There's three main inaccuracies that annoy me about how a lot of people write the Ladynoir dynamic in fics (especially ones that aren't Ladynoir-centric)

1) I feel like a lot of people forget in their fics that Ladybug and Chat Noir don't just fight Akumas/Sentimonsters. People often write them as if they just don't see each other at all outside of Akuma battles, so if Hawkmoth doesn't akumatize anyone for two weeks, they just don't see each other for those two weeks unless the author decides to write in patrols. That's not actually canon!!!! Those battles just happen to be the focus of every episode, but we've seen them canonically doing other superhero good deeds like saving a falling helicopter and rescuing kitties from trees and saving Damocles when he puts himself in danger trying to be a hero.

By extension you can probably also assume they do other typical non-kids' Y7 cartoon-friendly superhero good deeds like catching purse snatchers and rescuing people from burning buildings. Don't be afraid to write them doing these kinds of good deeds!!! In addition to showing how Ladybug and Chat Noir interact and work together in different kinds of situations, it adds variety and life to the story and makes it more Real, since it shows Ladybug and Chat Noir being connected to and interacting with the city they protect, a lot moreso than if the story limits them to just taking on the Akuma battle of the week and then disappearing until the next one.

2) Sometimes people also write Ladybug as if she never hangs out with or sees Chat Noir outside of those Akuma battles and wants to keep it that way. Even when they do include patrols, often those patrols will just show them splitting up and Patrolling with limited conversation towards the end, keeping their friendship distant. Ladybug and Chat Noir regularly spend time together outside of battles!!!! We have seen them canonically eating ice cream together, taking selfies with civilians, sitting on rooftops together to enjoy the views and unwind and talk one-on-one (regardless of if it's the middle of the day, sunset, or nighttime), and going for a walk on Pont des Arts together.

(Apparently they even canonically do magazine photoshoots together)

They could very easily do solo patrols if the purpose of patrols was just to keep the city safe. Split-up solo patrols would probably be more efficient and easier to coordinate with their schedules. But there's a reason she promises in Truth/Lies that she'll never miss a patrol with him again, and that's because the patrols double as hangouts for them!!! They don't just split up and keep a quiet watch over the city from the rooftops, they interact with their city together during their dates patrols as a couple duo.

3. And the last one, probably the most common: People forget that Ladybug likes to have fun with Chat Noir. It's never been just "the serious heroine who rolls her eyes at the comedic hero." Ladybug does not just roll her eyes at Chat Noir and despise his puns. Ladybug loves being playful with Chat Noir. She loves to annoy him, loves to roast him, loves to be competitive with him, loves to give him a little gremlin smile when she knows he's going to hate whatever she has planned, loves to get flirty right back at him and even makes her own cat puns at him from as early as the First Episode. There are literal canon scenes of him rolling his eyes at her jokes.

Tl;dr: Ladynoir are best friends who love to spend time together and their city loves them don't forget it

#anyway if you write fics that remember and show these details in your depiction of ladynoir i am kissing you on the head #when people mischaracterize ladynoir's dynamic / erase how close they are / turn ladybug in to this always-serious no-nonsense heroine who #has no interest in seeing chat noir outside of Akuma battles just to artificially put emphasis on another side of the lovesquare #and only focus on interactions between adrien/chat noir and marinette (usually to the end of getting him to finially ~notice her~) #I throw hands #ladynoir #* #talks

Am I the only one who doesn't think if/when Adrien finds out about everything (him being a senti, the wish, his father being Hawkmoth/Shadowmoth/Monarch (pick your poison)) that he'll break up with or even lash out at Marinette?

I know we've seen him get angry with Ladybug over secret keeping, from not telling him important information and keeping him out of the loop. But isn't this situation different?

For starters, in this scenario, Adrien has already been dating Marinette for a while, at least a few months, before finding out. While this might not seem that it changes much, as he was already close to and in love with Ladybug when they went through their rough patches, there are actually some key differences between these relationships.

For starters, Adrinette at this point is in a devoted and loving relationship. Adrien feels secure in his relationship with Marinette, which is something not always afforded to him with Ladybug. Finding out that she had been keeping big secrets from him might cause a disturbance to this, but being as how their relationship is on much more stable foundation from Adrien's perspective, they may be able to recover more easily.

Additionally, Adrien tends to experience love in an all-consuming manner. Being as how he is in a reciprocal relationship with Marinette, his feelings are allowed to flourish a lot more and are arguably more potently felt than with his stunted affections towards the unavailable Ladybug. He's not going to easily just let go of something that fills him up and makes him feel loved and content.

What's more so is that Adrien as a civilian, is a lot more insular in expressing his feelings than Chat Noir is. Meaning, while Chat Noir might blow up when feeling angry or hurt, Adrien is more likely to keep it inside and either internalize the hurt (by blaming himself) or give himself time to get through it.

Finally, we have seen Adrien's reaction to Marinette being hurt (and it doesn't end well for the person who hurt her). What is, in my opinion a far more likely outcome to an Adrinette fight/breakup, is Adrien seeing Marinette as a victim, because let's be clear here, she is a victim.

Marinette has been through a ton of trauma. And then after seeing it all, she was sworn to silence by a number of people who honestly have more of a responsibility for disclosure with Adrien than Marinette does. Is it not Felix's responsibility to tell him about being a senti? Is it not Nathalie's responsibility to tell him about the crimes his father committed with her as an accomplice? Is it not Plagg's responsibility to tell Adrien about the wish he had to grant?

It is not Marinette's fault that all of these things transpired, and yet, she has been burdened with the knowledge of all of it and will likely be the one saddled with having to relay it all to Adrien. Adrien, who is compassionate and loves her, would likely see the position she was put it and rather than lash out, he would probably want to comfort her.

Thereby putting two very traumatized kids in the position of having to help each other out of their guilt and grief.

Occasionally I’ll think about my post about how Marinette and few other characters are 14 and scroll through the reblogs of people saying “SHE’S 14!! I THOUGHT SHE WAS 16/17!!” and while I love to giggle about it, I think it puts a lot of things into prescriptive about how people see Marinette.

I feel like a lot of people give Marinette so much shit for the things she does because in their heads, Marinette is 16/17 and therefore she’s been a teen for a while/almost an adult but it’s the opposite.

Marinette turned 14 in Befana (season 2), meaning that she got her Miraculous when she was 13. Do you remember being 13? I’ve repressed a lot of memories from being 13 and I repressed those memories because being 13 sucks, it sucks a lot. Not to mention, she’s the most important person who can stop Paris, her home from being destroyed on a daily basis. (This isn’t to minimize Cat Noir’s efforts but it’s up to Ladybug to cleanse/de-evilize akumas and make the Lucky Charm to Miraculous Ladybug everything back together)

Sure, I don’t agree with how Marinette does everything but honestly being 13/14 with a bully who got your best friend suspended, poor emotional regulation, and the literal fate of the world on your shoulders definitely make it harder to make good decisions.
