there was a brief moment when the world stilled. the air was squeezed from your lungs as everything around you slowly began to spin and you weren’t sure the last time you had slept – had it been that long that the hallucinations were finally starting to kick in?
“oh my god.” those were the only words you could utter in your state of disbelief. you couldn’t close your eyes: you couldn’t risk him disappearing. if you were brave enough, you’d reach out to trace the new scars carved into his porcelain skin.
“you can’t say that, you know how my ego is,” gojo looked as gorgeous as ever, arm raised as he leant against the doorframe of his apartment. the same apartment you’d set up camp in nineteen days ago and had only left when yuuji brought you some food. you’d lost too much to process and you were a shell of the person gojo had kissed goodbye to before he left for shibuya. there were deep purple bags under your eyes, your hair was loosely tied back in a messy bun that probably hadn’t been properly washed or brushed in several days and your clothes were probably just gojo’s – you’d been desperate for some sense of familiarity.
he looked like he hadn’t just been sealed away in another realm. the only evidence of a struggle were his new scars that seemed to decorate every inch of available skin, beyond that he looked excited to be alive, his fitted clothes clinging to him. his cursed energy was terrifyingly immense and you knew him well enough to know he was still riding off of a high that came with fighting for him.
you were scared to ask who had been the opponent – never would the world’s strongest sorcerer be injured and not cause equal amounts of harm in return. he had a title to uphold after all, something to prove.
“not even a hello?” he shook his head, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he tsked you. he was so casual in his mannerisms, playing it all off as though he hadn’t spent what felt like an eternity counting down the seconds so that he could see you again. “you can’t have forgotten me that quickly.” he was practically whining now, desperate for the love and warmth you gave him but not daring to cross the threshold and smother you.
you weren’t a sorcerer and though you understood some of his world, there was so much more that you didn’t. gojo would be lying if he said he wasn’t scared that one day it would be too overwhelming for you and you’d leave him like everyone else had.
so he did what he did best: masked his insecurities with a sarcastic humour that held no bite: “don’t tell me there’s another man in the house.”
you smiled, and blinked, and you were suddenly here again; in the moment with him and not a thousand miles away wondering what the hell he’d been through. a lone tear slipped down your cheek and gojo ached to wipe it away.
“are you… are you real?” your voice was still shaky and if it wasn’t for the complete silence, you doubted that he would’ve been able to hear you.
but he did, and then his arm is up against the doorframe again and he was gesturing to his physique as he complimented himself, “super powerful, mega rich and dashingly handsome? i know how perfect i may seem but i’m very real.” he winked and suddenly it was like you remembered that you have free will, practically jumping into his arms.
gojo wasn’t phased as he tucked you tightly into his body, his cursed technique completely dropped for the first time in what felt like forever. his body breathed a sigh of relief as his muscles ached.
“you’re such a jackass,” you lifted up your head to rest against his chest, eyes shining with tears that didn't fall.
gojo nodded slowly, brushing back the loose strands of your hair as he stared at you adoringly, “you love me.”
“mhmm,” you hummed, taking a step back from his longing arms to look up at him through your lashes. “y’know,” you traced a finger across the material on his chest, “you could make it up to me by closing your eyes.” his breath hitched ever so slightly under your touch. you leant in so that your lips almost touched his ear, “i need to kick my boytoy out. things could get kinda awkward if you two saw each other.”
it would be easier to list the things gojo wouldn’t do for you. he squeezed his eyes tightly shut, even going as far as to hold a hand over them. “how pretty is he on a scale of 1-10?”
there was a pause before you responded, as you took in every inch of the man that stood before you. a god in a mortal’s body. one that lived and breathed and worshipped you. “he’s gorgeous,” you whispered, breathless simply from his existence alone. and then he’s smiling and laughing and picking you up, spinning you in a circle and telling you how much he loves you and for a few brief seconds he’s just satoru and you’re just his.

"Wish I didn't have to go back to work," Andy tucks his shirt in as he enters the kitchen, "mmm, something smells good."
"Oh, I found the waffle maker," you say proudly. Admittedly, you've made a mess. Your tablet displays the recipe as a bowl sits next to it dripping batter. "I thought it would be a nice start to the day."
"How long have you been awake?" His expression falls, "dove, you've been... very busy lately. I'm worried."
"Why?" You bat your lashes. Yes, you've been a bit all over, always trying to distract yourself. It helps you keep your mind off of the cramped nights and sleepless hours. "Dr. Kemp wants me to set goals."
"Yes, I know. And it's good advice but you can take a day off," he suggests.
"Maybe," you shrug and hide your disappointment. You thought he'd be happy. You're doing what he wants too. He wants you to give back and you're trying to take care of him the best way you know how. You've never tried this hard in your life but he doesn't seem to see that.
"Here," you turn and take a plate of waffles, "I also cut up some fruit," you put it on the island near him and grab the bowl of strawberries and blueberries, "and syrup."
You bring the bottle of dark maple and a set of cutlery for him. He sits on one of the high chairs and accepts them with a thanks. Despite his admonishment, he looks delights. You step back on your heel and watch him. As he cuts into the fluffy stack, he pauses and looks at you.
"What about you?"
"Oh, I'll eat when you're gone," you assure him, "I'm not hungry yet."
He inhales and takes his first bite. He chews it slowly, his thought tensing in his jaw, "promise you will. Dove... I see you pushing your food around."
"I don't have a problem," you say defensively. He doesn't know how you used to be. How you would binge so much you nearly puked. So you miss a meal or two, it's better than the alternative.
"I think it's something you should discuss in therapy? Just to be certain," he offers.
"It's not," you insist. "I'm fine--"
"Then sit down and eat with me. That's what couples do. They eat together," he points his fork at you, "and don't forget a kiss before I go."
You watch him for a moment. You don't tell Steve about these arguments, you only tell him what you learn. What you're doing to be better. You'll tell him you know now that you should eat with Andy and give him a kiss goodbye. That's something, you suppose.
"I'm sorry, Andy," you murmur and put a waffle on a plate for yourself.
"Don't be sorry, just do better, honey," he says.
"Alright," you turn back to him as you grab a fork and knife. You go around the island to sit next to him. You poke at the waffle and cut off a small piece.
"And... you can call me honey, too. Would you?"
You nod, "okay..." you hover the fork in front of your mouth as your stomach mulches, "honey."
🕊️
You spend much of the day painting. Your attempts at napping were met with tossing and turning as your mind kept wandering to the nights ahead and those behind you. Andy's touches aren't as unusual as before, you can lay still, close your eyes, let him kiss you. But he doesn't like it when you stop him from doing more.
Your back aches as you hunch forward on the stool. You know it's a bad position but you don't care. You lean in, nose almost touching the canvas as you focus on a feather.
You yawn and swipe the brush against your palette. You sway slightly, eyes nearly rolling back. You should try to nap before–
"How's it going, Dove?" Andy startles you as his shadow fills the door.
You turn, shivering in the airy garage as you lower the brush. You blink at him, for a moment thinking he might be a walking dream. You shake your head, no he's real and times slipped past you again.
You set down your palette and hug yourself. It's as if the day was a fog and it's only just clearing. You give a sheepish smile as Andy stays at the top of the steps.
"Tired?" He says, "oh, wow, you got a lot done."
"Yeah, uh… a lot," you agree hoarsely.
"Come on, you're asleep on your feet, sit down. I was thinking of ordering some pizza. I've been craving it," he beckons to you. You're glad he's in a good mood.
"Alright, I'll just clean up," you turn and rinse off your brush, "see ya inside."
"I can do that–"
"No, no, I'm… a bit particular about my brushes," you mutter, "I'll be in soon…honey."
"Alright, don't make me come find you," he kids as he backs up.
You're thankful he's appeased. You're too exhausted for him to be smothering you again. You just want to zone out.
You clean your brushes and palette off and place them away neatly. You rub your hands together as you climb the two steps inside and close the door behind you. As you pass the kitchen, Andy calls after you.
"Hey," you enter as he twists a knob on the stove.
"Making you some tea," he says, "you look cold. Why didn't you turn on the heater?"
"Didn't think of it," you drag your feet, legs heavy, "tea sounds nice."
"Some of that stuff Steve brought," he sniffs and gives a shrug, "you really seemed to like it."
"Sounds good," you lean on the counter and cup your chin.
"You can have it while we decide on toppings," he smiles, "you like pineapple on your pizza?"
"I'm not picky," you answer.
"I'm asking what you like, sweetie."
"Just cheese," you reply, "sorry."
"Don't be sorry," he comes around the island and cradles your head along the side, bending to kiss your crown, "go, relax, I'll bring the tea out to you."
"Thank you," you sidle away slowly.
You go into the living room and nestle into the corner of the couch, hugging your legs as you try to warm up. You watch the window, the grey sky dimming with the onset of the autumnal evening. You lean your head back and groan.
When Andy comes in, he plunks your cup down and sits heavily next to you. You look at him as he grabs the remote.
"Why don't you put something on?" He holds it out to you.
"Um, is there a game tonight?" You wonder.
"Don't worry about it. I'm not in the mood."
"Oh, alright," you take the remote and flip on the tv.
"Whatever you want," he leans back, one arm across the couch above you as he keeps his phone in his other.
You browse the television shows, thinking of trying something new. Your eyes drift thoughtlessly as he thumbs at the screen. He hums, "just cheese?"
"Yeah, that's good."
"Alright, I want you to finish two slices at least," he says.
You frown but don't argue. You don't appreciate his concern for your eating habits. Pizza is a lot and greasy. You reach for your tea and continue to search through titles.
You hear a bing and glance over again, certain not to move your head. You see the notification just before Andy swipes it away from the top of the screen. 'Cloud recordings full.'
You don't think anything of it. You don't know what that means. You click on a show you always saw Amber watching.
"Good choice," he says as he puts his phone down, "all ordered. With garlic knots too."
"Mm, sounds good," you blow on the tea, the smell of maple comforting, "thank you… er, honey."
"Of course," he kisses your head again as he drops his arm onto your shoulders, "the tea will help tide you over until it gets here."
🕊️
The pizza comes as the drowsiness tugs at your eyes. You feel sluggish as Andy brings you a plate with two slices. You chew as you stare at the bleary television, the audio garbling as you struggle to down each bite.
You finish with a painfully full stomach. Andy clears your plate with his and says something you don't catch. You feel so out of it. You've never felt like this before.
Andy comes back with two bottles of beer uncapped. You squint at him, sure you're seeing double. It must be the lack of sleep.
"Here," he holds one out as he sits next to you.
"Oh, I don't…" you eke out.
"One won't hurt, sweetie," he winks, "it's already open."
You rub your eyes before reaching out to take one. It's cold and the glass condensates beneath your palm. You sniff the open neck and make a face. It smells awful.
