POLICY UPDATE (04/27/24)

Hello everyone!

It's that time again! Time for a P O L I C Y U P D A T E or "MFRP PATCH NOTES" if you'd prefer! We have a few things to touch on this time including some policy changes, reminders, and even a new tag!

CHANGES

Starting on a positive note: we've recently made some changes to our Discord server to reduce the clutter and take advantage of the recently added forum channels. If you haven't dropped in yet now might be a good time! You can find a link to it here!

Going forward there will no longer be a rank requirement for a character to have internet access! This was a carryover system from the previous group but we have decided this stipulation is pretty unnecessary so every character will have proper internet access upon acceptance.

We've moved links to past policy updates onto their own page instead of listing all of them on the "important links" page. Only the most recent policy update will be featured alongside a link to this page on important links going forward!

REMINDERS

At the end of last month we made a post about communicating within the group. If you haven't read it yet please make sure you do! You can find it here!

If you are writing a muse that is under 18 years of age please do not engage with any dash commentary or replies on these characters that are adult in nature! While we understand that all of our members are adults we still expect that characters that are canonically minors to steer clear from these subjects because engaging in them may make others uncomfortable. Minor characters are explicitly forbidden from engaging with any form of sexual or suggestive content in any form, whether it be as simple as commenting on it.

For those that wish to reserve newly released gacha characters we'd like to reiterate the policy we've had for some time now. These characters cannot be reserved or applied until a full week has passed since their release! So if they were released at any time between 12:00am and 11:59:59pm EST on the 1st of the month they cannot be reserved or applied until 12:00am EST on the 9th! We do this so that there is a one time fits all policy, as different games release characters at different times. There was an inconsistency with this on the rules page but we've gone and corrected it!

When ranking up your character to Subgiant or Giant we request a certain number of interactions with "individuals". We'd like to clarify that these individuals refer to different characters and not different muns. However when submitting your rank up requests please keep in mind that we won't be accepting using more than three characters from the same mun going forward.

NEW

Going forward you must have your character's canon age listed either on the application itself or your stats page to be accepted. We understand that in many cases canon ages aren't given for characters but we ask that you make your best guess. If we feel that you may be over or underrepresenting their age we may ask you to change it! In the case of immortal or unaging characters please list their physical age (ie how old they look) along with their chronological age.

We also ask that all existing members make sure to include their character's ages on their blogs somewhere to coincide with the change above! There's no rush to do this immediately but we may start reaching out if we notice accounts without it in a few months!

To keep things a little more organized we'd like to add a new tag! Going forward if you'd like to post a permanent plotter call, or if you'd like to search for one to like, please use the "#isola perm call" tag! We hope this makes it easier to find these posts so that they're easier to utilize!

"If you score a hat-trick, I'll give you a kiss."

For a lazy genius like Nagi, you just needed to dangle some bait to get them running.

Manga volumes, gacha funds, in-game cosmetics, and, in moderation, days off from practice — Reo would reward Nagi with whatever he could think of just to keep him from slacking off; but lately, he was starting to run out of ideas.

They still had a couple more games to go; and if they stayed undefeated until the end, Hakuho High School would qualify for something for the first time and represent Tokyo in the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament — all thanks to their star duo.

Nagi was at his most stubborn against the weaker schools, ‘wastes of energy’ as he’d called them, the ones that barely put up a fight. At this point in the competition though, everyone was taking it so seriously, you’d think their lives were on the line. It should probably be fine.

“Hey, Nagi,” Reo called out to the other boy lazily stretching by the corner of the pitch. “If you score a hat-trick, I'll give you a kiss,” he joked all too casually, before jogging away to regroup with the team, resuming their warm-up.

The opposing school scored an early opener against them, breaking their clean sheet streak just ten minutes after kickoff. Reo didn’t even give it a second thought seeing Nagi on form the whole game; it had been a while since they'd even conceded a goal.

The game ended 3-1 in favour of Hakuho. They were to advance to the quarterfinals.

Nagi was staring at Reo with his big, almost buglike, eyes the entire time in the locker room; and Reo almost didn’t get why until he walked up to him and spoke up, waiting once everyone had left.

“Got a hat-trick.”

Oh. That.

Reo was a bit confused, unsure why Nagi would actually want a kiss from him — but even if he wasn’t serious about it, he did mention it; and he had to hold up his end of the deal, like always.

So, Reo leaned in, happily giving his best friend a quick peck on the cheek. No biggie.

And when he pulled away, Nagi was pouting. He would worry that Nagi realised it was weird, but he recognised this expression — he saw this exact same one all the time, when Nagi would ask for a few more minutes of rest in between training, for a piggyback ride, or for just anything.

“That’s all?” Nagi asked, sounding like a disappointed kid who wanted an extra piece of candy.

“Eh?” Now Reo was utterly dumbfounded, unable to process the last thing Nagi said, much less the next.

“Can I get a real kiss if I score three again?”

Next game. Quarterfinals. Nagi didn’t score three —

He scored four.

