For Roman, I love seeing how he's changed over time... he's fat now (he escaped eternal twinkhood, bless) and happily married (he was gay before I was) and way more complex than he was in past iterations (now with nuanced struggles and emotions instead of being Super Good Always save an Edgy Moment ala middle school characters, as you do). He means the most to me of any character I have because he's changed through my life for a Long Time now (as seen below!)

Averone's storyline is probably one of my favorites that I've written because it's SO focused on identity and random chance and ofc love. He's far from perfect or even a Good Person in a lot of ways that become revealed as his 'plot' progresses, and he makes a good number of selfish decisions while feeling awful for them in search of an unattainable and terrifying past and future. In the end it's a story about surrendering who you were and deciding to purposefully become something you're proud of (and also about unimaginable horror and how life continues beyond it).

🎓 - How long have you had the OC?

The first physical Proof of Roman I have existing is a sketch my wife made of him from January 7th 2014.... happy 10 years!!!! He's slightly older than that in concept but that's a good date for him I think

Averone's dragon on FR is from May 31 2017, so I think his character concept was probably an early May 2017 event! He only really become an Actual Guy in late 2018-early 2019 so he's about 5 years old lol

hi beautiful! it’s ☹️ anon. im gonna follow the routine you gave me. i made a list of about 17 affirmations that i can pick and choose from and word them however, but ill loop the same 3 if i ever feel to lazy to rampage. i do need some of your advice because i will be leaving tumblr even tho i miss waking up and sleeping to your posts.

1. what if i spiral and freak out about if im doing something right? like for ex. i am worried about my wording because my desire hasn’t come yet or the opposite happened and i feel the urge to check one of your posts or overconsume. what do i do? i heard most people say “answer it yourself” but what if i convince myself of the wrong answer?

2. what do i do when i spiral? because i know i will, so what do i do?

3. i obviously struggle with comparison, so how do i deal with that? i filtered my social media to avoid seeing people with my dream life BUT when sad tik toks or pretty girls on tik tok pop up on my fyp. i can’t help but want to be sorry for myself, how do i deal with that? even outside of tik tok like real life if i see someone else with their bf while mine is thousands of miles away, how do i deal with that?

4. how do i take care but not neglect my 3D at the same time? for example, if im studying for a test because i think ill fail instead of trusting my ability to manifest regardless of the test. isn’t that contradicting my manifestation? because i used to fail tests or like assignments because i thought “id manifest it away anyways” and now im kind of experiencing the consequences of my actions.

5. how do i stop complaining about my circumstances and life and feeling sorry for myself? whenever my friend is like “ugh i wish i was pretty”, i CANT help but feel the urge to tell her i relate (after comforting her obviously) or if my family calls since im miles away and they ask how im doing and i start complaining.

6. how do i repeat the new story without lying? for example, if my friends ask me if my bf is far away. i can’t lie and say no he isn’t because they know him and they know he’s far away. or they are talking about how they feel sorry about him being away. what do i say? if i agree with them, isn’t that reaffirming the old story? do i just repeat over and over again in my head that he’s actually here with me?

7. how do i deal with depressive episodes while manifesting?

8. does the state from which you’re affirming from matter? like if im repeating affirmations, shouldn’t it just matter that im affirming rather than the state that im affirming in? because a lot of people say that if you affirm from lack, it won’t manifest.

when you spiral, try your hardest to calm yourself down and go on a self-concept rampage. for example: no, i'm not doing this, i am literally god and i know that im only doubting because my affirmations are working and my ego is scared. but im doing this for my own good and i won't stop no matter what! i am god, my life is perfect no matter what i see in my 3D, i will not be fooled by my 3D. i am more powerful than any negative thought i have and i don't have to fall victim to them anymore. i refuse to!

