Several Sentence Sunday
Tagged for Inspiration Saturday by @jesuisici33 @hippolotamus @alliaskisthepossibilityoflove @disasterbuckdiaz @cal-daisies-and-briars and @daffi-990, please take this as your Sunday tag. Yesterday I was busy being insane over 7x01 so didn't have time to write but managed to smash a bit more of Single Dads out when I got home from Delivery Suite today! Please enjoy a section of my version of Dosed
Buck figures out something’s gone wrong when he starts to hear the pollen. The truck sways as it banks a corner and Buck tips sideways into Eddie, feeling like his body and time are moving through thick molasses, everything shiny and floaty. He looks at Eddie and man, he really is beautiful. His lashes sparkle and his eyes are shining pools of hazel brown chocolate. Buck swears he can see Eddie’s eyes ripple every time they blink. It’s like he’s floating on a cloud as he walks into the building, his legs barely moving but still he moves forward. He dimly wonders if his feet have been replaced with wheels. The world comes grinding to a halt when he sees the first beauty queen. She’s tiny, barely coming up to his hip, but looks like an adult and Buck’s brain kind of short circuits as he stops abruptly and stares at her with his mouth open. Eddie’s next to him with a dopey smile on his face and Buck very vaguely registers Chim hurrying off in another direction with his gear. He knows he should probably follow but he can’t, rooted to the spot with fascination for these tiny women. Not even the call of “Hey Diaz, Buckley, let’s go!” can unstick him. Buck slowly turns to Eddie. “Did these beauty queens shrink, or are we suddenly giants?” Eddie’s eye bug out and he takes a step backwards, inhaling sharply. “They’re like your beauty queens!” he exclaims as Buck watches Athena handcuff a lady. That’s confusing, why does Eddie think he has beauty queens? The only tiny people he has at home are his daughters. And boy are they miniscule. Buck wonders with a thrill of fear if they’ve been shrunk too! He should ask Hen to check them out when they get back, he doesn’t want shrunk daughters. That would be bad. Buck turns to Eddie and grasps his arm. Wow. Eddie’s muscular. Buck would like to sink his teeth into those biceps. “Do you think they shrunk Lily and Carrie too? Or Christopher?” he asks urgently. He’s gotta know. They’d have to take them to the paediatrician, or something. “I think that’s possible,” Eddie nods seriously. Buck doesn’t like that one bit. He stares at the ceiling instead, watching as weird lines of silver and gold shimmer around the eaves, leaving Eddie to bemusedly survey the tiny ladies. Athena ushers another tiny beauty queen, complete with her full-grown adult companion, across the room, letting another police officer take them as she comes to a halt in front of him and Eddie.

Eve Lyra Glaspie
| 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘-𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 | ● Born March 5, 1997 in Drayton, NC. Pisces 🌞 ● Aquarius 🌙 • Scorpio ⬆️. She spent the first twelve years of her life in the hoods of Drayton, North Carolina. The move to the suburbs of Athena, Georgia happened when she was thirteen years old. She spent all of her adolescent years in Georgia. She transferred from GSU to LSU when she was twenty years old, the beginning of her life in Belle Vie, LA.
| 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 / 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑 | ● Eve is a self-proclaimed old soul. Her musical influences stem from the way she was brought up. She spent a lot of time with her grandparents. They played a lot of Anita Baker, Barry White, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, and Roberta Flack. Her parents were more into Aaliyah, SWV, En Vogue, Prince, UGK, Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, TLC, Whitney Houston, Outkast, Jill Scott, and Michael Jackson. Eve was a part of an R&B group with former friend Sylvia Vaugine and one of her best friends Princess Whittaker. The group was called Nu Soul. Sylvia was dubbed the best performer, Eve was the soulful aspect, and Princess was the glue that kept it all together. They had two hits that charted on Music Now's R&B Charts. The biggest being a cover of TLC's Baby-Baby-Baby that peaked at number five and the second being a cover of En Vogue's Don't Let Go, which peaked at number ten. Their only original song was called Through Enough and it was in the top 20 R&B charts. The group only released one EP that made a huge impact on black youth. Yet, social media was unfortunately the downfall of the young girl group as well. They disbanded after their short-lived success because of a petty feud. The girls went their own way and garnered solo success through their respective followings on social media. Eve has three million followers on Grampic, a million monthly listeners on Music Now, and 800K subscribers on VidMe. Aside from music, she's known for her unique fashion sense. She cites Aaliyah, Left Eye, and Naomi Campbell as her style icons.

SATIVA RAYANA SAYERS
𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗬-𝗦𝗜𝗫 | ● Born October 31, 1997 in Liberty City, FL. Scorpio 🌞 Scorpio 🌙 Cancer ⬆️. She's the daughter of a woman who was known as "Mary Jane" around Florida. People gave her the moniker because she was well-known for selling weed to numerous drug dealers. Alongside Sativa's father, Mary sold narcotics. Cocaine and crack was sort of "average" They were her boyfriend's thing. Mary was the one who introduced weed to their business. What made her marijuana stand out among the rest was the potent THC and impressive structure. Everybody sold weed and coke around Liberty City back in the 90s and 2000s. But only one person was dubbed the queen of marijuana. That was Asani "Mary Jane" Jones.
𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗥 / 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗩𝗬 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗥 | ● Standing at only 5'2 like her mother, Sativa's curves came from the same woman. Mary Jane faced struggles in a male-dominated industry. Certain men didn't take a 5'2 woman seriously. That's what her 6'2 boyfriend was for. He wasn't just a cocaine-addicted drug dealer. The guy had the muscles of a body builder. And the coldest eyes anyone had ever seen. Sativa's father was much more than a dealer. He was also an enforcer until the drugs took him all the way down in his mid 30s. He went from being addicted to coke to battling a heroin addiction in the late 2000s. Ironically, the latter formed while he was incarcerated on drug charges. By this time, her mother left the business. She was smart enough to invest in a barbershop that her younger brother ran for her. Sativa was close to her uncle and his wife. Matter of fact, her first job at the age of ten was sweeping up hair at his barbershop. She learned about unisex salons because of him. His wife worked as a braider who specialized in braids, twists, and locs. She taught Sativa how to braid and her uncle taught her how to cut. When Sativa was around fifteen years old, the aunt even let her do some of her clients' hair. The rave reviews made her want to pursue it professionally. She became sidetracked after high school because of a man. Much like what she grew up around, Sativa was attracted to drug dealers and gang members. Her most infamous boyfriend Draylon "Killa D" Johnson was a part of a gang on the south side of Liberty City. He was a few years older than her. Sativa was eighteen and he was twenty-three at the time. Draylon was in the midst of a gang war between two gangs. Bodies were piling up, blood was splattered on the streets. It got so bad that even cops avoided certain neighborhoods they knew was too dangerous for even them. The rumor was he was responsible for at least fifteen of those bodies. Sativa was blinded by her parents' love story. She wanted one just like it and got it with Draylon. He was flashy and unashamed of what he was doing. Draylon was showing off guns, money, and alluding to the killings all over Grampic. Sativa was in the background of a lot of pictures and videos, making people wonder who the girl with the "big ass" was. They started following her more than him and that's when their relationship got complicated. He became abusive and insecure. He wouldn't let her do anything. Sativa was even pregnant at twenty-one. A physical altercation led to a miscarriage. Still, she wouldn't leave him. They were very well-known on the urban side of Grampic, black youth being their primary audience. Unfortunately, Draylon wasn't allowed to redeem himself. He was killed in his late twenties by a younger member of the rival gang. He caught him "slipping" outside of a corner store. Sativa was only twenty-three years old when he died. The money he had stashed away, she used to relocate to Indiana and start anew. She went to beauty school to get her license and built her own unisex salon called "Cultivated Hair"

DENALI ROBYN DELANEY
𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗬 | ● Born June 30, 1993, on the north side of Villemore, MD. Cancer 🌞 Libra 🌙 Pisces ⬆️ The product of a north side love story. Her parents were teenagers who fell in love in the late 80s. The story begins when they were both fourteen in 1989. They were attending high school during the time when Washington, D.C. was declared "The Murder Capital" Villemore was just thirty minutes away from the Southeast region of Washington, D.C. The high murder rate stemmed from the crack epidemic plaguing the DMV area. Her own father's mother had fallen into temptation, trying crack in 1987. She became addicted to the drug. Her father always said that he was both a "motherless" and "fatherless" child because of the abandonment. Her mother came from a different kind of family. Perhaps because she came from a mixed background. Her father was Jewish and Italian. Her mother was Afro-Latina. She grew up wealthy. Her father owned local laundromats, and her mother worked in the medical field until her retirement at 45. Denali's father was Black and Irish. He didn't know his Irish side well because he was many generations after his great great great grandfather, who was Irish. By the time he was born, his bloodline was mostly Black.
𝗦𝗧𝗬𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 | ● When she was growing up, Denali could remember people commending her mother on her looks and fashion sense. Her parents didn't let a teen pregnancy stop them from pursuing their dreams. Denali's father played college football. He was one of the players who received money from drug dealers who wanted them to win games for profit. Gambling on college games was big in his era. A career-shattering injury ruined his chance of going to the pros. He worked a normal 9-5 until the 10's. His alma mater offered him a coaching job. He worked as a defensive coach, eventually working his way up to head coach. That's been his job since 2019. Her mother is a homebody. She does arts and crafts, including blankets and seasonal wreaths. She sells them online. They're the complete opposites of what they were as teens in the late 80s and early 90s. Denali would say she got her style from her mother. Don't confuse the recluse for the stylish diva of the 90s. Her mother is more modest at 48. She doesn't care about keeping up with trends like the 90s babies she gave birth to. She lived in the era, attended Freaknik, wore the big exaggerated hairstyles, the booty shorts, etc. Denali modeled a lot of her image after her mother. She rose to prominence through social media. She was one of the first women to blow up on Grampic. Her college years were all over Blurbs and Grampic. After realizing she could make serious profit from the internet, Denali took it seriously. She has made claims that Grampic paid off her student loans and bought her first foreign whip. Denali started working as a stylist to the women of the WABA at the age of twenty-six. It started with one reaching out then came a viral outfit, and the rest was history. The AFL decided they needed to be more "hip" and "inclusive" Thus, the reason teams started hiring more minorities who were social media savvy. The Commanders, under new management, hired Denali to be a style consultant to a few of their young ballers who had an impact on the youth.

THE QUEEN IS HERE!!! (and the others too, I guess)
Spoiler Alert!!!!!
(but if you ignore the warning you might have a little treat 😉)
Let me scream right off the bat because Queen Demeter is slaying in episode 6. I love my queen <333
Also, Demeter and Hades teaming up for Persephone and revenging the gods who wronged them? It's unexpected but understandable. They both love Persephone and cannot share her in peace, so they will rule together and all have their time with her. The scene tries to make Demeter look like a pestering mother-in-law but I'm all rooting for her. Her voice and sinisterness is sooooo good like YES MOMMY PLEASE BURY ME 😍😍😍
Okay, now let's talk about Heron. I love that he doesn't forgive the villagers who mistreated his mother but still have sympathy for the innocent women and children. If they made him forgive them easily I would scream but turns out no, BOZ did good with this one.
Heron powering up last minute to beat the Keres is cliche but I'll let it slide because I have other matters to nitpick (also Alexia snapping Heron out of his lightning intoxication reminds me of Katara calming Aang down from his Avatar state). And Heron threatening the last Keres? Gary Stu but still badass AF. Home boy is not letting people stepping on him anymore but he still cares for the people.
I know everyone finds him boring but I feel really bad for Heron in here. The pain of losing your dear mother drives you to want to die and join her again.
And Heron - Seraphim's reunion? Heart-warming and hear-breaking. They are similar and shared more pain than they would think.
"Only three things can cause the pain in his eyes. Love, war, and the gods. And he looks like he's had his fair share of all three."
This applies to both brothers actually. They lost their loved ones, they'd been through the war between the gods and the titans, and they were like the pawns of the gods.
The short moment Heron and Seraphim had together was golden. I love it.
Also why did they design Iris like one of the Christian angels???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No!!! Iris is one of the messengers of the Olympians, not the Primordials! She served as Hera's handmaiden!!!! WHY DIDN'T THEY LET HER BE HERA'S RIGHT-HAND WOMAN IN SEASON 1????
UGH!!!
They kinda ruin my sister trio :( Persephone and Athena, to be exact.
Tumblr media
Why do they have to make Persephone on bad blood with Athena??? They are childhood friends (in the myths) why do they talk like they have always been at each other's throat? Seriously, Persephone has a good relationship with most other gods, why does people always think she hates them???
I get that Athena always put Olympus first like Persephone loves the Underworld so they are tensed but it would have interesting if they were torn between their duty and their friendship. But it's a me thing.
Ah, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself there. We haven't talked about Demeter trying to poison the earth yet.
I know TOO WELL the producer is trying to make Demeter the bigger bad so Hades will look better in comparison. Hades even tries to protest her evil scheme (but that will only shows his hypocrisy in the last episode, we'll get there later)
I'm mad that BOZ paints Demeter in a bad light. But you know what?
At this point, fuck it.
I will root for her even as a big bad villain. I will support Queen Demeter's right and wrong. If Hera and Seraphim almost destroys the world and y'all still love them, I will love my queen even when she tries to poison the world.
Now let me show you why the Olympian sisters are ✨ MAJESTIC ✨ when they commit crimes so ooh la la~~~
Tumblr media
Yes, my queen. Please poison me with your plants :333
Tumblr media
I love you too, my destructive queen of the Heavens ❤️
Tumblr media
And I love you three, my fire queen 🔥 Please keep burning your enemy to ash 🥰🥰🥰
Still hungry for more women?
The Amazonians are hereeeeeee!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, Heron and the gang meet them when fighting Talos. Nice nod to the mythical robot and the hydra, though the latter serves little purpose other than a little inconvenience.
But at least we have some back story of Alexia! Her moment with her aunt is brief but very touching :DDD
Tumblr media
And it's really nice to show how the world is going upside down when Zeus the god of order is now gone. Though I really wish they would display his role as keeper of order more in SS1.
Oh, you made it this far?
Have an additional treat!
BABY ZEUS!!!!!!
Tumblr media
YOUNG ZEUS!!!!!!
Tumblr media
PRE-TITANOMACHY ZEUS!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Yummy 😋

For the ask meme, any of the ship questions? There are quite a few ships I've seen you reblog stuff for so I was curious.
I'll answer 22. Your OTP?, 24. Your OT3, and 25. Favorite rare pair?
I have a couple charts that I update on occasion, these care there current appearances:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not pictured is Gregory Edgeworth/Tyrell Badd and Vera Misham/Wocky Kitaki. They don't get to be on the chart bc they are uncomplicated.
Oh and I should probably explain the colors lol. Blue is I def ship it, Orange is the ship intrigues me or I like it in certain situations and I could be convinced to full on ship it. The one green is Krisnix bc that's fucked up but they definitely have a toxic psychosexual thing going on, sorry, I don't make the rules. We have a pink between Dhurke and Datz bc they seem like codependent besties who have probably made out a couple times. Amara is cool with it. And we have a red line for klavdar bc it defintiely happened but I hate Daryan. Sorry.
As you can tell I am a multishipper and I also happen to be a faqn of polycules. Will I ever write a megacule fic? Maybe. So far the closest I'm getting is Bag-verse which will be Pollycule VS Emacule.
So OTP? If I can only pick two characters I'm going klapollo all the way. They're my boys (gender neutral).
OT3? Claypollier. My boys plus my other boy (gender neutral).
My fav rare pair? Probably Aura/Amara. It's just the biggest power move on Aura's part. Aura are you dating the former queen of Khura'in? And can you imagine it from Simon's perspective? Aura are you dating my partner's mother? Nahyuta finds out and he and Athena start a support group for the children of Aura's partners. Apollo shows up when he starts getting letters from them. Aura takes her role of step mother very seriously (read: she really likes to fuck with them). Rayfa doesn't call into meetings unless she's mad at Aura bc otherwise they get along.
And Aura genuinely likes Amara and helps her through everything. They actually have a lot in common.
So yeah. The real question is how do I tag this? I don't know the majority of the ship names and I'm pretty sure some don't have one. Please let me know if you know one I haven't tagged or if there's an official one if I made one up.

