Omg ! I didn't think you'd actually respond !! We're gonna fly away from here is easily one of the best ones in the series!! It's so Twisted and disturbing but almost domestic... (Also tysm for including my name idea in your story, Idk where it came from, I just liked it and I appreciate you!) I digress. I've returned with a concept. Al almost always has a plan when he does something. I don't know where you want to go with the second child but this won't be too focused on that one...for now. I really liked how you interpreted Alastor being a weasel and weaseling his way back into the families life and was thinking about how many I wonder about if he has a plan right now, like not a long term one, obviously, but a very specific one for a 'short term'. Women back then, especially in the south weren't allowed to have bank accounts so finicial trapping works well in this case. Also just kinda the ability to turn their kids against her would be enough to terify me. People talk about the 1950's housewife, but oh my god, 1920's housewives were a new kind of depressed. I, personally, don't think Alastor is the type of physically abuse women. No, he's far too classy for that. Instead, like I said, I think he'd either use his status in their house to trap his wife. We were able to run away while we were pregnant and alone, but we have a child now...and would we be willing to leave our child with him? No, I don't think I would, personally. This was just me rambling. K, love u, currently hyperfixated on this au. Byeee !!!! _ Cherry Anon!
DON’T REALLY WANT NO TRUST FUND BABY
[before reading this, read the rest of the story!]
— seems as if alastor found out your little secret
— UR TOO SWEET I SC THIS ON MY IG STORY AND YAPPED TO MY BOY BSF FOR AN HOUR AB IT IM BLUSHING SO HARDDDD!! ABUSE WAS LIT MY LAST SOCIAL STUDIES LESSON FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR MY TCH YAPPED AB FINANCE SO HARD 🤭🤭

being married to alastor, the radio show host is quite the sensation in your town. but, behind the closed curtains, alastor did things that would’ve made lucifer shake in his boots.
no, he didn’t hit you. his mother would kill him if he hit his wife. but, just because alastor never hit you, didn’t mean he didn’t abuse you.
he tormented you in the worst way possible, through noah. and now, emilia.
it’s been 3 years. your little emilia lives up to her name, a cute little girl who’s eager to win. and, little noah is now a big boy, double digits and all.
and, since you’ve returned back to his house, alastor has done nothing but twist your babies’ minds. ‘once upon a time, mama wanted to run away from daddy… so, she ran away and took big brother with her. daddy was sooo worried for mama and big brother though… daddy was able to track mama down, and took her home!’ he cooed to your daughter, bouncing her in his arms— with you right beside him!
you wanted to yell; scream. of course, emilia was too young to understand what alastor was saying. but, still— the fact that he was trying to tell your children that he was some sort of white knight who saved you from yourself. you wanted nothing less, but to snap that neck of his like a twig.
you really shouldn’t act so brashly though. to outsmart alastor, you have to think like him. think of what’s smarter in long run.
alastor was ‘kind’ enough to give you an allowance. $200 every week for groceries and whatever you may need. he’s even so kind as to let you have some ‘private bonding’ with noah and emilia as they accompany you to the farmer’s market.
thankfully, you had a father who wanted to make his little girl survived even without a husband. and so, you had to hear all of his ramblings about finance. saving about 45% each week for 3 years… was about $14,000!
if you saved just a little more, you’d be semi-financially independent until you can get a proper job to take care of your children. it was run-away money, so to speak.
you hid the money in noah’s room. after all, who would expect money there? especially $14,000? and, it worked, for a while. every monday, while you tucked him into bed, you brought the money with you and hid it behind his dresser.
until, what had seemed like a normal tuesday. you came home from the tailor’s, getting back a dress that noah accidentally tore. when you came home, it was only two hours after noon. and despite that, alastor was home.
“a-alastor..! what are you doing home so early? you have a broadcast in 2 hours…” you narrowed your eyes at alastor, on the floor with your children, many new toys surrounding them. “ah, darling! i decided to pick up our children early, and we may have splurged on our little shopping spree…” he smugly grinned. “oh..? where’d you get the money?” you raised your eyebrow, closing the door and laying your bearings on the dining table.
“funniest story ever, my love! there was a random stash of money in noah’s room! seems as if the tooth fairy came early!” he laughed. random stash of money in noah’s room..? “oh. i see.” your breath stopped for a minute, thinking of what kind of consequences could come from it.
“do you have any idea how that money landed there?” he side-eyed you, expecting a lie. “perhaps it was from the old owners? you know this house, there’s so many secrets in here.” you said. “i see… i suppose you are right, darling!” he giggled.
you were back on square one. financially dependent on your husband, if you could even call him ‘husband’. as you climbed up the stairs, you heard alastor whisper to your son. “you see that? momma lied. she got less talkative when papa asked her a question.”
this is what alastor’s been teaching your son. as much as you want to protest, you did lie.
oh, how much you wished for much more simpler times. playing with your baby boy in the kitchen as you make little treats together for his snack at school. and now, the boy alastor’s turning him into— a cunning sociopath, the lord only knows what he will teach your daughter.
this is just a minor setback, it has to be.

How about the yandere or sfw alphabet for Maven?
Sfw alfabet becomes later
Tumblr media
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
Maven would be really intense. He would love you so much. It would have become like an addiction for him. But Maven would try to contain his love. This is why he sometimes steals your stuff and has a Y/N body pillow :D
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Really messy. Maven wouldn't really be afraid of blood. And he would be willing to kill for you.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Ahahahaha never. Maven would try to make you comfortable. He would be sorry it had come to this. He would also have prepared your room as comfortably as possible for you.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
Maven would love to take pictures of you sleeping. He just couldn't help himself. You are just so lovely. Other things Maven wouldn't do if you didn't want them to.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
Maven would be really vulnerable. He would reveal almost everything... Almost. However, Maven never mentions what he does to those people who "threaten" your relationship.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
Maven would feel terrible. Like someone was stabbing him. He wouldn't want to hurt you... But he can't let you go either. Why can't you just be happy with him? Maven dosen't really understand.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
Absolutely not. Maven wouldn't appreciate it if you tried to escape. Instead, he would worry that you would accidentally hurt yourself.
Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
Definitely seeing the basement... The image of a partner who could never hurt anyone would crumble in an instant. Especially if the basement is messy.
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
Maven would just like to be with you alone forever. He just wants a normal life with you. Or as ordinary as he could get under the circumstances.
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
Maven's other name would be Mr. Breathe close to my Darling and you will lose the privilege of breathing...
Maven has noticed that being around you and planning a murder helps with jealousy
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
Maven would worship the ground you walk on. She would always want to be near you, ask about your day, help you with different things, etc. Maven would praise and praise almost everything you did. He would also give you a lot of affection when you were dating.
He doesn't show any overly Yandere tendencies. Maven wouldn't want to upset his love.
Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
You should take the initiative... Or actually just be a little nice so Maven would be fallen in love...
It would start with friendship. Maven would be your friend in the beginning. And it would soon turn into dating when you have similar interests... Maven is a Stalker lol.
Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
Maven would have no interest in people who weren't his family or you. To others, he would seem quiet and distant...
So you could say that...
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
Crying.... Maven would really cry... He would make you feel bad and guilty. After all, he has your best interests at heart and will do everything for you.
In the worst case, Maven would tie you down... He would never want to hurt you... But if you really piss him off, his grip can get really tight.
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
Okay, if you didn't try to divorce you could live normally for the most part... Your freedom would be more limited and Maven would be overprotective... But for the most part you would keep your freedom.
However, if you tried to leave him, you wouldn't have much freedom. Maven would not want you to have contact with people outside of his family. And you shouldn't be able to move around so freely.
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
As long you don't try leave him or hurt his family everything would be finey~
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
Absolutley not... You are his life... Maven can't and won't go on without you.
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
Maven would never let you go... But he would feel bad if you were sad.
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
Maven's parents were almost always at work... Which meant that random nannies and her older brother took care of Maven's upbringing. Maven's older brother is a yandere so he thought this was normal. Maven tried to ask his parents about it.
Maven: Is it normal that I want to murder all the people my crush is close to?
Maven's mother: *doesn't look up from the work computer* Hmmmmmh yeah... crushes are nice... Very normal... Maven I have work now...
And it's not made easier by the fact that Maven's parents are the type who would never admit that there is something wrong with their parenting style.
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
Maven would think that in the beginning it would be normal. You need time to get used to it... But if it continued, he would feel terrible and worry a lot.
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
Maven collects things from you... He also has two Y/N body pillows... Much more clingy than a normal yandere.
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
Maven's studies... Even if he wanted to, he couldn't be with you 24/7. But what you don't know is that Maven has installed a tracking device on your clothes. Just to be sure.
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Depends... Maven wouldn't hurt you because of the penalties. Maybe if you had hurt yourself and he had to take care of you fast.
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
Maven would go to hell and back if it meant getting your love. At first he thought of starting a cult with you because you are so godly... But he couldn't stand the other members.
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
Maven would rather die himself~