i get where you're coming from with tiktok. i used to have to take breaks from tiktok bc id see couples/pretty girls and feel bad for myself. but everyone is you pushed out. if you see someone you think is pretty, or someone in a happy relationship, it's because you've been focusing on being pretty/being in a happy relationship. think of it as birds before land/a sign that your desires are manifesting. also a little tool is, for example, if you see someone in a happy relationship just affirm something like "aww they remind me of my sp and i! we act just like that!" or if you see someone you think is pretty/has a feature you want: "omg, my [facial feature] looks just like theirs!" "my body looks just like theirs, but im skinnier!" "wow they're almost as pretty as me!" etc

something i do when i have to deal with my 3d is affirm in my head that i dont know why im bothering to do that thing when i know i have my manifestation. using the example you did, when i'd be studying i'd be like "ugh i dont even know why im bothering to study when i already know everything about this topic and know im gonna ace this test no matter what. im wasting my time studying when i know im literally guaranteed to pass"

i know it's hard not to complain, but you are not a victim to your own thoughts. you have to force yourself, even if it's hard. "i can't help myself" yes u can!!! u are god!!!! force yourself to stop. give a simple answer and then change the topic.

similar to the last answer. don't lie bc that will stress yourself out. give a simple answer and then change the subject. then affirm the opposite in your head. once is enough if you only said one thing to your friend!! don't start complaining. you have the power to stop yourself. no one can force you to talk about something you don't want to talk about.

the way i deal with depressive episodes is listening o affirmation tapes and focusing on my self concept. i also force myself to keep my mind busy. i read, or play a video game, or watch a show/move (not one that's depressing or heavy). and remember that you can still manifest even when you're depressed!!

you don't have to be in any specific state to manifest!! your dominant thoughts manifest. as long as you're affirming for your desire more than you're affirming the opposite/the old story, you will be fine!!

that just reminded me of another thing u can add to ur routine!! write a script that is everything you want your dream life to be like and read it at least once a day to remind yourself of your new story. this would be a great thing to do before you get out of bed in the morning!! u can write it in your notes app!

since you say u like to read my posts to motivate yourself, throughout your day if you feel yourself struggling ask yourself "what would rem do?" "would rem be proud of me if she knew what i was doing/thinking about rn?" "what would rem say about this?" etc. hopefully that'll be a good source of motivation/comfort for you!!

if you are doubting, spiraling, thinking of giving up, tell yourself that's your ego. i always do this, i tell myself it's because im so close to my manifestation and the universe/my ego is trying to trip me up. take it as a sign/birds before land. keep going keep going keep going!!

What about their albums do you have any top favs (and I mean more in terms of the physical album design/content/photos/cd instead of the musical aspect of it since I think you may have already ranked that in an older ask)?

To share, not sure what my ranking is but my fav (bias is what im realizing it’s called in kpop) is Baro so my fav MV is Tried to Walk bc he gets so much screen time in it. Plus I love love all of his looks here!! And of course the khaki trench coat (and green trench coat + even the all white feathery one, tho those are from a music performance not mv) with the pink/unicorn hair I love them all have I said that yet lol. Maybe he overacted with the crying a bit in the skeleton zone, but that lone tear that falls as he’s walking through the city—my bb!! 🥺😅

For the physical album, I’m personally torn between Solo Day and Who Am I. I really like the “hardcover” of Solo Day and the way the CD is at the back (similar to how the cd is at the back with the hardcover for let’s fly). I’m also really into the mint/coral combo and the graphic design/layout/copy style/typography/typesetting (idk the term) of the inside. Love their photos from that shoot a lot! But let’s not talk about the English translation inside, ha! Who Am I, I love just bc there’s so much info packed in there I thought, and also so many photos, I just wish the cd was better encased even though I love the magazine style of it (and of course the concept of being able to complete an image via the spine).

Solo Day (great storyline, great special effects, and a feel good ending that just fits the vibes of the song so well. Plus the hype building up to that MV at that time was REAL)

What’s Happening (love the quirkiness, the sets, and the style in which it is filmed. Again, fits the campy vibe the song has super well.)

Like A Movie (possibly the prettiest MV in my opinion? It just really goes head first into the fantasy, mystical vibes while still keeping a bit of the old-school bipo quirkiness of their earlier MVs, like with the zombie and alien spacecraft scenes)

Sweet Girl (beautiful sets. Just... a super pretty MV.)

