Mischaracterization in fics is annoying and can sometimes make me be like “he would not say that” EXCEPT when I do it. he would say that because I am holding him at gunpoint to do so

I wish that instead of passively acknowledging Nine being an asshole to Five and the other Garde telling him to just brush him off, there should have been more tension in that and calling out Nine going "dude what's you're deal he's one of us."
The whole thing was done to put Five as the victim of the situation while also being a bit of an off-putting guy for everyone and not easy to interact with. Then both of these facts are inverted by his infamous traitor reveal at the end of FoF, which puts Nine in the right for being an asshole (and makes a second read through feel more justified and satisfying for readers who hate Five) and makes Five's awkwardness entirely purposeful so that he appears less of a threat for a majority of the book. Because Five is the antagonist working for the main villain and is willing to put his own people behind him to get what he wants (later questioned as actual brainwashing though it never gets touched on any further than that because Five sucks ig)
Aside from that it would have felt more sensible for the characters who actually really hate asshole behavior to get on Nine's case during the book, I feel like the tension would have brought up a really good defining point about the Garde's situation and who they pick and choose as their allies. Nine was an asshole, but he was also one of their best fighters, teachers, and knew how to be sensitive when it called for it. He's rude, but he's honest and charismatic about it and knows how to play up a joke. He's annoying, makes crude comments, and is difficult to get along with, but dropping him from the team meant shrinking their chances at fighting Setrákus Ra. The Garde are all united under the same cause, and it's unlikely they'd all get along together if someone was constantly putting them on edge (something they did with Five going forward from FoT, so the writers knew how to pull this one off). So pointing out how Nine is difficult to be around for frustrating reasons puts to light the necessities of allies and community needed to fight a common cause, how not everyone you work with will be your friend, and how everyone has to deal with it when working with someone they would rather not be in the same room with. And instead of an anti-hero/villain-turned-ally character who creates the tension, it's a character who has sworn up and down he will fight for any Loric in his introductory book
It also brings out Nine's characteristic behavior from RoN that made his chemistry and parallels to John so interesting, and expands them to show how he creates tension and discomfort with other characters and how they deal with a person like him. Eight tolerating him because of his passive nature and revealing his discomfort for fights and unease because of his history and regrets with Reynolds and Lola. Marina having dealt with abuse and shying away from Nine when he starts getting riled up, and feeling conflicted because she thought the Garde would make her feel more confident and safe and learn to stand for herself, though maybe it's dealing with Nine that gives her a voice after all the shit she went through. Ella romanticizing Nine (whatever this meant to her character according to what the writers wanted) and ignoring his faults and finding him cool anyway, being on his defense and revealing to the reader's that this kind of romantic mannerism is integral to something deeper in her character, like finding comfort after Crayton's death and seeing Nine in a really protective and fun perspective that she admires, or having a regular crush like any pre-teen would and holding something so remarkably normal for what her life has been ever since she joined the Garde. Six having beef with Nine while respecting the way he holds himself in a fight, and hating it just a little how he's a good team player as opposed to her and her independent survival style that she has to learn while working with the others
It would have spiced up the dynamic between the whole group and maybe led to a different branch of character development for everyone if things went as they did in canon
And I wish there was a good reason for Nine being an asshole to Five in the first place, because what we got first and foremost was that he made the mistake of marking his presence via crop circle (understandably knocks on Five a couple pegs for a decision like that had he actually been running from the Mogs, but not a whole book of being ridiculed), and every instance after that had been a crude fat and lazy comment (consistent because Nine made similar comments to the truckers in RoN, still not great)

2020 ~everything~ wrap
i finally have time to do all of the tag games that people have tagged me in over the past month or so! i cannot for the life of me remember who tagged me in which one, so i’m just putting ~everything~ in one huge post. if i tag you anywhere then consider it a standing invitation to do whichever of these you haven’t done :) in fact, this is me issuing a standing invite to any of my followers who wants to do it :) also, thank you all!
Creator Wrap: Favourite Works
Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 (or so) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
this collection of philosophy quotes paired with thai bl series, (and its sequel) which is possibly my favourite thing i’ve ever made. for, uh, nerd reasons.
these gifted text post memes i made still make me laugh sometimes
this fic about green from 2gether, which i wrote in the notes app on my phone and published the same day. not my absolute best writing but i am very fond of it <3
i have a bunch fof friend zone dangerous area edits/shitposts which i like, but i’m particularly fond of my fzda as satire headlines (which now has a sequel!)
i also love my crisgood-walmart-lesbian post. i might send it in to gmmtv to try and convince them to do a crisgood-bffs spin-off
+ bonus: since i wrote this list i made this gifset (my first ever!) of jennie panhan in the shipper and i love her too much not to include her on here
+ extra nerdy bonus: this niche meme about Chinese philosophy, which still makes me crack up whenever I think about it
Favourite Creators/Follow Forever
i’ve completely lost track of who’s following who from which blog, so this is just going to be a haphazard, non-exhaustive list of people who i adore/admire/am vaguely intimidated by, mutuality be damned. maybe we talk all the time! maybe we’ve never interacted! maybe i am constantly there in ur tags... lurking... 👀... but if you’re on this list you have made me smile at least once this year and i love you for that alone <3
@wjmild kylie!! you make gifs of arm & tay & lee (separately or in various combinations) & the shipper & and kapook & random fluke pusit cameos & school rangers so i don’t have to <3 ilysm
@janeramida vianey, you have such impeccable taste in general, but your sizzy gifset in particular is so gorgeous it lives in my mind rent free
@applelapis bri, this post was a callout and i want you to know that it haunts me at night as i lie awake staring at the ceiling :((((( i hope you are happy

@ahysopae juliette your khaithird fic is so good and it literally changed the way i think about khai (not an easy feat)
@kurosawadachi angel, whenever i think about grace’s speech i remember your gifset and get literal chills
@doctorbahnjit alexa, you have no right to be as funny as you are. your friend zone edits give me life
@khaotungthanawat sam, you’re probably sick of getting tagged in these lists by random strangers, but i just had to bc your gifsets are Pure Art
@tanwirapong roa, all your gifsets are so ✨iconic✨
faiza @asianmelodrama and rahul @petekaos! yours were the first two thai drama blogs i followed and for ages i lowkey thought of you as my fandom parents.
and some more blogs that make me happy: @curlykytta / @lee-thanat  / @fck-inspector-m / @pangwave / @tichawongtipkanon / @tawanv @kimmonv (violet istg i have spent more time this year trying to figure out how many blogs you have than i have spent admiring your gifsets. & i spend a lot of time admiring your gifsets) / @taytawan / @1akorn and @yihwas (and your radiant lovechild @lakornladies ofc) / @teh-ohaew / @vihokratanas (mel your gifsets are just so gorgeous) / @tootiredtoosadtooangry / @headcompletelyempty / @demiromanticmickey / and there are definitely more but my brain is a sieve so apologies if i’ve forgotten anyone!! i love you all!!
2020 HIGHLIGHTS ✨
rules: list your top 10 shows (bl or not) you watched in 2020 (doesn’t necessarily have to be shows that came out in 2020 though!)
1. 2GETHER & STILL2GETHER
Tumblr media
my first thai drama, and even after all the amazing shows i’ve watched this year, it still has a special place in my heart. watching 2gether was the first time i’d ever seen a queer romcom that just... was. for me, by the simple fact of its being, 2gether was revolutionary. and then still2gether came along and took all the best things about the first season and gave us something beautiful and quiet and lovely and just proved to me, once and for all, that queer happiness doesn’t need to justify its own existence. there can be gay cuddles on the beach for no other reason than that we want them.
2. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
Tumblr media
i don’t really have the words for this one but. it makes my heart so very soft.
3. FRIEND ZONE 2: DANGEROUS AREA
Tumblr media
season one was mindless fun because everyone was an absolute trashfire and it was hella cathartic to watch, but season 2... wow. i love it for so many reasons: it has messy and authentic queer rep; the characterisation is excellent and i somehow care about all of the characters; amazing women taking centre stage(!); a wlw relationship with lesbian, ace and bipolar rep; multiple interesting plotlines; actual character development; arm weerayut as a chaos gremlin... absolutely one of my favourites of 2020.
4. CHERRY MAGIC
Tumblr media
i don’t think i need to explain this one, which is fortunate, because i have no idea how exactly i’d describe the happy-warm-fuzzy-queer-seen-loving-affirmed-profound feeling that rises in my chest whenever i think about it.
5. THE GIFTED: GRADUATION
Tumblr media
confession: i liked season 2 more than season 1 (with the exception of the ending, which we don’t talk about). season 1 was enjoyable and interesting, but for me it was season 2 which made me love this series. it did some incredibly interesting and complicated things (even if it didn’t quite nail the landing): it pushed characters to the breaking point and wove so many layers into the story and questioned its own underlying themes. plus, watching it alongside everyone in the fandom made it 200% better. i love all of you and i love this show. egg girl 5eva.
6. THE SHIPPER
Tumblr media
i 100% understand why so many people didn’t like this show, or found it problematic, but through some fluke it absolutely worked for me (even the ending). one day i will write an essay explaining my rationale, but for now i’ll just say that it’s one of my favourite shows about adolescence and queerness and identity and compassion and friendship and love that i’ve ever watched.
7. YYY
Tumblr media
this series is absolutely off its rocker, and it somehow managed to be one of the most affirming shows i’ve watched. it shouldn’t have worked by it did, and i love it so much.
8. 3 WILL BE FREE
Tumblr media
absolutely iconic. amazing plot, stunning visuals, great characters, canon polyamory, jennie being incredible... what a series.
9. MANNER OF DEATH
Tumblr media
i love the fact that this show exists; i love the mix of crime and romance; i love maxtul’s acting; i love the central relationship; i love bun. i know we’re not even halfway through yet, but this show is doing something special and i’m so grateful that i get to watch it unfold in real time.
10. CHIHAYAFURU (SEASON 3)
Tumblr media
odd one out on my list, but I had to include it. chihayafuru is my all-time favourite anime and it finally got a third season, which is somehow even better than the first two. mashima taichi is one of my favourite characters of all time and his storyline hits me on such a profound level. plus, in the years since i first say this show i’ve fallen in love with classical japanese literature (particularly heian poetry) so i had newfound appreciation for the karuta matches (aka i cried every time someone recited one of my favourite poems)
other favourites: together with me, he’s coming to me, sotus and sotus s, my dear loser: edge of 17, why r u, theory of love, wake up chanee!, gameboys, pearl next door, uta koi (anime), three kingdoms (2010), blood and water (netflix). (itsay would almost certainly be on my list if i’d had time to watch it. same with dark blue kiss, which i had to pause so i could do my assignments)
Final Thoughts
well, it’s been... a year (i don’t think anyone needs a reminder of the details) but writing this post has reminded me of all the amazing shows and people I discovered over the course of it.
thank you to everyone for being so lovely and creative and funny and quirky and kind and passionate. you’re all incredibly awesome people and i wish all of you the very best xx

