Chapter 13 - Can you come get me?
A/n: I honestly cannot believe this fic is over already. Thank you to everyone who has read and commented along the way! Thank you for allowing me to post my first pd fic here. This chapter is jam packed full of hurt/comfort, protective!jay, hope you enjoy!
In this chapter … A phone call out of the blue leads to a desperate attempt to get Emma to safety.
Previous Chapter // Masterlist
With every day that passes, Jay feels more and more hopeless. A part of this feels like the first time he lost her all those years ago. Every time he returns home to his empty apartment he is reminded of her absence — her shoes still lying near the doorway, the half empty jar of peanut butter, a jacket slung over the back of the couch. Jay can’t bring himself to move her things or put the jar of peanut butter in the cupboard  The only thing that gets him through each passing day is trusting that Emma knows what she’s doing. He has to believe Amy. He has to believe that Emma left on her own and if she wanted to come back, she would. At the end of the day, no matter how much it hurts, he hopes that Emma is happier wherever she is.
Jay’s apartment feels so empty without Emma there. Even though it had only been a few months with Emma, Jay can’t believe he ever lived alone. He hates coming home to an empty apartment, so he spends most late nights in the bullpen, trying to figure out where Emma is. If he’s not staying late in the bullpen, it’s only because Hailey convinces him to go over to her apartment. As the days pass, it doesn’t get any easier. It just gets longer and longer since he last saw Emma.
Jay is sitting under a mountain of paperwork, but he has no motivation to get any of it done. He’s tapping his pencil on the desk, wondering if he can think of an excuse to get out of bullpen for a little while when his cell phone rings. It’s an unknown number, but he answers it anyway. “Hello?”
There’s a beat of silence, and then a whispered, “Jay?”
His heart nearly stops at the sound. He recognizes her voice, and it’s a phone call he’s been waiting for for the last two weeks.
“Emma?” Jay snaps his fingers to get his teams attention, but he didn’t have to because they’re all already moving after hearing Emma’s name.
“Can you come get me?” He looks over to Ruzek who’s furiously staring at his computer screen, trying to locate her using the cell signal as quickly as possible.
“Yeah, yeah I’ll come get you.” Jay responds immediately, “Do you know where you are?”
“I’m at a house, but I don’t know where it is. I’m scared, Jay. I’m sorry for running away. I just want to come home. Please come get me.” She whispers the last part and sounds like she’s about to start crying.
“We’re coming as soon as we can. Are you safe? Are there guns or drugs in the house?” Jay forces himself to keep his voice calm and steady despite feeling anything but calm or steady.
“Yeah, both.” She responds. “I just want to come home.” Repeating the same sentence from earlier.
He sees Ruzek nod and scribble something down on the paper in front of him. The whole team is getting ready to move out. Jay stands from his chair. “I’m coming, Em. We’re coming right now.” He says, “Just hang on.”
“Okay,” She whispers and the line goes dead.
He pulls the phone away from his ear, and everyone starts talking at once, while jogging out of the bullpen. Jay doesn’t even know what is happening, but he finds himself in the passenger seat of Hailey’s Jeep as she speeds off toward the address Adam located.
Voight got a rush for a warrant due to Emma telling them there were drugs in the house. Beyond that, they have no information, but Jay doesn’t care. All he knows is that Emma called and asked for him to come get her and that’s exactly what he plans to do, no matter the cost.
They don’t know if she’s in danger, but they know she’s scared. They don’t know who else is there or if there were any crimes committed. They’re going in blind. He and Hailey walk up to the door, knocking, while the rest of the team goes around the back.
“Hi, we’re looking for Emma Drier.” Hailey says when the door is opened revealing a man who looks to be in his early twenties.
“Is she in trouble?” He questions squinting at the two cops.
“No, we just have a few questions we have to ask her.”
“She’s not here.”
Jay steps forward forcefully, “Move.”
“You can’t come in here.” He responds, not moving from the doorway.
“Yeah we can.” Hailey steps forward, pressing the piece of paper with the written warrant into his chest. He takes it.
“We have reason to believe a sixteen year old runaway is in this house.” Jay’s hand starts moving toward his weapon, and the man immediately takes a step back, holding his hands up.
“Whoa man, don’t shoot. It’s not a crime to run away.”
Jay brushes right past the man, who doesn’t try to stop him, and into the house. He quickly but carefully starts clearing each room. “Emma! Where are you? Emma!”
He’s throwing open doors, his gun held up, hoping he won’t have to use it. When he swings open the very last door, he sees movement, and his eyes focus on Emma, but less than a second later, he notices her being pulled backward by a man holding a gun up. Emma is stiff and terrified. “Jay!” She cries out. Her blue eyes wide and frantic.
Jay holds his gun steady, his eyes only traveling to Emma briefly before refocusing on the man. “Put the gun down, you don’t want to do this.” He says, his voice remaining steady.
“Let us leave. Let us walk out the door and don’t come after us or I’ll shoot her right now.” The man’s hands are shaking as he shouts at Jay.
“You shoot her, I shoot you and no one walks out.” Jay says, his voice remaining low and firm.
“Just let us walk out of here!” He yells, starting to become more and more desperate.
Jay feels the presence of Hailey behind him. He doesn’t have to look to know it’s her, and she’s got his back. There’s no sniper and there’s no time. They had no idea this would turn into a hostage situation, so they are not prepared for one.
He secures his gun back in the holster, knowing Hailey’s gun remains trained on the man. “You want to walk out, you want leverage so no one shoots you, take me.” Confusion crosses the man’s face briefly, so Jay continues, “Trade me for her. I’m telling you now, I’m not letting you walk out of here alive with her. But I’ll go with you, we’ll walk out of here together if you let me switch with her.”
Out of his peripheral vision, he can see Adam in the doorway too. Hailey’s gun is still trained on the man, and Jay pulls his gun back out of the holster, he takes the magazine out and drops it onto the ground. “Take me.” Jay sees the hesitation on the mans face. Taking a chance, he holds his hands up and takes a step closer. “Just let go of her. Take me. I’ll get you where you need to go. None of them are going to shoot me. We’ll walk out of here right now, all you have to do is let her go.”
He takes another step closer, his hands still up in the air, his voice still remaining steady. “Put the gun on me, that’s all you have to do, and we can get out of here, alive.” Jay hears Emma start crying, and he has to force himself not to look at her directly. As the gun moves from Emma toward Jay, Jay immediately reaches out, grabbing Emma and shoving his body between the gun and her.
Gunshots ring out, and Jay shields Emmas body with his own. He knows the man is on the ground without having to look, and he immediately shuffles Emma out of the room, making sure she doesn’t see anything.
He pauses briefly in the hallway, his hands still on Emma’s shoulders. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” He questions, looking her up and down, checking for any visible or obvious injuries. There are tears streaming down her face, but she shakes her head. “Okay,” He looks around briefly, knowing his team is calling for an ambulance and dealing with the aftermath in the room. “Let’s go. Let’s get out of here.”
Emma doesn’t speak as Jay leads her out of the house and straight to his truck, opening the back door for her. He lets her climb in first and then sits next to her, closing the door behind them, leaving them alone in the truck.
He’s caught off guard when Emma immediately closes the distance between them to wrap her arms around him. He returns the hug, unconsciously sighing in relief, some of the tension leaving his body. “What happened, Emma?” He can’t help but ask. Her grip only tightens around him, and he falls silent. Whatever is happening outside of the truck will have to wait. Whatever happened in the days that she was gone will have to wait. He just needs to know that his sister is okay.
He doesn’t ask the question again, knowing Emma is in no state to be explaining everything to him, instead, he focuses on the present. “Does anything hurt?”
She shakes her head while her face is still buried against his shoulder. He pulls back, gently pushing her away from him because he needs to look at her. He needs to know she’s really okay and she isn’t hurt. He does another quick check, and doesn’t find anything immediately wrong with her.
“You’re okay?” He whispers a half statement and half question.
She nods, “I just want to go home.”
He nods. “I know.” But he also knows they’re now at a crime scene and he can’t just leave and take Emma home despite wanting to. The two of them remain in the back seat in silence and safety until Hailey taps on the truck door twice before opening it.
“Hey Emma, we’re so glad you’re okay.” Hailey says, and Emma whispers hello. Hailey says, “Is it alright if we head over to the district now?” Jay nods, and Hailey holds her hand out for the keys, “I’ll drive, you two can sit back here.”
Jay pulls his keys from his pocket and hands them over as Emma asks, “Why are we going to the district?”
“We just need to get your statement and then we can go home.” Jay explains.
“Okay,” She responds, still seeming to be in shock.
Hailey closes the back door and climbs into the drivers seat, adjusting the seat all the way forward before putting the car in drive and heading toward the district.
The three drive in mostly silence, with the radio playing softly. Jay can barely take his eyes off Emma, but her eyes are closed and she’s slumped against the side of the truck, so she doesn’t seem to mind his stare. Once they arrive at the 21st district, Jay leads Emma into the break room. “Are you hungry?” Hailey questions. Emma nods, plopping down on the couch. “I’ll grab some snacks from the vending machine, but we can get real food as soon as we’re done here.” Hailey disappears and only a few seconds later, Voight walks in.
“We’re all really glad to have you back, Emma.”
“I am too.” She says.
“I want to get you home as fast as possible, so if you follow me, we can get your statement done quickly.”
“Wait, why can’t she do it here?” Jay interrupts Voight because he had fully intended for them to take her statement in the break room, where she is already comfortable.
Voight’s eyes flick from Emma to Jay and back to Emma, then he calmly replies. “It’ll be better if it’s done in the interrogation room.”
“Why?”
Voight turns to Jay, “Because it’s best if you’re not in the room when we do it.”
Jay’s about to argue, but Voight puts his hand up, stopping the words before they leave his mouth. Emma stands, not seeing any problem, and follows Voight out of the room, Jay following close behind. Voight opens the door to the interrogation room, and Emma walks in first. Jay wants to follow although he knows Voight doesn’t want him in the room. With just a shake of his head, Voight stops Jay. Slipping into the viewing room next door, Jay flips on the speaker as he watches Voight take a seat across from Emma and ask her if she wants a drink. She looks nervous sitting across from Voight even though Jay knows Emma sees him as a grandfather figure and Voight has always treated her well. This is different.
Voight starts reassuring her, letting her know that she’s not in trouble, but they just want to know what happened. Hailey walks into the room after just a few seconds, depositing an armful of assorted snacks from the vending machine. She lingers, resting her hand on Emma’s shoulder and squeezing lightly, “We’re really glad you’re back.” Hailey says quietly before exchanging looks with Voight. Hailey walks out of the room and into the adjacent room.
Jay immediately wraps his arms around her and holds her tightly. “She’s okay,” Hailey reassures him. “She’s okay.”
“I just want to take her home.” Jay mumbles.
“I know.”
The two pull apart as Voight’s voice floats through the speaker. “We just need to hear from you about what happened right before we showed up and while we were there. Take your time,” Voight tells Emma, his voice soft.
Emma reaches for a package of four mini powdered donuts, opening it and taking one. She pops it in her mouth and chews slowly, looking from Voight to the mirror behind him. She knows Jay’s there even though she can’t see him.
“I shouldn’t have called.”
Voight shakes his head, “You did the right thing.”
“I was just scared and he wouldn’t let me leave.”
“Who wouldn’t let you leave?”
“Sam.”
“Okay, and what was Sam doing there?”
“Drugs. It wasn’t that bad at first, but we were there with his friends and it was getting worse and worse.”
“Was there anything else going on?” Voight questioned.
Emma nods, but stays silent. Voight lets the silence sit in the air until Emma finally speaks. “They were selling it.”
“Do you know what kind of drugs?”
She shrugs, “Pills, coke.”
“You said he wouldn’t let you leave. You tried to leave?”
Emma starts tearing up, and Jay practically growls from behind the mirror, “He’s supposed to be taking her statement, not fucking interrogating her.”
Hailey grabs onto Jay’s arm and gently squeezes. “He’s on her side, Jay.” She tries reminding him.
Emma takes a deep breath, wiping away a stray tear running down her cheek.
“I missed home. I missed Jay. I wanted to go back, but Sam said I couldn’t. He found out Jay was a cop and he got mad because he knew they were looking for me. I told him that I wouldn’t say anything about what they were doing there, but he —he was just mad.”
Voight nods, choosing not to push her anymore. “You’re doing great Emma, we’re almost done. Just tell me what happened when we got there?”
More tears start to fall from Emma’s eyes and Jay wants to run into the room, but Hailey blocks the door. “They’re almost done.” Hailey quietly but forcefully says. Jay turns back to the one way mirror.
“They heard that the cops were there. He got really mad and started yelling at me. He wanted us to leave out the back, but I wouldn’t go. When Jay ran in the room he pulled out his gun.” She pauses, tears falling. Hailey’s hand rests on Jay’s shoulder, a silent reminder not to interrupt despite how much he wants to.
“He said he would shoot me if they didn’t let us leave, but Jay—Jay said that he wanted to switch with me. Sam was scared too, so I think he was going to let us switch, but I don’t know what happened and Jay grabbed me and then we ran out.” She openly sobs, putting her hands up to cover her face. Voight turns around looking at the mirror, and that’s all Jay needs before he’s rushing into the room.
“It’s over,” Jay slides into the seat beside Emma and wraps his arms around her shoulders. She turns, sobbing into his chest, sobs of relief, sobs of fear, sobs of sadness. Jay rests his hand on the back of her head. Voight stands, leaving the room, and leaving the two of them alone. Jay remains seated, holding her close. He can’t believe that she’s finally back, that she wanted to come home.
When her sobs finally subside, she wipes her tears and looks at Jay, “Can we go home now? I’m hungry.”
Jay can’t help but smile and laugh in relief. “Let’s go.”
Hailey is waiting in the hallway, and Emma walks right into her waiting embrace. “Can we get pizza?” Emma asks.
Hailey smiles, throwing her arm around Emma’s shoulder as they begin walking out of the district. “We can get whatever you want.”
“Are you coming home with us?” Emma asks Hailey.
Jay knows Hailey fully intended to before Emma asked, but she hesitates now, “Uh if it’s okay with you?” Hailey asks, glancing between Emma and Jay.
Emma smiles, “Yeah, that’ll be nice.”
Despite having so many questions about what happened and how they found themselves in that situation, Jay doesn’t ask.
Luckily, he doesn’t have to wait long because almost as soon as they all sit down at the table, pulling slices of pizza from the box onto their plates, Emma blurts, “I’m sorry.” Jay pauses, looking up at her. “I’m sorry for running away.”
Jay had thought about this moment a million times since Emma first left, but he didn’t think it would feel like this. His heart still aches at the thought of her leaving. “Why did you leave?” He practically whispers. It hurts to ask, but he needs to know.
“I got scared.” She admits.
“Scared? Of what?”
“I thought you and Hailey were going to break up. And I saw you drinking in the middle of the night.” She admits.
Jay hears her, but it still doesn’t make sense until Hailey whispers in understanding, “You’re adoptive dad.” Emma nods, staring down at her pizza. Suddenly he remembers her file. He read it cover to cover probably too many times, just hoping for answers about where Emma could have gone. He can’t believe he didn’t draw the connection earlier. After her adoptive parents divorce, her dad would drink and he became abusive. Now it makes so much sense why Emma disappeared back into her room when she saw Jay drinking in the middle of the night. Now he understands why she was so worried about him and Hailey breaking up.
“I’m sorry.” Jay breathes out.
Emma’s eyes find his immediately, “No, I shouldn’t have run. I wanted to come back, but I thought you’d be mad. And then I couldn’t come back.”
“I’m not mad. I’m just glad you finally called. We’re glad you’re back.”
“I almost got you killed.” Tears fill her eyes.
Jay’s pizza is forgotten as he moves closer to her. “Hey, it’s okay. We’re safe. And I’m fine. You can’t get rid of me that easily,” Jay tries to joke, but she only cries harder, so he makes a mental note not to joke about it again, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
Emma’s cries eventually turn to sniffles and she starts eating her pizza. “Hey Em?” Jay asks after he finishes his first slice of pizza.
“Yeah?”
“You know that what happened with your adoptive dad isn’t going to happen with me, right?” She hesitates for a second, so Jay continues. “I promise. You’re safe with me and Hailey.”
“Always,” Hailey pipes in.
