Okay so I saw your post about needing a Eddie request and I gotchu rn. I’ve been trying to write with this storyline for weeks but I can’t finish it for some reason and I have a feeling you can do it better.

it’s kinda a dom!reader x sub!eddie type thing BARE WITH ME HERE

Basically Eddie and reader are dating and at school that day, reader hears someone in the halls talking about how Chrissy was seen by his trailer and then later that day in the cafeteria reader thinks she saw Eddie and Chrissy making fuck me eyes at each other. (Obviously she’s just being jealous and delusional but she doesn’t know that). Later eddie goes to her house just to see her and he realizes that’s she’s being quiet and is giving him the cold shoulder. Which leads to a argument and about what she saw then eddie telling her it wasn’t true and Chrissy was only there for weed and just reassuring reader that she’s the only one he loves. Reader is still angry so while they’re making out that leads to sex and she’s the dom so she’s taking out her emotions on him a bit (he’s consenting tho, nothing dubious here) but she’s calling him names which he loves so damn much and she’s degrading him and riding his face blah blah blah I think you get it from here but yeah. This is long as shit I’m sorry😭

Majority Hellfire were chatting about the next campaign while eating lunch at our usual spot in the cafeteria. You had stopped at your locker to grab your lunch and your belongings for your upcoming lesson. You had met Robin and walked the remaining distance to the cafeteria with her, chit-chatting while you overheard some of the fellow students engaging in gossip. It wasn't until Eddie and Chrissy were mentioned that you gave it any thought. "Have you heard?", "Chrissy was seen at Eddie's place yesterday, I wonder what they were doing.". "Doesn’t Eddie have a girlfriend?" She said in a way that made it clear she was speaking to you, you and Robin walked faster to get away from the gossip.

"Okay, what did I just hear?" You panicked, tears welling up in your eyes, wondering if Eddie had been having an affair with Chrissy behind your back. Robin is holding you as you start to cry as she consoles you. " Hey, relax. We don't even know if it's true yet. Seriously, do you think Eddie would really cheat on you?" Robin comforted.

You wiped your eyes and sighed, "I mean- I don't know." Chrissy is attractive, so I don't blame him", you admitted. " Hey, don't talk about yourself like that! You're very attractive, majority students want you!" Robin rubbed your back and said. “You’re Right, maybe i should go in there and see what happens” you said, with a fake smile. “Alright, just know im here for you- if anything goes wrong come to me, alright?” Robin said and patted your back. “Thank you Robin, really thank you” you send her off with a smile before reaching into your pocket and grabbing your small mirror to fix your makeup.

You had gone to the table where your friends were seated; normally, you would have sat on Eddie's lap, but after learning the rumours, you weren't feeling it. After saying hi to everyone, you took a seat Next to Eddie. Eddie had prepared space on his lap for you; had even expected you to sit there, so when you didn't even turn to face him, he knew something wasn't right..

"What are the plans for Hellfire, Eddie?" Gareth questioned as he ate a grape. Eddie hadn't caught the group's attention. He wasn't even looking at them; instead, he was concentrating on the cheerleaders' table. When you turned around, Chrissy was staring Eddie's way, and Eddie was doing the same. It almost looked like Eddie wanted to fuck Chrissy right there, you thought.

At this point, you werent sad. You were furious and jealous.

“Eddie!” Dustin shouted at him in an effort to attract his attention. "What's up guys," Eddie said when he finally turned to face the group. Totally baffled by what was happening, he asked. “Are you all right?” Eddie raised a brow. “Y-yeah, uh-Uhm, we were wondering..what we're doing for Hellfire tonight." He looked at everyone else so they could nod.

“Haven’t finished the campaign yet, been busy lately.” Eddie said not looking at anybody. ‘Busy how?’ you thought, could be had been busy with Chrissy? You had tried to not think much of it but it’s really getting to you, Eddie not being honest and now giving up his time for her? “Uh- Hey guys i need to go meet Robin for- something yeah ill see you guys later”. you quickly gathered your stuff and left the table before you did something you shouldnt have done. You had told Robin to meet you in the bathroom- locking yourself in the stall as you waitied for her. You hurried outside when you heard the door open to find Robin. " Hey, what's up, what happened?" Robin questioned. "I really think Eddie is cheating. I saw him staring at Chrissy like he wanted to Fuck her; Chrissy was doing the same, and now he didn't even finish the campaign because he was "busy!" you cried. "Hey, relax, I told you. are going to resolve this, okay?" " Oh fuck, now I have class with him, what am I going to do, I don't even want to look at him now", the bell for the next lesson rang. As you paced the room, " Hey, I'm in your class too; can we sit together, alright? Don't give him your satisfaction; instead, ignore him, and make him upset because he sorely deserves it", grinned Robin. “Y-yeah your right- im not gonna speak to him today honestly, he can go run to Chrissy for all i care.” you laughed.

You and Robin entered the room and saw that Eddie had reserved a seat for you next to him at the back of the classroom. You and Robin exchanged glances as you took your places at the front of the class; you didn't even return Eddie's smile, which made him even more suspicious. you and Robin were having a quiet conversation as the class went on, it was something normally you and Eddie would do. He could see you smiling and laughing- something you hadnt been doing with him all day. When the class was finally over, you and Robin quickly left to avoid speaking to Eddie. When you went back to your locker to get your belongings to go home, you and Robin couldn't stop laughing at how Eddie looked when you both to ignored him. " You should have seen the expression on his face! You both laughed as you left the school through the doors. "It was honestly so funny!". “Hey!" A voice you knew asked, "Uh sweetheart, you coming to Hellfire tonight?" Eddie must have run to catch up with you because you turned around to see him gasping heavily. You replied coldly, "Hey, I'm really busy tonight." You replied coldly. “Oh. Okay.” Eddie squinted. "Have fun." you shruged, leaving the school. You had taken a shower and changed into your silk pyjamas around eight o'clock. You had been watching a movie that Eddie and you planned to watch on the weekend. You had missed Eddie, but how could you, he 'cheated' right? you were lost. You wanted to talk to him but at the same time you didnt want too, how could he do this?

You had been lost in your thoughts as you heard the fimilar three knocks at your bedroom window, great. Eddie was here.

You turned to see him- he looked really sad and frustrated at the same time. You walked to the bedroom window, and opened it.

“Uh he-” “What did i do?” Eddie spat, climbing into your room. “What do you mean? you sassed back. “I said what. did. I. do?” Eddie was starting to get furious. “I should be asking you what you did Eddie! You think i dont know about Chrissy going to your house and not telling me? and you dont think i didnt see you staring at her across the cafeteria? What the fuck Eddie!” you screamed hitting his chest. “W-What the fuck Y/N! Why the fuck would i seeing Chrissy!” He yelled. “Okay why the fuck are you yelling at me like i was the one who was seeing someone behind your back!” pushing him to the corner of your room. “YOU CANT EVEN ANSWER MY FUCKING QUESTION! WHY WOULD I SEE CHRISSY IF I LOVE YOU Y/N. SERIOUSLY I WAS GIVING HER WEED BECAUSE SHE ASKED!” he screamed in your house. “OKAY FIRST OF ALL, WHY WOULD YOU NOT TELL ME IF YOU WERE JUST GIVING HER WEED HUH? AND SECOND OF ALL YOU KEPT STARING AT HER IN THE CAFETERIA! YOU DIDNT EVEN TALK TO ME AT LUNCH EDDIE.” “OH-FUCK! IM SORRY OKAY? I LOVE YOU AND ONLY YOU Y/N. YOU HAVE TO TRUST ME OKAY, I PROMISE ITS ONLY YOU SWEETHEART I PROMISE.” You looked at Eddie as his expression soften up- however, you were still furious. “Sweetheart.” You hadn’t responded to him, you had looked at him with an expression he could never forget, you didnt know if you could believe him. “I dont know what to believe.” you laughed moving closer to him. “You could be lying to me Eddie”. “But im n-” you smashed your lips aganist Eddies harshly. You didnt wait for him to adjust, you only cared about how you felt at the moment. The kiss was full of salivia and moans. you bit his bottom lip as groaned aganist your lips. “I dont care what you say, im gonna do whatever i want to you and your not gonna do anything until i say so.” “Yes maam” Eddie murmured aganist your lips. You guys continue to make out as you threw him aganist the bed; you climbed on top on him and grind on top of his growing erection. “Oh- fuck go faster” Eddie groaned, kissing your jaw. “Ill go fast if i want too, dont order me.” you spat as you reconnected your lips fighting for dominance.

