ZHONGLI - is like having a housewife

You either wake up with him or wake up to him making food. When you wake up with him, you would most likely be either in the same position as you slept or moved a little and changed how you face him and the other side. He definitely isn't a mover when asleep. And when he hugs you when you both fall asleep, you're not getting out hun. So he's probably the one keeping you from falling out of the bed or moving too much if you move too much when you sleep. When you don't wake up with him though, you wake up to the smell of tea. He's a morning person I bet, wakes up really early and prepares tea and food, whichever you like. He'd be wearing a cute apron if you decide to play with him, but he'd most likely still wear it. On most days, he'll wake you up wearing that cute apron and help you freshen up, but on some days, especially when you seem upset or something bad happened or when you had a disagreement, he'll bring you breakfast in bed. If you have work, he's never gonna let you sleep in. He's a personal alarmclock you can't turn off, those '5 more minutes' won't work on him. He might just consider it but when time's up, it's up. When he wakes up, he'd already be preparing tea and yoir clothes. Zhongli is the type to remember your schedule, too, so don't even think about telling him you don't have work just so you could sleep in. So waking up with him is definitely like a housewife, or a mom.

CHILDE - is a mission

Man, this guy is very busy, so he tends to make it up when sleeping. You cannot tell me he doesn't have certain issues regarding having a romantic partner, like safety issues or something. His grip's harder than rock, girly. He's the one to be really afraid of you getting taken away when he's sleeping so he unconciously does this while hugging you to sleep. Why am I talking about this? Cuz you aren't getting out of his arms that easy when you wake up hugged by him. When you get out of your dazing state and decide you're hungry or want to go to the toilet, you'll move and realize, oh, you have fucking iron tied to your body, oh actually, it's just Childe! And when you begin to struggle to get out, he wakes up and them boom, it just gets harder from that especially when he's on break or vacation. This man's not letting you go easily. Tell him to let go? No, he's comfortable this way. Tell him you need to go to the toilet? Oh, you can hold it for a few more minutes. Tell him you're hungry? You won't die not getting to eat for a few minutes. Tell him you're going to get sleepy again if you don't get up? Then sleep and cuddle with him again. Tell him you have work? You aren't going to get kicked out from being late for a day (it's like this everyday) (you aren't getting fired because harbinger things). Tell him he has work? Considers it but his subordinates won't die from him being a few minutes late. The best option is to either kick him in the balls and run or give up and hug him for a few minutes (hours). So yeah, waking up with him is a mission.

WANDERER - is cute

SO AAAAAAAAAAAA let's calm down. You know how he probably gets nightmares when he sleeps? YEAH THOSE ABANDONMENT ISSUES AND ALL. He'd probably be the type to unconciously hug you when he's having them. Then you'll wake up to him shaking or scared and you wake him up. I feel like others think he'd get all embarassed and shit when he notices he hugged you and get all defensive and tsundere mode, but I like to think that if he really trusts you enough, him waking up from a nightmare beside you would be an intimate moment. Hell, him even sleeping beside you is. You would have to be someone he really trust and all to get him to sleep beside you and be vulnerable. So when he wakes up you get all emotional scenes and everything and you definitely cuddle to sleep. And when you wake up it'll be sooooo cuteee. Like, you'd be waking up to him all cuddly to you and you could admire his pretty face without seeing him scowl or frown. This guy is legit gorgeous and beautiful, who wouldn't want a chance to stare at him when he doesn't want to hurt you for it. So as those kinds of nights happen, his body would probably unconciously get used to the feeling of holding someone for comfort and it turns normal. MAAAAAAN WAKING UP WITH HIM IS CUTE.

KAZUHA - is romantic

Now this man will normalize butterflies on your stomach every morning. Oh, just you opening your eyes and seeing him staring and smiling at you. AAAAAAAAA got my heart falling and falling! You'd either wake up to him like that, or you'd wake up to him probably making a poem with you as his muse. Imagine Kazuha making you his muse. Be happy bitch. He'd definitely br the type to see you wake up, say goodmorning and all those sweetly sickening shit that gets your head spinning, heart rocking, and stomach tingling. Like, he's be whispering, "Goodmorning, love." I'D FALL ASLEEP AND WAKE UP ALL OVER AGAIN TO HEAR HIM SAY IT. When he realizes you're still dozing off, he'd place his hand on your back as support and sit you down so you wouldn't fall asleep again. But when you say you still want to sleep and cuddle how could he resist. So he's there listening to your requests and brushing your hair with his fingers. A true gentleman he is. Dreamy Kazuha is everything. Waking up with him is romantic, the best kind.

TIGHNARI - is comfortable

Imagine waking up with his tail and arms around you, awwww. That tail looking very cuddly and all. Although, it would probably be hot when it's like, summer summer and all, but when the weather's fine, oh, seriously, who would want to get out of his cuddles in the morning? You'd get to admire his pretty face and feel his fluffy tail. Cuddling with tighnari is probably very sweet too, like, he'd go along with you wrapping every limb you can to him, arms, legs, and all, and he's do the same just to get back, but it ends up with the both of you sleeping that way and waking up that way. As long as it's not too hot, waking up with him would feel very comfortable. I don't think he keeps a too strict schedule like others think he does. He probably allows himself to lay down for a bit, so when he wakes up, you both don't immeduately get up and just lay down there cuddling and when your systems start waking up, you'd start talking about random things until you both decide to get up.

• Brave of you to assume that she is not a yandere in the canon, that is, she has all the points to follow for her character to be a yandere, especially a delusional yandere

• sad past with traumatic events, no friends, position of power, no one contradicts her, she gets lost in her own fantasies, lives in her own reality and obsesses over a person beyond what is sanely possible, yeah she checks all the marks 

• But, she would only become obsessed with her romantic interest if he has a very specific personality (for example, Luffy)

• Ok, let's say that the key for her to fix her eyes on you is that you have heroic tendencies, that is, she likes people with a good heart, willing to do what others would consider crazy in order to help others. the others (such as hitting a Tenryūbito, better yet, killing one)  

• or just a very kind person with a great charisma, very positive mind but who doesn't take shit from anyone

• if things happened naturally, I'm pretty sure Hancock would be obsessed with a woman, Luffy is an exception to the rule (call it the power of the script thanks to being the protagonist of the series)

would still want to marry you eventually, but isn't going to push it too much until you start bringing it up too (doesn't wanna scare you off before he can put a ring on it y'know?)

he does try to keep in mind that you're a living being and do not have the limits of a dead person but he forgets sometimes ):

it’s not just with you, he gets jealous of people who get close to lydia and 'threaten' his position as best friend, he gets jealous of any work friends of charles’ who come round to view the house, it comes from his fear of being abandoned and you’re all working on ways to healthily navigate those feelings with him

he’s not perfect, and neither is anyone else, and it does sometimes feel like he’s not making any progress, but then you remember when he almost ripped someone’s heart out their chest because they winked at you a few months ago and how now he’d just growl loudly at them, and you realise that he is making progress with it, just slowly

he thinks it's absolutely hilarious if you got jealous over someone flirting with him though (do not let him know, you'll never hear the end of it)

it’s something he’s worked on a lot since lydia summoned him back to their house, he didn’t want to risk being banished back to the netherworld again

people flirting with you or someone being mean to lydia is the quickest way to get his hair flushing red and his self-control straining

he does try, but he’s a demon, there’s only so much he can do that doesn’t go against his very nature

it really cemented that you actually like him and wanted to be around him, it was a very emotional experience for him

he speaks about it fondly to the others (and then he goes into graphic detail about what happened afterwards and that’s when the others have to cover their ears)

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

extremely protective of the whole family and the house, all of you know if anyone ever tried to break in, he'd probably kill them

the clones are helpful for that, he can always have a clone keeping an eye on things if he's away or otherwise occupied (plus adam and barbara can't leave so there's always someone there)

he likes to spend most of his time with either you or lydia, but sometimes he does have to go to netherworld for business and that's when he starts getting antsy

his hair'll be a mix of purple and yellow before he goes and no amount of reassurance can get it to change back to green

he tries to come home as quickly as possible, and if he’s going to be away from a while he will try and insist that you stay with the Deetz-Maitlands so you’re all together

he tries his best but dates are not gonna sink in for him, he'll try for special occasions but small things like the first time you kissed or something are just not gonna stick in his head

he gave you a baby sandworm once, it destroyed one of the walls in your house and he wasn't allowed in your apartment until the wall was fixed

he’s not clean. at all.

