Hello everyone, this is Slug and I am here with a tutorial on how I personally set up my request blogs. All this was learned from trial and error, and I'm making this in hopes that if someone wanted to run a request blog, but didn't know where to start, that this post will help. This is going to be a lengthy post, and you don't have to follow all or anything from this tutorial! As I stated before, this is what I did, but it's by no means some magical method to run a super successful request blog. It's to help you get started and kind of see what goes into the making of these things. Everything has been split up into categories, and some of them are more optional for aesthetic. You can pick and choose what you take away from this. Please remember the main thing with running a request blog is having fun. If it's not fun for you, then consider why you're doing it. Well, I hope you enjoy this and sorry for the length, but I go very into detail as to what I do...and I might be a little insane with setting things up.

Deciding Blog Theme and Fandoms

So the first thing I recommend is deciding on what theme you want for your blog, and what fandoms you want to write for. I'll split this into two categories on what I mean.

Blog Theme

I'm sure you guys have seen how some blogs have very specific appearances for their posts. Personally, for me, I have the same formatting for every single post I do. If it's a request, I use the same formula for setting them up. For my posts that aren't requests, I also have the same formula alongside banners for everything. Keeping a format that's unique to you will let people know the post is from you. If they don't even have to look at your username to know you wrote it, then you're already on the right path.

I also like to do a lot of oceanic themes for all my stuff which means things like Request Information Pages, Au Information, and Masterlists all follow the same theme. I think keeping a blog theme is just super helpful and fun, and it's not hard to do. Just decide what you want your blog to look like and go with it.

That being said, there are some things you shouldn't be doing:

Profile Images: Keep your pfp pretty consistent. I know for one that when I'm looking for specific people on my dash I go after their pfp to know it's them. I suck at recalling usernames, so having that distinct image is good. So try not to change the pfp too much, and if you do keep it with the same character or theme. I normally just put my OC Slug as my pfp now, but in the past, before I really settled on what I wanted, it's been other things. Changing your banner is totally fine, nobody really cares, but try and be consistent for people to easily recognize you.

Changing Your Username: This was something I did and can say for a fact...don't do it. It screws with every single link you have which will be important in later categories like the Masterlist. Also, it'll cause some confusion. The only reason I changed mine was this originally was an account for reblogging shit, not writing. So once I decided I was going to make this into a writing account, I changed my username ASAP to reflect what I wanted to be known as.

Now, this is your blog, and you'll hear me saying this a lot in this little tutorial. You can do whatever you want, change your theme, change your pfp, do whatever. This is just what I recommend, but not a law. You're supposed to be having fun with it. If you do a total reconstruction on everything though, make a post to inform your followers so it can mitigate confusion, and maybe add to your bio that you changed some things.

Fandoms

You should decide the fandoms you want to write based on what your interests are, and what you'd enjoy writing. If you don't love the fandom enough, don't say you'll write for it. The luck gods will pinpoint that you don't enjoy writing it, and it'll become the fandom you're known for the most. Aka you'll be getting mainly requests for that instead of the ones you love.

I also recommend not writing for too many fandoms. If anything, stick to two or three if you want it to be multi-fandom. Things can get confusing and overwhelming really fast, so if you don't think you can keep up with it, then don't do it. Requests blogs are supposed to be fun, not stressful. However, it's your blog. You can do whatever you want, and don't let anyone tell you anything else. If they don't like you, then they can simply block and move on with their day.

Creating A Proper Page Bio

So you know that little bio you got at the top of your blog, along with a header? Fill those out properly. This is going to let people know who you are from a glance, and I think it's important because that's the first thing I read when I go to someone's blog. It doesn't have to be anything long, but here are some key points I recommend having.

Blog Title: Personally mine is "Unhinged Writer"; it's been like that for a hot minute and when I started to take requests I made the personal decision to not change it in fear that it might break my links again. I doubt it does, but who knows. I recommend having either a catchy title or something simple like "Fandom Request Blog". It's not uber-important, but def have something there.

Name: Have your name in your bio so people know what to call you by. It can be a nickname or whatever, originally I just had Salt in there since it's the name I go by, but a lot of people call me Slug so I recently added it in there. Give people a name to call you by, please.

Age: Now you don't have to put your age, especially if you're a minor. Just put "Minor" in your bio if you want so people know "Hey, let's not send adult conversations to this person". I like to have my age in the bio because I just don't care.

Pronouns: This is another simple one...if you want to be referred to as specific pronouns let the people know. I like to always get pronouns correct so this is helpful when it's in your bio.

Request Status: Let them know if your inbox is open or closed for requests. Simple as that, it lets the people know.

Fandoms: Let the people know what content will be on your blog. It can be as simple as saying "Hey, I write for Twisted Wonderland" and that's it.

Side Blog Or Main: Lots of people do follow-for-follow, so if it's a side blog just let people know. It also lets them know why you can't reply to comments if you don't want your main to be known.

Any Other Information: If you want them to know any fun facts about you, go ahead and let them know.

Masterlist/Introduction Page

I recommend doing a Masterlist...like highly recommend. Do it at the start of your blog, as well as an Introduction Page. I like to have them together and pin them at the top of my blog. So again, let's break these into two separate categories for ease of reading and organization! Also if you want to know what it looks like, feel free to check out my post to get inspiration for your own!

Masterlist

So for Masterlists the reason I highly recommend doing it is that people are going to be asking. It makes it easier for people to find exactly what they wanna read so they don't have to scroll through your blog for hours. This is especially important if you like to reblog stuff or answer non-request related asks, or even engage in battle with the ask box. I also say don't wait for this part...my first request blog actually doesn't HAVE a masterlist at all. That's because I was new to tumblr requests in general, I seldom followed other request blogs, so I wasn't aware of having a Masterlist would be so important. By the time people began asking me, I had already written at least over 150 requests, and the thought of going through each and every single one was nauseating. So do it before you get to that point and it'll make it easier on you.

So if you're writing for a lot of fandoms, I recommend having separate Masterlists posts. For me, I have a Masterlist for every single dorm so it's easy for people to navigate. The main Masterlist post you have should have hyperlinks to all the separate Masterlist postings. This is because the original posts will soon be buried with everything you post, so the links are needed. You can only have one pinned post to your blog, so have it be the main Masterlist. To explain things easier here are the steps:

Make a main Masterlist that will be pinned to the top of your blog.

Make separate masterlist posts for things (We'll call them Sub-Masterlists). Examples of what you'd make Sub-Masterlists for would be - Different Fandoms, Different Dorms, Etc. So if you're doing five different fandoms, have five different Sub-Masterlists.

In the Sub-Masterlist posts, make headers for each character so it's easy for people to scroll through and find who they want to read for.

Post the Sub-Masterlists to the blog. You can try and put them as private posts, but in my experience embedded links don't always work for them.

Get the links to all the Sub-Masterlist posts and add a hyperlink the main Masterlist. This is easy, if you don't know how to do it, just highlight the text you want to have the hyperlink (probably the Fandom's Name) and there will be an icon that looks like two chains together. Click that and it'll let you add a link to that text.

Viola, you got the Masterlist done! An optional thing is adding your "Rules Page" as a separate post as well and add a hyperlink in your Masterlist.

Bear in mind, you don't have to constantly be updating the Masterlist with every post you make. I normally wait till I have a few posts then pop them in the Masterlist, just so I'm not constantly having to do it. With asks, I recommend having people using a template you made (will be more in-depth in the "Rules" section). The reason for this is using the "Archive" feature on your blog is super helpful. Go to the main page of your blog and you can click a button that says "Archive" and it'll show you all your posts in a super easy preview format. If it's an ask, the preview will have the first few words of the ask itself. If you use a template you can see the character they're asking for. To add a hyperlink you just right click the post and select "Copy Link Address" and then you can add the hyperlink. Super easy and simple.

As for what goes into the Sub-Masterlists, it's simple. Once you write the request use your own Masterlist links to find the Sub-Masterlist and then scroll to the character's name. Hit "Edit Post" and add: (remember these are all optional, but I do say at least add in the first two bullets):

Title of the Request

If it's SFW or NSFW

If it's a headcanon, drabble, or a full length fic.

It should look something like this:

Character Name Title - SFW - Headcanon

Random Tip: In your Masterlist, if you have a joint account with multiple writers, color code the story title so people know who wrote it before they even click on the story!

Introduction/Information Page

Next is an introduction page. This is going to be like the bio you made, but more in-depth. You can put your name and other information here. I like to inform people in this area the type of requests I do (not too detailed, that comes later) as well as other misc. information. You don't need to add a lot, hell you can just copy most of the information from your blog bio. This is just an optional thing, but I prefer doing it. If you have more than one moderator for the blog, have separate introductions for each member here! I also say have each moderator have a specific color and show it here. On my other blog, my color is orange while Queenie is purple. So when someone sees purple text appear, they know it's Queenie is speaking, and vice versa...more information on this will be in the "Shared Blog Information"

Custom Hashtags

Something I like to add in the information page is custom hashtags. These are Hashtags that are unique to you, that nobody else on this site would probably ever use. The reason for having these are for one specific reason: for people to block. Some people are OCD about what appears on their blog, and if you happen to always be reblogging things or making random posts that isn't writing, they might get annoyed. Not to mention if you're having a reblog conversation with someone, the constant notifications can get annoying. Some things I recommend having custom hashtags for:

NSFW Content: If you're going to be writing SFW and NSFW, I say you should have a custom Hashtag for these. I use "Slug is Sinning" as mine, so if someone blocks it then they won't see the posts that I put out that have this.

Reblogs: If you're gonna be reblogging a lot of things, I say have one for those. Something simple like "Slug Reblogging Spree" or something like that.

Not Writing Asks: If you sometimes get people in your inbox just telling you to have a good day, that's amazing. Honestly it brightens my day when I get those. Some people don't care and would rather not see you post ten of those in a row as you go through answering them. I normally use my nicknames and just put "Slug Speaks".

Feral Time: I don't know if this is for everyone, but I sometimes go feral. This normally results in people in my inbox being mean and bullying me because they don't believe I'm actually 8ft tall. Add a hashtag if you're like me and you're typing in all caps while speaking to people and going hog-wild. I use "Feral Slug Hours" for mine.

One you might want to add that won't be for blocking is this:

Writers Name: This is if you're going to be having multiple people writing and running the blog. Have a custom hashtag for who is writing. You can use something like "Moderator Slug" and "Moderator Queenie". Just so people know who wrote it.

Add the custom hashtags and what they do to the Information Page so people have the choice in what they see on your blog. Obviously this is optional, but I personally find it helpful and a little considerate for your followers. You do you though, this is your blog. You're the god of it. If you want your followers to see your feral time unleashed with no choice, do it. If it's not their cup of tea they can unfollow, easy as that.

