There is: (i got too excited and it's a bit long sorry)
What kind of brazillian foods/drinks the mercs would like the most
Tumblr media
Scout:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He would love any kinds of street foods, his favorite ones would be coxinha, a fried snack stuffed with chicken; Hot dogs in the São Paulo way, they usually have mashed potatoes, corn, peas and shoestring potatoes above (with ketchup and mustard, of course) and pastel, a fried dough (the texture is similar to a puff pastry) that can have many kinds of fillings, the most usual one is mozzarella cheese. He also would love eat this while drink sugarcane juice (it's a classical combo).
Soldier:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This one is funny, bc in my head all the other mercs had to lie to him that they were getting 100% american food so he could at least try some, and he keep eating it without knowing the thruth. His favorite ones would also be ones of the most iconical ones, by irony of the destiny, such as feijoada and pão de queijo. He would also love farofa (is made either with corn or cassava, braised with oil and can have diverses other igredients too) but since Soldier is build diferently, insted of eating it as a side dish he just cook a huge ass pan of farofa and eat all of it with a spoon.
Pyro:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He would love brigadeiro, because is sweet as him (awwn). He would love churrasco (brazilian barbecue), so much that he, engineer and sniper would be the ultimate churrasqueiros of the team (however only engineer and sniper are alowed to touch on the grill since the incident). From the many things that can be made in a churrasco, Pyro likes garlic bread the most (because it gets burned at outisde really quickly but still ok to eat). The last thing from his list would be cuscuz paulista, recipe that blend corn flour and many other igredients, and that people from other brazilian states keep saying its ugly but THATS UNTRUE YALL JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT - me, a sad paulistana.
Engineer:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As said before, he would love churrasco, and any kind of red meat should be his favorite (picanha, striploin…). He would also like the local beer options and condensed milk pudding (pudim). No special rasion on the last one (besides giving all the mercs at least 3 itens).
Demoman:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He would LOVE drinking cachaça (alchoolic drink made with sugarcane) and caipirinha as well (drink made with cachaça, lime, sugar and ice). For eat, his favorite food should be torresmo (pork skin with fat cut into small pieces and fried until crispy), that is also a good side dish in brazilian bar's.
Heavy:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His first favorite option would be estrogonofe, wich is actually a brazilian version of a russian recipe (stroganoff), with some alterations. He would also enjoy virado à paulista (plate composed of a beans and cassava flour mix, together with pork chop, tuscan sausage, fried egg, braised cabbage and a piece of breaded banana), it's a really big meal to a really big guy. Finally, he would go for "caipiroska" for drinking, with is a caipirinha variation but with vodka in the place of cachaça (wich i didn't know existed until i started writing this kkkkkk)
Medic:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cuca de banana (a cake with bananas and a sugar & cinnamon on top) would be one of his favorite desserts (it also has a germanic origin i also didn't knew kkkkkk). He also would like specific foods from Bahia, such as Acarajé (dumpling made from black-eyed pea dough, onion and salt, and fried in palm oil, can be stuffed with shrimp or other options of filling) and cocada (candy made with coconut), but I can't specify why yet bc it envolves a headcanon/AU i'm still making and i want it to be a silly surprise, i'll edit here once it's done.
Sniper:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last one of the ultimate churrasqueiros, his favorite item would be chiken's hearts. Aparently pumpkings are very used in australian culinary, so i like to imagine he would also like doce de abobora (dessert made with pumpking). Finally, i guess tapioca (cassava gum, can be fried like a pancake and stuffed to taste, among other uses) just suits him idk.
Spy:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He would love Carolina (looks like a éclair, but is smaller, rounder, and filled with dulce de leche) and sonho (fried dough, usualy filled with vanilla cream and with sprinkled sugar above. The name of this recipe translate to "dream" in a literal form btw kkkkk). Ending this list, Spy would enjoy queijo com goiabada (a slice of minas cheese thogeter with a slice of guava paste).