Meme Trip 2k19, Pt. 1
Dates: May 16 and 17th
Park: Kings Island in Mason, Ohio
I didn’t make trip reports for my second meme-trip in August of 2018. At the time, I thought I was doing myself a favor. Now, I incredibly regret not sharing that stuff straight away. I missed the chance to talk about my first visits to two parks that have very unique spots in my life. The first of those, obviously, is Six Flags New England, a park I’d been dying to go to because of one certain Superman. {And I did leave Massachusetts as a Super Stan.} The other of these parks is Kings Island.
Kings Island and I have a long, storied history filled with intense emotions. Like Carowinds, a lot of my plans to visit KI fell dead along the way— Dad didn’t win the tickets, I didn’t like my classmates enough to justify the trip, I wasn’t able to make the drive up, etc. It’s a park that means a lot to my dad, and he took my mom there when she came to meet his family for the first time. He was one of the first riders of Beast, there for her birthday as a gift for his own.
I cried in 2018 because I didn’t want it to be my home park when I thought I would be going to Northern Kentucky University. I used to crusade hard as hell for KI to never get a giga. The park gave me the largest heebie-jeebies when I visited in August of 2018. I don’t think I feel emotions as intensely for theme parks as some of my comrades, but Kings Island is one of those parks that almost makes me believe I can.
It was a rainy Thursday after a day of nothing but car-riding [and driving for Casie, bless her soul] when we pulled up into the parking lot. We saw that infamous “HELL IS REAL” billboard about an hour out, and I found it quite ironic. For a park that’s been so full of death and negative energy, it was fitting that that’s where we saw the iconic sign.
When we got into the park, both of the Not-Evil Wooden Coasters [NEWC, as it is] were down. We didn’t know why regarding Beast, but we did find out later that Mystic was struggling from electrical issues that day. We liked to think they were conspiring to make the 2020 giga not suck and help everyone else with half a soul say “fuck off” to Steve. Enemy of the enemy is my friend and whatnot.
Instead, we decided to get a snake in our boot since we were already in Rivertown. Diamondback has always been a solid ride—I maintain that B&M hypers are like ordering chicken tenders at a new restaurant because it’s very, very hard to mess them up and even 232 is fun when the trims don’t hit—but she was running really well that day. Diamondback ended up being our final ride of the day in the pouring rain. Rain at 80 mph doesn’t feel very great, but it was a laugh riot and worth it. I keep meaning to get a front-row ride on this, but the back row is such a tantalizing experience that I can’t quite pull myself away from it.
As far as B&M hypers go (and I’m not counting Fury), Diamondback is now my favorite. At any other park, it would probably be my second favorite in the overall roster, but Snek is actually my third at KI because of the aforementioned NEWCs. I wish we were able to get a ride in the following day, but Coasterstock had her queues slammed. Oh well.
After that, we headed over to see our favorite little anxiety boy, Flight of Fear. I don’t get the hate these rides receive. I find both this and his twin at KD to be fine, upstanding rides that are always worth at least one lap when I go. It’s one of those rare rides where stopping on the MCBR actually works in its favor. We were also assigned to the front row, which gives me the biggest uwus. We came up with a really cool character concept if Orion/Polaris sucks in the queue for FOF, and even if the ride is underwhelming, we’re happy Felix has a vaguely-powerful ally. There’s not a whole lot else about FOF to say- the transitions were nice and whippy, the little alien as you pull into the exit station is adorable, and I like the enclosure of it. I hope FOF is around for a nice long while.
(Obligatory RIP Firehawk comment here as well. Thanks for being a good flyer. Piss off, Nighthawk.)
Since it was the only wooden coaster open, it’s time to talk about Racer. I don’t want to talk about Racer. But sadly, I have to talk about Racer. Everything about this ride feels wrong- the aerial view of the turnarounds, the tunnels on the brake runs, the way almost literally everyone else universally adores this ride… Racer holds a lot of energy, and all of it is cryptic. It makes me wish I’d ridden Thunder Road, because Rebel Yell does not have this sense of permanent creeping dread. Ride-wise, Racer is inoffensive. But the vibe that ride gives me isn’t good. At all. We rode twice, red and blue. We raced Deb, Kat, and Brandon while in red and lost. We were the only people on red train, but we did not feel alone in the worst possible way. We won when we rode blue to peek at construction. The cheering in the tunnels had us fucked up.
I hate that, if there are any personifications that have a chance of being real, it’s most likely Abraham and Thaddeus. I’ve never been so wrong about a coaster’s personification before I rode it in my life.
We needed an exorcism after that ride on blue train, so we went to Banshee next. Again, while not my favorite invert, I don’t understand why so many people seem to hate this ride. I think a B&M invert complements their park nicely, and that slow roll at the end is nothing short of fire-hot. It’s also tons of fun to flip off Outpost 5 while you’re on it. It’s what Brynn would want us to do. Plus, missing the pre-drop never fails to give me butterflies! I do wish they had played the audio scream before we dropped though.
We got to ride this with one of our Insta friends, Wild, and we were both really happy to see her. She’s a great kid, and Banshee is a fun ride. We love our pastel goth icon, and we love our Junkrat Stan of a little sister. We also befriended a Banshee ride operator, and their group chat is called “Banshee’s Hot Topic” and that makes me want to cry in a good way.
Bat is awful in the sense that it breaks my heart. Yes, Tanner as a character is very sad (especially so in the Project Shooting Star universe), but it always hammers home how badly I miss Big Bad Wolf. What I’d give for one last ride on the Rhine with my lupine friend… Bat’s in a beautiful area, but that queue makes me feel like I’m at Camp Crystal Lake and Jason’s about to have some fun. Also, can we all say how much we hate seeing SOB’s old station? Because I hate that! A lot!!
Again. Like Racer, Bat as a ride is objectively inoffensive. But there’s so much energy around it, and I’m not sure if it’s residual garbage leftover from Son, the gunpowder factory, and the safari or what. Bat feels so detached from the rest of the park, but I don’t think there’s a more perfect place than KI for a ride that feels this full of sorrow.
Vortex was a one-and-done for us after some sinfully delicious blue ice cream, but I do admit it was better in the rain. The drop actually provided some decent air, and while the transitions are pretty janky, it’s an Arrow from the 80s. You can’t go into it expecting something butter smooth like B&M. That isn’t fair. It’s still not my favorite Arrow looper, and it wasn’t even my favorite one of this trip, but I do think I might have judged it a tad too harshly before. Like FOF, there isn’t much else to say about this ride.
The people we met also made the day phenomenal! Wild, Brandon, Kat, Debra…this one’s for you. I raise my Raisin’ Cane’s tea to ya’ll, stay funky and ride on.
But one day at that cryptic-ass park is never enough, shit’s like Hotel California. Being gluttons for punishment, we returned to Cursed Island.
Kings Island is so different in bright sunshine. It almost feels like a normal amusement park. Almost. We went for the first couple of hours, since Coasterstock people were there and it was a Friday on top of that. It was also hot as a ghost pepper outside. I’m still really sad we missed Tristin and Plummy!! Maybe next time. We did, however, finally get to meet Stephanie in real-life, and she’s pretty chill. We did the dumbest shit for our picture. However, I’m 99% sure the ride operator said “Enjoy your ride on Son of Beast!” when she was with us and I heavily dislike that.
We’d done basically everything else that we had wanted to the day prior. We already had the credits for Backlot, Invertigo, and Adventure Express, and none of those really warranted waiting in the lines. Vortex and Bat had been ridden already this visit. We have mad love for Banshee, FOF, and Diamondback, but those waits were gnarly. We didn’t want to even look at Racer again, let alone ride it. So now, we went to the NEWCs.
Since Five is dead, we rode Beast three times that morning. She was over her alcoholic shitfit, I suppose, and was running very well. Brandon called Beast a good noodle. From a ride standpoint, you can make the case that until that final helix, Beast doesn’t do very much. I personally like how it’s a bit more speed-oriented, but I understand why some others might not. Like Boulder Dash, I think a lot of the ride experience comes from the scenery. I also think knowing Beast’s history makes it the marvel it is. We got some pretty good air on the first hill after the main drop, and that helix is always so damn scary to me. Top 10 coaster moment for sure.
Beast has a TON of energy to it, but unlike Racer or Bat, it isn’t malicious. You may not like Beast, but you WILL respect Beast, you feel? And that energy is why I think Beast will always be my favorite in the park, even over the giga (and especially so if those blueprints are real.) Beast isn’t just a coaster. It’s an experience, and one that makes the park so worth visiting. My only regret is we didn’t get one of those fantastic night-rides.
If those blueprints are real, it’s time to talk about what will most likely still be my second favorite coaster at KI come 2020. Since Thunderhead was my first major coaster, I always have held a soft spot for GCI. And while I do still believe Thunderhead is better, boy howdy do I love Mystic Timbers. It’s a shitshow of a name for a kickass ride. Lines only allowed us to ride once, but we were lucky enough to be assigned to row one. Mystic is definitely better towards the front, I believe. You feel better air there, and while I still don’t think MyTi’s got ejector, it’s stronger floater in the front. (The truck out front played Survivor and I had to scream “WOW I LOVE SIX FLAGS”, so maybe she was just pissy over that.)
I understand why people were disappointed with the shed. Holograms can’t hold a candle when you’re expecting a Verbolten-style drop track. But the shed is cute for what it is, and it’s better than being stacked in the sunshine. We saw the snake scene this time, which is probably my favorite since Tatzelwurm doesn’t even exist in PSS universe anymore. Killer Cat was the best shed scene, but snakes will do.
Also, fun fact about Mystic. When we visited in October, I kept saying how badly I wanted to hear Bonnie Tyler in the shed. We hear it. Friday, I jokingly went “oh booooy I hope I hear my girl Bonnie again!” Lo and behold, we hit the shed and it plays Total Eclipse of the Heart. I lost my goddamn mind. Mystic Timbers said 80s retro. Hate that name, but man oh man, do I love that ride. We love our GCIs with big tiddys and bad personalities.
We rode the train to snag some pictures of Mystic and Snake Friend, but then we dipped and hit Taco Bell as one does. It was better that way. Kings Island had told us all it wanted to for now, and it let us take our time to mosey to the next park and really digest what we’d seen. We also had the opportunity to meet back up with Bee and spend some time with her since we left!
All in all, KI is such a cursed park. I know saying that makes it sound like I really dislike KI, but that’s not the case. I adore Kings Island BECAUSE it’s so cryptic. Their lineup is solid, and even though we can’t truly judge the giga before it opens, I don’t think it’s going to elevate them any but it won’t necessarily bring the park down. There’s so, so much in Mason to unpack, especially in the months to come. I can’t wait to see them again.

"My heart is heavy and hurting for animals and dairy farmers today. I ask you to stop sharing and stop viewing this video until you educate yourself.
For everyone sharing the "Fair Oaks Farm" video, and are "outraged" by the content ...there are a few things you probably need to know:
1) The "ARM" is a pro-vegan group, whose agenda and intent IS to end the consumption of all true dairy products.
2) The "ARM" group, "infiltrated" the FOF operations, as employees. In order to compile the footage they've shown you, they had to work for FOF for nearly two years....and after two years, that was all the footage they could compile.
3) While acting as "employees", these "ARM" protestors both participated in, and conducted the acts of abuse they filmed, essentially manufacturing some, if not all of the abusive acts filmed.
4) FOF has a policy of "see something, say something", to which the "ARM" employees refused to do...so only by violating FOF policies, did the abuse occur....at the necessity of "ARM's" socio-political agenda.
5) FOF, released a statement, several weeks ago...well before "ARM" released it's "footage"...explaining that they discovered the groups activities. How did FOF discover the activities? By terminating the employees who were abusing the animals. After being terminated, the "ARM" infiltrators bragged about how they were going to "ruin" FOF, and subseqently exposed themselves.
6) Of the 4 employees involved in the abuse to which "ARM" shows footage of....the 3 that worked directly for FOF were terminated. Two of those employees, were later exposed to be apart of the "ARM" operation. The fourth person involved, is not a FOF employee, at all.
7) Actual FOF employees observed the abuse being committed and staged by those working for "ARM", and they reported the abuse...which led to FOF both discovering these activities and terminating the employment of the abusers.
All that said, the truth is, "ARM" staged the abuse, conducted the abuse, and then reported the abuse, while actual FOF employees discovered it, put a stop to it, and are now under attack by the social media for something they didn't actually do. There are always two sides to every story.
Thank you Melissa Klingerman for your research into this post."

