Ok I need to tell you the way me meeting Jure happened bcs I just think it's funny:
Me and my friend got to Logomo at like 16.30 or something bcs we were planning to just party at the back. We went to sit on the ground by the back service entrance bcs we just wanted sun and a peaceful spot away from the crowd lol. We sat there for like 45min, during which I had complained about forgetting my cigarettes at home and also about how cute Jure actually is (yes these were related idk). We also heard soundcheck and saw the Häärijä Bojan story being filmed lmao. Suddenly, the door opened and I see a blond mop of hair and go "guys thats Jure" and he sat straight down to have a cigarette
Tumblr media
This photo is important bcs you need to see the distance (or lack thereof) we're talking about. Now, the second he got there we went deathly quiet and were unsure if we should bother him since he was sick the day before, and in the end we let him sit there for like 5-10min by himself. What's funny about this is that my friend (in the photo) is German so we were speaking english, meaning that not even a language barrier could cover us and he could just hear everything 💀. AND ALSO THERE WAS NO DISTANCE idk what we were thinking honestly.
Me and 2 others then finally gathered our courage and thought if we just politely give him our gifts etc he'll be okay, and we went over. Someone had a notebook for him to draw a tattoo saying Novi Val and he spent like genuienly 4min writing a 2 word sentence and the N ended up looking like an H so idk what he was doodling. Then we just talked for like 10min with him, during which I had such a humbling moment it was unreal. When we asked him if they plan on staying after the tour, he said no and that they'd be flying to Venice on the weekend. To this all of us went "Ohhh that's so nice!" until he went "Yeah because we have such bad luck with flights so we never have a straight flight to Ljubljana", like all of us really thought he meant they'd have some holiday in Venice or smth 💀. Anywayss I also might've told him I booked tickets to see them in Wrocław even though I haven't done that yet (only concert tickets) but ig I have to now lmao.
Later he reached into his pocket to pull out another cigarette, and I quickly gave him my pack that I had made him. It was this painted over light pink one with JO blue and yellow rhinestones, heart sequins and a painted cat at the back lmao. It was SO babygirl glittery and he loved it. Then he shared some with us and whatever cancer I might've gotten was worth it only so I can say I've used Jure's lighter now (that has the word Joker on it lmao):
(this video is shit but I only wanted audio of his reaction to my gift and I didn't want to have a camera in his face lol, I only recorded like 2min out of 10 or smth haha)
Anywayss then after a while he got up and we took some photos with him, and he went back inside to have some lunch (it was 17.30 atp 😐). Maybe I didn't get to meet Jance this tour but this encounter was so sweet and unexpected, and Jure really is as nice as he appears online lol (and also bcs he said he felt a lot better than the day before at Tavastia)
(Never getting over the fact that he later put the ciggies on his story, I NEED to know what the others thought of them)

I think it would be interesting for batman villains to display different responses to extreme trauma. Not just insanity, make them less insane insane as they are just making sense of what happened to them in the most reasonable way they feel works.
Ivy in my world is a politician until she's assaulted and dumped into bog to never be seen again. Reborn as a spirit of nature, not particularly human, and by the way she was gotten rid of; it's made clear that she's unwanted. She gets back at those who wronged her and slander her by eating them alive as a monster that may wear the face of a woman but is no longer human at all.
Riddler doesn't even conceptualise that his way of growing up isn't normal. Watching peers get trapped and killed in training trials isn't normal. Being ordered to regularly kill your friends isn't normal. Which is why he sees it to be acceptable to put other people in his killer escape rooms and sometimes the answer to getting out is to kill the other person trapped with you to get through.
Scarecrow is a guy that is scared of lashing out, under near constant stress of a demon that follows him around as a protector. He's afraid of it lashing out to a percieved threat and getting him into serious trouble. So he hides away absolutely terrified of the world and of the demon that will slaughter anybody who may threaten him.
Two-face is not split personality he's a man trying to reconcile the personality he puts out to the public, good and reliable Harvey and the absolute pain of having half of his face disfigured (cut off and burned) trying to play off the incident as nothing that can keep him down but knowing that getting into office and not complying with those who hurt him will result in him getting the other half agonisingly ripped off, if he makes THEM unhappy.
Joker...I prefer him as a plot device that other people have opinions on than an actual character. I like the idea of joker's son wanting to kill joker, to be ashamed of being related to him. Joker's son looking at batman and asking him what does blood mean when they've killed someone you care about, and saying that there's no amount of redemption or justification in the world that could make him forgive joker for killing his best friend (practically brother) so the guy needs to die.
I want insanity to come as a result of something, to have it be the most functional response to the most horrible incident. It's not one bad day, it's an upbringing that tried to wipe out a person to turn you into a tool, a purposeful attempt to dehumanize you erase you and everything you sought to build, it's a life time of terror and not being capable of asking for help for something that's beyond anyone's understanding, it's alienating the people you thought were your friend's because they don't have anything to offer when you're in the worst position of your life, it's being told to not be angry to be quiet and let it be and trust the adult who's already failed you in the one thing that's ever mattered to you and watching as they continue to to fail you and still ask you to not get mad.
I'd like a batman that asks what's more crazy? To keep pushing people and expecting nothing to ever give or to believe that people who have no basis of understanding of what proper kindness or mercy is to begin with because they've never received it in the acceptable means to know how to be good correctly.

DPxDC: In Another Life, Jason died. In here, he lived.
"Hello?"
"Robin?" an unfamiliar voice spoke through his phone.
"Yes?" Jason frowned.
"Whatever you do, don't go to the warehouse. Don't trust Sheila. She's working for the Joker."
"What?" Jason glanced back at his birth-mother, who was looking at him curiously from the distance.
...She wouldn’t do that, right?
"Please listen to me. It's a trap. She's going to betray you."
Jason clenched the phone tightly. Annoyance flickered in his chest as the stranger continued to plead for him whatever nonsense this was, but his Bat training was the only thing tethering him from ending the call.
He wanted to deny it. He wanted to scream at whoever this was that it wasn’t true. Sheila cared for him. She spent all her life giving aid in a refuge camp, helping people in need.
Just like him.
Yet Jason couldn’t help the suspicion rising in his chest as Sheila approached him as he ended the call. Now that the stranger pointed it out, something was not right.
***
Danny frowned as he slowly put the phone down. "What was that about, Clock?"
His mentor only gave him a knowing grin.
He didn’t know why Clockwork told him that it was imperative that Danny had to be the one warning to some kid his age of this Sheila and Joker person, but whatever. Danny barely understood the instructions Clockwork had given him nor the situation.
Don’t get him wrong, Danny was glad to help someone from what sounded a bad situation.
Danny sighed. Knowing Clockwork, it's something important enough for futue-related reasons. Hopefully this Robin would be okay with the warning Danny has given to him.
Unbeknownst to the two boys, it was that phone call that saved everything.
In another life, Jason Todd, the second Robin, would have died in Ethiopia after the betrayal from his own birthmother.
But in this life, because of Danny’s warning, Jason Todd lived.
And years had passed before the two boys meet again.
This is one of the few ideas I had for Danny & Jason fic. It wasn’t even meant to be a dpxdc actually. The idea of Jason getting a warning thru a phone call just appeared in my head and eventually I decided to bring Danny into the fic. Will I get around writing this fic in AO3? I’ll say say it will go in another of my long WIPs that I never published yet.