Emma nods now, and Jay knows that it’s going to take time for her to truly believe it, but he has no doubt that one day she will.

sooo… tell me more about that heiping smut. that sounds relevant to my interests for some reason. (yes, yes i just want to hear more about it bc i love it a lot. SO WHAT. DON'T JUDGE ME.)
(what if i put this one on anon! WHAT IF.)
Why, I can't imagine why a WiP titled "Laire fic heiping smut outtake" would be relevant to your interests! 😁 (And I have a feeling I would have known this one was you, too. CALL IT A HUNCH. XD)
[The WiP Title List, if anyone else would like to ask about one. ^_^]
ANYWAY, about a year ago, @laireshi wrote this AMAZING Heiping fic, Exploration, that had this line in the second paragraph:
It wasn’t as if he was actually expecting an answer, between Yaba’s inability to speak more than one sentence a week—and Xiazi was rather sure Yaba had used up all his words for the month begging in bed last night, and yes, he was very proud of himself for that one—and this having to do with the Zhang family’s Super Secret Stuff.
And that bit between the em-dashes caught me by the fucking THROAT and wouldn't let go. So I asked Laire if she would mind if I took a stab at writing that night before when Xiaoge used up his month's worth of words begging in bed, and her response was basically "YES PLEASE". ;D So I did. 😁
It's a bit under 3300 words now and I have maybe... one more scene to write plus some snuggling? I also have quite a bit more begging to get in for Xiaoge to fill that quota. XD So far most of his begging seems to be some variation of Hei Xiazi's name, but Xiazi doesn't seem to mind. ;D
But basically this has become an exercise of Hei Xiazi trying to figure out exactly how much soft pampering, how much teasing, and how many orgasms he can get away with giving Xiaoge before Xiaoge actually starts begging for real and not just screaming his name. 😏😁 So far we're at... three teases and two orgasms with Xiazi already planning round three?
It'll be a wonder Xiaoge can even WALK by the time the fic takes place. XD
(And yes, I just got distracted rereading the fic for the nth time while I was taking that tally. I really do need to finish this one and post it. MAYBE AFTER GRADING HELL WEEK IS DONE. AS A TREAT. 😁)
In the meantime... snippet behind the cut? Yeah. I think a snippet behind the cut. ^_^
Showers, Hei Xiazi had always thought, were a revelation.  They'd not been common place when he was born, but they'd been installed in the house as soon as they were available.  Xiazi had reveled in them then and continued to do so now.  The pounding of hot water on sore muscles, the buildup of steam opening pores and congested breathing, the speed with which the grime fell from his overworked body… yeah.  Still a revelation.  But sometimes, just sometimes, there was no replacement for a nice long soak in a hot bath.
Especially with the right company.
Xiazi slid his fingers back into Yaba's hair, massaging his scalp as he lathered, then letting his hands drift lower to the tight column of Yaba's neck and shoulders.  Did those muscles ever relax?  Sometimes Xiazi wondered if Yaba even knew the meaning of the word.  Digging his thumbs deeply into the muscles at the base of Yaba's neck, he slowly dragged them upwards to the knobs at the base of his skull.  Steady pressure, deep strokes, coaxing those muscles to unwind, to let go of their knots, to ease the headache that surely must be forming from all that tension.
After barely a minute of those gentle ministrations, Xiazi was rewarded with a subtle, barely-there shiver and a long, low moan.  Moments later, Yaba's head fell back to rest against Xiazi's shoulder, his body quickly following, settling softly into the curve of Xiazi's body.  Exactly what he'd been waiting for.
Xiazi rinsed his hands in the bathwater, then filled the bowl he'd left aside for just this purpose.  Shielding Yaba's eyes with one hand, he lifted the bowl and slowly rinsed the shampoo lather from his hair.  Bowl by bowl, the lather washed away into the tub to mingle with the water, leaving Yaba's hair sleek and soft, his body growing heavier against Xiazi with every bowl full of water that sluiced over his skin.
It wasn't often that Yaba let himself be taken care of like this.  It was weeks, months, sometimes years, after their each reacquaintance before Yaba would let his guard down enough to let Xiazi do this for him—before he could even begin to understand why Xiazi would want to.
After all, you maintained your tools, certainly, but you didn't buy them sweets.  You didn't hold them close while they slept.  You didn't coax and caress them until they agreed to let a day go by when they wouldn't be used.  You didn't show them affection.  And Yaba, Hei Xiazi had long since learned, viewed himself as nothing more than a tool, unless someone taught him otherwise.  And that was the worst thing of all.
But today, when Hei Xiazi had drawn a bath for himself, had teasingly invited Yaba to join him, Yaba had surprised him.  His expression had softened, those too long fingers drifting through Hei Xiazi's hair as their gazes met—one shielded and one guarded, though not so much as it had once been.  He'd left the bathroom, then, puttered around in the hotel room for a while, turning off lights as he moved.  He left only one lamp lit, softly reflected light the only illumination once he was done.
"Admit it, you just want to get a gander at my gorgeous eyes, don't you?" Hei Xiazi had said, as Yaba returned and slipped the black glasses from his face.
Yaba had shaken his head, a smile so fond crossing his lips that Xiazi's breath caught in his chest like a lovesick teenager's.  Moments later, Yaba was peeling out of his clothes and slipping into the tub, and here they'd been ever since.

Moonlight Gardens
Kurt and Jocelyn go for a walk in the gardens under a starry sky. Cute dorks, look at em.
Written as a commission for @jocelynships!
“Liebchen, I have a surprise for you,” Kurt grinned down at her, his darling Jocelyn, taking her smaller hands in his.
She tilted her head to the side, smirking up at him, “Kurt, you’ve done nothing but give me surprises. Or should I call them mishaps?”
He figured she was talking about the incident of last week that had Kurt stuck in Spider-Man’s webbing. That stuff was incredibly difficult to get off, and if you so much as stepped your foot on it, you’d start to tangle yourself into it. Thus, it took four people, including Jocelyn, to pry all the sticky string off of him.Yeah, when working with Spider-Man, watch where you’re stepping. Noted.
“No,” he insisted, walking along with her, “This is not a mishap, this is a good surprise, an intentional one this time, I promise you.”
A bubbly laugh escaped the girl’s throat, shaking her head, putting one foot in front of the other. They were walking down the streets of New York, Kurt guiding them both. It wasn’t often that Kurt didn’t use his cloaking device, so for right now at least, he kept it on. Being a Mutant was something he always struggled with. Even with Jocelyn accepting him, showing him immense love and affection, in public, when not doing hero things, he kept the cloaking device on. Saved him the trouble and the stares.
“Alright, alright, I trust you,” the blonde replied, as Kurt gently squeezed her hands, “I know it’s a surprise, but where are we going? I’ve never been this way.”
“You’ll love it. I found it while scouting the area a while ago. It’s not in the heart of the city, it’s more of the more quiet places. You’ll see.”
A few minutes later, the two stumbled upon a beautiful park garden, surrounded by hedges and flowers. There were benches and a few fountains. The meadows in the evening glowed from the lamp posts along the walkways. The sun had just set too; the beautiful rays of sunset had disappeared, left with shimmering stars in the night sky. That’s how Kurt had planned it, right on time. He led his girlfriend with a hand on her back into the stunning, peaceful garden. Nobody was there, which was even better. Seeing nobody around, with a click, he turned his cloaking device off, the original true Kurt appearing.
“Kurt, this is beautiful,” Jocelyn softly breathed.
A grin crossed his face, looking down at her reactions as they walked down the path filled with roses and hydrangea bushes, “Isn’t it? Well, you, my Prinzessin, are just as, if not more beautiful than all of this.”
Oh, Jocelyn couldn’t even speak, her cheeks immediately turned a bright pink. Kurt had known just from seeing that, that he did his job.
“Come on,” he then urged them on, walking towards a bench that was situated in the middle of the gardens, facing the three tired fountains made out of stone. Being the gentleman he was, Kurt offered a seat to her first before sitting beside her, then pulled her close to him with his hand. His tail wrapped itself around the small of her back for extra support, having her lean on his shoulder. The quietness with the bubble of the fountain and the crickets that hid in the bushes was so calming, a breath of fresh air to the couple.
“Life with the Avengers and the X-Men is never quiet, so once I found this place, I knew I had to bring you here,” Nightcrawler murmured, running a hand through her long hair, “Just for a little while.”
The two took in the beauty of their surroundings for a few minutes in silence, basking in the warmth of each other’s company. The moon made itself known as a crescent this evening, shining brightly. It was a stunning, beautiful evening to hold close that was dear to you. A soft laugh escaped Kurt out of the blue, “Look at all those constellations up there, huh?”
“I see em, babe,” Joce murmured softly, looking up at the sky with him, “They are so pretty.”
After a while, Jocelyn got up, taking Kurt’s hand, “I wanna look at the flowers, Kurt.”
And so the two wrapped an arm around each other as they went over to a patch of beautiful lilies and peonies. The whole scene felt dreamlike. The pair kept looking up at each other with soft, dorky smiles at one another. They both wouldn’t have it any other way. They nuzzled their noses together, and Kurt laughed softly at the way that his petite flower had to stand on her toes to do so.
“Ich liebe dich,” he quickly kissed the top of her nose and then her head, pulling her into a tight, warm hug, “I love you so much, Jocelyn. You are the light of my life…I don’t think I could’ve made it this far in life without you, you know.”
“Kurt-”
“No seriously, I mean it. Ever since I met you, that day that I met you, and the days I’d meet you after that? I knew it would never be the same. And here you are, with me, my love, right now under the stars.”
“Now that is one of the most romantic things you have ever said to me,” Jocelyn kissed his cheek before joking with a smirk, “I think it tops you calling for help to get those webs off of you.”
“But that wasn’t romantic though.”
“Oh no, but it was funny.”
“You thought that was funny? C’mere-” Kurt raised an eyebrow before he gently leaned down to kiss his partner on the lips. Through their kiss, they giggled like kids. Kurt never thought that he would ever have someone to love or have love returned. He was wrong. Once he had Jocelyn, he knew things would be okay. Not everything was perfect in his life, and he knew that, but one thing was for certain: the perfect thing he would never let go of was this short, sweet, and kind girl who had become his world.

Seeds of Spring
Got some time tonight, and I figured it would be worth doing some writing. Not for anything particular, mind you - just for its own sake.
I've been doing better. The promises of the last post - and that final piece of myself pulled back into place, and that haunt solved - have continued to yield dividends. For the first time in almost ten years, I can write again - and have, just for fun and just for kicks. As planning and projects go, I feel stronger; I've been catching up on things and working on bigger projects than I have in a long time. Tonight, even, I finished writing up profiles of all the known regions in the game world - something that would have been largely unthinkable the last near-decade. It feels marvelous. It's nice to feel like myself again, at least in this way (but with it, many others, too).
But nevertheless, that's not what I'm here to write about. Not that I'm here to write about anything in particular, mind you - I'm just here to write whatever comes to mind. For instance: we're going camping over the next few days. Out in the woods, of course, several hours away; and it'll likely be very rainy, and I'm hoping our tent doesn't soak through like it did last time we did rainy camping; but camping at all, which I've been sorely missing. I had the week off and Hearthsnail was able to take a few days off; and we're going to meet my uncle up there too, and that'll be nice. Frankly, even if it ends in a huge wet mess, I'll just be happy to have gone and tried it. I feel like I haven't had enough of those experiences in my life for a long while - Hearthsnail is generally very risk-averse, and it means we don't try things as often as I'm generally motivated to. But even bad camping trips make for good stories and lessons learned and wellsprings of inspiration, and by the gods, I need more of that in my life.
So that's where we're at with that. Figure we'll do the meal prep and packing tomorrow. It should be nice, one way or another.
As for other things... I've been enjoying the rain, as I often do. We had a power outage from the last storm a couple weeks ago - that was nice. I honestly enjoy the sort of quieter, slower pace of the day that comes with a power outage. We spent some time playing board games, and reading, and spending time together in ways that tend not to happen when there are computers around to be distracting; and we rediscovered candles on rainy days, and burned through 'em all (we only had a few left) and ought to get more. The downsides are of course (1) cooking and hot meals, and (2) worry about a fridgefull of food spoiling, but we ended up doing takeout for a few meals and the fridge appeared to come out of things mostly fine. So, all in all, not bad.
Winding myself down before bed right now. Listening to and half-watching more massage videos, as I've been wont to do recently... On the one hand it's vaguely embarrassing, and on the other don't knock it if it works. They consistently calm me down and make me sleepy, which is a godsend with my brain working as-normal again (which is to say, in overdrive, permanently) (did I tell you the part where I originally went to therapy for sleep problems? because I couldn't turn my brain off enough to go to sleep?). It's also done a lot to help with nervous system regulation during the day, which is nice in and of itself.
Aie aie aie. Thoughts on that for another time. Mostly about a friend, and all the complexities therein and in between. Nonetheless, there are thoughts.
Hmm. What else to write about? I suppose it doesn't matter - I ought to be going to bed soon anyway. Slept like absolute crap last night, hoping I don't do so again. I ought to pick some individual topics to write about soon - for the practice, if nothing else.

MEDICAL UPDATE
Warning: this post will discuss stuff about kidney stones, urine, medical prep, body functions, that kind of stuff. If that stuff grosses you out, you have been warned.
Ok so you remember when I said a while back that I had kidney stones? No? Well, long story short, I had 3 of em. Anyways..
A few weeks ago, I felt what I believe was a stone moving, so I told my mom and we set up a plan: take the remaining tamsulosin i had from the last stone [the date was still good] and call my doctor.
Later on, one night, I was lying in bed sleeping and I then feel something akin to trying to push something through a hole but it got stuck. The next few days, I started having pains in the lower belly area and where my bladder is.
Then the dry-heaving began. It was time to go to the doctor.
The appointment comes, doc has me do a urine test, it came out normal. But he did think something was going on, so he scheduled an IVP and ultrasound to check things out.
Well, today was that day. And yes, I had to do prep. Which was the worst pain I've ever experienced, and I've had an oblong kidney stone go through me.
Let me just say this: you should NOT fuck around with magnesium citrate. That shit is so nauseatingly sweet that you will gag or feel sick at even thinking about it afterwards. Plus it BURNS going down. Also, by any means, DO NOT DRINK IT WHILE IN A MOVING VEHICLE. (My mom was looking after my grandma, so they picked me up to go to her house since itd be a shorter trip to the hospital).
(A side note, I had to do a clear liquid diet after I took the magnesium, so I felt so envious when I saw my mom and grandma eat solid food. The broth I drank tasted like Lipton's Noodle Soup, so it did help fake fullness).
And you thought the entry of the magnesium drink was bad, wait til you hear about the exit. It BURNS. You will be ABSOLUTELY RAW. You will cry. I sure did. It stings because the liquid coming out of you is the magnesium citrate, which is a saline solution. Saline, for those of you who don't know, is salt water. SALT WATER ON RAW SKIN. Now you can imagine the pain.
Also, my grandma's house has no AC whatsoever, at least upstairs where I slept (I had to sleep there because the room I had was the closest to the bathroom). I'm also heat sensitive, so that mixed with dehydration was not a fun time. When I fell asleep, I woke up thinking I was dead because I could hardly move. But that's my fault for taking my regular meds along with a Unisom gelcap. But I couldn't sleep well because of my constant bathroom trips and the constant burning from what I said before.
Now, the actual appointment. We get there, got me signed in, and I'm taken to the ultrasound room. The lady was very nice and friendly, but when she scanned me with the scanner and she pushed down, OH GOD THE PAIN. I think it hurt more because my body was still tender from the prep, I was very tired, and I'm sensitive to pain, so I'm not blaming the woman. She was just doing her job. But I was ready to scream. Luckily it wasnt long til it was done.
Then after that, i was sent back for my IVP. What they do is, they have you in nothing but your underwear, shoes, socks, and a hospital gown and you have to lay on this table under what looks like a sci-fi machine but is basically an x-ray machine. And they put an IV in you to inject a contrast dye so they can see everything clearer. Now I've always had difficulty with IVs and getting blood drawn because of my deep veins (it's genetic!), but the lady that did it was a champ, it barely even hurt. But the tourniquets were SHEER PAIN. After all of that though, it was smooth sailing. Some re-positioning, some more pics, a few standing pics, then we were done.