Could I request a durge who, while they have more control of their urges than most other Bhaalspawn, will sometimes blurt the urges out in conversation to try and get someone to help them stop doing it just in case they try? It's half sweet and half chaotic, because on one hand, aw durge trusts them! But also, durge and the character were just having a nice evening stroll in a park when they turned to the character and bluntly said "Can you tie me down before I kill that couple over there?"
With Roland, Dammon and Wyll please!
Tumblr media
•❅───────────✧❅✦❅✧───────────❅•
How would Rolan, Dammon, and Wyll react to a Durge who blurts out their urges?
Context: Durge starts blurting unhinged things out like “Can you tie me down before I kill that could over there?!” (I find this so funny)
.
.
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ ROLAN
“Gods damnit again?! What is it, the fourth time this week?! Can you behave enough to whisper when you utter those violent little thoughts of yours? It's like you want every damn person here to hear you! You’re embarrassing us both y’know!”
You what?! <— His live reaction caught in 4k
He’s well aware of your urges by now but they never fail to startle him. You always seem to blurt them out during the worst times too. He’s spilled his drink once because of you!
He goes from having to quickly shush your mouth by placing his own hand over it, to not so subtly scooting you away from everyone, and then having to use every damn magic trick in the book just to keep you from lunging at people.
He seems more annoyed than scared to be honest, having to scold you once again about ‘not ruining happy couples’ and to ‘stop trying to bite that dwarves leg’.
The whole situation ends up looking like both of you play fighting or Rolan trying to tend to a rabid dog. Either way, it's absolutely hilarious to everywhere who may bear witness to it all.
Eventually, when he's managed to get you to calm down, he’d be able to help talk things out with you, finding out proper ways on how this ‘urge’ of yours could be tamed without the need of you hurting yourself or others.
To his dismay, he cares for you deeply and despite it all, he’d be willing enough to help you through each and every one of your urges no matter how much of a hassle it all is to overcome.
And hey! If someone truly does piss him off, he has you to rely on to immediately go chasing after the poor soul with bared teeth.
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ DAMMON
“Hells, just hold onto me okay? We’ll get you home and away from this crowd if you think the urges are getting far too overwhelming. Don't you worry, we’ll be back in no time, just squeeze my hand and it’ll all be alright.”
He kind of just stood there awkwardly at first when he first heard you blurt out your urges. He’s so surprised by them that he needs to blink five times before actually processing what you just said.
It would be during the most unsuspecting times too like whenever the both of you were relaxing together side by side whilst eating a nice warm meal then suddenly you’d say something along the lines of ‘dwarf tastes better’.
He’s very much concerned about you and your mental state but he cares for you enough to listen and lend you a hand whenever you do decide to blurt out your urges.
At least then it gives him a clear sign as to when he should be tying you down or locking you in a room for the day.
He hates having to tie you up when your urges get worse, seeing you lash about and growl at him just pains him because he can't imagine the amount of stress you actually going through just to hold yourself back.
He’s probably been scratched by you a few times while he was trying to calm you down but he never once took it against you. Instead, those became his favorite scars all cause they came from you.
He would stay with you no matter how dangerous you say you are. He’d make sure that you’d have food and he’d feed you every time you’re mind was too scattered to eat yourself during the moments when you had to be tied up; for even the fear of dying by your hands does not scare him.
Though it does become an actual shitshow during the times he actually has to wrestle you down. It's funny to watch but Gods does it exhaust him.
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ WYLL
“By the hells, Is it that time again? Alright, calm down, just breathe with me okay? You're going to be just fine. Now quickly, let's get you somewhere safe before the worst comes to show, I doubt you’d want that poor couple overhearing what you said.”
He goes wide-eyed concerned for a moment as soon as your violent urges suddenly come out of your mouth. He truly could never not be shocked for when and where you say such things.
He’s somehow extremely prepared for it though that it's mildly concerning.
The first step is to take you away from any person aside from him in sight, if you are close to home, even better! But ideally, he either takes you to a secluded forest or an alleyway.
Next, he very gently restrains you whilst reassuring you that everything is going to be just fine. Better to restrain you while you're still in control of your own thoughts rather than when you go full-on feral mode.
He even has a timer for it. If for an hour or so you don't act up and remain calm then he lets you go but if you start lashing out then he knows it’s time for him to probably pull an all-nighter just to make sure you and the others don't get hurt. Note that either way, he stays with you.
He’ll be your number-one supporter in helping you control and contain your violent urges, always giving you hope in times when all you can see is blood red.
He’ll always have a plate of food ready for you when the urges finally settle and you’re back in the right state of mind. Perhaps even a warm bath if you're both in the comforts of your home.
Truth be told, the real reason he stays by your side is not just cause he cares but because one moment he looked away for about ten seconds, and you suddenly disappeared. The poor man nearly had a panic attack.