But anyway, I hope you enjoy this. I know I look forward to the fast-forward where Danny and Jason meet again after that phone call :)

I have always asked myself why do you ship batjokes? What is the appeal for you with this ship? You like bruce a lot, so why ship him with joker? I am just very, very curious.
Hi! From your question it seems like you associate having a favorite character solely with wanting them to be happy or wanting them to have nice things, which... yes, but also you have to keep in mind that half of Tumblr means this when they say they like a character:
Tumblr media
Which I very much relate to, personally. Bruce Wayne is my favorite character of all time, but I specifically like to read/write about him going through the Horrors.
Shipping Bruce with Joker... well. Perhaps you're familiar with Hannibal NBC, and Hannigram? Death Note, and Lawlight? Or more recently, Interview with the Vampire and Loustat? I could list some more enemies-to-lovers, but it's the same principle. Two bastards who deserve each other and should not inflict themselves on anyone else, hand in unlovable hand.
Still, I appreciate that you're asking me this in good faith, so I'll try to explain in more detail. I got long, so I'll put my answer under the cut. Just a heads-up: there's mention of abuse, depression and some discussion of suicidality (stuff that tends to come up with more in-depth talk of Batjokes in comics), so take care.
While the ships I mentioned also have a portion of fandom going "But A is the good guy! Why would he care about B, who kills people and only seems to make them suffer?", that portion is larger when it comes to Batjokes. Bruce Wayne is Batman-- he's supposed to be a hero, the father figure of a large family, a symbol of hope. And there's a lot to be said about a more idealized or fanon version of Bruce, and the gap between it and the one depicted in comics. But I'm mentioning this gap because it tends to be connected with an unwilligness to deal with, or even acknowledge, Bruce's dark side.
Bruce struggles with violent tendencies, with an unbelievable amount of anger, with control issues, with paranoia and self-hatred and issues with intimacy. He's terrifyingly intelligent and also incredibly manipulative when he wants to be. He's canonically been abusive to his adopted children and he's canonically been shown to have quite the sadistic streak. And while I understand why some fans see this as bad writing (to be fair, sometimes it just is), reinterpret parts of it or pretend it doesn't exist... it is there, and it is a pattern. Many of these darker aspects of Bruce's personality are a result of how he's processed his trauma-- refusing to heal is literally the fuel for being Batman. But refusing to face his grief has consequences, and some of them inevitably end up ricocheting off his loved ones; though I am saying this as an explanation, not an excuse.
The way he's been written seems to have spawned two larger attitudes in Tumblr fandom, varying in degree and nuance: either refusing to deal with Bruce's dark side, or only seeing his dark side and hating his character entirely. And obviously, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and preference, as long as they respect others'. But to me personally, it's never been black-and-white. One of the best parts about Bruce's character is the very conflict at the heart of him... because despite everything I mentioned, Bruce always tries to do better. He's also empathetic and compassionate; he hungers for love and for connection, and he constantly tries to help people and do good. In my eyes, that's what Batman is about: never giving up. You fail, but you get back up and you try again. You might be struggling with so many things threatening to drag you under, but you make the effort to do good. To me that's deeply inspirational, specifically because it's not second nature to Bruce.
If you prefer a version of Bruce that doesn't have much of a dark side, Batjokes is likely not something you'll enjoy. Bruce caring about Joker is very much connected to it. He deeply relates to Joker because their identities are both born out of their traumas. They could have become the other, and that's a level of closeness and intertwining that cannot be understated. In the face of their loved ones being taken away, Bruce and whoever Joker used to be made choices in the opposite direction. Bruce chose to force meaning onto the world and be defined by his past. He chose to channel his anger into ensuring no one else goes through what he went through. Joker had the same anger, but he chose to erase his own past and burn the world down instead. He chose to ensure everyone else goes through the same horror he went through, to prove nothing has meaning.
And this is, at the end of the day, the reason why Batman never lets Joker die, even when it doesn't make sense. Joker's existence makes Bruce feel less alone-- and yes, it is very selfish of him to choose this over the lives of others and despite what Joker has done, but it is what it is. I've seen people discredit this notion of Joker being Batman's friend as stupid, because Bruce already has so many allies and such an extensive Family; how could he feel alone? He already has so many relationships, people he cares about and who care about him. But... that's never how it works, is it? You don't choose to feel the way you feel. Bruce loves the people around him, and those relationships ground him in very meaningful ways, but that doesn't make the darkness disappear. He wishes it did. But his choice to be Batman is a choice to keep hurting, like I just described. It sets him apart. And the line it puts him on, the things he's balancing, are things Joker intimately understands. Joker is his shadow and his creation, his negative. Bruce's anger and his sadistic violence get channeled in his relationship with Joker, and the worse Joker gets the better Batman has to become, and viceversa. I see it a bit like magic (and Bruce does too, when he talks about how he's afraid that if Joker disappeared, Gotham would send him someone worse). You cannot perform magic without it exacting a price, and the price for Bruce's good is Joker's evil. Lives are saved, but then lives are taken away.
What I am describing here is the appeal of the ship to me. In many ways, romantic is not nearly enough to describe it; I'm just fascinated by their dynamic, any form it takes. Batman and Joker have been opposites and narrative foils for almost a century, and I'll probably never run out of stuff to analyze (yay!). There's so many stories with them, so many different incarnations of them, so many layers and complications that their dynamic has accumulated, simply by virtue of how old and mythical they have become.
The more accurate description for them is probably soulmates, but the most painful kind-- destined to always meet but to always be at war, never able to kill the other or let the other go, because they are two sides of the same coin. And there's an attraction to not being able to let go, no matter how high the bodies pile up. Bruce can't kill Joker without losing himself, and he can't let Joker die. Joker can't kill Batman or let him die without losing his life's meaning. No matter what, the other is always there. They hate and resent this connection plenty, but at the end of the day, the other's existence is an essential comfort they can't run away from.
And thing is, Bruce sacrifices so much for his crusade as Batman. He sacrifices his very childhood and self, his potential happiness; he distances himself from his loved ones and he pushes them away. He represses as much as he is able to so he can go on, so he can save as many people as possible, so he can rewrite the trauma that broke him. But he chases Joker. He obsesses over Joker like over no one else. He chooses to keep Joker alive, even when it hurts his Family and even when it leads to more and more death.
Joker is a connection he selfishly chooses, and doesn't run away from, especially because it hurts. Both Bruce and Joker are self-hating and suicidal, so they allow themselves this one thing precisely because it's destroying them both. Yet, no matter what, part of Bruce sees in Joker someone who suffers, someone who understands, and he keeps trying to reach out to him because of it. It's not just the worst parts of Bruce that resonate with Joker. It's also his hope. Somewhere deep down he can't let go of the idea that maybe, Joker could be better, and if Joker could be better, maybe he could be better too.
...I guess I ship them because I want Bruce to get what he wants. Whether it's dying alongside Joker in a cave, or them helping each other heal, in spite of everything (both of these are plots for stories Scott Snyder has written, hah). Because the thing about Batjokes is that they're perhaps the only people on Earth who could get the other to stop. The easiest way is the way they've already chosen-- by being the one to kill the other. They both see death as the ultimate form of peace, a laying down of arms. But there's also the reverse; the possibility of a world in which neither of them has to die. A world in which they're not each other's preferred method of suicide, but in which they actually learn to live again, helped by the other.