Thank you for reading until here, and sorry if i made you fell hungry hihihi
holy shit this is so good
also i want carolina that looks so good
i also want the sugarcane drinks, please god i’ll do anything

Cultural mixing
Pairing: Zelina Vega x Fem reader
Description: You and your girlfriend make each other meals from your cultures
Tumblr media
You smile making fried green tomatoes while music plays throughout the kitchen waiting for your girlfriend to come home. You decided to make a few southern dishes you grew up eating with your family to show more of your culture to Zelina, you first made cajun baked catfish with a roll and asparagus followed by homemade barbequed pork and chicken with mashed potatoes and corn then finally your mom's recipe of fried green tomatoes with peas, sweet corn, and mashed potatoes keeping them warm in the oven until zelina came home and sat down after showering and changing "Hey baby i got a few things for you" you hand her the barbeque which she groans in joy while eating and smiles at you while eating "Oh my god this is amazing". The next day for lunch you both eat fried green tomatoes and she immediately is stunned and in awe as she eats until she is finished "Baby you gotta make these again soon Jesus" then later that same day you both have cajun baked catfish and she just swallows it after squeezing lemon juice over it "Damn Mija! You gotta make this for Rey and the boys!" you laugh but keep the promises, making a big batch of the catfish later that week and bringing it backstage where her friends immediately are in awe as they eat even taking leftovers home with them, you make another batch this time of the mixed barbecue which everyone also enjoyed even taking batches to other wrestlers including the bloodline, judgement day, Kevin Owens, and Liv Morgan then you made more fried green tomatoes this time in two big batches which every single person backstage eats with the homemade sweet and spicy sauce you made. You walk in the door from work to a mouth watering smell seeing zelina cooking "Ah mi vida your home!" you share a kiss before sitting down for dinner "I made you one of my favorites, pinchos they're chicken skewers" you try it and instantly melt as you continue eating "This is amazing!" the next day you groan in hunger at the delicious smell throughout the house "Another Puerto Rican classic bebe Arroz con pollo" you are in awe as you eat the rice and chicken meal full of many flavors at once followed by a flan dessert which was very tasty, later that week you walk in from work with a smile when you smell food cooking in the kitchen "More Puerto Rican flavor! Bistec encebollado" you are full of joy eating the steak and onions with rice and roasted peaches which added a unique flavor you would never forget "God thank you for sharing these with me baby" she smiles giving you a gentle kiss "Thank you for sharing yours with me mi dulces" you both smile everytime you smell the familiar scents of these meals and new smells of meals you made from your cultures to each other later on.

I talk a lot about food and recipes here, but one thing I don't talk a lot about is food on a budget or what to eat if the disordered eating kicks up and all the food is illegal.
But if I can impart any advice to you that sticks, I hope it's this: the best bang for your buck to make a food taste better is sauce. If you can tolerate the texture of it or mix it into a food so the texture goes unnoticed, then a good sauce is just the thing to zhuzh up a meal you're otherwise uninterested in. And sauces are generally pretty cheap. I mean, fast food restaurants will just give them to you by the handful sometimes.
Also sauces tend to be pretty versatile as far as meals they go with. I once got through a number of different foods with a bottle of yum yum sauce in a "when you have a hammer" type situation. Seriously, that stuff might be good on anything.
(I discovered by desperate accident that sweet potato fries with yum yum sauce hit with just a touch of jalapeno salt is actually kind of perfect. Somebody tell the local combination hibachi/burger places in town.)
Some sauces I always need more of in my life include: barbecue sauce (especially because there are different kinds for different tastes; I actually prefer this over ketchup because they have similar flavors but bbq has more kick) yum yum sauce creamy chipotle sauce ranch dressing (especially ones with peppers added for some heat) homemade honey mustard (equal parts honey, dijon mustard, and mayo hit with a dash of vinegar and salt and pepper to taste)
Seasonings in general are a good idea to keep on hand, but sauce is the boss for a reason. It's capable of doing some pretty heavy culinary lifting.

Random facts and canon tidbits from Heroes’ Feast: The Official D&D Cookbook
Dwarven cuisine doesn’t use many spices because dwarves have extra-sensitive taste buds and can detect complicated flavors in simple dwarven dishes like potato leek soup and corned beef and cabbage.
Halfling dishes include community cheeses (cheese fondue), melted cheeses (grilled cheese), oatmeal sweet nibbles (oatmeal cookies), and hogs in bedrolls (pigs in a blanket).
One recipe, Elven Bread, is said to be able to sustain an adventurer for a full day with only one bite. No, it’s not like any other fictional elven breads from famous high fantasy worlds. It’s cinnamon-swirled!
Tumblr media
Speaking of totally original, legally distinct fantasy concepts, halfling meals include “second morningfeast.”
Dragonborns live in communal clans and eat mostly meat. As a result, they invented Brazilian barbecue. (Be careful when attending one, though, as some of the meat is from humanoids.)