heya! may i request nagito, fuyuhiko, rantaro, gonta, gundham and kazuichi with a gn!s/o who comes out to them as asexual? <3
S/O coming out as asexual
Tumblr media
[ SCENARIO ] [ Nagito, Fuyuhiko, Gundham, Kazuichi, Rantaro, Gonta ] [ Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair ] [ Danganronpa V3 Killing Harmony ]
Tumblr media
× In case someone doesn't know, asexuality is feeling little to nothing sexual atraction for others and don't being interested on sexual relationship (but it depends on the person too)
My dear anon I LOVE YOU!! I love your request 😭❤️ I been craving for danganronpa requests and you don't just chose ✨ amazing ✨ characters ✨ but also request for an asexual s/o, as an asexual person Im more than happy to write it!! ❤️❤️❤️
This is my first time writing for most of the characters you asked, I really REALLY hope I made a good job and that you like it! 😣
Tumblr media
Nagito Komaeda
Nagito is a really loving partner, and an intense one too, for him you are amazing and completely gorgeous, simple perfect and being in a relationship with you is a little overwhelming for him, he feels like he doesn't deserve you and yet he is ecstatic to be able to be with you,
Nagito has no idea how he should act as a boyfriend and still he put all his efforts on doing so, he mainly just follows your lead and do whatever you ask him to (at least at first, until he can understand more how a relationship works). Nagito doesn't think that he has the right to ask anything from you but he craves for your love and comfort, Nagito's life has always been rough, he had never had someone to love him but that you are in his life he wants more and more, even when he feels selfish for it
Being in a relationship is a learning proces for him so he doesn't really think much in the sexual part, and since you doesn't mention it or anything is just something that is ignored for a long time, it could easily go unnoticed that you are asexual if you don't say anything about it
It could be that one of his classmates ask him about his relasionship and ask if you two had reach that point already, or while trying to investigate how to be a good boyfriend he come across about how some people considerate the sexual part as really important, however he is really smart and doesn't take him long to notice your lack of interest on the topic
Nagito doesn't want to jump into conclutions so he may think on diferent posibilities of why you don't seem interested on this kind of thing (at least once he thought that you aren't atracted to him in that way, and he wouldn't blame you if that is the case), but isn't because he is complaining or he wants to do it, he is just too determined to please you
As much as this troubled him Nagito doesn't feel the right to ask you about it, so it has to be because he somehow gain the courage to finally ask you (more likely he noticed you being worried or uncomfortable about something) or you are the one telling him about this
Nagito is really worried when you get serious or even nervous about needing to tell him something, he expect the worst but when you tell him that you are asexual (and explain what it is) he is relieved. Nagito ask you for more details about this, only if you are willing to share it with him, just because he knows that this is important for you so is important for him (also he wants to hear all you want to talk about the topic, it makes him happy hearing you and helps him learn about all of this)
Nagito is really supportive over this, once you are done explaining it he makes clear that he doesn't have problem if in your relationship you two never really have sex, being able to be by your side and being loved for you is more than enough for him. Nagito never really make coments about this kind of things, not even jokes and still he will try to watch over his words and what others say when you are around if talking about this stuff makes you uncomfortable
Some asexual people are willing or even want to actually have sex with the person they love after getting completely comfortable, Nagito doesn't really expect that to happen because he isn't goint to force you to anything, but if it will ever happen he want to first make sure this is what you want (and even him will be nervous about it)
Tumblr media
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu
For Fuyuhiko is already dificult to trust on people, he had grew in a pretty hostile environment and just with Peko to rely on (and still he can't let himself shows vulnerability), when he finally not just trust in someone but falls in love he does hard, his feelings are pretty strong and doesn't let him much room to ignore them (even when he tries)
Is more likely he start a relasionship with you with your and Peko's help because he is lost on what to do, and even when you two start dating it take him a while to get used to be in a relationship. Fuyuhiko is kinda insecure in the relasionship, he doesn't know what he is supoused to do or say and not even if he will be able to do it, so he relies more on indirect ways to showing you his love
There is no way he will rush things when he himself is nervous and flustered by the idea of showing physical affection, and also he will never force you to do anything you don't want (he may has problems to express himself but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about you). Is just that he has never being this close to someone (outside of maybe Peko or his sister, but this is completely different), so between his nervousness he tries to take his time and enjoy the time he spend with you
Just as he doesn't want to rush things the thought of having sex doesn't really cross his mind (maybe he had thought about it one or two times but he quickly throw away that idea really embarrassed for even thinking on it), having sex isn't really his main and he is too nervous about the relasionship to even think on that, so he won't really mentioning it (even when he make peace with the topic still it isn't something too relevant for him)
When you finally open up to him about you being asexual he will need you to explain it since he isn't familiar with the term, still it doesn't take him long to understand what it means and when he does he will aks you if that's all like it wasn't nothing, not because he doesn't think is important is just that he doesn't see the sexual part as esencial or too important, if you think that he doesn't care about what you said or something he is quickly to apologize and explain why his reaction
He won't admit it but he is kind relieved that you don't expect to that to happen (or not anytime soon) since he is just too nervous about that topic and it isn't too important for him, he has more important things on what to think that having sex (like trying to don't put you at risk for him being a yakuza)
Fuyuhiko is really supportive of you, he reasure you in his own way that this is just the way you are and you don't have to feel ashame or anything for being you (he is even proud of you for open up to him with this, but he is too shy to tell you this)
Even if you don't have problems or it doesn't make you uncomfortable when others talks about sex he is making sure no one talks about such topics around you, let alone involve you in such vulgar conversation, even threating anyone who dares to make you remotely uncomfortable with this
Tumblr media
Gundham Tanaka
Is difficult to approach to Gundham, not just for his extravagant personality but because he is used to be ignored or hates by others, just really trusting the animals he take care of, but it isn't imposible and when you manage to get close to him, even just as friend it is something really surprising for him, it take him off guard, and when he falls in love it just afect him even more (but not really in a bad way)
Being in a relationship with you is a complety new experience for him and still he never ceases to be the same so even in the relasionship he is living it in his own way, slowly getting used to recive and express love (in his own way)
As the time pass by Gundham slowly get used to have you so physicaly and emotionaly close to him, and yet that doesn't stop him from become a blushing mess anytime you show directly affection to him. Is a slowly process for him to show affection and, contrary as his villain persona, he always gives you pretty soft and loving touches
It makes Gundham happy to be with someone who accept and love him just the way he is and for him being in a relationship means sharing a lot of experiences and special moments with the person he loves (even if the moments doesn't seem too extravagant he is happy with it), and yet he doesn't really think on having sex with his partner, he barely is able to tolerate the innocent physical affection without feelings completely flustered (even when he gets used to is still a little flustered), he isn't just capable to thing in something like sex (and even when you two move forward in their relationship sex isn't really his main)
Gundham always take seriously whatever it comes to you, when you tell him that you need to tell him something important he doesn't waste time before putting his full attention to you in a serious manner and doesn't lose his seriousness after you explain that you are asexual (even when you took him off guard with the topic)
Trying to don't lose his composture Gundham tells you that he understand and reasure you that there is nothing you should worry about, he doesn't finds problems with you don't being interested on sex or not even feeling sexual atraction, Gundham Tanaka isn't like the other mortals who can be easily tempted with something so vain like sex and if you had manage to reach his cold heart it isn't because your body
Gundham is supportive over you and he is even proud that you are able to express what you are freely, he may even tell others about this braging about you are so powerful that you can't be tempted by mortal bodies (just his own way to show how proud he is of you). Also, he has no problem with standing up for you if someone is making you uncomfortable for talking about such things
Tumblr media
Kazuichi Soda
The moment Kazuichi falls in love he does it hard, he is completely head over heals for you and he doesn't even try to hide it, Kazuichi is completely open with the love he has for you even before start dating, and when you do start dating Kazuichi's happiness just increase
For Kazuichi being a good boyfriend for you means doing everything for you, in his eyes you are so beautiful and pure, someone who should be protected by anything and everything and he wants to do that, Kazuichi treats you like royalty and even when he doesn't ask for anything in return he still he craves for your love. It would take him a while to get used to be in a relationship, to be reciprocate, but he appreciate it nonetheless
For Kazuichi you are just too special so he doesn't want to rush things with you, but at the same time he wants to melt in your arms, even if you aren't shy he wants to wait until you are ready to initiate the physical affection
Also, Kazuichi is kinda pervert too, but he feels a little ashame by it sometimes, he will be lying if he says that he had never thought of you in a sexual way but he won't say it out loud, he is embarrassed for thinking about you in that way, and he is a little scare of your reaction if you ever know. That you are asexual could go unnoticed for a while but at some point Kazuichi notice how you don't seem too comfortable when the topic of sex came out, however he relate it to you being shy or even innocent
When you finally open up to him and tell him that you are asexual (and explain what being asexual implies) he will be a little shocked at first, he has never heard a term like that before nor met someone asexual before, it would take him a while to fully comprehend what are you telling to him and still when he start to get it he still seem troubled, mainly because it has been a lot of information
Kazuichi loves you just the way you are, so you being asexual won't really change his feelings for you, he is a little sad that you don't want to have sex since is something he kinda expected but he will never force you to do something you don't want to, your happiness and safety is his first priority
Kazuichi will be thinking in all of this for a while, trying to process all the information you say it to him and once he knows that some asexual people are even bother by the only thought of sex he becomes completely ashame of himself for ever thinking about you in that way. Kazuichi wants to apologize to you for doing such thing, and he does deeply apologize even when he isn't explaining why he is apologizing, he even insist on having to make it up for you, he can't just bare the thought of being the one bringing you any kind of discomfort
Kazuichi can be pretty overstated sometimes, specially when it comes to you, so it would take him a while to get used to the idea of you being asexual, not because it bothers him or something, is just that Kazuichi is too obsessed with ensuring your safety that he will kinda want to protect you from this too, somehow (he is being silly but has the best intentions)
Tumblr media
Rantaro Amami
Rantaro is a really chill and calm guy, even when he falls in love he is pretty subtle with it, he isn't too obvious with it but doesn't hide it neither, more like trying to court you but still being friendly (he wants to win your heart but not force you to anything you don't want
Rantaro can be pretty flirty and romantic, but once you two start dating he becomes more affectionate, he love PDA but he won't force you to it, so if you feel uncomfortable or are shy he will stay back in that, he can always express his love in different ways
Starting a sexual relationship isn't the main of Rantaro, he wil never force you to do anything you don't want and he prefers to wait before every new step in your relationship until both are sure that that is what you want to. Also, Rantaro is really smart and observant person, he can easily find out that you aren't comfortable or interested in the sexual part, he is curious about that but he isn't going to force you to talk if you aren't ready, but at some point he will want to know and if you don't tell him he will directly ask (sitting down to talk about it, in private to be able to focus all his attention on you and making sure no one else will heard), he isn't trying to invade your privacy but is obvious that this is something important, and if it is important for you is important for him, he wants to make sure it isn't something causing you troubles
Is probably that he already know what asexuality is, either because he had searched about it or even that one of his sister had tell him about it, and even if he already knows he want for you to explain it since it isn't the same for everyone, also he want for you to feel free to share this with him so he ask you for more details to let you know that this is important for him too
He tries to don't interrupt you and just talk to add more information or ask for something, but at the end Rantaro thanks you for sharing this with him and reasure you that this doesn't change his feelings nor the way he sees you, and he doesn't mind if you two never have sex, he loves you for who you are and not just for your body, that isn't important for him
He is completely supportive of you, he doesn't mind just showing physical affection, also he can express how much he loves you without having to get physical with you. Rantaro even ask you if there is something that makes you uncomfortable about it (some touches that you doesn't like or that cross your limits), he loves you so the last thing he wants is make you uncomfortable, even if is by accident
After making clear all your limits, what makes you uncomfortable and what you prefer he doesn't mention again this chat or that you are asexual (aside from making some jokes with you about it, and only if you are okay with it) and still is something that he always keep in mind
Rantaro wants to reach a intimacy that doesn't have to involve nothing sexual, just being able to cuddle you and hold you close is enough for him, and he always remember you that he is with you because he loves you just the way you are if you ever feel insecure about this or just because he wants to tell you how much he loves you
Tumblr media
Gonta Gokuhara
Gonta is a completely gentleman, no matter with who he is treating he is always kind, but ones he falls in love he becomes even more kind and sweet towards you if that is even posible, even when he could be pretty obvious with his crush he is still clueless of his feelings for a while
Once you two start dating Gonta is always trying to be a perfect gentleman for you and still he can be pretty shy, it would take him a while to get used to be in a relationship, still Gonta is pretty affectionate and doesn't have a problem with telling you how much he loves and appreciate you
Gonta is completely gentle with you, and yet he sometimes ask for advice to his friends in what he should do or how to act, still Gonta always ask for your permision first before trying something new
He may know a little about how couples reach a point where both have sex as a way to express your love and as usual thing but he is too shy and embarrassed by the only thought of the posibility, Gonta doesn't even let himself think on you in such way, that is not something a gentleman would do! (not like he will anyways, sex isn't that important to him and it make him feel embarrassed)
Gonta won't really get that you are asexual if you don't tell him, however he will notice if you ever feel uncomfortable or seem troubled for it (like someone talking about that or you being insecure) and, of course, he ask you whats wrong immediatly and has no problem with standing up for you if is someone specifically who's making you uncomfortable, and yet he doesn't make the connection of you being uncomfortable by sexual things
The moment you finally open up to Gonta and tell him that you are asexual it will take him a while to understand what are you telling him, is kinda complicated for him and is probably that he doesn't fully get it, so being more direct with him and telling him that you aren't interested on sex make it clear for him, it embarrassed him a little talking about such things but he is happy that you tell him something so important for you and he reasure you that is okay, if you don't want to do that then you don't have to do it!
He doesn't see any problem with not having sex with you and he is completely supportive of you, even when he doesn't fully understand all the terms you told him. However he will be thinking about it and be worried that he will make you uncomfortable if he touch you (even when his intentions are never in a sexual way), so after thinking on it he may be a little hesitant to touch you, even if is just to hold your hand or hugs you, and even apologize when he touch you by accident, it would help him a lot if you reasure him that is okay for him to touch you and leave clear your limits, as well to tell him if there is something that makes you uncomfortable (and yet he will be a little hesitant and shy for a while, but it will pass soon)

