Devotional for February 16th
Be not slothful In business. - Romans 12:11
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. - Hebrews 12:3
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. - Hebrews 12:12
Slothfulness and weariness are sure to smuggle themselves in, when you become secure in grace and when, after having received the forgiveness of sins, you do not make war against evil habits, but make peace with one or another bosom-sin and in a subtle manner cling to it; when you, while enjoying the goodness of the Lord, believe that it is not necessary to be on your guard against your old enemies; that the wicked one can now no more cause you any injury, and that you can no more be lost, because you are in the bosom of God. Only too soon comes the old habit and inclination, the sin that still clings to us, into view. Grace diminishes because we do not "hold it fast, and because we are not zealous but lukewarm in the service of the Lord. Then we feel faint and permit "the hands" to ’’hang down" and we spare "the feeble knees. " Not so, beloved! Follow the Apostle’s admonition. Take courage and lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, that ye may raise your hands to heaven and make your footsteps sure. The God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory, shall prepare, establish, strengthen, settle you.
Ye servants of the Lord, Each in His office wait, Observant of His heavenly Word, And watchful at His gate.

Consider This: Sometimes, the Best Arguments Have No Words
The eyewitnesses who saw Jesus provided evidence about who he was. When you look closely at what they said, it makes a pretty compelling case. “For consider him [Jesus] that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” (Hebrews 12:3 KJV) The uniqueness of Jesus is often overlooked, believe it or not. His parables and teachings have a timeless…

The Nation's Need
The Nation’s Need
2 Thessalonians 3:13 As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.   Hebrews 12:3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. Let’s follow Cotton Mathers example, no matter how long it takes. Let’s give ourselves to prayer for the revival of the nation. He can do what none of us can. He can change the heart of men…

‭‭2 Timothy 3:14-17 (NIV)‬‬. “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
‭‭Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)‬‬. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
“The Question of Inerrancy” by In Touch Ministries:
“Do you believe that all of the Bible is true?”
“Have you ever wondered about the supposed inconsistencies critics point out in the Bible? Such things might leave you questioning how to tell what’s truly God’s Word and what isn’t. The answer is simple: God is the final authority. The Sovereign of the universe had no trouble keeping His Word pure. As 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial.”
Reading the Bible as a whole document reveals that each part is consistent with every other. God allowed for writers’ differences in viewpoint and background, which at times can give the appearance of discrepancy. But further study always reveals how the various parts fit together. Consider, for example, the gospels’ different angles on a story. Writing to Jewish people, Matthew emphasizes history and the fulfillment of messianic prophecy. John tells a love story about a Savior willing to die for the world. While both authors traveled in Jesus’ company, their perspectives differed. Yet in the fundamentals, they and the other two writers are consistent.
It is critical for believers to trust in the inerrancy of the Scriptures. A flawed book could only be the product of man’s hand, but the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. His Spirit did the talking, no matter whose hand wrote the message.”

"YES, GOD CAN STILL USE YOU!"
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, READY TO BE USED] for good words, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” (AMP) When David first arrived at…

Running our OWN Race
Running our OWN Race
My son asked me: “Is that an Oura ring you’re wearing?” I replied that it was. He said he saw his friend wearing one and wondered if it worked. Intentionally, I run/walk/exercise as much as I can, when I can. But, there are days when “I’m a squatter!” I just sit as I write blogs, have devotional times, talk on the phone, send text messages, write a talk that I am about to give AND on all those…

Enforcing Christ's Victory (242) – April 20 2024
Play on other Podcast Apps This program reminds us of the defeat of sickness and disease, as a result of God defeating the devil and his powers of darkness by him being disarmed (Col 2:15). The devil may still have the ability to inflict sickness and disease and other oppressive evil measures against humanity, but he has no authority to do so because of being disarmed by God in Christ, at the…

The Call to Endurance
1 A huge cloud of witnesses is all around us. So let us throw off everything that stands in our way. Let us throw off any sin that holds on to us so tightly. And let us keep on running the race marked out for us. 2 Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 He made it through these attacks by sinners. So think about him. Then you won’t get tired. You won’t lose hope. — Hebrews 12:1-3 | New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Holy Bible, New International Reader’s Version® Copyright © 1995, 1996, 1998 by Biblica. “For consider him [Jesus] that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” (Hebrews 12:3 KJV) The uniqueness of Jesus is often overlooked, believe it or not. His parables and teachings have a timeless quality, and have been woven into the common wisdom of many of the world’s cultures. Most people credit Jesus with being a prophet or a great…