After that, I was finally able to eat and go home and sleep. Guys, food is a great thing. So is sleep.
I'm starting to recover and I'm doing better than before. My next appointment with my urologist is on the 6th, so we'll see what they find.
Anywho, that's that. Imma sleep now.

that’s not a shirt
pairing: marcus pike / reader
word count: 1584
summary: marcus comes home from work & finds the strangest thing in the laundry.
a/n: for @autumnleaves1991-blog and her wednesday writing challenge! writing domestic marcus pike is my therapy. unbeta’d and posted from mobile (honestly my laptop is becoming less convenient to post from even tho posting fic on tumblr is literally the reason i bought it last year)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
three long, miserable weeks. that’s how long marcus has been out of town for a case that had him jetting all across the country, far away from you and your comfortable bed. he’s almost never at the apartment he pays rent for every month. most of his clothes and his favorite pillow are at your place, and the small quilt his grandmother sewed decades ago is draped over the back of your couch. in everything but name, he lived with you.
when he entered your apartment with his key, he took note of the fact you weren’t there and got set to cleaning up a bit. work leaves you exhausted more often than not and he doesn’t want to leave everything undone for you to worry about when you get home.
upon first glance, he could see the laundry was half done. a heaping load of clean clothes was in the hamper in front of the dryer and there were wet clothes in the open washer. when he looked further, there was also a load in the dryer, which told him that you stayed up late to get things done then fell asleep on the couch waiting for the dryer to finish. with a fond smile, he started the dryer for a few minutes to get wrinkles out of what’s in there. when those are done, he can get what’s in the hamper unwrinkled and hung and folded.
dinner was next on the to-do list. something nourishing to welcome you home after a long day but simple enough to do while catching up the clothes: spaghetti. there’s something about his mom’s recipe for the sauce that makes his spaghetti absolutely heavenly — your words, not his — and he can’t wait to see your reaction to having marcus home two days earlier than planned along with his best dish.
in the time it takes him to get the sauce cooking and the water boiling on the stove, the dryer announces that it’s finished with the first load. he hums as he folds the bath towels and dish rags without a care in the world, making the trip to stow them in the bathroom cabinet with a spring to his step.
checks the sauce for flavor and consistency before putting the second load of wrinkled clothes in the dryer, finding it needs just a smidge more rosemary before it can be left to simmer. picks another sprig from the plant you keep on the windowsill and cuts the leaves very fine before sprinkling them in with a flick of his wrist.
satisfied with his efforts, he turns back to the laundry. he dutifully empties the lint filter (you’re adamant on emptying it after every load and the trait passed onto him) before he begins to grab things to toss into the dryer. about a third of the way through the basket, his hand grabbed onto something weirdly solid and plump.
“mroww!”
last marcus checked, shirts don’t make noises like that. he tore his gaze from the inside of the dryer to the hamper to find a grey and white kitten lounging in the hamper. the little thing was nudging his hand with their head, clearly wanting the attention of the man slowly depleting its bed. he was perplexed. you didn’t have a cat when he was last here, but there was one seeming to be perfectly content in making itself at home in your apartment.
“where did you come from?” he knew the cat wasn’t going to give him a coherent answer but he felt the need to voice his confusion anyway. the first thing to do now: check to see if it’s male or female. it’s a female, looks to be about three months old and is perfectly content with being handled by marcus.
marcus can’t recall the last time he had a pet. with him being too busy with work, he never thought it would be fair to a pet to have an owner constantly gone. he didn’t have enough stability in the past with where he lived and didn’t want to only be a half ass pet parent. the past several months, however, have been nothing but stable. not counting the seldom out of town cases, he goes to work in the morning and comes home to you in the evening, and he rinses and repeats as needed. maybe this kitten is the perfect prelude to taking the next big step in his relationship with you.
for now though, marcus doesn’t let himself get carried away with his daydreams about living with you full time. he’s got laundry to finish and dinner to cook, and now he has a sous chef to accompany him. he holds the kitten to his chest, scratching her chin with a hooked finger and melting at the way she looks up as if telling him to keep going. “alright sweet girl, let’s finish up dinner.” a soft “mrrow!” is her reply and it makes marcus huff a quiet laugh.
dinner is completed with marcus using one less hand than normal, his sous chef being fabulous company. the few times he had to use both hands, his feline friend perched on his shoulder (which he thought was the best thing ever) and waited to be held again. however this cat got here, marcus didn’t know; the one thing he did know is that it wasn’t leaving anytime soon.
the front door was unlocked when you came home and you knew with absolute certainty that you locked it before you left. your walmart bags filled with cat supplies were immediately dropped to the hallway floor as you began to inspect your front door and the area around it. marcus taught you how to spot the basic signs of forced entry (like the protective sweetheart he is) and when none of them were there, you cautiously entered your apartment, mace in hand.
the adrenaline washed away when you spotted your loving boyfriend in the kitchen, gently bobbing his head along to whatever music he had playing. one hand was stirring a pot on the stove while the other was plenty preoccupied with the kitten. shit, you forgot to warn him about the kitten before he got home!
this was the last thing you thought would be here to greet you, but it was a very welcome sight; the feline was finicky and marcus wasn’t due home for another few days, a double whammy. “i see you’ve met the kitten.” you’re honestly just thankful he didn’t get upset about the little thing. neither of you have talked about pets or whatever your living situation is becoming, so the way he seems so taken with the kitten is a sign pointing in a great direction.
when he hears your voice, marcus visibly lights up. “hi honey!” the hand with the spoon immediately drops the wooden utensil into the pot and waves at you happily. “this is my sous chef, say hello, pasta!” he grabs one of her little paws and waves it at you before resuming his stirring, a beaming smile on his face.
did he really just name the cat pasta? and how in the world is she so calm with him right now?
you found the kitten, now known as pasta, huddled in a cardboard box beside a gas station dumpster headed home from work. she was mewling her little head off back there and you were lucky enough to hear her. taking her and her box, your list of things to do was thrown out the window as you rushed her to the vet. they cleaned her up real good and schedule her vaccinations, and sent you home with a list of supplies to buy and advice on how to take care of the little thing.
she was pissed at you after the vet trip. didn’t let you pet or hold her unless she was in the mood for it and if you tried to pick her up otherwise, she would scatter and give you a glare from a safe distance away. but here was marcus holding her like a baby, and the little brat was eating it up! to be fair, you were the same way with marcus when he was being affectionate so you didn’t completely blame her.
“why pasta?” you knew that cats were more likely than dogs to have strange names. you just didn’t think your boyfriend would be the type to give a cat a name like pasta. at that rate, you might as well name a dog goose and call it a day.
he smiles at the furball, giving her a few affectionate pets while he talks. “i was cooking spaghetti when i found her in the laundry hamper, and then i noticed a little spot right on her hip that looks like penne. i couldn’t choose between the two so i went for the middle ground. is that okay with you? or did she have another-”
“marcus, i love it.” and you really do; that sentimental dork just made you love the name pasta with nothing but two sentences. “and honestly, i’ve just been rotating between baby girl, squeak toy, and dumbass since i found her the day before yesterday.”
he scratches pasta under her chin as he laughs at the thought of you calling his sous chef a dumbass. “pasta is not a dumbass! you tell ‘em sweetheart, tell them how smart you are!”
“mroww!”
“see? she’ll be the next einstein.”

You had been on the couch watching Peter pan but now your morning sickness kicked in. You were home from school today due to it being a half-day, your dad was at the store. So you were home alone and throwing up in the toilet with Dodger staring at you concerned while he whimpered. Once you were done you washed your face and brushed your teeth before you went back to the couch to finish the movie. After you posted the photo showing you were home there were rumors as to why. A few gruesome ones, like your mom died, (in all different ways) and a few normal less gruesome ones, such as your dad was able to get full custody of you.You ignored them you were planning on sharing the real reason tomorrow.
"Sweet-pea! I'm home!" You heard your dad say when he entered the house a few bags of groceries in his hands.
"Hey dad!" You said looking over the couch to look at him.
"Hey you okay? Seeing all those rumors?" He asked from the kitchen as he began putting everything away. You got up and walked in.
"Yeah haven't been on social media much since I got out of school I've been watching movies. And I think I have some baby names." You told him excitedly as you began to help him.
"What happened to not picking a names until you knew the genders?" He asked smirking at you.
"Don't worry one of them are after you." You said. He looked at you smiling silently begging you to continue. "No! You don't get to know! But I'll tell you the middle name ideas I have." You said.
"Continue." He smiled at you.
"Okay, so Christopher and Scott are the middle names if I have boys." You said continuing putting away the groceries.
"Okay what about the girl names?" He asked.
"Maxine, and of course the basic white girl middle name of Anne." You said giggling.
"Basic white girl name?" He shook his head at you but you could see the small smile on his face. "The other one is cute though." He said.
"I know!" You told him smiling.
"And Scott will also be happy will one of those names... He's been telling me how you were definitely going to name your baby after him." He explained, you giggled.
"Because I already told him." You said giggling.
"Sweet-pea how could you tell him first! I'm your dad!" He feigned offense before you both laughed. "But really those are great middle names. Especially the first one you said." He smirked at you. "Okay I'm going to make dinner you can get a movie set up for us to watch okay Bubba?" He asked.
"Okay. What movie?" You asked him.
"You pick bubba." You nodded leaving the kitchen Dodger following.
----
You stood in front of the mirror looking down at you baby bump, phone in hand. Unbeknownst to your dad you were doing this. He was outside with Dodger and you told him you were doing your homework. Of course he'd know that was a lie once this photo goes around. You faced your camera to the mirror the bump was clear from your side you took the photo. You went onto Instagram, a bunch of notifications from your last post filing in. You clicked the new post, you picked your photo before writing a brief caption that said:
"As my last post has cause many questions maybe this with clear some things up. Two new Evans are due in November. I prefer not to go into detail about anything about me being home or about the babies or their father, I just prefer the media and my dad's fans stay out of it. I hope you all can respect that."
You hesitated reading over the caption as many times as possible. Before setting your phone down not posting the picture. You sighed sitting on your bed. You looked back at your phone grabbing it and turning the comments for the post off before quickly clicking it then going down stairs and outside where Chris sat.
"Dad I posted a photo of my baby bump everyone knows." You sat next him sighing. He looked down at you. He pulled you into his side giving you a reassuring smile.
"I told you not to post anything bubs." He mumbled. "Has anyone said anything yet?"
"I turned the comments off..." You mumbled into his shirt.
"That was a good idea. You gotta show me how to do that Bubba." He leaned over kissing the top of your head.
You giggled. "Okay old man." His phone dinged and he looked at it and sighed.
"Well your post is getting attention. Sebastian and Mackie and asking if it's true." He showed you his phone.
"Ooh call'em I want to say hi." You sat up leaning your head on his shoulder. He chuckled shaking his head before face timing them.
"Hey lil Evans!" Mackie said seeing you. "Are you pulling a late April fools prank or was that post real?" He asked.
"It was real... I forgot you guys follow me." You said.
"Your gonna be mom aren't you like 10?" Sebastian asked, slightly teasingly. "Wait... We're you not gonna tell us if we didn't see that post?"
"I'm 15. And before you ask any questions about the babies, I'm having twins, the dad knows, he doesn't want them, I'm 12 weeks along I don't know the genders, and... I think that's all.. Oh and that's why I live with dad, and no I'd tell you eventually, probably next time I saw you and you met the babies." You rambled.
"Who is the dad?" Sebastian asked.
"Jake." You mumbled.
"And your good with this? Two new babies in your house?" Anthony asked Chris.
"We already talked 4 weeks ago when I found out." Chris said.
"You've known for four weeks and didn't tell us Y/n I thought I was your favorite uncle?" Sebastian pouted at you thought the screen.
"Hey I thought I was your favorite uncle!" Anthony said.
"Why do I need to have a favorite?"
"I'll be the babies favorite uncle." Anthony said
"With all of the people I've told about the babies you guys are definitely the most chill about it." You muttered before looking at your phone eyes widening at how many people have already liked the post already. And the press was probably already writing about it.
"Okay bye guys we'll talk to you later." Your dad said before hanging up the face time.
"I think I made a mistake I shouldn't have posted it, dad!! I shouldn't even be a mom now I'm putting my kids into the media! Dad, I had the privilege of not being in the media often since I lived in texas no one is gonna go there and try to take photos rednecks would shoot em! My kids have to live where ever you are because I'm a minor! I'm so dumb! I should've kept it a secret." You rested your head on his shoulder as you rambled. He sighed not knowing how to calm you down so he just looked down at you rubbing your shoulder. "Oh not to mention what is someone from town sees that! They'll all know and show Jake or mom! My kids won't even have their father! Only a mom. I can't take care of the babies I can't even drive! What am I going to do take them to school on a bicycle?" Your rambling continued.
"Bubba... You'll be able to drive when they start going to school besides you have me. Don't worry about town. Or the press." He said. To be honest those were thought he's been having it was why he didn't want you to tell the press. You grew up in a small town in texas with a whole bunch of rednecks even if the paparazzi found out where you lived the town would've chased them away, not because they liked you but because rednecks are crazy. If you still lived there press would be a lot less of a problem. And for the whole, your kids won't have a father thing he knew even if their dad wouldn't be there he would be the best male role model he can for them. But he also noticed that if you weren't at school or work you were always busying your mind, with homework or reading you barely read before. He could only assume it was because of the breakup and being kicked out. Just a way for you not to think of them. Dodger ran over licking your hand as you continued your rant to your dad.
"Shh, bubba." He cooed softly as your rant ended. "I told you, you're not going to be alone. I'll be there to help you the whole way."

I don’t have much to say except I appreciate your patience with me as I worked on this piece! I apologize again for all the confusion with posting and deleting and now reposting. This is the third part to my Dad!Harry series. Once again you don’t have to read those to understand this one, but I’ve linked them below in case you would like to revisit them. :)
Thank you to @taintedwonder for reading over part of this for me!

I Want Your Belly (part one) | Wonderful and Warm (part two) | writing tag | masterlist
y’all have already been so good to me but as always likes, rbs, and comments are welcome!!
//
Of all the weeks to be put on bed rest, it had to be the week that Harry started filming for his new movie role.
Technically you were on modified bed rest, which meant resting as much as possible but still moving around as necessary, but the phrase terrified Harry enough that he was doing whatever he could to keep you still. It hadn’t been an easy task, you were in your 8th month of pregnancy, quickly approaching your due date, and there still seemed to be a mountain of important things to get done before your son’s arrival.
It had only been two days since you’d started having what you thought were contractions. It had forced you and Harry to realize just how unprepared the two of you were when you had to rush out of the house at 2 a.m. with nothing packed for what could possibly be the night of your child’s appearance into the world. Just the two of you with disheveled hair and rumpled pajamas under the harsh lighting of the ER exam room. 8 hours of tests and scans and a visit from your doctor later, you returned home to fall back in bed and catch up on the sleep you had missed.
“Listen you’re both new to all this..I get it. But you’re putting too much stress on your body and that’s what caused this tonight. I know it’s hard but, take a week, relax, bed rest as much as possible. I’ll see you in my office again in a few days just to make sure everything is progressing along like we want. If there’s still too much stress on the baby, we may have to push your due date up a little earlier. But we don’t want to do that if we can avoid it.”
Currently you were in the nursery, where most of the last minute things to do remained. You were standing at the changing table, folding a set of onesies to be put away. Harry had been urging you for the past 10 minutes to sit down.
“Harry, I have been in bed all night, or as much of it as your son allowed me to be without kicking me in the ribs or pressing on my bladder. I just wanna get these folded and put away and I’ll be done.”
“Well you can at least sit while y’doing them. Or, let me finish ‘em.” His hands fall on your shoulders, gently guiding you towards the rocking chair in the corner. You gesture for him to bring the basket closer, “And why is he only my son when he’s causing you trouble?”
“Maybe cause it was your birthday treat that got us into this mess. Or because he already likes to tease us so much. Besides, you can’t do them, I have a system.”
“Yeah, a birthday treat planned by you. And I know the system, you showed me two days ago.”
“You knew the system, we changed it.”
“We? I’ve barely been home how’ve we..”
“I may have called your Mum again.” You shrug, propping your feet up on the small ottoman positioned in front of the chair, “She and I agreed it’s better this way.”