Stop Ignoring me >> Sehun, You
Our FOF hidden card ❤
Tumblr media
No 119 “ Stop ignoring me… ” & No. 145 “ Go back to bed. ”
“Oh! Hey!” You said, awkwardly at Sehun, who just standing in front of you, looking not all that pleased. “What? What is wrong?”
You went out of your room to get some water as you felt thirty, you never expected the guy you tried hard to ignore during this trip to be there as if he was waiting for you.
“What is wrong with you?” Sehun asked. His arms were wrapped around his chest. He was leaning on the kitchen counter on leg bent and the other stretched to the floor, supporting his body weight.
“Me? I am fine.” You walked around the table as you opened the fridge for a bottle of water.
You gasped in surprise when a hand reached behind you to close the fridge’s door. He was standing right behind you, cadging you between the fridge and him.
“Stop ignoring me, Y/N,” Sehun said. His voice was low that sent shivers all over your body.
“I am not...”
“You are ignoring me.” He sighed, pulling away from you. “Ever since that day.”
You bit your lips, trying hard to not to recall what you had seen. It happened the first day they arrived in Tokyo. Sehun and the girl who had been roaming around him, showering him with flirting behavior were kissing in his room. It isn’t like you were Sehun’s girlfriend, nevertheless, it was clear that there was something between you and him. He told you many times that he liked your company, but he never made official, neither did you.
After that day, you had been avoiding him for the rest of the trip day.
You just couldn’t help the burning in your chest when you saw him and then remember the way they were kissing and then remember the way he said nice things to you. There was a point when you thought that it was all in your imagination and that Sehun never actually liked you or wanted to be with you.
You were too embarrassed to even face him. You were too annoyed, too jealous to see him.
“I don’t want to talk about it. It is none of my business.” You said, turning around and stopped.
He was way too close to you that your heart stopped for a second. You sucked in a breath and held it. The lack of personal space made you feel fuzzy.
“If it is not your business then why are ignoring me.” He asked leaning closer to you.
You stepped backward, that you were pressed against the fridge. “I am not ignoring you.”
“You walk the other way when you see me. You stopped talking to me and you will not even meet my eyes or say good morning for the past couple of days and you are not ignoring me.”
“Well, Hyejin will not like me being around you.” You said, looking at him slowly.
“Who cares what Hyejin likes?”
“But she is your girlfriend.”
“Is anyone I kiss is my girlfriend?”
You went still, pressing your lips together. “Then do you kiss anyone and everyone? Do you just flirt with whoever?” So after all, you misunderstood him. But why did he even care if you were ignoring him or not?
“I want to go back to bed, Sehun.” You said with a sigh when he didn’t say anything. “Step aside please.”
“No!”
“No!!” You scoffed rolling your eyes. Part of you felt stupid and the other was angry. “Sehun, I don’t go around and flirt with anyone. If you are not serious for even one percent, please, stop now.”
“This came out wrong.” Sehun sighed, shaking his head. “She kissed me. I was as surprised as you. My heart dropped when I saw you at my bedroom door. I didn’t want you to come at this moment. I was going to explain to you but...” he sighed again. “I saw you with Chanyeol hyung and you were smiling as if you saw nothing so I thought that... you don’t actually like me.”
“I was smiling because I didn’t want to cry. I thought you were messing around with me. But I like you, no doubt.”
He tried to hide his smile but failed. “Sorry, but hearing it makes me happy.”
“Jerk.” You push him away, frowning. “Why was she even in your room?”
“She said she wanted to tell me something. She kind of has personal problems and she asks for advice from time to time.”
“What a gentleman.” You said, sarcastically, making Sehun grin.
“Are you jealous?”
“No!”
“No, you are.” He wrapped his arms around your waist, but you removed them as you pulled away from front m his grip. Nevertheless, he still trying to get a hold of you.
“Go back to bed, Sehun.” You managed finally to get away from him. A big smile displayed on your face like an idiot in love.
“Okay.” He was grinning too as he walked backward, his hand in the air in surrender. “See you in the morning, Y/N” Finally you were going to drink and go back to sleep.
“See you, Sehun.”
“I like you, Y/N”
You blushed madly as you looked at him with wide eyes. “Keep it down the other will hear you.”
He chuckled before turning around and disappear upstairs, leaving you alone in the kitchen grinning and recalling the whole event from the begging till the end. Over and over and over.

Dust-Tone Interview: Sweatson Klank (fka TAKE)
Tumblr media
art by dusq.
Sweatson Klank (formerly known as Take) is nothing short of a musical pioneer. Having been at the center of the ever-growing beats community for almost two decades now, Tom Wilson has helped engineer the creative environment that is known and loved today. You can find his discography scattered amongst nearly a dozen revered labels (including Project: Mooncircle, All City, Friends of Friends, Poo-Bah, Alpha Pup and more). He has also produced an extensive collection of official DJ mixes for beloved radio stations and collectives (BBC, dublab, BTS, Low End Theory, Brainfeeder and many more). Most important to note however is his paramount Sketchbook night which laid the foundation for the famed Low End Theory and the fertile Los Angeles beat community as a whole in the early-mid 2000′s.
While Sweatson Klank is both busy with musical projects and running the label Tone and Manor, we were fortunate enough to sit down and get his perspective on the current musical climate.
Dust-Tone: When did you first start making music and what got you interested in it? Early influences?
Sweatson Klank: I started making music when i was 13. I had a deep connection to music really early on. I got a guitar and took lessons for a year. From there on I jammed with my friends and eventually started a couple little bands in High School. I also got a bass and started playing bass a little here and there. These bands were just little garage bands where we would play parties and wherever we got invited to play, but it was good fun and I learned a lot from those experiences. When i got to college i quickly started looking for other musicians to form a band with but had trouble finding people I related to musically. Around that time I went to a huge house party off campus and really got my first taste of what a dj was truly capable of. This guy, who later became a good friend was rocking a crown of about 300 people with just turntables, records and a mixer. Mind you, this was well before cdjs or Serato. At the time is was still really special to witness a dj playing records and doing so with a technical prowess I hadn't ever seen before. I had an epiphany, that night. I watched this dj just control a crowd and they were loving it. I had been having trouble forming a new band because I had a really strong opinion of what i wanted it to sound like and others didn't seem to see eye to eye with me. I was always telling people how to play and what to play with their instruments. As you can imagine, no one really liked that hahaha. Little did i know i was a producer in the making. I had all these ideas but I wasn't capable of playing them or truly expressing them yet. So back to this party, I was shocked to see this dj setting the vibe and expressing himself through playing records. I sat there all night bugging him to let me try it. Of course, he kept saying no, get lost. Finally as it got later and he got drunker, he told me " If you want to make a fool of yourself go ahead" and handed me the headphones. I had never touched a turntable or mixer in my life, but i had been watching him do it all night. So i got up there and started flipping through his records, which i knew absolutely nothing about, they were all house records. The only record i knew was a Micheal Jackson record - " Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" so i grabbed it and somehow magically blended a perfect mix on my first try and the crowd went nuts!! Most likely because it was MJ and that song gets any party hype hahah.. So i grabbed another record i didn't know and tried again and completely train wrecked and the dj grabbed the head phones back from me and went back on. That one moment of glory though was enough to set it all off for me. The next week i was at his house begging him to teach me and practice on his turntables. Its just snowballed from there. i was hooked, started buying records, eventually got turntables, a club night, started dj'ing all over. I learned to dj playing house music but i was much more into Hip Hop and Funk and Soul. After about a year, i realized i wanted to actually make tracks and not just be a dj. So i got a drum machine, and then a sampler, and a four track and there you have it, i was on my way to doing what i still love to do today.
DT: What are you currently listening to? Does this affect the evolution of your current sound? Do you find yourself holding onto influences and themes of the past over new music tendencies or is how you make music flowing more with the changing of the times?
SK: That question is pretty difficult because I listen to so much music all the time. I really don't listen to any one style of music constantly. I love to discover old music that I didn't know. Record collecting is still one of my favorite hobbies so Im constantly finding stuff from the past that is incredibly inspiring and influential in the music i make today. I think i am much more inspired by the sounds of the past than i am the sounds of most fo todays music. As an artist, your tastes are constantly evolving, and to me thats a beautiful thing. It shows your own growth, and life is all about growing. When I am not in the studio working, i generally prefer to listen to old records. Jazz, Brazilian, African, weird electronic library records, New Age music and i love 80's Soul/R&B boogie stuff!
DT: You've been a pretty important staple in the "beat scene" for over a decade now. Low End Theory (which has now sadly come to a finale), Dublab, AllCity, Warp, Ghostly, Poobah, Project Mooncircle, even BBC and so many more love you. You are the modern hero to the independent beat maker. Do you feel like growing up on the west coast had any impact on early exposure to this musical way of thought? Able to meet the right people, get pushed in the right directions, etc?
SK: Thanks man, so nice of you. I think just having a forward thinking attitude about music and life really helped me most. Low End was a great place that helped me get noticed and meet tons of incredible people who shared similar perspectives on music. Before Low End though, we had a night called Sketchbook which was essentially an early version of all of that. Our goal was just to push the weirder left field side of hip hop and downtempo electronic music before it was actually cool. It was an uphill battle at first but but we just did it out of love for the music and a passion to play stuff no one else was playing.
DT: How has the "beats" community changed since you first entered it? Some would argue what was once a niche LA sound has spread worldwide and transformed through the different cultures. Does this influence your music?
SK: When we started doing this, it was just our own form of expression, we had no idea it would eventually grow into the "Beat Scene"  and now in turn,  people call it Lo Fi hip hop.. i just laugh. Its all good. I think there are tons of great producers out there making really interesting beats!! So Im happy to maybe have been a part of the birth of whatever the movement wants to call itself now. I think I am more in awe and influenced by the OG's than the new comers. To me everyone has one great record in them.. But to put out great music for years and years, thats a different story. That is what inspires and influences me the most. When i leave this earth, I want to leave behind a vast catalog of musical creations, regardless of if any of it was commercially successful or popular. Just like most of the records I admire most from 30-40 years ago. They were never hugely popular, but they were incredible!
DT: What is your creative process like? Do you start with the tool or from the imagination? Or both? Do you find yourself ever using traditional methods for making music or do you normally stick to the DAW? (which DAW/gear do you use?)
SK: My process really varies. Sometimes I start with a sample, other-times i just lay out a chord progression on the piano or a synth and build from there. I try to find new ways to tap into creativity so that im not bored. There is really no one single approach to making music. I use Ableton as my main DAW but I also use a ton of external instruments like synths, guitars, bass, drum machines, percussion instruments, vinyl samples.
DT: Fine Lines, your latest release from FoF Music is incredible. Did you have a specific aural goal with this album or did you just create and let the sound emerge naturally? Are you currently working on anything for the future or currently focusing more on support for your latest release? Anything exciting planned for 2019?
SK: With the 'Fine Lines' album I really wanted to create a cohesive album that embodied a specific vibe. How that vibe is perceived is up to the listener of course, but i sought out to make something that was indicative of my life during the making of these songs. In its most basic explanation its a story of growth, love, battling darkness both inner and outer and the never ending search for true happiness hahha. Yes I have a bunch of stuff slated for 2019. First off i just launched my label Tone and Manor. We just released our first compilation " All Over the Place" Vol. 1 and have Vol. 2 coming out in November.   The Tone and Manor label is a passion project of mine. I teach music production at Point Blank Music Academy and I mentor a lot of young producers and beginners and the label is a way for me to help some of them get their music out there into the often confusing music sphere. I also have a new album coming out in 2019.. Im really excited about that. For this one I am really going back to my roots. Analog synths, samples, instruments and in general a more organic vibe to the music. Its getting closed to finish and im really hyped to share it when its ready. The first single will likely come out early 2019.
DT: Do you find that switching your name brought any confusion? Do Sweatson Klank and TAKE focus on separate sounds or do they have a similar theme you aim for?
SK: Switching my name from Take to Sweatson Klank was purely for the reason that Take became increasingly impossible to find online, being that its a verb used in every other sentence. It was a bit hard at first to re-brand but im glad i did it. The sound has always been me. Its the evolution of me as an artist. If i was still TAKE the songs I've released as Sweatson Klank would be the same. It was really just a name change, not a style change. The intention hasn't changed.
DT: Please recommend something you're currently listening to, favorite place to get food in LA (are you an LA native), and a film or book if you have had time to indulge.
SK: Currently as i write this i am listening to a track from 1985 called 'Plastic Love' by a Japanese Female Soul artist named Mariya Takeuchi. The list of things i listen to could fill up 3 pages hahaha. Lets just say i listen to everything!!! I stay up on the latest hip hop, house, techno but I find more pleasure in digging through old records and discovery things from different times and countries!! Yes, I would say I am an LA native, I moved here from Paris, France when I was 5. Favorite place to eat really depends on the mood! Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo is definitely a regular in my rotation. Current read; The book of Joy by Douglas AbramsI just want thanks for taking the time to shine a light on me and my work, I hope your readers enjoy.