I finished reading "Lucas On The Line" and I really enjoyed it through and through.

There are only 3 things I disliked from the book (more like 2, the first one is a complaint more than anything else), and I'm gonna start by mentioning them before diving into what I liked the most:

I wish the damn book was longer. I would gladly pay to read Lucas' POV of everything that happened on season 4.

Lucas being at odds with Mike, Dustin, and Max around the time the Byers moved to California doesn't sit right with me. If he was barely on speaking terms with them, they can't expect me to believe he joined forces with Max to make fun of Dustin. No way in hell.

The book states the Championship Game was on April 4th, 1986, when it was actually held on March 21st. In fact, season 4 was already finished by April 4th. Perhaps the author had access to early scripts in which the season was set in the first week of April instead of the final week of March, but it still annoyed the fuck out of me.

Okay, so now onto my favorite parts:

Lucas being torn between his loyalty to his friends and wanting something different for himself than what he always had was an excellent storyline, as was his struggle to find his place and trying to understand where he came from and what he wanted out of life. Eventually, he realized what he truly desired was to be with his friends, to help them, and even protect them. It was ridiculously endearing and a reminder of why so many of us fell in love with him in the first place. Because Lucas is fiercely loyal, selfless, and protective, and will stop at nothing to help those he loves. Those are great qualities to have in a character and the book excelled at showing that.

All of the Lumax content was *chef's kiss*. Lucas' anguish at being unable to reach out to Max and his desperation as he feels her slip away was painful to read, but it also provided much-needed insight into how their relationship deteriorated between seasons 3 & 4.

Every Lumax scene from season 4 has a different meaning to me now. I love them even more.

Not Lucas saying he and Max are best friends first and that's why their relationship is so special 😭 THAT'S THE MAIN REASON WHY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH:

The absolute fear Lucas felt when he thought Max was going to die broke my heart because I imagine how he felt when she died for real, even if she was brought back to life shortly after.

Very random moment but there's a mention of Annie and Lucas imagining the Party singing "It's The Hard-Knock Life" and I laughed a lot because 1. Sadie Sink was Annie on Broadway and 2. The Party somehow did sing that song! It's one of the songs the cast sang when they were on Carpool Karaoke.

I love the book explained how Lucas knows "Running Up That Hill" is Max's favorite song, and the little moment they shared listening to it before breaking up. Also, Lucas concluding the song's lyrics match their current situation and seeing Max tear up made me tear up. "Running Up That Hill" is a Lumax anthem CONFIRMED:

There was a very sweet parallel between Max remembering the good times with her friends as she is fighting Vecna, and Lucas recalling how happy he was when he and Max were together:

Last but not least, I wonder if a few scenes were meant to foreshadow what happens to them at the end of the season. The first one was Lucas observing how much Max's eyes have changed, as if they have lost their brightness, an ironic thing to point out now that Max is (most probably) blind:

The second one was Lucas' determination to stand by Max's side until the very end which made me cry, given what happened to her (I never cry at anything but fucking Stranger Things, I swear...):

Anyways, I recommend you to read this book. It's a good companion to ST4 and sheds a different light on Lucas' state of mind during the first 4 episodes. It also provides a fascinating insight into his fears, desires, and wishes, as well as his ambitions.

Book recs!! ✨

Hi! So a bit ago, I met a lovely amazing anon on ao3 (who is a BLESSING compared to the other mean anons commenting out there, thanks Kat, you make mine and im pretty sure other author's days too). So we got into talking about books and I offered to make a list for her and post it on tumblr so other people too can scrounge through so here we are lmao.

I gathered this list from the personal notes I had made to myself to add these books to my bookshelf when i move out and also from another list i made for my little siblings because no way are they gonna not read the good stuff I found. It's like a rite of passage now.

Just a note: I don't read romance. But since books don't have the very convenient tags we get on ao3, I end up getting to romance-y parts. The only romance books I have read are middle school level romance lmao XD Nothing except kisses and stuff lol.

The Maze Runner series

Maze Runner

I love this book. This series. Ngl, one of the first books where I felt that heart-clenching feeling of hurt. Love the characters, the world-building was in the fandom for a brief while and I love the plot too. Better than the movie plot anyway XD

Mare Runner: Scorch Trials

Second book in the series, also very good. Literally an adventure. So many twists and turns. Once more, the characterization is also amazing!

Maze Runner: Death Cure

Third and last book in the series as a main. Heartbreaking. Did shed tears. Page 250 still kills me. O u ch.

The Fever Code

Also in the same series and OUCH. It's the characters before the whole drama happened and they're kids and higehrfwb 😭 No kidding I was squealing and nearly threw the book multiple times out of excitement. It solved a couple plotlines too. I adored it. Plus, it gave me some closure from the many many (inevitable) deaths.

Crank Palace

It's a novella, but clears the mysterious gap that was in the third book. Plus, it gives much much more closure but I'm still crying so do what you will with that information. I love the new "OC"s here too.

Trials of Apollo

The Hidden Oracle The Dark Prophecy The Burning Maze The Tyrant's Tomb The Tower of Nero

Listen- listen- I know this is kinda obvious and you might be asking "where's the rest of the pjo series?" but that's a given. My personal favorites are the pjo, hoo and toa series, but toa somehow spoke to me more because the main relationship wasn't a romantic one like all the other teen books I read. I also adore Apollo/Lester's character development? Like, at first he was this carefree god, then at the end of the series, he transformed into a person who cared so much and so deeply and was willing to die for others. That is peak character development and if I hadn't read toa, I would still be blundering around and confused with my multi-chap fics as to how characters actually develop. Because you can see that journey so clearly in toa.

Jinx series

Jinx: The Wizard's Apprentice Jinx's Magic Jinx's Fire

I love this series so much??? I am a sucker for fantasy novels and this was so so good. I love the storyline and-

AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE FOUND FAMILY ASPECT HERE. THIS. IS LITERALLY RELUCTANT MENTOR-FATHER AND HYPER AND KEEN MENTEE-SON. AHHH.

Anyway, this was my first found family novel. I loved the whole storyline too, this was also the series where I was first introduced to the concept of whump (without knowing what whump actually was).

The Mapmaker Chronicles

Race To The End Of The World Prisoner Of The Black Hawk Breath Of The Dragon

These were also some of the first whump books I read. And I especially loved this because the plot was it. A smartass scrawny boy who accidentally turned into a hero? Hmmm, I wonder who that reminds me of. (Tim Drake. It reminds of Tim Drake)

But the characters are also special to my heart. There is minimal romance in here. Any romance is to move the plot forward.