Two figures stood at the very corner of the room, hiding for the chance that someone would walk in at any time. Nagi was looking at Reo expectantly now, if he had a tail you could imagine it wagging.

Reo was nervous for some reason, even though he decided he didn’t mind. He had to take a very deep breath, several actually, before finally leaning in; closing his eyes and gently putting his lips on Nagi, who instantly kissed back, like he’d been waiting for this moment for so long. He half-expected Nagi’s lips to be rough and chapped, but they felt so soft against his own.

Reo kept it short and sweet, feeling like he wouldn’t be able to handle it if it lasted even a second longer; Nagi chased after him the second they parted; but Reo was quicker to turn away, avoiding eye contact — but it wasn’t because it was bad, because it wasn’t.

It went pretty much like he expected, apart from liking it more than he thought he would.

“You’ll have to keep scoring for more,” he said, embarrassed.

“Okay.” The reply came almost instantly; Nagi was absolutely unashamed and Reo didn’t fully understand why Nagi was so eager for it, but if it meant he could motivate him better than ever, he didn’t mind.

It soon became awkward when it fell silent, and the realisation that they were still in this position, in this corner of the room, hit — but when Reo was just about to move, Nagi spoke again.

“Hey, Reo…” he started, his tone somehow innocent and dangerous at the same time. “What do I get when we win the nationals?”

This guy…! They haven’t even qualified yet!

Alright I've had enough What is Lor? You've posted enough, I'm intrigued

LOR stands for library of ruina, project moons second game. It'd also my catchall tag for project moon because changing all the posts to that is a lot of effort and I'm a mobile user.

Project moon has three games out: Lobotomy corporation, Library of Ruina, and the newly released Limbus Company (each with a lot of world building)

Lobotomy corporation is an scp manager (monster management etc), Library of Ruina is a deck building game (/ card game), and Limbus Company is a dungeon crawler rpg (I think?? Also a gacha but is f2p / free to play friendly)

Both lobotomy corporation and Library of Ruina share most of the same cast while Limbus company has a completely new cast (though the whole game isn't out yet so I have no idea if anyone from past games show up but I hope they do).

In both Lobcorp and LOR you have Angela and the 9 Sephirah (Maluth, Yesod, Hod, Netzach, Tiphereth, Gebura , Chesed, Binah, and Hokma) as well as Roland in LOR. (I'm not about to name 9ff all of the reverberation ensemble but theyre the general antagonists of that game)

In Limbus company you have Dante, Vergilius, Charon , and the twelve sinners (Gregor, Rodion, Sinclair, Yi Sang, Ishmael, Heathcliff, Don Quixote, Hong Lu, Ryōshū, Meursault, Outis, and Faust).

All of these games take place in a place called The City. The city has 26 districts (A-Z but Z isn't on the map). The city has a place called a wing (megacorp who runs a district) which have nests (towns) , feathere (people inside the nests), and backstreets (the place the nest doesn't encompass. Also where syndicates control. Each being the Five fingers ( The Thumb, The index (hands out prescripts), The middle, The ring, and The pinky). Each syndicate has subsidiaries but I'm not getting into that). ) There are also Fixers (hired mercenaries). Theyre graded from 9 (lowest) to 1 (highest) and then given a color (color Fixers are higher than 1). Theyre given these ranks by the Hana association (big association that hands out fixer titles etc).

Notable Color Fixers are The red mist, the blue reverberation (guy in my icon), the purple tear, and the black silence. (The vermillion crost exists but I'm not mentioning that bc spoilers. Also the Red Gaze but that's for limbus company)

In Lobcorp you're tasked with managing your abnormalities (scp) to make power (and I won't spoil how that goes)

In LOR you're tasked with fighting people (in receptions) and turning them into books so Angela (head librarian) can learn more about the city

In Limbus company you're tasked with finding and retrieving Golden Boughs (leftovers from the seed of light)

This is the like, easiest way I can explain them without slapping spoilers all over the place and trying to explain them in full.

ULTIMATE PUNISHING: GRAY RAVEN CHARACTER SHOWDOWN

A tournament to find out the ultimate PGR character. The most PGR character of all time.

* What?

Punishing: Gray Raven is a stage-based RPG gacha game that dares to ask provocative questions such as: wouldn't it be sick if people with mechanic bodies fought with sick weapons? (The answer is yes) (It's also a lot about transhumanism)

* Why?

Because the dev team forgot to promote the game and now I have to be the one to tell people about it. But for real I think it's a genuinely great game and I wish more people knew about it, and a tournament is an easy way to have people learn about it.

* Who?

Well, the bracket includes all playable characters, including the ones that haven't been released on global servers yet, as well as some recurring NPCs that are beloved (by me, mostly).

Currently Watching: I guess Girl From Nowhere counts. Was revisiting this after my time in Thailand to see if I would get a better sense of the show's cultural background.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: I love many flavors, but I guess my inclinations are towards sweet and spicy. (This one put the most chilis in their Tom Yum)

Relationship Status: I have at least one gf.