"Taste better than it looks," he clinks his bottle against yours.
You open your eyes wide, fighting the weight around them. You lean the bottle against your lips and make yourself take a drink. As much as you want to spit it out, you choke down the wheaty acidic liquid.
"You get used to it," he chuckles and takes a hearty swig.
"Mmm," you grumble, "I am very tired…"
"You go to bed early every night," he rests his hand on your knee, "worked all day just looking forward to being with you, honey."
You frown and nod, taking another repulsive gulp. It's nasty but you don't want to waste it. And you don't want him to be upset. Again.
"Finish your beer and you can go lay down," he says, "okay, sweetie."
"Alright," you look at the bottle, a tall task as each taste is worse than the last. "Thank you."
He keeps his hand on your leg. You notice how it slips higher along your thigh as you sip. You feel your body slackening and the sludgy fatigue turns to a bubbly blare.
You focus on the bottle, just wanting to go to bed. You empty it down to a small cluster of foam and sit forward to put it on the table. You miss and the bottle clanks on the floor. Andy chuckles and reaches to pick it up, setting it down with his own.
“Oh, honey,” he turns to you, “are you tipsy already?”
“Andy,” you breathe, “I don’t feel good.”
“You drank that too fast,” he laughs again, pushing his arm behind you, “here, I got you, baby.”
You close your eyes as he swoops his other arm under your knees and the whole world shifts as he lifts you. Your head lolls against his shoulder as he holds you against his chest. His scent seeps into your nostrils as the motions of his gait lulls you.
He climbs the stairs carefully as you lean into him. Your head swirls strangely. You’ve never felt like this. Your eyeballs feel funny and your stomach is airy.
You open your eyes again as he enters the bedroom. He tuts, amused by your state as he lays you on his bed. He hushes you as you babble dumbly.
“I’ll get you some pajamas, just relax,” he coos, dragging his hand down your side and kneading your thigh.
He leaves you as you obey him. Not out of your will, but because you have no choice. You can’t fight this eerie heaviness. The sludge of time and space that smothers you.
He returns, a blurry smear of colours as he moves around the room. He tosses something light beside you and bends over you. He runs his hands from your hips and around your back as he sits you up. You bobble as you struggle to hold your head up.
“Here,” he tugs on your shirt, bringing it up your torso.
Instinctively you catch it and try to keep him from revealing anymore. He clucks and yanks until you nearly fall back. You drop your hands to keep yourself up.
“Honey, I’m helping, don’t be bad,” he warns as he continues to raise the fabric, “arms up. I got you a fresh set of pajamas.”
Your lashes droop down and cling to each other. You shakily raise your arms and he pulls your shirt off. He gulps loudly and his fingers flutter along your shoulders and down to your chest. He cups your tits and purrs.
“Sweetie, I… never got to say before but you’re so beautiful, you know that?”
You shoo his touch away and cross your arms. He sighs heavily and grips your hips. He pulls you down harshly so you land flat on your back. You squeak in surprise as you bounces against the bed.
He pops open the button of your jeans and curls his fingers beneath the denim. He rolls them down roughly, jolting you as he gets them past your feet. You shiver as you lay in only your underwear and bra, hugging yourself.
“Mmmm,” he sits beside you again, leaning over you as he plants his hand by your other side, “honey,” he runs his other hand down your arm and takes yours, moving it into his lap, “do you feel what you do to me?”
He presses your hand to the bulge in his pants. Your head turns side to side as your voice sticks in your throat. The flavour of the beer stains your tongue and chokes you. He bends closer and kisses you on the lips.
“I need you so bad,” he whispers as he pulls away, “but… I want you to feel it.”
He moves your hand off of him and shifts, dragging his other hand away from the bed and down the curves of your side. He trails kisses down your jaw and neck, further and further, lingering around your chest as he guides the straps of your bra down your arms.
He looses your tits and tends to them one at a time. Nipping, kneading, and suckling until your nipples are sensitive and hard. His lets his hand wander further down as he dotes on your chest, slipping his fingers beneath he elastic of your panties.
He lifts his head and exhales a scalding breath over you, “can I taste you? I need to taste you…”
“What?” You murmur as your head slumps to one side and your eyes shut, fuzzy and itchy.
You feel the bed jostle as his weight lifts and his touch drifts away. He urges your legs apart before he settles between them, the bed moving with him. Your panties roll down your legs and he bends your knees. You whine, confused about what he’s doing.
He growls and you feel his breath along your thigh. You twitch as he spreads his hands across your flesh and holds your legs open. Something cool delves into the warmth between your legs. You yelp as your eyes snap open.
You lift your head as it teeters on your neck and you see the top of Andy’s head by your pelvis. He runs his hands around your thighs, gripping the outside and pushing them flush to his face as he laps at your cunt. You whimper as you fall flat again, hiding behind your eyelids as the vision of him paints the void of your speckly mind.
What is he doing?

for you, there’ll be no more crying
There’s too much to do and only one you, and yet everything needs to be done today and no one seems to realize that they’re assigning you more work on top of what other people have already given you. You didn’t realize everything was so pressing, but here you are with a to do list as long as your arm filled with tasks to be completed ASAP.
You think that taking a break for lunch is a bad idea, honestly you’d rather sit at your desk and check some more things off your list, but HR insists that you have a thirty-minute break. It’s also shitty because your boyfriend works here too, but you’re not sitting with him today because by the time he got to the cafe, the only available space was all the way across the room. So here you are, tapping your foot as you force down a salad.
Chewing feels mechanical, each bite heavy in your mouth. You choke down a piece as your index finger taps on your thumb, counting down the minutes until you can rush back to your office. You can feel Helen from HR keeping an eye on you, and you don’t need to add a visit from her to you list.
“Oi, can you compile that list I emailed you about last week?” Stephanie from the front desk asks from across the table.
You give her a confused look. “What list?”
She returns your look. “The one I sent last Tuesday?”
You shake your head and say, “I never got that email.”
Stephanie frowns and pulls out her phone. “Oh, whoops, it’s in my drafts still.” She presses a button and says, “There, it’s sent!” with a cheerful grin, like that changes anything.
Your whole leg is shaking now, not just your foot. “When do you need it?” you ask carefully, willing her to say literally an other day but today.
“Oh, I need it by the end of the day,” she replies so you nod, all slow and mechanical.
You ask, “Can I get it to you tomorrow?” and she shakes her head.
“No, I really needed it done by today. You should have checked with me when you didn’t get my email on Tuesday.”
You don’t point out that it’s impossible to ask about an email you didn’t even know existed, mainly because Stephanie is best friends with Helen and you literally cannot deal with both of them today.
So instead you nod, fake a smile, and take another bite of salad as Stephanie gets up to leave.
The moment she’s gone, everything goes slow. And not in a good way.
You think, oh shit as the food in your mouth becomes tasteless and your gaze becomes fixated on a spot on the table.
Oh shit. Shit, shit, shit.
Liam notices and asks, “Are you alright?” in his too-loud voice, so now everyone in the cafe is looking at you as you take stuttered breaths around the salad in your mouth.
You’re confident that this couldn’t get any worse, but you can’t even answer Liam so he shakes your arm, causing you to jolt.
You press one hand to your heart as you try to catch a breath with all eyes still on you.
A hand presses a napkin to your mouth and says, “Spit,” but you don’t look up to see who it is. You’re stuck on that one spot on the table, unable to move anything except your leg. But you don’t need to look up to know who it is.
“Fuck off, Liam,” says Jamie and Liam does.
You’re told later that Jamie flips off anyone who’s still staring, but you miss it in the moment because it’s over your head.
“You alright, babe?” he asks gently, but you don’t respond. He slides into the seat Liam has vacated and grabs your hand. “Oi, look at me.”
His hands are warm in contrast to your cold ones, and the uses his one free hand to tilt your face toward his. You’re having a hard time making eye contact so he bends his head just enough so he’s in your line of sight.
“There you are,” he smiles, “You want to tell me what’s wrong or do you want me to guess?”
You just look, chest rising and falling way too fast.
“Right,” he says. “Let’s get your breathing under control. Breathe with me, yeah?”
You see the staff and team at Nelson Road filtering out of the cafe, so you focus on Jamie’s face and follow his breaths.
“Okay, keep going like that. What else can we talk about? Oi, did you hear what fucking Roy did this morning? The lad’s fucking insane, he is. Strings around dicks? Can’t believe I almost lost mine, and on date night no less.” He winks. “You’d‘ve had his head for sure, love.”
You crack a smile at that.
“Ey!” he says, “She lives!”
“I love you,” you tell him and he squeezes your hand.
“She fuckin’ talks, too. What a woman.”
You think of a few snide replies, but you’re not too sold on talking just yet so you settle for silence.
“Was it fucking Helen?” Jamie asks, “Bird’s more insane than Coach.”
You wiggle your head. Technically, it wasn’t just Helen, but she’s the one who’s been handing you the most assignments while also insisting on the stupidest breaks.
“Bet it were Stephanie too,” he continues. “Babe, you’ve gotta fucking talk to Higgins or Ms. Welton or some shit. They’re using you like some personal servant and it ain’t right.”
You shrug and Jamie squeezes your hand again. “None of that,” he says.
He’s not wrong.
It’s just you two, alone, so he allows himself a moment to cup your face in one hand. “You’re good, yeah?” he asks.
You take a deep breath and nod. “Yeah, I’m good.”
He grins and leans forward to kiss your forehead.
“D’you want to ditch the rest of the day?” he asks and you give him a Look.
You say, “I can’t ditch. I have too much to do and you can’t ditch because you have training.”
Jamie’s still grinning as he says, “Bet I could get out of it ‘cause of me injury and you could get out of it if you talked to Ms. Welton.”
“Absolutely not,” you reply, but he’s already standing up.
“Gonna talk to her about fucking Helen,” he says. “I’d bet my entire house that none of your shit is that big of an emergency.”
“No you won’t,” you call after him, “And anyway, she wouldn’t listen to you about any of it.”
Jamie’s basically already gone so he just shouts, “Ta,” as you sigh and get up to go back to your office.
An hour later, you’re in the car with Jamie as he laments your lack of faith in him. “Told you Helen’s full of shit,” he says. “You’re going to be way better at her job than she ever was.”
“The fuck, Jamie,” you reply. “I still can’t believe you made me talk to Rebecca.”
He shrugs, one hand on the wheel. “I’m a dead good boyfriend, is what I am.”
You laugh. He certainly is that.

Death by chocolate
Summary: testing sanjis patients leads to a very "sweet" punishment.
Tags: food play, mean dom sanji, no smut yet, unchecked for grammar and spelling, potentially incorrect French translation (I don't speak french)
You should have known better than to test the cook, thoughts of "How bad can it be?" or "What's the worst that could happen?" landed you a spot at the dining table in front of the world's favorite and most disgusting dessert, chocolate. He ignored every last sorry and plea of mercy, you've really pushed Sanji's buttons this time and he's making sure you're not going to do something like this again. It starts out with a simple layer of cake, decadent and fluffy maybe if you focused on the texture and not the flavor you could survive what you presume to be the first half of your torture.