[May 28, 2023]
Alexia already knew that running away was not a good idea. Since that fateful day when she was taken by the goddess Athena, Alexia had thought of many ways to escape, but after much reflection, the Greek girl concluded that even if she really had a way to escape, Athena would always be 20 steps ahead of her.
Since being brought to Mount Olympus to live alongside her new mother, Alexia has been 'blessed' to become a goddess too, even though she is a minor goddess and apparently she is the 'goddess of familial love' which is quite ironic for her because she was taken from her real family to live in a family that she nurtures no love or any kind of respect.
Furthermore, it is nearly impossible for her to have any ties to any god. For several months after her kidnapping, the only gods she interacted with were Athena herself, Artemis at times when she went to Olympus, and by Alexia's surprise, Alcaeus himself, better known as Heracles. The most famous hero of Greek antiquity swore to the Goddess who helped him complete his labors that he would keep Alexia safe and escorted when the Goddess of Wisdom was away from Olympus or too busy with her divine duties.
Contrary to what Alexia had already imagined of Heracles, he was very calm to talk to and also more relaxed than when he was a demigod tormented by the Queen of Olympus. Furthermore, Alexia even met Hebe, the wife of Heracles. Her life on Olympus was peaceful, as she has no interaction with troublesome Gods like Hermes, Apollo, Dionysus, Ares, etc. Of course, Athena insisted that her father never got close to Alexia for very obvious reasons. In addition, Hercules would insist that his father would never have the courage to approach Alexia even if he really wanted to.
But Alexia missed home, missed her parents, her grandmother and the simple life she had before meeting Athena. She wanted her old life back, but she knows it wouldn't be possible and that Athena would never allow her to return.
“Hello Alexandra!” Heracles calls her so that the two of them could take a walk in the gardens of Mount Olympus. The former demigod hero received instructions from the goddess herself to take care of Alexia, first it was for him to always take a walk with her in the gardens of Mount Olympus since Alexia herself was admired by the beauty there, second was for him making sure she eats well and third and last was so he never left her alone.
“Hey…” On that specific day Alexia's memories of her old life haunted her and left her always melancholic and with only the desire to drown her sorrows alone in her room. Heracles immediately senses the melancholy in the little goddess and regards her with a worried look.
“Alexandra, are you okay?” The hero of Olympus asks her when he sees her sad look. At that moment, a risky idea crossed his mind, but her mother Ekaterini always said that it was always better to take a risk than never to try, who knows it might work out.
“Lord Heracles, may I stay in my room for today? I want to be alone for a little while.” She started her charge. Heracles looked at her with a slight look of distrust and seriousness, but then he sighed and answered her.
“Alexandra, you know Lady Athena doesn't want you to be left unattended while she's not here.” The hero patiently explained to her. But Alexia decided at that moment to appeal to the emotional, letting the tears that she had allowed to accumulate all this time fall from her brown eyes and moisten her cheeks.
“P-Please… I just want some time alone. Just this once, please…” Immediately she saw the hero's face soften as he saw her cry, Heracles sighs and agrees.
"All right. Everything is fine. You can go, but I'll be checking in on you every hour, understand?" Alexia softens her expressions and gives a slight smile as she wipes away her tears. Heracles then takes her to Athena's chambers which have become Alexia's as well.
As soon as Heracles leaves her at the door of his room, Alexia thanks him and with just a wave Heracles withdraws and leaves the area, leaving Alexia in her golden cage. After waiting a few minutes, Alexia opens the door to the goddess Athena's chambers and looks around to find any sign of Heracles.
As soon as she saw that the corridor was empty, Alexia closed the door to the chambers and remembered that she had a portal that led to Earth in the Council room of Olympus which she remembered being taken by Athena through it. If she could just cross the Gardens of Olympus and reach the Council Room without being seen by anyone, she would already be winning.
Cautiously, Alexia manages to leave the room area and she arrives at the Gardens of Olympus, she managed to pass through the area managing to hide behind the bushes and trees so she easily managed to reach the Council Room, but she hides behind one of the thrones when the portal shines and a person comes out of it: Athena.
Alexia holds her breath and tries to calm her anxiety so that Athena won't hear her at all. The Goddess of Wisdom emerges from the Council Hall, and as soon as she is out of sight, Alexia sees this as her opportunity to make her escape.
The Greek girl came out of her hiding place and walked to the portal. She stares at it for a few seconds, but before she could jump on it, she stopped to think if this portal really took her home and if it wouldn't take her to a different place. Even with all these questions flooding her mind, Alexia takes a deep breath and decides to take a risk.
However, the portal disappears and Alexia panics when she hears Athena from afar arguing with Heracles. Shit, they realized she was gone. Alexia immediately runs to hide behind one of the thrones, but specifically behind Zeus’s.
"It doesn't matter, go look for her in the gardens and I'll look for her here." Athena gives her order as soon as she enters the council room and Alexia was able to hear Heracles' hurried footsteps getting lower and lower as he walked away. Alexia held her breath and tried to calm herself so as not to panic and reveal where she was.
"Four months. You have been here for four months and you still dare to defy me, daughter.” The last word came out like poison on Athena's tongue. Alexia was able to catch the aura of fury emanating from the Goddess of Wisdom, who is normally calm and collected, and kept to herself, trying her best not to put herself in the Goddess's field of vision. Then the Greek girl heard the sound of the sword coming out of Athena's belt compartment and the girl's body froze.
“Do you really think you can escape me? Do you think I'll let you go? Why are you so difficult?” Athena asked, walking around the Council Hall in search of Alexia as she was paralyzed behind the throne of Zeus and awaiting her inevitable end.
“Maybe it's about time you understood why… I am the Goddess of Wisdom.” Then suddenly Alexia feels a hand grab her arm and she is pulled out of her hiding place. Alexia looked away so that she wouldn't be forced to face Athena's cold eyes, but obviously that would be useless since the goddess herself with one of her hands grabbed Alexia's chin tightly and forced her to face her.
“Explain yourself, now.” Alexia already felt tears immediately leak from her eyes even against her will, she didn't want to show herself vulnerable to the goddess.
"I'M GOING TO MY REAL HOME WITH MY REAL FATHER AND MOTHER!!" Alexia screamed in response and so Athena let go of the hand that was holding Alexia's chin and grabbed her sword, pointed at the Greek girl and the tip of the blade was so close to the girl that it was enough to make her alert.
“This is your home and I am your mother. Submit, already.” In response Alexia manages to break free from Athena's grip and manages to walk away, but she would not be able to run away since the Goddess of Wisdom would never allow it.
"NEVER!"
"You will or your blood family will suffer." Athena obviously would never get tired of his threat, not least because Alexia's family is her policy so that she would never run away or try to do something against the goddess.
“My family does not deserve to suffer because of your selfishness!” Alexia retorts, but soon she sees an evil smile forming on Athena's face.
“No, they will suffer because of your disobedience. In war, when you want to conquer a city like yours, you must capture its heart. You are the city I want to capture and since your blood family is your heart, I will destroy them.” That simple comparison was enough to make Alexia's heart drop into her stomach and panic freeze her body. Like it or not, Athena was right, if she continued to disobey the goddess, her family would bear the consequences and Alexia would not be able to live every day knowing that she was responsible for it if something happened to them.
With a lot of pain and weight in her heart, Alexia gives up and lowers her gaze, a clear gesture of submission.
“Okay, I give up… just don't hurt them, please.” Alexia was aware that she was looking pathetic but it was her family's life in her hands and she wasn't going to risk anything.
“Great, good girl. It won't happen again, will it?" Athena asks as she lowers her sword and approaches Alexia. The girl shakes her head and her lip trembles to hold back her tears.
"No…"
"Excellent. You have my word that I will not do anything to them as long as you behave yourself.”
Alexia finally got the courage to face the goddess and saw the goddess smiling patiently at her as she offered her hand to her. The Greek girl had no choice but to grasp the goddess's hands, and that was enough to seal her fate.
That she would never escape Athena's obsessive gaze and that she will always be her Little Owlet.

i think my main problem with the announcement of the new gods is that i really don’t feel like new gods are really gonna get me hyped about smite. it’s good to finally get requests like horus and set (side note: i can’t believe we got king arthur and merlin before these super important egyptian gods like...) but they don’t interest me like they should, it just feels more like hi-rez just putting out gods bc they have to? or something like that
hi-rez should really be putting more focus on polishing what makes smite great instead of trying to churn out more content bc there’s such a disappointing disparity between the old gods who need texture updates/remodels/rekits and the new gods that are visually stunning and have p interesting kits. isis still looks repulsive and her abilities are so basic looking while merlin is out here outdoing the goddess of magic with a single stance lmao.
#i seriously want most of the egyptian pantheon to get remodels........#my girl neith............ why have they done you like this..........#anhur's stupid stubby legs / bastet's shitty half done cat woman look / sobek's gross hunchback deal / ra... just ra...#seeing set and horus... their concepts are so goddamn nicer looking than everyone in the egyptian pantheon combined#serqet's stupid metal tail!! why isn't it a real tail goddamit#what's with her personality as well??? her lore sets her up to be more serious by hi-rez has just hacked away any aspect of that#i love skinny fashion queen serqet but i'm just sad........#and don't get me started on isis!!#iggy azalea looking ass motherfucker#overgrown chicken with proportions that look like she was stretched with a medieval torture device#maybe that would explain why she looks like a goddamn plague victim!#hi-rez did the egyptian pantheon dirty...................#of course khepri and thoth and perfect#geb is fine and so is osiris#and anubis is my unofficial husband#but the rest of them hoes........#ugly! boring! gross! old! smelly!#and god would this be an opportunity to fix some really fucking questionable goddess designs#please god fix nemesis and athena's outfits PLEASE#MAKE ARTIO A WHOLE ASS BEAR WOMAN#GIVE HER THE THICKNESS SHE DESERVES#pass the morrigan a few more purple scarves#give nu wa the stunning and regal robes she deserves#she can still have the really pretty floating outfit idea#but make her look really really really regal i'm begging y'all#give kali a more interesting outfit! i want the severed heads back!#MAKE IZANAMI FUCKING SCARY YOU FUCKERS#awilix i love you but please invest in a sports bra#GIVE FREYA THE ARMOUR SHE NEEDS....#JUST CHANGE HEL ENTIRELY SO THAT WE ACTUALLY GET A SCARY DARK SIDE PLEASE!!!!

Your high school years will be the best days of your life. At least, that’s what everyone always says.
Spencer never quite understood the sentiment. Why would the best years of someone’s life be right at the beginning? People live on average for 85 years, why would sixty-seven of those be spent in a steep decline from the supposed golden years of adolescence?
And when he finally got to high school—albeit four years before he was ever meant to—the phrase made even less sense. This was it? After so many nights dreaming of a bright future, all he had to look forward to was the isolating darkness of the inside of a locker and violent words tossed like rocks at his chest? It didn’t seem fair that his supposed ‘best’ years were filled with hate when so many of his classmates played sports, had friends, and became prom king or queen because of their overabundance of them.
It was almost over. CalTech had accepted him only a month after Spencer had submitted his application, and his mom on a good day had told him it was “a testament to his potential”—whatever that was supposed to mean. She’d sat Spencer down and told him it was a good thing, that he was meant to be a part of great things one day.
Standing behind the field house that day, with a blindfold on to wait for Alexa Lisben, Spencer began to wonder if maybe he was only meant to be a part of terrible things.
Blindfolded and half their size, it was far too easy for the other guys to wrangle Spencer to the goal post. He screamed the whole way, lashing out with each limb and at one point feeling eight larger hands roughly gripping him into submission—leaving behind painful scars long after the bruises faded. Amongst the panic he’d heard other voices, those of people he recognized. He heard Josh and Arthur, who sat with him at lunch when the football team was out traveling for a game. There was Hannah, who ran the student government anti-bullying committee. ‘Please, stop this, don’t let them do this to me,’ Spencer had begged—he’d tilted his head in the direction he’d heard her and wailed, waiting for the help that he knew deep down was never coming.
It was easy to say hate was bad, but it was another to risk everything to defend the moral stance. If it came down to saving another person or preserving your carefully collected reputation, livelihood, Spencer knew what people would pick every single time. He knew because he’d seen it time and time again—he saw it in his father leaving without so much as a goodbye because he could no longer take care of his wife, and he saw it in the terrified looks kids gave him when he tried to speak to them, the careful glance over their shoulder and lame apology as they ran from this, from being strung up and left out in the rapidly cooling night alongside him.
Spencer didn’t know how long he was left there. He’d kept a careful account of everything, a meticulous run-through of every piece of himself like a diagnostic test. His fingers had begun to go numb behind his back hours ago, the ties being far too tight (not that any of them truly cared). His entire body was exposed to the elements and had long since stopped shivering—a surefire sign of more dangerous things to come. Spencer wondered how long he could make it like this, wondered if no one would find him until the morning. Was he close to lasting until then?
“Oh my God.” A voice! Spencer’s head whipped around to look in the direction of the horrified voice despite the blindfold concealing the person from him.
“Please help me,” he spoke, voice shaky and barely there.
“Who did this to you? What the fuck,” the voice hissed and suddenly hands were brushing his, shaking as they tried to free him.
“The entire football team, and about half of the cheer squad,” Spencer admitted, wondering if maybe this person would give up and walk away when they heard that.
“Well fuck them, they’re all fucking idiots.”
Huh, that was new. This person wasn’t afraid of the consequences that came with helping him. Instead, they continued to dutifully work at the knots until Spencer could move his arms again. His limbs burned as he tried to pull them back to his sides, enough to make him cry out against the painful stiffness.
“I’m gonna take the blindfold off of you, okay?” The voice warned before cool hands were on him again, this time unknotting the fabric from around his head. Spencer squinted against the dim light from the distant streetlights. It was completely dark now, indicating that he’d been stuck there for hours. “Uh, here. You can wrap my jacket around your waist.”
Spencer grabbed the jacket from the person quickly, wasting no time in concealing his lower half from view. He’d been exposed like that for several hours, how many people had seen?
“We’ve got two options here. I can take you home, or you can come back to my place and warm up first.” Spencer finally looked up to see who had saved him, and immediately his cheeks flushed red. There you were, the girl everyone knew not to mess with. You kept to yourself mostly, didn’t really have the protection that came with having a large group of friends. Unlike Spencer, though, you never seemed to need it. Your own fiery personality kept people from picking fights with you. Everyone knew you could—and would—fight back.
“I, uh, I don’t want to bother you anymore,” Spencer spoke, wrapping his arms around his still-exposed upper body.
“That’s bullshit,” you said simply, taking his hand in yours and beginning to walk away from the field goal post he’d been stuck to for so long. “C’mon, my parents are out of town for the week, no one else will see you. You can get warmed up and we can find you some clothes before you go back home. I’m sure your parents don’t want to see you coming home like this.”
There was only one logical reason why his mom hadn’t noticed he was gone this long. It must’ve been a bad day for her, she might have even been experiencing an episode. She probably wouldn’t even notice when he did get back, as long as he remembered to re-do each lock on the door.
Still, Spencer couldn’t imagine walking into his house like this.
“Thank you,” he answered softly as you led him to your car. The two of you were in the same grade, you actually being the proper age of seventeen for a senior. He’d seen you around, of course, but he’d never had a reason to talk to you until now. Why would he, when he was five years younger than you and absolutely not cool enough to try?
“Spencer, right?” you clarified, nodding when he confirmed as such. “Okay, Spencer, first things first. Never thank anyone for basic human decency. That shit should be expected.”
“But it’s not expected,” he countered, sliding into the passenger seat.
“Are you...old enough to be sitting up there?” you asked, pulling a laugh out of Spencer.
“I’m twelve, not four.”
“I’m just checking,” you laughed along with him before starting up the car. Immediately a loud song burst through the radio, to which you winced and dropped the volume down to almost nothing. “I’m sorry no one helped you.”
“It’s okay. I wasn’t expecting anyone to.”
“Spencer, I hope you know that makes it so much worse.”
The car ride was a quick one, barely making it past the school before you were pulling into a driveway of a standard suburban house. You ushered him up the walk and into the house, straight through to your room. Every square inch of the house was spotless until you pushed the door to your room open further. There, it looked like someone actually lived there. Clothes were strewn about on the backs of chairs, textbooks piled up beside your desk. Your bed was unmade and on it laid a black cat, curled up as tightly as possible.
You seemed to catch Spencer staring at it, because your entire expression softened and you said, “He doesn’t bite, you know. It’ll take me a minute to find some clothes that’ll fit you, Simon can keep you company.”
“Why’s his name Simon?”
“For Simon Le Bon, of course,” you laughed, soon clarifying when he still looked confused, “The band, Duran Duran.”
“Oh, right.”
“I’ll be right back. Seriously, get comfortable, do whatever you have to do.”
You slipped out of your bedroom again, leaving Spencer standing in the middle of it feeling a little lost. His head was swimming as it fought to catch up with everything that had happened that day. Not only had he had to deal with the normal horror of high school, but his bullies had taken everything three steps too far. Not only that, but now he was standing in the most badass girl’s bedroom half-naked because you’d chosen to rescue him.
It almost felt like a dream.
Spencer padded over to the bed, reaching over to gently scratch Simon behind the ear. The cat purred happily, standing up and stretching before making his way closer to Spencer. The little thing stretched upward, front paws reaching up to rest against Spencer’s middle.
“Do you want to be picked up?” Spencer asked, reaching down to lift the cat up to his shoulder. He stood there like that for a few minutes, holding the cat in one arm and petting him with the other. It was more relaxing than he’d expected, focusing on the back and forth of his own hand against the soft fur of this happily purring animal.
Spencer hardly noticed when you’d returned.
“Oh, Simon never lets anyone pick him up like that. He must really like you.” Spencer smiled, feeling a bubbliness in his chest at the thought that someone wanted him around, even if it was a cat. “I found some old sweatpants and a shirt from my older brother, they might be a little big on you but it’ll work.”
“Thank you,” Spencer said again as you handed him the clothes then turned around to afford him some privacy (even when you’d already seen him).
“So who were the ringleaders? I want names,” you asked as Spencer hurried to get dressed. The sweatpants were a little big in the waist so he had to tie them off well, but overall the clothes were soft and comfy enough.
“You really don’t have to do anything tomorrow, I’ll be fine,” Spencer hurried to say, not wanting to drag someone else into his problems. You were almost done with school—you’d nearly survived without anyone really targeting you, the last thing Spencer wanted to do was ruin that.
“Yes, I do. Those jackhats were reckless and stupid. You could’ve gotten really hurt out there, and for what? So their egos could be rubbed off? I don’t think so,” you exclaimed, turning around once Spencer was through changing. “They don’t get to use their power just to hurt other people, that’s not cool.”
“I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.”
“Trust me, I won’t,” you reassured him, and though you sounded sincere, Spencer couldn’t help but worry. There was always a trick with people—no one ever spoke to him simply because they wanted to, no one was kind unless there was a trap waiting for him to walk into. Sure you’d helped him so far, but what was to say nothing would change when you both got back to school the next day? “If I’m in a position to help someone else, I’m going to, and that’s that.”
You sure sounded real, though. You sounded unlike anyone else he’d ever met. It made Spencer wonder where you’d been through high school, why he couldn’t have met you before. Things would have been so much easier, if only.
“Could I—” Immediately Spencer cut himself off, knowing that was a line he wasn’t going to cross. You’d been nice to him thus far, but he didn’t want to push his luck. He didn’t want to push you.
“What? You can tell me,” you urged, kind expression never wavering.
“I don’t want to go home yet,” Spencer whispered, fingers gently curling into Simon’s fur from where the cat stood on the bed. “I don’t want to be alone tonight.”
“Then stay,” you answered simply, never once considering any other option. “I can make a pillow wall if you don’t mind sleeping in the same bed, or our couch is pretty comfy too if you’d rather that.”
“Can we do the pillow wall?”
“Yeah, can you grab the spare blankets from my closet? They should be on the middle shelf.”
Sure enough, the fuzzy blankets were easy enough to find in your cluttered, albeit organized, closet. By the time he turned around again, you’d already gathered up as many pillows as you could find to build up a barrier between each half of the bed.
You easily took the blankets from him, splitting them up between each half so both of you would have plenty of warmth through the night. Both of you climbed into your respective sides of the bed, Spencer curling up with all of his blankets. He knew he’d likely wake up too warm, but for now, the pressure was comforting after he’d spent so long being so cold.
“Thank you, Y/N. For everything.”
“Hey, that’s what friends are for, right? I’ll be there whenever you need me, from now on.”
Spencer didn’t say anything else. How could he when you’d said that so simply? While you fell asleep easily, Spencer lay wide awake for hours wondering if having a friend was truly meant to feel this safe and more importantly, how long this would last.
It lasted for the rest of the school year. The next day, you drove Spencer to school and stared down anyone who dared try to make fun of him for the previous night. You were there to confront his bullies, shouting at them until one of the teachers had to step in. When lunchtime came, you found him in the library and the two of you were so loud Spencer was able to eat in the cafeteria for the first time in four years. He came to your house on days when his was too chaotic, when the burn of watching his mother suffer was too great.
For everything, you were there.
And when graduation came, Spencer cried. He cried because you were going to a university on the east coast, he cried because for the first time in months he’d have to figure out how to live without his best friend. He cried, because for so many years, Spencer never thought he’d miss anything about this town.