Current Obsession: Favorite character in Fire Emblem, Mozu, was finally added to the series' gacha game, so on a tirade about that right now.

There's this anime gacha golf game I've been playing called Birdie Crush and something about it just feels surreal. I stumbled across it while aimlessly browsing the app store and decided why not, golf games are fun. But like, this game's last major update was almost a year ago. There is a reddit for fans of it but it seems very dormant with some of the most recent posts speculate that the devs have abandoned the game. I have found one solitary piece of fanart for it. There is an online mode where you compete again other players, but the other players aren't playing it live with you, it's seemingly just recordings of players' past attempts at the courses. Who knows how old those records are.

I feel like I'm the only person on earth who plays this game. Not literally, but... It's almost a liminal feeling. This feels like a game an AI matrix simulation would conjure. I know it's just another gacha game trying to make money off of microtransactions, but given that I have no urge to spend real money on any mobile game, the bits of advertising for shiny digital loot boxes and character outfits just feel like part of a facade. Idk why but this game has a fascinating aura, and the gameplay isn't half bad either.

Out of curiosity I searched AO3, and indeed there are no fics for it. I am now tempted to write some tiny one-shot just to be able to say that I founded a fandom tag on AO3.

Mc! Monday

Today really just is a good day to write for me. I will pre write this last one and schedule it for tomorrow to release when I'm not able to access Tumblr.

Prompt: What does MC bond with the characters over or how does their relationship strengthen?

Lucifer:

Lucifer was one of the first people Icarus meet in after waking up in the castle and learning of his halfdemon status and why he was summoned. Tho it took Icarus some warming up, he would seek out Lucifer for Advice when troubled. Icarus trusts the eldest brother with his worries and fears alot and let him take care of him the first time he broke down since arriving in the Devildom.

Classical Music - Both love it & Icarus asked Lucifer for piano lessons a month into his stay. It made them closer and open up to eachother more Taking care of the other - both of them are workaholics, exhausting themself to the point of passing of. So they take care of the other while working or if the other passed out. It made eachother trust the other in their most vulnerable state.

Mammon:

Even tho he was announced Icarus' Guardian they hated eachother at first. Icarus didn't like or wanted to deal with mammon's whiplash personality and mammon didn't like Icarus goody-to-shoes nature. But after making the pact and mammon having to protect Icarus from a nightmare that made him lose control of his magic while Lucifer was out they grew closer.

Gambling - tho they like different types of gambling, Icarus loving gacha gambling while mammon preferred casino gambling they understood the love of the concept for it. Sometimes Icarus accompanies Mammon in a Casino, using is fare altering to help the greedy demon win quite a big just so he can ask him for a booster pack in his game. Nobody said Icarus is always smiling just to look approachable. That smile hides quite a bit of mischief~ Protecting others - both of them have a protective nature hating to see loved ones hurt. Since becoming best friends they protect and support eachother. Unaware they used their powers of the benefit of the other secretly.

Levi:

Being a child born and raised in harbor cities and surrounded by fishermen and sailor wisdom/history Icarus was vary. He heard tales of sea monsters and tho he was fascinated by them he didn't want to get on the bad side of one. And Levi was known as the king of sea monsters so easy to say Icarus was a bit scared of him.

Levi on the other hand was intrigued. He heard from Lucifer talking on the phone with Barbatos late at night that Icarus was into Anime and Manga as well was novels and webtoons. He was first thinking that Icarus was just a poser until he heard on another night Icarus ramble about a webtoons to Mammon which actually asked questions to keep the other talking. Safe to say after that Levi tried his best to befriend the scared halfdemon. After the TSL battle and Icarus literally getting a panic attack from seeing Levi furious from Envy their friendship took a tool, making Levi decide to form a pact to show Icarus that he won't ever scare them again. Since then they because closer and eventually fell in love

Anime/Manga/Games/Webtoons - both are major Otakus. They often stay up together watchin, reading or playing together or individually. They enjoy the presence of the other. And thanks to both being tailed demons the even still can get a minimal of body contact, which Icarus craves Ocean/water relation - both love/need the ocean. Icarus being not only born and raised near the Ostsee but also needing salt water for his skin condition hates being to far from the ocean and Levi, being a sea serpent demon, can understand the yearning for water. So often they hang around Levi's room or make a trip to the devildoms Navi headquarters to feel closer to the ocean Pet snakes - Levi gifted Icarus a ghost devildoms ball python as Icarus loves snakes! And not only being a serpent himself but also have had a pet snake he understands and bonds over it with Icarus.

Satan:

Satan and Icarus saw eachother and something clicked in them. They knew at the same time the other was like them. Anger issues, cat and book loving, hate being compared to an older sibling and hidi g their true emotions. They knew the other did the same things. So on Icarus'first day in HOL Satan and him talked and became close. It was an added bonus that Icarus brought a cat with him which made Satan estatic.