Sanji cuts a small piece of the bottom layer holding it out for you to taste, hesitant doesn't begin to describe the churn in your stomach ot the red hot anxiety flashing though your veins. He's a patient man, you know the cook could sit at the table all day fork in hand if need be. You lean In close, eyes closed before your jaw is roughly grabbed and the cake is almost melting on your tongue.
"Chew and swallow it, I hope you're done playing dumb with me."
His tight grip on yout face loosened but he didn't let go, instead preparing another bite. This one was bigger than the first, gathering from the bottom 2 layers and the frosting between the two, you're thankful he isn't making you eat the top layer yet, the frosting was always your least favorite part.
Feeling you trying to shy away he tightens his grip, forcing your jaw open and placing the cake in your mouth before you have time to react or pull away. Cringing at the taste and texture of the desert he almost feels bad, almost, he has to remember your behavior today.
As much as your cook adored you and loved the fact that you clung to him like his shadow, distracting him from his responsibilities is one thing he doesn't tolerate. He feels the more you distracted him the longer it takes him to finish his given task, today was proof. Your pretty voice constantly whining his name, desperate for his attetion. Feeling over his body but just enough for your touch to still be deemed 'innocent'. Lewd comments both behind closed doors and in front of the crew, on top of having the audacity to continue when the cook asked you nicely to stop.
Your behavior immediately changed when you saw him gathering the ingredients to chocolate cake. Which is what landed you a spot here sitting at the kitchen table. Swallowing the thick peice of cake and frosting, you already see the next bite prepared. It's more frosting than cake it the top, and that's what he decided to tease tou with, holding it out just inches away from your lips. Sanji looks you in the eyes as you silently plead for him to at least slow down your rate of consumption. Sighing, he takes the bite himself, giving you less chocolate to worry about.
The melodic hum that left Sanji would be reserved in your memory for only your wettest of dreams, had it not been for your libido getting you in this spot in the first place, you would have pounced on his cock right then and there. Instead, you watch as he takes another bite for himself, then steps away from the table. You see him grab a bottle of port wine and one glass presumably for the both of you to share. Pouring the first glass for you, he watched as downed the sweet red without much thought or consideration other than hopes to remove the chocolate taste from your mouth.
"Mon doux ange, où sont tes manières ? Je te pardonne pour cette fois, mais apprends à savourer tes récompenses, ma chérie."
He chuckled as he poured another glass, this time taking a sip while it was still in his hands.
Jealousy
Summary: You don't take kindly to others trying to take what is rightfully yours, usopp gets a reminder of this in the bathroom of a bar.
Tags: Possessive reader, sub usopp, public sex, no smut yet, unchecked for grammar and spelling
Usopp doesn't know how he got in this situation, one thing he does know is he can't get out. He's been flustered by your touch for the better half of an hour while the crew and locals party at the bar you currently reside in. The feeling of your hands gliding over his lower body; his thighs, his ass but most importantly his cock, has him trying to focus on anything other than your caress.
It was rare that Usopp was flirted with by someone other than yourself, the both of you liked to keep it that way. So when persistence in human form wanted to cling to him you didn't take to it very lightly. Grabbing him by the fabric of his overalls you dragged him into your lap where he currently sat. He currently held no qualms against the current placement. If anything Usopp was quite excited by the possessive thrill and being sure that you would never leave, along with the reward of your touch.
"Bathroom" He couldn't tell if the word fell from your lips as more of a purr or a growl but what he did know is you plan to rip him apart from the seams and he's completely down for it. His legs are wobbly from your teases alone as he walked like a baby dear for the first time, with you right behind him hand around the small of his waist.
Let's go to bed
Summary: The best way to get what you want from law is always to put in a show.
Tags: fluff, mention/use of alcohol no smut yet, unchecked for grammar and spelling
If you were honest you really don't have a clue how you ended up in this bar drunk off your ass. Maybe the back and forth playful bickering between you and Penguin got to you, maybe you were too tired of hearing Bepo complain about any climate not cold enough to freeze your nipples off. But you kept ignoring the voice in your head telling you its because of the lack of attention from law. You and your captain had an interesting relationship, closer than anyone else on the ship but not close enough for either of your liking. That thought drive you insane, the space between the two was the same space that allowed you to take almost any drink offered to you.
That's what got you in this mess now, dancing on the table tops and counters, causing you to be the center of attention. You wouldn't have it any other way. As you think, to take another offered drink, you lock eyes with your captain, who looks more intrigued than pissed off. This being so out of the blue, a part of you figured he'd be fuming. The look on his face tells you that he knows this little display of yours, if all for him, all because of him. Maybe you could give him one last hint and one more show. Making a b-line over to the musicians with a song request, he could see the grin in your face and knew your plans now edged toward devious.

A Symptom of Being Human (John "Soap" Mactavish x GN! Reader)
Look at me cleaning up my drafts with 2 finished WIPs in one night.
TW for very light angst and a very concerned Soap
| Blog HQ | Modern Warfare 2 Masterlist |
"You dinnae look happy" a voice commented as you walked into the shared kitchen. You spared him a shrug as you continued quietly to the cupboards, looking for your cup to make a warm drink in.
"What's bothering ye? You can talk to me, I don't bite" The corner of your mouth twitched at that, while he could be loud, and border the line of obnoxious his heart was in the right place.
"Would you believe me if I told you it's just how I look?" You glanced over your shoulder, watching as he slowly squinted at you. Clearly not buying it.
"Just my face, Irish Spring. I'm having a really good day actually" you shrugged once more, ignoring his protests mumbled from under his breath about the nickname. ('M not even Irish…)
As far as you could remember, you were always having people checking in on your wellbeing. Friends, distant family, caring strangers, store clerks, and teammates. Your normal expression clearly wasn't welcoming and optimistic. It was the opposite actually - you looked like you hated the world and everyone in it at all times.
"But you look miserable" You appreciated his concern, but didn't need him worrying about you. Pausing slightly, you shook your head before glancing over at your friend.
"The face looks upset, the soul feels good. Do you want a coffee?" You lightly chuckled, grabbing another mug out of the cabinet when he accepted your offer.
--
"You're concerning Soap" Ghost confided to you later that day, following a sparring session between the two of you. "He's convinced you're depressed and not telling him everything"
You couldn't help but playfully roll your eyes, you loved your teammate. You really did, but he was so overly concerned for nothing.
"I've told him, it's just my face. I don't know what more I can do, outside of wearing a mask like my resting bitchfaced friend" you smirked at Simon, watching him copy the action you had just done a moment prior.
"You know 'im as well as I do, he's not going to suddenly stop being concerned. Especially since he thinks you're devastated about something and hiding it" Simon had a point...shit.
It was at dinner that night, when you felt a pair of eyes burning a hole in the side of your head. You had a fairly good guess at who was on the other end so you continued eating.
How many times do I need to tell him I'm fine? It's just. My. Face.
You opted against entertaining the concerned stare, in favour of continuing your meal. Making small bits of conversation with your table mates between bites. That was until you heard a soft, yet obnoxious shuffling getting closer. He wouldn't.
"Hey guys" Kyle awkwardly greeted, placing his tray down at one of the empty chairs across the table from you. "Thought I'd sit here, change of pace" you arched a brow at the man, seeing right through his change of pace.
You continued picking at your food, waiting for the question to be asked. Waiting for the confirmation that Kyle didn't come by to just hang out. Glancing up at him every so often, you watched as the man sat awkwardly across from you. Shoulders stiff as he sat.
"You can tell Johnny that I'm fine" you commented after another moment of silence. "And you don't have to stay if you don't want to"
He gave you a small smile before picking his tray up and returning to his main group. Leaving you to roll your eyes, and audibly groan when you felt another tray land beside you.
"No. I'm eating, you do not get to badger me about this now" voice trailing off as your eyes met those of the confused recruit. "Nevermind, I honestly thought you were someone else"
Poking at the food for a second longer, your appetite leaving the chat after you potentially scarred the poor stranger. Dumping the remnants of your tray into the trash, you sighed softly as you continued on to your room.
3 steps from your door, you heard a familiar voice call out to you. Jogging up to meet you before you passed the threshold.
"Are ye sure you're okay?" He asked, leaning against the wall in front of you. You debated whether or not to call him out on his dinner plan, and involving Kyle in all of this madness. Deciding against it in the moment, you went with a simple:
"I'm fine, Johnny. I promise I'd tell you if I wasn't" followed by a small smile, almost missing the unfocused gaze he was giving you.
Almost.
The two of you sat in silence, a rarity for the man in front of you. The team could've swore he was allergic to silences unless required for work. Always chattering about something, making silly jokes or teasing his friends. But right now? He sat silently, unmoving. Eyes staring right through you as his mind was clearly not within range. You lifted your hand to wave it in front of his face, then it clicked. The reason why he was so concerned for you. The moment passed as soon as it began, quickly blinking and refocusing on you.
"I know you would, I still worry for ye though" a small punch to the shoulder, and he was making his way down the hallway. Leaving you standing in place, eyebrows furrowed with the latest revelation. How did you never realize this before? Turning to stop him, to sit him down and ensure he was alright, you were met with an empty corridor.
Frozen in place, you ignored the dull ache growing behind your chest. The gnawing feeling in your mind as you debated on running up after him. Worried that it would give the wrong message after you spent the last few days all but begging him to quit.
You couldn't get the sight out of your head, out of your heart. The flash of hidden agony in his eyes, emotion covered up by extrovert tendencies. Making sure everyone else felt alright and was doing fine, as a coping mechanism?
No. This is not up for speculation.
"Johnny, wait" you called, jogging down the hallway to go find him. "Are you okay?"
Without stopping, he turned his head and shrugged.
"It's just my face, bonnie"

WIP Wednesday: Can’t Buy Me Love
I haven’t forgotten about this one in the face of flufftober, but I’ll admit it’s arrival will be much later than I hoped
“Haven’t you ever heard of comfort food?” The arched eyebrow lowered as Obi-Wan took a deep bite with a groan. “Seriously; this is good,” he approved and slid the second plate over toward Anakin. “Better than sex.”
“I don’t know what kind of sex you’ve been having but there’s no way a burger compares,” Anakin scoffed and rolled his eyes and pulled it close. “That’s probably why-“ he broke off and shook his head, taking an admittedly satisfying bite to prevent him from saying something he would immediately regret.
“Why what?”
“Why, uh,” Anakin cast his mind around for an alternative, “why you’re going to have a heart attack before - how old are you?”
“Anakin, you are a remarkably bad liar. Now tell me: but what?”
