Rules

The exchange is multifandom, and open to both artists and writers. Fandoms do not have to have a canonized Ao3 tag to participate.

You must be a member of the Discord, for communication purposes.

Once assigned, participants will have 48 hours to deliver their gift.

Artists are expected to deliver a decent sketch, Writers have a 300 word minimum

No AI-Generated content.

This exchange will be operating on DL:DR when it comes to what the mods will police and what we ask you to respect in terms of other people’s requests. The single exception is RPF, which has additional rules. 

RPF is allowed. Persons nominated for RPF must be famous in their own right and over the age of 18. Persons famous chiefly for their participation in facist regimes or as serial killers will not be considered for nomination. Mods reserve the right to reject RPF nominations in poor taste.

Original Work is allowed. Use the "Original Work" fandom. If it is important to you that a person within a specific pairing is a specific gender, make that clear within the tag, for example "Middle-aged King (M)/His Loyal Bodyguard (NB) (Original Work)".

As this is a 13+ exchange, there is no NSFW allowed, even if you’re sure that both you and your recipient are adults. This applies both to sexual content and to extreme (e-rated) gore.

To increase matching options, tags must be seconded (nominated twice) to make it into the tag set. Because of this, tag nominations will be collected through a google form.

You can nominate tags for up to ten fandoms, with up to twenty tags nominated in each.

You will have one week to submit relationships and characters to a tag set, one week to write your prompts, and 48 hours to deliver your gift.

Participants are required to request at least three fandoms (with associated prompts), and offer to create around at least three fandoms.

To increase matching options, at least one prompt has to work as an art prompt, at least one prompt has to work as a fic prompt, at least one of your prompts has to be either Gen (platonic relationship) or a single-character prompt.

Please include anything you absolutely don't want to receive (Do Not Wants) in the Optional Details field in your AO3 signup. Only DNWs in the Ao3 signup will be enforced, and mods will not enforce DNWs that are overly restrictive or used to box a recipient into a specific gift (i.e. I don't want anything that isn't a space au with the mc's other major love interest dead off screen.)

This exchange uses Ao3's matching algorithm, and as such, you need an Ao3 Account.

just that the fandom is proving how they are only in it for Buck and Eddie/Ryan and Oliver when they're complaining about a deleted scene on social media or claiming "queerbait" instead of asking (not demanding, that was poor word choice by me) to hear from someone else a little more often.

I don't think it's a secret that most of the fandom is only in it for Buddie though?

Not that people don't enjoy the show otherwise or wouldn't be watching without the ship, but online fandom specifically? I don't think there'd be a fandom without Buddie. It would be a show like Station 19 or Chicago Fire maybe, good ratings, a couple of people live tweet it, and a gifset would get maybe 100-500 notes on it.

Most of the online fandom is absolutely in it for Buddie, but also Buck and Eddie as individual characters, which is why the reaction to Buck/Tommy from Eddie stans is solely due to the knowledge that Eddie could have had the arc first, and if Eddie actually did come out this season the Buck stans would be letting people know how upset they are - Buddie is preferred because both sides get what they want out of it. The issue is that many in online fandom pretends to care about the other characters to the same degree to appear "better" than the folks only here for Buddie, yet their actions prove time and time again that it's not the case. Take the disrespect towards Hen as a lesbian who's been there from the very beginning. Henren gifs aren't popping up five minutes after a scene airs just so the op can (hopefully) get the most notes. People ask for Ryan to be released from "PR jail", but where are the requests to hear from Aisha? Why don't people get routinely upset when an episode *looks like* it won't focus too heavily on Hen the way they do when they feel like Eddie is being ignored? "There are more Buck/Tommy fics than Henren fics" Okay...and the Buddie tag has always outdone Henren, so....why is a different pairing a problem now? It's their friends writing the fics anyway? And they support them when it's the endgame they like? Similarly, people claimed to care about/look forward to the Madney wedding, and somehow the discussion was never about the actual event until it happened. it was about how karaoke night could lead to a secret hookup or feelings realization or TOMMY helping fandom's faves get their shit together by "noticing" something between them. In an episode about someone else's wedding. They're here for Henren and Madney and Bathena, but what's the thing everyone's blowing up social media pages about? Buddie. Whether it's complaints over being baited with the promo (something being encouraged on this very site) or sending a barrage of Buddie tweets or comments to drown out any Buck/Tommy support...people sure aren't acting like they know how to enjoy anything that isn't Buddie. I have no problem with anybody who is only/mostly in the fandom for Buddie (I myself will always feel the most connected to the Buckley-Diaz dynamic in any form for personal reasons), or anybody who might be new to us because of Bi Buck and Buck/Tommy. Just don't lie about it to make yourself look better when all it does is highlight your hypocrisy. (I mean, unless they want us to see through them that easily. Lol.)