Anger - both have a hard time controlling their own form of it. So whenever they feel like exploding they go to the other and take them for either a reading/cuddling Lavendel session, a vent session or a walk to the nearest café/library. They help eachother calm down. Mystery Book+Cats - both love a good mystery Book, especially murder mystery or Sherlock Holmes and they are both cat persons. When Icarus introduced Satan zu Lavendel, Icarus calico kitten, he was over the moon and made a special color for the collar trained kitten so she can get in all rooms without someone needing to open the door for her.

Asmo:

At first Icarus was wierded out by him and all the sexual innuendos made him uncomfortable as Icarus is on both the Ace as well as Aro spectrum and still sex repulsed. But as soon as he told Asmo to stop it was he felt creeped out and scared, Asmo understood and stopped. After that he started to give Icarus tips rather on things for his dermititis spots. After a few weeks Icarus started to allow asmo in his Personal bubble. Then the retreat happened and they started to get really close.

Self care - even tho Icarus doesn't appear like it he does love self and especially skin care something asmo can agree on with the half demon. The two of them do at home spa days at least twice a week as well as go out to one every once in a while Gossip - yes Icarus loves gossiping and hearing the latest rumors. He finds it interesting as he was usually the subject of nasty rumors in his school life. And asmo is not one to say no to Icarus.

Beel:

When they meet, both where unsure of the other. Icarus appeared like a small helpless bat or rabbit to Beel while Beel appeared like a giant grizzly to Icarus. The first few weeks they kinda tip toed around each other, neither wanting to do the first step for very different reasons. But after the dream encounter Icarus make a bento box and visited one of beels fangol trainings. The famished demon happily munched while finally talking to the smaller. That was the beginning of a friendship as well as a small crush..

Food - both beels as well as Icarus first love is food. Icarus loves cooking and trying out new recipes and beel loves being his tester. Hiking - Icarus invites beel often to hikes which he gladly agrees to. Tho most of the time Icarus flys next to beel to keep up. Being short is sometimes a blessing and a curse..

Belphie:

They met by accident in Belphegores dreamscape. After talking abit and agreeing to help out eachother, they met often in one of their dreams, sometimes just to talk. Quickly they became friends, with Icarus developing a crush on the cow demon.

After lesson 16 all they had build up was gone. Icarus became extremely afraid of belphie. Flinching when he moved his hand up too high, getting panic attacks when he saw belphie shift into his demon form and running to either Lucifer, Mammon or Levi when Belphie tried talking to him. So belphie tried careful steps are going back to their origins. That ways he slowly got the trust, and eventually the love too, back that he destroyed

Physical touch - tho Icarus was scared fir quite a while of being touched by belphie he now hates not touching him when he is close. May it be tail holding, cuddling, napping together or even more intimate things, Icarus won't turn anything down as long as he can touch one of his lovers and boyfriend's Stars - belphie loves stars and everything about them as we know, so it's a given that he likes Icarus just for being a demon related to the stars in the sky. They bond other them and often belphie helps Icarus create the beauty of his skys Being the youngest - both Icarus and belphie are the babies of their respective families. They know how to work they brothers to get what they want and often they use it to their advantage. Nobody said they were innocent of abusing that fact

Diavolo:

Being one of the first to meet Icarus he meet Icarus at his truest form, an anxious unsure young being which is scared of dissapointing. And being a very big man with unusual bright red hair and glowing golden eyes he scared the poor confused and still dazed boy to the point of crying and reciting bibel verses he didnt even knew he somehow had stored in his subconscious. Now it took a few days but eventually diavolo got icarus to let him get to know the half demon. And after diavolo stealing the young being and going to the amusement park and being the big brother icarus lost long ago diavolo got icarus to let him in his heart and turn into a place of comfort.

planing events - diavolo loving the chaos and excitement and icarus loving to let his creativity run wild they are a force to reckon with ones they started planing an event. barbatos even gets slightly stressed when ever he sees Icarus running around his pastel lilac notebook especially when it is in direction of where the prince is.. Annoying and showing lucifer their affection - both oblivious hold loads of affection of alot of ppl, but especially the avatar of pride even if it is for diffrent reasons and styles of showing that love. so while diavolo is very grand and open about his affection, the other is more calm and prefers to do little things to sweeten Lucifers days. they often talk about this over tea meetings.