Anakin sighed in defeat. “If your bar is so low maybe that’s why she broke it off.”
“Hmm.” Anakin refused to look up any further to see the hard set of his mouth, the taught jaw and flexed arm more than enough to clue him in to how the remark was received. “My sex life was fine, thank you very much.”
“Mhmm.” Anakin quickly nodded in agreement.
“Now what?”
“Nothing. Nothing!”
“I can hear your judgment. Out with it.”
Anakin sighed in defeat. “How fine could it have been if you were that desperate to shove your dick down my throat in the shadowy corner of your parking garage?” He waved a french fry around for emphasis. “It’s just - like: burgers are fine. Comfort sex is fine. Fast and dirty every once and a while is fine! But you can’t have it all the time right? You need a meal. A feast. Maybe that’s what was missing.”
“Oh, and I’m sure you’ll be the one to show me what I was missing?”
Anakin finally met the lined gray eyes, relieved to see a hint of amusement. “Obviously,” he winked and grinned widely and did his best to turn his bite of french fry into a seductive act, earning a genuine laugh in return.

WIP Wednesday
And now for something completely different: this is for a (hopefully short) pain-free AU featuring nurse Obi-Wan and grad student Anakin where nothing much actually happens except they fall in love and then continue to love each other forever.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan said as he held his closet door open and stared into it, “correct me if I’m wrong, but it appears you may have moved into my apartment.”
“What?” Anakin said, coming into their bedroom, a half-eaten taco in his hand. “No I haven’t. I live with Rex and Cody.”
“Mm-hmm, and I hear you,” Obi-Wan nodded, and then added without looking, “You’re dripping salsa onto the carpet.”
“Oh.” Anakin looked down. “Sorry.” He scraped at the spot with his toe. “I’ll clean it up.”
“Right, with the cleaning supplies that you already know where to find.”
“Uh…sure? They’re right down there, in the hall closet.” Anakin gestured with the taco, which caused more diced tomato to spill out of it.
“And then perhaps after cleaning the carpet, you might find you’ve worked up a sweat and need to take a shower, and you’ll probably use your shampoo” –
“You know I need special shampoo!” Anakin hissed. “Just because your hair doesn’t turn into a giant frizz ball every time humidity goes over ten percent” –
“And then after your shower,” Obi-Wan continued, “you’ll want to launder the clothes you were wearing” – he pointed to the clothes hamper, which currently had Anakin’s high school cross-country team t-shirt lying right on top.
“You were the last one to wear that,” Anakin mumbled.
Obi-Wan ignored this (very true and correct) statement and turned back to the closet. “And then you’ll need to put on some clean clothes, which you will undoubtedly get out of here.” Obi-Wan thought the visual spoke for itself, really. He gestured grandly to the open closet, which was full to bursting now that it was being asked to contain the entire wardrobes of two people who worked jobs with very different daily dress codes. “You see my point?”
Anakin scuffed his bare foot against the carpet again. “It makes it easier to leave straight for school when I stay the night,” he muttered, talking to the floor. “But if you don’t want me to anymore, I can stop.”
Obi-Wan sighed. “Anakin.” He reached out and took his hand (the one that wasn’t holding a taco). “Look at me.” Anakin did. “Does this look like the face of a man who is kicking you out?”
Anakin bit his lip and didn’t say anything.
“I don’t want you to leave,” Obi-Wan clarified. Anakin turned to him with, finally, something like hope in his eyes. “But I do want your rent money. After your finals please finish moving the rest of your things in here and if you could start paying me whatever you have been paying Rex and Cody that would be very much appreciated because honey, I love you, but you take forty-five minute showers and eat like you have a hollow leg.”
Anakin grinned, squeezed his hand, and popped the final bite of taco in his mouth. “Okay,” he said, through a mouthful of food.
“And please clean up our carpet.”
Anakin grinned some more and smacked him on the ass. “You got it, roomie.”

[Making some organization of our WIPs, so might as well do a WIP post while im at it-]
Feel free to ask any questions about ones that poke your interest or if you'd like bits from them or let us know which ones are your fave or that you're pulled toward.
---
For the longest of the long AU WIPs, there's
-Defectors AU - AU in which Kallus was assigned to the Bridger Raid and finds Ezra.
-The Aphelion Waltz - AU where the empire never came to be. Trouble in the lower levels of Coruscant sends the entire galaxy into an uproar.
-Sense of Faith, Self, & Valor - AU in which The Grand Inquisitor and Tua lived and Kallus convinces/inspires them to join the rebellion.
---
For long fics and multi chaps, we have
-The Renaecense of 264 -Kallus finds a droid abandoned by the empire out in the cold.
-Change In Plans -Prompt fic in which Kallus comes across a young lasat child in imperial custody. (Has been in our docs for MONTHS- I don't think we've spoken much on it)
-Salticidae -prompt fic where Kallus finds a lovely little creature and Zeb has to try and get over a fear before his partner gets home. (Might be a one shot, might be a multichap)
-Eyes of the Ashla -a prompt fic au. Kallus can see specific ghosts
-Insomniac Art Attack - Prompt fic. Sabine putting restless energy into good use.
-Pull You Into Dark Corners - heavy revisions needed. Nsfw. KalluZeb
-All Of Me -secret relationship. Not a slow burn, but something adjacent. This one might be scrapped and fused into other works. We'll see.
---
One Shots!
-Baby Its Cold Outside [Defectors AU AU Edition]
-Jealousy Ft. Alexsandr - AU of sorts (mainly because time line doesn't line up with the concept but it makes me giggle). Kanan has a very Oblivious Moment and is jealous of Kallus.
-Bite Me, Love -something that was originally just a silly little thought but then 3 of you within a span of 5 minutes said I should do it. Like damn alright ig (I look forward to it hehe)
-[Unnamed Gift for Lost in Derry] - In the rebellion, Kallus being loyal to Hera. (I'm so excited about this one)
-[Unnamed Gift for GreyGhost] -After a major victory and an even bigger celebration, Kallus cares after a very drunk lasat.
-"Kiss The Girl" fic - Ezra and Kanan do a few shenanigans in attempt to get Kallus and Zeb to confess to each other. Ends in disaster every time. ... or maybe not.
-Morning Haze -nsfw kalluzeb
---
Ideas/Prompts we have that we haven't had the chance to start yet. But am eager to get to.
-"I would rather set myself on fire in an attempt to burn them from daring to try and touch me than let them do as they please." - Sabine Wren (We have 2 different ideas for this one. One that's early on in Sabine doing ghost crew, between her and Kanan. And the other is her and Kallus being assigned to a negotiation together, and it's one of the first missions they have together.) (Might make them be in the same timeline, like the second being a reflect to the first and time passing. The first being far more reckless and self destructive while the second is a promise of fight, a continous call to action.)
-so so so many fulcrum trio things. You have no idea how badly HOW BADLY I need these three to be on missions together.
-in addition to the above, Jealousy ft Cassian & Ahsoka.
-sentient glimmer fics
-Sentient Bo-rifles
-Kallus surprising Zeb by making him some of his favourite foods. So much fluff.
-Fulcrum Kallus dealing with the severe isolation of being so deep in the empire.
-Kallus keeping Every Item someone gives him.
-nsfw - service top Kallus & pillow princess Zeb
-6 More Prompts we've been given that we haven't started yet but are waiting for us once we get through a few more wips first.
---
These are the ones we have thrown up on Ao3 rn that we are half way through
-Conversationalist - an Ezra Fic
-Jealousy ft Lando - KalluZeb nsfw
---
Staying in hiatus until I have the availability to bring it out is
Force User Zeb - this is a long au fic we haven't been able to touch in awhile (😭😭😭)

Txt when they have a crush on you but tries to act cool and deny it (being a tsundere)
warnings: cursing Masterlist/wip list/things i might do later
Tumblr media
Soobin:
not really a tsundere, but i guess he would act like a responsible adult
“it takes skills being a leader of 4, you know?”
but on the inside, he’s like a little boy who just got their crush
i mean, look at you though. who wouldn’t get a crush on you??
so.. he’s conflicted. He doesn’t know if he should stay away from you or get closer to you, ending in chaos
he values you so much he just doesn’t know how to express it
and it really shows, especially when you compliment him
“Hey.. y/n. Uh.. maybe shut up?”
panik
“Wait no! please don’t be upset, keep telling me how much you like my music! START TALKING”
Sends mixed signals and cant keep his muttering in
“y/n.. I love you pabo”
“What did you say?”
“Uh- UH- I sai, y/n! I’ll shove you pabo!”
Overall he’s a sweet but salty little shit who is 6′3 needs you around him badly but is scared to show it
Tumblr media
Yeonjun:
runs his hands through his hair every time you’re near
he maintains eye contact on purpose with u just to tease you
this boi has high attack but weak defense
If you do the same, he’ll be satisfied but also get really flustered
“I knew it! They cant resist me.”
however, if you ignore it or act annoyed, he’ll be very scared that you might think he’s too cocky
give you nicknames and acts like it’s no big deal
“just because i called you baby girl doesn’t mean anything! why would you even think that, huh?”
prideful bastard cause he knows he’s hot, meaning he has a big ego and needs even more boosting from you
known as the best dancer in txt, he’ll go even above and beyond when you’re there (as if his moves were not perfect and sharp enough already)
when you hang out with others, he gets jealous
so he gets your attention by provoking you
constant resting bitch face around you to hide the fact that he’s head over heels for you
He also pulls risky behavior shits to be in the spotlight
Tumblr media
Beomgyu:
He’s so bubbly! How can he be a tsundere? But if he was-
he would try to look extra good in front of you (if that possible)
LOTS of hair flips
he acts distant towards you.. But also wants your undivided attention at the same time
he’s scared he’s scared you won’t like him back
So when you hang out with others it just scares him more, making him wanting to know everything about you and what you did
uses sarcasm a lot with you
“Hey gyu! I saw this recipe for cookies you guys might like. Should i make some?
In his mind, he’s like “Uh- ‘you guys’?? They should be only for me. But yes. Now ask me to make it with you.”
And it comes out as “stop trying to kill me with your cooking”
when members ship you guys together, he’s going to throw a tantrum
“Gyuu, i didn’t know you liked me ;)”
“W-what? You too? No I don’t! I really don’t! WHY ARE YOU GUYS LAughINg?”
That leads to some overthinking and then to confession
Tumblr media
Taehyun:
acts like he doesn’t have time for your shits, but secretly wants you to bother him
like- a lot
goes to the gym extra often and does more magic tricks just to impress you
And he pants, like, a lot with his sleeveless shirt during work outs or dance practices if your there
he acts unemotional around you unless you trigger him
Oh and i almost forgot- wet hair and licking his lips
all of a sudden, he’s not embarrassed to causally flex his muscles i wonder why
he’s also known for being a good cook
when you want a bite, he smirks and teases you
Of course you’ll tell him that it tastes amazing! and now he leaves food everywhere for you to eat
“What? You ate them? But they weren’t for you!”