Gary and John head cannons x an overly chill high ranking demon lord.
Garry doesn't know how he summoned the reader, but is instantly feeling "on a scale from one to ten, my friend, you're fucked!"
The reader is of a drastically higher rank in hell, and the only reason why they were summoned was cause "why not?"
Gary cannot bring himself to boss around the reader cause he thinks he'll get killed, or worse, turned into the reader's personal play thing, but na. Reader was bored, and likes giving demons of lesser power severe anxiety.
When reader meets John, they're barely effected by the cross, and only slightly annoyed by the pain of the exorcism. Beyond telling him to scram, reader doesn't even attack. They're just glad to be out of hell, chilling.
Gary Miller
He was getting frustrated with John vanquishing so many demons
So he pulls out all the stops, sacrificing a thrall or two (or ten) to bring about a stronger demon to further weaken his faith.
However, Gary accidentally summons one who's a bit TOO powerful for the cult to contain: you, a demon overlord leagues above his rank.
"Astaroth, what a surprise. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Suddenly he feels like he made a huge mistake considering your reputation in Hell.
Your power easily surpassed his own, and he fears what you'd do if he explained why he called upon you..or found out that he never intended to do that at all.
The worst case scenario? You killed him and decide to rule the EOSD as your own cult.
An even worse scenario? He became your "pet" and you force him to watch you take over his mission.
Either one is horrible, so he tries making up an excuse to justify the ritual.
"Your Wickedness, there is a man..a holy man who stands in the way of our great plan. His faith is in shambles, but he is persistent and-"
"So you thought wasting my time was the best course of action?" You huff, tapping your foot. "Huh, and I was starting to like you, too...but now you just sound pitiful and desperate. You couldn't kill this one man yourself?"
He kneels, hands raised to you in a show of complete submission, completely terrified. "No, we can easily handle him, I...I just thought you would like to partake in the Profane Sabbath after we DO kill him and-"
"Woah, slow down there, Azzy...no need to look so petrified." You laugh gently, which confuses him. "Not many have been able to replicate my summoning ritual as well as you did...so well done. I needed the vacation from Hell, anyways. Now rise."
He gets up, wondering why you did a total 180.....until he remembers you just got power-trips from time to time.
You always liked to playfully threaten lesser demons out of pure boredom, but never actually acted on those threats.
So to realize you fooled him, too, left Gary extremely humbled.
Still, he's willing to whatever you say and he won't give you orders.
And he sure as hell will make sure no cult member tries bossing you around (even though you won't kill any of them).
John Ward
You showed up one night while he's wandering the forest, reminiscing over his failures to save Amy and what he could have done differently that night....
And you put the fear of fucking satan into this poor man just by standing near a tree, not even doing anything.
Even so, he freaks out upon recognizing you as a demonic overlord, holding up his cross with two shaking hands.
He didn't know why the lord was testing him so much..he had absolutely 0 strength to combat a demon of your status. But still, he tries exorcising you.
"Father, you should know that it only feels like a small itch to me."
"....wh-what?"
"Yes, we'll be here all day if you keep doing that-"
"Then I will stand here all day if I must!" He shouts despite the tremble in his voice, refusing to put down that silly stick as if it's gonna suddenly become golden again.
But it's still copper, barely inflicting any pain on you.
'And Astaroth says this is the man who's disrupting his mission?'
"I will not surrender. My faith is not weak!"
"You're right, it's not. But my tough skin cannot be easily penetrated by exorcisms. If anything, you're only annoying me more. So it would be wise to stop doing that."
Surprisingly, John listens after careful consideration, exhausted and almost in tears. He thought you were going to kill him or punish him for trying something as stupid as challenging an overlord.
Maybe you were sent to him as punishment for-
"All I ask of you, John Ward, is that you leave me be. I was just admiring the Earth's forests." You pat a tree trunk. "I suppose God did a few things right. Hate to see these beauties wither away into nothingness.."
Although he's shellshocked that you, a demon, would spare his life, he's quick to scurry back to his sedan.
He hasn't seen you since, and he thanks whoever intervened from above that he got away from you.

And I think the fact that sienna, the white fang civil rights leader who actually cared about the cause but was willing to use violence to achieve it gets killed off and her worldview barely gets acknowledge
Also I think crwby straight up compared the white fang to the black panther movement/organization?
Wether we want it to or not the show did initially frame the white fang subplot as violence vs non-violence
Plus ghira getting mad tgat adam killed a member of a lynch mob because “this is why they think they can” tells me ghira is on sone level focused in what humans think of Faunus,
Not helping that ghira gets put in charge again without having changed whatsoever
I hate to say it but intentionally or not, the idea that an oppressed minority need to “prove themselves” in any way to their oppressors is kinda racist, it’s at least problematic
Heck it’s a double standard “that we see in the real world as well” that Faunus can be branded like Adam or killed in mines like ilia’s parents to by humans like Jacques, yet humans as a whole don’t need to “prove” they aren’t him,
Because, quite frankly, most humans are entirely permissive of what Jacques and the SDC do
Yeah, Sienna's worldview is barely acknowledged. That's part of the failure to discuss racism and if responding to it with violence is justified or not.
Barbara Dunkleman, who is not a writer, said this
Barbara Dunkelman: So if anybody needs, like, a comparison for what the Faunus are in this world, it’s kind of like if you’re in the 1930s, or 1940s, whatever, and it’s like, the way African-American people were viewed.
Someone else (I can’t identify the voice): You mean like 50s and 60s, like Civil Rights Movement and stuff?
Barbara Dunkelman: Yeah.
Faunus are related to the American civil rights movement. They're certainly not viewed as poorly as African American people were viewed in the 50s and 60s, but they are still viewed and treated poorly and it is still based off of the American Civil Rights movement.
It's not 1:1 Black Panthers though. Sienna KINDA reminds me of them but not too much, Adam definitely doesn't.
The only time it was framed as violence vs nonviolence was in Blake's talk with Sun about why she left. As mentioned, that talk is about why she left, not what the White Fang is doing now. Even as early as Volume 1 and 2 it was clear that the White Fang wasn't fighting for equality.
Blake: The White Fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths. They're a collection of misguided Faunus.
Weiss: Misguided? They want to wipe Humanity off the face of the planet!
Blake: So then they're very misguided. Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a Dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!
Roman: I'm glad you asked, "Deery"! Now, I'll be the first to admit, humans... are the worst. Case in point. So, I understand why you would like to see us all locked away, or, better yet, killed!
So yeah, the White Fang was always an organization dedicated to just killing and hurting humans. In the past, it fought for equality, which is shown in Volume 1 through Blake's backstory, but it's never states that the White Fang currently fights for equality. The reason Blake left is that she didn't want to take part in the violence anymore (she never says they were wrong to resort to violence though, she just personally didn't want to be the one pulling the trigger), but the goal of the White Fang is no longer equality, as evidenced by Weiss and Roman.
You may say Weiss isn't well informed, which is true, but if she was wrong, why didn't Blake correct her? Roman is literally speaking at a White Fang rally when he says the line cited above, so he clearly knows what he's talking about.
Onto the next point...
Ghira wasn't upset that Adam fought back, he was upset when it got lethal. Ghira has a point, by killing humans, you're giving the humans an excuse to hate you more, regardless of how justified it was. It's something you wanna avoid at all costs. It's unfortunate, but it's the truth.
Ghira is put in charge of the White Fang again, only after he assembles an entire army to stop a terrorist attack in the making. I think it's pretty clear that he's past all the solely peaceful stuff.
The message is that the Faunus need to dispel racist ideas by proving them incorrect. I don't see how that's racist or problematic. Minorities should play a part in proving racist ideologies wrong.
Bear in mind that the Faunus aren't "proving themselves" as in repenting for past mistakes and whatnot, they're "proving themselves" as in "your racist idea that the Faunus are all murderers and terrorists is wrong." No Faunus apologizes for how the White Fang treats humanity. The whole thing is basically a big "you're blatantly wrong" to racist generalization that is extremely hard to ignore.
I don't see how it's racist to promote minorities proving racist ideologies wrong.
Humans in the show already prove that they aren't like Jacques by literally arresting him. They don't condone his exploitation. Hell, his own daughter doesn't condone it.
Most humans are, but by proving racist ideas wrong, the hope is that they will become less racist and ultimately oppose Jacques.