Helping Maverick out on the P-51 Mustang and become a common past time for Bradley nowadays. Now that the Dagger Squad had been based permanently at Fighter Town, he had time to catch up with Maverick and catch up with you. Y/n Mitchell. Mavericks only kid, who had known Bradley his whole life.

Maverick had left to go to the store and grab something. Leaving Bradley to wash himself up and put the tools away. He heard a bike pull up and naturally thought it was Maverick.

"Hey Mav, I put all the tools away so you wouldn't have to worry." Bradley spoke not seeing it was you.

"Wrong Mitchell there chicken egg." You spoke softly. As Bradley realised it was you, he span around and quickly ran over to hug you. You held each other tight for a few minutes and then Bradley let you back onto the floor.

"You're alive Bradley." You smiled softly cupping his cheek. "Thank you for keeping dad alive. I would've killed you both if you died."

Bradley leaned into your hand and relished your touch. It had been a while since you had seen each other, Bradley going on multiple deployments and missions. Then you travelling around on your motorbike.

"He saved me Y/n." Bradley spoke softly and then looked over at the wall with all the pictures. So many memories and trinkets of Mavericks life. Pictures of you and Bradley in high school going to homecoming, he had asked you that year especially since he was the only boy maverick trusted.

Pictures of Goose, Carol and baby Bradley... Goose and Carol. When Carol passed away, you lost count of the days and nights where Bradley spent mourning the loss of both his parents. Your dad only could do so much, suffering so much grief, regret and guilt in his own way after the crash.

The man in front of you now wasn't the same Bradley you knew when you were younger. But he was still your Bradley no matter how much you saw each other over the years.

"Uhm... I have something of yours that I found the other day in our storage unit." You spoke as you walked over to the locker that was next to your dads,

"You do?" Bradley asked curiously and walked over with you.

"I don't remember when or how I kept it with me... I think you may have left it at mine when we use to play." You responded and you pulled out a toy of an F-14, like the ones Maverick and Goose use to fly in.

"You... You still have that? I was wondering where that had went... You had it all this time." Bradley smiled holding the toy, turning it over in his hand.

"Just wanted a reminder of my favorite chicken egg I suppose." You leaned into his side, "Dad said you're permanently based here now, is that true?" You asked softly.

"That's right... you wanna go out at some point?" He responded with a question as he dragged you to the sofa that's in the hanger.

"I would but not today." Your response was quiet as Bradley laid on the sofa and you laid on top of him. All you could feel was Bradley's hand stroking through your hair which eventually led you drifting off to sleep.

By the time Maverick had gotten back he saw you both asleep and smiled. Grabbing a spare blanket he laid it over the pair of you to keep you warm. As Maverick was about to walk away he saw the toy plane and picked it up placing it with all the trinkets that go on his memory wall. But then he also took a picture of you and Bradley to add to the wall.

"Bradley is good for you kiddo." Maverick whispered as he went into his trailer.

can't believe a show based on a videogame (usually games adaptations are notoriously bad, which isn't the case here tho) gave me the beauty and the beast/twisted mirrors/enemies to traveling companions/ruthless antihero+optmistic but still badass heroine who takes none of his shit/age gap but make it sexy dynamic of my dreams. as much as i love maximus and i think he deserves the best writing ever because 1. he's a clever deconstruction of the aspiring Knight bro who's actually a bit of a loser and, as much as lucy, sees the world in black&white at first and then doesn't get what he thought he wanted but what he needs (or at least i hope he'll eventually get it), and 2. he's a cutie and i want an epic love story for him too, it's very funny how they tried to give us a puppy kind of romance and the tumblr girlies still fixated on the "toxic ~she bites his finger off and he cuts hers off and sews it on his hand in what we'll pretend it's a symbolic marriage rings exchange or whatever~ asshole who used to be a nice guy/good girl™ with a lot of spunk and hidden anger but unshakeable morals" kind of relationship.

