Would really love to hear about the angsty marcotobias fic if you're interested in sharing. 👀
Oh gosh, I feel like I'd have to actually write it for it to make sense because like 80% of it is subtext, but here's some rambling in that general direction.
I'm chiefly interested in the ways in which Marco & Tobias are actually incredibly similar -- their senses of humor, their attractions, their complete direspect for authority, and most importantly how they both lowkey hate themselves but insist on survival anyway, largely out of spite -- but how they treat their similarity as, like, a cautionary tale rather than the basis for a healthy connection that it could be.
Like, Tobias disappearing into the woods and giving up on everybody is exactly the kind of behavior that Marco finds incredibly triggering, having lived through it with his dad. Marco would never walk away from his remaining loved ones like that, especially in the post-war world where he's charged himself with being the public face of the Animorphs because somebody has to. But there is absolutely a part of him that wants to give up and disappear; ya boi is tired.
Meanwhile, I think Tobias sees Marco's devotion to Jake and refusal to abandon him even after how Rachel died (which Tobias blames Jake for) as a version of the hero worship complex Tobias used to have about Jake -- like, I think Tobias sees Marco as being too devoted to Jake to see "the truth" about him, and he pities that in Marco. But at the same time, Tobias envies Marco's close personal connections, and I think on some level he knows that the only way to get to that place would be to work through his anger at Jake to get to his anger at Rachel, and he just can't bring himself to do that. It's easier to stay mad.
And then there's the question of Rachel herself, whom they were both deeply invested in trying to keep alive at the end of the war. Like, we see this explicitly from Tobias, with his "just be Rachel" and constant emotional check-ins with her, but I don't think Marco gets enough credit for his active role in keeping her literally alive. Dude bodily removed her from battles, at risk to his own life, and I just refuse to believe that's not something Marco & Tobias talked about, given how much time they spent together in Ax's scoop during that period of time between Marco's fake death & the move to the valley. Rachel is both a mutual love and a mutual failure for them (and that level of mutual devotion to a third person gives my polyamorous ass A Lot of Feelings).
Basically I think there's a lot of respect and love between Tobias and Marco, but they can't get to it because it would require each of them to deal with Rachel-related guilt and confront parts of themselves that they don't want to acknowledge.
...so I want to get them high on Marco's fancy penthouse balcony and make them kiss about it

how will we ever get the spark to wonder, question, and think deeply about art when someone says a prompt or two into a generator, and out comes a painting that doesnt mean anything, because nobody took the time to tell a story within it? how can anybody do that if the art has no meaning like with ai art? when it isnt meticulously crafted by the complex mind of a creative human?
you cant tell an ai to convey the hurt and betrayal of a mortal against their own hubris as they fall off of the high horse they pitched themselves upon the way that a human would, because ai isnt human. it will never be human. and to compare ai art to human art and call them equals is dehumanization, and it strips art of every power it has ever had across the whole of human history.

The tenderness in this photo is NOT helping my feral ness for this boy!
Anons are already up my ass for mentioning Lavinia so I might as well respond to this now because ABSOLUTELY. You have 100% absolutely 10/10 come to the right place. The way he has one hand behind her head even though it looks like hes holding something. Instead of leading her by her chin or jaw which can feel a little aggressive he he holds her face delicately. He just has to make sure she’s hearing what he’s saying to her, but does so gently, carefully. And her looking at him like Thomas is the whole world. Personally i tense when anyone touches my face no matter what but she’s so relaxed and that says a lot.
Plus the fact that she’s posting a picture of them without actually posting a picture of them. You don’t need to see Thomas to infer his relevance because the way Lavinia is looking says everything and more. Usually couples take pictures wrapped around each other to show their affection, but Lavinia isn’t even touching him. She’s not even smiling, but her expression still reads as head over heels and devoted.

I'm having some kind of feelings about it being pointed out to us in-story more than once in S3 that Isaac spends the majority of his time working in his lab alone (which Lamarr seems to believe is just perfectly relatable hyperfocus but Claire gets a little worried that it's about the crew not liking him).
Add to that the scene in Tale Of Two Topas in which he expressed worry about Kelly's reputation if the crew assumed that his visit to her rooms means they are romantically/sexually involved (Isaac is no old fuddy-duddy who cares about being a "man" alone with a woman in her chambers. It's the 25th century ffs, he doesn't care about being appropriate, he once made a sex-position survey. This is about Kelly possibly being involved with a Kaylon. Sidenote: whoever said something nasty about Claire in Isaac's hearing, I like to think their synthesizer developed a "mysterious" glitch where there's a little poop in everything).
Add to those the scene later that same episode where he said he didn't do the surgery for Topa's sake. He did it to improve his standing with the crew... to improve their efficiency. Please mind how we never SAW that alleged decrease in efficiency even implicitly, but we've seen people being nice to him in public and people being openly suspicious of him in public, and how do we think those two groups get on, especially if he's in the room? Or the kids of those groups of people (just imagine what the Mom from that teacher-parent meeting would have to say about it)? It's a small ship.

maybe I'm just being a hypochondriac, but I think I might have a deviated septum and that's why breathing through my nose is so fucked. a few weeks ago I stumbled on a screenshot of my most recent dental xray (2018?) and because I've never seen it before, I was looking at it closely and noticed my septum looks? quite off?? and I compared it to images of xrays of deviated septums taken at the same angle. at the very least, it doesn't look like the "normal" septum. idk what I'd do with this information or if it's even something I could get fixed. it's not like I have a family doctor.

every time someone RSVPs yes to our wedding I genuinely almost cry because after my parents told me they weren't coming I got so anxious no one would come because like. if my parents didn't want to make the effort, why would anyone else?