🎆HOT TAKE: Jevil was never a sane or good person. His true nature was merely exposed by the "strange someone."
(A theory by an actual insane person.)
Although this is the first time I am addressing Jevil on this blog, I feel it is worth analyzing his character due to his parallel yet vastly different experiences to Spamton's. He is very interesting, and I like him for different reasons, but I can't deny that his actions make him less sympathetic as a person.
In-game, Seam, who was once friends with Jevil, describes him as having "gone mad" after talking to a "strange someone." Fans have taken this as a reliable narrative since it's coming from a presumably old but wise figure who was once close to Jevil. However, allow me to introduce these two concepts:
The Unreliable Narrator Perhaps within Toby's intentions, Seam is portrayed as an old yet wise figure, almost like a wizard. Just because a character appears to fulfill an archetype does not mean that the character is actually that archetype.
Cognitive Bias It is a well-known fact that people are willing to see the best in others who we consider to be friends, family, or lovers. Seam thinking Jevil had "gone mad" was likely due to Jevil never expressing his worst antisocial traits openly before talking to a "strange someone."
Seam also describes Jevil as always being into games, which surprises no one given his jester themes and design. Pranksters can be mean-spirited, and in the case of his implied interactions with Spamton, this is very evident. Spamton describes him as only being into "games," and how no matter what he did (even cheating), he could not beat him. This reference is never in-game, but we can still apply it to our understanding of Jevil's character since it was part of a canon Q&A. His implied coulrophobia and disdain for clowns can either be seen as a meta-commentary and joke about the Deltarune fandom's love for secret bosses or an excellent hint of how mean-spirited and unhinged Jevil really is. Someone doesn't develop a phobia from just one bad game unless that interaction was very uncomfortable to the point where it made Spamton feel threatened (possibly for his life). (Also, I am aware some people say they are exes. Given the lack of substantial evidence of this in-game or in the Q&A, I think it's safer to say that the "ketchup kids" part merely references a meme and shouldn't be considered anything substantial for analysis.)
Jevil was already showing signs of someone with antisocial traits, particularly among individuals with Cluster B personality disorders. He also falls under the category of Personality Type B (unrelated to Cluster B personality disorders) because of his lack of urgency. We can summarize him with these hallmark antisocial traits:
Lacking remorse for actions.
General dearth of empathy.
Grandiose Self-Worth (I CAN DO ANYTHING)
Need for stimulation and prone to boredom (which is why his solitary confinement was awful for him.)
Lying and manipulative (tricks the fun gang into breaking him out of jail only to try and kill them afterward. He doesn't even want Kris or Susie's souls. He just wants to have "fun.")
Lack of any long-term goals (he merely exists for games.)
Lack of value for other's lives (he finds the idea of murdering teenagers as an exciting game.)
Blasé attitude about life. Essentially, he is doing whatever the hell he wants without fear of consequences.
Notice the recurring theme of "games." In this case, a "game" to Jevil means whatever he wants it to mean. A game for him might mean torture for another person. His bullet patterns also exemplify this. They are aggressive, cluttered, and have (fittingly) chaotic patterns. Spamton's, by comparison, are structured and not as dense, showing his restrained need to kill the party to achieve his goals (particularly with Kris.) Also, notably, Jevil never considers the party "friends" by the end of the battle, regardless if you choose the ACT or FIGHT options of beating him. If you pick the ACT option, he goes dormant as a tail, but in the FIGHT version, he stays active as the Devilsknife and shows enthusiasm about being used as a weapon (presumably) to harm others.
And here's the kicker of all this: these traits are seldom learned but are inherent to some individuals, particularly those who fall closer to psychopathy than sociopathy.
Psychopaths have strong genetic predispositions, meaning they are born that way. While there are many psychopaths who never go on to become mass murderers, it takes a significant amount of social pressure and understanding for them to realize their actions will get them into trouble.
Prior to speaking to that "strange someone," Jevil was likely held back by his perceived notions of governance and law in the Card Kingdom. As the court jester, he probably believed he could express his desire to mess with others because of his assigned role. Being the "fool" of the court, he must have made the Card Kings laugh at his expense, and for most of his existence, he was probably okay with this since jesters, in our reality, were known to make some pretty nasty jokes about royals only for it to all be laughed off. Playing games with Seam was just an added bonus, and Seam likely saw good in him that no one else did. However, Jevil learned that he could do whatever the hell he wanted with (perceived) zero consequences, and he ran with it.
Any goodwill he had with Seam or the Card Kings was dropped the instant he knew he could do anything he desired. This is not behavior from someone who is even remotely sane. The "strange someone" told him what he wanted to hear. Now, the jokes were no longer just jokes. Seam mentions Jevil saying things that don't make sense, but there is a shadow of doubt that this is the only reason he was locked away. Considering his interactions with the main party, he may have attempted to kill the Card Kings, hence why he was imprisoned by Seam, the only person, as Court Magician, who could match his strength.
This ties back to my initial arguments about Seam's unreliable narrative and cognitive bias. Seam saw Jevil as sane and playful, whereas the "strange someone" knew Jevil wanted to unleash his inner thirst for more dangerous games. These needs were always there, he just needed someone to tell him he could do them.
☠️
This is a bit of an aside, but I recommend anyone who likes Jevil to read Edgar Allan Poe's short story, Hop-Frog. It's about a diminutive jester whose attitude closely mirrors Jevil's, only without a Seam to hold that jester back. Honestly, Hop-Frog was the first thing that popped into my head after beating Jevil. It's definitely worth a read (or listen if you can't read it.)
Like with my Spamton sanity theory, I hope my Jevil analysis and insight as someone with life-long mental health problems can help others see this character in a way that may be enlightening or interesting.

nico and will on their trip to tartarus or w/e and during it nico opens up to will a bit about his relationship with jason, how jason had been basically his first real friend outside his sisters and was never dissuaded no matter how much nico tried to push him away and how he was so mindful of the fact that nico doesn't like to be touched.
at which point will is like "you don't like to be touched????" and they have to have an awkward conversation. it's not exactly will's fault since nico never said it outright – nico having been reluctant to make things difficult with this first boyfriend and all that – but will had definitely ignored some obvious signals along the line, or at least interpreted them as playful grumpiness or smth. so nico has to explain to him that people touching him just makes him anxious a lot of the time, given how he can kill plants around him when upset and whatnot. it's hard not to think of what could happen to people in the worst case scenario, and the stress of thinking about that usually just makes it worse.
nico tries to brush it all off by saying it's easier when he's comfortable with a person. but then will asks if nico's comfortable with him and nico hesitates for a second and then it's awkward all over again.
and all is made so much worse when they actually find jason's ghost while on their quest and nico immediately hugs him. and jason was always down for nico hugs to begin with, but he's also been dead for a while and hasn't been able to touch anyone so he's even clingier than normal and nico's fully willing to take advantage of that hades kid ability to touch ghosts just to give jason some comfort and they're holding hands constantly
so will's stuck between "being understanding of nico's boundaries and not begrudging jason this small comfort" and "EXCUSE ME–"

