Only Friends เพื่อนต้องห้าม Ep 5

I'm finally caught up and oh, OH, this was a ride. This was very much Sand's episode, and I have a feeling when he finally does something to disappoint me he's going to devastate me … and I welcome it. He's such a well-written character so far. Feels very, very real.

Ray … it feels like he's genuinely got feelings for Sand, but he's also very much not over Mew and NOT ready to put a name to or commit to being more than fwb with Sand.

Mew kind of grew on me even more this episode, except for his inexplicable-to-me attraction to Top.

I missed Namcheuam this episode and hope to see her more next week.

Nick trying to be more like Top this episode was awful to watch, Boston seeming to react to it in a positive way was possibly worse.

Boston is the epitome of 22-y-o "I'm just telling it like I see it" and doesn't care what or who he hurts in the process. At this point I'm pretty sure the fact that Neo plays him so charmingly is his only saving grace. And the person who filmed him? probably Drake's character. Wonder whether he'll get a name eventually … which reminds me we still haven't met whoever it is Papang plays.

ANYWAY. That' the tl;dr; rambling live watch commentary below. I'm going to dive into the tag and try to see what I missed.

You could feel his body heat pressing against your back through your shirt, then his legs in between yours before feeling the weight of his arm across your waist. Your first instinct was to panic, it had been a few years since you’d been in this position with a boy, always making sure you never stayed the night if you’d been with a guy and you wanted to remove yourself from him immediately but you willed yourself you calm down and savour the moment. GHIS IS GOING TO BE YOUR DAILY ROUTINE Y/N

‘Oh, you’re awake’ he panicked and you sent him a quick nod. ‘How did you sleep?’MORNING LOVE

‘That’s good. Yeah. Not too bad. These pillows are awful though, I feel like complaining’ he told you with a smile and you let out a small laugh as you dropped your head. ‘I was thinking maybe I could take you out for breakfast? Or we could have it at mine? Or I can drop you home I don’t mind whatever works for you’ he rambled and your first instinct was to say no, this was all far too friendly for your liking but the thought of his sad face when you let him down again was too much to handle this early in the day. You actively shut off that part of your brain and found yourself nodding at him. THE FACT THAT THE ONLY THING HE WANTS IS MAKING HER FEEL COMFORTABLE

‘Of course, come sit and I’ll order’ he said, motioning for you to come over to the kitchen island. He let you pick where you ordered from and once he’d clicked order, he offered to lend you some clothes and you found yourself sat on his sofa in a grey tracksuit of his, wondering how the hell you got here. BABIES

‘What you doing down here?’ He whispered, turning his face towards yours but you kept looking up, not wanting to see how he was feeling right now. NOW STARTS ONE OF MY FAVOURITESSS PARTS

‘Would you consider us friends?’ ‘I think I would, yeah. Do you?’ ‘I told you, Mason. I don’t have friends’ you whispered and his face turned to look up again and even though you couldn’t see him very well you knew his face had dropped and your heart broke a little bit. ‘But I feel like I want to make an acceptation for you’ MY BABIES ARE FRIENDS NOWWWW

THE WAY HE ALWAYS RESPECTS HER AND HER PRIVACY

‘I really like you. And I think you know that’ he whispered into your temple but you held your tongue as you could feel yourself wanting to tell him you liked him back. ‘So if I’m ever pushing things too far or you need some space from me, just talk to me yeah? I can be a lot sometimes’ he laughed and you squeezed him a little tighter, thankful he’d taken you serious and was respecting your decisions. MY LOVELY MAN

‘Can I stay here for a bit longer?’ You asked timidly and he was quick to reassure you and settle back into the sofa with you. You sat and spoke for a while, reminiscing about what you could remember from the night before and laughing at some of the pictures he’d taken of you and Sophia dancing on Bens coffee table. So.....just finished reading homestuck epilogue (candy)....I just...I don't know how I should feel...I absolutely love gamzee. But that Gamzee I hate the most. I hate Jane and I'm surprised that Gamzee is with her cause in some parts he does make some good points about her being a bitch. I sometimes wonder why doesn't he just leave??? And I hate Vriska and all but what he fucking did was absolutely fucking disgusting, he's like in his 30's and she is like I think 15?? Gamzee is just fucking gross in this. Elliott didn't enjoy Christmas all that much anymore. He still went to most parties and hosted the event, but there was a vacancy in his heart that no amount of celebration could fill.

He used to, a lot. But with the disappearance of his brothers and his mother's waning memory, there wasn't much to really enjoy. It was supposed to be spent with family.

And sure, the other Legends had become pretty close to Elliott, but he still allowed none of them in, except for Bloodhound. And they were nowhere to be found tonight.