Also a mentor-mentee relationship here. Not so much found family to the heart seeing as the main character already has family back home, but the whole crew definitely is a family of their own. I especially adore Ash! Ahhh! She's lovely and amazing. Oh and Zain- *sighs* he is the perfect mentor figure to scrawny li'l Quinn. And the hateable characters are so perfectly hateable!! The author truly is talented at stories.

Although the second book could do with more whump

Nevermoor series

Nevermoor

This book was described in the reviews as "Harry Potter meets Alice in Wonderland" and it stayed true to its description. It had beautiful and amazing characters, and an evil-mentor & reluctant hero-mentee relationship (though not at first) and I am a sucker for that. Also, I just love the character herself. Morrigan is a very good and fleshed out character and I will love her forever.

Wundersmith

We explore more of the evil-mentor & reluctant hero-mentee relationship. But Jupiter, Morrigan's actual caretaker, is the PERFECT uncle/caretaker for her and he's so protective of her and i just-

*sobs* I stan.

Hollowpox

Here we discover some of that delicious power upgrades. I also love all the friends! HAWTHORNE IS MY FAVORITE AND WILL ALWAYS BE I LOVE HIM. Stunning characters here 💫 Also some wise comparison of the different isms and phobias (as in homophobia, racism etc.) here in terms of fantasy.

The Mysterious Benedict Society The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Perilous Journey The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Prisoner's Dilemma The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Riddle of Ages

This... was one of the first mystery books I had ever read (my actual first was Sherlock Holmes cuz I found it on my grandparents' bookshelf and read it cuz I had read every other book they owned which wasn't a lot). I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. It was calm and just- a bunch of kids going on a perilous journey to solve a mystery to save the city. Those kind of vibes. But the vibes were so good. So enjoyable. Every time I hear about this series, I just sigh in contempt.

There are very, very interesting characters here too. The characters are what made the story so good. All of them have unique quirks which they use to crack clues and form conclusions and dive into actions. Such good characters. 10/10, honestly.

The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict

This is part of the Benedict society universe, but it takes place years before the main events. It has adventures of the leader of the group in the main series as a kid. This book has a special mention because the storyline was different to the style of the main series and it had tropes. Just- the friend and the character itself and- dnfhbevbiluw

Okay, I admit, Benedict here does remind me of Tim (my fav character in DC). Like y'know smol Tim with the camera? Those kind of vibes. Very strong vibes. I read this way before I discovered Tim even existed so maybe this book plays a part in my favorites?

Jessica Brody books

The fact that I put the actual author's name here should tell you something.

Addie Bell's Shortcut To Growing Up

This book... brought me to tears. This was the second book that prompted salt water to slip out of my tear ducts. It was a strange feeling. Cuz I was not used to crying for books and movies and shows.

The plot just hit hard. A 12-year-old Addie magically time-travels to when she's 16 and experiences life as a teenager. The plot gives more than you expect. There are boys, yes, but that is a side plot, not a main plot. Which is why I love the book so much. Addie wants to be one of the "girly" girls who talks about boys and stuff and goes to parties like her older sister, but then as she lives the life of a teenager more and more, she realizes just how much she lost. Friendships, family, her personality, her interests, herself.

The part that made me cry was her missing her sister. Cuz, well, I'm an older sister. And my sister who is the oldest after me has the same age difference as Addie and her older sister. It wasn't just her missing her sister in that scene, it was everything crashing down on her that moved me to tears. Amazing book. If anything, I recommend you either read this or 'Better You Than Me' if nothing in this list goes towards your liking.

Better You Than Me

This was the first book that made me cry. It has two characters, one in middle school, the other who is an actress, swap bodies. So the typical middle school kid gets to live as a famous actress, and the famous actress gets to live as a typical middle school kid. Of course, neither of them end up liking their new life very much, but that only teaches them two important messages: appreciation and communication. God, I learnt so much from this book. I was like 13 or something when I read it and it resonated within me enough to make me cry. I adore this. SO much.

I Speak Boy

I actually have a library-borrowed copy with me right now XD It's about a middle school girl, Emmy, being very confused with the opposite gender. (Very much hetero, no homo despite it being published in 2021). But, once again, the reason I love this book isn't cuz of the romance (though it is kinda satisfactory but also a bit cliché). It's how the main character realizes that boys aren't everything. Just like in 'Addie Bell's Shortcut To Growing Up'. It's a lot about friendship.

The reason why I like these books by Jessica Brody (I haven't read the others yet) is because of the Bechdel Test factor in it.

S. K. Ali books

Again you have another author's name. This time, it's Muslim fiction!

Love From A To Z

The first Muslim fiction book I've ever read. And yes, it is a romance book. But it does not have any touchy-touchy stuff (except in the Epilogue and a couple dream scenes, very vague though and only kissing). As in, the main characters follow mainstream Sunni procedures and do not touch each other as they're not married. Which just leaves room for a ton of emotional romance.

I adore this simply because I'm a Muslim Hijabi myself and I am very much biased.

It deals with so many aspects of romance though, like personality first, lust last, and whether they are the right fit or not and whether they actually like each other or the idea of each other and how families play into this and online hate and emotion control and of course, the marvels and oddities of life. It is packed with so much. And when I finished the book, I had a good long cry. This is the first book that made me cry the longest. Because- because I was starved for representation! And this book did it so well! I just- love this so much.

The author has published a sequel, Love from Mecca to Medina, I have yet to read it because I'm waiting for it to be in a library. I prefer physical copy books.

Once Upon An Eid

Okay, this is very Muslim-based, but if you treat it like Muslim Christmas, everything becomes clear XD Also, Ali wrote only one story here. This book is actually a collection of stories by different Muslim authors. And each story is so special. Many people don't really know how Muslims celebrate Eid or why it's so special (besides spiritual reasons) and what it looks like. This paints an accurate picture. And it contains most, if not all, types of Muslims celebrating Eid. Sunni, Shia, refugee, African, American, revert/convert, South Asian etc. So really diverse.

Saints and Misfits Misfit In Love

Very much love-centred, but also has very vague mentions of sexual assault/rape/non-con. Yes, in a Muslim community. It exists. A lot actually. But it's hidden and hushed down. Disgustingly.

But the first book addresses it and how a Muslim girl battles it. She's in love with a white boy, yes, but she doesn't give in to her white boy desires. Neither does she fall to a non-white boy, at least not fully.

Which is why I recommend that if you're reading the first book, you definitely, definitely read the second one along with it. Because I felt even though the ending of the first book was satisfactory, it wasn't satisfactory to me. But the second book was! Because at the end of the second book, Janna (the main character), comes to the conclusion that boys aren't everything. And even though there is a very perfect boy that fancies her and she fancies him too, she takes a breath and says that she isn't too focused on that. And I adore that. But she only comes to that conclusion after falling in love with many, many, many boys. I did get a bit uncomfy cuz romance just in general makes me uncomfy, its a personal thing, but I kept reading it cuz... Muslim fiction! Anyway, good book series. But I like Love From A To Z better.

Now, those are... a lot of books. And a lot of me talking. And there are still so many more. So I'm just gonna go through some quick filtering and put the titles and authors of the other books here in dot points.

Watched Royal Rumble 2023. My highlights (will be brief because I need to rant about that main event):

1. Not sure if it was smart play by WWE putting the men’s match first, because we forgot ALL about the winner by the end of the night.