That's all for the Information/Introduction Section of your pinned post. I like to put the Information/Introduction below the Masterlist links because after someone reads it once, they won't read it again. They want to get to the Masterlist and having it on top is easier for them.

Rules and Information

This page will save your freaking LIFE. When I say it's one of the most important pages, I mean it. Let's break it down on things I recommend adding to your rules and information page. This is optional but I suggest it:

Introduction

Oh god another introduction, I know right? Well this is simpler than the others. This is just to say "Hey, I'm taking requests for X Fandom and Y Fandom." and if it's a joint blog say "Blue Text is X and Green Text is Y." There you go, Introduction is over. Painless, right?

Rules for Submission

Another simple one, these are your hard rules. Aka if someone doesn't follow your rules, you simply won't be writing for it. Be stern on your boundaries, you're doing this for free. You owe others nothing when you do this for fun. So be firm in what you say. If you don't want people sending you messages on when their request will be written, let the people know! Most are super understanding of your rules as long as it's not anything crazy.

If someone doesn't follow your rules, just delete their ask. I say don't publicly shame someone. If they're on anon and send in something breaking the rules, just delete it. If they're not on anon, answer it privately and request they check the rules before sending in another ask. If it happens several times you can answer it and just say "Hey, I keep getting asks like these. Please check my rules and information page before submitting things." Sometimes others just need to be reminded, and often times it's a mistake because someone didn't feel like reading everything on your rule page. Nudge them to it.

The Will and Won't List

These are going to be two lists of what you are willing to write, and what you absolutely won't be writing. Examples of what you will be writing would be "I'll write: SFW, Fluff, Angst, Yandere, Etc" Meanwhile the won't write can be "I Won't Write: NSFW, Gore, Specific Scenarios, Etc". You don't have to explain yourself on what you will or won't write. It's nobodies business but your own. All you have to do is say you won't write something, and that's all. If someone asks for something on the "won't write" list, delete it. If it keeps happening, again make a post and inform them that it makes you uncomfortable and to check your Rules page. If you want you can also block them.

Sadly if it's anon you can't block their blog, but you can block their IP address so they can't submit stuff anymore. Simply click on the three dots in the upper righthand corner of the ask and click the block button. They will no longer be able to send in stuff from their IP address.

Submission Template

This is optional and always goes at the top of my "Rules and Information Page". A submission template is something you make that others copy/paste into the ask box and fill out in order to have their request written! It's totally optional to have one of these, in fact most request blogs don't. I use these for a few reasons:

Mental Organization: I like to be able to see right off the bat if a request is going to be for a specific character, SFW or NSFW, and if they want a Headcanon or Drabble written. It helps me know exactly what they're asking for, so there's no guess work involved. This is how my brain works and it might be how yours works, or it might not! Whatever works for you is what you should be doing.

Archive: When I'm adding things to my Masterlist I use the "Archive" feature on my blog to look through and copy links to posts quickly. When they use the template then that information pops up in the little preview window. That way I don't have to click on a post to know "Oh, I need to add that to X character's Masterlist!"

Mass Tag Editor: Just like the Archive section above, it's the same concept. I don't use the Mass Tag Editor anymore since I have copy/paste tags I use in Google Docs (will go more into this in the "Behind the Scenes" Category). Some people do use this, and if it's you then the template is nice to have.

My template is simple:

Character Name | Platonic/SFW/NSFW | Headcanons/Drabbles - Request Information

Just let them know they have to use it in order for you to write the request. I'm extra and added a "How to Use" section incase there was any confusion. If you want, you can use this template as well for your requests. Go right ahead, sharing is caring! Or you can make your own, whichever works for you!

Behind The Scenes

Okay so this is optional, but it makes things so much easier on you. When I say it makes things easier I mean it. If not for the behind the scenes stuff, it would take forever to format everything I want to post, and would make it too tedious. This might take a while to do, so be prepared to dedicate a few hours if you go this route. It saves time in the long run. Also this might be the most lengthy part of the tutorial, so if you don't plan on utilizing this, then skip this entire section.

Utilizing Docs

If you have a google account, then you have this fancy thing called the "Google Drive"! It comes with this feature called "Google Docs" and this is where I live most of the time. If you guys saw my google doc you'd think I was crazy. I have folders for days, and they're color coded. I have one for both my request accounts and each one of them has essential things in them. If you don't use Docs for anything yet, then you won't need as many folders as I do. If you do, then here's how I organize my folders and documents (also photo reference so you guys know what I'm talking about):

Blog Folder: This is the most simple folder to make. This is going to have your Blog Name on it and this is where all the other folders go! Inside the Blog Folder I have two other folders: Templates and Posted Stories. I also have all my WIPS swimming outside of the other folders in this one. I won't go into the "Posted" Folder because that's self explanatory...it's everything that's already been posted or scheduled onto my blog. Here's an inside look of the folder:

Templates: This is where I keep all my templates and tag lists! Obviously in the "Making Templates" section I'll have more information for you. For now, this is what it looks like!

Individual Dorms/Fandoms: Those folders just leads to the dorm folders. If you write for multiple fandoms, have a folder for each one. I'm just crazy organized and have a separate folder for each character and dorm, but I promise you don't have to go this crazy with it. This is what inside one of those folders looks like!

So there you have it, a show and tell of my drive and organization. Now let's get into some of the documents and why I like using them so much!

Making Templates

This is super helpful for most people! Now while I personally go a bit crazy in making sure each character has a template made with their banner design and name in the title, you don't have to do this. Templates can be as simple or complex as you'd like!

I always say make sure you have:

The Character Name

The Title

An Author's Note (let's you interact with people, but you don't need it)

The Actual Writing

Hyperlinks to "Request Information" and "Masterlist"

Now the reason I use docs in particular for this is because of hyperlinks. Oh yes, we're back to those hyperlinks guys! So if you create a hyperlink in docs and then copy/paste it into tumblr, it retains it. This is especially important when you want to link to your Masterlist and Request Information in each post. Having to add in those links with each post can be tedious and get old very fast.

I recall in one of my tutorials I had mentioned that you can keep a draft in your tumblr that you can copy/paste from, but this can clog up your drafts and it is harder to find exactly what you're looking for in there, rather than if you had just made a google doc.

Another reason I use docs is because of formatting. If you click on "Header 1" in docs, write something, and then copy/paste it into tumblr, it'll translate that into the "Biggest" text setting. It also remembers everything you kept bolded and italicized, so it makes it so much easier to deal with. Personally formatting in docs is way easier than tumblr in my experience. Here's what my formatting looks like (and mind you, my character templates are outdated and will be receiving a bit of a retouch before I post my next long post)

Note: Don't use the "Title" formatting, use the "Header 1" instead. Tumblr doesn't have an equivalent to the "Title" text format, so it defaults to putting it as normal text. "Heading 1" translates to "Biggest" in the tumblr formatting, so you'll be using that instead. Second Note: Make sure you double space between paragraphs in docs! If you don't and then copy/paste it into tumblr, it'll look like a giant wall of text. If you use two spaces between each paragraph, it'll transfer normally. The only exception would be on mobile. If you're writing on docs on mobile then copy/pasting from there as well, don't add the double space or else it'll add extra spacing in tumblr.

Tag Lists

So the tag list, another essential function! Wanna know something fun about tumblr? You gotta tag your posts correctly in order to get people to see your stuff! Which means it's time to research specific tags and begin writing them down!

I use two giant lists of tags, one being sfw and one being nsfw, just for Twisted. Again, you don't have to go as crazy as I am, but I like it for how easy it is when needing to copy/paste things. Now Docs has this wonderful function where if you add a title or a header to something, it creates a sidebar for the "Outline" where you can then click the name of the title and it takes you to that location in the doc.

That's why I use tag lists on docs because I have character-centric tags and I have to navigate to their name in order to grab what I need. Here's what the outline looks like, as well as how I set up my tags:

Mind you, when making your tags you have to have a paragraph between each tag in order for tumblr to register that it's a different tag being inputted. This method means you just have to copy all the tags and then paste it into the tag section of tumblr, and they'll all be there. No need to do them individually...unless you're on mobile. Sadly for mobile users, it's a bit more complex. It doesn't register the same, so you'd either have to manually type all your tags, or copy/paste them one by one.

Making Banners/Dividers

This is easily the most optional part of this entire thing; this is an aesthetic change. I use character banners for anything but requests honestly, and that's just so people can tell requests apart from what I wrote on my own accord. If you're doing only requests though, consider using banners. They're honestly super easy to make using a website named "Canva".

It also helps your stuff stand out from others, so there's always a bonus there! Now when it comes to dividers, you can make your own simple ones like I do, or you can find them on tumblr. People make tons of animated dividers that are totally free to use, so you can use those in order to help divide up text!

Just some things I say to be careful of when using banners for posts:

Character Banner Names: So always add the character's name to the title, even if you're using a character banner for them. Sometimes, especially on mobile, images refuse to load. This means someone might not be able to see the banner, so having their name directly under the banner will let people know who you're writing instead of having to figure out by finding their name in your text.

Official Artwork: When I do character banners I always have their face on there. I make sure to always use official artwork since I don't have permission to use fanart that others make. If you either draw the images yourself, know the artist and get permission, or commission someone, then go ahead and use those. If not, I say stick to the original artwork.

Copy/Paste: Okay so I was absolutely raving about docs a few minutes ago, and now I'm saying there is a major flaw. If you use character banners and you copy/paste from docs or another tumblr draft, what happens is tumblr adds a "link" or something underneath the image. It's a small visual change that can be rather annoying. If you want to avoid this, make sure to keep all your character banners on Canva and copy those to clipboard for every post. I originally was doing this until I realized it was too much damn work. I took the bullet in dealing with the weird link underneath all my banners just to make my life easier. This is all up to you and how bad your OCD is with formatting.

Grammar

So this is an important one...you want to make sure everything has good grammar. This goes for things like your "Masterlist" and "Rules and Information" Pages. This is a representation of you, and often a first impression on your blog. So make sure you use proper grammar. Some things I don't recommend doing in these posts are:

No Capitalization or Punctuation I don't know what it is, but when I see someone who doesn't use capitalization or punctuation, I won't read their work. Even if it's just their Masterlist page, I simply won't. It fills a small rage in me that can't be quelled. If I see it, I assume their fics will be like that as well. If I'm reading something, I want the grammar to be decent at the very least.

Text Speech: Again, if I'm reading someone's Introduction Page and they type "u" instead of "you" I click off. Again, I assume their stories will be similar, and I don't want that.