“You didn’t think it was important to notify me of this system you and y’new bestie have thought up?” He’s turned to lean his back against the changing table, arms folded across his chest. As much as he wants to be upset, he’s over the moon that you and Anne have become so much closer over the past few months. Between his mom and yours, plus your sister and his, he was thrilled to see you had so much support for days when he couldn’t be there. Anne had offered to fly out to spend the week with you, as did your mom, but you put them both off, promising you would need them more the few weeks after the birth.
“Been a little busy growing a human here, Harry. May have slipped my mind. I would’ve gotten around to it eventually.”
“Right, you can just tell me where everything goes then.” He’s already worked his way through folding the last of the pile, smiling proudly at you as you lean your head back and close your eyes, sinking further into the chair.
“Socks in the second drawer to the left, hats in the middle. If the onesies are newborn sized, they go to the right. Anything bigger than that gets tucked in the baskets by size there in the middle shelf of the closet, if you can find room.”
Between the two of your families and your group of mutual friends, you’d been given 4 baby showers over the past few months, combining with the items you and Harry had supplied for yourselves. People had been more than generous in helping stock the nursery for your little one.
“All done. How ‘bout some breakfast now?”
“You don’t have time. You have to be on set in less than an hour. I’ll make myself something in a bit. I may go back to sleep for a while, just got up to see you off and wanted to put those things away.”
“Always have time for you, angel,” He offers his hand to help you lift yourself up, “Maybe a smoothie?”
“Alright, if I let you make me a smoothie, will you take yours to go? Don’t want you to be late because of me.”
“Deal. But only if you let me tuck you back into bed before I go.”
“Deal.” You lean up slightly to accept the sweet kiss he offers before shuffling off to the kitchen together.
//
“Harry?”
“Hmm?”
“I’ve decided. You’re not allowed to look.”
You knew he wasn’t listening, trying to maybe, but not really. He sits across the room at the desk in the corner of your bedroom, glasses perched on the end of his nose, guitar in his lap, journal open in front of him. He’s in writing mode, something that usually takes you at least 30 minutes to coax him from and convince him to come to bed. Not that you ever wanted to interrupt his process, but tonight you’re feeling anxious about your impending delivery, dread slowing working its way through your body.
It had been only a few days since your follow up appointment with your doctor. She had deemed you fit to come off bed rest, but urged you to continue to try to keep your stress level to a minimum as much as possible. Easier said than done, but you were finding small ways to relax yourself when you could; meditation, music, reading. But tonight you just wanted Harry for reassurance.
In your nightly scroll through one of your recent favorite mom-to-be blogs, you had come across an article on the difficulty of delivery. You appreciated moms who were brave enough to share their stories online and this person in particular had included a video. Despite your anxiety, you clicked to watch, curiosity overriding any fear rising in your chest.
When he finally puts away the guitar and the journal and sheds his soft purple robe to swim up the bed to settle next to you, he asks, “Were y’sayin’ something earlier, m’love? Got lost there for a bit, m’sorry.”
His writing sessions were normally done in his office or the studio, but the past few weeks he’d preferred to do them here. Liked the idea of you trying to softly hum along to a new tune he was working through, occasionally offering your opinions about what you liked or didn’t. It was rare that you disliked anything, but he liked that you didn’t shy away from being honest with him. His favorite though? The sight of you, an open book, hand always resting on the side of your belly while you read. It was just as much a comfort for him to be near you these days as it was for you.
“Yeah. I’ve decided. You’re not allowed to look when I deliver this baby.”
His head rests on your thigh, only the side of his face visible as he looks up at you, but it’s enough to see the disappointment flash before he composes himself, not wanting to upset you.
“Alright. What d’you mean by that? Like..you don’t want me in the room or..”
“No, no, I want you in the room, that was never a question. You’re just not allowed to look when I’m pushing. I watched a video and I’m traumatized and I just..”
He sits up quickly, “You watched a birthing video? Without me?”
“Yeah, earlier when you were zoned out. You’ve never seen one?”
“Never been curious enough to watch one ‘til now. Not ‘til I thought of you having our babe. Show me the one you watched?”
You’re hesitant. Truly you’re touched he’s so curious and wants to share this experience with you, but right now the thought of him seeing your body change like that is scary. He senses your unease, almost reads your mind; he knows you so well.
“Babe, s’your body. If you really don’t want me t’look, then I won’t. Just..at least show me what you watched so I can see for myself what it’s like, what you’ll go through. S’all m’askin’ for now.”
“Okay, fine,” You pat the bed next to you and he scurries up to sit, his head on your shoulder while you navigate through your browser history to find the video. You start it, but your eyes stay focused on his face.
“Y’not gonna watch it again with me?”
“No,” You drape your arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer so you can rest your head on top of his, “I’d rather watch your reactions this time around.”
You’re curious to see how he reacts to certain parts; his little gasps and winces as the video progresses. When it ends, you’re not surprised to see tears have fallen down his face and made a small wet spot on the front of his t-shirt.
“Harry, you’re not upset with me, are you?”
“‘Course not, meant what I said earlier. If you really don’t want me t’look, then I won’t..but I don’t want you to think I’ll look at you any differently after. You’re givin’ me one of the greatest gifts anyone ever has, if anything I love you more than I ever thought I could. And that’s only gonna grow once our boy’s here.”
You run your hands through his hair, not sure what to say. You’ve never had a love this big, one that envelops you so fully. The past few months have shown you just how deeply he cares for you, and just how much your own heart could stretch to fill with your overwhelming love for Harry and now the baby growing inside you.
He doesn’t take offense to your silence, just stills your hand and brings it to his lips, kissing each of your fingertips. He slumps further down the bed, head level with your stomach. He pokes it softly through your shirt. He doesn’t even have to ask anymore, you know what he wants and you’re glad to give in to him. You scoot down to rest your head on your pillow, pulling your shirt up and tucking the fabric under your breasts.
Instantly his head rests on your tummy, a hand reaching around to lay there on the other side of it, wrapping himself around you. You reach over and turn the lamp on your bedside table off, sleep drifting it’s way through your body and mind. You let one hand fall to his back, the other one joining his arm to wrap protectively around your belly.
“Harry?”
“Hmm?”
“You can look. If you want.”
“Y’don’t have to decide tonight. We still have a little time to plan.”
“No. I don’t want to take any of this experience from you. The whole thing’s just a bit scary though.”
“I know it is, m’terrified too. But everything’s gonna be alright. I’m gonna be there for every second of it.”
“I know you are. You’re the only thing that’s kept me sane through all this. You’ve been so good to me, H. Putting up with all my mood swings and late night cravings and whatever I needed.”
“I haven’t had to ‘put up’ with anything. Just want to make you and bub as happy as y’both already make me.” He turns to kiss the side of your stomach before looking up at you, “Comfy? Am I squishin’ you?”
“No, it’s nice. Don’t see how you can be comfy though.”
“I’ll move to my pillow in a bit. Just like being close to you and bub,” He yawns, “Goodnight, babe. Love you both so much.”
“We love you too, Harry. More than you’ll ever know.”
//
Sleep had been pretty much non-existent in your third trimester. You were lucky if you got a few hours each night and cat naps throughout the day were rare.
Tonight is no different. It’s 3 a.m and once you get up for your fifth trip to the bathroom, you know there’s no point in trying to get comfortable again. Harry will be up soon, and as much as he tries to stay quiet during his morning routine, he always found some way to unintentionally wake you. You couldn’t even sleep through his soft kisses to your forehead to say goodbye anymore.
Normally you take yourself down to the living room to find a mindless tv show or movie to carry you through your insomnia, but Harry also seemed to be infected with your curse of being a light sleeper these days. Most nights he would attempt to join you, sweet enough to not want you to be alone, stubborn enough to not listen each time you urged him to go back to bed. He always paid for it the day after though, dark circles under his eyes and nodding off to sleep throughout whatever he had scheduled.
So in hopes that you wouldn’t wake him by leaving tonight, you reach for the remote to the bedroom tv, muting it so the noise won’t disturb him. You would almost be content enough to stare at him for the rest of the night. The sharp outline of his jaw, freckles scattered across his face that would rival the constellations in the sky, all softened by the moonlight illuminating his face perfectly. As much as you don’t want to wake him, you can’t help but reach out to run the back of your hand over the smooth skin of the man you admire so much. You adore the way even in his sleep he molds to your touch, soft snores and deep, even breaths never stopping as you move up to brush his curls away from his face.
You almost make it through 20 minutes of a movie before his eyes flutter open. You know how much your false contractions from before weighed on him, alarm is quick to flood his face before he has a chance to take in his surroundings.
You answer before he has a chance to let worry take over, “It’s alright. We’re okay. Just the usual..couldn’t sleep.”
He rubs his eyes to clear them, “What time s’it?”
“4:30.”
He squints slightly at the movie playing before chuckling, “How many times y’think you’ve watched this one? Know it’s been at least a dozen or so in the last month.”
“It’s my favorite. One of them, anyway. It’s always been soothing to me.”
“Bet you could quote the whole thing by now, even with it muted.”
You glance up at the tv and it only takes a second for you to pinpoint the exact part. You take his comment as a challenge, pushing yourself up out of your nest of pillows to rest your back against the headboard before quoting, “Faith is a bluebird you see from afar. It’s for real, and as sure as the first evening star. You can’t touch it, or buy it, or wrap it up tight. But it’s there just the same, making things turn out right.”
Your voice breaks as you say the last few words. Maybe it’s the combination of exhaustion and all the new fears and hormones running through your mind and body. Nostalgia of watching this when you were younger and now sharing it with your child when they are old enough touches your heart and you can’t stop the tears continuously streaming down your face.
“Baby,” He pushes himself up to rest next to you, tugging you until you're pressed close to his side, “Please don’t cry.”
“M’miserable, Harry. I’m as big as the moon and I can’t breathe and my feet always hurt and I’m just..ready for him to be here. Ready for him to be out so I can hold him and kiss him and put him in his own bed so I can rest in mine again.”
You know you sound childish and whiny and somewhat ridiculous, but being so sleep deprived means all sense has left and so the words come spilling out, a jumbled mess you doubt he even understood.
“I know you are, love. Hate to see you so upset,” He kisses the top of your head, “Certainly as bright as the moon, but not as big. Your body’s as exactly as it should be. I know it doesn’t feel like it now, but that’s only cause you’re tired. He’ll be here soon and we’ll have so many people here to help, yeah?”
All you can do is nod, you know he’s right and you know once you have a nap things won’t feel so overwhelming. You pull yourself away from him to wipe your face on your t-shirt. A smile stretches across your lips as the thought enters your mind, “If I’m as bright as the moon, you’re as golden as the sun.”
“Yeah?” He’s blushing now, looking down at his hands before his eyes dart up to meet yours, “Guess that makes bub our little star, huh?”
You giggle before shrugging, “Guess so.”
“By the way,” His hand rests on your thigh, “We gonna keep calling him bub or we gonna pick a name?”
“Bub’s cute. Bub Styles.” You wrinkle your nose at the thought, “I just want it to be perfect for him, you know? I feel like I need to see his face before I just blindly pick a name. We could definitely narrow down some options though and see which one suits him best.”
“We’ll think of something special, eh? Somethin’ just f’him.”
“Yeah, we will,” You suck in a sharp intake of breath at a particularly hard kick from within your stomach. Harry’s head snaps to look over your face before looking down to where your hand lays on your belly.
“What’s wrong?” His eyes are wide, on edge as he waits for your answer.
“It’s fine he’s just..ah, being a little rowdy this morning.” You take his hand from your thigh and press it to where the kicks were landing, “Right here. Think that’s his butt, his head’s down here, and..ah, his feet are right about here. Can you feel him?”
His palm lays flat across the front of your belly, “S’amazing, never gets old. Bet it feels so..weird to you though.”
“At first, yeah, but got used to it pretty quickly. It’s comforting now, like he’s saying hello or contributing to our conversations when we talk.”
He puts his mouth almost right against your tummy, so close his breath tickles and you feel the vibrations when he speaks, “Take it easy on mumma, little one. Just a bit longer, yeah? Can’t wait to see ya face. Bet y’so handsome like daddy, just gotta be a lil’ more patient like mummy, alright?”
“Think maybe he’s ready for his pre-breakfast snack?”
“Dunno..I’ll ask him though,” He bends again, “That why y’bein’ such a brat to mum, huh? Woke her up early cause you were hungry? Alright, daddy’ll make your usual.”
He kisses your stomach, before straightening to where he’s level with your face, “That sound good?”
Your “usual” was a bowl of what had been your biggest craving throughout your pregnancy; fruit. On nights like this when sleeplessness couldn’t be defeated, the two of you normally gave in pretty quickly and had breakfast together. On days when you were able to sleep through Harry’s departure, you would always wake to the bowl already prepared and ready for you. Oftentimes there would be a quickly scribbled note with the words “Love, H” stuck to the top or the side of the bowl, like you didn’t already know who had left it for you.
“You’re spoiling him already, Harry.”
He smacks a quick kiss to your cheek, pulling back just a second before diving back in to peck another one on your other cheek, “Tryin’ to spoil you too, angel.”
//
Contractions, real ones you were sure this time, had started 30 minutes ago. As much as Harry wanted to rush you out of the house in your pajamas, you had insisted on at least 5 minutes to change and pull your hair into a quick ponytail before gathering your bag and dashing down the stairs.
Just as Harry’s hand lands on the doorknob, you tug on the sleeve of his jacket, “Harry, stop for a second.”
“Why? Are you having one now?”
“Kiss me.”
“What?”
“This is one of our last moments before we become parents. I want you to slow down, take a deep breath, and kiss me.”
“You’re impossible, you know that? Active labor and you stop me for a kiss.” He rolls his eyes but you can see his shoulders drop, relaxing just enough to press his lips firmly against yours. You reach your hand up and around to the back of his neck, deepening it for a moment before drawing back to scan his face.
“Better?” Your hand continues to work through his hair, happy to watch his face relax slightly at your touch.
“Much. How are you so calm?”
“I don’t know, really. I thought I would be scared, and I am but..I’m ready. So ready to meet him.”
“Me too. Let’s go.” His hand falls to the small of you back, leading you out the door and to the car.
Once you arrive at the hospital, he doesn’t leave your side, not even when the nurse suggests he do so while you get your epidural. She agrees to let him stay, but makes him sit in a chair in front of you and sternly tells him not to look.
He holds both of your hands, squeezing them tightly as an attempt to distract you. He knows how much you hate needles, how the thought of this procedure alone had scared you almost as much as the idea of labor. You release a deep sigh of relief when they announce it’s done, and he helps you settle back into bed, tucking the blanket around you.
“So proud of you, baby. You’re already doing amazing.”
Things progress much faster than you ever thought they would, and it’s only three hours before you’re ready to push. Harry’s there for every second of it, hand behind your back and small encouragements in your ear when you think you can’t go any further.
“M’tired, H.” The room is full of people, your doctor and a set of nurses, but his focus stays on you; simply existing together in that moment. Small pieces of hair have come loose from your ponytail, clinging to the sweat now covering your forehead. He sweeps them away before resting his hand on your shoulder.
“I know y’are, lovie, but you’re so so close. Doin’ so incredible,” His smile is so wide, beaming at you when he leans closer, “Y’look gorgeous too, never seen you look more stunning than now.”
That has a laugh bursting from you, still breathless when you reply,  “You’re such a bad liar.”
“M’serious! Know better than to lie to you.” He winks just before working his arm around behind your back again, giving you the motivation you needed to keep going.
It’s not long before you hear what you’re certain is one of the best sounds you’ll ever hear, the sweet sound of your baby boy’s cry as he enters the world.
//
An hour later, both of you are still in awe of your little one, sleeping peaceful now in their dad’s strong arms. Harry’s wedged himself next to you in the hospital bed, long legs stretched in front of him. He keeps looking between where your head is propped on his shoulder and the baby.
He breaks the silence first, “Definitely think he has your hair. S’nice and soft.”
“Think it’ll be darker like yours though. Maybe he’ll have your eyes.” You reach over to run your finger along your baby’s nose.
He looks between you and the baby again, a prideful smile brightening his face. He smushes his lips against your temple, and you close your eyes as the feeling of adoration combined with the  exhaustion of the day washes over you.
You hear him whisper just as you’re drifting to sleep, “My moon and star, together at last.”

2020...