2. Kofi botches his Rumble save for the second straight year. Yeah, it’s done. Time to end that ish for good now.

3. The minute Lesnar came out I said Lashley is coming for his ass. Glad I was proven right.

4. Rey not making it to the ring but Ex Con Dom comes out right after and has his mask. Does this make Rey Mysterio the rightful winner?

5. A Rumble spot wasted on Booker T when Mustafa Ali was right there, smh

6. Not Montez being thrown out in front of his in-laws 😭

7. I kinda wish Cody’s return had been a surprise.

8. Yoooo that spot with Logan Paul and Ricochet was something out of Dragonball Z! And I don't even watch Dragonball Z.

9. GUNTHER and Cody had a whole match within a match and it was great. Gunther is that guy. The IC champ looked like the fucking boss. So so good.

10. Very good men’s match. Wasn’t too extravagant and it worked.

11. The Pitch Black match looked like a rave I once attended when I was in England, lol.

12. Bray Wyatt is for the aesthetics and theatrical more than the actual wrestling, always has been. I don’t understand how fans were expecting a 5-star match.

13. Didn’t bother watching the Raw women’s title match. Bianca deserves better and I don’t care for Alexa Bliss being thrown back into that lame witchy storyline.

14. The women’s match wasn’t as good as the men’s, for me. It only picked up when it was down to the final three.

15. Damage CTRL looked kind of strong for once, knocking everybody out.

16. Michelle McCool with THAT body and wrestling in Uggs? 🔥

17. Yes yes yes to AsuKana, her dark outfit and the murder clown face paint. Triple H needs to run back her days of destruction at NXT.

18. Thank you WWE for changing that STUPID dew drop name back to Piper Niven.

19. Nia Jax?!?! 🙄🙄🙄 Errr, no. On top of that, her music started playing before the countdown even came on. Hot tears.

20. I don’t think Naomi will ever come back either and that makes me sad. 😢

21. The right woman won. Bianca vs Rhea at Mania will be epic, and Rhea will win.

22. The woman at No. 1 won and the man at No. 30 won. Very interesting.

23. Samantha Irvin was on her A-game with the main event intros. 🤌🏾

24. Standard good match, Roman the king of 2.9999 kick outs as usual.

25. I wondered why the match went so short. I regretted it soon enough 😭

26. Roman throwing KO by the back of his head on the jagged part of the steps TWICE! 😬😬😬😬

27. Sami cringing the whole time, and things would only get worse for him after the match ended. 🥺

28. The Bloodline brutalized KO. Steel chair and super kicks and handcuffs. Sami couldn’t take anymore and tried to beg off and ended up getting pie-faced over and over. It was then that I realized what was coming…

29. And yet, my jaw still DROPPED when Sami hit Roman with that chair! 😱 Unbelievable!

30. LOL at Roman actually looking back, wondering whether it’s 2014 all over again.

31. Jimmy though. Jimmy. Attacked Sami first. Didn’t hesitate for a second. After all the handshakes. “My dawg”. The Honorary Uce name. Smiling at Sami the whole time. He was the one who brought Sami into the group in the first place, back when Jey wanted him out.

32. And the look on his face as he attacked. Manic. Rabid. Unhinged. His viciousness stunned me initially, but then I remember what he told Roman all those weeks ago:

“Sami’s my dawg. I like Sami. But I love my family. I love the Bloodline. I love you.”

33. Solo. The hired gun, sent by the elders to do Roman’s bidding. Forgetting that he also used Sami to gaslight Jey numerous times before Roman brainwashed him.

34. Roman crying as he and the rest of the Bloodline decimated Sami pissed me off, lol. “I gave you the world! You broke my family!” What?!The audacity!

35. Jey walking away in tears legitimately made me cry. You could see 2020 flashing before his eyes; the way Roman treated Sami was the exact same way he did Jey and he has never forgotten it.

36. And now on his IG, Jey has declared war! 😳

37. LISTEN TO THIS FROM THE FANS! And watch Roman’s reaction. Dropping the petals one by one over Sami and Kevin’s grave! 😭

38. All this time, we’ve had cool heel Roman. Now we have evil heel Roman. Finally.

I have no idea where this storyline is going, but I am on their edge of my seat and will gobble it all up.

MVP - The entire Bloodline and Kevin. No debate. These boys need to go to Hollywood asap.

The first El WooWoo of the year! And as the banner says, I’m still reading instead of writing. So here we go. Buckle up, Klainers and ... Snovians (???? is there a name for Snowbaz shippers? This is just Simon. Snowbazzians?) (What would you call Baz fans? Bazzies?).

I am really enjoying these fic rec posts, more than I thought. It also motivates me to read more, which is a win-win. I do have some ideas for Ljubim te again, so I think I’ll start writing them soon. But maybe I will make a separate post for fics, aside from Wip Wednesday and Six Sentence Sunday? Fic Rec Friday?

ANYWAY, buckle up, it’s a long post, so the entire rec + tags will be under cut today!

Some non-fic recs first. Some? One, actually. I am rereading my Kickstarter books for Check, Please! in preparation for the delivery of the Year 4 Kickstarter. I... uh... asked the shipping costs for that campaign as a Christmas gift. But God yeah, I love this webcomic so much. Time to get back to the SMH (Samwell Meme’s Hockey Team).

@martsonmars wrote a fic about “consensual biting” between 6 years old: Love Bite. It’s adorable. I love how silly kids can be. And I am a bitch for fics where Lucy lives 😭!

I am catching up on The Rise and Fall of Simon Snow by @confused-bi-queer. I last read chapter 5, and [Jason Mendoza voice] oh Simon and Baz, we’re really in it now. I am upsetti spaghetti.

I am still riding the angst train right into Is It Over Yet? by @jayne89. God I really wish Carmen was actually this good, instead of a plot device for Rachel’s.... uhm... questionable storylines. Really excited for more of this verse.

God, I am really going through it, huh? @thnxforknowingme wrote a 2022 fic in review where she mentioned True Colors, a character study of Quinn between season 2 and 3, and I like the premise. I really enjoyed it. Damn, skank!Quinn had so much potential, but RIB just had to do the wack baby storyline.

This isn’t Jenna’s only fic that I have read. I finally, finally read Miles To Go, and I know a fic this wonderful should have a long and coherent comment, but I am just speechless. So utterly speechless. I started it when it was originally posted, but I had just lost my grandmother and yeah it was the wrong time. Now, we got the message that it’s time for my uncle to collect her ashes. Weird way to go back to a fic, but that’s what happened, and this fic tugged at my heartstrings. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Also, more Jenna stuff, but insert the Chris Fleming meme here. Was no one ever going to tell me that Jenna has written Hades fic, or was I just supposed to find out by browsing through her AO3 by myself? Aíma.... YOOOO. The relation between Zaggie and blood? Jenna, your mind!

More sad shit? More sad shit! @wellbelesbian really made me say FUCK THE MAGE with the latest chapter of blow on the tinder. Guys, this is such a good fic. Alex, I am so glad you’re continuing it!

Okay, okay, whooo, time out with the angst. @redheadgleek‘s Pierce My Soul is a fluffy gem and I am a bitch for costume crew!Kurt. Although he got promoted here and he designed the costumes, including Blaine’s. There are so many great gems in this fic, but I lost it at Brad Ellis being the piano man. And when the fic mirrored dialogue from the show.... my heart!

I definitely boarded the fluff train now. I saw @letraspal‘s art for @skeedelvee‘s Drunken Kisses. I am all 🥺🥺🥺🥺 about this fic. Simon “He Is Plotting” Snow is amazing. Mix it with Baz “Gay Yearning” Pitch and voila!

