When Crowley confronts Jimbriel in the bedroom above the bookshop, and tells him to jump out the window, you can see the "Give Me Coffee" part of the "Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death" sign, and then at the end of that scene, Crowley gives Jim a mug of hot chocolate. He gives him hot chocolate instead of death.

So it turns out Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death plays Queen instrumentals, and after listening way too hard to the coffee date scene, I gotta share how well the part of the song they used fits.
Crowley gets a fantastically dramatic entrance to the section that makes everyone feel things:
Mama, ooh
I don't wanna die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
Great for a snake having an existential crisis. Then we get the instrumental break, which builds until it drops off right in time to highlight the comedy of:
Until Aziraphale says:
I see a little silhouetto of a man
He sure did!
Thunderbolt and lightning very, very frightening me
Of course you are, bud.
(Galileo) Galileo
(Galileo) Galileo
Galileo Figaro
History jokes!
Spare him his life from this monstrosity 🥲
And there's a reason beyond the dialogue why this part feels so stressful, because it gets the back and forth of:
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go (Let him go!)
Bismillah! We will not let you go (Let him go!)
Go back and listen to the scene, it's a very subtle joke. 😄

Unless what? UNLESS WHAT, CROWLEY⁉️
Crowley is entering his character development arc, everyone applause I just think he and Nina would be really good pals that are always bickering but always try to help the other, okay? :(
Also Crowley is the fandom lol

Almost seven months. And there's still "Aziraphale chose Heaven over Crowley".
More like Aziraphale chose life over death. Don't you think?
We all love Crowley, but sometimes it's not just him you're supposed to look at. He's not the only character of this show. Everyone and everything else matter too.
Aziraphale left not only Crowley, but also their bookshop and everything else. The only thing Aziraphale can leave Crowley and their bookshop for is their lives.
Seems like the Metatron isn't going to smite Aziraphale and/or Crowley here and now. But he might change his mind if Aziraphale keeps turning him down.

You know I noticed the little yin and yang sign in give me coffee or give me death and it just reminds me of when David Tennant said that "they were the yin to each other's yang"

MY TWO BRAIN CELLS JUST STARTED WORKING AND I NEED TO SHARE THIS.
The Bentley is parked outside the coffee shop the ENTIRE TIME Aziraphale and the Metatron were having that conversation Crowley nor the audience heard.
BUT OH BOY THERE COULD A HINT IN PLAIN SIGHT.
THE BENTLEY.
An EXTENSION of the man himself, who didn't hear what Azi talked about. It is parked outside of the shop called “Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death.”
Aziraphale was GIVEN coffee by the Metatron.
But nobody ever asks for death. Right?
That's because it would be GIVEN to them. Without a choice.
What I am saying is one person would be given death unknowingly without asking for it.
Crowley.
Metatron was going to kill the one thing he held dear. His connection to Aziraphale.
That conversation most likely included a death threat towards Crowley.
I could be wrong but it seems Aziraphale is going to be made to think Crowley is dead. Just as Crowley believed Aziraphale was in Season 1.
So the book shop went up in flames and Crowley believed it was hellfire….
What could be the one thing that could scare Aziraphale? Crowley and Holy Water.
Where did we see that? Oh yeah.
IN THE BENTLEY.
Foreshadowing, perhaps? That Aziraphale will see what it feels like to lose Crowley via Holy Water inside something he knows he holds dear.
His Bentley.
Furthermore, if Crowley can FEEL what happens with The Bentley, does it know something Crowley doesn't? How would it get his attention? THE SONG IN THE CAR.
A reminder of Aziraphale. Trying to tell Crowley to go after him. Only until Crowley shuts off the radio.
Please let me know what you all think of the heartbreaking S3 theory…..i’m going to go cry now.

"It’d been five years and thousands of orders since then. That particular combination meant nothing to her.
Crowley, however, remembered, and he leapt for the door, moving in slow motion, too late, too late -"
HOLY FORKING SHIRTBALLS IT'S DONE!
I've been wanting to do a Footnotes piece for ages since I've been following the fic for a while, and this scene was too epic not to jump on. It forced me to work at a lot of things I find challenging, like lighting, wings and backgrounds, and to get creative at conveying energy and movement!
And shout-out to @chernozemm for the incredible art tips - that layer blur/set-to-soft-light tip made SUCH A DIFFERENCE in the final result! Like it blew my mind lol.

Christmas present!
My other half got me an acrylic display case to keep the dust off my Good Omens "Give me coffee or give me death" mug from the set tour. Both Sir Derek Jacobi and Neil Gaiman signed it for me, so I'm glad it'll get the protection and respect it deserves <3