Donnie and Raphael have some red flags currently, but the good part is that they’re willing to try to overcome these. The series got cancelled so they can’t exactly deal with these issues. Leo had red flags, seems to grow out of his getting people into danger and trouble to try and be the hero complex and get tons of attention in the future cuz he lacks self worth. He killed that in the movie when he realises the worst case scenario of him having that attitude so he has zero red flags now. He used to ditch people sometimes but he’s sacrificing himself in the movie. He was just as avoidance of feelings and talking as Donnie, but he was the class clown rather than stoic. But now after meeting Casey and dealing with the krang, he appears softer and more honest. He takes other peoples issues into account. We saw a bit of that in the series, but he’d right after pull a joke. Donnie can be very stubborn, dude can take days to figure himself out after a really bad argument if you walked off instead of staying right there (stay right there) and he needs other people to actually straighten his thoughts out or he progresses zero, unless the person he is arguing with asks him why is he doing that and tells him he’s upsetting them, he’ll keep things going to an annoying degree, kind of taking his issues out on the argument, but is willing to apologise and fix the problem once he gets over himself. Is a pride thing. Avoidance of feelings unless THE TALK really NEEDS to happen where Donnie is literally about to lose someone in his life. He will never bring something up unless you do it first. Upside is: he never ditches somebody. so leaving is pretty much all on the other person. He never tells them to leave no matter how annoyed he gets. I see people writing fics on him daring a friend or partner to leave and he’s never done that in canon. He’s very loyal. Honestly he was more healthy than Leo used to be. At least he’d get you talking about the issue even if he annoys you with his pride into doing it. Leo would shut people out completely.
Raphael has trouble being alone to where he has a mental breakdown. Hasn’t dealt with this issue properly. I feel like for these two they would have gotten over their issues if we had more seasons if the movie for Leo is anything to go by. Mikey was always perfect.

One thing I like about the fell xenologue is that all characters in the main campaign have the potential to become their fell xenologue counterparts. What FX did was basically amplify their worst traits to the maximum, and that effected how they interacted with their world, and this is especially present within the royals, and with them being the leaders of their countries that trickled down into their subjects and by proxy the other characters
I feel the best example of this is Celine, who is war-thirsty and ready to attack another country to protect her own subjects from the resource epidemic their country is facing. Celine in the main campaign has shown a similar form of ruthlessness, but on smaller scales, in some of her supports. What she is in FX is that part of her times 10. She's willing to more and more to protect her people, even to go so far as to put those lives of the people she loves at risk to believe that she's saving them all, even when it eventually resultts in their deaths
Diamant is also another perfect example. While Diamant just seems to be Main Game Alcryst, he's actually far different than that. FX Diamant is a king of a country that doesn't want to go to battle, of course, and while this was always the base, I believe it symbolizes FX Diamant's fearfulness. FX Diamant is afraid, he's unsure of himself, he knows his younger brother is more fit for the throne and that Alcryst is going to have him assassinated, or even worse, bring that blade down himself. Diamant has accepted his fate, he won't fight it. He wants to lead his country the best he can, but he's also lost his father. While Alear was alive in this universe as well, Alear fell far too soon to help Diamant be able to completely process his grief, stripping him of yet another ally. The Divine Dragon was everyone's closest friend, after all
Ivy I feel is a similar case but in a slightly different way. FX Ivy is almost like main campaign Hortensia in a way, but devoted to the Fell Dragon all the same. FX Ivy begs his return, something MC Ivy would never do, which leads me to believe that after Alear's death, her faith in the divine dragons was lost, allowing her to fall back onto her previous religion out of just pure emotion. Maybe she thought Sombron would resurrect Alear despite him being the one that killed them, or maybe she just wanted to use his power for her own and burn the entire world down as revenge against the universe for allowing Alear to fall. MC Ivy in battle with FX Ivy says that she hopes that she doesn't sound like FX Ivy, meaning that MC Ivy in some way sees her behaviors in FX Ivy (I've always assumed this was because Ivy was being very careful in the MC to not let that side of herself show while FX Ivy let that side of herself run wild)
Timerra, similar to Celine, wants to do what's best for her country, except FX Timerra has a bit more of a level head on her shoulders compared to FX Celine. (Also I will admit that we didn't get that much time with her compared to others). Solm is a country that keeps to itself and helps no one unless it benefits them mostly, and the only reason they wanted to go to war with Elusia was to keep them from resurrecting Sombron and effectively save their home, so it's worth gathering an army to meet them on the field of battle. They view Elusia power-hungry, and will absolutely tear Elyos to its roots if allowed to run free
Anyways that's it, I could go on about side characters but I feel like the royals are really at the heart of it all and are the best examples I can give. There are characters that are written to just be exact opposites instead of their worst traits, such as Bunet who was described as a terrible cook which pretty much goes completely against his MC character, but you get what I mean

Is Duane supposed to come off as fascist? I never got that impression at all, At his worst he comes off as simply misguided or naive but even then he just seems like an othewrise good man in a bad situation, misled by bad ideas. I actually find the moral nuance of Unsounded refreshing, I would be disappointed to find out that it was accidental.
Duane holds a deep belief in Aldish moral and military superiority, and thinks the government and religious authorities should be obeyed without question. He was a willing recruit in an Order sent to quash a rebellion, and later in life served as an instructor and battlewright for a suppressive force in a theocratic army, executing cultists on the street even if he didn't always agree with the heavy-handed rhetoric of his fellow officials. Recently, he told Quigley that he'd have turned his own wife in, too, if she'd done the things Vienne had. I dunno how much more of a true believer he could have been :)
But he's also our Duane. He loves kids, he's a melodramatic dork who can drift into esoteric lectures on pymaric theory and the anatomy of toes, he can lose himself in a good sky or an intoxicating aria, he loves his god and his people, he laughs at Sette's jokes, and he breaks rules when they hurt his heart too much (or at least talks about breaking them, often without following through).
Duane's all these things at once. That's nuance. I am sad if this contradictory storm of traits in Duane hasn't come through, and I apologise if that's the case :( I probably should have played up the torture pit outside the temple more, and let him kill a few more Black Tongues~

“I need your help, and you can’t ask me any questions.”
on ao3
Buck froze at the kitchen sink, the smile falling off his face from where it had subconsciously popped up as he’d picked up Eddie’s call. He only took a minute to spiral through the worst case scenarios before shaking it off. It didn’t matter what Eddie had done, Buck would be there with a shovel and a lighter in minutes.
Being a firefighter had its perks- specifically very detailed knowledge on how fast and how hot fires need to be to get rid of evidence. Buck dropped to his knees and started digging for the lye soap he kept under his sink when he heard Eddie’s voice calling him from the phone abandoned next to the running sink.
“-uck! Man, you okay?!”
Buck scrambled above his head to grab his phone.
“I’m here! I’m okay! Sorry- okay, I’ll be there in like 10 minutes, just tell me what supplies you need, and don’t touch anything without gloves.”
There was a long silence, and then Eddie asked slowly, “Buck, what do you think I need your help with?” He sounded almost offended, and Buck coughed awkwardly as he tried to explain his convoluted thought process.
“Uh, no- nothing?” He didn’t sound believable, and Buck tried to cover it up, “Cleaning your uh, house?”
“If you thought that I killed somebody, and needed help covering it up, I really hope you’d ask me some questions.” Eddie said, voice breaking down into laughter as he admonished Buck’s enthusiasm.
Buck felt himself blush, heat crawling up the back of his neck as he got to his feet and turned off the still-running sink.
“Hey! I trust you- I’m sure you did it for a reason!” Buck defended himself - and hypothetical murderer Eddie- for their decisions. “It’s not like I wouldn’t help you even if you didn’t have a reason. You wouldn’t do well in jail.”
Buck could almost hear the rolling eyes across the line as Eddie scoffed loudly, “I wouldn’t do well in jail? You’d get chewed up and spit out in the first hour, Buck.”
“I don’t know about that, Eds. I bet I could find someone who’d be willing to protect me.”
The silence this time was heavy with something thick and cloying and unnamed and wanting.
“That’s a bold claim.” Eddie said slowly, daring Buck, almost, to follow through, to take them past the line in the sand they danced around every day.
Buck wasn’t brave enough for that.
“Anyways, I- uh, I actually wanted to ask if you would come with me to watch Christopher at the park,” Eddie finally coughed out, after the quiet between them had stretched so far it had left their conversation in the sticky remnants of the sheer awkwardness.
Buck immediately brightened, “Oh dude, yeah, always! You know I’d never say no to hanging out with my favorite Diaz.”
“It’s uh- he can’t actually see us there.”
“...What.”
Eddie groaned loudly, and Buck heard the sound of the sofa cushions thud as Eddie likely threw himself down in the living room.
“He’s becoming a teenager, Buck. I looked away for a second and now he’s skipping Science Club meetings and playing video games after his bedtime and defying his grounding! Why can’t he just stay a baby?” Eddie asked mournfully. Buck laughed sympathetically, wishing he could be there to embrace the tired closeness that Eddie so easily handed away this late at night.
“Oh, yeah. He’s about to outgrow you any day now. Not like that’s hard, obviously.” Buck teased softly, ambling across the loft to fall into his own armchair. He sprawled out, relaxing to the backing track of Eddie’s voice in his ear.
“Buck. He wants to hang out with his friends without me. Without any adults.” Eddie complained, and suddenly it struck Buck exactly what Eddie was talking about.
Buck wondered pitifully if Christopher would still claim him as a best friend if he asked the boy today. He resolved not to ask. He couldn’t take the outright rejection.
“Oh no. We’re losing him to puberty?” Buck bemoaned.
“We’re losing him to puberty.” Eddie confirmed, and both of them pouted in companionable silence for a moment of mourning the loss of Christopher’s idealization.
“So you’ll come with me to follow Christopher through the park, right?” Eddie asked.
“You can count on it,” Buck said, “I’ll bring the disguises.”

