I tried to pick music that aesthetically, musically, and lyrically matched c!Techno's vibes--the playlist follows his story from pre-DSMP to post-Doomsday (so not the whole thing, but a nice, peaceful ending point). The intention is for you to follow c!Techno's journey as you listen, and I think this playlist has a rather nice message about finding yourself and finding peace through rather hostile circumstances and worldviews. 1918 08 10 Amiens, Dogfight RAF 32 Sqn vs Jasta 15 - Peter Dennis

The air operations in support of the ground battle reached their zenith of intensity on 10 August. By this time the RAF effort was shifting back towards the original intention of interdicting the German lines of communications by attacking the key railway centres through which any reinforcements would need to transit. Twelve DH9s from 27 and 49 squadrons were tasked with bombing Peronne railway station escorted by SESas of 32 Squadron and Bristol Fighters of 62 Squadron. As they approached the target from the south-west they were attacked by 14 Fokker DVlls from Jasta 15 led by the ace commander of JG II, Rudolf Berthold. In order to maintain the advantage given by a higher position both attackers and defenders normally split their force with one element placed above the other to act as 'top cover'. Once under attack a defender would attempt to execute a climbing turn towards the attack to bring his own guns to bear, prevent the attacker form getting on his tail and to get above the attacker. As a consequence each combat soon degenerated into a rolling maul of aircraft climbing and turning in search of a killing shot. Flying with 32 Squadron was Second Lieutenant J. 0. Donaldson of the USAS on attachment to the RAF. Donaldson was flying as top cover as 'B5' in SESa E5939 when: " "observed 9 Fokker biplanes, at 13000ft over Peronne, at 1130hrs dive on 3 SE5a). Pilot coming to their assistance, fired 150 rounds into first EA [enemy aircraft) at close range, EA turned over on its back, and went down in a flat spin, and was observed to spin, out of control about 10000ft. Four Fokker biplanes dived on Pilot, who made a climbing turn, firing 50 rounds into second EA without results. Pilot did half roll and dived again, two EA continued to follow, pilot then made another climbing turn, firing 50 rounds into EA without result. Pilot turned and dived under some Bristol Fighters ". A passing patrol from the elite 56 Squadron joined in the melee to stack the odds against Jasta 1 5, however, the powerful DVlls were faster and more agile than their opponents and exacted a severe toll from the RAF as one DH9 and four fighters were shot down for the loss of only one German aircraft. Unfortunately for JG II the loss was Berthold who was seriously injured after having his aircraft shot out of control. With no one able to confirm Donaldson's victim's crashing he was only credited with a 'shot down out of control' rather than a kill. Donaldson's luck ran out three weeks later on 1 September at Cambrai where he became the 11th victim of Leutnant Theo Quandt of Jasta 36 and was taken prisoner.

6. Who would ask the "would you love me if I were a worm?" question? How would their S/O answer?” Honestly I think Lady Terror would be the one to ask. Francis tells her yes and if she wanted to stay with him as a worm she’d “ be the best kept worm in all of christendom”, in his words (whatever that means, babygirl). 

16. Who is the better caretaker? Does their S/O like being taken care of? Honestly they’re both very good caretakers, though Francis is much better at “doing the things that need doing to care for a person” bit while Lady Terror I think is a bit better at like. Keeping people calm and feeling cared for (not to say that either of them are not as good as the other, because they certainly are, but they have their strong suits). And oh my god man yes Francis loves being taken care of by lady terror oh my god she lets him rest his head in her lap and everything.

26. Who gets jealous most often? How does their S/O deal with that? I honestly think it depends. I think Lady Terror has more potential to become jealous (even though it doesn’t happen very often honestly)  from 1) her lack of experience being committed to,  2) her own trauma from past relationships and coming out of those feeling horribly betrayed and 3) also the whole divorce scandal with her parents. Did I mention her parent’s divorce scandal? Yeah there was a whole divorce scandal. But even when she is jealous she remains relatively level-headed about it and doesn’t act out from it (usually, unless an offending party provokes her to it), and she is nothing if not articulate and aware of what she’s feeling. And credit to Francis where it’s due he’s never been dismissive of her emotions, and that I think helps them actually work through it rather than let it escalate to lashing out or acting rashly.

