a silly oikage date(?) | 700 words | originally posted here
-
“It’s not a date,” Tooru huffs to Iwaizumi. Because it’s not. He and Tobio just so happen to be going to the same event (the Elephants match) and since Kindaichi had also just so happened to ask them at the same time, their seats are next to each other’s. It’s not like any of this was planned.
“If it’s not a date, why are you asking me what you should wear?”
“Because the match is going to be televised, not because I care what stupid Tobio thinks about my outfit.”
His friend gives him a long look before saying, “Sure.”
What’s that supposed to mean?
“It’s not a date!” he hisses to Shouyou who calls while Tobio’s in the restroom.
“You’re having dinner with him right now!”
Him and Tobio agreeing to meet up for a quick, casual meal before the game means nothing. And they only agreed to then head over to the sports center from there together because it’s convenient. “You two eat dinner together all the time.”
Shouyou scoffs. “Right, because we’re friends. What’s your reason?”
“...It just happened.”
His friend laughs. “Like how you two have happened to watch every single one of each other’s matches for the past decade? And how you happened to save his curry commercial to your phone? And how you—”
Tooru ends the call. There’s no use in arguing with delusional people.
“It’s not a date,” he grumbles at his social media accounts which are flooded with the breaking news that known rivals Oikawa and Kageyama are currently attending a volleyball match together. (“Weird place for a date, but it makes sense for those idiots,” says one post that Tooru has the sneaking suspicion is from Makki’s burner account.)
Social media loves to take the smallest detail and create a whole narrative so he knows he shouldn’t pay the rumors any mind. So long as he isn’t seen with Tobio in public ever again—which should be easy—things will blow over in a matter of time.
Before he closes the app, though, he catches sight of a photo someone managed to capture of them. He doesn’t understand what people are making such a fuss about. They’re both leaning in to talk to each other, shoulders barely touching, expressions a little softer than he remembers them being.
So what?
It’s not a date, he thinks to himself when he spots Tobio across the bar during the Elephants’ post-match celebration, talking to one of the players. Something white hot and unpleasant jolts through his body at the sight. Anyone with half a brain (so, anyone here other than Kageyama Tobio) can tell that the other guy is flirting—heavily.
Really, how can Tobio be so dense? The wing spiker is smiling down at him, tilting his head as if the bar is too loud (it’s not) and he needs to stand that close in order to hear Tobio.
The man places a hand on Tobio’s shoulder and Tooru’s legs start moving toward them before his brain can even process what’s happening.
“Excuse me, I need to steal my date for a moment,” he says, flashing a charming smile at the wing spiker and gracefully removing the hand from Tobio’s shoulder so he can drag the other setter away.
“Uh, Oikawa-san? Is this a date?” Tobio asks once they’re outside.
Tooru scoffs, letting go of Tobio’s hand even though he doesn’t actually want to. “No, of course not. I was just rescuing a clueless idiot from an awkward situation. You’re welcome, by the way.”
“Oh.”
He doesn’t know if he’s imagining the disappointment in Tobio’s voice, but it prompts him to add, “Though, hypothetically, if you asked me on one, I might consider it.”
Tobio blinks. “Oh. Okay. Will you go on a date with me, Oikawa-san?”
A smirk tugs on Tooru’s lips. “I’ll think about it.” Tobio gives him an unimpressed look and Tooru hmphs. “You’re no fun. Fine. One date. Sheesh.”
Nodding, Tobio says, “Okay. Let’s go.” But instead of heading back into the bar, Tobio starts to walk away.
“Excuse me? Where are you going?”
“We are going on a date,” Tobio calls over his shoulder, his own smirk visible even in the dim light.
Tooru rolls his eyes as he catches up to Tobio. So annoying. He’s going to regret agreeing to this.
(Probably.)

title: open secret summary: they're not really doing a good job of hiding it characters: atsumu, kiyoomi, msby words: 2,234
meian knows what's up.
he'd seen the glances. heard the whispers. witnessed the stolen moments when they think no one is looking. meian knows, but he respects sakusa and atsumu's decision to remain a secret if they're not yet ready to tell the team.
the secret becomes an open secret within a short period of time, which then becomes a burden too difficult to ignore, especially when every single person in the team is highly aware and conscious of the fact that their spiker and setter are, in fact, very much in love.
i.
barnes is the first to know.
he finds out by chance when he steps into the gym, thinking he is the first one to arrive, only to find out that atsumu has already been practicing his hybrid serve for quite a while, if the dozen or so volleyballs scattered on court were any indication.
the taller man stands near the gym's entrance, poorly hidden behind open doors, rightfully captivated by atsumu's form and power when he serves a volleyball that cleaves through the air, landing perfectly on the boundary line.
while atsumu cools down, barnes decides that now is the right moment to show himself.
he moves to take a step but falters at the last minute when atsumu's phone rings, startling that blonde setter who rushes to pick up his device from the bench.
"omi-kun. what's up?" barnes overhears atsumu, eyes growing wide at the direction of their conversation. despite his challenges in living as a foreigner in japan, the lilt and tenderness in a person's voice when they speak on the phone with their loved ones remains universal.
"oh, that? you left it at my place."
"no, i most certainly did not steal it."
"fine, pick it up on your way here—hey, i washed it!"
"why are you asking me that? i gave you the key to my apartment for a reason, omi-kun."
"since you're there, can you grab me some chocolate?"
it's the gentle rise and fall in atsumu's voice, mixed with his kansai accent, that lights the proverbial light bulb over barnes’ head. sakusa is most definitely on the other line—as if there are other sakusas within the vicinity who atsumu interacts with—and he is at the receiving end of his tender tone which, frankly, sounds fucking endearing to barnes’ ears.
he follows the couple (or what he assumes are a couple) for the rest of the day, feeling zero guilt at the way his eyes would flicker over to them to see if they are, indeed, what they are. in his quest, barnes accidentally catches meian’s gaze, his captain’s eyes knowing and his brows raised in a silent question: found out huh?
barnes could only roll his eyes.
ii.
bokuto finds out second, and this time, it’s due to sheer dumb luck.
he’s on his way home, one more turn before arriving at the bus stop, when the sky dims and rain starts pouring. he realizes then and there that he had forgotten his umbrella in his locker. on a completely normal rainy day, he would have said fuck it and boarded the bus, but he had plans later that evening which includes meeting up with akaashi for dinner, and thus the umbrella is needed.
call it fate or destiny, but bokuto wouldn’t have witnessed the scene before him if not for his umbrella.
the first thing he notices while walking along the corridor is that the door to the locker room has been left open. there a
re sounds coming from within, which means someone is still inside, and judging from the voice, it’s most likely atsumu.
the blonde’s post-practice ritual is the longest among the team—which rivals even sakusa's own—which shouldn't strike anything odd with bokuto if not for the obvious fact that it’s been an hour or so since everyone has left.
bokuto is paces away from the door when he realizes that atsumu is not alone; he’s in a conversation with someone, voice too low to make out whom, and it’s due to pure curiosity that urges him to toe his sneakers off and slide quietly across the floor, just to peek through the small gap in the door.
bokuto bites his lips to keep the strangled scream from leaving his throat.
sakusa is dozing off by the bench while atsumu sits comfortably between his legs. he's struggling to keep himself awake; eyes unfocused and eyelids drooping. his arms are wrapped loosely around atsumu's waist whose mellow chatter continues to fill the air even after sakusa lays his forehead on his shoulders when the spiker finally surrenders to the sweet call of post-practice siesta.
"aww, omi~" atsumu croons, pausing to place a kiss on sakusa's cheeks. "wait just a bit more."
sakusa turns his head and hides his face against the crook on atsumu's neck. "i'm tired atsumu…"
pause. fucking pause. everyone (bokuto) needs to shut the fuck up because he (bokuto) is this close to screaming his head off.
sakusa had just whined. whined!
oh god, their silent player is a baby. their 193 cm opposite hitter is a cuddle bunny teddy bear with a heart made of clouds and rainbows.
bokuto could feel tears pooling at the corner of his eyes at the sight before him. he feels like a stalker, watching his two friends like this, but he literally has never seen them act this soft with anyone during practice, much less to each other!
talk about a gap moe.
(no he did not learn that term from akaashi's editor job.)
atsumu's humming now, mindful of the silence as sakusa falls asleep on his shoulder. sakusa's hand is cradled in one hand while the other one files his nails, caring for them in the same way he cares for his. bokuto slowly creeps away and scurries to the exit, forgetting his umbrella and braving the rain.
iii.
inunaki and tomas ties at third and it's not by choice.
no, it's definitely not by choice. it's never a choice when it comes to getting roped in the younger members' shenanigans. sakusa is the traitor in this case; the silent chaotic soul hiding behind a trio of loud chaotic souls.
like all good things, their day ends with alcohol.
hoping for a good time after practice, bokuto spearheads the idea which was instantly seconded by hinata and supported by atsumu. the final nail in inunaki's coffin comes in the form of sakusa nodding his head, bag already slung on his shoulder, as he tells the team the name of the bar they're going to.
it's over tomas' seventh bottle of heineken when sakusa places three bottles of smirnoff on the table and slips inside the booth, trapping atsumu between him and bokuto. their ace is halfway gone, regaling stories to hinata who's equally halfway gone, nodding at everything he says.
alcohol is not a problem; tomas' bloodstream swims in both caffeine and alcohol, creating a tolerance which the setter before him clearly lacks.
atsumu's already red in the face after his first bottle. asian flush—sakusa explains, which is a concept the foreigner still couldn't wrap his head around. atsumu's head is swaying from side to side, a soft toothy grin adorning his face. his eyes are unfocused, blinking lazily and darting everywhere, and tomas thinks: fuck asian flush, this kid's just bad with liquor.
he shares a look with inunaki, two pairs of wide eyes yelling 'are you seeing this?!' over the sight before them. atsumu pouting when sakusa pulls the bottle away from his hands, telling him the drink is not for him. atsumu whining as he shakes sakusa's shoulder for being mean to him, arguing he can drink another bottle. sakusa sighing and flicking atsumu's head for not knowing any better.
inunaki sees bokuto glance at them—deadass nonplussed—and it suddenly clicks in his head that bokuto knows what's happening.
what inunaki doesn't know is that bokuto knows more than him because right now, at this very moment, he sees sakusa tracing circles along atsumu's upper thigh from under the table. bokuto consciously ignores the way goosebumps rise on atsumu's arms, his eyes turning back to hinata, ignoring the couple shamelessly flirting next to him.
inunaki is floored. barnes and meian most definitely know; no one can stop two grown, married men from gossiping with each other, especially if it's about these children they're supposed to be looking after. looking back, barnes and the captain have been sharing a look since over a month ago, like they're watching the punchline of an inside joke unfold.
"omi~" atsumu purrs, his shoulder pressed against sakusa's. the spiker just rolls his eyes, but let's the setter hook his arm over his neck, pulling him closer until they're face to face.
tomas' hand stays frozen, hovering over his beer. bokuto chokes on his fries. inunaki is bouncing on his seat. hinata is gone, head on the table, snoring.
what the fuck? how did they miss this?
-i.
hinata is actually the first to know.
not meian.
not barnes.
him. he's the first to witness the intricate dance between sakusa and atsumu. the ribbing. the heckling. the half-hearted glares. the high-fives.
on one unassuming night, around 11:00 pm, he and atsumu meet by chance in the convenience store which is the midpoint of their apartments. atsumu's surfing between the aisles, picking up junk food and toiletries which he carries in his arms, when he bumps into hinata.
"—shit" he says when hinata accidentally topples the pile in atsumu's arms. before his volleyball reflexes could even shoot into action, sakusa's hand is already there to catch the bag of chips with his hand.
"shouyo-kun?" atsumu's jaw drops, surprise coloring his features.
"m-miya-san—" hinata mirrors his expression "sakusa-san!" his finger points to the taller man who just looks unamused by the whole exchange.
"hey." he greets hinata before turning to atsumu. "i told you to use a basket."
suddenly, hinata's presence becomes invisible as the two continue to exist within the same bubble. there's an exasperated slope to sakusa's eyebrows which matches atsumu's pout, which curiously disappears when the spikers flicks his forehead. the young spiker's eyes (who's learned to discern the most minutes details on the court) instantly picks up on two things.
first is the too-large black hoodie that seems to swallow atsumu's entire torso. it would have been irrelevant if not for the fact that hinata knows he's seen sakusa wear that in several casual occasions.
second is the hickey on his neck—and really, hinata doesn't need anything more than this to reach the conclusion.
"oh." he breathes, not realizing his teammates were in that kind of relationship. atsumu seems to realize where hinata's eyes are pointed at and consciously tries to turn away so his neck remains hidden from his sight.
"we'd appreciate it very well if you don't day anything yet to the team." it's sakusa who speaks up, which makes everything more surreal because the moment he opened his mouth, atsumu's face burns in an embarrassing shade of red like he'd just realized they've been caught together.
"uh, okay?" hinata's unsure why he's being sworn to secrecy right now, but he agrees nonetheless.
"thanks, hinata." sakusa gives him a small smile and pushes the basket towards atsumu again, silently asking him to drop everything inside. the setter obliges and rushes to the cashier with their purchases, leaving them behind.
"uh…?"
"he doesn't want anyone to know yet."
"but i know?"
"if there's a way for you to forget, i'd have done it. we'll tell the others in our own pace." which means the ball is in atsumu's court and it's his choice when to come clean with their relationship.
"okay… congrats i guess. if you look at your left, there's some cond—"
"good night hinata." sakusa turns away and follows atsumu to the cashier.
to be painfully honest, the secret turned open-secret turned shared-team-burden continues for a long while. it actually takes the young couple months of failed attempts at hiding, because at this point, every one knows and are just despairing for atsumu to tell them.
so when the fated day comes where atsumu is finally ready, he asks the team to stay behind after practice for a special announcement, and everyone just beams.
everyone gathers at the locker room as they wait for both the two to show. meian shoots barnes an ugly look, hands fisted in his pocket, begrudgingly holding a few thousand yens as payment for a bet they both set up between themselves. inunaki looks bored as hell, feet swinging over the bench, wishing to go home instead of waiting for something they've already known for months.
hinata and bokuto are chatting by the corner, arms gesturing wildly in the air over an interesting story. tomas is watching the door for either atsumu or sakusa to make an entrance.
because they are tired as hell.
hinata had to run away just to avoid seeing sakusa kiss atsumu.
inunaki had to restrain himself from eavesdropping when the two talk about what to eat for dinner or if atsumu should just cook for them instead.
so when atsumu enters the room with sakusa in tow, hands together and fingers intertwined, their only reaction is to cry because finally, finally, they can give them their congratulations.