I tend to oscillate between the two. I like Batjokes as an unmitigated tragedy with a course that cannot be diverted, and I like Batjokes as the most unlikely path to a form of peace. Both can provide catharsis in different ways. On a symbolic level, Joker is fighting for meaninglessness and Batman is fighting for meaning; Joker asks, "What is the point?" and Batman answers, "The fight is the point." On an individual level, they're both depressed and suffering from PTSD and always a hairbreadth away from self-destruction, but they keep each other alive, no matter how much it hurts. You can probably imagine how this ship can be a comfort, for people with similar struggles.
I do hope this satisfied your curiosity, Anon. Batjokes might still not be your cup of tea and that's okay, but as someone who likes to read about other ships and the psychology behind them, I hope this was at least a fun read. You seem like you're familiar with my blog already, but just in case you want to seek out canonical instances of what I am describing, I can point you to this compilation of Bruce's side of things that mentions part of what I say here, but also delves into comics. And my Batjokes meta tag is full of similar stuff, some detailing Joker's side too.

i can't find the vods for the rest of your endwalker playthrough (if you even did stream the rest) so i was wondering, what were your opinions on 6.0? (also what were your reactions to That urianger scene)
I think I only did like one or two streams of it. It ran kinda bad when I streamed it, people didn't want to watch it, and I wasn't getting much out of streaming it compared to just playing it on my own time. That and I think I had a really severe depressive episode at the time (for unrelated reasons).
IDK if anyone's still trying to avoid spoilers but I'll throw it under a read-more.
It's been a while since I last played so my memory's kind of spotty. I liked it, though. It felt like a satisfying conclusion to what they've been getting at since 2.0 MSQ, and a nice little dialogue on despair and exhaustion and depression and hope, and finding ways to carry on and keep living and keep loving and keep trying. I feel like that's when the game's overall writing and theming tends to be at its strongest (yes I liked the Dark Knight questlines haha).
I remember having mixed feelings about how they pulled off the Garlemald segment & the "Alphinaud and Alisaie's shit head dad" plotline but I don't remember enough of the specifics to really elaborate on that.
Alisaie has lesbian college admirers and I thought that was funny.
I came out of 5.5 MSQ expecting White Woman Jumpscare Hydaelyn to be a little trite but I ended up really liking Venat. I felt kinda whatever about Emet-Selch coming back, but I didn't hate what they did with him I guess, and his earless-Viera boy toy was fun. Fandaniel felt like The Joker but he still felt like a fine first-act villain. The way they write him (& Meteion) in the later chunk of the game felt more interesting to me, & felt like a fun play on "Shadowbringers"-era Emet-Selch's whole "AMAUROT, BABY! GREATEST CITY IN DA WORLD, BABY! SLIMES ALL OVER DA STREET, BABY!" nostalgia. It was funny when he was The Joker, though.
Final area was thematically and visually really interesting. I'm excited we got more stuff related to Omega & I'm glad we got more "btw the dragons are aliens" stuff. I've seen a lot of people forget about that, for whatever reason. That one area right by the end that was completely desolate, with no people & no indication of who lived there, was a really good setpiece. The Namazu canonically suffer in all possible dimensions and all possible worlds and you cannot help but laugh out loud.
I kind of rolled my eyes at Zenos coming back. "By the way he's a Reaper now" felt like it amounted to nothing, but admittedly I never did the Reaper questline or the post-6.0 stuff. Getting to punch him in the face at the end was fun.
Music was good, I liked the way they played with different motifs & I really like how that comes to a head in the final boss fight.
I was expecting moon rabbits to be grating and insufferable but I liked them. I fucking love that none of this planet's moons are normal. Why are they both orbital prison-ships. I love it.
Zodiark's design owned and Hydaelyn's design was okay. Very Yoshitaka Amano design, which makes sense given how he did that one boxart for "A Realm Reborn" & she looks a lot like she does there, but I kinda wish she got to look more monstrous and weird. She kept talking up becoming a monster to do what she felt was right!!! I wish that had informed her design a little more.
Hamburgers exist & I do like that the animators got to livingly render G'raha Tia going to town on one like those weird clips of anime girls where it looks like they've never eaten in their lives.
I don't remember what you mean by "the Urianger scene". LOL
You didn't ask, but the crafting/gathering questlines were a lot of fun. I feel like they (& the guildleves) added some fun extra context to everything going on while I was going through the MSQ.
I liked it overall. I don't think it's the highest point of the game's writing, but I had a good time and felt very satisfied by the time it came to a close.

What is your favorite video game? (Or other type of game?)
(Apologies if this is one you've already answered)
Ok, so this is one I can never answer with just one definitive game, so I'll give you the list in no particular order!
Celeste: I mean, what can I say? It tells a deeply relatable story about overcoming your own mental mountain, and the absolute battle that can be on the way. The ups, the downs, the even further downs... then that stubborn climb back up. Plus, it's got really tight and well put together platforming mechanics, really good level design and art direction, and one of my favorite video game soundtracks ever.
Night in the Woods: This is the game that actually helped me get through a really, really bad depressive rut a few years back. You're put into the shoes of someone who struggles with a lot of aspects of life, and forced not only to confront yourself, but explore other peoples struggles at the same time, and the concept of growing up when you never really had the chance to be a kid. It fundamentally changed my perception on death. I'll never forget the line "When I die, I want it to hurt"
SLARPG: 4 gay ass furries go on an adventure, kiss, and learn deeply important lessons about themselves. It was kinda destined to be a game I loved. It's got a beautiful art style, a soundtrack I've listened to more times than I can count, and just a really lovable cast of characters. Plus, I'm real partial to notably sapphic furry women (and traditional JRPGs)
Terraria: I feel like being one of the only games I've sank over 1000 hours into makes this a pretty notable pick among my favs. Solid mechanics, one of my favorite games for mobility progression and tech, a good host of real fun boss fights, pretty much everything you could ask for! I do think there are times when the game just steps it the hell up and progression slows down a good bit (notably after plantera), but it's a seriously fun game to come back to and play every once in a while!
Undertale Yellow: Oh my GOSH, this game is too good for its own dang good!!! It's a fanmade prequel game to Undertale that tells the lovingly crafted stories of an all new cast of characters (bar like- two beasts who overlap), expands and explores Undertale's worldbuilding, has a REALLY GOOD soundtrack that's been stuck in my head for weeks, and just... more of what gave Undertale its magic. Having seen all three endings (and the neutral one being the most compelling somehow??), it's just amazing what the team behind the game managed to pull off. It's a passion project on a scale I've never really seen before.
Some honorable mentions: Beat Saber, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, Armored Core 6, Ghost Giant, Enter the Gungeon, and Minecraft
...Okay, enough rambling from me! I hope that gives you a good look at what I like to play!

🔥 Batman comics in general
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
Oooh! I do think a lot of my saltier Batman comics opinions aren't exactly unpopular in nature (too much grimdark and never in the right direction, the misogyny, Killing Joke was a mistake, BruceBabs was a mistake, stop misusing Rogues), so I'll try to bring up some less-discussed ones! (Or at least ones I see discussed less, lol.)