even when he’s washed (which is done rarely) he still smells like he’s just been buried

you’ve taken to filling your house with scented candles and incense sticks to try and offset the smell but it doesn’t cover it completely

air freshener spray downs when he first appears are pretty common for you, you go through at least a bottle a week

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

lol have you seen this man, he’s absolutely not (apart from his hair)

it’s taken time but he will shower now!! he hates it but will do it (also if you say you’ll wash his hair he’ll only grumble rather than full-on complain about it)

is very picky about who touches his hair, says it takes him forever to get it to look like that (you've watched him stick his fingers into a plug socket to shock himself so it'll stand up so you doubt that)

you know he can wear different clothes to his suit but it's very rare that he actually does so (when you first got him to shower he did so in the suit, it was...an experience)

he likes it if you wear his suit though 👀👀😉

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

yes but also no? he's a demon, he was alive way before you were born and will be alive long after your natural death, so in that way he wouldn't because he's already been him

on the otherhand yes, he would feel incomplete, you're the first breather to ever make him feel more than lust, it does worry him what will happen when you die (but also y'know when you die you can be together forever!! won't that be fun!!)

he doesn't worry too much about what you dying will mean for your relationship, right now he's just keeping it at the back of his mind

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

animals seem to really like him oddly enough

he prefers animals on the creepier side but it’s funny watching random animals just approach him when he’s outside

he says he can understand them, though none of you know if he’s serious or if he’s joking about it

you have overheard him speaking to a pigeon as though he was mid-conversation with it when he thought no one was there but the jury’s out on it

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

the deetz-maitland household are very important to him, if you don't get on with them on a serious level it would be an issue for him

there’s accommodation of any disagreements but if either party had a serious issue with the other it would make him very anxious about a future with the partner, especially if the relationship is still fairly new

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

he sometimes starts floating when he falls asleep, so good luck if you were cuddling him!

you have woken up in the night several times to find yourself on the ceiling, no it never gets any less terrifying, yes he finds it hilarious when you frantically wake him up cause you’re terrified of falling back to the ground

can and does sleep like a dead man, he’s grumpy if he’s woken up before he’s actually done sleeping (charles once tried to get him out of bed for a house meeting on etiquette, it didn’t go well and charles won’t talk about the incident)

he falls asleep in the weirdest places sometimes, lydia has a growing collection of photos of him in increasingly weird places

some more ticci toby headcanons

once again consider this a headcanon salad i'm still figuring out how to format these

- in my canon he's from minnesota. he just feels like a minnesotan

- also in my canon he lives in a shoddy little abandoned cabin in the woods (header image is along the lines of what i think it would look like). the mansion still exists he just chooses not to reside there cus he'd much rather have his own space that he can control

- never has the big lights on in his house cus it makes him crazy. instead there's just headless lamps/lanterns/candles strewn all over

- best believe the place is messy as shit. imagine if a 16 year old boy was allowed to be a homeowner. yea pretty fucking vile right

- his place just smells like raw wood and weed you walk in it just slaps you in the face

- all of his clothes have that vague cigarette smell on them

- he smells like pinecones and wet soil (on a good day)

- thinks axe masks the fact that he hardly showers unfortunately

- also thinks just using mouthwash is the same as brushing your teeth unfortunately

- honestly he's just super shit at taking care of himself, especially since his body lacks the tools to queue him in on some stuff

- like how cipa causes him not to feel hunger. he can't recognize when he's hungry so he often goes way too long between meals

- he has a little notebook where he keeps track of when he eats. it's meant to help him know when he should eat something but he consistently forgets to keep up with it

- he just isn't equipped with any of the tools necessary to take care of himself, both physically and mentally. he's in pretty bad shape, some extra help would probably do him good

- realistically with how much he disregards self-preservation he'd be fucking dead by now so he isn't entirely helpless. he knows he's accident-prone so he keeps first aid shit with him at all times, he knows blood means bad and that he should probably stop what he's doing that is making the blood happen, he knows to scan over himself every once in a while to check for unnoticed injuries and such, etc etc.

- cus of the gaping gash in his cheek he has to eat foods that are compatible with his disfigurement. he also always has to drink through a straw

- he does not like waffles. he does like pancakes however

- interestingly those with cipa have a lower sensitivity to capsaicin so he eats spicy stuff like a fuckin CHAMP. someone gave him one of those samyang noodles to try yk the one that's hot as BALLS and he was just like "i mean yea it's good"

- he's kind of just always covered head to toe with bandages. i think he'd have an excoriation (skin picking) disorder so he HAS to keep his arms and hands wrapped up, otherwise he'll just obsessively pick/bite/gnaw at his skin

- the rest of his body is perpetually scattered with bandaids and such on account of how scraped up he gets just being himself

- on the night of The Incident he got caught up in the fire. flaring up his chest and a section of the left side of his body are burn scars. there are a conglomerate of reasons as to why toby doesn't like to have his shirt off in front of ANYBODY and that's just one of them

- his motor tics tend to be on the more violent side (throwing things, hitting himself, hitting others, etc). however, he's learned how to sort of guide his tics from being one thing to another if that makes sense? idk i'm speaking from my own experience here and tics are a really difficult thing to put into words but like. if he can tell he's about to throw the thing that's in his hand he'll take that feeling and try to turn it into something smaller, so instead of throwing the thing a less destructive tic will occur instead. if any of that made sense

- more often than not he's got an earbud in or his headphones on listening to music. he finds that it makes it much easier for him to make his way through the world. that and when he's listening to music he's noticed that he hardly ever tics (usually) so yk that's also a bonus

- spends a lot of his time climbing trees and hanging out in them. also spends a lot of his time trying to make friends with the animals of the forest. he's gotten a lot better at knowing how to approach raccoons and possums and stuff. he likes to leave food out for birds and squirrels and such

- it's funny because he tries to be this hard-ass dude but as soon as he spots a deer he becomes the most gentle thing on earth in that moment. he'd probably grab your shoulders whispering all like "oh dude deer- shhh shh" and force you to crouch with him and stuff lmao

- he's dubbed the one rabbit in those woods that isn't afraid of him "dandy warhol". yea he's real good with names

- he leaves food trails for dandy that lead to his house because he thinks that's how people get pets. he does not realize he's also leading every other animal in that forest to his home

- he may be stupid .

Welcome Home Bug Infestation Theory!

A lot of people (including me) think that something is up with Home, but I wanna introduce an alternate theory or idea because we're probably barely 1/8th of the way into the story and it's probably foolish to come to conclusions SO early.

This year's update to the Welcome Home website included a plethora of new content, including random gifs of cute little bugs! However, I started to get an idea...

A sudden infestation of bugs? In a studio that has been suddenly abandoned for seemingly no reason, with the official description of the project being "You are to accompany a colorful cavalcade of puppets as their beloved neighborhood begins to skew and distort into a nightmarish memory that they can barely recall." It feels like a recipe for disaster because there are a plethora of bugs that eat fabric like felt which is essentially THE PUPPETS' SKIN.

This is a carpet beetle. They are notorious for eating fabric, hence the name "carpet" beetle, and if you leave a bunch of stuffed animals or cloth in a corner to rot for a bit you'll be sure to find a bunch of their larvae stuck on them. Needless to say, they'd give The Neighborhood a bunch of trouble!

Here's some of the bugs from the website. While they're super cute and super stylized (actual bugs aren't this adorable), I can't help but think that they kinda resemble carpet beetles just a TEENY bit. Not a lot though, but there's more bugs than carpet beetles that eat fabric, like moths, cockroaches, silverfish, and even crickets!