Fist of Festivity: A FoF Christmas story.
“Bells will be ringing… that sad sad news. Ooh what a Christmas, to have the blues..”
The song from the Eagles comes softly over the radio as numerous people sit around a Christmas tree, laughter all around. Outside the window of this small room falls a heavy snow, unknown to the city of Atlanta for some years now. Inside though, safe from the cold and sleet, a warmth of happiness of friends and family creates all the comfort they need. The room they find themselves in is not one too glamorous, but it can be seen that an effort at decorating was found. Garland was hung around the ceiling with golden tinsel laced within it. A tree that was decorated with homemade ornaments from the years of childhood and family memories that they have accrued. On it are numerous pictures of a smiling child, keepsakes of cities they have visited. In the kitchen, not too far away in this small apartment, a kettle is being warmed up for the hot chocolate.
The Laurens household was a jolly location.
Jade and Riley cuddle close together on the couch, home from college for the holidays. Each wore a gaudy Christmas sweater, bad enough to make even the most blind men reel. But they loved it. In the frenzy of college life, both women had taken an absence from detailed hair upkeep. While Riley had kept her half-shaved style, the usual colored accents she added to it were faded and nearly gone, the color returning to its usual black. Jade cannot be faulted for allowing her hair to grow a bit longer, seeing how she was never the one to have it cut. Her ginger hair has grown beyond its pixie style to a more side-swept and curly one. Although, it was still a tight cut. A memento she refuses to let go.
Underneath the blanket they hold hands and huddle close together, despite the heat turned up and the closeness the actual warmth is still to be desired. The small TV on the wall her mother had, turned to the news because of course it is, said that the snow fall wouldn’t stop until tomorrow morning. The roads were closed and buses and trains halted.
Jade’s mother returned from the kitchen with two hot mugs in her hand, giving them to Riley and Jade as she sat on the small stool next to her kitchen counter.
“I’m sorry about this, Riley. If I had known there’d be a storm i’d have gotten the cot out of the storage!” Riley gave a small chuckle. “Don’t worry Mrs. Laurens, its fine I assure you. My parents are totally understanding. I honestly could go out right now and make it back just fine.”
Jade lightly slapped Riley, making the type of face where one is only playfully mad. “No you will NOT. It is twenty degrees outside and iced roads everywhere! You will slip and fall and hurt yourself running.” Riley turned and gave Jade a sort of incredulous look. “I’ve run on ice before! As part of my training I run on all terrains! Even in the academy I ran on ice!”
“But it's christmas eveeeee” Jade replied with a big set of puppy dog eyes. Riley rolled her own before hugging her girlfriend.
“I wasn’t going to do it, just that I could.”
A small chuckle escaped Mrs.Laurens as she sipped on her own cup of hot chocolate. She was dressed very much like a mother on Christmas eve. A full blown gingerbread house style sweater, and red going on grey hair pulled up into a small bun behind her head with soft reading glasses on her nose. “I hope you know that you couldn’t leave this place anyways, Riley. I’d have to use my powers to stop you.”
Both women turned to look at Mrs.Laurens with a surprised look.
“Mom you have a quirk?!” Her mother gave a smiling, sagely nod.  Jade stood up fast, almost knocking over both hers and Riley’s drinks. “WHAT?!?! How have I never known until now?!”
“Oh you’ve seen it, believe me.” Riley stroked her chin like a monk, grinning. “I think I know what it is. You can control heat, cant you?” Mrs.Laurens sipped her mug again, before replying with a “Nope.”
Jade, now squatting on the couch, sneakily bends forward to whisper something into Riley’s ear. Riley then stands up. “Welllll, I suppose I should at least try and make it home. Gonna be a professional hero in the future can't let a little snow keep me down, know? So i’ll just be on my -”
Mrs.Laurens set her mug on the counter, slowly turned to face Riley and crossed her arms. Then she raised an eyebrow at her. “Really? You’re gonna leave?” Jade was confused, was she using her quirk now? She looked at Riley, and saw with surprise that she was hesitant in moving to the door. “Y-yeah. Just gonna head home, don't wanna take up any space here y'know?” Mrs.Laurens stood up and walked towards Riley, a good half a foot shorter. Looking up at Riley, she speaks again. “Really?” Mrs.Laurens drew the word out, lacing it with the most smug tone.
Riley bowed her head and spoke softly “......no…” And as she returned to the couch, Jade could only watch on with amazement. “How..how did you do that mom?!”
“Oh Jade, it's a special power that not even the most powerful heroes have. The power of a mother’s intuition and command.” The loudest groan escaped Jade as she threw herself backwards onto the couch, and subsequently on Riley. “Moooooom you corny nerd.” Mrs. Laurens giggled. Riley sighed and brought the blanket around her body to warm herself, when a thought occurred to her.
“Jade, why are we using a blanket to warm ourselves? And why are we stuck here due to ice? You literally control the sun.”
“Because I told her she’s not allowed to use powers on Christmas eve, that's reserved to Jesus and no one else.”
Jade gave an agreeing nod, but whispered to Riley just loud enough so that only the two of them could hear. “I also set the tree on fire last year, so we’re trying to avoid that.”
“Ah.”
Jade’s attention turned to the tree, mostly to the boxes underneath it. Riley had brought some presents home with her to give to Jade and her mom, so they too joined the rest under the tree. But the one that caught Jade’s attention was a nondescript white box with a simple blue bow atop it. It did not have the careful wrapping of her mom or herself, nor the chaotic tapping and ramshackle method of Riley. And just as she was about to ask her mom, she yawned.
“Well children, I think its time we should go to bed and all. Riley, I hope you don’t mind sharing a room with Jade. I’d have her sleep on the couch, but I don’t trust her to go poking through the gifts.”
Riley snickered as Jade’s face turned red. “Mom! I wouldn't! I'm a good kid now!” “Mhm sure hun. My, if you could hear the stories. One christmas eve, Victor caught her hiding in a hollowed out portion of the couch so she could wait for us to go to sleep. And another, this was when Joseph was over, she tried to bribe him in Santa’s own cookies to bring her a gift! And another-”
“MOM!” Jade’s face had achieved a color of red equal to her hair, as Riley was leaning against the wall covering her mouth to hide her grin. She loved how Jade looked when she was embarrassed, it was cute.
“Fine, I’ll stop. But I learned a few things from Joseph! So don’t go sneaking, I’ll find out.”
“I won’ttttt” Jade said like a child, dragging out the last word.
As the goodnights were spoken, each retreated into their rooms. Jade’s room had not changed much since she had left for college. Which was bad for the bed situation, as she and Riley would have to nearly be on top of eachother. Which Riley seemed to have guessed, given the salacious look on her face. “You better get off that face and attitude in the next five minutes. This is Christmas Eve at my mom’s house!” Jade spoke in a  quick and angry whisper, which only caused Riley to snort in laughter.
“I wasn’t thinking that! Well, now I am. Your fault really.”
A pillow entered terminal velocity and found it’s destination to be Riley’s face.
“Fiiiiine.”
As the two of them slipped under the covers and into each other’s arms, it was not long until they had visions of sugarplum fairies dancing in their head. Except Jade, who in the last few minutes of lucidity before falling asleep in the embrace of her girlfriend, thought of this : what is in that box?[i].
Christmas morning was freezing, and Jade’s mom was almost about to forgo her respect for Jesus to allow a bit of supernatural fire. However, the heater eventually sputtered to life and delivered a bearable atmosphere. Mrs.Laurens cooked a delicious breakfast, cranberry bread and pigs in a blanket. A small tradition in their household that Riley was strongly considering getting her parents to join in on. And of course, after the meal the real treasure awaited them.
Mrs.Laurens passed out each present to each, and a hearty amount was in each person’s pile. Riley got a mess of work-out shirts and shorts, headbands, and a small fortune in green tea kitkats (her favorite). Jade got art supplies, several t-shirts from bands and shows she liked, and a new laptop. Her mom mostly got knicknacks from Boston, but she loved them anyways.
After the initial fervor died and everyone got their gifts, Jade was looking around at her family. It was a happiness she hasn’t felt in a long while. The snow still fell outside the window, meaning that the weatherman was wrong again. Or, ironically, it means The Weatherman escaped prison and started causing a snowstorm. Still, inside the apartment it was warm and nice, the laughter of Riley and her mom exchanging stories about her aside. However, it was during all this taking in that Jade noticed the small box again. It must have been overlooked in the present handing out, and was pushed to behind the tree. Jade walked over to the tree and picked the box up, looking at it further. It fit within her one hand, and had no indication as to who it goes to.
But there was a tag on the blue bow. An initial of “JE”.
Jade’s mom noticed what she was looking at and stood up. “Oh my, I completely forgot.” her daughter turned to look at her. “That was left behind a few months ago for you. By Joseph.”
The box suddenly felt so much more heavier. Riley’s laughing expression left as she looked at Jade, replaced by a numb and shocked one. Jade’s was much the same. Her mom smiled. “Well? Go ahead. Open it!”
Jade gently removed the ribbon from around the box, and opened it. Inside was a note.
She picked it up, not paying attention to the other object within it.
”Hey there Solar Flare. See what I did? It was funny cuz it rhymed. Anyways, I don’t know if I’m going to be there to give this to you. I may not be a psychic, but I know my time is limited. Right now as I'm writing this, you are asleep in your room and your mom is still out at the hospital working. She’s the real hero, y’know? She saves more people than I ever have. And I think you will too. I found this the other day while packing my stuff, and I thought you might want it.
Give ‘em the heat of hell,
-Joseph Ellington, Reverse.
P.s. I’d slap my knees at the jokes I make around your house if I still had them.”
The signature where his name was became water stained as a single happy tear fell from Jade’s eye. She gently folded the note, and tucked it into her pocket before returning to the other contents of the box. Resting on the bottom of the box was a necklace of iron beads, and a small scrap of paper.
She lifted the necklace up, revealed them to be dogtags. At the end of them read, “Laurens SHS Agent : Reverse.” It became an instant addition to herself, as she put it on. The metal felt cold against her skin, but at the same time comforting. Like a hug from an old friend. And finally the paper. As she picked it up and unraveled it, she almost dropped it out of pure emotion.
Giving each other the biggest hug and holding a small baby was her dad and Reverse. Each in their costume, Reverse in his boxing get-up and her dad in his stark white and red glory. Between them was a small baby with red hair. On the backside of the photo was writing.
“first time meeting uncle J, he called her a great ball of fire!”
“Jade, honey? Are you alright?”
As she looked up , her eyes streaming and face beaming with happiness, she said
“Happier than ever before.”
And as she showed her mom the picture, and she joined in on the crying, followed by Riley who thought it was the right thing to do at the time, Jade heard a soft voice in her mind.
“Merry Christmas, kid.”