Batfam is conceptually good, but nobody is handling it well. As I've previously expressed, Batfam content constantly oscillates between "Bruce is an abusive kidnapper of traumatized children he trains into child soldiers despite having the means to have them live in luxury, does not provide with love or positive reinforcement, and regularly pits against each other" and some of the most facile, cringey, early 2010s Tumblr conception of found-family to be seen, when I think it's more dramatically effective to find a happy medium between the two. A loving superhero found family with its share of dysfunction, hurts, and mistakes and appropriate nuance being brought to these conflicts is apparently too much to ask for (as is writers remembering Robin(s) and Batgirl literally exist as kid appeal characters).
Likewise, canon Harlivy is seldom handled well. As I said on Twitter the other day, "corporate Pride ate Harlivy". Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's relationship, both back when it was subtextual and later on as it became Harley's main ship in iterations where she's able to get out of her abusive relationship with the Joker was groundbreaking and important. It was absolutely crucial to middle school me. But somewhere along the way, people lost the plot that they are indeed villainesses (whose queerness was meant to make them more endearing/sympathetic/relatable, but not change this status), and it fell prey to the respectability politics traps that plague just too many sapphic ships once they go canon. In order to be 'good representation', their villainy extends to 'haha RANDOM' irreverent chaos, and their personality gets boiled down to the shallow archetypes of 'chaotic and perky' Harley and 'snarky and sexy' Ivy. Their relationship to one another is 100% fluff, because God knows any nuance, tension, flaws, or friction between two master criminal characters with canonically tragic histories can't possibly be allowed. Because of the misogynistic expectations of Women Being Soft And Good coupled with the homophobic respectability politics of being as toothless, soft, and desexualized as possible to appear nonthreatening, sapphic ships are held to such unfair standards wherein the slightest conflict will be termed abusive and bad representation, and as such, they're written cardboard-flat, and unfortunately, this has befallen Harlivy in most canons where they're together. Even if it's realistically exploring things like recovery for either lady, because that's messy, and complicated, and nonlinear, and who wants that when you can have a memeable 'be gay do crimes'? Oh, but don't worry. Sometimes they will be sexually active - for the titillation of straight men. In-universe. (Don't get me started on the Harley Quinn show...) And poor Selina gets roped into third-wheeling/cheerleading the most boring possible version of them too often...
A lot of the most popular/famous titles are not the better ones. (Not you, Long Halloween, you're a delight and everyone loves you.) Everything that's there to say about The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns has been said better by people smarter and better-versed in comics than me, but Batman: Hush is just contrivance upon contrivance, everyone and their mother is tired of the shit-billion stories about Joker fridging yet another person, and perhaps my most unpopular opinion is that Batman: Year One is entirely overrated. I like the noir atmosphere, the truly corrupted Gotham it gives us, and the sweet triumvirate between Gordon, Harvey, and Bruce, but seeing adaptations like The Batman (2022) and even The Dark Knight (yes, I'm saying something nice about Nolanverse for once lolol) take these elements and do so much more with them really highlights the weaknesses in this story. There's some really good origin/character work for Bruce becoming Batman and the psychology behind it, but past that, not a whole lot happens beyond a very thin and confusing police corruption plot, and everyone is just too damn mean for the sake of the grimdark setting. Bruce injures an already exploited child in the red-light district and sexually harasses the Gordons to throw them off his trail for being Batman, and the latter is played for laughs. Jim cheats on his pregnant wife with a coworker half his age and both women are portrayed as stereotypically in these roles as humanly possible. Selina Kyle is...there, to be angry and sexualized and not much else. It just feels like a lot of buildup without much payoff.
Lastly, and jumping off the above, I'm taking away the Gordon family from writers until they've learned to play nicely with them. I don't know what it is about Jim Gordon that makes writers - men in particular - work through justifying their weird issues about women, but my God, the poor man has been character assassinated to hell and back. (Everyone has in comics, but it's always in the same way with Gordon that properly grosses me out.) If he's not cheating on his housewife with a much younger coworker he's presented as oh-so-noble for not outright workplace harassing, he's neglectful, abusive, or otherwise aggressive to his loved ones in ways that are almost always justified or excused narratively because he's 'dealing with a lot' or xyz past trauma. He's frequently made into a mouthpiece for misogyny, calling women "bitches" in the Arkham series and making other such delightful comments, fetishizing Harlivy (in the Harley Quinn show!), or putting down Barbara's capabilities. If he's written to be struggling with addiction, it's always played as a joke. And for Barbara's part, since The Killing Joke, she's always such a favoured writers' punching bag/doll to put in uncomfortable relationships, often having her talents, skills and intelligence undermined in favour of portraying her as a sex-crazed, overemotional disaster who's in it for the thrills until she is narratively punished in some gendered way. I don't get it! I'm all for what makes characters tick or challenging them or giving them flaws or new horrific situations to work through, but why is it always the same tired, offensive hows and wherefores for the Gordon family? Let them rest!

When it comes to Jikook this would always be the results cos a lot of jokers aren't sure of themselves, don't want to over step, don't want to offend- we had the short end of the stick and all the ass kissers and people pleasers are in our team.
Frankly don't see anything wrong with that art- oh thank God. Just saw my partner in crime just messaged me.
You wait till he approves a Tae kook fanart or some other equally wholesome art of his brother from a Tuktukker or other and the conversation will be different.
The lack of common sense in acknowledging most Koreans in Kpop are already familiar with the concept of and participate in the culture of shipping because shipping is not tabooed within their culture.
This is not the West damn arses.
These are the same people who are quick to remind you skinship is common place in korea but then fail to understand so is shipping. Jimin has literally called him and Jungkook a couple and Jungkook keep making Ramen jokes with Jimin BECAUSE THEY ARE OKAY WITH BEING SHIPPED
Tumblr media
Jokers are always looking for validation from other shippers and non shippers because they've tricked themselves into thinking they are an elitist group.
These people are only mad he isn't approving and allowing their Tae on KOOK amateur erotic pornography on his page. Are they not the same ones badgering companies to post on Tae kook? They want Jk's family to validate their ship so bad but I'm sorry Jimin is the golden retriever of the Jeon family 👪
Tumblr media
Bet he saw this
Tumblr media
Bet he saw this too cos tuktukker's been tagged him in everything even the ones they yet to fart out of their brains.
Tumblr media
Okay but this is cute tho🤭
And if you know anything bout idols and their family- not every idol allows their family to get involved with their fans let alone like their stuff or retweet at them.
Most relatives of celebrities seek consent from them before posting anything relating to them lest they get them or themselves in trouble.
And while Jungkook might be his brother, he needs to ask if he or Jimin will be okay with him allowing such a tag as they themselves don't allow tags on their pages.
He gotta respect his brother's boundaries and since Jimin is portrayed as being caressed and dotted on by Jungkook in that art he certainly needs Jimin's consent also. If he gets JM hate for this then he would be sorry to Jimin without that consent.
Especially as he and Jungkook have been in trouble over a clothing company around the same period he was tagged in that fanart (November last year right?)
Did yall not pay attention when Hobi explained the process of acquiring consent from members before posting their drunken stuff, and were yall not the ones that cussed JM out for posting Tae's stuff that became such a huge scandal?
My friend and I we went back and forth on this wondering why he is only now allowing tags to show after that long- you need not know the conclusions we arrived at.
But still, after careful consideration and going through all that to get consent from his brother and probably Jimin, yall want me to believe he has no idea what he is doing. FREE ME.