While I don't know if the images on the About page are considered canon anymore, there's a lot of emphasis on decay in the background. While yes, Wally looks threatening, notice the lack of blood on his hands. He might just be a bystander. But there's also a trend of Wally perhaps putting the puppets back together. Huh. Also there's artwork of Frank, the residential bug lover, holding what looks like a censored letter, something that's associated with his love interest, Eddie, the mailman. In the clips on the website, Eddie is implied to do deliveries for Howdy, who basically sells everything to everyone. Frank would be curious and love the bugs, but if they're harmful or parasitic, they'd spread EASILY.

And Home might be as well. In the final recording, Barnaby and Home are talking about their day and joking around until they notice Wally acting weird. Home makes noises when Barnaby is asking if Wally is ok, but they don't seem to sound as threatening as they sounded in the beta clip of Wally singing to them on the first website. They seem a bit concerned as well. Maybe Home isn't intending to be bad, maybe that picture of Wally looking up to Home's eye isn't just Home keeping Wally stuck inside...

Maybe they're keeping something out. Maybe The Neighborhood got infested and Home, who presumably has control over keeping the doors and windows closed due to them being a part of Home, can probably keep Wally hostage to an extent if everyone else were infested, and maybe that's where the "isolation" part of the TWs on the About page comes in.

Maybe that's why Wally's posing with a headless Barnaby. He probably loses it after being "protected" by Home and discovers the replicas or backups of his puppet friends and tries to "fix" them.

That, and Wally's emphasis on having "more eyes than he used to" is interesting when bugs come into play. While people have connected it to the rush of fanart of Wally, what if this can mean something else? Maybe Wally found puppet back-ups of him or...he's talking about bugs that can also have more than two eyes, especially if there's swarms of them.

Hello there! This isn’t a request, but a brainrot of mine. Before that lemme say it will have major spoilers for Jojolion;

I don’t why but out of all the jofoes, Pucci and Toru are the ones who scares me the most especially if we consider them as yanderes (which is not that far off. One is born without knowing unconditional love, seeing he was abandoned the moment he was born by his mother— and the closest thing to a mother or love he had is a wasp, which he didn't hesitate to eat if it meant his survival—which may or may not be the reason for his parasitic lifestyle. While the other could not accept that fate that his sister was dealt and was willing to go the extremes).

Both of them are hella manipulative, and are quite natural at pulling the string with their darling. So much so, I very much doubt that their darling suspect anything about them, until It’s too far late for them to do anything about it. It doesn't help that they both work in a philanthropic jobs; ones a priest, the other as a doctor/nurse. So asking for help against them would only make onlookers doubt your words as mere accusations.

Since I see these two in particular to gradually isolate their darling from the world under the premise of their greater good —They are hella selfish, one denies it (Pucci) and the other is apathetic towards it even if he knows it's wrong (Toru)—and ensure that that they are completely dependant on them. That way they could never leave them. It's quite ironic how both Pucci and Toru share the same fear when it comes to their darling; That being the fear of their beloved leaving/replacing them.

With Toru, I can see him using his position as head doctor to access sedatives and using it on his darling if they’re were particularly antsy that day (Only as a last resort, if he could not sweet talk them). Medical yanderes are scary in general—looking at you Secco and Cioccolata in particular— due to many things like their access to their darling private information and drugs.

I can,also, see that both their obsession pass on their stands too.

With Whitesnake, I see it being privy about his user’s beloved memories (I see Pucci using WS to manipulate his darling’s memories to his benefit. Push them closer to him, it's not like they lost a significant memory or anything. Ngl, It is a terrifying thought. Imagine a strange priest proclaiming that he is your spouse and you can't remember if it was true or anything).

With Wonder of U, the moment that Toru goes into his sleep cycle—like most rock humans do (Darling be like: Finally I can escape him afterall 🥳. WoU: You sure about that? 🤨)—He would tail his user’s darling to ensure that they don't leave Morioh at all by sabotaging their escape attempts. Oh, you want to use the airport to escape? Too bad, the the plane suddenly exploded due to some technical issues. The port? Too bad, unexpectedly a tsunami had struck it drowning whatever available ships there is.

His tailing doesn't stop at preventing his user’s darling at escaping, but also at ensuring that they don't enter into another relationship or/and seek help from let say other people. WoU won't hesitate to goad said people into pursuing him, so they could vanish under mysterious circumstances.

At some point, the darling would stop engaging with people as the guilt eats their mind. Thinking they were cursed.. After all, no matter where they go death—freaky accidents—follow them unaware of the presence of WoU (Which canonically one of it’s ability is to disguise itself. Imagine it disguising itself as one of the darling’s relative, maybe like their grandfather and the darling is none the wiser to it 💀) under their nose making sure that they stay with Toru at all cost. They'll be all alone. After all, they are meant to be together with him and Toru.

Sorry if I prolonged, hahaha: It’s just there’s little content for Jojolion and I have a brainrot for it.. 😅

First off your brainrot is absolutely amazing here, like I’ve read this a few times over and mulled on it before finally making a response. I welcome all and any Jojolion brainrot, it’s one of my favorite parts.

I feel it’s accurate to say both Toru and Pucci would both be extremely terrifying, Yandere. Everything you put down pretty much summarizes what I think as well.

Just imagine having the use of WoU against you, calamity, disguise or otherwise on top of that being around sedatives (and knowing how to administer) is a whole different level of terrifying.

I’ll at least say it’s terrifying being “trapped” by either of those circumstances, You’re practically helpless. Probably one of the more scary types of horror/Yandere in my opinion.

Do you have any theories about how Illumi's needle worked on Killua? I've seen some people saying that they didn't like the needle being the reason of Killua's insecurities, but imo the needle used Killua's fear and insecurities as a trigger to make him run, whether that fear was about fighting someone stronger than him or the fear of failing to help/protect Gon, those were his true feelings and the needle would just trigger Illumi's command of running away, that's why when fighting the bomber, even though he himself admits that Sub had a higher aura capacity than him the needle didn't affect him, since he was confident he would win after all the planning he did, I also think that the effects of the needle were stronger when facing manipulators, cuz the aura felt similar to Illumi's, like when he fought Zushi and Shoot.

Hello anon! These are great observations--I especially like what you pointed out at the end about the needle's effects being particularly strong against Manipulators, as that's a point I hadn't considered! You're right that those are both fights where he was particularly perturbed and it's interesting (and I'm sure intentional) that they're both Manipulators like Illumi. We're not given much detail about the needle and what it did exactly in canon, so these are all just my best guesses based on what we've seen.

I agree that the mechanics of the needle likely involved using Killua's fear and anxiety to trigger the order from Illumi to run. That's why as long as he's confident and not worried about being able to win, it's not an issue, but as soon as he starts getting concerned about his chances against a particular opponent, the command takes over.

I think likely the needle was something Silva and Illumi (possibly with Kikyo's input as well) discussed and agreed on, probably to try to temper Killua's rebelliousness and keep him safe, as the family's chosen future heir. Actually, I wonder if the needle may have been placed before Killua was sent to Heaven's Arena for training, as that could be an extra failsafe to stop him from fighting opponents there that were beyond his ability to handle. I also wonder about the timing of when Alluka was locked up. While Killua was at Heaven's Arena would have been convenient timing for that to happen, especially if part of the needle's purpose was to get him to forget her... I don't recall canon giving us exact timing for this, but it would make sense. It's possible there's something in canon that contradicts this, but I can't think of anything offhand. This could have even been partly why Killua was sent to Heaven's Arena for so long for training in the first place, to separate and disconnect him from Alluka so the family could figure out what to do with her without Killua interfering.

Anyway, to restate more clearly, I think the needle likely has these functions:

Keep Killua from fighting those who are beyond his ability to handle -- This serves two purposes I think, the first of which is to keep him from rebelling against family members, and the second is to keep him from fighting opponents who could kill or permanently maim him, while still allowing him to train and kill as needed.

Get him to forget about Alluka so the family can decide what to do with her without Killua's input and emotional attachment to her getting in the way.