Is he really just a friend?
Paring: Satori Tendo x fem!reader
Genre: fluff
Warnings: x
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being a Shiratorizawa volleyball club manager included a lot of things. Running errands for the couch, finding lost balls in the schoolyard, morning calls to some players if they forgot about morning practices, in other words - lots and lots of work. But it has its bright sides. Because being Shiratorizawa volleyball clubs manager included also deep talks with Wakatoshi-senpai before matches, pissing off Shirabu-san when you miss his spikes even though YOU were the one who asked him to stay after practice so you can play a little, and by all means trying to keep Tendo away from annoying the shit out of... basically everyone around.
***
Sun was picking from the window as Satori was pretending to not watching you. After three months since the school year started and since their super grumpy coach introduced you as "manager not distraction," he has fallen for you harder than he thought. And somehow suddenly he was everywhere you were. He learned your favourite drinks and snacks, so soon if the day was hot, he could hand you [your favourite drink] as "some refreshment for our cute manager" (yes, then he gets hit with the ball by the couch but sparks in your eyes are worth it). Satori isn't regular Satori when it comes to you.
- One more, Shirabu-san! Please? - you asked as the setter rolled his eyes. It's not like he didn't like you, he liked you a lot, you were his friend. It was just annoying to toss to someone whose volleyball knowledge ended on how to serve the ball.
- That's the last one. You can't even do it properly - Shirabu grabbed the ball you had just passed him and put it on the ground. - Come here, let me show you the steps at least. God, you watch us play every day, you could've caught up on something.
- I don't watch you play, I work as manager which means I do some tasks off the gym - you talked back but listened to Shirabu's instructions.
Satori leaned on the storage room doorframe and sighted. He would give so much to be in the setter's place. He would give up everything to be the one who makes you smile like that. With slightly lifted corners of your lips, you're happy but also focused on the task.
You tried to do the steps your friend have just shown you when suddenly you tripped on one of your untied shoelaces. You could've kissed the ground if not for Shibaru who quickly grabbed your waist and pulled you up.
- Idiot. - He kneeled in front of you and tied your shoes, which made you blush a little. - Next time at least check if you're actually ready for playing. I mean shoes and so on
- Don't call me an idiot, Shirabu-san.
- Whatever. I call it a day. See you tomorrow, lil one - he messed your hair and headed to the door.
- Don't you call me that name Shirabu Kenjiro! - you shouted after him but the unbothered setter only waved to you without even turning back. Satori sighed and went back to putting the balls on the shelves. How could he not spot before that it was something between you and Shirabu? After all, even if everyone was nice to you, Kenjiro was like nice, but boyfriend-like nice to you. And that was something that was annoying Tendo the most.
******
You were about to close the gym when you heard a familiar voice calling your name. You turned around and saw your team's middle blocker.
- Oh, Tendo-san - you smiled, melting his heart. - You forgot something from the gym?
- Umm actually I was wondering if you still want to learn how to spike? - he smiled at you and started to play with the ball in his hands. Your eyes lighten up. Shirabu was so busy with exams that he didn't have time for you for the last two weeks.
- You will teach me?
- Well I'm not a spiker by profession but I know some moves. Come one, lil one! - driven by sudden confidence he grabbed your hand and pulled you back into the empty gym.
- Don't call me "lil one"! I'm not that small! - you pouted, making Satoru only smile more.
- I bet I'm at least thirty centimeters taller.
- Phi!
- Hey, don't pout. You're cute like that but let's focus on the game.
You blushed hearing that you're cute. Nobody called you cute before. Maybe your closest friend, but it was the first time a boy called you cute.
- Okay. So see. First, you take a step with the left foot, then you do two quick steps, right foot, then left. Remember those have to be at a forty-five-degree angle. On the third one you jump and well hitting the ball part is quite easy and understandable, isn't it? Just think of slapping someone. - redhead smiled and throw the ball at you. - I'll toss to you. I'm no Shirabu but I'll send the ball to you!
- Okay... here it comes! - you throw the ball in the air and, pretty smooth for you, send it to Satori. Quickly calculated everything, the middle blocker tossed the ball. With instructions in your head, you followed the steps, unfortunately missing the ball. You sent Satori a slightly embarrassed smile.
- Sorry?
- Don't mind, don't mind. - Tendo's encouraging smile made you feel better. - We'll try one more time!
This time you hit the ball, but it was too light, went on the other side of the net only by luck.
- One more! - you tossed to ball to Satori. Readhead made his move, and wanted to try a little higher toss so you had more time to get your moves. But somehow he forgot to move out of the way and when the ball bounced off the net he got hit.
- Oh my God, Tendo, are you okay? - you turned to him, gently touching his cheek which made him unbelievably blush.
- I'm fine, lil one.
- You're not. You got hit by the ball. I'm sorry, I'm horrible at that.
- Hey, don't worry. It's not the first and not the last time I got hit by the ball.
- It's my fault.
- It's not. See? I'm fine - he smiled, this way also making you smile. You finally breathed out.
- Okay. But let's stop now. Couch would kill me if I'd injure his players more.
- Oh, I bet the old man wouldn't mind free days without us
- He'd mind. Grumpypants... - you scoffed thinking about the couch.
- Oh, we know you like him.
- He's my grandfather's friend, of course, I like him. Off the court, he can be nice
You waited at the door as Satori took his bag and joined you. Tendo with a smile offered to walk you home, since you lived not so far away from school. As you two were walking down the alley you smiled, breathing in the warm spring evening's air. Satori only smiled seeing you happy. Like liked the setting Sun was reflecting on you. You look just beautiful.
- Ach to end a day like that every day - you sighted and turned to Satori who was a few steps behind you.
- Your boyfriend doesn't mind you hanging out with other guys? - he asked, as he walked next to you.
- Boyfriend?
- You're dating Shibaru, aren't you?
- Shibaru? No no no, God forbid! - you shook your head. - He's my best friend. I'd never date him.
- Is he really just a friend? - Satori asked, using all his willpower to not look at you now.
- Are you... jealous? - you answered with a question and the blush on Satori's cheeks made you sure. - God, you ARE jealous.
- So you're not dating Shibaru?
- No, I just said so.
- Good. - He stopped, and so did you. He turned to the side, so he could face you. Seeing that the sun was blinding you a bit, he stepped to his left to protect you from the light.
- Because I like you and that would be a shame if I had fallen for my teammate's girlfriend.
- You like me?
- Yes. I like you. Would you like to go out with me? - Satori asked with one breath, scared that if he won't say it fast he'd lose his confidence and back up.
You felt your cheeks turning red. You bit your lower lip and you collected the courage to look Satori in the eyes.
- Yes. I'd like that - you immediately dropped your gaze.
- No need to be shy, lil one. - He put his hand on the top of your head like he saw Shibaru do, but he was gentle, and wouldn't dare to mess with you. - It's not like I wasn't scared that you'd turn me down
- I wouldn't tho... - you said silently.
- Huh, you liked me too?
- Maybe?
- Hah, maybe is better than no. - Satori smiled. - Let's go. It's getting dark. - He started to slowly walk down the street, waiting for you to join him. You smiled to yourself and quickly even your steps with his.

Kuroo x cool fem reader
~~~
The sounds of squeaking sneakers could be heard coming from the Fukurodani gym. The school’s volleyball team was having a practice match against Nekoma, and the last point was finally scored by none other than the team’s captain himself.
The team erupted in cheers as the dark haired blocker peered through the net at his friend.
“What did I tell ya? Huh?” He said with a cocky smile. “I knew my team would win, didn’t I?”
The gray haired spiker looked away and furrowed his eyebrows.
“You guys just got lucky this time” He pouted, as Kuroo still wore his shit eating grin.
“Was it now? ‘Cause I really don’t think that me and Kenma could’ve pulled off sheer luck that many times, isn’t that right Kenma?” Kuroo said as he grasped the poor setter's shoulders.
“I dunno… it could’ve been luck for all we know.” Kenma mumbled, as Kuroo pushed him aside.
“Come on, don’t say that Kenma. You’re making us look bad.” He said, shaking his head. The three all headed to their bags to get a drink of water. Bokuto pulled out his phone and saw two notifications from you.
You:
hey is the game over yet?
You:
i can meet u there in like 10
Bokuto smiled at his phone, glad to see that his plan was gonna work.
Bokuto:
Yeah that works!!
Bokuto:
And you gotta trust me on this one, you guys will totally hit it off!!”
You:
we’ll see about that
Bokuto put his phone in his pocket. He had plans to set up two of his closest friends and he needed to make sure it went well.
Bokuto:
Trust me. It’ll be great.
You looked at the final message Bokuto sent and rolled your eyes, before falling back onto your bed.
~~~
One day earlier…
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU GOT A 93 ON YOUR EXAM??” Your best friend cried, staggering away from you with shock. “I mean exactly what it sounds like, Bo.” You grinned, sliding the test towards him. You leaned back in your chair with a proud smirk plastered on your face as Bokuto’s eyes scanned over your paper. “How is that even possible..??” He questioned, slamming his head down against the table as he groaned with annoyance. You laughed at his actions as you reached his downward facing paper. “I guess I’m just a genius. And c’mon, yours can’t be that bad.” You rolled your eyes as you flipped over his paper.
“57, Not impressed”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his results. “OH MY GOD BO...57?? I’M SORRY BUT LIKE…57..BWAHAHAHA” Your best friend groaned again, pulling his hair over his ears.
You wiped your tears as you finally calmed down.”I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to laugh, but like how do you even manage to score that low?” You grinned at him. “Leave me alone” He carried out the last word as his voice was muffled against the table. “I don’t need another nerd making fun of my grades.” This made you perk up a bit. “Another? I didn’t know Akaashi made fun of your grades.” He finally tilted his head against the desk so you could see his face. “No, not him, I mean Kuroo. The guy will never give me a freaking break.” He whined as you laughed again. “Oh yeah? Sounds like me and this “Kuroo” would get along.” You joked, causing Bokuto to shoot up and look at you.
“Wait a minute..” He squinted, rubbing his chin. “You might be right, you guys are pretty similar.” He thought out loud. “How so?” You encouraged him to continue, to which he responded with the similarities of your humor, personalities, and even intelligence.“...So yeah, I’d say you guys are prettyyy similar.” he finished. “He must be a cool guy then, eh?” You raised your eyebrows. Bokuto had a smile creeping onto his face as he had an idea pop into his head. “Oh yeah, totally. You guys should hang out sometime!” He pushed. “I dunno, Bo. I don’t even know the guy, and I know plenty of people already.” You looked at your friend, who now had a big smile plastered onto his face. “Oh come onnnn, you guys will totally hit it off!” He claimed, and you gave him a skeptical look. You rolled your eyes playfully at him as you finally agreed. “Fine, but just because I wanna see how cool this guy really is.” You said as your friend cheered. “Yes! Yes! You guys will get along perfectly! I know the perfect time for you to meet! Just you wait!” He exclaimed as you rolled your eyes playfully.
He better not be too much like Bokuto, I really don’t think I’ll be able to handle having another idiot for a friend.
But what you didn’t know is that Bokuto had a bit more up his sleeve than you may have thought.
~~~
Present day…
You quickly pulled on a pair of sweatpants and an old tee shirt before heading downstairs. You opened the door to be hit with a cool autumn breeze as you began walking to where Bokuto told you to go.
You finally arrived at a small café that was by the school and headed in. You looked around at the few people in the building hoping to see your friend, but he was not there.
Huh, I’m pretty sure this was where he said. You thought as you sat down at a small table by the door. You pulled out your phone to text Bokuto as you heard the door open behind you. You turned around to see a tall boy with black hair. He looked about your age, and was quite attractive. He looked around the store eagerly until he caught your eye. You slightly smiled at him and decided to speak up. “‘Are you meeting someone here too?” You asked as he grinned back. “Yup.” You laughed slightly as you looked back down to your phone to send another text to Bokuto.
You:
yo im here, where r u?
Seen, 1:15
You:
I hate to break it to you bo but i know ur reading this
Seen, 1:17
You rolled your eyes at your friend as you then heard a chair scuffing across from you. You looked up to see the black haired boy from earlier standing before you. “Mind if I sit here?” He said, with his cocky grin back on his face. You felt yourself smiling back at the boy as you nodded. “Go ahead.” He sat down across from you and nodded a thank you. You looked back down at your phone, still awaiting a response from Bokuto, to find that your messages were still left on read. You were starting to get annoyed and began to type another message, but before you could send it you heard a voice clear across from you.
“Who are ya texting?” The boy across from you asked. You looked up to meet his eyes and cocked an eyebrow. “Why would I tell you that?” The boy laughed lightly, before looking back at you. “Well don’t you think it’s a bit rude to be on your phone when you could be talking to a really cool guy who happens to be right across from you?” You shook your head at him with annoyance before meeting his eyes once again. “Well don’t you think it’s a bit rude to intrude on a strangers personal conversations?” You shot back, to which the boy raised his eyebrows in amusement. “Who says we have to be strangers?” You slightly laughed at his question before responding. “Well considering that we know nothing about each other I’d say that that is what we are.” The boy smiled slightly as he rested his head in the palm of his hand. “But we don’t have to stay strangers, you know?” He said as you rolled your eyes at him and looked back at your phone. “And I wouldn’t say that we know nothing about each other.” He continued, causing you to look back up at him. “Oh yeah? Well then what do you know about me Mr. Smart Guy?” You raised your eyebrows as he laughed. “Well I know that you must like coffee.” He gestured to the café that you guys were in. “Yeah? Well what kind do I like?” You questioned him, to which he shrugged. “You tell me.” You laughed at his statement. “‘You tell me’? I thought you were supposed to know this about me already.” You playfully squinted at him. “Well if you tell me I’ll be learning something about you.” His smile grew as he saw your amusement. “Touché Mr. Smart Guy. My favorite type of coffee is [favorite type].” You gave in to the boy as he leaned back proudly. See? Now I already know you a little better.” You shook your head at the boy with a smile. “Yeah, well what can you even do with that information?” You questioned him, as he stood up “I’ll be right back.” He said with a grin, walking towards the counter.
You watched as the tall boy said his order, feeling an unfamiliar feeling from being with him. You usually took a while to warm up to someone but he was different. It was like he could read your mind or something and was able to figure out how to get on your good side right away. It was weird.
A moment later, your thoughts were interrupted at the sound of two plastic cups hitting the table. “Hopefully you didn’t miss me too much.” The tall boy sat back down and slid you a drink. You shook your head with amusement. “You are ridiculous.” “And you are welcome for the drink.” The boy replied, taking a sip of his coffee. “So now you gotta figure something out about me.” He smiled as you sipped your drink. “Oh yeah? And why is that?” You asked. “So then we can finally go from “strangers” to “acquaintances”.” He grinned. “And who says that’s how we can become acquainted?” You asked in a teasing tone. “I do. Now what do you know about me?” The boy smirked slightly at seeing you squint at him, clearly amused by his question. “Well I know you like to buy random girls coffee.” You teased, to which he shook his head. “Nope, that's just one.” He laughed, as you found yourself blushing a bit. “And why is that?” You asked, as the boy gave you another smile. “Because maybe she seemed to have something special about her.” Which made you look down to hide your reddened face.
This boy.
He tilted his head down to try to see you again. “Getting a little blushy now, are we?” He teased, as you got yourself together and looked back up. “You wish.” He raised his brows at you as you continued. “And besides, it’s gonna take a bit more than a stranger to make me blush. Even if he’s pretty cute.” You smirked, as it was now his turn to flush pink. He quickly recovered and grinned back at you again. “Well how about a cute acquaintance?” He said, which caused you to laugh. “You tell me.” He rested his hands on the back of his head as he leaned back. “Well then, my dear acquaintance, how about we figure that out at dinner tomorrow at 7?” He asked you with a slight hint of nervousness in his voice.
Holy shit, is he asking me out?
You felt a big smile tugging at your lips as you pretended to think about his offer. “Hmm, I guess that sounds good.” You finally said, causing the two of you to smile. “Alright then. I guess I will see you there.” He said, standing up. “I guess so.” You agreed. He gave you one last smile before he turned to leave, but you quickly stopped him.
“Woah, woah, woah. You’re not just gonna leave without telling me your name, are you?” He laughed as he responded. “What, is ‘Mr. Smart Guy’ not gonna cut it anymore?” When he saw you squint at him he continued. “Alright, fine. The name’s Kuroo.” Your eyes widened briefly at the realization. That idiot set us up, didn’t he? But you shook it off as you decided to introduce yourself as well. “Nice to meet you, Kuroo. I’m Y/N.” You smiled, making him nod his head and repeat the name. “Y/N. Well it’s been nice to become acquainted with you, Y/N. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said. “See you tomorrow.” You gave him one last look before walking out the door.
As you began to walk home, you felt your phone buzz. You picked it up and read the notification from your friend.
Bokuto:
You’re welcome for the free date.
You shook your head at your friend before smiling at the phone. Maybe he’s not as much of an idiot as you thought after all.
A/N:
HIII I DIDNT HAVE MUCH TIME TO SPELL CHECK SO HOPEFULLY THIS ISNT TOO BAD
I ALSO  WROTE THIS AT LIKE 1 AM SO ITS KINDA SHITTY BUT HERE U GO!!
~~~
BONUS!!!
"Why did you drag me out here again?"
"I told you already, I'm setting up Y/N and Kuroo!"
"I understand that, but why do I have to be here for that?"
"..Because I didn't want to be alone..?"
The dark haired setter sighed at his friends straight forward response. The pair was hidden behind bushes outside of the cafe, as Bokuto excitedly waited for Kuroo to enter.
"OOH, OOH, KAASHI LOOK!"
The two watched as Kuroo walked into the small coffee shop.
"Wow, that's amazing." Akaashi replied sarcastically as Bokuto ignored him.
"He has no idea about Y/N. I told him I'd be meeting up with him today and- HELL YEAH HES SITTING AT HER TABLE!" The grey haired boy cheered as he saw his plan come together.
Akaashi sighed at his friend's behavior as he leaned back behind the bush.
"If we get caught you better tell them that I have nothing to do with this."