A nurse’s job was never quite over until the end of the shift, but with how stressful the past several days had been, everyone was prepared to give a little more slack to each other.
That was how you ended up away from your usual pediatrics floor, slipping out of the room where your past patient was now recovering from something that just hours ago had been considered a death sentence.
“Hey, Nevada, get over here!”
“What, are we four?” you laughed, shaking your head but dutifully making your way over to the nurse’s station where your friend was sitting. “I have a name, you know.”
“Of course you do,” Daniel returned easily as you leaned over the counter, resting your forearms against the surface. “But I’d rather call you Nevada.”
“You know I haven’t been there in years, right? It hardly counts.” Though you sometimes missed the warmth and familiarity of the desert, you couldn’t say you’d ever regret not making it your permanent home. The east coast was where you belonged—it was the first place you got to be yourself without any worries about how anyone from your hometown would view you, it was where you found a large group of friends and it was where you found a place to truly call home.
“Why’re you up here anyway? You stick out like a sore thumb in those teddy bear scrubs,” Daniel teased, leaning back in his chair as far as he could without tipping it.
“You’re so funny, man, seriously.” You rolled your eyes without any real venom to it, “you’ve really gotta work on your material. And for the record, I wanted to check on my patient. I heard they found a cure.”
“You had one of the anthrax patients?”
“Yeah, until Dr. Kimura centralized all the cases here,” you explained, eyes drifting down the hallway to stare at the room you knew your patient to be resting in. “I heard there were survivors, I needed to see if...”
“Was she?”
“Yeah, kid’s making a full recovery,” you answered, a bright smile unable to wash off your face at the thought. Working in pediatrics could be the most heartwarming job sometimes, but it could also be absolutely devastating when you lost a patient. There were often days when you went home and wondered how you could continue doing this for the rest of your life, days when nothing seemed worth it.
‘If I’m in a position to help someone else, I’m going to.’
“You know, I heard some of the FBI agents over there talking,” Daniel began, leaning over the counter so he could relay the details to you in a hushed tone. “The guy that found the cure? He risked his own ass for it. Nearly died and everything.”
“No kidding?” you asked, your gaze following your friend’s over to the hospital room where an FBI agent was keeping guard outside. “He knew there wasn’t a cure?”
“Of course he did,” Daniel added, speaking just loud enough that the agent’s head turned to look at you two. “As far as I’m concerned, Agent Reid’s a hero.”
And that, well.
“What? Go back a second?” Surely it was a coincidence. There had to be tons of Reids with a heart of gold in the country, this couldn’t be your Reid. After all, the last time you saw your Reid he’d been stick-thin and graduating with his second Ph.D. in California—there was no way.
“What? You don’t think he is?”
“No, no, of course, he is. What’s his name?” you asked, reaching over the counter when Daniel didn’t answer quick enough. There was the man’s chart, labeled with the right room number sticky and
everything.
And God, there could be a lot of Reids but there was only one Dr. Spencer Walter Reid as far as you were concerned.
As soon as you saw the name on the chart, you were practically sprinting away from the nurse’s station. Daniel and the woman sitting outside the room yelled after you, but the sound hardly reached your ears. Because there, laying on that hospital bed, was a man you’d never expected to see again.
And damn, he looked good. Spencer had filled into his features, now sporting a jawline that could cut glass if he wanted to. His hair was a little messy but you could tell he’d long since learned how to tame his curls. But beneath it all, you still saw the golden eyes filled with so much kindness that your hometown never deserved to see, and you saw his hands which gave the most perfect hugs. You still saw Spencer Reid—the guy who’d never once stuttered at your high school reputation, the guy who’d been your friend through everything including the late-night calls screaming about wanting to drop out when the stress was too much.
“If you’re not assigned to his medical team, you can’t be in here,” the woman from outside the door told you, looking to Daniel as if to say ‘control your coworker?’
“It’s okay,” Spencer spoke up finally, and it honestly sounded like a dream.
You weren’t sure what had happened so many years ago, but the two of you had fallen out of touch as so many long-distance friends did. You went on to have a job and establish a life for yourself, while Spencer continued to excel in school. By then, the two of you had been in different phases of your lives, and he’d still resembled that little kid who’d experienced kindness from his peers for the first time from you.
That little kid was long gone now, replaced by a federal agent who’d risked his own life to save dozens more, simply because he’d had the power to.
“Hi, Spencer,” you finally managed to get out, waving a little awkwardly with your fingers. What could you possibly say to your old best friend, to the man you hardly recognized but still felt so comfortable and safe around?
“Hi,” Spencer said back, readjusting on the bed so he was sitting up a little more. He carried the same awestruck expression you were sure was plastered to your face—eyes wide and lips parted, looking at you like you were something to be marveled at.
“I thought you said you’d stay out of trouble?” you sighed, moving over to sit down beside his hospital bed. “This doesn’t look like that to me.”
“It was for a good reason,” Spencer laughed, and you tried not to wince at how breathless he still sounded. It was clear in his chart that he was cured, that every ounce of those spores was out of his body, but still, your heart couldn’t help but race at the obvious signs of his past infection. Because you could have lost him today, and you wouldn’t have known until Dr. Kimura made a passing statement about the federal agent who gave his life to save so many, your patient included. “Isn’t that what you always used to tell me?”
“Yeah, but you weren’t supposed to follow that advice,” you shot back, crossing your arms over your chest. “When I imagined seeing you again, it definitely wasn’t with you laying in a hospital bed.”
“You imagined seeing me again?”
He never grew out of his lack of confidence, did he?
“Of course I did,” you answered simply, braving reaching out for his hand. Despite the coolness of the hospital, his hand was still warm, his fingers lacing between yours like they were meant to fit together. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too,” Spencer admitted, voice going soft. “You know, comparatively, Quantico isn’t far from Annapolis.”
“It’s not,” you returned, already liking the way this was going. Now that you knew he was here, that he’d been living so close to you for who-knows-how-many years, you never wanted to let him go. You wanted to get to know the new him, the Spencer who became a federal agent and kicked ass despite everyone from home telling him he couldn’t.
You wanted to finally talk in the same room again. You wanted to stay the night with him, building a pillow fort and talking through the night about anything and everything. You wanted to cuddle into his side and watch the stars. You wanted to feel at home with him again.
“When you’re out of here, my apartment is always open,” you told him, hoping you weren’t the only one who wanted to rekindle what never quite had a chance to develop.
“Can we make a pillow fort?” Spencer asked, a growing smile taking over his face.
Everything was somehow falling into place. When you'd gone to work that morning, you never expected to run into your childhood best friend. It didn't seem possible, that the man you always wondered if you could fall for was in front of you right now. All you knew was that you wouldn't waste this chance, you'd allow yourself to get to know the new Spencer Reid. You'd allow yourself to fall if the universe was ready for it.
And you couldn’t help but think, sometimes it really was that easy.

     Tall Greek columns supported the ornate ceiling in your room, long curtains around your bed and some around the open walls.  You loved the fresh air so there were no walls to make you feel closed in.  You were high above the clouds, and the weather on Mount Olympus was always beautiful so it didn’t matter.  You sat brushing your hair at your beautiful vanity for the tenth time that day.  It wasn’t because you needed it, you were the goddess of beauty/love so it was more out of habit than necessity.  You enjoyed the routine and it gave you an excuse to not socialize as much.  They thought you were self-serving and didn’t have a mind of your own, so what did it matter anyway?  The only one who seemed to know the untruth was your friend Athena.  She was used to being strong and showing everyone her place among the gods as a wise ruler so you enjoyed spending time with her.  She was someone to look up to and motivated you to stick up for yourself.  They would never fully accept you, but that doesn’t mean you needed to stop trying to show them there was more to you than a pretty face.
“Are you really brushing your hair again?  You know you are just going to pin it up somehow anyway.”  Athena had said while walking in, without knocking as was her way, and sat on your bed.
“I am the goddess of beauty, and the only one who can give Narcissus a run for his money with a mirror, or haven’t you heard?”  You retorted back.
“Whatever”  Athena rolled her eyes.  “‘Dite, you can do whatever you want, not just what they say you have to, but if you do it cause you love it then that’s different”
“Thanks, ‘Thena, I can’t change what I am, I love it but there is more to me than that”
“Ares seems to like what he sees”  She wiggled her eyebrows.
“So it seems”  was all you said.  You knew it would bother her to not get a real response.
“So you are trying to be difficult?  Come on, spill the details, what is going on there?”  She sat up slightly.
You sighed.  “He is full of passion, and strong, and seems decent but there is no substance.  He talks about war, and violence like he can’t get enough of it, especially with the mortal war going on right now, but he can’t talk about anything but.”  You wrinkled your nose.
“There is nothing wrong with talking about war and politics”  Athena responded indignantly.  You knew she was the goddess of strategic war so you quickly responded.
“Of course not, but you and I both know he isn’t the god of strategy, just the chaos behind war.”  That seemed to appease her.
“Well you will have to choose someone eventually, the gods are falling over themselves to win your favor.”
“They just want a pretty face, why can’t I just choose you?”  You smiled seductively at her.  She laughed.
“If only I wasn’t destined to remain single and happy about it forever”  She responded dramatically.
“You and Hecate both.  Can I join the duo?  Seems a much more agreeable alternative.”
“No, that would never happen, no one would allow it, they wouldn’t even think of it as a possibility given who you are.”  She said it kindly, but seriously.  You knew she was right.  You were the goddess of beauty and love, how could you stay single?  You were often given more credit for relationships than Hera, who was the goddess of marriage.  And that didn’t please the queen of the gods.  Not a good idea to piss her off, so you did your best to avoid her in the most respectful way possible.
“Maybe I will meet the love of my life tonight”  You mused.  Zeus was throwing yet another party, the reason being this time was for fall harvest.  Demeter would be on display, being a goddess of harvest and Zeus, to get a leg up on his power struggle with his sister, insisted she bring her daughter who she has been doing her best to keep out of the Olympus limelight; and having succeeded thus far but Zeus managed to find a loophole, according to Athena.  She wasn’t one for gossip, but she knew what was going on having spent a lot of her time with her father who talks of little else but drama.
“Maybe you will.  You have met almost all the gods, nymphs and any other godlike being on Olympus, but sure, take another look.”  your friend responded sarcastically.
“Hey, you are the one who said I would have to choose soon otherwise I’d start a riot”  You retorted.
“That’s true.  I think father is going to talk to you about it at some point, I thought you should know”  You turned to look at her with a surprised face. You knew it was inevitable but weren’t prepared for it to arrive.  She walked over and put her hand on your shoulder then turned to go.
“You know, I could always do your hair, or something so you can look your best.”  You half-teased.
“I always look my best”  She winked and walked out of the door.  You loved your friend from who you were so different from.  At least you would have her tonight, even if everything else went wrong.

- Drunk Chimney is the best Chimney, full stop. “SO MUCH BETRAYAL!”, he shouts. They have receipts. They’re mad because they LOVE Teppanyaki. This entire scene of Karen and Chim hanging out is pure gold. “Did you use her finger to unlock the phone while she was sleeping?” We love a fun callback.

- Buck was having a good time this episode. That’s it. That’s the note.
- Say you had a nice dinner planned with Chimney, and you invited your wife. Obviously he would then invite his girlfriend, right? And she might bring her brother, who would bring... Eddie? *checks notes* Yeah, it says right here, he would bring Eddie. *speaks into headset* Yeah sorry, writer’s room? I’m gonna need a check on .. *shuffles paper* “Were we supposed to reveal that Buck and Eddie are dating in 3x17?” Can someone get back to me on this?
- Ok I called Hen becoming a doctor and leaving the 118 last episode, but I’m not happy about it. Especially not if we get a “female firefighter love interest for Buck or Eddie (or worse, both of them, making them rivals) that replaces Hen” out of it. I’m hoping that something big will happen in the finale/ 4x1 that will make her realize she’s right where she’s supposed to be after all.
Tumblr media
- Bobby just all around being a great dad, step dad, new husband to your ex wife, captain dad, knower of things, keeper of the calm, destroyer of fireplaces, electrician, buddie stan.
- We 👏 all 👏 deserve 👏 more 👏 Karen. Seriously she is so under-used, I would love more scenes where the whole firefam is together and maybe they’re getting drunk and Karen is there and maybe Buck and Eddie get *real* drunk if ya catch my very obvious drift.
- (I want Buddie to have a drunk kiss in the hallway and then be awkward about it for a few episodes before they get their shit together)
Tumblr media
- Buck.... basically doing parkour to jump in that hot air balloon, looking like a snack? Shouting “I got it”? With that ass? In those pants? YES YOU DO GOT IT BABY.
Tumblr media
- Eddie wondering about Buck’s knowledge of hot air balloon emergencies? Bobby being so proud of his boys? This whole scene gave us so much.
- I’m so happy for Michael maybe getting a new love interest? That doctor can get it. He better not die before any getting can be got.
- Ok for some reason I was convinced for a second that Abby and Maddie knew each other but they don’t and I’m SO here for the “Eddie and Maddie meet Abby” awkward-athon next episode.
- They all talk to Frank, but who does Frank talk to?
- This whole episode promo was so misleading, hate when they do that.
Tumblr media
- They had LITERAL sparks flying at Buck and Eddie during the tree “murderer” rescue. Now we know they enjoy a good metaphorical water penis but this scene was 👌👌🤡🤡
Tumblr media
- Love the Grant family. I wasn’t really ever worried over Athena because they showed that scene of her being beat up but obviously alive, so we knew, but please, WHY does she insist on going into these places by herself? Just wait for some backup, girl, it’s allowed to have backup. You know how Eddie and Buck always work together to support each other? You could use some of that energy, queen. Petition to get Athena a patrol buddie in season 4.
Tumblr media
- Ok here’s an addendum: Thank you @bicepsie for pointing this out, I went back and checked and it is Eddie who gives Buck the axe when they’re all going to find/help Athena. WE STAN HUSBANDS WHO WORK THIS WELL TOGETHER. Please observe and find a work buddie to help you go into situations like this accordingly, Athena.
- Can we get a compilation of Buck running into danger shouting “I got this”? I might have to make this gifset.
- May looking beautiful and serving such beautiful vibes. They did such a good job with her I just want to recite “Oh The Places You’ll Go” to her?? I’m so proud of her.
- Karen and Hen are relationship!goals, minus, you know, that whole one time that she cheated thing.
Tumblr media
- Chim and Maddie make me want to be in a relationship so bad. Anyone else have this problem? The way they’re always kind of teasing each other but then supporting each other.. it’s just.. *chokes up*
- We even got some good Josh Russo content in this one. Man we were SPOILED. Josh honey go do whatever feels right for you. I think since we know that the actor is coming back, he’ll probably go and do the impact statement, but I just want him to feel safe and loved and ready to start dating someone who appreciates him.
3x18 Promo thoughts:
- The whole Abby storyline is looking like it will be 🔥
Tumblr media
- Abby is worried about her fiancé, SHE HAS TO FIND HIM. You know, like how Buck had to find Eddie that one time?
- Eddie doesn’t like Abby (just look at our emotionally unavailable guy being all: what’s happening? sad face) and I will need ALL the fanfiction on the “Eddie’s being a jealous asshole and Buck doesn’t understand why and Eddie also doesn’t understand why because she has a fiancé and also, he’s not into Buck like that what are you talking about” situation
- That scene between Maddie and Chimney really looks like they just found out she’s pregnant, y’all. I can’t wait for Uncle Buck 😍
Also as always PLEASE let me know if you agree/disagree literally I read all comments/tags and I love it when people shout at me in messages 😻