But, I think the needle may have failed to prevent his rebellion because at the point he left, he was potentially already stronger than some of his family members and wasn't afraid to attack them (remember, he attacked and injured Kikyo and Milluki when he left--they both seem like they could be less powerful than a growing Killua). Also, the family severing his tie to Alluka gave him less motivation to stay in the first place.

Silva and Illumi see the needle as an assurance that he will return eventually once he does rebel and flee. The needle makes it incredibly likely that Killua will abandon his friends in a dangerous situation and betray them, hence the promise Silva makes with Killua when he allows him to leave. Silva trusts Killua will break the promise and learn from this experience that friendship will always end badly, so it's better to just give up, come home, and be the heir to the family business they've set him up to be.

(There's also a story in one of the novels about Killua raising a puppy named Wolf and Silva eventually convincing Killua to kill Wolf, which supports this kind of conclusion. Just a warning that the description of this story and the other stories in the post I linked are pretty awful and may be triggering.)

It's actually interesting to view the situation with Pitou and Kite through this lens--in that instance, Killua did get overwhelmed with the opponents' power and grabbed Gon and fled. While I don't see this as a betrayal and it was ultimately the right thing to do under that extreme circumstance, his promise with Silva likely intensified Killua's emotions around the situation, and the fact that he did flee and leave Kite behind made Killua even more prone to take Bisky's words about eventually leaving Gon behind to die seriously. I think this situation is especially hard for Killua with how Gon is ultimately affected by the aftereffects of leaving Kite behind (no matter how much Gon refuses to blame Killua for this)... I'm sure this is at least one factor in him leaving Gon, ultimately.

Another thing to consider is that people (including me) have long wondered why Killua wasn't taught about nen prior to leaving the Zoldyck manor. If the needle was partially intended to keep him from rebelling against the family, it's possible if he had access to nen he'd be even harder to control and the needle wouldn't be able to stop him from rebelling against weaker members of the family. They may have been waiting to teach him nen until they felt they had him under better control and broke his willpower down. They also may have wanted him to master all other basics before introducing nen to him. The needle could have even been an aspect of that--if he's not fighting much stronger opponents than him, he's less likely to be exposed to nen before they can teach it to him with whatever timing they had planned.

I know some people consider the needle bad writing. I do wish it had been more heavily foreshadowed in the series before he pulled it out, but I also think the needle makes sense on a few different levels when you think it over carefully. And, while pulling it out does free Killua to fight whoever he wants and remember that Alluka is waiting for him, as we see in the series it's not as though it erases his trauma or difficulties caused by his past.

As Halo Wars is deep in the past of the Human/Covenant war, even before Halo CE, a pairing between Sangheili and human is forbidden.

Even more so if he's meant to kill them all.

'Moramee is known as ruthless with an insatiable bloodlust.

He's quick to anger and has a temper.

The moment he hesitates in killing you upon your first meeting... rage builds within him and tears him apart from the inside.

He's harmed humans, Unggoy, and Sangheili alike in his rage...

Why does he hesitate on a human!?

The Prophets demand your execution!

He's a savage beast even in Sangheili terms.

He knows nothing but anger and rage.

'Moramee has never had his own rage directed towards himself.

He likes victory.

The Sangheili had tried to hunt you down when he met you.

So when he finally cornered you on Harvest he was prepared to strike.

Why did he hesitate!?

He had one of his plasma blades lifted in the air, ready to strike.

Was he distracted?

Did you distract him?

Either way he hesitated enough to be hit by gunfire from your squad of marines/spartans, the Arbiter was forced to abandon his prey.

'Moramee is thrown into an enraging conflict with himself after this.

He doesn't dare tell The Prophets.

His subordinates notice his growing rage and keep their distance.

He's a yandere that would be driven to pursue his human through the desire to end his internal conflict.

He knows humans are weak and should perish in the wake of the Covenant.

However, the fact he couldn't slaughter you haunts him.

It scares him that you, as a human, make him weak.

He's a disgrace to The Great Journey....

He hates the fact you make him weak.

He doesn't even consider the idea of love... even if that may be what he's feeling yet can't understand it.

'Moramee loathes the idea of loving a human.

His moral and religious conflict make him volatile towards his own crew.

They already tremble before him.

Now when they hear him mutter to himself and roar in rage, they start to dread him pulling out his weapons.

If/When 'Moramee eventually tries to hunt you down again then he tries to do your abduction alone.

He can't have his crew find out about his true intentions with you.

Intentions he dreads but has to accept if he wants to regain his focus.

'Moramee intends to slaughter anyone he feels he needs to in order to solve his issue.

Expect him to send a small group of troops to remove your group.

Despite the order to kill your group and any humans they find aiding them, 'Moramee describes your appearance and gives the order to spare you.

Spare... something that baffles both the Sangheili himself and his troops.

He was not one to spare.

However, in a way you can view his true intentions as not sparing

His troops knew better than to question the Arbiter's judgment.

The order was sent... then executed like your team.

'Moramee awaits the fallout of the skirmish.

By the end of it you're standing in the middle of corpses making up your team.

Your skin sizzles around your wound, a plasma burst being the cause of your agony.

His troop had withdrawn and left you there, a wound to your leg and you gasping for breath in fear... and pain.

So much pain.

Once his troops relay back to the extraction point, 'Moramee stalks closer before wrapping his hand around your throat and decloaking.

Shock and fear paralyze you, the recent trauma of watching your friends die still fresh in your mind.

Along with the blood from their demise still staining your skin.

"You..."

The Sangheili growls, tightening his grip.

He could easily snap your neck.

"A human such as you should be killed for The Great Journey! You've ruined me!"

Upon your struggling 'Moramee and you most likely engage in one-sided combat...

It's enough to make the Arbiter vent his rage.

The entire time he curses you.

Every bruise... broken bone... he deals it to you for a purpose you don't understand.

'Moramee fights with you to try and clear you from his head.

You're fighting him to survive at least a little while longer.

By the time it ends there's barely a scratch on his armor.

Your breathing is painful due to your heavily wounded body.

You can only stare at the Sangheili attacker whose orange eyes burn with confused anger.

You swore you saw the rage flicker into regret for a moment before he snarls again and picks you up.

Your body is so fragile in his arms while he drags you back to the extraction point.

Due to shock trauma you pass out in the Arbiter's arms.

To make a point to his troops (and keep up an act) he holds your limp body by the neck before his troops.

A message that humans will fall by his hands for The Prophets.

When you awake you're laying in some sort of cell on Harvest.

All except you.

Cheers congratulate him... even when it doesn't feel like a victory to him.

Your neck and everything hurts.

However you notice you've been treated... albeit clumsily.

Covenant know nothing about human anatomy.

It confuses you why they bothered to treat you.

You squint through your cell, you had been brought into a captured facility from what you could tell, repurposed to be a jail for the Covenant.

Your blood freezes when the Arbiter who fought you before enters the room.

"You are my secret from all the rest."

He stands in front of you, orange eyes glaring at you in hate.

"You are my only failure as an Arbiter. The human I can't kill. You are something that's tormented my focus for far too long. I never gave a damn about honor. However... you are a stain on my reputation I can't get rid of if the truth comes out."

"What truth, you ugly bastard... why do they care if I'm kept here?"

The Arbiter is silent... as if dreading the reasoning for your capture.

"Really now?"

"... my orders are to kill all humans. To slaughter humanity for the sake of The Prophets... and I can't kill you!"

He's seething, each word strained.

"I don't know why so I intend to keep you in secret. My troops don't dare question me. They fear me... which I will use to my advantage."

"Soft for your enemy now all of a sudden? My team would've laughed at a Sangheili's mercy if they weren't dead."

The Arbiter only glares at you and you see his hands clench.

"Watch your tone...."

"Or you'll kill me?"

With a frustrated scream of rage the Arbiter leaves the room.

Not only could he not kill you...

It's deserved but frustrates him all the same.

You taunt him.

He isn't sure what he was expecting.

You to be scared of him?

You to be over the death of your allies so quickly?

Was he expecting you to show something comforting to him?

He shakes his head and gnashes his mandibles.

He had a lot to learn about you.

He was never this invested in humans.