11) THE THINGS YOU SAID WHEN YOU WERE DRUNK - YOONMIN
Just let me Love You
**this is suuuper self-indulgent. forgive me. LOL
Tumblr media
“Ohmygod, hyung! Sorry, I’m late. Jongin hyung just… Wait, where is everybody?” Jimin asked belatedly, as he enetered the private dining Yoongi reserved for their group’s dinner.
Yoongi just replied with a chuckle, gulping down the shot of soju he had in his hands, not even looking at JImin. “Dispersed for various reasons.”
“I’m really sorry. I didn’t think the party would end this early. I mean, it’s only 2am,” Jimin said apologetically as he sat down on one of the pillows on the floor. “It’s just Taemin-hyung prepared a viewing party for Serendipity’s release and…”
“Ahhhh…” Yoongi cut him off. “I should’ve known other people would have the same idea.”
“You… This was for me?” Jimin asked, shock evident on his face.
Yoongi waved his arm to point towards a large projector screen set-up, taking another shot of soju right after.
“I… Hyung. I’m sorry. I didn’t…” Jimin said, moving a seat closer to Yoongi.
“Yeah… well. It wasn’t exactly your fault. I just thought it would be nice to have dinner and view your first solo MV together then watch the whole internet blow-up about it right after. I should’ve said something,” he let out another deep chuckle, still not looking at the younger man beside him. “Surpise!” Yoongi said, his tone coated with sarcasm, as he finally loooked at JImin.
“Hyung…”
“Don’t worry. It’s… It’s fine…” Yoongi said half-heartedly, pouring himself another shot.
“Where are the others though?” Jimin asked, worry and guilt making his forehead crease.
“Hoseok was called in at 1am, mixtape business,” Yoongi started, one finger of his hand went down as he mentioned Hoseok. Jimin figured he’d be counting down each member to make sure he didn’t leave anyone out. “Namjoon was supposed to follow at around 1:30 but Jin hyung called him and told him not to since Taetae and him were preparing to leave anyway to bring Kookie home. Kid got plastered too early,” Yoongi paused as he took another shot. “You should have seen him though, he was really proud of you, Chim.”
Yoongi laughed to himself, still looking away from Jimin. “Anyway, that leaves you and me.”
“Oh.”
“Jin hyung was trying to call you to tell you to just go home, but you weren’t picking up so…”
“No, I would’ve wanted to come anyway. I wouldn’t have seen what you prepared if-“
“Only reason I’m here is coz someone had to wait in case you showed up here, Chim,” Yoongi said flatly. “Anyway, congrats on your song. It’s trending, by the way. I’m not sure if you know since your phone is dead.”
“I… I saw while I was at Taemin-hyung’s,” Jimin said weakly. His hands fidgeting at the awkward air between them. He could feel the disappointment from Yoongi, but he didn’t know how to make things better. While Jimin thought about how to comfort his hyung, he watched the older pour one more shot.
“How much have you had to drink, hyung?” Jimin inquired.
“Don’t worry about me, kid. I’m just finishing this bottle then I’ll be leaving too. You don’t have to wait for me,” Yoongi said, still staring at the wall in front of him.
“No, I’ll…” Jimin decided to buzz fof the waiter instead of finishing what he had to say.
Yoongi finally looked at him, questioning. But Jimin just looked away, waiting for the waiter to enter.
“Three bottles of beer please,” Jimin ordered, as the waiter peeped in. The waiter just nodded and closed te door as soon as the order was made, locking in the dense air between Yoongi and Jimin once more.
“I’ll drink with you. Don’t rush,” Jimin said with a shy smile, hoping that that would at least lighten the mood.
Yoongi just pouted his lips and nodded, reaching for the seasoned chicken in front of him.
“So, what did you think of the video, hyung?” Jimin asked, fully facing Yoongi, hoping that his hyung would finally look at him.
“You really want to hear my opinion?” Yoongi asked.
“Of course, always,” Jimin answered sincerely.
“That’s new,” Yoongi answered, murmured to a point that Jimin didn’t even catch what he said.
“Huh?”
“Nothing. It’s… It was beautiful, Jiminie. Really,” Yoongi said with a sincere smile.
Finally, Jimin thought, a smile.
“Really?”
“Really.”
“Oh thank God! I was so nervous, hyung. Hobi hyung and Taetae went to the shoot location and I made them leave cause I felt more nervous with them there,” Jimin admitted, opening one of the bottles of beer that the waiter brought in.
Yoongi smiled back, he didn’t really feel like admitting that he was also on his way to the shoot to bring food but Hoseok told him to abort the mission.
“Good thing I didn’t go then,” Yoongi said, taking in a mouthful of chicken.
“I wouldn’t have minded you being there actually,” Jimin said, looking at the ground.
“You wouldn’t have?” Yoongi asked.
“Not so much. No,” Jimin answered back, taking a swig of his beer.
Yoongi just gave out another deep chuckle, as he downed another shot. “Sure.”
Yoongi was acting odd and Jimin was starting to think that it was beyond his disappoinment with the foiled surprise for him. No, Jimin decided, it was definitely something else.
The minutes passed with them just discussing the comeback preparations. Yoongi was still being distant, but Jimin resolved that he’d break Yoongi’s walls before they left the restaurant.
Yoongi’s soju was dwindling down to only a few shots and Jimin was on his second bottle when the older brought up Jimin’s song again.
“Namjoon made me listen to your track, you know? Even the rough guide sounded great. I guess Namjoon’s style really fits you more,” the elder stated, taking another shot right after.
“He did word it pretty well. I think it fit the emotion I described to him. In the end, I’m just glad it came out well and ARMYs really seem to like it,” Jimin answered with a bright smile, eyes disappearing as his cheeks raised.
“Joon-ah’s production style seems to fit you more. Perfect fit,” Yoongi stated, his words starting to sound a bit gargled.
Was this it? Jimin thought, is this what’s bothering him? Namjoon-hyung? Yoongi’s eyes seemed heavy with alcohol, in Jimin’s opinion.
“Once Hobi’s time gets freed up from his mixtape, maybe he can produce for you too. Maybe you’ll like that better too,” Yoongi’s head looked heavy to Jimin by this time too, observing the way his hyung slouched forward on his seat.
“Like it better than what, hyung?” Jimin asked, unsure whether he would get a proper answer from his hyung at this point.
“Than my work. You never liked my work. Never,” Yoongi slurred, looking at Jimin with an accusing tone.
“You know that’s not true, hyung,” Jimin answered quickly, his hand going to Yoongi’s thigh.
“Ha! You probably have a ‘Yoongi, Pabo’ folder on your computer,” Yoongi said, fingers poking at JImin’s chest. “Just a dump pile of all the songs I sent you that you didn’t like. Or maybe you send it directly to trash. I don’t know.”
Jimin’s eyes widen at the accusation, but he did not know how to respond to his hyung’s incredulous claim.
“And they’ve all been wonderin, you know? ARMY? Always asking. Always. Always asking, ‘have you given Jimin a song?’, ‘when will your collab happen?’, ‘who do you want to make a song for?’. Ha! Like it’s my fault? Oh if they only knew, Park Jimin,” Yoongi said, shaking his head as he took another shot.
“Hyung, I think you should stop,” Jimin said, as he held Yoongi’s hand.
“Shut it, Park! Like you care,” Yoongi snapped back.
Jimin withdrew his hand from his hyung. Everything he was saying was hurting Jimin, more because Jimin didn’t know that this was what his hyung was feeling.
“I care, hyung!” Jimin finally retorted.
“Tssss… sure, sure you do. Bangtan’s angel. Tsss,” Yoongi hissed.
“Hyung…” was all Jimin could say.
“And the one time, the one time we collab, you go to Namjoon to FIX it? FUCKIN FIX IT?! and tell him I forced you? I? FORCED YOU? Fuck, Park. I didn’t know you hated me that much.”
Jimin didn’t know what to do, but he felt like his hyung has been holding this in for so long. That he had no right to stop his rant but just let it take its course for him to get it out of his chest.
“You didn’t even like So Far Away. The guide sounded perfect with your voice, but you still passed it on. Shit! I don’t know what I have to do to win you over, Park Jimin,” Yoongi said almost to himself, as he covered his face with his palms.
The tears were harder to control for Jimin now. He wanted to answer back, to explain himself but he felt like none of it would matter at this point.
“What happened to us, Jiminie? We used to be so close. Everyone saw it. We couldn’t hide it. Then one day you just decided to cut me off. And… it has been so long… since… I…” Yoongi’s voice was starting to break. Jimin watched as his hyung closed his eyes to stop tears from falling.
“You have Hoseokie hyung. He makes you laugh more than I do,” Jimin offered.
“Not the same,” Yoongi answered back flatly. “You don’t even come to my studio. The last time was when I called you in when we were in the old building. Do you even know what it looks like now?”
“Kookie hangs out in your studio to keep you company though, hyung,” Jimin pointed out.
“Kookie is another matter. Jungkook, Hoseok, Jin, everyone. I love them too. But you used to be… we… we used to be special,” Yoongi’s eyes were bloodshot, Jimin noticed. The younger was starting to doubt that the older man would remember any part of this whole tirade in the morning.
“You’re always at Namjoon’s! You don’t bring me sandwiches like before.”
“Kookie brings them,” Jimin answered back. I make him bring you food all the time, he thought.
“You don’t check up on me on whether or not I’ll be home.”
“Jin hyung calls you when it’s late,” cause I ask him to check, Jimin wanted to add.
“When did it stop, Jiminie?” Yoongi’s voice sounded like he was pleading for an answer.
“When did what stop, hyung?”
“When did you stop caring about me?”
“Hyung, I thought you understood. I thought you knew. You said you knew,” Jimin responded, weakly but defensively.
“I knew? I knew what? If I knew anything would I be asking?” Yoongi’s voice was getting louder with frustration and Jimin watched as his hyung curled up into himself. His shoulders shaking as he sobbed.
“Hyung?” Jimin tried, as he moved closer to the older man, slowly placing his arm over the other’s shoulders to bring him closer to his body.
Yoongi placed his head on Jimin’s chest, body still shaking.
“Hyung, I… I really thought you understood. I didn’t know you felt this way. I was hoping you’d just understand that the distance, the space, it was never because I stopped caring, hyung. Never was it about that. I… just…”
“You didn’t even come to my video shoot,” Yoongi sighed out between sobs.
“You wanted me there?” Jimin asked, as he continued caressing Yoongi’s shoulders to calm him.
Yoongi just nodded. “I missed you,” he whispered, burrying his face deeper into Jimin’s chest.
Jimin has never seen Yoongi like this, broken down and fragile about him. He has seen him cry in the past, that is true. He has also seen him get wasted drunk before. But this Yoongi clinging onto him was different, more vulnerable. The oddest part was the fact that the break down his hyung was having was seemingly caused by him.
He felt Yoongi calm down, his body stilling, head drooping lower towards Jimin’s lap. Jimin shifted a bit, letting his hyung lie on his lap instead.
“Hyung?” Jimin asked, shaking his hyung lightly to check if he was still conscious. Yoongi didn’t answer back, his breathing evened out.
Jimin took this to mean that the older man finally passed out.
“I missed you too, hyung. You have no idea how hard it has been,” Jimin started, thinking that this might be his only chance to confess without worrying about the repercussions that tomorrow might bring.
“I wanted to keep visiting you in your studio. I wanted to sing all your songs. I wanted to stay by your side. But it’s hard, hyung,” Jimin started stroking Yoongi’s hair with his left hand, wiping the tears that fell form his eyes with his right.
“They saw through us from the start. The tweets in the wee hours of the morning. That damn white bear was a dead give away. I was so stupid! They saw the way we touched each other when we were back stage. Even the way we exchanged glances,” the younger continued.
“They paired us together, everyone watching. I know that they do it with all the members, but it was harder with you, hyung. At that time, I was afraid that you didn’t feel the same way. Or worse, what if you did. What then?”
“You said you knew. I thought you understood. You were always special to me, hyung. But no one can know. Only we can know and I thought you knew,” Jimin was sniffling at this point, but for some reason he felt like he had to continue with his monologue.
“Namjoon asked me if I have ever felt love. I told him I wasn’t sure, but I tried to explain how I think love felt. And no matter how hard I tried to think of anyone else, I just kept thinking about you.”
“I told him how love made me feel safe, how I felt like the person I love cure me of all the pain that even I sometimes bring to myself. The one I love was my pill, hyung. How in spite of myself, I feel like I keep getting pulled back to that person. Like a lost pet to his owner. How I feel in bloom everytime that person comes near me, everytime that person touches me. How I believe that me meeting the one I love was no coincidence, it was fate, hyung,” Jimin felt his tears stream down his cheeks, half wishing that Yoongi could hear him now, half scared that he might be hearing him.
“And I thought you knew, hyung. I thought you knew that you were that person. Cause I felt your love everywhere we were. I knew and I thought you knew too,” Jimin breathed in deeply as he let out his confession.
“Then Namjoon hyung asked me what was stopping me from admitting that I loved the person I love. And I just told him that I feel like that person wouldn’t let me. Even the world that brought us together wouldn’t let me,” Jimin started sobbing, his hand now holding on to Yoongi’s shoulder.
The room fell silent save for Jimin trying to conrol his breathing as he started to calm down. His hands still running through Yoongi’s hair.
“Hyung?” Jimin tried again, no response, so he started singing his final confession.
“Just let me love you. Just let me love you,” then Jimin bent down and kissed his hyung’s hair. Resting his damp cheeks on Yoongi’s head.
Jimin felt the man on his lap stir slightly and he panicked, making Jimin sit back properly.
Yoongi cleared his throat but made no movement. “Jimin?” he asked.