Typos: Direct call out to me, the King of Typos. My typing speed is normally 2,000 words in 15 minutes when writing stories, so I have a lot of typos. It's why Queenie is so important because she fixes my lazy mistakes. I say go through your posts or have someone you trust do it before posting. Especially if you're like my and have a burning hatred for reading things you just wrote. Most people won't bat an eye at one or two of them, but if there's one every other sentence know that some people will click right off your story...just watch this tutorial be riddled in typos and make this bullet the most ironic thing.

I don't know if I'm finally getting old and it's just a new, stylized thing, but it reads as almost...lazy to me. I'm so sorry if that offends someone, I really am. It's not my intention, it's just my impression right off the bat. Again, maybe I'm getting too old, but I do have a lot of friends in the writing and reading community who agree, so perhaps I'm onto something?

Obviously it's your blog, you can do whatever you want. Don't let me tell you what you can or can't do, or tell you you're doing something wrong! If you prefer formatting like that for stylization, then power to you. Just know it might turn off a lot of readers, but it also might draw in some! Different people like different things, so you do whatever your little heart tells you to do!

Your First Posts

Okay so you got this far, amazing! This is just a lot of set up for running your blog, boring stuff, I know. I hate setting up things so much, but it makes running your blog so much easier. Now that you got it all set up, when are the people going to roll in? The thing is...they might not. Well...not until you do something. A Monkey might draw some random stragglers in, but when it begins dancing and singing musical numbers...people's heads are gonna turn.

What I'm saying is do some writing. You might be sitting there for a hot minute waiting for someone to stumble in without any content other than a Masterlist on your blog.

What I've done for my blog that I wanted to be a request centered blog, and one that was just for my writing, is I wrote. I started off simple: Character Headcanons. It lets people not only see you have content, but your let's them see your writing style. Once people see you posting headcanons or fics on their dash with all those sexy tags you curated earlier, they're gonna click on your blog. They're gonna click that gorgeous link you'll have at the top of all your stories that says "Request Information" and they're gonna be sending in stuff.

Don't expect people to see you're taking requests and just send something in without prior knowledge. Sure it's free content, but they want to know what you're capable of. They want to see your writing style, how you portray characters. If they like it, they'll want more and ask for it. That's how you get requests in. Don't just start a blog and then sit back expecting it to flood in your inbox. Put in the work and draw in a crowd. You're gonna have to dance to get a crowd, or else you're just gonna be a monkey chilling on the sidewalk.

Interacting with Others

This is also a SUPER IMPORTANT STEP! Get your name out there a little...interact with other blogs! Go through the community you're writing for and begin liking and maybe even reblogging their stuff and commenting on it! I know if I see someone who leaves interesting comments or hashtags on my posts, I'm checking out their blog.

Don't be such a recluse and get out there! Not to mention never be afraid to interact with people who reblog your stuff or comment! Sometimes having battles in your ask box is hilarious too, so have fun. You're still a human, so show the people for goodness sakes. Be social, I know it's scary. I'm an introvert to the max, but if you don't think I'll throw myself into someone's DMs and be like "I saw this artwork you did, mind if I write something on it?"

Balls out. The person on the other side of that screen is also still human (hopefully). They see some rando come into their DMs asking to write something based off their creation because it inspired them and they're gonna be like "Hell yes."

Interaction can be a bit harder when it's a side blog because you can't go into replies and put things in that way, and if you simply like a post it shows from your main. So reblogging and DMing is the only way (and no I don't mean DMing to promote yourself, people might get annoyed if you do that). Do what you can though and you'll see the fruits of your effort in time.

Promos:

So this is something I never once considered, but the other day I got mentioned by a new blog asking for a promo. This doesn't really hurt to do, as long as you already have stuff posted to your blog. Just @ some blogs and ask for a promo if they're willing. This person did it and several blogs actually did reblog their introduction page, so it never hurts to ask.

Taking Requests

Oh look at you, they grow up so fast! You're getting people in your inbox...you did make sure to go into settings and add in an ask box...right? Now you can finally begin writing those requests you've been wanting to get to so badly! It's kinda why we did all this...isn't it? To have fun writing requests? At least that's what I hoped you were here for...but I guess all this would apply to a writing blog as well if you think about it. It's kind of what I did when I originally was just going to have a dedicating writing blog, so in theory it's the same. Let's not get too side tracked, we're talking about taking your requests!

Alright so you got a request in now you just...write it. If you want tips on how I write a lot of headcanons, I did make another tutorial on how to do that. I also answered an ask the other day that has a simplified version of how I write smuts, but the same concepts can be applied to writing SFW as well.

So get out there and write some stuff, and be consistent. No, I don't mean posting every single day of your life, I meant in formatting. If you have a consistent format that goes with your blog theme, people will be scrolling and see it and be like "Hey, it's that writer!" If you went through the nightmare category of "Behind the Scenes" then it's a simple copy/paste for everything you're about to post!

The start will be slow with getting requests, and that's normal. Write what you can and post them. Once you begin getting more and more requests, consider scheduling things out! You can pop them in your queue, or if you want posts to go out on specific times and days, schedule them and space them out. That way if you ever take some time away from the blog, things will still be posted and people will see it and get hyped!

Finally...don't be scared to close the ask box. Once you get like 30 things in your inbox it might get overwhelming, so tell them you're inbox is closed and change your bio to reflect that. Catch up on what you can, then reopen when you're ready. There's no shame in it.

Bonus: Using Your Drafts

So when I get asks in my inbox, I like to drag them into drafts right away. Normally I copy/paste my template and tags into the request, fill out the character name and title, and then click "Save as Draft". I keep all of them in my drafts to help me organize them all better, so if I ever wanted to I could write stuff on my phone and not worry about formatting. It's all right there so all I do it post after it's written or schedule and viola, it's all done!

You can do this or just keep them in your inbox, totally up to you. I just found this method works better for me, and perhaps it'll work well for you as well!

Shared Blog Information

So having a joint account can be fun, especially if you need someone to help you. One of my requests blogs is co-owned by my good friend @queeniesrose . It can be super helpful to have someone assisting you, but there are limitations aka disadvantages...but there are also a lot of advantages so you wanna weigh your options.

Disadvantages

Has to be a side blog: You can't share a main account unless you decide to give them your login information. If you share an account, then it has to be a side blog only. This already poses limitations in itself, like not being able to leave replies on posts. So bear that in mind when making this decision.

No DMs: If you have a shared account, you can't have DMs on your side blog. I think this was a more recent change since at one point, Queenie and I could both reply to DMs on the side blog, but things changed. So if someone needs to DM you, they simply can't. You can always link your main account for them to message you, but if you want to keep it hidden then this isn't a good idea. You could technically make another side blog just for DMs though which is a small workaround.

No Tipping: Since it's more than one person running it, you can't accept tips. This isn't a problem for most; I only have the feature on so I could test it out for another blog of mine. If you want to have the feature enabled though, you have to run it alone. A workaround if getting a Ko-Fi account and linking it.

Advantages:

Help With Replies and Questions: When I say Queenie is my right-hand woman, I mean it. She helps me reply to questions and replies all the time. She lets me know what's going on in the blogs and the fandom as well. Having someone who can see the ask box and reply to things is a lifesaver. Especially if you get above a certain follower account, it is needed. Not to mention if I'm at work and she isn't, she can handle things that are going on and vice versa. If I need the inbox closed, she can generally do it for me. An absolute blessing to have some help.

More Writers: While Queenie doesn't generally do any writing for my blog, it's a special situation for us. You can have writer friends helping you run the account and writing requests. This will be super helpful if you do multiple fandoms, one person can write for each fandom. You can do it however you want, really!

Motivation: Bro...when I say sometimes you need motivation I MEAN IT. Having others helping you can really kickstart it, so don't look down on the thought.

Editing: So Queenie is mainly my editor, it's why she doesn't do the writing. She will go through the drafts and edit things and fix typos and grammar before posts go up, even adding them to the schedule. It's super helpful when busting out content!

If you go this route, make sure you have clear communication with the others on the blog, and that you trust them. You have to give admin rights in order for them to answer requests, which means they could delete the blog since they own it. So bear in mind, and also make sure the workload is divided well between you guys. If you're writing with others, a good technique is to "answer" the request and put it in drafts first, and just put your name on it so they know you'll be writing that one.

I also went briefly into detail in the "Masterlist" section, but color coding text is helpful, especially when replying to asks that aren't request related! Seeing a distinct color for the different Mods let's them know who's speaking without checking the tags if they've been on your blog before!

In Summary

Remember, this isn't some holy grail of what you have to do. I've run one request blog for over three years, this is stuff I learned through a lot of trial and error. It's not hard after you initially set things up, honestly the set-up is the most tedious part. It makes the rest so much easier though which is why I recommend doing it.

This is your blog. You can do whatever you want with it. Have fun with it, please!

Okay... I'm ready

Anon, you know me, I like my cheerful bubbly men to have that certain pinch of danger, that touch of obsessive, I mean- how many is it now? With Scar and Impulse, Grian, to a certain degree and they're just the specifically cheerful ones (Xisuma doesn't count, not yet). But Beef? VintageBeef himself?

I do write him as someone with a lil something slithering beneath his handsome, beaming smile, but when you categorized it as hunger, anon I have to say, it all started to make sense.

It's easy, I think, to look at Beef at a distance, see his charming smile, the excitable way he talks, his bouncy bubbly personality and take that as face value. Just as easy to disregard the sharpness of his canines and that look in his eyes, everything he's buried under the heavy layers of restraint and self control.

He knows himself, knows what he's capable of and only a handful of people have scratched the surface of it. But he loves his friends y'know, from the past and all through the present and he knows himself, what he's capable of and he's spent so much time reigning himself in, moulding himself until the danger is all but gone and love's the only thing he's capable of offering.

That doesn't mean his teeth aren't sharp though.

So! The herding dog and the wolf are friends and they spent a good chunk of the past together and they know- eh I'd say most of each others capabilities. Where does our lovely lamb fit in?

Well, Mumbo has a certain... magnetism around him, even with how aloof he was in the beginning, how rare his interactions were (we've talked about this before and will do in the future), but its in both Beef and Doc's nature to be drawn to him.

It only really started during season 5, just... surface-level stuff, a budding curiosity. It felt like both of them were at the cusp of something significant. But there were many other distractions, a lot more games, and they both left early so it didn't really go anywhere in the end.

Season 6 came and Grian did his thing, now Mumbo was a little less avoidant and a little more present. Doc was there, his eyes now looking at Mumbo, rapidly growing fonder, but Beef wasn't and Doc had let his guard down.

Season 7 and Beef was back! Doc, caught in the joy of the reunion didn't even think to put his guard back up and honestly? He didn't really need to at this point. Beef had spent the season away further dulling his claws after all.

But again, that damn curiosity, not to mention the fact that Doc had already sated his.