Yet after mission after mission on Harvest for relics to appease The Prophets, he found himself back in front of that holding cell.

The troops on guard cowered at his gaze.

What he wanted with you was none of their business.

The Arbiter struggled to understand why he kept holding onto this human.

His rage at your existence used to be hot enough to glass a planet on its own.

He continuously stood in front of your cell to chat, asking questions and learning how to keep you alive.

Learning about you in general even if your species was to be destroyed.

Each talk brought it down to a smolder.

You always hated him but your hostility also lessened with time.

Those who caught wind of his talks between you were quickly ended.

An Unggoy or Kig-Yar heard something they shouldn't have?

They're left at the Arbiter's mercy.

A Sangheili? 'Moramee threatens them into submission or sinks his plasma sword deep into their gut.

He wonders if you care he kills for you?

You're special enough to not only gain the Arbiter's mercy, but his casual discussion and attention.

Denial still burns deep inside him.

Despite this... acceptance is a quiet thought in his mind.

Each time he looks at you in the cell... he remembers both failure and discovery.

Was he simply exhausted?

He was starting to care for you like a fellow Sangheili... and he wasn't sure if he still hated it or not.

Perhaps he vented all his anger about you for weeks on end... leaving only forced acceptance.

He would laugh at this... his ego shattered and behavior pitiful.

He couldn't bring himself to do it.

Whenever he looked at you he saw his biggest failure of all...

Him feeling companionship in a weak human heretic.

He could not be feeling adoration for you.

The idea brings a sick taste to his mouth... but a nervous and warm feeling in his chest.

The heresy of humans seemed infectious like the newly discovered Flood that threatened to taint the relics he sought after.

Ever so slightly you consumed his mind.

The Prophets wonder about his sudden distracted mind.

He assures them he is simply annoyed about the UNSC advances.

A lie... somewhat.

All to keep his human secret under lock and key.

It's gotten to a point he only ever talks to you with hesitant respect.

No one has broken his ego and mind like this.

You are certainly an anomaly in his eyes as a human.

Through his holy missions he develops other thoughts involving you.

Ones that he feels are even more of a sign of disloyalty to The Great Journey than simply sparing a human.

He's thought of releasing you.

He's thought of other things that would be considered sin among Covenant and Sangheili alike.

He's thought of how it would feel to take a moment a feel your skin.

His turmoil is at an all time high.

'Moramee coming to the conclusion that he sees you as that kind of a partner makes him sick.

The Arbiter is speechless on the topic.

His peers have claimed to see a broken look in the Sangheili's eyes when he passes by.

When asked he responds with violence.

The entire time he experiences moral turmoil, you have no clue.

You simply answer casual questions and refuse to answer anything that gives valuable information.

You speak to him with no fear or anger anymore.

You've been here too long for that.

As Harvest dies all around you, you're forced to speak casually with a leader of its downfall.

'Moramee hopes you're happy to cause him this pain...

It's only fair due to the pain he caused.

He feels there's only one way to deal with his problems.

'Moramee couldn't focus unless he got it out of his mind and system.

Rage replaced with irritation... 'Moramee makes his way to your cell.

He calls off the guards and taps at the keypad lock.

You're struck with confusion when the Arbiter enters the cell.

"Is my execution finally here?"

His alien eyes glare... but there's a hint of amusement within them.

You struggle when his much larger body shoves you against the wall... the Sangheili craning his neck to growl at you.

"Not in the way you expect, human..."

pre s12 a little '12 Knew Missy didn't betray him' headcanoning was soothing in a 'sometimes i like it when we get nice things' but that is absolutely in no way canon and the doctor genuinely believed the master abandoned him (and everybody else) to die and this belief in her betrayal is the only thing that allowed Missy to succeed in fulfilling his ideal of goodness (without hope, without witness, without reward) because if he had known, had he suspected, then what Missy did was witnessed. Them becoming friends due to her goodness voids the true sentiment of her actions. (It doesn't. According to him it does though.)

The doctor's ignorance allows that one small bubble of time to exist where the master, despite everything counting against them, all the circumstances piling up together to make it so hard for her to do it, did something Good. I mean, I disagree with his rules on goodness, but as per the rules of the story that was written, Missy does succeed. The tragedy is, of course, that they can never be friends again because of it, because in the doctor's arrogance at deciding what is good and bad with no leeway, he demands she receive no reward nor have any witnesses to her triumph (simm doesn't count, he's literally her).

When Dhawan!master arrives on scene, he tries to murder the doctor and all her friends and then rubs it in her face that he feels deep in his hearts that murder and chaos is just It for him. It's what gives him the warm fuzzies. It's what he's Meant to be doing. He also rubs it in her face that he just Doesn't Have A Good Side. This is what we call targeted manipulation as he's deliberately trying to mentally torture her (and did a great job at it, too, lets be real).

13's reaction to him in s12 is her reacting to betrayal. This is 13 thinking all their work was for nothing and the master just lied and led them on to avoid being executed and that they didn't Care about their friendship, it was all just a big ploy. A huge lie. A betrayal of the highest order because this is what the doctor wanted the most in the universe and it was just a joke to the master. It also doesn't help that he is actively lying to her face about why he's acting the way he is the entire time he's on the show.

The doctor can't actually know what they don't know. I do not claim that 12 was being anything but arrogant in s10, I agree he was, I think his absolutely flagellating views on what can and can't be considered true virtue is a great massive window into why he's the absolute pinnacle of self hatred and depression, of course he hates himself, the biggest peacock in the universe who needs an audience like he needs air actually thinks that to be a truly good person you cannot be doing it for any kind of reward or recognition. What a stunningly depressing view into his mind.

But the point is, I guess, that these two are both the stupidest idiots in the universe and peak narrative tragedy. Unable to meet in the middle (doctor's fault). Self centered reaction to discovering best enemy's tragic backstory leads to deaths of billions and a metric ton of victim blaming and false idolisation simultaneously (master's fault).

They cannot speak honestly. They will not speak honestly. There is so much going on with them both i could write a dissertation. A total mess. But The Doctor Must believe the master betrayed and abandoned them, hence 13's ignorance, because otherwise everything Missy did means nothing.

What made you don't like coco? Other than the Nazi allusion of course which is fucked. No hate btw, just curious of your opinions. I only follow RWBY proper and don't read the spinoffs, I don't give a shit about her either way.

So outside of her allusion being Coco Chanel, there are a couple of problems with Coco in the canon content of RWBY that made me think she was an over-rated character even before knowing about her allusion, reading Before the Dawn, and seeing the Chibi skits with her in them.

She told Velvet to just... not fight in season 2 when Vale was attacked by Grimm. It was a pretty serious thing where civilians could've been hurt, and it could've resulted in a much larger fight if it didn't get contained, but apparently Coco didn't care about that as much as she cared about being flashy with Velvet's weapon later for some reason.

Coco's fight with the Grimm is one of the worst fights of the first three seasons, she seemed very stationary and took like five minutes to take down one Grimm which she took her sweet time to do and like, clunkily clumsily hit it with her purse and kicked it in the crotch (which is such frat-boy humor tbh anyway.) And it was all while this really high energy song was playing and us as audience members were supposed to be like "whoa cool, look at the upperclassmen!" But like... Comparing Coco's fight to any other main character's early fights, she looks much less impressive. This wouldn't be so bad if we weren't clearly meant to think she's super cool in that moment.

Those were just a couple of small things that made me a bit annoyed with her because I just couldn't see the appeal in a character that didn't seem to take a Grimm attack seriously and then seemed to not be that good at fighting when that was like all there was to her besides a vague idea that she liked fashion and was confident, two things you could get from other characters easily.

Then there's the books. I didn't read the first one, but I read the first like fifteen chapters of Before the Dawn and tbh I thought Coco was so annoying. Here's why.

She's super judgmental towards people she doesn't even know. She basically decides she hates Sun and that he's a talentless loafer and a horrible leader the first time you ever see them interact, and every time she thinks about Sun, she takes the least generous outlook of him and is making assumptions and thinking rude things about him. She also judges a girl Reese for the way she dresses.

