Ao3 restricted stories.
Should I make my stories available for guests to read on Ao3?
i've been debating with myself about it for a while now, so I thought someone else's opinion wouldn't hurt.
I've currently got ten(10) works on my account; mostly Dc x Dp crossovers. There is one BNHA x Dp crossover, and there will be other fanons later on when I have the time, but that's not the focus right now.
I currently only have my stories available to other ao3 users with accounts; because, when I first decided to start writing on the site, there was a lot of authors complaining about others stealing their works. So, it made sense to, i don't know? protect my works by restricting them? I'm not exactly sure what my thought process was then.
now tho, it's been a while and I'm just not sure if I should unrestrict them or not. like, I wrote my stories to be enjoyed by others. so, making it where practically half of the people who would enjoy my fics can't read them? it just seems wrong, but??? i don't know. With all the hate guest comments going on, and ao3 restricting the comments from them? (yes, I understand that the restricting is from spam comments and such, but like, I really don't want to deal with that? so???)
i just don't know.
what do you guys think?