I have been following you for a while because you have verbalized very eloquently some of the things I felt were wrong with the Fandom without really being able to put my finger on it.
I especially like your criticism of Peter.
Which brought up a question that I have been wondering for a bit.
In season 5 Lydia could free Mason from the beast because of her banshee powers. Which made sense with the lore. But recently I was reminded of the final of season 2. Where Lydia was able to bring Jackson back to (semi-) human so he could be killed and ascend to werewolfness.
Now the reason that is stated in the show was that they are in true love. Which is never again brought up and even later refuted in a conversation between Lydia and Allison (were Lydia says she has never felt anything like Allison).
But if I remember correctly then it was Peter that said that Lydia could do it through love (might be rembering wrong tho).
Now my question is, do you believe that it could have been a part of Lydia's banshee powers manifesting that brought Jackson back? If yes, do you believe that Peter knew that this was what was happening?
Because that would be huge. Especially in terms of his stans always claiming he is always willing to share information.
Tumblr media
One of the worst things about fandom is how much it misses when, in its enthusiasm, it focuses on applying exterior tropes to a story in which they don't fit. Teen Wolf lampshaded the principles behind its storytelling frequently, but the fandom, so invested in seeing a completely different story, just ignored those instances.
Let's take your example: Lydia was able to partially free Jackson from the kanima state and how she was able to free Mason from the artificial possession by The Beast. In my opinion, it was fully justified by the show because it conformed to the principles established within the narrative. In this case, there are four principles, which I will go over.
The evolution of truth into legend. Jennifer summarized this in Alpha Pact (3x11): "Argent… The French word for silver. Ah, ah, ah. Interesting how truth becomes altered by legend… When it's not actually the metal silver that kill werewolves but the family." There are truths in the supernatural world but like many things in history, they have been obscured by the passage of time or by the agenda of those writing history. In this case, there is indeed a myth that you can cure a werewolf by calling out its Christian name. In the show's universe, this turns out to be partially true, but it's not just anyone who can do this. Lydia's voice is powerful enough to achieve this result, but so is Scott's. Remember, he calms down a raging Isaac twice in Unleashed (3x04) and Frayed (3x05) and an angry Kira in a Credible Threat (5x17). How? Well, that goes into the second principle.
Identity is important to the supernatural. The saying "the shape you take reflects the person that you are" is repeated often enough throughout the series for us to comfortably use it as a lens through which to view the action. Again, Jennifer seems to give us some insight, though this time in The Overlooked (3x10): "It's a way of not completely letting go of your identity, since your name is so tied to your sense of self." When Lydia and Scott cause others to revert, they are empowering who their targets actually are, allowing them to resist the supernatural power threatening to overwhelm them. As evidence, the most inhuman and inscrutable of the enemies in Teen Wolf have no real names to speak of. The nogitsune and the anuk-ite are types of creatures; actual names seem unimportant to them. The Dread Doctors shed their identities through masks and generic titles (the Surgeon, the Pathologist, the Geneticist). The Wild Hunt is a force of nature, and it increases its power by erasing the identities of others.
However, sometimes the name isn't enough. Why? Emotional connection is a component of supernatural power. A werewolf is out of control until it finds an anchor. The sacrificial ritual required an object with meaning to find the parents, and it required an emotional tether to pull them back. Scott found the strength to break the Berserker skull when Liam reminded him of their bond. Sebastien was distracted by what he felt for Marie-Jean and Scott felt for Allison. Stiles was summoned from the Wild Hunt when people re-established their emotional connections to him. Jackson didn't revert from the kanima state because it was a banshee who called his name; he reverted because of the emotional connection he had with that particular banshee, whom he felt a connection to so much he gave her a key to his house. As another aside, Jackson is mostly uninterested in the goings on during the movie, but he's always there. Where is he? With Lydia. Even though he's with Ethan now, the emotional connection to her still exists.
Yet, why wasn't this principle always clearly known by the characters? Well, there's another principle for that. Peter Hale is a lying liar who lies. He's a con artist, and con artists are known for presenting information in a precise way to get what they want. He obviously knew what Lydia was -- she was his back-up plan -- but he just waxed lyrical about the 'power of human love' because he didn't want to share that information with Derek just yet. He stressed the ruthlessness needed against Berserkers at the end of season 4, because he needed to keep the others focused on survival, not their emotional connection to Scott. He relented in 6B because he realized that the daughter he wanted to protect had created an emotional connection -- however short-lived -- with Scott, but he hid that information.
Lots of people like to be critical about Teen Wolf with the excuse that the writers were making it up as they go along. I personally reject this because I feel we were supposed to come to the story through the teen-age point of view; like them, we didn't have all the information and that was part of the payoff of the show. As for "making it up," maybe they did and maybe they didn't. It doesn't really matter because in the end, the show remained consistent in its storytelling by adhering to the principles it clearly established.
It's not a plot hole if the audience doesn't like the rules by which the story operates or the audience couldn't bother to pay attention to them in the first place. I hope this answered your question.

i wish i hadn’t read that. someone using one of my posts to suit their narrative.
because i don’t think mew talks down to his friends.
he always makes rational statements that are true. what people don’t like is how he delivers his messages. he’s pretty blunt and he doesn’t sugarcoat.
ray was suicidal. but is he still? at what point is someone allowed to tell you that opting for a slower death versus an imminent one is just as bad?
when mew tells ray he’ll die before he’s 30. is it blunt? yes. but is it untrue?
1) driving while drunk increases his risk of death insurmountably. i know someone who died in a motorcycle accident the summer after college at 23 while under the influence 2) drinking excessively can lead to cirrhosis which is permanent damage and scarring to the liver, affecting liver function and in the worst case, your liver starts to fail. i know someone who got severe cirrhosis in his 30’s 3) drug use also increases risk of death because you can never know what’s been cut into them. how many celebrity OD stories are out there? look into how many members of the 27 club ended up there because of drugs 4) when ray was giving his birthday speech to mew and he talking about the future. i don’t know if he’s implying a future without him. i don’t speak thai. i do speak another se asian language though and we don’t have tenses. so you only know if someone means ate, eating, or will eat based on certain time words people use. will eat/future tense is very vague. the speaker has to specify the time period. because otherwise it can mean later today or it can mean in the distant future. update: from what i read just now, thai is similar.
and if ray HAD been saying goodbye to mew. i would still not forgive him. because doing it via car not only impacts him but potentially others on the road. and i can’t say the words but i know the person in this article. the person who ran into his family, did so intentionally, trying to kill himself and that motherfucker had the audacity to LIVE when they did not.
time and time again, ray has shown a blatant and willful disregard for human life. he drives to yo’s bar when he’s SOBER. he makes that decision when he’s sober and when he knows half of his friend group cannot drive. i wouldn’t give a fuck if he got wasted and took a taxi because that’s at least responsible but as soon as he gets behind the wheel, my sympathy goes right out of the door. and to know he makes that decision before drinking, that’s not just reckless, that’s actually diabolical.
how many times documented on the show has he tried or actually gotten behind the wheel? three times? how many times do you think he’s done it in the past? dozens, 50, more? he is playing God with anyone else who has the misfortune to also be on the road with him.