8. Untitled - Eddie Vedder
Tumblr media
Status: Unedited
Friday evening came very quickly. It was neering seven pm, and you were beginning to put your jacket on when there was an abrupt knock at the door. You quickly shrugged it on, and swiftly opened the door to greet whoever had come to pick you up. Jeff never clearly stated who it would be, but you didn't think it would be Eddie. But whatever, you were glad it was him.
"Hey you." You smiled. "Just let me grab my purse." that sounded really girly coming out of your mouth, but it really wasn't at all. Just a small black bag you threw over shoulder to carry your wallet, keys and smokes, and what not. He nodded.
“Don’t worry, no rush. We’re not on till 8.” He reassured.
"Who's car did you take?" You asked out of curiosity, since you knew he didn't have one yet.
"Well we already got our shit at the venue, the guys are there already. Jeff just shot me the keys to the truck." He lifted his hand to show he held the familiar keys to the truck.
"Oh, alright, nice." You made your way back over to Eddie, before speaking once again.
"Are you excited?!" You shut the door behind the both of you, locking it.
"A little nervous actually. We wrote a few other new ones and theres this one...uh, i dont really know them by heart so I gotta use my lyric sheets." He said sheepishly, slugging his shoulders.
"Aw it's okay, Ed.  I'm sure you'll be fine. I know you'll do great." You patted his shoulder. He looked down at you and smiled.
"Thanks."
You two made your way to the truck and drove to the venue, making idle conversation. You could tell he was nervous and you wondered if this is what he looked like before the first show. Your mind fled back to the night you met him, when he was with Stone and Matt. He did seem a bit off...maybe that’s why. Poor guy.
"So how has Stone been? Better, I hope." It was a nice night, so you had the window rolled down a bit as he drove (kind of slow) down the Seattle streets. You didn't know why he was driving so slow though. You just brushed it off, he was probably just being safe and shit.
"Yeah, I think so. I mean...I don't really know what normal Stone is."
"Right, sorry. Uhm, less of an asshat then? Jeff told me he was being pretty bitchy the past few days." You kept forgetting he hadn’t been here for very long.
"Well yeah, I suppose he has, now that I think of it." He spoke after thinking to himself for a few moments.
"Hey, how long have you been here for now anyway?" You turned to look at him from your seat.
"It will be 2 weeks tomorrow, actually." You nodded your head and the rest of the way was silent. The radio was softly playing Bowie in the background whenever he pulled in the parking lot of the venue. You could faintly hear the loud rock music coming from the club. You wondered who else would be playing tonight.
The two of you walked side by side and made your way through the entrance. Looking around, you tried to spot anyone familiar, but after a few seconds of searching, Eddie's voice flooded your ears.
"I think most of the guys are in the back." He nodded his head toward the door that led backstage, hands in the pockets of his black leather jacket. You could feel the warmth of his breath tickle the side of your face, and your cheeks flushed a light pink.
"Oh, alright. Should we grab a drink first?" You suggested, you needed one after this week, for sure.
Ed nodded his head and you both made your way to the bar to grab a beer.
"So who else is playing tonight?" As of right now, there was no one up there, just the big speakers playing some punk rock songs.
"The Alice guys." He confirmed. Cool, this was going to be a good show.
Once you had your beers, you made your ways toward backstage. Once the two of you had arrived, you were greeted by a chorus of many different voices.
"Hi everyone." You smiled and waved, and Layne came up to you first. Most people went back to their conversations, and Ed was stolen away by Jeff fof something.
"How are you, Dani?" He hugged you gently, patting your back.
"Always good, you buddy?"
"Same old, same old." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Who's up first? Alice or Mookie?"
"Mookie." He smiled, and you nodded smilling back.
"Cool."
Looking around for a moment you spot Stone talking to Jerry and Sean when he caught you looking at him. He gave you a small grin and a light wave. You kindly gestured the same in return, glad things were back to normal.
"So...You and Eddie huh." Layne gave you a knowing smile. You gasped and punched his arm.
"What do you mean? Where the hell do you guys come up with this shit, goddamn." You shook your head, his laughter filling your ears.
"Hey, what're you two boneheads laughing at?" Mike Inez came up, smacking you and Layne on the back. You took another sip of your beer and rolled your eyes.
"Nothing, lame ass." You tried to get away from the topic that was Eddie, but sadly, it just never seemed to work for you.
"We were just talking bout Eddie." Layne shrugged his shoulders innocently. Mike raised his eyebrows up and down.
"Ooh, la la." He grinned and pinched your cheek lightly, while you tried swatting his hand away.
"Oh, shut up you guys. There’s nothing going on between Eddie and I." You assured them, and right as you said so, Jeff showed up out of butt fuck nowhere.
"For now." He grinned innocently. You were about to speak when he beat you to it. "Mookie guys are on in a half hour! He shouted, making sure they heard him, before quickly walking away to the food table. You just rolled your eyes and silently escaped the small forming group to sit down.
The backstage wasn't very big, but it wasn't too crowded with all of you in there either. There were two couches and a couple of chairs, and the table along the wall was filled with snacks and sodas. There was a fridge on the left side that had beer, and you drew a sigh of relief. At least you wouldn't have to go back out front to the bar for your next one.
You took a seat on one of the couches and talked to Sean, Jerry and Stone for a few a bit until it was time for the guys to get up there.
You bid them all good luck, as they made their way to the stage. You quickly grabbed another beer and walked over to the side of the stage. The curtain was pulled to the side, so you had a perfect side view of the guys. You knew this was going to be a good show.
You could tell Eddie was nervous, and much like the first show, his eyes were glued to the ground. They played through a few songs, when things seemed to switch in him. And suddenly, his eyes weren't glued to the ground anymore, they were looking at you. You smiled wide and gave him a thumbs up, to which he replied with a fucking wink that almost made your knees buckle. His presence on stage grew, and you were completely mesmerized by him.
They played a beautiful show, and there were a couple of new songs, to which he indeed was referring to a music sheet which lay on the stage floor in front of him. Brother had a real catchy guitar rift, so did Breath, and for some reason you felt you could listen to Eddie sing all day...But soon it all had to come to an end. Unfortunately. The Alice guys were all standing by your side the whole show, giving the boys some good support. You could tell they were happy for Stone and Jeff, things were slowly coming back together for them. The crowd cheered, and you knew they loved them.
The five sweaty guys came running off stage, but not before introducing Alice in Chains and before you knew it they were up there giving it their all. You loved Alice music, and you hadn't seen them play in a long while so you were going to enjoy it.
You congratulated your boys on their awesome show, and they thanked you, with sweaty hugs from Jeff and Stone. You pushed them off, yelping out insults at them about how gross they were. Jeff just rustled your hair and left to go outside with the rest of the guys to get a few minutes of cool air. They would probably have a smoke too. You turned away and made your way back toward the side stage as you felt a sweaty hand touch your shoulder. You turned around to be greeted with a smile that could cure fucking cancer, you had seen his dimples up close before but you chose this moment to study even more, and you took notice in the tiny crinkles under his eyes when the smile reached its peak. It made your stomach flutter so much it felt like you were gonna puke for a second.
All the while you were probably staring very moronic at him right now, you seemed to be doing that more often than you would care to admit. Fuck sake.
"You alright?" His smile was slowly starting to fade into a look of confusion, but before it could fully be, you grabbed his arm gently.
"Yeah, sorry just uh-"he looked at you expectantly, nodding his head for you to continue, "was just thinking about uh-" you stuttered, your brain was still on his fucking dimples and you weren't thinking straight, "I was checking out your dimples." Fuck it, you replied honestly. To make it less awkward, you made it look like a sarcastic joke when you reached over and pinched the taunting fuckers lightly between your fingers. Eddie laughed.
"Oh, were you?" He asked teasingly, and you nodded, laughing and bringing your hand back down to your side. Ed looked down at his shoes and back up at you, his cheeks a light shade of pink, most likely from the pinching.
"So whats up, Ed?" you decided to let him speak so you could stop making and idiot out of yourself.
"I just wanted to- uh" this time, it was him stuttering, though you didn't know why. "just coming to watch the Alice guys.”
Oh, okay.
"Okay, uhm-come on, we'll watch together." You smiled gesturing he come and follow you and he complied. You watched their show and soon the rest of the guys filed in as well, all of them standing with you now.
You loved the music you were hearing, you just couldn't say that enough. They were a group of very talented dudes. They flew through the rest of their set list and finished way too quickly for my liking. Once they came off stage it was their turn to get some fresh air outside.
You were halfway done your third beer by now, talking with Eddie and McCready about whatever. Glancing at the clock it read 9:18 PM, damn that flew by. At some point, Mike got up to grab another beer or something, and it was just Eddie. He sat quiet, as he twiddle his thumbs nervously. You were about to say something when he straightened up, averting his eyes to yours.
After a few more seconds of silence, you rose your brow in question, and he finally opened his mouth to speak.
"Are you uh-" he tore his eyes away for just a moment, struggling to spit out the rest of the sentence, before looking back into your crystal blue ones. "do you have any uh- plans tomorrow?" You chuckled at how many times he said 'uh' in that sentence. You hoped he didn't take that the wrong way, as he held a sheepish look upon his face. You were confused, why would he ask you that?
"Uh, none that I know of," you laughed softly, "just gotta work in the morning. Why, whats up?"
"Oh okay, I was uhm...wondering if you would like to hangout. With me." oh my god. "Maybe, just us two? If that’s not weird. I-" He sighed, not continuing his sentence before putting his face in his hands. "Fuck, I'm sorry. I've just been thinking and- my god this must sound really bad I just..." He struggled. You wanted to do something to make him calm down, but were speechless because you were confused at why he was acting so upset. So you stayed quiet, and decided to just give him a moment to pull his thoughts together.
"Me asking you that must make me look like a total fucking douchebag." He shook his head. What? Why would he think that?
"Ed, what are you saying? I'm sorry, I don't really understand..." You apologized, wishing in this moment you weren't so stupid.
"No no no, its not you please don’t apologize. Its just...Well, if I were you in your shoes, and you were in mine, if you were to ask me that I would think you just want to hang as a rebound or something..." He spoke truthfully. Now, you were beginning to understand. In the moment you were trying to keep a serious face when all you wanted to do was jump around with excitement over the fact that he actually wanted to hangout with you, alone.
Yes, you hung out alone before, but that was probably him just trying to be nice cause you let him crash on your couch. You played it cool.
"Hey, you don't have to worry. I definitely don't think that of you, first of all." You grabbed his hands, which held his face, and gently placed them on his lap. When you were about to pull away, he laced his fingers with yours, and you locked eyes. You knew it wasn't like that, and he really didn't need to explain it. "I should be off work around 2, swing by sometime after that? We could figure something out." You smiled, not looking away from him. He smiled sheepishly in return. God, he was cute.
“Okay." He decided it was probably best to be short, and you couldn't help but let out a small giggle.
"Well well well, what do we have here." The smooth voice of Mr. Jeff fucking Ament woke you from your euphoric moment with Eddie, and you realised now how it must look to them. You quickly withdrew your hands at the same time as Ed did, and you spoke first.
"Fuck off, you two. What, you's are fucking stalkers now?" You stood up and nonchalantly flipped Jeff's pink hat off his head, and it fell to the floor. His reflexes were getting rusty.
"Hey!" He swatted his arm aimlessly at you, obviously missing as he went down to pick up his hat. Layne and Eddie were laughing as you walked over to grab yourself another beer.
The night led on, and you all had a great tine. You all talked and drank, like you normally did, but it would never get old to you. You loved these guys and you wouldn’t give up nights like these for anything.
Time went by quickly, and before you knew it everyone was getting their shit together to head out. You bid your farewells to the Alice guys and you made your way over to the truck. Dave had taken his car here, so him and Mike went their ways as they lived the opposite way of the rest of us. You waved goodbye, and the guys stated they would plan studio dates tomorrow.
As you were about to open the trucks door, a hand had already beat you to it. Eddie stood, sliding the door open with ease, and you blushed.
“Thanks Eddie.”
“You’re welcome.” He winked, and slid the door closed once you were fully seated. You sighed.
Eddie Vedder would be the fucking death of you.

What happened in Room 308: Part I
- It turns out Six was being only half-honest about Sam bugging the cam: Sam didn’t remove the footage, he stored them in his laptop for blackmail purposes on Six’s orders. The footage contains stuff like…
- Alcohol consumption and drinking games: all five of them (Six and Isabela especially) drink-the originals did it in FoF and Isabela has a favourite bar, why not?! And they have a drinking game where they each discuss old combat or escape stories and have a set of rules to follow (I. e. Take a sip whenever Six fries someone/something with lightning)
- Truth Or Dare: they play the version where you take one piece of clothing off to pass a round. What ensues is several hours of hilarity….like Isabela actually stripping naked because she skipped all of the rounds until that point, Ran daring her to show her scarred post-fire face and starting a Legacy fight between the two of them, Taylor trying to get them to stop but having to do so without telekinesis because that was what Marina dared her to do, Six ROFLing at the situation, Six daring Marina to flash the camera with no underwear and Marina taking her top off to pass, Ran daring Six to record and upload a rant about why John is secretly evil, etc.
- Ask 6 & 7 Anything: the female half of the Fugitive Six ask all kinds of things….including stuff like alien biology and physiology. Isabela asked, since Loric lifespans extend for centuries, if they would look hundreds of years old eventually. And got slammed into the ceiling for asking that.
Talking about male members of their teams: Taylor asks about John’s backstory and the two originals explain why he’s as moody as he is (and Marina is comparing herself to him in her mind, and Ran picks up on this). Then Isabela talks about Kopano and his Legacy of being able to alter his density, which Six becomes jealous of. She then explains to Taylor, Ran and Isabela about the stupid shit their professor used to get into, and Taylor finds it hilarious. When Five gets mentioned Marina loses control and nearly freezes everyone to death.
- effigies: After the above event, Marina happens to find the realistic ballistic-gel dummies used for training. She sneaks one that looks like Five to Room 308, sets it up in the bathtub, and makes it more realistic with her art skills. She gouges an eye out with an icicle, injects red dye into hollow cavities in the gel so it would look like blood splattering, colours the dummy up in skin tones, puts some clothes on it…and trains with the replica Number Five, making a realistic illusion that she’s actually killing Five despite it being a dummy due to the fake blood. When Six sees this she asks if she can also have a dummy like that. Then Taylor requests that a third dummy, that looks like Einar, be made so she can get some form of revenge. Eventually they have all kinds of dummies that look like people they hate and/or want to fight/kill.