FREE SHIPPERS.
FREE US FROM YOUR BIGOTRY.
MINGGUk WAS NOT INVENTED BY SHIPPERS.
THEY ARE A TEAM. THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS VALID.
Sorry I'm screaming but the more I think about this the more gassed I get.
The sun and moon duo, the black and white couple are all names Hybe has officially acknowledged. WHY DON'T YOU LET US SHIP OUR SHIP IN PEACE?!
WHY?!
Tumblr media
LONG LIVE JIKOOK YOU MOTHER FUCKERS
Tumblr media
THEY ALREADY WON

can i ask for your thoughts on all of the phantom thieves ?
i feel like im being interviewed lol... and well i've completed p5(r) 3 times + i'm starting my 4th right now so clearly i have a lot of thoughts so i don't know how to boil it down into a sensible easily communicated response to a tumblr ask haha...
basically i love everyone...um. in short (p5(r) spoilers):
joker: the most trans in any direction character, stylish, fun, mostly-silent swag. i love protagonists. joker can hold multitudes. insert the behind the mask lyrics. i think about 3rdsembadend a lot. also "canon" names wise i prefer akira by a fair amount if that matters. keeping them unnamed in my comics is a deliberate choice though haha
mona: people need to stop being mean to him he's literally a cat. my brother loves him :) little guy... yeah okumura palace sucks but most of the others have shitty moments too...lol. he's literally a little guy what more do you want. ask me about my thoughts on his gender
ryuji: my best friend!! i think i enjoy him more and more over time he's so ride or die. just a swell dude. such a bro. simple in a good way. aftermath aside his moment in shidopalace is so iconic of him
ann: my second favorite 5 character i love her so so so much. maybe her relevance drops hard post-kamoshida but do i look like i care. she makes me happy :) and also she will forever be iconic for the whole "he can't suffer if he's dead" thing. there are types of characters that i like.
yusuke: okay. confession. the reason yusuke's barely showed up in gomics (he was in the background One time) is because i'm bad at drawing him and worse at writing him (i'm aware the standard of writing for these things is low (lol) but i just can't channel his vibe. being an artist and Like That doesn't even help). i love him though!! he's so funny and his confidant rules. etc. one of those characters that i don't think of 24/7 but when i do think about him it's like. explosion
makoto: she'll figure things out.
futaba: little sister obtained...!! she's my everything. like...dude. i don't know how to put it into words to be quite honest she's just so real. so real. so real!! her palace was good :') she's really fun and resonates so well emotionally... mental illness represent and stem kid solidarity (i do not have the capability of hacking into the government). iconic that they gave her the male velvet suit.
haru: she really needed more screentime i know that's not a new thing to say but it's true she gets overshadowed SO bad. i adore haru... it's. um. the like. reservedness? like she's been holding things back. and strength. and the "i am no longer your subservient puppet". it's interesting how she doesn't get proper resolution for her palace-related troubles like the others (read: dad got assassinated)...and yeah the gap moe of her capacity for violence also. #girl
goro: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. yeah. um. he's my favorite. anyway
sumire: i like her a lot, just more in theory than in practice if that makes sense... why did they put her hair back up and steal her glasses... i think her inclusion in sae's palace is kind of nonsensical but i get it i guess it's for returning players and all. love the cinderella thing she has going on. she's sweet. she has so little time to really shine which is a bummer. i like her. she's a good contrast to the other two in 3rdsem and funny also.

2022 Year in Review
Tumblr media
2022 was a fascinating year for the character of Cassandra Cain. Like the years prior, the year built off creators who do adore the character. So let's look back at 2022 for Cass.
To start this was the first complete year that the character had an ongoing shared with two other characters in Batgirls. While the covers have been utter gold the story themselves has been divided the fanbase with the portrayal of the three Batgirls involved.
For me, my problems with the book is just the way to incoporate Babs into the series. Make her being Batgirl anytime in the series a MOMENT. Let her flourish as Oracle more here while allowing new fans to open to Cass/Steph as the Batgirls.
Cass has been somewhat coincidental with a character arc compared to say Steph/Babs. She continues to make strides trying to overcome her reading disability (thanks to Basil and Babs).
Tumblr media
In truth, the only real hiccup for her character progression was this month's issue (#13) with Lady Shiva. The relationship between the two is always complicated. However, I feel it's forgotten the reasons why Cass/Steph bonded so well together. Their fathers are both monsters.
Tumblr media
Lady Shiva and Cass is untapped potential. Instead of the usual "murder mom" cliche tropes that we see with Red Arrow/Shado, Lian/Cheshire, and Talia/Damian I truly feel there is an opening here for the two to be different and respective toward one another.
Likewise, Shiva escaping the trap of being stuck in this dragonlady trope she's been stuck in since the 90s (with Simone, Rucka, Puckett, Hill, and Taylor) being the few who broke those shackles put upon the character.
That is why I hope for 2023 that DC doesn't falter into this simplistic trap. Going for the "troubled" story with the character in Hush along with Young Justice. Focusing on this monster not digging into the layers this character has to give.
Tumblr media
That said, Batgirls while having a bumpy start really got going with #9. The writers felt more comfortable with all the characters involved and it wasn't burden to any of the trio.
All I ask for 2023 is ironing out the rogues the Batgirls creators give a few more pathos along with a better motives to for the evils that they do to the city. I feel there's still potential for some of these newbies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But in truth I want the return of this bastard. David Cain needs to return. While I did love the dimensions he had in Batgirl Vol. 1. I feel maybe a leap into some hard villainy is needed for the character. A fear of him going "soft" due to accidentally loving his daughter.
Tumblr media
Or continue on with a "twisted" variant of his love for Cass theme. Something at least.
While Batgirls was middling, Cass found better more memorable appearances outside said ongoing in other places. Some more surprising then others.
I think the two biggest places of these was in Joker ongoing by James Tynion IV that concluded this year and Batman One Bad Day: Two-Face #1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both characterizations gave us a more mature Cass (if the younger version in Batgirls scared off longtime readers). One could feel the more "everything is canon" pathos DC started in 2020 with these appearances of Cass here.
This is a Cass that you know can drop someone easily and holds back purposely. She's scary, and it's nice seeing her interacting with characters she hasn't (in canon) for years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In truth though writer Mariko Tamaki spent most of 2022 shoe-horning Cass into anything Bat-related she wrote this year. I'm enterally 🙏for th at.
Continuing off the story she wrote of the character in 2021's DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Celebration #1.
Tamaki shows in the various appearances (mostly Tec) how she gets Cass (even if it was kind of funny seeing artists drawing various forms of Cass's costume in these issues).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But these weren't the only places Cass showed up in. She was in the "old stand bys" Batman, Nightwing, Robin (Damian and Tim's), and Batman: Urban Legends (never forgetting that page. NEVER because it has many layers to it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But we had other places you'd never expect Cass in. We had her in the Flash (I still can't believe we got that) and--- SCOOBY DOO?!
Yeah, that is something I wasn't expecting. 😮
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But these are nice fun little appearances. Though I feel her biggest "guest spot" other than Batman was here. Which allowed many answers to Jason being the "greatest fighter" of the Bat-Family from Task Force Z.
Tumblr media
Though personally I found the appearance "alright". Nothing like Tamaki or Tynion's.