Francis doesn’t so much have a jealousy streak when it comes to Lady Terror (though time was he might have, and he definitely knows that), and I think it’s because she has pretty consistently made it clear that she has chosen him to share her life with, and having never been picked in such a way, has a bit more faith that she wouldn’t betray him. (also she’s always been the more sociable one. She’s definitely more of an ambivert than he is and doesn’t take personal offense in those kinds of situations. Besides, she will NOT interact with people she doesn’t want to interact with. He knows this and he loves her for it.)

36. What is something that would break their hearts? For Francis, I think it would genuinely be another romantic rejection- or more precisely to be left behind. I don’t think he could bear being rejected for a third time by anyone, let alone by Sofia but by anyone. He’s too old to have his heart broken like that again and it’s why he takes so long to even admit to himself that he has feelings for Lady Terror because he cannot fathom the kind of pain it would cause him.

Lady Terror however I think it would break her heart the most to be dismissed. To have her thoughts and feelings disregarded. Granted, she’s used to it happening with most men and some women, but to have it happen to her coming from someone she loves and respects and who she thought loves and respects her in turn would devastate her. 

46. If they were ever in a life or death situation, who risks their life?  Lmao both of them. Because they both have savior/self sacrificing complexes and they’re calculated with it but they WILL take a risk if it means saving more lives. It’s something that I think they admire about each other when hearing of their past exploits before they met.

56. Who tends to be the level-headed one? Who is feral? Oh Lady Terror is absolutely more feral. She is very very smart when she is feral but she is much more willing to act on impulse about it (for more information, ask Mr. Hickey. He knows.) Francis is definitely more level-headed but absolutely has more of a fiery temper in comparison to how cold Lady Terror’s fury is (but no less passionate, mind).

60. Are they willing to show PDA? If not, is there a reason? They ARE willing, but they are very very shy, (and also lmao you know how the victorians are about propriety if a couple isn’t married yet. Big no.) But also it’s a bit of a carry-over from their time on Terror. They did their damndest not to show that kind of affection for one another for fear of discovery (which would doubtless have caused a mutiny- if Francis’ pre-sobriety behavior hadn’t started that line of thought with some long before that). But they are not beyond the occasional hidden gesture of affection from prying eyes. Holding hands behind each others backs, brushing their fingers against one another subtly as to not give them away. They become more open about their affections eventually, but my god does it make them blush like crazy. 

61. How would they describe their S/O in one word? Francis (on Lady Terror): Good. Lady Terror (on Francis: Handsome.

62. How would outside characters describe their relationship? By-in-large I think people are a little skeptical at first about them together. Like perhaps they shouldn’t be together for some reason or another, that it’s a bit odd, a bit queer. But when people see how affectionate they are to one another, to see how much they truly care for one another? How Francis truly seems to soften and relax around her and how she brightens to talk about him… to those who know each of them best that’s the sign of true love right there.

63. How would they describe one another in bed? I think Francis would describe Lady Terror as a port in a storm. Welcoming, warm, tender in ways he never thought he’d know for himself. At the same time she rides him like the waves of the storm itself, and he can’t help but admire the sheer power she has over him and how easily he’s taken by her. Lady Terror on the other hand finds him sturdier and steadier than strong oak… and weirdly just as bendable (I mean HAVE YOU SEEN THAT MAN??? HE’S SO LIMBER FOR HIS AGE!!! It’s truly miraculous). Though his cock doesn’t quite always cooperate with this image she has of him (although it should be noted that he’s had a much easier time of it since he embraced sobriety it still happens every now and again), he’s very grounding as a lover and seems to find that her pleasures feed into his, to which she certainly has no complaints.

64. Would they ever answer the above question if it was asked to their face? How would they react? Oh Francis would be too much of a blushing mess. He was never one to kiss and tell much even with his closest friends like Blanky and Ross (even though those two definitely HAVE actually seen him in intimate positions before). But I think the lovestruck look in his eye would probably say all you’d need to know- that yes she fucks him well and yes that is probably where he’d rather be right now. Lady Terror might be a little more inclined to give a more cheeky answer in the company of a good friend, but otherwise much prefers to keep her and Francis’ doings to Francis and herself.

65. Who tends to take the lead in intimate encounters? They both can, and do. Both of those bitches are switches and they live up to it. Literally it all comes down to how either one is feeling on any given day.  