During the welcome back party Doc had taken it upon himself to catch him up to things he missed, talking his ear off as he eagerly listened. But as the night wore on and their supply of alcohol dwindled, Doc's tongue got looser and looser and the man is talkative when he's drunk.

Who knows how their conversation steered towards Mumbo as they huddled closer and closer, Etho and Bdubs already conked out for the night, maybe Doc just recognized his past hunger brimming on the edges of Beef's cordial smile, but he spared no detail and that made that age old curiosity burn.

Beef would then find himself subconsciously stalking Mumbo, keeping his eyes pinned on him like he was prey. Time passed, the honeymoon happens and maybe this is why Beef was like that, so sure of himself, so... in the know. Maybe the honeymoon wasn't as spontaneous as it could've been even... who knows.

I just think it's funny that the wolf only got to the lamb because the herding dog barked when he wasn't supposed to.

How did Leo became a kid?

I've sort of already explained this a bit in the comic, but I'm gonna go into a bit more detail here just for clarity's sake!

Spoilers for the kid leo comic as well as the rottmnt movie, so if you don't wanna know all the details of his mystic powers this is a warning!!

SO! at the beginning of the comic, it's sort of right after Leo traps himself in the prison dimension - everything is the same as in the movie up until Mikey closes the portal. Once Mikey closes the portal, he begins to evaporate and basically is getting destroyed (like the beginning of the movie). Leo sees this and even though he doesn't know how, he's trying his very best to save Mikey. In doing so he unlocks a new mystic power - time travel!!!

A lot like how Mikey can create portals/time portals, Leo can time travel using his mystic abilities. However, he is able to do so without opening a portal because he's not REALLY traveling to a different time, but his body is(aging and de-aging himself p much) So basically when he was trying to save Mikey, he sort of transferred the last ten years to him - because he JUST unlocked the power and can't control it, he couldn't control how many or what years to exchange.

I hope I'm explaining this clearly cause it makes sense to me in my head but I can't find the original doc I explained it in, so I'm just trying to figure it out as I type.

Basically, Leo unlocks new mystic power - self time travel. He can age and de-age his body ( which is helpful to learn about things in the future ) he can also transfer a number of his own years to someone else - though it was more of a desperate attempt to save Mikey in this case. Since Mikey was about to die, his age didn't change. Leo could not choose when the years came from (his future or his past) and thus was turned into a child.

Since he's at an age where he doesn't know anything about mystic powers and has yet to unlock his ninpo, he cannot willingly change back - however, he will be able to once he unlocks his ninpo again and figures out how. So he is down 10 years, but that is a problem for future Leo.

(as for Mikey having an additional ten years, they'll just have to figure that out when it comes up - but at least he's alive now!)

I desperately hope this makes sense, I know it's not a perfectly reasonable idea but I tried really hard to make this mystic bullshit more realistic

This is probably going to be more than you expected but I am at a stage where I'm pretty disappointed with the actions Harry and Louis have taken over the last three-ish years. Babygate especially. Like Harry's shit is embarrassing but Louis' behavior has made me really change my view of him. I just don't recognize the boys I was once a massive fan of. And before anyone comes at me with 'the boys don't owe you anything' or 'you hate closeted people'. No. I'm allowed to have opinions without feeling owed something or hating closeted people. I think a bunch of people have been turned off as well. As for those who have stayed, it seems that most people on my dash are content with Louis touring and are excited for HS4 from Harry. I can't really relate because even though I like their music and go to their shows, it's not the main reason I'm here. It will always be 1D over their solo careers every day of the week for me. And it will always be Harry and Louis as individuals and as a couple over their music careers. Because for me their music careers will always be accompanied by stunts, manufactured images, pushed narratives and agendas, and unsavory people. This didn't bother me as much during the band days or during the first couple of years of the hiatus because we would get a lot of content to mitigate the fakeness or ugliness. But now it's just getting a bit too tiresome to constantly keep looking under the surface. Because I sure as hell am not going to accept the Harry and Louis I get at face value most of the time because they are simply not worth supporting unless you look deeper.

i actually really appreciate you taking the time to type that all out for me because i really do want to have an honest discussion. i think your feelings make total sense honestly. babygate has been so bewildering lately i barely know what to make of it and i think that has caused me to just feel disinterested in all this. it only took almost 12 years lmao. i’ve always said that even though we don’t know the intimate details of why they do what they do, it’s still perfectly valid not to agree with it. and i definitely didn’t agree with freddie being in the doc. and another year of him in donny for christmas… woof. idk man. i think i’ve been using my newfound interest in kpop as an excuse to ignore harry and louis because i don’t know how to feel 😶

Analyzing jeffrey dahmer & dennis nilsen natal charts

So I came across a serial killer named Dennis nilsen who reminds me a lot of jeffrey dahmer. I found some interesting information about them,

If you haven't heard of them, if you're into true crime I highly suggest watching some documentaries on them like I did.

Both are gay serial killers who started killing in 1978, even though I believe they are 20 years apart (dennis being older then jeff) it's weird that they commited these acts in the same year, which got me curious about what the heck was going on in that time that could of caused this.

A few details I learned about them:

Jeff is from the US & Dennis from England. What caught my attention is that they look so similar & they also have similar backgrounds. What's different about each one is that dennis seemed more emotionally available then jeff did, I guess bc his motive wasn't just to kill.

Not only are they alike but apparently both of their 1st murder victims were named steven. Idk what that means in numerology or spiritually but the fact that they have so much in common freaks me out, like universally these 2 killers must of had a connection 🤔

Now to the juicy stuff..

(The aspects in their natals are right after this section)

I looked up that years birth chart from the time span of each of their 1st kills & the only thing that obviously stood out to me is that there was Uranus in Scorpio from june during Jeff's 1st murder continuing through December on dennis's 1st murder.

My thoughts..

It's so interesting that the moon and uranus was transiting into Scorpio for jeffrey dahmer on his day, with the sun conjuncting his natal sun.

& with dennis nilsen uranus was in scorpio still and venus was transiting into scorpio too which is also his natal placement, along with mercury conjuncting his natal sun & natal mercury on his night.

Now let's pull up their natal charts.

Jeffrey Dahmers natal below:

May 21, 1960, 4:34pm.

Dennis Nilsens natal below:

November 23, 1945, 4am.

My interpretation of all this..

What's crazy as I'm looking at both of their charts is that they apparently have libra risings almost at the same exact 19 degrees 🤯 + the same thing with their suns at 0°

Also the fact that they have sister venus signs is another thing that stands out to me + sister sign suns, like that should tell you how much sister signs are so alike imo.

For jeffrey dahmer he didn't have much scorpio besides his neptune but if his birth chart on astrotheme is correct then he had a 8H stellium. That's so spooky to me.

Neptune in scorpio: describes someone who isn't afraid to explore the dark side of things, they like uncovering the secrets that no one should know about. They are comfortable knowing what others don't know and hiding in the shadows, no one really knows who they are bc they keep so much to themselves.

Uranus in scorpio transit: Scorpio a sign that associates with occult, sex, deep topics, breaking the rules, risky things + adding that into planet uranus which is shocking, eccentric, different. Put them together & you get sex or interests that are shocking, insane, unique. Both of these serial killers were necrophiles.

Jeffrey's house placements/natal aspects:

Venus trine saturn: Jeff knew how to conceal his true motives and interests, tastes, attraction.. he knew how to be perceived as a normal, regular, average looking person.. he strategically did not share much of his love life or any of that with anyone, it seemed like he was a nice, easy going, neutral person. He probably learned this behavior from his dad/past experiences, on how to not look like a crazy, unstable person. He did go the army and there they pretty much teach you how to survive in the world, how to defend yourself, how to take care of yourself, how to follow orders, practicing cleanliness and working hard. He gave off a pleasing and calm venusian/saturn vibe but little did anyone know who he was deep down

Mars square jupiter: Prone to extreme excess, he may have been the type of person who covers up his awkwardness and uncertainty by overdoing things. They did say he was a class clown and would do weird/crazy things for attention in school and I think this aspects explains that. Instead of expressing his anger, passion, desire, energy in a healthy way, he ends up doing too much. This also describes his impulsive ways and taking reckless risks that could be embarrassing later on. Not a good aspect to have on top of aries moon/mars both in aries. He has strong compulsions that he could not tone down. He was probably very rude too like if someone didn't agree with him he would say the meanest things in the moment. Mars square jupiter to me would describe someone who doesn't care about the consequences of their actions, they're too impulsive to realize them. Can be extremely aggressive, rude, confrontational, somewhat disobeying the law/society's structures.

Having such different POV from everyone around him that he felt kinda isolated with his belief system, religion and passions. To me this also says he didn't respect other people's beliefs only his own, selfish.

Moon square saturn: This definitely explains his abandonment issues, maybe he felt abandoned by his dad or care giver in general. He didn't have care, love, support from his parents. He could be emotionally immature, which only further isolated him. Socially awkward, cold, unemotional, distant, depressed/depressing to be around is how someone would see this person. To me jeffrey dahmer had abandonment issues and trauma from being lonely and left behind, this not only happened with family but with his "friends" too. So mostly likely to avoid feeling abandoned again instead of facing his issues and healing them, he resorted to killing people and keeping them with him forever. That was his form of revenge and getting control over his emotions, instead of them controlling him or making him feel abandoned/unloved ever again. Tbh I understand not feeling cared for... he must of been hurt so much to go to this kindof extreme just to avoid feeling pain. His parents could have also belittled him a lot and either blamed him for things or damaged his sense of security.

One of the victims who escaped him did say that as soon as they mentioned to dahmer that they had to leave, dahmer had started to panick all of a sudden and tried to make them stay by force but they got away anyway.

Mercury square pluto: Extremely obsessive mind/tendencies.

A squared aspect to me shows excessive and unbalanced actions, does provide energy to whatever it's aspecting. So it's an active aspect.

This explains his love for exploring the unknown side of life, for forcing his way past what's considered acceptable. This aspect could also explain someone who stalks others, invades personal space in the most offensive/disgusting way, extremely controlling up to the way people think around them. Wasn't afraid to face the most darkest/occult-like things. He was private with his own personal life but when it came to his victims for example they didn't have any privacy or respect at all, dahmer basically took away all their rights.

