Hazbin Hotel Characters with a Goth S/o
this is basically how some of ththe hazbin characters would support their goth s/o- as a goth person this is literally so self-indulgent lmao
🥀Pairing(s): lucifer x reader, velvette x reader, adam x reader, alastor x reader
🥀 Cw: fluff!
Tumblr media
Lucifer
lucifer is a little confused and intimidated about your style at first, he definitely asks a lot of questions
VERY supportive once u explain it, hes very much the "okay dear" type
honestly i think he would find it super attractive, the way u express yourself is just so admirable to him
i feel like lucifer is very fidgety and is always losing focus, and one tjing that i do is that im ALWAYS fidgeting with thr chains and accessories on my outfits so like imagine him just standing super close to you and gently rearranging your chains and necklaces for you...
he would let you teach him how to do makeup and eyeliner and would definitely let you practice styles on him!
lucifer would also help you get ready too, always willing to offer some positive feedback or help with makeup and hair
i also think lucifer adores it when you give him music recommendations, and would get super into a lot of the bands that you like
i personally hc him as a siouxsie and the banshees fan bc i just feel like the elegant vibes fit him very well, but i also think he'd like strawberry switchblade too and just goth stuff like that
overall very supportive and super sweet and silly when it comes to your fashion
Velvette
gosh she needs more love
you both are fashion ICONS okay like even before you both become official she is blown away by your style and authenticity
she def designs special fashion items just for you, she makes a whole line of clothes based off of u and ur aesthetic
velvette LOVES matching with you and loves incorporating both of your individual styles into your matching outfits, whether youre more mallgoth or romantic goth or trad goth or anything in between, she is totally inspired by you and your fits and will always want to inspire you in return
def buys you things she seed and thinks you'd like or look good in, regardless of price. her gifts range from thrifted maxi dresses abd fishnets to priceless jewelry and makeup LIKEEEEE omg
velvette LOVES when u wear something she bought for u or designed for u as well
yall are always late for social events bc u HAVE to be the best dressed couple there i swear
also if u wear chunky boots or platforms and ur taller than her???? expect her to pull you down for kisses bc URGH seeing you sm taller than her does something to her
guys i have a type help
Adam
adam thinks your hot af if you're goth
hes the type to make big tiddy goth gf jokes im sorry💀
in all seriousness tho he would LOVE a goth s/o
adam def likes alternative/rock music and he would think it's awesome if you introduced him to some goth bands
he would LOVE the scary bitches, death grips, and also sisters of mercy too
i def think goth people would be much more rare in heaven than in hell, and he would get SO defensive on your behalf if anyone said anything about you or your fashion
honestly hes your number one fan and LOVES giving his input on your fits
honestly your closet doubles when you date him, adam loves seeing you wear his rings and punk jewelry and i def think he has a lot of old band shirts and stuff for his band, so he would love seeing you wear his oversized shirts
if u have piercings WOOWHEE bc adam asks SO MANY QUESTIONS
he thinks theyre so hot ngl, and i def think he has a few piercings and will buy u both matching jewelry
adam would learn to play songs you like on the guitar for you as well
i dont think hed be super keen on letting you put makeup on him but he'd fold after a little persuasion
i honestly think he'd like eyeliner and how he looks wearing it but doesn't want to admit it bc he doesn't want to seem too feminine (but u know ofc)
Alastor
before even meeting you he was fascinated by your style and boldness
alastor loves people who are unique, and someone who chooses to stand out so much definitely catches his eye
he'd find you very aesthetically appealing and would often find himself wanting to be around you more and learn more about you, your style, and goth culture in general
over this time period is probably when he started to develop feelings for you
alastor would def like the romantic/vampire goth look, that whole genre in general is just very elegant and classy while also nonconformist, which definitely speaks to him
when it comes to music alastor would probably be a little skeptical at first, especially when it comes to new technology, however if you (like me) have a record player and vinyl, i def think he would like listening to some of your fav goth bands on that
i dont really know why but i gen think he'd be a fan of the cure, sure its pretty basic but the vibe of some of the songs can be upbeat and kinda jazzy, and they just have that "old timey" vibe i think alastor would appreciate
alastor is fascinated with the process in which you get ready, and enjoys just sitting and watching in peaceful silence as uou do your makeup and pick out your outfit
if you (like most goths) are into creepy and unusual decor, he would LOVE to help you decorate your room
alastor has the strangest taste in interior design and loves sharing his unhinged ideas with you
overall alastor loves people with a lot of individuality and would definitely find a goth partner appealing because of that !!
THIS IS GETTING SO LONG HELP IM PROB GONNA MAKE A PT2 W MORE CHARACTERS HEHE- THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME WRITING FOR ALASTOR AND VELVETTE I HOPE I DID THEM JUSTICE!!! WE NEED MORE LOVE FOR VELVETTE SHES SOOOOO AJSJDJD- anywaysssss hope yall enjoyed!!! feel free to req more, esp if u want a pt2 to this >:D

mr. gojo and his cute but dumb little student (non-con ish + mentioned pregnancy :3)
ー ー ー ー ー
its already dark outside, the ac buzzing is the only thing filling in the silence right now. that, and his shoes tapping on the wooden floor waiting for you to finish answering the extra activities he had given you.
"tell me if you need any help okay?" he's sat on his desk, reading and checking paper. you had been failing his subject and he's got no other choice than to give you extra lessons., you nod at him, looking back down om your paper, you're so certain that most of your answers are wrong. you called him three times already.. oh, how desperately you wanted his help with this question, but you can't help but feel guilty! he's already explained the topic and methods or techniques you could use, countless of times.. if only the piling papers on his desk would just disappear so all of his focus would be on you!
its been an hour, already seven at night, almost all the school staff has left. mr. gojo was sure that only you two were the only ones left in school.
"uhm.. sir? aren't you tired?" you let go of the pen, and wiped your sweaty hands on your uniform. you prayed to the gods that he'll make you go home. you waited for his response.. he looked at the clock, and sighed "are you done? if so then hand me your paper and you can go home." oh god, you could tell he was exhausted, the circles under his eyes were already very dark, not the mention the amount of times he laid his head on the desk.. you gulped "i.. have only seven more questions left sir..." you embarrassingly admitted. he stood up, causing the legs of his chair to loudly drag the floor, startling you a bit. the buzzing from the ac was no match to how loud your heart was pounding.
when he got your desk, he wrapped his left arm around your chair and bent down next to you, scanning your unfinished paper. you felt the heat from his face, could even hear his breathing.
"c'mon, i taught you this already.." you heard the tired and annoyed in his voice. how humiliating, "what the- how did you even get that?" he stood straight, rubbing his face with both his hands before dragging another chair and setting it down next to you. "c'mon, could you tell me how you got your answer? hm? how did this equal to that." you were scared, the pressure in the atmosphere made your tummy churn. "i.. i- i dont know.." your throat was dry. you couldn't think. couldn't even hold the pen properly.
the more he asked you questions, the more the noticed how nervous you grew. satoru heard the shake in your voice whenever you answered him. he couldn't help but feel bad for you, so cute and handsome yet so dumb.
he sighed, getting up and walking to his desk again. "come here.. and bring your paper" he beckoned you, so, not wanting to agitate him even more, you quickly grabbed your paper and pen. on the outside, you were as pale as a banshee, while in the inside, a small bit of you jumped in relief and exciting because he'll finally let you go home. if only you knew, how wrong you were.
toru checked the time, 9:58pm, if he were at his house around this time, he'd be resting by now, but no, who would've thought he'd have the schools dunce sitting on his lap, squirming and moaning.
"tch... last fucking question, c'mon." he fucked your sensitive cunt while watching you dirty your own paper with drool, sweat or cum and what not. you had dropped the pen an hour ago, but you were too fucked silly to pick it up. "no offense, but were you dropped on the head as a baby? even elementary schoolers could answer this." you only respond with small whines and mews.., at this point, you've already lost count of how many times you've squirted on him and on yourself. clit pulsating so much and your poor sweet spot getting abused by his ridiculously long, thick fingers. "fuck me... what's the prime number before nineteen? do you fucking know the answer or not?" you shook your head, "mnoo.. sir i dont knooow.." you held his hand, which were way bigger than yours, in place as to stop him from finger fucking you.
he yanked your hair back, forcing you to take a good look at the scowl he's wearing. how'd you even get in college being this stupid?
"It's seventeen, it's fucking seventeen, say it.," he had a tight grip on your jaw "s-seventeen... nnhh..", "good fucking boy, now, y'know what else is seventeen? hm?" he had on a smug smirk, "w-what..?" he pulled out his hot dick and splayed it in between your soft thighs. "the amount of times you're gonne be cummin' on this fuckin' cock~" ah- is that even a normal size for a human? he was too big! too long and too fat! how could you possibly take all of him?!
1:13am, your feet off the ground, the papers now torn, crumpled and scattered on the floor. your tongue hung out while saliva seeped from the corner of your mouth and tears spread all over the other students papers, loud moans along with grunting now drowned out the annoying buzz from the ac.
"ah fuck, holy shit if this keeps up m'gonne get cha fuckin' pregnant hehee~" he's already came inside you five times, and you've wet yourself ten times! you felt like you were gonna die! by god, you knew you were gonna pass out if you came one more time. "ya feelin' the smart yet? im fuckin' the stupid outta ya y'know? five more loads then you'll outshine the top student of the school~!"

Hey!! This must be like a week old but yes I’m ok ❤️ it took me forever to fall asleep that night but because I was pet/house sitting for a friend I had his dogs to protect me and barricaded the doors
I reported the driver and they said I wouldn’t get him in the future but I needa look back and make sure they don’t let that guy drive again

MMM OKAY OKAY OKAY the brainrot is getting to me and I adore you’re writing, so forgive me if this a bit all over the place!!
Might I order some headcanons (or a full oneshot, if you want ofc) for Alastor and Vox (separate) with a gn partner who is a martial art fiend and seems mostly powerless, but is sort of like a siren? As in, not only can they put subtle amount of power into their voice when talking to persuade or disorient someone, but they can also do a Banshee type scream!
Thank you so much and have a wonderful day/night!
Alastor | Vox X Reader [Romantic]
In which your powers aren't all that obvious to the naked eye, and is hidden in your voice. Reader is genderneutral.
Tumblr media
You were just another face at the Hazbin Hotel
You helped with anything Charlie, asked, much like an assistant, and focused plenty on the decoration of the hotel
From what he saw, you really weren't much to be cornered about
That in itself concerned him
Every demon had their abilities, but according to you and the others, you were just a normal sinner
But no normal sinner would end up in a place like this for no reason
Alastor always pushed, joked, and teased you about being powerless, almost as if he were taunting you to reveal the truth—to reveal that all along you'd been lying
But you never broke
Not like he minded all that much; you were still lovely to be around, and you weren't as much of a mess as everyone else that wandered the dreary hotel
Even as the two of you grew closer than close, you never gave so much as a hint
He could tell you had something hidden, but at this point he was convinced it was your past or something else beyond your abilities
Until the day a group of demons attacked, looking for him
You'd never been overly protective of the overlord; Alastor could handle himself and hundreds of others at once if he needed to
But they were threatening the hotel, your friends, and your lover
So you stopped Alastor in his tracks, opening a window by the front door and shoving your front half out
The sound that ensued was nothing short of horrifying
Like thousands of layers of screaming voices begging to be released became unchained, and each individual in front of you collapsed
Some had bleeding ears; others were running in desperation as the chorus of voices continued to echo in their minds
Thankfully, you were a great target, because when you turned around, everyone in the hotel was fine
Well, fine in terms of hearing, but they did not look mentally well
Alastor laughs it off and claps, citing how he obviously knew all along that you were so powerful
You'll be in for a long night of explaining to him everything you were hiding
Tumblr media
You didn't like to show off your ability that much
It was horrifying and could damage a lot of people if you didn't consider your words carefully enough
So you only sang; it held a bit of power behind it, but at the very least it didn't harm anyone
It just caught attention and helped you get through another day in hell
Singing is what led to you meeting Vox, who frequented the club where you sang on some evenings
He hired you to sing at the club the Vees owned, which meant you ran into him a lot more often and got along extremely well
You revealed your ability to him, but swore off ever using it against people unless necessary
What did he care? Ability or not, you did a great job on stage, and that was all he asked of you as a friend and partner
One evening, during one of your performances which he attended, someone broke into the club
They had guns, and they looked ready to shoot
What else could you have done when they beelined towards Vox?
" Die. "
Your voice came through the mic crystal clear, and in a moment everyone holding guns dropped straight to the floor
There was no pulse, and that evening Vox learned a lot more about you than he had previously
When you are finally private and he has the chance to say anything
" Listen, dear, light of my life—that was hot as fuck, but my patrons are scared shitless right now. "
Tumblr media
Author's Note - I love these two, they are too cocky to have an s/o with cool powers but thats okay... Thank you so much for requesting, Damien!!! Love seeing you around 🖤

It's like a call to a void, the adrenaline of putting yourself in danger. Like jumping off a cliff not knowing if your banshee is going to catch you, or slicing your hand with an open blade, or getting into a fight with someone ten times bigger than you. It made you feel real, made you feel alive. And if your not doing it your thinking of it. So why wouldn't you go with your siblings to the old battle field.
"Tuk keep up." Lo'ak said as you pushed a branch out of the way. "Why'd you bring her?" Spider asked and Lo'ak huffed. "She's always like 'I'm telling if you don't let me come you know your not supposed to go to the old battlefield " Lo'ak mocks your younger sibling only making Spider laugh and you roll your eyes at his childish tactics. Tuk pokes her tongue out at him and Kiri comes to her defense. "Don't pick on her." And finally you make it, you and Lo'ak crouch Kiri beside you. "Dad is going to ground you," she whispered to you, "shush can you stop." You reply and she only rolls her eyes. "For life."
behind some bushes you and Lo'ak look around there was all kind of rubble and metal on the ground you hit Lo'ak on the stomach to get his attention. "Let's look around." You say before immediately jumping back, Avatars. "Shit." You whisper Lo'ak looks at them his body freezes. "We have to tell dad." Kiri whispers. Lo'ak goes to touch the microphone on his neck. "Hey dad." Lo'ak whispers, your eyes were glued to the avatars.
"Lo'ak." You hear your father's gruff voice over the ear piece. "Yes we are at the old battle field and there are some Avatars we've never seen them." Silence, "Who is we." Was all your father said afterward you and Lo'ak share a look. "Me, Y/N, spider, Kiri and Tuk." He paused before he said Tuk and you could hear your father sigh. "Just stay safe, Lo'ak Lo'ak!"
Suddenly before you could think your queue was being pulled roughly making you wince in pain. You look around at the kidnappers around you. The avatars. "Show me your fingers." An older man said to Lo'ak and he flips him off and give a screechy hiss and you laugh loudly making Lo'ak chuckle. "Your his alright and you," he says turning around to you pointing a finger. "Your a cute little thing aren't ya' think that's funny?" He asked. You cringe at his statement. "I do actually." He smirks gripping your face. "We'll keep you." He said and all you did was hiss it was deeper and louder than the one Lo'ak previously did.
He gives you a hard slap and all you did was smile as you hear your mother's war call. The man's face fell, "I will kill you as many times as I have to demon." Was the last thing you heard before you saw your father and brother, Neteyam sweep in and get the avatars holding your siblings but they couldn't help you but you didn't need any. As your father held you sister in her arms you took this chance to kick the man holding you kick him in the knee he filps you around arms locking around you and before you knew it you opened your mouth clamping down on the first thing near you and it came off in your mouth the taste of iron on your tongue filling your mouth, the man screamed letting you fall to the ground. You jump up and spit the piece of skin in your mouth blood spilling from it as you spit. "She bit my ear off! The bitch bit my ear off!" He yelled you smiled as you pick a gun up that he had dropped and run off next to your dad.
It was hell after you got home. Your father yelled at you and Lo'ak about how irresponsible you two were and how stupid it was to attack the man holding you. But, this was the usual for you not taking anything to heart but you could see Lo'ak every heart breaking thing your father said to you two it stabbed him a hundred times over. And then your father put everyone of lock down and suddenly everything darkened around you, it felt like you were a dead person in someone you didn't know, like your family and friends weren't really your family and friends.
So there you are sitting at the back of your families home watching the sky, you had the razor blade you swiped from Norm in hand and all of those bad thoughts flew into you again. You griped the balde t as tears fell down your face, "Your not real." Your head thought. "Your nothing." The thoughts consumed you as the blade got closer and closer to your skin and it made contact you held it to the base of your palm. Your eyes clench closed as you held the blade hard and sliced all the way down, the throbbing pain was there and then you take the balde off of your palm and as the blood dropped from your hand, and a sense of comfort fell over you.
Your mother looked at your hand as she wrapped it up, "And you say you accidentally cut yourself when sharpening your dagger." She asked once again and you smile. "Yes I was being stupid I know." You laugh as she lets go of your hand. Before you asked your mother to wrap your hand your father gave you the news you had to leave, it hurt it really did you were leaving the only place you called home but you knew you had to stay strong for your siblings for your Mother.