Queen of Hades
Hades! Shouta Aizawa x Persephone! Fem! Reader
***18+ Fic***
If you are not 18 years or older, please refrain from reading any further. Thank you.
Warnings: TW: Incest, kidnapping, stockholm-ish, slow-burn ish, smut, praise kink and body worship if you squint, possessive during smexy time, overstimulation, squirting, dacryphilia, masturbation (not super descriptive tho), unprotected sex (pretty obvious but I’m putting it here anyway), creampie, aftercare, tiny bit of angst at the end but not too bad.
Word Count: 9.7k (Holy shit)
Author’s Note: *kinda long note here, you don’t really have to read it if you don’t want to*
Ohhhkaaaayyyyyy so this took a lot out of me. This is my longest fic so far, and honeslty I’m kinda proud of it. I’ve always been a sucker for Greek mythology, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Hades because he’s so sorely portrayed as a villain in mainstream media. He’s really not as bad as movies like Percy Jackson and Hercules make him out to be. Nothing in the mythology suggests that Persephone was unhappy, so I took it a ran with it. I also drew a bit of inspiration from Lore Olympus on WebToon (iykyk) for the parts regarding Demeter’s parenting.
The only three characters I really referenced to mha besides Aizawa is Hizashi Yamada (Hermes), Momo Yaoyorozu (Aphrodite), and Bakugo Katsuki (Ares). I went with Momo for Aphrodite solely because she seems like the only one Bakugo would willingly listen to since she’s on par with him at least in intelligence. I made Bakugo Ares because he’s the god of war, and tends to get angry easily. Their temperaments are similar, except for the fact that Ares can be pretty cowardly (sorry not sorry Ares).
Anyway, enjoy~