Beautiful Target (perfect, old school bipo. Plus the fact we got 2 mvs? Amazing. It’s just so funny, so cute, so colorful... it always makes me happy to go back and watch it.)

Tried to Walk (another beautiful MV, and I agree it’s nice to get a more Baro-centric one. I actually think of all the members, he was the only one that could pull off that over the top, drama like acting lol.)

Hmmm... the albums are kinda hard for me to pick just one honestly. I really like how much thought went into the Who Am I albums, how each member got one and how there were a lot of difference in the inside content depending on which one you got. I love the styling of What’s Happening era, so I really love the photo’s in that album. And I think Into The Wind had the prettiest overall styling and concept photos of the members...but also Solo Day too!! Just because of the cohesiveness of the album to the MV...so can I say those four? 😁 lol

Um, okay! Heads-up, though, I have played neither PLA nor Black and White, I just wandered into the awesome that is the current submas fandom and decided not to leave. So anything I get wrong... that's why.

This said, I think you're right, Ingo and Emmet would definitely let Melli sleep on the sofa or something for awhile - even if Emmet's verrrrrry Not Happy with Melli's attitude (especially towards his brother), Ingo knows what it's like to have something like this happen to you. And Melli goes with it, at first simply because he and Ingo aren't exactly close, but Ingo is pretty much the only familiar thing to him in this world. And I think once Melli's 'The Great Melli' attitude finally cracks, Emmet's going to warm up to him a lot more, too, because putting on a brave/confident face is something he also does.

That said, I think that, at least at first, Melli's going to be leaning into his 'the Great Melli' thing pretty hard, just to hide how scared and wrong-footed he is, so at first he'll be pretty obnoxious. And that that firmly ends the first time he sees the Battle Subway - not because of a battle, but because of the trains. Pokemon battles he understands - he's a warden, for his era he's probably an expert-level trainer who's pretty dang good with pokemon, and getting beaten in battle only seems to make him lean harder into his persona and get more defensive.

Trains, though? That's something utterly alien for him, that he has absolutely no context for. Given that Hisui is sort of in the Meiji era, he's probably never even seen a car in person, and if he has then they're much slower than modern day cars. Imagine going from that to the modern Japanese railway, which is fast, sleek, efficient, and hyper-modern, and moves in a way that you can't see or understand what's propelling it without understanding about electricity in a way Melli just doesn't. So I think that the first train that pulls into the station, that he sees moving? Instant freeze response, then, when his brain's decided that this thing isn't leaving and isn't something he can win against, he bolts. And that leads to the scene where he breaks down, probably manages to squirrel himself away in one of the quieter corners and the twins have to track him down, and finally admits, when they do find him, that he's scared and he doesn't know what he's doing. This is the point where he really starts growing as a person.

Other things that would happen - I think that fridges and ovens and such wouldn't actually startle him that much, because the concept of the cool storage/ice box and ovens have been around for ages, and these are just modernizations of those concepts. Air conditioning would probably be much more impressive to him, because it's so much harder to control the temperature of a larger space. I think, as Lord Electrode's warden, he'd adore learning about how we use electricity in the modern era, too, because he thinks his lord is amazing and wow, look at all the stuff his lord's electricity can do as well as battle! Amazing! Similarly, while he himself focuses on poison types, I think he'd be interested in seeing Elesa's gym and talking to her as well, since she specializes in electric types.

(Also, Melli gets to have his pokemon accompany him to the present, because I'm nice. In fact, I'm even gonna let him catch and keep a toxel, because he'd probably think an electric/poison type was really cool.)

Something that would absolutely blow his mind is modern grocery stores. I say this as someone who grew up in modern America in the 90s, then lived in a very out-of-the-way town in Siberia for about a year in '97/98 with my family, then moved back to America again. While in Russia at the time, we did all our shopping at several large, primarily outdoor markets. Our first night back, we stopped by a nearby Super Walmart on the way back from the airport to buy some food, because Hunger. It was over twenty years ago and I still remember it, the shelves felt like they reached the sky, and there was so. Much. Food. The culture shock was very real, and it wasn't even technically a new experience for me!