@facewithoutheart delves into Simon’s sad childhood, but in a fluffy way, in What I Wouldn’t Give. Simon gets his first plushie and we all cry. I am such a bitch for this concept and Christina helpfully linked to another one, namely to @lifewithoutmotivation‘s Flamey. I am just overwhelmed on Simon’s behalf! This guy deserves all the gifts and birthday parties! (Also, congrats on the new URL!)

And we’re going to end this rec post with more holiday cheers from the holiday queers (really, did anyone watch The New Normal?) with @1908jmd‘s Klaine Advent 2022 - With their favourite people. Jen did a true drabble challenge and all the snippets are about the people in Kurt and Blaine’s lives and look I just got very emo over it.

Your tags! I need a Tom amnesia storyline more than anything now

PLEASE I already have 5 WIPs going, I can't start a sixth 😭😭❤️

That being said this concept also has not left me alone. So I have in fact added it to the list of fics I'd like to eventually write, but since who knows whether or not I'll ever get to it...

So the thing is I actually had a friend in high school whose parents owned horses, and she had a horrible accident where she was trying to help break in an unruly young horse, and it threw her off and kicked her in the head. She suffered about 6 months of amnesia, which meant she woke up in the hospital and did not remember, among other things, that her boyfriend had broken up with her, so she started asking after him. Unfortunately the brain trauma meant her short-term memories weren't encoding properly, so someone would have to explain to her every day that she and her boyfriend had broken up, at which point she would be devastated and cry.... And then forget by the next day and ask for him and have to go through the whole process again. Eventually her short-term memories did start encoding again, but she never got back those 6 months.

I like the idea of Tom getting a head injury (car accident, maybe?) after Lion in the Meadow, and then forgetting everything going back to a couple days before Logan's birthday, so here you go:

He comes to slowly. He can hear the beeping of what sounds like a heart monitor. His head feels fuzzy and... heavy? He feels like he may be on drugs.

"Tom? Tom?" He doesn't recognize the voice coming from his left. He forces his eyes open and blinks twice. Squints. He doesn't recognize the face either.

The face clearly recognizes him, though, and grins stupidly at him. "You're awake! God, Tom, I- I was worried about you, man. When Shiv called me she made it sound like it was, uh. Pretty bad." He's leaning over Tom, with an overly earnest look on his face. He's got big round eyes like a baby deer. He seems to be telling the truth, although Tom for the life of him can't figure out who he is and why he'd be so concerned. However, the face apparently knows Shiv, so that's a place to start, maybe.

"Where is Shiv?"

The face blinks at him. "Oh. Uh. She was here, for a while, but she had to go. A work thing."

"Oh." That makes sense. There's only a couple weeks left until midterms, so something must've happened with Joyce's campaign. Tom tries not to feel disappointed.

"How do you know Shiv?"

The face blinks at him again. "What?"

"What do you mean, 'what'? It's a pretty straightforward question, isn't it?"

There's a long pause. "Dude, are you seriously razzing me right now? Because that isn't funny."

"What? No. I'm not 'razzing' you. I feel like 'how do you know my girlfriend' is a perfectly valid question."

When Tom says 'girlfriend', a look of concern washes over the face.

"Your what?"

"My girlfriend," Tom says slowly, over-enunciating the word like he's speaking to a toddler. "Are you stupid? Maybe you should be the one hooked up to a monitor."

The face gets more concerned, and then the guy stands up - he's absurdly tall, Tom realizes - and says, with just an edge of panic to his voice: "Hey, I'm gonna be right back, okay, Tom? I'm just gonna- I'm just gonna go get somebody."

Tom watches him go bemusedly, smoothing down his covers absentmindedly. He wonders what they're made out of - they're coarser than he's used to - and glances down.

There's a wedding ring on his left hand.

His chest tightens. He screws his eyes shut and then opens them. It's still there. He takes his right hand and slides it off his finger to check if it's real. It sure as hell feels real.

He puts it back on his finger and quietly starts to panic.

It's only a couple more minutes until a woman in a white coat - a doctor presumably - comes into the room, followed by the guy from before. He doesn't sit back down by the bed; instead, he hovers awkwardly by the door to the room. The doctor crosses to the foot of the bed and picks up the chart.

"How are you feeling, Mr. Wambsgans?"

"Uh, fine. A little fuzzy. What happened?"

"You were in a car wreck. You're actually quite lucky you weren't more seriously injured, but you did take quite a blow to the head."

"Huh. Okay. How long have I been out for."

The doctor hums quietly. "Only a couple of days."

"Oh."

"I'm going to ask you a couple of questions, just to see where your head's at." She flashes a smile at him that doesn't make Tom feel any better. "What's today's date?"

Tom's mouth is dry. "Uh, well if I was out for a couple of days, it's- It's probably, what, November 4 or 5?" He glances at the guy by the door as he says it, and watches his eyes go wide as saucers. That's not good.

The doctor hums again and taps her pen on the chart. "What year?"

"2017. It's 2017, right?"

The guy by the door sucks in a breath, which makes the doctor turn and look at him. "Mr. Hirsch, would you mind giving us a few moments?"

"Right. Of course. Sorry." He slips out of the room and shuts the door, but Tom can see him hovering in the hallway through the glass window.

The doctor comes and sits down by the bed. "Okay, Mr. Wambsgans. You do appear to be experiencing some memory loss. That's not altogether uncommon for injuries of this nature, so I wouldn't get too worried yet."

"Okay. How much time have I lost?"

"Well, today's date is June 8, 2018."

Tom feels like he's going to throw up. "Eight months? I've lost eight fucking months?"

"Like I said, I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. It's very possible that it'll come back once your brain has some time to heal."

She continues talking, asking other questions about specific symptoms, talking about recovery timelines, but Tom's only half-listening. His mind is racing - apparently, he got married in the last eight months. To Shiv, presumably. That makes sense - it's somewhat of a relief, actually, because the last thing he remembers is carrying around the ring for weeks, waiting for the right moment to ask for Logan's blessing, and quietly panicking and backing out of every opportunity. Presumably he'd eventually found the guts to do it, and it'd gone well.

He realizes the doctor is getting up to leave. "Hey, can you send that guy back in here?"

"Of course," she says, and he watches her step out and say something to the guy, who nods and comes back in. He stays hovering by the door, though, which Tom finds supremely irritating for reasons he doesn't fully understand.

"Come over here and sit down," he snaps, a little harsher than he intended, and the guy does. Tom takes a second to collect his thoughts.

"Okay. First things first. How do you know Shiv?"

"She's my cousin."

"Huh." Shiv had mentioned her Canadian cousin offhand to him, once or twice. He tries to search his memory for a name. "... Craig?"

"It's, uh. It's Greg, actually,"

"Right. Greg." Tom holds his hand out for Greg to shake. "Tom Wambsgans."

"Yeah, dude, I know," Greg says, but he shakes Tom's hand anyways.

"Huh. Okay. So why are you here right now?" It's understandable that Shiv might've sent an emissary, of sorts, if she couldn't be here, but picking her cousin rather than any one of her brothers seems... odd. He notices that Greg hesitates for a second before answering.

"We're, uh... We're close."

"Really?" Tom is skeptical.

"Yeah. We're like... We're friends. You're kind of my best friend, actually." He looks nervous as he says it, and Tom is a little suspicious that this guy might be trying to grift him somehow, although he can't figure out how or why.

"We're best friends?"

Greg shrugs. "Yeah. We met at Logan's birthday party."