66. Have they ever been caught in the act? What would be their reaction if they were? Yes. By Blanky. Everyone else would have the care to knock first at Francis’ cabin door if it were shut but not Thomas (and understandably so). And listen. They’re all three of them good enough friends to laugh it off eventually, but that happens for some sooner more than others (aka. Thomas starts laughing about it immediately and making raunchy jokes while she and Francis scramble to make themselves relatively decent, even though it’s a bit too late for that now. It has Thomas in fucking stitches. He is genuinely happy for them but he can’t believe his luck). 

67. Have they ever done it anywhere questionable? Believe it or not, not particularly. At least not on Terror (they’re already paranoid enough about being caught behind closed doors in quiet hours, they’re not going to risk anything more). After that… well… you’ll find out.

68. Who is more vocal? Who is more experienced? I think Lady Terror is probably overall more vocal (but jesus christ when Francis moans it’d make an angel weep I swear to fucking god), and Francis is certainly more experienced overall, but there are times when she does things to him that have never been done to him before and it makes him feel like he’s a virgin all over again all the same (yes she gives him prostate orgasms. That’s what I’m implying here in case that weren’t clear). 

69. If they were to go shopping, who holds the bags? Who decides where they go? I think Francis would WANT to hold the bags but Lady Terror wouldn’t let him carry all of them. Lady Terror would probably plan where they go a little bit ahead of time but absolutely will deter said plans if Francis wants to have a look in somewhere. Whatever babygirl wants honestly.

76. Are they soulmates? Do they believe in that? I mean yeah duh what are you talking about I think they both think they have found something really rare and special with each other that I think they would qualify as being soulmates, but truthfully I think Francis might actually believe that more than Lady Terror does (and of course not to say that she doesn’t, but she’s formed many deeply meaningful connections with people and knows that Francis has as well, and she wouldn’t limit the depth of how she feels or has felt about others as lesser… but at the same time Francis is absolutely the love of her life and the only man who has ever truly treated her in a way that made her feel like an equal to him, and has wanted her romantically as such… so yeah. Soulmates without a doubt). 

86. Who gives the best gifts? Who gives the more thoughtful? Who goes for expensive?  Ok here’s the thing they both are VERY good gift-givers, both of them are VERY thoughtful and give gifts as truly heartfelt gestures. Though Lady Terror does tend to spend a little more money on her gifts sometimes (by virtue of being just a little more financially well-off) whatever she uses that money towards is no less heartfelt and will go out of her way to buy something dear to someone especially if they don’t have the means to get it themselves.

San Francisco’s Family Dog Productions ventured up to Portland Oregon with this "Poster From The Past".

In 1967, largely psychedelic acts such as the Grateful Dead, Blue Cheer, and The Electric Prunes performed in the Crystal Ballroom. This was cut short though in 1968, due to concerns about what such music was doing to the youth of Portland. What a joke! They were already so far out there it was hilarious!

The "Crystal Dog" began with the rising San Francisco band Blue Cheer. They were famous for touring with an enormous sound system (with a huge bank of Marshall Stax amplifiers), and was generally the LOUDEST group around!

Blue Cheer’s legendarily heavy debut album, Vincebus Eruptum, with its proto metal single ‘Summertime Blues”, had just been released.

It was 56 years ago on this date back in 1968 that the Family Dog presented Blue Cheer and Nazzare Blues Band at the Crystal Ballroom for just two nights of shows. Lights provided by Luxsit Lites. This is one of only four advertising pieces for the Crystal Ballroom that the Dog put on. The central image is the Dog’s famous logo with Chief Emmit Liquitum front and center. This logo is seen on just about every one of the posters or handbill that they produced for their dance/concerts and events. He was first seen on FD# 1 Tribal Stomp” poster on Feb. 19, 1966 which I’ll post in a couple of days. There was no actual poster for this dance/concert, only this Handbill on a lightweight paperstock. Art credits go to rock artist De Walde.

Need to let shit out and as i can't afford therapy anymore, here's the place

I have no idea what to do anymore. Been playing with the idea of an onlyfans or selling feet pics, but i don't have the persistence for even that. Can't pick up any commission work bc i can't draw. Can't keep the print shop bc i can't afford materials. Im considering just selling all machinery to pay the bills.

Dad's only got 500brl from his payment this month, bc he borrowed money from the bank and it's eating up his whole salary. No, i have no idea where the supposed money he's borrowed went into. No idea where he spent enough money to cut his salary in fucking half, paying 144 installments of 1500brl.

We have to pay 1350brl for the apartment, about 250 for all phones, 180 for the internet, and thankfully this month only 56 for electricity but it might have been wrong and we might still get another bill with the right amount.