But the members and you all know that Kang Tae Hyun would never just leave things around like that
“Who were they for then, terry? Your secret lover or something?”
“UH- no- i-.. yeah okay. BUT ITS NOT YOU THOUGH- no- you know what? give me back my food!”
Tumblr media
Kai:
Cant really see him as a tsundere but..
Doesn’t want to bother you and doesn’t want to seem needy so he asks his hyungs for advice
They tell him you make you fall for him first, and pay it cool
well that’s not helpful at all
this baby is scared the others will outshine him by a thousand mile
so he acts cold in order to not all for you any deeper but he would literally die for your smiles and praises
actually, i think he would love your encouragements even more than his hyungs
And every time you do, he gives you charming eyes and a sweet smile.. And then attempts to cover his joy up (keyword: attempt)
“Kai! Do you wanna go get food with me?”
“um- no”
You cling to him arm “but.. Why noott??”
suddenly, he’s a bomb of emotions, stream’s coming out of his ears
“OKAY OKAY ILL GO JUST LET GO OF ME PLEASE”
A/n: Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed! if you have any requests, please feel free to submit them also here’s some ideas i might do in the future <3

Would you like a Macchiato with that?(WIP)
Macchiatto Shipping (Skylor x Coffee Manager)
AN: who's the Coffee manager? Well this gal right here!
Tumblr media
I call her Jennifer after Jenny X9 from My life as a Teenage Robot, but I theorize she may be Pixals Predecessor, the 15th P.I.X.A.L. Her color scheme is way to close for me along with her personality haha her and Pixal are both very competitive and full of sass along with being protective of their respective interests.
Back when Diisdoodles and I were on speaking terms, they came up with the ship name, which I still absolutely love, so I will still use as I revive this pairing.
.
.
Skylor noticed when a Nindroid moved into the abandoned shop just down the block from her, she decided to leave the other alone. Especially if they were planning on opening a business, the Nindroid would be plenty busy rebuilding the place
Then of all people, Doctor Cyrus Borg showed up at her restaurant covered in grease and dust a mask around his neck and the Nindroid beside him, the pair laughing at something as they entered. The Nindroid was pretty with medium gray hair tied back, even with paint splattered throughout and even on her facial plates
"Welcome to Master Chens Noodle House." She found herself tumbling into her usual spiel they both smiled as they waved going to a booth as she decided to go on over
The pair had already a few things from the belt, their heads turning at her intrusion,
"Sorry Mr Borg don't mean to intrude, but I noticed thus one moving down into the old Store down the road. Curiosity got me and wished to meet my new neighbor,"
He gave her a grin,
"Oh, that's perfectly fine to me! It makes me happy that she's being welcomed so warmly."
The Nindroid nodded a soft smile on her face,
"It makes me happy as well," she agreed before holding hr hand out I am Jennifer, the 15th P.I.X.A.L."
Skylor accepted it, smiling back,
"Nice to meet you, I'm Skylor Chen. May I call you Jenny?"
"Of course it is what those close to me call me, and I have a feeling we are going to be close. I have big hopes to restart this district, make this place a hub of good food and entertainment."
Skylor beamed Jennifer, returning the same smile
"I love to hear that! You and I share the same ideal, if I may put a bug in your ear the place you are renovating used to be the local bakery,"
Cyrus gave a playful look as he took a bite of his bowl of noodles, Jennifer responding
"Then it's a good thing it's being turned into a cafe,"
"That makes me happy to hear. The local college kids will swarm it so I'd have a nook for them to tuck themselves in. " She motioned to her restaurants own a giant booth filled with young adults"Well I will leave you both to eat I would say it's on the house but knowing Mr Borg he'd slip a 100$ into the tip jar like last time"
She heard Jenny laugh as her fathers face went red as the woman went back to the kitchen
Skylor began seeing more of the Nindroid around sometimes with others she theorized were other family members, they began sitting down on the days Jennifer was on her own and the Noodle House was in a lull

i’ve had this for ages but here is a piece of a wip i’ve had for over a year now. i’ve been working on it again and maybe posting will bully me into finishing it. so here’s some of my shadowgast childhood friends au
When the server has gone and Caleb has a hot coffee sitting in front of him he asks “So, what is it that you do these days?”
Essek perks up at this. “I’m at the Marble Tomes Conservatory. Mostly I teach classes, but I do have some time dedicated to research. I’ve been able to invent a few spells of my own, actually,” he tells Caleb, speaking with an energy that is incredibly familiar.
“I am happy for you, friend,” he says, a genuine smile on his face. “It’s all we ever dreamed of as boys. I assume your area of expertise is dunamancy?”
“Yes, graviturgy specifically,” Essek answers. “When I started school here I got access to so much knowledge about magic and dunamancy, in particular, was fascinating. Using magic to manipulate the workings of the universe. It really was beyond any of our imaginings as children.”
And just like that Essek is off talking about magic theory, enthusiastically gesturing with his hands as he explains complicated concepts that he clearly understands very well. Caleb is listening intently, filing it all away to be examined alongside what else he knows of dunamancy at a later time. Mostly he is focusing on Essek himself, the way his ornate earrings sway as he talks, how bright his eyes look as he talks about his passion, and the way his sleeves are rolled up to show off his forearms. Even when their food arrives (sandwiches with a small bowl of soup that reminds him of meals they ate in his little house as children) he only pauses briefly to take a bite of his food before he’s off again. It’s endlessly endearing and makes him smile.
Caleb realizes the danger of this, of course. It would be so easy to fall back in love with Essek. As far as he can see he is close enough to the boy he knew and loved that it wouldn’t even be difficult. He’s never been good at letting things go. But it would be doomed to failure from the start because he would have to tell Essek about what happened after he left and he would never feel the same way after that.
Essek seems to catch himself after a while. “Ah, but I have gone on for a long time. What have you been doing? I do wonder what landed you in Rosohna.”
He sets his sandwich to the side, trying to decide what to disclose while he finishes chewing. “My friends and I are renting a house on the edge of the Gallimaufry. A lot of us are just doing odd jobs. Jester spends her days working in a bakery, Veth is at a small apothecary, things like that. When money gets tight sometimes we’ll do bounties to make ends meet, whatever we have to.”
“Bounties?” Essek asks, eyes wide.
“Ja, usually someone needs to get rid of a monster for some reason or another, and my friends and I became adept at killing them as we traveled together,” he says with a shrug. “We get by and usually it’s good money. We would rather not if we can help it, but it doesn’t always work out that way.”
“I must say it surprises me to hear that you adventure for money,” Essek confesses. “I always imagined your pursuits would be of the more… academic variety.”
Caleb gives him a wan smile. “Unfortunately it is not always easy to focus on academics and pay the bills. As it is I can only spend some of my time teaching magic to some children in the Coronas.” His smile turns genuine at this. “It doesn’t pay much but I enjoy it too much to stop. If I have to use my magical capabilities to kill monsters so that I can continue to teach, so be it.”
“So what is your specialty? I had always wondered which school you would land on,” the drow asks.
“Transmutation magic is my specialty, though I have some skill in evocation as well,” he answers, feeling much more comfortable discussing magic. It is well-tread ground between the two of them as well as something he feels confident discussing.
This makes Essek give him a fond grin. “I should have known. It is the school with the most flexibility, the most room for creativity and change. It is perfect for you.”
The words send a feeling of relief flowing through him. It’s a confirmation that though he has changed much, maybe some of the boy he once was still lives on in him. His oldest friend recognizes him in even the way he does magic, which is the closest thing to his soul that he has. It’s almost a validation that he chose right when he tried to pick back up the pieces and relearn the art.
“Ah, Danke, Essek. It has done well for me and given me the tools to tinker with spells where I can. All magic is personal, but I find that understanding the intricacies of transmutation lets me make bigger changes than those that come naturally. It just takes a bit of working through,” Caleb begins to explain.
The drow just looks at him with a smile, lunch set to the side as he looks at his friend affectionately. The expression on his face makes Caleb pause in his explanation.
“Ah, sorry. I don’t want to bore you with things that you already know,” he says, blushing a little bit. He can’t believe he’s trying to explain basic magic theory to someone who actually finished their schooling and teaches at a high level, in a lesser-known and complex school of magic no less.
Essek waves away his worries with a hand. “No, that’s not it. It’s just nice getting to watch you get excited about magic once again. I missed it. I missed you.”
Something in Caleb’s chest melts at the words and he smiles warmly. “I missed you, as well. I am glad fate has brought us together once again,” he replies.
This, however, causes Essek to make a sour expression. “I don’t know if I subscribe to the idea of fate,” he admits. “My time in the dynasty especially has put me off of it. Not just because I practice dunamancy, either, but because of how it is talked about as fact here, an absolute.” He pauses, considering. “But if some grand design has brought our paths together again I cannot help but find myself grateful.”

Hey there love! Here for the ask game. ☺️
💋✨❌🙋‍♀️👀
Hi @heynikkiyousofine! Fanfic Writers Emoji Asks 💋 First kiss fics. Love em or hate em? Love love love em! The dynamics that lead up to a first kiss are so much fun to read and to write!
✨ Give you and your writing a compliment. Go on now. You know you deserve it. 😉
Woof... Um... I think my writing can do a good job of conveying emotion to the reader? At least that's what I gather from reader comments. And I tend to hear that my characterizations are pretty on point, which is a pretty awesome compliment in my opinion.
❌ What’s a trope you will never write? I hate to say NEVER, but probably truly dark non-con. It's just not within my capabilities and I would struggle with it too hard to even attempt it.
🙋‍♀️ Do any irl people know you write fanfic?
My husband, my therapist, and most recently my best friend of almost 25 years. She was shocked I had managed to keep it a secret from her for 20 years. 😂
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
Hm... Let's see. I have... too many. lol I'm working on my @inu-spiration Halloween Reverse Bang piece, which is beating me up. It's over 18k words now and not as close to done as I would like... But I can't reveal details about that one yet. I CAN talk about the fact that I've been working on the next chapters of both How Does Your Garden Grow? and Your Lying Smile.