"Oh." That's... plausible. "And we became best friends?"

"Well, you're also my boss. I'm your executive assistant."

"I have an executive assistant?" That's new. That's also encouraging. That means, almost definitely, that he got a sizeable promotion.

"Yeah. You're the chairman of ATN."

"What?" That bowls him over. "You're fucking with me."

"Nope." Greg looks a little chagrined. "Wish I was."

Tom processes this for a second. Then, he holds up his left hand. "And I'm married? To Shiv?"

"Yeah. You guys got married a few months ago. March 10."

"Oh." He hums softly to himself and looks down at the ring. Now that he's had a bit more time to process it, it makes him feel warm and happy. Secure. "Was it a nice wedding?"

"Oh, yeah, it was like. At a castle in England. Shiv's mom's castle I think? Or, not her mom's castle but- in her mom's family. I forget exactly how." He pauses for a second. "Kendall did start a takeover bid, but other than that it was nice."

"He started a what?"

"Yeah, it was like... a whole thing. Still is, kind of. But- I mean that's a lot, and we can talk about it when you're feeling better."

"Sure."

They fall into silence. Greg's face looks pinched, and Tom feels kind of bad for him. He still suspicious of all this 'friend' stuff - this is not a world in which a person really has 'friends' - but he's becoming less convinced that this guy is trying to grift him.

"I mean, with any luck my memory will came back soon, and you won't have to tell me."

"Right. Of course."

His memory never does come back.

It's inordinately frustrating, sitting through therapy session after therapy session, trying and failing to summon any memories at all. After the umpteenth MRI scan, when the doctors tell him that it's unlikely they'll ever come back, he's almost relieved because it means he can stop trying.

It also means they let him go home - which is apparently an entirely different home than the one he remembers. It's a gorgeous apartment, incredibly spacious, so he feels guilty for his disappointment. It's just unsettling, stepping back into a life he doesn't remember, that doesn't quite feel like his own, like he's stepping into the skin of someone who's a lot like him but isn't actually him.

Once he gets home, he doesn't want to wait too long to get back into the office, but he does take a couple of days to get settled. On the second day, while Shiv is at work (which is now apparently Waystar, and his boss - when he'd asked about the plan, she'd hesitated, and then said that they'd made some modifications to the plan, and he'd just nodded and tried to take it in stride) he opens his phone and reads back through the last eight months of text messages, trying to piece together what he can't remember.

He starts with Greg, if only because the guy seems to be pretty attached to him, and he really needs to know if they're actually friends or if there's something else going on. He scrolls back through months of texts - quite a lot of texts, actually. Near-constant texts. They text almost every day, sometimes about work, sometimes about nothing at all. Apparently, they've been going out in the evenings fairly frequently too. It really gives merit to that friend theory, and Tom has to pause to process that. He hasn't actually had a friend in... a long time. It makes him feel a little bit choked up. It's a nice feeling, to know that he has a friend, even if the guy vaguely reminds him of an inflatable tube man.

He is also, apparently, kind of an asshole to Greg. That part doesn't really surprise him, beyond a faint sort of surprise that Greg's been agreeing to hang out with him anyways. Maybe Greg is just a masochist.

There are so many texts that he doesn't bother scrolling more than a couple of months back before he switches over to Shiv. His texts with Shiv are less frequent, and the recent ones are... stilted, although he can't quite put a finger on what's wrong with them. A couple of months back, he comes to one that makes him pause.

Hey, I'm going to be staying out tonight.

Okay

The arrangement?

Yeah. That okay?

Yeah, of course.

Be safe.

Of course.

I love you.

I love you too.

He frowns at it. There's a vague sense of foreboding that he can't quite place. He scrolls back further, finding a few more references to "the arrangement", never with any additional context.

He asks about it when they're sitting on the couch together later that evening, and Shiv's entire body stiffens immediately. She puts her drink down on the coffee table in front of them, and turns to him, ever so slowly. She hesitates for a moment that seems to stretch on forever, and Tom's anxiety starts to build. Finally, she says, without quite looking him in the eye, "We... have an open marriage."

Tom feels like someone has punched him in the solar plexus. "We... have an open marriage?" He knows he didn't hear it wrong, but he's hoping that she'll say he did. Instead, she just nods.

"Oh." He looks down at the drink in his own hands. He has questions - a million of them - but he can't figure out what to ask first, and he's also afraid of what the answers will be.

"I mean, it's really- It's not, like, a thing." Shiv says quickly, placing her hand on his shoulder. "It's like - you're the king and I'm the queen, so what does it matter if we fuck the odd peasant? That's what you said." She laughs a bit.

"Oh, so this- this was my idea?" He can't imagine a world in which he ever would have wanted this.

Shiv bites her lip. "Well- no. It was mine. But we- we agreed about it."

"Uh-huh." There's something else here that he can't quite place. He doesn't think Shiv is lying to him, but there's a missing puzzle piece he can't figure out. Before he can figure out what to ask, though, she leans over and kisses him, deeply, and then starts unbuttoning his shirt - and it's been so long (at least since the last time he can remember) that he doesn't have it in him to stop her.

It's 9:30 in the morning, on his first day back in the office, and Tom is lying on his office floor behind his desk in a state of utter despair.

He'd blocked off the whole first day back, with the expectation that Greg - who should be here any minute - would help him get up to speed, so he'd been genuinely unprepared to find Gerri Kellman already in his office when he'd arrived at 8:30am.

It had only gotten worse from there.

He hears a knock at his office door, and (praying that it's Greg and not somebody else) he calls out "Come in!"

"Tom?" It is Greg.

"I'm over here. Behind the desk." He doesn't bother getting up, just listens to Greg's footsteps come around until Greg is standing over him, looking concerned.

"Tom? Are you okay? Should I- do you want me to call someone?"

"No, Greg, I'm not okay. No, you should absolutely not call anyone."

"Okay." Greg looks at him wide-eyed with those stupid fucking doe eyes.

"Did you know that I'm going to prison, Greg?"

Greg's face changes. He looks... guilty, maybe? "They told you about that already?"

"So you did know."

"...Yeah. I mean, I... I wasn't sure what the plan was, anymore, what with you and your... head."

Tom sighs. He wants to be mad at Greg for not giving him a fucking heads up, especially if they're supposed to be friends - but then again Shiv didn't either, and he's not sure how she would react if he confronts her now; plus, he's still feeling raw from the discovery that apparently she's been fucking other people with his blessing, and he doesn't want to poke at that wound. Greg, on the other hand, at least has the decency to pretend to be concerned, and they're supposed to be friends. And fuck does he need a friend right now.

Tom heaves himself upright, sitting under his desk. He points to the bar cart. "Grab that whiskey and two glasses, and then join me on the floor, Greg." He pats the space under the desk next to him.

Greg does as he's told, albeit a little bemusedly, squeezing in on Tom's right side under the desk. Since they're both over six feet tall, it's a tight fit; they're both kind of slouched, shoulders and legs pressed right up next to each other. Tom's not sure why he did this - literally hiding under his fucking desk - but it feels kind of safe and secluded. The blinds over the windows are pulled down, so it's not like anyone will see them under here. He pours a sizeable glass of whiskey for each of them.

"That's- it's, uh. It's 9:30 in the morning," Greg protests weakly, but Tom gives him a look and he takes a reluctant drink.

They sit like that in silence for a couple of minutes, and then Greg quietly says: "If it makes you feel any better. I'm probably going to prison too."

Tom arches an eyebrow at him. "Oh?"

"How much did they tell you?" Greg asks.