Tieflings are the opposite of dwarves: their taste buds are charred, so they prefer extremely strong flavors. They also have a high spice tolerance, to the point where most tiefling spices could kill a human.
Half-orcs, being nomadic scavengers, often eat insects and grubs. Sometimes, they fry them or drizzle them in chocolate.
The book includes menus for restaurants on four different worlds. The menu for The Yawning Portal, a Forgotten Realms restaurant, offers four types of cheese. Checking the Forgotten Realms Wiki, I found that all four cheeses are from previous canon material, but the funniest one is Luiren Spring, which, according to the wiki, is a hard drug for halflings.

i'm sure we have all intuited in our hearts that vriska cannot cook, but i am going to volunteer a hypothesis for what kind of bad cook she is. because obviously there is a difference between a bad cook who just overdoes the meat, boils the vegetables & only uses table salt for seasoning, and a bad cook that can be counted upon to turn even something as simple as a ham sandwich into an unholy inedible concoction.
now hear me out: vriska is over-the-top. bombastic. a maximalist. definitely not, on any level, a pussy. she is also, as others have noted, extremely neglected due to being raised by a spider too big to enter her home and being forced to feed live children to said spider. one cannot expect her to have learned to prepare anything too elaborate in such conditions, nor to necessarily have had access to a fully stocked spice rack. my point being: vriska in the kitchen has one setting, and that is SPICY.
it's not that she particularly likes spicy food, per se, but she's not a pussy and won't have her friends, neighbors, or victims thinking she's a weakling because she skipped out on the heat. she overcompensates. if she's living on packets of hot instant ramen, she's also adding globs of hot sauce to make it even hotter. if her friends are eating potato chips, she's sprinkling cayenne on hers. if someone dares her to eat a ghost pepper she eats four. she's the exact same way in the other direction with sweet flavors, but less often.
now let's suppose, post-game, that vriska is invited to the egbert-crocker house and decides to make something delicious in their state-of-the-art kitchen. they don't have instant ramen; scratch that. they do have pasta and tomato sauce, but . . . what's in all these little plastic jars? and that's the story of how vriska made a tomato sauce with an entire jar of nutmeg, way too much dill, only slightly less cayenne than that, smoked paprika, lemon pepper, and yellow curry powder. she also managed to both over-boil the pasta and set it on fire.
recipes are for nerds and fussy prudes. with a full spice rack, vriska cooks by the seat of her pants, using luck of the draw. unfortunately, vriska's luck is famously rotten, and she just can't catch a break in the kitchen. if her spices are right for the recipe, her proportions are off; if her proportions are right her spice choices are wildly out of left field; if by some miracle both the spices and their proportions are pretty okay, she just can't resist dumping whatever sauces are in the fridge into whatever she's cooking, in whatever amounts she feels like. chili con carne? say hello to horseradish. fondue? meet barbecue sauce. potato soup? salutations to an entire liter of soy sauce. the only thing she can be trusted to safely prepare is a glass of ice water. anything with any more steps than "peel back flap and microwave on high for one minute" has room for embellishment, and boy does vriska love to embellish.
and also she just straight up doesn't know how to prepare things that aren't pre-packaged.
she's a total novice when it comes to real cooking, and as with all things misfortune brought on by hubris shall be her teacher.

any more recipes you would recommend? i'm trying to expand my cooking skills for this years resolution!
i can't TELL you how thrilled i was to get this message!!
for Videos and Techniques i really recommend bryan lagerstrom on youtube! he does a great job of explaining WHY he does things the way he does. he's a Chef chef, so some of his recipes are pretty extra, but he always offers less labor/time intensive or less costly alternatives
as far as specific recipes, they're under the cut!
this sheet pan guy is one of my favs!
fwiw my wife and i have replaced the sweet potatoes with just making rice in the rice cooker. it's easy and filling and VERY delicious
and while i'm on the kielbasa train, this is a similar form factor but very different flavoures. even better if you roast some broccoli and/or cauliflower and throw it over rice with a slice or two of garlic bread, ultimate comfort food
(and for roasting vegetables - you really can't go wrong with cutting things into bite size pieces, and roasting at 400-425 for 20 minutes, stirring once at the 10 minute mark)
this one has been a classic in my house for a long time. easy, no fuss no muss, easy to customize your level of sweetness. i usually serve it with corn and mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes!
on the other hand if you're looking for dessert recipes, here are some of my mainstays -
in general, i trust recipes from half baked harvest, gimme some oven, and damn delicious!
all that said.
my wife does most of the cooking in our house, and she's an AMAZING cook. the recipes i have to offer are much simpler lmao. if you have more specific questions or you're up for a more adventurous level of recipe, hit her up @gibsonwitch !!