When you finally made it to the Meykayina all of their eyes were on you and your family it was strange, unsettling. It only got worse the more you stayed there people made fun of you, of your siblings. And that feeling you knew all to well came back you had to cut, and everytime you had a quick explanation. Soon you had scars in various parts of your body, on your sides, inner and outer thighs, your calfs, you even had to wrap you hands up. And after an altercation with Lo'ak and the chiefs son they were forcing you and your siblings to hang out with him and his sister Tsireya. She was nice, sweet you sort of envied her but didn't show it. "Hey forest people." Ao'nung laughed and all you did was roll your eyes. "Hey fish boy." You reply opening your eyes and giving him a sarcastic smile.
He looks taken back but Kiri and Lo'ak burst into laughter as Neteyam hits your arm. "Let's get this day over with." He said getting the ilus saddled up. You stand up and head towards your ikran and they just look at you. "Forest girl where you going!?" Ao'nung yells and you turn around. "I'm going to ride Amhel." And then Neteyam huffed. "What is wrong Neteyam?" Tsireya asked as she lifted her leg over her ilu. "When she rides Amhel that means shes gonna do something stupid and then get in trouble for it." He shook his head as you jumped into her and connected taking off into the sky. It was a dangerous speed, but you didn't care. You did all kinds of things in the air the farther you got into sea. "Flip upside down." You thought and that's what she did. "She's not strapped in!" Tsireya yells watching you as you let your arms swing in the air. Neteyam watched he hates when you did this, but he couldn't stop you.
You made it to the island you land on the warm sand and hop off as the other five to make it to you. Kiri hit you upside the head. "Why are you so stupid always doing dangerous things." She scolded. "Ah and it's not dangerous it's fun have some." You joke rubbing the sore spot she made. "Fun? We rather keep our lives thank you." Neteyam chimed in and you only rolled your eyes. "If I wanted to get scolded I would have stayed with mom and dad..." Trailed off by seeing a huge rock. It was beautiful it started in the water where it has a teal ring, and it goes up as moss and leaves grow on it, it had to be at least fifty felt in the air. "Y/N don't." Neteyam spoke, to late.
You rode Amhel up to the rock and looked down you were sure to die if you jumped and no one caught you. "Perfect." You thought.
Meanwhile on the shore your older brother and sister sit down and put their face in there palms. "Told you, something stupid." Neteyam muttered to the group. Ao'nung had his transparent eyebrows furrowed as he looks between you and your brother. "What is she going to do?" He asked as you got of of Amhel. "Just watch it's so cool." Lo'ak said.
You disconnected you queue as you let the side of your head. "Remember catch me." You whisper to her and she only gives you a small chirp in response as she takes flight. She circles around the rock getting ready to catch her rider. You take one more look down stepping back a few steps you take a deep breath. Closing your eyes you run and jump. Falling through the air you could hear Tsireya yelling, "She's gonna die, she's not gonna catch her!!" This time your siblings got up and started yelling Neteyam jumped to his ilu ready to rush toward you and then everyone stopped as the heard you. "Why are you guys so serious." From behind them.
"Holy shit that was cool." Lo'ak laughed you got off of Amhel and walked to them sitting down in the sand letting the warm sun hit your skin. "I thought you were going to die." Tsireya said sitting down next to you. "Not today." You say smiling as you close your eyes.
"You did What!" You father yelled, you have Lo'ak a side eye, why did he have to be such a blabber mouth. "It wasn't anything serious me and Amhel used to do it all the time back home." You say putting your hand on your hip. "Okay we'll talk about that later but you jumped off a cliff that was over fifty feet in the air, what the fuck is wrong with you." Clenching your teeth, "Nothing is wrong with, I'm sorry I'm not an uptight asshole and like to have fun." You say suddenly feeling defensive as to why he asked what was wrong with you. "Don't curse at me and that's not fun you could have killed yourself." He yelled and you only rolled your eyes. "No more riding Amhel." He said and your face dropped. "What t-thats not fair." You protest before your father clicks his tongue. "Fine." Was all you said before storming up to your room of the pod.
It had been a little past eclipse and your shoulders felt heavy and that question ran through your mind over and over again, "What the fuck is wrong with you." Your father's words never stuck but this did. Your hands shaked you jumped out from under the hand-made blanket your mother gave you. You tiptoe over to your bag and rummage through it and you found it. You bit your lip as you looked at the blade. You sit on your cot and grabbed the blanket you were previously covering up with, putting it between your teeth you bit down, now you look at the blade and you press it onto your upper arm, pressing down hard you guide the blade down you sighed and bite the blanket because of the pain, but the more pressure you put into the cuts the more mental relief you felt. You dropped the blade and looked at your hand you held it so hard it cut through your fingers.
You let the blanket slip through your teeth and your breath was heavy and then you look up and your eyes were met with ones of your mother. You gasp. Flipping the blanket over your arm and hide the blade. Neytiri walks closer bottom lips shaking, "Show me." She demands and you only look away wiping the tears away from you face. "Show me." She says this time a little harsher. "Fine mom, you wanna see!" You say loudly getting up and the balde falls to the ground, you show her what you had just did, then you ripped the bandages you had on your thighs and then your hands. "Is this what you wanted to see." You say crying. Neytiri tilts her head as she falls to the ground. "My baby, my daughter my special girl." She cried out holding the blade throwing it across the room. "Mom don't cry." You say holding yourself looking from your mother's broken figure.
Neytiri was gasping through her tears, "Was it me was it Jake, did we do something, did we do something wrong I know we haven't been the best parents but I tried to protect you I-"
"No it's not you or dad it's me I'm fucked up, I'm fucked up but it's not you mom it's not you." You say falling to the ground next to her. She looks at you and holds your arms, going over every scar she helped heal and guilt fills her. You cry watching her reaction and then she brings you close, "It's okay my special baby, my sweet girl." She coos rocking you back and forth as your tears soak her chest. "I'm sorry mama I'm sorry."
"nothing to be sorry for my sweet." She said guiding you back to the bed holding you she pressed sweet loving kisses to your wrist. "Nothing wrong my sweet girl." She whispered holding you as she did when you were a child and your cries softened and your eyes began to get heavy for the first time you felt loved, you felt safe.

pairings: neteyam x avatar!reader

series masterlist | one of us: part four | requests are currently open for now
Tumblr media
When a person becomes one of the people, or in other words, when they are born twice, the clan puts on a ceremony for them. It consists of dancing, feasting, and telling stories to one another — it’s all about connection. A connection between the people, their culture, and the new person who has become one of them. Kiri had been telling you about it nonstop, trying to install some confidence in you.
You would be covered in paint and stand before the clan asking them for their acceptance. The Olo’eyktan would approach you and in his eyes from Eywa, you would either be accepted or denied. If he accepts you, he will place his hands upon your shoulders, above your heart, and in turn, the rest of the clan would follow until they form a large circle around you. Interconnected as one, before Ewya. It’s there where you’d earn your place among the people, forever.
That isn’t the final test that decides your place among the Omatikaya, but only the ceremony. The final test is the hardest thing asked of a person; a journey, filled with an act fueled by the need to prove oneself. A journey into the Hallelujah Mountains where the individual would walk among the floating island of banshees. The most dangerous creature to fly within the sky, aside from the great leonopteryx, the last shadow. You must look one in the eye and if it tries to kill you, it means you have been chosen as a rider.
After that, it's up to you. Live or die. Walk among the people forever or become an outsider. Stay or be exiled. It all comes down to that final test. After spending six months training, learning, and integrating your entire life onto the planet you had once only seen from a glass window, you were about to face the final test. It all came down to that moment after perfecting the language, understanding the orders of energy transfers under Eywa, practicing Tsaheylu, and consummating the skill of hunting. It all came down to sealing the bond with the second deadliest creature of the sky.
It was the morning before you were set to make the trek toward the mountains with Neteyam, Jake, and a few other young Na’vi prospects looking to prove that they should be accepted among the clan as adults. Before the village, they were hoping to be seen and accepted by their parents and other adults alike that they were no longer incompetent children, but well-working individuals of society. You had more to prove than them and everyone knew it.
For you it was everything and that thought alone had you retreating into the forest just before sunrise, the foliage illuminating under your feet, as you found yourself among the only spot you could find peace to think. The river and the waterfall that Neteyam had shown you five months ago — the night you had called a truce to the immature behavior and sharp tension.
From that night on, that place had become his spot and yours. Most of the time, the two of you went together at night. It was a place where you could talk, swim, and whisper to one another about the inevitable future that was approaching the both of you far too quickly. Where yours hung in the balance, unknown about what was to come, his was certain.
When you finished your training, he would be close to completing his own. If you did this, completed this, he would no longer be the Olo’eyktan in training but the future Olo’eyktan of the Omatikaya. He would work alongside Jake until one day the title would be bestowed on him when needed. He would no longer be seen as a boy but a man, and with that came making his bow from what was left of the wood of Home Tree, finishing a song bead for his songchord, and having a woman chosen for him.
Neteyam would be old enough and prove himself to have the ability to choose a woman within the village. However, where it would be any other man’s choice, you quickly realized for the future Olo’eyktan the privilege would not be the same. He would need a Tsahik to lead alongside him and his choice couldn’t withstand being wrong. The clan could suffer and Mo’at and Neytiri would work in their power to prevent that from happening.
As soon as his training was over, they would look to Eywa and choose his mate. From that moment on, they would be engaged, and as soon as he turned eighteen he was expected to consummate their marriage and their courtship. But then eighteen came and went and he had pushed it off. He had just turned nineteen and there was chatter going around, that they were already praying and looking to Eywa to guide them to an answer, and suddenly you couldn’t bear it.
It bothered you to no end, on top of the fear of not passing your final test. The thought of Neteyam being mated with another clan woman left the worst feeling in your stomach and made you so sick, but you shoved it down deep. So deep that no one else could possibly know about how you felt.
The very feelings that started to develop the first evening you met were later masked as dislike during that first month when you refused to listen to one another. It was seen as anger and hatred but after the night when he brought you here, to the river, that feeling still remained. The rage and the resentment were gone but the feelings deep within your stomach were still there, their grip tightly wrapped around your very being.
You knew though that once, or rather if accepted, traditionally one day you would have been able to be matched with someone. Asked by Eywa to be someone’s mate for the rest of your life but even if accepted, not all wishes and traditions are granted to dream walkers. Neytiri had expressed to you multiple times that you would still be a dream walker, a soul belonging to two bodies after the ceremony. It wouldn’t be fair to be mated with someone during the day but separate from them at night. She had lived that life once and she wouldn’t wish that upon any of the young men of their village, let alone one of her sons, who both seemed to have a strong connection with you. Mo’at agreed and therefore forbade you from being promised or even mated to a man of the village unless you became fully Na’vi.
That wouldn’t be happening anytime soon either because the more you wished to become full Na’vi, the more you began to separate from your former life. But Mo’at forbade that too. The transfer consisted of a ritual where the consciousness of a single being was transferred from one body to another. It had only been done twice and before that, no one knew for sure. After thousands of years, some things became more and more like folk tales. Out of those two rituals, only one survived. The one was Toruk Makto, Jake Sully.
With that case in point, Mo’at didn’t believe in your odds and she hadn’t asked Eywa enough about it to grant your request. It had been days ago when you had appeared in her hut, in a state of distress. After the whispers became louder about Neteyam’s future mate and the talk about your Iknimaya seemed to circulate the village.
It all was getting to you, not to mention the more connected you felt to this body, your avatar the body, the less you connected to your own. The original body you had spent almost ninteen prior years in, seemed to be failing you the longer you stayed in the link pod and with the Omatikaya.
The truth was your immune system was shot and somehow months ago you had contracted a virus and from there, things began to spiral. You were taking care of yourself less; by this time, you had become far too weak. Norm and Max had been trying to treat you with everything they had but with their resources limited they could only do so much. It had become worse just a few days prior when you for the first time ever delivered a successful clean kill. The testament of whether you were ready to complete the final test.
That night you had barely made it back to your own room by yourself as you had lost probably close to twenty pounds and had no strength left in your legs. Max had advised you or rather ordered you to take a few days off away from the link pod and lay in bed. You needed to rest and both he and Norm agreed that the strain on your body from the link process wasn’t helping you in the slightest, but you refused. You were too close, after so many long months, you were so close.
Not to mention that in this body, in this form, you couldn’t feel it — the weakness, the limitations, the way you felt yourself losing all hope of a normal life. In this body, you weren’t that and you refused to give it all up to become that version of yourself when you were this close. You suspected that Jake knew, that Norm had gotten in contact with him and told him about your human state but he hadn’t brought it up to you yet. Instead, he communicated it through lingering stares and the sudden extra attention you seemed to be getting from both his wife and his daughters.
On this day of all days though, that couldn’t have your attention, not when you were about to partake in the most important moment of your life. Sat at the edge of the river, you stared forward at the water, your arms wrapped tightly around your legs. Your chin leaned against your knees, deep in thought about all of the worst possible scenarios that occurred if you couldn’t do this.
You heard him before you saw him, he approached you from behind, his footsteps quiet as he stepped past low-hanging foliage like so many times before. How did you know it was him? Because it always was.
“Y/N?” The sound of your name fell from his lips like woodsprites on skin, softly, gently as if he didn’t want to scare you away. He stood behind you for a moment, staring forward matching where you were looking almost in uncertainty at your quietness. “Hey, what are you doing? You do realize we have to start making our way towards the mountains in about an hour.”
Silence was all he got in response as you continued to look forward at the water and the ripples that formed from a fish kissing the surface. His voice broke through your fears and worries with ease but it wasn’t enough to overpower them completely. You felt him sit next to you, close enough that his leg pressed against yours. He stared at the side of your face, those gold irises of his taking in every part of it and analyzing every one of your emotions. You felt his fingers brush against your skin as his hand delicately clasped around your forearm.
As if broken from your spell, you turned towards him, eyes swimming with every doubt in your body, “What if I can’t do this, Neteyam?”
“What?” his brows furrowed “How could you ask that?”
“What if I can’t claim an Ikran? Is that it? I just don’t become one of the people and then your parents exile me? I once again am nothing but an outsider? I don’t think I can do that. A life where I am not here every day in the village, or running through the forest. I don’t think I could stand it.”
He pulled you closer to him, a light chuckle falling from his lips, “Y/N. Woah, slow down.”
“And not being able to see everyone; your sisters, or Lo’ak, or Jake. I mean I don’t think I could ever live with never seeing any of them again. Not seeing you again…”
His hand tightened as if your words registered in his ears, the possibility of that flashing through his mind. He shook his head and focused instead on your widened eyes and how they refused to look away from him. “That won’t happen. You have this. We have trained for months and I know that—”
“But what if—”
“No, but anything, because you have this,” he said, tone solid, not bothering to let you finish your previous thought. A smile broke out across his lips then, “I thought you were tougher than this, Y/L/N.”
Usually, you would defy him, and argue with him but not like the two of you once did. Now those disagreements seemed to always be interlaced with teasing tones and sly smiles. You usually gave him a look filled with smugness just asking for him to try and regain control over you. This look on your face though didn’t appear anything like that though. Instead, you were deflated and falling apart at the seams.
“Me too,” you agreed.
“Y/N—” he started but his voice died quickly as you spoke again.
“If I do this, do you think the people will accept me?”
There was no hesitation on his part, “Of course, they will. Why would you ask me that?”
You looked away from him, pulling your arm away and scooting closer toward the edge of the river, disconnecting from him completely. He felt the warmth from his side disappear altogether as he watched you dip your legs into the water, your head hung low staring at your reflection.
“Pivlltxe’u (speak up)!” his voice was commanding of you then while he watched as you lifted your hands to look down at them.
“I can hear them, you know. After all this time the whispers still follow me around. My alien blood. That I am in a false body. That I am nothing like you but still in every way like them — the enemies, the sky people,” you admitted with a furrow in your brows.
Neteyam wasn’t quite sure what to say as even after the countless amount of nights the two of you had spent in that exact spot, you had never talked about something so serious. Something that was your past life, who you were, or what would be expected of you after this. Most of the time, you talked about him, and his future rather than your own.
“My father was like you.”
You laughed dryly, your hands dropping in your lap as your head lulled back slightly, “Jake Sully was not like me.”
“Except that he was,” Neteyam argued, glancing down at his own hands. His four-fingered hands didn’t resemble his father’s or his two siblings but something that still was deeply a part of his family.
“No,” you said, the harshness evident in your voice as your ears flattened back and your gaze fell back to your ten fingers, “Jake Sully was Toruk Makto. He led the clan to victory against the sky people. The very people who killed hundreds of innocent Omatikaya and refuse to leave this place in peace. He is not one of them.”
“And neither are you.”
He slid closer to you so that you could feel his warmth across your back and side. His chest pressed against your shoulder as he reached forward, his hand ghosting under yours. He took it and held it within his, the back of your hand pressed against his palm.
“You know what I see when I look at these hands?” he asked, voice soft, eyes locked on the side of your face, “It’s not the sky people or aliens in false bodies as everyone else calls them. No, I see my dad coming here and falling in love with my mom. I see him becoming one of the people, leading them to victory, and being appointed Olo’eyktan. I see my sister being born and then my brother.”
His breath slid across the side of your face, and you turned to look at him. The warmth of it then spread to your lips as he sat so close, stare already locked onto your own. Those gold eyes filled with specs of yellow and green haunted you at night every time you fell asleep; this was the first time you witnessed them so up close and personal in months. His gaze flickered down to your parted lips before darting back up to your eyes. You then felt his fingers curl around the back of your hand, slotting in between yours and intertwining them together.