Kageyama Twins ~ Selfish Statues don't see their shadows
Selfish Statues don't see their shadows Part 1 - Meet
Shun Kageyama, has always been in the long cast shadow of his older twin brother Kento.
No one but himself seemed to have noticed this occurrence in their relationships between them and their peers.
It started out fine when they had first meet new teammates every year, as the two boys followed in their parents footstep joining Volleyball.
But the more their teammates got to know their skills, of which they inherited and honed from their parents. Kento with his great precision when setting up a ball for spikers and his open bubbly attitude.
They found Kento's skill to be on a higher level then Shun's. In volleyball and socializing.
This made eyes only on Kento, giving much praise for his natural skill, which made them failed to see his orange haired twin, become quiet and close himself off from others. From this too gave Kento an inflated ego.
And in their eyes, Shun would just fade into the background, just some extra in a show you watch. Just some random you'd recognize but never knew the name of.
To them he was just, "Kento's twin brother, right?"
***
It was the start of a new year. Highschool, the time of their lives they looked forward to starting, as it was the boom in their parents volleyball careers.
But you could say one was more excited then the other. Because the cycle of joining the boys volleyball club had to begin again.
The opening ceremony into the school went the same as they all did. Boring, but it was the presentations of the available clubs that got the two most excited.
On stage in front of them, the boys Volleyball club. There were about 9 people on the stage all lined up in the back, one of them sitting down on a chair with a Cast on his leg.
"The whole volleyball club is up there. I am definitely going to be the setter." Shun heard his brother talk to himself, standing a few people in front of him.
To this Shun just rolled his eyes. "Of course you are." He said more to himself then his twin brother, who laughs. Shun didn't have to see his brothers face to know there was the biggest smirk moulded on it.
Looking back to the stage as a tall brown haired guy with 2 thick strands of a dark blond bounced from the hair in a bun, approached the microphone. Eyes darting back and forth among the sea of first years, he was shaking as the silence rolled on.
"Oh come on, your meant to be captain stop being so nervous." Ignoring his brothers rather rude remark, Shun noticed that to boy seemed pretty nervous, his breathing seemed to have quickened, but then silver haired girl with a mole under her eye came up next to him and pat his back.
He looked at her and they smiled confidently, he turned to the crowd again and begin his introduction to the club and some of it's members.
'Oh wow, she is really pretty.' Shun thought staring up, never taking his eyes off the girl until the group of people had gone and a new set of students rolled on form the other side of the stage, Shun suddenly lost interest in what was being said and zoned out.
After that they were sorted into their classes. Not surprised, just like every other year. The twins were put in the same class again.
Shun hated it. Why couldn't he ever be in a different class to him. It's bad enough they had spent basically every second of their lives up till this point together.
He was just hoping for a break from his egotistical social butterfly of a brother.
Well the first day went okay, it was the same as always really. Shun having to wake Kento up during their classes but after the 3rd time of noticing his brother falling asleep he just acted like he didn't see and Kento got in trouble. Just like always. Making Shun laugh and His brother getting mad about it.
Then afternoon came around, just like always the two ran zigzagging through the halls, down to the 3rd gym where they held boys volleyball practice.
Racing, not taking eyes off of each other till there was a sudden door slammed right into their faces.
Falling to the ground with a thump. They look up, in the doorway stood a girl. "Oh, sorry about that. Are you two here for the Volleyball club?"
The two held their heads from the collision. Starring up at the girl.
'It's her, the silver haired girl, from before.'
Shun though to himself blinking a few times and realized the hands held out to them, and he look it without hesitation, touching her hand he blushed a little
'I touched the pretty girls hand' Shun's thoughts then interrupted by his brother's voice.
"Yes! I am here for volleyball." Kento yells sprinting pass her without even a thanks.
Shun rolled his eyes sighing. He was to tired from all this new school work they had to do to be as enthusiastic as his energetic brother.
"Thank you" he says to her, she smiled and pull his into the gym right after Kento.
"Hey! I am Kageyama Kento, I'm the setter!" Announced barging into the gym with not regards to those busy practicing.
Regardless, everyone around shouts a hello of some kind, the most excitable being the grey haired girl, jumping up and squashing him into her chest, Kento tries to push away from her "Hey let go!" And she does after a few more seconds.
His brother forgetting all about him again then introduced himself next.
"And I am his twin brother Kageyama Shun. I like to spike, but I can do just about anything really, and I have better grades." He poked fun, knowing full well that kinda comment makes his brother mad.
She does the same to Shun, his cheeks squishing into her bouncy chest, which he loves. 'OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD'
Shun awkwardly wrapped his arms around her, hoping it would prolong the breasts in his face. She laughs holding on a little tighter crushing him a little then letting him go. Shun stumbled a back slightly dazed.
"What! No, your receives and services aren't that good honestly, you just suck." Shun snaps out of his haze, shaking his head to pay attention to his brothers words.
"I still have better grade, Mr I fall asleep in every class." Shun snapped back, poking his finger in Kento's face, but Kento just slaps it away deepening his frown.
Good grades. It was the only thing he could hold over his brother's head their whole lives. That Shun always had the better grades.
"Alright you two, enough." The silver haired manger says. "Welcome to the team Kageyama Shun, Kento." A tall guy with light brown hair stepped crutches first, into the gym, changing over his shoe, to greet the two. It's was the one siting in the chair on stage.
"Now, uh Suga-chan is that all of them?" He questions looking over their heads. She shook her head glancing at the clipboard in hand.
"There should be one more of the 1st years." She tells him, and he thanks her.
"Arh okay, so there isn't any notice of when he is getting here so we'll just start with some warmups, in 10 mins."
"Do as you please till then." He finished traveling over to the light brown haired boy that Shun and Kento had assumed to be the captain. But that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
"Oi Manager! Who's the tall guy." Kento yelled out, pointing, gaining the attention of some of the others. Shun shocked a little slaps his brothers hands down.
"Stop that, it's rude to point and shout in Japan. Were not on the beach anymore. You look just like uncle Aone." Shun snickered behind his hand as Kento worried checked for his eyebrows.
"Oi Manager." she says in a mocking tone. "Look, I am not just the manager here." Suddenly turning her head to see over her shoulders.
The space around them cold and eerie,
'Man that's actually kinda hot.'
It surprised the twins so much that they stumbled back a bit and bumped straight into another person coming through the gym doors.
"Hey!" The deep voice scared them turning around quickly Shun apologized to him A scary face they swear they have seen somewhere before.
A man with a red track suit, slicked back dark hair that was thinning out with strand of grey held by a hairband, stood in to door, behind him a smaller man with wild black hair and classes shyly waves.
"Sorry about him boys, didn't mean to scare you. He is a real softy once you get to know him." The two look away, sceptical about that, but then see looking back at the shorter man, "Ittetsu." He mumbles, embarrassed, his eyes soften, irises expanding at the site of him.
"Come on Keishin, don't scare the first years on the first day, they might quit." glasses says patting the others chest, making him flush.
"Like hell I would quit! You don't scare me!" Kento shouts at them puffing his chest out proud. Shun didn't pay much attention to the conversations happening after that, as he he was stuck thinking, why the name seemed familiar to him.
"Ah cap! Takeda coaches are here!" Suga calls to the tall dark haired guy again, sitting in the side who just waves, "Alright everyone over here please!"
Everyone made thier way over to the captain, sitting down on the floor in front as the two men stood next to him.
"Come meet each other!" The short man with straggly greying hair and glasses called out to the whole gym.
"Alright, new guys let us introduce you to the Takeda's, our Coaches and teacher supervisor."
"Coach Takeda Keishin feel free to call him TaKei-san well all do here and this Takeda Ittetsu." The two introduced wave when Thier names are said.
"UKAI!!! YOUR KEISHIN UKAI!" Shun suddenly yelled out loud as the thoughts finally came together. Everyone looked right at him for the sudden out burst, he shrunk down in his spot, turning a bottle red from embarrassment, especially when Takeda just starts laughing.
"Haha.. i-i'm sorry love." Takeda calming down from the fit of giggles
"Uh yeah, well I got married so I'm Takeda now, but why if that important right now?" Keishin says scratching the back of his head.
"No one but these goofs have called me that in years." He said looking over a Toshiba who glaced away whistling to himself, trying to hold in a chuckle.
"You coached for our Dads back when they were just in Highschool!" Shun told everyone, sitting up again looking to the two men with excitement in his eyes.
"Oh right. Your the Kageyama Twins yeah?" He questions pointing between the two. Kento seemed to gain excitement and blurted "You've Heard of me? Wow I didn't think I was that we'll know yet." He huffed standing up proud, resting his balled fists on his hips.
Looking around the rest of the team didn't seem impressed by the words he spit.
"No, no kid. We did coach your Parents, Shoyo and Tobio. I heard they got together but I thought it was just a rumor that Shoyo gave birth to twins." Keishin explained himself to the group, some just nod and hummed a response.
"You know your parents played against the Miya twins before Osamu went to work as an Onigiri restaurant owner and Atsumu played the same team as Shoyo a few years after he graduated." Takeda Ittetsu started rambling on.
"Uh yeah, they told us the super long boring stories about how they met Thier 'friends' and all." Kento interrupted Ittetsu before the story telling could go on any further.
"Don't mind him, he never bothers to listen to the exciting history of our family. He only care for himself." Shun says nonchalantly.
Kento's head whipped around to Shun, Scoffing. "That so not true."
"Anyways. I am your Captain out of order, due to an injury, Toshiba Saturo." (Last, First name)
"Sugawara Daia, our Manager and mum friend,Big sister of the team. She has a friend that pops in to watch practice from time to time so don't be scared when you see a person with black tipped white hair."
"This is my number 2, Toto Yuni" pointing to his left a guy who stood quiet close to him.
"Number 3, Fumuko Tashigawa."
"Jersey 4, 3rd year Nishinoya Yuuma," Toshiba points the the guy that they had seen up oth the mic on stage early with Sugawara.
"Jersey 5, 2nd year, Tanaka Kiyoryuu." A boy with striking electric blue eyes, bleach blond hair tired in a manbun with an undercut and a mole that sat below his lip, grins wildly and waves to the two.
"6, Midori Kiboken, Setter." A guy with short black hair and dark green eyes raised his hand. Shun heard his brother growl at the mention of another setter on the team.
"7, Dekinii Shimiza," hazel eyes and Light brown hair.
"8, Giru Nanako." Black hair and greyish blue eyes.
"Then you three would be 9, 10 and 11 for the other guy." Toshiba finally finished introducing the team to the two.
Toshiba, claps his hands and tells them all to take 10 laps around the inside of the gym they sat in. Everyone with a "Yes Cap!" Stands and gets to it.
*****
Later on in the day the boy looks around from the entrance of the lower first years hall, looking at his map of the school. Very confused by the way it was drawn, he stopped a teacher near by asking to point him in the right direction and she smiled brightly.
"Sure thing love, just that way past the basketball courts and up to the right." The boy bows to her quickly, jogging off that way.
After a moment he found his way and was headed to the Gym, where they held the boys volleyball practices in.
At the door slightly panting from rushing over, not wanting to miss another second to start practicing with his new teammates!
There he finds an assortment of new faces that he is sure he will become good friends with from this point on.
"Hello! My name is Tsukishima Kadashi!" He introduced himself.
Everyone in that gym turn to him. 1 of them running straight up closer. And girl with a mole under her brown eyes and sliver hair.
"Welcome to the team Tsukishima!" The silver hair girl jumps crushing him into her chest like she always did. Looking over the see of new faces, his eyes catch sights of a pale, black haired boy with sparking chocolately brown eyes, his mouth slightly agape starring right back at Kadashi.
Neither of the two seemed to want to look away and wasn't till thier eyes smacked away by a ball hitting the kids face. Kadashi noticed a orange haired boy next to him, with dark blue eyes, darker skin and quite a similar face to the other.
Hitting the blacked boy again with a volleyball, "Stop starring you idiot, thats rude."
"Arh Shut up Shun!" The other tries to swipe, but he dodged.
'The orange haired one, his name is Shun huh. That's not usually a Family name is it?' Kadashi thought to himself.
"Oh so Tsukishima, come meet everyone." A taller guy on crutches came over to the door to meet the freckled faced kid.
"That's the Kageyama Twins Shun and Kento, they are first years like you."
And the Captain Toshiba went on introducing everyone. The next day he got to meet the Coaches and had a similar reaction to Shun about the two men coaching Kadashi's own father's.
The taller of the two looked confused, saying. "Oh are you Amishi's Brother? I didn't know they had a son, the same age as her?" The shorter teacher with glasses wacked him in the chest and pull his away.
The taller looking even more confused why Take was mad all of a sudden. Takeda turning to TaKei "Keishin, come here." The man sighs but watches trying not to smile as his husband waddles over to him.
The Kageyama's looked to each other. "You have a sibling?" Questioning the freckled boy, getting up in his face, who looks away seeming uncomfortable by the words of the coach and how TaKei-San looked at him after Takeda-san whispered to him.
(That what I feel like they would call Keishin from now on, some still calling him UKAI dispite his protest to it.
Some of the 3rd years do it just to spite that man. It would be kinda fun sometimes.)
The boy pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, moving back a few steps looking around for maybe a way out. Toshiba noticing this gets everyone's attention to start their afternoon practice.

Note
just finished htkgamf (is that the best way to abbreviate it, it looks like a keysmash lol) & i'm in LOVE with this book and every character in it (sam and mirai are just the sweetest omg). can't wait for the rest of the series to fuck me up the way bbac did :D i do have two very silly questions 👀 1. are there official ship names yet. danaviv? vividana? isaam? saisaac? emiline? chrismile? brynmark? markja? help. 2. if the cast of ylg were in a hs volleyball au, which positions would they play?
you can abbreviate it as ylg (your local guides) for the series in general! as for specific books, good fucking luck with those acronyms hahaha
i'm so glad you've enjoyed it!! and the characters ;o; they're my babies obv. (sam and mirai are gonna be tied for the purest bffs. the other tied top place also involves sam.) the rest of the series will definitely get fucked-up-ening, because we have yet to introduce the angel, or the tariaksuq, or the antagonist romance! (i'm so excited for that because thomas is THIRSTY but also he has PLANS and too much pride)
for ship names - i've been referring to dana & viv just as vivdana most of the time (because i'm old-fashioned with ship names and viv definitely tops more than half the time), but i haven't given much thought to others! i'm gonna let the fandom hash that out. THAT SAID, emiline is the fucking cutest name.
OH BOY VOLLEYBALL
isaac would be a very borderline lazy energy-conserving setter just because it's too fucking funny not to fall into that. he wouldn't trust anyone else to serve to him, anyway.
dana would be a manager and everyone would be like YOU ARE SO TALL WHY???? but she'd be too self-conscious and nervous to play since she'd be a newbie and everyone else is So Skilled (they're not). she'd be very good at organizational things, though. and pretty much soccer mom levels of enthusiasm and aggressive support during a match.
you thought tendou as the guess monster was bad, just imagine mark ito, clairvoyant extraordinaire, as a middle blocker who is set on ruining your life
natalie as a setter who you absolutely CANNOT READ. she has no tells. you won't know where she's setting until the ball's halfway to its target. the other players on her team won't know, either, but it somehow works out.
viv is........ very short. and not fast or has jump height like hinata, so i don't see her as playing any position well, but by god she would TRY and she'd be super aggressive about trash-talking the other team, though. probably a benchwarmer. i don't know what kind of role she'd play, i guess a wing spiker but she'd be very focused on receiving and defense. i'm not sure she could clear the net with her jump at all.
megan is also very short but probably has jump height out of pure spite or something. they'd make a good decoy bc of how talkative and cute they are, so they're very distracting when they want to be. psychological torture time.
hammond is the best wing spiker out there but too humble to take the ace title. (actual reason: does NOT want the extra pressure.) he's tall and moves his body very well so he'd be a GREAT and very dependable point-getter. probably also blows kisses and winks and gives pet names to the other team.
rory (alive mode) would also be a mean middle blocker, because he's decently tall and has aggressive tendencies. also blows kisses and winks and gives (mean) pet names to the other team.
christine (alive mode) is the shortest member of the cast so she's. just there. she's like a mascot or something and is glad that she's out of the spotlight and doesn't have the pressure of being a main player.
emil is probably one of those jack of all trades, master of none type players! he's gangly-tall but a little awkward with his limbs, but quick enough that he could fill most roles decently.
thomas is the ace, of course, because he's good at everything!! it's his role in life. i'm sure he's very happy and stable with it.
codi is also an ace and somehow even scarier/her reputation is more intimidating than thomas is, despite having a lower overall average points per match/lower win ratio.
mirai is a decoy through sheer virtue of still not 100% knowing how to play and thus bringing utter chaos onto the court.
sam is just there to have fun and support his friends :)

5- Kageyama turns into a kid!
Fukurodani team is waiting for their turn to play, Tobio saw different teams with smile on his face while he watches the game but he felt hungry so he then gets off the bench he was sitting on and goes find a kitchen but not until he bumps into someone who happens to be one from Fukurodani Akaashi Keiji as he looks down at Tobio and said "I'm sorry Kageyama, I'm Akaashi Keiji."
Tobio look up and saw most beautiful human being he see as he then blurts out "You're so pretty." Keiji lifts his lip up to smile at Tobio reply "Thank you but your cute." Keiji bop Tobio nose as he blushes as he touches his nose that has been bop at as he was shyly look at Keiji and smiles at him which he got return but not before there's a rumble as Keiji looks at Tobio while Tobio then look down in embarrassment.
"Are you hungry, Kageyama?" Keiji asked as he saw Tobio nod at him as he then told him to follow him which he did as they go to the kitchen "So what would you like to have?"
Tobio put his arms up asked excitedly, "Onigiri!" Keiji eyes did widen a bit that Tobio also likes onigiri as he start making one for himself and Tobio as Tobio watches as he asked "Can I help?" Keiji nod at Tobio saying you can as Tobio eyes lit up as he helps Keiji but Tobio asked "Are you a setter?" Tobio tilt his head as Keiji respond "Yes I am, want me to teach you when you have your snack." Tobio nods fast excited to play and going to be teach for his favourite position.
They both finishing making onigiri they each took a bit as they have flower aura around them but not before Osamu came in and saw the sight and the onigiri as he drools while Tobio saw and took one and goes to Osamu and pull his shirt to get his attention which it did as Osamu look down and saw Tobio holding onigiri to him as Tobio said "Here you go!" Tobio smile up at him as Osamu lazily smile back as he takes it from Tobio small hands "Thanks Tobio."
"You like onigiri too" Tobio asked Osamu as he nods at Tobio refereeing he does as Keiji take his phone out and take picture of Tobio like who can't resit the cuteness.
"What your name? and what position do you play, do you like volleyball?" Tobio rumbles as he was talking Osamu and Keiji look at each other decided to look after Tobio while everyone plays volleyball even though Tobio could go and be with the managers but the two doesn't want to and it is their opportunity as well.
Osamu answered all Tobio questions "Miya Osamu, play wing spiker and yea like volleyball." As they both see Tobio eyes lit up in amazing.