The god sat on his throne, contemplating his lonely existence for what felt like the hundredth time. It may have been, considering he is immortal. At one time, he’d never given loneliness a second thought. He didn’t mind being this way. His job was important, even if melancholy, and he took it very seriously. Keeping Cerberus tame and entertained was probably the most difficult part, physically. The three-headed dog sat at the entrance to the underworld, guarding at all times to ensure any and all souls that passed through could never escape. And Hades simply ruled over this plane of existence, ensuring nothing was out of order and those kept in the depths of Tartarus remained there.
However, in the last couple centuries the raven-haired god had been plagued with longing for someone to share his existence with. He no longer wanted to be alone. He craved someone to spend his time with, someone to think about and experience what mortals and gods alike called love. He wanted a queen. With the time he had on his hands, he prepared himself to scour the mortal realm as well as Olympus, to search under the invisibility his helm allowed him. Soon he was walking the realms, invisible to all creatures, observing, searching for his queen.
____
Being the daughter of Demeter wasn’t easy. The goddess hovered over you, making sure you were doing your duties properly as the goddess of vegetation. Being a goddess yourself was only made difficult by your mother. She needed perfection. You worked diligently to hone your powers, urging plantlife to grow to your will and learning about the time before the gods. You spent every day under her guidance, until she was finally satisfied with your performance. She’d finally stopped pushing you about a century ago, now simply watching with no commentary or instructions.
Today was finally the day you’d be able to have time completely alone outside your quarters. You wandered, stopping in a beautiful meadow. The sight made your heart swell with joy. Lush, soft grass stretched as far as you could see, flowers of all colors blanketing the area. From bright, vibrant sunshine yellow to deep cerulean and mulberry. Some of the lone flowers stood tall enough to touch your hips as you floated through the greenery. It was serene, peaceful. Your chest felt light, finally you were free from your mother’s harsh gaze to relax, all alone.
As you finally decided you’d return, you thought of the beauty of the area. It didn’t take long for you to find a few choice blooms to pick and carefully pluck them from the ground. Keeping them alive would be effortless from your amount of training. You’d keep them in your chambers, a memory of the feelings you experienced here. Satisfied with your choices, you took a final glance around you and began your return.
You only made it a few steps when suddenly the ground began to quake. Only a horse’s length from your feet, you watched wide-eyed as the ground split open to a huge chasm, chunks of earth tumbling into the void. A golden chariot pulled by four beautiful black stallions emerged from the fissure, pulling to an abrupt halt next to you. A raven-haired man stood proud in the chariot, one hand extended out toward you. His face showed no emotions, his dark obsidian eyes tired and sad, a scar curved under his right eye and light scruff adorning his chiseled jaw.
You shrunk away from his hand, unsure of his identity or the reason for such a surprise visit. “Who are you?” you ask warily, your eyes narrowing slightly. “I am Hades, god of death and wealth. Your mother would know me as Aidoneus.” Your eyes widened in shock. No wonder you didn’t know who this is. Hades rarely left the Underworld, and hasn’t in the past thousand or so years according to what you’d heard from your mother. Why was he here of all places? Sensing your apprehension, he reached out for you once more.
“Please, my sweet, come with me to the Underworld.” Your eyebrows scrunched in confusion. You weren’t entirely sure why the god of death wanted you, but you didn’t want to find out. Shaking your head, you took a few tentative steps backward. “I...don’t want to go with you…” The idea of abandoning your duties was absurd. You were a goddess, and your mother would be absolutely furious if she found out you’d gone with Hades and vanished to the underworld. Not to mention how your family might feel about your sudden disappearance.
A loud cry of your name had you snapping your head toward the source. A beautiful woman donning golden armor wielding a spear was sprinting toward you, her brown curls pulled tight into a woven plait down her back. “Athena!” You called to her as you began to run, but you were lifted off your feet before you could take a second step. In a blur of motion you found yourself in Hades’ golden chariot, a strong arm around your waist holding you tight to the god’s side. He peered down at you with those deep dark eyes as the chariot descended into the chasm.
“I am sorry, my love. But coming with me was never your choice to make.” You looked upward, watching as the earth closed above you. Panicked, you struggled in Hades’ grasp, but he was too strong for you to escape. “Please, don’t fight me.” You shot the god a glare that could kill, tears streaming down your face. “I never asked to be taken! Why? Why have you stolen me away?” A heaved sigh escaped his lips. “I will explain, my love, but for now,” he brings his other hand up and taps your forehead with two fingers, “Sleep.” Your eyelids droop, and your consciousness fades to black.
____
He had hoped you’d come with him willingly. Of course, he knew the chances of that happening were rather slim. Confiding in Zeus about his newfound feelings for you may have been a bad idea for him, considering he was the one to come up with this ridiculous plan. The god of the sky was supposed to be distracting most of the other gods and goddesses with a meeting, though it isn’t a surprise that Athena had managed to slip away. He was rather lucky to have been able to escape Athena without direct confrontation. He may be a powerful god, but Athena was the goddess of war strategy and wisdom. She could probably fight Zeus himself and find a way to come out victorious.
But now, as he gaze down at your sleeping form in his bed, he can’t help but feel it was worth the trouble. You were absolutely gorgeous, a beauty to rival Aphrodite, though he’d never say it aloud for fear of the woman’s jealous revenge. He watched the rise and fall of your chest, the way your lips parted ever so slightly with your breath. He wants so badly to kiss you, to hold you and cherish you, to worship you the way you should be. But he wants you to accept him and love him of your own accord. He’d made that decision from the first time he laid eyes on you. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead before leaving you to rest.
____
It felt like you hadn’t even been asleep for a second, like you had only just closed your eyes. But you definitely weren’t in the chariot anymore, and Hades was nowhere to be seen. Sitting up, you took in your surroundings. You lay on a large bed covered in fine pelts and furs on the wall furthest from the door. The room itself is large enough to fit at least three chariots and room to spare. Cool blue floated around the room, candles inset in the walls lit with cerulean fire, emitting a soft glow and shadows dancing in the light. The room was relatively empty, save for the armor on the wall along with a two-pronged scepter and a helm. There was no question in your mind where you were.
The large wooden door creaked as it opened, the King of the Underworld himself standing in the doorway. You glared as he made his way over to you and sat on the edge of the bed. “Why am I here, Hades?” You absolutely meant for the edge to come through in your voice, letting out your aggression in the most passive way possible. You hoped the tinge of fear you felt hadn’t shown through as well. As much as you didn’t like being taken against your will and hated Hades for it, you didn’t want to get into a fight with the god of death.
“Please, my name is Shouta. The mortals call me Hades. And you’re here because I’ve fallen in love with you, sweet goddess.” His voice was gentle, apologetic even. “The kidnapping was Zeus’s idea. I only went along with it because I knew my sister would never let me have you if I asked. I know how she is with her children.” You gave a small huff and pulled your knees into your chest, eyes still on the god. “Talking to me first was always an option, you know.” His shoulders shook as he chuckled. “My apologies. I should have talked to you first.”
Apprehensively, you asked the question you were sure you already knew the answer to. You tore your eyes away from him, suddenly the furs underneath you were the most interesting thing in the world. “When can I go back?” His hand appeared in front of you, and you didn’t flinch or move away as his calloused palm cupped your face gently, making you look up into his dark eyes. “I’m sorry, my love. But I can’t let you return yet.” You gave a small nod, and he pulled his hand from your face as he stood. “Walk with me?”
His eyes were hopeful, waiting for the answer he wanted. If you declined, would he force you to go with him anyway? You squeezed your knees further into you, giving an indirect ‘no’ to test his reaction. He let out a small sigh, “I see. If you need anything, you can call for me.” He moved to walk out of the room, not halfway to the door when you stopped him. “Actually...um...I think a walk would be okay.” Slowly, you got up and walked over to him, and he gave a small smile before leading you out of the room.
The underworld was nothing like you thought it would be.
Hades - or rather, Shouta - led you on a tour of all three realms of the Underworld on the boat steered by Charon, the ferryman that delivered souls to the three parts of the Underworld. The Elysian Fields were gorgeous, mirroring daytime in the mortal realm with lush greenery and bright sunshine. This part was reserved for the mortals that were exceptionally heroic in their lifetime. Good people who lived lives giving to the people that needed it with no expectation to be repaid. All the souls here were happy, either playing or relaxing with each other in this afterlife.
The next part was the Asphodel Fields. This realm was darker, stuck in a deep limbo but beautiful all the same. A bright full moon sat high in the sky, the ground littered with luminous teal crystals. These souls were shadows of themselves, normal mortals that made mistakes and loved and lived their lives as best they could. They now live a mirrored life here, as a shadowed version of themselves. It was not a sad existence, but one that the mortal souls could be satisfied with.
As you rode the boat with Shouta on the river Phlegethon toward Tartarus, your body began to shake and your breath shallowed. You could feel the foul energy seeping into the air the closer you got. This was where the worst of the worst were kept prisoner. This realm locked a wicked soul in a loop of punishment and suffering. He looked down at you and wrapped an arm securely around your waist, and you peered up into his black orbs. “Tartarus is not a place I enjoy taking you, but I do intend on making you my Queen. You will need to see it even from a distance. I promise, you are safe.”
With a nod, he turns his attention back toward the bow. The closer you got to Tartarus, the more you began to feel fear. Despite the river of fire and the heat pouring from the banks, your body shook. The sheer bloodlust, anger, resentment, and malice pouring from the shoreline was enough to make your heart race. You may be a goddess, but you are young and weak compared to the god next to you. You feel yourself pressing into Shouta more as you float past the shore. The sights before you are horrific, if only because of the souls that are there.
You’d learned about the war between the gods and the titans early on in your life, and now here you were seeing the titans for yourself. They were enormous. Even on their knees, bound in chains thicker than the largest tree trunk, made from Adamantine the metal of the gods, they towered like mountains. They were monstrous, some with more heads than you could count, some with extra limbs, some with animalistic traits and some purely demonic. The sound of the chains rattling rang through the entire realm as a few lunged out toward the boat, only to be stopped short by the chains.
You jumped several times, fear consuming you. Shouta held you close, his arm tight around your shoulders as you clung to him. Confidence and power radiated off his form as he raised his other arm, the chains around the titans tightening and drawing into the ground with a flick of his wrist. He leaned down and whispered into your ear. “You are safe, my love. They cannot hurt you.” You calmed a bit with Shouta next to you, securing you to him and keeping you safe.
The ferry floated along and soon you were out of the realm of Tartarus, back at the palace grounds that the god lived in. The building was beautiful, built like the temples the mortals built for the gods. However, the stone it was made from was not white but black, polished to a beautiful shine that reflected the cool blue glow from the misty realm. This area was not in any of the three parts of the afterlife. It was the god of death’s personal realm.
The large temple sat high on a rocky hill, a staircase carved into the cliff face that led down to the five rivers that course through the underworld, all of them parallel each other until they branched off. The realm itself was magical in its own right. It seemed to be an enormous cave, huge stalactites hung from the ceiling, which was shrouded in deep blue mist that sparkled and mimicked the night sky. It was so high even the largest and lowest stalactites hung miles above the ground. The ground was all black earth, void of vegetation but full of life all the same, the scent of upturned earth and rain filling your senses.
You ogled at the beauty of it all, despite the darkness. You hadn’t taken the time to observe before the tour, but now that you could you almost didn’t want to look away. You felt the warmth of Shouta’s body as he pressed against your back, a hand gently taking your chin and directing your head up to look at the misty abyss. “Would you like to know what sparkles through the mist?” You gave a small nod. Though the mist was thick, there was something sparkling from far above it that made up the constellations in the sky of the mortal realm.
He stretched an arm out, palm up as if to catch something. The star you recognised as Polaris shone brightly then faded, and the glimmering speck fell from the fog, landing square in Shouta’s palm. It was a large gem, sparkling against the darkness. You traced your fingers along its ragged edges, and it floated back up to its place when you dropped your hand. It was then you remembered that Hades was not only the god of death. He was the god of wealth, of earthly riches, precious gems and metals that mortals sought to obtain.
Shouta’s voice was smooth and deep in your ear, his body still pressed up to yours. “Let us go inside, my love. It is time to rest. Tomorrow, I will take you to see Cerberus.” You let your body relax into him, relishing in the safety of his embrace. Giving a small nod, you let the raven-haired god guide you into the palace. He led you to a hot spring in the back of the palace, the large steaming pool set deep in the ground and illuminated by blue flame candles. He left you alone to bathe, and you relaxed into the water as you reflected on the recent developments.
Despite kidnapping you, the god clearly harbors no ill intentions toward you. He’d even revealed that the whole thing was, in fact, your father’s idea. He’s kind, sweet, nothing like the angry and cruel god the mortals seem to fear. And he radiates power, his strength clear even when he first appeared to you in the field. He suppresses his overwhelming prowess around you, you’d realised. It became clear just how powerful a god he is when he took you through Tartarus. As powerful as he is he’s gentle toward you, compassionate and caring, dare you say loving. He did claim to have fallen in love with you.
Still, you had duties as a goddess, though your mother was more than capable of handling it on her own. The only reason you had duties is because you are the daughter of gods. You wondered briefly what she was thinking right now, if she knew you were gone, if Athena had informed her of your current placement. You would have to wait to find out. Until then, you would enjoy your time here. The Underworld is beautiful, and mostly peaceful, disregarding Tartarus. If Shouta means to make you his Queen, maybe you could learn to love the man as you’ve come to love the realm he rules.
And of course, the god himself was rather handsome. His deep obsidian eyes held eons of emotion. Strength, power, loneliness and longing. And when he looked at you, you could tell he was sure he loved you, his eyes full of pure adoration. His long raven locks framed his face perfectly, the onyx crown he wore nearly invisible in his dark tresses. His jawline was strong, sharp, his ivory skin seemingly glowing blue in the atmosphere of the Underworld. The robes he wore hung loose around his frame, but it wasn’t hard to tell his body was strong and well built. He was a god, after all. You’d be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t want to see him in all his glory.
You finished your bath and fell asleep in the same bed as the god, your backs to each other and plenty of room between you. You only knew him for a single day, but you trusted him with your immortal life. When you woke up, Shouta took you to see Cerberus like he said he would. The dog sat proud just inside the entrance, the gate closer to resembling a cave entrance than an actual gate. Cerberus had his own wide perch above the ground to look down and watch the entrance closely, his job as gatekeeper being taken just as seriously as Shouta took his job as king of the Underworld.
Reaching the river bank, Shouta stepped out and held his hand out to you, helping you out of the riverboat after him. Soon the two of you were approaching the three-headed beast, and the closer you got the more you understood just how large Cerberus is. Sitting on his haunches, his shoulders towered far above your head. You’d have to climb up onto his back to reach his three heads. As the two of you approached, the hound turned his heads and bowed low, muzzles nearly in the dirt with a low growl emanating from him.
Shouta, with a hand at the small of your back, walked up to the beast and placed a hand on the middle head, slowly petting up and down in between his eyes. You could hear the whoosh of his large tail behind him. He may be the guard dog to the Underworld, but he was still a dog, you supposed. “Hello, old friend. Meet your future Queen.” The head closest to you lifted, a large huff blowing in your face from his snout, before his nose twitched as he sniffed at your hair and face. You giggled, the air tickling your neck and face, as you reached up and held the large head in your hands and kissed above his nose.
“Such a sweet boy, aren’t you?” The hound’s tail swished harder and one of his front paws tapped against the ground, his body almost dancing at the praise and attention. Mindlessly, you let your hand pet at his fur as you observed the other two heads. Each one seemed to have a different personality. The one you were giving attention to was happy and jumpy, constantly sniffing and licking you. The one in the center was calm and collected, stoic even, eyes trained on the entrance as Shouta pet it. The furthest from you seemed angry, a low growl a near constant as his gaze was focused on the cave entrance.
“Show her a little respect won’t you? It won’t kill you.” The angry head huffed before turning its gaze to you, giving a short bow, and with a snarl turning his attention back to the entrance. As interesting as guarding the gate seems, the only one that actually entered through the gate was Hermes. You watched as the god zoomed in and out, delivering souls to the dock, sending those who could pay off with Charon as he rowed them to their respective placements. You doubted any soul would be able to leave. They’d be spotted and caught easily, if Cerberus had anything to say about it.
Several months passed while you were down in the Underworld, staying by Shouta’s side through whatever he needed to do. No matter how many times you travelled through the underworld with Shouta, you never got enough of the beauty of it all. Sometimes he’d take you through the Asphodel Fields, deep into the crystal forests.  He walked with you through the fields with a warm hand at the small of your back, gently guiding you where you had yet to roam. The longer you stayed, the more you found yourself wanting to be around the god.
Any time he needed to visit Tartarus, you’d join him, and he’d keep you tucked into his side the whole time. You felt safe in his hands. Lately you’d been cuddling closer to him at night, longing for his embrace. His rather thick arms would curl around your waist and shoulders, pulling you tight to his chest. You'd wake up to the god’s deep obsidian eyes on your face, his gaze soft as he told you how beautiful you are or how thankful he was that he could wake up next to you. He’d leave soft kisses on your forehead and cheeks, thick fingers rolling shapes into your skin.
It was those little intimate moments that had you falling, very possibly in love, with the King of the Underworld. When he’d run his hands down your arms and whisper his affections. When he’d teach you about the workings of the Underworld while you pet Cerberus’s head. In the bath when he’d wash you after a long day, never advancing further than a chaste kiss to your shoulder and neck. The lingering, longing, loving gaze he set on you while you rode the riverboat to the different realms. In no time at all you’d realized you’re happy here.
Now, you both stood at the gate with Cerberus once again. One head was nuzzling up against you, the other two focused on the entrance as you and Shouta pet the happy dog. You’d learned that while the center wasn’t averse to physical touch, he preferred to be left alone. The angry one had become less growly and aggressive toward you, which you supposed was progress. Though you were sure if you ever attempted to leave the Underworld, Cerberus would stop you regardless. Not that you wanted to leave.
A whoosh of wind rushed past you and suddenly Hermes was standing on the other side of Shouta, a wide grin plastered on his face as he leaned on the god’s shoulder. “What’s up, Sho?” His hypnotic green eyes wandered over to you and his eyebrows raised as his grin widened. “So this is miss Persephone, is it?” He held a hand out for you to shake. “It’s good to meet you.” Tentatively, you reached out and took his hand, shaking it before you asked the question burning in your mind.
“Sorry, but why did you just call me Persephone?” A moment of realization hit the blonde. “OH! Yeah, you’ve been called Persephone by the mortals, as well as the rest of Olympus. The Bringer of Destruction. Fitting for the Queen of the Underworld, isn’t it?” Your breath quickened and eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “Why would they call me that? I haven’t done anything!” Shouta narrowed his eyes at the god. “Hizashi, what’s this about?” He leaned away with his hands up in mock surrender.
“Hey, it wasn’t me. When Demeter found out her daughter was missing she abandoned her duties up in Olympus. The mortal realm has slowly been changing ever since she left, slowly becoming cold and barren. It’s not pretty. Your other siblings are trying their best to uphold Demeter’s abandoned chores but...they aren’t their mother.” Shouta slipped an arm over your shoulder, tucking you into his side, and you clung to him in your increasingly distressed state, relishing in the safety his arms often held for you. The two gods talked as you tried to ground yourself.
“How much does Demeter know?” A high-pitched hum rang from the blonde. “Well Zeus, Athena and I are the only ones who know you took her. I believe Hestia, Hera, and Poseidon know she’s here but not how she got here, and the rest just don’t know anything. Zeus made Athena swear not to say anything, but considering she’s his favorite it may be only a matter of time before she confesses to Demeter with no repercussions. There’s also a possibility Aphrodite and Eros know for reasons that should be obvious to you.”
While they spoke your mind was reeling. You never thought anything of your mother’s hovering, but she’d abandoned her duties up in Olympus just because you’d vanished. What did that even mean? And now that the mortal realm was suffering, would you be punished for it? Would you be blamed for your mother’s absence?
____
“Do I have to go back to Olympus?” Shouta could hear the slight panic and sadness in your voice, and it made his grip around you just a bit tighter. Both their eyes flicked over to you, Shouta’s gaze soft and concerned. Hermes - Hizashi - gave a kind smile. “So far, nothing’s been decided. Zeus is pretty adamant about keeping this whole thing discreet, so for now you can stay here with Sho.” You seemed to relax in his arms, but Shouta could tell you were still stressed about the whole situation.
“Thanks ‘Zashi.” The blonde nodded, then zipped away and returned to his duties as the messenger god. Shouta looked back down at you and he could see the tension in your face. Eyebrows slightly scrunched, bottom lip pulled between your teeth as you chewed on it, crossed arms and hands clutching your biceps. He’d almost call it adorable if he couldn’t feel just how stressed you were, leaning your body into him like a cat seeking shelter from the rain. His arm slipped down to your waist as he guided you back to the ferry.
It didn’t take long for the both of you to be back at the temple. He sat you on the bed then kneeled in front of you, rough hands gently holding your own, calloused thumbs massaging circles into your skin. “My love, you are upset.” He watched and listened as you poured out your worries, all of them fears of whether or not the mortal realm would survive, if you were to be punished for your mother’s actions, if your mother would punish you herself for disappearing. He reassured you that he wouldn’t let anyone punish you for anything, that he’d protect you with his life.