You looked down at them and that warm feeling inside of you began to spread, like wildfire all throughout your entire body. He smiled as he continued, “When I look at these hands, I see you.”
Your own breath hitched in your throat and your eyes snapped back up to his, unsure if he really said those three words to you. Words you had been trying to earn from him for months. Though often used as a greeting, to some it meant so much more. It was said out of respect and in rare cases out of love.
“You can do this,” he said and you swore your heart stopped then and there.
You felt as if any words got stripped from your tongue and yanked back into your throat. You could only stare at him in disbelief taking note of the kindness in his eyes and how gentle his voice was. Five months ago things were so different, the way he looked at you was so different. Even if he still lectured you once in a while or hated how you sometimes did run off with Lo’ak, he was different. Ever since that night in the very same spot where he apologized and opened up himself to you, he wasn’t the same Neteyam Te Suli Tsyeyk’itan. From then on it was like he promised himself and his people that he wouldn’t be that person again. It started with you.
His hand tightened around yours, but before you could say anything else, the sound of footsteps and brush being pulled aside was heard. Your eyes broke away from Neteyam’s and he followed where your attention had drifted to.
Lo’ak stood just a few feet away, frozen at the sight of his brother’s hand tightly clasped around yours. When he noticed how close the two of you were sitting his hands tightened at his sides and his eyebrows raised almost in shock. You noticed the way a lump formed in his throat as his gold eyes, appearing so much like Neteyam’s, locked onto his older brother.
It was almost as if they were having a silent conversation through their matched stares and rigid statues. Lo’ak shifted uncomfortably on his feet as he hadn’t seen the two of you like this. He thought he had known how the two of you felt about one another. His brother hated you and you couldn’t stand the attitude you got from the oldest Sully. You two never acted like this, let alone felt any certain way to justify why you sat so close, holding hands.
Suddenly, it felt like so much more than two people casually comforting one another. Because you and Neteyam were at each other’s throats for months, even if things weren’t entirely the same, the two of you never publicly acknowledged one another outside of lessons. Lo’ak wondered if it had all gone over his head. Were their stolen glances? Light touches anytime you walked by one another in the village? At night would Neteyam sneak out of their tent just to come to find you?
He was overthinking it, evident in how his eyes flickered from you to his older brother and then down to your joined hands. But how could he not when he felt like he was getting slapped across the face?
Neteyam able to read his brother’s expression sighed and released your hand from his — almost as if it was the easiest thing in the world, almost like he needed to. You scooted back from him, putting more distance between the two of you as Lo’ak’s eyes zoned in on you, lips still parted in shock.
“Uh what is going on? You two are friends now?” his voice was spiteful and you couldn’t help but let your mouth part in shock.
Neteyam’s eyebrows knitted together and he suddenly became annoyed with his brother’s attitude, “Lo’ak, don’t!”
“What, I was just asking,” he rolled his eyes as he rubbed the back of his neck, “Dad says they’re ready. We should get going.”
You felt yourself inhale, your breath hitching as Lo’ak nodded his head in the direction of the village, refusing to make eye contact with his older brother. You looked over at Neteyam despite Lo’ak’s glare on your back, needing his reassurance one last time. He nodded at you approvingly, another reminder that you had this. His words ring in your ears and it was like suddenly his opinion was the only one that mattered. That whatever happened, what he thought about you was all that mattered.
Standing up, you approached Lo’ak as every moment of training seemed to flash before your eyes from beginning to end. It all led to this moment. Win or lose? That was up to you. He watched his brother stand too to follow the two of you as he wrapped his hand gently around your elbow.
You didn’t even question the touch from Lo’ak as over the course of the last six months he usually found some way to be touching you. Whether it was his palm on your lower back, legs brushing against one another during dinner, or his fingers trailing across the back of your hand while standing next to one another.
His physical touch had increased since you had gotten your avatar, but his flirting still remained the same. He was still the same Lo’ak you had met when you were a child and though Kiri had a lot to say about it, you constantly reminded her that things had not changed for either of you — especially for you.
The two of you walked alongside one another with Neteyam trailing back just enough to hear your conversation but not enough to be right on your heels. Something else that had lessened too, his need to hover over you and Lo’ak. With you spending so much more time with Neteyam, there was less time to be with his siblings so when Lo’ak did manage to swoop you away or convince you to sneak off somewhere, Neteyam turned a blind eye to it.
A part of you ignored the way your stomach dropped every time he let you go even when Lo’ak was asking you to leave early during a lesson. Neteyam would stare over at his brother and simply shrug and then just like that, you were being swept away in the opposite direction.
“You ready?” Lo’ak asked, his hand slipping down from your elbow to his side, but still close enough where you could feel his pinky bumping into yours.
It was something that had surely caught Neteyam’s eye. The way Lo’ak’s hand so clearly matched yours and even with the two of you walking side by side, he knew that your hand fit perfectly into his younger brother’s — five fingers and all. Just as he had noticed the certain way his younger brother had been looking at you lately as well as constantly trying to get your attention.
It plagued Neteyam with the worst feeling he had yet to encounter, one that stuck to him worse than the rage he had once pushed down so far. The frustration he once held for you didn’t match the way he felt now watching the two of you interact. A green monster their father had called it when he told his sons about it a few years ago — jealousy. It was a feeling that masked all others and slowly drove you mad if you let it.
“Yeah, I think so,” you replied softly, unable to look away from the forest before you as if you were taking it all in, in case it would be the last time.
“You think?” Lo’ak raised a single brow, “Please tell me you are more sure than that.”
Neteyam had heard the accusatory tone in his younger brother’s voice and he felt like scolding him for it as he noticed the way your ears twitched uneasily. What you needed right now was someone to reassure you not question you.
“I am…” your voice trailed off, your hand pulling away from where it hung by your side next to Lo’ak’s.
“Hey,” Lo’ak stopped, his hand grabbing your shoulder This made Neteyam pause too, a couple of feet behind the two of you. You glanced up at Lo’ak, hesitantly, gaze glancing from him and where the village sat just behind the tree line.
Lo’ak squeezed your shoulder in his, a smile forming across his lips, “You’re going to be fine.”
You nodded, but you seemed even less convinced now than you had been moments ago near the river, hand locked within Neteyam’s grasp. The older Sully boy cursed under his breath at his brother’s obliviousness, not able to read your feelings as easily as he could. He felt his whole body stiffen worse as he watched Lo’ak’s hand drift to your lower back and continue to guide you towards the village where their father was waiting with the other initiates.
“My dad and Neteyam will be with you the whole time and lead you up the mountain, okay? Then I’ll meet you up there as soon as I can,” Lo’ak explained even though you hadn’t asked, already aware of how the process would go from Neteyam explaining it thoroughly the night before.
“You’re not going with?” you asked, cautiously.
Lo’ak smiled at the question as the three of you broke through the brush and back into the village, “I have to do some things for my mom but I’ll fly to you when I am done. I’ll be there by the time you guys reach the top.”
You barely made a sound at his words, just continuing to walk through the village as a clear spectacle for everyone to look at. A show for them to whisper about and place bets on if you would manage to pass the final test or not. Their whispers were low and you folded into yourself as you observed the children pointing and the mumbling of the adults.
Lo’ak hadn’t spared a glance in your direction, but your frame relaxed briefly at the feeling of another person on your other side. It was Neteyam. He noticed the shift in your body language faster than anyone else. The way he walked overshadowed your figure slightly from others as if part of him wanted to protect you from everyone else and their loud mouths.
He as well as anyone else couldn’t deny how this day had proven to be a huge deal not just for every other Na’vi attempting it but because there was a dream walker among them attempting it too. It had been nearly nineteen years since the last dream walker climbed the Hallelujah Mountains and claimed his Ikran. The legend of Jake Sully was still talked about fondly by adults to their children as he was the first sky person to ever attempt it. As he went on to become Toruk Makto, those who had been too young to witness any of it at the time found their eyes forever focused on you — the next dream walker. The next sky person to try and live among them.
Neteyam could see it on all of their faces; the excitement, the curiosity that came when they saw you. Sure there were other young Omatikaya hoping to claim their Iknimaya but all eyes were on you. Especially considering it wasn’t just a test for you, but a test for the man who had taught you everything you knew. It was a testament to the future Olo’eyktan and if he had the capability to lead his people. Evident in the way all of the gold eyes would drift from you to him and how close he was walking next to you.
Now add in the fact that you were walking in between both of Toruk Makto’s sons, that sure also had an effect on people, noticeable in the way they would lower their hands to whisper to one another. He heard his name float in around his ears, accompanied by his younger brother’s. It was like adding that into consideration, you were shrinking further into his side.
As you approached the small group of young hunters just at the edge of the forest, you all found Jake standing proudly, speaking to all of them. Suddenly then as you stood just a few feet away, Lo’ak turned to you, his hand drifting down to yours. He squeezed it and wished you luck before he slipped away in the opposite direction towards his family’s tent.
Jake turned on his heels to see you standing there with his oldest son and he had to withhold the smile that was threatening to form on his face; one of pride almost even though you hadn’t done anything to have earned it. His eyes flickered to Neteyam and then back to you as the other four hunters, all many years younger than you, stared at you in wonder.
“You ready?” he asked, the same exact words Lo’ak had said only moments before and it brought on another wave of anxiety into your stomach.
You opened your mouth, lips parted slightly as if you were going to respond but no words emerged as you could feel all of their eyes burning holes into you. Neteyam’s gold eyes looked from his father to you but noticing your expression, he leaned closer to you, his hand ghosting over your back as he caught Jake’s gaze.
“She’s ready,” he said, without a question as his hand dropped from where it had hung in the air just over your shoulder blades. The warmth of it still ghosted across your skin though he hadn’t actually touched you.
Tumblr media
Your fingers were digging into the ground above you, upper arms aching as you hung over the side of the mountain, feet barely hanging onto the side. Short of breath, you attempted to pull yourself up but grunted out of distress as your arms seemed to pop and ache at the attempt. You had felt weaker lately and you had a horrible suspicion why. Cursing under your breath, you glanced to your side, watching as each young hunter easily pulled themselves up. The nerves in your stomach increased again though Neteyam had spent the whole ride over on his direhorse, at your side sneaking you reassuring looks. It was like every few moments, his gold irises would drift back to you almost as if something about you guided him back.
You had thought no one would have noticed the small interaction but it was clear Jake Sully, and Toruk Makto had. He had been stealing his own glances in your direction having once been in your position and he was not surprised to find you riding in silence, chewing a hole into the bottom of your lip. His look was just as protective as his son’s and the pressure of their lingering gazes felt heavy on your chest.
Not to mention, every time the Olo’eyktan looked over his shoulder, he found his son already looking at you. The corner of Jake’s mouth lifted curiously as he watched the interaction between the two of you. The stolen glances how you would nod over to the older boy to assure him that you were alright. It had completely shifted, almost like a 180 from how the two of you interacted five months prior.
Just as you were about to try and swing your body up for the third time, a hand extended out to you. Neteyam stood on the edge, leaning forward, his arm out as any strong protector would. Jake watched closely as you shook your head at his son, eyes threatening him to back up and let you do this on your own. Neteyam sighed but took two steps back giving you a little more space.
The ache at this point was barely tolerable as you felt the rock scratching into your knees and your side. Sucking in a deep breath, you tightened your core and pulled yourself up. Arms bent at a ninety-degree angle, you swung one leg up and stood up with ease, slightly out of breath. Jake nodded approvingly and Neteyam held his hands up in defeat. You had this.
You followed the group across the floating mountain until you came across a waterfall, a small path hidden behind it that would lead to the other side. To the other side where all the Ikrans were, evident by the sounds of their flapping wings, and screeches. It made your ears twitch hesitantly as beads of sweat formed along your hairline.
You walked closely behind Jake, his tail flicking your leg as Neteyam stood behind you, his hand wrapping around your side to press along your hip as if to keep you from getting too close to the edge. You felt your breath hitch at the action but didn’t react to him, too nervous at the sight of the waterfall opening. Jake stopped right near the edge, looking over his shoulder to where you stood behind him
“Y/N, you okay going first?” he asked, cautiously, lowering his voice as he reached out to take your shoulder in his hand.
You nodded, but that didn’t feel like enough as you glanced past him to the crowd of creatures stalking around. All creatures with razor-sharp teeth and large claws. As your eyes met his again, there was a different look about you, “Yes.”
He smiled, squeezing your shoulder. You felt Neteyam lean closer from behind you, his chest meeting your back as his hand shifted upwards from your hip to your chest, his fingers pressed along your collarbone. His mouth opened softly to speak but they closed at the sound of a screech from behind you all on the other side of the waterfall. All heads turned and within seconds, another person emerged. Lo’ak appeared, his riding headpiece pulled down across his forehead, eyes finding yours immediately.
A grin occupied his face, “Hey, I told you I’d make it.”
As he looked past you though, he found his father giving him an unimpressed look, eyes settled into a blank look. He clicked his tongue back as if telling his younger son not to interfere as nine out of the ten times he would probably do something to cost this for you.
Lo’ak held his hands up defensively as he wedged his way between the other hunters and his brother, “Got it. I’ll be good.”
Sighing, you shifted your gaze back to Neteyam as his breath fanned across your face, “You can do this, okay? This you must feel inside. If it chooses you, move quickly just like we’ve practiced. You will have one chance.”
His words absorbed into you, your attention shifting from him back to the mountain ledge before you. You scanned the area, the banshees' colors reverberating off your eyes, like a reflection upon glass. You took one last deep breath, puffing your chest out as you stepped by Jake out from behind the waterfall. Confidence filled your statue as the Toruk Makto called your name.
Jake’s stare matched yours, flooded with determination interlaced with assurance, “Trust your instincts and trust your reflexes. Let your mind go blank and listen to your strong heart.”
You smiled for a moment before it fell away, a tight line taking its place. With your rope in hand, you unraveled it, able to hear the shuffling of the group of people stepping out from behind the waterfall. All were eager to watch the prospect, the dream walker, the sky person take on their Iknimaya. With the rope interlaced between your fingers, you swung it around as you stalked forward, slowly, the edges of the rocks digging into the bottoms of your feet.
Jake and Neteyam followed slowly as you stepped forward, eyes meeting each banshee you passed. A few flew off the large rock and with each one that disappeared from view, you felt the base of your stomach form into knots. The groups began to lessen as you moved forward near the edge of the mountain, saliva settling into the back of your throat.
None had shown an interest in killing you. None had shown an interest in your gold stare and sharp fangs. Not a single one could look you in the eye and bare its teeth. It was as if they could smell your alien blood, and see you as an unworthy rider, nothing like one of the Omatikaya. Your heart clenched as you slowly approached a third group of Ikrans. A bead of sweat slipped down from your forehead as you met all of their eyes, a small noise erupting from your throat resembling a yell.
Three of them flew off, their tails practically stuck in between their legs. Your anxiety spiked again until you found one Ikran still standing in front of you, its head turning towards you as it noticed you out of the corner of its eye. Its large yellow eyes zoned in on your predatory stance. You felt your ears flatten for a moment as you took in the creature. The large creature seemed to have the widest wingspan you had yet to have seen on an Ikran. Its skin was dark blue, so dark, it was almost black, resembling the night sky with bright purple and neon green markings.
“Shit,” you could hear Lo’ak from a few feet behind you as everyone else took in the Ikran’s large fangs and sharp talons.
You stood there, eyes widening in shock, tail flicking wildly behind you as the sound filtered over to you of someone smacking Lo’ak across the head. It was Neteyam no doubt. Shuffling awkwardly on your heels, you swung the rope around in your hand as the creature’s claws scratched at the ground beneath it. Its jaws were razor sharp and you felt something spark in you as it leaned its head back and opened its mouth wide revealing them. The hiss that erupted in your ears snapped you out of your daze and you watched as it stood up on its hind legs, snarling nonstop.
Tilting your head to the side, you felt all doubt, all fear be ripped free from your body. All that was left in its place was confidence in the form of adrenaline coursing through your veins. A small smirk formed across your face and Neteyam watched swelling with both pride and admiration, his eyes flicking back and forth from you to the beast before you. As the Ikran let out another loud screech, your ears flattened across your head, nose wrinkling as you revealed your fangs and hissed — a challenge you were displaying to the Ikran.
“You gotta move, Y/N,” Jake said, lowly under his breath, but you heard it, as your entire body broke free from the hold the Ikran’s gaze had on it.
“Let’s do this,” you mumbled, swinging the rope around in your hand as you stepped forward toward the Ikran.
Just as you took another step forward, the creature jumped forward, its mouth opening revealing its teeth again. It chomped trying to get a hold of you but your reflexes were too fast. You dodged it by leaping to the side and swinging the rope over the Ikran’s snout. It yelled, the scream high pitched, as the rope wrapped completely around its jaw locking it shut. You swung a leg over the creature, wrapping yourself around its neck. Arms locked around its head you struggled as the Ikran began to panic.
It stood upon its hind legs, wings flapping rapidly as its head thrashed back against you. Your grip kept slipping from around the Ikran, leaving strings of noises to slip from your mouth as it flapped around obnoxiously. Neteyam moved closer but still kept a reasonable distance between you and the beast. He hissed under his breath as he felt your window closing.