[HAIKYUU!!] Season 2 episode 5
Now that karasuno has their secret weapon back on the team, shits bout to get real for the other sch teams
Hol up she still here lol??
HELL YEAH LETS GO GINGER! SHOW EM UR SPEED
oop he still closes his eyes, thought he was past that now
OH SHIT- LEV ACTUALLY BLOCKED IT, AND HASN'T EVEN BEEN 5 MINUTES. Hinata really should learn to keep his eyes open
"what's read blocking again?" Bruh 😭
Well fuck, he sucks at understanding the terms n shit of volleyball, but he's good
I thought for sec that hinata was like overthinking shit cuz they lost a point twice to Lev, but nah that ain't his style, he's too tenacious to be put down like that. Kageyama is hella confused tho lol, which is fair
UHHH HINATA??? UH OH my guy was way too into it
... sorry old man, ya lost me a bit there with ur evolution talk...
EYO KAGEYAMA hun ya gotta trust your spikers, you may be the one prepping the shot, but in the end the spikers are the ones shooting for it, so trust ur lil guy
They've finally realized that they gotta chnage things up, or else they'll never beat the bug leagues. OH THAT'S WHAT THE OLD MAN NEKOMA COACH MEANT OK
Damn wasn't expecting that motivating speech to come from u, mr. Advisor, but also not surprising
Yeah, hinata can't keep doing those quick attacks blind, cuz how else will he notice that it'll get blocked? And kageyama i dont doubt that ur ability to read hinata's skill level is wrong, but you also can't just tell him no without trying, there's a reason for practicing isn't there?
I forget sometimes that the quick attack is called that for a reason, the show's just been giving us a slightly slowed down version for the sake of watchability
OOF- welp got a new protagonist i guess, really switched out the mc for a background character
God i love hinata's ability to just befriend everyone, including his supposed rivals HSKHSKS
Love how mr. Advisor (yea i ain't memorizing the name lmao) is being optimistic
Hhhhh oh boy... He does need to practice being able to keep his eyes open tho, he can't keep going in blind forever
Oof, there it is. That's the thing, hinata can't keep relying on his setter to give him a perfect shot, if he does then he himself won't ever get better with his own skill
Gotta say the animators made how physical fights happen irl rather realistic, not every fight is just punch and kick, most of the time it's mainly grabbing and pulling and shoving at each other
HHHHH HINATAAAA THESE TWO BETTER MAKE IT UP SOON OR SO HELP ME
Oh right asahi never met the two of them the first time they arrived, so he never actually got to see what they were like in the beginning stages
"could hinata be one of those spikers?" Well yeah he's the protagonist lmao

Genshin [Volleyball Team AU - Inspired by Haikyuu!] What it’s like to be their manager Headcanons
Note: I think a lot of people misunderstand the role of the manager XD It’s not that the whole team is dating you. It’s that the whole team treats you like their family/sister. So you’d better bet that all of them are gunna be hella protective of you XD
Scenario: What do you do for the team and what do they do for you? :D
Warnings: not proofread, fluffy, might have some swear words, platonic relationships
Characters: Zhongli, Diluc, Kaeya, Albedo, Tartaglia, Kazuha, Xiao, Tohma, reader as the team manager
Other works in the Volleyball Team AU Series: Click Here
Genshin Volleyball Team manager
It’s just fuckin’ chaos
On your first day you’re already bombarded with questions by Tartaglia and Kaeya
“So which class are you?” “What’s your height?” “Are you single?”
Captain Zhongli just cannot be bothered to reign them in anymore.
So Vice Captain Diluc does it and grabs their collars. “You idiots, you’re scaring her off!”
Possibly Kazuha and Tohma are the ones you really try to rely on, on your first few weeks.
So how do you gain the trust of your team? Let’s start with each player shall we?
#1 Zhongli (Captain/Wing Spiker/Ace)
Zhongli is just handsome and mature. He’s strict and needs to be the pillar of the team.
You’re intimidated by him the first few weeks and he just seems...a little far. He’s always so focused that you can’t seem to catch a moment to just chat with him.
There’s a day where you notice that his form is a little off, you suspect that he hurt his wrist a little.
You fidget uncomfortably in the gym as they practice, but finally turn to the coach “U-Umm... The captain is... I mean! I’m not sure, but... I think he needs to take a rest,”
The coach calls for someone to substitute Zhongli and suddenly asks you to check on him.
“Huh?! Me?!” the coach pushes you towards him, and Zhongli is just looking at you quizzically, you can practically see the question mark on his face.
“C-Captain, d-do you need some bandages on your wrist?”
Zhongli is taken aback, but silently puts his right wrist out for you to wrap.
Only when you’re done tending to it does he look you in the eye and ask.
“How did you know?”
“...Because I always watch, and all I can do is watch. If I can’t even spot that out then I’m not a very good manager am I?”
Zhongli has a newfound respect for you. He thought you were just a meek and shy thing sitting around and passing them balls but he feels his heart swell that someone like you is seriously watching over them.
#2 Diluc (Vice Captain/Wing Spiker/Defense Specialist)
Diluc is probably the second hardest to get along with or break the ice with.
But he gradually warms up to you when he notices that he’s always the first one you pass a towel and water bottle to.
You’re not doing that on purpose, it’s just him who always comes up first.
After a few days he deliberately goes to you faster cause he always wants to be the one to receive a water bottle and towel from you first. Secretly a puppy.
The moment he realized that you were reliable was when you stayed behind to help him practice when everyone else went home already.
You didn’t let up in your constant praise of “nice receive”, “great spike!” and “that’s so cool!”
He thinks he saw stars in your eyes at some point.
“Hey, Diluc, it’s getting late, let’s leave some energy for tomorrow, yeah?” he could tell from your mannerisms that you were tired too, but you tried not to let it show on your face and still cleaned up with him.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then!” you wave but you’re stopped by a quick. “No,” from him. You tilt your head in wonder and he just looks at you as if it’s the most normal thing in the world.
“It’s late, I’ll walk you home,”
#3 Kaeya (Middle Blocker)
You don’t have to impress this guy, anyone of the female gender impresses him.
lol jk
safe to say it’s not difficult to befriend Kaeya, just bring him a cheering squad and some food.
all jokes aside the way to this guy’s heart is through his stomach.
He’s not a particularly hungry person but there’s this one time he forgot to bring lunch. He was running late, or something of that sort, honestly not something new for him.
He ALSO didn’t bring money so he couldn’t eat food from the cafeteria.
Ask his friends for money you say? Tartaglia would go, “Haha no way!” Albedo would go, “Let this be a lesson for you,” his brother would go “Serves you right,”
By club time he’s famished and dramatic. “Guys, go on without me, this is as far as I go,” as he sprawls on the gym floor.
You ask if he’s okay and he doesn’t answer so Diluc is the one that answers for him. “He forgot his lunch, as always,”
You make a sound of understanding and the next thing you know you’re taking out a lunch box and Kaeya has lifted his head up, sensing food.
“I packed onigiri for everyone today, actually... In case someone was hungry. It’s not much but--”
Kaeya comes alive from the dead and clutches your hands to his chest. “Manager you really are an angel,”
Diluc jump kicks him away from you.
#4 Albedo (Setter)
You also don’t know how to approach this guy
He always looks mad or stoic or something. Like he’s always thinking about something.
He low key actually is always thinking about play strategies and how to set the ball better for his teammates.
You really do think he works so hard while the game is going on, so you decide to help him out a little bit.
You watch a few more of their games and somehow come up with a list of what kinds of sets are better for each different spiker in the team.
There’s surprise in his eyes when you pass the document to him and modestly exclaim “...but, it might not be accurate, since I’m not that experienced,”
He still nods and says “...It’s the thought that counts,”
When he does read your report and try the techniques out he notices that it does hold some merit in it
Is amazed like how Zhongli is amazed. He thought you were just there to hand them bottles and cheer for them but he had never been so wrong as to what a manager’s role is.
Will trust you enough to ask you about his set performance.
Will sometimes slam Kaeya with an insult. “Kaeya, your spike sense is horrid, Y/N can read the moves better than you,”
#5 Tartaglia (Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
It’s not that he has a hard time trusting people but let’s just say he has the tendency to make you feel like he likes you but then he actually does that to everyone.
For example: He’ll throw compliments like “Oh that’s amazing Y/N!” but then back in the classroom you’ll hear him say “Oh that’s amazing!” to, like, every other person.
That kinda disappoints you cause then the comment doesn’t really hold that much meaning to it if he keeps on saying it to others too.
He encounters a crisis mid year because this guy is just... he struggles with his grades.
Captain Zhongli has told him he can’t play volleyball if he fails even one subject.
This boy is panicking and has semi-accepted this is the end of his volleyball career.
So you offer to study with him and he’s legit stoked.
Intensive and strict study sessions commence. Note taking, pop quizzes, surprise questions and even sudden random calls from you wherein you ask him a question and he has to answer within 5 seconds.
You’ve pulled all the study techniques you know here, this man better pass everything.
Welp, he still fails History....but since he worked so hard Captain Zhongli excuses it.
He’s so happy that he can’t hold back the stupidly wide smile on his face. He turns to you and for the very very first time in months, he bows and THANKS you.
You realize that he’s never thanked you before. Not even when you pass him water bottles or towels.
You consider it a win, getting rare and sincere appreciation from him.
#6 Kazuha (Decoy/Middle Blocker/Wing Spiker)
One of the easiest to get along with but at the same time, he’s so mature that you feel like you’re not even in the same age range as him.
Definitely someone you can count on though, so you ask him many questions on the first week.
Still, it’s one of those things where you can kind of talk to him but there’s still a wall between you two.
One day while walking around in school there were these boys who were commenting about his height, and questioning his abilities as a volleyball team member.
You didn’t really think much about it when you speak up, “But he’s a really good middle blocker and spiker,”
Those boys look at you weirdly and you realize that you’ve unconsciously spoken up. So you hurriedly walk away.
Little did you know that Kazuha was in some secret corner and heard the whole thing.
Just like that, the next day, it seems as if the wall between you two was gone, and you’re able to talk freely.
That, and he seemed to like asking you to help him practice his spikes and throw balls for him now.
#7 Xiao (Libero)
is deceivingly easy to get along with. Just has a rough exterior but is actually a softie if you squint.
You know this because there are subtle things he does.
He doesn’t speak to you much but then he would be the one picking up the balls with you, or sometimes there’s magically a new set of clean towels on the bench that you don’t remember taking out from the storage room.
This guy is passionate for the game, so he really beats himself up when he isn’t able to receive a ball during actual games.
You worry about his mentality sometimes. I mean, it’s a team game, it’s not like he alone can save the whole game
So you talk to him about it the other day
“You’re already a really good libero Xiao, I mean... I’m not saying you should stop practicing but you don’t have to feel so bad...” you pause because this doesn’t feel like the message you want to convey
“Sorry, what I mean is... You CAN feel bad, but share the burden with your team, you know?”
He knows what you’re saying and contemplates it for a while. He knows that his team has his back, but sometimes just needs reminder about it.
He looks at you and asks, “...Can I share the burden with you too?”
You blink “Huh?”
“You said I can share the burden with my team, but can I share it with you too?”
There is a blush on his cheeks at this point.
“Oh, yea! Of course! I don’t play but I’m still part of the team you know!”
Ever since then, during games, if he feels a little frustrated he’d glance at you on the bench and you’d give him a thumbs up for a job well done.
#8 Tohma (Pinch Server/Middle Blocker)
You’re like bffs the moment you see each other
lol jk
You’re still awkward with him the first few days cause that’s just how first meetings are.
But he is very easy to talk to and always makes you feel at ease
Will always be the one to ask how you are if you need any help or if class was okay in general
Seems like the type of person to care more about others than himself
So he’s surprised when you come into the gym and you beat him to asking his usual questions.
“Tohma, how are you today? Did you have a proper lunch?”
“Tohma, are you getting tired? Want some water?”
“Tohma, how was class today?”
All the other members of the team turn to look at the two of you, thinking ‘Why does Tohma get extra attention?’
Tohma certainly doesn’t get extra attention you just TALK to him more. The other members deadass are also getting cared for by you, just in different ways.
This boy has some insecurities though, when it comes to playing the game. He hasn’t been in it for long so he’s the least experienced and that gets to him sometimes.
“Oh, really? But you play really well! I couldn’t tell that you’re new”
His serves are really amazing though.
“Also! You always score points for us with the serves. Sometimes, your serves are my favourite part of the game!”
Has practiced extra hard so as not to let you down.

So I'm reading your works and I love them !! I was thinking of requesting some kind of drabble or whatever you like, about a female reader who has thick thighs and is somewhat plump and is in love with Tsukishima but he makes a comment about the food and she feels bad and when she meets Bokuto in the boot camp Bokuto is too cute and attentive to her asking for her number and a date. If you don't feel comfortable with this, just ignore it and good luck with your blog. Sorry my english is bad<3