You were probably the worst and best year of my life for several different reasons.
Worst because you took away my normal college experience. Worst because mentally, you haven’t been kind. Worst because you have taken several people who have meant a lot to me and many others. Worst because people I’ve thought of as good friends don’t speak to me anymore or turned out to not be who I thought they were.
Best because for some reason being stuck in quarantine brought my best friend and I a whole lot closer. Best because I found new hobbies that I love. Best because I’ve grown a lot as a person. Best because I’ve grown a lot on here and made writings that people have enjoyed. Best because I have impacted others in a positive way and helped people. Best because I have felt the happiest I have ever felt and the most love I have experienced as well. Best because I have made many new friends that mean the world to me and I just wanted to say a small thank you to all of these people.
@rebelemilu • Emily, I remember months ago when I reblogged an edit of yours and you kinda geeked out that I did that. I thought it was the cutest thing ever and it was shocking to me that someone who didn’t even know me loved me and my stuff. Then later in July when I first ever showed my face to this hellsite, I inspired you to do the same and I got to see your beautiful face and smile and I was so happy that I was able to do that for you. You have always been so kind and supportive of me and I will forever be grateful to you for that. Now I get to talk to you almost everyday and you send me the best gifs of our favorite men and I couldn’t be happier. You are an amazing friend Em and I love you so much! You have no idea how much you mean to me.
@x-lulu • Lulu, this past month or so has been amazing! You are one of the strongest, sweetest, and most supportive people I know! Like you said, you feel like you can come to me with anything but that is how I feel about you. You have a soft warm safe presence about you that makes me feel comfortable and appreciated when I talk to you. Loneliness is my biggest struggle and I hate talking about it with anyone because it feels stupid when I say it but with you, I feel like I could discuss that with you without any judgement. Now that I know you I don’t think I could be without you. You’re just so wonderful and I wish everyone could have a lu as a friend. I don’t know what I’d do without my aesthetic queen that I love so much.
@https-luna • Luna, you are my luna bug! What else can I say? I love you so much and we’ve only really talked for the past twoish weeks but I feel like we will be friends for a long time. You are so incredibly smart and I love each and every one of your random fun facts. That makes my days so much better with your sweet personality. I feel like we’ve grown a lot closer these last few days and I wouldn’t change that for the world. You are a talented writer and I love getting to see that first hand. My love for you will never die, luna bug.
@sguymon21 • Sara, I honestly don’t remember how our friendship started. I want to say it was because we started talking when I was reading your story, All Of My Wrongs, because I fell in love with it and then we just started talking. And then we exchanged Instagrams and then Snapchats and we’ve talked for a while honestly. You are such an amazing writer and a sweet and kind soul as well and I know that at times that people haven’t been that kind to you but I promise you are so much more than what people say. You are gorgeous love and your heart is even prettier.
@samcolbylife666 • Zach, I know this is probably weird considering we haven’t talked in several months but I still wanted to thank you. You were the first person I ever really talked to on here and I hope you’re doing well. I remember the random things we’d discuss right before all hell broke loose with corona. I was literally talking to you when I had to pack to leave my dorm for our “two week” break and I was excited that our spring break had been lengthened. I’m pretty sure your plans to go to Disneyland for canceled due to everything but I hope you still get to go soon. I don’t know if you still get on here but I’d love to talk to you again.
@xgingerblue19x • Ella, my love from the other side of the world haha I love you so much. Our journey started the night Sam broke his back. I was lowkey freaking out about it and you were there to calm me down and you sent me updates about it too. It was nice to have someone to talk to when I was super anxious about someone I look up to and care deeply about. Then a few weeks later, we all lost someone really important to us, Corey, and once again, you were there. You talked with me and I am not one to easily open up to others especially when I’m upset but with you, I felt safe and you made it easy. Since then, we don’t talk super often but we can always pick up where we left off and it feels normal and not awkward at all and I love that about our friendship. You are someone I know that I can lean on and I hope you know I’m here for you as well sweetheart.
@socialanxiety-queen • Becca, I love you so much! We were both scared to reach out to each other and anxious about making new friends but I’m glad that we started to message each other and play a little game of twenty questions. Even though we don’t talk that often, I will always love and support you and I know that I can talk to you about whatever I need to. Your heart is so pure and it is a beautiful thing inside a beautiful person. You make me so happy and I love how you remember the little things about a person and make them feel so loved and appreciated and I hope you feel as loved and appreciated as you make others feel.
@toriswrites • Tori, you are such a cute little bean and I love you! We started talking right before I combined blogs on maybanksbaby and you were the one who helped me gain the courage to finally combine my blogs after I had been thinking about it for a loooooong time. I don’t think you know how grateful I am for that because it was the best decision I’ve ever made and I couldn’t have done it without you and your encouragement. So thank you for talking to me through that because I probably would’ve never done it or I would’ve pushed it off for a while if I hadn’t brought it up to you.
@heaven-with-mark • Babe, I honestly have no idea where our friendship started. I think it was you posted something and I came to check on you and then we just started talking. And then we talked almost every day all day for like a month. We’d be going crazy as we stayed up late. You’d show me all your pets and tell me their adorable and unique names which I loved. We’d talk about several random ideas and we’d talk about our problems too. I know we haven’t talked that much recently but I really miss you and I hope you are doing well.
@lonely-xplr • Bree, you are someone I’ve always looked up to. Ever since I started writing on this app and joined this fandom, I’ve looked up to you. You are so smart and so nice to talk to. I know that if I ever need someone to talk to, I can go to you. You always seem to send me something nice right when I need it and I am so grateful for that and you. I love you so much and I hope you know how much you mean to me.
@fttayla @ilovejjmaybank @demxters • Liv, Nat, and Elle, I love you all so much! You are so kind and super supportive and I thank you guys for that. Y’all are so cute too and your friendships have made me so happy.
@reinad-snc @goddess-of-time-and-magic @reddesertcolbs @xplrtrash @sarcasmhadachild @colbylover99 @cartiercolby @ygsucks @starrybrock • to my @traphousedaily babies and Kayla, you all made me feel welcome in this Sam and Colby tumblr fandom family. When I joined this group of wonderful people, I felt like I wasn’t alone and just posting my fics. I felt like I apart of something greater and I made great friends because of it. Each of you are so incredibly sweet and amazing people and I am so happy that I have gotten the chance to meet you all and become friends with you too.
@itsnotgray @ilguna @tomfreakinghollandneedsaoscar @xplrvibes @golbrocklovely @golbrockstar @turnupbrock @socialwriter @mrsmaybankhere @spilledtee @bricksatlandyswindow @dmonchld @killingbxys @nxsmss @mxltifandoms06 @uwubonebabie @rafej-cambanks @drewstarkeysbitchh @faithie-brock-gillespie01 @cognacdelights @tovvaa @moniamaybank @themaddies-obx @cuddlycolby @xplrsworld @makebank @rafeyybabyy • there are so many more but there is a tag limit to each post so I’ll probably comment to add some more but each of you have made my 2020 better. Some on small ways and others in bigger ones but each of you have brought me happiness and made me smile more so for that, thank you.
So after that reflection, I have realized that 2020 may not have been the greatest year of our lives but at least for me, the great points outweigh the bad ones tremendously. Here’s to 2021 :)

Obey Me! Soulmate AU Lucifer 2
Sorry, I kind of dropped off the face of the earth for a hot minute there. I’m just going through some stuff, don’t mind me!~ I really hope you like this. I was planning on making it longer, but I felt like I left it off at a good place. I think I may finish off each story one by one, since I’m on a roll with Lucifer’s story, but it depends on my mood. I may start on Mammon’s part 2 soon, so you never know! Next part is either Lucifer part 3 or Mammon part 2 lol. I really hope you like it!!!
________________________________________
When I was a little girl, scary movies always excited me. I would get on my hands and knees to beg my mother to let me watch them, even if I knew I'd have nightmares. There was just something about being scared but not being in danger that really made me happy. As I got older, it became an obsession. Horror movie posters littered my walls, and all other kinds of merchandise, some even rare items, surrounded me in my day to day life. But what always made my day was ghost stories. Some classic bumps in the night, others intense cases of demonic possession. Eventually, movies weren't enough of a thrill. I needed the real thing.
 _______________________________________________________
"Are you sure about this, _____? I mean, I know you're into that freaky shit, but this is getting a little too real for me." _____'s best friend Monica says, holding herself in her arms.
"Oh please, Monny! It's just a little ghost hunt. Nothing to be worried about!" Her golden eyes widen as she gawks at her friend.
"Nothing to worry about? Girly, you know damn well I don't do ghost shit. That's all you, my friend, and honestly, I don't feel like dying before graduating high school!" _____ rolls her eyes, but this doesn't stop her friend's ramblings.
"You're following the information given to you by some rando on the internet you only met last week- he's probably leading you into a trap! This is one of those cases you see on HLN where the young, unexpecting girls get taken to be sex trafficked."
"We're not gonna die. And it's not even confirmed that there are ghosts here," _____ lifts up the broken chain-link fence and motions for her friend to enter.
"Wait, we're going through all this trouble and you’re not even sure if it's actually haunted?! Are you kidding me?"
"Look, if you're that much of a scaredy-cat, you can wait outside. I just want to snap a few pictures to post on my blog." Biting her lip and shifting from side to side, Monica weighs her options.
"Okay, fine. Just don't take forever. My mom wants us back before dark," Monica says, pouting.
"And don't call me a scaredy-cat!"  _____ smirks.
"Okay, okay . . . Scaredy-cat!" She laughs, lightly jogging away from her friend and towards the abandoned building. With her flashlight in hand, _____ sneaks around the back under some fallen tree-limbs and clicks her tongue.
"If I remember right, the guy said it would be about . . . Here!" Finding the boarded window she was looking for, _____ slides the board up and enters the hole. She drops down into a dark room, the only light seeping in through the cracks in the worn wood covering the window. Quickly turning on her flashlight, the young girl takes a look around what appears to be the basement of the run-down house.
"He seemed to have left out the fact that my little 'tour' would start in the basement, but I can work with this." _____ takes a deep breath and scans the area. Besides some creepy old toys, nothing really interests her here.
So, she finds the door leading upstairs and slowly makes her way up the creaking wood. The leaky pipes and several rainstorms since the abandonment of the house have not been kind to the drywall and wood structuring. Reaching the top, _____ shines her flashlight around, taking in the once white walls of the family room, now covered in mold.
"A little Damp-rid would do this house some wonders, I'm sure." Her camera flashes as she takes her first shot, making sure to get in the ripped couch and fallen portraits. Had vandals and old age not did their thing, this house would have been in perfect condition.
"The people living here just up and abandoned it with no warning. Seems . . . Suss if you ask me.” She scrunches her face and shrugs.
"Alright, let's do some exploring." Shaking off her shakes of anticipation, _____ ascends the stairs leading to the second floor with caution. Despite her lack of fear for the paranormal, she still fears falling through the dampened wood flooring and having to explain to her mother why she's in the hospital getting tested for tetanus. A sudden sound above her makes her stop for a moment, halting the loud creaking of the stairs.
"What the Hell . . . ?" What sounds like a light tapping across the floor above slowly moves forward toward the stairs and ending at the door at the end of the hall. She shines her flashlight there, but it begins to flicker and dim.
"Shit! I just changed these batteries!" She bats it with her palm, but it does nothing as it fades away. The hinges of the door screech as it slowly begins to open, so slow that it's barely visible. What little light is streaming through the cracks of the boarded windows seems to almost be absorbed by the darkness inside the bedroom. _____ gets closer to the door, feeling an immense pull to open it and go inside. Her goal of capturing pictures long gone from her mind as she reaches out and touches the handle.
"_____! Are you done yet?!" Her friend yelling to her from outside startles her and she removes her hand. She releases a breath she didn't know she was holding and tilts her head to yell back.
"Uh, Yeah, almost! Be right out!" Her feet tap against the wood flooring as she descends the stairs, but pauses and takes a look back at the door all the way at the end of the hall.
"It'll only take a second . . . " She says to herself, never removing her eyes from the darkness within.
"Come on, _____! We're losing daylight!" Biting her lip, she lifts her camera and snaps a few photos before running back to the basement and out of the small window. Just as her friend said, the sun is almost below the horizon.
"Oh shit."
"Oh, shit is right! Let's get out of here!"
 ________________________________________________________
Growing up the way I did, I never really thought too much about what that day meant. Though every once in a while, I find myself thinking about that house. Monica and I left that town not long after we graduated, but the longing I have to go back has nothing to do with homesickness.
"Hey, look! I never thought I'd be seeing these pictures again!" Monica laughs, holding up the small box filled with photos from _____'s old camera.
"Is that prom?" She asks, making her way over to Monica with curiosity.
"I think so," She holds up more photos of the two girls in dresses holding hands with a boy and another girl.
"It has to be. Look, there's Jonah!" _____ rolls her eyes and groans.
"God, I hoped I would never have to see his face again. Burn the pictures!"
"No!" Monica holds the photos to her chest protectively.
"Just because you hated your date, doesn't mean I hated mine!" _____ laughs.
"True. Okay, you can keep 'em! I have all these on a hard drive somewhere, so I'll have plenty of memories!" The smile on Monica's face slowly begins to fall at _____'s words.
"Do you really have to go? I know I've said this like a thousand times, but how do you know you can trust this man?" It's understandable that Monica is concerned. I mean, most people would be if their best friend meets a guy and less than a month later moves out with them.
"I'll be fine. I promise. And I'll write all the time!" Monica groans.
"Exactly, you'll write! I mean, where even is this place that you're going, huh? No cell service, no internet? It's like this guy is taking you completely off the grid, and that's what worries me. He's not forcing you to do this, is he? Cause if he is-!" _____ grabs Monica's shoulders and looks her in the eye.
"Nobody's forcing me to do anything! I love him . . . Perhaps it's a little fast for most people, but I know for a fact that we're meant to be together. Please, trust me on this." The brunette's shoulders sink as if finally accepting _____'s answer.
"Fine. But just know that I don't like him!" A smile makes its way onto _____'s face and pulls her hands back.
"I guess if you don't like him then you won't want to be here tomorrow." Her head snaps up making her brown curls bounce around her head.
"Why?" The ghost hunter smirks and checks her nails.
"Well, my boyfriend and a few of his brothers are coming over to take most of the boxes. I wouldn't want you to be upset, so it's probably best if you stay away."
"Are you kidding me?! Of course, I'm gonna be there! I'm gonna give this bastard a piece of my mind! First, he takes my best friend away, and then he thinks he can just walk up in here and not even ask for your hand in dating from the one person that counts?! Oh, I'll show him! And his brothers too!" Fuming, Monica starts to pace, her arms flailing animatedly.
"Are you gonna give them all a stern talking to, mother dearest?" She stops in her rambling to glare at _____.
"Keep giving me backtalk, and I might just give you a stern talking to. With my fist!" _____ retaliates by throwing a couch pillow.
"Oh, it's on, girly!"
 ______________________________________________________
"_____, are you awake?" The young woman shifts in her sleep, stretching before opening her eyes.
"I am now. When did you get here?" Lucifer smiles, moving some hair from _____'s face.
"Only a moment ago. I didn't mean to wake you, I had just thought you'd be up." _____ takes a look at the clock on her nightstand, her eyes widening.
"Holy shit! It's almost two?" The tender moment is lost as she jumps out of her bed and runs to her adjoined bathroom. A smirk makes its way onto the demon's face, watching her frantically trying to brush her teeth and hair at the same time.
"There's no need to rush, my love. Although the sight before me is breathtaking, I'll go keep my brothers' busy loading boxes into the portal. Wouldn't want them stumbling in here and seeing something only I should see." The cheeky bastard leaves the room, and _____ looks down at her bedtime apparel consisting of panties and a large shirt.
"Well, that's not embarrassing or anything."
She quickly finishes getting ready and heads down the stairs to an argument.
"It's your fault!" Levi yells, gesturing to a box at his feet.
"Me?! What did I do?!" Mammon yells back, defensive.
"You made me drop it with your stupidity! If you hadn't been acting like a big baby, we would have most of this done by now!" The box in question happens to be the small box filled with photographs.
"Hey guys, don't worry about it! It's just some pictures. I'll clean it up, no biggie!" The two demons blush and look away, a bit ashamed to be yelling in front of the girl.