“Make the bond!” he yelled.
With one arm banded across the Ikran’s snout, you groaned as you reached for its queue, all strength leaving your body slowly as you continued to battle the large animal. As you felt the smooth skin of the queue within your fingers, the Ikran growled and threw its head back. Connecting with your body, you felt your grip loosen from the animal and disappear completely.
A yell erupted from your throat as you bounced off the back of the Ikran and collided with the hard ground. Your side hit the harsh material with a thud and you hissed out in pain as you felt it scratch against your skin. Legs limply on the ground and chest heaving up and down, you peered up at the Ikran as it slowly turned around to face you.
The rope was still tightly bound around its mouth but it was clear that your attempts had only pissed it off. It tried to break free from the constriction around its jaw but stopped for a moment when the cable didn’t snap. Its eyes found your frame on the ground, laying on your back, leaning upon your elbows. Body shaking, you were trying to catch your breath as the Ikran stalked forward, claws ripping holes into the ground. Remaining completely still, you peered up at it, eyes narrowed and a glare reflected across your face. This was the moment, the challenge at hand, the turning point of your entire life.
Win or lose?
Live or die?
Lo’ak bounded forward, trying to get to you, but he was stopped by his brother throwing an arm across his chest. Neteyam’s eyes had never left you and though his heart was clenching within his chest, a greater feeling had appeared within him. One that felt as if it had been sent from Eywa. A reminder of your strength, your fierceness, and the warrior that had formed deep within your bones. A smirk formed on his face as he watched the intensity in your eyes increase.
Your gold eyes hadn’t moved from the Ikran and as you looked deep into its black pupils, you saw your whole life flash across your eyes like a movie. Your father’s death. The great war, that convinced your mother to flee back to Earth. A newborn baby unable to travel within Cryo. A childhood stolen in replace of living in the confines of a lab. Spider’s resentment towards you. A human body you refused to accept as a reflection of who you were as a person. Arriving at the village, the constant judgments and fear sent your way from the villagers. The word alien being branded across your forehead.
It all had led to that moment and it all reflected back at you as you were able to see your reflection within the Ikran’s eyes. Smooth blue skin, gold eyes, white freckles, and a challenging curl to your lips. You, this was the real you.
One of the people or an outsider?
Ears twitching, your stare became deadly as you pushed out another hiss from your throat, the sound igniting your whole body with all of the energy and trust you had left. Just as the Ikran bounded forward, lifting its body, claws glistening in the sunlight. You tucked and rolled to the side out of the way just as the beast slammed its feet down into the spot you initially had been.
Moving quickly, you jumped up upon a rock and leaped for the Ikran. With a huff, you grabbed onto the animal, hand locking around its queue. Your legs folded across the Ikran’s head, tucking it in closer to its body as the creature flopped down onto its side. With your shoulder digging into the ground, you yelled out in pain as you reached behind for your own queue. Tilting the Ikran’s queue upwards, you moved yours towards it and felt your whole body relax as the pink nerve endings finally connected.
Chest still heaving up and down, your body collapsed for a moment as the Ikran’s pupils widened dilating. It convulsed again, as your hands wrapped tightly around the rope, “Stop!”
The Ikran’s body fell limp, relaxing at your words, and within a matter of seconds, its breathing leveled out. Staring down at the creature, a smile appeared across your lips, as it stared back at you and you were able to feel the way your heartbeats moved in sync with one another. Its breath you could feel within your lungs and it relaxed under your touch.
Kneeling over the Ikran’s neck, you felt the dirt sticking to your legs as you reached for the rope locked around its jaw. It loosened and slowly the Ikran rose from the ground, stretching out its mouth. It purred underneath your palms as the Ikran slowly stood up, taking you with it. Your feet were lifted off the ground, and you settled back against the base of the creature’s back, readjusting your grip.
Cheers were heard and as you looked up, you found the young hunters pumping their fists in the air and yelling your name. Jake was grinning from ear to ear, a look of pride swelling on his face. The same look both of his sons got when they completed their Iknimaya. Neteyam stood, shoulders pulled back, chest puffed out with the same look that his father displayed but somehow his tugged at your heart more.
He stepped forward as if he was going to approach you, but he stopped as Lo’ak blew past him. A large smile occupied his face, but you couldn’t stop yourself from glancing over his shoulder to his brother instead.
“First flight seals the bond," Lo’ak let out a yell and in an instant, there was a flash of blue and green and his Ikran was landing right beside yours. He hopped on, connecting his queue to the animal, before flying off into the sky, “Y/N, come on.”
You waited for a moment, stuck in a place where you weren’t sure where to go — almost as if your heart was split in half. Neteyam stood in the same spot, his eyes having never left yours and from where he stood he could practically feel the anticipation buzzing through your skin.
He wanted more than anything for it to be him — to be the one you would fly through the sky with on your first flight. After so many months of teaching you and spending endless nights under the trees by the river, he hoped it could be him. But at that moment it wasn’t; even though it was Lo’ak he couldn’t steal this experience from you. He wouldn’t, especially since he knew what it was like to be in your position.
Even when a part of you wanted him to give you a reason to stay and wait for him and his Ikran, you also couldn’t deny how restless you felt there on that rock. He could see it on your face, clear as day, like how he had seemed to learn every other one of your mannerisms in the last half of the year. Biting onto your lower lip, you couldn’t stop the way your eyes had softened over time as you had gotten to know this young man, who somehow had snuck up behind you and stole your heart.
It was something you hadn’t fully realized until that moment when he smiled over at you, his fangs poking out just past his lips. It wasn’t until he looked up after his brother and nodded his head in the direction, clicking his tongue softly in the air as if he was giving you permission.
Curling your fingers, you brought your hand up near your forehead and extended it out towards him. I see you.
With that you called out to your Ikran, the word fly falling from the tip of your tongue. It took off into the sky, wings extended out to their full length, as it dove straight down off of the mountain. Neteyam ran forwards towards the edge and peered down into the clouds where you and your Ikran had disappeared. But then in a matter of seconds, the clouds broke apart and you appeared again. Soaring through the sky, he watched as the Ikran leveled out, the image of your last action leaving an imprint in his mind and a permanent smile on his face.
Jake had been right once, in his video log. A direhorse was one thing but flying an Ikran, a person was made for this. You were made for this. With your feet perched along the Ikran’s sides, your hands clutched around its queues, giving quiet commands — it was as if you were at peace, completely free from the cage that your human body had turned into, free from the past that had plagued your memories, and the expectations that a dream walker held.
Feeling the wind on your face and the sun soaking into your skin, you were brought back to that first day with the avatar, when you first walked out of the lab. It felt just like this, able to take a deep breath without the need for an oxygen mask. It was a freedom and a privilege, just as this was.
As you looked around at the floating mountains, and the other banshees floating around you, you knew it then at that moment that you belonged there. You were a warrior, a rider, an Omatikaya, and in one way or another you were going to convince Mo’at of that and every other Na’vi. She was going to approve your request for the transfer ritual if it was the last thing you would ever do.
You had heard him before you saw him. A yell and then an echo across the sky followed by a shadow above you. Looking up, you found Lo’ak smiling down at you, the same look in his eye that you knew filled yours. The look of an Omatikaya rider. He veered left and then swooped down, his Ikran bumping into yours lightly. You gasped, hands instinctively tightening around your Ikran’s queues as your balance shifted.
Looking back over to Lo’ak, you found him laughing, a devious expression the only way you could describe it on his face. Withholding your own smile, silently you advised your Ikran to lean to the right, straight into Lo’ak’s lane. Your Ikran’s wings bumped into his lightly causing him to bank off to avoid the two of you colliding. When he looked over at you, you couldn’t help but let your head lean back as your sweet laugh escaped your throat.
You flew like that for a while, him casually bumping into you just to either get on your nerves or hear your laugh again. And somehow even though you wished Neteyam was still there to share that moment with you, you couldn’t help but indulge in the happiness you felt to be with Lo’ak — your long-time friend, the boy who had been flirting with you senselessly, but someone who would never once give up on you. He was loyal and even with your heart wishing for something else entirely, you knew it was a special moment to share with him.
Hours had gone by and finally, as the sun began to fall from the sky, Lo’ak had gotten your attention. You thought maybe he would lead you home, back to the village, but instead, he nodded his head in another direction, back into the floating mountains. Even with your lack of direction, you knew it wasn’t the right way, but you followed him anyway. He landed on one that had seemed so random to you, but you followed, commanding your Ikran to land.
Listening, it came to a stop near his, and for a moment before you got down from the creature, you looked over to Lo’ak still sitting upon his, and the largest smile formed across your face. Giggling, you shook your head in utter disbelief at the events that had happened the last few hours that were real and now engraved within your memory and soul forever. A look of his own formed across his face as both of your laughter faded.
He tilted his head to the side, something in his eyes completely different than anything you had seen before, a fondness of sorts, “Look at you, girl! You’re a natural already.”
His gaze was soft, too soft, you knew that. You looked away suddenly dismounting from the Ikran, letting your queue disconnect for the first time in hours. Letting out a soft breath, Lo’ak followed suit and he approached you to find you already staring over the edge at the fast-setting sun.
He chuckled, “This was where Neteyam and I both went when we each completed our Iknimaya. We flew for hours unable to convince one another to return home to the village. Even when he had completed his a few years before I did, he always flew like it was his first time — like we both could stay up here forever.”
You slowly turned your head to face him, his words drawing you in. He smiled at the memory, “Then even after we had been flying for hours unend we would come here, to this spot, and watch the sunset, the evening eclipse. Shit, you should have seen how mad our mom used to get at us when we would return home after dark. It was scary, honestly.”
“You still do that?” you asked suddenly, your own voice surprising you, “Fly together long after dark.”
Lo’ak shook his head, his smile slipping from his face just as quickly as it had appeared, “No, at least not with Neteyam. For the last year or so, he's been too busy with training. His focus is entirely put on our father and the role of being the future Olo’eyktan. Dad has him on a tight schedule.”
“But what about now? He is done training me. Shouldn't he have some extra time now?”
“No, because even if he won't be spending all day every day with you, he'll have other things to worry about. Olo'eyktan things with my father; raids, runs, lookouts, spotting.”
You nodded, his words making you once again realize, that this was it. Neteyam had done his job and no longer would you be spending days with him in the forest learning the language, hunting, or about the energies of the world. No more nights sneaking off into the forest just to breathe, away from the pressures the adults presented. He had done what was asked of him — teach you the ways of the Omatikaya.
“Yeah, I guess that would make sense,” you replied, unable to stop the ache that appeared in your chest or the need to pull on the tips of your fingers.
He examined the expression on your face and the disappointment that seemed to flood your system. He couldn’t help his next statement from slipping out of his mouth. “Yeah, so it's a good thing my mom and grandmother are choosing his mate for him? Because I don't know if he would ever have the time to do it himself."
“Hm, the next Tsahik, right? It’s an important role and an important choice. That will be happening soon then?”
“Yes, I think so, at least announced soon anyway. Mo'at has been looking for quite a while,” Lo’ak agreed, suddenly leaning closer to you as the thought once again plagued his mind of what he had overheard days ago. “Have you thought about it at all?”
Your brows knitted together as his question filtered through your ears. Looking away from the eclipse, you matched his stare, a questioning look filling your eyes as an unsure chuckle rumbled within your throat, “Thought about what?”
He was quiet then, eyes narrowing as they suddenly scanned your face, unsure if he should clarify what he had asked. Lo’ak turned to you fully, reaching out as if he was going to take your hands in his but then after a moment, they dropped back to his sides, a defeated sigh falling from his lips.
“Are you asking me about—”
“A mate?” he cut you off, “Yes.”
“What?” You sputtered out, eyes widening suddenly as your stomach tightened at the sudden shift in conversation. “Lo’ak—”
“I am asking you about whether or not you’ve thought about it,” he clarified, voice once again silencing yours as his bright eyes never seemed to leave yours, “You’re already eighteen and—”
“Lo’ak, stop,” you said, lifting a hand and sure enough his voice fell silent with the rest of his thought driting away to the back of his mind. “You and I both know that I can’t be mated with anyone. It is wrong.”
“But not impossible. You can. It’s just frowned upon.”
Your mouth fell open agape, afraid of where he was going with the words he had so clearly admitted to you. The way he was looking at you as he said it left a feeling in your stomach, almost as if it was dread, twisting away at your insides.
Yes, it wasn’t impossible, but Neytiri had explicitly warned you how wrong it was and what kinds of problems it would cause. Especially, considering Mo’at had denied your request, it would be even worse if you mated with someone without any of their blessings, defying their direct set rules.
It also wasn't Lo’ak that came to mind when you put in the request. Sure a large part of you could always say you went to Mo'at for yourself, for the health you were currently lacking when you left the village at night and returned to the lab, but there was another reason — another person. It had never been and would never be Lo’ak.
“I mean it clearly has crossed your mind if you went and saw Mo’at. You asked her about the transfer ritual, right?”
Eyes narrowing in his direction, you held your ground, body tensing as he revealed that he somehow had known. Known that you had gone to see the Tsahik and asked her about the consciousness transfer. He knew and suddenly a panic filled your body. What else could he have known? The reality is there's so much he doesn't know, so that plagued you with the question.
You shook your head, annoyance evident in your tone, “Lo’ak, how did you…”
“I heard you,” he admitted without a moment of hesitation, “I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop but when I heard your voice with Mo’at I was curious. Then you mentioned the transfer ritual, and I couldn’t help myself but listen.”
You exhaled, somewhat frustrated, a sudden notion to get back on your Ikran and escape back into the forest and to the village. Your body had already used up its stored energy for the day and you knew the night would be hell when you returned to your human body. But as annoyed as you were that he had heard the request you had put in with Mo’at, you were interested in why he had brought this up. Why he had chosen to mention it to you — let alone the part about mates?
“What are you trying to say?”
He smirked then as if he had come up with the most brilliant plan but it only left your body feeling cold and slightly worried, “All I am trying to say is that you will become full Na’vi and that means you will be able to be chosen as someone’s mate.”
“Lo’ak,” you warned suddenly, able to follow his thinking after having known him for so many years, “Please.”
He ignored your quiet plea for him to be careful with his words as your eyes fluttered to a close. His hands taking a hold of your arms bought your gaze back to his. A small smile appeared on his lips, “What if we became mates? What if we chose each other?”
A pin dropped as well as your stomach, as if you were back on your Ikran diving down within the sky, waiting for the air to shift. This didn’t feel like it was going to level out like the air or register in your ears anytime soon. You stared forward at him, scared to look away, scared to break the hope that filled his eyes.
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah, I mean the idea is kind of all over the place, but think of it this way. My parents can’t choose my mate for me and you don’t have to deal with all of the assholes in the village that obviously aren’t good enough for you,” he explained, his hand drifting up to cup your face, “Plus, you want to stay, don’t you? No matter what happens you want to stay here with us, right? Like this, in this form?”
“Lo’ak.”
He was quiet for a moment, thumb softly bruising along your temple, gaze staring deep into yours. “We could be happy, Y/N. Just you and me.”
You found yourself studying the ground, suddenly feeling sick and like a complete mess as your mind somehow wandered to the one person that seemed to never leave it. Neteyam, the future Olo’eyktan. The very man who would have his Tsahik chosen for him by Mo’at and Eywa herself. The very man who would have the perfect match — a woman who was strong, incredibly smart, and a gifted healer. A Tsahik that was selfless and would provide for her people. That wasn’t you. You knew it. Lo’ak knew it. He hadn’t brought up Neteyam again but the hesitancy in your eyes, the anxious thoughts that had slipped from your tongue, he knew was because of his older brother. His older brother who was already spoken for.
“Lo’ak, where is this coming from?” you asked, hand reaching up to hold his wrist in your hand, a confused look on your face.
He was hesitant to answer, seen in the way, his eyes shifted to the sky behind you. You made a displeased noise and his eyes found yours again, a smile forming because you knew him all too well after so many years.
“We have been friends for a long time now. For seven years I've always been used to it being us and Kiri and Spider. But somehow even with everyone, we found time just for us. I don’t know, I guess I just feel like I don’t see you as much as I used to.”
“Yeah, well a couple of things are different now. Huge things,” You chuckled, hand reaching up to take his hand from your face, interlacing it in yours.
His eyes followed your movement and stared down at your large blue hand that fit suddenly so perfectly in his compared to your human one that had always felt so awkward. He had never been great at communicating the hard stuff or admitting when something was bothering him, so you knew this was his way of saying that he missed you. With all of the sudden changes, he was struggling with accepting them.
“I’m also not locked away in a lab anymore, I am here with you. Things are going to be different, Lo’ak but it doesn’t mean our friendship is going to change.”
“I guess I just am not used to sharing you,” he admitted, a flush appearing on his face and it made you realize exactly who he was referring to. Neteyam. “What, outsider and outcast together, you don't want that?"
You sighed, his joke not pulling enough strings in your heart to change your initial apparent feelings. You knew what Lo'ak thought and you knew that he wasn’t going to willingly drop this without you taking the time to fully contemplate it even if his intentions weren’t romantic. You inhaled, the depth enough to reach your core, as his warmly coated stare seemed to engulf you whole.