"Most of it, I think. They played the video of me in Congress." Truly a horrific experience to watch. Tom thought he'd known what the depths of self-loathing felt like, but he'd discovered brand new levels as he watched himself stumble over even the simplest questions.

"'You can't make a tomlette without breaking some greggs'," Greg quotes, almost to himself, and Tom laughs a bit.

"Yeah, I guess we really are friends. And apparently also partners in crime." He looks Greg up and down. "Really wouldn't have thought it of you, to be honest."

"Me either." Greg hesitates. "It, uh... It wasn't that fun actually. 0/10, don't recommend."

Tom snorts. "Where were you eight months ago."

"Sitting in your office while you threw me into the 'death pit', actually," Greg says, making air quotes around 'death pit'.

"Sorry." Tom does actually feel bad, even though he doesn't remember it. It feels kind of shitty, knowing that he pulled this kid into this and then fucked it up so royally.

It makes him wonder... what else he might've fucked up. He takes a long drink, and then asks, "Am I a good boss?"

Greg side-eyes him for a very long time, saying nothing.

"Well?"

Greg looks at his drink, and takes a deep breath. "Um. Well. You know."

"Yeah, that's not very promising."

"I mean. You got me mixed up in a criminal conspiracy. Also once I tried to transfer departments and you pelted me with water bottles."

"I what?" That seems beyond the pale.

"Yeah. There's a video, actually. Someone else took it."

Shit, so it was public. "Yeah, not sure I want to watch any more videos of myself right now."

"Sure.”

There’s another long silence, but it’s… companionable. He’s staring down the barrel of a loaded gun with this prison thing, but he trusts Greg, inexplicably, if only because he’s put the guy through the wringer and yet he still seems to genuinely care about Tom.

Another thought pops into his head - a possible missing puzzle piece in whatever is going on with Greg.

“Hey, did we ever… You know?”

“What?” Greg’s brow furrows in confusion.

“Like….” Tom really hopes he’s reading this right, because it has the possibility to go colossally sideways if he isn’t. Still. He trusts Greg, he thinks. “Like, do we ever… mess around?”

Greg’s entire body goes stiff. Shit. Fuck. “No- no we haven’t- like we’ve never- you’re married to my cousin.”

“Yeah, but it’s an open marriage so- you know- I just thought maybe- yeah, never mind.” There’s panic racing through Tom, and he tries to hide it as he gauges Greg’s reaction.

Greg looks a little surprised. “Oh. I, um- I didn’t know about the open marriage. It kind of explains a lot.”

He doesn’t say anything else, but he doesn’t make any move to get up or leave either, and slowly Tom’s heart rate comes down.

“I didn’t- I didn’t actually know you, um. That you were into guys,” Greg says softly.

“If you tell anyone-“ Tom’s starts threateningly. He’s not stupid, he knows the workplace culture here - but Greg is shaking his head.

“No, dude, of course not. I wouldn’t- I get it.” Greg hesitates, his fingers toying with the edge of his glass. “I, like- I’m into guys, too.” His cheeks are a bit red, and he doesn’t meet Tom’s gaze.

“Oh.” Tom processes this for a moment. “… Did I know that?”

“No. I don’t think so, anyways.” Greg pauses. “I mean, you did - a couple of weeks ago you did tell me that you’d castrate and marry me in a heartbeat. But I kind of figured that was a prison breakdown thing.”

“I said- for fuck’s sake. I really am an asshole, aren’t I.”

“I mean.. yeah, but I think that whole thing was part of a whole other thing about- Nero and Sporus? Do you…?” Greg trails off looking at Tom expectantly, but Tom shakes his head. Nero and Sporus. He’s going to have to google that later.

Tom takes a second to process. Suddenly, he becomes keenly aware of Greg pressed up against him. He hasn’t moved since they started this conversation.

He turns it over and over in his head. He’s got an open marriage that Shiv asked for. He’s got this friend - inexplicably - who he is apparently just friends with, despite the constant texts and the emails (which Tom started reading on his way in this morning), but who he would apparently castrate and marry in a heartbeat… platonically? Who is sitting here with him under his desk even though Tom has been an utter dickwad to him for about eight months.

And who he trusts. It’s not just the texts and the emails and the cruises debacle - there’s something deeper, like a sense memory, which tells him he can trust Greg. Trust is not something he feels easily. Maybe he’s just feeling overwhelmed, and Greg is an easy anchor - but he thinks that maybe. Maybe it’s more than that.

Slowly - infinitesimally slowly - and without looking at Greg, he reaches over and places his right hand on Greg’s left knee.

Greg doesn’t move for a long moment, and Tom is about to snatch his hand back and apologize when suddenly he feels a warm pressure on his hand. He flicks his eyes over and sees Greg’s hand overtop of his. Tom lets go of Greg’s knee and curls his fingers around Greg’s hand, so that they’re sitting there holding hands. Under his desk, Tom thinks, suddenly aware of the absurdity.

He feels Greg shift, and he can feel Greg’s eyes on him. He takes a second to gather his courage, then he turns so that his eyes meet Greg’s.

There’s a split-second where they stare at each other, anticipation hanging in the air between them, and then Tom lets go of Greg’s hand and - before he can chicken out - reaches up to take Greg’s hand and pull it down towards him, hoping that this isn’t going to turn out to be the stupidest thing he’s ever done. His worries vanish almost immediately, though, when Greg crashes into him with an almost puppyish enthusiasm, and then the next thing Tom knows Greg is straddling his lap, his drink forgotten, one hand braced by Tom’s head under the desk and the other travelling up and down his side until it lands on his waist. The kiss is messy and passionate; Tom slides one hand around to the back of Greg’s head and one arm around his midriff, holding him there, and it feels so comfortable and familiar - it feels like home.

Eventually, Greg pulls back for air, and Tom can’t help but laugh at him, albeit fondly; Greg’s face breaks into a stupid goofy grin.

“Are you sure we haven’t done this before?” Tom asks.

“I think I’d probably remember that,” Greg answers, and Tom chuckles to himself.

He doesn’t want to leave it there, but they are under his desk still, and it’s - he checks his watch - 10am, and there’s a lot to do today. Plus - he doesn’t really know this Greg guy, not yet, and he’s always considered himself a gentleman, so it feels wrong to do anything else before they’ve even gone on a date.

“I think we need to get to work,” Tom says, and Greg’s face drops just a little, but he pulls himself to his feet. “Hey- help me up,” Tom adds, snapping his fingers, and Greg grabs his hands and pulls him to his feet.

“Okay. I need you to run me through everything we’re working on, which will probably take all day. And then,” he pauses significantly to throw Greg a glance, “I’m taking you out tonight.” Greg’s whole face lights up immediately at that.

“Okie dokie,” he says, rubbing his hands together, and then he walks over to Tom’s filing cabinet and pulls it open. “Where do you want to start?”

it’s post outbreak right, and he meets you in jackson and you’re a lot younger, maybe like mid/late 20s and have a little more lightness left in you then he does (just think grumpy x sunshine) and so you’re always in a good mood and smiling at people, and let’s just say you have a fat crush on him (and he knows because you get all blushy and nervous around him) and this man doesn’t know how to do feelings well so he just kinda ignores it despite the feelings being mutual. but the MINUTE you seem sad or distraught this man needs to fix it and/or find out what or who caused it so he can beat the living daylights out of who made you cry bc he loves you and your light much more than he’ll ever let on and he refuses to let it dim.