Outside of that, we need to eat, and i need to pay for my new phone that i only got bc the old one was about to explode, plus our credit card is blocked bc we don't have 5k to pay it right now. The credit card was being used exclusively to buy food.

I lost my job with the psychiatrist to her new computer, mom thankfully still has her first husband's pension, and dad gave us 500. So we have, collectively, about 2k if i give up my savings, and then next month we're back to about 1300brl, which doesn't even pay the apartment.

Dad has a job, a public job, from where he can't be legally fired. But he's on medical leave, so he can't work extra hours to earn more. I do understand the pressure and how tired he is after almost 30 years, but he's the only one who has a job. When I started working for the psychiatrist, he dumped all of the bills on me, but i was only making 300 per week and now I don't have this anymore. He's on medical leave bc he hates the school he teaches at, and got the leave with his psychiatrist. But if he needs to go back to work, he can't change schools bc no school will take a teacher on medical leave, so he doesn't want to go back. As i said, i do understand all of his psychological issues, but why do I have to ignore mine, which are also physical, to take whatever job, but he can't go back to the job he already has?? Isn't fucking survival first? We can't afford FOOD!

I have a medical leave check for myself to see if i can get into health security benefits in a couple weeks, but what if i can't? What if they look at me and say tough luck, deal with it? I haven't had an interview lined up yet, i went physically to places to give them my resume, but im either way under or too over qualified for literally every position i tried. Jobs that just require high school level won't hire me bc im graduated at university level, and places that require uni level also want me to have at least a mastery, or 5 years experience, or both.

I don't actually want to become a cam girl or whatever, I can't do the jobs i have the means to keep bc the means are gone, im too depressed to draw anything, I can't afford higher education and i have no drive right now,

I spent the last month in such a spiral of depression, bc i can't show that im depressed or my mom's depression will get worse. My best friends sent me money and im so embarrassed about it bc i shouldn't need this kind of help at all, and it was only enough to keep up for a month in the end. I can't bring myself to take any kind of whatever job, like at a store or supermarket or cleaning bc i won't survive the pain. I can feel my health declining, im in pain all the time, my bad foot has been acting up everyday and my ok foot is also annoying me.

I can't see much of any solution for anything. I became a burden, to my parents and to myself. To everyone. If i wasn't here, maybe it would be different. Easier. Cheaper.

Everyone's celebrating the steamboat mouse coming into public domain and yes I definitely understand it and think it's a good thing to celebrate. I'm not gonna take that away from anyone. But my brain instead, for some reason, is fixated on the hatred I feel over how extensively D1nsey has abused legal powers to keep any forms of the mouse out of the public domain for as long as they could. Yes, the original version of the mouse is now in the public domain. But did you know that more recent versions will never enter the public domain as long as D1sney is a company? This is because they have made this version of the mouse their trademark as a "cooperate mascot" and "brand identifier", and you can renew your trademark as many times as you want.

Extra rambles below the cut talking about all the bs this company has done to keep even the original version of the mouse out of the public domain

Do people know that the company lobbied to change the copyright laws TWICE to extend his arrival into the public domain? Works were initially only supposed to be protected for 56 years after publication, as of the most recent amendment to copyright law at the time, from 1909. Meaning it should've entered public domain in 1984. But they changed the laws! To be then extended until... 2003. For a total of 75 years of protection. And then, of course, they lobbied AGAIN in 1998 to get the laws changed AGAIN to extend it to now a total of 95 years after publication. (Fun fact, the 1998 act, even back in the day, was jokingly called "The M1ckey M0use Protection Act" to make fun of it.)

The initial lobbying at least made Some sense on strictly a surface level. I can see why they made a case for copyright law being outdated, as prior to them first getting a new copyright law act passed (1976), that obviously means it hadn't been updated for 67 years. Especially notable considering how much had changed in those years. The one from 1909 was made with books in mind. I don't agree with it, but as I said, on a very high surface level, I can understand it.

But their true motives, keeping the mouse from entering the public domain, were very clear. So I feel this credit I could give them is null. Especially considering, as I already said, they would lobby again just 22 years later to extend it even further, because 75 years apparently wasn't enough for them. The only TRUE credit I can give them is that they weren't the only company pushing for this, they were just the main ones. But that is very very minimal credit at best.