To describe this aspect, imagine a private investigator who's supposed to be finding information about a specific event, this person would do more then they are even allowed to do. They will break rules, moral codes, disrespect the law, even do illegal things to get to the bottom of whatever it is they have to do. Like working off the clock and doing your own personal investigation. So socially acceptable behavior/ideas is something a person with this aspect would not have. It pretty much explains the fact that jeffrey dahmer enjoyed killing animals and dissecting their insides, no normal person would go to that length to fill their curiosities. And he continued with this behavior when he started harming humans as well, he was dissecting human hands from his victims and their organs etc. It's like he wanted to see how things worked, what action triggered a reaction. So like injecting acid into a human brain to see if they could be his "zombie sex slave" alive/obedient and unable to defend themselves was his goal. He did lots of experiments I'm sure. Not only that but I noticed that he was not afraid to face death or things a person should not ever see, he was completely comfortable having heads in his refrigerator, the smell of death in his apartment 24/7, even as a kid seeing roadkill didn't even phase him or replulse him like it would anyone else.. so that to me says his comfort level was extreme, he probably wasn't shocked by much tbh.

Moon square Mc: He probably felt unsupported by the people around him, like his comfort style was not relatable to the public. Maybe his emotions, his sense of security was not something everyone could relate to. It was visible to everyone that jeffrey dahmer was a unique, odd, strange person. He could of used people and bodies as a form of security, having them fully to himself, owning them, controlling them made him feel like he had a support system/safe place.

He did try to show off some of the bodies he had, apparently he had a kept a human head in a chest that his grandma gave him and he took that to work, keeping it in his locker. To me that is someone who is proud of what they've done and is showing it off like some trophy/reminder of the power they have. No one knew what was inside the chest but him and that made him feel powerful that he had FULL control of this poor person he mutilated.

His attachments were very different from everyone else's, like to an extreme extent. Most people have attachments to caffeine like me or other things like drug, food, codependency addictions.. but Jeff's was clearly much different..

Venus square uranus: Odd sexual/romantic interests, taste/type, he was probably attracted to odd people or just had unique interests that you would look at him and say "there's no way he's interested in that, he looks like such a normal guy"

This aspect doesn't have to be sadistic like Jeffrey's interests, in general it could explain someone who ends up with partners that are much different from themselves. Like a normal quiet, attractive, man with a crazy, weird, unconventionally attractive woman. So basically is shows an attraction to uniqueness, to a unhealthy extent. In Jeff's case and since this is a squared aspect he had odd even shocking romantic/sexual attraction to death/people. Unusual interests, very specific type and open minded enough to try things sexually that no one's done before, testing the limits of your sexuality. Jeffrey dahmer was so sexually advanced and charged that he probably needed to do crazier and crazier things overtime to keep him satisfied and interested. He probably never had a stable love life if one at all.

Jupiter trine pluto: To me this aspect explains that he enjoyed being in the company of people who were much different from him, with different backgrounds, probably sexual attraction to foreign people. Many of his victims were poc, I think he felt powerful around poc for some reason. Like he knew the power and influence of his "whiteness" that's just my opinion idk how true that is tho, if he used his position to get away with everything. He said in an interview that it wasn't about race and just about how people looked but who knows. Back in the 1970s and 1980s I'm not sure how much racism was a thing back then. If you know anything about that I would love to hear your thoughts.

Moon trine uranus: This could be someone who is comfortable with being different and unique, maybe their emotions were erratic and highly changeable, very smart/intuitive tho. This could be another reason he got away with so much bc he was able to think on his feet and come up with lies on the spot but that could also be enhanced by his mercury/sun conjunction in gemini. They are such good smooth talkers. This aspect also explains that he was not your average monogamous driven person, he liked to have a variety of different interests and probably unique relationships. Like dating their friends, being polygamous, just overall having an unusual love style. His emotions were prone to being quickly triggered and then just as quickly disappearing as if nothing happened. People would have a hard time trying to understand or pin point his emotions. If he was nervous or anxious he could display a straight emotionless face, which makes sense bc even after the police was inside his apartment he was able to manipulate them well enough to believe his lies and not be suspicious.

Taurus in the 8th house: This is an interesting placement, it could explain his intense interest for physical features and sex. He would admire people's bodies after they deceased, he would pose them and take multiple pictures of them in different stages/positions. This could also describe why he liked to eat his victims, like arousal from eating them. Both taurus and 8th house/scorpio are extremely sexual. This could be another reason he preferred to have full control of his victims, so they were not allowed to talk back, fight back, ask for anything in return, he just wanted to have full authority and rulership. He also had a very specific type in people, he paid close attention to every small detail of their bodies and features, he had favorites. Bc his favorite movie to watch that apparently put him in the mood to find victims was exorcist 3. The main character was called the gemini killer and I looked into the movie to see what it was about and some sick things were said in it that I bet jeffrey dahmer practiced on his actual victims... he was very impressionable and probably worshipped evil entities/figures. 6h Pisces could also be someone with boundaryless, unorganized, health routines?? Like if this person was unhealed they would do lots of drugs, drinking, not brushing their teeth/showering etc stuff like that. If anything they would pay least attention to details and be kinda unaware of their bad habits. Or it could be the other way around like they cover up all their bad habits to seem perfect when they are far from it. He also did try to connect with the dead, I read somewhere he would have seances with an ouija board when he was younger.

Mars conjunct pluto: My 1st thought on this aspect is annihilator, this person was aggressive, deep, intense, bold, if they're mad at you I would stay far far away. I feel like someone with this aspect would not be afraid of confrontation, if anything they are the ones everyone's afraid of. His expression/passion is straight forward and he wants to explore the dark depths of everything that peaks their interests. My personal opinion is that mars conjunction pluto would automatically make someone a killer/prone to be. If that's not it then they have the potential to be that if you're a threat or give them a reason to become aggressive.

Travis the chimp has this aspect...if you haven't heard of him I suggest looking him up. Travis the chimp I think knew that his owner was giving him medications (xanax) to calm down and go to sleep and he didn't like it so he blew up and lashed out on his owners best friend who came to help her get Travis under control. He should have never been domesticated but the reason I bring him up was bc he severely mutilated his owners best friend.. ripping her face off, biting her fingers off and he would not stop for anything. Even after being stabbed in attempt to stop him.. that should explain to you the intensity of mars conjunct pluto.

Their anger is quick, fast reactions, suspicions, high energy, physically or energetically strong, assertive. He was possibly passive at some point in his life and would do so much for others but eventually things were not reciprocated end up building resentment and resorting to forcing their way, having this obsessive need to get your needs met. He was possesive, jealous, controlling. In the documentaries they mentioned it was less about sex for dennis and more about the company but with this aspect I feel like his sexuality must have been very strong...

Moon conjunct mc: I think this aspect would describe someone who is so sensitive to the feelings of strangers and the public, they might be easily affected by their surroundings esp during childhood. He did have some traumatic experiences as a kid like his mom asking him if he wanted to see his grandpa (who was his fav person), only to realize his grandpa was dead in a box... idk about you guys but I wonder if she did that on purpose to hurt his feelings. But that situation definitely has affected the way he viewed relationships in his adult life.. he started to associate love, peace, trust, safety with death.

Moon conjunct saturn: His emotions were very repressed, not to say that he wasn't an emotional person but it sure seemed like it on the outside. He was probably constantly reminded of his past and all the mean nasty things he's done and what was done to him. His mother must have been very cold and not nurturing, which left him very Insecure and unloved. He has always felt like the responsible one when it comes to nurturing himself and parenting himself since no one was around to do that.

In the documentary of dennis nilsen his mother said she felt uncomfortable around him and was "repulsed" so unlike all the other kids he didn't receive the same affection as the others. She tried to explain this as if it's his fault for her not being a good mom tho..I personally as a mom idc if me and my child have differences I will always be there to make them feel loved and secure. I think his mom was very stern with him and treated him like a worker bee.

Mars conjunct saturn: With this aspect maybe his sexual desires were held back a bit, he could have either had strong discipline or just felt like he wasn't able to preform bc of overthinking, constant self judgement. For some reason he felt it was his duty to be there for others and be the responsible person. Maybe he did too much to help others or become likeable, which pushed everyone away.

Mars conjunct mc: He had the strong desire to make his public life something he put a lot of effort into, he wanted to be recognized, respected, seen for all his good qualities. Strong, passionate, bold, adventurous, independent. Sometimes he may have been seen as selfish and overbearing. They did say on his documentay that he had a good job and on the outside looking in, he just looked normal. It was probably bc he had a lot to hide, so this mars conj mc was a cover up for his real life/interests.

Venus square pluto: A person with this aspect might have an unhealthy obsession with whoever they find attractive, they fall in love easily/deeply, become infatuated with people to the point of stalking. This person has deep control issues that stem from jealousy and insecurities. I feel like dennis nilsen may have been intimidated by alive people, bc humans in general have free will and are able to do whatever they please. But a passive unalived person would not be able to pose a threat to him or hurt his ego, so it's like he wanted to kill all competition and any uncomfortable feelings that may make him feel inferior like he has in the past.. there may have been some trauma related to that, feeling helpless and inferior. So that's why he overpowers others instead of expressing himself in a healthy way.

might be a very complex person in general and no one really wants to take the time to get to know all their layers so they end up feeling isolated and weird.

Mars semisquare uranus: his actions/energy may have been unpredictable and messy, one sec he was fine next minute he was not. This may have been what turned people away from him, he may have acted strangely at the worst moments. Making inappropriate comments or doing inappropriate things. He could of been highly intuitive with his actions/assumptions, but other people were sometimes not as ahead of time as he was so everyone seen him as a crazy unstable person. He was probably impatient and not always reliable

2nd house in scorpio/8th house in taurus: He basically craved loyalty, security, love, intimacy. So he got that by finding the perfect person and making that his main goal. What was valuable to him (same thing for dahmer) was having a loyal, subservient, solid, predictable person in their lives. All they wanted was the assurance that whoever they loved wouldn't leave them, not question them, completely trust them.. trust is something that was hard to find for these two people. I bet they were so intense and strange that people felt unsafe around them. But overall with the 2h Scorpio + 8h in taurus, to them possessing a person was the end goal. They were obsessed with having a physical, tangible, person/thing there with them, it gave them so much security to know they had full control over someone.. even if it was by force.

Eyyy, geranium scene!

It's funny because geraniums are seen as almost plain here. They get used a lot in, like, planters for strip malls and such because they're hardy, drought-resistant beasts that need very little care and grow nicely from cuttings so they're cheap AF to reproduce and spread around. (BTW, if you ever want to add some pretty geraniums you see out in public to your yard/patio/whatever, you can just "borrow" a nice stem from that plant, take it home, and probably grow it for yourself.)

Vash is a growing boy. Of course he's thinking with his stomach.

As someone who has tended to them, I can confidently say that geraniums are definitely determined....

This doesn't have anything to do with the manga; I just want to note the number of times I've tried to navigate these pages by pushing left instead of right on my keyboard ('cause that's the way you read manga) is really, really high.

The contrast between the doctor's optimism and Brad's pessimism. Also, doc's viewing glass.