But that was all the tip of the Cass iceberg as she appeared in stuff outside the main comics too. DCeased continues to be a place where I never thought in my wildest imaginations I ever see a Cass like this. Nor ever getting a solo cover of the character (coming next month).
Tumblr media
Dark Knights of Steel was the sneakiest Cass appearance ever as I didn't even realize it until someone said, "No she's in the issue." Tom Taylor is such a sneak cause we all now are hype for when she's gonna cut loose.
Tumblr media
Then there's Batman: Wayne Family Adventures which gives us SOOO much Cass and an absolute BANGER of a story arc with the character earlier this year.
Tumblr media
Probably the most disappointing multiverse Cass appearance was DC vs. Vampires. It started off strong making you think (oh hey Cass has a role in this and OH SHE'S ALIVE) before the second half came in July and whatever progress we had earlier fell off.
Tumblr media
But I'll be frank, while DC vs. Vampires was disappointing it was nowhere near the car crash that was Future State Gotham #15-18, which concluded it's alternate future story of Gotham.
Tumblr media
This story was a dumpster fire. Probably the worst Batman story of the year and I feel like only a few of us know of its crazy ass tale it gave us. I'm still in shock how everyone was wasted in this ongoing save Jason and Talia.
Jace the freaking co-star of this ongoing comic did NOTHING in that final arc save job and hard to everyone.  Everyone else in the family was equally was a waste and-- if you didn't hate Dick Grayson in Batgirls #7-8 you'll loathe him so much here.
Literally me the entire time reading this arc on Dick.
Tumblr media
Quite possibly one of the worst stories Cass was ever involved in. I hate it was so utterly predictable in that regard for her entire appearance in the story.
Then there's the real surprise. The surprise NO ONE saw coming. Bat Wheels. Cassandra Cain is in another cartoon. One aimed at an even younger audience.
Tumblr media
Though her costume has allusions to Babs and is kidified. The character is there. We haven't gotten much with the character (three episodes), but she's something else when on.
Some have said she isn't Cass, but other than the costume you can't really say much else because there isn't much layers to the character here save girl teen. But the last episode she appeared in facing off against Harley.
There was a tease to the Batgirl moniker being a legacy role and Cass wasn't living up to snuff. It got under her skin (much like the entire episode Bibi was bullied by Jestah).
Tumblr media
Both overcoming the bullying.  It was a really fun episode. I truly hope for a bit more Bibi centric episodes cause that means more Cass. 😋
Young Justice also had Cass but felt more padding characterization that should've been there to begin with. Such as this version of Cass knowing sign language to talk now.
Tumblr media
Likewise on the actual show she appeared at Conner/M'ggan's wedding with Babs and okay, if we have a Season 5 she's gotta be Batgirl in it right? RIGHT?!
Tumblr media
But yeah, I kind of wish we got the sign language knowledge in her arc from last year. But again, those episodes were stacked, but again that could've saved Artemis some time yelling at Cass's motives in part 2.
Tumblr media
All and all, this was another stellar year for Cass. I think the only real "bumps" was #7-8 in Batgirls, Future State: Gotham (which most forgot but I will NEVER FORGET), and DC vs. Vampires being so-- lackluster.
Other than that we got MORE Cass merch with TWO official shirts celebrating AAPI (Audrey Mok for Batgirls aka the pic I started this all with and Jen Bartel on Nightwing).
Tumblr media
NOW... If only 2023 gave us some figures or statues. *glares at McFarlane*
Tumblr media
And so... #CAINAISSANCE2022 ends with hope. Here's to #CAINAISSANCE2023 continuing the highs started three years ago. So far, it appears we will. Batgirls #14 next month (Cass focused silent issue) and so much more to come it seems.

"Why are you questioning Henry being the big bad of the series when the show and the Duffers have outright been telling you it's been him who has been doing this all this time ?"
Because apart from it still not making any sense plus creating inconsistencies and annoyed that the supposed big bad of the show targeted towards the outcasts, (no matter how badly written I think he is or even if he was good), is an outcast that's been abused and experimented upon for many years (along with him probably fitting in certain marginalized groups) is not a pleasant answer or a satisfying one to one of the most interesting sci-fi shows from the recent times. (With also other interesting themes fitting into it as well.) Especially if it's to give me a "Joker" speech about society which doesn't really make much sense with all of what was explored in the series and with some characters...
Broken villain are nice here and there but I largely prefer that we get to what and who is the real problem instead of creating a threatening scapegoat for the good guys to overcome & go about their life telling us "this is not the way to change things", yeah no shit Sherlock...
And like The Duffers have been lying and been inconsistent now since S4 has been in the works. I am not going to fully rely on everything they say to be sure of where the show is going exactly. (Especially when they FORGET about details that could serve their own stories.)
The fact that the people who say this, that I've seen, are people who themselves are questioning something that can be considered one & done in the show baffles me. Just let people do theories & analyses and if you don't like them move on. We are on Tumblr, questioning everything that we see is literally what we do and have been doing unless it's very obvious which it isn't in this case here. You are doing to people exactly what people who take everything the show says at face value says to you all the time... 😒
And it also has been the point of Stranger Things, a show that has characters lie many time, solving mysteries, going through layers of discovery and lately dealing things related to the mind & illusions, so I don't know what's the fuss about all of this but creating a vendetta against it is so weird to be honest.
So yeah I'll keep questioning whether Henry is the big bad or not, whether M*leven is really in love or not, whether Will was at the wrong place wrong time, and if his birthday was really forgotten by the narrative, whether x;y;z character is going to come back to life or not, whether Kali is going to come back or not, whether Lonnie is more than just a deadbeat dad or not, whether there's a deeper connection between El & Will or not, whether the Russia that we see is real or not, whether everything we see in the show is even what it really appears as and I will do it all over again & again because that's what I like and want to do. You don't agree, cool, you have your own opinions but if you want to go to war over it, just f*ck off. 🙄 And my mind will probably change about certain things over time or not, just like many other people.
Crazy you have to say this but like this is in need because the community is becoming exactly what I hate on other apps or websites, a puritanical self-righteous cult that doesn't hesitate targeting anyone who thinks a little bit differently. Reminds me of something I KNOW all of a sudden... 😒

Thank you so much for the comic recs!! I'm just getting started on my Batfam reading journey so this is super helpful, and I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on your current reads once you're further along. On a related (but opposite) note, anything you'd say to steer well clear of, like run for the hills, hazard sign attached, avoid if at all possible? (for example, I know All-Star Batman & Robin is something I shouldn't read outside of morbid fascination)
yeah ofc! getting into comics, in my experience, was super fun and sort of overwhelming because there's so much content lol, so i hope you're enjoying it and i'm happy to help however i can :)
OMG all-star batman and robin, i still need to read that to satisfy my own curiosity, but perfect example.
so okay, i have three runs + one arcs, but i'm going to preface this by saying, read whatever you want. all three runs and one arc, i read going into it knowing they were absolute messes, but i wanted to experience it for myself. i would say to not read these first, if possible, if you choose to read them because they're just not great intros to the characters and they're not great stories, imo. lose-lose
Red Hood and the Outlaws 2011 (New 52). if you like kory and/or roy, this will be torture. if you don't know who they are, please god do not meet this iteration of them first. but if you're interested in jason, maybe you want to read it because he's there! i get that. but. there's very little, if anything, in rhato 2011 that you'll learn about jason that isn't reiterated in rhato 2016/doesn't get flat out retconned in rebirth. for example, in rhato 2011, his origin story is him stealing from leslie's clinic. that wasn't his preboot origin, and his origin gets retconned back to his preboot origin of stealing the tires off the batmobile. most of rhato 2011 just had me like ???? so bad. just so bad.