hey so! @iamg1004 asked me about Danganronpa -what it is, any warnings, how long it is, how to get into it, etc etc- so here’s a very long answer under the cut
WHAT IS IT?
“ Danganronpa is a series of "high-speed mystery action adventure" visual novels created by Kazutaka Kodaka, and released by Spike (Now Spike Chunsoft) for the PSP, PS Vita and Steam. The games combine mystery-solving with elements of shooting and even rhythm gameplay.” -TVtropes
basically, the “main” danganronpa games (there’s 3 of them, i’ll get into the other stuff afterwards) are murder-mystery visual novels (i.e. videogames that are much heavier on dialog than gameplay) the premise is that there’s this academy: Hope’s Peak Academy/Kibougamine (the thing is that the game had fan translations before the official translations, so fans use different terms for stuff hah) that recruits high school students that are the best at one specific field. (the official translation is “ultimate”, but a lot of people, myself included, use SHSL, for the literal translation of Super High School Level). the SHSL Swimmer, the SHSL Programmer, etc etc (some of the titles are pretty... out there, but you gotta keep things interesting, i guess). the newest batch of Hope’s Peak students get trapped in the apparently deserted academy (~~plot~~), and are told that they’ll only be freed if they murder one of their classmates, and if they’re not caught. that is, after a murder happens, there’s a Class Trial (the most interactive aspect of the game- this is the part that is fully voice-acted), where you attempt to figure out who did it. at the end of a trial, people vote for a culprit, and the rules are: if the culprit gets the most votes, he/she gets executed. if people vote wrong, however, everyone except for the culprit will be executed, and the culprit will be allowed to leave freely. (i think the official translation of culprit is “blackened”, bc it’s a translation of a Japanese pun. idk). and of course there’s the mystery of solving who put them all in this situation
so! those are the premises of the main 3 games: Dangan Ronpa, Super Dangan Ronpa 2 (officially translated as danganronpa 2, but a lot of us still call it SDR2 after the original title), and New Dangan Ronpa V3. however (other than a ton of light novels, none of which i’ve read) there’s two other noteworthy things: Danganronpa: Another Episode (Absolute Despair Girls) (a videogame) and Danganronpa 3: The end of Hope’s Peak Academy (an anime). i guess DR:AE and DR3 are not necessary to understand NDRV3 (don’t take my word for it, though, i’m still only at chapter 2 of NDRV3). so there’s two choices:
Danganronpa > Danganronpa 2 > New Danganronpa V3 or:
Danganronpa > Danganronpa 2 > Danganronpa: Another Episode > Danganronpa 3 > New Danganronpa V3
Danganronpa: Another Episode is a videogame, but instead of a murder-mystery visual novel it’s kinda like... a shooter? starring the sister of the first game’s protagonist. so, if you want to understand the story, i guess you could find a Let’s Play, skip the gameplay and just watch the cutscenes :P (there’s plenty)
Danganronpa 3 is an anime with two parts: Side Future (mirai-hen) and Side Despair (zetsubou-hen). the order is like. Future Ep 1 > Despair Ep 1 > Future Ep 2 > Despair Ep 2, etc etc. and then one Side Hope at the end i think
basically, DR:AE fills in the gap between Danganronpa 1 and Danganronpa 2, while Danganronpa 3 tells you a little of what happened before both games (Side Despair) and after both games (Side Future). it also features a little of DR:AE’s characters. so i guess they’re only required watching if you become really attached to the DR1 and DR2 cast and wanna know what happened to them! :p
oh, one last thing: DR1 has an anime adaptation, but it’s generally agreed to be bad (you can’t satisfactorily cram 6 mysteries into 13 episodes...). if you wanna watch it, watch it afterwards, don’t spoil the game for yourself
ANY WARNING?
oomph, yeah. it’s very heavy on fanservice (the 1st game, not so much), especially at the expense of female characters. i personally shrug it off easily (it bothers me, but it’s not a dealbreaker), but it’s worth mentioning (also bad shit happens but that goes without saying, it’s a murder mystery). DR:AE, however, very heavily deals with child sexual abuse/sexualization as a main theme, and DR:AE became very divisive because a lot of people thought it was treated so flippantly that it crossed the line into uncomfortable “fanservice” sometimes. (i’m personally in the camp of “they seem to be criticizing it, but jfc do i have to put some big doses of good faith into it”). it also deals with child abuse in general. umm... some other minor stuff: at some point there’s a character that people can feel is a parody of people with Dissociative Identity Disorder. there’s also a character that caused a lot of heavy arguing about their gender, but that’s more of a fandom thing. oh, also this isn’t really a warning, but so it doesn’t catch you by surprise: the blood is hot pink, apparently because the age rating in Japan is lower if the blood isn’t red. shrugs
IS IT TIME CONSUMING
eehh.... well, i guess that depends on how much time you have on your hands. each of the main games has 6 chapters, and let’s say each of them is 5 hours long. that’s about 30 hours for danganronpa (ofc it varies on how completionist you are), another 30 for danganronpa 2, another 30 for new danganronpa v3. let’s say 20 hours for Another Episode (though a good chunk of it is shooter gameplay). and Danganronpa 3 is 24/25? anime episodes, which are 25 minutes each or so. so, there’s certainly quite a lot of it, but i wouldn’t call it, say, homestuck levels of daunting
IS IT GOOD
well that’s just personal opinion isn’t it :p of course, i personally do like them, but i understand they’re not for everyone. i think danganronpa is very good at creating interesting characters but often falls short in developing them, which, i guess at least is fitting for the story since 70% of the cast gets killed off in the span of a few days. but there’s a lot of meat there if you enjoy fan content and analysis, that’s for sure
RESOURCES
as i said, danganronpa is a series of videogames BUT i personally haven’t played em! and actually... every friend i know that is into danganronpa got into it through let’s plays instead of playing it themselves. that’s the benefit of a visual novel, i guess, that watching it is very close to playing it. the only real change is that if you play you get to solve the mysteries yourself i guess, but you can still do that with videos if you wanna :p so, if you wanna get into it through playing, then all i can say is “buy it”, but if you wanna get into it through LPs like the rest of us heathens, I’M YOUR WOMAN (these are all silent LPs, if you’re the kinda person who enjoys commentary, shrugs. i think NicoB is the most popular danganronpa Let’s Player, but I found him kind of annoying haha. nothing against him, he’s just not my style)
Danganronpa 1
Fan translation: English subs, Japanese Audio (this patch is how most people got into it before the official translation, hah)
NISAmerica’s translation: English subs, Japanese Audio (for some reason this person put the profiles of the characters at the beginning of the first video, shrugs. skip to 4 minutes in if you wanna)
NISAmerica’s translation: English subs, English Audio
another one with the official translation and Japanese voice acting. i think this one might be better than the 2nd link
1. at the end of the day, it’s up to you whether you prefer the japanese or the english voice actors
2. an important thing! Danganronpa games have free time events, which basically means “spending time with a character”. each let’s player chooses different characters to have FTEs with, but of course there’s compilations fof each character.
Free Time Events (English dub)
Free Time Events (Fan Translation, Japanese dubs)
3. there’s also the bonus mode School Mode, which is kind of... a dating sim, really. for after you beat the game and whatnot. i’ve never been into most of them, but i guess they’re useful if there’s a character you really like and you want to see more dialog with them, so here’s a compilation of some School Mode stuff
(Super) Danganronpa 2
MY FAVORITE ONE (unless NVDR3 takes the throne). same gist, except that, unlike with DR1, the official translation came out before there was any solid fan-translated patch. but there’s still the dub choice. also, Island Mode instead of school mode
NISAmerica’s translation (English subs, Japanese audio)
NISAmerica’s translation (English subs, English audio)
i think the English voice actors are very good, but i can’t help but feel kinda bitter about it, since my favorite danganronpa character had a great voice that p much made up half of his characterization, and his english voice acting pretty much gives off the opposite characterization. but don’t listen to my bias X)
NISAmerica’s translation of Free Time Events
Playlist of a ton of Island Mode stuff
Another Episode: Absolute Despair Girls
again, this is partly a third person shooter so there’s scenes you can probably skip
NISAmerica’s translation (Japanese Audio)
NISAmerica’s translation (English Audio) this is the best video i could find and instead of splitting it into parts this person went ahead and did a 11-hours-long video jesus christ. there’s timestamps in the comments
Danganronpa 3
it’s an anime translated by Crunchyroll, you can find it from a free source with some googling like you’d find any other anime, i don’t want the FBI to find me :p again, remember, Mirai-hen episode 1 > Zetsubou-hen episode 1 > Mirai-hen episode 2, etc etc. and then “kibou-hen” (or “side hope”) as an epilogue
New Danganronpa V3
okay, here’s the thing: this game came out about a month ago, and it’ll be translated by NISAmerica in September 20-something. any fan translation of the game is still ongoing. i mean... if you start getting into danganronpa now, by the time you’ve gotten into ndrv3, either the NISAmerica translation will be very close, or fan translations will be very advanced, so i wouldn’t worry about it just yet. but just in case, the two best i’ve found
Jess is bilingual, living in Japan, and she translates everything very good and very fast as she plays. She’s the one I’m currently watching (also i have fun using twitch instead of youtube and watching the chat’s reactions :P)
For a silent, subbed-instead-of-spoken translation, this person’s- but I don’t personally watch it, so I can’t tell you whether the translation is as good as Jess’s
AND THAT’S IT, i’ll edit this afterwards if there’s something i remember. thaaank you for your interest, and if at some point you need the feel to scream at someone about danganronpa, by all means you’re welcome into my inbox. i love people’s reactions
OH OF COURSE, to block spoilers. #dr spoilers for the first game, #sdr2 spoilers for the second one, #drae spoilers for DR:AE, #dr3 spoilers for the DR3 anime, #ndrv3 spoilers for the newest game. if you wanna avoid spoilers, blacklist those!

if i ever actually did start a story with fof it would probably focus around greenskull and how much of an annoying frick up he is because that’s his whole purpose he’s just. a lame dude and nobody likes him except keith and when keith is finally like THIS GUY IS WITH ME DONT U DARE INSULT HIM everyone just has to frickin deal with him because they’re all too afraid to throw the nightmare/good dream balance out of wack since keith could easily do that and probably wouldnt hesitate to Mess Stuff Up to protect greenskull
i considered making it focus around ren but ren actually has a purpose with his whole crew even though he’s part of the extras that fade between nightmare and non-nightmare. greenskull on the other hand has no purpose he just kind of Exists, which is why the story would be best to center around him since everyone else already has something that they contribute to

