"YES, GOD CAN STILL USE YOU!"
Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, READY TO BE USED] for good words, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].” (AMP) When David first arrived at…

It is WILD to me that there were so many steps almost not taken that led to that final scene with Alphonse
First, Lou debated blowing up the trebuchet, but decided that would be awkward
Then, Pinocchio considers stopping to attack Alphonse himself but gets yelled at by the party because Alphonse is literally surrounded by enemies and he would be surrendering double moment to hurt someone doomed for death.
THEN Brennan decided to allow Pinocchio lighting a firework and giving it to Cricket as an object interaction
Pib gives Alphonse the help action and he fails his save. At FIRST, Pinocchio admits he was going to use his Master of Destiny reaction to MAKE him fail so he’s all good. But FINALLY upon hearing Pib say Alphonse is the only person from his town who’s still alive, Pinocchio feels bad and uses the ability help save Alphonse and he fucking rolls a Nat 20
And that Nat 20, guys gals and non-binary pals, is what allows a Cricket aiming a firecracker at a rocket to kill many tiny people and break a curse, turning a mule back into a prince

Romans 1:18‭-‬23 (NLT). “But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.”
“Evidence of the Lord” By In Touch Ministries:
“God doesn’t leave anyone out—He gives everyone the opportunity to become part of His family.”
“We were created to share a relationship with God—that’s why He has made His existence clear to everyone. Sometimes His revelation is miraculous, like the burning bush that Moses discovered. But more often than not, we encounter our Father’s presence in everyday surroundings.
Paul wrote to the church in Rome that “[God’s] invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made” (Rom. 1:20). In other words, the Lord is evident in every created thing. Have you ever wondered how an old oak survives season after season? Have you marveled at the starry sky or watched a colony of ants work together? All such things point us to the Lord.
God made His presence evident in nature because He “wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). He has given us the capacity to be aware of Him through what He has made. However, the Father has also given every person the choice of whether to accept or reject a relationship with Him.
What will you do the next time you see evidence of the Lord in your world? Scripture promises we won’t regret knowing Jesus. After all, He wants us to “have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10)

I don’t think it matters if Brennan knew a TPK was likely or not. I’ve seen arguments from both sides, and I think either could be possible, but ultimately I think this point is irrelevant, because both options are bad.
Let’s say it was an accident. Why didn’t Brennan pull a mr. Gibbons moment or find an ex machina? Why didn’t he have the animated furniture pieces become inert once their spell caster was dead? Why did he give Rosamund a bead before her death? Why didn’t he stop production for a bit in order to think of how to prevent this? The TPK being an accident explains the lack of fanfare and foreshadowing of it, but it also raises a lot of questions considering the fact this is an actual play show and they need to have a narrative, which an accidental TPK makes very difficult.
What if the TPK was on purpose, or at least not an unexpected potential? What if the cast was in on it? Brennan did warn them it could be a deadly fight, and certainly didn’t pull any punches. But Brennan gave the PCs so many chances to succeed that this feels unlikely. If you know a TPK is coming, you don’t make your players and audience sit through 10 minutes of death saving throws on the off chance someone survives, because that’s boring to watch. It’s also not satisfying narratively to have 6 characters die within 30 minutes of each other, because the shock factor wares off and it becomes rote and almost annoying. If the TPK was intended, then that is a form of railroading (which is not an accusation I make lightly) by forcing the characters into the path of death no matter what decisions they made. I don’t think it was fully intended or planned, because it’s hard to record dice rolling on the right numbers an appropriately shitty amount, but if it was a likely possibility Brennan should’ve handled it better.
The episode 3 TPK is also really narratively unsatisfying. If this happened end of episode 1, I would understand. Episode 1 has the world being set up, it establishes status quo, and most importantly doesn’t leave the audience (and potentially the players) feeling lost and confused at the end of the session because so many clues were gained and then every one just died seemingly preventable (from a meta perspective) deaths. This is an ineffective subversion of tropes, because there is no lead up or specific meaning given to it. A good twist should make you look back at the previous minutes of the content with new contextualizations and realize that this was what was meant to happen all along. The fact that we aren’t give an explanation at the end of this episode makes it feel unfinished and unsatisfying, and further plays into the fact that we cannot tell if it was purposeful or not.
I do not like the way this ended, and while I’m hoping the next episode will explain everything, I’m really disappointed in this ending and the way it was handled.

A Golden Treasury for the Children of God
Tumblr media
by Carl Heinrich von Bogatzky
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful, he cannot deny himself. - 2 Timothy 2:13
A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; - Isaiah 42:3
for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Romans 10:13
Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. - Matthew 5:6
Whoever has such a hungering and thirsting heart, desiring grace above all things, calling upon the name of the Lord, and depending only upon Christ, as a justifying faith already, and is in a state of salvation, though as yet he has not the full assurance of it. This is a fruit of the former, but it is not always enjoyed so soon, nor constantly, at least not without hard conflicts.
Jesus, if still the same thou art, If all thy promises are sure, Set up thy kingdom in my heart, And make me rich, for I am poor; To me be all thy treasures given, The kingdom of an inward heaven.
Where is the blessedness bestowed On all that hunger after thee? I hunger now, I thirst for God! See, the poor fainting sinner, see, And satisfy with endless peace, And fill me with thy righteousness.
Lord, I believe the promise sure, And trust thou wilt not long delay: Hungry, and sorrowful, and poor, Upon thy word myself I stay! Into thine hands my all resign, And wait till all thou art is mine.

Nine Biblical Reasons to Reject Donald Trump as a Candidate for President
Wednesday is for Political Controversy I don’t want to write this post.  Despite the fact that I wrote a book with the title Picking a President or Any Other Elected Official, I’m not a really political person.  I’m a registered Independent. Have been all my life. I wish all Christians were registered Independents. I don’t think it is wise for Christians to be identified with either or any…

"THAT CONTAINER IS LYING ABOUT ITS CONTENTS"
Matthew 7:15, “Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you LOOKING LIKE SHEEP on the OUTSIDE, but on the INSIDE they are really like wild WOLVES.” (GNT) My two favorite seasons are Winter and Fall! Winter, because I love Christmas, snow, carols, decorations and the like. And Fall, because I love the colors, Thanksgiving, the start of the scent of fireplaces, but most of all,…

I Am In Anguish In This Flame (Part 2) (220) - November 18 2023
Play on other Podcast Apps The second of two programs looking at Luke 16:19-31, regarding the rich man and the destitute Lazarus. On earth Lazarus was at the gate of the rich man, begging for anything that may drop from the man’s table. After both died (in the physical sense), the rich man and Lazarus switched positions. The man was taken to Hades (the place of the dead) by angels, while Lazarus…

Are You On Fire?
One of the things my wife and I love to do is sit in front of our fireplace and watch it, during the few days it is cool enough to run in Texas. Although our fireplace is a gas fireplace and does not consume anything other than gas, it is great to watch. When we can, we also love to have an outside firepit to watch and roast marshmallows on. Fire is something that many people love to watch. It…

But Now
“But now” is an important method when it comes to understanding the Bible. If we straddle prophecy and mystery we will be unstable and doubleminded as things are different now to the way they once were in times past during Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. During the time of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John the law (keeping the Sabbath, celebrating the feast days, adhering to a kosher diet, etc) wasn’t…