His attempts were not poorly identified, casted by his loyalty to you but his execution was suffocating you. Where he could be a consolation prize, you be only an entrapment for him. He deserved more than you. “Lo'ak wouldn’t you want to be mates with someone that you love though? I mean do you even feel that way about me?”
He ignored your question and somehow that was an answer in itself.
“Look, I am not worried about spending the rest of my life with someone I may not feel for as my parents do with each other. Because I know this, us — we could make it work. Do you know why I am so sure about that? Because we have been friends for so long and it wouldn’t be so bad. We could take care of each other, be just as we are now, and build a future for ourselves. And if that's what settling for a life with you, looks like, then I’ll take it,” he paused, voice lowering as a smile fell across his lips, “I would rather settle for that than go along with whoever my parents choose for me. Plus I want you to stay, Y/N.”
His words hit you like a ton of bricks and suddenly just as you thought everything had become so clear, so free from the downfalls of life, reality hit you again. It shifted and all of your problems returned led by an entirety of new ones. Because there's always a choice that has to be made; choose other people, choose to make them happy, or choose yourself even if there is no assurance that it'll all work out for you. Do you decide to take that risk?
Staring in the face of that question, it felt as if thousands of arrows were coming straight for you, its toxicity was inevitable and it would pierce into you, refusing to ever be pulled free from your skin. Yet, everything he said was so true, so undeniably true, but it all left you feeling uneasy for one reason only, one person only.
It was supposed to be a moment of relief, a moment where you were swelling with pride as you had completed Iknimaya. You were hours away from your ceremony with the people. The most important day of your entire life and one you had been thinking about for years. An accomplishment that would be encased in the back of your mind, as you were only the second dream walker to have ever done it.
It was supposed to be your moment but now because of this eclipse, this mountain, this ride — your moment would remain bittersweet, overclouded by Lo’ak’s proposal.

Neteyam Saving You As You Fall Off Lo’ak’s Ikran (SFW)
Reader is Fem! Omaticaya
CW: Near Death Experience, angst if you squint, Neteyam is incredibly angry, happy ending, passionate kiss ( this is a little ways into the future so the boys are a little older, but the events of TWOW never happened )
Tumblr media
“Lo’ak, we need to head home. It’s past eclipse, and your father will wring both our necks if we do not come back on time,” you tried to reason, your hand shaking as you reached for the next rock on your climb up Ayram Alusìng.
“You worry too much, (y/n),” he smiled, waving you off as he hooked his foot on a nearby stone. “We’re almost there, so we might as well see this through. And once we get up there, we’ll be quick.”
“We will be quick about nothing,” you corrected, tone scolding, “I have already told you this, I have no wish to fly on an ikran. I am only here to ensure your safety.”
You and the youngest Sully son had spent half the day climbing the Hallelujah mountains so you could have a super tall jumping off point with Lo’ak’s ikran.
You tried telling him that you had plans with Neteyam tonight ( you two were going to go stargazing ), but Lo’ak said that he’d just go on his own. But you knew how reckless the boy could be, and didn’t want him to get hurt and be on his own.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be done before you know it,” his promise echoed through your head, now feeling foolish that you even remotely believed him.
And although you have told him many times that just because you are there, does not mean you are going to jump off anything, it seems to go in one ear and out the other.
Like most things for Lo’ak do.
“Oh, my safety?” he scoffed, an amused smirk playing on his lips.
You rolled your eyes, pinching his ankle, hard.
“Ow!” “Just keep climbing.”
He hooked his arm on the ledge, hoisting himself up onto it before rolling over on his stomach, resting his cheek in his palm as he watched you climb up the rocks.
“Ay! Lo’ak! What’re you doing?! Help me up!” you shouted, nervous.
You had been climbing all day, making the muscles in your arms sore and weak. You could feel yourself slightly slipping with every passing second.
“I think I’d rather watch you struggle,” he chuckled, smiling down at you.
He hadn’t noticed this.
Feeling your hand loosing it’s grip, you frantically looked around, trying to find something else to grab hold to.
“Lo’a-!” With a gasp, your hand slipped significantly, causing you to lose your footing and break off the rock that was keeping your feet in place.
“Shit!” Lo’ak exclaimed, quickly grabbing your forearm and pulling you up before you could fall off.
You flopped onto the piece of rock, panting as you stared up at the night sky, almost certain that you saw Eywa for a moment.
“(y/n), are you okay?” he asked, laying down next to you.
You huffed aggressively out your nose, holding up your finger in a gesture you saw Jake do once.
You didn’t know exactly what it meant, but it showed anger towards another, and that’s all you needed.
Lo’ak laughed loudly, standing himself up and looking down at your tired figure with a smile. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
He walked over to his ikran, making tsaheylu, before hopping on, turning around to face you.
“Are you coming?”
“Lo’ak. I am going to say this one final time,” you sighed as you stood up, trying to keep your composure.
“I will never,” you took a step closer.
“Ever,” another.
“Fly on an ikran,” you took a large one, poking a finger in his chest.
A smirk quirked on his lips as he hooked his arm around your waist and plopped you on the seat behind him, taking off before you could protest.
The ikran shot into the air quickly, making you scream of fright.
“WHOOOOO!” Lo’ak cheered as it flew straight up, going higher and higher and higher.
You paused your screams, turning around to look down, only to see the forest canopy far, far, far, below.
And with that, you fainted, falling off banshee.
“(Y/N)!” Lo’ak shouted, quickly turning around and diving for you.
The true reason why you wouldn’t fly was now revealed: you were deathly afraid of heights.
The Ayram Alusìng was the highest you’ve ever gone, and even that took an extreme amount of courage to conquer.
Your eyes fluttering open, you realized that you were free-falling, letting out another scream.
Lo’ak was too far above you to catch up, though he was frantically trying, and since you never took part in the Iknimaya, you didn’t have your own ikran to call out to.
This couldn’t be Eywa’s plan for you, to die so violently. You still had much in your life to complete, like your Tsahik training with Mo’at, or your hunting lessons with Neytiri.
Or Neteyam.
Oh, Eywa. You were going to die and never see him again. Never hold him again, never treat his wounds again, never see his smile again.
Tears welled in your eyes as you looked down again, the canopy getting closer and closer with every second.
You curled yourself into a ball, preparing yourself for the impact.
All other noise faded away, the rushing wind, the flap of an ikran, Lo’ak’s shouts, all fell on deaf ears.
“Great Mother, please give Neteyam a life of happiness when I am gone.”
And just as a tree was nearly a hair away, a familiar ikran swooped below you, two, strong arms catching you and holding you in a death grip.
Immediately recognizing the scent of your mate, you started to silently cry, resting your head on his chest.
“Neteyam,” you sniffled, curling into him.
“Mawhey, (y/n). I am here,” he assured, stroking your hair as he pulled the reigns, landing back on the mountain.
Lo’ak landed soon after and Neteyam jumped off the ikran, grabbing his brother off his and punching him in the face.
“Neteyam!” you exclaimed, shocked as you got off the banshee as well.
“Skxawng! What were you thinking?! (y/n) would have been killed had I not come in time!” he shouted, grabbing Lo’ak’s shoulders roughly.
Lo’ak looked ashamed, but inside he was relieved that you were alright.
You were his best friend. And if you died because of him, he could never forgive himself.
“Thank Eywa I felt something horribly wrong when you did not show up at our meeting place,” Neteyam looked at your saddend figure, a flicker of anger in his eyes still reserved for you.
“But you!” he turned back to Lo’ak. “How could you put my mate in danger?!”
“I did not mean to! We were flying as she fainted, but I didn’t notice she fell off until she was already far ahead of me!” Lo’ak feverishly explained.
He hadn’t seen his brother this angry in a long time.
Neteyam sucked his teeth, scoffing as he aggressively let go of Lo’ak.
“Go home. Now,” he order darkly, giving his brother one final glare.
Lo’ak hung his head, turning around and hopping back on his ikran.
He looked to you sadly, in silent apology, and you nodded, giving him the faintest of smiles.
You knew he never meant any harm, this just happened to be an incredibly close call.
As he flew away, Neteyam walked over to you, taking your hands in his.
“As for you,” he started, looking deeply into your eyes. “I heard you in the sky. Your prayer to Eywa.”
You turned way from him, ashamed.
“How can you think that I will ever be happy if you are dead?” his tone offended as he rested his forehead against yours.
“You are my Tsahik, my mate. I could never be truly happy without you by my side.”
“I see you, Neteyam,” you sadly smiled, softly placing your hand on his cheek. “And I am sorry.”
“I see you, (y/n),” he said back, his voice becoming deep as he lifted your chin. “And it is okay.”
And in a flood of emotion, you pulled him in by the nape of his neck, kissing him passionately.
He returned it, tilting his head and pulling you closer by your waist.
You both stayed like this, exchanging your relief before pulling apart, the safety of each other now returned.
And as you looked up at him lovingly, his beautiful smile now rested on his lips.
“Don’t think that kiss has saved you,” he smirked.
You playfully rolled your eyes, your smile growing as well as he scooped you up bridal style, carrying you towards his ikran.

Please let me know which ones i've missed because these are just ones that I have taken from my own playlist!
The music is the number one most important part of goth subculture and you don't have to dress goth to be goth... but it sure is fun to do so! Goth fashion holds its roots in thrifting, upcycling and sustainable fashion (buying 'goth' clothes from shein, dollskill and killstar is a big no no).
Anyone can style their gothic outfits however they like but here are some examples of different styles:
Trad(itional) Goth:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Romantic Goth:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Victorian Goth:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The styles can get very similar so let me know if i’ve mixed any up!
I’ve reached the limit on the number of pictures i can add so here are some more examples of goth styles:
Corporate goth
Gothabilly
Mall Goth
Cyber Goth
J-Goth
Baby Bat
Mopey Goth
Vampire Goth
Steam punk
To end the post i'm circling back to gothic literature by listing some films too (which are often based on the books)
Everyone's beloved: Bela Lugosi in the first adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1931
Tumblr media
The Crow 1994 which comes with a song from The Cure
Tumblr media
Interview with the Vampire 1994
Tumblr media
The Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975
Tumblr media
Edward Scissor Hands 1990
Tumblr media
The Addams family 1991 (if he's not like gomez then i don't want him)
Tumblr media
The Craft 1996

That's all I have for now and if you made it this far thank you so much for reading and have a nice day <3
current goth song on repeat:

Could you please do one where Ronal and Tonowari react to the reader or OC, which ever is more your thing, having lots of battle scars from the war in the first movie? 🧁❤️ I love your writing! It’s so awesome to read and I can’t wait for the next part of your Tonowari x Ronal x OC fanfic!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Stunning, beautiful, elegant. Gifs by @stallislump )
Pairing: Ronal/Reader/Tonowari
Taglist: @mooniequeen
Warnings: non-gender specific reader, fluff, mentions of war, scars, heavily implied stuff (nsfw? idk, but I'd read this at work)
Na'vi Words: ikran - mountain banshee, olo'eyktan - male clan leader, tsahik - spiritual clan leader, kelku - house/home
A/N: This is short but sweet. I hope you like it! (Note: Stand alone! Not a part of the tsamsiyu ta'em series)
~~~~~~~~~
They had noticed your scars the first day they met you, a Na'vi flying in on an ikran alongside the gunship Jakesully had radioed in to help Young Kiri. They knew Sky People were coming, but they weren't expecting you.
The Metkayina have heard many stories about the clans that came together under Toruk Makto's leadership. Even from as far as the reef, the Na'vi heard about the war with the Sky People and the casualties left behind. Such war and casualties were shown on your skin, displayed like a story. Long, thin, cut-like marks ran up and down your legs and part of your torso, while small, circular scars riddled your right shoulder and chest. The skin that healed over your wounds was a pale blue compared to the rest of your skin and stripes. When Toruk Makto introduced you to the olo'eyktan and tsahik of the Metkayina, they couldn't take their eyes off of you.
Your style and the colors of your attire were not of Omatikaya. Tonowari and Ronal later learn that you were originally from the Tayrangi clan but stayed with the Omatikaya after the war. As they got to know you, they learned that your family members were great warriors but had tragically died in the battle of the Hallelujah Mountains. After their deaths, you saw no reason to return home with your clan and made a life for yourself in the forests with Toruk Makto's clan.
Considering you as an entrusted friend and ally, Jake had asked you to stay in Awa'atlu for a little while so he would feel more secure and able to protect his family. And while you stayed among the Metkayina, both Tonowari and Ronal grew closer to you and wished to learn more about you and your stories... specifically the story behind your scars.
Originally, you didn't feel inclined to share the story, simply stating that you earned your scars in the battle against the Sky People. However, as you grew closer to the Metkayina clan leaders, you began to let yourself be more open and vulnerable toward them, which is where you find yourself sitting with the pair, alone in their kelku. It was a late night and their children were out with the Sully children to show them the beauty of night fishing.
It was Tonowari who boldly reached his hand out and gently grazed a scar on your shoulder, his thumb tenderly pressing into the raised, circular mark. "Who did this to you?"
"The Sky People," you found yourself saying without hesitance, "I fell off my ikran and survived," you originally pointed to the long, thin scars you earned from falling and crashing, then you moved onto the rounded scars around your shoulder, "These scars are from their weapons made of metal. They call them guns and bullets. Any closer and they would have pierced my heart."
Neither of the clan leaders looked pleased by that statement, and Ronal took her husband's boldness a step further. The tsahik leaned down and placed a chaste kiss over a bullet-shaped scar that was located near your collar, her warm lips leaving behind a tingle underneath your skin when she pulled away.
The look she gave you sent your heart racing, her gaze heated and foggy as she stared at you through her lashes, "Thank the Great Mother that they didn't."
One thing led to another and you found yourself in the pair's undivided attention all throughout the night, together learning where each and every one of your scars were located on your body. While you weren't necessarily self-conscious about the scars (you were mostly proud and showed them off as proof that you survived and won a war), you had begun shying away from their touch whenever they got too close to any specific markings. But over time, throughout the night, you began to relax and feel safe, allowing the two Reef Na'vi to explore you in ways you've never felt before.
smart man, smarter mouth
tsu'tey x na'vi!reader
in which jake tells tsu’tey about some of the more intimate ways earth people mate
warnings: this is pure filth, minors PLEASE do not interact
a/n: i seem to write smut much quicker than angst so requests open! please nothing weird for the younger kiddos, i dont feel comfy writing that :)
Mated life with Tsu’tey was bliss. He was caring and attentive to you in all ways. Never eating too much food until you had your fill. Letting you lead the way in decorating your home. He had even gone so far as letting you name the new banshee he bonded with after the War.
The way he treated you in the domestic roles of your relationship definitely carried over into the more intimate side of it. He was what the elder ladies of the clan called- a giver. He was all hands, tongue, and teeth when he had the chance. Tsu’tey enjoyed mating like any other male, but he especially enjoyed it when he knew you were just as hungry for him as he was for you.
The two of you weren’t shy about sex. It was a normal thing to do, but it seemed like something was missing. You had heard of the things Jake and Neytiri had been doing behind closed doors. Neytiri was not afraid to share the intimate details of her mating with Toruk Makto. She often snipped about how his smart mouth had other uses to her. The things you learned had you more than a little interested in experiencing them yourself.
You just didn’t know how to broach the subject with Tsu’tey, but thanks to the insufferable Jake Sully you wouldn’t have to.
—-——————————-
One rainy evening you laid around the small fire in the middle of your home. Your mate at your back, strong arms thrown over you. You had not anticipated him wanting to mate this eve. He had a rough hunt today and the weather didn’t help his somewhat sour mood.
You didn’t know what exactly caused the puckered look on his face, but he had worn it since he arrived back to high camp. Knowing how he could be, you decided not to press. He would share when he was ready, you just didn’t expect it to be so soon.
Settling into your mates arms, his breath fanning lightly against your neck-you heard him let out a deep sigh.
“What troubles you my yawne? You do not seem like yourself?” you lightly asked, playing with his large hands.
You watched as he balled his fist over and over, going tense at your back. Almost as if at war with himself.
Tsu’tey stayed quiet for several moments, before his deep voice replied, “There was something interesting Jake mentioned today. About how people of Earth would mate.”
“Oh? Do they not mate as we do?” you questioned, heart pounding as Neytiri's words swam to the forefront of your thoughts.
He sat still for a what felt like eternity, seeming to be searching for the right words, “He says that they will use their mouths on each other. All over each other and I think I would like to try that with you. If it’s fine with you yawne.”
Suddenly you were very aware of every place your skin connected, especially his hard groin pressing into your back. The air in your tent felt smothering as Tsu’tey ran his hands along your still form.
“I-I do not mind. I would like to know. If you’re sure?” you answered through a shaky breath.
With your now spoken permission, he was like a man possessed. Flipping you underneath him, his lips met yours in a fiery kiss as he pressed his full weight into you.
“Do you feel that my yawne? Do you feel how excited I am to please you?” he growled into your lips, slightly rocking his hips against yours.
Before you had the chance to answer he was nipping and sucking at all the skin in his path downwards, leaving dark purple marks that you were sure would be noticeable tomorrow.
Your body felt like it was on fire from the attention he was giving it. Minutes felt like hours as Tsu’tey took his time reaching the band of your loincloth. You nearly jumped when you felt his sharp fangs graze the soft skin of your navel. Peeking downwards you were rewarded with your mates lustful eyes as he pressed his long nose against your clothed cunt.