Teen Titans 2011 (New 52). full transparency- i did not even finish this run. at some point, i will probably drag myself back to it and force myself through it, but oh god. no one felt like themself. everything was wrong. i like tim's n52 red robin costume, and that's about it. i'm also not sure how much if any of this run is currently relevant in canon so like, even less reason to put yourself through it.
Tim Drake: Robin 2022. i have nothing nice to say. wait. no i do. it got some really cool variant covers. i don't want to bash the art, because i have enjoyed this artist's style in other comics, so i'm just going to be diplomatic and say it was a horrible match/fit. . as far as the writing...no, just no. this is one of 2 pieces of fitzmartin's writing that i've read and so i don't want to speak too harshly, but i really didn't like it. this whole run makes me so sad ngl. dc canonized tim's bisexuality and then supported it with this? bro. c'mon. there's already so many homophobic comic readers, they didn't need to give them "it's bad writing" ammo. genuinely would love to know the though process behind the production of this comic
the infamous Ric Grayson era, Nightwing 2016 #50-74. i just read this. i've legit been putting it off since august. it is so mind-numbingly boring for 85% of the run, first off. this is literally how most of the issues go: "i was shot in the head. i don't remember anything after the night my parents died. they told me i used to a hero. nightwing. i don't remember that. or them. they act like they love me, but it feels fake. i don't want to remember them. i'm happier this way." and then he starts running around, superheroing with a slash of black greasepaint across his face because that is just a+ identity protection and regular clothes because superhero costumes totally only serve visual purposes. and it does all get resolved in the STUPIDEST WAY, but not before the joker takes control of him and has him referring to/responding to “dickie-boy”- reading this i was either bored out of my mind or dying from the cringe. all that’s relevant is a) he lost his memories, b) he gets them back, and c) he had a girlfriend, bea. i knew all of this before i subjected myself to this run. but now i can say i’ve read every nightwing run woooooo. my LCS (local comic store) guy has been trying to get me to read it as a “rite of passage” and he was so entertained when i came in and was like “i read ric” 😐🧍suffice it to say, i do not envy the nightwing fans who had to go through that in real time. i love travis moore’s art but it was not enough to save this arc
as for my thoughts on my current readings, i post those under the tag #cue first read reactions! they’re usually not all that in-depth tbh, just me freaking out haha. if you’re comfortable, my dms are open!
tysm for your ask + i hope you have as much fun reading batfam comics as i do!!

Okay, so, let’s pretend I didn’t do that.
Plot twist: Sam leapt into DARPA at some point during the original show.
“Look, I have to find a needle in a haystack, just bear with me.” “Ian, it’s been like three months.”
Addison was disassociating, you cannot correct me.
Abridged version: “You think Addison is okay?” “The fuck do you think?”
“Wait, I found Ben- oh fuck, he’s in Jersey.”
Dude, just pee in a bottle, it’s 1970.
“I am not gonna run on you,” says the guy who is going to run on you.
Okay, thank fucking God, I thought Ben was gonna fall for that.
Look, after you retire from the police force, you either find a different hobby, or you just spontaneously combust.
What the fucking kind of last name is Zatt?
So of course Kevin dying is the bad history…
“I can’t be here just to put Kevin in jail.” Ben, you of all people should know that Kevin can fuck himself.
[I have been waiting the entire show to do that.]
“You take your eyes off this guy for on second, he’s gone.” And cue him breaking the toilet.
“This is all a misunderstanding!” “Yeah, and my name is Sam Beckett, pick a new lie.”
Kevin is supposed to be Saul Goodman, isn’t he…
Ben, maybe if you shove him out of the car right now, that is the good ending for the leap…
Annnnnd car chase!
Why is 1970 New Jersey experiencing the Dust Bowl?
[“Okay, Ben rolled the car, cue the credits, fucking hurry!”]
And it’s on fire!
…Ben, come on, man…
Oh, shit, Kevin actually decided to save him, nevermind.
“Whelp, the car exploded, let’s just- (cuff’d)” “FUCKING REALLY?!”
Look, all Ben needs to do is ram his shoulder into a heavy solid object, it’ll pop back in.
It would be an amazing plot twist if Kevin is the reason the Evil Leaper Project never showed up in this show, just by calling a guy…
Kevin, you are pulling at threads you have no right to be pulling at, it is taking Addison everything in her power to not start swearing.
“…hey, I know I was asking personal questions and shit, but why are you talking to a ghost?”
Kevin, you deserve to get shot at.
“What made you such a cynic.” “I just told you I have a brother.”
Why is Kevin trying to steal a teddy bear?
Is Hannah on the bus?
“I’m an optimist. Not an idiot.” Mic drop.
CALLED IT
Man, Addison picks the worst fucking times to watch the TV…
Annnnnd Addison had mentally decided to go for the tequila.
“So, for three years, I think Ben is dead.” You can just tell that Magic internally went “Okay, here we fucking go…”
Addison is about to go into her Joker arc.
Okay, that cowboy is too cool looking to be in this show.
Okay, with luck, Ben relocated his shoulder with that stunt.
…okay, the bloody shoulder is not a good sign…
Okay, calling it now, Kevin is about to lead Ben to Hannah.
My Brother, The Doctor
Okay, so the leap is getting Ben medical attention, and the sibling shit is a side benefit, got it.
Honestly, I think your nephew would get a kick out of seeing you cuffed.
Okay, getting a gun to the face, off to a good start.
CONFIRMED: Quantum Leap takes place in the same universe as A Christmas Story. I can now justifiably pitch a leap where Sam or Ben has to deal with the leg lamp.
Okay, to be fair, they had to say it. You can’t not do the “you’ll shoot your eye out” but with that gun.
I admire how much anger Ben had to choke down in order to agree to Kevin’s bullshit alibi.
I love how the brother immediately reveals he didn’t buy that shit.
Okay, somehow I knew there was a real reason he got passed over for valedictorian…
“Sorry I’m late!” Hannah, you did that intentionally, and you didn’t even know it.
“Hey, Nick, stop disassociating, it’s potato time.”
Okay, I am now convinced that somehow, that is actually Ben’s kid.
“You’re a scientist, Hannah?” “She was buddies with Einstein, and saw a man punch a Nazi.” “Wow, I can only imagine how cool that guy was, he was probably ripped.”
“You’re the chair.” I AM THE TABLE-
Josh is a Rutgers man, can relate. I am so sorry.
Okay, does Hannah know she’s talking to Ben?
“Josh, what’s Rutgers like?” Waterboarding.
Okay, now she knows.
[Fuck it, why not, Part 3.]

Ranking The Doctor Incarnations by How Much I’d Get Along with Them
A/N: my obsession with doctor who is back!!! I’m waiting on the new episodes and it’s actually killing me. I put off watching the last 15 minutes of 13s last episode to wait for the specials then couldn’t hold off on watching all of the specials in my excitement so I have no more media to rely on:( ALSO this is nuwho I explain it every doctor who post bc I feel like it needs to be said that I still haven’t watched classic who.