One of the things that Coco takes issue with in Sun was him needing help fighting off a group of like four powerful adults who he saw stalking a woman and tried to help with that to make sure she was okay, and Coco assumed he must've been like hitting on her or something? And also made fun of him for needing help instead of just beating them, which to me felt also hypocritical as well as judgmental considering we saw Coco be unable to hold her own against one teenager when she was fighting with Yatsuhashi in the Vytal Tournament, like Merc was literally running circles around them both, and then she's like 'oh the guy who went onto the finals must be so much worse than me because he can't take on four powerful adults on his own!"

She is super prideful tbh in a way that's icky for a future badge carrying law enforcement officer. Three things that come to mind is one time she stood up and people fell silent and she inwardly reflected on the fact that it felt good that people were afraid of her, another time she inwardly reflected that one of her problems with Reese was that she'd put things to a vote with her team whereas Coco just made choices and didn't need any other input, and one time she went to save a civilian and when he protested that she called him helpless Coco threatened to abandon the guy to get attacked and one of her friends proudly thought about how she was super sadistic and it was cool.

Another thing that isn't cool in a future badge carrying law enforcement officer is that Coco seemed to really detest having to follow... Any sort of rules, and in fact a 'clue' that one of her teachers was possessed or something was that the teacher was doing things like telling Coco she couldn't do things she wanted to do and didn't have the authority to just walk around doing whatever she wanted. I don't remember all the details, but there was this strong element of them not wanting accountability or rules and being frustrated every time they had to follow rules.

Also I can't remember anything specific right now, but she kind of thought some weird stuff about people from Vacuo sometimes that made me be like ??? and in the first book (though I haven't read it) she does things like name the nightvision glasses Velvet gave her 'BunnyVision' which is a yikes, and especially coupled with her Nazi allusion, it makes her venom towards Vacuo born Asian Faunus Sun seem more than a little suspicious.

So yeah, those were reasons I collected to not like Coco from the book. Then there's Chibi.

In the Chibi skits, Coco calls Velvet "Bun Bun," which just makes their already uncomfortable dynamic worse and feels very microaggression-y.

In all Coco's skits, it was painfully obvious that whoever wrote them really really REALLY wanted EVERYONE to think she was just so so so cool. Like, they read like 'everyone clapped' reddit stories, and they specifically had like 'cool' rwby characters desperately trying to be as cool as she is, and everyone was fangirling over Coco who just couldn't care less. And it was just super annoying, like the more they hype up Coco and try to convince me that she's cool, the more that I look at her stupid Nazi-themed outfit and her bad personality and go "Huh?" Like maybe instead of trying to convince me to like her, the writers should've made a better character. XD

Aaaand the last reason I don't like Coco is because she has some of the most annoying fans in the entire rwby fandom. The glorification of Coco as some girlboss queen and 'great lesbian rep' who just cannot be removed from the RWBY lineup is just wildly off the charts. One time I made this post that was like "shouldn't we want more from our queer representation than a Nazi-inspired character? Shouldn't we be trying to get Rooster Teeth to retire Coco for the sake of the Jewish fans who are rightfully uncomfortable and tell them to make Velvet openly queer so she can head this extra content instead?" And people got furious with me, and I think I might've even got death threats for that. Also, the amount of times I've seen Coco stans attack Jewish people for complaining about her being based off of a Nazi... Like the response is always "you just hate lesbians," to Jewish queer people! Also, this is less important than the antisemitism but a Coco stan once got annoyed that my sister said not only should Coco never make fun of what another girl is wearing but that it was bold coming from someone who also doesn't dress in a way that's traditionally considered fashionable, and they started picking apart my sister's fashion sense and appearance. I'm sure there are some fine people who like Coco, but on a general whole they tend to be bad news, and the venom they defend their Nazi best girl with severely put me off of the character even more than normal.

So yeah, outside of the allusion, it's a combination of her just being not well done in her first appearance and yet framed as really good, her having a bad personality in the book I read where I didn't think she was fit to be a badge carrying law enforcement officer, her Chibi skits trying to make her the coolest of the cool in a really forced way, and her fans sometimes being terrible people. XD

I've seen stans claiming issue #67 gets to take place after Frontiers and so there was a huge time skip of months based only in the fact Sonic called Amy to lunch as they apparently spend a time without meet each other (???) (Is not it some long running gag in the games that the characters can take long weeks or months to see each other again, thus being already used to this?)

But why?? Why is it so important to set this passage of time?! Do they are really desperate in make the link between games and comics? Because that really makes the comic's narrative sound and look pretty worse:

1- It would mean then that Surge and Kit has been a far more time hidding in Eggman's abandoned base than you would expect, that makes them look even more lazy losers than they already do and clash a lot more with the image of Thirsty For Revenge the comics insist in pass, since they moved NOT a finger in almost half a year (???) (Idk the exact time they want to claim and much less I care) But it makes the arguably near 0 effort of them become a surely negative effort.

2- So then, Blaze is still in vacation in Sonic's world??? Really? She just forgot her kingdom? Are the Sol Emeralds just in Sonic's world as if there was no risk of the universe to collapse (okay, that's a more overkill than what the game really states) if the Chaos Emeralds are reunited and put close to them? Just like that? As if she wasn't all afraid of get some vacantion in the start?

3- Then Mimic has already gone in missions with the DC for real, right? He's bonding with them, right? Surprisingly, there were NO real volunteers after all this time before Surge and Kit finally met Clutch, heard his plan, came to accept his conditions and just gone to the Restoration HQ by the front door, (assuming any of these step even passed by Surge's father head) right? Or, if had, then they left... Geez, guess a bossy rude bitch with a rock hard head can't be a inspiring leader after all, what a surprise, no?

4- The only positive thing of this time skip ideia is that it explains why everyone is so chill of the drooling psychic walking around as well as make no objections to him about use his powers... And why Silver is so chill after the whole fiasco... Buuuuuut, now he's acting Just Exactly the way Lanolin accused him to act when she made the scandal to kick him out the Diamond Cutters (Not only the absence of security helmets or vests, he's playing with the food of the thousands of hungry kids he meant to help, Ian Flynn, a master of self sabotage)

Now that I think about it, it's been a year since Frontiers came out and IDW still hasn't referenced it. Even considering that it takes multiple months for issues to be finalized, I'd say enough time has passed that anything Flynn and Stanley have written since, say, December 2022 has been released. So huh, not even a small reference to that talkative moon, or anything to reflect the supposed new life goal of the gang. It's like it's not canon after all :)

Anyway. Time skips in IDW are indicated. This is how we know that the camping arc takes place months after the beginning of the MV arc because the apocalypse lasted the whole winter, and how we can say that it's complete bullshit because Sonic should have been dropped dead from exhaustion. No time indication, no significant time skip. This is a moot point for me, so I don't have much to add.

Devil May Cry: Vergil's Clothes

Warning: self-indulgent headcanons and rambling to follow. Tw for very brief mentions of violence against children (this is Vergil we're talking about here and I don't think he's had a good time).

I'm thinking again about how Vergil is wrapped in so many layers of clothes. Yes Vergil being so gussied up is an aesthetic treat but why is he like this?

On that day, the day of the fire, he was attacked, stabbed to within an inch of his life and turfed out of his home - and his family, or so he thought - wearing a shirt, shorts and boots. Suitable for a life on the run and on the streets it was not. It makes sense that once he was able he would dress in sturdier clothes for travelling, fighting demons and inclement weather alike.

We don't know the details of Vergil's later childhood years but I don't think the DMC universe is so different to ours that we should assume it is different than for real vulnerable street children. (Barring the eternal threat of demons hunting the blood of Sparda - but the parallels between them and real human traffickers and perpetrators of violence - physical, mental or sexual - against children are a whole other matter to consider.)

There was some information saying he was raised in isolation or in hell but I don't think that was confirmed as canon and still lacks any kind of detail. So how did young Vergil survive? Was he taken in? It strikes me that kind of situation may not have lasted long if he was hunted... Did he find sympathisers willing to support him?... Did he steal?... Did the mighty Son of Sparda have to beg for socks and bread? What a treasure trove of humiliating memories for such a proud and haughty man, pre-packaged and ready to be used against him by anyone wishing to cause him pain (looking at you Mundus). Somehow I doubt he immediately learned how to glamour-up a new outfit a la Trish's technique without guidance but it would have been helpful.

