Max Adler has been cast as Alain Delon in the concept cast album of „Charles Bronson: More Than a Vigilante – The Musical".
I know that Max was in a glee club and I always thought it was a pitty, he never got to sing on Glee. In season 2 when the footballer had to be in the glee club for a week it would have been the perfect opportunity. They could have given him a part in She's Not There.
Happy he now has a chance to sing.

Morally grey characters aren't very uncommon--although they certainly are in the Pokemon anime! I can basically think of the Team Rocket trio (many examples, but their loyalty to their own Pokemon, while stealing Pokemon from their loving trainers, and how they stood up against Faba when he wanted to erase Lillie's memories), Colress (Colress is the only real example I can think of one completely following his own moral code, except he doesn't appear to have any morals at all! He just does whatever serves his curiosity and love of scientific discovery, whether others see it as good or bad, and he doesn't mind manipulating others), and maybe Alain (although Alain was definitely unwitting and manipulated for most of it, so more of an antihero trying to protect his loved ones and unknowingly getting tangled up in something much darker than he imagined--in terms of his intentions and knowledge, he wasn't one starting out, he just thought he'd shield Professor Sycamore from being tainted with any unsavoury associations with Mega Evolution...)
Trip's very unique to me because you don't often see a morally grey child character and he isn't even framed as an antagonist, exactly, but a rival. He and Ash have moral clashes over how to handle the Venipede, but both have the inherently noble/good goal of saving Castelia city. Trip has no other reason to linger there, he hates delaying and is usually constantly travelling to the next objective, he didn't even usually watch tournaments to their completion...
Idealistic Ash believes they can reason with the Venipede or at least safely corral them into the park and then figure out why they rampaged, but Trip calls Ash naive and assumes it's due to his rural background and things just don't work out that way in Unova. ^^;;; He's much more cynical... and he listens in on their plan, follows Ash and company, only to rather treacherously interrupt what they were doing by attacking the Pokemon, to deal with them by force (which is the only way he believed things could be accomplished at that point), but ALSO for the challenge.
A little selfishness seeping in there, too, because he wanted to attack the leader of the Venipede for the challenge, because it must be strong. ^^;;;; Well, he is very ambitious...
But when he sees Ash's gentler means can accomplish things, he assists him, saves his Pokemon from an attack, and gently guides the Venipede along with Ash.
It's likely this incident that makes him question what his memory of meeting Alder led him to believe makes someone strong.
He asks Adler the questions he doesn't receive a real answer to until the Junior Cup (namely because these are questions Trip and his Pokemon will have to find the answers to themselves...), and unfortunately, we saw how his disappointment in the gentler/more laidback Alder of the present made him double back on his old ways, but the important thing was that he began to question if brute force and winning battles was all that made someone strong.
I think he's especially fascinating because he is young and a rookie trainer and still trying to figure things out, he could easily go either way, depending on the influences, into a more heroic or more villainous character. I just find that infinitely more fun to write.
Also, how often do you have a child character with an ends justifies the means approach to things, who doesn't flinch or even protest being called unjust, or even when told the violent path they're going down will lead to great losses on both sides?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... also, his still being a child character also makes for more interesting relationship dynamics you wouldn't easily get with older characters, since folks will tend to be a bit more patient (or at least have take pity on him), I actually really love writing with characters that effectively adopt him in games. ;3; The fact that he's still learning and trying to figure out what it truly means to be strong and has to challenge his own (very cynical but alas, unexplained...) notions about the world...
Also the fact that he is so uncertain about his path--the arrogance is a cover, he's actually a very insecure character underneath and that's why he needs answers from Alder so badly, even while he was mad at him for falling short of his idealized memory of him. ^^;;; He immediately blames his loss on him doing something "wrong" or his lacking something rather than simply a difference in experience. Alder could tell Trip loved him, that's why he wanted answers from him specifically, even if he was mad at him, because even during their battle, when he asked him about his motivations, why he battled, he said it was to prove his strength to Alder... that's all this was about. Trip just wants to prove himself to his idol, his hero.
Tumblr media
That's the sweetest, saddest motivations I can think of for a character like that.