He sighed and sat back on the couch, studying the common area. He wasn't in here much, usually he was in his own room, working on his tech or cleaning his gear, stitching it up like his mother taught him to so long ago.

Tonight he decided to stay on the ship, and even though he liked Makoa's uproarious laughter and Pathfinder's peculiar questions regarding human anatomy, he just wanted time away from it all. The Mirage Voyage event had taken a lot out of him.

A dull thump caught his attention from the doorway and he whipped around, in time to catch a figure ducking into the shadows near the wall. "Revenant, if you're trying to pull some shit-"

"Don't be alarmed."

Elliott's eyebrows shot up. "Bloodhound? It's been hours. Where have you been?"

The masked hunter sighed, stepping out of the shadows. Their coat seemed oddly bulky, and it appeared to be squirming.

"What- what have you got there?" Elliott asked hesitantly. There was no way Arthur had grown and no way the bird would fit in Bloodhound's coat.

Bloodhound was silent for a moment, and the light reflecting off their goggles made them look comically wide-eyed. Very fitting for what Elliot imagined the hunter's expression to be.

"A puppy."

"Why?"

A sigh. "It was supposed to be a surprise for you."

"You should be better at walking quietly." Elliott chuckled and gestured to the spot on the couch beside him. "Let's see it."

Bloodhound sat, close enough that Elliott could smell the leaves and the dirt on their armor. It made his heart beat slightly faster, but he'd never admit that.

Maybe one day, though.

"She is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Very good for helping with emotions." Bloodhound paused and faced him. "I know you've been feeling a lot of them recently."

Elliott gave a half smile. "You pay an awful lot of attention."

A soft laugh emanated from behind the mask and they opened their coat, gently pulling out a small puppy and gingerly placing them on the couch. It ran up to Elliott and crawled into his lap immediately, sniffing at his shirt and arms.

"You're helping me take care of them."

"It is a she."

"Right, you're helping me take care of her."

Elliott could hear the smile. "I shall. What will you call her?"

"Evelyn."

Hey, i love the Shepard's so I'm gonna write abt themmmm lets goooooo

(It's mainly Purly)

I've said this before, but tim's enormous

He's 6'9 and 264lbs

Most of that is muscle mass bc he hits the gym 3 times a week

Everyone's scared of him bc he's so damn tall and muscular

Curly tries his dang hardest to be like his older brother

Tim is more cocky and knows he's intimidating. He uses that in fights and just every day life to get what he wants

Curly is more like, "frick u mom, i'ma skate where i want 2. Ok ur yelling at me now. Oh, I'm cry"

The brothers don't have a close bond

Angela on the other hand is really close to Tim

She's been his right hand since she was born

They go off and do illegal stuff and then curly is stuck at home doing math hw

Angela has a scar above her left eyebrow, but she covers it with makeup

Angela does makeup on Curly all the time and he secretly loves it

He slays in makeup

Angela's personality is "oh, u looked at me? Well, u must be in love with me."

She's a bit narcissistic

Curly met Ponyboy at a school rally when he bumped into him. Pony was reading a book and walking, then bam, hot guy in his face. Pony said sorry about 100 times and for some reason Curly didn't yell at him.

Then, after that, Curly was all like "shoot that horse man's hOT"

So, he goes up to pony the next day at school and tells him that he's not angry about running into him, then asks him about the book he's reading.

And boy, does pony's face lite up when he talks on and on about it

Curly has never seen a cuter smile

They walk home from school together, and that evening Curly goes into a book store and snatches a copy of the book Pony was reading

It's not Curly's cup of tea(mainly bc he's awful at reading) but its also a poetry book and it confuses him

Eventually they just kinda... become a thing?? Ya

Tim ends up with a Soc boyfriend

His name is George, but Tim calls him Geo

One of the things Tim LOVES about his boyfriend is how many cool cars he has that Tim can drive FAST in

Geo ends up as a part of the gang and Angela is demoted from right hand so that Geo can have that spot

She's v pissed, but she and Tim still do illegal stuff together all the time

Angie's had so many boyfriends(and a couple gf's too) she's lost count

PB helps Curly w/ hw basically every day

Bc Mr. Shepard literally doesn't care what his children do, as long as they're home by the time he wakes them up, they have so many tattoos

One of the first ones Curly got was for Pony

He go the outline of a book with the cover art of the poem book on his left bicep

He also has the word "Kin" written down the outside of his right thigh, along with a baseball bat with a snake coiled around it on his right hip. (He has a lot more, but they're mainly just snakes and spiders)

Angela got birds on her left shoulder blade, a flower on her left hip, and a blade on her right forearm