"Sorry, _____. If Mammon actually did his job, we'd be out of here by now."
"I'm helping!" Levi rolls his eyes.
"If by helping you mean complaining, then yeah, you've been a big help!" Mammon crosses his arms and glares.
"Oh, like you're any better? Just two minutes ago you were complaining about how you're arms hurt! These boxes should weigh nothing to you!" As the fight continues, Lucifer comes up next to her and sighs. I'm sorry about my brothers, _____. Would you believe me if I told you they actually volunteered to help?" _____ laughs.
Over the course of knowing Lucifer, the young woman has grown close to his brother's as well, mainly the two standing in front of her. Mammon likes her ghost adventure stories, and Levi just likes the fact _____ is willing to listen to his rants. Even Satan has enjoyed a few human books recommended to him by the lovable ghost hunter, and they often discuss murder mysteries together over text. It's no surprise to Lucifer that his soulmate gets along so well with his brothers. He cares dearly for his younger siblings, and _____ provides the care his pride prevents him from showing.
"I believe it. But, you know, brothers will be brothers," She smiles up at him, unknowingly making his heartbeat just a bit faster. Her eyes widen a bit and a small gasp leaves her lips as she takes another look at the clock.
"I forgot to tell you, but Monica is-"
"Where is he?!" The front door slams open, halting the never-ending argument and making _____ pout.
"Monica, any damage left gets taken out of my deposit. Could you be a bit more careful?" The brunette crosses her arms and scans the room, reading all three men, and assessing the situation. Her eyes narrow at Levi, making him whimper slightly and shrink under her gaze. Next, Mammon, who just crosses his arms back and raises a brow under his sunglasses. Her eyes land on Lucifer and her glare turns to a scowl. Target acquired. She dramatically raises her hand and points at the demon.
"You." Confused, he points to himself.
"Me . . . ?"
"You're the one that's stealing my sister from me!" _____ sighs and puts her head in her hand.
"Here we go." Monica walks over, practically chest to chest with Lucifer, though there's a notable height difference. Lucifer coughs awkwardly, looking down at the female.
"Is there a problem?"
"I don't know, is there?" _____ sighs again.
"Monica-"
"Don't 'Monica' me! I don't care how big and muscular he appears to be, he better square up, cause he's not taking you without a fight, sis!"
"This is ridiculous, Monica. You can't fight him." Her glare deepens, never breaking eye contact with Lucifer.
"Watch me." She raises her fist.
"I don't think you want to do that," Lucifer speaks up, temporarily halting her actions.
"There's nothing you can say to me that'll- Put me down!" Lucifer picks up Monica by her shoulders and gently holds the kicking and screaming girl until she gives up trying to escape.
"Are you done?" Huffing and puffing, she nods and he places her back on her feet.
"You are a truly worthy opponent. I'll be more prepared next time. Until then, you have earned my blessing. For now!" _____ rolls her eyes, and Lucifer smiles at her.
"Thank you. I apologize for not meeting you sooner. My work prevents me from leaving, and what little free time I have I use to talk to _____. It was wrong of me to not speak with you before arranging this." Monica looks at Lucifer, still skeptical.
"Hm, wise words and a wise decision, trying to butter me up. But I won't give up that easily!"
"Is she always like this?" Mammon asks, leaning up against the wall.
"Always like what? Amazing, beautiful, cautious, careful, caring, concerned??"
"Woah, slow down 'C for Catastrophe', I think you just come off as a little strong sometimes, Monny. Maybe tone it down for the newcomers, alright?" Pouting, Monica agrees.
"Okay, maybe I can be a bit overbearing." _____ raises an eyebrow, but doesn't say anything.
"That's an understatement," Leviathan says under his breath earning a death glare from the brunette.
"I hate to cut this short, but we should really be going." _____'s head snaps up to look at Lucifer.
"What? Why? You just got here?" His face saddens as he looks down at her, holding her hand in his.
"I know, but I need to head back. Certain duties require my attention," He pulls _____ close in a hug and puts his lips to her ear.
"And Lord Diavolo was only able to keep the portal open for a certain amount of time." His warm breath on her neck sends a shiver down her spine and a blush to her cheeks. She hugs him closer and nods before letting go.
"Alright, I hope you guys have a safe journey back!" She waves to them, Lucifer giving her a quick peck on the cheek, not really one for PDA, and they head out of sight through the front door. Monica clears her throat and looks down at the ground.
"Sorry." Genuinely surprised, _____ turns to her friend.
"For what? You were just being a good friend!"
"Not that," She sighs, and wrings her hands together.
"I didn't know his time here was limited. I didn't mean to keep you from him." _____ smiles and pats her friend on the head, which earns her an annoyed scowl.
"It's okay, Monny, don't worry about it! How about we make some tea and chill for a bit? I still have some packing to do before next week." The shorter female smiles and nods.
"Definitely! I'll start the water!" She rushes off to the kitchen, leaving _____ in the living room. It's true that she's upset she didn't get to be with Lucifer for very long, but she doesn't blame her friend. Magic is something she still doesn't understand but knows there are certain limitations.
Maybe if she had gotten up earlier, she could have talked with her soulmate a bit more, but she was just so tired. Her dreams kept her up tossing and turning most of the night, much to her displeasure. She doesn't remember exactly what they were about, but they weren't pleasant, and she's not sure if she actually wants to remember them.
Monica working to heat up the water, _____ decides to clean up the scattered pictures from the fallen box. There's no particular order they should go in since they were pretty much haphazardly thrown in there to begin with, but she tries to start from the bottom, attempting to keep some sort of linear timeframe of when she put the pictures in there.
"Eventually I gotta go through these and get rid of the junk. I don't think I want Lucifer seeing me at fourteen with braces, pigtails, and eyeliner up to my temples." She gently shuffles through the pictures, tossing them in as she goes, until she reaches the last group.
Undoubtedly the darkest of them, they immediately stand out from the family beach days and the cringe selfies. _____ picks them up, and examines them. The first few are of crumbling walls and boarded up windows, no doubt an abandoned house she's been to, but that's not what strikes her as odd. She never kept her hunting photos with her normal ones, especially back then.
Her mother would have killed her if she found out, so she would always develop them and put them in a lockbox under her bed. The last few photos in the bunch show a dark hall, and it's as if all the heat rushes from her body. A cold chill replaces any warmth she may have had as she looks from one picture to the other, the hallway becoming darker and darker before it goes completely black, the door at the end the only thing visible.
While she remembers taking the pictures, she doesn't remember ever actually developing them. It was her first abandoned house- thinking back it would have been weird for her not to take a look at them. But the more she tries to remember, the more she can't. It's as if she's blocked it out somehow.
"You okay, girly?" Monica places her hand on _____'s shoulder, breaking her from her thoughts.
"Uh, yeah, sorry. Got a little distracted is all," She places the pictures at the top of the box, closes it, and puts it to the side.
"Now, how about tea?"
The two girls spend the rest of the night packing and chatting, almost making _____ forget about the pictures. Almost. It isn’t long after Monica leaves that _____ finds herself drawn to the small box, knowing that the pictures are just a few feet away. A ringing from her pocket startles her, and she pulls out her DDD. The caller ID says Lucifer, and she smiles knowing how late it is. This is most likely his first break since he got back.
"Hey, are you okay?" Her smile drops a bit at the urgency in his voice.
"Yes, why? Is everything alright?" He sighs on the other end of the phone sounding relieved.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you. I felt that you were in danger, and the pact was calling to me." Sure enough, the pact mark on her arm is glowing a beautiful blue, bright enough to shine through her shirt sleeve. She lightly rubs it, willing it to stop, and the glow slowly fades.
"Sorry, I didn't even realize I was doing it. It's just . . . " _____ bites her lip, looking over at the box.
"_____, what's wrong? Are you in danger?"
"No," Sighing, _____ turns away from the box and heads to her bedroom, attempting to put it out of her mind.
"I was just anxious . . . I miss you." He chuckles a little, making her heart race.
"I miss you too. I'm sorry I had to cut our afternoon short, but Lord Diavolo needed me. The higher demons are still . . . Skeptical about our father's decision. They've become nervous, and there have been talks of a coup."
"Oh, wow," She never really thought about it, but it makes sense why people would be skeptical especially demons. To them, it may seem like some plot to take over the Devildom.
"How's Lord Diavolo handling this news?" She's spoken to Lord Diavolo a few times, and he's always seemed like such a nice and positive guy that really cares about his kingdom and its citizens.
"He's upset, but not surprised. But he knows my brothers and I are on his side, so if a coup were to take place, they wouldn't get very far."
"I'm glad. How are you handling this? Want to talk about it?" She's concerned for him, despite knowing how powerful he is. His workload before was intense, but now she's sure it's even worse. He barely gets to sleep, and she can hear it sometimes when he's on the phone with her. He's even fallen asleep on the phone, much to her disappointment. She feels guilty every time that happens, because he's clearly tired but still staying up late to talk to her.
"I would love to, but unfortunately, there's not much I can say . . . "
"You never know who's listening, right?" He laughs.
"Yes, I'm sorry. But I can tell you that all of this will be sorted before next week. I'll make sure of it." The determination in his voice was enough to know he was telling the truth. Once Lucifer makes his mind up about something, it gets done.
"I believe you! But even so, I'm sure my presence might stir up the higher demons. Maybe it's best if I and the other girls stay here until the Devildom calms down." She's heard of his brother's soulmates before, though she's never actually talked to them. But it's not hard to assume that they are going through the same things she is, feeling the same things, and wondering how their lives are going to change.
"At the moment, any plans for you or the others to come here are still on track. But, I'm afraid you may have a point . . . "
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I know no matter what you decide, it'll be the right choice. I have the utmost confidence in you, hun." Lucifer clears his throat, flustered.
"I'm glad you do. Your safety is my top priority. One of them."
"I can only imagine the work you have right now. I'll let you go." _____ glances at the time. It's pretty late for her, and the time difference isn't too far off from her own.
"I'll call you tomorrow as soon as I can. Sleep well, my love." For him not to protest hanging up the phone, he must really be swamped with work.
"Sleep well." Laying down, _____ can feel her eyelids falling heavy and pulls the covers over her shoulders. Despite her pleasant thoughts of her love, her dreams are anything but.
To be continued ------

brain freeze
pairing: captain rex x reader (ohoHOHOH)
summary: I ate ice cream and I wanted to write Rex eating ice cream too. that’s literally all this is
a/n: VERY THROWN TOGETHER these were just thoughts in my head I had while eating some good ass choc ice cream man. I left it ambiguous as to whether there’s an established relationship goin on here….up to you to take this as my characteristic yearning™ or dating domesticity heheh
also I’d just like to dedicate this to/publicly blame @highlycommendable for being the biggest reason I fell in love w/ Rex like come ON I dare you to read In the Battlefield and not do the same. do it. DO ITASDFDK
Tumblr media
“I don’t believe you.”
Your arms are crossed across your old tee, and your tone is serious. Rex has never been good at reading a poker face — almost as bad as he is at lying — but doesn’t think he’s seen this look on your face before.
“Why would I lie about this?”
“I don’t know, but I still don’t believe you.”
He doesn’t know how you even got to this topic. One minute you had struck up a chat with him about…actually, Rex doesn’t even know what you’d been talking about. Sometimes, in the tiredness that claimed him at the end of the day, he just liked to listen to your voice as you carried on the conversation, and usually you’d grant him that silence.
But today, somehow, you’ve reached the subject of ice cream, and when Rex had informed you that he’d never had it, not once, you had gawked. Cue the pouty accusation.
“It’s not like it’ll make you seem less manly, Rex. I’ve heard you singing in the shower.” At your words, Rex feels his face redden indignantly. It was one time…
“I’ve just never had the chance! Is that really so hard to accept?” He’s kind of annoyed, now, and confused as to why you’re pressing this. “They weren’t exactly giving us dessert and tucking us in with bedtime stories on Kamino, you know.”
The amused disbelief immediately drops from your face, quickly morphing into remorse. Rex can tell you hadn’t meant to make him feel bad. But what he’d said was true — he’d been bred to be a soldier, not a human being.
“Rex, I’m sorry.” You wring your hands, and he shakes his head in dismissal. “I was just surprised. I realize it was stupid.”
“S’fine. Really, not a big deal.”
“It is!” You insist, and he just wishes you’d drop the whole thing. Who cared what he ate, as long as it got him through the day and kept him alive? Food was just a way of sustaining his strength. “I know exactly how to make it up to you, though. Be ready in five minutes — and lose the armor.”
———
“A diner? Kinda thought you’d take me to 79’s, buy me a drink or something.”
“Or something,” you snort, leading him through the entrance. “I’ll have you know that this is vital information, Captain. Consider this an informational excursion.” Your eyes glint with purpose, and Rex had learned long ago that it was just wiser to go along with whatever you wanted when you were set on something.
And, that smile of yours could command him to do things almost as well as an order from General Skywalker could. Not that Rex would ever say that out loud.
A throaty call of your name draws his attention to the counter, where a Besalisk is grinning behind stained chef’s attire. “Welcome back!”
“Dexi Jet,” you drawl happily, as you slap one of the chef’s four arms when he reaches the two of you. “It’s good to see you.”
“Never got time to see your old friend anymore, eh? This who’s got all your attention now?” Rex balks when he’s pointed to, and you snicker at his expression.
“You could say that,” you answer, and place your other hand up on Rex’s shoulder. “Rex, meet Dex. Dex, this is Captain Rex of the 501st. Should be easy enough to remember, right?” If you ask Rex, you seem a little too pleased at the similarity between their names, but he holds his tongue.
“Should be. Any friend of my most loyal customer is a friend of mine,” Dex agrees, and stretches his lips into a friendly simper, and Rex gives an awkward attempt at a smile in reply. “Take a seat, you two. You want your usual order?”
“Actually, something else this time, Dex,” you call as he retreats back to the kitchen. “Trying to sweeten up the Captain here.”
Rex can’t help but roll his eyes.
———
Minutes later, he’s holding an ice cream cone in his hand, delivered promptly by the droid waitress you had referred to as “FLO”. Rex supposed it fit the vibe of the diner, along with her tinny accented voice and the way she called everyone “honey”.
Any droid that wasn’t trying to kill him would always be a shock at first. You had smirked at the way he’d stumbled over a “thank you”.
“The upper levels are weird,” he grunted, angling the cone so that a milky drip of chocolate didn’t fall on his fingers. He’d never felt comfortable amidst all the people in the capital that went about their lives — as if they weren’t in the middle of a war. Ones that had never seen the front lines save for a holo on the news. Here, “shiny” was a compliment.
“Careful,” you chide lightheartedly, already halfway finished with your dessert. “These are my old stomping grounds. I used to eat here all the time during my university days.” You look expectantly at him, then to the cone in his hand.
Rex sighs internally. Best to just get it over with.
He goes to bite the ice cream, but you almost jab him in they eye with the way your hand shoots out to stop him. “Not like that! You’ll regret it, trust me. It makes your teeth hurt if you bite into it. You lick it, like this.” You demonstrate accordingly, and it takes a lot of strength for Rex to keep certain thoughts out of his head. Another time.
He frowns at his cone, then tentatively pokes out his tongue to lick it as you’d done. The cold pricks his senses, but the ice cream is soft, much softer than he’d expected. He licks it again, less reluctant this time.
“Well?”
“It’s—” Rex lets the flavor melt over his taste buds, savoring the sensation. “It’s good.”
You laugh out in delight, and his head shoots over to make sure you’re not recording him to show his brothers later. Thankfully, you’re watching him excitedly, finishing off your own ice cream. “I told you! Isn’t it great?”
“I’ve had chocolate before, but this is…really good.”
“It’s delicious,” you correct him, and he quirks a smile at the way you almost sound offended. “Dex uses Trammistan chocolate, from Trammis III. Total game changer. And less than two credits!”
That jolts him out of his sweet relishing. He hadn’t thought to bring money before the pair of you had left. You notice the way he pauses, though, and nudge him in the arm. “Rex, did you not hear me? It’s not even two credits. Anyways, this is my treat.”
Rex shrugs, albeit stubbornly.
He’s still not used to the way you always want to take care of him, be kind to him. Almost every good thing someone had done for him had been transactional — until he’d met you.
You beam at him, drinking in his enjoyment, and begin to crunch on the Cerean cone. “Don’t eat it too fast, though. It’ll hurt your brain, too.”
