it takes a really long time to unlearn but there's no such thing as "cheating" or "half-assing" being a person. if you need to leave the cabinet doors open, leave them open. microwave your tea. sit down in the shower. buy the eggmaker. use your phone to calculate tip.

it's mostly fake posterity rules. who cares if you microwave your dinners. who cares if you use instant coffee. who cares if you stop watching the show that got boring. we all have a different set of skills and a different life and taking care of yourself is fucking hard.

at the end of your life there will be no final scoreboard. nobody is going to judge you because you brushed your teeth in the shower. there will be no final count of the number of times you had the same meal five nights in a row. there will be no fanfare or party because you won at being a person - and no one will be disappointed that you never understood the point of using paper towels to dry your hands off after washing them.

yeah, in this world, people will put up a fuss. i've noticed some of the biggest fusses are over what you'll put in/on your body. the fact that i will regularly eat deli meat straight out of the bag makes a lot of people genuinely concerned for me. but here's the thing: sometimes that's the only way i'm getting any protein. my doctor says i am doing fine. i'm sticking to my weird snacks and calling it deconstructed charcuterie.

they'll say they're horrified because you take a shortcut. that's fine. it's just that it looks like a shortcut to them because they're on a different life path. these kinds of things stand out to them as important. that's fine too. but for you? you've got other things that already make you pretty hard working. and these tiny things - well, they're just clutter on your journey.

AU where Phoenix is just slightly more spiritually sensitive so instead of just being able to hear Mia's ghost, he gets to hang out with his great great (x?) grandfather Ryuunosuke who imprinted on him the moment he decided to become a defense attorney for gay reasons.

#im being serious btw. the sauce to rice ratio is very important and sacred to me #whenever i eat at home i get to choose how much sauce i can have with my rice because i dont like absolutely dousing it but i still wanna b #able to taste it yanno. i dont do well with slippery/saucy foods and ive given up trying to understand it. it might be a sensory thing #i am so sorry to admit this on the soup website but i cant handle thick/chunky sauces or curry. forgive me #the worst part is that i actually can handle and even enjoy some like caldereta and congee. but its so hard to tell people ill eat this but #not that.. its embarassing because it feels like im making exceptions. which i am!! because its preference!! but alas #but anyway with the sauce scale. i was thinking it would be nice to include a scale for how much sauce you want with a dish #rather than just skirting away from a food because you feel like you cant handle the texture or feel unsure about it #sauce could be adjustable without completely changing the recipe so it would be more like a matter of quantity or serving size #also i feel like i can make cool names for the scale. like “light drizzle” to “sauceageddon” #im asian so when i eat sauce i pair it with rice and it works because the rice kind of cancels out or makes the sauce more tolerable for me #with caldereta i make it an even 50/50 because i can taste it in the rice without the texture getting in the way #but with pasta and sauce its normally 1/3 sauce because the pasta normally isnt enough to cancel it out #i also grew up with relatives making fun of my eating habits and i really really hate eating at restaurants and gatherings because of it #maybe its because they want to make sure im eating right but!! you dont have to call me out for my 1/3 portion of spaghetti sauce!! damn!!! #anyway im not sure if anyone feels the same abt this and maybe its just me. but it would be really nice to have this a normal thing #without judging ppl for their eating habits and preferences. on god #yapping #food ment #EDIT: ASKING FOR SAUCE ON THE SIDE. so... spotify wrapped is out. i've received an ask about music before that i still haven't answered (because yes i am doing a full song comic... lmao) but music is actually an extremely big part of me/my storytelling. so!!

okay regardless of any possible relationships with the batch, phee and hondo definitely know each other carnally

probably they were young lovers and then too career-focused (piracy and treasure-hunting) for a committed relationship and too intense at each other for cohabitation but they're best fucking friends and whenever they meet they drink and hook up and gossip and it's like they've never been apart

there's been a couple times they've been after the same thing and they take turns "betraying" each other it's always a big thing and hondo's gang always has space popcorn ready. they're both theater kids at heart, but hondo's the more dramatic actor while phee's more subtle, but there's always plenty of banter and an inevitable witty one-liner as they sail away with the treasure. one time there was a duel with actual swords

and I'm not saying there's a weequay/human ohnaka/genoa kid/teen out there either adopted by some suburban family who has no idea what to do with this chaos child but fully supports them or taken under hondo's metaphorical wing as his loyal miniature second in command who is absolutely not allowed in any sort of dangerous situation until they're truly and properly an adult what does he look like a criminal? but I'm not not saying that either