Sasuke was consumed with hatred because his family was killed. His entire family, not a single person left alive except him and their killer. Instead Sasuke finds a little baby Uchiha on a meaningless mission and leaves Konoha for a vastly different reason.

The plot is really interesting, very different than what you usually read. onepieceofharry is always so creative with their fics tho, so no surprises here. All in all great fic, can't wait to see where it goes.

btw since it's not an sns fic i didn't include it in the list but if you end up enjoying this, you have to read a theory of justice by the same author cause it's insanely good.

The Sasuke we know stuck in the modern world and ModernAu Sasuke is stuck in Konoha. Really funny and incredibly clever. I love this one a lot. No angst whatsoever (i mean there is drama but it's nothing compared to some of the fics in this list). I really hope you'll give this one a go cause, man, I had(still have) a blast reading this.

Stone Ocean Final Thoughts

Going into Stone Ocean I knew it took place in prison and I was worried the setting would begin to feel dull and claustrophobic to the storyline. I was pleasantly surprised that it never happened. At least, upon this first watch I was engaged the entire time. And Jolyne was a big part of that.

After Giorno being such a lackluster JoJo for me Jolyne was such a breath of fresh air. She had the best combination of the previous JoJos particularly the first 3. She had Jonathan’s kind heart, Joseph’s wit, and her father’s determination and will. Her fighting style combined all of those elements and made her so compelling to watch. She couldn’t just punch her way out of things. She had to be creative and rely on her brain to come up with solutions. Several times I wondered how she was going to get out of a situation (the memory plane crash, Pucci turning her heart inside out) and she always pulled it off in some way I wasn’t expecting.

I loved all the new characters. Ermes, FF, Anasui, Weather Report, Emporio! What a great cast of new personalities. I could watch a show that was just all of those characters and Jolyne in a slice of life, domestic setting. It’s what they all deserve and I guess, that’s what they got in the end. Which just makes me even more emotional. The fact their bonds were so strong that they found each other even in the next universe. (Except FF which that was a travesty! And I know she told Jolyne it’s okay because it wouldn’t really be her but still.)

Now I have to talk about him because he is the love of my life: JOTARO KUJO. I’m thankful I had seen parts of Stone Ocean when my siblings first watched it. I was aware Jotaro wasn’t in SO a lot and that kept me from hoping he’d show up at any moment. Despite him not being in a majority of the episodes, he was such a strong presence and motivating factor for Jolyne. It reminded me of how Jotaro went to Egypt to stop Dio and save his own mother. It was refreshing to see it reversed with Jotaro as the damsel in distress and Jolyne trying to save him. When Jotaro finally did show up…WOAH! What an entrance. The way the time stop came out of no where and then we hear Jotaro’s theme! It was a triumphant moment and well deserved. I loved how he held Jolyne in her arms and she looked up at him and said “old man”. Then there was the beautiful parallel when Jotaro saved Jolyne from the knives. He proved to her in that moment that she was always his priority. Then him getting slashed by Pucci and saying her name….done. 😭 Not only was I crying because Anasui and Ermes were taken out, but to see Jotaro like that. My heart….

Which leads me to the over all ending. It intially felt so bleak and hopeless. Seeing everyone get taken out by Pucci was awful. Then Jolyne and Emporio fleeing as time went faster just added to the sense of catastrophe. Jolyne sacrificing herself so Emporio could escape was heart wrenching and I cried. But then the reveal that Emporio had Weather’s disc was such a unexpected turn to me and revitalized the whole seen with hope. I like how Weather entrusted his disc to Jolyne who entrusted it to Emporio. It was having faith in each other that saved them all.

And I did not stop crying from the moment Emporio in the reset universe saw Ermes get off the bus. And then Anasui showed up with Jolyne Irene. Seeing Irene and Emporio interact was just 😭 when she took off her sweater for him and asked his name! Just ugly sobbing.

But oh no! Then the credits go through all SIX PARTS. I was left grabbing tissues and I looked at my sister and said, “why did you make me watch this?!” just because it got me so emotional.

So, safe to say I love JoJo. And I’ll be waiting with everyone else for Steel Ball Run to be animated. Until then I’m reading Phantom Blood part 1.

Hi! I just finished Daisy Jones and the Six and was wondering what your thoughts were on the show since I know that you were watching it too. As a book reader I thought they did a fairly good job. My main critique was that I didn't like how they changed Daisy and Billy's goodbye in Chicago since I felt they made it more about Camila and less about Daisy and Billy themselves.

Yes, I read the book as well and it's one of my favorites. The audiobook is just like the best thing ever, I swear! It's a whole new experience!

As for the show. I loved this adaption! I have no complaints at all. Everything from the cast to the music was just top notch! Most of the changes they made worked out well in my opinion like giving Simone more of a storyline and that whole thing between Eddie and Camilla 👀

I figured it would be something this dramatic cause its a tv show but like Daisy saying this is a love song before Honeycomb starts to play 😭😭 that's how it was originally written, a love song for Camilla 🥺 and Daisy reminded Billy of that (I'm Team Daisy and Team Camilla, I said it before that DJATS made me realize you can have more than one great love and it even inspired one of my storylines)

The crowd singing their song, and Daisy telling Billy to go had me bawling my eyes out! She told him to go find his light, and we got to agree that was Camilla. Him and Daisy, it wasn't their time...yet 😭😭 and now I want to cry just thinking about it again!

That entire scene of the band on stage playing their final song ever gave me chills. I can't believe my favorite fictional band broke up just last week 😥 and I'm still depressed about it ☹

Okay, I've got spoiler-free thoughts on Violet and I need to put them out in the universe:

- I really love almost everything about this game so far (I'm just past the halfway points in the storylines)

- But oh my goooood, game companies are all awful. A game should never be released with fucked up graphics. It genuinely wrecks first impressions and is the kind of basic, fundamental thing that would have been fixed before launch 15 years ago but now companies are just fine to push out unpolished games cause they know they can patch them which SUCKS for the people who are excited enough about the game to buy it for release day. So fuck that.

- On a better note, I cannot believe that there is a storyline in a Pokemon game that made me almost cry on an airplane. I am very emotional over it.

- There are so many wonderful pokemon in this!!! I love that there is such a wide variety of birds cause it fits the world so well. So many of my favourite pokemon from other gens are here and I am so happy! And there are so many dogs!!!

- I genuinely have 0 clue how I am supposed to only pick 6 pokemon at a time. This is deeply unfair. I love waaaay too many pokemon.

- I loooooove that the pokemon spawn in little packs. It is such a good immersive thing that makes it feel more like a real world with families/herds/packs of animals.

- The gym buildings are ugly and not distinctive enough to find easily without zooming in on my map. It annoys me.

- I cannot believe we finally got character customization from the very beginning! And my kid has freckles!! It is so great.

- The size of the world is really wonderful. And it is way better than Arceus in terms of the areas all being actually connected and flowing instead of disconnected regions.

- I think Scarlet/Violet keeps almost all of the best gameplay features from Sword/Shield and Arceus. It's good.

- But why the fuck can I not walk into people's houses anymore as a random child and make them give me items?? It was bad enough that we can't rummage in trash cans, now we can't barge into every home either 😭

- I don't think any restaurants should be rabbit holes that my character disappears into and I only get a menu. Pokemon has never been a rabbit hole game.

- Is there some way to fix the mini map so that north is always at the top??? I hate how it rotates

- I really like our rival! And the appearance of the adult key characters! They're fun so far.

- I want more trainers to battle tbh. It feels real sparse in that department.

- Finally, is this whole game just an ad for a collab with Swarovski???