farmers market
Tumblr media
pairing: non-idol!junhui x gn!reader
prompt: farmers market [private fall prompt list]
word count: 0.9k~
warnings: food tw. talks of marriage/proposals.
daisy’s notes: god its been forever since i’ve gone to a farmers market. the one we have here usually isn’t great :(
Tumblr media
If there was one thing you enjoyed the most about cooking with Jun, it was the farmers market trips you’d take together.
While there were plenty of times that you two opted for the grocery store instead--certain prices being cheaper, for one, even though you’d always prefer paying the extra money to support local workers (sometimes money would be a little tighter), or things being out-of-season that you’d have to get from a store that imported it--you still liked these trips. Jun would always slip his hand into your own, a bag on his shoulder and the list in his hands (more capable than your own--you lost the list every time you carried it and had to rely on your combined memories to get everything), and smile at you with a soft “Ready?” before you started your little shopping trip. Most people would remember the two of you, primarily because Jun would usually get into deeper conversations with people for a few minutes. Always about things like how their crops were doing, or the process they took to make their jam: little things that made people’s eyes light up as they talked about what they loved. You knew that was why he always did it, even if it lengthened your trips tremendously.
“We should come back and get pumpkins to carve,” he said, squeezing your hand. “We can puree the insides for soup...” He rambled on, talking about separating out the seeds and roasting them.
Even if Jun was the better cook between the two of you, you liked to hear his thoughts. You liked how he also tried to use everything to create as little waste as he could, even if it had lead to some more... creative endeavors in the past.
“Are sweet potatoes on your list?” You asked after a moment, slowing down when you saw the stall. “We should have another barbecue before it gets too cold.”
“With the others?” He adjusted his beanie. Some might argue that it’s already getting a little too cold, but that was nothing warm food and good company couldn’t fix. “If we can’t cook out, we can still host dinner.”
A joy both of you liked: feeding his friends good food. Some of them were still in school, after all--some in med school, others just finishing up undergrad or slogging through their graduate programs. You knew how well you were eating during your undergrad, at least, and you knew for a fact that Vernon probably was relying on ramen and microwave meals only because you and Jun had chewed him out before.
If his friends needed food, they could come to you and Jun. Or to Mingyu, who worked the same job as your boyfriend and could afford to cook for someone. The two of you liked taking care of people, after all. That’s why the two of you always extended little invitations out to both his friends and yours: you made too much food as it was. If no one bit, then the two of you had leftovers. Truly, a win-win situation.
“Ooh, we should! We could just do roasted sweet potatoes instead.” You gently tugged Jun by the hand toward the stall. “If we do that, we could also make a pie or something--We still have that apple pie recipe my mom sent us.”
Jun politely greeted the sweet older couple behind the stall before turning back to you. “If we come back for pumpkins, there’s a pumpkin chiffon pie that Mingyu told me about...”
Sometimes you swore Mingyu was trying to steal Jun from you. He always knew that new recipes enticed him. “We can definitely try it,” you said, watching him examine sweet potatoes.
Almost as if on cue, the gentleman working looked over at the two of you. “Still not engaged, I see...”
“Not yet,” Jun had said, smiling. “We’re waiting a little longer.”
“You two always sound like we did when we were young,” his wife sighed wistfully. Another thing that the two of you always heard from this couple. “We still cook together when we can, you know.”
You did. It was one of the things they prided themselves on, actually. You always thought it was sweet, even if the first few times you came alone they tried to hook you up with their grandson. He was handsome and kind, sure, but you always waved them off and said that your boyfriend was cuter. You were pretty sure they practically adopted Jun the moment they met him.
Jun, to be fair, had that effect on a lot of people. But at the end of the day, he always said that his heart only belonged to you--even though you didn’t need the reassurance. You still liked to hear him say it, because he’d always give you this cute, charming smile and kiss you goodnight.
“I hope we’ll be the same way, too,” Jun said, stealing a small smile at you.
(You never knew that the ring box was in his nightstand and hidden at the back. He was always just waiting for the perfect moment.)
You squeezed his arm, “We will,” you said. “I’m sure of it.”
There was no one else you’d rather grow old with, after all. There was only one man who got excited over trips to the farmers market, who looked at recipes with this cute glimmer in his eyes, and had become your entire world so easily--as if the two of you were destined for each other. Jun was also the romantic between the two of you, truly, but he always said you’d have him beat if you kept saying things like that.