Barbatos:

Just like Diavolo Barbatos was one of the first to see Icarus true self. But he was also the first to be allowed close to Icarus. While the young being was scared of the prince, he was the one the young one hid behind while shaking before diavolo and lucifer, he learned of the boys interests, likes, dislikes and all the little things he did. He was also the first to recieve a tiny folded star which icarus explained was his way of showing the gifted to that he feels comftable and trusts them. I called them his friendship stars. the more one had, the bigger his trust. The two started to bound thanks to icarus refusing to leave Barbatos side, one of his excuses where being new to the palace and his powers

The struggle of knowing the past, presents and future - Both of the bat like demons are connected to the flow of time and know the struggle and feeling of isolation of knowing what will and what could happen even if they had diffrent way of knowing them. Barbatos often comforts Icarus when he starts to be overwhelmed of feels too lonely thanks to his ability to alter fate and see what happens/happend reminding him that he will always have barbatos as his older brother and that he knows the feeling. Tea - Icarus, being raised in Germany and knowing tea as something to enjoy and to heal, often enjoys shopping, preparing, learning, testing as well as enjoying tea with barbatos which was not only happy but also relieved when he learned icarus prefered drink was tea instead of coffee or soda and similar drinks. The two time demons often meet outside rad and go to tea shops as well as events surounding the dried plants

Simeon:

Whem Icarus meet Simeon he disliked the angel for multiple reasons. For one his mother was a christian and forced the religion on him while he grew up making him hate any and all things related taboo topics, he was still angry against all angels for ignoring his prayers of help or atleast protection and lastly he heard the story of him turning against his ancestor Lilith and her brothers even tho Simeon adressed them as his siblings. Meanwhile Simeon just tried his best to be a good exchange student and tried to atleast get Icarus to tolerate him. In the end he only got Icarus high walls thanks to a certain younger angel which melted the cautious half demons heart instantly.

writing/drawing - both the angel as well as the young demon has a passion for writing, even if Icarus creative strong suit is drawing, they often proof read and advice eachother. Simeon, being a professional writer with a hit series, often is taking on the role of mentor for icarus when it comes to writing. meanwhiles icarus started to be Simeons cover artist. the two of them are still confused as to how alot of people didnt get that icarus was the artist when is tag has his name in it

Luke:

Luke meet the half demon in his first month while he still lived in the castle to recover from the summoning gone wrong. He at first thought Icarus was a full lesser demon. But Barbatos quickly corrected him and explained that if anything Icarus was only half minor sloth demon and half human with apparently angel ancestry. That info chanced the young angels whole view on the other. Being a little sunshine and appearing like a child Icarus instantly went into older sibling mode and took Luke under his wing. Safe to say, no one dared to mess with luke as soon as Icarus started attending, making the two be very close and truly feel like siblings

Baking - While Icarus is truly bad at it, he still enjoys the process. Luke decided to help his newest familiy member and taught him to bake. for that Icarus taught him human reciepes he knew well. which are mostly asian and german reciepes. Being pick on for their appearance - Both being quite short standing at highest 5'2 and looking rather soft they both had to deal with being made fun about it. the diffrence between is that while luke is all barks no bite, Icarus is one warning bark before he roars and bites hard. dont mess with a lions pride, especially the cub :)

Solomon:

Being the only other human Icarus was drawn to him like a moth to flame. He disliked it that Solomon shared basically no real information about himself, liking to know atleast one or two preferences of people he knew, but he learned to accept it. The other oart of solomon he more then disliked was being treated like an experiment or lab rat which solomon treated him like. He knew that he was something that may be a one in a lifetime mix of races but he still could stand the behavior solomon showed him. After lashing out and screaming at solomon that he was still a person and not one of his experiments solomon stopped and apologized. after a bit the two decided to restart and became close friends

Magic - Icarus being new to the world of magic was naturally worryingly curious about it as he was now a being of magic himself. Solomon decided to make it his mission to help Icarus understand his magic and master it. Often tho Icarus is Solomons test subject for his rechearche which is also the reason Icarus now his notly a winged but also a tailed demon. tho icarus cant make his tail disappeared having to hide it or lie that it is a every high tech fashion choice when he is in the human world.

I decided to take a look through the Japanese Super Famicom Wars tag on Twitter, just to see what was there. I don't have any screenshots, because the only way I could look through Twitter without it telling me to get an account and barring me from looking at it was to be in secret mode, which keeps me from taking screenshots.

I was suprised to see it as active as it was. I was expecting there to maybe be 1 or 2 tweets this week, maybe 3 last month, but there was actually alot there. It was mostly people talking about the Eshops closing, being upset that the game will become much harder to find and hoping that it gets on NSO, but there was also alot of people talking about how much they love playing it and their nostalgia for it. Even some people posting about actually managing to get an original copy of it.

It feels, odd, seeing other people actually post about SFW outside of me and a few other people I'm aware of. With the western fanbase being so empty, I often forget that there are still alot of Japanese fans that care about the game.

There was also alot of people hoping that they drop DS2 on VC before before the Eshops close, since the game had a terrible release in Japan. It was released as a download only game for club nintendo members, right at the end of the DS' life cycle. The only way you could get the game being described as playing "Secondhand console gacha" at your local used games store to try and find a console that still had the game data on it. Not the exact wording, but you get the point.

While I was looking through this, I couldn't help but wonder why I got so attached to this game in specific. Believe it or not with as much as I post about it, I've never actually played Super Famicom Wars. Yes, I feel like the fakest fan ever, but something about the game fascinates me. The aesthetics and graphics of the game makes me feel oddly nostalgic, despite the fact that I didn't even exist when the game came out and never played any games similar to it. Like a really early childhood memory that I'll never remember. The weird lack of info around the game and it's shitpost of a cast help with keeping interest. I'll talk more about this in a few days, as I have something planned.