All of them have Shepard written on their lower backs

Even Geo got that tattoo after he started dating Tim

Yes, if this wasn't set in canon time, i would have Tim get married to Geo just so they could both have the last name Shepard

Tims Tattoos: he got a geode for George's nickname, a realistic heart over his right chest, a crown on his other chest that has the word "king" under it, he has a mustang in between his shoulder blades, a praying angel on his left bicep, a piece of candy that says "bittersweet" on the wrapper, he has a pistol, knife, and a pare of scissors tied up with a ribbon on the right side of his rib cage, a matching tattoo with George that says "thank the lord" behind their left ears, and so many more

Curly come out to Angela and Tim a couple days after he realized that he was dating pony and he cried

He felt like a failure because he was gay AND showing emotion

Curly:*through tears*"Tim, Angela... i... i have something to tell you... i-I'm gay... and i have a boyfriend."

Tim: "niiiiccceee. How hot is he?"

Angela: "Curly "the player" Shepard!"

Curly was shook at their reaction

also, curly yelled at Tim for hitting on his boyfriend w/o even knowing who he was or what his name was

When Curly said that he was dating Ponyboy Angela and Tim went stiff

Tim: *hits Curly over the head* "YOU'RE DATING A CURTIS BOY?!?!?"

So yeet, thats when Curly found out that Pony was in a gang too

he seemed too smart to be out on the streets with hoodlums, but then he met the rest of his gang and realized that they weren't hoods

it is known that he loves his fair share of liquor, but it is also known that he cannot hold as much liquor as he lets on–on nights that he just can’t deal with all the shit he has to put up with, he’ll down shots of tequila until he literally cannot feel his body anymore. he’s weightless. and then he ends up in the bed of some total stranger and cannot remember what happened

he has the worst habit of picking fights with people for no reason. usually he’s mellowed out when he’s around people he’s comfortable with and/or respects, but when he’s alone or trying to show off, he’ll pick a fight with anything that has a pulse

his anger management needs some work, he has a bad habit of getting mad at the tiniest things

Chuuya needs a better diet, he mostly eats anything he can find while he’s on the road and his liquids consist of alcohol and sweet drinks–someone get this boy a salad

he twirls his hair around his fingers when he’s deep in thought or nervous about something, and he hates it when he catches himself doing it and he hates it even more when others catch him doing it because they’ll poke fun at him for it

Atsushi

he’s a nail biter. once, Dazai coated his nails with something that tasted awful while Sushi was asleep, and next time he went to bite his nails, he wanted to vomit (the habit was not broken, much to Dazai’s disappointment)

also needs a better diet–he eats pretty good foods, but that’s when he actually eats. half the time he’s too occupied or focused or anxious about something and he can never seem to find the time to eat or keep anything down

Sushi has a very bad habit of pushing people away, as we have all seen. once he feels like he’s gotten too close, he feels as if he doesn’t deserve someone’s attention and tends to try and get out of the relationship somehow

Sushi bottles up his feelings inside until he doesn’t have room for any more negativity, and this leads to a huge and dramatic purge of all of his negative emotions. he can cry and fret for days when he purges his emotions like this

Dazai

Daz almost never replaces his bandages and after a while they start to stink and look gross and Kunikida has to practically (much to his distaste) beg Dazai to shower and change his bandages

when Daz does shower, he sings. very loudly. he doesn’t see it as a bad habit, but everyone that’s around to hear him screaming lyrics to his favorite song definitely thinks it is.

he’s also a shower hog and uses up all the hot water

Daz is a pen chewer. when he’s really concentrating on something, his teeth are grating against the head of his pen. end of discussion.

Daz is quite impatient and has picked up the bad habit of tapping his foot against the ground when he’s talking to people who he thinks are wasting his time – he did it to Kunikida once and got a brutal slap across the face

Akutagawa

his sleeping schedule is literally nonexistent. chuuya and gin have to beg him to sleep when he is off from work–it’s not like he doesn’t want to sleep or doesn’t feel tired, he’s afraid of being vulnerable and doesn’t want anything to happen while he’s asleep

also has a terrible diet. he’s very hydrated, though, since he loves tea. but getting him to eat is…a chore.