A small island off the coast of Greece holds a secret so dreadful that once you step onto its soil you must remain there forever. General Pherides (master of horror Boris Karloff) is one such a visitor. Going to the island to honor the grave of his late wife, Pherides discovers that it’s held in the grip of a terrifying plague – a sickness that enters the victim’s mind and drives them insane! Pherides leads the fight against the plague, but then falls prey to it himself. In his delirium, he believes that a woman named Thea (Ellen Drew) is a vorvolaka – a vampire responsible for the deaths. Insanity runs rampant, and grave robbery, premature burial and ghastly vampires are the unspeakable horrors that await on the Isle of the Dead.

Bravo, Enrico! Bravo, Mario! Renowned tenor Mario Lanza portrays his longtime singing idol Enrico Caruso in the crowd-pleasing musical that was 1951’s #4 box-office hit. Suggested by Dorothy Caruso’s biography of her husband, The Great Caruso rings out with aural pleasures (27 musical selections) and shines with the grandeur of a life lovingly refracted through the Hollywood biopic lens. The music (by Puccini, Donizetti, Verdi and more) emphasizes works most closely associated with Caruso. The story, spanning Caruso’s Naples boyhood to worldwide acclaim and tragedy-stricken final performance, touches on the down-to-earth character traits that spread the singer’s fame beyond the black-tie society of Metropolitan Opera connoisseurs. Nominated for three 1951 Academy Awards®, the movie won for Best Sound Recording.

Years of police work have taught Detective Finlay that where there’s crime, there’s motive. But he finds no usual motive when investigating a man’s death by beating. The man was killed because he was a Jew. “Hate,” Finlay says, “is like a gun.” Robert Young portrays Finlay, Robert Mitchum is a laconic army sergeant assisting in the investigation of G.I. suspects, and Robert Ryan plays a vicious bigot in a landmark film noir nominated for five Academy Awards®, including Best Picture. Edward Dmytryk (Murder, My Sweet) directs, draping the genre’s stylistic backdrops and flourishes around a topic rarely before explored in films: anti-Semitism in the U.S. Here, Hollywood takes aim at injustice...and catches bigotry in a Crossfire.

Pierre André Benoit et James Guitet. Ce qui vient. [Alès, PAB], 1985. Reliure de Georges Leroux et Martin Mélin, 1993 ;
Marcel Proust. Trois poèmes et un dessin. [Alès], PAB, 1958. Reliure de Pierre-Lucien Martin, 1960 ;
René Char et Georges Braque. Jeanne qu’on brûla verte. [Alès], PAB, 1956. Reliure De Pierre-Lucien Martin, 1960 ;
Max Ernst et Guillaume Tempel. Maximiliana ou l’exercice illégal de l’astronomie. Paris, Le Degré Quarante et Un, 1964. Reliure de Georges Leroux, 1976 ;
André Breton et divers auteurs, EROS - Exposition InteRnatiOnale du Surréalisme 1959-1960. Reliure de Monique Mathieu,1984 ;

People out here saying that Ash winning a league = Ash’s journey is finished but...
...a recent interview with the PokeAni staff a while back had them talk about how there was more to being a “Pokemon Master” besides winning a regional league or tournament.
Then in another interview years ago, the director behind the Battle Frontier arc has stated that the day Ash becomes  a “true” Pokemon master, the anime series will end altogether.
http://www.pokebeach.com/2008/07/second-pokemon-interview-with-masamitsu-hidaka-many-interesting-points
As of Diamond and Pearl, it is very clear that Ash winning a regional tournament or becoming a Pokemon Champion of a region does not equate him to being a Pokemon Master yet. Especially when the world of Pokemon is so vast. I actually think as of now, someone like Steven, Cynthia or Adler could beat Ash if they were going full out. He’s still a kid compared to the rest and while he is skilled, he isn’t quite Red level yet.
Keep in mind after the Mask Royale exhibition match, we still have four to six more episodes of SuMo to go. None of us have any idea where it’ll go from there - or if it’ll have foreshadowing for Galar. We don’t even know if Ash will keep his title or hand it over while still having the league win on his record because he can’t keep traveling otherwise.
Ash is the First Champion of Alola in the anime-verse, this is true. However, even he knows that there’s still a ton of room to grow and keep getting stronger in the face of aces like Steven, Alain, Cynthia and many others he’s faced off against in the past.
I don’t think Ash settling down in Alola is on the writers’ agenda especially when he’s the type to keep moving about.
That aside, real happy for Ash and I’m quite surprised as to how much media coverage his victory has had on multiple news feeds.
