The move of flagship 9-1-1 to ABC, due on financial reasons, was announced in May. Now its spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, which was renewed for a fifth season by Fox in May, will not return with new episodes this spring. Instead, the drama starring Rob Lowe, will produce 12 episodes to air in fall 2024, making fans’ wait for Season 5 extra long.

Like any other linear or streaming series, 9-1-1: Lone Star has been impacted by the double Hollywood strike. Earlier this fall, Fox and producing studio 20th Television had been discussing an 18-episode order, six episodes for midseason and 12 for fall, sources said. As the SAG-AFTRA strike stretched into November, those plans changed, and the two sides ultimately agreed on 12 episodes for fall 2024.

Fox needs 9-1-1: Lone Star next fall. Like other broadcast networks, Fox is delaying its new 2023-24 scripted series, dramas Doc and Rescue: Hi-Surf, to 2024-25, aiming at a fall/January launch when the network has NFL and MLB coverage as promotional platform. As Fox’s most established, longest-running and highest rated remaining drama, 9-1-1: Lone Star is expected to be used as a lead-in to help get both series off the ground.

Fox has renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star, starring Rob Lowe, for a fifth season. It will be the only 9-1-1 series on the network next season as flagship 9-1-1 is not being renewed. (It is expected to move to ABC.)

A spinoff from 9-1-1, Lone Star is Fox’s second highest-rated and most watched drama behind the mothership first responder series. Produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, 9-1-1: Lone Star gives a look into the lives of the police, fire, and ambulance departments of company 126 in Austin, Texas.

The series stars Lowe, Gina Torres, Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McClain, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva, Julian Works, Brianna Baker as well as Kelsey and Skyler Yates.

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear are creators, executive producers and writers. Bradley Buecker is an executive producer and directed the series premiere. Alexis Martin Woodall, Rashad Raisani, John J. Gray, Angela Bassett, Lowe, Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson and Bob Goodman also are executive producers.

Hello!! i wanted to start a little series to explain the tarot cards. this first post will be just the Major arcana and their elements, and keywords, as well as positive + {yes}, negative - {no}, or both = {maybe}

I know there are many guides out there, and many different interpretations. tarot is all about instinct, intuition, and what just feel right deep down. this series will explain the basics of each card, but it is up to you to determine what it means to you.

The 12-episode fifth season of Lone Star will be used to launch Fox’s two new drama series, delayed to next season by the strikes, Rescue HI-Surf and Doc. The network is so high on the former, it just ordered seven more episodes, bringing the lifeguard drama’s freshman season to 19 episodes.

The move last year of Fox’s most watched series of 2022-23, 9-1-1, to ABC after six seasons over cost concerns raised questions about the long-term future of the network’s second most watched scripted series, spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star. The speculation intensified after Deadline revealed in November that Lone Star (which is less expensive than the mothership) wouldn’t be airing new episodes this season, with many wondering whether Season 5 would be the first responders drama’s last on Fox.

Sources at both Fox and producing studio 20th Television stress that no decision on the future of Lone Star will be made until Season 5 airs next fall.

Still, sustaining a high-end drama like Lone Star from an outside studio under a model better suited for a vertically integrated network and studio is challenging. 20th TV is reportedly running a deficit on the show, and the two sides could not find a way to make new episodes this season. Fox had been targeting an 18-episode order — six episodes for midseason and 12 for fall — ultimately settling on a 12-episode Season 5 pickup for 2024-25 season.

We can cross “finding Dory” off Colter Shaw’s to-do list.

CBS‘ Tracker has enlisted Manifest vet Melissa Roxburgh to play Colter Shaw’s sister Dory. The casting was first confirmed by Colter himself, Justin Hartley, who shared a photo with his new TV sister on Instagram.

“Colter finally reunites with his little sister Dory in the coming weeks,” Hartley revealed. “Join me in welcoming the lovely and talented @MRoxburgh to the @TrackerCBS family!”

TVLine has reached out to CBS for additional details on Roxburgh’s debut. An airdate has not yet been disclosed.

Tracker’s Feb. 11 premiere introduced the This Is Us vet as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country and uses his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries… all while contending with his own fractured family.

That’s where things got interesting.

Flashbacks revealed that Colter and his siblings — which include an older brother, Russell, and a younger sister, Dory — had an unusual upbringing. Their parents, Ashton and Mary (played by Oz’s Lee Tergesen and Good Sam’s Wendy Crewson), “were professors at Berkeley until there was this incident with my dad,” Colter explained. “So, he took us to live off the grid at this cabin. It was a compound, actually, by Sierra National Forest,” where Ashton “started to talk about these people that were out to get him and how we all had to be prepared. He taught us how to track, how to hunt, and he taught us to free climb at this place called Devil’s Notch.”

One night in 2003, when Mary wasn’t home, Ashton’s paranoia got the best of him and he made a run for it, leaving his three children behind. Russell went after him, and an hour later, Colter found his father, dead, at the bottom of Devil’s Notch. It appeared as though he’d been pushed by Russell.

In the present day, Russell has attempted to make contact with Colter. There’s supposedly something Colter “needs to know.” However, Mary — who has not been seen since Episode 2 — wanted Colter to disregard his brother’s pleas.

Up until now, there’d been no mention of Dory in the present day timeline.

“We have to address that,” Hartley previously TVLine. “When it happens, it will be very meaningful… [but] you won’t see her early in Season 1. I can tell you that.”

Tracker was previously renewed for Season 2. New episodes air Sundays at 9/8c on CBS (and stream next day on Paramount+).