A wave of arousal flooded you as you watched him inhale deeply, before pushed your loincloth out of the way. The cold air against your hot folds was enough to make you whine loudly, wanting any kind of friction you could get.
The first lick was tentative, him unsure of how you would react. But the loud moan that ripped from you lips, had him digging in like a man starved.
You didn’t even have a word to describe it, your mind completely blank as he worked his tongue and lips along your sex. Below you could feel the slight move of his body, most likely rocking himself into the soft furs to relieve a bit of tense. Knowing what he was doing and the feeling was otherworldly, you felt like you were floating.
Until he nipped at the little bud that sat atop her folds, resulting in you fiercely grabbing his braids. The sharp tug you gave his hair, pulling a muffled groan from the man below you. The vibrations directly on your clit quickly overwhelming you. It didn’t take much more for you to reach your high as his large hands came up to knead your heaving breasts. Pushing your top out of the way, he twisted one as he also paid special attention to your clit.
 Your orgasm hitting you like a direhorse as you pulled even harder on his hair. A low moan mixed in with your more high-pitched one and you knew what had happened. Tsu’tey came from what he was doing to you.
Neytiri was right, his smart mouth really did have other uses.
obsessed with the idea of seelie faerie prince gojou, as charming and as tricksy as all fae are. his snow-white hair eye catching and his azure eyes like gems pressed into his flesh
seelie prince satoru whose very birth shook faerieland as foretold by the stars red, blue and purple stars that soared through the sky the night of his birth
seelie prince satoru who is much more observant than his penchant for revels and merrymaking belies
seelie prince satoru who relishes in obnoxiously getting under the skin of the gentry of his court with his radical ideas that challenge the traditions that have been established for centuries
seelie prince satoru whose court is filled with political strife between three major families- the gojou, zenin and kamo. and it's really just his look this particular luck that he's bleeding out after a particularly harrowing attempt on his life. must have been that petty bastard naoya but in this particular moment, numb from poison and with a bloodied torso it really isn't going to do him any good trying to figure out who sent the now dead assassin after him
he won't die from this, he's been developing an immunity to poison. but even so, this is tough on his body as he sits in a misty forest waiting for the poison to wear off on his body with the scent of iron strong in the air
that's when he sees something that any faerie would consider the worst omen ー he sees you.
faeries are immortal folk. unless someone goes out of their way to kill them, they never die. it's what makes them stronger, far further creatures than humans with their insect-length lifespans
seelie prince satoru who even with his eyes, it's difficult seeing you clearly with poison muddling his senses but he sees the tell-tell white hair and gray skin and he knows you're a banshee
seelie prince satoru who chuckles humorlessly as he accepts that apparently, his luck has run out
he's sure of this as you slowly come closer and closer until he sees you much more clearly. your eyes are bloodshot, as to be expected of your kind. but your eyes might be the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. they're a pale lilac and your pupils are a ghostly white, shockingly light against the reds of your eyes but even that looks beautiful. he never cared particularly for the color red before but in this moment he can understand why red caps crave the color so and satoru thinks that if he is going to hear those damning cries that will seal his fate in this instant, he's glad it's you
banshees were human women that died in grief, right? that died tragedy before the grace of the gods turned them fae. death is a beautiful look on you but he wonders what you'd look if you were still colored in the shades of life that once blossomed over you like spring blooms
and so you part your lips... but rather than wail and scream, announcing to the headless riders of faerie that death is near, death is coming for gojou satoru your eyebrows knit in worry and you ask
"are you alright?" as you kneel by his side, reaching for his wounds carefully. your voice is honestly akin to hearing birdsong in the night, a juxtaposition he wasn't prepared for. "here, let me help you"
apparently the seelie prince's luck is greater still. death won't come for him yet. instead, he's become a hypocrite. an unintelligent hypocrite but he can't quite seem to make himself care in this instance when he is tended to by your cold but gentle touch and your lark-like voice drips like honey from your lips.
whether it's folk or mortal, satoru likens love to a curse that makes those around him stupid. a curse that leads to betrayals, war and frankly too much strife he desires to deal with
yet in this moment, that very curse seemed to course through his veins
stupid is as stupid does, seelie prince satoru's lips part and he asks you as if enraptured in a spell "please marry me and i'll love you more faithfully than any man, fae or otherwise"
as for you... you're simply a banshee who just happened to be in this forest when you spotted an injured elf in the distance and decided to see if he'd accept your help if he didn't outright lose his mind in fear at the sight of you. you think he might have considering the words that left his mouth
it must be the blood loss talking
unfortunately for you and much to the aggravation of suguru and kento, seelie prince satoru's most trusted advisors, satoru was very much serious and fervently keeps referring to you as his future queen when you haven't even accepted the proposal
seelie prince satoru who insists you stay in his palace, at the very least until after a revel in a few moons time he wishes to throw in your honor. as thanks for treating his injuries which are still healing, might he add. anything could happen, what if a banshee needs to herald his death and one isn't around? he would also like the time to woo you over. please? just until then
seelie prince satoru who ignores the ardent whispers that it is bad luck for a banshee to be so close the prince. that insist that death fae are like roaches. surely if one appears, there will be more banshee and dullahan that follow
seelie prince satoru who coldly states that any such insult toward the woman who saved his life will find those who said them hearing the chilling cries they so fear sooner than they'd enjoy
sail across the ocean
neteyam x fem!omatikaya!pregnant!reader
summary: in which you must follow your mate to the metkayina village
warnings: pregnancy, fluff, mentions of sickness/illness
you and neteyam are 20.
find part two here
Tumblr media
going from learning to be a strong tsahìk to leaving your clan in just a few days was something you would have never imagined.
mo’at was a very wise soul. she immediately took you under her wing when you and neteyam had officially mated, wanting to train her grandson’s mate to become a good spiritual leader.
so as you sat in the healing tent with the older lady, you heard commotion coming from outside. tuk had opened the tent and said, “the war party has returned!”
being seven months pregnant, it was getting harder for you to be as active as you used to.
you carefully stood up, mo’at going to help you but you smiled at the woman. you waddled out of the tent, seeing jake scolding your mate and lo’ak.
neytiri stood behind her sons, her eyes hard as she stared at her husband. neteyam’s eyes met yours and he smiled, despite his father’s harsh words.
your face fell when you realized your mate was bleeding. the four sullys watched as you approached, neteyam taking your hand to help steady you.
“your mate almost died today.” jake told you firmly.
you looked at neteyam, a frown on your lips.
“my jake, stop. your son is actually bleeding. let y/n clean up neteyam.” neytiri said to her husband.
“dismissed.” jake said.
you lead your mate to the healing tent as he held the small of your back in his hand.
“what happened out there, my neteyam?”
“lo’ak wanted to go onto the battle field despite our orders of being spotters. skxawng (idiot) almost got me killed.”
mo’at gasped when she saw her grandson and ushered him into the tent. neteyam sat on a little pad as his grandmother began to tend to his wounds, you and kiri helping the woman.
you stroked neteyam’s head in a soothing way, the way he absolutely loved. he nuzzled his head into your hand, his tail coming up to connect with yours.
“you must be careful, grandson. with a prrnen (baby) on the way, you have to stay alive.”
“grandmother, you should really try this root. it will sting less.” kiri suggested to the woman as neteyam hissed.
“mawey (calm), my neteyam.”
the next few days seemed to pass by in a blur. with more frequent attacks from the sky people, neteyam’s stress was affecting you.
his father was getting harder on him, on you. the stress was causing your pregnancy to become more difficult, often having your son kick and give you constant pain.
but when jake approached you, the future tsahìk of the omatikayas, about joining his family to the metkayina village in order to keep them safe, it truly shocked you.
leave your people?
you knew that mating with neteyam, the future olo’eyktan, came some sacrifices that you were willing to make.
so, you helped neteyam pack up your little tent. his hand tightly gripped yours as you softly cried, jake’s title of olo’eyktan being given away.
you rubbed your belly with your free hand as your mate guided you to his ikran, where he helped you onto the banshee.
“hold on to me, my y/n.” neteyam grabbed your hands. you sat facing him, your pregnant belly resting against his stomach as you held him tightly against you.
neteyam hated leaving his clan, but knew going to awa’atlu would make you and your future child safe.
neytiri began a leaving call as neteyam and lo’ak followed, the drifting sound of the omatikayas getting further and further away as the family road.
the wind blew both your’s and neteyam’s braids softly, his ikran gliding through the air with such peace.
he communicated with the banshee to be as smooth as possible since you were on the ikran with him, his hand coming down to hold your hip.
➽─────────────────❥
“what if they don’t like us?” you asked your mate.
it had been a few hours into the flight and your tired mind had begun to wonder. you babbled all the thoughts and neteyam loved listening to every one.
that was something he loved most about you. you never cared to speak your mind or voice your opinion, even though sometimes it may get you into trouble.
“i am sure they will accept us when they see you are with child.” neteyam comforted. you looked into his yellow eyes, the eclipse illuminating them.
“your child.” you said matter-of-factly.
neteyam grinned.
“my child.” he placed his big hands onto your belly, feeling the way your son kicked against him.
you sat with your back against neteyam’s chest, leaning your head onto his shoulder as he rubbed your belly.
neytiri smiled when she saw the scene. it reminded her of when she was pregnant with neteyam.
the closer you guys approached the ocean the rougher the wind became.
ikrans shifting left and right, quick winds that were cold, rain mixing within splashing waves.
you were miserable, and on top of that, your pregnancy was making you feel ill. neteyam had given you his piece of fabric and tried to use his body heat to keep you warm, but you were still looking sick.
“how much longer?” you heard tuk ask neytiri in a whine.
you smiled weakly, still using your mate as a back rest. he made sure you were secure as you fell asleep, trying to get rid of the sickness eywa has put upon you.
the next time your eyes opened you were flying over awa’atlu, a conch shell being used to make an announcement of your arrival.
your eyes marveled at the clear ocean, seeing all the animals that filled the atmosphere along with the metkayina people themselves.
jake landed his ikran, bob, on a shore as the family followed. your body felt achy and weak as neteyam helped you, a gasp coming from the metkayinas from your wobbly legs.
tonowari, the clan leader, approached your family. his eyes gazed upon your belly as he began to speak with jake.
“please, my family needs shelter.”
neteyam rubbed your back, trying to soothe you against all the stares people were giving you. the judgement on your arms, legs, tail, and pregnant belly was driving you insane.
but as the tsahìk, ronal, approached with her own pregnant belly, the crowd began to back off.
she was feisty and although also pregnant, seemed to give your family no remorse.
“my husband was toruk makto. he led the clans to victory against the sky people.” neytiri said suddenly.
“this is what you call victory? running to strangers?” ronal hissed, causing neytiri to hiss back.
“please, my mate is pregnant and we need a place to stay. she fell ill from the travels.” neteyam spoke up.
ronal eyed you curiously, now approaching your shaking body. she pursed her lips, looking at her husband.
“come.” ronal spoke, guiding you to a marui pod as her daughter, tsireya, showed the other sully’s their own pod.
neteyam helped you walk as ronal guided you to lay down. the tsahìk began to perform a spiritual ritual, whooping into the air as she hummed and prayed to the great mother.
you let out a deep breath as eywa’s grace made you feel better, your body now at ease as your mate kissed your forehead.
“irayo (thank you).” neteyam lifted his hand to his eye, lowering it to show ronal his appreciation. she hummed back as neteyam helped you up.
“it is so beautiful.” you gasped, now feeling a million times better.
you ran your hand gently in the water, awing at the fish-like creatures.
neteyam smirked when he saw lo’ak blushing at tsireya. “i think little brother has a crush.”
you smiled at your mate’s antics.
“imagine lo’ak having a child with someone one day.”
neteyam’s nose scrunched in disgust at the thought of his brother, or any of his siblings, growing older.
“gross. for now, we are the only ones allowed to be with child.”
neteyam held your tummy once again, pressing kisses to your neck and shoulder as you giggled.
“i love you, my neteyam.”
“i love you, my y/n.”
One Kiss
One Kiss
Aged!up!Neteyam Sully x female!navi!Omatikaya!reader!
Both Neteyam and Reader are 17
Warnings: mentions of jerking off, use of nickname 'ma pretty girl', 'ma y/n' and 'ma pretty mate/ma mate', innocent!reader, teases of wet dreams, kissing, cussing, Neteyam is in denial with his feelings cause he's a good boy, Neteyam's naughty thoughts of his best friend, hints of spice
FLUFFY FLUFF JUST A BUNCH OF CUTENESS FOR THIS ONE WITH A HINT OF SPICE. this is a tad bit long but it's worth it hehe
Summary: Neteyam's been having vivid wet dreams of his best friend y/n and feels guilty about it especially when they go stargazing one night. He avoids her for days as he went through this internal battle of his feelings that he had of y/n and about what he wanted to do. Finally he finds y/n by the lake and takes what he wants.
"Oo ouch ouch!" Neteyam grumbles as y/n gently wipes the damp cloth over the wound on his shoulder. Y/n chuckles as she puts the the cloth back into the bowl full a water before wringing it out.
"Stop moving and it wouldn't hurt as much teyam" Y/n says as she gently wipes the rest of the blood off his shoulder. Neteyam holds his breath as he feels her soft and small hands run along his back and shoulder blades.
She grabs one of the gauze wraps and some herb ointment to help with the healing and began wrapping up the wound. "There all patched up" Y/n whispers as she places her hand on his good shoulder.
Neteyam grabs her hand before turning around to face his best friend. They were sitting so close to each other, just inches away from each other which made his heart race. "Thank you for patching me up as always" He tells her with a chuckle.
Goosebumps cover y/n's body as she feels his breath against her neck. Neteyam notices the goosebumps that were littering all over her soft blue skin so he tilts his head to where he can see her face.
"What is it ma pretty girl?" Neteyam asks, some of his braids falling over his face and y/n instinctively squeeze her thighs together just from hearing him call her his pretty girl. "Nothing ma teyam" She says as she stood up and starts to put the supplies away.
"Let me take you somewhere" Neteyam says as he walks up to her, already knowing where to take her. Y/n turns around and looks at him to see a huge smile on his lips. "It's so late teyam I don't think it's a good idea" Y/n tells him with a worried look on her gentle face.
"Do you trust me?" He asks her grabbing her hands and she looks up at him with such adoration in her eyes. "Of course I trust you" She assures with no hesitation and he gives her hands a squeeze of reassurance before he leads her out the hut and towards his banshee.
Neteyam hops onto his ikran before reaching his hand out or y/n to take. Y/n hesitates before grabbing his hand and hoisting herself up behind him. "Ready?" He asks as she nods her head and mumbles out a soft 'yes' as she scoots up and puts her arms hesitantly around him. Neteyam blushes as he feels her arms wrap around him.
The ikran unfurls its wings and takes flight into the night sky. Y/n lets out a scream as she squeezes her arms around him, feeling Neteyam chuckle while he straightens them out. She lets out a carefree giggle as she closes her eyes enjoying the night air. "Woo-hoo!" Y/n cheers loudly as she feels the breeze gently blows through her braids.
"You smell so good teyam" She compliments without thinking of it or second thoughts. Neteyam's eyes widen from the compliment as he blushes, placing his free hand on hers against his chest. They fly through the air, enjoying the view and each other's company. Soon y/n feels her eyes get heavy so she leans her head on his good shoulder and closes her eyes.
He turns slowly to find the spot where his parents go to escape for their little dates and once he spots it he guides his ikran in that direction. "Ma pretty girl we're here" Neteyam whispers as he lands the banshee while y/n lifts her head and looks at where they were. "Where are we?" She asks as he helps her off and she looks around in amazement then gasping at how they have a perfect view of the stars.
"A secret spot" He says smiling as he pets his banshee as a way of thanks before giving him a little snack. "This is beautiful" She whispers breathlessly and he takes the moment to admire her. Her eyes sparkle from the stars and her smile made his heart jump. "Yea so beautiful" Neteyam said, his eyes drinking in how she looks before clearing his throat.
He lays on his back and opens his arm for her to lay on his chest and she giggles before resting her head on his chest while his hand rested against her hip. A comfortable silence fills the air as they murmur and point at the stars, giggling as they connect the stars in weird ways.
Y/n closes her eyes and falls asleep while listening to his heartbeat. He turns his head and notices that she's asleep so he watches her sleep, admiring how peaceful she looks. Neteyam notices that her top is rolled up and he glances to see her bare breast and nipple.
Suddenly he begins to feel hot and bothered as his head reels while he tries to look away. He takes a deep breath then reaches over to fix her top, touching her nipple in the process. Y/n lets out a moan as she shifts in her sleep, tucking her head into his neck. His mouth suddenly goes dry as he swallows before moving his eyes from her breast to her hips.
"The things you do to me without even trying ma pretty girl" He whispers to himself as he gently squeezes her hip before looking back up to the stars, trying to control himself. He takes this time to get lost in his thoughts which were about the girl sleeping in his arms.
Time seems to fly because soon the stars start to fade as the sun begins to rise slowly. Y/n opens her eyes and looks up at Neteyam to see him sleeping. She looks at him but it wasn't just a simple look, she takes this time to look at his features and admire them.