When we see Vergil in DMC3 he is dressed for the party: that beautiful, vivid blue battle coat with its gold lining and thorns/vine motif, the snakeskin trousers and belt combo, the boots and of course the infamous ascot scarf...

However he got them, to me it feels like a statement. "I'm not hiding any more." Chin jutted out, frown between brows, you can see me and I am untouchable. You have shown me no mercy, see how strong and unforgiving I am now. Who is that message for... the demonic legions hunting him or the scared little boy who had to grow up too quickly? Denial (like many behaviours) can be a useful emotional self-defence mechanism until it takes you too far down a dangerous path and reality catches up with you.

... and despite the overt flair and flamboyance if you look past the jewel colours he's pretty well wrapped - especially if you compare his outfit with Dante's. I know I know, in his defence Dante was rudely interrupted by Arkham's invitation and jumped right into action, but even so their clothes mimic their mannerisms. Vergil's? Stoic. Upright. Inviolable. Closed off. Separate. Alone. Lonely?

We know what "clothes" Vergil wears next. Armour: dark, constricting, binding, hopeless. Eventual escape - but not rescue.

So now imagine surviving the unsurvivable only to find yourself crumbling apart from the inside, knowing no matter how many cloaks or rags you wear you can't hide this time when the monster is inside your skin. A time to mourn then, the colours muted, darker, but an attempt to reclaim "oneself" - whatever that looks like after being torn apart. The thorns return and his own colour, but not the sparkling blues that almost glowed in the darkness of Temen Ni Gru. Perhaps a more grown up outfit for a man who didn't really live through all of the years he has been alive but survived them none-the-less. Scars, tattered coat-tails and all.

V. V, V, V... who didn't initially choose the outfit he wore but seemed to choose to keep wearing it despite spending a month surrounded by abandoned clothes stores or at least homes. Surely he could have pilfered some more sensible or logical devil hunting threads, unless he felt he didn't need to. Metaphorically cloaked by the support of his nightmares, maybe? (Or maybe he felt like your average run-of-the-mill demons wouldn't be as interested in getting their claws into him - and besides, what could they possibly do to him that hadn't been done before?) Dangerous bravado for someone so physically weak, a reminder of whom he came from.

Urizen, containing Vergil's lust for power and propped up by the skills he valued at the time of his Yamato-induced schism - power and strength, physical and demonic. In self preservation and to become stronger he armoured himself with the Qliphoth tendrils and used them to take the blood of human innocents. Take, take, take. Why shouldn't he take when so much has been taken from him? His outermost armour and shield, the faithful friend he carried and was protected by throughout those formative childhood years - Yamato. He eats the Fruit and sheds the armour - why would it be necessary now? Again, he feels untouchable, unbreakable, strong (using his own somewhat limited definition of the term). He loses of course because he is incomplete - V had strength too though it manifested in different ways. The strength to overcome, the strength to do whatever it takes to survive and the strength to ask for help (although perhaps that is debatable, since he acted at times as though he thought he was in control and manipulating those foolish enough to help him).

Even after reforming as Vergil and meeting Dante atop the Qliphoth nothing seems to have changed. Of course we know from Visions of V that a lot has changed. The way Vergil feels is laid bare for us to see and Vergil regains some parts of himself that he lost all of those years ago... not only that day but throughout the following years where his only option was to survive.

But no open-necked Henley, no forearms on show, still wrapped in those layers. Another armoured vest (sleeveless?) zipped and buttoned to within an inch of his life (and chin - those animations don't exactly make it look comfortable). The other devil hunters in the series seem much happier casually flashing their skin - midriff, cleavage, abs and ass cheeks aplenty - so what makes Vergil any different, other than his antagonist status? (Maybe I'm thinking too deeply and it's purely fan-service.)

So, still looking for protection, still hiding, still afraid of appearing (or being) anything other than untouchable? Still protecting his vulnerable core from anyone or anything that would harm him?

Recovery from trauma is an ongoing process, not something that can be "fixed" within the scope of a game, or a year, or a decade, nor can people be "fixed" to become the same person they once were. But people can grow and become something more and find life worth living again. So maybe one day we'll get to see all three descendants of Sparda with their coats on the ground and hearts on their sleeves, sparring for fun as a family.

Tldr: something something a self-defence mechanism against the entire world something

1 What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

It was right after Art Fight and I desperately wanted a Queer Horror OC before Halloween season. There was a lot of talk about what kind of horror we wanted to go towards. (which maybe still is not quite settled as there are multiple "Horror Movie Plots" in our Whorror Movie story.) But we settled on demon possessed with some religious trauma and a bit of delicious revenge, and Darla and I both worked on designing our own guys separately and see how they would fit together. I sketched these:

I thought the demon might be similar to an AU demon we have, Goopy, who possesses Lucky and Nate in a story, so that's why I have the drippy drawing in the corner and the inspo for the top surgery tattoos. That's how Goopy was! But Quinn's Demon is a bit different now! Black hair with horns was a must but it mostly became spiky hair with the Vibe of horns. (… unless! rule of cool: draw them as horns anyway its badass!!)

In an early iteration of the story Quinn and Parker were going to find a baby possessed by a demon, from an Evil Cult Town. Quinn's demon and Parker's strength (and bloodthirst) destroyed their Big Bad leader who was doing the baby/demon sacrifices, and the baby was abandoned, maybe thought to be dead? They were like sure… We'll see what we can do with this little thang. They named it Blair Belladonna. They knew of an older witchy/demon knowledgeable grandma figure (literally Domino's Grandma before Domino was a character) who could help them learn about this baby's demon and how to raise a little demonling. BUT That never settled into canon, there is no baby Blair. (However! Much of the baby demon possessing cult thing turned into Domino's backstory. 👀)

12 What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC?

Remembering the dripping perma crying eyeliner down his cheeks. Yes it's supposed to be a permanent feature. 😔 Also figuring out how to draw the hair in between the "horns", how to make it spiky but not distract from The Big Spikes, which direction its going off in, etc. Otherwise I think Quinns pretty easy to grasp for me! 🤔 I love when I get to use flat black for hair and clothes when I'm just doodling so thats always a relief.

18 What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

This was trickyyy ahh Andre's such an old character that hasn't been the main focus lately, so a lot of thinking of him recently has been like. Reminiscing on old facts and not necessarily bringing in anything new. If theres something I've recently discovered of him, I can't think of it!

One thing I've recently decided after some consideration is that I'm going to fuse the Original Andre story where he adopts Delilah the robot and the AU where Andre has an Actual Human Baby instead of the robot together. So now, Delilah and baby Leia exist at the same time! Yay, two of them!!! It's gonna have to make me rethink and plan out his timeline a bit differently and see how he reacts to things now. I just haven't actually set out the time to plan the combined story yet. I feel like I softened up Andre's story a bit in the baby AU, (less drug use, less bad relationships with sketchy people, etc) so I'll have to see if I end up keeping it slightly more balanced or if it'll stay more true to the Actual Canon events, maybe just pushed around the timeline a bit.

Something else that feels new from semi recent times: I thought of an AU where all three of his parents actually like. Get together/stay together polycule it up and raise Andre together rather than the usual backstory of:

two good friends in college befriend and get a crush on the same woman

the guys start a business together

one of them marries the woman and they have a kid together but he gets way too into his work and neglects his wife, oops :(

she then goes to their friend for comfort, which leads to cheating, which leads to she GETS PrEGNANT (WITH ANDRE!) (NOT her Husband's child!) oops :(

she tells her husband the truth and they talk about separating

The Friend leaves The Business and is told to basically never speak to them again

Husband decides will simply raise this child as his own and works on bettering himself and the marriage (if only for appearances and/or for their older daughters sake) and he will simply Not resent the New Child for any reason, it's That Easy! (he said, you know, like a liar.)