Tsukishima
You and Tsukishima have been dating in your first year (as you both went to the same middle school together.)
You were in love with Tsukishima, you always have been to be honest, but once you became officially boyfriend and girlfriend your feelings amplified.
But recently, Tsukishima hasn’t been so nice.
“Y/N we’re going on another training camp at Nekoma” Hinata exclaimed running up to you, as you leaning against Tsukishima “and you get to come too this time!”
You recently became the new trainee manager as the third-year manager, Kikyoko, is going to graduate. Tsukishima acted as if you being around all the time in practice was the worst thing in the world, but Yamagucchi always assured you that ‘Tsukki’ was just joking.
“Oh well that’s fun...” you say entertaining Hinata’s excitement. You were kind of excited to go to the training camp too, as it was in Tokyo after all. You were always a big fan of volleyball as your dad used to play for the national team and you were planning to play on the girls team this year but you felt that you didn’t have the body for it (which was obviously not true.)
Hinata kept on rambling on before Tsukishima insulted him. “Gosh Kei, you don’t have to be so rude.” you complained, he slightly nudged you off of him and put on his headphones showing you that he was not in a good mood.
You let the rest of the practice continue, making notes of things and basically being Kiyoko’s shadow. As it ended, you waited outside for Tsukishima to walk home with you, but one of the guys told you he left 5 minutes ago. You knew there was no point of chasing after him so you just walked on your own, making you sigh in defeat.
Tsukishima was what you would describe as hot and cold. Some days he was fine a ‘perfect gentlemen’ but other days, days like this Tsukishima was just Tsukishima.
When you got home, you decided to watch matches of all the other schools just to get some insight. You were watching a Fukarodani V Nekoma match from a few years ago and something caught your eye, well someone did to be more specific. A beefy, bicolour haired boy who was hooting like an owl was mesmerizing to watch.
You saw that his name was Bokuto Koutarou which triggered your next actions, which were to internet stalk him. You learned that he was the captain of the team and the team’s ace and the 5th ace in the country which piqued your interest in the boy even more.
‘This is going to be an exciting training camp’ you think to yourself before going to sleep.
`Kiyoko gave you an itinerary of all the things you should bring, since you weren’t going to be joining in any of the matches you were reminded to bring things that would keep entertained.
You get to the bus at the crack of dawn, ready to be driven to Tokyo. Hinata and Kageyama were already arguing (let’s pretend that they didn’t have to do the retakes in the test) Tanaka and Nishinoya were being loud, and the rest of the members were already asleep. You wanted to sit next to Tsukishima but when you were about to sit down, he put his carryon bag in the seat next to him.
The bus ride was around 4-5 hours, and you spent your time reading and sleeping. Daichi got the loudmouths to calm down making the bus ride more tolerable. You suffered from slight motion sickness but you powered through.
When you arrived there, you saw all the other teams and their buses too. You felt a bit overwhelmed, seeing these tall boys just crowd around an entrance way. But too your surprise, noticing your slight anxiousness, Tsukishima grabbed your hand in a hand-hold.
The Nekoma coach, explained how the day would pan out and where each team would be residing for the week. There was a lot of commotion getting everyone settled, Hinata and Nishinoya were basically bouncing off of the wall commenting on all the people and the place and how they’re going to ‘crush the competition.’
You could tell that when the other teams were looking at Karasuno they were all staring at Kiyoko. Inquisitive about how there wasn’t only one girl manager but there was two. As you were walking your eyes locked with Bokuto Koutarou’s making yours widen, you blush and turn your head quickly.
What you didn’t know was, after your small interaction, Bokuto elbowed Akaashi and said “Akaaashi AKKAAASHI, did ya see that? did ya?” he was flying with happiness “That girl from Karasuno smiled at me. She’s really pretty.”
“I think she’s from Karasuno” Akaashi said “So maybe you’ll see her around”
Bokuto stared off in the direction you were walking in “Yeah, hopefully.”
The first day, everyone got settled in and then the teams went straight into games. There were two different gyms and today, in gym 1, you were watching Karasuno V Nekoma. (By the way I literally don’t remember the teams at the training camp besides Nekoma, Karasuno and Fukarodani.) The game was very back a point each team making point after point, you already knew of Nekoma’s captain, Kuroo Testurou and the setter Kenma, you’ve actually played games with Kenma online before so you were fairly acquainted with him already.
The games ended and it was now dinner time, the canteen was packed with all the boys rushing to line up for the food. You waited at the back of the line, not really caring about when you got your food. Suddenly, you felt a tap on your shoulder and you looked over to see Boktuo,
“Hi.” he said “I’m Bok-”
“Bokuto Koutarou!” You finished “I'm a big fan..” you cringed immediately at your excitement ‘pull it together Y/N’ you scold yourself.
“Oh well hi, I’m glad you know who I am” he said “and may I ask for your name?”
“Oh I’m Y/N L/N” you say with a slight blush “I'm the trainee manager from Karasuno.”
“Cool! Well I hope to see you aro-” he starts
“Y/N, I’ve been looking all over for you, I already got your food for you.” Tsukishima said pulling at your arm a bit harshly, dragging you over to a table with the Karasuno team.
“Gosh Tsukki, no need to be so harsh” you say rubbing at your wrist, he didn’t apologize and just started eating his food.
You look down at your plate and see the small portion that Tsukki got for you. The Karasuno bunch was being loud, as they usually are, so when you whisper “Tsukki what the fuck is this” whilst nudging him in the side, he didn’t hear you (or atleast he pretended he didn’t.) You tried again but a little louder saying, “Tsukishima what the fuck is this.” you realised you said it a bit too loud as the whole Karasuno table stopped their conversations to look over at the slight commontion you caused.
“What do you mean Y/N?” he said with a slight smirk on his face.
“I mean what’s with the portion size of a bird that you gave me?” you ask getting upset “Do you really think im that big?”
“Well, you could start eating less that’s for sure.” he said earning gasps from you and some of the people sitting at the table “Y/N let's face it, you eat like a pig and you look like an elephant, me making your food portion smaller is the least I could do.”
By now you had tears in your eyes, Tsukishima was a dick. You knew this, everybody knew this to be honest, yet you still loved him. He wasn’t like this in middle school, yes he was a bit snarky and rude (but wasn’t every middle schooler?) High school Tsukishima was like a completely different person. As much as you wanted to run away and hide, you knew you couldn’t.
So you stood up and said “Tsukishima, I’ve spent 3 years loving and pining after you, because I thought you were this great guy, but turns out you’re a huge asshole” you start making some of the people listening in smile in laughter “Tsukishima, I’ve hated this past year dating you, you’ve been such a huge dick and I’m finally stopping you. I can’t do this anymore. I won’t.” You start making your way to exit before finally saying “Oh and by the way I’m not the pig here, you are... oh and I’m breaking up with you.” You left, hearing a few laughs and some claps behind you.
You felt relieved, like the massive cloud that’s been over your head is finally gone. You went to the gym since you knew it was empty and picked up a ball to just throw it around a bit. After a while of ‘de-stressing,’ you hear someone else enter the gym.
“Oh I didn’t know you’d be here.” said Bokuto
“Well here I am,” you say awkwardly “I can leave if you want me too, I know this is for actual volleyball players.”
“No no it’s fine you can definitely stay, in fact do you mind setting for me?” he asks
“Sure, of course I don’t mind” you reply, excited you get to play with someone.  You haven’t played in ages, you always begged Tsukishima to just throw a ball around with you but he never did.
You set to Boktuo a lot, with him always asking for ‘another one’ everytime he spiked the ball. Eventually, you were tired of setting and wanted to spike. You originally was a spiker to begin with taking after your dad. Thats why you took a liking to Bokuto in the first place cause he reminded you of the joys you had when watching your father play.
Bokuto set a ball to you and you spiked it with great strength and accuracy smiling at the burning feeling you felt in your palm.
“Woahh” Bokuto shouted going towards you in amazement “Where did you learn how to spike like that?”
“From my dad, I don’t know if you heard of him before but my dad’s name is D/N L/N...?” you say
“D/N L/N, Y/N he is my idol!” he shouted again “I want to be just like him.”
“I think you can, I see a lot of similarites in the way you both play.” you say
“Really! And you’ve seen me play before..?” he asks
“Yeah, I watched some of your games before coming here... you’re really good” you shyly admit.
“Wow.”
You and Bokuto spend the rest of your time, talking about volleyball you’re interests, things you have in common, your likes and dislikes. Talking to Bokuto was refreshing, he didn’t randomly insult you or make snide comments about your weight or your looks. He just genuinely looked happy to be there talking to you, unlike Tsukishima.
Seeing your change in mood, Bokuto stops talking and asks “are you alright? I forgot to ask earlier, but I saw what happened in the canteen and I hope you’re okay.”
“Yeah I’m fine, it’s just things with me and Tsukishima reached a breaking point, I guess...” you say sniffling a bit talking about it “But it’s fine now I’ve broken up with him and I feel better already.”
“So you’re saying your single...?” he asked blushing a bit
“Yeah I guess I am...” you smile blushing also.
“Okay great...well I hope this isn’t too forward after everything happened with Tsukki and all but...” he starts “but would you like to go on a date with me?”
“Who me?” you ask as if you weren’t the only other person in the room
“No the volleyball” he responds sarcastically “Of course you Y/N.”
“Are you sure, cause to be honest Bokuto you’re a really good-looking guy” you say making him smile widely “so I think you need someone to match your level in attractiveness” you look down and his smile drops.
“What do you mean?” he asks before realising all the stuff Tsukishima said about you “Y/N you’re beautiful, your face, your body just you.” you blush at his words “when I first saw you when you were walking past us in the entrance way the first thing I thought and said about you was “Akaashi who is that girl she’s beautiful.””
“Really?” you ask with disbelief
“Mhm” he nods excitedly “So will you go on a date with me?”
“I guess so...” you say a bit unsure
“HEY HEY HEY!” he exclaims “I gotta go tell akaashi!” he runs out of the gym in a hurry making you laugh, but he comes back to give you a quick unexpected kiss on the cheek making you smile.
You checked your phone for the time realising that you’ve been with Bokuto for 3 hours and you knew that everyone would be going to sleep now. As you are the manager you slept seperately from the rest of the team but before you went to your sleeping quaters you went to Karasunos.
“Y/N where have you been? We’ve been worried about you.” asked yammagucchi
“It’s fine yams don’t worry about it, guys” you say catching everyones attention “I just wanted to apologise to you for my outburst at dinner, it wasn’t my intention to cause a scence.”
“It’s fine Y/N” said sugawara “He definitely deserved it.”
“Yeah as your marvellous senpai we gave him a good telling off” said Tanaka and Nishinoya  making you chuckle.
“Okay well thanks guys, I’m going to sleep goodnight.”
“Wait Y/N can I speak with you.” asked Tsukishima gesturing to outside the room
“Umm sure” you respond following him into the corridor.
“I just want to say I’m sorry for the things I’ve said and done over the past year and how I’ve been a terrible boyfriend, you don’t deserve that. So, I’m sorry.”
“I can’t say I can forgive you yet.” you say making Tsukishima look sad “but maybe with effort from you we can become friends possibly?”
“Just friends?” he said with hope in voice thinking that you could be something more.
“Just friends.” you repeated and confirmed “Besides I have been asked on a date”
“With who?”
“None of your business stingyshima” you mock the nickname that Hinata calls him making him scowl and you smile “Goodnight.”
After Bokuto’s confession and Tsukishima’s apology, the rest of the training camp went off without a hitch. In your breaks and lunchtimes, you got to know more about Bokuto and with Kuroo’s help you even got to sneak out to actually go on your date. You sometimes even went to practice with them getting to show off your skills, with Bokuto cheering you on and complimenting you every single time.
Tsukishima kept his distance for the most part, and kept the snarky comments about you and Bokuto to himself (even though he was dying to say them.) You eventually fully forgave Tsukishima in your 3rd year but you definitely weren’t as close as you used to be. Tsukishima’s comments and actions did affect you for a while however with the help of your loving boyfriend, you were reminded how beautiful you are no matter what weight, shape or height you were.
You and Bokuto stayed together, you made sure to come to every one of his games and when you introduced him to your dad he fainted on sight. Your dad and Bokuto got along, and became very close friends, Bokuto always came to him for advice (especially volleyball advice.) You loved Bokuto and he definitely loved you too.
AN: I hope you liked it, since I didn’t want to make it too similar too the Atsumu insecure one. And I feel like it dragged out a bit but got rushed in the endd....but oh well...