So, basically? Melli will likely have never seen this much food just casually sitting in one place in his entire life, and it's going to be overwhelming, in a 'where do I even start???' intimidating kind of way. There will also be foods that he liked in the past that he doesn't like in the modern era, either because the recipe has changed, a new strain of that fruit/vegetable became the dominant one, or he can taste the chemicals used to process the food and doesn't like them. (I went through that once, too, as a result of having to have a very restricted, simple diet for awhile. So many foods I liked that taste bad now because my tolerance for the chemicals went away! TT^TT) On the plus side, there will also be dishes he's never tried that he finds out he really likes, some of which he'll even be able to still make when he gets home!

Also, I think Elesa introduces Melli to conditioner and it is a Revelation, because he looks like a guy who likes to take good care of his hair. I think he'd also get some confidence back thanks to the fact that he understands strong and agile styles, how to train a pokemon to use them, and how to effectively use them in battle. Ingo knows this, too, but having two people with this knowledge would make it easier to demonstrate and explain it, and I bet a lot of trainers would be interested in learning these techniques, and Melli would have fun showing off and getting stronger. It'd be fun to see his comment of "You may have won but I didn't lose, there's a difference" recontextualized into him saying it to someone he's taught those styles to, and who just beat him for the first time with them. Because if your student learns what you taught them so well that they can beat you with them, is that really a loss? That would be a really fun bit of character growth!

And, of course, we have to have him finding out, oh, by the way? Ingo is a powerful trainer. Like, a stupid powerful trainer. Powerful enough that he and his brother can say "No legendary pokemon on our trains" and enforce that rule. Oh, and Ingo's also one of the two heads of Battle Station, which, as I mentioned in the original post, would probably look similar to being a clan head to Melli. And people come from all over the world for a chance to do battle with these two. And they have a fan club. And Ingo can actually drive and control those terrifying train things.

...it strikes Melli that it's probably a good thing that Ingo didn't have his full memories in the past and isn't holding a grudge, because otherwise Melli might have been in very serious trouble.

Last thing for now, I think Melli would be really excited to learn about the efforts that people are going through in regards to pokemon conservation and protection. Because he might be being a brat about it, but he does seem to care about pokemon being able to live safely without humans mucking about and disturbing their habitat. Like, really frustrating and upsetting to learn about all the mistakes that have been made since his era (ex: no more Hisui-variant sneazels), but glad to hear that people are finally taking that sort of thing seriously and working to stop, mitigate, and prevent further damage to such things. He could end up being one of the original pokemon conservationists as well as a warden when he returns to the past.

i worked on my self concept way before i found out about loa. i was pretty young actually. i was always that girl preaching how important self love is lmao. But i used to look at myself in the mirror and compliment my body and my face. i used to tell myself how pretty i am, i still do.

But when it came to seeing the world itself in a more positive light that was a lot more harder because of my bpd. So i didn’t really get out of that victim mindset until i found about law of assumption. Which was like nearly 4 years ago now So knowing i have the power to change my reality really helped my sc. So i started affirming against any limiting beliefs i had. Affirmations honestly helped me sm back then.

On the whole god like attitude and instant manifestation i have. I constantly remind myself of the power i have. i happily spend like probably 5-10 each morning ranting about my power as the almighty creator of my reality. The thing i am not ‘trying’ to convince myself, i know for a fact what i’m saying is the truth. I do a lot of scripting on my notes app too. i enjoy every part of reminding myself how powerful i am

And lastly, how i make sure no one takes my seat on that pedestal. I used to get a lot of crushes, and a lot of them made me physically drained and depressed lmao. Probably bc those crushes were coming from putting them on pedestal and seeing myself as not worthy to have any of them. But one time i took a step back and spent nearly 6 months focusing on me. i went on hot girl walks, wore outfits that made me feel even prettier than i already am, i indulged myself in self discovery book, started to enjoy my own company. And im telling you i was the happiest i’ve ever been. I started to myself as unstoppable. That anyone would be lucky to be in my presence.