I wanna keep researching this game as much as I can, but I've kinda run out of places to look for info. I've gone through old magazines, websites, satellaview magazines, articles, I just can't really think of anywhere else to look besides asking the devs personally, which I can't really do since most of the dev team is either busy with FE or just straight up don't exist online. There is Hirata, who has a twitter, but I don't think my Japanese is good enough to be able to ask anything of significance.

Also some people tweeted about being scared of Billy which I found funny, being described as "The craziest CO in the Famicom Wars series"

hahaha this post pissed me off (probably controversial rant under the cut)

"exactly like dont interact with it then" I CANT. BECAUSE NOBODY TAGS THEIR SHIT PROPERLY. i can't find NORMAL ANYTHING anymore on ao3 because its all flooded with sans au ensembles and shit. and nobody tags them as "alternate universe: _____" so, its actually quite IMPOSSIBLE to avoid.

yeah there are some aus i like, but notice how they aren't the ones that only focus on sans??!! i have to search through a sea of garbage sansxsans au stuff to actually find fics and comics about undertale.

"without aus the game wouldn't last 2 years" CRAZY TAKE. you guys are so blinded by all this mischaracterized single focused TRASH that you cant possibly understand how much of a timeless work undertale is. the lore and secrets are so rich, and there are sooo many great characters to focus on. i am a 7 year long fan of undertale and my love for it has grown stronger over time, without the help of aus. did i dabble in some? yes, and i still do (rarely.) but god, don't you ever get bored??? this is literally the same guy interacting with HIMSELF in DIFFERENT CLOTHES. if ur gonna make au stuff, please spice up your aus/au fics with other UT characters i beg you.

and YEAH. i do believe aus ruined the fandom to an extent. that corner of the fandom is where controversy and problems are BORN. ive lost so many of my fave fic writers/comic makers to aus because they turned into proshippers and stopped writing actually good stuff. how are you gonna swap out a ship between 2 entirely different characters with good chemistry for a sans x sans ship thats INSANE to me. and the mischaracterization from the au fandom drives me absolutely wild.

it makes me so sad to see new fans only knowing the new sans au stuff or poorly plotted undertale things instead of some of the classic masterpieces i grew up with. sometimes i watch those undertale reaction gacha videos and get SOOO sad and disappointed when they only react to aus and weird fangames/bad comics that are so inaccurate it hurts.

i wanna guide them in the right direction to some actually good stuff so they realize how great the game is completely ON IT'S OWN. can barely find good content anywhere anymore. i wish i was a little older when undertale came out so i could fully experience it in its prime days. i love undertale but being younger made me late to the party. i still saw most of the classic stuff early on tho so yesss! (got into the fandom in early 2017 and that story is hilarious)

anyway enough talk about me lol.

i could talk about this for hours but this post is getting long and my fingers are getting tired. sorry for my ritual essay long rant that most likely no one will see, but sometimes u gotta have ur hot takes and yell about them even if nobody's listening. thanks, have a very undertale day!

Personality:

Cintia is an introverted person with a fucked up sleeping schedule. She is a loner who has a bit of an issue with socializing. Most of the time Cintia could be seen alone in different places of campus, playing with her portable console - PSP while trolls pass by her. It seems like barely anyone approaches to talk with her for some reason. Some trolls describe her as cold and unfriendly, though it’s not really the truth. She can be nice and kind, but also isn’t afraid to tell her opinion about someone if she dislikes them.

She does have a few friends online from MMORPG, she talks from time to time.

Cintia doesn’t mind being alone, actually she enjoys it pretty much as she doesn’t seek to socialize with others, offline or online… but sometimes she wishes to have a really close friend who she can rely on. So whenever she finds a troll who has the same interest as hers, she gets very nervous, but so excited about it.

Cintia is obsessed with playing video games, spending all her free time on it, day and night. She played over 3.000 games of each genre during her sweeps. It always helps to lower her stress during exams or group projects, but mostly it could distract her from doing assignments for class.

Cintia loves sleeping and likes to take naps during the day. Unfortunately, her two favourite things - gaming and sleeping - would clash with each other from time to time. Sometimes she can manage it, sometimes not, resulting in her sleeping on the morning lectures.

Cintia can stand up for herself. She isn’t afraid to fight back if others are provoking her on purpose.

Cintia also can be selfish. She thinks about herself and how she feels about certain subjects first, but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t think about others, just not that often.

Backstory:

Cintia was always alone as long as she remembers, only her lusus, MomBat, was with her, raising her to become a troll she could be proud of.

At that time, Alternia was in the middle of rewriting laws to help future generations to be comfortable and secure in their career paths, opening public schools, colleges and universities. MomBat got interested in it and sent Cintia, who was 4.62 sweeps (10 years), to the school. At first, Cintia wasn’t happy about it as she was forced to study useless subjects and be friendly to her classmates…

But after a few sweeps she started to change her opinion as she became part of the friend group. She also got interested in video games at the same time.

