So I watched the first episode of Shogun and good lord the voices of these men in this show lol I could listen to them all day, the sets, costumes acting are all top notch and stunning
I knew it was going to be dark and violent but I was not prepared to be triggered and have repressed memories come flooding back I thought I had forgotten, that scene with that poor man and the hot water my husband had to skip it while I covered my eyes and plugged my ears.
I was badly burned by boiling water as a young girl and let me tell you I did not want to remember how painful it was and it was just my legs not my full body like that poor bastard. Im actually afraid to sleep tonight im usually ok with violence and stuff in movies and tv shows XD
Anyone got any tips for pushing unwanted memories back in there box my scars litteraly ache and itch even now, I've tried taking my mind off it with Goro content and cat videos but yeh I have a feeling tonight is going to be rough.
I really wanna watch the rest of shogun but I'm sure not sure I can if there are more scenes like that. Does anyone have a list of the really bad stuff? what am I getting myself into here lol ive scene gifs from the show that are pretty graphic but yeh that one scene was the worst for me. I loved the rest of the episodes senada is an incredible actor they all are I genuinely didn't realise how traumatic remembering would be.
This Mint and Mugwort Tea makes a calming, soothing beverage which can be a relief on the liver after a heavy meal. Mugwort* could be an acquired taste to some, but I do like its sharp, herbaceous fragrance, and I find a cuppa, a really nice break, indeed!
*it is, apparently, not recommended during the early stages of pregnancy.
Ingredients (serves 1):
about 1 1/2 cup water
half a dozen large leaves fresh mint
2 small sprigs fresh common mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris)
1 teaspoon pure (local) honey
Put the kettle on.
Finely chop mint leaves and mugwort, trimming off the tougher part of the stem beforehand.
Spoon chopped mint and mugwort into a small teapot. Once the water is boiling, pour over the chopped mint and mugwort. Cover with the lid and a tea-cosy, and infuse, 10 to 15 minutes.
Stir in honey. Pour Mint and Mugwort Tea into the cup through a strainer, stirring until honey is melted.
[This is where the bacon has been taken out, just to give you some reference, and you are now going to... We're gonna drop this in some boiling water. Drop it. Drop it like it's skin.]