“Seems like a lot of ways to hurt yourself by just eating it.”
“Hey, high risk, high reward.” You counter, as if you’d just pointed out a flaw in one of his battle plans. “Now, let’s get the Neuvian sundae! I want you to try the Denta bean flavor.”
———
Three weeks later, when the 501st is on leave once again, you bring the boys some takeout and relay a message to Rex from the diner: Dex is thrilled at the influx of new customers, but he really has to warn his brothers about brain freeze — the clones seem to be easily incapacitated by ice cream, and it’s starting to worry Dex about the vulnerability of the soldiers fighting the war. The last part is a joke, you reassure him.
Rex can only shake his head to hide his uneven smile.

Take it Slow - Part Sixty-Three
a/n: okay this is my first shot at a harry:y/n fic, and it will be multiple parts. y/n had a bad experience with an ex over a year ago, and finally accepts her coworker and good friend Niall’s invitation to go on a blind date with his friend Harry.
Warnings: TW. - THE R-WORD IS USED IN THIS PART! Fluff and Smut.
Masterpost (all previous parts can be found in the masterpost)
Sunday morning Harry got up to start editing the photos. He dug up an old album he never used so he could place them in there for you once they were printed. He wanted you to sleep so he could get everything done. The photos were incredible. He thought you looked stunning. He edited them so they were all black and white and touched up some other things. He started printing them when he heard you walking around downstairs.
“Harry?” You call for him sleepily.
“Up here babe, be down in a minute!”
Once the pictures are dry enough he fills up the album. He sees you curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee. He comes down and plops right next to you.
“They’re all done. Wanna see?”
“How early did you get up to do this?”
“Early…I was too excited.” He chuckles.
“Okay, lemme see.”
You lean into him and he opens the album. You mouth falls open when you look at the pictures. He did an amazing job.
“You’re so talented Harry, I actually like the way I look!”
“That’s all you, babe, you’re gorgeous.” You kiss him on the cheek.
“Oh my god!” You gasp at the ones of you touching yourself. “I’m not awake enough for this.” You laugh. “I’m gonna go put this away in my closet, okay? It’ll be easy for you to find while I’m away. Thank you so much for doing this for me.”
“Anytime.”
//
Your week with Mark was easier. He kept his distance as much as he could.
“So, you have a half day today?” He asks you Friday morning. He couldn’t help but look at your butt in your jeans.
“Yup, I have to pack and then my mom is spending the night with us so we can get to the airport easier tomorrow.” You pull some sheets of paper from a file folder. “Here’s what I’ll need you to work on next week while I’m gone. Niall has a copy too and he will be checking in.”
“I don’t need to be babysat. What do I do if I finish all this?”
“Go see Niall, he’ll have work for you.”
“Do you ever have fun here, like ever?”
“I have fun all the time, with Niall, because he’s my friend. You, Mark, are not my friend.”
“Yeah, you’ve made that plenty clear.” He huffs.
“Good, that was my intention.” You give him a fake smile.
“You could try to warm up to me, I’m not a bad guy. We’re going to be working together for a while longer.” You scoff at him.
“You burned your bridge with me a long time ago.”
“Are you sure that’s it? Or are you afraid your boyfriend will get jealous?”
“Harry? Jealous of you?” You start laughing. “What’s there to be jealous of?”
“A stable job, an actual future…”
“His job is very stable, he gets paid well, and-“
“Doesn’t he have to freelance?”
“He freelances because he loves what he does and he likes making people happy. He’s insanely talented.”
“Why not open his own studio then?”
“He will, it’s just not the right time, and…you know what? I don’t have to explain a thing to you.” You shake your head at him. “I’m leaving now, see you when I get back.” He follows you out of your office and you lock it. “You are not to go in here while I’m gone, understand?”
“Mhm.”
You say goodbye to Niall with a big hug and head out the door to your place. You had a lot of packing to do. Harry came home from work early so he could spend some time with you before your mom got there.
“Ah! Son of a bitch!” He hears you yelp and he runs into the bedroom.
“Y/N?!” He stops short when he sees you clutching at your stomach.
“Hi, sorry, I just can’t get my piercing out for some reason. It’s a little tender from the last time I changed it.” You groan. “Fuck it, I’m leaving it in. They won’t see it anyways.”
He comes over to the bed and picks up a couple of your swim suits.
“These are cute.” He holds them up to his body and makes a modeling pose.
“Give me that!” You giggle and snatch it from him.
“Do yeh need help with anythin’?”
“No these were the last few things.” You close the lid on your suitcase. “Actually, could you bring that down to your car for me?”
“You got it.” He kisses the top of your head and grabs the bag.
When he comes back up you both eat a quick dinner and he takes you into the bedroom.
“She’ll be here soon…”
“Let me just love on you for a little while.” He nuzzles into your neck. You can’t resist him when he’s like this.
He makes love to you…twice. You force yourselves out of bed when your mom texts you that she’s downstairs. You both go down to greet her and Harry takes her larger bag down to the car.
“It looks amazing in here! You both have done such an incredible job decorating.”
“Thanks mumma. The guest room is all made up for you.”
“Perfect, well, I think I’ll head to bed now since we have to be up so early, night kids.”
“Night!” You give her a hug and kiss and off she goes. You look at Harry. “We should go to bed too. We have to get up at like four.”
“Sounds good.”
He cuddles you all night, and you wouldn’t have had it either way. The three of you were quiet it in the car the next morning. It was far too early to speak. Harry takes the bags out of the car for the both of you. Your mom goes into the airport to give you both some privacy to say goodbye.
You wrap your arms around each other and you feel wetness from his tears on your neck.
“It’s only a week, seven sleeps. I’m back next Saturday night.” You say into his ear.
“I know, I’m just gonna miss my sweet baby girl so much.” He pulls back to look at you. You wipe his tears with your thumbs.
“And I’ll miss my doll. Just look at the pictures when you miss me. I’m not going to have a lot of access to the internet. Only at the timeshare really.”
“So I don’t need to be a good boy?” He smirks. You smile at him and shake your head.
“No, I won’t torture you.” You sigh. “Kiss me, I need to head inside.”
He kisses you, boy does he kiss you. Your head is spinning when he lets go of you.
“I love you so much, as soon as I have WiFi I’ll text you, okay?”
“I love you too, have a safe flight.”
He watches you walk in, and then he gets back into the car. This was going to be the longest week of his life.
//
You texted Harry as you could like you said, and you told him you were planning to unplug for a bit, other than posting a few pictures to your Instagram story. He took a nap when he got home, and woke up a few hours later. Him and Niall decided to grab a bite to eat together at their favorite diner.
“Sarah and I are goin’ out for our six month tonight, otherwise I’d invite you out for drinks tonight.”
“No worries, mate. What are the two of yeh plannin’ on doin’?”
“Takin’ her out for a nice dinner. She said she had a big surprise for me tonight and that she didn’t wanna be out too late.” He shrugs.
“Did you get anythin’ f’her?”
“Yeah, I bought her a new anklet, she loves wearin’ ‘em.”
“Oh, I bet she’ll love that. She stays at your place a lot, yeah?”
“Yeah, almost every night now.”
“Think you’ll ask her to move in soon?”
“I don’t know if she wants to leave Rachel just yet. Although, word on the street is that Mariah’s been stayin’ over quite a bit at their place.”
“They’re a match made. I might hang out with them durin’ the week. I’ve been thinkin’ more about my freelance work lately. I think if I were to ever go for it full time I’d ask Mariah to come with me. She could work with clients I didn’t have time more, plus, I genuinely trust her. Then, once we made a lot of money, I’d steal Isaac too. He’s the best receptionist.”
“You’ve clearly thought this through.”
“Here and there. I just enjoy working with people a lot more. It doesn’t even feel like work. And it would be nice to have my own schedule. Guess I could just get state insurance…”
“Or you could marry Y/N and just go on her insurance.” Niall jokes.
“Plannin’ on it, mate.” Niall nearly chokes on his food.
“Excuse me?”
“I’m not sayin’ it’ll be tomorrow, but I think once she and I have been together for a year I’m gonna propose. We’re at eight months now.”
“Do yeh have a ring yet?”
“I have one in mind, yeah. There’s a jewelry store in London that I like. Saw what style of ring she likes. I’ve called the jeweler a couple of times. They have a site so I can essentially design it myself. I could pick it up this summer when I go home.”
“Harry…I…I’m so happy for you. I’ve never seen you like this with someone before. She’s really the one, huh?”
“She really is. I can’t explain it...I think I knew before I took her to meet my family that I wanted her forever, but that trip solidified how I felt. And I know she feels the same way. We’ve talked about it.”
“That’s great. I can’t picture her endin’ up with anyone else.” He smiles. “Not to change the subject, but I was thinkin’ you and I could go out for a boys night on Thursday.”
“Yeah! I’d like that. Been a while since just the two of us went for a drink.”
//
By Sunday night, Harry was already missing you too much and he decided to get the photo album out of your closet. A few glances couldn’t hurt. You had posted a few things to your story. He couldn’t wait to see your sun kissed skin when you got back.
As he was rummaging through the top shelf of your closet, he lost his balance and pulled down a box, and the contents spilled out.
“Shit.” He recognized the box…it was your special box that you used to keep under the bed. There were some new items still in a bag. He pick it up and his eyes widen. “What the…” He takes the cockring out and is genuinely shocked. “Was she plannin’ t’use this on me?” Then he grabs the box the butt plug was in. “Holy shit!” He smirks. “Does she wanna use this on me too? No fuckin’ way she wants this up her ass…”
Normally Harry would tease you about these things, but he figured you hid them for a reason. So he puts everything back and finds the photo album. He gets on the bed and does his pants while he looks at the pictures of you. Just as he was about to play with himself, his phone rang, and it was you.
“Hey baby!” Your voice was music to his ears.
“Hey! How’s vacation?”
“So good, I just came inside to grab some water so I thought I’d call quick.”
“Well, thanks for thinkin’ of me. How’s your Nan?”
“She’s great! She’s really happy my mom and I are here. We’re gonna go to a casino tomorrow, I’m excited. And Tuesday night is the night we’re gonna go dancing. I’ll have to send you some pictures.”
“Please do! I was lookin’ at some right now actually.” You blush.
“Harry!”
“What? You told me I could.”
“I guess that’s true…were you, um, you know?”
“Was about to...wanna help me along?”
“Hold on, let me go into the bathroom in case anyone comes in.”
He half expected you to say no. He hears you flip the bathroom fan on.
“Where is everyone else?”
“There’s a bonfire tonight.”
“Ah.”
“So…where were you?”
“Hadn’t event taken my pants off yet.” He chuckles.
“Okay, take them off then.” You were hushing your voice which was only turning him on more.
Harry adjusts his cock out of his pants and grips it.
“Rub the tip with your thumb like how I do, baby.”
He closes his eyes and just does as you say as you’re saying it. His top rubs over his thumb and he spreads the precome up his shaft.
“Now, I want you to-“ You go silent for a moment.
“Babe?”
“I’ll just be a minute, Nannie!”
And just like that his dick went limp at the thought of your grandmother.
“I’m so sorry, she knocked on the door, um, I-“
“It’s fine, I, uh, lost it.” You both giggle.
“I’ll try to call tomorrow, I gotta go. Apparently someone’s grilling and making drinks, so I need to get back out there.”
“Okay, have fun. Love you.”
“Love you too!!”
//
You did your best to send Harry pictures of your different tropical outfits. You did well to hide your naval piercing from your mom and grandmother. Thank god for high waisted shorts and pants. Your skin was getting more tan as each day passed. One more you all decide to take a trip downtown before going to the pool for the day. You only went to the beach at night due to how strong the sun was.
There was a jewelry store your Nannie loved going to. Your Papa would take her to it all the time, and you remember going when you were a senior in high school. He bought you the most beautiful bracelet for being the best baby in the world.
The three of you looked around. Not being someone who loved to wear jewelry, you were mostly looking for something to buy for Harry.
“Honey, can I ask, why don’t you just that ring resized?” Nannie asks.
“Harry bought me this chain so I could wear it like this. It looks more like a slide than a ring anyways. We both like it like this.”
“Alright.”
You had already gotten him the pearls, and lord knows he doesn’t need anymore necklaces or rings. What the fuck could you get him that he didn’t already have? As you continue to walk by everything, a particular ring catches your eye. It’s white gold and has a sunflower on it. If you were going to wear his rose, maybe he could wear your sunflower? Although, he already wore one on his skin every day for you. But something about the detail in the ring just made sense.
“Excuse me, I’d like to look at this one.” You say to the jeweler. He takes it out for you and you know you have to get for Harry. You give the jeweler his ring size and he tells you to come back the next day and it’ll be ready.
Your mom buys you a pair of studs for years and you put them in right away. The ones Harry had gotten for you months ago sat in your first holes, and the ones your mom just got you would sit in your doubles. They complemented each other perfectly.
//
Thursday night Harry went with Niall to a bar they hadn’t been to in a while. They were both excited to have a guy’s night.
“So, I never asked, how was the anniversary evening?” Niall’s face went red immediately. “What was her big surprise? Did she like the anklet?”
“She loved the anklet, yeah.” He takes a sip of his drink. “She bought me…some things.”
“What kinds of things?”
“Um…”
“Niall, I have fucked two separate women with you, I think you can tell me what Sarah bought you.”
“Okay, okay. She bought a cockring from some sex shop.” Harry nearly spat out his drink.
“They both them together?!”
“What?!”
“I found one in Y/N’s closet the other day. Still the packaging and everything, but still. So Sarah used it on you?”
“Well, yeah.” Harry smirks at his friend.
“How’d you like it?”
“It was…interesting. I use her vibrator on her all the time so she said she wanted to do the same to me or somethin’ like that. It was sorta nice for the both of us, but it was a lot to leave on for a while.”
“She actually lets you use it on her? Y/N said she’d feel weird, that’s why I was shocked when I found the other things she bought.”
“Things? What else was there?” Harry’s face heats up.
“There was, um, a butt plug.” He says quietly. Niall starts laughing.
“Think she wants to fuck your shit up a bit.”
“How do you know she doesn’t want me to use it on her?”
“Because Sarah got one too and she wants to use it on me before she lets me get in her like that.”
“Did she use it on you?!”
“Not yet…I told her I’d have to think about it. I don’t know how worth it is.”
“You should humor her, mate, trust me, it’s worth it. So tight.”
“Alright, alright.” They both laugh. They hear a ton of commotion from behind them. “Think there’s a bachelor party happenin’.” Niall says.
“Looks like it, yeah.” Harry squints. “Lad looks familiar, doesn’t he?”
Niall turns fully around to look at where Harry’s looking. His eyes grow wide.
“Where have seen him before?” Harry says.
“Harry, we should pay our tab and go somewhere else.”
“Why?”
“Because…that’s Jake.” Harry’s mouth falls open and then his jaw tenses. “We can’t cause a scene. I can’t believe that girl he was skating with is still going to marry him. Probably lied right to her face.”
Harry would never forget watching you self implode at the ice rink. He wanted to bash Jake’s head in.
“We can’t start a fight with him, we need to go.”
Harry nods and gets up. The two go up to the bar to pay their tabs. A few of the guys from the bachelor party bump into them, one being Jake.
“Sorry about that, our boy’s getting married this weekend, he’s a little out of it.”
Harry and Niall look in their direction, but don’t say anything. They look the three up and down and put their attention back on the bar.
Everything else was a blur. Harry wasn’t sure when his fist connect with Jake’s jaw, or when Niall pulled him off of him after nearly choking him out. He wasn’t sure when Jake got a swing in, but he knew his nose was bruised. Not broke, but definitely bruised. They were all thrown out of the bar.
“I should press charges! You threw the first punch! How am I supposed to explain this to my fiancé?!” Jake’s friends were trying to pull him away from Harry and Niall, but it was no use.
“You should press charges?!” Harry started laughing. “You’ve done far worse things. If anyone deserves to be locked up it’s you!”
“I have no idea who you are or what you’re talking about….wait a second…you both were at the ice rink that night. My fiancé almost broke up with me!”
“Good.” Niall says.
“Who are the two of you? She kept asking me what I did, but I had no idea what to tell her.” Jake’s friends let go of him as he’s calmed a bit. Niall and Harry look at each other.
“You raped my girlfriend a year and half ago.” Harry says bluntly.