Wolfwood is having WAY too much fun spectating here. He looks like he's genuinely enjoying the chaos of it all.

Even scum can beg for its life when the tables are turned. Is the regret true and will it stick, or will being allowed mercy only open the door to further atrocities down the line? Do we have the right to decide?

Vash is making a choice, and it's not a choice to do nothing.

Hehhhh, people saying, "What do you know about my pain?" to Vash. Yes, this kind of pain is unique and individual, and Vash hasn't been through anything quite like losing a daughter in such a horrific fashion (that we know of; he is quite old), but he does understand both horrific loss and unimaginable betrayal, as well as the grief, self-blame, and feelings of utter helplessness that can come in its aftermath.

Poor Vash. He looks like hell after that fight. Probably feels like it, too.

Vash gave the father time to not become a murderer, and that's the sort of thing that would be of infinite value to Vash.

This panel, though. Important character notes here. In fact, one might say the only person Vash might not see as family on this planet is his very own twin.

The doctor sure has some trust in Vash getting out of things. And... he probably knows Vash well enough to know Vash would regret if his situation caused trouble for the doc and the rest of the people on that steamer.

LOL, Wolfwood, making a dramatic entrance, ready to bust through everything with hot lead and his beloved bike. He looks like an antihero arriving to save his kidnapped woman.

Hahahahahahaha, he pretty much buried Vash in rubble with that entrance. Mmmmmaybe didn't think it all the way through....

This panel has the same energy as Wolfwood telling Vash that kicking a rocket out of the air was "fucking stupid."

Awww, Wolfie, your heart of gold is showing....

We're just gonna ignore these panels where WW warns Vash that one of these days, pushing his luck won't work and he'll have to choose. I'm sure there's no foreshadowing in that whatsoever. Nope, none at all.

Ok, I tried to ignore it, but I also want to note I think Stampede did an excellent job capturing this running theme of how Vash is walking a precarious path trying not to choose. I don't remember that theme at all in '98. (Not saying it wasn't there; just saying it doesn't stand out in my memory.) Meanwhile, it's not just core to Vash's story in Stampede, but it's core to Meryl's and Wolfwood's stories in Stampede, too, even if in theirs, it's not mentioned so explicitly by the narrative.

Goshdarn it. That stupid Hitler-moustached, too-tall bowler hat guy is still here. Yes, yes, I know he wasn't dealt with so he can't just leave. But I want him to leave because it's better than him being in the narrative.

SEE?!!? GOOD PEOPLE DON'T HAVE PEOPLE PUPPETS LIKE THAT. SEND BOWLER HAT GUY BACK!!!

Uuuuhhhhh.... Look, I get that Legato (like a good percentage of the major characters in this story) likes fetish gear, but wearing a freaking iron maiden is taking it to a whole 'nother level.

Also, is he really big, or is this new creature person very small, or is the panel just framed weird for weird perspective? Questions....

Oh, so the '98 anime had already started by the time this collection came out.

"First half of the story." LOL, half. Lies. But this might be a bit of a translation error. I've seen it elsewhere. Seems like (and I could be wrong here since I'm not a Japanese language expert by any means) the Japanese terms for parts of things don't necessarily mean equal parts like they do in English. To clarify, in English, if we say "a third," we mean 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1, but the Japanese term that usually gets translated into 1/3 (三分; literally "three parts") can also mean 1/3 + 1/2 + 1/6 = 1. It's still referring to one part of three out of the whole, but that part is not necessarily equal to the other parts. Then again, the characters usually used for "half" are 半分 rather than 二分, and to the best of my knowledge, 半 does indeed mean equal halves, so maybe I'm wrong in this instance. I don't know, I'm not reading this in Japanese and I've only studied the language for like 3 years, which is nothing for Japanese.

Hahahahaha, sounds like Trigun is a bit of a case of the story running away with the author. It happens sometimes.

Hallo! I keep forgetting to link my fics n tumblr but I didn't forget this time!

So fun stuff, I used a clip of my own Crucible match for this chapter. And that clip resulted in a mercy after four minutes! Omg it's crazy how much is happening in such a short amount of time. I promised a friend I'd like show my process for this chapter and I am using this post as an excuse to the process lol.

So first I needed a source video of course. And I couldn't really just take some match off the internet cause I did want to be specific with what I had equipped. I knew I gave Rin an Arc Logic earlier so I had to grab myself an acceptable copy of one. But the Scout of hers isn't based off any in-game one tbh. But I have a massive love for Perseus-D so I decided to just use that as an acceptable replacement. Since Rin is mostly based off how I play the game normally, I ran the usual gear I wear. Wasn't gonna be a problem if knife hands got used at all in the match. After that, I just had to hope I queued into either the Jav-4 or Convergence map. Those two are my favorites and that's where I wanted her first match to be! Happened to be Jav-4 first.

The fun part was trying to adapt this without the Strand stuff lol. Since at the point of my story not even Stasis has been discovered. Anyways after getting the video then I kinda write out what I experienced on some sheets of paper. Think of it as a rough draft. The starting of me translating what I experience into text form.

From there I take that and then put a City Children lens on it. This goes into an actual doc and since this can be more detailed as I give myself notes and ideas for actual writing. Here's a snapshot of that cause it does take a few pages worth of text.

After this I start actually writing the chapter. While that happens I do cross out the text on the second draft doc. Just helps my eyes from glazing over as I look over all the funny words. Honestly doing all this helped me actually realize some of the callout names for Jav-4! Since the radar provides a name for an area, and to keep my mental map proper I ended up figuring out a decent chunk of the names! Who knows I might actually use them when playing lol.

Pretty much any chapter that focuses on the action has this kinda process to it. The Sundial went thru it! Tho since I didn't have a good PC back in Dawn, I never saved a video of one of those runs. Esoterickk is a true god I used one of his videos on it for reference. Which was still kind of fun! Had to interpret someone else's perspective.

Uh, I guess that's it for this chapter! The process details ended up taking a lot more time to write down than expected lol. If I'm lucky the next chapter won't be 7k words and get out a little quicker. It's not combat focused this time so I don't really need to go thru this process! Though. I have has to use another Esoterickk vid on the Corridors of Time as my memory is fuzzy. Fun hint-hint on what the next chapter is about hehe

Oh hello new friend :D Thanks for asking!

So I can talk a bit about what's been happening with me lately lol I think it can be important for a lot of us, especially in kind of the climate we're in as creatives right now. And while the story might not seem very happy at first, I am still happy to share so others might not feel alone if they're wandering, too.

Something about my original writing:

So I went to college for Creative Writing. I had started in English Edu, and switched about halfway through for many reasons but suffice to say if I didn't do what I loved, that degree would still be unfinished. My goal was to get into editing, if I could, and eventually write a book. After college, my full time, in-office jobs at first had nothing to do with writing. I was doing things like tech support, sales and data entry until I got into advertising. And I was editing, using my degree, but I was also more using my skills from sales. And here we stumble into something of a burnout problem. I was working so many hours on unrelated nonsense that I simply did not have the energy to stay awake half the time, let alone write. And I was away from the desk for so long that when I returned, I felt couldn't manage a single good thing. I kept trying even during the dumpster fire the last few years has been collectively.

I'll time skip for the sake of the story. The cure for burnout is simply rest, regardless of it's professional/career burnout or creative burnout or a combination of the both of these things. One doesn't always realize this in the middle of the issues, though. So here I was barely writing anything that I'd be willing to share, frowning terribly at the blank page every opportunity and just being down on myself and my work. I wrote a couple flash fiction pieces, and plenty for dnd but I'd kind of lost track of my goal of writing THE BOOK, ya know? So I decided I was done with feeling so, I guess, unmoored about it all and I wanted to return to longform projects without second guessing myself at every turn. And I broke the spiral, because it was a spiral, by returning to fandom and starting my fic.

So my original writing, long story short, is short form for the most part! And I want very much to finish a novel. I'm giving myself the space to practice again with fic and prove to myself what I am capable of. It's a slow process, healing, but I am and it translates back at every step. I don't tie my original works to this screenname but a few of my fic writin' and Skywind writin' friens have read a bit here and there of both my dnd and my original short stories. It feels good to not feel bad about them as loudly anymore and to have people interact in a positive way with what I've done. I lost a bit of that after college, and writers really ought to stick together. It gets lonely and difficult without friends otherwise. (:

Something about my writing process:

I am a planner and a fragment writer! This is a result of my schooling. When I was younger and didn't hear a different way, I would pants the entire story. Now I suppose it's about 85% planning, and 15% finding ways to cause problems on purpose for my characters and running with a scene idea. (and cutting it if it doesn't work, saving it for later of course.) I outline plot points usually and if I have specific details I want to elaborate on, I have in-depth pages for that in the planning docs. I tend to treat my character sheets sorta like dnd without the build stats. Just break down into sections describing how they'll look, and their backstories. I also really enjoy the tumblr asks regarding OCs, too, because a lot of that ends up in my planning docs too, where it hadn't been thought of before. I like to really KNOW my characters and where I want the story to go as I proceed, but again -- sometimes I just cause problems on purpose for them and for myself (: But that's the fun of it. There's room for unmitigated creativity if you let go of all the headspace nonsense whenever possible.

As for fragments -- sometimes scenes come to me out of order or in ideas that don't have a place in my current project. I keep idea docs and an idea notebook on hand almost always and write down stray thoughts either as more of an outline, or just a jotted down piece of a thought -- OR something more. Like a whole in-prose scene. That's what I mean by fragments. I've found, especially lately, considering what I wrote above, that if inspiration strikes, let it distract you from everything whenever you can. Write that shit down and save it for later. (:

The last part of it, of course, is the editing process. I try to fire the editing brain for drafting purposes and then go back in to proofread and then do editing passes two or three times before I post / consider a piece to be finished enough to possibly share. I enjoy that part of the process so much. It's like finishing a good jigsaw puzzle lol. That said it's not always sunshine and rainbows, it can be a brutal difficult process. And I am not always right. It's different looking at editing your own work than others' just due to how close we can be to our own writing. Worth it, though, all the struggle (:

Is it different in my original work than fic?

Nope! I mean I suppose the glaring difference would be I need to spend more time in original with worldbuilding than I do in fic, as fic kind of has a bit of a safety net in that department. That said, there's still plenty of worldbuilding to do, lots of hcs to write about, and lots of planning how the pieces will interact. And asking -- why tell this specific story? (Always the fun part for me.) The process, regardless, still remains the same. Plan, write, cause problems on purpose, plan around those problems, write more and EDIT, EDIT, EDIT. (:

Toothless & Teethyes? you, you get it, but it's all just playing on screen, it's just a montage of all your storyboards collaged together with early 2000's bruno mars playing, maybe Mamma Mia by ABBA

I just think it'd be neat

but yeah, finding that out was like seeing an alien but the hijack is what rlly blows you away, but your writing???? you draw really well??? but you also write????? really well??? what is this??? It's like when I found out Joji used to be Pink Guy, this is incredible, you just, the attention to DETAIL? 3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?

