i cannot possible understate the importance of the Skyrim shrine of Azura in my being hooked into the world of it all. I mean, of course, there's dragons and a magic system and I can beat up bandits and learn about the lore. But also, like, that shrine? Going up to it because I had a quest marker for it I didn't even remember getting? (probably got it from the dunmer walking on the road and just missed what he said) It was huge, it was a towering statue in the blizzardy mountains with one lone woman worshiping and tending it. It was like... oh. There's not just magic, there's PRESENCE, yknow? Something just hit just right about that statue, and the music, and the snow, and I knew I was never gonna be able to let this world go. I always say that Sheogorath and Hermaeus Mora are my favorite daedric lords, and that's true, but Azura's shrine in Skyrim is the best shrine to me. Forever. I can't fully explain it, I don't really have the words, I never have the words for much, but man...

I think the most healing aspect of reya’s four day shifting detox has not only been renewing my belief in the fact that shifting is real, but also healing the younger versions of myself that became “too attached” or “too obsessive” over “fictional” media.

truly believing in shifting has given me not only part of that childlike wonder for what’s yet unknown back, but the assurance that I’m not crazy for always having been so connected to things that aren’t of the 3D plane. back then, I was a kid who found comfort in the “fictional” and was shamed for having characters of comfort. and now? that little girl gets to go places she once only ever dreamed of.