“Osamu!” You screeched, attempting to push your older brother off of you. “Get him off!”
Atsumu had tackled you to the ground and was sitting on your back, cackling with satisfaction as he pinned you down.
“I can’t help ya.” Osamu smirked as he walked by. He sat on the couch adjacent to you and Atsumu with an amused glimmer in his eyes. “Shouldn’t have eaten his pudding.”
“Why do you care if I eat his pudding?!” You growled, thrashing around under Atsumu to get some kind of leverage while he sat on you with all of his weight, rendering your limbs useless.
“If you eat his pudding, then he eats mine.” Osamu shrugged, “And I hate it when he does that.”
“Take it up with him! I just grabbed whatever was closest. You guys are so weird with your labeled food!” You tried to throw a punch at Atsumu and he caught your fist easily, snickering when you let out a loud whine. “Atsumu, get OFF!”
“No can do, kiddo.” He grinned, “Ya know what happens when you eat our food.”
“I’m gonna tell mom.” You mumbled.
“That’s dirty. Don’t bring mom into this.” Osamu interrupted and you shot a death glare at him.
“Stop involving yourself! I don’t need your commentary.”
“Don’t be such a tattle tale.” Atsumu teased, finally easing up on you and taking a bit of the weight off of your back. You gasped dramatically as you could finally take a full, deep breath.
“Thank you, god. You’re heavy.” You said quietly, deciding to fully submit and just lay down on the living room floor.
“Did you just call me fat?!” Atsumu gasped, crawling over to your face to look you in the eyes.
“Yes.” You nodded. Atsumu immediately turned to Osamu, who burst out laughing at his offended expression.
“Laugh it up, ‘Samu. If I’m fat then so are you.” Atsumu muttered as he finally stood up to take a seat next to Osamu on the couch.
“I can’t stand either of you.” You mumbled, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at them.
“Why’s baby Miya throwing a temper tantrum?” A familiar, monotone voice was coming from the entry way. You hadn’t even heard him come in.
“None of your business, Suna.” You glared at the tall boy. He responded with a crooked smirk while he walked in with his hands plunged deep in his pockets.
Suna was over at your house almost every day. He also teased you as much as your brothers did, if not more.
“Jeez, what’s with the attitude?” He snorted, “You sound like Atsumu. I swear you’re triplets.”
Suna jumped over the back of the couch and plopped down between the twins. You sat up, looking at the three of them for a second before getting up and retreating to your room.
“Aw, come on baby Miya. Where are you going?” Suna called after you while you walked down the hallway.
“I need to get ready. I’m going out tonight.”
You retreated to your bedroom and sat down at your vanity. Before you could even pull out a hair brush, Osamu had burst into your bedroom.
“Where ya going?” He asked, leaning against the doorway.
“Out?” You replied, getting up to sift through your closet for something to wear.
Your friend had set you up on a blind date tonight. Your mom had held your brothers back a year and since you were only 10 months apart, you were all in the same year. This meant you all had the same classmates, knew all of the same people, and they were constantly in your business.
When your friend had told you about this guy, he sounded too good to be true. He had gone to another school that was a bit further away, but since you had all graduated a few months prior you figured a bit of distance wasn’t that big of a deal. After all, you were all adults now.
“Out where?” Atsumu asked, pushing the door open all the way and standing against the other side of the frame.
“On a date…” you muttered. The moment you said that, your brothers came in and promptly sat on your bed.
“Where are you going?”
“With who?”
“Where did you meet him?”
“How old is he?”
“Is he picking you up?”
“How long have you known him for?”
“Oh my god.” You groaned, pointing at your door. “Can you guys get out? I need to get ready. Why are you asking so many questions?”
“Believe it or not, kiddo, we just want to make sure you’re safe.” Osamu said, standing up and walking over to pat you on your head.
“Ugh, ‘Samu, you guys don’t have to treat me like a kid still. I’m an adult now, you know.” You said, crossing your arms.
“But you’ll always be our little sister.” Atsumu smiled. “Mom can’t keep track of all of us all the time. So we need to do it for her.” His words were genuine. Even though the three of you bickered and teased each other, you were protective of each other. You knew your brothers would do anything for you.
You’d never tell them, but you’d do anything for them, too.
“If anyone needs keeping track of, it’s you two.” You smirked. Atsumu rolled his eyes and Osamu shrugged you off.
Your brothers tried to pry more information out of you, but you only told them the bare minimum. After all, you barely even knew anything. You didn’t even know his name.
“So? Where’s she going?” Suna asked as the twins came back into the living room. He was sprawled out on the couch and flicking through the tv channels.
“That restaurant downtown. The one a few bus stops before your house.” Atsumu said with crossed arms. “She won’t let us drive her.”
“I’ll take the bus with her.” Suna shrugged, “It’s on the way, so I’ll make sure she gets there safely.”
“Good. Then you can tell us who she’s meetin’ there.” Osamu smirked.
Whether or not Osamu had asked, Suna was planning on finding that out regardless.
“Call is if you need anythin’!” Atsumu called to you as you walked to the door.
“We’ll come! Just call us, okay?” Osamu added.
“I’ll be fine, but thanks. I’ll text you when I’m on my way home.” You said loud enough for them to hear you in the other room. “Love you.”
“Love ya!” They replied in unison.
“Are you sure you’re not just spying on me?” You mumbled just loud enough for Suna to hear you from the seat behind you.
“Just decided to go home, baby Miya.” He replied, leaning forward. “Why? Do you want me to spy on you?”
“No!” You turned around and squinted your eyes at him. He looked back at you with a playful smirk and then went back to paying attention to his phone.
You got off the bus and hesitated for a moment, half expecting Suna to get off after you.
Except he didn’t.
You sighed, feeling the nerves creeping up and realizing you really were all alone now. Meeting a man you didn’t know, and unsure of what to expect.
You looked around and pulled out your phone to check the message from your friend again to refresh yourself on the characteristics of your blind date.
Dark hair, about 5’10, dark green eyes, ah-
“Miya, is it?” A man fitting the exact description was standing in front of you, a rose in hand and suspicious smirk across his lips.
“Yes, sorry, what’s your name?” Your voice was trembling and you had no idea why. You chalked it up to nerves, but it might’ve been the uneasiness you’d felt when you made eye contact with him.
“Daishou Suguru.” He said melodically. He handed you the rose and lightly pressed his hand to your lower back. “Shall we go inside? I have a table for us.”
You nodded, walking inside with him.
——
“So, Miya, any relation to those twins?” He asked, leaning in with his chin on his palm. He stared at you intently as if he wanted to soak in every word you were about to say.
“Oh, yeah. They’re my brothers.” You smiled. Even though they irritated you, you always liked to talk about them. You were proud of your brothers and all of their accomplishments, and talking about them was easier than having to come up with things to say about yourself.
“Ah,” Daishou nodded, thanking the server as she passed your dishes to the two of you. “Those two are real shit talkers, huh?”
“Yeah,” you laughed, a bit too casually for the occasion and realized you’d never even heard this guy’s name prior to tonight. “Wait, why do you say that?”
You were familiar with pretty much all of the volleyball players that your brothers had faced off against. Inarizaki’s own team were like family, but the other teams were around so often you’d gotten to know quite a few of the players from other schools just by going to the games and tournaments.
“Played against them once.” Daishou mumbled, the previously warm expression in his eyes was gone. “I don’t know which one I hate more. The mouthy setter or the spiker with the ego.”
You got goosebumps when he spoke these words. These weren’t normal rivalry grudges. This sounded like pure, unprecedented hatred.
You started to feel uncomfortable.
You hummed in acknowledgement. You weren’t sure how to reply, but you wanted him to know you’d heard him and were listening.
“So, how are you going to make it up to me?” Daishou asked. You froze, looking up at him.
His previously cold expression was warm again, cheeks round with a big smile. “I’m kidding.”
“Oh,” you giggled nervously and decided to focus on eating your dinner.
The rest of the evening went by okay. Little comments like that would have you unsure if there were ulterior motives, but when you’d try to look into it you’d see a happy smile from your date. Maybe he really was just joking, and was nervously trying to make you laugh.
When it was time to go, Daishou paid for the both of you and you left the restaurant together.
It was dark outside and pouring rain. You sighed, looking down the street at the empty bus stop. The bus wouldn’t be coming for another 20 minutes.
“Let me wait with you for the bus.” He smiled, wrapping an arm around your waist again. “I wouldn’t want you out here all alone.”
You reluctantly accepted but tried to keep your distance. While his arm was around you, your arms were crossed and you were trying to stay as far from him as possible. Something was off, and you wanted to get as far away from him as quickly as possible.
You sent your brothers a quick text to let them know which bus you’d be on.
“Let’s wait over here. Out of the rain.”
Before you could reply, he grabbed your hand and yanked you down a small alley. It was covered by the overhead of the buildings roof, but was pitch black.
“I had a nice time tonight.” Daishou purred, pressing his body against you and trapping you against the cold brick wall.
“Yeah, me too…” You said quietly.
Only a few more minutes.
Daishou leaned down, trailing his hand up your chest and wrapping his long fingers around your throat. Your breath hitched and you felt tears well up in your eyes. You knew something was wrong. You knew something was going to happen. Your gut feeling was never wrong.
You tensed up, preparing to punch him the moment you felt pressure from his fingers. Instead of choking you, however, his hand rested gingerly on your skin and he leaned down to kiss you.
You kissed back, completely uninterested but not wanting him to know that.
“So, you are easy.” He smirked against your lips. He grabbed your hands and held them against the wall. His tongue started to force its way into your mouth and as you tried to break away, his body pressed into you harder, making you unable to move.
“Please stop,” you whimpered, “I don’t- I don’t want this.”
“Just relax.” He dug his fingers into your wrist, holding both of your hands together with just one of his, and using his free hand to move down your body and fondle your chest.
“Daishou- I-“ you gasped when he bit down on your neck. It didn’t feel good at all, and was just a swearing pain.
“You know, it really is a shame that you’re related to those two.” He muttered against your skin. “You’re a pretty girl. Probably would’ve liked you had your shitty brothers not have been such dicks.”
“Please, please just get off-“ You sniffled. You fought your brothers all the time, so why couldn’t you get him off? Why were you tensing up? Why were you crying? Just push him off, just push and run.
“Shut up.” He muttered. He slipped his hand into your pants and you let out a sob.
“No, no! Get off of me! Stop!” You were crying now, your voice getting louder as you attempted to break from his hold.
Unfortunately, he was just too strong for you. He smacked you across the face and pressed his palm to your mouth.
“I told you to shut up.” He growled. “Blame the twins for this.”
You were sobbing now. Completely terrified as this man assaulted your body in this dark alley and all you could think about was how badly you wanted to get out of there. How badly you wished your brothers had spied on you, how much you wanted them to protect you in that moment.
Daishou glared at you as your wails got louder, pulling back and slapping you across the face so hard you thought you were seeing stars.
“That’s what happens when stupid girls like you don’t listen. Now be quiet!”
Your vision was blurred and dark and you thought you were about to pass out when you felt the weight of his body completely lifted off of you.
You immediately felt relief, not in the form of safety by any means but you felt like you could somewhat breathe again. The blow he’d given you to the head had you feeling dizzy and you sunk to the ground against the wall.
“You fucking-“ *whack*
“piece-“ *whack*
“of shit!” *whack*
You squinted your eyes open at the familiar voice. The same voice that had annoyed you earlier that afternoon. The voice that immediately gave you a sense of safety in that dark alley.
“Suna..?” You barely managed to squeak out. You were sure he didn’t hear you considering you could barely hear your own voice.
“You’re going to regret this for the rest of your life.” Suna spat, landing another punch directly to his face. “If you have issues with someone, take it up with them like a fucking man.” He growled. “Instead of preying on their little sister. You’re pathetic.”
Suna stood up off the ground and all you could do was watch through squinted eyes and your knees pulled to your chest.
He pulled something out of his pocket, it shined under the street lamps and you weren’t sure what it was. He grabbed Daishou by the collar of his shirt, forcing him to stand up before pressing the object against his throat.
“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t just kill you right here.”
You closed your eyes, covering your face in your arms when you heard Daishou start to sob. He sounded like you did a few minutes ago.
“I’d go to jail for her, no questions asked. Trust me when I tell you that I won’t hesitate.”
Suna was much bigger than him. Stronger. Taller.
“Hey,” Suna growled, pushing him against the brick wall. Daishou looked as light as a rag doll when Suna was throwing him around. “Answer me when I’m talking to you.”
“Please- I don’t- I’m sorry-“ Daishou choked out.
Suna laughed. A completely genuine laugh that made your skin crawl.
“Are you? Are you sorry?”
You looked back up at the two men, closer to you now and you could see that the object Suna had against his throat was a knife.
“Suna, wait-“ You tried to say to him, but your voice was still shaky and quiet.
Daishou was sobbing now, tears flowing from his eyes and wails ripping from his throat.
“Not so tough when you’re the one on the receiving end, huh?” Suna glared, putting his knife back in his pocket and throwing Daishou back onto the ground.
“Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind.” Suna said in a dark, low tone you hadn’t heard from him before. “And if you ever come near her again, I really will kill you.”
Daishou scrambled to his feet, holding his head and trying to stop the bleeding on his face that was surely from one of the rings Suna was wearing on his fingers.
You trembled against the wall, staring at Suna’s back as he watched Daishou leave. As soon as he was out of eyesight, he quickly turned to you and crouched down.
“Hey, it’s okay.” His voice softened, his gaze was kind and he hesitated before touching you. “Can I help you up? Can you stand?”
You nodded weakly and he crouched down, putting his arms under yours and standing you up. You could feel your legs wobbling and held onto his arm for support.
“Ugh,” He sighed, the pain in his voice coming through when he saw the true damage that’d been done to you. His hands carefully put you back together as best he could. He buttoned your shirt and pants back up, and shrugged off his jacket to put it on you instead.
You grabbed onto the sleeves and pulled them over your hands. It was even bigger than your brothers’ jackets, and you sunk into the soft material trying to grasp onto any little piece of comfort you could get.
Suna picked you up and held you against his chest. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he supported you from under your legs.
“How did you know where to find me?” You asked, your voice still quiet and strained.
“They told me what bus you were taking home so I came to make sure you got on okay. When it came and left without you I got worried and looked around, and then I heard you crying.” Suna let out a stressed out breath, “You know, I really would’ve done it.”
“I’m glad you didn’t.” You said, closing your eyes. You couldn’t even process what had just happened and didn’t know what you would’ve done if Suna wasn’t with you right now.
——
Suna’s house was only down the road, and you agreed to go there and get cleaned up before heading back home.
“Here,” Suna handed you a pair of comfortable pants and a t-shirt. “They’ll be way too long on you, but it’s better than your soaking wet clothes you’re wearing now.”
“Thanks…” you accepted the offer, stepping into the bathroom to change.
When you came out, Suna had changed too, but his eyes widened with shock when he saw the extent of your injuries.
He swore under his breath and approached you. When he reached out and touched your neck, his cool hand soothed the sting of the deep bite Daishou had embedded in your neck.
“Can’t believe he fucking bit you.” Suna’s voice was so quiet he was practically whispering, and you weren’t sure if he was talking to you or just thinking out loud. He trailed his hand around your throat and pressed his fingers on the deep bruises forming from when you’d been choked.
“That helps,” you sighed, leaning into his touch. Suna pulled his hand back as if he wasn’t even aware he’d been touching you.
“What do you want to do now? Should we call Osamu and Atsumu? Want me to take you home?” He placed his hands on your shoulders and continued looking you over. Suna brushed your hair out of the way, inspecting your face closely and grunting when he looked straight on at the black eye starting to appear.
You winced when his thumb grazed over the side of your head and he immediately pulled back.
“You were hit really hard. You should go to the hospital.”
You shook your head. “I don’t… I don’t want to go anywhere. Not right now, anyway.” You stepped over to his bed, sitting on the edge. “Can I just lie down?”
Suna nodded and pulled the blankets open, gesturing for you to crawl into his bed. He pulled the blankets on top of you and patted your arm.
“I’m just going to go into the kitchen to get a glass of water. I’ll shut the light off so you can rest a bit.”
The moment you couldn’t feel his presence in the room anymore, your mind travelled back to where you were earlier that night. Being attacked in a dark alley and suddenly you were feeling suffocated.
You sat up, gasping for air and Suna ran in, turning the light on and sitting next to you.
“Its okay, it’s okay,” He murmured, wrapping his arm around you and pulling you into him. He stroked your hair and let you cry out your fear as long as you needed to.
“I don’t…” You sniffled, “I don’t know what happened. When you left I just felt so scared all over again.”
“I’m sorry.” He said quietly, pressing his cheek against the top of your hair.
“Please don’t leave me alone.”
Suna nodded and stood up to go turn the light off again.
“Wait, where are you going?” You felt the panic start to take over again when the bed dipped down beside you.
“I’m right here.” His voice was kind. The Suna you’d known to always tease and annoy you had been replaced by something you could only describe as being your safety net.
Maybe this side of him was always here, and you just hadn’t ever noticed.
You laid back down beside him, moving close and nuzzling into his chest just like you had when he was carrying you. He wrapped his arms around you and softly trailed his hand up and down your back.
“I’ve got you, okay?” He whispered, “You’re safe with me. I promise. Just try and get some rest and we can worry about everything in the morning. You’ve been through enough tonight.”
You nodded and felt the relief wash over you. You knew you had a lot to deal with tomorrow, but having Suna by your side made it seem a little less scary.
Thinking back, he always was by your side. He would defend you when the twins would get too rough, and was definitely guilty of giving guys an intimidating glare when they’d try to hit on you.
You sighed, soaking in the feeling of his warmth.
You knew that from them on, you wanted nothing more than to be on his side.
And for him to stay on yours.

↷ SUMMARY ↶
A new special move!
The third day of summer training camp and the temperature was still rising. Under the cool shade of the tree upon the hill, you, Shimizu, and Yachi were preparing cool electrolyte drinks for the team. Usually, you three done it in the gym but experiencing how hot the weather was, you three decided brought the bottles uphill so the team could drink immediately in order to avoid dehydration.
“That’s a different type of brand you use, [Name]-chan.” Shimizu commented, seeing a different colored package of electrolyte drink in your hand.
“Oh, Kageyama-kun usually used this particular brand,” you replied, pouring the powder into the bottle and turn the lid close, then you shook the bottle so it would mix thoroughly. Your upperclassman hummed in understanding from your answer.
While it was the third day of training, it’s also marked the three weeks of Kageyama and Hinata not talking to each other even though it didn’t hinder their practice. It worried you a bit, but you knew the two of them would talk eventually.
“Great work,” you said, offering the bottle to Kageyama when he and the rest of the boys arrived uphill. He rasped out a thank you before immediately downing the drink.
“Hinata-kun, this is yours!”
“Thank you!”
You purposely be the one to delivered the bottle straight to the person–Hinata was keeping a quite distance from Kageyama and you didn’t want to force the orange-haired boy to get closer with the raven-haired setter.
“Wuaah, it’s nice and cool,” Hinata sighed in content, placing the bottle upon his cheek–enjoying the coolness radiating from it. After satisfied in cooling down his face, he soon downed the drink. Now that you think, you rarely talk to Hinata these days with him busy with his practice.
“[Name]-san, is your arm okay?” ah, he must be referring to the long cut on your arm.
“It’s already a month, Hinata-kun, it’s healed but it does leave a scar,” you lifted your arm, showing a faint lighter line present on your skin where your wound previously at.
“Oh, sorry,” frowns don’t suit Hinata at all–he’s a bright ball of beaming energy, a warm figure who could lit your day in an instant. It’s his nature, and seeing him becoming dejected from the start of the day was worrying.
“It’s fine, Hinata-kun, it’s not your fault anyway. It was an accident,” you dismissed his apology. “And if you need anything, just call out for me, okay? I’ll do my best to help you.”
You didn’t know what force that made you say those words, but you know you couldn’t take it back–you didn’t intend too anyway. Hinata always worked hard by himself, so you want to support him as much as possible. The orange haired boy looked taken a back before a giving you that infamous wide, sunny grin.
“Okay! And call me Shoyo, then! I call you by your first name so it’s fair if you call me like that too!”
“Alright, then, Shoyo-kun.”
.
.
The temperature was still rising–the burning hot atmosphere exhausted your boys even further than before. It would get rough, both for their body and mind eventually. You could feel your skin prickling–the tension was rising faster than before, tiredness building up, and sooner or later it would get to them.
“Damn it!” you gripped on your hand a little tighter after hearing Hinata’s scream of frustration. He failed to get the ball over the net because he lost in terms of strength with Lev. For the past three days, he couldn’t hit any ball comfortably, and with the battle of height always looming over him he had nothing to fight it with.
The match continued–Nishinoya tossed the ball perfectly, and then Kageyama went up to made a toss. Hinata, noticing there was a chance for a quick immediately jumped. Even though the ball barely being hit, it still got over the net and fell on the opposite court.
“You held back, didn’t you!?” his upperclassmen’s praises went over his head as Hinata yelled in anger at Kageyama.
“Held back?” the raven-haired setter also didn’t like the approach, glaring back menacingly. “Me? With volleyball?”
Thankfully before a fight could break, Takeda-sensei already asked for a time-out–with that, at least the two could cool down for a bit and not causing ruckus on the court in the middle of a match.
“That wasn’t the falling toss!” Hinata’s next words, caught you off guard. He noticed something’s different with the toss? It looked the same to you.
“It wasn’t?” Takeda-sensei questioned.
“I mean, looking back, it technically may not have been.” Coach Ukai answered, a thumb under his chin. “I think what just happened is that the toss right now wasn’t like the falling tosses he’s been getting, but more of a parabola.”
It clicked in your mind–the abrupt change suddenly made sense. “Does that mean Kageyama-kun is trying to get Shoyo-kun to hit the ball no matter what?”
“It’s on purpose?” Yachi turned to look at you.
“But what for?” Shimizu’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“Hinata hasn’t hit a spike comfortably for a while now,” Coach Ukai was the one who answered to their question. “That’s pretty stressful for a spiker. Kageyama might have subconsciously been worried that Hinata’s might not play as well because of that.”
You frowned in worry, seeing how Hinata still rooted on his spot despite Tanaka’s attempt to dragged him off the court. And it also worried you that Kageyama was looking utterly dejected–maybe he realized for a moment that he pulled his punches. Thankfully it was only a moment–everything was resolved rather quickly and practice resumed.
.
.
After practice at night, you found yourself helping Bokuto, Kuroo, and Akaashi in the third gym. The owl captain immediately dragged you away as soon as the last practice was over (you swore you could hear Tanaka and Nishinoya’s screams of fury), so here you were, throwing balls to Akaashi so he could toss it to Bokuto. Surprisingly, Tsukishima was present as well–now, he’s learning to block with Kuroo’s guidance.
“Oh? Tsukki, [Name]-chan, did you bring a friend today?” Bokuto suddenly asked, which confused the two of you.
“Pardon?” Tsukishima questioned.
When you threw a look over your shoulder, you immediately took a notice of an extremely familiar figure with orange hair by the door. Calling out, you gave him a smile. “Shoyo-kun!”
“[N-Name]-san!”
“What happened to your partner?” Tsukishima asked.
“Kageyama’s practicing on his own again,” Hinata answered. “I was trying to get Kenma to throw me tosses, but he ran away after the fifth one.”
“It’s amazing that you got Kenma to even give you five during practice,” Kuroo remarked.
“So, please let me practice with you!” another surprised for you because Lev showed up and asking the same thing.
“Lev!”
“Oh, Hinata,” the silver-haired boy then noticed you and immediately waved his hands enthusiastically. “Otohaku-chan!! You’re here too!!”
“Lev, quit flirting with the manager and I thought you were practicing receives with Yaku.” Kuroo said and of course, the mention of Nekoma’s libero, Lev stiffened.
“He said I was doing well today, so he let me go!”
From the looks of it, it was no doubt he ran away while Yaku was having a bathroom break or something else that required him for leaving the gym. But Kuroo, being the lenient and laid-back captain he is, dismissed it.
“Well, whatever,” he sighed. “Then, we have the right number of people, so let’s play three-on-three. [Name], you’re in charge of the score.”
Nodding in understanding, you pushed the score board closer and changed the names above–cats and owl, it reminded you of the two captain’s characteristics. You were fine in looking over the match, but this match was quite ridiculous. Thankfully, you’re not the only to think so.
“Um, isn’t this just a bit unbalanced?” Akaashi questioned. He was in the same team with Bokuto and Hinata, whereas the opposite team was clearly having more advantage in height–Kuroo, Lev, and Tsukishima are all above 185cm. Still with the disadvantage he got, Hinata was excited for sure.
The match was interesting to watch–even with the lack of extra height for Hinata’s team, they were still on par with Tsukishima’s team. But soon it was stopped by Yukie and Kaori’s appearance.
“If you don’t wrap soon, the cafeteria will close and you won’t get any dinner.” Yukie informed. “Oh? [Name]-chan, you’re here too? That explains why you don’t show up for dinner.”
Frustration was clear to Hinata because he clearly enjoyed the match and he didn’t want it to end, however, with Kuroo’s reassurance that they would continue this tomorrow, he was back bouncing on his feet. You couldn’t help but smile at the captain’s attentiveness.
“Thank you for cheering Shoyo-kun up,” you said, as the seven of you walked towards the cafeteria. Yukie and Kaori said they had to handle other things first so they couldn’t accompany you (it was hard for them to let you go with the boys). “Today’s not a good day for him so this match definitely cheers him up.”
“It’s nothing, and we probably have to apologize to you too,” Kuroo remarked. “Bokuto’s dragging you here, you stuck with us, and missed dinner. Bokuto, you have an apology to make!”
“That’s right, Bokuto-san, you made Otohaku-san missed dinner.” Akaashi piped up. “Tomorrow she has to wake up early to prepare breakfast, too.”
As if struck by lightning, Bokuto froze and turned stiffly to look at you before he went on a full apology-mode–as far as dropping on his knees, taking your hands in his, and begging for apology. You laughed nervously, but you knew he was sincere with it.
“I’m sorry, [Name]-chan!! I’ll make it up to you!! Do I need to replace you handling breakfast tomorrow!?”
“N-no, it’s alright, I will be fine and you don’t have to apologize, Bokuto-san. I don’t mind helping you practice.”
“Bokuto-san, you’re making Otohaku-san uncomfortable.”
“Have my back for once, Akaashi!!”
.
.
Now that you think of it, your after-practice time was automatically reserved for the third gym. Bokuto would bound towards you, asking for your help as soon as you’re done with your managerial duties. With your nod, he then reached out for your hand and pulled you to ran towards the third gym.
Akaashi already informed you to just dismissed his captain, but you found yourself couldn’t possibly rejected Bokuto’s invitation–especially when his eyes practically shining, you didn’t have a heart to ruin it. That goes for Daichi also, he even offered to talk to Bokuto about it if it bothers you. You were grateful for the two’s offer, still if you could help, you want to be helpful as possible.
It’s probably the third time you helped them practice by throwing balls and keeping an eye on the score board. Well you did your usual managerial duties as well–refilling the water bottles, giving them towels, sometimes wiping the floor when it became too slippery. Kuroo mentioned that you didn’t have to do it since your work hour was over and him, Bokuto, Akaashi, and Lev weren’t from your team.
Again, you dismissed it–it’s not a heavy duty, anyway. In between water break, Tsukishima asked about why on earth Kuroo wanted to help them when they would end up being rival in the end.
The captain cleared his throat. “I want to make the Battle at the Garbage Dump a reality. It’s what our coach wants more than anything. But who knows how much longer our coach is going to continue coaching? So, because of that, we need you guys to keep winning too.”
Overall, you understood Kuroo’s reason, but there was something that piqued your curiosity.
“Uhm, I know this question might sound strange, but, what is Battle at the Garbage Dump?” you asked.
“Oh, that’s right, we haven’t explained anything to Yachi-san and [Name]-san!” Hinata said.
“To put it simple, it’s like destined match between Karasuno and Nekoma.” Tsukishima explained. “It’s been going since the previous Coach Ukai’s time.”
“Karasuno and Nekoma will climb up until they could go to nationals and then will meet up on the orange court.” Kuroo grinned, reaching up to ruffle your hair lightly.
“That’s… so cool,” you muttered. You couldn’t find the exact words to express the awe you’re feeling. A match in the orange court between destined rivals, it’s almost like straight up from a manga or a movie. Other teams could research but playing against a team that knows you really well is going to be an absolute thrill–probably the best match Karasuno could get.
“Right, right!?” Hinata went up to you and asked excitedly.
“Come on. Let’s get back to practice!” Kuroo informed and all of you immediately went to your assigned place.
Practice went on–still between the Owl and Cat group. When Bokuto had to score against someone tall like Lev and Tsukishima, he didn’t kill the ball instead he hit it purposely against the block–returning it to the team for a more proper toss. Knowing how Hinata was hungry for development, surely he wouldn’t miss this.
After Bokuto managed to kill the ball with an intense straight towards the back line, he instantly approached him to ask about it. Soon, the game continued. This time, it was Lev who went for the score but managed to be soft-blocked by Akaashi. The last ball went to Hinata and you witnessed an absolutely underhanded way of blocking.
“Ah! Hey!” Bokuto screeched, also feeling the unfairness. “You guys are playing dirty!”
Hinata had to face three blockers above 185 cm with not a good toss.
“Nowhere to aim,” you muttered, narrowing your eyes in slight annoyance.
However, Hinata intended to face them–he hit the ball to Lev’s fingertips and it flew over before dropping to the inner-side of the opposite court. He jumped high enough and landed on his back instead.
“Shoyo-kun, you’re amazing!” running and kneeling beside him, you praised. Technically, you’re supposed to check on him but it flew over your mind for a second. “It’s an amazing block-out!”
“Did…you actually aim for that?” Kuroo questioned in disbelief. “That was an amazing wipe!”
“Well, I did aim for Lev’s fingertips.”
“What!?” Lev took a full offense in this.
Still, Bokuto was impressed by the lack of fear the younger had. The owl captain was showering him with praises as the rest of you watched from the sidelines. It went well until Bokuto proposed a ‘special move’–which made almost everyone dropped their beliefs, Hinata seemed to be excited by it though.