Okay, so I used to write on Google Docs for the longest time and then a few months I told myself that maybe it wasn't the best privacy-wise. So I've switched to using Open Office, which I think helps me focus better because having it on a separate window away from my web browser reduces the temptation to stop mid-sentence to check another tab, you know? But at the same time, this feels VERY cursed because my version doesn't have any kind of spelling check, plus my WIPs are now saved on my internal drive, and since I don't make backups of them that often, I live in fear or my laptop dying on me and making me lose weeks of progress

Oh also, there's basically no word count lololol

Am I gonna do anything about any of this though? No, we're raw-dogging life over here 😎

I already answered this earlier but the short answer is I currently don't, but I don't judge people who do (unless it's a library book or something)

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

I guess I'll talk about my fic for the Zouis Fest (although it might not even be part of it in the end, because I keep writing for the Dream Team fandom instead rip)

Anyway, I'm still not sure exactly what I'm doing with it. Like the main idea is that it's a Zayn-POV, canon-compliant(ish), present day fic where they run into each other in Hong Kong and are kinda forced to acknowledge what happened all those years ago, and figure out how to move forward. So like, lots of angst and feelings of betrayal and conflict and serious conversations because that's basically all I know how to (and all I want to) write lol

At the moment I'm not sure whether to keep it focused on their friendship or introduce some kind of romance aspect to it (toying with the idea that they had some kind FWB situation going while they were in the band). But since it's canon-compliant I'd feel kinda iffy doing that. I've never actually written canon-compliant before, and I have to admit that it scares me a bit, also because I've been extremely removed from the 1d fandom lately

Anyway one thing I'm sure about is that I want a scene to be inspired by the following verse from Blur's My Terracotta Heart:

And when we fly tomorrow over the Java seas And my younger maps will be there with me 'Cause they remind me of swimming out too far one day Then the coral was gone, but I didn't care anyway

Something about Zayn going too far to swim and Louis watching him almost drown but not realizing what's happening, as a metaphor for what went wrong between them

Zayn Malik is, without a doubt, the most beautiful person Louis has ever had the privilege to lay his eyes on. To the point that if he were to explain aesthetic attraction to someone, he’d probably say something like: “The feeling I get when I look at that gorgeous guy in my English 586 class.”

That's the opening line from Situations Like These, my aro/ace Zouis fic from the first Zouis fest.

It's one of those stories that really started out with just a scene rather than an idea/concept, which I think is the case for a lot of my fics actually. I mean, I did have a prompt for this fic, which was something like "they're both ace but don't tell the other for fear of driving him away", so it was pretty vague in terms of setting and everything else, really.

I remember coming up with that opening scene and the bits of dialogues at my grandparents' place right before getting on the road back home with my parents, and since I'd rather die than write in front of them, I just had to make sure to commit everything to my memory by repeating it all in my head throughout the day, until we were finally home and I could write it down. But that's something I do a lot, I think, just come up with stuff (typically dialogue) at inconvenient times and praying that I remember it by the time I can write it down 😬 And then of course when you actually settle in front of your computer, you feel like all your inspiration is gone

Anyway, I think this might be one of my favourite opening scenes I've written, I feel like it's pretty fun while setting the tone and dynamics for the whole fic

i don't really mention it at all on here but i'm a massive weeb, anime and manga are probably my biggest media interest and up until just a few months ago, i'd only ever rped within anime fandoms.

——— EXPERIENCE! ♡

PLATFORMS USED: prior to 2010-ish, i used to rp on chatrooms that were by today's standards, very unsafe places full of unsavoury people ( but it was like 2008, no one knew shit about stranger danger on the internet yet ). i had a really cringe oc too and to this day i still remember her name and design! after that i was introduced to tumblr, where i stayed until the end of 2017, having around 30+ blogs because the concept of multi-muse blogs weren't favourable at that time. after the tumblrpocalypse i moved to discord where i spent almost 3 years strictly rping with the same group of friends for the same fandom, but things went south and i tried out twitter rp, but it didn't really stick. i moved back to tumblr at the end of last year so now here we are!

PLOTTING / WINGING IT / MEMES: memes are 100% the easiest way to start interacting for me, especially if it's for the first time. i'm very open to continuing threads from meme replies and then either discussing things further or winging it from thereon. but sometimes i get a more detailed idea in mind that i'm more inclined to plot for, i'm just baby who is very shy to approach people though.

GENDER: i'm fine with either but the ratio of character's i've rped is around 80 male to 20 female. partly it's because ( at least in my past experiences ) people are much more likely to be interested in rping with male characters for gay gay homosexual gay shipping purposes. also there were just more male characters to work with in the fandoms i rped in in the past compared to female so i often defaulted to male.

MULTI OR SINGLE: i wanted to try out a multi-muse when i first came back to tumblr but it never really stuck, but i do find single muses easier to work with because i have the attention span of a pea!

LEAST FAVOURITE FACECLAIM(S): i've personally never used face claims before but in general i don't have a preference for those who do, so long as it's not someone who is a bad person irl.

——— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡

FLUFF: fluff is nice sometimes! but unless it's paired with something else ( be it action, drama, etc ) it can quickly turn into a case of "okay how many replies are going to be just mushy cuddles and sweet words back and forth before i get bored".

ANGST: i adore angst! i love causing problems on purpose! i rub my grubby little flea hands together and cackle into the night at the prospect of dishing out pain and anguish to characters involved in an rp! delicious!

SMUT: i love smut and i've had a lot of experience writing it, but similarly to my opinions on fluff, it can run into the same issue but just the horny version.

Hey Quil!! I just finished Chapter 35, and I decided to write down my thoughts in an ask instead of in my little doc of notes. I kind of feel bad because I really enjoy the story, but you don't really have a way of knowing that, but I get very anxious that my reaction is too much.

However I think that this chapter might be one of my favorites, simply because of the tone and the build-up to the final words typed out. Your cliffhangers always kill me, but this one was almost overshadowed by the discovery of the entirety of the chapter.

I love the sort of looped feeling the story has right now. We know more as to what Fintan and Murad were doing, and what they wanted to do, and now I'm simply dying to go back and read previous chapters they were in with this new knowledge. I always talk about how these parts of stories are some of my favorites, because it's the pay off to some of the mystery.

While not all the problems are solved, the revelation of something so big is such a huge pay off, and I was at the edge of my seat. (Not literally, as I happened to be laying down but you get what I mean. I also happened to have the most dramatic instrumental music on and that added to my growing dread.)

I loved the careful uncovering of more and more information in each entry, getting Sophie's thoughts in between as both a palette cleanser and an outlet. Because having Sophie's reaction along with my own made the ending all the more impactful. I knew where the story was going, Sophie knew where the story was going, and it still went there!

Like I knew that the village would be destroyed, and later I knew it was because of Fintan, but I didn't want it to be. There was some deep part of me that was still clinging to something, anything that could have turned out alright.

But it didn't.

And that's such powerful storytelling. I have told you multiple times that you're such a good writer, and you totally are!! But tragedy is something I'm actually somewhat educated in, and I can actually put my praise into words.

The tragic elements that you weaved in through the story are simply incredible. Because having the reader go through the events with the character makes the result all the more dreadful. Sophie's reaction added to my reaction and it was this feeling that I cannot put into words. It was something so deep and sad when Phoenix's final warning was written onto the page.

And that's catharsis. Because I'm not just sitting there feeling one specific emotion. I'm sitting, at the end of the chapter, feeling calm, a little sorrowful, but at ease. Because the gnome's story has come to an end and I've reached it, even though it isn't a happy one. Sophie has to deal with the impact of this later, and so will the readers, but for now all I can reflect in is the mistakes and the tragic end of the gnomes.

The fatality of kindness, and how a simple character trait that is usually seen in positive light can cause such a tragic end.

And Quil gah that's beautiful!!!! Like idk if that's intentional or not but that's such a proper use of a tragedy that it blows my mind! The story you're telling has so many elements of tragedy, just like many dystopian tales do, but it also has elements of hope and comfort and accepting change!!!

Bestie this is a masterpiece that I could pick apart as an analysis!! I want to put Shattered Upside Down under a microscope and analyze the arcs and themes of it's characters!!! It's sometimes so hard for me to remember that this is a fic, because it's gorgeous!!! It's so pretty dude!!

Anyway, I could go into a lot more detail of the tragic elements and compare them to famous works of fiction and how well it holds up, however this is getting quite long, and I'm sure that that would bring me more joy than it would you.

I hope you don't mind me going insane of this, but is just so happens that your story is something that holds so many precious elements that I hold near and dear to my heart, and I can't help but bounce off the walls a bit and get distracted.

Please just know that you're actually creating one of the best fanfics I've ever read, and it lives rent free in my head <333

!!! OH!! my gosh hello to you too!! I'm so so glad you wrote down your thoughts in as ask because this has genuinely made my entire day. I'm sitting here happy stimming just looking and reading through all this and my brain has stopped making words anymore it's just :DDD on repeat over and over (update: made the words go and they're long so under the cut!)

I promise that whatever your reactions are, they aren't too much! I understand being anxious to share reactions but there is nothing but elation in my mind when someone talks about the au, and I very highly doubt that anything you say or do will be the exception to that.

!!! One of your favorites, you say? Now I'm curious which other chapters are up there; which chapters have stuck with you or really hit. Also this is so relieving and fascinating to hear because, like I mentioned in the ao3 notes, I've pretty much entirely lost track of how things fall. Like editing through it I was like okay cool fun, solid writing! But it didn't really hit me at all because I'd 1. written it and 2. known all of this for months. I already knew that Fintan had killed the gnomes, so it's so gratifying to know there was a successful build-up from an outside perspective!

Yes!! I literally just did a fist-pump irl when you mentioned the looping feeling because I have been trying to be so particular with that and wasn't sure how much, if any of it was coming through. In basically every chapter I have notes all throughout telling Editing Me to go back through and find particular, really specific sentences to reference and add back in--like Fintan's words in this one! Because when I first wrote them I wrote them in a particular way specifically so they could be brought up again later and talked about in a new light with new revelations!