“Raped?! I’ve never done something like that. Your girlfriend’s crazy if she told you something like that.”
“I could easily snap your neck in half, I wouldn’t talk about her like that if I were you.”
“Do you recognize this girl?” Niall pulls a picture up of you on his phone. Jake squints at it. Everyone was still really drunk. He felt hazy, but he nodded.
“Went out with her a few times, yeah. But I didn’t rape her.”
“Yes you did.” Niall says. “You fucked her until she bled out on her sheets.”
“Didn’t you see it on you when you pulled out?”
“I just thought maybe it was her first time or something.”
“You’d fuck someone that hard when you thought it was their first time?” Harry asks exasperated.
“It’s not like she told me to stop, thought she was enjoying it.” He shrugs.
“She was too fuckin’ scared to tell you to stop! You didn’t even ask her if she wanted to.”
“That’s her word against mine.” He crosses his arms.
“She threw up after she saw you at the ice rink, I don’t think she was exaggerating.” Niall says. “She’s got the bag with the sheets you know. Probably has plenty of your DNA still on it. All she has to do is press charges and your ass is done. So you should be very scared. Any day at any time your entire world could come crumbling down.” Niall looks at Harry. “C’mon, let’s go.”
The two walk away, leaving Jake and his friends stunned. Niall gets Harry inside your apartment, and get some ice into a rag.
“Did he break it?” He asks, pressing it gently to his nose.
“No, but it’s gonna leave a bruise. Feel sorry for him, probably gonna have an indent of my rings in his jaw for a week.” Harry takes the ice from Niall, and winces when he presses it a little hard to himself. “Y/N is gonna be so mad. I can’t lie to her about this.”
“Look, at least you weren’t arrested. It could’ve been worse.”
“I can’t believe you threatened him like that.”
“He ruined her life! I want him to know she could just as easily ruin his. He should be grateful she hasn’t.”
“And for him to say he didn’t rape her? What a fuckin’ lunatic.”
“Think you’re gonna have some dark circles under your eyes, mate.”
“Shit.” He sighs. “I don’t even remember hittin’ him.”
“I think he bumped into you again and you lunched at him.” He starts laughing. “I don’t think I’ve seen you reach your boilin’ point like that in a very long time.”
“I should call her.”
“It’s late.”
“She might be up, I need to call her.”
“Put it on speaker, maybe she’ll take it easier on you if she knows I’m here.”
“Good idea.”
//
You were eating some ice cream on the couch watching a move with your mom and Nannie after spending some time at the Casino. You couldn’t wait to show Harry his ring. Your phone goes off, and you’re sort of shocked to see him calling so late. You get up and go into your grandmother’s bedroom to have some privacy.
“Harry? It’s late babe, are you alright? I’m in the middle of a movie, I can’t help you along tonight.” You hear Niall burst out laughing. “Am I on speaker?! Is this a drunk call?!”
“Sorry, sorry, yeah you’re on speaker.” He swats at Niall. “I’m okay, but somethin’ not so chill happened tonight…”
“Like what?”
“We were at a bar…” Niall starts. “And there was this bachelor party happenin’, and, um…”
“Jake was there.” You freeze and walk further into the bedroom and into the ensuite.
“So what happened?”
“Well, we got up to leave.” Niall says.
“But him and his friends kept bumpin’ into us at the bar, and I lost my cool.”
“What does that mean Harry?” Your eyes were starting to water.
“I don’t know how it all happened because it happened so fast, but I hit him, and then I choked him. Niall got me off him, but he got a swing at my face, punched me in the nose. The bouncer threw us all out. No one called the police…”
“Oh my god! Are, are you alright? Did he break your nose?”
“No, it’s just bruised, love.” He tries to say softly to calm you down.
“Harry, you can’t just go around hitting people! You could’ve been arrested!”
“I know, I know, I’m so sorry. It just happened.”
“What happened after you left the bar?”
“We…had some words.” Niall says.
“What kinds of words?”
“I threatened him…”
“He wouldn’t admit what he did to you was rape either.” You wince at the word and nearly vomit.
“You brought me up?! You both, you both are FUCKING IDIOTS! I, I don’t even know what to say right now.”
“We were comin’ from a good place-“
“Niall, I swear to god, just shut the fuck up.” You take a deep breath. “You both are so stupid! Were you all drunk too?”
“Yes.” They say in unison.
“Well that’s just great. Thanks so much for defending my honor. I’m so glad you called to tell me all of this at nearly one in the morning!”
“Would you rather I pick you and your mum up at the airport with a bruised nose with zero explanation?”
“What am I supposed to tell her?! You got into a bar fight? Yeah, that’ll go over really well. You better put some makeup or something over it.” There’s silence for a moment or two. “You both are alright?”
“Yes.” They say together again.
“Okay.” You sigh. “I’m going to get back to what I was doing, and try to calm down. I love you both, goodnight.”
Before they can say anything, you’ve hung up, and made your way back to the living area. Your mom and Nannie were looking at you with concern.
“Harry and Niall got into a fight with someone at a bar. They’re both fine, I can’t really get into it right now, so please don’t ask me about it.” You plop down next your mom, tears starting to burn your cheeks. She throws an arm around you and lets you cry into her. Your Nannie rubs your back to try to soothe you.
//
You soak up as much sun as you can the next couple of days. You were trying to keep your head clear. Mariah helped Harry buy and apply some makeup to make his bruises more subtle. He looked terrible, honestly.
“There.” She says, dabbing the last bit under his eyes. “Now you just look like you haven’t slept.” She smirks.
“Thanks.” He throws everything into a bag. “I hope I can remember how to do all this on my own tomorrow.”
“You said she told her mom right?”
“Yeah, but it looks so much worse than it is, I don’t want them to worry even more.”
“You’re lucky it didn’t break.”
“I know. I wish he would just move across the country or somethin’.”
“Yeah, but he’s not. You can’t just throw down every time you happen to bump into him.”
“Obviously.”
“Jesus, H, you look like shit.” Myk says walking into his office. “Are you wearing makeup?”
“This is why I usually work from home on Fridays.” He groans. “And yes I am, nothin’ wrong with a man wanting to cover some blemishes.”
“A blemish, or a bruise?” She squints at him. “What happened?” She actually looks concerned.
“I got into a little…scrap last night, okay?”
“Are you alright?”
“As if you care, Myk.”
“I do!” Her eyes soften. Mariah stands there awkwardly looking back and forth to the two of them.
“Well…I’m fine. Looks worse than it feels.”
“You should just go home for the rest of the day, I’m sure Chris won’t care.”
“I don’t need to go home, I’m fine.” He looks at the two of them. “Really, it’s all good. Shoulda seen the other guy.”
“Did you have your rings on when you hit him?” Mariah asks.
“Course I did.”
“And he’s not pressing charges?” Mykenzie asks.
“I don’t think he will be, no.” He sighs. “It’s fine.”
“Does your girlfriend know?” Myk asks.
“I called her the night it happened. She wasn’t thrilled. She’s really worried about me, but she’s less angry now.”
“Why did you-“
“Enough with the questions please! The two of yeh are givin’ me a headache. Maybe I will go home.”
He grabs his things and heads out, leaving them both there. He just wants you home with him. He wants to apologize in person for starting something that didn’t need to be started. It was the longest week of his life, and he missed you so much he could cry. In fact, he did a couple times.
//
Harry spent the day Saturday doing all the chores you usually did together. He wanted the place to be spotless for your return. He was to pick you up the airport around six. Your sister would be picking your mom up. He dabbed some of the makeup on under eyes and around his nose just in case your mom was still with you when he picked you up.
You hugged your mom goodbye after you both got your luggage. You were exhausted. You couldn’t fall asleep on the plane, and there was a lot of turbulence so your stomach felt like shit. You were just happy you had a good time and a good tan. You waited out on the curb and looked for Harry’s car. He spots you and waves excitedly, almost forgetting he’s in trouble.
He throws the car in park and gets out. He picks you up and spins you around and you throw your arms around him. Tears prick at the both of your eyes for different reasons. He sets you down, cups your cheeks in his hands and kisses you. Suddenly you forget any ill feelings you had. His lips on yours was like pure heaven after being deprived for a week. A few cars beep at you, so Harry puts your bag in the trunk and off you go.
“Doesn’t look so bad…” You finally say.
“I, uh, put some make up on over it. It looks a lot worse than it feels.” He sighs. “Do you really wanna talk about this now? I’d much rather hear about your trip. Your face is so tan! You look great, babe.”
“I don’t wanna talk about it all actuallyand thank you.” You put your hand on his thigh. “What’s done is done.” He nods.
“Are yeh hungry? Want me to stop somewhere quick on the way home?”
“No, I had a sandwich on the plane. I’m desperate for a shower. We went to the pool this morning and I didn’t have time to rinse off before we packed up.”
“Alright.”
Harry gets you home, and helps with your bag.
“So they didn’t notice your piercing?”
“No they did.” You laugh.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He laughs with you.
“I don’t know.” You shrug. “My mom noticed it right away and it was whatever. My Nannie was like at least it’s not a tattoo. So I was able to wear more of my two pieces, I’m glad I packed some.”
You start taking your clothes off and he follows you into the bathroom.
“Holy shit.” He looks you up and down. “You really got some sun.”
“Mhm, I’m crispier than a chicken nugget, and I love it. I didn’t wear makeup all week either, my skin is so happy right now.” You step into the hot water and Harry sits up on the sink counter. He didn’t feel like showering, but did feel like continuing to chat.
“Did yeh win any at the casino?”
“Mostly just broke even. It was a lot of fun though. I’ll have to show you some of the pictures I took.”
Harry gets up and grabs an envelope from his dresser that he’s been waiting to give you. You get out of the shower and wrap a towel around you.
“God I feel so much better.” He has a huge smile on his face. “What?”
“Here, got his a while ago, thought you should know.”
“Is this a bribe so I don’t stay mad about you getting into a bar fight?” You smirk.
“Nope. You can be mad as long as you want, I know it was stupid.”
“I almost wish I could see what you did to him.” You shake your head and take the envelope. You open it up and gasp, clapping a hand over your mouth. “Harry!” You beam at him. “When did you…”
“Bought ‘em the second they went on sale. Fifth row, dead center.”
“Oh my god! We’re going to see the Weeknd?!”
“Happy very early birthday, babe.”
You throw your arms around his neck and hold him tight.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’m so excited!” You  kiss him on the cheek. “Will you hold onto these?”
“Yup, I’ll stick ‘em back in my dresser.”
You go into your carry on and rummage in it, pulling out a black box.
“I got you a little something while I was away.” You hand him the box.
“You didn’t have to do tha’…”
“Just open it.”
He opens the box and sees the sunflower ring. His jaw drops and he looks at you.
“Way too expensive.”
“Oh well, can’t return it now. Try it on. I got it for the size of your middle finger.”
Harry takes one of his rings off and puts it on. His nails were recently painted pastel purple for the Easter holiday. He loved the way the white gold contrasted with it.
“So…you were at the store, saw this, and thought of me?” He asks without looking at you, fixated on the ring.
“Mhm. I thought since I wear your favorite flower, you could wear mine. Not everyone can see your tattoo. Do you…do you like it?”
“Like it?” His eyes were glossy. “I love it!”
He comes over to you and cups your cheeks his hands and kisses you. Your hands go on his hips.
“M’never takin’ it off.” He says against your lips. His tongue swipes across your bottom lip and you open up for him. His tongue molds with yours and moan into him right away. “Miss me a little?” He whispers.
“Missed you a lot.” You look up at him. “I barely slept most nights.” You pout.
“You’ll sleep good tonight, I’ll make sure of it.” He undoes your towel and lets it pool at your feet. “I can’t get over these tan lines.” He says, cupping your breasts.
You tug at the hem of his shirt and he takes it off. He undoes his pants as you sit back on the bed.
“I can’t, um, go down on yeh unfortunately, as much I really want to. Nose it too sore.”
“It’s okay. Your fingers aren’t sore, right?” You smirk and he bites his bottom lip.
“Nope.”
He crawls on the bed and you part your legs for him. He sucks two fingers into his mouth and grazes them against your folds.
“Did you look at the pictures while I was gone?”
“Yes.” He blushes as he rubs circles on your clit. “More than I’d like to admit.” You giggle.
His fingers push inside you, and curl up. Your head rolls back and your mouth falls open. He really wants to lick you, but he knows he would end up nose deep and that was just not good for his health at the moment. He pumps in and out of you and hit that sweet spot inside.
“Fuck, Harry.” You breathe as your eyes roll into the back of your head. “That’s it right there.”
He pumps faster. Your nails dig into his shoulders. He can feel you clenching around him, wanting to clamp your legs together, but he keeps them spread apart. Your back arches and you moan his name again as you release onto his fingers. He sucks them back into his mouth to at least get a little taste of you.
Harry wondered when you’d wanna break out the new toys. He desperately wanted to ask, but he knew you must have hid them for a reason and he didn’t want you to feel embarrassed.
“Lay back doll, I wanna ride you.”
Harry smiles and does what you say. He sits up against the head board and you crawl onto his lap. You wrap your hand around his dick and play with his top with your thumb. You kiss him, slipping your tongue into his mouth. He groans against you as you stroke his dick. You raise your hips slightly and slowly lower yourself onto him. You both groan with satisfaction.
“You feel so good.” You say into his ear. “So snug.” You raise and lower on him until you find a good rhythm. You nibble on his earlobe and his hands slide to your ass to help you move faster on him.
“Missed you so much, fuck.” He practically whimpers when you tighten and loosen around him a few times. He grits his teeth as he thrusts up into you, the both of you moving in sync together.
“Tell me how good it feels, Harry.” You say into his ear with a whisper.
“Feels so fuckin’ good.” His fingers press harder into your ass. “You’re so fuckin’ wet.” One his hands moves to rub your clit and you sink your teeth into his neck.
“God, fuck me up Harry.” Both of his eyebrows raise. You clench around him and your second release comes.
He doesn’t give you time to recover before your face down on the bed, and he’s entering you from behind. He pulls your hips back. You move your ass back against him in sync with his thrusts so you can feel him as deep as you possibly can. You’re propped up on your elbows with your back arched.
“Alright?” He grunts.
“Yes! Don’t stop, you’re hitting it.” You grip at the blankets, making your knuckles go white. He was hitting your g-spot with such ferocity you knew you’d be coming again soon.
He has one hand on your hip and the other on the back of your neck. He was absolutely railing you, and it felt amazing. You had sex like this all the time when you were in college, before the anything bad happened to you.
The room was filled with the sound of skin slapping against skin. To put it bluntly, your cheeks were getting clapped. You could feel his balls slapping against you and it was making you go cross eyed.
“Harry!” You moan.
“Gonna come again?”
“Yes! Fuck, yes.”
“Go on, Y/N, come for me.”
Your back arches more and he grips the back of your neck so hard he’s yanking your back to him. One arm snaking between your breasts to hold you steady, and the other moving to rub your clit. Your head rolls back on his shoulder. You’re panting and gasping as you come. It was so intense your vision went blurry.
“Can I bend you over the bed?” He says, sinking his teeth into your shoulder. You gasp at the feeling.
“Yes.”
You both get off the bed, and he bends you over it. He slips back inside you with ease.
“Fuck.” He moans. He rocks in and out of you, his hands clinging to your hips.
“Harry, please come, fill me up.”
He thrusts quicken and grow sloppy. Your back arches when you feel his warm come sput inside you. He collapses on top of you when he finishes. You feel him pull out and his release drips down your thighs. His weight on you felt amazing, and you didn’t want him to leave. You whimper when he gets off of you.
“M’gonna get a rag to clean yeh up.” He says softly. He returns quickly and crouches behind you to clean you up. “They yeh go.” He throws the rag in the hamper. You stand to face him and your legs feel like jello. “You were amazing, you know that?” He kisses your forehead.
“M’so tired.” You rub your eyes like a child.
“Time for bed then, yeah?” It was only a little after eight.
“You don’t mind going to bed so early?”
“You’re finally home, of course I don’t mind.” He chuckles. “Go do your thing, I’m gonna get settled in.”
You walk into the bathroom and do your routine. You get into the bed and snuggle up to Harry. You take turns all night spooning each other. You both wanted to be held by the other. Eventually you passed out with his head on your chest. It was perfect.