Andre finds this out (Accidentally! From his SISTER) as a full grown ass adult and it fucks him up for a bit. oops :(

⬆ this is a lot to Get Into. And also it's Not the new stuff, although I probably haven't actually delved into it before…!

But basically, all this to say, this New 3 Parent AU leads to Andre being much more well adjusted, because so much of his… THing in his life (in canon timeline) has juust been. family treating him unfairly for something he had no part in and resenting/reacting to that. 🥴 And his two dads are such opposite strict/lenient personalities that they'd balance each other like, reallly wellll if they had that opportunity to both raise him from the start, and Andre would have someone in his corner when he's Going Through rough times in life. AUgh. If only… (Also his bio dad is … probably autistic like him so I think someone would like, UNDERSTAND him and the way he does things while growing up which is like, wow groundbreaking.)

how do you decide which parts of the show you consider long established canon and which parts you disregard?

Character consistency.

Character consistency means a character's personality is established, as well as what choices they'd make given certain circumstances, perhaps over a few episodes. Then that personality, with all its complexities and emotional conflicts, is reconfirmed and developed through many episodes. I'll use Hyde as my example.

In "Prom Night" (1x19), the core of Hyde's character gets a complete overhaul. Before that episode, he's essentially used as a villainous foil to show how good Eric is (for Donna) in comparison. Hyde is selfish during that arc, boundary-invading, manipulative, and deluded. The creators of T7S admitted in interviews that they had no idea at the start of the series who the character of Hyde is beyond pothead conspiracy nut.

Then "Prom Night" depicts Hyde as someone who's led by compassion and a need to protect the vulnerable, even if the vulnerable is someone whose personality he doesn't like. Hyde recognizes the pain Jackie is in from Kelso's cheating (with Pam Macy), despite what might or might not be fake tears. Despite his plans to skip Prom, he puts his discomfort and emotional sense of safety aside to help Jackie.

Established in many episodes prior, Hyde has little money. Yet he rents a tuxedo and buys a corsage for Jackie so that she can have a proper prom. He dances with her, even though he hates dancing. He also has his picture taken with her at the dance and makes fun of Pam Macy to try to make Jackie feel better.

The most revealing moment about this new version of Hyde is that he gets Jackie and Kelso back together. From "That '70s Pilot' (1x01) and through most episodes before "Prom Night," Hyde is consistently telling Kelso to dump Jackie and that he's sick of her presence. But he puts his own wishes and feelings aside, again, so that Jackie -- someone he supposedly hates -- and Kelso can be happy.

Thus, Hyde's self-sacrificing, compassionate, protector-of-the-vulnerable core is established. It's reconfirmed, strengthened, and deepened in many episodes, not just with Jackie but other characters, as well.

Another part of Hyde's characterization is established in conjunction with and connected to the above is that he doesn't want other people to know his true motivations for being self-sacrificing and helping other people. His own heart is vulnerable, having been wounded by his parents, and he's protective of it. So he often deflects and gives falsely selfish and/or devious reasons for his unselfish choices.

"Winter" (7x11) is a prime example of an episode I don't consider canon, at least where Hyde's behavior toward Jackie is concerned. Hyde promises Jackie to go with her to the Ladies of Point Place Christmas party but on the day refuses to go. Their exchange about his reversal is as follows:

JACKIE: Oh, hey, Steven, don't forget about the Ladies of Point Place party tonight.

HYDE: Oh, yeah, I forgot. I can't go. Something more important came up.

JACKIE: But you promised you'd go.

HYDE: Jackie if I promised, I clearly wasn't listening, which you should have known, so this is your fault.

I don't know who this Hyde is, but it's not the one from "Prom Night" in season 1 through season 6. Hyde's attitude toward Jackie is utterly dismissive and disrespectful. Unfortunately, some precedent for this attitude exists, but that occurs in the beginning of season 6, long after his core personality is established and reconfirmed in many episodes.

The consistently-written Hyde is willing to make himself uncomfortable and even unsafe for friends and relative strangers -- but particularly for Jackie. In "Winter," he can't be bothered to join her for a few hours at a stuffy party. He'd rather play with toys, which is understandable, but it's not a choice real!Hyde (or canon!Hyde) would make. He'd suck it up, keep his promise, and go to the party.

I never cared before about Alys when I've read F&B but the way some of those shippers hate her so much , in Twitter i see alot of them call her ugly hag , gro**mer and so many misgonystic/ ageism names and even hope for her to get cut from the show.. What for ? She is very important to the narrative and especially to Aemond's arc...

Yeah, shippers of other things and antis have been getting weirrrrrrrrrd about Alys. And that's not just a thing specific to her, I've seen some people on my side say weird shit about Helaena (which is fucked up she's the number one girlie y'all are fake fucking Green fans if you're gonna shit on Helaena for no reason), and I'm really not looking forward to anything the Daemon/Rhaenyra shippers are going to have to say once Nettles shows up. Chillest shippers I've seen in this fandom thus far are the Rhaenicents, God bless. And it'd be one thing on its own if I could trust that this was just confined to dislike of a character, but considering the track record people have when it comes to ASOIAF related media (the people who made fun of Emilia Clarke's appearance and her brain injuries and bullied Emily Carey off of social media are never going to see Heaven), I do not trust these people not be utterly vitriolic to whichever actress they ultimately cast as Alys.

People can have their criticisms of the ship, they can point out what they want about the age difference (even though it's not grooming because words have meanings Jesus Christ, not to mention Aemond has significantly more power in the relationship than Alys does) or just not enjoy it, that's all fair and valid. But it's really weird to demand that Alys be cut entirely when she's a unique part of her story and offers a unique perspective that no other character can offer, as well as her place in the stories and arcs not just for Aemond but for Daemon and Larys and honestly even Criston cuz he was at Harrenhal too. Alys can't be replaced with another character, no one occupies the part of the story she's a part of in the way that she does, that's why she as a character exists. Nor is it necessarily "out of character" for Aemond to fall for her or prioritize her once he does, and it's not him "abandoning his family for some chick" as I've seen some people actually say. For one, sorry that Aemond's recorded actions as written down in one book aren't fitting into what you want to happen, but that's on you, not the writing. If, over the course of a single story, a character's canon actions and canon thoughts and canon feelings and canon words feel "out of character" to you, then you simply do not have an accurate read on that character, I'm sorry. For two, it's not even him abandoning his family or being out of character. Nothing about their relationship is out of bounds for the kind of person that Aemond is, and as I mentioned in a prior ask, Aemond is not in a position to help his family. Even beyond the fact that Aemond considers Daemon their biggest threat at the moment and his primary goal was to get rid of him before thinking of any way to depose Rhaenyra, his family's either dead or prisoners to a hostile faction, and any attempt to try and free the ones he knows are alive just aren't feasible at that time (if you think Aemond's going to gamble the lives of his mother and his sister on the off chance that an assault on Rhaenyra might succeed, then you're stupid, no two ways about it). With that backdrop, it makes perfect sense that Aemond is at least going to fight tooth and nail for the one person he does have and does love, that he can save, because he can't do anything for Alicent or Helaena or Aegon who at this point might even be dead, but he can do something to keep Alys safe and well by his side. And even if you want to be incredibly cynical about it, then at this point in time Alys could potentially be carrying a future claimant for the Greens. No one knows where Aegon is, Jaehaera is ineligible for the throne under Westerosi customs and laws, Jaehaerys and Maelor are both dead, and Aemond and Daeron are both actively participating in deadly combat that could (and does) kill them. For pragmatism alone, Aemond wanting to ensure that, if Alys is carrying a son, that this son survives to continue pressing the claims set forth by their side, or Hell even just to make it so Rhaenyra doesn't win, makes sense.

Even if you want to ignore the importance Alys brings to the narrative, what she furthers in Aemond's arc, what his love for her can reveal to us about the kind of character that he is, that still doesn't make anything about the romance or the actions it spurs "out of character" or an indictment on Aemond, nor does it justify being weird and vile about a fictional character or people who enjoy her relationship with another fictional character. Ya fucking freaks.