Go Go Karasuno: An Old Rival (Pt 1)
THIS FIC IS 18+
Warnings: swearing, light teasing
Word Counts: 7,000+
Flasback
"Keishin you asshole" you shout for the end of the court. God how you despised Ukai Keishin! The man was the bane of your existence at Karasuno High. He was always one upping you. Always one step ahead. He always got the praise while you remained in his shadow.
"Calm down Y/N! I'm just teasing you. I promise I'll be quiet during your serve this time" Keishin says as he smirks at you through the net.
"You say that every time asshole, yet we continue to have this discussion" you say with a huff.
 You are annoyed and honestly just fed with with him. You didn't even want this practice match but of course, a lot of the girls had crushes on the boys team so you felt like you had to join. Even thought you couldn't stand Keishin’s big ego clogging up your breathing room.
"Just serve Y/N. Ignore him" one of your teammates shout.
 You take a deep breath, tossing the ball up to serve.
Serving required the utmost concentration for you. You didn't know how people could effortlessly serve with background noise and people cheering. You hated that. You're teammates knew it and so did your coaches. Most of the time you didn't have to worry about noise, but when you were playing the boys team, you knew you always had to worry about something.
"Just do it already" you hear a voice shout as your hand smacks the ball in front of you causing it to barrel towards the net.
"Aye net ball" Keishin yelled from the other side of the court as he snickered at you.
"I'm seriously gonna kick your-" you start to say as your teammates gather ground to stop you from commit a felony.
"Alright that's enough" Coach yells from the sidelines "lets wrap it up."
You sigh as the boys high five each other, celebrating their victory. You line up with your team as you prepare to thank the boys team and shake hands.
You approach the net, extending your hand to Keishin while looking down.
 "Better luck next time Y/N. But hey I can see the improvement. Just try getting it over the net next time" he smiles shaking you hand as you continue to stare at the floor.
Anger. You are so mad that he beat you again.
You sulk to the sidelines as you begin to dry off with a towel and drink your water.
"Will I ever be as good as him?"
Flashback ends
8 years.
8 whole years have passed since you last seen Keishin or any of the Karasuno Alumni. Now you find yourself standing at the gates wondering how fate brought you here.
It wasn't like your memories of High School were awful. You got good grades, played volleyball. You were even the captain of the girls team your 3rd year. For all intensive purposes, you loved High school.
 You just hated Ukai Keishin with a passion. Sure you realized your teenage hatred of the man was petty. Of course it was. It was almost 10 years ago but yet you couldn't forget the man. There was just something that irked you to no end about him and you were glad your past 8 years had been Keishin-free.
After high school, you traveled to Toyko for school. After graduating you worked in Tokyo in a corporate office. You loved the job a lot. The city life was right up your alley. The people, the shopping, the nightlife. Everything. Not that you necessarily partook in those activities but you enjoyed the options. You had friends, your whole life was in Tokyo.
It's not like you wanted to be back in Miyagi. It wasn't by choice you were here.
 You're parents had left after you graduated high school, following you to the cities. Unfortunately, when your grandfather got sick, you were the only one who could help.
Your parents both had prior commitments with work and you didn't have family in the area. You're job allowed you to work remotely. It was both a blessing and a curse. You were only going to be in town for a few weeks. Just to get your grandfather and grandmother settled in a senior living center.
 Your parents had offered them to move in with them in Toyko but your grandfather would have none of it. He was as stubborn as they come. He hated the idea of "the big city". Your grandmother didn't really mind anyway but she wasn't going to leave your grandfather as long as he was living so you just gave up.
So how does that bring you back to Karasuno you ask?
Well a few of your fellow alumni had found out you were back in town. I'm talking Takinoue Yūsuke and Shimada Makoto, both former classmates as well as former volleyball players. You knew they were friends with Keishin but you never minded them. They were always nice to you and treated you kindly. Sure they joked around with you but they never pressed you like Keishin did. So imagine your surprise when you showed up to Shimada Mart with your grandma in toe only to find Makoto stocking shelves.
To say you were shocked wouldn't be entirely accurate, I mean his name is on the store. You just figured he had moved on. When he invited you for drinks with Yusuke, you accepted.
 Not once did the conversation turn to Keishin which you appreciated. The men knew of your rivalry well. It almost seemed like neither of you had moved on from one another.
They had talked about the boys team and how amazing they were. You still enjoyed volleyball talk and even played on a small team in Toyko on the occasional weekends. They told you about their neighborhood association and how they were playing a match with the boys of Karasuno. They mentioned needing a setter to which you immediately perked up. You didn't ask questions, not even thinking about why they needed a setter.
You figured since the conversation avoided Keishin that he was no longer in the area. You knew of his families store but also knew that he probably didn't live around here. You offered your services as a setter for a practice game. The men looked at one another, nodding in agreement. You figured what could be the harm. You got to play volleyball and kick some kids asses.
It would be a lot of fun.
Keishin finished up his shift at his family store leaving it to his mother to tend while he attended practice. He hadn't thought much high-school since he graduated honestly. He was happy in his life.
He had good friends, a solid family support system and of course, he was the head coach of the Karasuno boys volleyball team. He walked to practice as he's thoughts drifted. They often did. He'd light a cigarette, think about things and by the time he finished, he was at the gates to Karasuno. He had scheduled a practice match tonight. He knew the neighborhood association lacked members but the Karasuno boys were always willing to fill in.
For some ungodly reason, his thoughts drifted to you. He hadn't thought about you in years.
That was a lie. A complete lie.
He actually thought about you often and how he was a complete and utter jerk in high school. He would never admit he had a crush on you back then but he did enjoy your little rivalry the two of you had. He always thought you were a great setter but he always strived to be better. It was just how he was. He knew his little crush would never amount to anything. You were way smarter and way more attractive. You had life goals and he strived to stay on the volleyball team. He hadn't dreamt of leaving Miyagi. He knew he wasn't college bound. He knew he'd always be here but you, you always dreamed of more and he admired that.
He thought you were probably some rich lady by now with a husband and a family. He laughed because he imagined your husband staying home while you worked because that's just how you were. You were strong and independent. You never settled.
Keishin entered the gym where the Karasuno boys were practicing.
"The neighborhood association will be here in 10 minutes" he yelled.
"Yes coach" the boys yelled in return as they continued to warm up for their practice game.
"Suga I'm going to need you to set for the association again tonight" he said. Sugawara Koushi nodded as he went back to warming up with the spikers. Takada Ittetsu, Karasuno’s faculty advisor and other coach, soon came bounding into the gym as he often did. He was always racing around it seemed like.
 He had meetings, papers to grade and other things teachers worried about. Keishin laughed at how different him and Takeda were yet they made a great coaching team.
"Alright guys the show is here" a voice shouted from the doors as they were thrown open.
Keishin sighed, placing his head in his hand.
"Takinoue you talk to much" Shimada rolled his eyes as he smacked Takinoue on the shoulder walking over to Keishin.
"I've got Suga warming up for you guys" Keishin said to Makoto.
"Ahh no need tonight man, we've got a setter" Shimada said as he rested his hand on Keishin’s shoulder.
"Huh?" Keishin questions and the doors flew open. His eyes and the eyes of the rest of the teams eyes flew to the door.
Keishin froze
"Damn I see they still haven't fixed these God forsaken doors. It's been like 10 years damn" you said as you switched from your street shoes.
Everyone was staring at you.
"Hello everyone" you smile as you wave, still not noticing the long blonde hair coach on the sidelines staring holes in your head.
The boys bowed to you as you smiled.
 You turned your body to walk to Shimada as you begin to speak "you should have told me-" you stop making direct eye contract with Keishin, your mouth dropping open.
"Keishin?" You say shockingly
"Y/N?" Keishin said equally as shocked.
"Oh whoops" Takinoue looks at you laughing awkwardly "I guess we forgot to mention the little detail that Keishin is the Karasuno teams coach ha ha"
Shimada's eyes went wide as he waited for you to speak.
"Yes you forgot to mention that LITTLE detail" you speak sharply as you whip your head to both Shimada and Takinoue.
Keishin is still frozen.
You're here? Why? How? And your setting for the Neighborhood association? Oh dear God!
"Long time no see Keishin" you speak directly as you look at him.
He thought you were beautiful then but now you looked spectacular! His brain and heart were thinking and beating at 1000 miles per hour yet no words were formed from his mouth.
Gosh this was awkward.
Shimada and Tokinoue watched in wonder.
 Everyone did.
 The Karasuno team could sense the tension between you two.
"What's with coach I've never seen him this quiet" Tanaka Ryunosuke whispers to Nishinoya Yu.
"No clue but it's making me nervous" Noya said in response.
You wanted for Keishin to speak only to be met with silence
"Well ok then" you clap your hands together "I'm here to set so let's get this show on the road."
You walk towards the practice jerseys as you slip one on. Everyone seems stunned but nobody says anything. You look back at everyone as they awkwardly go back to their tasks.
Takinoue walks up to you as you start stretching. You glare at him.
"This is all your fault" you say sharply as he puts on a practice jersey.
"Don’t expect any sets today" you growl as you walk to the sidelines talking with your new team for the evening.
The boys welcome you with open arms. Ennoshita Chikara, one of Karasuno's wing spikers greats you with a bow.
"Umm miss would you mind if we practice a few sets before the game starts?" He asks pleasantly.
"Oh please call me Y/N! And of course! I'm a new setter to you so I totally understand wanting to get comfortable" you smile as you walk towards the net.
Keishin is still staring. You're sure his eyes dried out by now from not blinking.
Ennoshita describes his ideal setup to you as you are mental notes. You remember a teammate who had a similar style so you try to adjust what you can.
 Ennoshita throws a ball to you as you set perfectly for a kill.
"Nice kill" you say with a smile. Ennoshita blushes.
"That was a great set Y/N! I don’t think I've hit a ball that confidently in a long time" he says with a smile as he rubs the back of his head.
"Well thank you but I'm a bit rusty. The ball drifted a bit too much towards the net for my liking. I'll adjust" you say with a smile as the next teammate tosses to you.
“She hasn't changed a bit” Keishin thinks to himself.
He always thought you were too hard on yourself in high school. He admired you but you were always trying to do more. He knew you didn't really like him but he didn't actually know the reason. He just thought you found him to be annoying.
Keishin snaps out of his thoughts as he blows the whistle. Everyone lines up, thanking each other for the game as they proceed to their spots.
The game goes on for a while. You see Kageyama Tobio and Hinata Shoyo’s quick and your eyes sparkle. You knew that move had to be a shocker to almost anyone playing against them. You learned to never underestimate a player. You knew the smallest players were out the most dangerous. But you had to admit that even the quickness and trust the duo displayed was phenomenal.
During a break, Kageyama asked if you'd observe his technique. You felt honored as you knew the boy was a prodigy. He was a quick thinker on the court and adapted well. You could also tell he was a lot like you were. He was hard on himself and always strived to do better. You observed the infamous "falling toss" that just stopped mid air. It was amazing to see. You'd never even dream of being able to pull something off like that.
Honestly it seemed like a “Keishin” move to you. You laughed as you thought about all the times you rolled your eyes at his ridiculous sets. He was always trying to outrun the blockers. Always trying to open the paths for his spikers.
"That tosses was phenomenal boys" you smile as you applaud their efforts. They both bow as they disperse and continue their training.
Your eyes met Keishins again.
Honestly we're you really going to ignore him this whole time?
“It's been almost 10 years Y/N he's probably matured” you think to yourself as you gather the courage to approach the coach. Then again this was Ukai Keishin we were talking about. The asshole who constantly made it a mission to get under your nerves in high school.
When the second practice match started, you were you to serve. Keishin smiled to himself thinking about the cute look you got on your face as you prepared to serve. It made his hard warm. You didn't fail to notice his smile but you're thoughts automatically drifted back to high school. You hated that smile so much.
You prepared to serve as suddenly you heard someone clear their throat. You missed the serve completely, hitting a net ball. Keishin snickered to himself.
“Man you really hadn't changed all that much” he thought as he was thinking about how much you hated missing serves.
Your neck snaps to him as you glare "I know you did that on purpose" you spit at him.
Keishin just smiles "Y/N you really think I'm out here to mess your serves up?"
You definitely hadn't changed.
You huffed as you glared at Keishin as he smirked.
Shimada and Takinoue looked at each other. Part of them was hoping they would see you chuck a ball at Keishin while a part of them wondered how you two had managed to ignore your feelings for each other for so long.
The game ended as the boys cleaned the gym and thanked you for the game.
Keishin watched as you took off the practice jersey. Your shirt lifting, exposing your tummy bit to reveal your smooth skin. It was now or never .
"Umm hey Y/N, thanks for helping out" he says as he approaches you
You continue to wipe the sweat from your forehead as you take a drink of water. "No problem. It's a great team you have here" you say while avoiding eye contact.
Keishin wished you'd just look at him. You really didn't still hate him did you?
"Well I’m off" you say as you wave and smile to the team and the association. You quickly move to the gym doors, replacing your shoes and walking away.
"You sure blew that one" Shimada snickers behind Keishin.
"She really had no clue I was the coach?" Keishin looks at Shimada.
"Not one clue" he says in return "besides this provided so much entertainment." He throws his head back laughing as he walking towards the gym doors.
“Wyou blew this one Keishin” he thinks to himself as he sighs taking a seat in a folding chair.
He really did blow this one.