He had already vowed to himself never to let anything happen to his precious Queen. He is not a violent god, but he would hunt down any soul that dared so much as a wrong thought about you, vowing that there would be hell to pay. If he ever let something happen to you, he swore he’d never leave the Underworld again, and instead trap himself in Tartarus indefinitely. Eventually, he would express his devotion to you, his undying love and loyalty, but for now all you needed to know was that you were safe with him.
His heart nearly skipped a beat when your eyes filled with tears, voice breaking as you cried about not wanting to leave the Underworld, not wanting to leave his side. You’d grown to love the realm for all it had, as well as the man who ruled over it. He knew as well as you did that you would eventually have to return to Olympus, and there was no guarantee you would ever come back. Well, there was one, but he would never suggest it to you for it was almost cruel. It kept you connected to this realm, like a chain to an anchor.
But then you had to go and ask.
____
You could see the turmoil behind his dark irises. He was thinking, and thinking hard. “Sho...is there any way for me to come back?” His jaw clenched, something you’d come to recognize as a signal of stress for the god of death. “What do you mean, love? You could return any time you like.” You squeezed his hands, willing him to listen. “I mean permanently, Shouta. If somehow my mother refuses to let me return, is there a way to tie me to you? To make sure I need to return no matter what?”
His usually calm features twisted in surprise, eyes wide and jaw clenched tight, his hands gripping your own. But the shock only lasted a moment before he was relaxing again. “My love, there is a way. But it is not kind to you, to force you to return here.” The sadness at that statement was clear in his eyes. He didn’t want to think of it, but the possibility for you to never want to return to him was there. Your eyebrows furrowed deeply and you ripped your hands away from his, planting your palms on either side of his face and forcing him to look deep into your eyes.
“I want to return here, Shouta, to you. Look into my soul and tell me I’m lying to you.” His dark onyx stared into you, and you stared back. He would know your sincerity, whether he wanted to or not. He had to know how much you truly cared, how far you’d fallen since that day in the meadow when he scooped you up into his golden chariot. You had to make him know. He didn’t protest when you began to pull him closer, leaning in until your lips ghosted over each other.
You’d never been this close before. He never advanced on you, never made you uncomfortable, never forced anything on you. He refused to force even the smallest things on you, like placing a hand on your waist or your shoulder, always asking permission and making sure you were okay first and foremost. Maybe it was just because of how gentle he is with you, or the fact that he’s the sweetest deity you’d met. Maybe it was the work of Eros. But you were no doubt in love with Shouta.
When your lips connected it was like a wave of heat crawled over your body, a spark igniting flame that rolled through your veins. You fit perfectly together, molding to each other in a sweet, passionate kiss. His own hands found purchase on your waist and neck, gentle caresses holding you close. Finally pulling away, you were both breathless, sucking in air through shuddered breaths and adrenaline. His voice came through heavy and thick with swirling emotions. “There is a way to keep you here, but will you wait and think about the decision before it is made?”
You knew what he was doing. He was preparing himself for what, in his mind, is an inevitable rejection from you. You also understood that he was taking you greatly into consideration, thinking about you and your happiness first. And that’s why you knew you loved him. Because you cared about him before yourself. Loving each other more than yourselves was something you shared. “Tell me now, my King, and I promise I’ll think about it.”
He sighed, but you couldn’t tell if it was from relief, sadness, or stress. Regardless, he explained to you the magic of the Underworld, and that if you were to eat a pomegranate seed from the realm you’d be compelled to return, whether you wanted to or not. You gave a nod and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. “Thank you, Shouta. I will think about it. And you’ll know my answer when it comes time for me to return to Olympus.” He nodded, clearly grateful that you’d heed his words. However you fully intended to eat a seed when asked to return to Olympus. You had already made up your mind, and nothing could change it.
____
Waking up every day to see your face was a blessing for the god of death. He loved that you’d become comfortable with him, that you curled into his side while you slept. He adored your half-lidded, sleepy eyes when you first woke up in the morning. He adored your mussed hair before you combed it out and pulled it into a loose braid down your shoulder. Everything you did made him adore you even more, everything about you was the most beautiful thing to him.
He loved all of you, all that you did and said, every little detail of your existence. And he made sure you knew, whispering sweet nothings as he held you in bed, praising your beauty while he bathed with you. Every morning he watched your gorgeous eyes flutter open and made known his gratitude for being able to hold you so close. You never said much yourself, but he’d never have it any different. Your movements were enough for him. He lived for the little gestures and physical touches. The way you’d cling to him while you were out, how you’d hug him close at night. How you’d lean into his chest while you bathed together, or run your fingers through his hair when you relax in bed.
But he hated what you did to him, when you’d get close and squish your body up against him, when he felt your soft skin under his rough palms. He hated the feelings being with you unlocked, the filthiest parts of his mind coming to light. He wanted to ruin you in the best way, to make you his forever. He wants to worship every inch of you, and watch as you unravel beneath him. Late at night while you were fast asleep he’d gaze at your body, eating up every bit of exposed skin and letting his imagination run rampant. Tears falling down your face from pure overwhelming pleasure, sweet sounds pouring from your kiss-swollen lips, legs quivering and fingers clawing at the bed beneath you.
Tonight was no different as his eyes raked over your slumbering form. He could feel himself hardening just at the sight of you, and it drove him insane. He was slightly disappointed in himself for allowing something like lust to affect him so heavily. But it did, and he had to take care of it.
____
You were only half awake when you heard a soft curse and felt Shouta shift in bed behind you. When you rolled over to curl into him, you confirmed he wasn’t there and it woke you up rather quickly. Still a tiny bit groggy, you got up and went to search for him through the temple. Really, there weren’t very many places to search. It wasn’t long before you ended up outside the bathing room, but something stopped you before you stepped through the curtained entryway.
You could hear heaved breaths and soft curses from inside, the light slosh of water muffling a lot of the sounds. The sounds which were coming from none other than Shouta. You slowly pulled the curtain back, just barely, and peeked in. The sight before you made your thighs squeeze together and heat build in your stomach. The god was leaning on the edge of the small pool, head thrown back and his lower half below the water. It wasn’t hard to figure out what he was doing, with his hand submerged and the muscles in his arm flexing and pumping slowly.
You’d be lying if you denied how much you wanted him. You craved him in the worst way, wanted to touch his bare skin and feel the muscles in his back tense under your fingers. You wanted to see him lose himself and ravage you, to watch as he let his more primal instincts take over. The only problem you saw was how you would approach the subject, especially when your lustful feelings were becoming very hard to ignore. But now, you had just found the perfect opportunity.
Shouta’s back was mostly turned toward the curtains, so it wasn’t hard for you to slip into the room unnoticed. Silently, you padded up behind him and knelt. He was still pumping himself below the water, whispering filthy words and your name under heavy breaths. You reached out and grabbed his shoulders, making him jump, but you quickly shushed him. “It’s me, my King.” He froze, his entire body tensing and his shoulders rising with shuddered breaths.
“I-I’m sorry, my love...I-” You released your grasp and leaned over to look in his eyes, silencing him. “No, Shouta. Don’t be sorry. We may be deities but we are afflicted with emotion, same as any mortal.” Leaning down, you kissed and nipped below his jaw. “Come to bed, and we can help each other with those emotions.” He turned his head to you, brows slightly furrowed and concern laced in his voice. “You don’t have to help me, sweet girl. You shouldn’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, a small smirk tugging at your lips. “Did I not just say we’d help each other?” Surprise was evident on his face as he gazed up at you from the water. You leaned close to his face, lips just grazing each other, and stared deep into his eyes. “If I didn’t want to do it, I wouldn’t have offered.” Just as he pressed forward, you leaned back and stood, leaving the god shocked and wanting more. “I’ll be in bed, if you feel like joining me.” You swayed your hips a little more as you disappeared behind the curtains, a small tease to lure the god.
Back in the room, you stood at the foot of the bed, back to the door as you waited for him. You made it abundantly clear what you wanted, that you knew what you were asking for, and knew what you were offering. The door creaked open, and you could feel the heat of Shouta’s gaze on your body. He was on you nearly instantly as the door shut, his hands roaming your body and lips ghosting over your neck. His voice was raspy, heavy with lust and want. “Are you sure you want this?” You pushed your hips back into him, feeling his hardness through your thin robes.
A sighed ‘yes’ passed your lips, and it was all the confirmation the god needed. His hands came up and pulled the fabric off your body, the cloth wrapped around his waist following soon after. His thick fingers pinched and pulled at your body, relentless in their attack on your skin. His touch floated over you, sending electricity buzzing through you. Lust built like a wildfire, spreading and burning your blood as it coursed through your veins. You leaned back into him, pressing yourself against his strong body as he peered down yours and left kisses on your neck and shoulder. Your body felt impossibly hot, arousal pulling you deep into him as he traced your body with feather light touches.
Suddenly he grasped your hips tight, turning you and pushing you backward onto the bed. He stayed standing, and you both took a good look at each other for the first time. Yes, you often bathed together, but your back was always to his chest, and the lower halves of your body were submerged. He never touched you anywhere other than your back, shoulders and hair when he helped to wash you, and you never turned to look at him. But now, as you looked up, there was no doubt in your mind you were looking at a god.
He looked as if he was sculpted from marble, ivory skin pulled taut over chiseled muscles. Scars littered his body, discolored lines carved into his skin, each holding a story. Your breath hitched in your throat when your eyes landed on his cock. You may be a goddess, but if you weren’t prepared, he would undoubtedly destroy you. You felt more than heard the deep chuckle he let out, a devilish smirk set on his lips. “Don’t worry, little one. I won’t break you,” you lifted your eyes to meet his, “Yet.” You swallowed thickly, anticipation building in your chest. He climbs up and slots himself between your legs, leaning over you as his hair hangs in curtains around your face, drawing your eyes to the man above you.
“My love, you can tell me to stop any time.” The look in his eyes told you just how serious he was. He would do anything you asked of him without a second thought. You gave a nod and looped your hands around the back of his neck, pulling him down into a deep, sweet kiss. Your bodies pressed into each other, your skin burning against his as every cell in your body longed for his touch. Both your tongues poked out and melded together, tasting and savoring each other while his hands roamed down your body and your fingers massaged into his scalp.
When he finally pulled away you both panted, hot breaths fanning over each other’s face. One of his hands trailed down and gripped your thigh, fingers digging into your plush flesh as he ventured toward your heated core. He gathered the slick at the apex of your thighs, groaning at both how wet you had become and the little breathy moan you let out as he pushed a thick digit into your sopping folds. Soon he was adding a second, the burn quickly subsiding into pleasure as his thick fingers curled and scissored, stretching you and preparing you for his cock.
The pleasure was intense for you, never having experienced it like this before. In the 200 years of your life you’d never lain with a man, but there was nothing your mother could do to stop you from learning to pleasure yourself. She knew nothing about what you did alone in your chambers. But this was something different entirely. Shouta’s fingers reached deeper than yours could, stroking every sensitive spot inside you that you’d never known existed. Your legs shook as that familiar coil built in your abdomen, though much faster than you could build it on your own.
Shouta cooed praises into your ear, that knot beginning to fray the more he focused his attention on that gummy spot on your walls. His thumb slick with your juices reached up and rubbed at the little nub between your folds, and it only took a few tight circles for you to fall apart on his fingers with a moan. He drew out your orgasm, curling his fingers into you until you were choking on sobs from the overwhelming pleasure, your thighs trying to clamp down on his hand and nails digging crescent shapes into his wrist.
You whimpered as he pulled his fingers from you, moaning softly as you watched him suck your essence off his fingers with a lewd groan. He leaned down and pulled you into another heated kiss, and you could taste yourself on his lips. “Are you ready for me?” His breaths are heavy, hands gripping your hips tight, jaw set as he tries to compose himself. “Yes, my love. I’m ready.” He kisses you softly as he pushes into you slowly, swallowing up the little mewls dripping from your lips. One hand is rubbing at your swollen clit and the other toying with your breast to distract you from the stretch of his thick cock.
Your own hands are dragging down his back, trying to ground yourself as the god sank all the way into your cunt, stilling as he bottoms out completely. You’re both taking heaving breaths as your walls flutter, adjusting to him. Your legs are quaking and you mewl softly, tugging at his hair. “Please, Shouta, move.” He pulls his hips back and slowly thrusts back in, dragging the head of his cock along your sensitive walls deliciously. He starts a slow pace, languidly driving himself deep inside you. He leans down and kisses at your neck, the angle change making you throw your head back and moan.
You purposely clench down on him, and he bucks his hips up into you with a curse under his breath. His hands come back to your hips, fingers digging harshly into your skin as he growls. He pulls back until only the tip of his cock sits inside you, and snaps his hips forward, punching all the air from your lungs as he sets a brutal pace. Shouta doesn’t react as your nails claw furiously at his back, only yanks your body into him as the tip of his cock kisses your cervix with every thrust. Deep guttural growls and moans pour from his lips, the sound of wet skin slapping skin and the sweet, salty smell of sex permeating the room.
The little air you’re able to suck in is expelled in whines and sobs, fat tears streaming from your eyes as they roll back in your skull. Your mind was so far gone with pleasure, your entire body shivering and shaking as calloused fingers rub your clit, sending you head first into a powerful orgasm. His growls deepened as he kept himself from his own release, pounding into you with reckless abandon. His voice was raspy and breathless and one hand gripped your chin, tilting you to face him as he slowed his rutting. “That’s right, little goddess. Cry for your god, for your King. Tell me, who do you belong to?”
You took a moment to breathe through a sob, barely able to think with the overwhelming sensations. He was still thrusting his hips into you, slowly, dragging along your fluttering walls and gripping your face ever so slightly harder. “Answer me, sweet girl. Who do you belong to?” He punctuated the question with a sharp snap of his hips, stealing the air from your lungs before you gasped it back in. “You! I belong to you Shouta!” He’s pounding into you again, his hand moving to squeeze gently at your neck as he drives his cock deep into you over and over again.
“Yes, you’re mine. All mine forever. My goddess, my Queen, my wife, my love.” He lets out a loud moan, rubbing at your clit furiously. “Cum for me again, pretty thing. Cum.” Your entire body thrashes with the intensity of your orgasm, electricity jolting through you, your body answering Shouta’s command as if it knew you belonged to him, just as you both had said. You scream a moan as clear liquid splashes over his thighs and abdomen, and he fucks into you relentlessly as he chases his own release. With a long, low growl he shoves himself up against your cervix, pumping his thick seed into you and painting your insides white.
He keeps his cock buried deep inside you as he wraps his arms under your waist and rolls over onto his back, holding you tight to him as you lay boneless on his chest. You’re panting heavily, a sheen of sweat covering the both of you as he rubs his palms up and down your back. Fatigue tugs at your mind, your eyelids drooping as your breathing finally evens out. You feel Shouta shift your body with ease, pulling himself out of you with a hiss and lifting you into his arms.
You nuzzle into his chest as he walks, and soon you’re in the warm water of the bath, sitting on the submerged ledge between Shouta’s legs and leaning back into his chest. You can feel the water running down your arms as his hands cup and pour it over you. His rough hands are gentle as they run over your body, slowly cleaning you and massaging your aching muscles. You’re drifting in and out of consciousness, barely registering being carried once again before being laid down on the bed again. Shouta’s strong arms wrap around you, pulling you into his chest as you relax in his hold.
Barely conscious, you kiss his chest lightly, getting a kiss to your temple from the god. His deep voice is tired, but happy, gravelly from earlier. “I love you, (y/n).” You echo the sentiment, barely a whisper, and somewhere in your mind you wonder if he heard you. The question vanishes as quick as it had appeared, and you drift off to sleep.
*
***About 2 months later***
*
It was early, much earlier than you’d normally wake up, when someone showed up at the temple. You were in bed with Shouta, and he awoke at the presence of other gods. Yes, gods. The both of you went to see who it was that garnered his attention. Hizashi - Hermes - stood at the top of the staircase with another god and a goddess. You recognized both. The god with spiky blonde hair and eyes red as blood was Ares, god of war. The goddess had hair black as Shouta’s pulled high on the back of her head. The front of her red dress draped low, down to her navel, her shapely figure complimented by the soft fabric that was no doubt woven from silk. Aphrodite.
The three stood at attention as the two of you walked out, the three eyeing you with very different looks on their faces. Hizashi regarded you fondly, like old friends reconnecting. Ares was angry and guarded, as always, and Aphrodite had a glint in her eyes that you couldn’t quite discern. The ravenette turned to the god of war and nodded, and Ares visibly relaxed, no longer ready for a fight. Hizashi strolled over and leaned on Shouta’s shoulder again, a wide grin plastered on his face. “Hiya, Sho.” The blonde nodded his head at you. “(y/n).”
You smiled back at him, greeting him kindly before turning to the other two and giving a short bow. Aphrodite returned it, but Ares almost sneered. You weren’t really surprised.  “Why are you three here, Hizashi?” Shouta asked sternly. The blonde seemed to deflate slightly as he walked back over to the other two and stood with them before speaking. “Well, for one, Demeter knows now where her favorite daughter has disappeared to. Imagine her fury when she found out her own brother had stolen her away.” Shouta groaned, then huffed. “She’ll live.”
The blonde chuckled. “Probably. Zeus has ordered that Persephone, formerly known as Kore and given the name (y/n) by Demeter, return to Olympus indefinitely.” Your eyes widened in shock and time seemed to freeze at his words. Your heartbeat drowned out any other noise, panic swirling in your head. Indefinitely? That meant until your mother decided you could come back to Hades, and you knew the answer would be never. You couldn’t live in a world where you couldn’t come back to Shouta.
The god could sense your distress and pulled you into a tight embrace, still discussing the arrangement with the three deities. But your mind was elsewhere. You knew what had to be done if you ever wanted to return. Heart racing, you leaned back and grabbed Shouta’s face, pulling him to meet your eyes. “Let me eat a seed, Shouta. Please.” His eyebrows knit together and his body tensed as he shook his head. “I can’t let you do that, my love. I can come visit you in Olympus instead.” But you wouldn’t have any of it.
____
He watched as your eyes filled with tears, your voice quivering and breaking as you spoke. “No! My mother won’t let you see me! And even if I begged her she won’t allow me to return here. She won’t let me come back to you.” Fat tears rolled down your cheeks, sobs shaking your shoulders as you tried to hold them back. He hated seeing you so sad, so heartbroken. But he knew what would happen if you ate a pomegranate seed. To be fair, so did you, and you were willing to do it if it meant you could see him again.
You were willing to be compelled to return, compelled so strongly that if you didn’t return your body would fall ill and weak, pain seeping into your very bones. You would need to return here, to the Underworld, or you would suffer. You would need this realm to survive. He had explained it to you when you asked, and you’d promised you would think about it. Still, he hated the very idea of you being in pain. His mind reeled with the possibilities, and as much as he hated it, you both knew how this was going to go.
____
Staring up at the god, you waited as he lost himself in thought. You didn’t want to force his hand, but if you needed to, you would. Three other deities were present, and could probably hold him long enough for you to pull a red fruit from the earth and swallow down a seed. A deep sigh came from the raven haired god, and a large hand cupped your face as he pulled you into a sweet kiss. He leaned his forehead against yours and sighed softly before speaking, his voice low. “I won’t force you, my love. It is your choice to make.”
You let out a shaky, relieved breath and pulled away from him. Extending your arm out to your side, palm down to the earth, you willed the plant to grow. In mere seconds, a tree sprouted from the dirt, a single large pomegranate glowing with the magic of the Underworld hanging just at your face. You plucked it smoothly, then let the tree shrink back down and vanish. You cracked the fruit open and held a single seed in your palm, looking to Shouta as you took a deep breath. He gave a final nod, and you popped the seed into your mouth, swallowing it whole.
You felt the magic course through you, a piece of the Underworld itself flowing through your body and making itself a part of you. Turning to the three, you spoke, radiating the confidence of a Queen and a goddess. “You three have witnessed me consume a pomegranate seed from the Underworld of my own volition. You know that Hades has not forced anything upon me.” The three nod, acknowledging the truth in your statement. You addressed the goddess of love. “Aphrodite, I believe you can confirm that I love Shouta just as he loves me, and that it was not influenced by you or Eros but developed naturally.”
She gave a sweet smile, nodding in confirmation. Turning back to Shouta, you wrapped your arms around him and he held you tight in a final embrace before you left for Olympus with Hermes, Ares, and Aphrodite. You peered up into his dark obsidian eyes. “I’ll be back, I promise.” He smiled down at you, adoration and love the only emotions in his gaze beside a tinge of despair. “I know you will, my Queen. If you are ever in danger, or if you long for me too much to bear, tap the ground and I will come to you.”
You held him close, then separated and walked to Hermes, who picked you up gently and held you to his chest. Aphrodite and Ares climbed into their own chariot and set off before you. With a final glance to the god of death, you called out to him.
“I love you Shouta.”
“I love you too (y/n).”
He and the rest of the Underworld vanished in a blur, replaced by the grand palace grounds of Olympus.