There were 6 trolls in the friend group, including Cintia. Each day in school was so much fun for Cintia when she hung out with the group.They did a lot of stuff as a group such as skipping class, eating lunch together, doing homework and so on. All of them were friends for 1.38 sweeps (3 years). It was one of the happiest sweeps she ever had.

But, unfortunately…

…something started to change. Or was it always like that?

Cintia started to notice a different attitude towards her from her ‘friends’, and not only friends…

Sometimes they would forget to invite her to sleepovers or hang out, barely text in the chat group where all of them were, leave her alone after school and so on. Other students also were acting strange, speaking and laughing behind her back. It made her feel bad, but she tried to tell herself that's normal.

After all, she’s part of a friend group! There are 6 of them, including Cintia!

Right?

…

One day, one of her friends texted her privately to stay late and come to History class. Cintia was confused about such a strange message, but if her friend was asking, she couldn’t refuse. After the last class finished, she headed to the history class. As she approached it, she opened the door, she saw…

…a bunch of trolls from different classes waiting for her with her 5 friends in the front.

She doesn’t remember much of the conversation that happened between them, but she would never forget a cold water dumped on her as soon as she entered a room and a push to the floor, followed by a group laugh, echoing in her ears.

Suddenly everything made sense at this moment. All small events that were happening with her during 1.38 sweeps (3 years) of their ‘friendship’: sudden gossip about her; ruined homework, lunch and shoes; leaked messages with the names censored where trolls insulted her and so on…

She tried her best to not remember it, thinking their friendship was genius and it was someone else who hated her, but-

No.

It was them.

It was all of them.

Cintia stood up slowly, head lowered as her hair covered her face. She wasn’t going to let them bully her. Without saying anything, she grabbed the metal chair near her and just swung at trolls who were near her. Thankfully, she didn’t hurt anyone, but it scared the shit out of the group. Loud screams were heard in the room as Cintia swung a chair at her ex-friends and fellow students, yelling in desperation and sadness.

She trusted them.

She told them a lot about herself and who she is.

And they just betrayed her like that.

She won’t forgive them.

...

Unfortunately, Cintia was expelled from the school for violent behaviour towards her classmates and the worst thing, all the evidence of her ex-friend group bullying her was wiped out immediately.

Cintia was in despair. No one believed her.

She locked herself in her hive for 0.92 sweeps (2 years), playing video games to distract herself. She was home-schooled for now on.

…

Later on, MomBat filled the documents for college/law school where most teals were. Cintia didn’t like this idea, but couldn’t do much. She felt guilty for putting her lusus in the bad position after the accident in the past, so she agreed.

She brought all her stuff from her hive to her dorms and decided to start her college life from scratch.

((I’ve had a while to gather my thoughts about it so… here are my feelings on the Magia Record anime’s ending that nobody asked for. Spoilers, obviously.

Despite Magia Record being associated with Madoka Magica, which is dark already, I feel the deaths in Magia Record’s anime were a bit… much? I don’t know, I just feel the writing was crueler than it needed to be. Sure, Yachiyo has the new group at the Mikazuki Villa and a new group of friends, but why did they have to kill off Momoko and Mifuyu, the last two other members of her old group? Even if you say she’s carrying on the hopes of her deceased friends, I think we could have done without the two additional deaths.

I can live with Alina, Touka, and Nemu dying at least. But Ui? Nope. Iroha spent the entire series looking for her and she just. Dies in the end without actually being reunited with her big sister. It just leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

And don’t get me started on the implication that Madoka died. The original game was NOT supposed to be one of Homura’s failed timelines, and her time traveling in the end makes things feel a little pointless.

And with the Doppel system presumably gone, it’s a good idea to assume that everybody died/turned into a Witch at the end. Or at least until Madokami comes in. Yaaay…

Had Magia Record not been adapted from a gacha game where all of the characters I mentioned lived, I would be feeling more positively about how things turned out. I guess I’m just like “things could have ended more happily” despite the fact that the anime already had multiple changes from the source material? I hope I’m making sense.))

((In 2015, I wrote a drabble depicting Red brainwashing Tsubasa, a moment which couldn’t have happened on-screen because the whole brainwashing thing was originally a magic anon that specified she was brainwashed by Red. Said drabble wasn’t very good. So, I’d like to rewrite that to minimize the cringy 2015ness from it and better reflect Tsubasa’s current depiction. Placing this under a cut because this will probably get long!))

The riverbank was quiet. Peaceful. It was the perfect place to sit and read while reflect on things; it was exactly what Tsubasa needed as she sat down on the bench with a book in tow. She wiped some still-fresh tears from her eyes before starting to read.

