Ok some sweet headcanons for the sake of Valentine's Day

Johnny can feel Simon from a distance, even without any messages or notifications. He just minds his own business, and then "oh, Ghost will be home soon" and goes to meet him on the airfield

Price never asks a lot of questions. Unlike Gaz who doesn't miss an opportunity to ask how it works. No one knows. Not even Soap. But the moment Ghost steps out of the helo Johnny can feel it. Price once witnessed that. One moment Soap was talking about the rookies and his training program and the next one he was already going to the hangars. Once you see how his eyes just light up you can never forget it. Price even followed Soap, to see if the rumours were actually true. Nobody expected Ghost so early. But there he was. Visibly exhausted and covered with all the roads dirt from the Nowhere, Edge of the Earth. Genuinely happy to see Soap. Not surprised at all.

After that Price hears about several other occasions from the soldiers. People even make bets whether or not Soap misses Lt this time. But they never win.

The wind howls at the landing platform. Soap smiles and reaches for the duffel bag. It is almost impossible to hear anything because of the helo but Johnny knows that Simon will know it anyway.

Actually the implications of John also being bisexual are so fucking tasty to me because like. OG John has no support system and no protection against the world except his own perceived strength so he learns to ferret out anything that can possibly be seen as weakness to those around him and that includes any affection or attraction he might feel towards men because nothing screams "stay in your fucking closet" like spending all your time around a fringe subculture of serial killing doomsday preppers in the Midwest during the Reagan era.

By the time he notices Dean starting to look a little too long at boys his age, he's probably convinced himself that whatever he felt (still feels but ignores) was a temporary youthful indiscretion, and of course Dean can't afford those, doesn't get to have those, he's got to be a soldier. i am so emotional with harpocrates and dion's side quest. harpocrates who blames himself for not have offered dion his friendship and support besides the knowledge he shared with him when he was once his tutor. dion who feels so incredibly guilty for having destroyed his nation, what he held the most deer, who feels deeply ashamed and scared of what the person that inspired him all those years ago might think of him and his character after his deeds. harpocrates who doesn't blame him for another's ill intent but recognizes the anguish the prince battles with everyday and who wants to atone for his sense of personal failure towards him by gifting him the flower that represents his nation and making him know he isn't defined by his roots, that he is proud of the man the prince became. dion who is so thankful for the role the loresman had in his life but doesn't feel worthy of receiving the symbol of his people before fullfiling the duty he believes he has, si he defers the flower until after he bids his life against the one who ruined his nation to atone for the crimes he committed. harpocrates who plans cultivate wyvern tails for dion's return and bids farewell with an obvious sadness in his voice. dion who's reparation of his wrongdoings has been looking a bit too much like a forever depart...