Elured and Elurin as patron Maiar of lost children in the wild
(Stupid ooc headcanon time)
What if Elured and Elurin became Maiar after death in the forest
The thoughts and wanders and grieves about the lost princes of Doriath were so intense, that they accidentally got turned into Maiar
When people, especially children, went missing in the wild
Sometimes there were two ghostly elf children or two grey mourning doves coming for them
They led them to safety, to home
If the people could not make it, they guided the spirits to rivers, where water Maiar would guide them across the sea
Sometimes they trapped people a little while to play with them
They died as children; their form never changed much. They never got to grow up so they did not know what they’d look like as adults
—————
What if they were the ones who led Maedhros & Maglor to Elrond & Elros
Right after the attack happened, Elwing sent many children of the city away in secret. If she learned anything from Idril it was to always have secret escape ways. She had been building them for years.
She built those escape ways for that eventual Morgoth invasion. It would be quite delusional to think they’d survive at this point. She wished her husband best luck, but she was going to be the pessimist one and prepare for the worst.
She just never expect when doom come for her it was Sons of Feanor.
She stayed behind and organized her people to fight, keeping the Noldor gem with her. It was too much a burden and she would not let her sons suffer it like she was forced to. And it was a good distraction; the Sons of Feanor would have their full attention on her instead of the children, and even they’ll take it from her dead body (like they took the ships over five hundred years ago) she was damned determined to give them a very difficult time.
When the battle was finally lost she jumped to her presumed death with manic smile, knowing they’d have to risk Osse to get their shiny rock, the greedy Noldor, so protective of their brothers yet were willing to abandon her brothers to the mercy of a frozen forest
But she did not know Sons of Feanor learned and they sent force to find the evacuated groups, in case the gem was being carried away like last time
There were only three of them left. If they failed they could not do this ever again. And they tasked their youngest to track down those fleeing groups; it would be nice to spare him from the mass murder they were about to commit
It was Amras, the remaining great hunter, that tracked down and found the twins. But he was killed in the fight with the guards, who were from Doriath and were very determined to protect the children. It was enough; these Noldor killed their former king and queen and their two princes and probably their current queen too and now they are going to finish their slaughter of the whole line of Thingol do the work for Morgoth
And the twins fled into the wild, chased by Amras’s followers, with every intention to revenge their leader’s death just like those who revenged Celegorm
Two doves guided the children to a cave, but they could not stay hidden forever, someone had to take them to safety
The Havens was totally defeated, and it was too far away anyway. Their power never extended beyond the wild.
It was horrible that they had to pick the least murderous enemy to save their kin
And they remembered the tall scary elf killing the evil elf who murdered them, and wandering in the forest for days calling their names
(They were never found because they had been dead and buried deep beneath the land)
If the tall scary elf came they would lead him to their nephews. They hoped he came.
—————
(Maglor saw the twins of Dior occasionally in the latter ages.)
(He initially thought they were hallucinations. He sometimes saw his victims everywhere. The weird thing was these hallucinations were not yelling at him to jump into the sea. Took him a long while to realize they were actually real, and he reacted with absolute horror “you did not answer the Call?”)
(He tried to convince the twins to go to Valinor. The twins would prefer to stay on this side of the sea because there were always people lost in the wild. They had purpose here. And relatives)
(The twins tried to convince him to sail because he had a home and why wouldn’t he return? His mother was alive and his homeland was not beneath the sea. The conversation went as well as one could expect.)
(I think the twins had pretty good relationship with Daeron though)
(Melian and Elrond visited occasionally. Elrond had these nice cozy dark forests he grew himself. They also sometimes got to take a ride on their sister’s husband’s flying ship)

So, you brought this up in a recent post "his moral code that focuses on killing off only the worst brand of criminals". I am curious what your stance on this take is then.
Namely, I never felt Jason was over focused on a "Kill the worst criminals" ideology, he's not some Punisher analogue or wasn't in UTRH & the GA Crossover.
Instead, while I do think there's certain figures who he thinks crossed too many lines to be worth keeping around. That is ideology was focused on killing as a power move for control.
IE, he didn't kill those eight lieutenants cos they were particularly immoral, he killed them to establish control over their bosses and gangs.
He kills strategically to accomplish his goals and is largely utilitarian about it, at least in UTRH. This doesn't gloss over his claims of a moralistic element.
IE he left several gangs that primarily exploit children and trafficked people out of his recruitment drive and then killed them all with Onyx that one time.
But as a general rule I always took it that when written in UTRH, his stance was less "I am killing you because its moral" and more "I am killing you because it to my goals."
this is such a multi-layered question, i love it.
i think i hinted at it, but i believe that the focus on the worst criminals is a reading that is more of a wishful thinking interpretation rather than what is actually going on in utrh. and i’m actually sympathetic to it, because it aims to reconstruct the canon to make jay’s characterisation closer to his pre-death personality. it might also be in part based on jason’s monologue in the finale, especially on “i’m not talking about scarecrow or penguin. HIM. just him” bit, but if we want to stay faithful to the text (which i actually don’t. but i am willing to play with it for the time) this is jason’s request for bruce rather than what guides his own actions!
in reality, i agree that jason’s killing in utrh seems to be more strategic. having said that, it being strategic and being part of a plan (a plan that also has some more personal aims) doesn’t mean it’s devoid of moral motivations. and in these terms, i think it’s simply utilitarian rather than based on specific evaluations of each person. and utilitarianism is an ethical theory, even if certain versions of it accommodate treating people as means. so jay might have some extensive plans and commit deeds that seem (and imo are) vile, but it’s all for the “greater good” (sorry for a simplistic and bastardised definition of utilitarianism, but i doubt anyone cares about it here.) so, in short: jason’s murders are supposed to lead to maximising “moral” profit and protection of the innocents. (i would joke here that unfortunately he missed lots of his maths education, but let's be real, his maths is excellent; the problem lays within the theory itself and the twisted in-world reality that dc editorial crafted)
having said so, i'd like to still give credence to a headcanon that even with the case of lieutenants he probably did a thorough check to make sure that they actually “deserved” death, even if i doubt he was very merciful in his judgement. and that’s already my own guess and not something that is visible in the text.
at the same time, while jason’s plan seems extremely calculated, i don’t think at the deepest level this is what he’s getting at in utrh. and i’m not even talking about bruce here and his own emotional needs, because that would require an entire essay; his plan is surely tied to his own emotional trauma (but not stemming only from it, as i said, he does care about gotham to a pathological extent), that most people have to agree with. but here i want to address the ethical layer of the problem.
i talk a lot about jason wanting to fix the world, but when it comes to utrh, this is obviously a certain mental shortcut: what jason thinks is that there’s no way to completely fix the world, but that it’s still within his responsibility to attempt to minimise the harm. you can’t eliminate crime, but you can (as you said) control it. or however he worded it. and i don’t reckon control here is just some personal power trip; i think he genuinely believes this is what has to be done to protect people. it’s a nice bridge in between his natural idealism and cynicism; he says: well, there’s lots of evil in the world and i can’t get rid of all of it. but i have to try to purge as much of it as possible. whatever it takes.
while i'm convinced this is the concept that came to life mostly due to winick’s complete disinterest in jason’s inner life and motivations, and because he tried to make him a perfect foil for bruce, it does bring in some intriguing considerations. if we want to reconcile this reasoning with jason’s og personality and sensitivity, i imagine it would take an unimaginable toll on him. it would be much easier for him to kill in rage, retribution etc., but this is a plan that despite coming from a place of delusional care and hope, requires detachment that is very out of character for him. it stands against everything he was as a robin; it requires him to kill a version of himself. (he can't even attain that detachment till the end, as his monologue is as emotional and true to himself as it gets. but at this point he no longer is just killing a part of himself, he's just killing himself, end of sentence)
this thought is very compatible with what i call the no good deed interpretation btw, according to which he sees his past, vulnerable self as weak, and attempts to leave it behind, while creating his new identity to be untouchable. in a similar manner, he also manipulates his own worldview to make it seem like it’s impossible to help people while caring. this is an intensely paradoxical view, especially that his main motivation is still love, and yet in his eyes it's like a parasite.
it’s also tied to something that makes me think that in the end the utilitarian dimension is not actually the main (sole) feature of his moral disposition in utrh. what is the core of it is self-sacrifice, something that i talk about in this post.
btw this is not what i think the best course of jason’s moral development is. i’m not even deadset on this reading. it’s rather a possible interpretation of canon, that implements a patchwork of different moments in the continuity. and canon is free real estate.