Overall I think copyright is a stupid concept, other than the basic idea of preventing other people from saying they own the material or character. And I say this as an artist. But regardless of any opinions on copyright law, it's very clear that D1sney is acting purely on a capitalistic urge and fear.

My rewatch of Hilda season 3

It has been an hour since I finished my rewatch of season 3. And what's amazing, I finished it about 4 minutes before it struck 12 am in my area. if you don't count the extra credits after the original or something. It was 11:56 pm when I was looking at my phone.

Anyway, it's also Christmas today. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you who read this. Or if you're a Hilda fan, Happy Sonstansil if you want to say that.

Again, I'm not spoiling anything huge. But I want to mention this information. The fact that Luke Pearson and Andy Coyle said that there were 6 more episodes planned for this season. But it was shortened to 8 episodes. And I agree with many that I would've liked it if was the usual 13 episodes we got like we did with season 1 and 2.

But to be honest with you all. After my rewatch, even with it being shortened than the previous seasons. I legit think season 3 is an excellent season that is brings an emotional closure to the series. I agree with Andy that we were incredibly lucky to have that third season be even made. And while I do think it being short was fine with me. It still saddens me we didn't get more of the extra episodes we should've gotten.

And I'll admit, I'm sorry I didn't get this out right away. But compared to my reaction last time. The first time I finished season 3...I essentially broke down crying. But this time around, I guess you can say I was happier? More so, I was pacing around in the kitchen, thinking about a lot of stuff. Wondering if I should do a retrospective on the series. And that seems like development for me that the first time I finished it, I was heartbroken. But now, I feel like maybe I've accepted it this time around. Unless the feeling returns, but I felt much better this time around.

I will admit, I still did tear up/cry at that "Memory" part and I'm not spoiling that.

Will admit, I'll never forget my experience watching season 3 for the first time. First time watching something is always special. But back to the point, season 3 is still pretty excellent. Everything about it still oozes brilliance with its animation, writing, voice acting, and many other things. Even if some things could've been dealt with better. But I still appreciate the end result.

Also, I legit think Ryan Carlson legit outdid himself this time around. Season 3 probably has the best score in all the series. Also, the sound design is insane because I mentioned this already. I swear, my volume was only at 18. But I swear, it's so loud that I feel like I'm in an IMAX theater. Or simply a movie theater, but I'm going with the IMAX option because dang, the sound design is some powerful stuff.

And to be honest, when I was pacing around. I was really thinking what my favorite season is of this show. And I don't want to choose favorites for some stupid reason because I love them all. Even though I had wondered about picking season 3 because similar to how I feel about season 2. It was so nice to finally get season 3. Seeing all these characters again, but just how this season goes. And I feel like if we had those extra episodes. This season would likely be my favorite.

I also wanted to talk about something concerning the fandom. The ones that were...a bit negative I could say. With opinions I can understand. Mainly the idea some folks didn't like the idea that this season was more serialized than the other two seasons.

To be honest, I heavily disagree with someone's notion that season 3 was underwhelming, forgettable, and disappointing. I felt the opposite because after watching this show for five years. Even with a shorter season. The crew managed to deliver a satisfying final season. And I'll admit, while chapters 3 and 4 were fun and nice in their own right. I actually didn't mind season 3 being more serialized this time around. Especially with what the focus was on.

And there's also parts of the fandom or...I don't want to sound mean. But to the people who have an issue with certain reveals this season. I totally understand if you don't like season 3 for some of the decisions they make in this. How this may...mess up your AU's or something. But these days, I'm usually all for a creator going with their vision of a show or a movie. If this is how Luke Pearson wanted for season 3, then I will respect his decision. And I honestly loved his direction for season 3. Also, I think if we had more episodes, I think maybe things could've been more cleared up. That's what I hoped the other episodes could've been. Maybe episodes on the Marra, Trylla, Erik and whoever else. Mainly epilogues to certain characters we saw in the finale.

It's almost an Owl House season 3 situation. But in other words, I really don't mind teen Hilda. I don't mind Anders, and I don't mind some of the reveals in season 3. And along with the fact what the themes and story they were telling in season 3. I appreciate what they were doing. Even though I question if my opinions should be considered valid because I don't own any of the books or that's a whole other thing.

I want to finish this soon. But I want to mention two things. You know when I said chapter 2 and even chapter 8. I was getting Silent Hill vibes from certain scenes. I didn't say this the first time. But chapter 6, I think saying Resident Evil vibes or so is the best way to describe how scary that episode is.