I'm also working on the next chapter of By Rights, but that won't go up until @inuparentsday in January. For funsies, here's a snippet of that! (Under the cut for spoilers)
Dinner was uncomfortable at best. Touga tried to simultaneously watch his "rival" and act as though he had no interest in him whatsoever. It was more challenging than one might think. Subtly was not really his forte and neither was small talk. He could make pleasantries when needed — and conversation with someone he wanted to speak with was fine — but pretending to be cordial with two men he would much prefer to punch in the face was pushing his limits. Izayoi’s father was making a point to inflate Takemaru’s ego – as if the man needed any more arrogance – and trying to make Izayoi see his many advantages as a husband. Were he not able to catch her scent, he would know from the look in her eyes alone that she was only more and more disgusted with the whole situation as the meal progressed. He too was becoming increasingly frustrated with the flagrant favoritism and ego-stroking. But he held his tongue and simply spoke to Izayoi when appropriate, or commented on “how impressive” the new lordling’s holdings were. “Izayoi, my dear,” Takemaru crooned in a saccharine tone. “The kitchen staff cannot wait to make this for you when you arrive.” He waved a hand and a highly anxious server sidled up next to her with a small platter with some kind of sweet on it. A pastry of some kind, it appeared, filled with something. He could smell it from where he sat, but couldn’t identify the ingredients. “Exotic chocolate from trading with the islands.” “It looks very nice,” she spoke politely to the server, “but I am so full from our delicious meal, I couldn’t possibly eat another bite.” Touga bit his lip to hold back a smirk. She’d hardly touched her food, sneaking what she could get away with to her father’s dogs under the table. He didn’t like that she wasn’t eating, but he understood her lack of appetite. Even he felt the lingering “wrongness” in the air and it was unsettling to him. He hadn’t anticipated that Izayoi would be able to sense it – her father certainly didn’t seem to – but she was noticeably antsy in a way he was not used to seeing in her. She definitely never acted that way in his presence.

Tagged by @mikathemad and @kitnita thank you so much to both of you!!
This is going to be so long, so I'm cutting it off soon, sorry in advance jsjsjs
My words (Mika's): remember, white, love, sweet
Remember:
“I live with him, remember?” Wyatt’s eyes dart to the side, before returning to Roope’s face.  Something twists in Roope’s stomach, like his food is settling all wrong. He frowns. “I thought you’d left,” he replies. Wyatt’s fingers twitch, before Wyatt shoves his hands deep in his pockets. “Yeah, well,” Wyatt shrugs, then bites his bottom lip, chewing on it like he wants to make it bleed. It comes away red and shiny when spit, when Wyatt finally releases it, hums and shrugs again as he turns to Roope. “An experiment. It went terribly so. I went back to Joe’s.”
White:
Everybody knows, that the northern sirens are more dangerous than their brethren from the South. Or, rather, they all should know, but the southern sirens were flashier, easier to remember, than their more cunning siblings, their minds made as sharp as their teeth by the cold that could kill everyone without pause. Petey had shown them his teeth when he arrived, all sharp edges and blinding white, and never let anyone forget them.
Love:
“Yeah, Marns and…,” he sighs again. His voice sounds muffled from behind his fingers, and when he lets out a chuckle, it’s airy and as fake as the designer bags that Kniesy insists are the real thing. Auston drops his hands from his face after a moment, his eyes fixed on the ceiling, while his mouth twists into a smile that’s all sharp edges, every one of them directed inwards, before continuing. “Only falling in love with boys and things that will break my heart.”
(bitter)Sweet:
It should be a relief, that he can rest, that he isn’t late, not really, but instead it tastes like disappointment, something bittersweet lodged in his throat. He lead his team to the playoffs, for the first time in years. They got kicked out of them, so thoroughly and suddenly that Nico’s body couldn’t get used to the idea, loose the shape of his stick between his hands, the roaring of the crowd from his ears.
Zoe's words:
Matter:
Trevor comes undone under Jack's hands with a soft cry, his body writhing on the bed as he buries his fingers in the sheets, soft whimpers spilling from him no matter how hard he bites his lips. Leaning forward, Jack presses their mouths together, coaxes Trevor's open and drinks the sounds he lets out like he's a man lost in the desert and Trevor an oasis.
Hot:
Ty does turn around, now, and Wyatt's face feels sunburnt all over, like the time he fell asleep by the pool and forgot to put on sunscreen. Under Ty's surprised expression, Wyatt feels both hot and cold, like he might discover a shade of red never before seen on a human. "Okay," Ty replies, slowly, his eyes scanning Wyatt's face like he can read whatever is writing under his flush. "But I stand by it. You're as pretty as a girl, prettier than some, even."
Respect:
There is no respect in any of my wips friends, I am sorry, there are some very rude people
Even:
Hischier’s wearing the stupid sweater. The one with white and brown stripes, so fucking ugly that even Jack would like to burn it to ashes. He’d rip it off Hischier, throw it in a volcano just so he didn’t have to see it, save humanity from such a horrendous sight. The Hischier on screen, prerecorded, ignorant of Jack’s existence and his inner monologue, laughs and shrugs. The sweater engulfs him whole, and Jack clenches his fist so hard there are prints of a half moon in the palm of his hand.
Thank you both for tagging me, it was a lot of fun!

WIP Wednesday - What Waits 'Round the Corner
Fandom: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Main character: Lucien Flavius Rating: T for violence Genres: Angst, Hurt/Comfort Summary: There's a reason Lucien only made it to Falkreath before deciding he really needed some hired muscle. Lucien Flavius is from the eponymous mod by Joseph Russell.
26 Sun's Height, 4E 201. Helgen, Falkreath Hold, Province of Skyrim, the Cyrodiilic Empire.
Dear Mother,
I have made it to Skyrim! You were right, the quality of the roads took a dramatic turn for the worse as soon as we were through the Pale Pass. I got out of the cart and walked a bit just to get a reprieve from the jolting. I am resting in a small town called Helgen, just on the other side of the Pale Pass. The town has rough fieldstone walls - not a right-angle to be found - and sits on a crossroads: one road goes East over another mountain pass, and the North and Western roads go down the shoulders of the mountain to a village called Riverwood and the hold capital of Falkreath, respectively.
The mountain is something to behold! I’ve included a sketch in this letter. I can see why it is called “The Throat of the World!” We climbed and climbed coming out of Bruma up to the pass, but I don’t think the mountain top ever became appreciably closer. There seems to be a blizzard up at the peak at the moment, so I guess I would not know. If the rest of the landscape in Skyrim is this dramatic, I think I’m going to be using up all my parchment on sketches!
The letter you wrote certainly helped in this leg of the journey. I was able to convince a Legion quartermaster on her way to Skyrim with supplies to let me ride with her, and the chap in charge of the gate said that his father served under you as a Cornicen in the Great War. Maybe you remember him, Atticus Quinilum. Anyways, the quartermaster’s name is Ranne Straight-furrow. I met some Nords in Bruma but my goodness do they grow them tall up here in Skyrim! She’s got to be a head taller than any of the Colovian-born soldiers.
I’m staying at the inn here, (and really it is just the largest house in town with a handful of extra beds in the loft), run by a nice Nord named Vilod. I won’t be staying long - Helgen is really too small and remote to use as a base of operations, and the Legion makes it more of a target for the insurgents.
I am planning on setting out for Falkreath in the morning; it will be a push to make it down the mountain in one day’s travel, but the road appears well-maintained. I will purchase supplies and send for my surveying equipment. It looks like a good place to set up a base of operations, as it has an inn, and the guards here tell me there is a plethora of Dwemer and Nordic ruins in the mountains. By the time you receive this I should be in Falkreath, so please send any letters there. Even if I move on, Skyrim’s towns are connected enough that I should be able to receive them. Give my love to Father.
Your loving son,
Lucien
“Here lad, I grabbed you some supper. Courtesy of the Legion.”
Lucien looked up from his letter. Ranne towered above him, setting a trencher of bread on the table before taking her own seat. Lucien moved his parchment out of the way of any crumbs and examined the meal. It was simple but hearty fare: some sort of salted fish on coarse brown bread, and a good portion of vegetable pottage to go with it. It was a far cry from the fine foods Lucien had been brought up with in the Imperial City, but after a day of trudging through a snowy mountain pass, his mouth watered just looking at the meal.
“Thank you very much, Ranne.”
Ranne was already tucking into her supper, dipping the trencher bread into the pottage and taking large bites. She grunted in acknowledgement and made a gesture with her mead tankard that Lucien decided to interpret as ‘You’re welcome.’
The experience of eating quickly with no utensils was new to Lucien, and he was nowhere near as efficient as Ranne. She was mopping up the last of the meat juices and pottage with the crust of her bread while Lucien was still working on his first bit of fish.
“Where are you planning to go next, Lucien?” she asked, taking a swig of mead.
“I’m going to Falkreath,” Lucien replied, trying and failing to keep an errant chunk of fish on his trencher. “That seems a decently large enough…settlement… to base my initial expedition out of, without being too expensive or far away from the border.”
Ranne nodded. “There’s a scheduled patrol that will go through Falkreath in two days’ time. I’m sure Captain Hadria will let you follow along so they can escort you down the mountain.”
“Oh, I will be leaving in the morning,” said Lucien. “I have too much to do and to set up, and I want to be able to establish myself and send for the rest of my supplies before the pass closes for winter.”
Ranne stared at him for a long moment before speaking. “I think you should wait. The roads aren’t safe for a lone traveler.”
Lucien looked up from chasing a legume of indeterminate cultivar with a bit of bread-crust. “Oh, nonsense. It can’t be more than four leagues away, all downhill. I should be able to deal with a mudcrab or two! I’ve got a dagger.”
“It’s the two-legged animals you have to worry about here in Falkreath. We don’t have any large wolf packs, but they’re not the only ones waiting for a good kill.” She stood. “I can’t make you wait, though, if you’re determined.”
“Oh, I’m sure I’ll be fine. After all, it’s an Imperial road and those are safe for travelers.”
“That is certainly the Legion’s opinion,” Ranne sighed. “Be careful Lucien. Keep your eyes open. And… maybe write home before you set off.”
“Actually, I just finished a letter to my mother,” Lucien said. “Would you be willing to take it back to the Jerall View Inn? The innkeeper said he had a courier who makes regular trips to the Imperial City.”
“I’d be happy to, lad.” Ranne downed the last of her mead in one swig before gathering her tankard and now-empty bowl. “I’ve got a knapsack for correspondence on the wagon, just put anything you want sent in there before you leave. I’m heading for the barracks.”
“Good night, Ranne. And thank you again for the lift over the pass.”
Ranne waved off his thanks with another grunt and left the mess hall. Lucien turned his attention back to finishing his meal. After returning his bowl to Vilod, he threw his map case over his shoulder and climbed the sturdy but steep ladder to the loft.
There were several beds separated by hung hides and a few cots and bedrolls in a corner for more thrifty travelers. By the dim light of a few scattered candles, Lucien could see that several men were dealing out hands of cards and two of the beds were already occupied. The men looked up when he entered but turned back to their game immediately. The air hung heavy with the smell of soot from the hearth below and hay from the thatch above, along with the sour-sweet smell of yeast from the brewing vats.