Part Eight: Hope
Atsumu x fem reader , Suna x fem Reader, Hinata x Fem reader
A/N: I’m so sorry it took so long to put out this chapter I’m gunna try to do better on posting faster. I’ve had a lot of stuff happening irl. I love see so many of your write in for the poll 😂 I did not expect Sakusa to pop off! I hope y’all like this chapter. Again it’s still kind of short but I wanted to get it posted. Also you can’t convince me Hinata doesn’t use an all in one cleanser!
Warning: crude language, not much angst, some fluff.
Part Seven: Regrets
Tumblr media
Hinata stared at his phone questioning whether he should message you again. It had been four days since you ran out of his apartment. You had yet to respond to any of his texts. As concerned as he is he knows no good will come from spamming you. Although he wants nothing more than for you too talk to him. He was so confused where you both stood. But he was sure of one thing, and that was that things couldn’t go back to the way they were before. He can’t go back to pushing down his feelings and pretending he doesn’t want to be more. That he didn’t want to call you his and show you off to the world. To take you out on dates try new experiences and make memories with you. He can’t keep acting like he doesn’t dream of waking up to you in his arms every morning. He wants to be there with you every step in life and support you no matter what. He wants to show you that you are the most amazing woman he’s ever known. As much as the sex is amazing it’s not worth holding back anymore. He knows you may still not be ready for a relationship and he wouldn’t think about pressuring you into one after how horribly your last ended, he’d gladly wait for you to be ready but he has to be honest with his feelings instead of torturing himself.
The sound of his alarm snapped him out of his daze. Time to get ready for practice, he groaned pulling himself from the comfort of his bed before heading to the shower to start his day. He shuffled in the bathroom hooking up his phone to his Bluetooth speaker starting up with morning playlist beginning his morning routine. He loved jamming in the shower. He turned the water on letting the heat build as he brushed his teeth before climbing into the steaming shower bopping his head to the beat of silhouette by Kana-boon having to refrain himself from attempting to naruto running in the slippery bath. He stood there for a moment enjoying the heat hitting his back and loosening his muscles. Losing himself in the music as he grabbed his three in one, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. He scrubbed his hair and body screaming the lyrics to the next song. “Sawaras nai kimi wa shojo wa na no Boku wa yarichinbitchi no osu da yo !!,” he was jamming out when the song was interrupted by the sound of a notification. He thought nothing of it figuring it was just Bokuto-San. When the chimes continue his curiosity won out as he peeked out passed the curtain still covered in bubbles to see who was spamming his phone. His eyes grew wide as he saw your name lighting up his notifications. He rushed for his phone loosing his balance and slamming the shower wall to keep himself from falling on his ass as he scrambled out still dripping and soapy as he stood in bathroom unlocking his phone.
YN-Chan 🧡: Hey Shoyo
YN-Chan🧡: you’re usually up by now so I thought I’d message you to say I’m soo soo sorry for how I ran out the other day.
YN-Chan🧡: honestly I should have messaged you days ago but I’ve just been dealing with a lot . It’s no excuse but still I’m sorry.
YN-Chan 🧡: look I totally understand if you don’t want talk to me after how I acted but if you do I was hoping we could get together and talk?
Hinata could see the text bubble at the bottom showing she was typing but he wasted no time pulling up the call button needing to here your voice. It rang two times before connecting. His heart clinched hearing your soft hello.
“Hey Sho,” you answered.
“Hey there YN-Chan,” he greeted back.
He could here a sense of nervousness in your tone. “Hey sorry if interrupted anything.” He realized how hard he was breathing from excitement and from nearly dying trying to escape his shower.
“Oh no no, its fine I wasn’t busy,” he feigned nonchalance. There was a beat of silence as you both searched for words.
“Umm you had said you wanted to talk?” He questioned. He was really concerned for why you ran off that day.
“Oh yeah but I’d much rather talk in person, is there anyway we could get together soon I understand if you’re busy,”
“I’m free tonight,” he cursed himself for how desperate he sounded, “uhh do you want to come over tonight?”
You chuckled at his eagerness. “If it’s okay with you maybe we could go out... to like dinner maybe,” his heart froze his mind reeling with excitement you had never gone out before. Always just opting to have food delivered and eating in. He couldn’t help but let his hopes rise.
“I know it’s not what we usually do so I get if you’re uncomfor-”
“I’d love to!” He cuts you off. Not wanting to miss this chance.
“A-awesome um is 7:30 good for you?” You questioned.
“Yep!” He could feeling his heart soaring as the plans started to solidify.
“Great well I’ll message you all of the details later, bye Sho umm I’ll see you tonight.”
“Goodbye YN-Chan, can’t wait!” He heard a small laugh leave your lips before the line disconnected. There is a wide smile spread across his face as leaning against the wall next to him not even upset that his shower water was now starting to run cold.
Tumblr media
Hinata’s day was instantly better with thought of seeing you tonight the Idea of having a date with you filled him with joy. Everyone could see the difference in the outside hitter today compared to the last few practices. It’s was like he was in the zone. He was all over the court making the cleanest receives and his spikes were just so on point. It was time for there first water break and stretch. He sat on the bench taking a gulp of water a big smile present on his face when he checks his phone to see a message with a restaurant address. His teammates shared a look at the way the ginger stared at his phone.
“What’s got you so happy Hinata?” Sakusa questioned.
“Yeah Sho you’ve been on fire today plus you won’t stop smiling at your phone!” Bokuto boasted wrapping an arm around his newest teammate.
“That obvious huh?” Hinata grinned. “Well uhh the girl I’ve been talking to wants to go on a date tonight!”
“Oh yeah?” Atsumu smirked “the same girl that’s been marking up yer back recently?” Bokuto and the Setter busted into laughter when Hinata’s faced turned red. Sakusa rolled his eye at the childish behavior.
“Uh haha yeah that’s the one,” he chuckled rubbing the back of his head.
“Well if you’re already fuckin her why are you getting all giddy over a date?” The setter asked
“We’ve actually never been on date before,” Hinata admitted.
“Damn Sho, first date! Why’d you wait so long dude?” Bo wondered.
“Really Hinata-Kun I didn’t take you for the casual sex type,” Sakusa stated
“She’s a friend but I’ve like her pretty much since we met but she’s just not ready for a relationship,” he explains “ she has some bad history but we kept fooling around as friends. I’m so excited cause she asked if I wanted to get dinner so I’m hoping maybe she’s starting to open up to the idea.”
“Ha well good luck then bro,” Bokuto smacked him on the back laughing. The rest of them agreed in the well wishes before the whistle blew signaling the end of their break.
Tumblr media
They resumed their intense training. Right now focusing on their serves and some indurance training. The coaches were wearing them out today going over and over drills. Soon enough they were in the locker room showering up a bit and changing as they got ready for their lunch break before they’d have to return to practice. The locker room filled with chatter as they discussed different plays they wanted to work on or where they wanted to grab lunch. There conversation was interrupted when one of the coaching assistants poked their head in.
“Miya-San your fiancé is here to see you, she waiting by the gym entrance.” He stated before turning to leave. All eyes were on the setter when he dropped his phone a look of shock present on his face. His mind was going a mile a minute he was so sure he miss heard the man . There was no way you were here. He stood up rushing to finish getting dressed. There was a pressure in the room he was ignoring some of his teammates sharing a confused look.
“I didn’t know you had a Fiancé Tsumu?” Hinata asked excitedly as the team started following behind the setter.
“That’s because he doesn’t,” Sakusa stated bitterly. Atsumu shot a dirty look back at the wing spiker.
“She left him months ago before you joined the team Shoyo-Kun, she’s are really nice girl though always brought us the best snacks when she’d visit,” Bokuto explained his hungry mind straying as he thought back to her delicious cooking.
“Oh I’m sorry Atsumu,” Hinata apologized.
“Don’t he deserved it,” Sakusa scoffed.
The setter paid no mind to comment there was no point in getting angry with the neat freak he was completely right. It didn’t matter at the moment what mattered was seeing you. He stopped in his tracks when he saw you standing there. You were even more beautiful than he remembered. You were looking at your hands picking at your nails. He could see you were nervous. So was he. What was he supposed to say he knew he owed you an apology and much more but it felt like he couldn’t breath looking at you. You looked up at him your eyes locking. There was a look he couldn’t quite pin point. It wasn’t exactly a look of hated which it was what he expected but it also nothing like the looks of love he used to receive. He didn’t even realize the boys had stopped behind him watching the scene. His eyes only focused on you and nothing else.
That is until he hears a sharp breath from behind him as Hinata called out your name. Bokuto and Sakusa’s eyes snapped to the ginger some confusion present. Atsumu however didn’t look away from you not even when you gaze shifted from the setter to his teammate. This look in your eyes he could distinguish. It was one you used to look at him with. It shattered Atsumu as he realized right then you were the woman Hinata had been talking about. It obvious when he saw a similar look of happiness on Shoyo’s face. It felt like a kick to the gut. An array of emotions swirling through his mind. He was hurt to think you moved on. Disgusted as he thought back to his earlier convo with the man and how they had discussed the scratches on his friends back and now realizing how they were from you. He felt like he was going to puke thinking of his teammate with you in that intimate way. But he knew he had no right to feel this way not after all he put you through so he pushed those emotions deep inside. Returning to the moment.
“Hi Sho,” you gave a small smile as you shuffled nervously in your spot.
“I thought we were getting dinner? We can switched to lunch if you need to tho.” He stated.
Sakusa and Bokutos eyes grew wide finally coming to the same conclusion the setter previously had. Sakusa had to stifle a laugh as Bo muttered “oh shit” under his breath at the awkward situation.
“Um actually Shoyo, I’d still like to get dinner with you. I know this must seem really confusing, and I promise to explain everything tonight, but uhh.. I actually here to see Miya-San.” You explain sheepishly.
Atsumu tried not to flinch at the use of his last name.
You turned to the blonde with a stoic face. “Can we get lunch, we really need to talk.” He nodded not knowing how to use his voice.
You turned back to Hinata with a pleasing look. “I’ll call you later before our date, Sho.” Before turning to leave with Tsumu.
Hinata may be beyond confused right now not yet connecting the dots. But that didn’t matter he couldn’t stop his heart from skipping. Date. It’s a date. He wasn’t overthinking or wishing hopefully. It was an actual date with you! The woman he can’t get out of his mind. And that one little comfort was enough for him to trust the situation as he watched you walk away.

MIE ‼️ What sports would the aot boys play? I’m so thirsty thinkin about these fine men in their uniforms and them wiping their sweat off 🥵 I will cheer for all of them with my “my bf is not only #1 in the sheets…” sign
I love thinking about athlete aus… I think I might have done one before, but I have more thots now 😌😌
Eren plays soccer in the fall, hockey in the winter, and baseball or lacrosse in the spring—tri-season athlete no big deal. But really, it actually helps him focus better on his schoolwork; he has to really manage his time between practice and games and assignments, and it teaches him to be responsible and self-sufficient, and he finds out that he much rather likes having something to do than being bored out of his mind.
He always plays forward because he’s quite aggressive, but it’s needed in these kinds of scenarios. He sometimes forgets his jerseys, in which case you’ll get a frantic phone call 2 hours before his game, “Babe, babe, babe, babe!!! I know you have your microbio lecture but I left my gym bag at your place and Levi is gonna fucking murder me—you’re the fucking best you know that, I love you!!!”
Jean plays basketball in the fall, and does swimming/diving in the winter. Depending on the year, he’ll play baseball in the spring too, and he’s got a pretty mean swing. He and Eren are honestly a pretty damn good team when they play together, and Jean is about the only person on the team who can predict and catch Eren’s crazy throws. Also, I will advocate for beefcake Jean with nice arms until I’m dead and gone, and he would look so good in all the swimming attire, even the stupid ass swimming caps and goggles he somehow comes out of the water looking sexy. Delicious, 12/10.
Armin plays soccer in the fall and he didn’t plan on playing any sports at university; too concerned that it wouldn’t allow him enough time to focus on his studies. The only thing he considered was swimming because he’s… a pretty damn good swimmer, but didn’t think it would be worth it.
However, Eren scammed him into coming to soccer try-outs during preseason and Armin made it, and turns out he really enjoys it, too. He would look… very cute in a soccer uniform, that’s all I’ll say. Definitely brings 18293 extra energy bars for Eren because Eren always forgets food (even tho he consumes it all day every day). He never did go through with swimming, which is a shame because he could probably lap half the other teams in his sleep. Oh well.
Connie plays volleyball!! And he looks sexy as hell doing it!!! He tries it out for fun and he fucking loves it, so much that he plays during the fall season for the university, but he also plays club year round. He honestly has the time of his life. Originally, he planned on being a setter—and sometimes he is—but he’s a better wing spiker than anything. Loves fake out attacks and he gets so fucking hype whenever his team makes a good play.
Wanna say I can also see Connie running track, but I just know he’d fall and bust his ass on the hurdles plsssss. Makes the dumbest faces whenever he passes his opponents and fucking winks before he crosses the finish line. 100% has a victory dance.
Levi plays soccer in the fall and hockey in the winter, and if you think he’s not the captain of both teams, then think again. Center forward in soccer, and let me tell you something, his legs in those shorts… yes, the socks and shin guards and literally hiding his lower legs but he still looks so. Biteable. His hockey uniform covers him from head to toe and he still looks sexy. He doesn’t even have to be as aggressive in hockey, because he’s such a skilled skater, he gets by without physical contact. He does casual ice skating sometimes because he’s that smooth on the ice, but it’s nothing serious. No because when he takes his helmet off after a game >>>
Porco plays hockey in the winter and baseball in the spring. If you thought Eren was aggressive on the ice, then you haven’t met Porco. He actually plays the best when he’s a little peeved off, but not so much that it clouds his head; when that happens, it’s him in the box literally every other play, and you should feel sorry for the other team’s forwards because they’re getting body checked as soon as he’s out.
He’s… alarmingly fast off the ice, too, which is why he’s a fucking ace on the baseball field. Not to mention he looks stupid cute in the uniform. Especially the hat. Particularly the hat.
Reiner is built like a fucking brick house, he’s playing hockey and he’s the goalie. Likes to be chill with his teammates and even goof off a bit before the game, but when he’s on the ice it’s game time. He’s so focused. He takes it pretty hard on himself whenever the other team gets a sneaky attack past him, but it fuels him to keep a sharper eye out for next time.
Bertholdt also does swimming/diving, but he does the longer races. His endurance is really good, and his technique is to take it easy in the beginning—even if it looks like the others are lapping him by a lot—and then kick it up when it comes to the end of the race. It’s effective 99.9% of the time. Him in the swimming shorts… very nice image, indeed.