The way his chest rises and falls slowly with each breath
The way his lips are parted just a little
Some of his braids covering his face
Neteyam's eyes open and his amber eyes flash to her as she gives a shy smile. "Morning ma pretty girl" He mumbles in a sleepy tone, causing her to bite her lip and blush as she starts to get up with him following right behind. She smiles as she sees the sun just peaking through the horizon, turning the sky a mix of different shades of blue.
"Come, let's get us back home" Neteyam says as he places his hands on her hips to lift her up onto the ikran but she stops him. He looks at her with confusion written all over his face and she takes a deep breath. "I want to tell you something" She starts and he nods his head as to tell her to continue and she closes her eyes for a split second before looking back at him.
"I-I want you to uh um kiss me" She stutters out as Neteyam just stands there, not knowing what to say while his heart skipped a beat from that sentence. Silence fell between the two and y/n says the first thing that came to her mind. "For p-practice you know since I haven't had my first kiss" Y/n adds rambling on as she shifts on her heels awkwardly.
Neteyam opens his mouth like he was about to say something but closes it and let's out a sigh. He wants to kiss her so bad but he wants it to be with someone special. "No I think it should be with someone you deeply care about" He explains, feeling terrible as he watched her frown.
"Oh okay" Was all y/n said as she clears her throat before putting on a fake smile. "We should get back home" She tells him before grabbing onto the saddle and lifting herself up. Once she is situated, he climbs up with ease and y/n wraps her arms around him. The ride back was filled with so much tension that it could be cut with a knife.
He guides his banshee in the direction of where the healer hut was and it lands with grace as it shakes his head before letting out a playful noise. Neteyam helps her down and once she steadies her footing she gives him a fake smile and looks down at the ground trying to hide her tears.
"Get some sleep teyam, I'll see you later on today" She says as she gives him a final way before making her way to her hut. He watches her leave to make sure that she makes it safe but to also watch her. He stays there for a few seconds, feeling awful for rejecting her. Once she disappears into her hut, he makes a gesture to his ikran and heads back to his own hut.
Once Neteyam walks into his hut, he closes the front flap and goes towards his hammock, flopping onto it but quickly winces as he is reminded of his hurt shoulder. Too exhausted to do anything, he blows out the candle that gave the main light source for the hut and lets out a sigh as he quickly falls asleep.
**Dream**
"Ma teyam please" Y/n whimpers as she juts her hips up towards him, earning a soft moan. "I know ma pretty mate I know. Can you be patient for me?" Neteyam asks as he gently kisses her neck before making his way to her breast, taking her nipple into his mouth. Y/n moans as she arches her back, practically shoving her breast into his mouth. His fangs graze against her nip-
Neteyam wakes up with a start and sits up in his hammock, letting out a breath. He looks down and sees his erected cock peaking through his loincloth, leaking with precum. He lets out a frustrated noise, for now he was hot and bothered all because of yet another wet dream of y/n.
He lays back down double checking to make sure no one was around and slowly unties his loincloth. Even though he had his own hut he still likes to make sure no one was around before he pleased himself. Thoughts of the first night when y/n and him went stargazing flooded his mind.
Her intoxicating laugh
The way her braids framed her face and covered her eyes
The way her feather top hugged her breast and the way her hips swayed with the way she moved.
Don't even get him started on the way she let out a moan when he accidentally touched her nipple.
Closing his eyes, He begins to pump his cock into his hand as he uses the images that were engraved into his mind of that night. "Fuck y/n" He moans softly as he runs his thumb over his tip, taking some precum and lathering his cock more. Neteyam thinks of how her hips felt when he grabbed her while chasing her.
"Y/n oh fuck" He groans as he starts to jerk off faster, feeling his climax tightening in his abdomen as he moved his other hand towards his balls and began to play with them. Soon Neteyam cums on his abs/chest and lets out a sigh of relief. Once he was able to calm down, he reluctantly gets out of his hammock to go clean himself up.
He grabs a cloth and begins to clean off his chest, getting lost in his thoughts. Neteyam and Y/n have been best friends since childhood. They did everything together and they even had their own cute little tradition where they tell each other their wildest dreams during breakfast.
**memory 1**
"Oh come on teyam tell me" Y/n begs as she playfully shoves him by the shoulder. "Okay Okay but no laughing" Neteyam says, giving in to his best friend as he watches her do a little victory dance. He begins to tell her how he wants to follow his father's footsteps and become the Olo'eyktan of the Omatikaya tribe. "Now you tell me yours pretty girl" Neteyam says as he takes a sip of his sweet and refreshing drink.
She giggles as she takes a bite of her breakfast, chewing it quickly so she could tell her best friend her dream. "I want to become tsahik and help heal the people" She explains and he nods his head in agreement. "You will be an amazing tsahik, Mo'at would be a wonderful mentor" He says smiling as they continue to eat their breakfast.
That all stopped once He turned 15. He started to have wet dreams of y/n and that absolutely terrified him. He felt it was wrong to have those kinds of dreams of her but every other night, he would have a wet dream of her. He felt terrible for stopping their little ritual so abruptly but he felt embarrassed and didn't know how to tell her that he dreams of her in a way friends shouldn't.
**memory 2**
Silence fell between the two friends as Y/n stares at Neteyam in disbelief. "You don't wanna tell me your dream? But why we always tell each other our dreams and it's our own ritual" She questions as she feels tears prick at her eyes. Neteyam's heart ached from seeing her sad but he couldn't tell her. "I think that we've grown out of it" He says nonchalantly as he continues to eat his food, avoiding eye contact. Y/n grabs her breakfast and gets up, leaving the hut and Neteyam all alone.
For the next few days, Neteyam avoids y/n because of the guilt he feels with what he did and the dreams he has of her. He felt like a perv for touching her nipple while adjusting her top. Every time she tried to reach for him he would just avoid her. It killed him to avoid her but he didn't know what else to do because he didn't want his feelings control him and it didn't help that he felt like they weren't valid, it was like an internal battle with himself.
Y/n noticed how he avoided her. It broke her heart with how distant he was and whenever she tried to reach him he would just avoid her. She wiped her eyes as tears streamed down her face while her thoughts ran wild. "Why did I ask him to kiss me? That was so fucking dumb, so dumb" Y/n criticizes herself as she sits up in her mat and attempt to wipe the tears.
Once she felt like she was calm, she took a deep breath and stood up while running her hands through her braids, smiling at how she felt the hidden beads within her braids. She opens the front flap of her hut and sees Neteyam with his siblings. Taking a deep breath, she makes her way towards them and greets all of them before looking at Neteyam.
"Hey teyam" She says as she reaches out to give him a hug like they do every time they meet but this time is different. He just pats her on the shoulder before walking away with Lo'ak and that crushed her. Kiri notices the change in y/n's face so she reaches out to grab her shoulder before giving her a warm smile.
"You okay?" Kiri asks as y/n looks up and gives her a fake smile. "Yea I'm fine just a little tired is all" She reassures Kiri before looking down in an attempt to hide her tears. "Okay I'm going to go with the boys make sure they don't do something dumb" Kiri says as she gives y/n a quick hug before walking towards her brothers.
"Did I really fuck everything up?" Y/n mumbles to herself as she looks up at the sky, trying to get rid of her tears. "Y/n!" Tuk yells as she runs towards y/n while opening her arms. "Hi Tuk" Y/n says giggling as she lifts her up and squeezes her. Neteyam watches this and it hurts him to see her reactions every time she tries to give him a hug he'd just give her a pat on the shoulder before walking away.
"Bro are you even listening?" Lo'ak asks as he punches his older brother on the arm, snapping Neteyam out of his thoughts. "Yea yea I'm listening" Neteyam mumbles as he glances at Lo'ak before looking back at y/n. She lifts up Tuk and spins her around in the air, earning a happy giggle from the younger na'vi.
Lo'ak shakes his head before grabbing his brother by the shoulder and dragging him into the hut where their parents lived. "Alright everyone here" Jake says as he looks around to make sure is accounted for. "Tuk is with y/n" Neytiri says as she sits down next to her husband. Neteyam doesn't even listen to the conversation, all he could think about was y/n.
Neteyam runs his finger over her folds which earns him a gasp from y/n as it was a whole new sensation to her. "You're so wet for me ma pretty girl. All just from my touch" He hums as he slowly inserts a finger inside her soaking core. He slides his fingers out and tweaks her sensitive bud in between his index finger and thumb. "Mm only you ma teyam" She mewls as she feels him insert another finger in her.
Mo'at walks into the hut and immediately notices how Neteyam is detached from reality and in his own world. "Okay I think that's all" Jake concludes as he gets up and walks over to where the table was and gathered his bow and arrows. Everyone kind of went their own ways except for Mo'at, Kiri and Neteyam who were still in the Sully hut.
Mo'at places her hand onto Neteyam's shoulder which brings him back to reality and he looks up to see his grandmother smirking at him. "I hear Eywa saying that it's hard for you to embrace the dreams she is giving you Neteyam" Mo'at hints at him giving his shoulder a squeeze before sitting down at one of the mats.
Fear ran through his body as he looked up at his grandmother, a terrified look in his eyes. "Oh great mother!" Was all he said as he saw Mo'at laughs while Kiri giggled next to him. "No shame in it Neteyam, but I think you should listen to Eywa" Mo'at tells him as she gives him a wink before looking at Kiri with a knowing look.
"Neteyam get your bow and arrows, we're going hunting with dad" Lo'ak says peaking his head through the entrance for a split second then disappearing. Neteyam stands up and grabs his bow then makes his way out of the hut to follow his dad and younger brother.
Jake puts a finger to his lips as a way to say 'be quiet' and points to the creature that they were going to hunt. Lo'ak nods and gets into his position while Neteyam does the same. Thoughts filled Neteyam's head and he starts to think about his feelings for y/n, distracting him from the task at hand.
Y/n bewitched him since day one. From the way she talks to the way her innocence and sweetness radiates off of her. He doesn't just love her, He wants to consume her. He wants to consume her body and her soul along with just ruining her. "Neteyam" Jake says as his older son looks at him with a daze look. "You're not focused son, go clear your head" Jake tells him in which Neteyam shakes his head.
"Sorry sir I-" He begins to say but Jake raises his hand before looking at his son. "Go get some rest" Jake dismisses and Neteyam nods his head before getting up from his spot. "Hey that's not fair what about me dad" Lo'ak complains and Jake rolled his eyes. "Shut it son, you still need to help me hunt" Jake says and it was Lo'ak's turn to roll his eyes as they both began walking deeper in the forest.
Instead of going back to his hut and getting some rest, He decides he's going to walk around the forest to collect his thoughts. He makes the decision that he wants to kiss y/n even if it's only one time, He needs to feel her lips against his. "Fuck it" He mumbles as he starts walking towards the direction of Mo'at's hut, determined to find y/n.
"Y/n?" He calls out as he opens the front flap to be greeted with his grandma already looking at him. "Y/n went to the lake to collect some plants" Mo'at says as she gives him a warm smile. "Thank you grandma" He says as he leaves the hut and towards the lake. As he walks to the lake, he can feel his heart thumping against his chest as he thought of how she would react.
Neteyam finally makes it to the lake and stops in his tracks as he watches y/n gathers some plants by the lake. "Now or Never" He says to himself as he sets his bow down before making his way to y/n. The sound of leaves crushing catches y/n's attention as she turns around to see Neteyam standing there.
He closes the distance between them and grabs her face, crashing his lips against hers. Y/n stands there shocked as she places her hands on his chest pushing him away. "What are you doing teyam?" She asks with a hint of innocence in her voice that drove him wild. "I changed my mind" He says as his hands rest against her waist and she looks at him.
"What are you talking about" She says and he smiles before pulling her closer. "I'll teach you ma y/n. I'll teach you how to kiss" He tells her with full honesty and he leans down to kiss her again but y/n stops him and pushes him away. "Are you sure?" She questions with the look of unsure in her eyes.
"I've never been so sure in my life ma pretty girl. I want this but I need to know if you want it too" He said with no hesitation as he places one of his hands on her cheek. Y/n lets out a sigh as she looks away from him, biting her lip. "Oh teyam, do you do this often?" She asks him and he raises an eyebrow in response.
Y/n rolls her eyes before shaking her head "You know, kissing girls in the forest late at night" She explains and Neteyam shakes his head. "No, you'll be my first" He admits and blushes at his confession in which y/n grabs his face, crashing her lips against his and he immediately kisses her back.
Neteyam pulls her closer to him while she wraps her arms around his neck. He bites her bottom lip causing her to gasp and he takes this as the opportunity to stick his tongue in her mouth and swipes it along hers before removing it. "You want me to teach you something else ma girl?" He asks as he teasingly moves the strap of her top off her shoulder and she rolls her eyes before shoving him in the lake.
Y/n lets out a laugh as she sees him come up to the surface, shaking his head as he looks at her with the look of disbelief. "Really ma y/n" He says raising his arms up causing some splashes and y/n continues to laugh then looses her footing on wet moss, also falling into the water.
Now it was his turn to laugh as she comes up to the surface and starts to laugh with him. He swims over to her and gently grabs her face before leaning down and kissing her passionately. She smiles into the kiss before placing her hands on his hair, playing with his braids. He breaks the kiss then puts his forehead against hers and just held y/n in his arms.
"You're wearing the armband" Y/n says surprise as she runs her hand over the armband she made him. "Of course ma pretty y/n, I wouldn't trade it for the world" He says as he holds her face in his hands, admiring how beautiful and innocent she looked. "I want to be your first in everything ma y/n" He begins while giving her a forehead kiss that makes her blush even more.
"But I also want to be your last" Neteyam finishes leans down to give her a passionate kiss that was a way to seal what he said to her because he meant it with all his heart.
ᥫ᭡ mini headcanons on what it’s like for the sully brothers to date someone / have a crush on someone
characters. neteyam sully + lo’ak sully
notes. this was something random i wanted to do to flesh out their characters (in my own way). i hope you guys enjoy my some of my ideas (๑´`๑)♡ + not proofread
Tumblr media
neteyam .° ᭡ ❤︎
whenever he has a crush, he’s in denial of his feelings. neteyam has a lot on his plate already to feel these emotions, that he just ignores it and hope it doesn’t get to him. but oh, the feelings only get stronger. neteyam struggles to come into terms with liking someone, so give him time and don’t push him.
neteyam wants you to make the first move. one thing he prides himself on is his ability to be a leader and a warrior, but not dating. he wants to make sure you actually like him before he’s ready to share his feelings. like his mother, he would beat around the bush with his feelings and quietly suffer if he has to.
will take care of you all the time. he wants to make sure that you’re okay and has a irrational fear that something could go wrong at any moment. he’ll ask if you’re okay or if you’ve eaten throughout the whole day. but what neteyam really wants is someone to take care of him. he wants someone who worries about him all the time, someone that would hear out all his problems. neteyam needs someone emotionally intelligent and outspoken because he deserves to have someone who understands and validates his struggles.
he doesn’t care of public display of affection. in all honesty, he probably doesn’t even notice it until his siblings point it out. neteyam has no shame in the world whenever you kiss him on the cheek or wrap your arms around him. if someone were to tell him to “tone it down”, he’ll get pretty aggressive and tell them to mind their own business. but there are times when you tease him, neteyam wants you to stop or his whole body will explode from how much he’s blushing.
when you try to tease him, he’ll certainly do it back. neteyam has a naturally competitive spirit so he isn’t backing down without a fight. it’s so nauseating for kiri and lo’ak to see you guys so lovingly tease each other during adventures in the forest or when it’s dinner time. there’s always a smile on his face when you tease him— he just enjoys it so much.
will speak on your behalf without a second thought. he’s the type to tell the waiter you got the wrong order when you told him it was fine. neteyam will never look down on you for not standing up for yourself— he knows it’s always a tough situation to be in when you’re all alone defending yourself. even if you’re in the right or wrong, neteyam feels the need to speak for you (he’ll lay it off if you tell him it’s fine). but if he’s really mad, he’ll be waving a finger on their face and have the urge to punch them on the face.
smiles so much more when he’s around you, even his family notices it. whenever he’s thinking about you, he cannot help but feel his lips turn into a grin— even if his cheeks started hurting. lo’ak teases him for it (kiri tells him to leave him alone), but neteyam doesn’t care. if he’s happy, that’s all that matters.
will always keep on eye on you when he’s not with you. neteyam is so protective over you that he can’t help but watch over you. when you’re hanging out with his siblings, his eyes are only on you. at times he notices your little habits whenever he observes you and can’t help but think they’re so cute— he’ll remember it until the day he dies. naturally, neteyam will also pick up on your habits because he looks at you too much. when you notice it, you tease him about it and he’ll admit that he always watches you (not in a creepy way tho).
a date with neteyam will be riding on his banshee during an eclipse. he’ll be gently guiding you onto his banshee and instructs you to keep your legs close and have your eyes protected at all cost (will put on your riding visor for you). neteyam loves the feeling of your embrace while he’s gliding in the air, your heartbeat against his back and the warmth of your skin. he won’t make any risky moves when riding because he doesn’t want anything bad to happen. he feels prideful when he catches you admiring the view of pandora.