And you know what? There are certain characters the Hilda fandom hates. Erik, the Committee of Three, Trylla and even Anders. There are some others. But you know...despite my issues with those characters, season 3 introduced I hate. While I could say the Spider-Frog/Frog-Spider, but no despite how I feel about that character.

The Fairy Entity...that is a character that I would straight up become Bayformers Optimus Prime and be like "Time to find out" to this character. If you've watched season 3, or you know personally, you'll understand why I'm saying this. Screw that character, yet I'm likely overreacting.

Anyway, it's been two hours now. I should post this now.

LOS ANGELES — A federal court jury on Thursday convicted a Bay Area man who was an FBI special agent of conspiring to accept at least $150,000 in cash bribes from a lawyer with ties to Armenian organized crime, authorities said.

Lafayette resident Babek Broumand, 56, was convicted on two counts of bribery of a public official, one count of conspiracy and one count of monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity, U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada of the Central District of California said in a statement.

Evidence at the 11-day trial showed Broumand accepted cash, checks, private jet flights, a Ducati motorcycle, hotel stays, escorts, meals and other items of value from the organized crime lawyer, Estrada said.

He was remanded into federal custody and is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner on Jan. 30, 2023. He faces maximum sentences of 15 years in federal prison for each bribery count; 10 years for each unlawful money transactions count; and five years for each conspiracy count.

The jury found Broumand not guilty of one count of bribery of a public official and one count of monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity.

According to Estrada, Broumand was an FBI special agent from January 1999 until search warrants were searched on his business and home in 2018. He was responsible for national security investigations from the FBI’s field office in San Francisco.

Estrada said that in return for the bribe payments, Broumand conducted law enforcement database inquiries and used them to help the organized crime lawyer and his associates avoid prosecution and monitoring. Authorities identified the lawyer only as E.S.

Broumand helped E.S. by informing him whether a particular person or entity was under criminal investigation, Estrada said. Broumand would tell E.S. to “stay away” from a person or that they were “OK,” according to Estrada.

To conceal their work, Estrada said Broumand made it appear as if E.S. was working as an FBI source. Broumand wrote reports after the fact to make it look as if he’d conducted legitimate law enforcement database inquiries, Estrada said.

E.S. paid Broumand at least $150,000 in cash and check bribes, as well as other accessories valued at more than $36,000, Estrada said. The bribes were deposited into the accounts for Love Bugs LLC, a Lafayette-based lice-removal hair salon business that Broumand and his wife started in 2007.

At one point early in the scheme, according to Estrada, E.S. asked Broumand to query the FBI database for Levon Termendzhyan, an Armenian organized crime figure for whom E.S. had worked. The database search revealed an FBI investigation in Los Angeles.

Estrada said court documents showed Broumand accessed the FBI case file on Termendzhyan repeatedly in January 2015 and again in May 2016.

A federal jury in Utah found Termendzhyan guilty in March 2020 on criminal charges related to a $1 billion renewable fuel tax credit fraud scheme, Estrada said. He still awaits sentencing on those charges.

Broumand also interfered with an FBI investigation into Felix Cisneros Jr., a corrupt special agent with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. Cisneros also had ties to Termendzhyan. Cisneros was convicted at trial in 2018 for his corrupt acts with Termendzhyan and again earlier this year for his corrupt acts with E.S., Estrada said.

Cisneros is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 17.

MAN OF THE DAY #56 : HENRY CAVILL

I shouldn't have any specific reason to talk about Henry Cavill, famous British actor who - as you know if you've read my TOP 10 MOST HANDSOME MALES CELEBS - is for me the most handsome man in the world on a par with Chris Hemsworth.

So I've blogged about Henry Cavill before, and even written a personal fictional story about him. Here, I admire him, he seems arrogant and humble, gentle and dominating, seductive and a great fucker... In short, he is more complex than he looks. He has evolved physically, mentally and also in his acting and his choice of roles.

The news has arrived: he will not be reprising his role as Clark Kent / Superman in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe, i.e. the DC Cinematic Universe). For those who have seen the movie Black Adam (2022) - which I reviewed on my blog - this news is surprising. I wouldn't say more. Let's just say stay until the end of the credits.