Tw:some cursing, some sexual mentions, some bullying lmao
Wc:its rankings and headcanons idfk babes
Doctor Who Masterlist
This is going to go from who I’d get along with most to least <3
1) Eleven
Okay so he wasn’t my first doctor or the doctor I started liking the show for
That was nine <3
But when I do daydream about being the doctors companion he is the one that becomes the default in my mind
Like I think I’d get along with him the most
I have no idea why it’s just if I’m daydreaming he is the one whose arms I run into
He’s the one I’m fighting for
And it might sound insane but I just know in my heart that if I had to be a companion of any of the doctors I’d be his.
I also do think that there would be a romantic aspect but it would be because I’d have a big honkin crush on him and I’d bully him for it
Like EWWWWW him? He has cooties. Weird alien cooties that I don’t want on me HMPH.
He just seems sweet and chaotic and the most fun to be around
I also think he would dance around the console room with me.
Like we’d be absolute fools together I think we would give ten x rose vibes like not the romance just the comfortable vibe between the two (and maybe romance if he likes me <3)
2) Fifteen
I know he’s new
But HOLY HELL
He gives off bestie vibes
And I know with his whole “luck and coincidences are a new language that I’m learning” thing
Sorry I forgot exactly what he says and I’m writing this while watching another show
Is right up my alley
Like YES
This is chaos and it’s fun and he already seems more….relatable?
Maybe it’s the tism
But like he’s who I would want to go on an adventure on.
Like oopsies my bad forgot we were on The same team in this game
Lemme just casually get trapped in a giant snowman balloon thing(I forgot what they’re called)
Then tell the police that it’s literally fine and that I’m busy
It would be VERY fun to be with him based on what I’ve seen
Would also dance around the console room with me
Nine
I think we’d get along greatly when it comes to the silly things
But with the more serious things I think we’d have a falling out
Because unlike the other companions I am not here to make you better
I will make you worse
Like when Rose stopped him from killing that Dalek in the beginning
I would been like 👀 okay you killing him or not. That beef has nothing to do with me I won’t stop you from getting revenge
Mostly bc I am the type of person that believes in revenge instead of “being the better person”
Like letting them go means letting them continue causing mayhem
Like TAKE THEM OUT
Like not to get off topic but Batman annoys me bc why arrest the joker or the penguin again and again and again
When you could literally save tons of people by getting rid of them
Would probably be mad at me after like “now why tf would you let me do that????”
“Idk you wanted to so??????”
Maybe I would make him a softer person but overall I’m just along for the ride like brother YOU know everything I am just here
Ten
I love him with all my heart
But he would piss me off
Like we would get along
But if there’s any feelings involved he would just make this insufferable if he doesn’t like me enough to stop comparing me to rose
I am a tenmartha believer fight me
Don’t fight me I’ll cry
But like he sorta seems kinda….thoughtless when it comes to poc and it’s not in a purposefully offensive way but like I said it’s thoughtless
If it’s a world where rose didn’t exist, or she didn’t impact him like she did I feel like he would be sweeter
But also more of a fuck boy
I do think he has romantic compatibility with almost everyone so again that would be a problem or fine depending on how he reacts
That’s why he’s this low because I feel like it GREATLY depends on his moods and it’s sorta unpredictable for me.
Thirteen
She kinda had a “I know everything and you know nothing” attitude that I didn’t enjoy
And that would make us have a big falling out because while I am the type of person to follow almost mindlessly
I hate it when people speak to me as if I’m dumb it’s one of my pet peeves
But other than that I think we’d get along fine
Like I feel like it would be mostly fun with her other than the “im better than you” thing she has going on
Like I feel like getting to see Rosa parks
And the one where they go to the vacation planet
And the whole competition that was the first like travel thing
Like while I didn’t like the writing of the episodes that much I thought it looked really fun!!
She would be fun to be around especially with her awkwardness
Like I feel like how socially awkward she is makes everything better because it would be me and her traveling and neither one of us understand social cues properly
Like EVERYONE is gonna be uncomfortable
Super funny
Twelve
While I LOVVVVVVVE twelve with all my heart
I do not think he would be fond of me
Like he likes people that ask the right questions like Clara and Bill are VERY intelligent and curious and clever people
And I’m not
So I think he wouldn’t really enjoy my presence
Like the others could get over my personality
I feel like he would be unable to
Like he’d find me boring and uninteresting and maybe not unworthy of his time but he wouldn’t find traveling with me fun
He’d be like “wHY do you NOT ask the important things??????”
I would also fall in love with him and he’d be like “oh….no…..no thank you…...”
Fourteen
Is literally just ten but sad and old?
But also learning to love himself?
I feel like they’re the same but fourteen is wiser and less self absorbed?
Which means he should probably be higher
But I still have the belief that they are one in the same
So it doesn’t really matter that he’s last because it evens out?

My Reclamation AU (canon divergent) summary for context
Prequel or S1: This starts at the very beginning where Batman has just started his vigilante career, likewise Joker and his villain career. It’s just Joker and Batman quickly climbing the ranks of recognition, and essentially reestablishing the Gotham mythos with the other rogues (I reserved a few for later down the timeline). Harley and Robin are the main side characters. I purposefully made it so Joker doesn’t ever have enough time to kill Jason or cripple/handicap Barbra, and although I left in the part where he terrorizes people, he doesn’t do it so often enough for that to be his main identifier (still pretty memorable & bad). Eventually Batman realizes the way he fights crime is not as effective, and Joker realizes he can’t protect himself from losing more than he has already lost. This entire narrative accumulates to the end where they make a deal. If Joker can go through the process of rehabilitation but still come out as “evil” or uncontrollably “insane,” then Batman will back off of helping him for good once and for all. If Batman can go through this ordeal of actually helping but goes back on his word for whatever reason, then Joker would make sure he regrets it. (There is no romance here, just obsession).
Main story or S2:Joker begins his rehabilitation while Bruce Wayne starts reconstructing Arkham Asylum from within. Batman and Bruce Wayne both visit Arkham. (I still haven’t figured out what specific activities Batman is doing yet). Jason gets adopted somewhere around here in the timeline.
Joker eventually gets released, creating a new alter ego to test his ability to play a “normal” citizen (based after the Amnesiac!Joker) (Jack Napier). Bruce gets into doing a sorta neighborhood check where he checks for any potential renovations (not gentrification dw) (idk if that’s a real job but it’s narratively important, so). (I might put this in Part 1 instead). Batman and Joker (+ Jack and Bruce) go through certain events that push them (and others) closer, and eventually leads them into officially getting together (also publically) (romantically). (It’s a slow burn romance).
Sequel or S3: I haven’t thought of any specific plot points, so it’s just there. Batman and Joker (Jack and Bruce) healthy relationship stuff i guess (it takes me lots of effort to think about romance so feel free to fill in the blank). Using this to flesh out the rest of the Batfam, and some rouges stuff too. Once I gather all of the Batfam is when this story ends in my mind. (I have not thought about them being grandparents but feel free to be inspired to).
Okay I think that’s it. Context over, from here on out I’m just gonna say stuff and tag it “My Reclamation AU.” Feel free to ask questions if anyone actually reads this and cares to. Feel free to also discuss redemption relating to Batman stuff with me (no guarantee I’ll know everyone or everything). (Legally you can’t talk to me about NSFW stuff).