Putting this under a read-more because I don't actually like the Hannibal/Will ship.

I actually really don't like aspects of the show, and I really hate the pairing when it's canonical (almost everything I've ever bookmarked is an AU).

I generally avoid it wherever possible, but sometimes the tags are just too good and so I give the fic a try - and I'll generally like it because of the author, and will pretend that the couple is someone else.

It's not my dynamics at all, anon, I'm sorry. I've never been that interested in writing pure cannibalistic sociopaths who brainwash their victims and abuse them until they get encephalitis, and while there's lots of ways to write Hannibal so that it's not like that, I just don't also feel very drawn to Mads Mikkelsen either (I'm sorry everyone gomen I'm super sorry sdlkfjdas), which pretty much puts the whole pairing in the 'no thank you' basket.

It's funny because I liked the original stories by Thomas Harris, and I really like Hugh Dancy as well as Gillian Anderson. But I spent most of my time actually finding Hannibal/Will squicky, and while it's not as bad as it used to be, I don't go out of my way to read anything to do with them.

But sometimes the tags are just too appealing, lol, and I feel like the story won't feel like it's set in the canonical universe which helps!

Also the longest fic I’ve ever written and the only chapter fic I’ve ever completed in 10 years of fanfic writing. I am so proud of the fic and happy that so many people have enjoyed it!

well, firstly, anon, this is tumblr dot com, not maths class. i've said repeatedly, and i will say it again, that i reserve the right to be as hypocritical and insane as i want here. after all, it's tumblr - if i can't be insane and hypocritical here, then where can i?

example: anyone who watches my blog at all during a race week will know that i am NO max fan. not in the slightest. and yet i will occasionally reblog maxiel fic recs. why? well, because they're quite often quite well-written. at the end of the day, i'm a fangirl and also a bisexual disaster, so if there's a well-written gay fanfic, the chances are relatively high that i will read and enjoy it. also: i think there's quite a significant difference between fic!max (who i occasionally enjoy) and driver!max (who i despise quite passionately.) fic!max has a lot of background and nuance that can make for fascinating characterisation, and as a writer, i just enjoy that.

now for carlos specifically: please let it be known that i do not hate him the way i hate max. not even close. i am, however, a dedicated chirlie (charles girlie) and anyone who gets in the way of charles doing well is automatically in my bad books. i do try to be at least a little reasonable about it, though, and yes i absolutely do realise that a lot of major fuck-ups this season were ferrari's, not carlos' (see: silverstone 2022.) but yeah, unfortunately the way carlos has handled a lot of interviews this year really rubbed me up the wrong way, and i read one too many comparisons of carlos girlies calling him more talented than charles as well. which.... babe, no.

like i said at the start, i am fully aware that i'm a hypocrite lmao. but i'm not HERE to be unbiased. we are watching a sport - everyone is biased towards their favourites, and i'm not going to apologise for that.

and as for carlando and piarlos - i treat them the same way as i would maxiel. carlos might not be on my favourites list as a driver, but he's an interesting character to explore in fic. i am at the end of the day a writer, and i like interesting characters to explore, so yes, i am quite happy to post carlando or piarlos or very very occasionally even charlos content (because akira is the best and might convert me one day. we'll see.)

anyway! the last thing i wanted to say to you, anon, is just a gentle reminder again of the PURPOSE of fandom. it is an escape from real life, somewhere where we can come to have fun. the same rules and restrictions and - dare i say it - morals that we use irl do not apply here. they just don't! fandom should be about what makes one happy, and nobody really has the right to police that, i don't think.

so tl;dr - anon, i am here to do whatever it is that makes me happy in that moment. if that's carlando and/or piarlos, then that's what i'll do. if you have a problem with that, then i'm happy to point you in the direction of the Unfollow button, lmao - curate your experience! see what you want to see. have fun!