She would be fine, she told herself. She was a Precure and it was her duty to protect the innocent while keeping her identity a secret from others, she tried reminding herself. It was better to get hurt herself than let others get hurt. Even if she couldn’t reach out for help or explain her injuries to others, it was okay because it was her suffering and nobody else. She kept telling herself this, and yet…

Why was it ringing so hollow today?

A pain clenched her heart that she couldn’t describe. She thought it would go away with time, but the more she tried ignoring it, the more that ache cried out, demanding attention. But even now, Tsubasa threw her focus into her book hoping she’d feel better soon.

“SAIARK!” the cry came from somewhere far away, but it was unmistakable. As soon as it hit Tsubasa’s ears, she shot up from her seated position and closed her book. She reached for her PreChan Mirror-

Are you sure you want to do that? You’ll only get battered and beaten again.

The voice came out of nowhere and it broke Tsubasa’s train of thought. She froze. Scanning the area, she couldn’t find where the voice came from— her only companion appeared to be the hot summer sun.

“Who’s there?!” Tsubasa cried out as her body tensed up. It was clear she wasn’t alone, but who had just spoken? The voice appeared to belong to a man— one she’d never encountered before. Why was he here? Why was he talking to her like this?

You’ve gotten hurt over and over for the sake of people who don’t appreciate it. Even if you were to reach out for help, nobody would notice your pain.

There was a presence behind Tsubasa for the briefest moment. But when Tsubasa spun on her heel, there was still nobody there.

You tell yourself that it’s fine as long as the people around you are safe. That it’s for the best. So you let yourself continue to hurt as everyone continues to smile around you. But… those aren’t your true feelings, are they?

“That’s…!” Tsubasa’s eyes widened in horror as the words caught in her throat. How could she possibly answer something like this— tell this voice that he was wrong about her when she didn’t even know its owner?

You wish desperately for someone to notice you’re hurting and reach out. You want to stop feeling so alone in your battle against everything threatening the peace you so treasure. But nobody will answer your silent call. You will continue to suffer while lying to yourself repeatedly.

Tsubasa’s first instinct was to deny everything this voice was saying about her… but the words wouldn’t come out. Instead, her eyes welled with tears. As she put her hands to her face in confusion, a certain realization came upon her. One that she didn’t want to acknowledge:

On some level, this voice was completely right. She knew she wasn’t okay and wanted someone, anyone to acknowledge her. To tell her that she didn’t need to hurt anymore. That she didn’t need to be so alone anymore. But even such small comfort was beyond her.

You sacrificed your normal life to save your friend, only to be separated across cities. But even on your own, you fought. You thought you were doing a good thing by saving other people as you continued to pay the price. And to add on to your growing misery, there’s another group of heroes in town.

The voice didn’t need to name them; images of the Happiness Charge Precure flashed in her head. They were so pretty and strong… unlike herself.

Every time you look at them, you’re reminded of what you left behind in Tokyo and what you lack. Companionship… strength… support. They are everything you are not and have everything you’re too scared to admit. Seeing their happiness has only served to deepen your own despair.

“St…stop… please… stop…” The difficulty with which those words came out was disturbing. She wanted to run, but her feet stayed rooted in place as her own body was starting to betray her. Every word this voice spoke increased the pain in her heart and caused the tears to overflow even harder.

It’s unfair, is it not?

It’s so unfair!

That thought came spilling out without Tsubasa realizing it. It was undoubtedly her thought, but it was so… foreign. Where did it come from?

Those girls protect the people just like you do, yet they’re smiling while you are left crying all alone.

Why are they happy while I’m not?! Somebody please… look at me instead of them!

Once again, a strange thought forced itself into her mind. It was as if something was trying to invade her body— first it’d frozen her in place and now it was trying to change her thoughts.

Tsubasa whimpered. She knew something was horribly wrong and that the voice was doing something to her, but she was powerless to stop it— whatever this voice was, it was a power far greater than her own. She instead silently prayed that someone would somehow interrupt whatever was happening and save her.

But help was far away.

You cannot continue like this. If your body doesn’t give out, your heart will. You’ll disappear while the people who never looked your way will continue on with their lives like nothing happened.

The thought of disappearing— dying— without anyone acknowledging her delivered a shock Tsubasa wasn’t anticipating. She… she didn’t want this to happen!

My #1 post of 2022

Amanogawa High School. On first glance, it would appear that it was just an ordinary Japanese high school with nothing notable about it. But according to the intel the Legion was able to gather, there was a type of hero residing here that did not exist in their native timeline: Kamen Riders. And one of these Kamen Riders was foolishly open with his identity.

Tsubasa stood on a nearby rooftop, watching as the unsuspecting student body went about their day. Her mission was to gather intel on Kamen Rider Fourze’s ability. She was not going to waste any more time.

“Let the future reflected in the mirror turn terrible!” Within seconds, every human that was not otherwise protected was sealed within a dark coffin-shaped mirror. “Show yourself, Saiark!”

As soon as those words were spoken, every human captured within the mirrors was turned into a Saiark, flooding the school grounds with the monsters.

“Now what will you do... Kamen Rider Fourze?!”