Aku purposely yawns when people are wasting his time with nonsense talk, or he’ll just walk away. he doesn’t see it as a bad habit because he thinks its necessary to only keep absolutly necessary interactions, but everyone thinks it’s so rude

Aku will sometimes go out drinking with Chuuya if Chuuya harasses him enough, but Aku always ends up getting into bar fights that he can’t handle very well and sometimees needs rescuing from his higher up

Gin

she is so stealth. she is stealth. she always manages to sneak up on people and scare them half to death, even when she’s not trying to. once she accidentally snuck up on Akutagawa in the kitchen, and she had to defend herself against Rashomon who lurched to protect him

she mimics people when she’s annoyed with them. it happens very often with Tachihara, whom is very annoying to her, and whenever she mimics him (whether is verbally or non verbally/physically) they get into a small skirmish

she uses her bedroom wall as target practice with her knives and their neighbors are constantly banging on her wall to stop making that thudding noise

oof i respect ma zhe saying that he doesnt want to win bc he recognizes other kids like FRUIT PLANET KIDS, zy and xiao zhi, are so skilled. he knows winning is just a numbers game and would not serve as proof of his skill. thats a tough place to be in, and it isnt uncommon but i think i rarely hear a contestant say it like that. “i dont want to win bc im not worthy” “i dont want to win bc i know im not as talented”

wow i was a little confused as to why they were doing these solo spotlights but actually this is really nice! its nice to see them really going hard at their strengths and really pouring their all in to show off a bit. it can be hard to do so in a group setting all the time, and really it reminds you that there a lot of really talented musicians among these kids. i think itll also be good to remind the kids who are picking later what the other kids’ skills are and what they’re capable of.

oh whoa i thought about there only being 2 bassists, i didnt realize there are only 2 pianists too

hm maybe im just biased but i thought xiao li’s playing was a litttleee bit cleaner than szb’s heheh but i respect that they attempted to even play a duet from across the room, thats a challenge

oof xiao xiong talking about hyt being overbearing and reminding him of his ANGRY DAD thats a big ouch. it is true that xiao xiong’s skill level may not be up to hyt’s standards, but i can see hyt doesnt respect him enough as a team member. the more familiar hyt gets with him, the more he isnt afraid to show his true feelings of frustration. esp bc theyre in such a stressful situation, it must be rough as a leader. also seems rough for xiao li to be stuck in between this. from the beginning hyt has shown himself to have high standards and he demands high quality so he isnt gonna be the soft, encouraging leader xiao xiong probably would prefer, unfortunately. ouch the way hyt straight up says “this is going to be painful” like theres nothing he can do about it and they just have to accept it. like ps says, he’s not good at understanding other people’s feelings, like he doesnt seem to be willing to try to understand xiao xiong’s.

the way hyt lists what other people are doing and then asks xiao xiong “那你呢?” ouch........ that seems really mean? manipulative? harsh? but at the same time, we dont really know all the context so this is just want tencent wants us to think.

hyt also wants xiao zhi???? I cant imagine xiao zhi in this group, even tho itd probably be good for his possible debuting prospects, but xiao zhi gives me such a laid back, warm, taking care of everyone, creating a nice, supportive environment type of leader, and this group is literally the opposite of that??? ugh and yet, despite their superior group environment, fruit planet is at risk of getting disbanded... so sad.

OH MY GOODNESS XIAO LI IS LEAVING?????? i can understand though, this grouping is not ideal from a music making standpoint either, like why are there so many vocalists lol but also i respect that hes putting his music first and he knows what he wants and needs for his music. even if it means leaving hyt who is basically a guarantee for popularity on this show. im so surprised xiao xiong isnt saying he will leave too.. or even hyt himself at this point. theyre all just... crying.... but honestly how can they make music without xiao li???

AWH my heart.... xiao li asking xiao xiong “你會恨我嗎?” i have never felt “do you hate me” hit me in the feels like this before. its such an OOF. and xiao xiong saying hes super close to xiao li, you can tell hes been under such emotional duress and xiao li has supported him through and now hes just conflicted between betraying hyt (who he wouldnt be here without) and suffering with hyt without xiao li there to help. this is so sad to watch..... ok but honestly just seeing how in this emotional time, ma zhe and xiao xiong are talking to xiao li and NOT hyt says something about how theyre afraid to touch him.

what xiao li says about hyt being kidnapped by his popularity makes so much sense, with what hyt said about chasing after his expectations and trying to live up to them. hes really not relaxed. ever. and i think thats what xiao li doesnt want to work with. i respect that he wants to be recognized for his music rather than just be recognized.

technically the smart move is to pick a popular contestant like zhao ke, to boost your group’s popularity overall. BUT hyt is so popular it really doesnt matter LOL

man its so interesting bc i feel like on other shows, the contestants are always like “i dont want to get eliminated!” but here its like “i dont feel like i can fit into their music, id rather be eliminated.” its an interestingly different type of setting. i respect that they respect their own music, but i guess theyre not thinking enough about their future career progression? if they really want to make it in the music industry? idk. its interesting bc i feel like ljt has struggled so hard since getting eliminated from the first season that i assume / hope he has more of a mindset of wanting to make it to the end.