Picking his way carefully through the beds, Lucien made his way to the alcove he had been given upon his arrival. His carry-pole was where he left it, along with the old Legion-issue loculus his mother had given him to use on the expedition. Lucien shed his doublet and opened the worn flap of the leather satchel. Briefly, he caught the strong scent of old leather and the hyssop balm his mother favored to soothe the aches and pains she had collected from her military career. An intense wave of homesickness washed over Lucien, his breath catching in his chest. Lucien was glad his back was to the rest of the room as he struggled to compose himself – he was being ridiculous; his adventure had only just started and here he was missing his mother like a child!
The tightness in his chest eased as the smell of home and family faded. While the furca was new and custom-fit to his proportions, the satchel was the same one his mother had carried during her service to the Emperor, and it was comforting to know that he was carrying a memory of her, and of home. After slipping off his boots, Lucien carefully packed his doublet, breeches, and cloak away in the manner she had taught him, and then placed the entire kit under the bed. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he settled into the rough homespun and furs, hearing her voice echo in his head: Always keep everything you possibly can in your pack, Lucien. You never know when you’re going to have to make a hasty exit. He rolled over, turning away from the candlelight from the other side of the loft. The furs were rough, and the worn tick mattress allowed musty hay to poke through the fabric, scratching any exposed skin. Lucien wondered whether he would ever get comfortable moments before the long climb and warm meal took their toll and he drifted into a dreamless sleep.

Tumblr media
“Bakugou… what are you doing here?”
Shouto enters the room with freshly bought peonies in his hands—one of the many dozen he had brought to this hospital already—his steps coming to a halt at the sight of the Explosion Hero near your hospital bed. Katsuki looks up and narrows his eyes, aggravated by the offender’s question.
“What? You got a fucking problem with me being here?” He keeps his voice low, not wanting to disturb the entire hospital wing, knowingly admitting to how loud he could be. But that doesn’t suppress the bite in his tone.
“Just because you’re her fucking boyfriend doesn’t mean you’re the only one that’s allowed to worry about her,” he nearly spits, and Shouto’s face mirrors Katsuki’s own irked expression.
You have been unconscious for a week now. The cause of this incident was due to your encounter with a dangerous villain who had been wanted by the police for quite some time. Months of evading capture down the drain, the villain had unfortunately ran into you as you patrolled the streets during your nightly shift.
In the end, you won the fight, but at the cost of damage done to your body and overuse of your quirk. As a result, you entered an unconscious state, recovering in this hospital bed to be monitored by medical staff throughout each day. The doctors assured them that you would eventually wake up but will need time to heal on your own through rest.
Ever since the day you’ve been admitted here, Shouto has been visiting your bedside. However, this is the first time Katsuki’s shown up.
Shouto only points a glare to the blond, ignoring him while he sets his bouquet down next to your bed. He notices the already present vase of hydrangeas, surmising that Katsuki must have brought them. He places his bundle of peonies beside them.
The dual-haired man sits on the opposite side of the bed from Katsuki, whose attention is brought back to the girl’s sleeping face, patched with wraps and bandages as a result of your tribulations with the villains.
If I had finished my jobs quicker, I would’ve been able to see you the moment you had to stay in this damn hospital. The thoughts ring in Katsuki’s head, hands clenched into fists out of frustration.
Knowing you had to deal with that whack job of a villain on your own—that your overprotective and valiant nature wouldn’t allow you to let this criminal walk away when you encountered him, and that they weren’t there to prevent you from getting like this—killed both him and Shouto on the inside. They especially hated not knowing when you would wake up or if what the doctors said about you eventually regaining consciousness would even be true.
Shouto takes your hand in his, intertwining your fingers together. Katsuki catches him pressing delicate kisses against your lightly bruised knuckles from the corner of his eye, the young man not caring that he was performing these intimate acts in the presence of another man. Shouto especially did this in order to make a solid point:
She’s mine.
Katsuki knew very well how possessive Shouto could be while he was in their presence. And honestly, he couldn’t blame him. If he got to call you his and keep you all to himself, he’d make sure everyone knew they couldn’t have you—that your smile and attention were all his and his alone. But in this case, they weren’t, and all he could settle for were envious emotions and fantasies of what could’ve been.
Bakugou Katsuki’s feelings for you date back to as early as your high school years at U.A.
At first, he wasn’t entirely sure what made these feelings arise. Having his goal of becoming the Number One hero plastered at the forefront of his head made romance and love trivial concepts down his path. Katsuki had no time to be chasing after girls, going on dates, and devoting a chunk of his time to a partner.
However, at one point, things started to change. He felt ripples affect the still waters that were his life, and he noticed that only you could calm this torrent. You were the one person he sought comfort in, the one person that understood who he was and why he acted the way he did. And the one person who mended him physically and mentally without belittling his character or crushing his pride.
Through all of that, Katsuki had begun to appreciate and admire all the little things about you. Like your beaming smile and the twinkle in the lovely hues of your eyes that you’d give him as you two interacted. It was such a welcomed contrast to the fearful looks the other students would have etched on their faces whenever he so much as called out their name.
He always took note of how you adjusted his food to his preferences during times you were assigned to cook that night at the dorms. And how you’d go and try to tend to him after training, when his muscles ached and his bruises were settling into his skin.
At first, Katsuki thought of it as a sign of weakness—to accept help from someone else when at his most vulnerable state. Yet you were persistent.
He recalls a particular memory after a battle during his internship where he was reduced to resting in bed to recover. Not many of his classmates came up to check on him during that time. Mainly because they figured he wouldn’t bother to open his door for them anyway. Though one night, he heard a knock sounding from his door. He glanced up from his bed, already thinking about ignoring the visitor in favor of staying in bed to rest, but a voice spoke beyond the threshold.
“Katsuki? I hope you’re not asleep yet. It’s not much, but I made you a little something to help you get better.” He didn’t reply upon recognizing your voice, hesitating to see what you’d do if he didn’t respond.
There was a pause of silence until you eventually continued. “Well, I’ll leave this in front of your door for you to have… If not, I’ll come back and retrieve it, okay?” That was the last you said before Katsuki picked up a light clank near the bottom of the entrance. Afterward, feet padded lightly down the hallway till they returned to the elevator to descend to the bottom floors, and the blond was by himself once again.
He weighed the option of leaving whatever you left for him untouched, but knowing you made an effort to arrive at his door to check on him caused him to waver. Before he knew it, his feet treaded to the spot to discover a hot plate of curry at his doorstep, followed by a note and painkillers. The plate perched on one of his hands, he opened the letter with the other.
Get better soon! We’ll be waiting for you!
Closing the note, he tossed it on his desk before plopping down on the edge of his bed with the plate of curry in his lap. It steamed and dispersed heat on his sore thighs, piping hot and ready to eat.
He gripped his spoon between his fingers, an irregular grin surfacing his lips. He scooped up the spicy bits of curry, gobbling the dish down to its very last grain of rice until the plate was clean. And in that time, every bite he brought to his mouth made him think of you.
“Dumbass, there’s no way I’m falling behind.” Feeling thoroughly full, he transferred the finished plate to his desk, where he had left the note. Before he had even realized it, he reached out for the paper, glancing over the words one last time. He fished a pen from his drawer and scribed a reply of his own for when you would return for the dirty plate.
Thanks, dumbass. It was good.
The Icy-Hot Hero, Todoroki Shouto, loved you too much to let you go.
You were the girl that shaped him to become the person he is today—who taught him to embrace himself for who he was and not let his past define him and what he stood for. You were the person that brought him out from the dark hole he trapped himself in and cast him into warm light. You’ve stuck together through thick and thin throughout your journey to becoming Pro Heroes, protecting one another and watching each other’s backs. It wasn’t long before he noticed his feelings for you had developed into more complicated emotions. Emotions that made butterflies flutter in his stomach and his face unusually hot whenever he even glanced in your direction. As he began to actively seek you out for comfort and support, he thought of you differently in comparison to all of his other classmates.
Initially, these foreign feelings troubled him. Yet, he could never quite piece together why you could garner such flustered reactions.
Then after consoling these newfound sensations with his close friends and family, he realized that you meant so much more to him than just a classmate, an ally, a colleague. Todoroki Shouto was—is—in love with you.
And the feeling was mutual.
Whether it was the intense looks you two sent as your gazes naturally drifted to each other or how your hands would always brush across soft and calloused knuckles in a silent plea to lace your fingers together, it wasn’t long before he discovered that his feelings for you were reciprocated.
Interestingly, you and Shouto never had to confess anything to each other. Your feelings came almost naturally for you both like you were telepathically linked and on the same wavelength. You came to one another like magnets attracted to their opposite poles, and in just a blink, your lips had met one day, and you took each other’s first kiss.
From then on was the start of many more “firsts.”
Shouto remembers the first time he let you hang out in his dorm room, talking about simple things like school, studying, and internships.
He remembers your first date to a cafe his older sister recommended—the one with flavorful milk teas he knew you’d take a liking to, with bountiful flowers decorating the interior of the tea house.
He remembers inviting you into his home to meet his older siblings, have dinner with them, and letting his family get to know you as his significant other.
He remembers taking you to see his mother at the psychiatric ward his wretched father had admitted her to, finally letting the two most significant women in his life meet and watching as his mother took a relieved liking to the girl he loves.
He remembers the tension that hovered in the air over an argument you two had one day, which was eventually mended through communication and reaffirmations of love.
He remembers embracing you in his bed, devoid of nothing but yourselves in your purest forms, eliciting sweet sounds from your lips that intoxicated him with lust and drove him to desire more and more until he monopolized every crevice of your body—every ounce of your soul—and intended to burn your beautiful, sinful image into his memory.
He remembers so much of the little things and the significant things about your love that he could never, ever hand you over to anyone else. Less of all to Bakugou Katsuki.
Katsuki was one of the first people to notice that they were in a relationship.
At first, it wasn’t obvious. The two made a point to keep their romantic bond a secret among their classmates and teachers not to complicate things and be the subject of teasing. They also considered the fact they needed to focus on their studies and hero training. Kisses and other affectionate touches were done behind closed doors or whenever they knew no eyes could discover them. These sneaky tactics proved to be effective and not many questioned them about relationships, aside from the occasional girls/boys talk they’d do. They’d ask each other things like “who would you date” and “don’t you think ‘so-and-so’ is cute” and many other curious asks. Their answers to these inquiries were inconspicuous enough that most of their friends didn’t suspect much of anything. Except for Katsuki.
Katsuki was never one to pick apart details, not as much as his childhood rival, Deku, anyway. But the more he looked at them, the more he was aware of the particular hints and their subtleties of tenderness. Such as the way the red-and-white-haired boy would perk up at the sound of your name or the chime of your voice from across the dormitory’s common area. Or the way you two would hover around each other more often than you would your classmates as if maximizing the most of your time together in public. Or how you’d go on small study dates together and hold each other’s hand underneath the table in the library, thinking no one would notice.