character ask: susato mikotoba
HER!!!
How I feel about this character: QUEEN... if women were allowed to be people in the era tgaa was set in, ryu would be her BITCH. She is elegant, she is badass, she is feminine, she is genderfluid... When starting tgaa, I feared she would just be Maya 5.0 (you know, as Kay and Trucy and Athena are) but she has DELIGHTFULLY proven me wrong. I sometimes forget she is only 16, which makes it even more impressive like... wow. She would easily go head-to-toe with Kazuma in a court.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: REI REI REI... wow I am a basic bitch. I also want her to have a woman-crush on Esmeralda.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: KAZUMA... they are siblings your honor. They studied together. They braided each other's hair. Kazuma helped her with offensive martial arts, while Susato taught him how to apply makeup - gnc kings exchanging information that were taught to them because of their assigned genders. They fought about food and festivals. They called each other useless about their crushes on their best friends. They debated each other before a trial. They cried together, they laughed together. They love each other...
My unpopular opinion about this character: First, her "friendship" with Ryu was not developed AT ALL. Second, she is not that forgiving, and she will not blindly believe in you. in tgaa 1-2, it took her AGES before she was convinced Ryu didn't kill Kazuma. In 2-1, she actually doubted Rei for a moment during the trial. She is bound by logic and facts, not sentiment, and when she believes in you it's because she is CERTAIN she knows you. Don't pit her together with other characters from the original AA franchise, please.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Actual friendship development with Ryu... seriously... the canon went "well they spent so much time together they clearly love each other :)" and I was like THEY SPENT SO MUCH TIME TOGETHER YOU HAD SO MUCH OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW THEM BONDING. They were like "oh my god I love you and I'll miss you teary eyes teary eyes" and I was like "when the fuck..." Also my heart SHATTERED when she straight up went to Kazuma and was like "oh yeah I just got you back but I kinda dont care about you anymore" and you might argue that's not what happened but if you see your adoptive brother/mentor come back from dead and the only thing you say to him when you finally have a conversation is "im leaving" and nothing else... that's how it reads. And I HATE IT. It also ties to the fact I don't see the relationship between her and Ryu develop at all so it's extra baffling for her to choose Ryu without question.
my OTP: reisusa.............
my cross over ship: fluttershy- NO IM JOKING COME BACK. I don't really do crossovers when the canon material has plenty of characters
a headcanon fact: this is a fact: she is genderfluid. next

now with that out of the way.......... can we get some powerpuff girls villains and other characters based cousins and extended family?! seriously, i'm not throwing spots for them but - lets have them! please! this is a super open call out for some extended family, all based on other characters from the powerpuff girls, and i would love to include more with them. let me know!
FAITH WILDER. 27/28, OPEN. First came Faith in all her glory. She was beautiful in her intelligence, beautiful in the way that she stood proper and never had a hair out of place. She was untouchable, the ice queen, the one everyone assumed everything about because of her keen silence. She was never invited to join in, always a sullen loneliness inside her even after the boys started to pay her far too much attention. She knew that it wasn't her they wanted, not really, just another pretty face to be kept like a trophy.
FELICITY WILDER. 24/25, RESERVED FOR LUNA. Second came Felicity in all her honor. She was beautiful in her kindness, beautiful in the way that she always wore a smile and never had a mean word to say. She was naïve in her optimism, gullible and a target for many to attempt to tear down. She was the butt of many jokes, and still she smiled, still she stayed, even when she knew better. She thought that it was better to be a part of something than to be alone, like her sister before her.
FREYA WILDER. 22, TAKEN BY ATHENA. Third came Freya in all her power. She was beautiful in her recklessness, beautiful in the way that she smirked and the way her eyes danced with mischief. She was everything and nothing all at once, and the rumors started before she'd ever so much as looked at someone in a romantic way, nonetheless the lies they pushed upon her name. She wore the labels slut, whore, and skank like badges of honor, as if holding her head high could make it go away. She knew that it was better to be disliked than to be walked over, like her sister before her.