Tumblr media
lo’ak .° ᭡ ❤︎
whenever he blushes, he tilts his head to the side. it’s like a reflex and lo’ak gets embarrassed about it because people know when he’s flustered when he’s really trying hard to hide it.
he comforts you by giving you advice, or at least he tries. sometimes his advice is could be very questionable and just lead to more trouble. though he has good intentions, he can set a pretty bad example because he thinks with his heart more than his brain.
loves to make eye contact. he’s not really scared to do it, especially when he trusts you. his eyes always tell a story and he gets teased for being very expressive with his eyes. kiri says that he looks like he has a “smoldering” look whenever he looks serious.
if he’s trying to impress someone, lo’ak will try to show off more often. will probably do some risky stunt just to have your eyes on him— feeling a little good about himself. he’s the type to lower his voice to make him sound more “cooler” and when his siblings notice, they instantly make fun of them for trying so hard. he didn’t talk to them for a whole day because of that.
needs to reassurance all the time. a lot of his actions really have no brain to it, lo’ak just feels so hard he’ll do it without thinking about the consequences. he needs to know what he’s doing is right, if it’s worth it— because everybody in his life has always said no. once in his life he wants someone to validate him and to make him feel like he’s doing something good.
will encourage you to sneak out with him. he would want to spend every moment with you, that he would abandon everything else just to have alone time with you. of course, this makes lo’ak a bad influence but if you’re down to get in trouble with him, he’ll really fall for you. but make sure you also level with him, sometimes lo’ak needs to learn it’s not beneficial to always be rebellious.
whenever he has a crush, he’s unusually quiet. lo’ak is usually energetic and is mostly friendly to everybody, but he’s just too nervous to be himself when he’s around someone he likes. lo’ak feels like he needs to act a certain way so they wouldn’t think badly of him. it’ll take him time for you to get comfortable with him, that’s why he doesn’t instantly fall in love but wants to be friends first. but the fleeting feelings are there.
takes you on romantic dates. it’s the demon blood in him that makes him extra cheesy and romantic. lo’ak wants every moment to be special and he also wants to please you too. he goes all out to find places he thinks you’ll love and gets his family to help him— which they gladly do. at one point, you’ll probably be blindfolded with the most beautiful view of pandora waiting for you.
purposely acts like an idiot to make you feel better. if you were to embarrass yourself in front of dozens of people, lo’ak will be there to make a bigger fool out of himself so all eyes would be on him. he’s used to being the one looked at weirdly and he has no problem taking the heat for you.
childhood friends danny and jason miscellaneous thoughts: because why not, i'm reworking ch2 because it no longer fits with the remaster of chapter 1 so i've been thinking of them, and i love talking about them. which you should totally go read the remaster because its 26k words and im very proud of it and it barely got any attention.
First off Ellie vapes. Mostly because I think its real fucking funny. The first time Danny finds out about it he gets all up in arms about it. Ellie at first thinks its because she's smoking -- which, helloooo pot meet kettle, Danny has been smoking for a lot longer than she has.
And then he throws a curveball at her and says he's upset specifically because its vaping. Like no, no. Dammit, if you're gonna fuck up your lungs you gotta do it properly, none of this cotton-candy flavored nonsense.
He plays it up for laughs and it's largely non-serious 'i can't believe you're using a vape', if only to hide the fact that he is genuinely displeased with his little sister smoking. Self-destructive behaviors and bad habits are his thing, thank you very much.
But, well, he knows he'd be a hypocrite if he told her he didn't like that she was smoking. He's aware its bad for him, but habits are hard to break and he's not particularly keen to break this one in particular.
Danny bullies her relentlessly about it whenever she vapes in front of him. Like don't be a loser, Elle, carry a carton of cigs and a lighter in your back pocket like the rest of us degenerates.
[more under the cut]
Secondly: Danny's piercings? He got the first lobe piercings as a lost bet from Sam in junior year, and they did it in her room with a needle, a small bottle of blood blossom extract, and an apple. He broke out in hives for a week after thanks to the blood blossom, but it prevented the hole from healing up :)
He got the rest done professionally at a piercing place in the Ghost Zone. He asked Johnny where to find it. Sam and Johnny (and Kitty) nearly convinced him into getting snakebites. He got an eyebrow piercing instead.
Danny's undercut is also self-done, he did it because Technus shot at him with an ectoblast and it missed hitting him, but set his hair on fire. Danny got it out pretty quickly, but it left his hair lopsided and obviously looking like it got burned by something. He went to Sam for help after the fight. He liked the way it looks so he's kept it that way since.
-
Vlad brought up Jason once(1) in a taunt during a fight, and this was after Jason disappeared from the ghost zone, and Danny very. very nearly killed him on the spot. He hasn't done it since.
Which leads into the other thing: Grief Triggers! As I call them. All Banshees have them in this au.
While all banshees are, in general, in a permanent state of grief, Grief Triggers are a specific emotional response that can cause them to spiral into a state of intense, sometimes debilitating sorrow, and most of the time causes them to start wailing.
Banshees know what their Grief Triggers are and in general tend to try and build up a form of resistance against it so that, if something occurs that happens to trigger said grief, they can at least either get away from other ghosts to let loose or have enough control over themselves that it'll take more work to send them spiraling.
As expected, Jason is Danny's grief trigger. He's built up a pretty good resistance to it so that hey, talking about him and his death is easier than when Danny was fourteen. But a little more prodding and it will trigger, especially depending on who brings him up and how. (See: Vlad)
Grief Triggers also manifest relatively the same; with the induction of an intense state of grief and sorrow, but how a banshee acts on it can sometimes vary. Again, it depends on who triggers it and how. Some of them can get,,, violent, depending on how it happens.
Rath, this au's 'Dan', is a case of a banshee being put into the grief state caused by grief triggers and... never really leaving it. Which they usually do on their own, or with help depending on the severity of it.
At the time it happened Danny was going through the worst week of his life a second time: his best friend's ghost disappeared, then his family and friends all died right in front of him, and then he was stuck with someone who wasn't helping him through that grief.
He was already in the grieving state when Vlad tore out his ghost half. As a result, Vlad only made it worse. With that fury thrown into the mix, Vlad ended up getting torn apart and nobody else was close enough with nor could they get close enough to Rath to help him come down from the wailing state.
So Rath ended up getting stuck in a perpetual negative feedback loop of absolute misery, and well... drove himself insane. The rest of the world became collateral as a result.
-
the difference between Danny and Jason lies in the fact that Jason died, while Danny is dead.
-
I'm having more thoughts on the CFAU/TMWS universe banshees, actually.
Banshees are either born in the ghost zone from ectoplasm and are ecto-entities and work as banshees as how we know of them, or they're human spirits that died mourning someone and that grief was so intense that it turned them into a banshee. They're a little more rare.
These banshees typically mourn only one person, or sometimes they follow their Realm-born counterparts and choose a family to mourn for. Typically their own.
Ember is not a banshee; human spirit banshees are always mourning another person. However, her abilities emulate certain qualities of banshees: like the beautiful singing. But in comparison to an actual banshee, Ember's voice pales.
Does this mean Danny has the better singing voice? Yeah. Ember is incensed by this.
-
If canon Danny and CFAU/TMWS Danny met, I think canon Danny would be kinda unsettled or off put by CFAU.
CFAU Danny still has some pretty core Danny traits, at least I like to think so -- his general drive to help people just out of compassion for them (even if it manifests differently at first due to trauma), his wit and humor, his fear of failing to protect his loved ones, all of those resonate with canon Danny.
However, canon Danny, as far as I can remember and as far as his wiki goes, rarely gets extremely angry or emotional. He gets irritated and he gets annoyed but him getting mad I don't think happens super often. CFAU Danny is the angrier one between Jason and Danny. It's one of the things I consider a division point between him and canon Danny as it's a result of him growing up in Crime Alley. Canon Danny is canonically shy and meek prior to becoming Phantom, CFAU Danny couldn't be -- he'd be dead already.
CFAU Danny's anger would off put canon Danny, in my opinion. His anger, his smoking, and for lack of a better term, his bloodlust would unsettle him.
Like, for example, say CFAU Danny gets transported to a canon (or canon-adjacent) Danny's universe. He's staying with canon for a little bit as they brainstorm how to get him back home, and CFAU Danny goes to school with canon if only so that he's not stuck in the house all day.
Whether they try and pass CFAU Danny off as canon's cousin or if the town already knows that he's another version of Danny, it doesn't matter. Because insert Dash.
Dash who, in CFAU Danny's world, has since learned not to fuck around with Danny or the other kids because Danny has long since asserted that he will beat his ass if he does. 'Fucking around' always predates the 'finding out', and Danny is happy to act as consequence.
(As my father told me (paraphrased) when I was a small child and full of uncontrollable anger: "there's gonna be a day where you're gonna hit someone, and they're gonna hit you back")
And canon Dash, who is used to canon Danny who kinda just takes it because it means that he won't target other people, would see CFAU Danny. He'd notice the resemblance between him and canon, immediately try and go "oh new target!", and try and bully him the same way he does to canon. And Danny "I am the consequences of your actions" CFAU Fenton, instantly throws hands.
Just, CFAU Danny is kind but he's also Gotham-raised and full of bite; he's meaner than canon is. He's more ruthless too, especially in his ghost fights. The ease of which he slips into violence would, imo, discomfort canon. CFAU and Canon would eventually get along though, they're not so different that they'd be in constant clash of each other.
(Canon Danny and Danyal Al Ghul however,,, thats another post LMAO)
Tiriel has completely lost herself.
There is nothing in this world but her and Astarion. He’s pinned her to the bed, shut her mouth with his kisses and Tiriel thinks her legs, currently tightly wrapped around his torso, won’t close ever again.
Tiriel grabs a fistful of his curls, making him groan. Astarion pulls away a bit and then pierces her neck with his fangs, causing her to whimper with pain and pleasure.
With every gulp, his thrusts become rougher and harder. He releases her neck and Tiriel smells the iron scent of her own blood.
“Such a delicious little thing,” he growls. “So warm for me.”
Tiriel tries to make eye contact but Astarion turns away. His mind is a thousand miles away.
“Astarion,” she meowls.
He doesn’t answer. Instead, he squeezes her wrists harder and rolls his hips.
“Astarion, please,” Tiriel says, but he doesn’t pay attention.
Now it’s not lovemaking, not sex.
Just a mindless fucking, perfect in its performance.
And Tiriel hates every second of this.
“Astarion, let me go!”
He places his palm over her mouth and hushes something pointless in her ear. He speaks of love, passion… He may not mean a word he says.
Tiriel has had enough.
She manages to set her leg free and punches Astarion forcing him to release her at once.
He gasps and moves to the other side of the bed. His cock is still hard and it glistens in the dim light, still coated in precum and her own wetness.
“Did I—Gods!” Astarion covers his face in shame. “I am so sorry.”
“It’s ok, you didn’t hurt me,” She takes his hand in hers. “What happened? You were dissociating again.”He looks at her and then takes a blanket to cover his lower parts, as if embarrassed by his own erection.
Tiriel studies his perfect face and notices he’s avoiding looking at her.
They spent the last two days apart. Tiriel was offered a job—to help a group of adventurers deal with a banshee, and it was clear they wouldn’t tolerate a vampire. So, Astarion agreed to stay in the Inn with his books—and Tiriel promised to return as soon as possible.
Be it the consequences of the fight or something else, Tiriel was coming back to the Inn with only one desire.
She wanted to fuck.
Astarion quickly caught the scent of her arousal and, while joking about her overall appearance (bruises, sweat, a ripped shirt), he undressed her and gave her what she desired most.
“Astarion,” she caresses his knuckles. “You could have just said you weren’t in the mood.”
Now he looks at her. A bitter smile twists his face.
“It’s difficult to say ‘no’ to you, darling” He chuckles. “Didn’t want to disappoint you”
Tiriel grabs his shoulders. “Astarion, don’t be stupid! Do you think I like forcing you to do things you don’t want? You think I… Gods, Astarion, you aren’t an object to be used, not a means to an end. You don’t owe me sex or intimacy or anything! We’ve talked about it!”
Astarion turns his head away. “I had a very bad reverie while you were absent, '' he admits. “Really bad one. I will spare you the details and I don't want to talk about it. I didn’t want you to notice and tried to pretend everything was normal. When it wasn’t.”
Tiriel puts her head on his shoulder.
“Astarion, tell me what you want. But be honest. Please.”
He exhales. “Well… I… definitely can’t finish what we started but my body disagrees.”
Tiriel pulls away the blanket. Astarion’s manhood looks painfully hard. She feels a tugging sensation between her legs but she manages to suppress it. Whatever they are going to do won’t be about her.
“Can you just… Sit in front of me?” he asks.
Tiriel nods. She adjusts herself on a pillow so Astarion can see all of her. She spreads her legs a bit and smiles.
“Come for me, love,” she murmurs watching as he strokes himself.
Astarion maintains eye contact fucking his own hand. Tiriel suspects she doesn’t look seductive or particularly appealing, but she’s learned to love herself as she is. If Astarion finds her attractive and desires her, she shouldn’t care about anything else.
Then, he turns away again. The movements become mechanical—he bites his lower lip and tries to keep performing but Tiriel has known him for too long not to notice.
“Astarion?”
“Fuck!” he unclenches his hand.”I can’t.”
“Do you want me to help?” Tiriel leans to him.
He hesitates but then nods.
Tiriel tugs Astarion to her chest making sure he is comfortable between her legs. She kisses his shoulder and then touches his nipples—his body reacts to her fingers, forcing him to squirm.
“I don’t want to hurt you, I don't want you to feel used. I want you to be loved, to be cared for,” she strokes his cock and Astarion moans.
She has never done it before. Astarion often pleasures her in more than one way; his fingers have been inside her not less than his cock. Meanwhile, her role is almost always a passive one.
Well, unless she rides him—but that’s another story to tell.
She touches the sensitive tip and then proceeds to stroke the shaft, enjoying the sensation of silk-like skin under her fingers.
Astarion squirms, he digs his fingernails into the sheet. Tiriel uses her second hand to caress his balls. She squeezes them a bit and the moment she does it thick strings of cum coat Tiriel’s fingers.
“Fuck!” he gasps.
Tiriel pays little to no attention to the mess he’s made and adores his face. His eyes are closed, and his mouth is half open. There is nothing left from his usual smirk and a composed smile—Astarion is just a mindless vampire right now, drowned in his own pleasure.
“I barely even touched you,” Tiriel playfully says. “And you’ve come so fast.”
His cock is still hard and Tiriel kisses her lover’s lips.
“Please…” he mutters. “Do this… again.”
“Anything for you, love.”
This time Tiriel squeezes him tighter, her movements rough and passionate. Astarion moans and hisses uncontrollably.
“Hells…”
“I love you so much,” Tiriel whispers in his ear. “I am so lucky to have you. Don’t hold yourself. ”
Astarion rolls his hips fucking her hand. By this moment she doesn’t even have to move— she just holds Astarion the same way she holds a sword handle.
“Come for me, love.” She licks the tip of his ear and then carefully bites it. As she feels his skin on her tongue, he clutches at the fabric of the sheets with such force that he tears it.
Then he opens his eyes wide and cums again.
If he was alive, he would pant loudly and his heart would beat like after climbing up the stairs in a tower.
But his body is silent and Tiriel moves a bit to see his face better.
The image doesn’t disappoint her—Astarion is completely flustered, all in her power, vulnerable, and mindless.
Finally, he looks at her. She smiles and puts her coated fingers to her lips and licks the cum.
“Wild girl,” he murmurs and kisses Tiriel, tasting himself.
“Do you want to cuddle?” she asks.
“Do you really have to ask?” Astarion is back to his common self. “Darling, I thought we'd been cuddling longer than we’ve been having sex.”
“Then how do you want to do it?”
Astarion hesitates, then pushes her onto the bed, forcing Tiriel to lie on her back. He then settles his head on her bare lap, hugging her thigh like a pillow.
“I had a reverie about a woman,” he finally says. “She knew I was a vampire and I was her ‘reward” for doing some… job for him. She was a nobility, a rich girl who always got what she wanted—and she wanted me to be her fucktoy for a month. I should have been grateful because for once I didn’t have to flinch at any unexpected sound or be afraid of torture. Instead of rats, I fed on horses and dogs which was much better than my usual diet. I even could read books in her library and, gods, I spent every spare minute there.”
“But the price was to sleep with her?” Tiriel asks.
“Well, the bitch had very interesting views on sex, and any regular intercourse was too boring for her. Besides, she deluded herself that she asked for permission—but I was ordered to agree to anything she suggested. And the bitch was as inventive as perverted.”
Tiriel caresses his scalp waiting for the story to continue. Astarion’s mind is like a hangman’s archive—Tiriel can never guess which disgusting fact she will learn next, but it is always worse than the previous one.
“I was in her bedroom and… she was forcing herself on me. I wanted to strangle her, to rip her throat. Her touches were acid-like. It was… a deep reverie when I wasn’t aware it was a memory. I was sure I was still there. And then… it all faded away. And then you returned with your arousal and your passion.”
Guilt knots in Tiriel’s stomach.
“I am sorry.”
“Don’t. I should have just told you I wasn’t in the mood. You would have stopped, wouldn’t you?”
“Of course. Without  a doubt.”
He turns around so he can see Tiriel’s face but still uses her thighs as a pillow.
“You are warm,” he mutters.
“And you resemble a big cat.”
“Is it a compliment?”
“Yes.”
Tiriel feels like falling asleep. The last thing she sees is Astarion’s crimson eyes that look at her with awe and tenderness.