Perhaps, the most significant indication, however, was the expressions on each of their faces.
Maybe Katsuki had started becoming very hyper-aware, unraveling your mannerisms and making out even the smallest of singularities, but he felt your faces alone were an obvious giveaway.
The looks you gave each other were ones harboring nothing but pure love and adoration. He could discern the glow you exuded simply basking one another’s presence. Those looks weren’t ones you would give to a close friend; they were something more. He would know. That look Shouto gives is the same one Katsuki has for you, after all.
Except, his is never reciprocated.
That pretty smile, the flustered expression across your cheeks, the sparkling hues of your eyes—all those little details were reserved for Shouto, not Katsuki.
It hurt to know that the gaze you give Katsuki wouldn’t ever be the same one you give to Shouto. Katsuki knows this, and yet he still can’t seem to get past you.
The moment he was aware of his feelings—reluctantly fathoming the fact that you were with Shouto—Katsuki did everything in his power to stop these feelings.
No, not just stop. He had to get rid of them. Cut any connection with them. Dealing with an aching heart was too much work and pain for a boy with heavy aspirations to bear. So he ignored you—erased you. He didn’t so much as spare you even a glance as if you were just another extra. Whenever you appeared, he made a move to leave, spouting excuses such as “I’m going to sleep,” or “I don’t have time to be around you losers,” the usual Bakugou Katsuki response to any form of unnecessary socializing. He had to act like you didn’t exist, put his mind on something else—anything else.
But darn that girl and her need to check on and care for other people.
Noticing something was wrong with the boy, you sought Katsuki out, cornering him. You asked him what was wrong, to which Katsuki gritted his teeth, unable to look at you in the eyes, knowing that those feelings would bubble up inside him again as they conjured troublesome butterflies in the pits of his stomach. Yet it was no use.
He couldn’t deny that he missed those times together—when you would patch up his wounds and bruises after training or when you’d let him try out your spicy ailments before half-and-half because you always knew he had a preference for spicy foods. He still had it bad for you.
And he continued to harbor those feelings even after you all graduated after your third year at U.A.
The heroes-in-training were ready to take on the real world as Pro Heroes and sidekicks. By then, you and Shouto had admitted to the class about your relationship. Some were surprised, while others, specifically the girls, expressed their rounds of “I knew it!” likely noticing the chemistry between the two long before. Katsuki had decided to play dumb and acted like this announcement meant completely nothing to him. Just useless news. That was what he told himself, anyway.
After that, Katsuki didn’t see much of the couple around. All of them were busy with work and trying to get their names out in the public to compete on the Billboard Hero Chart.
Which was good news for him. With his goal of becoming the Number One Hero still lodged into his head, the blond threw himself into his heroic duties. Often, he didn’t stop, persisting on job after job until the agency he was under forced him to take breaks whenever they deemed necessary for his health. In those times, Katsuki found himself slowly forgetting about you. But occasionally, he’d see glimpses of you again.
As expected of one of the graduates under Class A of U.A., you were definitely making a name for yourself and propelling in popularity. Whether he wanted to or not, Katsuki would see articles and advertisements glowing with your resplendent features plastered on headlines, covered by your hero name.
God, did you look as beautiful as always. Katsuki would think before jolting his mind back to reality, remembering that you weren’t his to ogle.
The last part was hard to bear, especially when his former class announced a reunion party at a restaurant Momo had reserved for them when everyone had hit the legal drinking age. Katsuki was definitely not keen on going. However, his friend Kirishima had convinced him to come along through relentless persistence.
Ultimately, he attended the reunion. He and Eijirou arrived together and appeared relatively earlier. Well, earlier than at least half the class anyway. Eventually, more of their former classmates trickled into the food establishment and greeted one another with boisterous cheers all around. Which, unfortunately for him, included the people Katsuki dreaded to see the most—you and Shouto.
Your hand was already laced with half-and-half’s when you two entered, resulting in some of their classmates teasing you about your public display of affection. Both didn’t mind though. Over the years, you’ve grown quite comfortable with hand-holding and even hugging in the open.
You know who did mind? A certain explosion hero, of course.
Save that shit for when I don’t have to fucking see it. He almost hissed out loud but bit his tongue at the last second.
To his luck, you had ended up sitting next to him, with Shouto at your left. Though you were sandwiched between two guys from your former class who were infatuated with you, Katsuki felt like he was more suffocated than you were.
The reunion that night went by relatively smoothly. You would chime in some small talk with Katsuki during certain intervals of time while everyone was holding their own conversations in the background. He did his best to keep his cool and not let himself act like a high schooler in love. To some degree, he thought his facade had worked as he played off his usual “Bakugou responses,” albeit with a lot less yelling and venom in comparison to how he spoke to everyone back in high school. Dare he say, he might have even softened up a bit. What he didn’t notice was Shouto glancing at him from the corner of his eye while in the middle of a conversation with Midoriya.
The night continued with rounds of alcohol poured across the table of twenty-one heroes. They made their cheers before helping themselves to their spirits. Conveniently, Shouto and Katsuki were very adept at holding their drinks. You? You weren’t as great. By the end of the night, you passed out from how drunk you were and had ended up laying your head on the table, head floaty and light.
By then, everyone else had left aside from maybe five or so people. Momo graciously helped the couple secure a cab home safely for the night, and Shouto had gotten up to help confirm some information. Katsuki was left to his own devices with you next to him.
His eyes couldn’t help but wander toward your form. You were so vulnerable in front of him, with your soft lips, splayed hair, and long eyelashes turned in his direction for him to see. Though a bit of that smell of alcohol lingered, he could still make out the flowery aroma you always gave off. You smelled of lavenders, daisies, roses—every fucking flower under the sun—with a hint of honey. Your scent intoxicated him. He started to wonder if this is how you smelled like at home, or if your scent became even more potent whenever you appeared fresh out of the shower and—
Katsuki hadn’t realized his hand had subconsciously gone up to brush a stray hair from your face until he managed to pull himself away from his thoughts. Thankfully, he retracted his hand back before committing himself to the act. But the gesture did not go unnoticed by the heterochromatic-eyed man who had appeared again to gather you in his arms.
Shouto had taken his coat and wrapped it around you before hooking his arms beneath you to cradle your body.
“Mm, Shouto…” you hummed against him, arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as you nuzzled further into him while on the verge of sleep. Katsuki’s heart throbbed hearing those half-dazed murmurs that left your lips, which hovered so close to that bastard’s neck. He wanted the privilege of holding you close and taking care of you at your most vulnerable.
“Come on, love, we’re going home,” he said fondly at your resting state. Katsuki didn’t catch the cold glare Shouto sent his way as he looked elsewhere to avoid the couple’s intimacy right in front of him. All he could hear after that was the engine of their cab rumbling in the distance, trailing back to their humble abode.
“...I know.” Shouto finally breaks the silence within the hospital room, eyes still trained on his beloved as he rubs his thumb across your knuckles to the base of your hand.
Katsuki looks up at his words incredulously. “The fuck is that suppose to mean.” He narrows his brows into a pressed glare.
“I know that you’re in love with her.”
Katsuki deadpanned, his eyes wavering at the man’s declaration. Should he deny it? Make it seem as if the icy-hot head was delusional? No. He knows that the signs must have been obvious coming from the one man in his way of vying for your attention, the man that would go to so many lengths for you that he’d travel to the moon and back in a heartbeat if it were in your name. Katsuki can’t pry himself out of this one.
He takes a glance at you. Was this really the place to be confronting him about this? In the presence of your unconscious state resting in this hospital bed between them?
“And what about it?” Katsuki counters his claims.
“I don’t plan on letting her go no matter what.” As if to make a point on his words, Shouto’s hold on your limp hand is firm, unmoving. He slowly shifts his gaze to the ash blond, crossing his look of anger. “So stop playing this game.”
When the words travel across the hollow hospital room and to Katsuki’s ears, his fists tighten in response. “Game? Game?!” He raises his voice, body shaking. “You think my feelings are some sort of joke to you?! That I’m only looking at her like this for fun?!” His eyes find Shouto’s blue and gray, red with ire. The young man in front of him is unfazed in the wake of his indignation.
“Let me tell you something fucking straight…” Katsuki starts, stepping forward, finger pointing fiercely in Shouto’s direction. “I won’t deny anything I feel for her at this point. I’m in love with her, alright?” he admits without hesitance and notices the subtle quirk of Icy-Hot’s brow. “And I’ll tell you that if she were mine, she wouldn’t have gotten in this position in the first place.”
Those words are what finally make Shouto’s unnatural composure crumble. He releases your hand to stand from his place and face the blond at eye level. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
Crossing his arms, Katsuki scoffs at the question.
“You’d think I’d even let that villain get near her if this was gonna happen?” He gestures in the direction of your patched-up form, asleep and littered with bruises. “If she were looking at me, I would’ve already been on the scene to back her up. And just what were you doing, huh? Helping old ladies cross the street?” Katsuki is unfiltered as he hurls his insults, but three years of dealing with him as a classmate has made Shouto immune to his temperament.
“Let me get this through your head then. She was never looking at you. She was looking at me.”
Ouch. The blond would be lying if those words didn’t stir a pot of hurt inside him.
“And as both her partner and a fellow Pro Hero, I more than trusted her enough to finish the job on her own. Even if this isn’t a game to you, you’re already losing a battle you can’t hope to win.”
“Not sure why you’re the one calling the shots for her,” Katsuki quips. How ironic the girl they’re both fighting over lays comatose in this very bed between them.
The atmosphere is layered in dreadful silence afterward. The monitor next to you beeps in eery succession. It is the only thing heard in the hospital room that is wrapped in tension so taut it is bound to snap at any moment.
The knot of strife is undone by the door sliding open to reveal a nurse entering the uneasy state of the room.
“Mister Bakugou and Mister Todoroki, I’m sorry, but visiting hours at the hospital are closed for the evening,” she informs them as the two had yet to realize the sky veiled darkening orange with the setting of the sun. Eyeing the clipboard hugged to her chest, they knew it was about time for the hospital to assess your condition again.
The two make their leave, taking the time to thank the nurse before doing so, but the suffocating tension follows them even outside the hospital. They don’t speak a word afterwards, only sharing bristled looks and heavy steps until they’re forced to head off in their respective paths, not sparing any more kindness.
To Shouto, Katsuki would never understand the lengths he’d go for you because Katsuki could also never experience what the two of you went through together in the same way. All those years together, forging unforgettable memories of love and tenderness, could never be replicated.
But the blond isn’t bothered by those facts. It doesn’t unnerve him that he was unable to encounter all those firsts with you because in his mind, he’ll just create new memories—ones that you’ve never experienced and ones that will make him the last and only person you’ll ever want by your side. He’ll blow fucking Icy-Hot out of the atmosphere.