This new revelation happened to be a particularly important one, and while it's not necessarily something that prompted Sophie to do anything, it's significant to the story and has been woven throughout. I mean, from the very first introduction of the gnomish village in like what. Chapter 4? Somewhere around there, there was a clear tragedy. The gnomes had lived there and now they hadn't and there was evidence of monsters everywhere. It wasn't hard to put together the pieces. But then...it turns out there's more to it than just that! And this detail they've been living with is actually part of something bigger that puts their whole lives there into a different perspective

it really is such a satisfying pay-off, you're right! It's not the end of the story and it's not the whole story (what was Fintan doing? what happened to him? what happened to Phoenix?), but it's still a big piece of the whole puzzle put in place. also hell yeah dramatic music!! I love dramatic music when I'm reading dramatic things it just all fits so well

Oh it's wonderful to hear that the pacing and Sophie's commentary played off each other well. As I was writing it and adding some of her interjections I wondered "is this too disruptive?" but when I excluded them it was just. Solid blocks of background text. Which is not the feeling I wanted to give it. I wanted this to be Sophie, someone who just ended up in the middle of all this, slowly uncovering with mounting horror something she's been living in all along without knowing it. And of course it's only natural to have reactions to things when reading them so because the story follows her excluding that was like...well now it's too far removed from her.

You got the exact reaction/feeling I was trying to accomplish with this style of storytelling!! The story still went there! Knowing the ending and reading it and seeing everything coming horribly together and wishing something changed but knowing nothing will. Dramatic irony at it's finest.

I mentioned that I was thinking about a certain twilight novella when editing everything so pardon me for bringing it up again, but when I read said novella it was such a fascinating feeling. You know before you even pick up the book that the main character is going to die. You know Bree Tanner is going to be tortured and killed and that her last moments are suffering. You see it all happened from Bella's perspective in book 3. And yet when reading the novella there's still a part of you that hopes that even though you've seen the ending that it's different this time. You still search for anything that'll indicate something different

and I find that feeling fascinating!! and then this diary came into the story and it was such a perfect opportunity to play around with that and I'm absolutely thrilled with how you saw it!

oh an educated tragedy analysis? I love this I'm reading this all in absolute rapture. I don't even know what to comment on I'm sitting here going "yes you get it!!" to everything. The gnome's story doesn't end well and Sophie doesn't even know the gnome's name, but she witnessed two months of their life taken dutifully down on paper descending closer and closer towards an end she already knew. And even though she knew the gnome was dead and had settled as much as she could with that, it brings it all up all over again with a new kind of sorrow. And we can focus on that! Because that's where we end!

Even though the answer to those questions wasn't a happy one, the answers are there now; now she can process and grieve and it's like. It's like this peace of mind even though it's so horrible.

The fatality of kindness oh I love that phrase. I love it when a character's best traits are their undoing but they still wouldn't have changed anything because that's who they are. the gnomes are kind and that's what killed them, but they never would've stopped being kind either. That sort of "if only you have done this!" thought that's co-existing with "if you hadn't done this you wouldn't be you." It's such a devastating pairing and I love it

I can say that I wasn't thinking anything about proper tragedy when I was writing this, I was just writing it. I've mentioned this before but I hardly do any editing for the au. Editing for me consists of being like "are there any obvious spelling or grammar mistakes" with the occasional word switch to make things flow off the tongue easier. So all of this was essentially first draft me just fucking around and finding out to see what I could do with the situation I'd created.

But yes!! The hope and change elements!! those are so so important to me like yes this is riddled with tragedy and terror and horrible decisions made by horrible people for what they think are the right reasons but that doesn't mean the world is bad. That doesn't mean you stop. You can break down and forget things for a while, but you don't stop. You keep hoping and you keep trying. Yes!!

A masterpiece!! that is very high praise thank you so much. Also I am incredibly flattered that you want to put it under a microscope because like. That's what I do with the stories I really like! so if you wanna do that to my story...woa :0

Seriously though if you ever want to analyze any part of the story I would be more than thrilled to hear it. That includes comparisons to other tragic stories!! You are wrong it would not be more fun for you than me I would adore that. Like 90% of my blog focuses on analysis in what world would I not love to see analysis of my own story?

I don't mind your reactions or going wild at all!! I love that!! I love seeing genuine excited reactions!! genuine reactions are the most rewarding part of sharing the story. I write it for me because I want to see where it goes, but I share it for others!!

"Look, relax, I can explain!"

His dumbass really did not expect his VAMPIRE boyfriend to smell the blood currently leaking from between his thighs, but, maybe Casey should start using the thing he called a brain. Of course they would smell it! And sure, Raph didn't seem to question it much, for the first couple of days at least. But now that the blood smell was still strong and fresh on day three? Yeah, questions were being asked, and Casey was scrambling to think of the best way to describe it.

"Jus' chill okay, gimme a sec," Casey asked Raph, keeping some distance for the minute, "I, look, I didn't wanna tell yer this way, I wanted it t' be, yanno, special..."

He swallowed back the fear, and began to ramble as quickly as he could, in a desperate hope that Raph wouldn't have more questions to ask,

"Look, I was born as a woman okay? My name was Eve, I was named after my ma, but growin' up I never felt like a girl, always felt like a guy, so parents an' I wen' t' docs, got some talks an' whatever long story short I'm taking hormones t' be a guy, 'cause I am a guy, that's why my name is Casey an' not Eve," He breathes out, needing a minute, "An', every month, 'cause I still got a pussy, I bleed, 'cause biology or whatever the fuck, I can't stop it, las' like a week, an' uh...yeah I think that's everythin'."

If he got his way, Casey would've had them up on the roof, having dinner under the stars as he talked about everything, opened up and such. But hey, things can't always go his way. Maybe in another World where Raph wasn't a vampire.

"Now I got a question for yer - yer uh wanna taste it or am I jus' waistin' my time standin' 'ere in pain."

It wasn't the first time Raphael picked up on the constant smell of blood from Casey. Even before getting bitten he did have a pretty good sense of smell. All of them had a pretty strong sense of smell, something they kept after mutation. So Raph always tended to associate the smell of lynx and ice to Casey. Sometimes he would just say Casey smelled like the inside of a plenty box with a mix of the scents their hockey gear and sweat added to their usual smell already. With the nice little crisp smell that ice seemed to carry. It was very much how he tend to know when Casey came from practice he never brought it up before because well would that be weird? To tell you best friend that you like how they smell? Maybe. Your boyfriend? mm maybe not Raph's suffered enough of Mikey's romance flicks to know humans say that. But pretty sure humans can't tell their partner just how exactly their scent smelled. Seeing how the scent could carry on to Raphael's bed after Casey been over. Or on to hoodies Raph borrowed from them. But still telling Casey in that much detail might be weird. Even if Casey was beyond weird himself.

Though since the whole 'Raphs a vampire' thing Raphael can smell a bit better than before. Mostly blood, he can tell even from small cuts alone. And sure Casey could come around with some scraps here and there but blood scent was different when fresh and old. But sometimes? Casey had a constant smell of blood coming off of him? Last time it happened Raphael thought Casey got hurt and was hiding it. If he could move shouldn't be a big deal. But once again? As Raphael had sneaked over to hang out with his poor sick boyfriend he could smell it and it was strong. Raphael quirked his beak and looked them over.

Eyes narrowing Casey looked like he was in pain hardly wanting to move around as they greeted him. Raphael looked around the room a moment not having even given a hi back as he started going through anything he could. Flipping objects over throwing some as his search became a bit more hasty. Ignoring Casey when they obviously start to ask what he was doing. When Raph can't find anything though and turns around to face Casey hes crosses his arms over himself and narrows his eyes at them.

"Okay what stupid ass thing didja do now?" He jumps to accuse them right away Casey looks like they are ready to play dumb however as they just give him a look that sells the act pretty well for Casey's sake here. "Dude I can smell blood!" Raph just goes to express not having the patience for some back and forth here. "So what the fuck did you do now? Is being sick you tryin' to cover up? What got ya ass whopped so bad you would die from the embarrassment?" yes cause picking a fight with Casey was clearly the answer here. Well least if he ticked them off enough they might tell him what happened. Prideful. "Or is big bad Casey Jones gettin' pushed around on the ice?" he smirks now showing hes baiting Casey. Though for some reason it back fired on to Raphael. Moving over to Casey as he starts grabbing at them forcing them out of their comfort.

"Did someone actually get you with like the blades or somethin'?" no longer trying to annoy an answer out when worry go in Raphael was looking on their bed for any sign of blood. He turned to look back at Casey, sniffing at them a second it really smelled fresh. He shot Casey a look before setting his hand on them feeling for any wet spots along thier back or sides even. "I can tell your bleedin' right now! And ya holding your swlf like it hurts. I swear mutant vampire what ever if one of 'em hurt you I will go hunt 'em down."

"Look, relax, I can explain!"

"Well you betta! Give me names and addresses!" Raphael shouts back Casey's own statement didn't really easy him off the idea someone hurt him.

Raphael watched them step back a little as tnej put some space between them. Raphael just quirked his beak. A little part of him debated, not dealing with the beating around the bush bussniess here. And making Casey tell him, but another part of him said that hypnotizing the answer out of Casey might be crossing some line here. Besides, he's not even sure if it works that way.

"I, look, I didn't wanna tell yer this way, I wanted it t' be, yanno, special…"

Well, now he was curious, crocking his head to the side even as he raised a brow. Special? What in the world could him bleeding have to do with anything to make it out for a whole speical set up to go with? He wasn't doing it on purpose or anything, was he? Did he tell Don about how Raph had fed off of them? Maybe Don was taking blood from Casey for his synthetic crap? Way to fix the taste issue? Admitly, raph might still feed off Casey even if that were the case simply because feeding off Casey was arousing and hot as fuck. Even if they hadn't done much beyond kissing it did add some fun there.

Raphaels guesses were far off the mark here, but he had no way to guess the real answer here. Maybe he was drawing blood now even? Hmm nah Raph would see more evidence of that right? Hand to his chin as he looks at Casey. He's had his blood draw before by Don so he knew how it worked. Who would be dumb enough to trust Casey to draw his own blood. Raphaels eyes widen a little for a moment there not because of what he was being told person mote how it was said was causing the reaction as Casey let out all of his explanations in nearly one breath here.

"Yes." He says quicker then meant but he didn't care as he moved to help Casey sit back on his bed smirking now. "Don' gotta tell me twice, maybe it'll distract you little from the pain?" Raphael offers before moving to help Casey lie back. Fingers hooking into the waist band of thier pants before he slowly moves to pull them off. The smell.of blood was stronger as he got Casey free from the confinement.

He did feel slightly hesitant here though, the want for blood and the other desires burning between his own legs now were both all for this. But inexperience was clearly shining here. "Jus' lie back I'll take care of you." But hey taking like it might be? May help he hopes he's sort if making this up as he goes a bit different from bitting or making out with Casey after all. Gently rubbing at their thighs to help ease Casey and ground his own thoughts. There was way to much to think about right now.