Fast Food Sandwiches - 3/27/20
Tumblr media
They finally got to me! They got me to submit to the madness and made me think I would be sitting out this Friday on the sidelines. However, as Jeff Goldblum famously says in Jurassic Park, “life finds a way”. And so too did I find an interesting way to fill the fish fry void with a fun little adventure in a few block radius.
After several attempts to call three different restaurants all hope seemed like it was lost. Two restaurants never picked up the phone and the third was already out of fish. And after a long day of working from home, I was ready to call it quits and crack open a can of tuna for dinner. However, years of binging YouTube daily content inspired us with a great idea. Why not try a few fast food fish sandwiches and compare them? And so that is what we did... ENJOY!!
Arby’s - $3
Judging by the advertisements, the fish sandwiches at Arby’s are somewhat newer and so, this was a dish I was eager to try. There was 3 options to choose from; the Fish and Cheddar, Crispy Fish and King’s Hawaiian Deluxe. I opted for the “2 for $6” deal and got the first 2 choices. Although, the King’s Hawaiian did look delicious, it seemed like a “premium” menu item, only available with a meal, but something I will definitely return to try. I definitely want to try this one out because the Fish and Cheddar and Crispy Fish seem to be the same exact thing, except one comes with cheese, which will be the one I am reviewing.
As for the sandwich, overall it was actually really good. The fish tasted like an actual cut of fish, not a mess of mush that you may come to expect when getting fish from a fast food place. The fish was crisp, but you can tell that it may have been sitting for a minute. The line at Arby’s was quite long, and so it seemed everyone had the same idea as us. This probably lead them to start pre-making these to speed up the process. Either way it was good, and I know if I got it on any other day when they were not slammed it would probably be even better. What I also would like to add is my take on the cheddar. It is not a slice of cheese, so much as it is a melty sauce of cheddar. Really good during the first few bites, but after awhile it is kind of overpowering and the texture kind of sticks to your mouth. I would recommend trying it, but I can say I definitely prefer the option without cheese. Oh... and one other thing about this sandwich, why the sesame seed bun? I feel like using the same buns as all your other menu items kind of discredits your sandwich here. It makes it seem like it was just “thrown” on the menu, to me at least.
McDonald’s - $4.59
Honestly, who has not had the Filet-o-Fish from McDonald’s? If you eat fish, chances are that you have had this classic at least once before. The Filet-o-Fish is an absolute classic. So simple with its 4 ingredients; tartar, American cheese, buns and of course, Fish!
The sandwich came out nice and hot, buns super shiny, resembling a not quite brioche bun, cheese half off the sandwich, but is it really an authentic Filet-o-Fish if the cheese is fully on the bun? It had been years since I have had this sandwich and I can say I kind of missed it. I can honestly say I think this was actually better than the Arby’s, but I guess it is hard to beat that “classic” taste. The cheese was just a little bit better, the buns were in a different league compared to the flattened sesame seed mess from Arby’s. The Filet-o-Fish just melts in your mouth and is a good way to get your Lenten fix in a pinch. I will say, my one hang up with this sandwich is the price. It costs $4.59 just for the sandwich, which does not seem so outrageous considering most of their sandwiches are that price, but when you look at the short list of ingredients, you definitely expect less. Also, if I am not mistaken, I can almost swear the FoF used to be on the $1 or Value menu at some point in time for like a looong time. Maybe I am wrong, but in the end I am giving this sandwich the Number 2 spot.
Chick-Fil-A - $5.09
Last but certainly not least is the fish sandwich from Chick-Fil-A, which I believe is a limited time menu item, and I am assuming it is only available until Easter. My suggestion? Get this before it is gone!!
For this stop, I decided to go with the deluxe option this time around. For 50 cents more than the Filet-o-Fish, I got not only fish and cheese, but lettuce, tomato and PICKLES! This sandwich was by far the prettiest, and just looking at the picture, it stood as tall as the other 2 sandwiches combined! This sandwich is not all looks either, the taste was there as well. The fish was crisp on the outside, and flakey on the inside. Another instance where it just melted in your mouth. I can say this sandwich was better than some full blown fish fries I have had in my days, not any this year, but definitely some that are on my list there towards the bottom. My one complaint about this sandwich was that it did come off as a little dry. After returning home from this mini adventure, I had to double check my order and see if this came with any tartar, which it did not. Tartar sauce was not even an option to get on the side when mobile ordering, although I am going to guess you can ask for it while you are there. Even without the tartar though, this sandwich was by far the best. Not only the sandwich, but the sides as well. Chick-Fil-A has more than just fries for their sides. Since I could not get a Mac salad today, I got the Mac and cheese, which is something I recommend everybody try. The fact that this Mac and cheese is prepared at a fast food restaurant and not somebody’s house is insane to me. It is that good!
The Final Verdict
If it’s Friday and you are looking for a fish fix, do yourself a favour and go to Chick-Fil-A. Hell, go try this any day of the week (except Sundays of course) as it is highly recommended to try for only $4-$5. Just make sure you ask for tartar sauce if that’s your thing, as it does not seem like the default option.

Captain Flowers talks about being a caster, find out how to play Zoe and constructing boots on Skarner
It’s at all times arduous to evaluate how followers will react when a brand new character is added to the casters’ desk. With new expertise coming in it means making room for what individuals already get pleasure from and nowhere is that extra true than the NA LCS, the place among the identical individuals have labored on the published crew because it began again in 2013.
So when Clayton “Captain Flowers” Raines joined the NA LCS broadcast in the beginning of 2017, nobody fairly knew what sort of reception he would obtain. Nonetheless after only one sequence on the desk, Raines’ dedication, arduous work and expertise shined by instantly and he was showered with praises from the notoriously arduous to please NA LCS crowd.
Now, nearly a yr after his journey as a Riot caster started, Rift Herald had an opportunity to sit down down with Raines on the 2017 All-Star Occasion to speak about how it began, what it was prefer to go from beginner leagues to worlds and his ideas on the preseason.
The Rift Herald: How did you get into, not simply casting basically, however Riot casting and League of Legends casting?
Clayton Raines: I did my first solid in the summertime of 2015 and again then, I wasn’t satisfied I had any enterprise doing it, however on the advice of family and friends, trigger I used to be at some extent in my life I had simply graduated school and I didn’t know what I wished to do, they advised doing this. And I initially thought, “There ain’t no approach in hell.” However the very first thing I did, for a month straight I solely watched pals taking part in solo queue and performed my voice over it and I performed these again for myself. No person else bought to listen to these!
Then I moved on to placing a pair movies on YouTube, I regarded on the boards, I moved onto an beginner group, stuff like that and the entire time I wished to do League of Legends, trigger it was a sport that I performed since 2009. As quickly as this sport was launched from beta I used to be taking part in this sport. It’s one of many only a few video games I’ve come again to time and time once more. It’s a sport I really like.
So, I figured if that is one thing you will do, if that is one thing you will give an trustworthy shot at, you possibly can’t go midway, and be like, “League of Legends is just too large.” Trigger that was my unique thought, you realize, ‘this sport is just too large, it has essentially the most views on Twitch.’ You had these guys like Phreak and Kobe and Jatt which were in it for years and years. What kinda enterprise do I’ve getting into right here? However I figured, I’m trolling by attempting to speak about video video games for a residing anyway, I would as nicely go for it…
TRH: You may as nicely shoot for the celebs?
CR: Proper, yeah, if you’re already going to house you may as nicely shoot for the most important, brightest star on the market. So, for some time I began casting for an beginner org that was principally like, ‘LCS for the remainder of us,’ groups full of men which can be like plat and diamond. And I feel they common like 70 viewers on a weekend, so it’s fairly small time.
However there was one clip from that, like their preseason, the place there was one crew that was all Masters tier guys, destined to win all the pieces, so a lot better than everybody else. However there was one other crew that was a pair Diamond one guys and a few Diamond 5 guys and so they beat em. And I had a Baron name the place the lesser crew had a 3v5 and beat em and I misplaced it. And that clip went to primary on the subreddit in a single day and that was my large break.
The subsequent day, and I say this with no exaggeration, no phrase play, I noticed a Riot Video games electronic mail in my inbox and I fell out of my chair. I kicked myself again from my desk and fell out of my chair. Trigger I believed, there’s no approach. There’s no approach Riot noticed that and wished to speak, however they did and so they did. And after many interviews and plenty of many months I finally discovered myself right here.
TRH: Have you ever been stunned by the group response too you from that preliminary small video to Worlds?
CR: Yeah, like I stated, after I began right here I believed I no enterprise being right here. I’ve no formal broadcasting coaching. I did radio for a yr in school and theater and improv, however I’ve by no means had broadcaster, shoutcaster, commentator coaching. So, I believed i’d have a pair individuals say, “Yeah that’s okay,” however everybody else could be like, “Get off the stage.”
However the reception to the preliminary YouTube video was actually constructive and the truth that Riot got here to speak to me was an enormous thumbs up, however by the point I bought the LCS, I had no concept what to anticipate from the higher reception. Trigger you realize, when somebody new exhibits up on the scene, it’s arduous for individuals. They only suppose, “Why is that this man right here, the place’s the man we all know?” So, I didn’t know what to anticipate. However the first day was unimaginable.
TRH: Do you suppose it makes a distinction that there aren’t many casters in North America that got here from a League of Legends background, or that units you aside in anyway?
CR: I feel that’s form of simply indicative of the state of the sport on the time that we got here in. I feel Quickshot used to play aggressive Name of Obligation or one thing, and Phreak used to play semi-pro Warcraft three, Kobe and Jatt had been each execs early on in League. However League wasn’t large again then. I keep in mind studying that their purpose was 10,000 concurrent gamers. So, it was sufficiently small that folks weren’t prone to come from there. However these guys have been round for the reason that starting, it is sensible that they got here from elsewhere.
However for me, who had performed the sport for thus lengthy, we’re in season 7 occurring season eight, it’s been round for a sizzling minute. So, the truth that I really like the sport as a lot as I do made me extra of somebody that they wished to come back into the scene.
TRH: Outdoors of that kinda stuff, I wished to get some ideas on the preseason from you. Have new runes modified the way in which you have a look at issues or put together for casts?
CR: The cool factor about new runes is that it throws this large query mark into all the pieces. Preseason at all times shakes issues up, modifications to the objects or the jungle or no matter, however it is a large change. It is a change to one thing that has been within the sport up up to now. In order that signifies that all the pieces, all of the metas all of the methods all the final consistencies that you just had at the moment, are out the window.
And to me, that’s so enjoyable. So that you get to see individuals do issues which can be like, “I don’t know if that is gonna work however we’re gonna attempt it anyway.” That experimentation part to me, in any sport I play not simply League of Legends, however I feel one of many funnest issues to do is that principle crafting and that experimentation attempting to determine what makes it work, trigger whenever you lastly do discover what works, it feels so sick.
TRH: Have you ever seen something to date that you just had been stunned by and thought, “I by no means would have anticipated this, how am I even going to speak about this?”
CR: There’s been a few attention-grabbing ones. I keep in mind when Aery first got here out I used to be like, wait a minute this factor is extremely robust, what is that this? However the one I used to be most excited for, trigger I’m a Skarner one trick, I solely play Skarner, so I used to be extra excited for the free boots mastery, or rune I ought to say, than I used to be for any of the others. Simply because it synergizes so nicely with the way in which that I play the sport.
So, anytime I see someone else take it, like I used to be watching a stream the opposite day of TFBlade, that tremendous good Akali participant, primary or two on the Challenger ladder, and he took the boots and I used to be like, ‘this man is aware of what’s up!’
TRH: It’s nearly like a secret membership. While you see another person utilizing the runes that solely you want, it’s like, ‘you perceive.’
CR: Yeah, and that’s the idea crafting that I used to be speaking about, you may get forward of the curve. It really feel even higher when everyone begins taking it, and it turns into the norm. Is that gonna occur with boots, I haven no concept, but when it does, you finest imagine I’m gonna pull on these victory glasses and be like, ‘again earlier than it was cool.’
TRH: So, final query, Zoe. What do you consider her, what do you consider casting her, does it make for a kind totally different expertise from the rest within the sport?
CR: Zoe could be very very robust. Clearly individuals have totally different opinions on Zoe, some individuals actually like her some individuals don’t. The bubble, I feel, is exceptionally robust as a CC potential. As a result of, should you miss it, there’s nonetheless crap on the bottom. Yesterday, I used to be so glad we bought to see Bjergsen play it, as a result of I actually like watching him as a participant and he showcased precisely what I wished to see type that champion. So he positioned them in a approach that introduced a alternative. You both have to choose a facet or dodge it, and should you dodge it it’s now a entice in a spot you possibly can’t stroll previous. He arrange the bounces on the Paddle Star very well, which I favored.
TRH: And Fofo, once they took targets was putting bubbles within the attempt brush of both Baron or Dragon.
CR: Yeah, yeah, actually showcasing what that champion can do. It was a champion that I noticed and I believed, this champion goes to be so extremely robust as soon as the professionals determine find out how to use it. Trigger, clearly, you need to transfer the factor and do your pool shooter trick shot and be taught to push the bubble by terrain correctly. However when you do nicely… I feel within the 2018 season, when it begins, you’re going to see numerous Zoe bans and numerous Ornn bans.
TRH: Are these sorts of champions enjoyable so that you can solid? Champions which can be so totally different from all the pieces else within the sport?
CR: Oh yeah. Champions which can be totally different from the sport are enjoyable becasue they convey you new alternatives to be enthusiastic about that you just couldn’t be enthusiastic about earlier than. If Zoe banks a shot off a 75 diploma angle and kills a man in a approach you by no means thought was potential, into fog of conflict, it’s superior. It’s one thing you by no means anticipated.
TRH: And it allows you to get enthusiastic about previous issues in new methods.
CR: Proper, each new factor isn’t just its personal factor, the way it interacts with all the pieces else there, I imply, sky’s the restrict.