Either way, it seemed obvious that Henry Cavill was going to return, but nothing was official. It was then formalized but now that James Gunn (director of the Guardians of the Galaxy saga in the MCU) has become artistic director of the DCEU, plans have changed. In addition to Wonder Woman 3 which will not take place (to my great regret), Superman will no longer be played by Henry Cavill, but that does not mean that there will not be a Superman film, or even that he could one day appear if we create a DC multiverse.

Well, I'll stop with the details of cinema and I advise you to read an article to which I put the link, and which explains the situation.

So here it is, if I regret this decision it's because Henry Cavill is my Superman. Yeah, that's the version I would have known growing up. There is also the interpretation of Superman in the Lois and Clark television series, but that is something else. We are talking about movies here.

And honestly, Henry Cavill was perfect. In addition to the fact that he is physically perfect (very tall, very muscular, harmonious face, dreamy smile, as handsome in Clark as in Kal-El), he had a perfect conquering look. I loved his couple with Lois Lane who is excellently played by Amy Adams.

It was already planned that Amy Adams would not resume her role as Lois Lane (under the pretext that she is too old when honestly she is sublime for her age), but this is really too bad for Superman, who is a fantasy as much as a model.

Superman is a hero who is admired for his kindness and courage, but he is the one who defends the weak and fights against powerful villains. It seems naive said like that, but he is a model and also a living god whom we admire for his complexity. Especially since he has a turbulent private life.

As far as I'm concerned, it's always his physique that I imagined when I wrote about Superman several times.

Films and television series where Henry Cavill are always successful, and I understand better the frustration of fans of the series The Witcher (Netflix). I'm not one of them, but I understand their regret at no longer seeing Henry Cavill.

For my part, I think that a character is more important than an actor, however the way a person plays a character influences our view of the character. So Henry Cavill was a real fan of the character he played, like those who had the privilege of playing Peter Parker / Spiderman.

Well, the fact that an actor no longer plays his role is not the most serious news in the world, but that does not mean that we cannot regret that an actor as handsome and charismatic as Henry Cavill can no longer play a character as admirable and brave as Superman.

Je ne devrais pas avoir de raisons spécifiques pour parler d'Henry Cavill, célèbre acteur britannique qui - comme vous le savez si vous avez lu mon TOP 10 DES PLUS BEAUX MÂLES CÉLÈBRES - est pour moi le plus bel homme du monde à égalité avec Chris Hemsworth.

J'ai donc déjà parlé d'Henry Cavill sur mon blog, et j'ai même écrit une histoire fictive personnelle sur lui.

Voilà, je l'admire, il a l'air arrogant et humble, doux et dominateur, séducteur et grand baiseur... Bref, il est plus complexe qu'il n'en a l'air. Il a évolué physiquement, mentalement et aussi dans son jeu d'acteur et son choix de rôles.

La nouvelle est arrivée : il ne reprendra pas son rôle de Clark Kent / Superman dans le DCEU (DC Extended Universe, c'est à dire l'univers Cinématographique de DC).

Pour ceux qui ont vu le film Black Adam (2022) - dont j'ai fait la critique sur mon blog - cette nouvelle est surprenante. Je n'en dirait pas plus. Disons simplement qu'il faut rester jusqu'à la fin du générique.

De toute façon, il semblait évident que Henry Cavill allait revenir, mais rien n'était officiel. Cela avait ensuite été officialisé mais maintenant que James Gunn (réalisateur de la saga Les Gardiens de la Galaxie dans le MCU) est devenu directeur artistique du DCEU, les plans ont changé.

Superman est un héros que l'on admire pour sa bonté et son courage, mais il est celui qui défend les faibles et combat de puissants méchants. Cela paraît naïf dit comme ça mais il est un modèle et aussi un dieu vivant que l'on admire pour sa complexité. D'autant qu'il a une vie privée mouvementée.

En ce qui me concerne, c'est toujours son physique que j'ai imaginé quand j'ai plusieurs fois écrit sur Superman.

Les films et séries télévisées où Henry Cavill sont toujours réussies, et je comprends mieux la frustration des fans de la série The Witcher (Netflix). Je n'en fait pas partie, mais je comprends leur regret de ne plus voir Henry Cavill. Pour ma part, je pense qu'un personnage est plus important qu'un acteur, cependant la façon dont une personne joue un personnage influe sur notre regard sur le personnage. Ainsi, Henry Cavill était vraiment fan du personnage qu'il jouait, à l'instar de ceux qui ont eu le privilège d'interpréter Peter Parker / Spiderman.