(And maybe, if Jun had the ring on him right then and there, he would have heard you immediately say yes.)

5 Ways to Keep Your Pet Safe During A Cookout
Tumblr media
Summertime and cookouts often go hand-in-hand. From barbecued ribs to potato salad and sweet treats, many family gatherings revolve around this warm weather tradition. Our pets are family, and most pet owners want to include their pets in family gatherings and activities. Many pets enjoy the added attention from visiting family members, and they likely will drool in anticipation of a delicious piece of steak or burger that may accidentally fall from the grill.
However, grilling and cookout activities can be dangerous to pets, and lead to burns, skin irritations, choking, and sometimes deadly gastrointestinal (GI) problems. We want to ensure your pets are safe during summertime cookouts, so follow these five cooking safety tips.
#1: Keep your pet away from the grill while cooking
The sizzling aroma of fresh meats and veggies on the grill can be enticing not only to people, but also to pets. However, an active grill holds many pet hazards. Pets should be kept more than three feet from grills, because the dangerous grilling flames and heat can lead to burned paws and singed whiskers on curious noses. Therefore, never leave an active grill unattended.
Additionally, ensure you prevent pets from accessing the fat and meat trimmings that build up and become trapped below the grill. Pets lack the proper enzymes to digest rich, fatty foods, and ingestion can result in GI distress, inflammation, or potentially deadly pancreatitis.
#2: Never leave grilling accessories in a pet-accessible area
Many tools are required to ensure a successful grilling venture. However, these tools can injure pets. Ensure you keep all grilling tools, such as skewers and cooking tongs, out of paws’ reach to prevent traumatic injuries from sharp edges, or burned tongues in pets trying to sample your recipes. Additionally, store charcoal bags in a pet-safe location to prevent ingestion. Although charcoal is not toxic to pets, ingestion can still lead to GI problems, choking, or blockages that may require surgery in some cases.
Store all plastic ware and storage containers in a non-pet-accessible location, to prevent a dangerous ingestion. Your pet also may be tempted to lick residual food particles off the foil, and accidentally ingest some of the foil, which can lead to GI blockages. Diagnosing this type of blockage can be challenging because the foil is not visible on an X-ray.
Tumblr media
#3: Avoid sharing your plate with your pet
We understand that your pet’s longing eyes and drooling muzzle can be impossible to ignore while you prepare your barbecue feast. However, many popular grilling foods, spices, and side dishes are dangerous to pets, and can lead to GI inflammation, blockages that may require surgery, or potentially deadly toxicities. Never hesitate to call your if you are concerned that your pet has ingested a toxic food, and always keep the ASPCA Animal Poison Control number readily available.
Common cookout foods dangerous to pets include:
Bones
Raw meats
Hot dogs
Garlic, onions, or other members of the Allium family
Ketchup
Corn cobs
Salty snacks, including pretzels, chips, peanuts, and popcorn
Desserts, or any chocolate
Alcoholic beverages or desserts with alcohol
Sugar free foods, such as jello
#4: Use caution with bug repellent and sunscreen around pets
The rising temperatures bring an abundance of biting insects, including mosquitoes and fleas, which can carry infectious diseases and parasites dangerous to pets. Bug repellent and citronella candles are as much summer staples as swimsuits and cookouts. However, never use human-intended insecticides on your pet, and ensure your pet is a safe distance away when you apply bug spray to yourself or in the yard. Most commercial repellents contain ingredients that are dangerous to pets.
Veterinary-prescribed flea, tick, and heartworm prevention products are the safest, most effective way to protect your pet from hitchhiking pests. Additionally, excess ultraviolet exposure can lead to sunburn, or skin cancer, in some breeds. Never apply sunscreen directly on your pet without veterinary advice. Many human sunscreens contain ingredients such as zinc oxide, or para-aminobenzoic acid, that are toxic to pets.
#5: Ensure your pet can be identified
You can easily become distracted during the chaos of family or friends arriving to share the fruits of your barbecue labor. Ensure that your pet is microchipped, and wearing a secondary identification such as an embroidered collar or tag. Curious pets may accidentally sneak out the front door during the excitement of arriving guests. A microchip is the safest, most effective, and only permanent means of identifying your pet, should they go on an unplanned adventure. Always ensure your pet’s microchip registration is kept up to date with your current contact information.