For the prompt thingy, Reluctant Caretaker With Janus and Infant!Patton? (Aka sunshine pure baby and unqualified papa)
Tumblr media
Characters: Janus, Patton, Virgil, mentions of Logan, Remus, and Roman
Warnings: Coma, drunk driving, bruises, stitches
“Unnnnnnnnn’caaaaaaaaa, ‘Anu!”
Janus groaned, cracking his eyes open and rubbing at his eyes sleepily. He glanced at his alarm clock and after blinking a few times, he groaned again when he saw just how early it was. “Fucking- ugh,” he muttered, rubbing his hand down his face. He sighed and got up, slowly walking out of the room.
“Unnnnnnnnn’caaaaaaaaa, ‘Anu!”
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Janus muttered, yawning so hard that his jaw clicked. He walked into the room that had been nothing but a guest room a few days ago - when things had still been normal and Janus didn’t have to worry about raising a baby - and to the old crib that he had gotten three splinters setting up.
His nephew was standing up in the crib and looking up at Janus with wide eyes and a bright grin. He bounced up and down and made grabby hands at Janus. “Un’ca ‘Anu’, up! Up!”
Janus yawned and picked Patton up, bracing him against his hip. “Yes, Uncle Janus is up now. Though, the fact that either of us is up at four fifteen is a crime,” he told the one-year-old seriously.
And in return for the great wisdom that he had given his nephew, Patton reached up and grabbed Janus’ nose. Well... Janus supposed that he had gotten worse feedback from people who he had given advice to.
“Alright now, no playing games now,” Janus hummed sleepily, gently moving Patton’s hand away and walking out of the used-to-be-a-guest-room. He glanced out the window and sighed. The stupid sun could already be seen peeking up over the horizon. “Are you hungry? Is that why you woke me up?”
“’anna ‘ee Daddy,”
Janus froze right at the top of the stairs, feeling like he had just been slapped. He had been so good pushing back and ignoring the heart-crushing grief, confusion, and helplessness that the last few days had brought. And with three words, his one-year-old nephew had almost completely toppled all the walls that Janus had put up to try and cope. Janus took a shaky breath, eyes burning with unshed tears. “I’m afraid that you can’t see your Daddy right now,” he said softly, walking down the stairs. “You’re living with me for now, Patton. I... will explain in the morning, okay?”
Patton gave him a look with so much of Virgil’s stubbornness that Janus almost let out a sob. Virgil had barely had Patton for a year and his son was already so much like him.
“For now, let’s think of better things,” Janus said with forced chipper in his voice. He walked into the kitchen grabbed a small box of cheerios from his cupboard. “Even though it’s far too early to be up and awake, five o’clock is also the time when the old cartoons come on. I used to watch these shows with your daddy when I was just a toddler and he was your age.” He managed a weak smile as he walked into the living room. “Doesn’t that sound fun?”
“Yes,” Patton chirped, grinning at Janus widely that wrinkled the stark white bandaid that he had gotten at the hospital. “Yes!”
Janus chuckled, sitting down in his favourite old armchair, shifting Patton so he was in one arm so he could open up the box of cheerios. “Did you watch these shows with your daddy? Or did Mr. Lawyer show his son more serious shows? Educational programs?” He got a blank stare in response and decided that it was far too early in the morning to use big words with his nephew. So instead he just switched the channel until he found old reruns of ‘The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show”.
Besides, Patton’s excited cry of, “T’eety!” made Janus think that maybe this wasn’t the first time he had watched these shows.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Janus’ shoes clicked against the hospital tiles, the only sound in the eerily quiet hallway. He could hear distant coughs and the quiet sound of people talking but here, in the long term care section of the hospital at eight o’clock in the morning, there wasn’t much noise. And it made Janus so sad. His poor baby brother didn’t belong in a place like this.
He stopped outside the last door in the hallway, knocking gently at the half-open door. “Good morning,” he said softly, walking in and draping his coat over one of the chairs. He sat down with a sigh. “I’m sorry that I’m here so early but your son woke me up at four AM. I left him with my friends so I can come to see you. Please don’t worry about your son, Virgil. Logan and Remus are good people and they already love Patton." He took off his bowler hat and put it in his lap, tapping his finger against it gently. “Do you have anything to say about that?”
Of course Virgil didn’t. Though, Janus supposed that he couldn’t be too upset with his brother. It was rather hard to speak with tubes down your throat. And the fact that Virgil was in a coma made it even harder, Janus was sure.
Virgil was lying completely still on his hospital bed, looking strangely peaceful. He didn’t seem bothered at the dark purple bruises on his cheeks or the stitched-up cut on his forehead. And then Janus remembered how he had looked a few days ago when he had first been brought to the hospital and had to look away.
“Your friend Roman came to my house the other day,” Janus said, forcing himself to continue. He had to speak talking. He feared what would come out of his mouth if he didn’t. “I must say, Roman may not be as interesting as his brother but he is a good lawyer. He’s pushing me to press charges and he is assuring me that I would have a very good case.” He snorted and shook his head. “Though, I suppose that you don’t have to be a good lawyer to know that driving while is against the law.”
When there was no response to his words, Janus sighed and reached forward, gently putting a hand over Virgil’s bruised one. “Do you remember how happy I was when you made me Patton’s Godfather,” he whispered softly and with a slight tremble to his words. “Well, I change my mind. Virgil... I have no idea how to care for a baby. You have to wake up so you can raise your son. Please.” He laughed and blinked, vision turning a little blurry. “I am begging, Virgil. You have to wake up. I can’t do this. I don’t know how to do this.”
The only response Janus received was the steady beeping of Virgil’s heart monitor. It looked like Janus was on his own for now.
March 15, 2021: Clash of the Titans (Review: Part One)
Please. Let me write a Greek mythology movie. I’m tired.
Tumblr media
I am SO TIRED of Greek mythology being so...misused. Do y’all realize how much potential lies in an adaptation, a PROPER adaptation of Greek myths? Because it’d be fantastic if done well. Look, I’m not a writer, let alone a script or screenwriter, but I could write a better adaptation of Greek mythology, I swear I could.
Tumblr media
Full warning, you might wanna skip this part. It’s gonna be...REALLY long.
So, yeah, this “review” is getting broken up into two parts. The first part here is really just a rant/hypothetical Perseus film that Id make if I had any screenwriting ability. Yeah, it’s basically a fanfic, so feel free to, like, not. Check out the Review here. Read ahead at your own peril.
You might be saying, “OK, bet; how would you adapt the story of Perseus?” Fair question, metaphorical yet judgmental person; how would I do it, exactly? Well, I’d mostly do it straight, to be honest. But you need to make this a cinematic adaptation, right? SO story changed need to be made, I get that. And I think that needs to start with the gods.
First up, you need Zeus, if for no other reason than to father Perseus. I do like the fact that he’s a patron for Perseus throughout these movies, but I don’t like Zeus as a straight-up dad. That’s for various reasons, but I’ll get there. Perseus’ main patron, instead, should be his half-sister: Athena.
Tumblr media
Seriously, Athena needs to be a big part of this movie. She’s not exactly one of the biggest patrons for heroes, but she does like them. In the case of Perseus, she should sympathize with him. Perseus, after all, is one of the first major Greek heroes. Yeah, he really should be one of the first, and that needs to be fully acknowledged. Athena, in her LITERAL INFINITE WISDOM, should see the young demigod for what he could become: a bonafide hero. And so, she needs to be a part of this movie. One of her key allies should be...
Tumblr media
Hermes should be, well, mercurial. Always moving, never truly still, because dude is CONSTANTLY busy. Not only is he a messenger, but he’s also the god of medicine, AND a psychopomp that escorts spirits to the underworld. Yeah, he wears a lot of winged hats. He’s also another extramarital child of Zeus, giving him sympathy for Perseus as well.
While he’s mostly a neutral god, he could also serve as a messenger from Athena to Perseus, delivering to him the gifts from the gods. He could even be the one who gets the Helm of Darkness from Hades, given his relationship to death and the Underworld. So, he’s gotta be in there as an ally of Athena. Hell, he could even be the one who finds Perseus and tells Athena about him in the first place. OK, Athena and Perseus now have an ally, so what about a villain?
Well, this movie had Calibos and technically Thetis, the 2010 had fuckin’ Hades (because of course they did), but no. Both are the wrong choice. The right choice here, in my humble opinion, is one that MAKES FUCKING SENSE.
Tumblr media
Hot take: POSEIDON IS AN ASSHOLE. I realize that this statement has doomed me to a death at sea, but that won’t stop me from hiding the truth. Yeah, dude’s the god of the ocean, and of horses, but he’s also the father of countless monsters, nearly as horny as his younger brother Zeus, and the god of earthquakes. He’s a petty, tempestuous god, as angry and ever-changing as the ocean that he rules. And he’s ABSOLUTELY the right choice for a villain of a Perseus movie.
The movie would begin in the ocean, the source of all of the troubles in this movie. 20 years before the main events of the film, we emerge from the ocean and soar over an island, on which is a beautiful temple. Waves wash over the island, enveloping it. A woman’s scream is heard in the background, as we soar over the island, following an owl that is flying away from the island. As we fly over the ocean, narration tells us that this is a world of gods and monsters, and the owl flies over creatures in the ocean, like hippocampi and other such creatures. The owl flies over another island, which on screen text identifies as Argos. Here, a shower of gold dust flies up from a building. Perseus has just been conceived.
Tumblr media
Cut to a day not too far afterwards, where King Acrisius is meeting with an unseen trio of women, in a cave on a mountainside. The king tells them that his daughter, Danae, has become pregnant, although he knows not by whom. The women reveal that Zeus is her lover, and that this will bring great ruin onto the kingdom of Argos, especially onto Acrisius himself. This is a big problem, too, as the kingdom of Argos worships Poseidon as their patron god. Acrisius, see, was planning on saving Danae for Poseidon, as a perverse offering to the god. But Zeus beat him to the punch, which has made Poseidon angry. And so, Acrisius sacrifices his daughter to Poseidon...by putting her in a box, which he casts out to sea.
Poseidon is about to destroy the box and Danae, who is still pregnant with her child. However, Zeus won’t have it, and in a battle between the two gods, a storm with golden lightning rages over the sea, and sweeps the box away, to the safety of an island where it washes up on shore, AWAY from Poseidon’s wrath. Zeus’ protection saves Danae, who has given birth to a son: Perseus. Poseidon, spurned of his revenge against his brother, makes a child of his own. But we only see its shadow beneath the waves. He’ll come back later.
Tumblr media
Time passes, and a few things happen. The kingdom of Argos falls, and Acrisius is brought to ruin, as the mysterious prophetesses predicted. They are starved of fish, and the king is blamed, for condemning his daughter to death. He is driven into exile, and Argos is destroyed...by Poseidon’s mysterious child, who is only known by the name Cetus. The city still exists afterward, so that Perseus has a place to return to, but it’s wrecked.
Meanwhile, Perseus grows up, into a young man. He’s not particularly strapping, but he’s still surprisingly strong and hardy for his size. All the while, he’s watched over by a little owl, the same one we saw in the beginning of the film, flying over the ocean. Appearing below the owl is a rooster, which flies up next to the owl. Both of them watch the young Perseus, then look up when they hear the screech of a golden eagle, flying high in the sky above them. They look at each other, as the eagle flies up to the tip of a nearby mountain. The owl and rooster fly off, with the rooster flying higher than a rooster should be able to fly.
Tumblr media
We follow them as they pass through the clouds, and they turn into their true forms: Athena and Hermes. They watch the golden eagle fly into a separate grand temple, as thunder and lightning appear. We’re not gonna see Zeus until nearly the end of this movie. Athena and Hermes discuss Perseus in Athena’s temple on Olympus. Hermes is a bit busy, so he’s off in a hurry, but Athena sits and ponders Perseus’ situation.
Perseus, meanwhile, has a different problem: surviving. Poseidon’s been particularly dickish lately, and the fish stock around Perseus’ island is low as FUCK. His mother, meanwhile, is older now, and struggling with her health. An old hermit walks into the village one day, and hears Perseus’ troubles. The hermit tells Perseus that the fish market is good near the nearby kingdom of Aethiopia, which includes a large and prosperous city that may also have medicine to help his ailing mother. Perseus decides to go on the journey there. As he leaves the hermit, we see the hermit’s eye color change to a sparkling electric blue.
Tumblr media
Perseus heads onto the seas, with a fishing boat leaving for Aethiopia. The second that boat hits the water, Poseidon senses the blood of Zeus on his ocean. Being the petty asshole he is, he sees his chance to finally exact revenge on Zeus for stealing Danae from him. He sends his child, Cetus, after the ship to sink it. We don’t see the  Cetus brings rough water with it. However, Zeus again protects the ship on its journey, and Poseidon’s SUPER butthurt now. He watches Perseus make his way to Aethiopia.
Aethiopia, in this movie, is a city that doesn’t particularly worship any one god. It’s not exactly the least theistic place in the world, though, because its residents will still fear any action that the gods take against them. That’ll come in handy later. Perseus lands there with the boat, and is immediately overwhelmed by the city’s grandeur. Additionally, he stands out here, as the people there are mostly, surprise surprise, black and brown in skin color. BECAUSE IT’S NORTHERN AFRICA!!! YEAH! Andromeda COULD BE BLACK, FUN GODDAMN FACT. Aethiopia was used to describe southern kingdoms below Libya, which was northern Africa! Come on, man!
Tumblr media
While wandering blind through the city, Perseus bumps into a young woman, shrouded in plain vestments as she walks through the village. And it’s immediately love at first sight for Perseus, although the young woman seems somewhat nonplussed. This is the beautiful and radiant Andromeda, and YEAH! I’M RIPPING OFF ALADDIN A LITTLE! SUE MEI! See, Andromeda’s trying to explore her kingdom, as she’s been somewhat sheltered throughout her life, protected in the castle by father King Cepheus and shallow mother Queen Cassiopeia.
The two part quickly, but her visage remains in Perseus’ mind, horny Zeus’ kid that he is. He finds out who she is later on, considering what’s about to happen. See, there’s a festival going on, and it’s actually leading up to Andromeda’s 20th birthday. The overly clingy Cepheus honors his daughter unnecessarily, setting up an entire 2-week celebration leading up to her birthday.
Tumblr media
During the nightly celebration, which Perseus attends, there’s a great feast. He bumps into Andromeda once again, and the two start talking. Andromeda is kind, if naïve, and wants to be a good queen to her people. However, she feels like a trophy, set aside for any given suitor wanting to win her heart. Perseus sympathizes, and feels a bit guilty, as her beauty was what struck him most at first, but has now begun to appreciate her as a person, over the course of this conversation. Said conversation is watched by Athene, in owl form once again.
The conversation’s interrupted by Queen Cassiopeia, who makes a speech about her daughter, and you know what’s coming here. She says that her daughter is beautiful, moreso than any of the Nereids, or anything that the sea could produce. And everybody laughs, it’s real funny, people agree...and then, we zoom over to a nearby fountain. The water begins to shake, and then, the ground itself begins to shake! Because Poseidon is the GOD OF EARTHQUAKES. COME ON, USE THIS SHIT!
Tumblr media
Poseidon, pissed off, manifests from the water of the fountain, and we now see his visage in full for the first time, and it needs to be IMPOSING. He looks at the queen, and at Andromeda herself. He says that for Cassiopeia’s hubris, they are to be punished. Her child will meet one of his, the great Cetus, and then they’ll be able to compare “prowess and beauty”. This is certain death for Andromeda, obviously, and everybody knows it. This is to be done on her 20th birthday, or all of Aethiopia will fall. It’s then that Perseus steps in to defend Andromeda.
Poseidon looks at him, and says something like: “And look! As if to perfect this offering, Zeus’ bastard steps in the save the day! Well, child, do you offer yourself to me, after evading my justice for so long?” Everybody, INCLUDING PERSEUS, if totally shaken by this revelation. See, Perseus had NO IDEA that he was the child of Zeus. But he swallows his surprise, and offers himself in Andromeda’s stead. As Poseidon’s about to kill him there and then, he hears a hoot from the rafters, and sees the visage of Athena overlapping the little owl. Not comfortable with this situation, he offers a deal: if Perseus can complete a task for him, he will spare Andromeda’s life. Perseus accepts IMMEDIATELY, without hearing the task. And that task?
Kill the Gorgon Medusa, and bring her head back to Aethiopia before Andromeda is sacrificed.
Tumblr media
Yeah, not good, and definitely unfair. Perseus isn’t exactly a warrior of any prowess, so this won’t end well for him. Poseidon laughs, and disappears into the water of the fountain. Silence befalls the hall, and all eyes turn to Perseus. Athena leaves, and flies up to her temple, angry and frustrated. She then decides that, if Poseidon is going to meddle in the affairs of the mortal world so strongly, then she will do the same. She finds Hermes, and the two start to conspire.
The next morning, Perseus heads out on the journey, although he has no idea what to do. Andromeda begs him not to do it, but he says he has little to lose. King Cepheus, humbled by Perseus’ intentions, promises whatever Perseus wants if he succeeds. Perseus states that he wants little, but will take assistance for his mother and village. It’s done. And Andromeda, to the surprise of her mother, almost offers her hand in marriage to her as well. But she stops short, still hesitant.
Tumblr media
Perseus is about to go the distance, when a little owl catches his eye. Something tells him to follow the owl, and he does. Athena reveals herself, and Perseus is struck, not knowing what to do. She tells him to find the Greae, as they will tell him how to get to Medusa. He asks how he will get there, and Athena gives him his first divine item: Hermes’ winged sandals, loaned to him by the messenger god himself. The sandals will guide him to the location of the sisters. And Perseus accepts.
He makes his way to the sisters, the shenanigans with the eye stay about the same (it’s pretty solid in the 1981 film, not gonna lie), and from there, he finds out where to go. In the meantime, Athena’s and Perseus’ deeds are being noticed by the gods, eventually making their way to the three brothers. Poseidon is, of course, enraged at these happenings, considering them dishonorable to him, and also incensed as this is coming from Athena, a long-standing rival of his. Hades seems neutral about it. And Zeus...we’ll come back to him. Hermes, joined by Dionysus, speaks with Athena in Olympus, and delivers something to her to give to Perseus: Hades’ Helm of Darkness. He’s curiously chosen a side, but why isn’t known even to Hermes. Will that reason ever be revealed?
Tumblr media
I have my reasons. Dionysus, also inspired by Perseus’ origins (which mirror his own as well), gives to Athena a wine-colored cloak, impervious to harm from all poisons and corrosive items. Inspired by this, Athena thinks on her history with Medusa. And, uh...remember that scream from the beginning? Yeah, Medusa’s “birth” coincides with Perseus’ conception. While Poseidon was...busy...Zeus went for Danae behind his back. And we’re going to sanitize Medusa’s origin...a little. But for Athena’s sake, specifically.
Poseidon raped Medusa. That’s a given. And Medusa was a priestess of Athena, but not a great one. Although Athena was angered at Poseidon’s actions GREATLY, the one who inevitably suffered for it was Medusa. Poisoned by Poseidon’s actions, she was transformed into her current form. And in this case, it’s not made clear whether or not Athena directly caused it...but it’s clear that Athena did nothing to stop it. This can be changed in some ways, but this is how I’m changing it for the movie. If you disagree, entirely understandable, I’m open to suggestions here.
Tumblr media
OK, after that flashback, we see that Athena’s kind of ashamed of her actions, but not entirely. I realize that this is a stretch for Athena’s character, but this is a movie for wider audiences, so we’ll go for it. There’s a reason, I promise. Athena delivers the gifts to Perseus, which he finds once he’s left the cave of the Greae. That’s the cloak from Dionysus, the Helm of Darkness from Hades, and Athena’s offering, a mirrored shield. Perseus heads out to slay Medusa.
Poseidon, meanwhile, has his own ideas. He goes to speak with Hera, a shadow antagonist who’ll get her day later on. He persuades her to help take care of Zeus’ bastard son, and she reluctantly gives him permission to use one of her creations. What this is is left a mystery for the time being, but not for long. Perseus is busy flying with the winged sandals, and is thinking on how easy the journey has been. He’s getting a little cocky, in other words. But that’s quickly stopped when he’s blind-sided by something hitting him in the sky. He’s sent flying, and when he focuses up again, he sees what’s hit him.
Tumblr media
YUP. HARPIES. Now, at this point, you may be saying: “365, you hypocrite! That never happened in the original story of Perseus! You sonuvabitch!” To that I say:
This is supposed to be a movie, and it’s gotta be a little exciting.
The origin of the harpies is entirely unstated, and Hera loved her some birds, so it makes sense that she would have some. In fact, I kind of want to make them women that Hera punished with this form, possibly for their association with Zeus at some point.
I’m setting something up, just trust me here.
Harpies as a concept are a familiar enemy to most audiences.
They’re cool, and an aerial battle’s even cooler here.
Perseus needs some mortal peril, because of something that’s about to happen.
OK. With that, the Harpies attack Perseus, and Perseus realizes that he doesn’t have a weapon to fight them with. He’s forced aground, on a seemingly desrted island. The Harpies fly off for now, ready to pick Perseus off later. Perseus, now stuck on the island, wanders around. At the same time, Zeus, sees this, and turns into an eagle once again. He flies off to a volcano, as an irritated Hera looks on. At the volcano, he flies into a cave, lined with veins of many metals. This is Hephaestus’ forge.
Tumblr media
Hephaestus is another of those gods that I feel like never gets his day in court. There are many reasons for that, to be fair, but I’d like him to have a role in this story. He’s a relatively neutral god, mostly caring about his work at the anvil, moreso than anything else. I also like the idea of having him almost be a running joke in his scenes, in that he always comes up with devices far beyond their time. Like, at a certain point, he offers something for Zeus to give to Perseus, which he calls a “thunderblast”. And it’s a fucking CANNON, YEARS ahead of its time. You also see sketches for smaller versions, which are just straight up guns. But, y’know, eus will refuse that.
Speaking of that, THIS is the first time that we’ll see Zeus’ true face, lit by the light of the forge. And there are a few reasons for this, one of which being that Zeus’ casting should be a big name, and a surprise in marketing. But other than that, Zeus’ really shouldn’t have too much import in the story, outside of Perseus’ creation. However, looking at Hephaestus, who is himself a cast-out and neglected offspring of the gods, Zeus actually manages to eke out a little guilt for his actions for one. He asks Hephaestus to make something for him and Perseus. Hephaestus is hesitant, but agrees upon hearing about Perseus’ origins, because Hephaestus is ALSO HIS HALF-BROTHER...in this movie. Hephaestus’ origin has changed in different tellings, but I want him to be Zeus’ kid. So, yeah, Hephaestus agrees to make something...simple.
Perseus is on the island. There, he’s being watched by YET ANOTHER mysterious figure. Because, yeah, that’s how these people should work. See, there’s another benefactor for him that I want to bring in for various reasons. This island appears to have been inhabited at some point, but was abandoned for unknown reasons. Perseus wanders around, and stumbles upon a ruined Great Hall, open to the sky. He wanders in, nervously. But then, to his surprise, he sees a great feast before him, as a fire roars in the hearth at the end of the hall. He looks at the fire for a moment, and sees a woman tending it. But as the fire bursts, it produces a flash of light, and the woman is gone. Who was she, though?
The LEAST used and talked about goddess in all of pop culture. An unofficial/occasional Olympian, and far less popular than Dionysus, who usually takes her seat. I actually want her to have given Dionysus her seat, as she will be wandering the world, bestowing blessings on the households of those worthy mortals who honor her. To Perseus, she gives this gift, and this hall with maintain this gift in the future. This goddess is Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth and Home.
Tumblr media
AND YES I AM AWARE OF HESTIA IN THE ANIME DANMACHA. Doesn’t goddamn count, because that obviously isn’t Hestia. The Greek goddess deserves some respect, as she’s literally the oldest of all of them, and was VERY respected in Greek culture, by LITERALLY EVERYBODY. So, yeah, Hestia’s going to appear here, ever so briefly.
The other reason for this is...well, the Harpies show up, as Perseus eats. They perch on the roof of the Great Hall, and watch him eat. He notices them, and as he reacts, they come down to take the food and attack him. Perseus realizes that the food has revitalized his weary body, and he runs. However, the Harpies prevent egress, and he still has no weapon. Until...
Tumblr media
Thunder clashes, and lightning strikes in the middle of the Great Hall! The fire goes out, but light is coming from something in the center of the table, as Perseus and the Harpies look on. With the lightning bolt, there traveled a harpe, a type of sword, which is embedded in the table. But this is no ordinary sword, as it chines silver, almost blue in hue, as electricity arcs off of it. This is a divine sword, forged by Hephaestus on the order of Zeus himself.
But the sword is nameless...for now. Perseus uses the flashes of the sword to fend off the harpies. When one of them lunges at him, he quickly moves in response to it, and strikes it just, slicing off a wing. The other Harpies fly away in fear, but not too far. Perseus takes the opportunity, and leaves the great Hall, maybe grabbing some food on the way. Now armed, he has a way to kill Medusa, and to take her head. He heads to the island, with new purpose.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, in Aethiopia, the people are starting to panic. Remember when I said the city wasn’t particularly religious before? WELL THEY ARE NOW, since they’ve realized that they’ve profaned Poseidon with their arrogance. The vain Cassiopeia is now terrified, for herself rather than for her daughter. Cepheus is terrified for Andromeda, and Andromeda...well, Andromeda is putting hope in Perseus, but she is also prepared to sacrifice herself if necessary. But deep down, she doesn’t believe it will be, because she oddly believes in Perseus.
However, Cepheus won’t be able to hold off the hordes forever, It’s been nearly a week, and Andromeda is to be sacrificed soon. And if Cepheus won’t do it, the newly religious Cassiopeia and the crowd will.
Tumblr media
Poseidon realizes that his plan with Hera’s Harpies didn’t work...perfectly. Damn, he’s still alive. Plus, the Harpies won’t get off of the island now, especially seeing that food seems to be magically appearing every night, due to Hestia’s gift. Maybe and island with magically appearing food beset by Harpies will, I dunno...come backcoughcogchJasoncoughcoughArgonautscoughcough. Nevertheless, Poseidon hatches another plan, a back-up plan to get revenge on Zeus and Perseus. He tells a nymph to “find him”. We’ll get to “him” later.
However, this is a problem for Perseus still, because he’s been thrown WAY off course from the island of Medusa. Even with the sandals, he’d be cutting it close to get back to Joppa with Medusa’s head. And that’s if he gets back with the head. Still a big if, that. In any case, he’s headed there to do what he must. He’s already faced the Greae and the Harpies, so, hey! Not too bad so far, right? Just Medusa next, and then a giant sea monster! Hahaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Tumblr media
Well...whatever. For Andromeda, and for something else, he’s going to do it. Perseus looks at the sword, and wonders what’s up with the whole “Zeus is my dad” thing yet again, but shakes it off as he continues flying. Above him, an eagle flies. Said eagle is soon joined by an owl, and the two share a look as they follow Perseus. He’s close to the island, and Medusa’s island is prominent on the horizon, shrouded in a dark eerie fog.
Perseus lands on the island, after hovering above it for perhaps too long. This is, unsurprisingly, the same island from the beginning of the film, now in ruins. He gears up, and this includes the Helm of Darkness this time. He creeps into the temple, and is struck by surprise when he sees a Gorgon slithering next to him. OH SHIT
Tumblr media
On first glimpse, the invisible Perseus notes that the creature is indeed monstrous, standing 6-feet tall, with snakes for her short hair and fang-like teeth protruding from her mouth. And while there are some details not actually in Greek mythology, I do like some details given in the films. Firstly, this Gorgon is armed not only with her looks and teeth, but bows and arrows, as seen as she takes an arrow, and coats in in poison dripping from her teeth.
Perseus realizes the danger that he’s in, but also doesn’t realize that this ISN’T Medusa. YUP. This is one of the Gorgons, but not Medusa. He approaches the creature, confident in his invisibility. However, he isn’t careful enough, and accidentally kicks a pebble. The Gorgon looks directly at him, into his EYES, and he’s paralyzed! But...he isn’t turned to stone, curiously. This is how he figures out that this isn’t Medusa, but simply another Gorgon. He also realizes how careless he’s being, and takes care to avert his eyes from the Gorgons and Medusa.
Tumblr media
He gets over his paralysis eventually, then carefully makes his way to the main temple. On the way, he encounters another Gorgon, completing the trio of Gorgons present in mythology. He walks into the temple, and as he does, a door slams shut behind him. Now the Gorgons up until now have been monstrous and fairly tall women, with snakes for hair and hideous visages, but also with mostly humanoid bodies, with legs that they can walk upon. Medusa, though...Medusa’s different.
As the door closes, Perseus is clearly unnerved. The temple seems empty in front of him, but he also sees statues littered around it, clearly those of mortal men turned to stone by Medusa’s gaze. He walks carefully, and as he does, he hears a voice call out, asking who’s there. She can smell him, sense him, and he is not completely invisible to her. Perseus says nothing, as not to completely give away him position. But he is TERRIFIED, and the audience should be as well. Because we see glimpses of her throughout the temple. You ever see the new version of Disney’s The Jungle Book? Remember how they first showed Kaa?
Tumblr media
In the same way, coils of a snake’s body are seen, slithering around Perseus, who’s looking for Medusa. All the while, a hissing voice speaks to him from the shadows. She recognizes that his patron is Athena, her former priestess. She explains her rage, both at Poseidon for what he did, and for Athena for abandoning her and condemning her to this terrible fate. She asks why he’s come, guessing that it’s to kill her. He confirms this, but upon hearing her story, expresses his doubts.
But Medusa...Medusa doesn’t really care. If this is a favored beneficiary of Athena, as she used to be, she wants him fucking DEAD. And she doesn’t care who he is, or what his mission is, or about his feelings. he’s going to turn him into stone, and display him in her collection, so that Athena can see something she loves turned into a monstrous form. And now, we see Medusa in full. And I gotta say, Harryhausen had it right. So did Warner Brothers in adapting it.
Tumblr media
Half snake, half woman, with long, LONG snakes for hair, and a long snake body as well. She’s also surprisingly beautiful, as I actually do like the idea of keeping her beautiful, in a way to remind her of what she used to be. She’s armed not with a bow and arrow, but with a stone spear. And she’s BIG in form. Her head is still human-sized, but she was clearly a tall woman when she was human. She uses her body to rear up to terrifying heights, though, and Perseus can only see glimpses of her as she reveals herself.
She attacks him, and Perseus has to think fast. In the original myths, he gets her in his sleep. In the movies, it’s a combination of luck and mirrors. But here...here, it’s going to be different. See, we’re going with the old fallen pillar gag. Perseus enrages her, and tricks her into knocking over pillars of the temple that they’re in. She attacks with the spear, with statues thrown by her snake body, with her snake body, and also with an addition: spitting venom, like that of a spitting cobra.
Tumblr media
But he manages to either dodge it, or block it with the corrosive proof cloak. All the while, he avoids her gaze, but his helmet is knocked off in the process. She can see him now, and that’s bad news. But only one more column needs to fall. Perseus tricks her into knocking the temple down around her, and she’s trapped in the rubble.
Perseus escapes, and the other Gorgons outside are knocked out by the debris. However, Medusa’s definitely not dead. He stumbles across her, under the rubble, and still enraged. She’s trapped now, though, and he can kill her easily. She actually asks him to, and he refuses at first. But Athene, in owl form, lands on a still standing pillar, in Medusa and Perseus’ eyeline. They see it, and they know that it’s a sign of what Perseus needs to do. Perseus closes his eyes. And he swings.
Tumblr media
The blood washes over the sword, smoking. Now christened in an act of mercy and strength, the blue-silver turns to gold, and a name appears on the blade: Chrysaor (and yeah, I know Chrysaor was a dude, but I am TAKING CREATIVE LICENSE HERE). But Perseus is upset by this, feeling that he wasn’t a great hero at all. But Athena appears, and notes that mercy is also a quality of heroism. Something even the gods could learn (referring to herself, and her actions in reference to Medusa). He looks at her, unsure of what to think.
Not that it matters, since he’ll never get back to Aethiopia in time to save Andromeda. And then...the rubble begins to shake. Perseus arms himself, and he points the sword at the rubble, expecting to fight a Gorgon. But instead, an unexpected creature springs up from the rubble: Pegasus.
Tumblr media
YUP. I’M STILL DOING IT! I realize that Pegasus is NOT Perseus’ mount, but he is actually linked to the myth via Medusa. So, yeah, Pegasus is born of Medusa. Perseus looks at Athena, who notes that Pegasus looks swift, and seems to be a way back. Pegasus is also pretty grateful to Perseus, as he’s technically responsible for his freedom. So, yeah...he gets ONE ride.
Perseus puts the head of Medusa in the cloak of Dionysus, and gets on Pegasus. As Perseus takes off with Pegasus and Chrysaor, Athena looks at the body of Medusa. Zeus, as the eagle, looks on, and follows Perseus to Aethiopia. Athena stays behind, and then is joined by Hermes. He notes that he’s here for Medusa’s soul, as Hades has been waiting for her soul this whole time. There’s his ulterior motive. But Athena tells Hermes that she’ll be accompanying them. She will speak to Hades.
Tumblr media
But enough of that, because Andromeda’s set to be sacrificed! The angry mob has hit a fever pitch, and it’s day before her birthday! Cassiopeia, now fully in the cult of Poseidon with the rest, brings her daughter to the rocks to be chained up. Cepheus tries to stop this, but the mob stops him instead, imprisoning him on the command of Cassiopeia. Andromeda is also taken captive, set to be sacrificed to Poseidon to gain his favor.
Perseus gets to Aethiopia, and lands near Joppa, the capital city. Pegasus takes off, bidding goodbye to Perseus, who thanks him. Pegasus has a date with a kid named Bellerophon. And Perseus is finally feeling confident. Although, he’s not entirely sure what he’ll do when he gets there. But he’s got the head, so what could go wro-BAM!!!
Tumblr media
He’s blindsided, with a hit to the face by a rock! And here, we get a bit of an aside from the myth to add something. See, Perseus wakes up, as he’s been out for a WHILE. As he wakes up, he sees an old man, clearly bedraggled and haggard. The man notes that he’s awake after all, and Perseus notes that he has the sword and Medusa’s head in the cloak. This old man introduces himself as an old banished king. He explains that he is there to kill Perseus, on command from Poseidon. You see, he’s been given a chance at absolution, for offending him via inaction many years ago.
The two have a heart-to-heart of sorts, about the expectations of the gods, and Perseus asks why he hasn’t killed him. The king doesn’t reveal his full reasons, those being that Perseus is, of course, his grandson. But Perseus asks him to let him live, in order to save someone with the item in the bag. Curious, the old king looks in the bag...
Tumblr media
Stone. And thus, Acrisus’ prophesied downfall is done. Shocked and saddened by this, Perseus nevertheless takes the head, his sword, and his sandals. and takes off to save Andromeda. More time’s been lost, and Andromeda’s lost her hope in Perseus, as has everybody else. By the time he gets there, Poseidon’s released Cetus, who can look however, but I will say I think the incarnation in the 2010 movie was pretty solid. Cetus heads off to kill Andromeda, under the watch of Cassiopeia and her cult of Poseidon.
But then, Perseus shows up to present the head, and sees Cetus having arrived to devour Andromeda. Instinctively, he presents the head to Cetus, and turns him into stone (because I think that’s a cool way for him to go). Andromeda is saved, but Poseidon is PISSED THAT HIS PLAIN FAILED. He rears up from the ocean, complete with earthquake tremors, ready to kill Perseus himself. BUT ZEUS IS FUCKING DONE WITH HIS BULLSHIT.
Tumblr media
He steps in the way of Poseidon, and screams that there’s been enough damage done! At the first full appearance of Zeus, EVERYBODY in Aethiopia reacts. While everyone bows in reverence, Cassiopeia’s so freaked out that she runs away. She’ll be leaving the city altogether, and when she does, she’s watched over by a cuckoo (or a peacock). This is Hera, and as a god of women AND OF MOTHERS...she’s going to be punishing Cassiopeia for her deeds.
Zeus and Poseidon speak, and the two come to tentative peace. This is settled in the courts of Olympus, where everybody involved comes together to speak about this affair. They note that, despite Poseidon’s petty bullshit, something unique has happened. A mortal child of a god, spurned on by their actions, has managed to outsmart and defeat countless obstacles. And now, celebrated for saving Andromeda and the city of Joppa, Perseus is celebrated. Zeus predicts that he will be made king, with Andromeda as his queen. And this pleases Zeus greatly. Poseidon, still angry, is not convinced. But Zeus directs his attention away from Perseus’ celebration, and towards one of his children: Pegasus.
Tumblr media
A new age is now dawning in the world of man, and in the world of gods. As Pegasus flies over the oceans, he flies over an island, as Zeus narrates on the nature of this new age of heroes. And as Pegasus lands, we see the city of Corinth in the distance. The narration concludes, as we are introduced to a young man, a prince named...Bellerophon.
Cut to black.
Tumblr media
Well...almost. There’s a mid-credits scene, where a newly crowned Perseus goes back to his island with a fleet of ships to see his mother, and bring her to Aethiopia to live happily. And then, there’s an after-credits scene, with Athena. She’s looking at the mortal word, and looking forward to this age of heroes. She sees that some divine intervention may be needed in the land of Boeotia. She asks her attendant to fetch her shield. And Medusa, saved from the Underworld by a penitent Athena, brings her the shield, Gorgoneion, now adorned with the image of Medusa’s former self, as a reminder to Athena to be merciful. And off she goes, to help another burgeoning hero: Cadmus
AND SO THE AGE OF HEROES BEGINS
Tumblr media
Alongside a theoretical franchise, of course.
If you read this nonsense, then...wow, why? But also, thank you! Mostly for putting up with my mad ravings. I’ll be putting the the straight-up review of this film later today, but...I really needed this off my chest. Any thoughts? Any ideas? Any criticisms? Any petty insults? I’ll take it, whatever it is! THanks again for putting up with this.
See you in the ACTUAL REVIEW!!!
